submitted by @lured-into-wonderland for yori's royalty AU // * The capital city was overwhelming. The crowd, the colors, the scents, the things she had never seen nor experienced. Looking out through the window of the chambers that were assigned to her, Nunnally could see the royal garden. She did not recall seeing anything that magnificent. But the girl looked rather worried. Perhaps even unhappy. She did not find herself fitting here. She missed her castle, her small part of the empire. Her duchy was neither big nor her family powerful, although their bloodline was directly linked with the first rulers of the empire. Yet her lands had some importance. For the empire's defensive strategy, rare forests and treasures hidden inside the mountains. Was it why she was called to the capital city? She was anxious. Would she be allowed to go back to her land and actually rule over it? She was prepared. She was the only child of her father, and despite being a female, she was well prepared to take over and continue the reign. Under her family name. Was she considered too young to fully inherit the duchy? But a few years did not matter. Perhaps if she talked to the emperor, she would manage to convince him she is fit to safeguard the interests of the empire? There. Not here.
There was a gentle knock on the door and she was led to meet the…crown prince? Nunnally was surprised. She expected something more formal. In front of the court? But perhaps that was to follow later. Or perhaps she was not important enough. She bowed deeply. A proper curtsy. Hopefully, it was executed well enough. She looked at the prince. She was curious. Perhaps she should not, but she had never been a proper lady. She did not have to. She was the heiress. So, she was just proper enough. She had heard stories about him. About the crown prince. Good and bad: —
“Your Royal Highness is nothing I expected. Seems so different from the stories that are being told.” – oh, that was a bad start. She knew it the moment these words slipped her lips. But there was nothing she could do about it but cover for her mistake. She could not rewind the time. She wished she could.
“That is, it is a pleasure to meet you, Your Royal Highness. The capital city is magnificent. It is my first visit here...since long...” – she was here a few times when she was a little girl. They might even have met once. Or twice. But they were children, so the crown prince would not probably remember. And she was uncertain she wanted him to remember.
❝ OH? — AND WHAT DO THEY SAY ?? ❞
zǔguó is the motherland, and she is good to her sons. in fact, it is her (illegitimate) pride and joy that stands before the girl called "nunnally." he has been told that is what he should call her, so the young prince does when she finally stands at her full height in front of him — flesh-to-flesh / face-to-face — to which he smiles.
everything about him is as perfect as it should be, as he is expected to be. when is entire life has been the royal treatment, it only makes sense that it would reflect from the threads counting his robes to the evenly small pores of his skin. his hair is smooth, slicked back with swept bangs, and he is the blend — the bridge — between this zǔguó and their founded ally in the land of the rising sun. japan has been good to the people of zǔguó ... and so zǔguó has been good to them. together they crafted the people's princess — their own diana — the people's queen.
she was just a regular woman. it was hatanaka's father that had insisted it be her. that it be hatanaka kyoko. hatanaka. the name that prince yori will be known as until he is ready to take the name of his father.
❝ my father is busy. he'll be ready to see you later. my mother is having your room prepared. she'll be taking care of the arrangements for you. her and her mistress, of course. ❞ he smiles. the queen's hand is not her lover but more her friend, albeit a friend that comes to every call and caters to each whim.
his mother is kind, allowing this friendliness to overshadow the tasks.
she is still used to doing everything herself. it has always been difficult for her to adjust to life in the motherland. it has become her maternal landing, yet it will never be japan. she loves it for what it is, for what zǔguó means to her, and how it has taken care of her boy — her yori.
❝ that's true. it has been a while, hasn't it? ❞ he speaks kindly, yet with an easy confidence. this is his domain. he is comfortable here. ❝ you're just as much welcome now as you were then. i trust you travelled well? i'm sure you're probably exhausted. it's not exactly a short journey. ah. ❞
he beckons her forward, as well as gesturing for a nearby palace worker to approach. for what it's worth, most everyone seems happy in their due diligence, clearly taken care of well by the palace that they so dutifully serve in return. it serves them / they serve it. it is functional, and it is something that yori intends to keep when he takes over. the beneficial relationship between THE FAMILY and THE PEOPLE should never be far off. they are cousins, yori would argue. they are family.
❝ i'm afraid until he's ready, it'll just be me for now. all you have to be looking forward to is a welcoming. you'll be ... well, welcomed. and fed, of course. ❞ a man, someone that seems akin to a butler, stands near the crowned prince at the ready. ❝ would you like to change first before we talk? i'd like to show you my gardens. they've grown quite a bit since you were last here. ❞

House of Feanor | Being In An Arranged Marriage With Them
A/N: This was so much I wrote!! For some reason I felt like I made a few of them OOC, but what the hell. It's an AU, so they’ll all be different from the regular Silm verse 😆. I think I broke my wrist whilst breaking a sweat thinking of different scenarios for each of them, but I managed to make it to the finish line! Alas, the final piece! ಥ_ಥ
Warnings: arranged marriage, there are minor angst themes, neglect and loneliness, rejection, comfort and happy endings for most except (Feanor)
˖ ࣪. ࿐♡˚. Feanor
He’s not known as Fëanáro without reason. When those words came out of his father’s mouth, as much as he adored his father, he was incensed by the level and nature of the dictation he was subjected to. He felt he was unjustly punished for some unknown transgression by Eru through this method.
Don’t anticipate him to even breathe, let alone glance in your direction when you’re observing him. He would gladly lock eyes with your figure when you’re not paying attention and scrutinize you without remorse. There’s nothing you could say to convince him of your innocence in this arrangement.
He assumes that you had a say in choosing your spouse because he’s Fëanáro, the firstborn and Crown Prince, and everyone desired him. Though politics and royal duties didn’t interest him, he was now aware of the political rationale behind the union. Eventually, he resists continuing his resentment towards his father because his father was compelled into it (in his opinion).
This resembles a Bridgerton moment, akin to King George and Queen Charlotte, where you reside in one house while he lives in another, a significant distance away. His father can complain all he wants about the lack of effort to establish a connection, and Fëanáro would simply ignore and roll his eyes.
Throughout the arranged marriage, you will feel completely alienated and rejected. There was a time when you were excited about being wed to the Crown Prince, even though your freedom was being curtailed. Even at events where you’re expected to appear as a couple, you arrive in separate coaches.
Do not expect him to hold your hand or have your arm around his elbow. Fëanáro takes the commitment seriously, as he feels his own freedom has been taken away. Talking to him is futile, for he will merely pretend to listen while focusing on getting drunk to forget the entire night.
“Why do you despise me so much? You act as if I am the cause of this entire arrangement when it is your father who is responsible. Listen, if you intend to ignore me, it might be best if we end this, as I did not willingly sign up for this mistreatment, especially from you. We can part ways and continue our separate lives, or if we are to continue, at least afford me the same respect you expect.”
You displayed remarkable courage by confronting his tantrums and earning yourself a few withering side–glances filled with anger and disbelief, because “How dare you speak to me so openly, as if we are equals?!” Kudos to you; you’ve just earned yourself another round of silence for the remainder of the night and week, perhaps even into the afterlife.
Fëanáro has no intention of making your marriage work. Eru could punish him, but he’d simply retort and carry on with his life. It’s all about his belief that he’s being coerced into the same situation as his father and his determination to avoid making that mistake.
If this arrangement is to succeed, you’ll need to pray seven times an hour, every day, for the rest of your life for divine intervention. Otherwise, you’ll be left complaining about his behaviour and treatment while he remains unruffled.
˖ ࣪. ࿐♡˚. Maedhros
He had anticipated this situation due to the constant rivalry between his father and his half–uncle, who incessantly engaged in banter to prove the superiority of their respective families. He often found himself thrust into the forefront of this unnecessary competition. Therefore, he approached the arrangement with a sense of neutrality (lie! he chats his mother’s ear off).
As the firstborn of the heir, he fully comprehends the specific obligations that accompany his title and embraces them wholeheartedly. So, when you join your parents for the first meeting, he gracefully accepts his fate as your husband (although he sheds a few tears in private to his mother).
“It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, My Lady/Lord Y/N. I am Prince Nelyafinwë Maitimo, your betrothed. I sincerely hope that in the brief time before our wedding, we can learn a lot to make our journey as a married couple smoother. Please, do not hesitate to inform me of any discomforts you may encounter, and I will do my utmost to ensure your well–being. Remember, I am your husband, not your master. Have no fear as we build a life together.”
He is a polite and reserved individual, leaning more towards propriety than humour. He barely possesses a funny bone and seldom indulges in levity, which can be one of the more challenging aspects of the marriage. Nevertheless, he is respectful, stands up for you, is considerate, and fulfils all the duties of a husband.
However, he respects your boundaries when it comes to intimacy, acknowledging that you both are strangers. This means separate sleeping arrangements. All other spaces, such as the kitchen, dining room, reading room, coaches, and carriages, are shared.
As a husband, he typically leaves most decisions up to you, entrusting you with the role of household caretaker and offering his input only when you seek an additional opinion or when he believes a change is necessary.
During the initial stages of your relationship, he hopes that you can build good bonds with the rest of his family, particularly his brothers and parents. He is observant of your reactions and interactions with them and adjusts accordingly if he senses any discomfort.
Despite his efforts to avoid such emotions, he becomes sentimental when he reflects on the life he has created with you, even if it feels somewhat mechanical. The absence of arguments and the harmonious atmosphere in the house bring him joy. There are moments of awkwardness, but you’ve both learned to overcome them (and the first time you saw him laugh was when you attempted to make a joke about it).
As your marriage progresses, you encounter numerous highs and lows, primarily stemming from the political aspects. You have expressed your discontent with being treated as a trophy and being involved in unnecessary competition, despite knowing this from the outset. Dealing with this, particularly from his father, is a challenge that you and Maedhros will face together.
˖ ࣪. ࿐♡˚. Maglor
Maglor is just as composed as his older brother, but he doesn’t quite align with the idea of both of you being used for political and competitive purposes. He grapples with the notion that Maedhros accepted the idea of an arranged marriage for political gain so readily. Now, he feels a profound sadness that he can’t freely choose someone to capture his heart.
However, Maglor makes sure that your time together never feels forced or obligatory. He disapproves of the constant reminder of the arranged marriage hanging over your heads. He’s dedicated to making your marriage healthy and happy, erasing any memory of your freedom being taken away.
Inheriting his mother’s temperament, Maglor is a pillar of strength for your concerns and worries. If you ever feel like you’re falling short of the arrangement’s expectations, or if you’re fearful, confused, unhappy, or distant, he encourages you to confide in him without hesitation. After all, he’s your husband and should be your confidant.
The perk of living with Maglor is a home constantly filled with music and music sheets. You may grumble about the sheets being everywhere but his music room, but he melts away any tension by serenading you with songs dedicated to you. It’s his way of expressing his genuine affection and appreciation for having you in his life.
I’d like to dedicate my next song to someone I’ve grown close to in such a short time. They’ve found their way into my heart, even if they’re not entirely aware of it. This song is for them, to show how much I truly care and consider them a dear part of my life. So, without further ado, my next piece is in honour of my wonderful spouse.”
Though he may put you on the spot, he hopes that you’ll be moved by his heartfelt dedication. He isn’t being manipulative; his intentions are sincere, and he genuinely appreciates having you in his life.
Among his brothers, Maglor stands out as the most understanding and the one who despises the mistreatment of the arranged marriage. He firmly shuts down conversations that dwell on the circumstances of how you ended up together and replaces them with whimsical tales of your imaginary first encounters. His theatrical skills come into play as he playfully flirts and teases you, creating a charming and flirtatious atmosphere.
Only when you’re comfortable, does he extend his hand or arm for you to hold, patiently listen to your conversations, or spend time planning extravagant surprises.
Throughout your marriage, Maglor’s primary aim is to provide comfort and eliminate any tension or discomfort. You’ll have a loving husband who will fiercely defend your marriage against anyone who challenges it.
˖ ࣪. ࿐♡˚. Celegorm
Another individual who defiantly scoffs at the arrangement, dismissing it because no one would dare challenge his freedom. Unfortunately, much to his discontent, the news proved true. As a result, he’s now in a fit of rage, flipping tables, and has disappeared for weeks, remaining unseen and unheard.
Tyelko isn’t present during the initial weeks of the arrangement, as he’s off wandering in the forest, complaining to Orome about the perceived unfairness of the situation. All the while, you are left alone in the new house. One can only imagine the shock he’ll experience upon his return.
His return is facilitated by Orome, who encourages him to give the arrangement a chance and approach it with an open mind. Thanks to Orome, your first meeting with Tyelko is relatively amicable, as he meets you standing in the doorway with a concerned expression on your face.
The look of concern you give him is unsettling for Tyelko, as he is accustomed to expecting anger for behaviour. Not knowing how to respond, he might inadvertently snap, making him come across as a jerk. This leads to you becoming reclusive to avoid triggering his temper, making his plan to scare you off fail.
Tyelko soon realises that you rarely speak or interact with him, leaving him to his own devices with homecooked meals and a comforting, caring tone. You even avoid making eye contact when he addresses you directly, leading him to conclude that you’re afraid or hate him.
“Why do you still treat me this way when I have been unpleasant? I don’t like it or enjoy how you look at me. Why must you still care for me when I have been unbothered? Are you manipulating me into feeling guilty? Because if that is the case, I can leave if it stops this unpleasant play. Just why are you still friendly with me?”
You could see the uneasiness in his posture prompting you to feel a sense of pity for neglecting an unheard-of side of him and the pleading tone makes you realise his sincerity. He genuinely wants to know how to end the discomfort in the house.
Accustomed to his harsh nature as described by others, you had found it difficult to imagine him being soft. It was a start in breaking the ice with your views and how you had perceived him to be during the arrangement. To which he scoffed at how you easily fell for the rumours of his roughness (he knows that he’s rough around the edges, but refuses to admit it).
Tyelko cautiously falls into the routine of becoming a caretaker alongside you since you gave him no reason to be hostile. All he can do is hope for the best. He’s still hesitant to let go of his freedom as it brings him peace of mind.
He eventually finds himself slowly warming up to the idea of you doing your best to understand and not readily judge. This eases the preconceived notions he had about you from the beginning. He thought your demeanour was all a façade to control him.
˖ ࣪. ࿐♡˚. Caranthir
Two distinct reactions unfold the moment he’s abruptly brought up to speed with his situation: firstly, he swears, and secondly, he makes a swift attempt to escape the room. This was far from the life he had envisioned for himself, or any different from what his family had endured. He had heard of such unfortunate circumstances befalling others but never fathomed that he too would become a victim.
He seems rather brooding during the entire introduction, and he’s taken aback by the familiar expression mirrored on your face. He had assumed that you would be delighted, as many individuals often eagerly vie for the role of a prince’s spouse, particularly from the first house.
He remains quiet and distant, wanting to intensify your the distance between. Both of you share similar attitudes towards marriage and living habits, which results in minimal attempts at interaction, with each of you occupying different ends of the house.
Polite greetings are given from your end while he silently grumbles and mutters incomprehensible phrases. You take it as a sign that he doesn’t wish to communicate. Though at times, you tend to feel the weight of his gaze on you, and if you catch him staring, he quickly averts his gaze, returning to his displeasure state.
It’s a significant challenge for him to partially embrace the role of a suitable husband, given the constant reminder of the unexpected circumstances that brought you together. Expressing himself has always been a struggle when in times of comfort forsaken, leading to Caranthir muttering his words grumpily.
“I’m not quite certain how to put this into words, but I want us to be on the same page during this arrangement. So, I’d like to know your expectations and views of me. This way, if I am to avoid you or limit our interactions to prevent any discomfort or tension, I can meet them.”
It’s not an easy task for him to forge a tiny connection when the circumstances makes it daring. He has to be mindful of his temper while closely observing your reactions to his actions. He critically assesses every aspect and draws conclusions accordingly.
When in his own environment and free from intrusion, he attempts to gradually involve you in his world by silently inviting you through non-verbal gestures. You have to get use to the fact that he doesn’t appreciate talking too much. This can offer insight into his true self, allowing you to connect more deeply.
However, as your relationship with Caranthir continues to develop, there are bound to be ups and downs, especially when dealing with his outbursts triggered by various factors or his siblings’ relentless teasing. One way to show your appreciation for your place beside him is by coming to his defence.
˖ ࣪. ࿐♡˚. Curufin
I’d like to say he’s Feanor 2.0 in terms of his ideas and approach. However, since it’s Feanor orchestrating the arrangement, Curufin is fully on board and understands his father’s perspective on the benefits. I mean, he’s just as competitive as his father, which is the primary reason behind this arrangement.
Curufin perceives this as a political strategy that he must honour and uphold. From the day you met him, he has had no hesitation in stepping forward and reminding you of the duties you must fulfil as his spouse and the newest member of his household. Your loyalty to him must be unwavering.
Although your initial impression of him left you thinking he was controlling and demanding, all Curufin desires from you, aside from his earlier requests, is your comfort and happiness while living with him. You want to expand your house, sure. You desire a spacious backyard, certainly. You hope for more gifts, without a doubt. If you want to discuss your feelings, he’ll make an effort. If you need space, he’s willing to compromise.
I’m serious about this one; you’ll need to compromise with him if you want your own space—by that, I mean wanting to live separately. If you want separate rooms, he can work with that. Curufin has proper etiquette when it comes to the comfort of those he holds dear.
His top priority is to treat his spouse with the utmost care and respect, ensuring all your needs are met. The only thing he asks is that you don’t take advantage of his vulnerability and exert undue control over him.
“As your husband, it is my duty to ensure that all your needs are met, and in return, I expect the same from you. Whatever you require, please come forward and inform me; there’s no need to conceal your desires. Lay them on the table, and we can work on them together as we were intended to do. I also request that you maintain your dignity and pride when it comes to our new household and family, and everything will go smoothly. Furthermore, I ask that you don’t exploit my kindness and keep our personal life within the confines of our home.”
The entire arrangement may sound controlling and suffocating, but Curufin allows you your freedom. He believes in reciprocity—what he wants for himself, he’s willing to provide in return. He puts in his utmost effort to meet your needs, as long as you show the same enthusiasm.
When he attends an event, his greatest desire is for you to accompany him. He takes pride in showcasing his craftsmanship through the pieces he has created especially for you. He spends hours crafting an array of jewellery to match your preferences.
The surprising aspect of this marriage is his firm stance on conversations concerning your arrangement and your relationship. Everyone is aware of it, but he doesn’t allow others to discuss it, not even his brothers. He sees you as his spouse with the arrangement being a thing of the past.
˖ ࣪. ࿐♡˚. Amrod
Much like Tyelko, Amrod possesses a rebellious spirit, often disappearing when the harsh reality of his situation becomes too apparent. When he does, it’s typically in search of his mother’s advice and assistance. His primary concern is unravelling the mystery of his father’s role in this arranged marriage. Sadly, his suspicions are confirmed as Nerdanel had no say in the matter; it was entirely Feanor’s competitive nature that drove it.
His mother’s invaluable advice to him was to make the best of the situation and take time to get to know you before making any serious commitments. She became his go–to source of guidance whenever he found himself in a tight spot.
Fast forward to the time when he meets you, he’s fully aware that you aren’t thrilled about the arrangement and even contemplated an escape before the introduction. It hurt to hear that you were reluctant to give him a chance, as he was open to doing so. This prompted his dedication to ensuring that the time you spent with him was worthwhile.
Much like Maglor, he’s determined to fill your days with joy and dispel the clouds of resentment, all while maintaining a respectful distance to avoid overstepping any boundaries. Whenever your responses leave him puzzled, he frequently seeks advice from his mother.
Simultaneously, he avoids his father due to his disgust at being essentially bartered like a commodity for his father’s satisfaction. Any discussion related to his marriage is swiftly shut down, and he walks away. He has no interest in hearing comments or mockery about the arrangement.
However, there’s no need to worry because he receives guidance from his mother. If you wish to converse with him, he encourages you to speak openly and share your thoughts without fear. He wants to hear your perspective on things.
“Please understand that I may not be the most well–known among my siblings, and you may have heard little about me. Nonetheless, please don’t hesitate to express your thoughts. While we may not be romantically involved or incredibly close, I will do my utmost to work towards a harmonious relationship. Please give me the opportunity to build something prosperous between us.”
Amrod is dedicated to establishing a secure friendship between the two of you before any romantic involvement comes into play. He aims to create a space where you can feel comfortable and relaxed without the weight of the arranged marriage hanging over your heads. There’s no rush, and you both have the time to sort out your duties and positions as your friendship grows.
Throughout your journey from friendship to romance, Amrod maintains a gentlemanly demeanour. Though you may encounter some challenges along the way, they will be infrequent. Your relationship won’t be flawless, as it’s impossible to forget that you were both thrust into this arrangement without your consent. However, it’s something you can bond over and find common ground to overcome your fears.
˖ ࣪. ࿐♡˚. Amras
The quieter of the two siblings, Amras, maintains his silence even when informed of his situation. His irritation is clearly visible on his face, which leaves you anxious about what to anticipate. He reserves his complaints for private conversations with his twin and mother, all due to his father’s insistence on marriage, which he feels is encroaching on his freedom.
Amras’s silence remains constant from the moment you first met him. Your relationship is marred by a sense of being strangers living under the same roof. He refrains from even greeting you, still seething over the situation and pondering how to express his anger.
Despite his understanding that you played no part in arranging this engagement, Amras can’t prevent his anger from simmering. It’s not directed at you but rather at both sets of parents for their low regard for both of you. Amras struggles to find a way to communicate his feelings without intimidating you.
Amras notices your tendency to distance yourself whenever you’re in the same room with him or when you shrink under his silently judgmental gaze. Your eyes rarely meet his, and when they do, you quickly look away. Your actions make him feel as though he has harmed you or been hostile towards you at some point.
“Could it be that you...resent me for the circumstances that have come between us? You hardly speak to me even when I desire it, fearing rejection and silence. I can sense your anger over what your parents have done, and I share that anger. Perhaps we could attempt to build something together, starting as acquaintances and moving from there.”
His voice breaks, and he likely breaks down, allowing you to witness his vulnerability as he cries. He’s confused and doesn’t know what to do. All he wants is your guidance and support to navigate the storm he’s been thrust into. You are the only lifeline in the ocean he can rely on, just as you rely on him.
Amras may appear somewhat awkward, much like Caranthir, as he observes you in your element, awed by your ability to remain resolute. He is eager to assist and hopes that you will show him what is expected of him, as he has few memories of his parents’ dynamics and relationships.
His primary goal is to become the best husband possible for you, but he first wants to establish a basic foundation and compatibility. He follows you like an eager puppy, observing your features and silently appreciating your beauty. He feels fortunate to have ended up with someone good.
˖ ࣪. ࿐♡˚. Celebrimbor
The moment those words escape his advisor’s lips, he feels a strong urge to toss them out the window. The idea of following his family’s tradition makes Tyelpë shudder. He neither desires marriage nor believes he’s capable of being a great husband, haunted as he is by his old life. He fears that others assume he will repeat his family’s mistakes.
Despite his personal reservations, he acknowledges the political necessity of the situation for the betterment of his kingdom. Consequently, he has no choice but to go with the flow and bear the burden. Upon being introduced to you, he maintains a stiff demeanour, silently repeating to himself, “Don’t mess up, don’t scare them.”
His conduct in this moment is heavily influenced by the obligation he feels toward the prosperity of his people, even though he resents it. Tyelpë can’t help but grind his teeth at the thought, as he believes there must be alternative ways to improve his homeland. However, like everyone else except Feanor, Tyelpe is reserved, observant, and respectful. He listens to you chatter on about the benefits of unifying both kingdoms while silently stewing in his own thoughts.
Polite and approachable, he makes an effort to ensure you don’t feel alienated by his role as your future husband. He respects your boundaries and the need for distance between you, given that you are still strangers.
“Please do not harbour any ill feelings toward me for the choices I’ve made to secure myself. We are still in the process of getting to know each other, and my intentions are far from ostracising you. The concept of an arranged marriage and warming up to a stranger from a distant land is still a challenge for me. I have much to learn, so I ask for your patience.”
During the pre–courtship period before your marriage, Tyelpë is a gentleman and crafts small trinkets as tokens of his growing fondness for you. These may include a hairpin, hair comb, bracelet, earrings, or a simple pendant necklace. He saves the more extravagant designs for when he becomes more accustomed to his role as your partner.
While you need not fear his temper, he kindly requests that you refrain from flaunting your relationship in public, even though everyone is aware of the arrangement. Tyelpë values his privacy and would be disappointed if his personal life became a topic of discussion.
Be prepared to spend nights alone in bed, as he isn’t yet comfortable sharing his personal space. He might suggest having separate chambers until some time has passed and he’s warmed up to the idea of closer proximity. He simply asks for your understanding, as his reclusive tendencies are his source of comfort.
The only potential challenge you may face is his reclusive behaviour persisting for a longer period than expected. He is aware that you may eventually come to terms with being paired with him, but he struggles with it. There are unresolved issues from his past that he needs to address before fully embracing someone new in his life.

The sounds of non-stop Insomnian traffic became more and more distant the further you go into the upper-class districts… or the slums. The rich chauffeured to their destinations and the poorest unable to pay for even the bus. Thankfully, his wandering and this park were a fair distance from where it was too quiet for Vespers liking.
‘Knows he’s safe’, Logical, if the kid was thinking that straight then he should be fine. Of course, keeping him safe was their main job now- one of the things they attempted to be good at… but maybe they should have asked for a closer pick up or someone else to join; someone that made him more comfortable since they didn’t feel like much help. The anxiety he mentioned hadn’t seemed to subside – still tense…
Letting the breeze through dry leaves fill the silence, they… weren’t sure what to do, to think… thinking was, at times, the problem; Vesper could over-think things, wouldn’t ever admit to being slightly paranoid themselves… Yet for right now though, the kids unease was pulling at something else inside and stealing their focus.
Shifting on the bench, “Do… y-ou want someone else?” trying not to sound too awkward, knowing they weren’t the best company. They didn’t get time for an answer, quickly looking past, light catching their eye; the familiar shaped headlights of a higher end sedan lit up the bench briefly. Royal colours dark as ever on the car pulling into the parking lot.
Sitting up straighter with a sigh, easing off; barely noticing having leaned into Noctis space to glare at the vehicle until the Marshal stepped out. Giving his shoulder one last squeeze, arm sliding off as they stood up; back to the rules, at least it was someone he knew that came, “…guess you’re free of me.”
Clearing the area with a brief scan before the Immortal quickly ushered the Prince into the backseat without a word. But the shoulder slump and sigh he gave first getting out, hadn’t escape the Glaives notice- the man trying to keep his relief discreet at being reunited safely.
Waiting until the door was shut before demanding a debrief- the Marshal wanted everything. There wasn’t much to share; giving the approximate location of the illegal bar and suspicions on what was being served. The information sent on to where ever it was needed. The kids motivations were his to explain, or not, and Vesper could really only take Noctis word for how he was feeling… and he didn’t need any additional speculation- or questions.

Dragging their eyes from pedestrian, following the kids gaze to the empty lot opposite their meandering. The post at the entrance was slightly warped, bending the red and white signs wording but shiny black car with darker windows had yet to appear. Settling into the seat more with a sigh, breath cloud barely visible under the light, “Shouldn’t be…”
They had no idea who was coming but there was a pretty good chance the Captain had left soon as the search was called off… which made sense; the Marshal was more likely than that hot head junior shield, he- Glancing to their side, kid was unmistakably agitated despite the ‘tired’ comment; vocal tones, body posture, movement- all things read without thought but they had been paying attention, they were over thinking. Was it them? Recon had a reputation… and them within… wouldn’t be a surprise if he’d heard the gossip and rumors: they’d heard a few while shadowing the royals in public.
It… bothered them, quite a bit… confusingly, that the kid was on edge. That he seemed… Most of tonight had been troubling and it wasn’t due to a middle of the night search party. Taking a breath only to pause, not entirely sure what to say; this wasn’t their business- not their problem…
“That drink… if it’s the one I’m thinkin of…” surprised at voiced words; the rough start quickly evening out. Talking wasn’t their strongest skill, let alone holding a conversation yet only a portion of that could be blamed on past injury. They were just awkward and ill equipped at socializing
“Cn make negative feelns more intense… but the opposite is true too…” a little more accent slipping in and out as they went. Most of the translations were eluding them tonight; there were better ways to explain the custom- some they hadn’t learned but for what they did understand… sounded ridiculous in lucian.
Communing with spirits didn’t seem pertinent and though ironically an alcohol, being consumed to heal the soul also didn’t feel like the right words. Either way, this or with drinks in general it was better not to dwell in the bad.
“Might feel a bit off but…” There wasn’t a way to undo a choice once the action is done, and they doubted there was going to be much of a surprise in whatever consequences were expected from this so- “…how… uh, what usually helps?” He should try to focus on the good.
Noctis nodded, finding some comfort in Vesper’s words. Now that his location was known, every effort would no doubt be made to return him home as quickly as possible. They would be there soon. He was just grateful he wasn’t alone. If Vesper hadn’t been there, he would probably be pacing right now, jumping at even the smallest and most innocent of sounds.
He thought that Cor would probably be the one to pick him up. Not only would he want details from Vesper, but he’d want to personally ensure his safety. Normally Noctis would find the man’s concern suffocating, but right now, he’d take it without complaints. Cor was somebody he’d always felt safe around. The man was practically family.
A drink that made positive and negative emotions stronger – it was a dangerous thing indeed. For Noctis, it seemed to be triggering his insecurity and paranoia. For someone like him, a certain degree of paranoia was, not only unavoidable but encouraged. He needed to be ready for anything. Even your average person walking down the street could prove themselves a threat and Noctis, in particular needed to be careful. He was a target, after all. He was a way to get to the King.
Right now, the paranoia was skyrocketing, no doubt because of the drink. Every noise was making him tense. The shadows of inanimate objects were starting to look malicious. He let out a heavy sigh and closed his eyes for a moment in an attempt to block everything out.
“I dunno. You being here helps though…not being alone. I know I’m safe even if I don’t feel it right now.”

In the name of youth! TXT dreams of tomorrow
TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s teasers that were released prior to dropping their new album entitled minisode 3: TOMORROW traces along the team’s past.
The first one, “TXT minisode 3: TOMORROW Concept Trailer Teaser” in which the members appear donning crowns is a nod to their debut song “CROWN”, while the photos and concept clips of the other three versions “Light”, “Ethereal”, and “Romantic” overlap with the many moments since their debut up till the present. “Light” in which the members look like young princes amid nature that they have all to themselves reminds us of the group’s early years, when they landed on the music scene as fresh, mysterious young boys up to their “Blue Hour” period. The members look like fallen angel-turn-rockers in “Ethereal” which reminds us of the rock number “0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You) feat. Seori” where the members emulated young boys who got lost along the way. In “Romantic” the rose from the music video of “Good Boy Gone Bad,” which is a song about a boy’s overwhelming emotions over breaking up with his lover, makes another appearance except it has now withered and dried up. It’s indeed a “Deja Vu” much like the lead single off minisode 3: TOMORROW. The same events are repeated, but they’re not quite the same. TOMORROW X TOGETHER dance in the “minisode 3: TOMORROW Concept Trailer” just like they did in the “Blue Hour” music video. But instead of in a beautiful plain in “Blue Hour” they dance in a wasted forest with overpasses running through, trees strewn about. Things in the present have gone miserably wrong, unlike in the past. They are in the real world; the members jumped in willingly in the last album The Name Chapter: FREEFALL. Here, nobody believes that they were once young princes.
“I’ve fun away countless times” in “Deja Vu” recalls the lyrics that asks us to run away with them in “Run Away,” that they want to run away in “CROWN,” and that they are running away in a gray car in “LO$ER=LO♡ER.” “Before our dusty crown” is reminiscent of “CROWN” and “A big crown on my, they aren’t hideous horns anymore,” and of the relationship between horns and a crown. “Deja Vu” is a culmination of TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s past. All of their pasts made TOMORROW X TOGETHER who they are here, in the real world. Just like in the opening of “CROWN,” there’s a Morse Code in the second track of the album that comes before “Deja Vu”: ‘- --- -- --- .-. .-. --- .—’. This signal that marked the team's appearance is still being sent out today. However, the signals in “Deja Vu” are “Morse Codes from the ruins” The boys have come to the present from the past, from fantasy to reality, but their present, right here is in ruins. The brutal reality of the present demolishes all the good times, just like the waves erode the sand. The beat and melody of “Deja Vu” continue, like Morse Codes sent from the past reaching us in the present. However, just like TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s past that is reflected in “Deja Vu”, the past that remains in their memories stops them from accepting reality just as it is. They want to keep believing that they were young princes, even if nobody would believe them. And reality is here to aggressively eliminate this wish. This is how they become overcome with an emotion that is neither just sadness nor rage. While “Deja Vu” is a mix of lazy trap and emo-rock, it is more of a combination of complex feelings than a simple mash up of genres. The slow buildup of pent-up emotions along with the beat erupts in the latter half of the second verse in an emo-rock sound with guitars and drums at the fore. It seems like we are severed from our past, but the past can also be the driver that awakens our emotions that have been suppressed by reality. It can create the miracle of tomorrow like in “Miracle,” the track that follows “Deja Vu.” The emotions that are repressed in “Deja Vu” climaxes in the second half of the second verse, then transforms into a bright explosive rock sound in “Miracle” - “tomorrow is visible when your eyes are closed.” We’re not sure if this miracle of tomorrow will ever come true. But like in the last track “Quarter Life,” save for the acoustic rendition of “Deja Vu,” “Deja Vu (Anemoia Remix),” they are in fact stumbling through a dark time, just “a quarter way into a long, long tunnel,” which is quite a far way from nine and three quarters. The adults say, “you only get these beautiful days of youth now,” failing to understand the younger generation, but the boys want to shout out “which way do we go”?! TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s past journey that has been compiled into minisode 3: TOMORROW flips the young people’s relationship with the past and the present, their dreams and reality. Adults in the real world say that young princes don’t exist, that we need to live in the real world. But minisode 3: TOMORROW tells us that all our dreams and love of the past is the way to a “tomorrow” that transcends reality. Young boys who are born in the age of hip hop meets rock to leap into tomorrow.
Once you’ve listened to the whole album, go back to the first track “I'll See You There Tomorrow” and give it another listen. While you may not know which way to go and things may feel bleak, “Quarter Life” tells you to tells you to wander a little, work your way through it, then “I'll See You There Tomorrow” tells the young child who told me “see you again tomorrow” when “I wanted to run away,” and says “I believe that we are meant to be, it’s okay if you’re late, I will always wait for you tomorrow.” In this moment, “I'll See You There Tomorrow” becomes the last moment when TOMORROW X TOGETHER passes through the dark reality and reaches “tomorrow” together, while showing us a glimpse into TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s future as the first track of the album. Reality is depressing, miserable. But future TOMORROW X TOGETHER invites themselves in the present, and the child that says “see you again tomorrow” to the beyond. The explosive voice from "Deja Vu” expresses the overwhelming emotion of tomorrow’s arrival without too much strain, accompanied by electronic sounds.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s journey has been moving through the dreamy past and the present reality, and towards the future. minisode 3: TOMORROW encompasses the past, present and future all in one album to show us that the young boys are about to embark on a new journey. It seems like they have made it through a quarter of their lives in reality, but in the far future, they may be completely different luminous people. Like the message of the fourth concept trailer “Promise,” reaching what is “beyond” together is all a part of the youthful days shared by TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s generation.

@fatestouch | ♡ | Setia's gala, royalty verse!
"Mmm...you haven't really missed too much from the last time I wrote you. Honestly, it's still a lot of clean up, at this point." Jai admitted quietly over the rim of his drink. His legs hung over the edge of the castle's rooftop as the two talked, seated so they could look over the whole of the capital city. It was a little chilly out, but the alcohol was doing a pretty good job of keeping them warm.
"I heard that Tahariel and some of that group managed to get an invite to the gala though. Guess I shouldn't really be surprised. Still, I'm hoping they don't cause any trouble while we're here. Things are already going to be pretty tense between the Vasyrus representatives and Uncle Fei. Then again, it wouldn't be a real party if there wasn't some drama, right?"
Ahnia's crown prince quiets for a few lingering moments after that. Eventually looking over at Cecil with a little smile.
"...I'm glad you were able to make it, Ci. I missed you."

♡(ŐωŐ人)
Joseph and Morgan ;3
NAME: Arthur Braveheart, full name and title Prince Arthur Nobilis (Grandcrest)-Valkyrie
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: A Kirlia with blue coloring (shiny variant), and notable head appendages that appear almost like a 'crown'. His eyes are a throwback to his grandfather in a deep shade of blue. By all means a normal Kirlia except for the fact he has a pair of white feathered wings. He is usually seen wearing clothing that his uncle has made for him much like his mother does.
PERSONALITY: A noble soul who wants to be a chivalrous knight one day after hearing stories from his parents. He is by no means the 'golden child' and knows this ( no, for Morgan, that will always be Ashelia, and for Joseph in one verse or another goes to another child ), but he tries not to let it bother him. He's determined to pave his own way and thus there is a sense of independence about him. He believes in justice and is fairly mature for his age by the time he becomes a Kirlia. However, he still has a long way to go as noted by his grandfather and father, but that doesn't keep him down.
FUTURE: Evolves into a Gallade who can Mega Evolve on his own. He achieves his dream of becoming a Knight and is sworn in on the Demon Realm's side, but he spends most of his time in the Pokemon world travelling and doing good deeds. On rare occasions he accompanies his parents on their adventures. In 'trainer verse', he ends up living with the Grandcrests and being part of the sibling triad of Ashe/Kianga/Him that defends it, and in 'PMD verse', he ends up being the true bridge between Morgan's family and Florence's family in making first contact and doing what he can to help Team Destiny in their exploits.
FIRST LOVE: Passion? Swords and Family. Romantically? Unknown, we're not there yet.
IMAGE REFERENCE: N/A.

❝ they want us to marry, ❞ says the prince languidly, his tongue in their most common language. she is most accommodating, he’s come to learn, thus he does the same for her, though it seems hardly necessary.
his country might be smaller in physical capacity, an island near the coast of china, but it seems his problems are much the same in magnitude as any other. duty does not sneeze upon the size of a throne, only the one that sits on it. hardly a focus on the ruler at hand, instead always preparing for the next, and the next, and the next.
❝ none of my options have been exactly favorable. ❞ to him. he understands bonds that make allies and seals deals. his mother, a commoner, was much of the same reasoning. a woman of the people. her marriage had secured fine relations with japan. hatanaka is a name he is called ( the name of his mother, soon to take the name of his father ) , and yori ( the people’s son ) is the prince, but on days like these, he longs to escape, as being yori is an awfully tiring position.
there is a beat before he speaks again. the silks of his robes are spun of many threads, finely woven with care. their country dons a striking green of healing, yet the undertones in his robe are a brilliant blue. i prefer red, he thinks as he looks down at the material. but they never make it for me.
thus far, the prince can say he enjoys the times he has spent here with her, the prodigal daughter. he is not the prodigal son, but he will help bear something close to it; a miracle child. that will come later, if at all. this timeline is messy for them both.
❝ i don’t often get to be alone these days, ❞ he confesses. the space they occupy in the gardens are private, a scene set for two, not three or four, and he keeps the distance between them coupled at an impasse of move closer and stay away. ❝ — and you? i’ve heard you’re facing something similar, right? ❞ // * @violevin

❝ i assure you, i am very real. ❞
her compliments are sudden, although accepted. he allows her to speak freely, posture straightening a hair at the mention of his perfection and youth, brow furrowing at the mention that he is cold. there are many layers to this.
❝ it's fair you expected someone older, someone like my father. i apologize again for his temporary absence. he's a bit staunch but progressive enough. you'll like him ... if you agree with him. hm. you'll find i'm a little easier to get along with. not quite as cold as i've been called, but certainly privy enough to take the throne. it's my birthright, and i intend to do it the way it's supposed to be done — for the people. the distances i keep are only what is necessary. ❞
hatanaka waves his hand lazily side-to-side.
❝ so serious all of a sudden. let's move on to more official matters, such as the temporary lodgings we have you in. they are adequate, although just adequate. you'll find the room my mother is having prepared much more agreeable. her handmaiden is very good. it was important to us to have the best see over your time here. rest assured, everyone that works here is the best. that is because they are happy, just the same as we intend to keep you. ❞
her nerves are palpable. she needn't be nervous in front of him, nor his mother, but he understands her awkwardness about having to (eventually) address his father.
that will come later; over dinner, hatanaka assumes. it isn't that his father is a cruel man, quite the opposite, but he is a leader, and leaders are foreboding by nature.
❝ these robes are stifling, ❞ he admits, ❝ and make it difficult to walk through the gardens; to really enjoy them. ah, it's not a matter of how you look. you look more than beautiful, but i was more thinking you might want to get more comfortable? i'm going to. ❞
and his "assistant," without being asked, strips the prince of his outer layers, revealing a fitted, yet appropriate outfit. he is nothing if not dressed for the part, always. the man takes these robes away and does not return. this is at the prince's request. leave us.
❝ but, if you're already comfortable, then we can begin. we can start by closing the distance i'm rumored to keep, eh? ❞ he extends his arm, bent at the elbow, for her to take. naturally, he will lead.
His question embarrassed her. But it was obviously her fault; Nunnally brought in on herself. It was obvious her previous remark would trigger that sort of question upon her. She blushed. She knew she did. She was not used to formal situations. Especially not in the capital city. With the crown prince.
“I…I mean I am not sure what they say here…but from where I come from…” – Nunnally already knew that it would go wrong; she did not know how to properly describe it – “I…I expected someone more…” – no that was no good either. So finally Nunnally opted out for some honestly.
“You look much kinder and much younger than I was told to expect. Perhaps also more elegant…and more…perfect…” – a pause – “They say you are cold and distant. A perfect prince to inherit the throne…” – she let her honesty took a worse or a better part of her – “But I see a person, a real person in front of me. Not just a crown prince…I know it’s silly of me…” – she suddenly got scared of her own words – “I beg your forgiveness Your Royal Highness.” – ( “Were these the right words? “) – she asked herself when bowing in front of the prince again.
“Thank you, Your Royal Highness.” – Nunnally said when he explained about why he was seeing her and not the king. Perhaps he did forgive all the silly words she had just said; perhaps he was just polite. Not that she had much choice anyway. But his words and his tone was kind so perhaps the prince could simply understand how nervous she was – “I hope not to be much burden for Their Majesties. So far, I have been very well taken care of. The rooms…the rooms that were temporarily assigned to me are already rather comfortable.” – in fact they were the pretties chambers she had even seen. Beautiful and luxurious. She expected the more permanent ones should be even more overwhelming.
She blushed. When the crown prince suggested she should change. She already did. She would not dare to see the prince in the same clothes she came here. And she honestly travelled more like a man than a lady. But probably her dress was not enough for the royal standards. She felt ashamed. She did not think about that before.
“I…I…will be happy to see the gardens…” – (“What should I do?”) – “We…we can go now…” – Nunnally again opted for honesty – “I have already been given a chance to refresh after the journey. And change. Even if…it might not be exactly seen…my…my outfits might not be exactly fitting…but…but I am sure the capital city would allow me to find and purchase more proper attires…and I will…will be more fitting when I meet Your Highness again.”
That was embarrassing. She wanted to be sent away. She wanted home.

so i finally wrote up some information pertaining to ren’s royalty verse. basically, i went the princess diaries route and created my own country, but i wanted to respect ren’s ethnicity as being half-chinese, so i took a lot of influence as well as location. i did my best, but if there’s anything inaccurate please definitely let me know. i’d rather be both respectful as well as correct. some of the minor details might shift such as population, but for the most part, i tried to base it on several influences for island country populations.
note: this is a complete au. yori is born a royal. his mother, hatanaka kyoko, is from japan, a commoner that became the “people’s queen.” his father acts as a more progressive figurehead.
the country that yori’s father** is from, and subsequently leads, is an island country called 祖国 ( zǔguó ) off the southern sea of china. 祖国 is mandarin for motherland. the primary dialects are derived heavily from cantonese and mandarin with light influences from the xiang dialect.
their cultural roots are related to china. chinese settlers found the island, creating a habitable environment. over time, the distance between the island and the mainland created a dissonance between the island and mainland. traditions began to break off and divert as the people of the island began to create a culture of their own, soon naming their home officially “ zǔguó .” this only further established their independence. still retaining its influence of chinese culture, although now combined with their new identity, zǔguó began running itself by itself for itself.
a proper government was established after a few failed attempts, as well as establishing their own royal family. this royal family was based on the most prominent land owner at the time, with other high ranking families joining the royal court.
they trade spices, rice, and other primary goods.
they have both urban and rural areas, relying heavily on their farmers and fisherman for their food supply. the primary staples are rice, fish, poultry, and mutton.
the size of the island is roughly the same size as iceland, which is 101,826km or 39,315 square miles, being roughly a few hundred miles smaller than iceland, but less than half the size of japan.
** there are rumors that yori may not be the legitimate heir to the crown, primarily spun by those with disdain for the crown. **
several large ports along the island encourage trade between other populated islands, and, as time progressed, other countries around the globe. there are slight tensions, being a very reserved island, thus keeping a somewhat strict hold on immigration. however, foreigners are often there on business, vacation, or other various reasons. there are limited visas that expire generally within a few months to a few years, and immigration can be difficult and is usually allowed through marriage to a naturalized citizen.
there has been prosperity in tourism, though they survive on their own economic structure connected heavily through prior local / now global trade. as this island is based near / around the southern sea, there are territorial disputes from outside sources in trying to keep realistic.
“The South China Sea disputes involve both island and maritime claims by several sovereign states within the region, namely Brunei, the People's Republic of China (PRC), Taiwan (Republic of China/ROC), Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. An estimated US$3.37 trillion worth of global trade passes through the South China Sea annually,[1] which accounts for a third of the global maritime trade.[2] 80 percent of China's energy imports and 39.5 percent of China's total trade passes through the South China Sea.[1]”
in transitioning into the modern age, there has been an upturn in industry, thus an expanse in creating more urban cities. their capital and two largest neighboring cities hold a combined population of roughly 57,300, as many move primarily to the capital in hopes to pursue better quality education and work.
like most major cities, there is economic diversity, as well as disparity, among the general population. there are small red-light districts, as well as areas struggling to get by.
the general population of the island remains at roughly just under 250,000 people.
larger cities garner more populace, though there are still many villages, especially coastal ones. their seaside cities generally hold smaller populations of under 1,000, with their villages holding generally less than 5k. in comparison to places such as japan and hawaii, this is a relatively small population. in comparison to iceland, it’s about half of their population. that being said, the population is facing a ‘baby boom’. over the next ten years, they are likely to see a 10% rise in population.
there is a general council / set of advisers established to assist their emperor. to foreign countries, there is an associated title of ‘king’, though that isn’t entirely accurate. this family is considered a dynasty and has generally had a favorable rule with little black marks in their lineage. like all countries, there have been very real struggles with religion, politics, socioeconomics, and generally most issues that come with having a large populace ruled under a government.
while chinese royalty uses the color yellow, i have zǔguó use the color green in their royal court, as it is a color of healing. it is traditional, but not always standard, and the young prince is often seen dressed in blues, creams, and tans.
yori is coming into power after a general age of stability, which is now on him to help maintain, as well as continue to make better than the man before him.
ren vs yori: yori is ren’s birth name, whereas ren is an alias he uses when he goes out to lessen the association as a royal.
how do you address the prince? what names does he go by? commonly “the emperor’s son”, any variation of “my lord, my prince”, the usual honestly. he goes by yori as the name he’s most known for, and also is addressed as “hatanaka” until he takes over his father’s position. when he succeeds his father, he will then be known as the emperor. calling him “hatanaka” is meant to symbolize he is still a “son of japan.” this helps ease tensions and keep relations good. additionally, any variation utilizing a term of respect paired with either hatanaka or yori is fine. he is also a more “lax” prince. he doesn’t mind being talked to more formally if he initiates that sort of thing. if someone is within the same status as him, especially more his age, they generally already address him a bit more formally.

Thumbs brush along his cheeks as hands cradle the tallers' jaw , ashen blues gazing deeply into chocolatey hues . " I think you're beautiful. "
❝ oh, you think so? ❞ the crowned prince replies easily, adapting to her tongue quickly. he must have learned either in the anticipation of arriving or the necessity of a young royal's education. does it really matter?
he oozes an lazy charm, something familiar and oddly becoming of him. ❝ ah, but don't they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder? so ... are you beholding my beauty, then?? ❞
he supposes she is, hands on his face in the stillness of the air that hangs between them.
if he's breathing, the prince doesn't show it. call me yori, he's told her before, but how can he shake off what's his natural birthright?? you can't change who you are, son. he is not hatanaka here; that is in another life, one he does not even know he could be living at this very moment. somewhere else, far away despite its genetic nativity to him, he is treading a far more dangerous path.

she's rather agreeable today. in truth, she's been rather agreeable the entire time (given their circumstances). ❝ that could be .... oddly useful, ❞ says the prince. it's best for him to be agreeable too. ❝ there are some things we ought to be able to keep to ourselves. as husband and wife. ❞ hatanaka's loud frown has now become a more amicable grin. he is not always so playful, a bit more on the serious side, but he can be lackadaisical in his own right. ❝ i'm flattered you can find the time for me. ❞
admittedly, he feels a bit on the outskirts. she is doing far more of the legwork, and he is more of an attractive ornament. this will give him some minor purpose while there.
❛ in sickness and in health. ❜ with a small amused smile does kira repeat the words, along with a slight nod of her head as she spared a glance up from her work. she was one to keep her word, and with ren already helping her with their given arrangement, it was the least she could do to make sure it benefitted him equally. the sovereign diverts all of her attention to him, now, as she rests her elbow atop her desk and chin on her open palm. ❛ i'd like that. we can make time for you to teach me. so that you and i could talk in the language even while we're here. ❜

❛ do you miss it? ❜ the sovereign asks, her gaze turning from her work and now to her betrothed. there was much to learn about him, she realizes, even with their arrangement. ❛ if you are feeling homesick, you're welcome to return home. regardless of our engagement, you are not a prisoner here. ❜
