Sweet as Cake
So I threw a little GerFrUk thing together since it if Francis’ birthday today.
Paring: GerFruk

“God damn It.”
“Shhhhh,” Ludwig hushed, giving Arthur a death glare.
“I know I know, but-” Arthur hissed in pain when Ludwig took hold of his now injured hand.
Today was Francis’ birthday and at the last minute, Arthur had proposed that he and Ludwig make him a cake to surprise the Frenchman. Although it was short notice, it seemed manageable once they got all the ingredients so Ludwig had agreed. Unfortunately, Arthur had slept in a bit so they were now on a time constraint and now the Brit had injured himself in his rush.
“Hey...it's okay. We still have time. If we keep a level head we’ll be fine.”
Although he was also worried about this, he wasn’t about to let Arthur lose his cool. He placed a kiss on the burn mark and continued, “you go take care of this, I’ll keep working here.”
Arthur's brows furrowed in hesitancy, but he ended up heading to the bathroom anyway.
Ludwig on the other hand returned to stirring. At least they were almost ready to put it in the oven. Arthur’s little accident wouldn’t cause an issue and the cake would be cooling by the time Francis got up. Everything was going great considering. That was until two arms snaked their way around his waist.
“Arthur?” He asked, praying that his guess was right. If not, then there went their surprise.
“Non,” came a sleepy voice, “what are you two doing up so early?”
Before Ludwig could reply, Francis reached around him, scooping some cake batter onto his finger and giving it a taste. “Mmm, lemon. My favorite,” Francis hummed, his arm returning to its previous position.
“It was supposed to be a surprise,” Ludwig groaned.
“Well, I am surprised and very grateful. Angleterre even got wounded for it. So romantic.”
“You just like laughing at his misery.”
Francis chuckled. “That too.”
“What are you doing up?” Arthur asked as he returned to the kitchen.
“Your painful howling woke me, then I smelled something good so I ultimately decided to get up.”
“Arthur is the pan ready?” Ludwig cut in, knowing a fight was most likely about to break out between the other two.
“Yes, as is the oven. Is the batter good?”
“Yep, pass me the pan?”
Soon enough the cake was in the oven, the three lovers retreated to the living room and settled onto the couch (or in Francis’ case, settled on Ludwig’s lap). “Only you Angleterre could get burned preheating the oven,” Francis teased, looking over the Brit’s now bandaged hand.
“Oh shove it. I got this because I was trying to do something nice for you.”
Ludwig let out a tired sigh, “Don’t you two start. Can’t we have one morning without your bickering and just cuddle like normal people?”
“Aww is Luddy feeling neglected?” Francis purred.
“I-I didn’t say…”
“Don’t tease him,” Arthur barked, taking hold of the German’s hand, “don’t let him get to you.”
“Oh please, like you’re any better.”
“That’s it,” Ludwig roared. He took Francis’s face in his hands and pulled him in for a hard kiss, He repeated such action with Arthur as well. “There. Maybe that’ll shut you two up.”
And it did. Both of them were left slacked-jawed and flustered by the forwardness of Ludwig. Said man only smirked at his accomplishment, wrapping his arms around them.
Just when they had all gotten comfortable, the timer went off signaling the cake was ready. Arthur and Ludwig immediately headed into the kitchen and Francis followed close behind.
“We’ll let it cool for now, but can you get the icing?” Ludwig asked Arthur as he set the pan on the counter.
“Coming right up.”
Francis was left in the door frame as he watched the other two pace around the kitchen. His heart fluttered at the thought they were doing this all for him. Not that it seemed difficult for them, he knew Ludwig and even Arthur were experienced bakers who enjoyed the activity, but he still found it extremely sweet.
“Don’t eat the icing,” Ludwig reprimanded, pulling Francis out of his admirative daydream.
“I’m just taste-testing it. It’s good by the way.”
Ludwig only shook his head. “You have some...here...let me get it.” Arthur must have gotten some of the icing on the corner of his mouth as Ludwig walked over, wiping the area with his thumb and licking it. “You’re right it is good.”
Both were left blushing with soft smiles on their faces. Although he found both of them adorable, Francis couldn’t help but feel left out of the lovey-doviness. “May I help in the decorating?” Francis asked, sneaking up behind them.
Ludwig pouted slightly. “This whole thing was supposed to be a surprise.”
“Won’t it be fun to do it all together?”
Ludwig mulled it over, occasionally looking over to Arthur to say something, but he just shrugged. “I...I-I suppose...i-if you’re sure.”
“Bon!”
And so the rest of the morning the three of them huddled around the cake, fighting over icing flavours, colours, and designs.
“Francis gets the last say,” Ludwig concluded. Francis and Arthur had gotten into their fifth argument over icing, this time about which colour the flower-like details should be. Lucky for Ludwig’s sanity, these were the final touches.
“Fine,” Arthur huffed, handing Francis back the icing tube he took.
“Aww don’t pout Angleterre.”
“Shut up and finish your cake.”
Francis complied, but not before placing a quick kiss on the Englishman’s cheek as some form of apology. He plopped a swirl of yellow in each corner, humming away as he did so.
“Viola. It is done. See Angleterre, it looks perfectly fine!”
Arthur peeked over Francis’ shoulder. It actually looked really cute with the green and blue detailings atop the white base and considering the wide smile on Francis’ face, the birthday boy liked it too. Wasn’t that the most important part? “I guess so,” Arthur agreed begrudgingly.
“Let’s eat.”
“No, we need breakfast first,” Ludwig advised.
“But I’m starving,” Francis whined, clinging to Ludwig’s arm as he looked at him with big puppy dog eyes. They always managed to work on the German despite his stoic nature.
“Easy enough, we’ll just go out,” Arthur suggested, before Ludwig could be pulled in , “so in other words: go get dressed Francis.”
“Okay, Okay. Help me?” A wink that punctuated his words sent Arthur and Ludwig blushing once more. Would it be nice to get into what he was implying? Yes, but at the same time, it was getting late into the morning, they were all hungry, and they really didn’t want to deal with Francis complaining about that after the passion of the moment ended.
“No,” Ludwig and Arthur said in practical unison.
“Aww, you two are no fun.”

Hi 👋🏾 can I make a request where bts is filming for Run BTS and their child interrupts/ walks in the way of the camera to get to them.
Reaction: Their Child walks in while Run BTS
A/N: This one was such a cute request an idea. I’m soft for BTS with kids. I hope it turned out somehow as you imagined it to be. Take care everyone!- Eve
Word count: 2K Genre: Fluff
"달려라 방탄!", his dad cheered. Your son sat next to you with eyes as big as the universe. He was so fascinated by all the lights and people around him. And everyone seemed to be there for his dad and uncles. Today's episode was being filmed in a show kitchen. The perfect surrounding for his dad. He was a great cook, better than his mommy. Jin was standing in the middle of the set and watched the other six interested. "Why isn't Daddy cooking?" your son asked. "He is the judge today. He has to decide who made the best meal." you whispered back. "Because Daddy already is the best cook!" he smiled. Y/S/N watched them with great interest. Suddenly he saw how his dad winked at him and waved his hand. A sign to come over to him. He crouched down so that his uncles won’t see him. Once he arrived Jin also lowered down to his level "So, who do think is best so far? You can see everything a lot better." Your son thought about it and quickly answered "Uncle Namjoon is really bad at cutting things. But Uncle Yoongi is very good." he made a serious face. Jin copied his sons expression "Ahhh I see. I knew it! Thanks son. That helps me a lot." Satisfied Y/S/N toddled back to his mom. This procedure went on the entire cooking time. Your son was so happy, that his dad needed his help. "One minute left." A men shouted. "Y/S/N, come here." Jin opened his arms. He dashed through the crowd and was lifted up by his Father's arms. "This is my Sous-chef for today." Jin looked at his son. Even the last person now saw, that these two were Look-A likes. "He is going to help me judge your creations. So let's start."
June was the perfect time to pick Strawberries. So the Run BTS production team decided that is was time for them to visit a farm. It was Saturday, so it gave you the perfect opportunity to bring your daughter into the nature and have her dad around. "Dad, when do you know that a Strawberry is ready?" Y/D/N asked while the three of you made your way to the meeting point. Yoongi took her hand and put her on his shoulders "When they are big and red. Just like your boots. But if you are unsure, you can taste as much as you like." Unfortunately it started to drizzle just before they wanted to shoot. But everyone agreed that it didn't really mattered and started to film. "Y/D/N, let's go and search for Strawberries there." you pointed to an area a bit offside so that no one would be disturbed. She ran and squealed, finally being able to pick some fruits. The rain was getting more and more. But your daughter wasn't taking note of that. Her little head disappeared in the rows of plants. Her little fingers eagerly picked one Strawberry after another and placed them gently into the basket. Suddenly a big hand took the same berry she wanted to have. "I saw that one first." her dad's voice said. She looked up and saw him smiling at her. He opened an umbrella to protect his daughter from the rain. "Luckily you are wearing your boots. Mommy and daddy looked out for you." She showed him her little basket full of strawberries. "Do you want some?" she sweetly asked him. "The Min's are going to win, because you found so many, Y/D/N. Let's head back to get your prize."
"Cos Hoseok hurt his ankle, we decided to film today's episode inside. You are going to play different games. Such as charade and whispering games." the producer explained. You had to get a few things organized at home and asked Hobi if he could take your daughter with him. He was always excited to show of his little sunshine. So there was no second thought. Y/D/N was happily munching her cookies while wearing her big headphones and bopped her head to the music. The first rounds worked out quite well for her dad considering his injury. But when it came to "Guess the word", a game such as charade, your daughter was able to see his struggle getting up and move around. She took of her headphones and rushed to his side. "Daddy, you can whisper the word on my ear and I will show it. Okay?" she looked at him with big puppy eyes. "Thank you, Sunshine. I will tell you the first word then." You daughter started to spin around and pretend to shoot out something out of her palms. "Iron man! Ballerina! Ice skater?" her uncle’s shouted. "Nooooo. Shhhhhhhh. Shhhhh. Trallalala" the little girl continued to spin and jump around while making these noises. Hobi layed on the floor, holding his belly and laughed like crazy. "Sunshine, let's do the next word. They don’t get it." With every new word it was clear, that she inherited the Jung-sound machine gene. After the round was over everyone was in the floor grasping for air. "Dad, they are no fun to play with. You and Mommy are better in guessing." "You've done a great job, Y/D/N. Your uncles are just a bit slow."
Because your kindergarten had a cleaning day, you asked Namjoon to take your son with him. They had to film a new Run BTS episode, but considering that it was going to be in an interactive museum it was perfect. Your son was over the moon once he heard that he could spend the day with his dad and uncles. "Promise me to stay quiet and to behave yourself, okay Y/S/N? Daddy has to work." you asked him as you zipped up his bright blue jacket. "I will, Mommy. I'm going to go the dinosaurs. Rwarrr!" he made a claw with his tiny hands and clenched his teeth’sy. "Woaaah, what is that? A new dangerous type of dinosaur?" Namjoon smiled and took your sons hand. "Are you ready buddy?" Your son nodded excitedly and you gave him a peck on the cheek. "Have fun you two." Namjoon picked his little boy up and quickly kissed you. "Bye Mommy." An hour into the shot Y/S/N was getting a bit bored. Namjoon arranged a small table for him with pencils and a colouring book. He looked over to his uncles running around in the big museum hall. A man behind a camera counted down the time and quickly all seven of them gathered. Your son didn't understood what the men was telling his dad. But he spotted a sign with a silhouette of a dinosaur on it. He put on his little green backpack and ran as fast as his little feet would carry him. "Daddy. Look! Can we go there?" Namjoon was surprised by his son’s loud voice and crouched down to him. "Were do you want to go?" Your son pointed to the sign. "We have a break soon and then we can see the dinosaurs, okay buddy?" The men behind the camera spoke up, "A location change would be great. So what do you think Y/S/N? Shall we see what the dinosaurs are doing?" The little boy squealed of joy and took Namjoon's and Yoongi's hand who was standing next to him. "Come on, uncles! I will help you! I'm an expert!" he pulled their hands. "Then you can join Uncle Jin's team. The other ones have your dad."
"For mother's day, you are going to create a beautiful present. Here are all the utensils and materials you can use." the staff member announced. Your son was sitting quietly next to Manager Sejin. He played with his toy cars and drove them over Sejins thighs back to his. A few minutes have passed as Y/S/N noticed how his dad seemed to struggle. Everyone else was getting their materials, but he was just standing there and brooded. "Can I help my dad?" he asked Sejin. "Why are you so much like him? " he chuckled and asked the producer. "Y/S/N you can go. But be careful because of the cables." The little boy walked over to his dad determinated to help him. He tucked his shirt and Jimin looked down "Baby Mochi, what are you doing here?" he picked his son up and stroked the hair out of his face. "I wanted to help you. We can do something for Mommy together." Jimin kissed his chubby cheek and they started to collect materials. "Mommy likes flowers and she always has flowers on the table. Can we do something with flowers?" Y/S/N asked. "Sure, flowers sound perfect." After they got everything they needed, Jimin sat down and placed his son on his lap. Concentrated both of them tied together the flowers and nicely arranged them. "I think we should not add too much glitter, dad. Mommy doesn't like that." he seriously said. Jimin laughed "I know, Baby Mochi. Believe it or not, I know your mommy longer than you." The little boy turned around, "But you didn't know what you wanted to make before I helped you." Off screen Sejin laughed, because your son resembled Jimin in every way possible.
"Daddy, why didn't we took Tannie with us?" your daughter asked from the backseat of the car. "There are a lot of other animals. So Tannie would not have felt comfortable, sweetie. We will see him again in the evening. Mommy looks after him", Taehyung explained as he took the last crossing and parked the car. "Noble Miss Kim, we have arrived. If I may take your purse?" Y/D/N giggled and jumped out of the car and ran to the production team. "As you can see, today's episode will take place at an animal shelter. Each of you will be assigned a different enclosure. Afterwards you will receive your tasks." "Y/D/N, Daddy has to go change. Please stay here and wait. I'm going to pick you up, okay?" Tae bended down to your daughter. "Okay", she pouted. He ruffled her hair and disappeared. "Unnie, I have to go to the toilet. But you don’t have to come with me. I can already go alone." the little girl said and ran off. While she was on her way back she heard her favourite sound in the world "Guinea pigs!" she screeched and followed the squealing noises. "Ohhhh so many piggies. Hello. My name is Y/D/N." she greeted every single one of them. Because it was an open-air enclosure she opened the fence door and sat down in the middle. She took a kohlrabi leaf and started to feed the Guinea pigs. Y/D/N was so engrossed by her new friends that she didn't heard the sound of a clicking camera. "I think Tannie will be a little jealous when he sees that." her dad chuckled and leaned over the fence. "Can you take another picture? I want to show him and mommy all the different colours." she grabbed for a brown and black one. "Then let's have a photo shoot. One the count of three. Smile!"
"No Mommy! Enough! It's sticky.", your daughter complained. "The sun is shining too bright, Y/D/N. You will get sunburn. Please stay still." you said as you rubbed the sunscreen on her arms and face. "But Dad isn't wearing any." she whined. You glared at Jungkook and he quickly took the bottle and smeared the cream messily over his face. "Tada! See, now Dad is also protected. And we still look cool." Your daughter laughed "Everything is in your hair now." "The water will wash it off. Are you ready, sweetheart?" he opens his arms and lifted the girl up. "Be careful you two!" you shouted after them. "Yeah." Jungkook and your daughter screamed back in unison. The production team of Run BTS planned a water park episode. And because fun and adventure was second nature to your daughter, just like her dad, they allowed to have her in. "Y/D/N, we have to slide down as fast as we can, okay? We have to win against Uncle Jimin." Jungkook placed his daughter onto his lap and crawled forward to the mounting. "Have fun, Uncle Jimin." she waved and smiled to him. "How is your mother handling two of you?" he mumbled. With a big splash they landed in the water. With a joyful laughter Y/D/N came to surface and paddled to the pool edge. Jungkook never left her side and gently placed her on the grass. "Off to the next station, daddy!" she excitedly jumped and ran. "What are you feeding her JK? She is like a tornado." Suga pointed out. "Daaaad! Uncles! Can we do that?" your daughter shouted and pointed to group of people, who were gliding over the water with an enormous speed while sitting on an enlarged rubber ring. "Sure, let's go!"

Dark Fairytale 🍄
Requested by @naomi-from-paleontology
Summary: Marinette steps into the center of a ring of mushrooms and is spirited away to a strange world with Felix as their guide.
I’m ether thinking about “Spirited Away” for obvious reasons or something like “the Wizard of Oz”. Maybe I can combine these two. And then suddenly I'm thinking about “Alice in Wonderland” ... Jep, I don’t know anymore ... welp ...
Let’s see how it will turn out!
Hope you enjoy!
————
Don’t go into the woods. Don’t stroll around. Don’t follow strange animals. Don’t do this. Don’t do that. Don’t. Don’t. Don’t.
Marinette was sick of hearing these. Ever since she was a small child she have the greatest adventures when her parents weren’t around. Fairy’s. Demons. Speaking Animals. Mermaids. Trolls. Sometimes even dragons!
But every time she tried to tell and show her parents nothing was there anymore. At first, her parents found her imagination great. But the older she gets, the lesser they liked it. And with time comes the ban. Marinette was no longer allowed to go into the woods. She was supposed to stay near her house. Forced to ignore her friends just beneath the surface. Forced to change herself. Forced to be someone else.
Needless to say she doesn’t liked that.
But the tip of the iceberg came when her parents decided that she should marry someone. Adrien Agreste. Someone who is exactly as oblivious as her parents. Who just thought about himself and his point of view. Someone she knew she could never get as happy as with her friends.
So she made a decision.
~~
She pants. Ever so often she turned around just to make sure that nobody follows her. She ran deeper and deeper into the forest. She follows the voices from her friends and they led her to a glade.
She stumbles right into the opening. When she fell to the ground, she saw some toadstools. As if they were circling the clearing all around.
How strange.
Somewhere deep down in her memory she rememberd a fairytale that began with circle of mushrooms. But she can’t remember how it goes.
In that moment she hit the ground.
~~
Snickering.
Strange. Marinette is very sure that she is not giggling. In fact, she should be alone. Maybe she hit her head? But there’s more snickering. Possibly she should push herself up from the ground and look who’s there. Perhaps it is one of her friends.
As she sits up she stares right into piercing green eyes. Which sit in a head full of black fur. She blinks twice.
Another snicker emerged from that strange creature. She tilted her head.
“A cat?”
But there was more. No simple housecat had such a wide smile. And the eyes held an intelligence wich isn’t normal. She shivered. These cat where nothing like her former friends.
“Who are you?”
If possible the smile got even wider. The cat stretched and strolls a few steps away. It stopped and looked back to Marinette, then to the entrance of the forest and back to Marinette. As if she should follow.
Marinette blinked again. “You know what? I have no idea what’s going on but fine, I follow you.” Marinette stands up and nods. The cat happily waging its tail and started walking again.
From time to time it’s checking if Marinette is still behind him. As some time passed and the sun is beginning to meet the horizon they entered a small colourful village.
The cat leads her past stores, a fountain, a church, the townhall -if she’s not misled- and beautiful flower fields. At the end of the village the cat walks to a lovely house with an large garden. At the door he stops one last time. He looked back to Marinette and puts a paw at the door. And then he meowed. It sound as false and irritating as the whole story.
“Really?” Marinette raised an eyebrow. “But fine.” She knocked and waited.
She heared footsteps at the other side of the door. As the front door swings open she looked into the face of a young man. The ice blue eyes held something familiar.
“Plagg, why didn’t you ...” he trailed of as he noticed her. “Marinette? Marinette is it really you? Oh Plagg, where did you find her?” With joy he jumped to her and hugged her.
“Should I know you? You obviously knew me, so I guess I should?”
“Marinette, it’s me. Felix! We played together as kids. Don’t you remember?”
“Not really, sorry.” she said with an apologetic smile.
His smile dropped for a second only to come back at full force a moment later.
“Then let us refresh your memory! Tomorrow. For now, come in and eat dinner with me.”
He took her hand and led her inside.
~~
The next morning Felix guided her to a small spring. The pink cherry trees were in full bloom. Some of the flowers slowly fell down to the water surface.
“What am I supposed to see here?”
With a soft smile Felix only puts an finger to his lips and points to his ear. She concentrates her senses at the sounds around her. Just when she thought she would never hear something, she heard a little giggle. She looked in the direction of that sound. At that moment she spotted colourful little lights. The first moment she thought of fireflys but quickly she corrects herself.
“These are Fairies!” her eyes grow wide.
The little fairies came closer and closer. Some of them buzzed around her. A very brave one approached her and touched her cheek. She giggled and flew back to her sisters.
“Felix! It is amazing! Can we stay a little? Please?”
Felix smiles and nodded.
~~
The next day Felix led her to a graveyard. Today Plagg come along.
“What will you show me here?”
“Demons!” he said with sparkle in his eyes.
Marinette opened her mouth, shakes her head and shuts her mouth again. She will find out soon enough. As they were in the middle Felix stops.
“Plagg, now!”
With a big grin Plagg starts to shake. His contours became blurred. Now he’s a cat shaped black smoke. With piercing and shining green eyes and sparkling sharp white teeth. Little wisps of green smoke trailed of his body. On each cheek he grow one long whiskers, black at the beginning and neon green at the end.
Just as Marinette wanted to say something, Felix whistles. Everwhere behind tombstones, the shadows began to move.
More and more creatures, no demons she corrects herself, began floating towards her. She took a step back.
“Don’t be afraid. They are friendly. Most, at least.”
“Felix!”
He snickered. “I’m serious. They won’t harm you, I swear.”
Despite everything, Marinette had a nice day with demons in the cemetery.
~~
“What will you show me today Felix?”
“I thought we can go to the beach.”
“Oh ... I thought ... Nevermind. Let’s go!”
She linked arms with Felix and they walked down to the ocean. They took a little walk along the beach. When Felix led them around the next corner they reached a bay. Palm trees provide shades. Some rocks break through the water surface and seagulls are sitting in the trees.
It is a beautiful and quiet place.
Felix conjures a picnic basket from somewhere and smiles.
“Come here, sweetheart. I packed something, let us have lunch.”
“With pleasure!” Marinette smiled.
They searched for a shady spot and made themselves comfortable. After some time she heard something.
“Felix what is ...”
“Shhhhh! Just watch!” he said with a wink.
She notices movement on the water surface. Every now and then glittering scales break through the surface. Suddenly a bunch of mermaids appear and group around the rocks. They chatted happily.
“Mermaids!” shout Marinette.
The group of girls startled and looked over to the pair. Marinette claps her hands above her mouth. Some of the girls trailed away but one had a curios look in her eyes. She chirped and receives approval sounds.
The little Mermaid approaches the shore and in a sing-song voice asked: “Marinette?”
Marinettes eyes went wide. She glanced at Felix. “You know me? That means I was here before. When?”
“About two decades ago. We were still kids. We three had amazing days back then. Playing here in the bay. You two learning how to swim. Picknicks. And suddenly it stopped. Felix came by from time to time but you never showed up after that last day. We didn’t know what happened to you and we just hoped that you were alright and that you will show up someday. And there you are. Grown up. Beautiful. But still the same Marinette from back when we were kids.”
“I .... I don’t ... know what to say. I can’t remember much from my childhood. My parents wouldn’t let me go away from the house but apparently I sneaked away? I ....” she huffed. “I just don’t know anymore. Give me time. Maybe I will remember but even if not, we still can make new ones. Okay?”
The mermaid smiled wide. “Yes!”
“But not now. Felix could we ... I think I need time to think about all of today’s events.”
She looked back to the little mermaid. “But I will come back. I promise!”
With that Marinette turned and rushed back to Felix's house.
~~
“Marinette? I want to show you one last thing. Maybe after what you will see today your memory will come back.”
With that Felix reaches out his hand. Marinette considered and took his hand. Whatever he wanted to show her it will be worth it. They walked up the hill and a strong breeze trailed around their bodies.
A big shadow flies over them. As Marinette looked up she saw a majestic dragon. She gasped. She wanted to say something but she heard only a crackling. But not loud for everyone’s ear, it’s just something inside her. Her vision went black. When she wakes up she finds herself in Felix embrace. A concerned look on his face.
“Felix? I think I remember. I finally remember everything. But how. Why now?”
“You were under a spell. I guess that’s your parents fault. I didn’t know exactly how to break it but I figured if I’d repeat your lost memory it will eventually come back. Seems like the dragon had the biggest impression on you. I’m a little bit offended that it was not me. But I’m just happy that I have my Marinette back.”
“Me too! I finally remember everything and now I know the reason why I could not stand it at home anymore. It’s because I missed something in my life and that was you. When the last weeks were any indicators, I want to be with you. I think I fell for you over the past few weeks. Felix? I don’t want to go back, I want to stay here.”
“I will never let you go away from me again. Live with me here and be happy. Let us be together for eternity in our beautiful own kingdom of magic.”
With that Felix leans in and kissed Marinette.
————
That’s it folks. That’s the second ‘dark’ fairytale prompt. I think it weren’t as dark as it should be supposed. I just had the need to write some ‘magic’ and fluff. If you want more story’s from that prompt list please let me know!
Wow, this story took me on a rollercoaster. So many ideas, so little space. I was really close to the end of the story just when tumblr told me I hit the 'block' limit. So I need to compress some spaces. But I finally made it to an end and it got really long.
I hope you liked it. Please tell me what you think about this.
And have a wonderful day!

Picking Up The Pieces - Chapter 38
Mingyu x Reader
Chapter 38
Warnings: mentions of blood
It was a long, silent ride to the hospital and Mingyu just held your hand as tight as he could as he watched the paramedics work on stabilizing you. The panic he was feeling stayed bottled inside, he had to keep it together until he knew you would be okay. He looked over you once again, taking in the blood soaked clothing that was being cut away by the paramedics, revealing the deep bruising all over your body.
Everyone froze momentarily seeing the vast extent of the bruises, not one inch of regular coloured skin visible. The paramedics quickly exchanged a concerned look and glanced towards Mingyu who’s eyes were tracing over each bruise.
“Stay calm, okay? We’ll fix her up, just breath,” one of them said, sensing the anger that was rising in your boyfriend. Mingyu looked up and nodded, wincing as he saw your body jolt under the touch of the medic.
“Please save her....she’s all I’ve got,” he pleaded, a tear rolling down his cheek.
Just then the ambulance pulled into the hospital and a flurry of camera flashes erupted as soon as the doors were opened, stunning the medics. They quickly covered you with a blanket and rushed inside, Mingyu never letting go of your hand, ignoring the bombardment of questions from the reporters.
Once inside, the medics quickly ushered you into the emergency room and Mingyu finally had to let go.
“We’ll come right back once the doctor gives us an update, just wait here,” a medic said over his shoulder as the doors to the emergency room shut behind him. Flashes surrounded Mingyu as hospital security tried their best to push reporters away from the door. He looked down at his hands. They were covered in your blood and began to tremble. Mingyu could feel himself crumbling and sank to the floor.
The rest of the boys were racing to the hospital and pushed through the crowd, ignoring all of the flashes. They could see Mingyu slumped on the floor and pushed forward, needing to comfort their brother.
“How did they find out?” Hoshi yelled, pushing a reporter away from his face.
Finally, they broke free and got into the hospital, slowing as they got closer to Mingyu. They gingerly walked towards him, noticing his trembling, blood-soaked hands.
“Mingyu, she’ll be okay,” Seungcheol whispered gently, sitting down beside him.
Mingyu couldn’t hold it in any longer and began to sob uncontrollably. Seungcheol quickly pulled him in for a hug, trying his best to comfort him. The boys’ hearts all breaking seeing how hurt and worried Mingyu was.
Seungkwan and Vernon were doing their best to hold back their tears, but you were one of their best friends. They knew how much you meant to Mingyu and how much he was hurting, but they were in just as much pain. Soon they sat down beside Mingyu, soft sobs coming from each of them.
“Seungcheol, can I talk to you,” their manager said as he arrived. Seungcheol nodded and got up quietly, Wonwoo taking his place pulling Mingyu into a tight hug.
Jihoon sat down in a chair, looking out towards the flashing lights outside the hospital. He sighed, rubbing his temples, “How did they know where we’d be? How did they find out!?”
“Can’t they just have an ounce of respect...someone is hurt and all they care about is getting their damn pictures...” Minghao said angrily.
Joshua had been silent, scrolling through his phone. “They’re already writing articles...” he said quietly.
That was the final straw for Jeonghan. He couldn’t believe that they were being so insensitive and he stormed towards the doors. When they opened he yelled, causing everyone to stop and look at him.
“STOP IT! Our friend is hurt and fighting for her life and all you care about is your damn pictures! How could you be so heartless!?! Think about if this was your friend, your sister, your family member! Would you want someone shoving a camera in your face as you are hurting! GIVE US SOME FUCKING PRIVACY!”
Silence fell across the crowd of reporters and Jeonghan stormed back inside, but not a single flash went off. The boys watched, wide-eyed as he walked back in, the strong act crumbling with each step he took before he collapsed into a chair crying.
Dino wiped his own tears away and quickly sat down beside his friend.
“Shhh, it’s okay. That was amazing. Shhhhh shhhh,” he whispered, trying to comfort Jeonghan.
Silence fell and the only sounds that were heard were soft sobs coming from the boys. Seungcheol and their manager returned and Jihoon, who was trying to keep himself together, got up to talk to them.
“What do we do now?” he questioned.
“Well...Jeonghan’s outburst has already made its way online, but the fans are supporting him and calling the reports disgusting. The company has already put out a statement explaining the situation and is asking for privacy. You’re schedules for the next while are all cancelled. They realise how hard this is for all of you and don’t want to force you to keep going. The fans were already asking for that and trending it as soon as the first picture of the ambulance hit the internet.”
Jihoon nodded, not being able to really say anything more. He returned to his seat with Seungcheol following and the waiting game began.
It had been hours and the boys had had no update on your condition. Dino had fallen asleep using Jeonghan’s lap as a pillow and Mingyu had blocked everyone out, sitting like a shell on the floor. Seungkwan was pacing around worriedly, while Vernon just sat with his head in his hands. Dokyeom and Jun had mustered up the energy to go and get food for everyone. Wonwoo still sat right beside Mingyu, arm around his shoulder for support, but said nothing. Hoshi kept talking to himself, panicking and Minghao was trying to calm him down. Jihoon and Seungcheol kept monitoring the internet alongside their manager, making sure that nothing was being spread that shouldn’t be. Joshua had been tasked with calling your family and had spent hours on the phone with your mom, promising to update her as soon as they knew anything. Each of the boy’s was doing their best to keep it together in their own ways, but all of them couldn’t help but worry.
After six hours of sitting and waiting, a doctor finally emerged and the boys all jumped up with pleading eyes, waiting for an update.
The doctor sighed taking in the looks of worry on each of the boys’ faces. “I assume you are here for Miss Y/n?”
“H...how...is she?” Mingyu stuttered, fear filling his voice.
“She’s finally stable. However, she has lost a lot of blood and had extensive internal and external damage. Externally, Y/n had numerous broken bones including ribs, collar bone as well as fractured bones in her face. Internally, there was a lot of damage. Due to abdominal trauma, Y/n has a ruptured spleen and required surgery to repair it. She also suffered from a punctured lung due to the broken rib. We were able to repair these injuries, but she will have a long road to recovery. I have to be honest and say that the extent of her injuries are vast. She is very lucky she was rescued when she was as I do not know how much longer she could have continued on.”
“Can...we see her?” Wonwoo questioned.
“At the moment she is in a medically induced coma to help her recoup from the initial surgery and is unconscious. I am only allowed to let relatives in to visit her,” the doctor replied.
Mingyu spoke up, “She does not have blood relatives here. We are her family....please sir...”
The doctor looked around before Joshua added, “She’s from America sir, her mother is on her way to the airport, but won’t be here for another 24 hours. She can’t be alone, can perhaps a few of us sit with her...so she’s not alone?”
“Only 3 people may go in, okay?”
“Thank you....thank you so much,” Vernon replied.
“She’s currently in the ICU, room 4,” the doctor said. “She’s got a long road ahead, but she’s a fighter...stay strong for her, okay?”
“Yes sir, thank you,” Seungcheol said as Mingyu was already making his way to the elevators.
Seungkwan and Vernon quickly following behind them.
“Just let them go,” their manager said as a few of the boys began to follow. “Those three are the closest with Y/n...you will all get a chance to see her, but let them go for now...”
There was a big sigh of relief that washed over the remaining members, knowing that you were going to be okay was enough.
“I’ve booked out guest suites in the hotel across the road...why don’t you all go get some rest? I’ve had a call from the police and tomorrow they will want to get a statement from all of you about the situation, okay?”
Nodding the ten boys, tiredly dragged themselves over to the hotel. The remaining group of reporters watching, but not documenting. Jihoon was stopped by a little girl who tugged on his sweater. Her eyes wide as he knelt down beside her. The rest of the boys stopped and watched curiously.
“Is your friend okay?” she asked quietly. Jihoon smiled tiredly at her and nodded, causing her eyes to light up. “That makes me happy. I made her a card to hope she feels better, can you give it to her?”
Jihoon looked down at the card the little girl held out for him, raising his eyes to find her mother, who looked at him kindly.
“Thank you sweetheart. I will make sure she gets this, it will make her feel much better.”
“Thank you,” she squealed as she wrapped her tiny arms around his neck in a hug. Jihoon was shocked at first, but slowly wrapped his arms around the little girl, finally feeling more at peace after the chaos of the day.
Once again he whispered a quiet thank-you to her and she ran back to her mother waiting. The boys were all speechless and each took a turn looking at the card from the little girl.
“She’s going to be okay,” they all thought and made their way inside the hotel.

BTS REACTION: your BF doesn’t want you anymore and BTS, who’ve been your friend for a long time and have been crushing on you, comfort you
JIN:
As soon as Jin saw your messaging saying that something had happened between you and your boyfriend he rushed out of the dorms and ran to your apartment as fast as he could. When he arrived the door was unlocked and he found you on the bathroom floor, your head buried in your hands, sobbing loudly.
“Hey Y/N what happened?” he asked, voice heavily laced with concern.
He wrapped his arms around your fragile body and held you whispering ‘it’s going to be ok’ and ‘don’t cry’ every so often until you calmed down. Once you were calm you told him everything that had happened from your boyfriend canceling dates last minute to him saying that you weren’t good enough for him anymore. Jin sat listening and was in utter disbelief as to how someone could treat you like that. He thought that if he was your boyfriend he would never say or do those things, that rather he would tell you how much he loved you every single day. But he knew now wasn’t the right time to bring up his feelings for you. His main priority right now was you.
“Why don’t we go cook your favourite food? Food always makes you happy.”
He wanted to do anything to make you smile again.
One day, he thought. One day I’ll tell her how I feel and I’ll show her how a real princess should be treated.
SUGA:
“Hello? Y/N what’s up?” he said as he picked up his phone and held it to his ear. His heart broke the second he heard a small cry escape from your mouth.
“Y/N? Y/N are you crying? What happened?”
“He broke up with me…” you said whispering quietly.
“HE WHAT? Y/N what did he say to you?”
The line was silent.
“Y/N…..”
You told him word for word what your boyfriend, or now ex-boyfriend, had sent to you. The more he heard, the angrier Yoongi became. His hands were in fists and his jaw was clenched tightly.
“What an idiot! I can’t believe he did that to you, especially over text! I really can’t believe it..”
You let out a small chuckle. You couldn’t believe it either.
“That ratbag doesn’t deserve you Y/N. I wish you would stop dating those stupid guys and date me instead. I love you so much yet you don’t even see it! I could treat you so much better….”
You were both in shock. Yoongi had just realized what he had said and felt instant regret. You couldn’t believe that he had felt this way towards you and never said anything. If he had said something earlier it would’ve saved you from all this heartbreak.
“Shit- Y/N I’m so sorry, forget I said tha-”
“Yoongi,” you said but he ignored you and continued apologizing saying that he had just messed everything up.
“Yoongi!” you said a bit louder catching his attention. “I love you too…”
J-HOPE:
You and Hoseok had planned to meet in the dance studio so that he could help you practice some new choreo you had just learned. You were already waiting inside when Hoseok arrived. You heard your phone buzz beside you and as soon as you read the message you stomach sunk. You could feel the tears well up in your eyes but you didn’t want Hobi to see you like this so you ran out of the room.
“Yo Y/N wha-” he was cut off by you pushing past him and running away. He stood there shocked for a moment before he started chasing after you, following you through the corridors until he saw you disappear into the toilets. He was confused and concerned as to why you suddenly ran off.
Maybe she just reaaally had to go to the bathroom? he thought but after you didn’t come out for 10 minutes he knew that wasn’t what had happened. He really wanted to check on you but he was a bit embarrassed about going to the girls’ bathroom.
Come on, Hoseok! You have to make sure she’s ok! You can do this! He gave himself a small pep talk before walking in, with his hands covering his eyes of course.
“Y/N what’s going on? Are you ok? What happened?” he asked frantically.
“Hobi…..”
He could hear the sadness in your voice and suddenly felt overwhelmingly sad too.
“It’s ok, you can uncover your eyes….”
“Yah! Who’s making my buttercup sad like this?”
Tears were pouring out of your eyes, your makeup was smudged and your shirt wet from all your crying. His instant reaction when he saw you like this was to cheer you up so he started doing aegyo, dancing, acting silly- basically doing anything to cheer you up which eventually led to you joining in and feeling much better.
“I never want to see my buttercup sad like that again ok? I’ll make you the happiest person in the world.” He whispered in your ear as he held you close.
RM:
He could tell that something was off. You weren’t laughing like you usually were. You didn’t try to make any jokes or even engage in conversation. You were constantly staring off into the distance and every so often he would see tears well up in your eyes. He couldn’t stand seeing you like this. He knew he had to talk to you and make you feel better so he grabbed your arm and pulled you off to his room.
“Y/N I know something is wrong, just tell me.”
He sat and listened while you explained how badly your boyfriend had been treating you and that he had broken off things between you. You told him how you felt like you were never enough for anyone and that you weren’t surprised that he didn’t love you anymore.
“No one is ever going to love me” you exclaimed while crying.
“You never know Y/N…. Someone very close to you may be in love with you but you wouldn’t even know it.”
He wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled your body into his. You rested your head in the crook of his neck and eventually drifted off as all the crying had tired you out.
A small smile appeared on his face as he looked at you resting peacefully, you chest slowly rising and falling, lips slightly parted, hair falling in front of your eyes, clinging to him tightly.
“I love you Y/N. Please don’t be sad over that fool. I’ll be here waiting for you.”
JIMIN:
Your boyfriend of 2 years just broke up with you. He said that he had found another girl and that he didn’t love you anymore. After you heard this you didn’t know what to do with yourself anymore so you just decided to lay in your bed and cry for the rest of the day. After a few hours, you had passed out from crying so hard and laid sprawled out on your bed. What you had forgotten to take into consideration was that Jimin was supposed to come over to your house for a movie night.
When he entered your house, he found it strange that you weren’t sitting ready on the couch with popcorn, soda and a ton of blankets like you usually would.
Maybe she forgot and went out with her boyfriend? A frown spread across his face as he thought about you and your boyfriend being together as he had been in love with you for the past 3 years, you just never noticed.
He entered your bedroom to see if you were there and found you sound asleep. He was about to wake you when he saw the tear stains on your sheets and the makeup on your face smudged. He felt a pang in his heart. He hated seeing you upset. Immediately, helaid next to you, pulling up your blanket, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you close.
You suddenly felt a presence next to you, a familiar smell lingering in your nose.
“Jimin?” you asked confused.
“Shhhhh Y/N it’s ok now. Go back to sleep and rest. We’ll talk later.”
V:
It was raining and Taehyung was on his way back from the store to pick up some noodles for himself and the others. The rain was getting heavier, it was getting colder and it was getting darker. As he was walking, he saw a figure slowly trudging along in the distance. When he got closer he saw that the person didn't have an umbrella or even a jacket on.
Damn that person looks so familiar…who is it?
Then it hit him. It was YOU.
He immediately ran to you to see what you were doing.
“Y/N! Why are you out here in the rain alone? C’mon lets go back to the dorms.”
When you got inside he took you to his room, gave you a towel and a spare change of his clothes.
“You must be freezing!”
Suddenly, you started crying. You couldn’t help it. Seeing Tae actually care for you made you so sad because your own boyfriend never did that. In fact, he had just broken your heart by ending your relationship.
Tae panicked as he thought he did something wrong.
“Y/N? IM SO SORRY WHAT DID I DO? ARE YOU OK?”
“I’m sorry Tae, you didn’t do anything….”
“Then why are you crying?”
“He broke up with me.”
He sat down next to you and patted your hair as you told him what had happened. Once you were done he started telling lame jokes, making cute faces, hugging you, doing anything that would make you smile or laugh again.
“Your clothes are still wet Y/N go change.”
You listened to what he said and went to the bathroom to change. When you got back you laid next to Tae in his bed.
“Wow. You look super cute in my clothes, I should let you wear them more often,” he said as a rosy pink colour dusted your cheeks.
JUNGKOOK:
He was shocked when you first told him. He didn’t know how to react; how should he comfort you? Should he ask questions? Was this his perfect chance to confess his feelings? He was quite flustered. He was so deep in thought that he didn’t realise how long he had just sat therre in silence.
“Sorry I shouldn’t have bothered you with this,” you said as he got up to leave.
“Y/N wait I’m sorry!” He grabbed onto your wrist and pulled you back down onto his lap. You started to blush like crazy, turning bright red, from the position you were now in. He leaned in close and whispered in your ear.
“I’m sorry I just didn’t know how to react.” He paused for a moment.
“You know what F**k it. I think it’s finally time to tell you something I’ve been hiding for a long time. Y/N I like you. No actually, I love you. I hated seeing you with that ass. I can’t believe he’s such an idiot that he would let such a beautiful girl like you go. I promise I’ll make sure you never get hurt again.”
Now you were the one who was shocked.
“Jungkook I don’t know what to say…..”
“You don’t have to say anything,” he leaned in closer and planted a soft kiss on your lips.
“Damn where did all this confidence come from?”
I hope you liked this post! Thank you to the person who sent in the request, also if you need someone to talk to you can always message me on my blog @ineednamjesus or any of the other admins! Stay strong <3

Joker x Reader Deadly Voice Part 36
Ok, I believe the next part is ready.
I’ve messed around with this part a lot - chopping, changing and adding as i wasn’t entirely sure what was happening now, later, never etc. so if anything doesn’t make sense or seems out of place I apologise!
(I actually put some Joker in! I know CRAZY! Sorry - I get a bit carried away some times so I apologise he is not in it as much as I want! The next few parts should always have Joker in, hopefully for a bit longer?)
Enjoy! :)

I pondered the visit from Frost for the rest of the day. The whole thing had seemed rather odd, but I also knew the chances of ever getting any answers about it were slim so I eventually let it slide - attempting to get on with my more pressing worries.
This was quite easy in fact due to a rather odd phone call I received a few days later from a man very insistent that I needed to accept his proposal of a job offer. Having submitted so many applications I was at a loss at to which this one was and whether I had even gone for an interview yet. This was soon cleared up upon further questioning the very frantic man where it soon became apparent to me that I hadn’t even applied to the position.
I was even more surprised when I found the actual position wasn’t even to be a performer at the club, but was in fact to run the club in a prime spot in the Gotham night life area. At this information I could feel my jaw literally hanging open and a thousand questions rattled through my head.
How was this possible? I had never applied for this job so how did he find me? And what on Earth made this person think that I was qualified to run a business? Sure I had run my family’s but that was without any formal training or qualification - and I never even put that experience on my CV. There was something fishy about this and I was becoming more and more certain it was a scam – especially because of how desperate the man was to hear an affirmation from me.
Many times throughout the phone conversation I attempted to apologise to the rather nervous sounding man and turn the offer down, however, the man on the other end never seemed content at this answer and refused to let it drop. Eventually - out of sheer exhaustion of the situation – I agreed to meet him at the club in question to discuss exactly what was happening – and to prove to myself that this was real.
As I followed the address to the club there was a large part of me that was certain I wouldn’t find anything there, so I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the door to find a very new-looking club. I examined the exterior, it didn’t appear to have any obvious name on the front of house and from the outside was relatively subtle, the outside painted completely black except for the door which was a bright orange with purple accents. There wasn’t single dent in the door or a chip out of any of the paint work and it all looked new and fresh.
I knocked on the door but there was no response. Maybe this was the scam? He’d give me a real address but never show? I tried the door anyway and, to my surprise, I found it unlocked. Probably against my better judgement, I stepped in, walking down a long dark corridor lined with posters of new and old bands alike, but not in the pealing-off-old-advert-way where no one had ever been bother to remove them, but in a sort of retro decoration.
Eventually it opened up into the main club room. Unlike my club – which had a rather old fashioned layout with plenty of seating areas and a relatively small dance floor - this one was almost empty of tables and booths except the few that lined the walls on raised platforms. The colour scheme seemed to be dark purple and bright orange throughout, the walls all painted purple, the accents the vibrant orange.
Littered around the room were supporting square pillars that matched the shade of the walls but were then able to be illuminated by bands of lights which ran alone each side. I glanced to my left to see a huge DJ system that looked to be made of the newest kit, but even that didn’t dwarf the even larger stage that sat behind it which could have supported a whole broadway production.
As I stepped onto what I believed to be the dance floor I noticed that the floor was interspersed with large tiles of floor lights which would glow a bright orange when the club came alive. What surprised me the most was that my shoes didn’t stick to the floor as I walked.
This club really was brand new.
I moved further into the room, now glancing through the forest of pillars to my right, my eyes falling onto the bar that was up on a dais against the back wall.
The back wall was made of glasses, bottles and mirrors. The bar itself was a deep purple with orange trimmings to match the rest of the room and, hovering directly above it, was an array of multi-coloured bottles. They probably contained spirits I had never heard of and I couldn’t help but admire how they would look pretty impressive when the lights of the night hit them.
There were a few stools that lined the front of the bar, all a brilliant orange colour that looked more like arm chairs due to the tall back rests. It was on one of these weird bar stools that I noticed a man perched with a folder laid out on the surface in front of him. I headed towards him, my heels clicking on the dance floor and the plastic lights. He spun the swivelling stool around at the sound of my footsteps, abandoning his papers and straightening up when to face me.
Upon recognising who I was he hastily slipped off his seat and hurried to meet me, catching me just before I stepped up onto the raised platform. “Hello Miss [L/N], it’s good to meet you in person.” He greeted in a rush, his voice sounding nervous I wondered why he looked so afraid of me.
“[Y/N], please.” I insisted taking the hand he offered me and shaking it with a smile in an attempt to get him to relax slightly
He smiled a bit in relief at my friendliness, “Nice to meet you [Y/N], I’m Gregory Hinchum – uh – Greg.” He said, shaking my hand back.
When we release each other’s hands there was an awkward pause where we both stood there, neither sure what was next. “Uh – shall we have a seat?” He asked timidly, gesturing a hand toward the stools. I nodded and we moved over to them - him returning to his folder whilst I tried to climb on the tall stool next to him with any grace I could manage.
“So – um,” Started Greg, fishing through his papers before him – whether this was an excuse to buy time for thinking or he was actually looking for something, I wasn’t sure - “You’ve uh- you’ve seen the place.” He muttered and if it hadn’t had been so silent around us I would have had to strain to hear him.
I nodded, waiting for him to go on, “So – uh – what do you think?” He asked, peering at me anxiously, still shuffling through the papers.
I was a bit taken aback by the question, “Uh –well – yeah - it’s nice.” I stammered, “Um- very - very new.” I added biting my lip at how lame that sounded.
“Oh good.” He said happily, completely ignoring my lame compliments. “So you’ll take the job?” He asked hopefully.
“Um – “I faltered, surprised at the rush to a final answer, “I’m not sure…” I trailed off, trying to silently confer to him that I didn’t think it was right for me.
“Oh?” His face fell at my look of uncertainty, “Why not?”
“It’s a bit intimidating.” I admitted. “I’m not sure I’m up to running it…”
“Nonsense!” He dismissed quickly, “I hear you’ve managed a club before! This’ll just be the same!”
“Uh – I’m not sure it will.” I insisted, brushing aside the fact he somehow knew I had run my own club previously. “I mean this place,” I gestured around at the room, “is so much nicer, probably way more expensive too – I don’t want to mess this up for you.” I explained.
“For me?” He questioned, puzzled before realisation brightened his face, “Oh no. This isn’t my club!” He said hastily.
“It’s not?” I asked confused.
“Oh no.”
“Then whose is it?”
Greg coloured brightly and I felt my heart sink slightly. Whose club was this? “Greg.” I said trying to stay calm by breathing evenly, “whose club is this?” I asked quietly but more firmly.
He didn’t say anything, just began pulling papers and examining them, before hastily shoving them to the back of the folder.
“Greg…” I warned, my tone dangerous.
“I’m sorry, I can’t –“ He was cut off as I abruptly grabbed his collar and yanked him towards me so that he was close to falling off his stool. “Tell me.” I snarled, teeth clenched.
“I-I can’t! He told – He said not to!” He cried. I stuck my hand in my coat pocket and withdrew my gun, placing the barrel up against the side of his head. I heard him whimper at the touch of the metal on his skin.
“Oh shhhhh Greg.” I purred, “Now that’s a pathetic noise for pathetic people isn’t?” I cooed, pouting at him. He shut up immediately.
“Now, I breathed, not breaking contact with his panicky eyes as I pressed harder into his skull with my gun. “Who’s. Club. Is. This.”
He didn’t answer straight away, his eyes darting around anywhere but at my own.
“Well?!” I demanded fiercely, shaking him with my grip on his shirt so his balance on the stool became even more precarious.
“The Joker!” He cried recoiling from my harsh tone and clenching his eyes shut from against the pain in his skull where I applied even more pressure.
“Err!” I growled, throwing him backwards so he nearly toppled off the stool if it wasn’t for the weird back rests on them, even then though, the stool wobbled dangerously.
I shoved myself off my stool and began to stride out of the club, anger powering my strides. Could I do anything without that damn clown interfering? What this another attempt to manipulate me - to get me under this thumb once more? Did he not remember what happened last time I ran one of his clubs?! And I was more than happy to do it again for him!
Suddenly there was the sound of a gun shot behind me and I heart skipped as I spun on my heels to towards the noise. Greg was now collapsed on the floor beneath his stool, a dark puddle forming from beneath him.
“So that’s a no?” Came a mocking tone from behind me followed by an echoing laugh. My heart dropped at the voice and I twisted towards the voice, already reaching back into my pocket for my weapon.
The Joker, still stepping out of the shadows, raised his hands in surrender when my hand dove into my jacket, his pistol handing from his index finger through the trigger guard. “Woooooow!” He cried dramatically, “No need to get violent!” He giggled at me and I could feel my heart rate increasing and I wasn’t sure if it was fear, shock, or the fact his purple coat was riding up his body naked torso so that his toned stomach was on clear show for me. “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours!” He cackled, reaching into his reptilian coat with his free hand and withdrawing a handful of knives, splaying them in a fan in his hand as he returned his arm back up again, an innocent look on his face.
I watched him suspiciously but decided to play along, copying his action and retrieving my ‘Deadly voice’ gun from my pocket and showing it to him. He grinned at my cooperation and then threw his weapons to the side – his eyes never leaving mine - so that it landed a good 10 feet away, clattering against the floor. I watched him warily, but followed suit.
“See?” He asked, his hands back up in surrender, “All friendly.”
I glared at him, “You want me to believe that’s all you’ve got on you?” I asked in annoyance.
“Feel free to search, Doll.” He quipped, “I’m up for as much touching as you want.” He grinned devilishly and I rolled my eyes at his childishness.
When he figured I wasn’t going to challenge him any further he lowered his arms down, partially hiding his torso again, though more skin that should be was on show thanks to his half open coat.
“Gotta say, I’m impressed doll, it’s like looking in a mirror sometimes.” He praised me and I felt the heat in my cheeks as I realised he must have been watching my exchange with the now-dead Greg. I remained silent, pleading the blush in my cheeks to go before he got any closer, trying to keep my scowl at him unwavering.
“So can we come to a deal now, Doll?” He asked pleasantly, ignoring my silence and giving me a sickly sweet smile. I cringed slightly, more from fear than repulsion – I think I preferred him angry – at least then I knew where I stood with him.
“To work for you? Not likely.” I scoffed, trying to remain strong and confident by holding onto my anger that was leaving me all to soon now the man was before me.
“Aww come on kitten…” He purred, advancing slightly towards me, “Pretty, pretty please?” He pouted
“Don’t you remember what happened last time I worked for you?” I retorted, glowering at him.
“Ah, but Doll, that’s why I want you!” He exclaimed happily, “Put aside the whole bomb thing kitten and you’re a good business women!”
I continued to eye him with distrust, not believing a word. He noted my distrust and sighed dramatically, “Look to sweeten the deal how abou’ I don’t interfere in anythin’ you do? Your club, your rules. I just asked for some of the profit.” He explained, gesturing with his palms faced upwards as he explained.
I still didn’t trust him. This was beyond suspicious.
“Why?” I snapped, on guard at his promises. “What’s in it for you?”
“Well, doll, you see.” He began, stepping closer so his rested his hand on my arm and I flinched at the touch, though he didn’t remove his hand. “I don’t like being in someone’s debt ya’ see.” I frowned up at him, who’s debt was he in?
“Now, try as I might.” He pondered, releasing my hand and strolling to my right and waving his right arm dramatically in the arm whilst his other was tucked behind his back, “I cannot deny that you may have, possibly saved my life the night you returned to the mansion.” He admitted.
He glanced back over his shoulder at my look of shock before returning his attention forward again. “Now.” He started, spinning to face me again, “You may well not have been aware of this doll, but – none the less - sadly I am.” He stared at me severely, no humour in his eyes, his face completely serious , “So I have to even the playing field.”
I frowned at him, “What’s that got to do with this club?”
His grin returned at my confusion, his eyes lightening once more as though someone had flicked a switch, “You need a job don’t you?” He probed, stepping toward me, I nodded. “You need something to do – a project?” He asked slyly, taking another step, “A reason to get up in the morning?” Another step. We now stood incredibly close - something I ought to be used to due to how often it seemed to happen – but I wasn’t. I could feel the heat radiating off his naked torso and I felt it go straight to my cheeks as I couldn’t stop myself blushing deeply – I just hoped he couldn’t see in the dim light of the darkened club.
He stared intensely at me, trying to wear down any more of my resolve. His eyes were so intense - the gaze hitting so deep - that I felt naked before him, all emotions and thoughts laid bare to him. I couldn’t seem to look away - my whole vision filled with his blue eyes - so I did the only thing I could and screwed my eyes shut.
The Joker’s presence lingered around me for a few moments; his gaze feeling like it was burning my skin as it roamed my face.
Then I suddenly couldn’t hear is low growl or harsh breathing. I snapped my eyes open but he was already gone.
“Humour me.” Came the purr from the darkness of the club.

Sirens and Shipwrecks
@hubris-but-no-writing I was that anon about the mer fic a couple days ago
so this is what would have been the one shot, only I realized I wanted to do another part or two with it. But also I have this track record where when I tell any person at all that I’ll write something, it never gets finished. So in light of that, I decided to post what I do have in case the rest of this doesn’t pan out and gets stuck half finished. When/if I do finish my idea, I’ll clean it up and post properly on ao3. So this is, in every sense, a rough first draft.
Please read this fic’s main inspiration, The Human World; It’s a Mess by @hubris-but-no-writing It is excellent and features Burr as the merperson and the squad as humans
Also this is my first time writing a polyam ship (in this case, burr/revset or /squad or /revsquad, whatever you want to call it), even if it’s barely present here. Honestly i need more practice writing conversations between more than 2 people in general
other notes- merfolk have a perfect understanding of the english language and use the same distance measurements/body language and yet don’t know certain specific words or gestures because shhhhh
Aaron woke up to sand in his mouth. It took a moment for him to realize it wasn't figurative, for all that he was also feeling bone dry. Aaron coughed weakly, pitifully. Every inch of him felt boneless and raw.
“Wh-” He coughed again, choking on sand granules. Aaron pulled his body up and over his legs in an approximate kneel, though he felt heavier than lead. The movement shifted Aaron into piping hot sand that scalded, and he yelped. Then he winced- his voice came out weak and strangled, and it tore his throat just to make it.
“Oh, he sat up!” A foreign voice, crystal clear and completely unbothered, rang from somewhere behind him, and Aaron froze in shock.
“Humans sleep far too much.” Chimed another voice, followed by a splash and the slap of skin against skin.
“It's because he was hurt, we went over that already.” This one was deeper, but still strangely melodic and refreshing-a ringing church bell carried on an ocean breeze. Slowly, Aaron blinked his eyes open, immediately tearing up from both the sand burrowing between eyelids and the harsh light of the sun. Rubbing his eyes only made the problem worse, but he worked at it anyways, the incoherent light slowly separating into colours and shapes, then in sand, rocks, and trees.
“Wait what, he's awake!? Holy shit guys, shut up!” A fourth person, loud like the echoes of a conch horn. Aaron blinked again, turning his body to get a look at whoever was behind him. He should be more afraid, jumping up and defending himself the moment he knew he wasn't alone. But Aaron was very tired, and considered it a victory that he was even able to face the strangers. His skin pulled painfully as he readjusted himself, in a way that only awful sunburns ever could. “He's turning around, what do we do!?” The conch-shell voice again, sounding slightly familiar somehow.
Aaron blinked. In front of him now was a very picturesque beach, the white-blue waves frothing onto golden pale sand. The ocean stretched as far as Aaron could see, enveloping his entire field of view, save for the four figures half extended from the surf. All of them inhumanly handsome men, and all of them with looks of excited awe. The closest, with dark yet bright eyes and long, similarly deep coloured hair loosely tied back, lurched forward as Aaron met eyes with him. Had they met-?
A laugh, beautiful brass notes. Lovely words, not honeyed, but bright and curious- “Burr, put your fucking plugs back in, they lure veterans to their death, and you aren't even a sailor!”.
An indignant chiming, then annoyance, “Thomas, he's not trying anything, calm down. I'm wearing that stupid harness besides,”
Aaron winced again, feeling for his head and finding a painful lump, covered by a mass of wet seaweed somehow tangled around his head. That would explain why his brain seemed so muddled. He remembered- wait, what was the last thing he remembered?
“Is the human okay?” the first voice, belonging to a face framed by a storm of freckles and bushy hair, crowded just behind the vaguely familiar man. Aaron wondered why they kept saying 'human', like they weren't. Then another one of them, bigger and heavyset, pulled himself forward on his hands and what should have been his knees, only as he moved forward his backside disappeared into the sleek, powerful tail of a sea creature. The sight was shocking, but not as much as the sudden images it brought back to Aaron's mind.
“I've been yelling at you to change course all day- you stupid humans! I've been trying to help, and you dare to think I'd do this!?”
“Just- just don't let your little boat flip over, okay? I don't want you to sink when I finally found a human who will talk to me.”
The ground heaving up and down, wood slicked by rain water. Roiling waves reaching up to meet him- human flesh blending into fish under his tight grip and the salt water burning his throat. Thomas and James screaming for him as a rope snapped, the flip of a giant tail before another wave crashed down on him. “Aaron!”
“Whe-” Aaron coughed as he tried speaking again, but this time he could feel the words working, even if it did rasp painfully. “Where am I? Did- something happened to the ship..?” He still didn't have the full picture, but it was coming together. He remembered now the sailboat trip with Thomas and James, mainly that he hadn't even wanted to go, but they had insisted- Aaron had spent too much of the holiday holed away in the resort. “The other two I was with, are they alright?”
“I think so,” The one Aaron had somehow and at some previous point spoken too assured, his hands raised in placation. “You were thrown off the boat and by the time I got you, I couldn't get you back to it again. It was a bad storm, but probably not bad enough to sink a ship of that size. If only you could have kept your feet on it, though.” The information made sense, fitting into what little Aaron could piece together. “By the way, do you remember me? We spent the day learning about each other's species. It looks like you kind of do, but also like you don't quite? But you aren't freaking out about the tail thing like you did when we first met..”
The chatter certainly rang a bell, Aaron realized, even as he sagged in relief at the possibility his friends were safe. Merfolk, a fantastical and extremely elusive race that very few humans ever saw, and of course one shows up on his very first voyage just to fire off a thousand questions when Aaron didn't immediately pop in his spelled earplugs.
“I remember pieces, but not a lot”, Aaron admitted. Mere fragments, especially considering his usually excellent memory.
“That's okay. We met yesterday. I brought you to the only piece of land nearby, and Herc helped patch you up, or at least your head.”
The bigger Mer nodded at that, and scooted forward again. “I set that wrap at least six hours ago, I could check it for you again?”
Aaron realized with sudden clarity that the seaweed was a wrapped bandage around his injury, not a random tangle, and immediately he brought both hands up to feel. It was pulled tight, professionally, and neatly knotted at one end. Instinctively, he tugged. “Hey- don't do that!” A tail slapped against the shallow water, startling Aaron. “You don't want to jostle that and lose the poultice John made, you need it to heal.”
Instinctively, that made Aaron peer at the remaining mer, for one of them should be this John. Sure enough, the freckled one dipped his head, almost shyly. “It was a rush job, but I used my best ingredients.” He gave as explanation as Aaron stared.
“Thank you.” Aaron said, to be polite but also out of genuine gratefulness. Consciously, he brought his hands back down so as not to disturb the dressing. He let them fall, fidgeting as his palms came into contact with more fresh sand, uncomfortably warm from contact with the sun that hadn't been shaded by his unconscious body. “Would any of you happen to know where I could get some freshwater? And, if it's no trouble, the nearest human settlement?” He needed to get out of the sun, too. Hell, maybe he could just pass out under those trees and find civilization later, Aaron wasn't even certain if he could stand, never mind walk however many miles away the nearest harbour was.
His question was met with four incredulous stares.
“What is freshwater?” John, the freckled one queried with an honest air of confusion, like Aaron had asked for the magic-force unification equation. Maybe it was a stupid question, Merfolk probably filtered the water they needed as all ocean species did. Simply looking human-like said little about their biology.
“Oh, new human friend, you would leave us so quickly?” The Mer that hadn't spoken directly to Aaron yet, tight curls bound even tighter behind his head, crawled closer to him as well, the last to leave the relative safety of deeper water. Audaciously, he pulled himself entirely out of the water, shimmying over the hot sand beside Aaron. This close up, Aaron realized the mer was very long. Longer than the one who had bandaged his head, but much slighter of frame such that he didn't appear so big at first. He slowly blinked, fluttering his long eyelashes and smiling almost flirtatiously. “We have only just met.”
“Lafayette oh my god.” One of the others muttered under their breath. Aaron ignored it, more concerned about the 'oh wow, mermaids' factor now that one erased the barrier of space between them.
“Uhhm,” Aaron forced out. He should probably push the mer away? Or something? But there was something so beautiful, so ethereal that he almost felt incapable of touching. A hand carefully reached up to Aaron, with long, perfectly elegant and almost delicate fingers offset by the very non-human webbing between each digit. Each finger was topped by a cheerfully coloured yet deadly sharp claw. “I do not mean to offend, only that-” He cut himself off as the hand gently touched at Aaron's cheek. It was cold and wet, and should have been clammy but was instead soothing.
“My apologies, little one. Your eyes are just captivating. I have been waiting for them to open.”
Aaron felt dizzy. Now was not the time to be blushing like a schoolgirl, but his heart pounded regardless. “Um,” he said again, uselessly. “My name is Aaron Burr”, he corrected, just so he wouldn't say 'little one' again.
The mer infront of him lit up at the words, but the three still in the surf shifted excitedly as well. “I am honoured you trust me with your name, little Burr!” Why were they so pleased by a simple name? And furthermore, if having his name was 'an honour', why did he call Aaron 'little' again? The mer took his hand away from Aaron's face to prop under his own chin as he leaned further into the sand beside him. Aaron tried not to miss the comforting coolness. “My name is Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier de Lafayette, though you may call me Lafayette.”
This, inexplicably, sparked annoyance throughout the group. “Asshole, I was going to give him my name first. I found him, you know” The familiar Mer pouted.
“You had your chance, Alexander.” Lafayette's smirk was wide and smug. “How can you expect me to resist a name-bond?”
“Name bond?” Aaron croaked out, baffled again.
“Do humans not know about it? I thought they all had magic, too?” The freckled one frowned. “If humans don't even have magic compatibility, that poultice won't work at all.” His frown deepened, and he started worrying his lip.
“No, we are.” Aaron interrupted the thought process. “There's not a lot of witches- people who use magic- but we're all compatible. All sentient creatures are..?” Aaron trailed off, uncertain. There were some confirmed fantastical species, and they all certainly were, but the field of magic study had never been well developed.
The freckled one brightened, like the sun had come back up again. “Yes, that's what we were hoping!” And then, he shot a sly look at the familiar one. “My name is John Laurens, at your service.”
The familiar one sputtered. The one who had bandaged him laughed, joining in. “I am Hercules Mulligan. Don't mind Alex, he's just jealous.” Lafayette, still beside him, chuckled at that, and Aaron skipped a beat, faltering at how beautiful the sound was and how close it was to his ear.
The familiar one huffed, impossibly blushing, and surged forwards out of the water as well. “Alexander Hamilton.” He flopped at Aaron's other side, holding a hand out in front of Aaron's nose. “This is how humans greet, right? I've observed that much.”
Hesitantly, Aaron shook the proffered hand. Alexander's grip was awkward and too strong, but the handshake was surprisingly natural for someone who had only ever seen it from a distance. The Mer focused laser-sharp on their hands, smiling brightly at Aaron when they released, only a few moments longer than Aaron was used to.
Of course, this caused the final two- Hercules and John- to approach as well, curious at the exchange. “Can I try shaking your hand, Aaron?”John gave a smile that felt sugar sweet, even if it made sharp teeth poke out from between his lips.
The attention was overwhelming, and Aaron reached for something to say. “So, why is ah, Lafayette's name so much longer? I mean, does he hail from somewhere else, or do all Mer names vary like that?”
Lafayette perked up at the mention, and opened his mouth to answer, when suddenly Aaron realized. “Wait, no, hold up. I asked where the nearest human settlement was. You distracted me.” He tried to glare at Lafayette, who paused in confusion, before closing his mouth in a slight grimace and glancing away from Aaron for the first time.
Aaron looked around, and the expression was mirrored on all of the mer. His chest filled with dread. “Hey, come on.” Tails shifted, fingers twiddled.
Finally, Alexander let out a short, loud breath before meeting Aaron's eyes with his own sheepish gaze. “This is our island. It was the only dry land I could get you to, your ship was already far from the human populated islands, and I don't even know exactly how to get to them either, because obviously we can't get to close to human shores anyways. I was just so afraid that you would drown, I don't know how much it takes to kill humans, and I would have brought you around the other side to the coves we use, but I had to get you to shore first, and then you weren't awake, and-!” He caught his breath, looking more guilty now than sheepish. “I'm sorry. There's no humans on this island. Please don't be mad.”
And so the other shoe falls, Aaron thought, his mind in shock. Objectively, he should immediately worry that this was all a ruse and he'd been abducted by Merfolk. Myth always said that they could control the waves and currents, and used their beautiful melodic voices to lure sailors. But Aaron also pride himself as a good judge of bullshit, and the person in front of him didn't appear to have a dishonest bone in his body. The expressions of awkward guilt from the others seemed very real as well.
Of course, abducted or not, he was still the only human apparently stuck on an uninhabited island. The dryness in his throat and the pain of his body seemed all the more pressing now. He may not be alone, but his companions were of a species that didn't even know what freshwater was. Finally, Aaron found the strength to attempt standing, pushing his legs down and under his center of gravity. It was every bit as difficult as Aaron imagined, his feet so weak and unsteady that he nearly toppled over several times on the way to standing fully.
“Wait, where are you going, please don't leave!” Alexander reached out to him, but didn't grab or pull. Aaron was thankful, he suspected that it would only take a light tap to knock him over.
“Stay with us, little Burr, those legs do not look like they will hold you.” The words should have been teasing, but there was a noticeable edge of concern. Aaron felt himself further crowded, the merfolk edging closer, looking at him like Aaron was a frightened, injured animal that they were trying to nurse. Perhaps that wasn't so inaccurate.
“I have to go further inland. My skin is burning up in the sun, and I need food and freshwater- not ocean water, it's too salty and only dehydrates humans more.”
“Oh, you meant landwater?”
“Well why didn't you say that earlier, we know what landwater is, there's a river just a few miles down that way.” John pointed helpfully to Aaron's right. “You'll have to go inland a bit to get to the landwater, but there is plenty of it. That's why we claimed this island in the first place, it's got enough waterways to explore all over.” He nodded, looking proud.
A few miles felt much too far in Aaron's mind, which was now starting to pound. But at least there was water to be had at all. Aaron supposed it was silly to assume they had no concept whatsoever of non-ocean water. He took a few steps, weak and short and painful. He attempted to go around Lafayette to the direction needed, but the Mer threw his hands out to block Aaron.
“No, please, let me carry you there, through the water. You look in pain.” Lafayette fluttered too-long eyelashes.
“I...” Aaron was again unsure of himself. “I don't need help. I can do it.” The pleading looks of his new companions spoke differently. Aaron should be firm about this, shouldn't he? He should be uncomfortable at the idea of letting a Mer drag him back into the water, especially when he was so weak.
“Aaron, please.” This time it was Hercules, reaching out to gently touch Aaron's shoulder. “Humans eat fish, right? How about I go catch some for you, while you let Lafayette take you up the river. He'll find some shade for you, and John can check that dressing.”
Aaron hesitated. Lafayette held a hand out, while John agreed loudly. “I'll go ahead and make a spot for you to rest!” Alexander said, clearly itching for something to do. “I've seen humans eat the insides of coconuts, I'll prepare some of those as well!” Four pairs of eyes stared beseechingly at him. He could only nod slightly, carefully clasping the hand held out to him.
This had to be the weirdest shipwrecking anyone had gone through.
