Every time someone in this godforsaken fandom says "I think we've talked about misogyny enough" I want to hit them with a hammer. No we haven't.
We haven't even talked about the deep "Ruikasa&Akitoya Vs. literally everyone else" imbalance enough but imagine all of the people that get pressured into writing specifically for male/male ships simply because otherwise they won't get any appreciation.
Yes it's a cowardly thing but when you see Ruikasa having over 4000 fics and Ichisaki having like 5 in total obviously you're going to be discouraged. Obviously you'll be biased into creating Ruikasa instead of other ships.
And as someone who depends on appreciation in particular to do any work at all obviously that's going to have a lasting consequence. Some people spend 4 hours crying in front of a screen just for 3 people to like their work and leave, it's understandable if they lose passion for creating at all, you guys killed them.
It's even in how we handle m/m ships. You go into a fic that's tagged Rui&Tsukasa(platonic), someone in the comments always goes "okay but when do they kiss". You go to an action-packed longfic, someone always ends up going "okay but when do they kiss".
Fuck you guys. Actually. This is a silly piano tiles game about Hatsune Miku, we should be one of the MOST CREATIVE fandoms in history and somehow people still get mad over two boys not kissing immediately after getting introduced. It's so fucking difficult being a content creator in this fandom because you always end up having to take the same route. They meet they tease they kiss. End of story. "Oh you're doing something "lame" instead? -1 kudo. Bring me my yaoi next🖕"

y'know one of the things i do appreciate about the rayllum fandom is the variety in perspective and willingness to engage in things that may not be entirely canon but still fun to explore.
for example, while there are many first born daughters named sarai running around, there are also first born sons, adopted children, and rayllum having no kids named after sarai as well. there are various HCs about who ends up taller, who proposes first, and where the pair live short and long term / what they do after the war. a lot of the fandom sees them as aspec, and others see them as bi (i'm sure there are also people who see them as both). some people really liked s4, some people didn't, but things have calmed down enough that both perspectives can more easily coexist. nobody really thinks rayla is going to be permanently kill callum in s6 or vice versa but exploring that or other things in fic is still a fun thing to explore if angst is your kind of thing.
and i just think it's really nice

The Other Guardian // Home for the Holidays (13/15)
Castiel had never questioned what angels were. But that wasn't acceptable anymore, because he wanted to be more than just a foot soldier—he wanted to be an angel as Sam had imagined them, believed in them, entrusted himself to them for so long without a reply. Castiel wanted to be the one Sam entrusted himself to. He wanted to be worthy of that.
image description: Scenes of Sam and Castiel alternating with the above excerpt from the 26th chapter of ‘Home for the Holidays’ by red_river. Scenes are from “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester,” “On the Head of a Pin,” “Abandon All Hope...,” and “The Man Who Would Be King.”
4x07: Sam looks surprised and upset about the angels’ plan, and Castiel turns fully away from him, looking down while saying, “I’m sorry. But we have our orders.” Sam shakes his head and pleads, “No, you can’t do this, you’re– You’re angels.” Castiel looks up as he finishes.
text reads: [Castiel had never questioned what angels were. But that wasn't acceptable anymore, because he wanted to be more than just a foot soldier—]
4x16: Castiel stands in front of Sam in the hallway of a hospital, looking up at him, confused. Sam turns and walks away from him as Castiel watches, coming to a troubling realization.
text reads: [he wanted to be an angel as Sam had imagined them, believed in them, entrusted himself to them for so long without a reply.]
5x10: While trapped in a fire of holy oil, Castiel stares down Lucifer and tells him determinedly, “You are not taking Sam Winchester. I won’t let you.”
text reads: [Castiel wanted to be the one Sam entrusted himself to. He wanted to be worthy of that.]
6x20: A demon quickly hits Sam’s gun out of his hands, and flips him over a table, breaking it. The demon moves to stomp on Sam’s face, and he throws up his hands. At the same time, Castiel appears and pushes the demon away, and smites him.

need tom to get deliriously sick and be really upset about it. he texts greg to bring him some particular thing but aggressively insists that he's fine when greg gets there, and that he really just needed the thing, but also he did in fact need greg to see him. and pity him. all while tom fights it off and pathetically tries to bully greg for playing nursemaid when greg is really just making him tea anyway. and greg tells him he should take a hot bath and tom just snaps back "i already tried that. idiot." and there's silence and tom tells him "you're gonna catch what i have" and greg says "i already did. i've been feeling the beginnings of it since before you left work." and tom stares back at him and doesn't know whether to say i'm sorry or well, good so instead he says "and i suppose you're expecting me to play nurse for you when you're bedridden in a couple days..." and greg shrugs and says not really and tom says almost immediately "i will." greg chalks it up to delirium and otherwise doesn't know what to say so he just carries on, but before he leaves entirely he feels for tom's temperature and tom is just out of it enough to reach up for greg's hand and slide it down to his lips and kiss greg's knuckles. and later greg pointedly does not wash that hand.
