ok this scene isn't meant to be taken seriously at all but if we do take it seriously it's so funny if the horde doesn't have birthdays, they probably don't have girl's nights out/in so adora must've learned about these after she left all her friends are girls tho except bow and seahawk, so having a girl's night would just mean deliberately excluding those two lol (or just excluding seahawk by default) (and bow is one third of the best friends trio so that's a big exclusion!!!)
so im just imagining bow &/or seahawk crying looking thru a window at EVERYONE ELSE having this girl's night in

She-Ra - What If Catra left the Horde and Adora stayed behind?
Okay so this started out as a reply to an ask @catras-breakup-song got about this question, but it got so long and I've been wanting to make big long ass discussion posts about these various canon adjacent or canon divergent topics anyway.
I will hopefully be making a lot more of these posts if this ends up doing really well.
Anyway, for our first one, we have what if Catra left the Horde and Adora stayed, a very popular AU concept I see going around. Personally, I see a few options for this, none of them are going to be any fun for Adora because well... if Adora stayed in the Horde, she's not going to leave. She was fully into the Horde propaganda and without Catra there... she's going to be so much worse.
Do let me know if you want me to make full fics out of these ideas, since that's kinda partly why I'm making posts like this. Also I might reblog these again in the future if I come up with any more potential options.
Also while the ideas might have some overlap, I'm gonna try my best to make each one have some sort of unique gist going for them.
Option 1 - Catra leaves but Adora stays in the Horde, Adora isn't She-Ra
Catra would finally steel herself to leave the Horde after getting hurt by Shadow Weaver far too many times. She hates that Adora is so dumb and she can't see the Horde isn't right for either of them. It takes all of her mental strength due to Shadow Weaver's abuse but eventually she leaves.
Catra would probably not join the rebellion in this version. Just because she hates the Horde, doesn't mean she's suddenly going to want to take them down. No, she'd probably make her way to the Crimson Waste and do the outlaw stuff there really early.
As for Adora, she'd be hurt by Catra leaving her and with her best friend gone, fully buries herself in being the best Horde soldier she can be and eventually is promoted to Force Captain, a ruthless general of the Horde armies.
Sometime later, Catra, now an outlaw in the Crimson waste, is minding her own business when a squad of Horde tanks move into the town she's currently staying in, with orders from Shadow Weaver to reduce it to rubble so the Horde can mine the area. When Catra sees the commander of the tanks... she sees a familiar blonde now wearing Horde Armour giving orders to her troops.
Option 1.2 - Catra does join the rebellion.
Like in option 1, Catra decides to leave the Horde of her own free will. Shortly after leaving the Fright Zone, Catra speeds through the whispering woods... and bumps into Bow and Glimmer. The two of them capture her, but Catra ends up strangely bonding with the two, Glimmer reminding her a lot of Adora. Catra intially wants to just leave the two, thinking she'll be better off on her own, but Glimmer sees how sad Catra is.
She offers to take her to Brightmoon, at least for a while so she can get back on her feet. Surprised at Glimmer's compassion, Catra agrees and goes with her to Brightmoon. Catra keeps her former Horde identiy to herself for a while, but before she can leave, she hears something from Glimmer about a new, very ruthless Force Captain who recently laid waste to the nearby town of Thaymor. In particular... the Force Captain was a young blonde woman.
Catra offers to go with Glimmer to find this Force Captain before she strikes another civilian town. Glimmer agrees and Catra goes with her and Bow to another town under seige from the Horde... and there, she comes face to face with Adora again.
Option 1.25 Catra becomes She-Ra
Like in the previous one, Catra ends up in the whispering woods... and it's there she discovers the She-Ra sword for herself. But since it won't do anyting for her, it's just a regular sword. She uses it to help save Glimmer and Bow from a rampaging monster in the woods and figures it might come in handy as a personal weapon.
Bow, fascinated by the sword, wants to study it as a peice of First One's tech. However... he finds that no matter what he does, the sword doesn't work and seems to be just a regular old sword, albiet one that's gold and with a silvery-blue blade.
When Adora is promoted to Force Captain, she is ordered to take command of the Horde's advancement towards Brightmoon, laying seige to the nearby towns. After Catra hears that Adora is in command, she comes out to Queen Angella about her time in the Horde and asks to be the one to be sent after Adora, thinking she can maybe reason with her old friend.
Angella agrees and Catra is sent out with Glimmer and Bow to the town Adora is attacking. Catra tries to reason with Adora, thinking she must see what she's been doing is wrong. Adora... doesn't care. Ever since Catra left and broke her heart, she's fully dedicated herself to the Horde cause.
Catra tries to fight Adora with her sword and during the fight, Adora touches the sword... and it starts glowing. Realising that something Adora has done must have activated it, Catra grabs the sword back... and is transformed into She-Ra.
Using her new powers, Catra is able to easily defeat Adora's troops. She has Adora at her mercy, wanting to take her prisoner... but a part of her just can't, a part of her still sees Adora as her friend and lets her go.
Adora growls at Catra, swearing revenge and wanting to claim the power of She-Ra for herself and for the Horde. And thus, Catra decides to use her powers to fight for the Rebellion, realising this is what she should have done from the moment she left.
Option 2 - Catra Leaves the Horde and Adora stays, Adora is She-Ra
One night, Catra tries to leave the Horde, tired of Shadow Weaver's abuse, tired of Adora just taking it. Adora finds her right as she's about to leave and the two get into an arguement. Catra eventually just leaves and Adora chases after her, clinging onto Catra's Horde Skiff.
However, the Skiff crashes in the Whispering Woods and Adora and Catra end up seperated. Adora, desperate to find her friend, searches for her, but to no avail... but she is soon led to a sword glowing in the woods and two rebels named Glimmer and Bow. Unlike in the main timeline, Adora is only focused on Catra, not her visions on the sword and thus, when she becomes She-Ra, she doesn't join the rebellion. Instead, she takes the sword... and her two new rebel prisoners, back to the Fright Zone.
Shortly after leaving the Horde, Catra finds herself in a kingdom named Plumeria. She isn't sure how she ended up there, but it seems like a nice place, even if she knows she probably won't be staying there. That all changes though, when the Horde suddenly attacks Plumeria... and Catra sees the leader of the attack is none other than Adora, now a golden armoured warrior. She also notices a new recruit among her ranks, a Pink-haired princess with some kind of sparkly magic and an dark-skinned Archer with a variety of trick arrows.
The Kingdom's princess, Perfuma, does her best to hold Adora and her troops back, but Adora is easily able to overwhelm Perfuma. Realising she can't just sit back and do nothing, Catra saves Perfuma's life and Catra recognises that Glimmer and Bow are clearly under some kind of mind control, sensing Shadow Weaver's magic aura around them.
Catra takes Perfuma with her, knowing that Plumeria is lost. The two flee their way to Brightmoon, where Queen Angella is reforming the previously disbanded Princess Alliance to counter the threat of She-Ra... as well as her own brainwashed daughter. Catra decides to offer the rebellion her services, somehow feeling in her gut that this is all her fault.
Option 3 - Catra Leaves the Horde and Adora stays, Shadow Weaver mind wipes Adora.
In this scenario, similar to option two, Adora catches Catra before she can leave, but is unable to stop her. In this version though, Adora isn't able to chase after Catra... which gives Shadow Weaver a chance to further embed her manipulative tentacles into Adora. She offers the blonde to take the pain away... and Adora accepts.
In this timeline, Catra has made it to the town of Thaymor, planning on leaving at a later point. However, she is caught off guard when the Horde attacks... and they're led by Adora. Catra tries to reason with Adora... but the blonde doesn't recognise her at all.
Heartbroken, Catra is forced to flee while the Horde lay seige to Thaymor. She is filled with so much guilt, knowing that without her, Shadow Weaver was finally able to take control of Adora, erasing Catra from her mind.
Catra spends the next few weeks and months fleeing from place to place, as Adora leads the Horde to victory after victory. She also discovers the She-Ra sword, which Shadow Weaver is able to corrupt with her magic, turning her into quite the forced to be reckoned with.
While on her travels, Catra hears the Princess Alliance is reforming in Brightmoon, to try and fight against the Horde. She is... tempted to join... but whose to say the Princesses would even trust her, especialyl if they found out that the reason for all of this is her fault.
The Horde lay Seige to Brightmoon and all of the Princesses are captured and made prisoners. However, Adora finds that she isn't satisfied with serving Shadow Weaver, knowing the witch is holding her back.
Catching them off guard, Adora takes out both Shadow Weaver and Hordak and seizes the throne of the Horde for herself... but not before Shadow Weaver uses the last of her magic to horribly wound Adora in an explosion that takes herself out.
Adora survives... but barely alive. Fortunately, by this point Entrapta is in the Horde now, Adora having convinced her during her conquest of Dryl. She begs Entrapta to save and she does, Entrapta even getting Hordak to assist.
Sometime later, Adora is reborn as the cybernetic warrior known as Despara, the last shred of her humanity and who she once was gone. Using her new leadership of the Horde, Despara quickly takes over Etheria and starts making plans to use a ship recovered from the Crimson Waste, as well as the countless slaves the Horde now has from the captured kingdoms to construct a fleet of ships. Hordak mentioned he had a brother... Despara might as well take him out too.
Option 4 - Catra is exiled to Beast Island.
This one's a bit different since it's not technically Catra leaving the Horde of her own free will but I think it's worth exploring nonetheless.
In this universe, Shadow Weaver finally has enough of Catra and decides to exile her to Beast Island. In her mind, it's the perfect place to send an unruly animal like Catra. When this happens doesn't really matter. It could be when Catra is just a kid or when she's around her canon age of eighteen.
When Catra ends up on Beast Island, she is intially hurt and heartbroken, missing Adora constantly. Thus, she decides she wont give in to what Shadow Weaver wants. She'll survive. As time goes by, Catra manages to survive on the island... and she soon finds she isn't alone.
A sorcecer named Micah is also there and the two strike up a bond, especically when Micah mentions that Shadow Weaver was once his mentor named Light Spinner. Micah also remarks that Catra reminds him a lot of his daughter Glimmer, who he hasn't seen for so many years. She was barely old enough to walk when the Horde captured and exiled him.
Catra and Micah make a promise, to escape Beast Island together, so Catra can find Adora again and take revenge on Shadow Weaver for what she's done to her... and Micah can be with his family again. The two of them form a plan, to use some of the discarded tech on Beast Island, as well as Micah's magic, to build a raft.
They are soon successful and manage to escape from Beast Island, however, their raft is caught in a storm... fortuantely for them, they are discovered by a sailor named Sea Hawk who gladly and proudly takes them to Salineas, hoping they can make their way to Micah's kingdom of Brightmoon from there.
However, upon making their way to Salineas, Princess Mermista is informed of terrible news. Brightmoon has fallen to the Horde and Queen Angella and her daughter have been captured. Before Catra can do anything... Salineas is then attacked by a Horde fleet... commanded by Adora.
Catra sees Adora and rushes onto the Horde flagship. Adora... is shocked to see Catra again. She had thought Catra had died on Beast Island years ago, Shadow Weaver having not erased her memory like in the previous version since well... she felt no need to. Catra was dealt with in her eyes.
However, as much as she is happy to see Catra... Adora has fully embraced her duty to the Horde. For Catra, her already weird adventure just got a lot more complicated.
===========
And that's the options I have so far! Again, do let me know if you want me to do more of these and if you wanna see these as fics at some point. Hope you enjoy my ideas!

I saw a post here on Tumblr once that went something like "in a world where god, Jesus, and the apostles are all men, that has to do something psychologically to women" and it made me think: The Netflix version of the show "She-Ra Princess of Power" is a show that is HEAVILY women centric. We know maybe three guys in power, King Micah (who, after his return from Beast Island, wasn't *really* in power), the head sorcerer in Mystacor, Hordak/Horde Prime. (please do correct me if I am wrong) The show, albeit about princesses, has the princesses have actual roles. Even the ones that are "weak" or perceived to be weaker than the others (read: Perfuma), are extremely powerful.
The two men whom we consistently meet in the show other than Hordak, Bow and Seahawk, are not the "macho man" in most shows. Seahawk sings an entire shanty as to how lonely he is and how he just wants to be friends with Mermista, and Bow cries and even hugs frequently all the other characters in the show. Both talk about their emotions and work through them in /relatively/ healthy ways (the Dragon's Daughters 1-3 will be sorely missed). My point being, is that the women in the show are shown as strong, beautiful, muscular, fierce, sad, frustrated, loving, traumatized, hurt, laughing, and more. They all have different body shapes/ types of bodies. There are three openly gay couples: Bow's dads, Spinerella and Netossa, and Catra and Adora. Incredible! In a kids show (and adults too lets be real) there are three openly gay couples. No one treats them any different. Bow is one of 13 kids of George and Lance. No one bats an eye. In fact, according to She-Ra Wiki page (https://she-raandtheprincessesofpower.fandom.com/wiki/LGBTQIAP%2B), so many characters are queer. Besides the ones listed above: - Scorpia and Perfuma are romantically involved - Bow is Bisexual - Glimmer is Bisexual - Mermista is Bisexual - Seahawk is Bisexual (dated Falcon) - Falcon is Gay - Lonnie is Poly and Bisexual (dating Rogelio and Kyle) - by extension Rogelio and Kyle are queer - Entrapta is bi - Jewelstar is trans - Peekablue is gender non-conforming - Double Trouble is nonbinary and there is MORE In the show, as there are a ton of non humans, almost any time we meet someone, she/her pronouns are used (see episodes when Best Friend Squad are in the crimson waste). Can't you see how amazing this is? A show where there are no one-dimensional characters, women are constantly having intelligent conversation with one another, women are leaders, women working together, openly queer characters, and a beautiful plot line where there's magic???? When the princesses work together, they turn into the colors of the rainbow and their powers are enhanced. Little girls are getting to see themselves as normal. Women aren't treated as secondary citizens. Hell, almost every Bright Moon guard we see is female. How would the world be different if shows like this were the norm? Where women are able to be magical, and they aren't dressed to show off their bodies? Where women's armor actually protects them? Where they grunt and are sweating after they fight? Where womens' love wins? Why can't this be normal? (Happy Pride!)

Anybody else ever think about how convenient it was that Micah, Scorpia, and Mermista were chipped in S5? You know, before the Best Friend Squad, Best Girl Entrapta, and Catra landed back on Etheria?
No seriously, how CONVENIENT that it was those three specifically that couldn’t interact freely one-on-one with Catra once she, the Best Friend Squad, and Best Girl Entrapta touched back down on Etheria. Catra caused Angella to be trapped between two dimensions, treated Scorpia like sh*t, and conquered Mermista’s kingdom. And yet Micah and Mermista never got to interact with her, and Scorpia just seemed to insta-forgive at the end of S5. Well, that’s not TOTALLY true, after being de-chipped Mermista looks around and sees Hordak and Catra and is like “So we’re just ok with this?”. The most reasonable question EVER.
So much was lost because Catra was not able to properly interact with these three (not to mention Glimmer only got to really interact with the father she lost at a young age RIGHT at the end). We see Catra apologizing to both Adora and Entrapta (not GOOD apologies where she acknowledges all she’s done against them and sincere remorse for her actions, but apologies nonetheless), but she never really does this with anybody else. She kind of tries with a chipped Scorpia, but the latter is chipped so that doesn’t go anywhere, and by the end she never even finished he apology before Scorpia hugged her.
No complicated feelings, no confrontations, no visible grudges being held (except for Perfuma in that one episode). But why, you ask, am I insisting upon this? Catra still apologized, or at least tried to, in Adora, Entrapta, and Scorpia’s cases. She doesn’t even really know Micah and Mermista anyway!
That’s kind of the point.
Catra only tries to apologize to those who she personally knew, she doesn’t actually acknowledge to harm she’s done to people outside of them. She never apologized for Angella, never apologized to Bow for all the things she did to him, heck she didn’t even try to apologize to Frosta for “ruining Princess Prom”. She just let Adora tell the others that she jumped sides and that she was cool now. And nobody really batted an eye (except for Perfuma in that one episode). Part of why Catra’s so-called redemption arcs sucks is because she’s barely made to really be confronted with all the bad she’s done, and try to atone for it.
Because she hurt EVERYBODY in the Princess Alliance in some way, and she doesn’t even offer a small apology? I know why Mermista and Micah especially were chipped, it’s because those two could hold a GRUDGE. We saw it with Mermista and Entrapta, and we saw it when Micah just glared at Shadow Weaver when he was saved by her. But of course, Catra’s “redemption arc” mostly revolves around ADORA, as does everything with her, especially because Catradora was shoved into S5 and they were sprinting to make that goal. You know, despite how that goal made no narrative sense, especially because before S5 Adora didn’t seem to have any romantic feelings for Catra, but that’s something for another time.
Anyway, Catra was barely made to acknowledge any wrong she had done to the supposed love of her life and the only two allies she had in the Horde. So it really doesn’t surprise me that she wasn’t made to acknowledge the wrong she did to everybody else (except Shadow Weaver, Catra didn’t have anything to apologize about there) by the writers. Catra was handled with kid gloves, and meanwhile Entrapta did NOT get that luxury.
I’m not saying Entrapta didn’t do anything wrong, but geez did the princesses hold more of a grudge for her than Catra. With some ableism splashed in there too, yikes. And yet, Entrapta actually worked on herself and did her best to atone. She risked her safety trying to get the location of Horde Prime’s ship, she tried to be more sensitive to other’s feelings. She fixed Mara’s ship so they could travel to space, she found a way to de-program the chips, she even visibly reined in her love and fascination for tech in order to get those chips off. Meanwhile, what did Catra do that showed that she was making a change to the Rebelion? To prove she was trying to atone?
The most she does is let them slip by without detection from HP’s forces, and that’s not even her doing, it’s MELOG’S!
Tl;Dr: Catra’s redemption was hastily done and poorly written. Nowhere can that be more found than the fact Micah, Scorpia, and Mermista were not able to confront her with their grievances and make her realize the affects she had on other people BESIDES those in her personal life

Five years ago today, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power premiered on Netflix. I had seen a few preview articles about it, and liked what I saw. Those articles mostly focused on She-Ra’s, Adora’s, Glimmer’s, Bow’s, and Catra’s redesigns, and I thought they were fabulous. I loved Adora’s new red jacket and bouffant hair style. Glimmer’s entire redesign was inspired, and I loved that they made Bow black so we could have more diversity in the main cast.
It was She-Ra’s and Catra’s redesigns that caught my eyes the most, though. They made Catra an actual catgirl, and not just in the anime sense where she's just a cute girl with cat ears and maybe a cat tail. She was a full-on furry. It was a brilliant design choice. Honestly it’s no wonder that so many were instantly drawn to her.
And of course, She-Ra herself. I loved her new look, and her huge ass new Sword of Protection. In fact, I loved it so much that I drew this picture of her before the show even came out:

Then the show came out, and needless to say, I fell in love. And honestly, it changed my life.
I know, I know. That sounds very hyperbolic, and to an extent it is, but in a lot of ways, I’m absolutely serious.
Alright, I have to back up a little. Back when I was in college, and for a few years after, a couple of friends and I tried to make a webcomic called The Devil’s Gate. It was minorly successful but eventually floundered. Then I met some people and we tried to make a video game, which also failed. After those few years, I found myself on my own and trying to rework the concept of my webcomic. Making comics, creating stories, those have always been my dream, and I was desperately trying to figure out a story I could make work, something that I believed in. But it never truly got off the ground. By the end of 2015 I had given up on the comic, realizing that after working on it for years in different forms that I needed to step away from it.
I didn’t really know what to do after that. I was still doing my quick daily doodles, but I wasn’t writing, I wasn’t drawing anything of note. I felt emotionally and physically drained of my creativity. I was honestly getting to the point where I thought it might be time for me to give up on trying to be creative or making things all together.
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power came out on November 13, 2018, but despite looking forward to it, I didn’t actually watch it when it came out. It wasn’t until that weekend that I decided to check it out.
I was instantly hooked. I binged through the entire season in two days, and did plenty of crying and cheering. And then rewatched it immediately. I was in love. I was obsessed. It had been a long time since anything grabbed me like SPOP did. I loved the characters. I loved the colorful, sci-fi-fairy tale world of Etheria. I loved how unapologetically feminine it was. And most of all, I loved how queer it was.
I hadn’t done a ton of shipping before SPOP. I’ve been down bad for harlivy for what feels like my whole life, and I was angry when Mika and HG didn’t get together in Warehouse 13, but more often than not I had just been conditioned not to look for queer things in mainstream culture, and even barely in subculture.
That is to say, when I was smashed in the face with Catradora I was surprised how much I glommed onto it immediately. I was absolutely taken with Adora and Catra and their relationship. Both characters were so relatable, and despite not quite being text (although the subtext was so loud and obvious it might as well have been text), it was impossible to not read their feelings for each other as romantic.
It wasn’t just Catradora, even if that was a lot of it. Spinnerella and Netossa being canon from the start was wonderful. How much Glimmer and Bow screamed “BISEXUAL DISASTERS” from the start was adorable. Scorpia’s crush on Catra was as cute as it was sad in its one-sidedness.
I had never really been in a fandom. That is, yeah I’ve liked things, loved things even, but I never found other people to talk about it at length, never found discords just for that thing, never read or wrote fanfic, barely ever drew fanart.
But, I watched SPOP, and then I watched it again. And then I drew Catra. And then I drew Adora. And then I drew them again. And suddenly I was on AO3, a site I never frequented, reading Catradora fics. And then I had an AO3 account. That December I participated in Catradora Week 2018 (I’d never heard of this kind of thing) and drew two pictures for it and wrote my first fanfic.
By the end of February I had drawn more in the three months since the show had premiered than I had in the previous year. I was working furiously on a long, multi-chapter fanfic, and writing more words than I had in the previous couple of years combined.
I was inspired again.
In the 18 months that SPOP ran for, I drew more than I had in years, I wrote hundreds of thousands of words. I felt so rejuvenated and happy about my creativity and free for the first time in years.
It’s hard to put into words exactly how it felt. I was so close to giving up my art and writing, which honestly, would have been giving up a part of myself. An important part of myself. It’s not overstating that SPOP saved me, or at least my creative spirit.
I also learned about the wonders of being in a fandom and fandom things like fan weeks, big bangs, zines. And I made some wonderful friends that I cherish to this day.
Even as I inevitably moved onto other hyperfixations, my love for She-Ra hasn’t diminished. Plushie Catra and Adora sit next to me on my desk every day. Catradora art still hangs on my wall.
The inspiration that SPOP ignited in me hasn’t died either. It’s carried me through a tremendous level of creativity that I’ve been riding since the premiere. It let me create a ton of fan art for SPOP, and then RWBY and then the Witch From Mercury, and I’ve written a ton of fanfics for RWBY and Supergirl. And perhaps the best, that inspiration has helped me create more OC stuff in the last couple years than I had in a long time.
I owe She-Ra and The Princesses of Power so much. I am so happy that it exists and that it happened when it did. I’ll always cherish it.
And for real, Netflix, SPOP spin-off movies WHEN?!

She-Ra fics I consider canon
Hey gang! here's a list of (mostly post-canon) fics I've read over the years that are I feel are well written and in character enough that they could be canon to the show, and to an extent, each other! I put the list in order for anyone who wants to read it like a season 6 :D
Don't Go - extended version of scenes in S5E5 and S5E6. Written by ND Stevenson so is basically already canon. Angst and fluff
Daylight - picks up a day after the s5 finale. Catra & Adora begin to really understand that they're free to live a peaceful life. Tooth rotting fluff.
Pros & Cons (NSFW) - Bow and Glimmer seem joined to Adora at the hip 24/7, and Catra just wants to make out with her girlfriend. Has a couple lines that could be seen as contradictory or foreshadowing to Carry our Bodies. Mostly 3/4ths fluff, 1/4th smut.
Carry our Bodies Safe to Shore - Adora finds an old Horde incident report, and Catra has to tell Adora about the kiss that Shadow Weaver erased from her memory. Angst and fluff.
Keep on Walking, Come What Will - Adora & Catra accidentally get engaged. Pure fluff
Alternatively, Princess Prom 2.0 (One Year Later) - Adora & Catra get engaged on purpose. Pure fluff
^ honestly, I reconcile these two by head canon-ing that the "accidental engagement," happens at the impromptu princess prom and then they get too busy for a wedding and then the on purpose engagement happens at the real princess prom, because both are so well written and so in character.
Anachronism (and sequel) - Adora & Catra get traumatized again while rescuing Angella.
^ (Fic is pretty good, mostly on here because I haven't found any fit that does "rescuing Angella" better, lmk if you have any recs!). Angst and Fluff. I don't think there's any NSFW but it's a long fic and it's been a while since I read it.
If anyone has any other recommendations for this list please leave them in the replies! I would love to expand this list until I have a sixth season worth of content!! (also only one NSFW fic rn cause I mostly read fluff lol but if anyone has NSFW recs that feel canon send those as well!)
Addition 1: honorable mention for Breathing Room by ResFlower because it is almost IDENTICAL to a scene from one of the others where Catra has to break it to Adora that their fight in the Red Waste was actually Double Trouble.

Rewatch Rambles (TM) - Season 1
Sword pt. 1 The show both starts and ends with Adora getting ready for the day.
Side note: Oh god look at my exhausted grown-up scrunkle. The changes in how they animate the chars to show them growing up are subtle but really apparent when u put them side by side.
I'm not going to talk about the locker scene bc I already have done an extensive analysis of it here but yeah that scene is incredible visual storytelling.
There is one thing I didn't comment there though, which is Catra's reaction to Adora calling her disrespectful and just A U G H look at this face please
Catra's genuinely so hurt like "is that what you think of me?" :(
Also Catra is legit so touchy with Adora, there’s like 30 seconds of the episode where she’s not touching her and it's cuz she's rightfully angry at Adora calling her disrespectful to excuse SW's abuse. Girlie looks for ANY excuse to touch oh my god. And she barely reacts to when Adora puts a hand over her mouth to prevent the patrol bot from noticing them. Like she really is SO comfortable around Adora, she completely trusts her.
Like she's a little annoyed and confused about it, but the fact that she trusts Adora enough to do things like this is NUTS, especially with how touch-averse she is with other people. And then the gentle chest touch. PLEEK, my blorbo looks for any excuse to touch Adora asjkhdjks.
Actually on that note I'm starting a straddling/pin-down counter on this rewatch. This episode has two so SC = 2
Oh god, going back to Adora sneaking out, she says one thing of like “I want to check this thing out, it feels important to me” and Catra is I M M E D I A T E L Y like “yep whatever is important to you is important to me, let’s go check it out”
and Adora, because she knows how much Catra gets in trouble for like, existing, tells her to not go with her so Catra doesn’t get in trouble due to her. But like no matter what she does, Catra WILL get in trouble. She would actually get in less trouble by going with her but Adora think she’s protecting her NGHHHHH I WANT TO BITE MY ARM OFF AND THEN ADORA GIVES CATRA THE REASSURING SHOULDER TOUCH (™) to get her to stay.
And you can tell how hurt Catra is by Adora making that decision for her bc again, she feels that condescension. Everybody sing with me 🎵 it's the catradora miscommunication special 🎵
I LOVE how they show the difference in the rebellion and the horde by making Bow and Glimmer kind of incompetent in the fight against Adora. Bc the horde is literally an army that trains children to be soldiers, whereas the rebellion is fighting out of necessity and don’t necessarily have formal training. It makes sense Hordak knows how to train cadets bc of how many planets he helped conquer.
Like these children just YELL LMFAO
Also I always forget that Bow straight up does not trust Glimmer’s judgment during the first season-ish and he’s like actually passive aggressive to her, esp first few eps.
Anyway that's the first episode, this is going to take forever but I am enjoying myself.

adora
adora is literally feral sometimes
(all the time)
since she grew up in the horde, she has little to no social skills when you first meet her
so don’t even try making any sarcastic jokes or references to the rest of etheria because she will not understand lol
she eventually grows used to things outside of the horde and the two of you became fast friends
but then, one day, she watches you give a horde soldier a black eye
and there’s a little flutter in her stomach
she subtly brings it up to bow, who says she just had a case of butterflies, which was probably a mistake because she always takes things way too literally
so for a solid month, she’s convinced she has actual butterflies in her stomach that just won’t leave
eventually, though, they overwhelm her and she kisses you in the heat of battle
from then on, you’re a package deal
where you go, she goes
trails behind you like a lost puppy sometimes
soft adora fans rise!
catra
catra is hard to understand most of the time
one second, she’s solely focused on you
and the next, she’s on a rampage
sorry to say but a relationship with her would not be easy to maintain. it would take a lot of work on both sides
she’d need to control her impulsive temper and you’d need to have a very empathetic heart
once things settle down and she becomes friends with adora again, all that stress is lifted from her shoulders
she becomes kinder, more considerate, and softness envelopes her heart
even though you’ve told her a million times that her past mistakes are not a reflection of her current self, she continues trying to make up for them
but of course, this is catra we’re talking about
she often gives you new weapons, always opposed to more traditional items
your personal favorite being a twin set of razor-sharp daggers, which made your eyes glimmer with excitement upon opening them
she was proud of herself for that one
what she offers the most, however, is loyalty
she has betrayed and has been betrayed so many times that she swears to never do so again
she hopes you’ll do the same. because if you stick by her through thick and thin, she’ll eventually open up
all she needs is time
perfuma
super kind and very affectionate, even when you’re still “just friends” (side eye bc that doesn’t last long lol)
be prepared because you’ll constantly be smothered in affection by perfuma
if you have any elemental powers, like pyromancy, she’ll only love you more since that’s one more thing you both have in common
her love language is touch, no doubt, 100%
she’s constantly giving you warm hugs and squeezing your hand so tight that it goes numb
you can’t resist kissing her whenever she smiles at you with sparkling eyes and pink cheeks
always giving one another sweet compliments you greet each other
you can trust her no matter what. she’d never cause you pain and would be haunted by regret if she did
seriously, i don’t think she’d ever forgive herself
she’s just so loyal to the people she loves, especially you
you better like flowers because you’ll be getting fresh bouquets every day for the rest of your life
god i love her so much

"You just hate that Catra got a redemption arc!"
Wrong.
I hate that Catra got a bad redemption arc. Where everyone is just suddenly cool with her because she gave a very unconvincing and very unspecific apololgy. Once.
S1-4 actually did a good job of setting it up. It's made clear multiple times that, yes, while Catra did have a shitty childhood and most of her issues can be chalked up to Shadow Weaver being a horrible mother, it still doesn't mean she's automatically in the right. Both the narrative and the characters contiuously call Catra out on her actions and on her insistence that everything bad she does is actually someone else's fault. Adora literally gets a whole-ass speech in the s3 finale where she tells Catra that, no, the bad things Catra has done and does aren't on Adora, or Hordak, or even Shadow Weaver - it's on Catra. It's always been on Catra. She doesn't get to pretend to be a victim. She made her choice. And she has to live with that. S4 has Double Trouble repeat those exact same points word for word.
S5 is where Stevenson completely fumbled it. Because starting with s5, Catra is suddenly absolved of the most important thing in a redemption arc: Taking accountability.
"But Celty," I hear you say, "Catra does take accountability! She apologizes to the people she's hurt! She says she's working on her anger issues!"
Yeah, one measly "uwu I'm sowwy" isn't enough to make up for, let's see: kidnapping, torture, attemtped murder, actual murder, attemtpted genocide, actual genocide and years upon years of physical and emotional abuse.
Two characters in the cast react to Catra suddenly showing up in Camp Good Guy like they should: Frosta and Netossa. And both are immediately convinced that Catra is actually nice now, because Adora said so and so all is forgiven. No need for Catra to actually work to earn these people's trust. No reason to elaborate on how complicated Catra's sheer presence must make everything, because how are the Princesses supposed to feel about suddenly having to work with the ex-leader of the Horde? The woman who took an active part in attacking and destroying their kingdoms?
Other SPOP crits have pointed this out, but it's very convenient that both Scorpia and Mermista, two people Catra has hurt in a far more personal manner, (the destruction of Salineas and the continued abuse toward Scorpia) are chipped and therefor absent from the Good Guy team once Catra and the Best Friend Squad return to Etheria. Once again, Catra is absolved of having to put any work into redeeming herself. Even when everyone unites in the finale, Catra doesn't get to apologize to Scorpia because Scorpia forgets all her character development from s4 and just hugs Catra like nothing bad ever happened between them. Mermista meanwhile is stuck making a joke about Hordak just being let off the hook for war crimes, which is doubly ironic because Catra is right fucking there being portrayed as an uwu poor kitty-cat. We don't get to see how Mermista feels about the woman who destroyed her homeland suddenly being acquitted because she's She-Ra's girlfriend now. Let's not even start with the non-reaction Entrapta has to seeing Catra again. Catra, who Entrapta genuinely believed was her friend, and who not only had her shipped off to Beast Island and, in her mind, certain death, but also let Hordak, who Entrapta had a bond with, believe that Entrapta betrayed and abandoned him. Gentle reminder that Entrapta was so heartbroken about the fact that she really was abandoned on Beast Island by everyone that she started to succumb to the signal in an instant and would have actually died if Bow hadn't snapped her out of it with her hyperfixation. Gentle reminder that Entrapta is capable of holding a grudge, as in s3 she calls Adora out for seemingly having left her behind in the Fright Zone. But because it's Catra, suddenly Entrapta magically doesn't mind having to tend to the woman who shocked her unconscious and had her shipped off to a violent death.
Oh and let's not forget the elephant in the room: Not once, in the entirety of s5 does Catra ever take responsibility for killing Angella. Glimmer suddenly forgets all about Catra being the one who indirectly murdered Angella. She doesn't bring it up once and instead is slowly browbeaten into making nice with Catra through solitary confinement. The Glimmer/Catra friendship in s5 is so forced and so out of nowhere. Bow also forgets that Catra kidnapped him and his best friend/love interest to the Fright Zone and that because of her, Glimmer was suffering from her powers going haywire for quite a while, which, may I remind you, left her with spasms painful enough to have her writhing on the floor unable to move. What is Bow's reaction to Catra when she joins the team? To gush about how cute her sneeze is. I hate it here.
As for the whole "she's working on herself" - no she isn't.
S5 Catra is the exact same person as s1-3 Catra. Only now she gets away with her bs because the writers decided she's a good guy now.
S5 Catra is still a violent, self-serving, abusive asshole. She still blames others for her fuck-ups, still resorts to verbal and physical abuse to deal with her emotions, still would rather have the entire world destroyed than have Adora's world not revolve solely around her. Honestly, Catra saying that she always loved Adora is laughable, because like an episode earlier she left Adora in the woods, crying her eyes out and begging for Catra to stay, during possibly the hardest time of Adora's life. "But she came back!1!!" She came back after, once again, making Adora feel like absolute shit for trying to save people. Not to mention one of the reasons Adora was so deadset on stopping Horde Prime, even at the cost of her own life, was that Catra literally begged her to. Catra told Adora that if Horde Prime wasn't stopped, they'd all be looking toward a fate worse than death. Then suddenly towards the finale, Catra changes her tune and whines that Adora has decided to take the Heart, making it out like Adora just loves playing hero, when the show literally spells it out that Adora is the only one who can do this. Everyone else would literally die if they took the Heart. Adora/She-Ra is the last hope Etheria, no, the universe has at this point. Again, that's not just in Adora's head, that's something the plot itself confirms over and over again. But we're still supposed to side with Catra when she pushes Adora into the dirt and victim-blames her.

if the show utilized Adora's knowledge on the Horde, she could've had some of the coolest planning // action // combat scenes.
for example, i was imagining a scenario where the Horde has civilians captive and our heroes are on a time crunch before the innocents become husks, so fighting isn't an option. they have to be careful, invisible, unseen and unheard.
Adora knows there are exactly 10,001 soldiers making rotations every 10 minutes ( Bow makes a question of why that specific number and she simply says "precautions" before resuming ), and that every possible opening is covered by tight security, except one. the ventilation system.
"our only problem will be Catra and Shadow Weaver. i'm not sure of Catra's activity since we last saw each other, but i don't want to give her a chance to spring on us. with her senses, she can sniff us out, so we could use mog and water to throw off her sense of smell. as for hearing, we'll have to avoid common rooms she'd be in, to reduce as much risk as possible. luckily, there's not many. she's not the strongest or fastest, but she's unpredictable and stubborn. i can handle her, but it'd just be easier to avoid her."
and for Shadow Weaver:
"Shadow Weaver's our biggest problem. she can see through the dark, manipulate you with her mind games, and is a powerful sorceress. when she detects us, and she will, Glimmer, you need to turn us invisible. can you do that?"
Glimmer nods, a determined grin on her face. "absolutely."
"good. a weakness of hers is that her magic requires build-up. it's why it's so powerful. worst case scenario, we have a few seconds to completely disarm her and knock her down, but that is the absolute last resort, and not something we should sought after. Shadow Weaver's unforgiving and merciless. one wrong move, and you could be finished. i've seen it myself. so, no matter what, do everything you can to stay hidden."
some other things, location of the civilians, how to get there, etc., etc.
'Roll With It' was a terrible episode, and a lot of it was because no one but Adora was taking the war seriously, but she was treated like she was overreacting for doing so. they had barely survived the Battle of Brightmoon, yet it changes nothing.
Adora should've been offering suggestions in plans from the start to eventually being in charge, given all her knowledge, but it was used maybe only twice, and that was in the first two seasons.
like, Vi's streetsmarts and living in Zaun helped her navigate, blend in, and know how to get information. she's more than just muscles.
and so is Adora, but SPOP ( neither the show or fandom ) hardly ever cared about that. because she doesn't have knowledge of certain things, due to being sheltered, and sometimes mispronounces certain things ( which everyone does ), she's suddenly seen as dumb.
she doesn't have knowledge of parties, then she's a cute dummy.
Catra doesn't have knowledge of parties, then it's suddenly important that she was sheltered and that her excitement is both adorable and sad.

Worth Asking | Adora x fem!reader
Pairings: Adora x reader (romantic), Bow x reader (platonic), Glimmer x Adora (platonic)
Type of fic: Comedy, Comfort
Warnings: None
Summary: You and Adora have been together for quite some time now - years - and eventually she decided that it’s time to take a step further, but she sure as hell is terrefied of asking you.
—————————
Adora was pacing. Again.
Back and forth, back and forth, her boots scuffing against Glimmer’s bedroom floor as she clutched a small velvet box so tightly that her knuckles had turned white.
Glimmer, seated on the edge of her bed, had long since given up trying to track Adora’s movements. Instead, she sighed dramatically and flopped back against her pillows. “Adora, you’re going to wear a hole in my floor.”
“I know,” Adora groaned, stopping for all of two seconds before resuming her frantic pacing. “I know, I know—I just—I don’t know!”
Glimmer sat back up, raising an eyebrow. “You don’t know?”
Adora let out a frustrated noise, rubbing a hand down her face. “I mean, I do know! I know I want to do this—I want to marry her, I want to spend my life with her, I just—what if she doesn’t? What if she says no? What if she thinks it’s too soon, or—or she’s not ready, or what if I totally mess up the proposal, or—”
Glimmer rolled her eyes. “Adora.”
Adora kept going, starting to ramble even faster. “Or what if she was thinking about it but then she sees how much of a mess I am and decides she doesn’t want to marry someone who freaks out over—”
“Adora!”
Adora jolted as Glimmer suddenly zapped in front of her, grabbing her shoulders and shaking her lightly. “Breathe!”
Adora sucked in a sharp breath, her heart hammering.
Glimmer gave her a flat look. “You do realize she’s literally in love with you, right?”
Adora opened her mouth, hesitating. “I mean—”
“She loves you, Adora. You guys have been together for years. She’s not going to say no.”
Adora groaned, squeezing her eyes shut. “I know. I know. It’s just—this is huge. And she deserves something perfect, and—” She looked down at the small box in her hands, turning it over anxiously. “What if I ruin it?”
Glimmer sighed, letting go of Adora’s shoulders to sit back down. “You’re overthinking this. Just tell her how you feel, and ask. That’s it.”
Adora stared at the box, her thumb brushing over the smooth surface.
Just ask.
It should be that simple.
Meanwhile, in Bow’s room, things were much more… relaxed.
You were sprawled out on the floor, your back against the edge of his bed, lazily tossing a small pillow into the air while Bow sat cross-legged beside you, working on some gadget. The two of you had been talking about nothing in particular for the past hour, shifting from one topic to the next with no real direction.
At some point, between a discussion about weird Horde rations and a random debate over whether Swift Wind or Mermista was more dramatic, you sighed, stretching your arms over your head.
“You know,” you mused, tilting your head toward Bow. “I really want to marry Adora one day.”
Bow nearly fumbled his gadget, blinking at you. “Wait, what?”
You shrugged, a small, warm smile on your face. “I dunno, I was just thinking about it. We’ve been together so long, and—I mean, I love her, you know? I can’t imagine not being with her forever.”
Bow set down his tools, grinning. “Okay, wow. Do you think she’d say yes if you proposed?”
You laughed. “Oh, absolutely. I mean, Adora’s terrible at hiding how much she loves me. She’d probably cry the second I asked.”
Bow chuckled. “You should tell her that.”
You hummed, tapping your chin in thought. “Maybe. Or maybe she’ll propose to me first.”
Bow smirked. “What if she’s planning it right now?”
You snorted. “I doubt it. If she were, she’d probably be freaking out and overthinking every little detail.”
Meanwhile, in Glimmer’s room—
Adora had resumed pacing.
It took Glimmer physically shoving her out of the room for Adora to finally work up the nerve to find you.
Her heart was pounding as she walked down the hall, her fingers clenched so tightly around the ring box that she worried she might crush it.
But then she saw you.
You were still in Bow’s room, laughing about something, and the second Adora saw the way your eyes lit up, the way your smile made her chest ache in the best way—
The nerves melted away.
Glimmer was right. She just had to ask.
And she knew—
You would say yes.

Adora meeting the Emperor of Mankind(aka her "father")
Adora stood steadfast upon the grassy hill. To her back, the fighting force of Brightmoon's elite gaurd stood ready. To her side stood her friends the Princesses of Etheria along with master archer Bow and swashbuckler extraordinaire Seahawk. Upon her arm was her beloved, the feirce and formidable Catra.
They all studied what hung in the Etherian sky before them. It was what caused the call to action, what brought the entirety of the plantes' defences to this spot. A fleet of well equipped battle starships.
They hovered in Etheria's outer atmosphere. They had appeared two days ago. At first, they were specks on the horizon, but as they drew nearer, the Alliance of Princesses grew concerned. Entrapta and Hordak had engineered an "orbital scanner" to make out what Etheria was dealing with.
When they finally got a scan, a war council was called at once. Glimmer decided to ready her kingdom's forces and urged a preemptive strike. Adora quelled this idea at first but did ultimately decide to amass the armies. But they would only retaliate, not strike first. There was no way of knowing the newcomers' intentions. They could be friendly.
Adora thought back on her optimistic perspective. The imposing nature of these starships didn't exactly breed comfort for her.
She looked back on her troops, all awaiting her command. She then looked to her friends, who she towered over. It had been some time since the defeat of Horde Prime and the restoration of peace on Etheria.
In that time, Adora had begun to grow, and she grew taller, stronger. She found her form slowly evolving into a perfect mix of her shera form and her more casual Adora form.
Catra only came up to her waist, if that. Adora had begun to curse her matured size, but ultimately, right now, in the face of a probable invasion, she was thankful for it.
Adora's attention snapped back as bow called out a smaller ship desending from the sky.
It was an ornate ship, well crafted, and Entrapta swooned as it approached. It landed ceremonially a fair distance from adora and the front line. Glimmer gave the order to ready an attack. Adora held up her hand, belaying the order.
"Not Yet." She scolded her friend. " Let's see who or what we're dealing with first."
Glimmer pouted but complied, resending her order. Her eagerness to end a conflict fast and without considering the repercussions had burned her before.
A ramp descended from the ship. Out of the bowels of this magnificent beast marched two parallel lines of golden armoured soldiers, each one twice the height of any Etheiran. There were twelve warriors in total, each equipped with an oddly shaped spear.
Then He exited the ship.
A mountain of a man, dressed head to toe in the finest most meticulously detailed armour anyone had ever seen. Only his head was bare of any armour. His raven hair flowed like a dark river in the cool breeze. His face was structured like a statue. Every detail looked unreal. His eyes at first glowed with golden light but then softened as he approached.
Brilliant sapphire eyes met Adora's own. They looked familiar.
"Who are you? And what do you want?" Adora spoke plainly. She would not be disarmed by this stranger's show of strength.
The stranger did not speak for several minutes. He took in his surroundings, his assessed his potential advisories, and he gazed upon his...
"I am The Emperor of Mankind. And I am here to reunite with one I lost long ago."
He stared at Adora for an uncomfortably long moment.
"And who exactly are you looking for?" Glimmer broke the silence.
The Emperor, not even glancing at the small queen, answered. "I have travelled across the stars seeking that which was stolen from me. My daughter."
A quiet air conquered the space. It was interpreted by Adora
"Whatwasthatnow?"
The Emperor smirked. "I have come for you. My daughter. To reunite and bring you with me on my grand crusade to reunite all of our people. To save ourselves and create a new dawn for galaxy. One of peace and hope. Not unlike what you have accomplished here." He spread out his hands gesturing to the world around them.
All of Etheria stood confused. This was not what any of them were expecting. Adora was speechless. Her mind tumbled and turned at the revelation before her.
"Father?" Adora breathed to herself. "No." She said bluntly. Much to the Emperor's and everyone elses surprise.
The Emperor did not miss a beat. "I know how uncertain you must feel, but come let me show you." He extended a hand and approached Adora.
But before he got more than a few steps closer, Catra put herself between her dear wife and this giant golden lunatic. She snarled and hissed, drawing her claws, tensing her muscles for a leap.
At the sudden threat, the golden solders all levelled their spears at Catra. In turn, the soldiers of bright moon readied their glaves, the Princesses each summoned up their elemental powers. It would be a massacre.
But then the Emperor held aloft his hand and halted the shedding of unnecessary blood. His custodians returned to a calmer state and lowered their weapons. He did this all while keeping his true attention on Adora.
"I will not fight you, daughter. That is not why I came."
Adora mirrored his motion to calm her friends.
The Emperor then shifted his gaze down to the felinid warrior who enterposed herself between the two of them.
"I came to broker peace and, in all honesty, to ask for your aid." his un blinking eyes never left catra despite still only addressing Adora. "I seek no ill will."
Adora's hand gently rested on Catra's shoulder, causing her to break her staring contest with the golden god. She looked up to her wife. No words were exchanged as Adora's hand raised to cup Catra's cheek. Catra reluctantly nodded, and Adora returned the gesture certain.
Catra stepped aside, but her cold killing gaze never left the exposed head of the Emperor.
Adora stepped forward. "Let's say I believe you. Let's say you really are my father. That doesn't mean I should trust you. Not yet, at least. You gave me up. You weren't there when i needed you. And now that I've found my own way. Made my own family. You come and ask something of me?"
Adora's expression hardened, "If you really are my father, why now? And more importantly, why the Battlion? You say you came looking for me to broker peace. But you come with soldiers and tanks? Not exactly the reunion a daughter would hope for."
The Emperor chose his next words carefully. "My daughter. Adora. These guns, these weapons, they are not meant for you or your people." He gestured to the armada, "The road to find you was treacherous. Among the stars, there are very few safe havens and many enemies."
"These weapons, like your own," he gestured to Adora's allies, "are for protection and justice. To free the oppressed and safeguard the weak. No more blood need be spilt than is nessasary."
Adoras' face slackened a bit, but the Emperor knew he had to show her first hand his vision.
He offered his hand once more, "Let me show you, please." His face was pleading.
Adora looked back a final time at her friends, each of them showing their disapproval and fear for her safety. She looked now to Catra, who stood ready should anything unexpected happen. Adora could practically see Catra daring the Emperor to give her an excuse.
Adora's eyes returned to the large outstretched palm, then to his blue eyes that she matched the ones she saw every morning in the mirror.
She took his hand like she was tearing off a bandage.
The visions came fast. Adora saw worlds in chains and the innocent slaughtered. She saw worlds on the brink of collapse, but then she was shown these same worlds transformed. Green pastures littered with cattle. Rebuilt thriving cities. Smiling children and hopeful parents.
The Emperor knew what to show Adora. He had specifically chosen the worlds that openly surrendered without much of a fuss. Worlds where diplomacy outweighed the wars that would have waged.
He had elected worlds brought to compliance by Sanguinius, Horus, Fulgrim, and Guilliman. He avoided the pitiful shrine worlds of Lorgar or the fear infested steets that Curze would leave in his wake. He also made desperately sure Adora never knew of the worlds drowned by Angron in their own blood.
He showed Adora the efficient system of Ultramar, the peace of Prospero, and finally, the jewel of the Imperium, Great Terra.
Then he showed her... the incident. Adora received flashes of the desert woman screaming, acting eradic. Adora couldn't hear anything, so she watched as the woman ranted and yelled. Eventually, there was a flash of light, and all the children and the woman were gone.
Then he showed her curated peaces of his own memory.
Adora saw herself and her brothers in test tubes. She watched the embrieos grow. She watched as they were all born. Swaddled by a woman wrapped in traditional dessert fashion.
The lab was in shambles, and scorchmarks stained the once muted chrome. It wasn't his fault. She betrayed him. She gave up Adora and her brothers. But he would find them and reunite his family."
Adora let go of her father's hand with a gasp. Tears followed down her face. She looked back up to the Emperor.
"You see now, Adora? I mean you no harm. I'm sorry I could not be there to hold you up. I'm sorry it took so long to find you. But I do want you to know how proud I am of you. You have succeeded where lessers would have failed." He made a grand sweep gesture.
"You brought peace to this world. You healed it. You did what was necessary but never compromised the people you held closest. You chose to save them, and that is all I can ask of you."
Adora now looked to the Emperor with admiration. But she still had a few queries she needed answered. "I have brothers? What are they like? Who was that woman? Why did she do that? Why did you both make us?" She began to cry
Catra was at her side in a moment. "Hey, Adora. It's okay. Im here, breath." Bow and Glimmer were not far behind. Eventually, her whole entourage was with her.
The Emperor to his credit was far more intrigued by his daughters compaions than he initially been. They genuinely cared for her, and she held her position of power out of love and loyalty.
Adora wiped her eyes and steadied herself. She then took on her serious tone and spoke in no uncertain terms.
"I want answers to who that woman was, why she did it, who my brothers are, you get the idea. You will leave Etheria untouched and their government in order. Finally, my friends are coming with me. This is non-negotiable," Cheers and shouts of agreement come from the princesses and others. "We do everything together, and even if I tried to leave without them. Let's just say I wouldn't be able to.
"If I go with you, if I join in your crusade. If I go and help all these people who are hurting. I want three things in return."
The Emperor nodded. 'Finally,' he thought, 'the negotiations.'
The Emperor stayed silent for a long time, considering the wants of his daughter. He looked across at the mutated inhabitants of Etheria. Of the very warp Infested environment they stood in. But he did let Lorgar keep Monarchia.
"Your requests are reasonable. Each shall be granted so long as you forswear your loyalty to me and the crusade. That you will do what is necessary to save the worlds that need you. To bring peace, prosperity, and unity to this galaxy."
"Then I guess I foreswear it."
"Very well. I shall return with your legion in a fortnight," he looked to Adora then to her companions, "Ensure you are all ready by then."
He marched back to his ship, and Adora called one final question to him. "What do you mean 'my legion'?"
The Emperor stopped at the end of the ramp. He look over his shoulder, "I made each of my children a legion to aid them in this crusade. Made from your own genetic code. They are as much sons to you as you are a daughter to me.
Without another word, he casually ascended the ramp fallowed by his golden warriors. Adora and the others were left speechless and confused once more as the ship returned to the heavens.
( First, thank you for reading all the way to the end!!!!
I am super open to criticism, I know I'm not the strongest writer, and I hope I captured enough of each of the characters' personalities. Please let me know hat you think. In either a reblog or comments!!!
I wanted to age up the SPOP crew just a little and progress their individual lives some. Also, yes, I did take some liberties with Adora/She-ra's form .
Finally, I apologise if you feel I misrepresented either property, I love them both so much, but it has been a little bit since I've sat down and watched shera in its entirety. I prob am gonna do that soon, but who knows. Depression a bitch.)

Future Spop couples headcannons!! (not all the couples, just some)
Starting off with Catradora Obv 😉
They end up getting married about four years after the war ends (when Catra is 22 and Adora is 23). Adora tried really hard to keep it a secret that she was proposing but Catra figured it out immediately.
Adora had told Catra they were going on a walk and then getting brunch and so at first Catra didn't expect anything, but then Adora walked out in a suit and Catra immediately was like "Oh, so this is happening" because who the fuck wears a suit to go on a walk at 8 am?
Once they were engaged, they had only been wedding planning for like a week before they both decided "fuck it. lets just elope". And so they did. Glimmer and Bow were the only one's present (and Swiftwind + Melog)
They love being able to say they are each others wife. They use any excuse to say "my wife".
Ex:
"Adora, are you free tonight?" "I don't know let me ask my WIFE."
"Wow, Catra. Your actually early." "Well, y'know the WIFE loves to keep me on schedule."
They went on a really really long honeymoon. Ended up traveling all over Etheria to places they had never been before.
As soon as they got back to Brightmoon they started trying for a baby. They thought they wanted to wait, but changed their minds.
Glimbow:
They got married like SOON after the war ended. I'm talking like three months. Everyone was wondering what the rush was, but they simply just loved each other and knew they were gonna get married eventually, so why not now?
No proposal, they both just kinda decided it one night.
They actually had to have an elaborate wedding. The Queen getting married was kinda a big deal. Glimmer sometimes wished she could have a simple wedding, but she ended up being glad she and Bow had a big ceremony and reception. It was one of the most fun nights of her life.
Micah walked her down the aisle and gave the most heartwarming speech at the reception.
Adora was Glimmers Maid of Honor and Seahawk was Bows best man.
The ceremony invited all the citizens of Brightmoon, but the reception was for close friends and family only. Chaos ensued.
Adora, Glimmer, and Scorpia were tearing up the dance floor
Entrapta was conducting a "social experiment"
Catra ended up getting drunk with Micah of all people (you can imagine the look on Adora and Glimmers faces when they see Catra and Micah taking shots at the bar together)
Mermista was just watching all the Chaos happen. And probably stopping her boyfriend from lighting something on fire.
With Glimmer and Bow having royal duties to attend to, they only took a two week long honeymoon.
They waited until they were in their thirties to have children.
Scorfuma:
They didn't start actually dating until a year after the war. They had been flirty and had caught feelings not long after the war, but never did anything about it until Pefruma approached Scorpia about it. Happiest day of Scorpia's life...until they got married.
They dated for like seven years before getting married. Scorpia was so nervous to propose. Not because she thought Perfuma would say no, she knew she'd say yes. She just wanted everything to be perfect. Scorpia proposed at sunset on a romantic boat ride down the river. It was absolutely perfect.
They had a small garden wedding, only a few guests. Catra and Entrapta were Scorpia's Maids of Honor. To everyone's surprise (except Adora's) Catra cried BUCKETS at the ceremony. Scorpia had the sweetest vows.
Perfuma and Scorpia did the "first look" thing before the ceremony. They both sobbed when they saw each other.
Catradoras baby was the flower kid
They had a baby girl two years after they got married
Seamista:
Everyone was always asking them when they were gonna "tie the knot"
Eventually, they both decided marriage just wasn't for them. They loved each other and wanted to be together, but they didn't see the need for legal documents or a fancy label.
No children for them. They love the child free life. But they are the best Aunt and Uncle to their honorary nieces and nephews.

I have a question about Catradora, what do you think of the argument that they were in a war and were enemies?
i think i've talked about this before but i don't mind saying it again. the whole “they were enemies” argument doesn't work for three reasons:
1. there was a huge power dynamic between catra and adora.
in any other case, enemies are usually neck and neck. even if one of the characters is weaker than the other, there is still the same level of animosity towards each other. sometimes the writer balances it out by making one character smarter and the other one stronger.
but not c//a. oh no no, catra has to be the one who is stronger and smarter. and like i said, the funny thing in spop is that adora is canonically stronger than catra and literally everyone else but for some reason, she keeps getting her ass kicked by catra. it makes no sense. even if she was holding herself back and trying not to hurt catra, she should still be able to defend herself. there was no need to make her so weak.
2. their relationship was toxic even when they were on the same side.
catra constantly expected adora to put her needs above her own, she was jealous of adora's achievements, she literally slaps and gaslights adora in the portal sequence where they were supposed to be still friends.
3. their relationship was too personal.
usually the "they were enemies" argument works only if,
a. the two individuals don't know each other and therefore think that the other side is evil (like glimmer and adora), or
b. they were forcefully turned against each other despite not wanting to hurt each other.
neither of this is the case with c//a. especially catra. it would make sense if catra was forced to fight adora, and she had no choice in the matter. but no, all of her decisions were her own and she absolutely enjoyed torturing the fuck out of adora.
not to mention, catra usually only targeted adora. she rarely ever targeted bow or glimmer or any of the princesses, and if she did, it was to get back at adora. this was because catra was taking out her personal grudge on adora, rather than fighting an enemy.
so yeah, that's why this argument doesn't work. this is not what the enemies to lovers trope embodies, and fans who say "you just don't understand the trope" hasn't seen a real enemies to lovers ship.

seeing your defending catradora/catradora antis dni post, do you have any arguments against the whole "they're sisters" thing?
i do, yes!
growing up together does not make your friendship a sibling bond/dynamic unless you choose for it to. i saw someone claim that it inherently does unrelated to catradora specifically, but like, surely that has to be a troll because there's no way. 💀 i guess that means lonnie, kyle, and rogelio are also catra & adora's siblings, like a family of 5? what about the other unnamed human-looking characters (i think one had short green hair and another with a dark purple mullet)?
shadow weaver was never their mother (figure). she was their caretaker, basically just the supervising adult in that segment of the fright zone. but like, even if she was, it doesn't take a genius to infer that she was disowned once they both got out of there.
if catra & adora are sisters, then glimmer & adora are too, and also bow is their brother, which crosses glimbow off the list as well. you can't ship anyone without it being incestuous, unfortunately (sarcastic). considering queen angella is a direct parallel to shadow weaver, and angella's last nurturing words to adora before kissing her forehead was that the best friend squad needed to take care of each other, and shadow weaver's last act was ensuring catra could take care of adora the rest of the way to the heart... well, i guess love can only be familial.
in S4 shadow weaver took glimmer under her wing and taught her the same lessons in sorcery that micah (her father) would have if he was around in her life, literally after he learned from her first, so by this logic, glimmer & adora share two adoptive mothers; especially when you take into account their "argument" (canonically it was fake for a setup, but there were some underlying issues & insecurities there) about being the "favorite" with regards to the "golden child" method shadow weaver uses against scapegoats.
i would suggest reading this great post by @witch-apologist, which is where some of the points above come from, and you could probably also search sisters/siblings on their blog since they've challenged antis about this topic before!

i'm losing my mind how are there STILL ACTIVE CATRA HATE BLOGS it's been FOUR YEARS how are you still this mad about a female abuse victim!!!!!! how do you STILL not get it!!!!!!!!!!
I have been in enough fandoms to understand that some of the people who stick around the longest are those who act the most scarred after watching the media. It's like stockholme syndrome. Or it's like hating the thing is what gives them drive in the world.
I have also been on the other side of this. I remained a Homestuck blog for a whole four years after the ending made me depressed about Terezi Pyrope, even lasting an additional year and a half after the dogshit epilogues released, through to the demise of Hiveswap and Homestuck^2, before I realised enough was enough and let Adventure Time give me sanctuary again.
But Homestuck had its Gamzee fans who hated the comic and fandom, Adventure Time had its Lemongrab fans who hated the show and fandom, and it seems She-ra has its fair share of antis.
The She-ra antis consist of the following groups, from my observation:
Former fans who got obsessed with some other show and have to bash She-ra because it ain't cool anymore. Usually Owl House fans but can be from anywhere. Their hate is universally connected to propping something else up, and is never done in isolation.
Hordak fans who hate Catra and maybe every other character and crew member and the show. There are a lot of the reverse, Catra fans who hate Hordak, which is part of why this group is so persistent, as a "counter" to this Hordak hate. However, the Catra fans who are Hordak antis MOSTLY do not hate the show (they are just... out of touch with it and generally have bad takes). I've seen one or two extreme cases of Catra apologists accusing Adora, Scorpia, and even Entrapta of abuse, but they were completely alone in their feelings. The Hordak fans who hate Catra tend to also hate Glimmer, Mermista, Adora, Bow, and say that the show is ableist or whatever, but they do not actually harbor much love for Entrapta. Her victimisation is an excuse for their behaviour and they have no understanding of her chaotic character. Do not interact.
Glimmadora fans (the ones who purely seem to exist to make 'Spop Is Abusive' posts). Why the fuck Glimmadora fans hate the show so much, I do not understand. But these are probably the most In-Your-Face of these three groups. While the Hordak fans mentioned above have a lot of similarity to Homestuck Gamzee fans or Adventure Time Lemongrab fans in the weird way they'll hate on the show for doing their blorbo wrong, Glimmadora fans don't have that evidence because they don't really care about Glimmer or Adora. They have absolutely nothing to say about the show, other than that it is Bad. My theory on these Glimmadora fans is that they really liked the Glimmer and Adora ship on a superficial level, and then the show decided to have its Deeper Themes and give Catra and Adora a messy, complicated relationship. There was a lot happening after season 3 where people went "CATRADORA IS REALLY ABUSIVE AND CATRA IS HORRIBLE AND YOU SHOULDNT SHIP HER WITH ANYONE". This period was SO fucking harmful to the fandom that it never recovered, so much work was lost and deleted from AO3. People would say "Glimmadora is a much better ship anyway". But then when season 4 rolled around and, uhh, Glimmer was acting like a little shit all season (for good reason but she really fucked things up with Adora), and Glimmadora crumbled into ash? Well the Glimmadora truthists felt like the show was working against them and that Season 5 was a grand conspiracy to make the Abusive ship Catradora canon!!! The funniest part of this is I sympathise a lot with these feelings. I used to be a Glimmadora truther myself when I watched the show in fall 2021. I was like, "wow, look how nice this ship is. And they go with catradora in the end?? Fucking HOW???". But then seasons 4 and 5 happened and.... yeah, I was disappointed with how Glimmer and Adora's friendship ended up, but I was ENAMORED by the messiness of Catra's character and how raw her and Adora felt about each other even in spite of all the bullshit. I never made excuses about the show being abuse apologising. I analysed it purely in how believable the relationships were and what the intentions of the characters are.
Of these groups, the ones responsible for the most actual SPOP Anti blogs are undoubtedly the Glimmadoras. The only time I've seen something similar, so many antis appearing, was because of Steven Universe ship wars. You have NO IDEA how petty people feel about Lapidot, Amedot, all the dots, all the amethysts. A crew member was chased off the internet over it, or left the internet over the show's own decisions, depending on whether you believe the """screenshots""" that were taken of Zuke's ""private blog""".
