perospero not really being able to comprehend big mom dying/being defeated. him straight up not knowing what to do because of how overwhelming everything is and he didn't plan for that. his conflicting feelings about missing his mama and blaming himself for her (assumed) death, but also not being terrified of her every waking moment. him realizing he made a lot of things worse for his siblings and he was compliant so frequently. him with this empty, gaping hole where his mama would be. the relief at realizing that he won't have to deal with her tantrums or her hunger pangs ever again. wanting to be sad, and he is, but tears just don't come. the guilt over not feeling more torn up about it. him refusing to change things because even when she's gone that fear and belief that "do it because mama said to" even if he knows that things were bad. the embarrassment over realizing that something is wrong at 50 years old and just pretending like things are fine and that the charlotte family just needs to get it together.
