on the creaking / the pale garden from the new minecraft update, here’s some things i would add / improve on.

and just to clarify, i don’t want this post to be about hating on the update, i’m a big fan of the concept and i hope they could add some of the things i’ve said to just push it a little further, and make it as good as it could be! this is meant to be constructive criticism with proposed solutions

1. taller trees that create more of a canopy so you can’t see the sky

2. fog and particles. dark particles from the moss, like mycelium, but a bit more noticeable, like spore blossoms. it would also be really cool if the fog could come from flowers, similar to terraria’s graveyard biome system where you need a lot of the flowers to make the fog roll in. (which means you could also place fog anywhere manually. the dream oml. would keep biome fog color so you could also make nether fog denser if you wanted too) the flowers would be similar to cherry petals but smaller with black stems and white petals

3. make the leaves white or grey to match the hanging moss, and stay that color when in other biomes

4. add a summon and despawn animation to the creaking, similar to the warden. maybe it could come out of the side of the trees instead of the ground to differentiate it, with more subtle creaking wood sounds instead of the wardens digging and smashing sounds

5. also make the creaking run away or dig into the ground and pop up somewhere else after attacking (similar to creatures in subnautica fleeing, which makes those moments much scarier. more of an encounter focused on fear than a battle focused on winning.)

6. generally just better texture for the hanging moss. with the current one it’s very obvious to see where the texture starts and ends, unlike vines or glowberries. also applies to the moss on the creaking itself and sorta the log? idk the shading on the textures this update feels really off to me, i can’t explain in words why that is, unfortunately

7. this one is kinda personal preference, but the creaking heart and the creaking’s eyes would be much better if it was a bright fully saturated red to contrast harder with the monochromatic palette

8. add overworld ambience like the water/nether ambience, but don’t add any to this biome on purpose to add to the “wrong” feeling.

9. someone pointed out on reddit the whole biome is monotone except the dirt, and another person suggested mud to go with the new pale moss and i second that, actually. maybe some deepslate boulders too, similar to the mossy ones in old growth taigas

10. another reddit comment said white pumpkins, that person is a genius. i second that too

i also want to give massive props to them changing the sky, grass, and water colors. i’ve been BEGGING for more biome variations in those ever since i installed william wythers expanded ecosphere mod. i’m very glad to see them doing more interesting things with biome colors :)

i also want to give props to them making an overworld fantasy biome that doesn’t feel too out of place there! tying it in with the dark forest was a good move for this too since giant mushrooms are also pretty fantasy, even if i’m a bit disappointed the trees just keep the dark oak shape

I HAVE SO MANY. this is probably a fraction of my headcanons honestly but I don't remember them all lmao. HERE WE GO!

Kieran

• he has anxiety, the tism™️ and BPD (twinning 🤝)

• stims include tapping his foot, rocking his hand to the side of him, bouncing his leg (or foot) when sat down. He also has vocal stims, which usually come from tunes or phrases he hears; wowzers is one of them!

• playing with his hair is a big stim. He ruffles it, pulls at it, twirls it, strokes it, runs his hands through it, etc. He likes how his hair feels and that's why so many of his stims involve it :]

• his parents left years ago. He has no idea where they went, only knows that they didn't care about their kids. When he was young he was told they'd died, to 'protect' him. You'd think Carmine and the grandparents would've learned from that incident during teal mask, huh? (This is also the case for villain!Kieran, but normal Kieran would likely avoid ever meeting his parents)

• he is terrible at video games. Still, he likes playing them on occasion; definitely more of a 'cosy game' enjoyer with a biiiiit of threat. He'd play Minecraft, Stardew Valley and Terraria for example

• he's short right now– shortest of the friend group– but he'll eventually be pretty tall when he's 17. Shorter than Nemona and Arven at that age, but still tall enough that it shocks people at first

• chocolate wafer bars are his comfort food!

• his grandma taught him how to cook, while his grandpa taught him how to make tea and to knit.

• despite the above, he's not very good at cooking... he burns things. A lot.

• during his emoism™️ he would kick things, punch things, slam things etc and every time, he'd act cool about it until he was out of the room. Then he lets out a little owie or a hiss of pain </3

• started cursing more the moment his hair was tied up. He was convinced it made him sound more mature. Even after everything's said and done and he's doing better mentally + friends with Florian and co again, he can't quite shake the habit and curses every so often in conversation

• resting bitch face + talks in a 'moody' quiet voice a lot, leading people to think he's annoyed when he's actually feeling neutral or even happy

• if cat person vs dog person exists in the Pokémon universe, Kieran’s a cat person. I guess this means he likes Pokémon that are more like cats, whether they actually are cats or not

• he likes flowers a lot. That's it that's the headcanon. I think he'd like sketching them and studying them, maybe his original pokémon team and the open fields of Kitakami made him interested? And, funnily enough, his crush's name means blossoming, flourishing flower....

• he still stays up late and sometimes doesn't sleep at all, but this is much rarer now. Normally it's because he has a good(-ish) reason not to sleep– at least, that's what he says.

• applin was his first Pokémon!

• when he traded Florian an applin, Florian traded back a shiny applin. He actually started this search right after he left Kitakami, and found it a week before heading to Blueberry; he was prepared and wanted a good way to apologise. Of course, he didn't expect what'd happened with Kieran.

• Florian has a shiny furret. It was on his team when he fought Kieran and won; after Kieran boxed his own for being too weak. Ouch.... (based on the fact I had furret as one of my last pokemon when his ace went down </3) this is technically a Florian hc but!! It made Kieran rethink a little, later on. It was also extremely devastating at the time

• Kieran naturally gets really good at battling. He could 100% be part of the elite four or even the champion when he's older, even with him slowing down and doing battles just for fun

• Kieran doesn't always enjoy physical touch, but he's also pretty touch starved. He likes hugs and anything gentle, and usually only from people he knows well

Ever since the start of empires s2 ive been thinking about what terraria bosses each member would be and im still unsure about some but i think i got most of them

Starting with Gem i went with Golem. Queen bee or Empress Of Light would have worked but i think golem works best since the whole jungle temple and golems drops are related to the sun.

For Kathrine i went with Empress Of Light, Queen Slime could have worked aswell. Even though Empress Of Light is harder to fight during the day i still think it fits.

Joey Graceffa is Duke Fishron its very similar he has an ocean themed empire i could have gone with the flying Dutchman because i am including mini bosses but bht duke fishron just fits better, plus i get to draw him as a cool ass fuckin pig fish.

Scott would probably be the Lunatic Cultist and i dont have any actual reason i just think he'd look cool as em also no other boss would fit him. Thsi does kinda make it seem like he worships Joel(because i made him Mood Lord) but eh.

Falsesymmetry would be Skeleton Prime maybe a steampunk version of it? I remember seeing a terraria mod that added a steampunk hardmode version for the rest of the prehardmode bosses. The four arms could either be the exact same as skeleton primes or they could just have hands.

Lizzie's one is the one im really unsure about i picked Queen Bee but it doesn't really fit and its the only animal themed boss.

Sausage i picked the Pumpking i could have gone with one of the tree mini bosses but do you think i wanna give him a mini boss named morning wood? But ya Pumpking would work because you know nature n shit.

Shelby's one doesn't make too much sense, i went with Plantera mainly because of the pink flowers in her mc skin but thats kinda it, the only other thing i could have gone with are the goblin  summoner but that doesn't really count as a mini boss. I might switch Sausages and Shelbys around because either one will fit them.

If i included modded bosses then Jimmy would have been the Desert Scourge(calamity mod) or The Grand Thunder Bird(thorium mod) but im not including modded bosses so im going with Skeleton, the dungeon usually spawns near the ocean so its the closest we get to a desert/mesa boss. The old sheriff could also be the old man that spawns at the surface of the dungeon.

Fwhip would be the eater of worlds it just makes sense, The Eater Of Worlds is(usually) spawned underground AND it burrows through the ground.

Oli being Betsy doesn't fit too much but there isn't any other boss taht would fit, i originally had the pillers as him but didn't think they'd fit and also his child Gregory the dragon egg would fit with him being Betsy(i made the list of what terraria boss each empires member would be at ages ago, before Oli's final lmao)

Joel is just the Moon Lord its the closest thing in terraria to a god thats the only reason i picked that boss for him. now if you drew him as the Moon Lord would you draw him with or without his legs?

Pixlriffs is The Brain Of Cthulhu i love The Brain Of Cthulhu and when you think of a brain you think of being smart n shit so i gave them to pixlriffs

And bonus Hermes would be one of the pillers id say either the vortex piller or the nebula piller

Alright, thinking on it, I think I AM throwing in the towel.

I'm just hard walled by eternity Abominationn. He seems pretty fair, I don't see anything absurd about his patterns or what have you, *I* am just not experienced enough in terraria movement + bullet hell fundamentals.

When it gets "too hectic" I get skittish and move out of range (and into a bullet I should have seen) instead of confidently staying near the boss and pouring damage in and Abom seems like too much of a step up for me to adjust and learn from currently- maybe (HOPEFULLY) after I get some more games / mods of this ilk under my belt I can return and finally take him out fair and square :) I really do hope so because this mod has been SICK.

I was able to take out the entire cast, on Eternity from the very beginning, without a single mod to help make it easier

Just the fargo package, magic storage (quintessential for modded runs in my opinion), Angler Shop + autofisher (base settings) because I didn't want to farm fish quests (I still did a lot of them because it turns out Fargo makes the angler quests instantly reset which does quite a bit for improving them), and that's kinda it.

The attack speed meter lets me check how much % melee speed I would need to reach the next use time (didn't really use it this playthrough but I appreciate the accessible info) and no Inferno is a new favorite for getting that oldschool inferno potion graphic out of my eyes lol

Doing all that is kind of incredible to me :P I wasn't kidding when I said prior to this my experience was basically "I beat classic (barely) and beat expert with a mod that added content that was like 1.1-1.2x the strength of vanilla :)"

The trophies are in order of when I beat them from top to bottom, left to right. The top row is everything up to moonlord*, below on top of my main house are the normal champions, and then at the bottom next to my forest pylon is Erid, the named champion and very clearly an actual boss full-stop lol

* with one exception- the offhang wooden platform to the side is to denote a boss added after I already got to end game and so I DID beat him, but it was in one shot because he is a pre-hard mode boss and I didn't want to dig through all the items trying to figure out a "fair" build to combat him (and having to eat a bunch of health debuff fruits to get to pre-hard mode numbers), I didn't really get to experience him but that's fine~

But enough nonsense, more ramble about the mod itself:

Fargo's Souls mod is somehow EXACTLY what I scoffed and said I assumed it was based off the few pieces I'd seen, and NOTHING AT ALL like I assumed lmao

I assumed Souls was a power-fantasy "Everything is overpowered" mod where you shoot 10 billion particle effects and have accessories that give you every effect in the game because I had seen the ultimate soul you can get.

I also (funnily enough) assumed it was probably "Bull shit mega hard for no reason". I didn't bother considering how these two thoughts would intermingle, it didn't matter to me lol

I was pretty definitively, wrong but there's some truth in what I guessed lol- Souls is extremely well balanced around itself on eternity difficulty and offered what I would call like a solid 3-4 steps up in difficulty without being bull shit. It also paces itself A LOT and I'd say pretty well.

You can only access weak enchantment accessories in pre-hard mode and all of them are fairly balanced around pre-hard mode eternity remixes put in place, it was challenging and fun!

Then hard mode lets you start playing with some improved enchantments and you start getting better (there were some pre-hard) combined accessories based on the bosses you can face and it all balances pretty damn well!

Post cultist lets you get some more moderate buffs with the ancient manipulator, then moon lord lets you start making forces and basic souls for a BIG bump in efficacy- before you beat moon lord this mod visually doesn't look anything like what I expected as everything is definitely stronger (us and the enemy) but things aren't 10 billion particles and explosions yet (well, wizard + meteor before they reworked it but mostly)

POST moon lord it becomes BIG CRAZY EXPLOSIONS AND SPEED, and yet it honestly felt earned lol

Yes, the base world of the game becomes a playground, but the remaining bosses still demand so much of you that it feels like a fair step up in your own power. Beating Erid gets you some more upgrades, then after you beat abom you can get even more powerful weapons and the like, and then beating mutant will let you start making the Ultimate Mega Insane stuff that I thought the entire mod was like before actually trying it :P

To be blunt and concise: I think this is my favorite terraria mod atm :)

I have played a handful of them at this point to completion, and I keep finding mods I think are INSANELY quality (AND THEY ARE!!!) but this one really did genuinely blow me away. It was fun like the entire damn time- it was GOOD challenge- GOOD struggle for me.

And the fact I got to experience so much of it in Eternity mode (MY FAVORITE WAY TO PLAY TERRARIA AS OF TYPING- ETERNITY FUCKS!!!! THE BOSS REMIXES FUCK!!!!!) rules :D

I made it all the way to the final 2 super bosses, that's pretty sick :)

Anyways, my plan as of typing is simple.

I'm gonna slap on the Fargo Paper Mario Badge mod, grind out some badges, and give the final 2 bosses another attempt. Maybe it works maybe it doesn't.

My reasoning being that I know from experience that the badges are entirely overpowered- just nutty effects overall.

They aren't "You now 1 shot the boss :)" pieces, rather it's stuff like "Insane health regen" and "Free 50% more defense".

I'm ASSUMING (bad track record) that this will be enough of a nudge that I can overcome them on eternity mode and I will be able to make those final souls just to say I did. It'll be cheapened, maybe I shouldn't, but considering my current plan of "I GOTTA replay this mod when I get better" I'm not too concerned.

If it's not enough then that's that- game over (for now) and I'll settle for having tabled this mod as one of my faves for another day :)

Terraria has got to be the most funniest and chaotic game i have played (also spolier warning ig!!!), you start the game, make a character, create a world and then you're just plopped in there. No tutorial, nothing. You see some dude with brown (i think) hair and just press right-click, see a dialogue option labelled 'help' and think "oh! this gotta be how to go to the tutorial!" and NOPE! Think again fucker 'cause you better chop some wood and build a house because the night is dangerous (OoOoOoOh very spooky). So, you look up "Terraria Beginner Guide" (or something along the lines of that) and y'know you just get going, build houses, explore the underground, maybe built a hellevator, and you even built an arena (im so proud)! Then suddenly the text "You feel an evil Presence watching you" pops up and you know that you better get to your arena 'cause its very spooky big eyeball time (hooray).

So after you beat the very big Eye of Cthulu you get some loot, fast forward to The Wall of Flesh. This is it. The final challenge in Pre-Hardmode. The Gate to see if you have what it takes to go to Hardmode. And now, it begins. After you throw the doll of the person who pranked you out of a Tutorial into the lava below, you hear a roar, before a wall made out of flesh with two huge Eyeballs and a gaping wide Mouth comes at you. It was a great battle, with you seemingly being at equal with the giant fleshy wall. You threw everything you got at it: Bullets, Fire, Ice, even that Imp you found on the street. Ater a long Battle with many Hardships, you won. But only now....

The Fun really begins.

Oh, you thought that you could go out at night? Think again fucker, mf-ing Werewolves. You thought that Molten Armor/ Meteorite Armor was gonna protect you? Dont make me laugh. "Atleast I have my NPCs?" Wrong! You feel vibrations from deep below. Hardmode is the game's most challenging part imo, because not only is everything new, but also beefier, stronger, and more annoying to deal with. Oh, there's also a new Biome where, you guessed it! Everything kills you! It isnt as bad if you're more experienced and prepared alot of stuff, but unfortunately, most newer Players dont do that, and I've even seen some leave permanently because dying constantly wasnt fun anymore. But we dont quit, do we? No. Because our Mamas didnt raise us to be quitters! Uhh motivational quote, yadda yadda yadda etc. So. you actually persist, get better gear, and even kill a mechanical boss! So you get better weapons and gear, kill another Mechanical Boss and the last one is now dead. So you get clorophyte (No i will not look up how it's spelt and i really couldnt care less), get better-er gear and fight Plantera. This pink plant bitch is probably one of the best bosses in the game, and i am sad that it has some of the worst loot in the game imo. anyways, you unlock the temple, kill golem (Man Re-logic really need to buff this dude) get better-er-er gear and fight the lunatic cultist. Kill him, get the only drop (Man Re-logic really need to buff this dude's loot) and fight the celestial pillars. cool, you can now make weapons from SpAaAaAaaAAaace. Each of which correspond to a class (Solar=Melee, Vortex=Ranged,Nebula=Mage,Stardust=Summoner). but suddenly, the screen gets darker and more wonky, the music is gone and then,

Out of bloody nowhere, the final boss is here. The Final Challenge. The Wall between you and the End. After having improved so much and died so much, like, WOW those are alot of deaths, you are at the final blockade. And after a battle you will remember forever, you come out on top, victorious. You are at the top of the 2d Mountain. You have beaten everything. You have beaten

just gonna say, exploration/basing/traversal/whatever in minecraft is a complex topic, because of how many differing views there are on how much travel should even be necessary and its really freakin hard to think about in an INFINITE WORLD as well. big random thought dump time

like i think terraria does the gameplay of exploration better than minecraft ever has or will do it, and thats fine its just because of what terrarias designed after

ah right i have an idea for a post on me having maybe possibly figured out why i like when terraria makes me go on sidequests to biomes vs i dont like when mc does that (its probably mostly bc i view terraria as an exploration game, and also most of the rewards are just relevant to the core gameplay loop, and. well. its a careful balance. locking some qol behind certain things is cool, but sometimes its too much. either way i know vanilla terraria does it greatly) anyways, i think minecrafts in a weird spot but . i do think more unique ore, animal, and hostile mob distribution in biomes... would help increase the desire for players to do stuff outside of just their home base. to actually have more wildly different biomes with outposts at them especially if like, crops grew faster or animals had shorter breeding cooldowns in the "right" biomes but the issue there is like. god i dont care how nice it can be to make paths, i am NOT making infrastructure to anywhere further than like 300 blocks away from my general base area. that'd just get a bit frustrating but also minecrafts kinda. for that? its made for that? idk i also feel like i have a lot i could say on When Tedium is Good vs When Its Bad in games i play a lotta tedious games but theyre like, enjoyable tedium . then theres adding qol to reduce that Fun Tedium is kinda... saddening (calamity m od reference) but adding qol to reduce tedium that really isnt interesting gameplay to anyone is like, yea thats good so i think qol is a careful thing to balance but i think mc needs more qol tbhh. stuff like how we got editing signs in 1.20

um. what else... i just think like. minecraft exploration is weird because ill see something really cool thats far away and itll be like "woah! thats so cool (imagines building something awesome there) well anyways. never gonna come back here" and sometimes the world can get kinda repetitive to the point you just Run Through it. not really any small interesting things to grab along a journey. its gotta either be a significant structure you end up finding (which can end up being either a giant big side adventure which is cool but. i might not wanna commit to that. or its just a desert temple aka a 1 minute excursion where like, why did i even have to do any of this) i think terraria underground exploration nails it with more stuff than just ores, like life crystals and simple cabins with loot. they feel nice to find but then again. i dont wanna ALSO overanalyze whyi love terraria. ive already done that for minecraft and its both a blessing and a curse ill just say i love npc happiness, i love exploration, i love everything terraria has. except master mode and i love many things in minecraft, but i will always be a birdnester. i want to bring everything home with me. even though i think the game should prooobably design around reducing birdnesting just because like, the modern game is Definitely designed around exploration clearly ...i could make a whole post on the differences of the Vibes and Goals of modern mc vs old mc kinda tempted to wonder how many things id change about modern mc to keep all of its features but make it feel like old mc in a way. like, okay, i'd make stuff like frogs and sniffers far less animated. id make things in general feel less intentionally designed.. this post is long. im just gonna stop it here

How do you deal with a bad writing day after hyping yourself up for a productive one? I've been trying to comfort myself, but it's difficult.

It's entirely normal to criminalize yourself for not meeting your own expectations. If you're young or just starting out it's pretty par for the course to feel like a developing craft is something that'll flicker out if you're not constantly fanning the flame and feeding it tinder. It definitely took me a few completed drafts before I had enough confidence to go a month without working on a project and not tell myself that I've lost it forever.

There's still flashes of anxiety. I imagine it's true across the board for artists. But at least for me it's a lot easier to manage after time.

You feel like you failed? Okay, great! You're going to fail a lot as a writer. It's inevitable, and lucky for us the stakes are pretty low. You have to really TRY to like crucially fail in writing by like lying about being a minority to get a book deal or being an actual criminal. Other than that it's more likely you'll just write things that don't work, or get rejected from publishers, or put something up and get either unasked for criticism or blanket silence. It's pretty hard at first, but it's VERY useful to shrug it off when things like that don't go your way and just move on.

Of course you're disappointed. You wanted to write and it didn't go the way you wanted. But there's a lot of nuance here. Maybe your version of productive isn't the productive your writing needed right now. You could've written a few lines that feel like nothing but later on solidify something important or change the course of your plan. All writing is useful. ANY writing is useful. Writers like Stephen King have a daily schedule of like 2k words almost every day of the year, and that might seem like the goal since he's very successful. But also I've read a lot of King's work and like a third of it is insane nonsense. ALSO also Stephen King's writing schedule is likely less to do with the discipline of being an Inherently Better Writer and more to do with the amount of coke he did (I.E. a ton of it, nearly constantly).

And if you didn't write a single goddamned word? Yeah man, that actually means you're bad and failed and should probably quit writing and get a job as Old Navy as the in-house Sad Guy. That's also fine. It's normal. It's probably good, actually. Artists need to do things other than art - both cool adventures like going a museum or a park and being Artsy in Public, and also boring errands. You need to be in the world as much as you can. It's crucial, especially for younger creatives. There's a chance you ended up not writing and instead like just fell down some sort of online scroll spiral - and yes, that's a bummer. Net negative. But it's not a moral failure, especially when so much of social media is literally engineered to get you to do that.

Listen to your body. Writing probably makes you feel good - hopefully, at least. Whatever you did instead maybe didn't make you feel good. Is it because it's unhealthy and disregulating, or was it fun but you felt you were supposed to do something else instead?

If it's the former take note and try and substitute the behavior next time it happens. If I don't feel like I'm able to write the way I want to I like to watch a cool movie. Maybe go out somewhere, either to do house errands or maybe see a Nature. Lately I've been playing Terraria and listening to a podcast or video essays. You wanted this to happen and something got in the way. That sucks, but you keep doing this and it'll happen a lot.

If it's the latter, be kind to yourself. There's a Little Creature in your chest and he's afraid that if he stops pushing towards the thing that's important to you he won't be able to work up the effort again. His name is Ryan and he's very tired and disappointed in himself. He is maybe a fat racoon and he has little grubby hands. You should maybe go ahead and tell Ryan its okay. Give him a grape and a pat on the head and promise the world won't end.

In short: you're okay. Regardless of the circumstances. Feel your feelings, but at a point it's no longer productive. If you need the validation - I am a working writer, produced and published (both self-pub and in journals), and I promise you it is not a sin to have an off day. I also have off days. You can come out of the time out corner. Have a snack - fruit, maybe, or something with protein. Maybe make yourself a fun drink. Get back to work when you're ready.

I am entirely new to the Calamity mod and I'm sure this has been said before, but I can't help but wonder...I'm not the only one who's hoping that the eventual Yharim fight doesn't end with us killing him, right? Like. Yeah. He fucked up. He fucked up big time. Several times. He did some horrible shit, he mistreated a lot of people who looked up to him, he threw his lot in with some dubious characters who would use his resources to do a lot of harm. And now he's apathetic and depressed and alone and honestly? It's all his fault. And yet. And yet. Few others have been with me through this journey like he has, even if it was from afar. He started his whole crusade with good intentions and yes, it all went wrong, and he knows it. He knows it and admits it. In that, I see someone who could be capable of being a force for good again. And Yharon...Yharon still cared about him, up until the end. Maybe that doesn't mean anything to the rest of Terraria, but it means something to me. And it has to mean something to him. What would the last dragon think, for his friend and master, after everything they did, for better or worse, to end in suicide by adventurer? I don't want that. I'd like to fight him, sure. I'd love to beat his ass. Take him to task for the mess he left, for the problems he caused in trying to fix worse ones, for what he did to Calamitas. It'd be cathartic for us both, I feel. But I don't want him dead. Draedon was on to something about the land being stale and stiff with blood. I want nothing more than to be able to show more mercy than I have in my journey to this point. So, yes. I want to knock him down a couple of pegs. Maybe beat some of that apathy out of him. But I don't want to kill him. More than anything, I want to punt him off that damned Aerie, give him a fight for the ages, and then offer him my hand and ask him to help me finish this. Together. Because Terraria may be a cruel world, but we don't always have to be. (And, let's be real. I'd miss his post-boss letters if he was dead. Even the ones where he's disappointed in me.)

Ancients Awakened Pre-Hardmode

Ancients Awakened was a Terraria mod with a massive scope, like calamity level of scope. I had high hopes. The concepts seemed awesome, the soundtrack went hard AF and the designs were fire. Annoyingly, as is so common, the lead developer was a creep and half the dev team at once. All the awesome music, spritework and more was crushed until one dev stepped up to take back control. I'm not sure which of these are sill in the mod or what the lore or direction is but I hope these designs, concepts and sprites aren't wasted. The old wiki on terraria mods wiki still has some incomplete old info if you're interested but I think they have their own fandom page or .gg wiki. If anyone wants to tell me about the state of the mod or the fate of these goobers please do tell this was all I did during the pandemic.

The mushroom monarch and feudal fungus were a pair of early-game msuhroom themed bosses. Like king slime tier, you would fight them seperately. There was also a pre-hardmode red msuhroom biome and truffle for it. Mushroom monarch is coming back in the restored version.

Truffle toad was a largely redundant boss who you would fight post eye of cthulhu. Fandom says it's "being overhauled in a remake" so...

the old lore says that the grips of chaos are two quarters of a chaos wizard's soul split in half by (I think) Terra, dryad queen or smth. They are back in the remake. You would fight them after the eye of cthulhu.

Hydra and broodmother are like brain of cthulhu and eater of worlds, fought just after in their respective biomes, the mire and the inferno. They mothered the sisters of discord (you'll see them later) with yamata and akuma, respectively. Hydra has been renamed to swamplurker in the remake and is being reworked. Broodmother is also coming back reworked.

Desert Djinn and subzero serpent were a pair of post-skeletron bosses for the desert and ice biome respectively. Desert Djinn is being turned into an NPC for "awakened light" (idk what that is maybe a special gamemode). Subzero serpent is beoming a miniboss for an underground ice biome (think armoured digger from calamity)

Sagittarius was a pre-wall of flesh boss for the void biome. It'd being replaced with Drone Dispensory Delta in the remake but is staying as a miniboss. Also I though I had a better version of this one but nevermind I might redraw it or draw the replacement when it gets spritework.

im just discoverign the absolute JOYS of 'cheating' in video games because theyre too hard for you to play normally. i never really liked terraria because im badat combat and moving quickly, and i dont like havign to work too hard ebfore the game gets easier for me. Terraria was fine, but like i didnt play it. I decided to try again ebcause maybe ive gotten better, for the first time years i think, and im discovering the absolute JOYS of godmode journey characters. I have a feeling that in the middle of the night, during the time where bee was offline, prowl would go to the living room and turn on the TV. he didn't know why he turned it on but he did, and he was met with a menu screen for one of bee's games.

this game was new, Sari had bought it for bee a week before since she knows he loves video games. bee was halfway through finishing the game before his death, considering the disc is still in the player. and prowl realized this.

coolant began to fill his optics when he realized that bee would never get to finish that game. he wouldn't get to feel happy when he completed the game or rage when he failed. he quickly turned off the TV and retreated back to his room.

I love giving/seeing angst for my favorite characters lmfao. if you can, could you give us (me) more angst with prowlbee :3

Yeah, Prowl still keeps up the habit of nightly snacking- but now that Bee is gone it only happens when he's really hungry. One of the times he had a nightmare about Bee's death he just couldn't stay in his room anymore and left, anywhere but not his room.

He tried to get some rest on the couch but failed, he opted to watching tv. But when he turned it on he was met with the opening screen when the console was active and a moment later he was met with Terraria main screen.

Prowl was hit with the memory of Bee being so happy when he got the game and all the possible scenarios of him being happy, sad, enraged and proud of what he didn't yet do in the game.

He couldn't take it. He shut the tv and drove to his grave to cry. He wasn't paying attention to the road at all, if he got hit he wouldn't care. Maybe it would have been better if he did,.. then he wouldn't have to endure such torture.

As for more angst- i'll try to come up with more scenarios that aren't connected to this one. To give you some variety.

If you ever want suggestions you might like slow start or demon girl next door, both pretty fun slice of life comedy affairs. For more action akuma no riddle is still solid.

I'll tell you a little anecdote about each game!!

Hollow Knight: I first played hollow knight at my cousin's house in 2018(or 2019?) I sorta sucked at it. I remember saying "this is just swordigo but, like, better" and I guess I was right? swordigo's a mobile metroidvania I used to play btw lol~ anyways in 2020(??? or 2021?????) one of my favourite youtubers (merg) started playing hollow knight and I was like huh..! this is actually sorta fun?? I didn't have an income nor allowance at the time so I couldn't BUY the game for myself.. so I watched his ENTIRE series before I bought the game for myself!! still, it was fun!

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva: You may not know this game, but there are two modes! arcade mode, and mix mode! arcade mode is like the mode where you hold the joy-cons vertically and use like motion controls and uh it's complicated but basically I LOVE THAT!! I LOVE THE MOTION CONTROLS SO MUCH!! LITERALLY THE ONLY GAME WHERE I LIKE THEM LOL!!! Also! Project Diva is what got me into vocaloid! not the other way round! isn't that cool!!!
