Mass Resistance

MassResistance, “the leading pro-family grassroots activist group in Massachusetts,” began life in 1995 as the Parents’ Rights Coalition, became the Article 8 Alliance in 2003, and took on its current name in 2006. Its leader, Brian Camenker, is a programmer who was an official of the Article 8 Alliance and also headed the Newton, Mass., chapter of the National Taxpayers’ Association.

A leading pro-family activist organisation, MassResistance provides the information and guidance people need to confront assaults on the traditional family, school children, and the moral foundation of society. Based in Massachusetts, we have supporters and activists in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and several foreign countries.

The group is designated an anti-LGBT hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, in part for claims linking LGBT people with pedophilia and zoophilia, and claims that suicide prevention programs aimed at gay youth were created by homosexual activists to normalize and "lure" children into homosexuality. The U.S.-based Southern Poverty Law Center lists MassResistance as a hate group and one of the 18 top anti-gay groups in the United States. Among other things, the group claims that gays are also trying to get legislation allowing sex with animals and to lure children into homosexuality and sadomasochism. Typical of the conspiracy theories associated with such organisations — some of which believe that the American Psychiatric Association is controlled by homosexuals — MassResistance also accuses the CIA and FBI of having a “homosexual agenda.” (https://sentinel.tw/us-hate-group-anti-lgbt/ )

Evident on their official website (https://www.massresistance.org/ ), Mass resistance go around the United states preventing LGBT events from taking places such as crashing Pride parades, Forcing schools to remove LGBT literature, exposing Drag Queens and preventing them from performing in front of kids, infiltrating transgender awareness sessions for teachers, 

MassResistance has always maintained staunch opposition to same-sex marriage. In its booklet, What same-sex 'marriage' has done to Massachusetts, Camenker characterizes acceptance of same-sex marriage as "a hammer to force the acceptance and normalization of homosexuality on everyone". The organisation objects to schools teaching children that same-sex marriages are a normal part of society. They cite "radical" activist judges and "cowardly" politicians as factors in the increasing acceptance of same-sex marriage, and warn the public to fight back. MassResistance opposes laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of gender identity.

On Nov. 6, 2018, Massachusetts voters preserved an existing nondiscrimination law by passing the Massachusetts Gender Identity Anti-Discrimination Initiative with 68% of the vote, that protects the right of people to access public accommodations based on the gender with which they identify. MassResistance had campaigned unsuccessfully with "highway standouts, leafleting, and some public debates” ,to strike down the law. Yeah the constant contradictory arguments is frustrating but with how you put it that way, I can understand the confused and fearful mindset a little better now.

They have to find a way to justify their views that defy logic and science to reassure themselves that they are right. And this goes for so many people who aren't solid in their beliefs. (Also makes me think of flat earthers for some reason)

Right wing political commentators and hosts who spend the majority of their time going on about how LGBT people deserve less rights, should be denied services, are predators and pedophiles, and should be suppressed want to separate themselves from the violence inspired by their rantings.

But they cannot and we will not allow them to be. They are a part of the news media, it’s their job to inform. And they chose to inform their viewers that LGBT people are beneath them, that LGBT people are degenerates, and that LGBT people want to molest their kids and “turn them” trans.

They framed the existence of LGBT people as a threat that needed to be eliminated and a problem to be solved to millions of people. To me, it doesn’t matter if they never explicitly said they deserve to be gunned down.

They basically boast about how it’s okay to hate LGBT people, just don’t act on it. And that’s not good enough.

Their hatred killed us. It continues to kill us.

with the smallest dab of okayness with LGBTQ stuff

has told me (after I was explaining terms) that she IDs as aroace, especially since menopause. it made her feel more comfortable in her skin being divorced and having no desire to date.

and I think about that a lot when people bemoan the idea of temporarily or not always being one ID or label. who does it help to push back against this idea? who does it hurt?

tbh it doesn't rly hurt teenagers to incorrectly id as ace like... what's the worst than could happen? they don't have sex till they're older?? lol

It's kind of weird that mainstream news didn't really cover this Million Women rally that recently happened in last week (during Yom Kippur) given the number of people who participated and the fact that it was perpetuating anti-LGBTQ myths and promoting Christian Nationalism in line with Project 2025's. It's even weirder given that only 2 publications that I'm aware of that called it Christian Nationalism, while other news articles call them "Christian activists" as though using the term "Christian Nationalist" was anathema.

As of today, I've noticed mostly 4 or 5 articles online about it, with one or two being in depth, and probably more than a few behind paywalls.

I think more attention should be paid to rallies like this, even if it seems like Trump's rallies are loosing steam or if Trump looks like he's rambling, there's still large groups of people who would rally and support him, and support the harmful doctrines of Project 2025.

In 2022 there were about 300 anti-LGBT+ bills drafted in the USA. In 2023 there have been around 500 already as of March. An overwhelming number of the ones that have been enacted are anti-trans. My heart aches for all of my lgbT siblings living in America and I continue to be disgusted at the bigotry of those in power.

There is a frightening amount of anti-trans sentiment in my own country, highlighted by the murder of Brianna Ghey last month. The police said it wasn’t a hate crime but that’s bullshit, Brianna was bullied for being trans and her murderers killed her for it. Once the media found out she was trans they deadnamed and misgendered her in articles. She was 16 years old, she was a child. In my country pro-trans legislation has been denied again and again and I’m fucking sick of it. My my country LGBT+ asylum seekers are rejected and deported. I am deeply afraid that soon what’s happening in America will soon happen in the UK too. Nowhere is safe for us

E isso em comparação com países em que ser lgbt é crime, e muitas vezes a sentença é a morte. Eu tenho cicatrizes nos meus seios e até onde, vez ou outra, surge uma ferida. Eu tomo hormônios que me dão mil e um problemas. Trombose, câncer, hipertrofia do coração, engrossamento do sangue, piora depressão, ansiedade e outras complicações mentais. Eu me mato todos os dias para que outras pessoas não tenham esse direito.

Eu não faço essa merda toda no meu corpo pra vir alguém falar "é só um rpgzinho", ou pior ainda, "a gente tem que respeitar o tempo da pessoa desapegar". DESAPEGA DO MEU OVO, SEUS BANDO DE FILHA DA PUTA. Vocês são tudo adulto, tudo racional. Se você teve o discernimento de ir na ask de uma pessoa que não tem propriedade nenhuma pra falar da merda do assunto e perguntar se tem problema, É PORQUE VOCÊ SABE QUE TEM.
