tears ran down his face as he looked up at michael from his spot on the floor. he hated this. he knew michael was right. no one would believe him and the one person that had believed him... well, he no longer had a way to contact her. not without stealing michael's phone and well... that's why he was in this predicament anyway. "i... i'm sure there's one out there you haven't twisted with your lies." he doubted it, but maybe if he believed it enough.... a defeated sigh fell from his lips. "can we just not tonight? please? i don't want to do this right now. i'm sorry, okay? i won't try using your phone again."

"such high praise coming from you." dakota grins. and he truthfully wasn't trying to be a smart ass... this time. he knew millicent more than he cared to let on because he needed to. the one time he had compared her to his ex really hit home to how different they actually were. sure millicent could be awful, but she wasn't anything like michael. and he still felt like making it up to her from time to time - usually without her knowledge. but maybe she knew. it wouldn't surprise him if she did.

"but why's that?" his arms wrapped around her a little tighter, pulling her closer to him as his lips brushed against the back of her neck.

it had happened quickly. michael had been in a playful mood for the first time in months and had picked dakota up and deposited him on the kitchen table, causing michael's favorite cup to be knocked onto the floor. the shattering of it had dakota's blood run cold as he froze. while the look on michael's face seemed innocent enough at first while he bent down to pick up the glass, when he had come back up and acted as if he was going to gently rub his thumb against dakota's cheek and instead had ran the glass along it, smirking as the blood slowly dripped down his face. "don't even think about trying to beg for forgiveness." he kept his gaze down, refusing to meet michael's gaze as he muttered that it wasn't his fault and he didn't need michael to forgive him anyway.
