Good evening, Revalink Nation. I am once again back on my bullshit!

Have some modern-day human AU dumbasses! There's a little fic I'm working on for this AU as well, but with how many ideas i have for this thing, something tells me it's not going to be very "little" 👀. REGARDESS, there's some fun little deets in the read more, as well as one more drawing! ^^

• I like to think that Link would be the captain of the colour guard. Those of my oldest followers, the ones that have followed me since I was an undertale ask blog, know full well that I was in colour guard my freshman year of high school. Lots of peeps put him as captain of the fencing club, but I mean, HEY, CG involves its own types of saber and rifles! Plus, it helps make things just that little bit more unique ^^

• That being said, Revali is, predictably so, captain of the archery club. You can take the bird out of the archer, but you can't take the archer out of the bird.

• They share a college dorm together, and for the first month, Revali spends it acting like he couldn't give two shits about this tiny little twink of a boy, but then suddenly shifts gears one day when a particular short black woman with red cornrows has a Talk™️ with him.

• Link promised Revali's Nana when he first moved in that he would cheer Rev up whenever he was in a sour mood. So Revali's disdain for him is quite confusing, given that they hardly know each other at that point. He's convinced for that whole time that Revali hates him because of his tourettes, (He later finds out that Revali actually does understand sign and that he hated not being able to read Link's expressions. It's amazing what happens when you actually tell people how you're feeling and why!)

• Before the Very Mysterious Young Woman who's Definitely not Mipha reams into Rev, the only time he was cordial with Link was when food was involved.

• Like seriously, when Link was cooking, that was the ONLY time for that first month where he felt he could talk without stuttering or messing up his words.

• After that first month, Link starts leaving notes for Revali in places he commonly was, or attatched to meals that were then placed outside their door. They're not typically anything special, just little words of encouragement, praises of his accomplishments, even empathy for a particularly rough day. He puts the words he can't quite get verbally out into writing because, at least that way, there's no perceived embarrassment when he speaks.

• Revali. Keeps. Every. Single. Note. He reads three very specific ones over and over again at night once he gets all of them. The rest, he keeps safe in a little wooden music box that his mother gave to him (it plays song of storms), and he'll go through and read those too from time to time. They're secretly his favourite. Link has no idea he keeps them at all.

• They start dating some time after an extremely important archery competition. The CG was off on the sidelines watching the competition, and Link sprints over to slam himself into Revali the moment everyone else on their school's side of things begin filing onto the field. That's when Revali truly learns his own feelings.

This is a good deal of points in my fic, and I've been working on it on and off between playing TotK, working, and packing up to move. If anyone read this far, thank you for listening to me ramble!!!

I think the a problem with the (tbh kinda stupid) shipping war between Mipha and Zelda, is that honestly, both ships have value to the people who like them. But some folks just ruin it by being really aggressive about it (some reddit threads I've been subjected to are just nasty), and then you have the "neutral on shipping" people who start making jokes about it, with posts like the food-faces, and some take it to far and take shitposts but mean and push them unironically and without joke on people. Or some other "Haha Link loves X more than either of these two. You're so dumb for shipping him with anyone." as if both weren't huge players in Link's life pre and post-Calamity. (I still cry at some of the cutscenes in both BotW and AoC) As if people can't just have fun just shipping what they do, and avoid ships they don't like. I love me some Zelink, and even I started getting upset by how mean some Zelink shippers got, and vice versa with Miphlink shippers. 😔

yeah, I'm a pretty open Zelink shipper, I've written for them and drawn them and am part of a zelink community discord server, I obviously have a preference when it comes to the two but the way that they're set up against each other in fandom spaces is so weird to me.

Both can be meaningful relationships and both can coexist in the same space but I guess it is natural for people to get passionate about things they like. Doesn't mean it's okay to attack people bc they like a different ship than you do.

I actually feel pity for Miphalink shippers bc their girl is dead in canon and has weird age discourse that can range from grossly problematic and uncomfortable to practically nonexistent. But also there's far more unwarranted hate for botw Zelda because she's not treating Link like a king and her narrative isn't centered around him.

In the end, we're both victims of the misogyny of the Zelda community and should band together to go against our real enemies, the Revalink shippers /hj

who’s the first to wake up in the morning

if you've read the sleepy link x coddler revali fic, you know what's up but here's a quick recap:

at first it was link because of his insomnia, hypervigilance, or his nightmares, and it would end up waking revali up too, because revali is a light sleeper

but gradually, link relearns how to sleep in again, comforted by the warmth and steadiness of revali's embrace, and now revali is the one who wakes up first by default and he stays in bed with link cuddled up on his chest, admiring how soft and peaceful his beloved songbird is <3

who’s the one to make breakfast:

revali is the type of person who doesn't eat breakfast because he can't stomach food that early in the morning (i'm projecting again) and him and link wake up pretty early as per the previous concept

but link always makes him eat a little bit because he's a firm believer that breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

(in the future, link is the type to cook a big meal for every mealtime to sit down and eat with revali and their babies, because food is his love language 🥹)

Aaaaaaa thank you, friend! 💖 This is gonna get messy and lengthy just fyi.

Let's see... I think my two favorite standalone fics to date (that are completed and posted at least) are Treading Water and Fugacious. Both happen to be pieces I wrote for fan events, so maybe those bring something special out of me?

I've talked many times about Treading Water. It's near and dear to my heart because of how many things about it felt experimental — the imagery/water metaphor, my own take on Aryll, using NPCs more, the getting to know someone through traces and impressions (which was the prompt!). It was fun to just follow Revali along from scene to scene as his pride thawed little by little, and everything fell into place so neatly it was almost scary 😅 I remember liveblogging as the word count increased because I simply couldn't believe it! It's still my longest work to date, and while to many 14k is nothing, to me it still is a huge accomplishment. That Aryll lives in my head rent-free with a story of her own, I love her so much.

Now Fugacious... I'll admit, when I saw that my giftee for the Revalink Secret Santa was @ghirahimbo I was a little scared. Steph is a phenomenal fanfic writer, one of the best I've encountered across fandoms, and she single-handedly got me into the ship (and into writing again!), so I wanted to write something to thank her for that. I'd been dying to explore Satori Mountain and its Lord so I figured going with something I truly wanted to write was my best bet! But I didn't really have a plan so I picked the route for the roadtrip and traveled it in-game, taking notes on landmarks and fun tidbits I could use. The problem was I found too many interesting things, so I had to axe a good chunk of them 😭 (RIP to the scene I had planned in Rutile Lake with Link swimming and splashing Revali to tease him). All in all it was a very fun fic to write.

Now, since the ask specifies edits as well and I'm a proud video editor, I'm gonna talk about my favorite MMV! I think we can all agree my best is Mirrors (with Rising Tide as a valiant second best), but today I wanna talk about Crossed Threads.

This fucking video is a testament to my perseverance and love for my wife. It took me four years to complete. Four years. I almost dropped the project it was too much work — I was getting frustrated, my editing skills had morphed and I didn't have the energy to redo old parts, Sony Vegas gave me the middle finger constantly, and there was so much masking. But I pushed through. I told myself over and over it doesn't have to be perfect, just get it done. And I did and I'm fucking proud of it 💪

Revali startled at the loud knock from Flight Range's hut. No reasonable person would be out in the middle of nowhere at this hour--and especially not during Arkqueath. He lowered his bow and crept back inside.

It was Link. Link, leaning just slightly against the side of the entranceway, a highly familiar cloth bag resting at his hip. Revali had half a mind to turn around and march back outside. To yell at Link and send him away, to release his tight hold on the burning sensation behind his eyes--instead Revali gritted out, "What are you doing here?"

He'd meant it to come out snappish, imperiously impatient. Instead the venom was undercut by Revali's exhaustion.

Link just looked at him. "This is no way to spend a holiday," he said.

Revali reached for some kind of sarcastic response. And who are you to judge, being here, maybe, or does it seem like I'm at all in the mood for celebration, or even you think I can't tell that it's miserable here? Obviously he didn't say any of those things. "That doesn't answer my question," is what he managed at last.

"Can I come in?" Link asked, ridiculously, as if he'd really make the long journey all the way back if Revali refused to let him in. He should have refused. He didn't refuse.

"Fine," Revali said, and as Link immediately moved inside, he followed and continued forcefully, "but answer me this time--why are you here?"

Link settled at the center of the hut, where Revali had already lit the fire earlier. For warmth, Revali assumed, what with Hylians' lack of feathers--until Link started to unpack his bag.

"I brought food," Link said, and sure enough, he pulled out a few paper boxes, opening them up: he had hearty salmon sushi, a whole roasted white pigeon, even two slices of nutcake. "It's a little cold by now. I'd've just cooked it here if I knew you had a pot. But it's good that I can heat it up."

Revali didn't know what to do. He was just standing here, bow still in his hand, watching Link carefully maneuver the whole pigeon in the pot.

"I don't understand," said Revali. He hated the way his voice threatened to shake. "You...brought this for me?"

"You said this was a big holiday," said Link, calm as ever. But not the stony kind of collectedness Revali was used to. Instead, Link looked...unguarded. "About spending time with people you care about."

Wordless, Revali nodded. And Link left it there. He fiddled with the pigeon again, preventing the meat from burning. Eventually, Revali found it in himself to unstick his tongue.

"I don't have a boat, you know," he said. Link looked at him. "For the sushi," Revali went on, refusing to be cowed. "This being a training ground and all."

"Oh." Link turned back to the pigeon. "That's okay. We can just get on that next year."

Next year, Revali thought, a little wonderingly despite himself. We're doing this again next year?

Somehow, Revali didn't think spending another Arkqueath with Link would be so bad at all.

Revali was squinting as the sun peeked through the curtains. Nearly jumping when he felt something nuzzle him. Looking down he relaxed as he saw Link cuddle up to him. Link muttered incoherantly as his boddy tiwtched. 'Must be fighting bokoblins agin.' Recali thought as he ran his fingers through his hair.

Revali couldn't help but to think about all that has happened. Link learned magic and helped Zelda, them turning out to be half brother and sister, the "King" being shelfish, and the Yiga Clan. It took years after defeating the Calamity to deal with them.

The Yiga tried to bring back the Calamity with Link's blood and magic. If it wasn't for Mipha's tracking skills or Zelda's magic,they would have been too late. "Stop." Revali jumped as his eyes flew open. Link was holding his face as he made eye contact. "It's over," he said calmly as his hair fell over his shoulders.

Revali frooze for a moment, lost in the moment as he watched the sun bounced in from the windows. Lighting up the space behind Link, making him look like an angel sent by Hylia herself. His eyes an ocean so deep, Revali would not mind drowning in. "Better?"

Revali snapped out of his dazze as he rested his hand on his shoulder and wrapped his wings around him. "Morning you hairless Squirrel." Link chuckled as he nuzzled his head further into Revali's chest. "Morning to you too, you overgrown cucco. Now do you want breakfast or lay in bed some more?"

Revali hummed, the thought felt like it was too good to be true almost. But before he could open his mouth, "Link, I set the kitchen on fire again!"

To Revali's dismay, Link got off of him, Revali watched as the oversized shirt slipped off of one shoulder. Sunshine blonde hair drapped over his shoulders as Link pushed his hair back, making a cascade waterfall of sunshine. Revali snapped out of it when Link put a robe ocer himself and went to greet their guest.

Revali decides to follow and gets up. He stretched his wings up, nearly touching the ceiling, he put his wings down and walks downstairs. He saw Zelda sitting at the table, fumingly reading, as Link was at the stove,"Good morning Zelda, how are you?" Revali greeted. Zelda gave him a glare before continuing her book.

"Hey Vali, come help me cut," Link calls out. Revali nods and walks over to help him. With Zelddda not looking, Link wraped his arms around Revali and snuggled him from behind, "She was trying to impress Mipha and it didn't work out well," he whispers as he grabbed a knife to hand to Revali.

Revali just hummed and listened to the directions Link gave. In no time, they had breakfast cooked and on the table. The silence was defining and awkward as they ate. "Okay, I'm just going to say it." Both boys stopped what they were doing and looked at Zelda. She put her fork down and looked them both up and down, "Are you guys dating or what?"

Both reactions varied. Link was blushind and trying to form a sentence, while Revali just froze. He was quick to unfreeze and say what he alwas say to those who asked, "We're just really good friends."

"Yeah, friends." Link mutters as he picks at his food. He suddenly stands up and goes to put his boots on, "I gotta feed Espona real quick. I'll be right back."

As soon as the door closed Zelda slaps Revali upside the head. "You idiot! Don't you realize what you just did?! I gave you the perfect opportunity and you just blew it!" Zelda yells. "For pete's sake, I thought Link was the stupid one. He loces you and you love him. So hurry up and become my Brother-in-Law before I burry you 6 feet under!"

Zelda stormeed out after that, leaving Revali to think on his own. 'What is she talking about? We just cuddle and live together, don't freinds do that?' he thought as he cleaned the kitchen. His mind wandered to all the times he took him to the archery range. How happy he looks when Revali praises him once the arrow hits.

Or how he practically glows when he's around children. How happy Link gets when someone asks about how maagic works. His favorite though, is when hess outside. It's indescribable. The way he moves with nautre, finding the koroks. Or how he knows specifically where to get the freshest ingredients from. But the one he holds close is when Link looks at the stars. Finding the constillations, naming them, hearing their stories.

He froze as the plates clatter back to the table. All the things he knows about Link, no one else knows. He was the only one Link talked to for a very long time. 'I can't beliece it took me this long.' Revali thought as he rushed upstaris. 'I have to fix this.'

Link has spent all day outside to avoid Revali. After Zelda stormed out fuming, Link thought it was best to stay outside. Link was sitting by the pond stargazing when he heard the ukelele. He quickly turned around to see Revali leaning against the house. "Shh."

A long, long time ago

There lived a Rito

Living all alone in the sky

He sat high in his roost

Watching all the couples flew

And wishing he had someone too

Link was dazed into silence as he watched Revali.

And from his heart came

    Relationship(s): Revali/Link,  Background/implied Saki/Teba

    Summary: After a less than ideal ending to not only their dance partnership but their dating each other, Link and Revali find themselves back together, but will there still be sparks?

Revali had always known he had messed up, leaving Link after a several year-long relationships and an even longer friendship, maybe they had their fights, and they certainly started off in a bad place, but seeing Link dance with someone else hurt more than Revali would care to admit.

    Link had become Ravli’s own dance rival again, he dances with a childhood friend of his, Mipha, Revali dances with his friend Teba, but there was a time that Link had been Revali’s dance partner. Revali’s partner in every way that mattered.

    The way things had ended left him colder than before, less trusting, less hopeful, and more egotistical, and missing Link with everything he was. It’s one thing for a relationship to end on its own, but Link and Revali’s hadn’t ended of its own accord.

    But Link hadn’t been ready to leave his father behind, his very homophobic, father and violent mother had made it clear that it was them and their support and money, or Revali and nothing.

    He doesn’t blame Link, it sucks that Link chose them, after everything, but it’s likely better for the man.

    But it’s when he was assigned the same hotel suite (A completely different disaster due to them technically going to the same dance place) that he truly realized how much he still mourns the loss of Link, and how- he loathes to admit this even in his own mind- he pines for and love the man still.

    Teba had claimed a separate room for himself and his family, so this suite was Mipha, Link, and Revali. And then came the who sleeps where and no you aren’t sleeping on the couch, well you aren’t either discussion.

    Revali simply claimed one room while Mipha and Link tried to out friend the other, each insisting they take the couch and the other the bed.

    He sighs, walking into the room, “Or someone could share a room, now will you stop bickering?”

    Link pauses, looking to his phone for a time check, nine in the evening, Revali’s meditation, his eyes twinkle as he smiles softly, “Sure.”

    Mipha hums, “Well, I mean, Link and I could share a bed, you and Link could too, your both boys.”

    Revali rolls his eyes, “And I should share with him because?”

    “I have been known to be a restless sleeper?” Mipha says, “I’m sure he would be better elsewhere.”

    “Fine, he can take my bed with me, or the couch, it hardly matters to me. Now could you please keep it down?”

    The other two agree, and Revali goes to the hotel room, settling on the bed to begin meditation. His breathing slows and he focuses his mind on where his weight is distributed, letting his mind clear.

    Link looks nice with the jeans and blue sweater today- not going there. Clear mind.

    He sighs softly, trying again, it works better for a little while, but then he’s thinking about Link’s smile, and how the man might share a bed with him tonight.

    Revali thought he was over this, better than this, better than hopelessly pining over someone who chose something else over him.

    Just great, Revali supposes, finishing his meditation slower than is typical of himself, exiting his room to find Mipha on her laptop, video calling Zelda.

    Link is Hylia knows where, and Zelda spots him, “Hello Revali!”

    He sighs, “Hello, Zelda.”

    “How have you been? It has been- a long time. I’m sorry about-”

    Revali walks away, grabbing his wallet and exiting the room to go and see Teba and his wife and child, deciding to brave that more than to see Zelda.

    As if Hylia herself planned it (She’s a bitch thank you), Link trips over something, and tackles Revali to the floor, both sprawling on the ground of the hotel, neither as a breath yet in their lungs. 

    Link squeaks, pulling his face off of Revali’s chest, “I am so sorry.”

    “You should watch where you are going.” Revali sniffs, and the disdain is there, but he’s forgotten, Link knows him better than likely anyone else, the chastesation would chill most people.

    But Link? He just smiles softly, “Thanks, Revali.” Pushing to his feet, he holds a hand out to help the man he knocked over up, just to have it smacked away as Revali stands on his own.

    “I don’t need your help.”

    Link just smirks softly up at Revali, “Okay.”

    “What? Do I have something on my face?”

    “No.”

    “Well then, what is it?”

    “You-” Link hesitates, and oh, there is that sweetly awkward boy Revali first met, “You look good. You’ve done well in your career I hear, and your dancing is as perfect as ever.”

    “Of course it is, of course, I am, do you take me for a second-place king of man?”

    “No, you never were.” Link says softly then, “I’m sure you’ll win, you always have.”

    “It will hardly change now.”

    “No, it won’t,” Link says then he sighs eyes flicking to the ceiling then back to Revali’s own, “Revali, I- ‘m glad you’re okay.”

    “Why wouldn’t I be?”

    Revali watches Link hesitate, good, he should hesitate. The way things ended was awful, but what Link’s mother did was worse, it was Link who saved him, but it was also Link to leave his life.

    “I know Carolina was awful to you that last night and I- well- I’m sorry. But- I’d also like to say thank you.”

    “Excuse me?”

    “Thank you, thank you for everything you said while I was still with you. I shouldn’t have chosen them, I was scared and young and stupid, and maybe we wouldn’t have worked out, but I’d have been happier if I’d cut them out sooner.”

    “You cut them out?”

    Link nods, shifting, “Zelda and Uncle Roahm did too, I don’t know, it’s just- what you said kept rattling in my head, it stuck.”

    Revali almost preens outwardly at that, Link has always been stubborn, reckless, and fairly carefree if a little overly protective of his loved ones, to get him to listen is a feat and a privilege few have.

    Revali suspects he knows what was ‘rattling; about Link’s head too, the exact phrasing. 

‘They are bad people, Link, awful, vile creatures who berate you, withhold food, lock you in a small room without food, water, or a bathroom for up to two days giving you a trash can instead of a toilet then. Your father is neglecting at best and your mother physically beats you why you would choose them is beyond not just me.’

Quite the phrase, Revali supposes, but Link has always needed reality checks, not sugar-coated bullshit.

“Hm, well, I’m glad you finally made a decent choice about them.”

    Link laughs and Revali finds that even though he wanted to hurt Link (The way Link hurt him just a little, maybe revenge will help him heal) that the laugh he receives instead is sweeter and welcome.

    “Well, Revali, I had to eventually, statistically at least.”

    Revali snorts at that, he regrets it and doesn’t at the same time, letting lInk see him anything but annoyed at his presence is dangerous, but the way his eyes light up at the taller’s mistake is enough to soften the blow, even if his pride is bruised.

    “I suppose so.”

    “I was just coming back from my run to see if you wanted dinner, Mipha and I were thinking Subway.”

    “I do enjoy Subway,” Revali says noncommittally.

    “Want to come with me to get it?”

    “I suppose that would ensure my order is relayed properly, yes.” Revali nods, letting Link lead him through the halls, into and then out of an elevator, and down a street once they exit the hotel.

    They walk in silence, not awkward but not quite comfortable. Heavy, perhaps, but neither expected different, honestly they expected worse. The men walk along, in step, and each graceful after years of dance.

    The ordering and retrieving and even paying off their walk-in uneventful, though it is raining when they leave the place, Link seems pleased though it is a nice light rain on a hot night it does present the issue of memories.

    (‘C’mon, Rev, not even one kiss?’ It had been raining then, and they had just been reunited after a road trip.)

    He firmly shuts the memories off, he is better off this way, pining and hurting but free on a relationship that ended poorly. He’s better off not letting himself get wrapped up in Link and what that boy does to him.

    So, that was easier thought than done. The night before the competition’s final Teba’s son got injured and they have to spend at least two days in the hospital, and Teba won’t leave his wife or child, so he’s out of the competition. Mipha sprained her ankle the day before.

    Link grains, looking to Revali, “I talked to the competition judges; they said we can either partner up together or accept that we’re out.”

    “Why?”

    “They said because we’re from the same initial program and emergency issues came up we aren’t cut off. We can find a replacement, ie, team up ourselves, or, we can go home.”

    “I have never gone home empty-handed.”

    “I know.”

    “You are willing to be my dance partner?”

    “Of course I am,” Link says, that glint in his eyes that Revali has missed dearly.

    The night is spent in a choreographing and routine learning frenzy, and they know it’s sloppier than their usual standards, but they also still have the connection they used to. They sleep some, not as much as they should but not as little as no sleep. All in all, not too bad.

    The day of said competition is a mess of coffee, last-minute practicing, and pining from our resident useless gay dance team. And it isn’t until they end the dance, the crowd cheering that the two realize just how badly they messed up, doing this together, being kind.

    Revali drags Link off the stage, glowering at the blonde, “What are you playing at? You were too fast! I had to match your pace, my heart is moving entirely too fast.”

    “I wasn’t.”

    “Excuse me?”

    “I wasn’t.”

    Revali scoffs, but Link is right, he wasn’t.

    “My heart’s fast too,” Link tries.

    “Good.”

    Link shifts then, “I thought I was over this, you.”

    “Oh?”

    “I worried for you, but I figured that was to be expected when I found you bloody and almost dead on the ground of my kitchen with my mother over you.”

    Revali scoffs, “I hardly was on the brink of death.”

    “It felt like it, in the moment.”

    “Well, I suppose so, you always were overly emotional.”

    “Still am.”

    Revali sighs, “Well, surprisingly, I am not over you either.”

    “What?”

    “You heard me.”

    “I did- I just- Not what I was expecting.”

    “Nor I.”

    Link hums, “I don’t suppose you’re free tonight?”

    Revali cuffs the back of the blonde’s head when he smirks knowingly up at the taller, “I am.”

    “And I don’t suppose you’d want to give us another chance?”

    Revali hums, low, soft, unintentional, thinking. Link did choose his parents (His awful, abusive, toxic parents) Over Revali, but he’s moved on, he apologized, he was scared. And he’s here now, no less enchanting and no less Link.

    “One more chance, but if this does not work out, I am not giving you so much as a glance.”

    “Understandable.”

    Revali sighs, pulling Link into an embrace, startling the younger though the blonde hugs back tightly.

    “Just-” Revali sighs, kissing the top of Link’s head, “Don’t make a choice between me and someone like them that ends in the bad one.”

    “Never.”

    “Okay.”

    “You do know I’m not letting you go again.”

    “Sap.”

    Link snorts and Revali knows very well what that means, yes, Link is a sap, his sap. Link is his sap, oh Hylia, Link is his.

    (Maybe Hylia isn’t such a bitch. After all, these two certainly have a wonderful future ahead of them, and even if it is a spoiler for these two, they manage to make the relationship work this time, going so far as to get married and adopt a daughter they name Naru.)

    Link smiles softly, “I don’t think we won.”

    “I think we did, just not the competition.”

    Link snorts, shaking his head. And the world seems brighter, neither had realized how dark it had been. And if they end up curled up in the bed at the hotel that night, third place overall, watching old reruns of some show or other lost in each other, well, that’s their business. Isn’t it?

20 with revalink, it can be no other way Link can finally be as tall or taller than Revali

"I can't believe that I'm going to be late to this very important banquet because of you."

Link rolled his eyes and smirked to himself as he trudged through the castle hallways, Revali in tow behind him.

There was a banquet that evening with Hyrule's most royal and important people attending, celebrating one thing or another...Link wasn't sure. All he knew was that there was going to be food, and that's all that mattered.

"You're, what, nineteen and you can't do your own hair? You're absolutely ridiculous!"

With Zelda already making pleasantries with the guests and Urbosa missing from her room, there was no one else around to help him do his hair for the banquet. So, Link ended up wandering into Revali's room, where the Rito was finishing his makeup, to beg him to help him finish getting ready. Revali groaned, but ultimately agreed with furrowed brows.

Truthfully, Link liked the idea of Revali doing his hair for him anyway. No matter how he wore it, his hair was always flawless and he always looked so nice.

But he changed his mind when Revali undid his ponytail, gasped with disgust when he saw how disgustingly knotty his golden hair was, and yanked a brush through it for an agonizingly long time until every knot ceased to be. Link hadn't ever felt pain like he did then, but at least he actually looked good for once thanks to Revali.

"Honestly," Revali grumbled behind Link as they both reached the stairwell that led up to the banquet hall. "Why was I the one that ended up having to help you anyway? I would've been right on time if it wasn't for-"

Link softly chuckled to himself and Revali stopped when he heard him.

"What?" He crowed, face crinkling into a scowl. "What are you laughing for?"

Link turned around to look at Revali. Being a couple steps up the stairs made him eye level with Revali for once.

He always looked so nice.

Revali's scowl shifted as he became flustered with Link looking at him so intently. "What are you staring at?"

After waiting for an answer and getting nothing, Revali opened his beak to say some other rude comment, but no sound ended up coming out.

Link leaned forward, using his newfound height as an opportunity to quickly peck the side of Revali's beak with his lips. As he drew away, he murmured, "Thanks, Revali. Sorry."

Immediately, Revali's feathers stood on all ends and he uselessly stammered and squawked. He looked furious, shocked, and embarassed all at the same time, and was unable to move.

Again, Link chuckled, then cocked his head as he took some steps backward up the stairs. "C'mon. You don't want to be extra late, do you?" He twisted back around as he hustled forward, leaving Revali in his wake.

There was a couple of silent moments before Revali finally shrilly shrieked, "What the hell was that?!" which echoed throughout the stairwell.

you’d think that the hardened knight/warrior and enemy of all evil would be the one willing to kick ass at any second but nope its zelda and link is totally fine with that

despite that the two are the cutest things alive and when theyre together everyone melts 

every morning link goes out and makes zelda a bouquet so she can wake up to pretty flowers

he also tried to make them matching scarves but failed. it was the thought that counted.

she loves to run her fingers through his hair bc its so soft

zelda constantly shows Link off. she just loves him so much and wants everyone to know it

they were matching outfits smh

when “Hyrule” is established and homes are built on the Surface and Zelda is named ruler/queen/princess Link insists on carrying her around on his shoulders because shes now royalty

link is too shy to do anything too extreme PDA wise. the most he can go for is a kiss on the cheek but when they’re alone catch that boy showering his gf in kisses and cuddles!!!

catch revali complaining about link taking him on mini-adventures around hyrule but always loving them

revali loves to braid link’s hair and even puts one (1) feather in the braid

link is the most encouraging boyfriend ever and goes to watch revali when he trains and claps super loudly (he’d cheer but being a mute he can’t)

revali lets link wear his scarf 

link always makes revalis favorite meal (creamy seafood stew and copious simmered fruit)

links smile when hes cooking food melts revali’s heart

the two arent very comfortable with PDA but there are times where they sneakily hold hands or give each other a lil kiss
