Do you really think that Valt is a bad friend to Shu? Because I’ve seen every instance where he tries his absolute hardest to be there for his friend without being too overbearing. And what you said about Valt screaming at Shu to to snap him out of his brainwashing? I don’t think that was the case. It seemed more like the shock of losing to Valt was what snapped him out of it. And Valt did try talking to Shu before hand. Besides, don’t Bladers usually scream and shout more during battles anyway?
[This is going to be a truly impressively massive amount of text, because of course this is the Main Character and the Main Rival we’re talking about, so there’s a lot to unpack here – This is probably the most detailed/complicated relationship in the show, naturally. I apologize in advance for the obtrusive text wall…which I am only making larger by prepending it with this apology (;x_x)]
I don’t think Valt was intentionally a bad friend, but I do think he and Shuu are bad for eachother, yeah. And I have several different reasons for saying that; But first [and this might be a surprise], all of this is actually not why I don’t like Valt [so I don’t think it’s my bias talking when I say he’s a bad friend, ahaha]; I mean, Lui was of course way, WAAAAY more awful to Shuu than Valt was and I love Lui. [If they’re written well, I generally find complicated relationships really interesting, whether they’re healthy relationships or not.] I actually don’t like Valt specifically because I couldn’t stand the way he was written in s2 – He ended up harping on a lot of tropes that happen to annoy me [So it’s an entirely separate thing that basically just boils down to shallow personal taste jhgfhdkl OTL]. I actually didn’t particularly dislike Valt at all in s1 [though I also didn’t particularly like him, and I found his voice got on my nerves a bit sometimes], and I’m more than willing to STOP hating him in s3 if, when we actually see more of him, it becomes apparent that the writing team isn’t still puppeteering him with Bad Cliches for the sake of the plot. /end disclaimer
Now, here’s my actual answer under a cut, because it’s just…so much…:
I don’t think Valt was “trying to support Shuu without being overbearing” for the most part at all; Valt was just completely oblivious to the fact that there was something seriously wrong with Shuu until Shuu had already gone totally off the deep end. I think what you’re reading as “support” is maybe just how Valt was always so cheerful and happy towards Shuu? But that’s not actual support, that’s just…basic enthusiastic friendliness. Valt didn’t try to address any of Shuu’s bad ideas or unhealthy thought patterns, and try to steer him away from them; like, think of how 1) Shuu helped Dyna decide against quitting beyblade, or 2) how Hoji physically stopped Wakiya from beating his fists against the wall after a loss, and then convinced him that there was no shame in losing and this was actually just a chance to learn from the mistake and try again later, or even 3) how at the end of s2 Wakiya told Shuu something along the lines of “Hey what you did was fucking dumb dude, don’t do that again” but also forgave him for it because ofc they’re still friends even after the Red Eye fiasco, etc. THAT’S support. “Support” is “trying to help somebody through a problem{*}”. And Valt…obviously couldn’t do that if he wasn’t aware of Shuu’s problems in the first place.
Hell, Valt somehow wasn’t even aware of how Shuu got his scar. Near the end of s1, when Shuu told the team about how Lui tried to gouge out his eye, Valt was as surprised as everybody else. That’s always been a major “What the fuck” moment for me; did Valt not even watch that battle? His “best friend” was fighting Lui Shirasagijo, and I’m sure that was televised? Why was Valt not aware of that major trauma Shuu went through until then?? What? Did he just…not even ask about the scar? Did Shuu tell him it was an “accident” and he just accepted that and proceeded to ignore it? How could Shuu’s best friend not know anything about that battle?
And when Valt WAS aware of an Obvious Problem that Shuu had – the injured arm – he didn’t prevent Shuu from making it worse when he could have. Valt ACKNOWLEDGED that he could have kept Shuu from hurting himself further, because Valt WANTED to back out of that battle and not let Shuu fight him. And Valt does get some “Good Friend points” for that imo, but he also loses those points immediately because he folded and DIDN’T call off that battle…just because Shuu didn’t want him to. It shouldn’t have mattered that Shuu didn’t want him to refuse to battle him. It shouldn’t have mattered that Shuu got angry. The bottom line was that Shuu was hurting himself and was going to make it worse. [Like…would you let your best friend play in traffic just because they wanted to and got mad when you tried to stop them? Looks like maybe Valt would ._.] Valt enables Shuu’s self-destructive tendencies. The things that Shuu wants are DEFINITELY not necessarily things that will be good for Shuu, as Shuu proves by making bad [dangerous] decisions again and again.
Ah, and at this point I realize I need to explicitly clarify something because I’m noticing I keep wording it a little wrong: I’m saying Valt doesn’t realize when Shuu has a problem, but that’s actually nnnnot quite right? More accurately, it’s like Valt notices when something is bothering Shuu, but has NO IDEA how bad the problem actually is, because Valt 100% falls for it when Shuu tries to downplay his issues. When Shuu insists that he’s fine, Valt believes him and just thinks “Well, whatever’s wrong, Shuu can handle it”. So Valt knows that Shuu is agitated by things sometimes, but he is mistaking Shuu’s rapidly mounting Severe Emotional Trauma for just some relatively minor inconvenience that Shuu will probably get over fairly quickly. Valt doesn’t realize that things are FAR worse than Shuu is pretending they are. He doesn’t realize that Shuu is lying to him to minimize something that is actually overwhelmingly significant.
But…I think maybe, to a certain extent, Shuu likes that about Valt; how Valt doesn’t really try to stop him from making his bad decisions. Valt doesn’t try to talk to him about his problems. Valt is just like Shuu’s shitty absent parents in how he’ll just believe that Shuu’s got everything under control if Shuu SAYS he does. Shuu likes to pretend he’s fine when he’s actually suffering, and Valt makes that easy. It’s…almost like Valt will WILLFULLY IGNORE Shuu’s suffering so he doesn’t have to deal with it, presumably because he believes Shuu can deal with whatever it is just fine by himself. Because even when Valt CAN tell that something’s maybe Very Wrong, if Shuu says “It’s fine” then Valt will just accept that bullshit and stop worrying about it. Even in the rare instances when Valt IS aware that “I’m fine” is a lie, he still trusts Shuu to handle whatever the problem is anyway. It’s like looking at a person who is drowning and thinking “Nah, they must be fine” because they told you they know how to swim.
So this just creates, like…a snowball of toxic buildup. Shuu wants people to believe he is Strong and Independent and is always in control of things all the time, and Valt feeds into that unhealthy facade by totally going along with it. Valt doesn’t worry about Shuu enough, because Shuu doesn’t want him to. But Shuu NEEDS someone to worry about him. Valt’s not “trying not to be overbearing”, he’s just…flat-out not doing anything.
[Finally getting to that asterisk from way above…] {*}There are different ways to support someone; for example, passively supporting them without being “overbearing” could be just letting them vent to you, and then telling them you understand them and their feelings are valid [yeah, it’s cheesy but just letting someone know you don’t think they’re overreacting can be exactly what they need to hear more often than you’d think]. Valt actually had opportunities to do this…multiple times. The biggest example would be after Spriggan was broken by Lui; when Shuu and Valt were on the beach. That’s an awful scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
…Alright, That Is Not Helpful. In fact, that’s gonna make Shuu feel WORSE. Valt totally just trivialized the way Shuu was feeling, he just moved on and continued being happy and cheerful. Like…imagine if your pet died, and you’re at your best friend’s house, you’re sitting in their room crying and grieving, and they’re cheerfully playing video games or something and not even listening to you [except to maybe occasionally turn around and ask “You done being sad yet? No? K, lmk when you get over it so you can come be player 2 and have fun with me over here”]
Now, this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
NO. Valt shouldn’t have let Shuu brush it off like that, but instead he gleefully allowed him to. Shuu needed to talk about that, or at the very least Valt needed to firmly state that it would be okay to talk to him if Shuu ever did want to talk about it [not ideal because Shuu would ofc probably reject the offer, but dammit it would’ve been something, instead of just “Oh, okay nvm he’s fine lol”. As soon as Shuu even slightly tried to play it off, Valt completely dropped the subject for good.]{**}.
Also, somewhat minorly:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
…Meticulously fussing over taking care of Valkyrie while Shuu is holding his broken Spriggan in his pocket. After Shuu made it obvious that he feels like Spriggan breaking was his fault because he didn’t take better care of it. Aaaaand then in a minute Valt asks Shuu to hold Valkyrie…so he can run back out to play in the water again. Oh yeah, that totally wouldn’t sting at all. That’s not rubbing salt in the wound or anything. Man, this scene made me cringe. […Actually, this scene deserves its own entirely separate dissection post. I’ll work on that in a bit.]
{**}The thing is, I think Shuu does WANT to talk about his problems, naturally, but at the same time he doesn’t want to admit that he even HAS problems in the first place, and talking to people about them would of course be admitting to those people that those problems exist. So therefore he avoids talking about them. But there are brief moments, when Shuu is feeling particularly overwhelmed, that I think all of the pent-up frustration would just pour out if someone would only prod him about it a bit. When he is alone with somebody he trusts, and they don’t accept his lies about being “fine”, he would probably give in and spill his guts very quickly. [Dyna or Wakiya would probably be the most ideal for this, or possibly even Kensuke. Valt is too easy to lie to.]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like, look at this. That’s a longing look. That’s a “I’m overwhelmed and overflowing with so many negative emotions right now that they are physically leaking out of my eyes” look. Shuu has things he does want to say. And Valt left him standing there alone.
Moving on to season 2 now…by the time Valt FINALLY realized that something was REALLY REALLY WRONG with Shuu, and that maybe Shuu couldn’t handle it, it was, uh, a little too late. Or a lot too late. Shuu Has Had Enough. Shuu’s so frustrated and angry that now Valt can’t just talk to him, because he’s so fixated on taking Direct Action against failing again that he won’t slow down long enough to listen. Shuu is also actively avoiding Valt now, for a reason that I’ve mentioned in another post {X}. [I won’t re-type that entire post here {parts of it were also purely hypothetical and thus irrelevant to this post}, but TL;DR, Shuu actually seemed to have a lot of pent-up resentment towards Valt for constantly outshining him. Valt did not notice this problem building up in time, due to his lack of proper communication with Shuu. Now, Shuu sees Valt as an obstacle that needs to be overcome, more than he sees him as a friend.]
So yeah, NOW Valt’s trying a little more earnestly to actually talk to Shuu. And I actually think I can gloss over a good amount of s2 [and thank god, because this post is already waaaay too long] and skip straight to the end of the season;
Regarding that final battle, [I don’t say this clearly enough sometimes because I keep mentioning it kind of offhandedly, but] I don’t think Valt simply yelling at him alone WAS what woke Shuu up, but I also don’t think it was the loss that did it either – I think it was a combination of both the iNCREDIBLE VOLUME and also what Valt was saying. Because people certainly do shout a lot during beybattles, but there seemed to be an ESPECIALLY prominent focus on the dialogue this time? Which is part of why I keep saying I’m a little confused by the final battle; because it’s not subbed yet and I don’t KNOW exactly what Valt was saying. But based on the couple of words I could pick out, and Valt’s facial expressions/body language, what I THINK he was saying was probably Generic Power-Of-Friendship Trope Stuff? Something like “I know you’re still in there somewhere!” or “I don’t know what happened to you but we’re still friends so calm down and let’s just be happy again! I forgive you and I believe in you!” And THAT’S what I don’t think should have worked. Because people tried repeatedly to throw Love And Friendship at Brainwashed Shuu, and he just tuned them out completely. Just turning up the volume shouldn’t have made quite such a dramatic difference, I think?
I think, realistically, the Magic Words that could have snapped Shuu out of it would’ve had to be something like…telling him that what he went through with Ashram was not worth it because it’s just okay to fail. It’s okay to fail, to learn from that mistake, and then just keep trying again until you understand the problem well enough to figure out how to get past it. Shuu didn’t need to go berserk and put himself through hell in the Snake Pit to make himself stronger, trying to ensure that he would never lose a battle again. It’s okay to lose and it doesn’t make him weak. Like…getting back up and persistently trying again after getting knocked down is what makes somebody strong. Tenacity. Refusal to fold and give up when faced with a challenge. NOT to try to make sure you will never have to feel challenged again at all. [Wakiya got over nearly this exact mindset. That’s why I say I think he’d be one of the best people to talk to Shuu about it {if Shuu would even let him}]
And I don’t think any of that is even remotely what Valt was shouting at Shuu, because I don’t think it was possible for Valt to say those things. Valt doesn’t have the faintest idea of what happened to Shuu in the Snake Pit, and, even further back than that, Valt doesn’t understand WHY Shuu went to the Snake Pit in the first place. So, not knowing what Valt said from behind the language barrier here, I’m just figuring whatever it was just Wasn’t Enough [or, shouldn’t have been enough]. [The whole finale felt a little rushed to me imo? The pacing in God was terrible overall and there were a lot of loose threads left hanging that will apparently never be addressed again :/ Well, at least the season sort of made up for the dodgy plot by introducing so many amazing characters]
And to cap off the post: I do think that, overall, Valt really does mean well. It’s just that he’s incredibly immature [even amongst his friends who are all also 11-13ish, Valt is still like “the baby” of the group] and is thus ultimately pretty self-centered. He’s not actively trying to hurt anybody though, he’d just prefer to not worry with the messier, more depressing parts of a friendship [bc he obviously doesn’t know HOW]. Unfortunately, Emotional Baggage is a package deal with Shuu, and it can’t be ignored without catastrophic results. And I’ve said that Valt and Shuu’s friendship is toxic, but it actually got that way because of Shuu, mostly; Shuu’s emotional state is a burning garbage fire, and Valt just carelessly fanned the flames instead of grabbing a water hose, if that makes sense. These two got fucked up mainly because of emotional issues that Shuu let fester for too long. And Shuu is likely as fucked up as he is primarily because of his neglectful parents, so, ultimately, I blame Shuu’s parents for this mess. [Well, I blame Lui too to some degree, but Lui’s torment wouldn’t have had such a profound effect on Shuu if Shuu had people to support him after it happened.]
[Also, have you read these yet? {X} {X} I glossed over a lot of pretty important details regarding Shuu’s characterization in this post, because I had already written those two essays before – they are still Highly Relevant.]

Waahhh I would love it if you could write a scenario post FFXII, where an attendant s/o discovers Basch is masquerading as Judge Gabranth??? (like maybe they knew Gabranth before the game and would recognize the voice change once Basch takes up the armor)? Thank you :) I'm so glad there's an FFXII Reader blog.
Everybody loves Lord Gabranth now.
“He’s so kind,” they say.
“I can breathe easy around him now.”
“Lord Larsa’s new rule has brought out the good in everyone.”
But you know better. You know people. Nobody simply changes out of the blue like that! Though relatively new to castle duties, you’ve served as Gabranth’s maidservant since at least the fall of Dalmasca.
Before this “change,” you mostly cleaned, did his laundry, and served him food on the rare occasion he cared to eat in his quarters, so your interactions were limited. But little as you knew him, one thing was certain: like all Judge Magisters, he was to be feared, not adored. And he made sure of it. Once, when he accidentally removed his helmet in your presence, you’d managed to sneak a glance at his face.
He was handsome, to be sure. Exactly what one might imagine if one was stupid enough to romanticize a ruthless Judge Magister. But you knew better, even then, and his eyes were nothing but cold. You easily averted your gaze and left his quarters at once, understanding that you were to speak of it to no one.
Now, suddenly, simply for the death of the Emperor and his mad son, Lord Gabranth has become the kindest man in Ivalice? Preposterous.
Of course, you can’t deny that he is kind nowadays. He acknowledges those who dare to address him, and politely, too.
“Thank you, ________,” he even said this morning, when you brought in his breakfast.
Before then, you weren’t even sure he knew your name. It’s nice, but there has to be something more to his sudden transformation. This Gabranth is not the lord you knew, served, and feared.
Clicking your tongue in frustration, you scrub the floor of his bathroom dutifully. Regardless of his odd change, after all, you still have a job to do. You can’t deny that the Judge Magister certainly does his.
That’s when the sound of shuffling outside snaps you out of your thoughts.
Pausing, you glance up. No one is allowed to be here save you and anyone who would take your place if you were ill, and Lord Gabranth is never home during the day. A thief, then?
You get up and slowly open the door, ready with a broom in hand - when a peculiar sight greets you. Several scars on a muscular back. Old lashings, but not that old - and they sting to even look upon. You stare in horror until something on the bed catches your eye. A helmet, breastplate, gauntlets…
Your gaze snaps back to the scars - or it would, if their owner didn’t just turn to face you.
Your gaze falls to the floor at once. “Forgive me, my lord. I…” Your mind runs over itself trying to think of an excuse, but it’s clear to both of you that his scars distracted you.
Gabranth startles, but his voice is calm. “______. I didn’t realize you were here.”
“I - I was cleaning, Lord Gabranth. Forgive me. I’ll take my tools and leave at once.”
“It really is no matter, _______.”
Your eyebrows furrow. Not at his kind response, but the way he says it. The way he speaks, and his voice… It isn’t just a matter of intonation. You’ve been trying to pin down what it is, but there’s no other way to put it.
His voice is simply….different.
Gabranth’s face now mirrors your knitted brow. “Is aught amiss, _______?”
After a long pause, you softly admit, “Yes.”
His brows lift in surprise at that. “Know that you may speak plainly with me. What is it?”
“…Who are you?”
Gabranth blinks at your sudden question and the way you’ve lifted your broom somewhat, as though ready to defend yourself at any moment. As though it would matter against a Judge Magister. “_______? Have you grown ill?”
“…I’m fine,” you curtly answer. The real Lord Gabranth would be cross at such an accusation. Not concerned. “One does not speak plainly with Lord Gabranth. And…” You rattle away, all your thoughts tumbling out of your mouth, “it would be impossible for him to bear your scars. New scars. Or your voice. Neither was he kind.”
When you finish, Gabranth levels you with such an intense stare that you almost take a step back. Not even the real Lord Gabranth had ever looked at you like that. Still, you hold your ground, even if you’re barely able to stop yourself from nervously gulping.
“Did he hurt you?” is what he asks.
Relief washes over you, but so does alarm. At least he isn’t angry, but…
“No, never,” you murmured. “But—”
Gabranth sighs, letting his shoulders slump as he runs a hand through his short hair. “I had thought my acting fine enough to fool even those closest to my brother. I see I was wrong.”
His brother…? That is the only plausible explanation, you suppose. But why? “Well, yes… You and Lord — the real Lord Gabranth are markedly different.”
You speak without hesitation, but Gabranth doesn’t miss the question in your eyes. When? “During the battle with Vayne,” he answers it. “It was his last wish that I protect Lord Larsa, as he had.”
There are so many questions on your mind. Where did this man come from? Does the Emperor know? And is Lord Gabranth really…?
It isn’t as though he had been anything more than your master, but knowing that someone you knew passed away, and to no one else’s knowledge… Tears prick your eyes, to your confusion, and to this Gabranth’s shock.
Your chest heaves for a moment, taking in the news - and then you school your features into the neutrality of a trained maidservant. But you still can’t bring yourself to speak.
Gabranth watches you for a time, perhaps waiting for your response, but your reaction isn’t lost on him. He lets a moment of silence pass before he speaks again.
“I suppose it didn’t help that I smiled. He wasn’t one to smile, was he?”
The sudden question - or the smile that graces this Gabranth’s features - makes you think of the real one, and how he might look if he smiled. You find that even with one on this Gabranth’s face, you can’t imagine it on the old one.
“No. And neither did your sudden change in manner and temperament,” you say, unable to help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. Gabranth gives the smallest chuckle that makes you laugh even harder - at least until tears begin to slip onto your cheeks. Dropping your broom, you rush to wipe them even as you weep. “I’m sorry…”
“Don’t be.” Gabranth - because that is who he is now - draws closer when it is clear you won’t push him away. He rests a hand on your shoulder. “I am glad - that he had someone who cared for him. I am sorry you could not know. Lord Larsa thought it best.”
Your gaze lowers again. “I had no right to. I was merely his maidservant. I didn’t really know Lord Gabranth.”
“Few did. Nevertheless.”
You can’t help but look up at his kind voice - one that matches his kind gaze. He bears a scar across one eyebrow, and now that you know the truth, you see all the little differences in their appearance. How could you ever have mistaken him for the true Gabranth? Still… he is handsome, just like his brother. And though his voice is much more gravelly, it isn’t unpleasant.
And his form…
His half-naked form.
Suddenly, your face blooms red and you turn your back on the Judge. “I’m sorry for intruding, Lord Gabranth. I’ll take my tools and go.”
You hurry into the bathroom as Gabranth appears to realize his state of undress. When you return, he looks peculiar in a tunic and the bottom half of his armor. Before you can scurry out, however…
“Wait.”
You turn, hoping you are no longer as red as you feel. Now that you’ve realized just how handsome this kind man is, you can’t quite look him in the eye, and heat pricks at your back in embarrassment. You are suddenly aware of how plain you might look in your maidservant’s dress.
“Don’t fret, Lord Gabranth. Your secret is safe with me.”
“It isn’t that. _______… we have our duties, but might we speak again?”
This time, you do gulp. He wants to see you again? “Milord?”
“You knew my brother, and now you know me - something true of no one in Archades but the Emperor. I must admit, I find it a relief.”
Oh.
“Oh. Well…”
“And - I would like to hear of what you knew of him, however little. But I understand if you don’t wish to—”
“I would love to,” you blurt out, before he can withdraw the invitation.
Gabranth pauses, and then smiles, gaze lingering on yours. It seems as though he’s looking at you for the first time. “I am glad to hear it. …Dinner, perhaps?”
“I - I suppose?” You clear the nerves from your throat. What is the matter with you? He’s only asking to speak with you again to discuss his brother. You don’t even know this man, and yet… “Yes.”
“Thank you, _______.”
“Good day, milord.” You nod, giving a quick curtsy before rushing outside with your tools. You lean against the wall as you shut the door behind you, trying to calm your beating heart.
You will mourn Lord Gabranth. He deserves that, at least. But perhaps this new one isn’t so bad after all.
//
Here you go! Thank you so much for the ask! I love Basch and i needed this to kick me back into gear! Love Noah by extension, but I wonder how s/o will react to the knowledge that Basch’s scars were Noah’s doing. I know there wasn’t much romance, but s/o is getting a bit of a crush! :D (And so is Basch.)
I still have the previous asks to answer and I will absolutely get to them! I’ve just gone through a change of life-everythings and so it’s taken me a while to get back into the groove, I’m so sorry guys! But this definitely helped and I’ll be picking up and finishing the other asks soon c: sorry to keep you guys waiting oTL

For the question thing: 3, 10, 11, 16, 18, 20, 24-26, 37-41, 47, 48 [I'm sorry I am very curious x)]
I CHOKED OMFG My fault for not putting limit but oH WELL THANKS FOR ASKING!
3. How old were you/ what year did you join the fandom?:
I WAS 19!! I joined Feb 2013 //3//
10. What is your honest opinion about Akashi?:
I LOVE AKASHI A LOT ;A; When I first joined the fandom and read the manga, I wasn’t that attracted to Akashi, most probably because he gets his focus way later in the story and there wasn’t much to know about him until Fujimaki decides to throws in the feels all at once when Teikou Arc starts and Rakuzan/Seirin match begins ;A;
For me, Akashicchi is more than what meets the eyes, his character has so much depth and I’ll begin with basketball. Akashi probably loves basketball as much as Aominecchi does too tbh, IMO basketball is Akashi’s way out from the pressure that he was put through, basketball was his only escape and most likely the one way for him to have fun with the game and also with the others. It is the sport that connects him with his mom and I just omigawd I have so many feels about Akashi and his mom, we won’t see the end of this post if I start talking about it, but yeah.. Basketball is also important to Akashi because of his mom and that says a lot about his personality. AND HE IS ALSO KIND AND PRECIOUS LIKE IDK WHERE TO BEGIN But there was that one replace chapter where Nijimura saw Akashi at the street and helping people and Akashicchi is such a precious human being and must be protected at all cost ;A;
I get lots of feels for this bae because, even the reason for his change in Teikou is because he doesn’t want to be left behind by his evolving teammates? Like Akashi can’t accept losing (his father can’t accept him not doing well in the sport), and he needs to excel in the sport in order to continue on playing and just can you imagine the pressure that this bae was put through? He was only in middle school and I totally understand how that affected him so much and I don’t blame him at all for what happened in Teikou //sobs I blame his father–
Of course I don’t need to say how much of a good player he is because that’s a well-known fact and OMIGAWD When Akashi reverts back to Oreshi, he is just so effing precious ;; Like he is so awkward with socializing and it is really cute, and his teammates love him a lot because how can they not? Akashi is way too precious and I love him too ;; Like Akashi is way too mature for his age, but he still tries to get along with everyone and in the fandisc, he is super awkward and my feelings for him grows stronger because this precious bae I can’t, AND WE DON’T TALK ABOUT AKASHI IN EXTRA GAME BECAUSE IT’S TOO MUCH I MIGHT CRY ;; A ;;
I actually love both Oreshi and Bokushi, Bokushi is also precious.. he was even self-concious if the others would hate him in the extra game and like omg Akashi actually has so many insecurities but he puts up such a strong front because that is what is expected of him, and yeah this bae must be protected at all cost OTL My honest opinion about Akashi is that I love him ; v ;
11. Who’s the better Light, Kagami or Aomine? Why?:
If we are talking about the better Light in terms of who is better at team play with the Shadow, then it is of course Kagamicchi! His light isn’t as bRIGHT as Aominecchi’s is but Kagamicchi is so good with teamplay with Kurokocchi and that makes him the better light for the shadow.
Aominecchi in my opinion, his light is bRIGHTER than everyone else, and he is also good with working by himself, I think Aominecchi’s way of playing is way too formless that he is better off with shining with his own might. Like of course he is good with the Light/Shadow thing too, but I think what works the best for him is Light/Light combo because that’s the way that Aominecchi can shine the bRIGHTEST but of course having a shadow is good for him too but it doesn’t necessarily have to be a shadow, like even if it is Akashicchi the point guard passing the ball to him, Aominecchi can shine with that, Aominecchi is good as long as he has a ball in his hand yeAH DOES THAT MAKE SENSE.
16. If you could change an episode/chapter, what will it be and why?:
I ACTUALLY want to change the Winter Cup’s result LOLOL To be honest, I still want Rakuzan to win even if that means we won’t get Oreshi anytime soon if that happens bUT If Seirin didn’t win in that Winter Cup, they can try again next year and Seirin would still have most of their player minus Kiyoshi and Rakuzan is the same case too minus Mayumayu and the only reason I want that to happen because that way we can have more KuroBasu and follows this babies in their second year of high school too wHICH MEANS MORE FEELS AND ANGST and just yeah I’m impossible but that’s actually what I wanted, I almost didn’t want Seirin to win all the way there because they lost once to Touou and I think it is just right if they lost once again to Rakuzan because RAKUZAN IS SO STRONG (AND PRECIOUS) ;; A ;;
But like yeah I’m still contented because we get back the precious Akashi bby so like yeah I have no complain ; v ; I want to say I wanted Kaijou to win against Seirin tbh but let’s not talk about that omfg
18. When Kiyoshi sacrificed himself to protect Seirin, what was your reaction?:
I WAS ACTUALLY ON THE VERGE OF CRYING I like Kiyoshi a lot, at that moment I think Kiyoshi is so precious and why would he do that to himself, but then it occurred to me that he is the ultimate papa bear and must be protected at all cost too ;;A;; When Kurokocchi get mad, I was like yOOO BRING IT ON. This is the match that I supported Seirin 2000%.
20. What is your honest opinion about the ‘Shadow and Light’ thing?:
IT IS ACTUALLY A VERY INTERESTING THING. I feel like ‘Shadow and Light’ doesn’t necessarily have to be two players who work together like Kagami and Kuroko or Aho and Kuroko. I feel like even if that other person supports you in some way or another, you can call it Shadow and Light too, even if it is between Aominecchi and Momocchi, you can also call that as Light and Shadow too because Momocchi does help to put Aominecchi’s life together, he probably gonna end up in a drain somewhere if Momocchi isn’t there babysitting him ;; w ;; And for Kise, I feel like he is the light and the whole Kaijou team members are his shadow (yeah not just Kasamatsu) because they all support him in some ways or another and his light shines bright because all of the senpais love him so much ;; w ;;
24. Most hated / least favorite Generation of Miracles:
NONE. OMIGAWD WHY THIS QUESTION EXISTS. I LOVE THEM ALL, I HONESTLY DON’T HATE ANY OF THEM ; A ; THEY ARE ALL PRECIOUS BABIES.
25. Favorite line from the show:
“Shut up you scum! You guys just be ready to lose.” OK JK MY FAVOURITE IS THIS;
Tumblr media
Pretty sure there is a reason why Fujimaki decided that Aomine deserves his own wide panel when he says this ;; w ;;
THE REST UNDER THE CUT BECAUSE LONG LOLOL
26. What do you think about what Takao told Midorima, ‘It’s more like I want you to acknowledge me’?:
I feel like Takao really wants Midorimacchi to acknowledge him in more ways than ones. Like… Basically, you guys know how Midorimacchi is like right? He probably doesn’t pay attention to things that don’t concern him (he didn’t even know Momocchi likes Kurokocchi OMIGAWD), as someone who wants to defeat him and wants to be acknowledged as a rival at that time, I understand how frustrated Takao feels because Midorimacchi was so strong and Takao was just an average player back then, and even if he self-declare that Midorimacchi is the person that he wants to defeat, it is no use if Midorimacchi doesn’t even spare a glance at him, which is why Takao is like I WANT THIS GREENHEAD WITH WEIRD LUCKY ITEM TO PAY ATTENTION TO ME before he defeats Midorima, except that he never get to do that because they ended up at the same school and even work sO WELL TOGETHER, IT IS SO SWEET AND DOKIS.
37. Ao+momo or Ao+kuro?:
Ao+Momo :3
38. Kagakuro or Ao+kuro?:
KagaKuro :3
39. Ao+kuro or Aokise?:
//takes out megapHONE// AOKISEEEEE ;;A;;;
40. Aokise or Ki+kasa?:
Stupid gross AoKise, the ultimate baka couple ; w ;
41. Opinion about Aomine seeing Kise crying:
I CRY TOO OF COURSE. OHMIGAWD I HAVE SO MANY FEELS ABOUT THAT SCENE LIKE, WHEN AOMINECCHI FIRST DEFEATED SEIRIN, HE DOESN’T SHOW THAT MUCH CONCERN (AT LEAST HE DOESN’T LET IT SHOW ON HIS FACE EVEN THOUGH OF COURSE HE STILL FEELS MELANCHOLIC ABOUT IT) BUT LIKE, THE KAIJOU/TOUOU MATCH HAS LOTS OF FEELS AND IT MEANS SO MUCH AND DID YOU LOOK AT THE WAY AOMINECCHI LOOKS AT KISE ;A; Like he is full of I don’t know.. regret? Helpless?
Tumblr media
I doubt Aominecchi regret defeating Kise but like that match is more than its result, it is like a realization for them that they are no longer in the same team, there is no more swinging arms on each other’s shoulders after winning a match anymore, right at that moment, they are rivals, right at that moment, no words from the winner (Aominecchi) can console Kise. BUT This is why I love that quote so much, because Aominecchi recognizes that Kise has try his best and it means so much, because in the past what broke Aominecchi’s teikou self so much is when his opponent gives up without even trying to defeat him. But Kise is different, Kise is that one person who has lost to him for so many countless time, but he is also that one person who will always face him with new determination and claiming that he will defeat Aominecchi again and again.
Kise is persistent, Kise is strong-willed, when Aomine sees him crying on the floor with tears of frustration, I think Aomine feels helpless himself because he can’t do anything, because he knows Kise so well and he will feel humiliated if Aomine tries to console him aND IT HURTS SO MUCH I’M ACTUALLY CRYING AS I WRITE THIS. I’M DONE DISCUSSING THIS ;; A ;;
47. Reo and Alex are canonically not straight, opinion?:
//tHROWS CONFETTI– No but seriously, I like Fujimaki for even throwing in this bits into the series even if it is not stressed on, but like yEAH It is almost a sensitive subject in country like Japan, but Fujimaki be like whatever and throws in these fact and I JUST LOVE IT A LOT, it opens for so much more possibilities within the series (//w\)
48. Favorite ‘Light and Shadow’:
I’M TORN But I guess Kagami/Kuroko because they are the ones which is the most focused on and we get to see the best of them plus they work so well together A++ no flaw. I like Midorimacchi and Takao too ;;A;; ALSO LIGHT/LIGHT COMBO AOMINECCHI AND KISE BECAUSE THE STRONGEST COMBINATION EVER  A++ VERY MUCH IN-SYNC AND UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER THE BEST AHHHHHH >->O

concept if shadow labrys had...
a story mode
it starts off ( continues from ) where labrys gets switched out with her taking over & her beating sho’s ass, however in this storyline she cannot seem to swap back & is stuck taking over labrys for the time being.
she tags along with the it/so’s group until eventually ditching them as the opportunity arose
however she is stopped by yosuke and eventually is back to being stuck with them again
she later opens up to yosuke on why she hated her counterpart and why ‘facing reality sucks but sometimes you have to accept it if it’s perfect or not’. even throwing how she doesnt deserve second chances & he spoke otherwise
this also leads to a flashback of her as ‘beta’ ( my story in which she was the empty shell of a prototype suppression weapon ), realizing she ‘existed’ way long before labrys was born. ( even remembers a little boy with the same features as sho & his ‘father’ figure, figuring out his ‘motive’ )
and before she could thank yosuke for hearing her out and even tell what she got a clue of ( and is starting to have a crush on him after apologizing for misunderstanding her & state she’s another precious cute thing ), the ‘other shadow’ labrys attacks ( w/ another ariadne and she fights it back ). confusing all parties on whos the real one. this pisses shabrys off alot & decides to fight sho’s game
after the brawl, she’s proven herself to be an ally to them ( coughantiherocough )
then she begins to confess her sudden flashback of memories to them ( and why she ‘needs’ to go after sho )
this lead them skeptical at first but yosuke & narukami belies her and decides to invite her along. ( also feels cuz she finally gets accepted on ho much she changed regardless what horrible things she’s done before and that shes imperfect )
they both arrive at the scene and saved adachi right in time. this leads to her confronting sho heads on ( while narukami checks on adachi )
this leads to shabrys permanently facing sho & knock some sense into him heads on. ( even scolding him and telling him that listening to minazuki wasnt gonna help anyone and himself )
after beating sho the second time and the final boss, she passes out suddenly ( hearing echoes of voices calling out ‘shadow labrys’ )
labrys smiles at her, while shabrys is just ???? WHAT????
‘ ya’ changed. and you really knocked some sense into sho too. ya may say you hate everyone and destroy everythin’ ya touch. but deep down, ya don’t and i’m proud of you shadow lab-- sister.  ‘
‘ i knew i wouldn’t like you. now head back dumbass, everyone’s waiting for ya’ know? ‘ eVEN MOCKED HER ON THE LAST PART AAAA
this ends with shabrys smiling about the acknowledgement and gave bk labrys’ control of her body becuz FEELS
theres a special ending where she gets a body of her own ( with scraps of unit 24′s parts and her weapon but modified). making her labrys’ twin sister
a side character to adachi’s story ( with brotp feels trip )
starts p much with her beating sho’s ass ( same as above ), only this time she’s sent back to the lowest levels & now must work her way up again. until eventually she meets up with adachi
the two have a short brawl against one another ( to see who’s fake ) but realize their both on the same agenda & ‘observing’ the events unfolding.
this lead to being each other’s confidants and sharing intel
eventually the two came to an agreement of putting a stop to sho’s plan & she promises to bring him back where he came from afterwards
‘ i started this arena before it become cool ‘ ‘ sounds rough but ok ‘
*SHABRYS HAS BECOME ADACHI’S GUIDE*
insert inside jokes and insults @ each other like “ gramps “ “ gremlin”
also shabrys bridal carries adachi ( cuz he got hurt otl )
the two have a heart to heart ( share & tell feelings talk )
insert brotp goals
the two begin to tag team in destroying the crystal ( which later catches sho’s attention @ both of them )
shabrys strikes sho with her arm range attack ( after he badly wounded adachi )
this leads to them fighting, but sadly left shabrys hurt ( causing adachi to stand up again and fight sho for himself the way shabrys did for herself *and maybe protect adachi cuz ‘they aren’t friends’*
final boss shows up and they tag team to buy time until narukami shows up ( and how weak shabrys was getting from sho’s heavy attack on her )
after the fight, shabrys kept her word and showed adachi towards a miniature tv he could use to head back
‘ you know, you aren’t bad as you say you are grandpa. ‘
‘ okay gremlin, don’t go sob story on me. i get emotional ‘
‘ just go asshole. but still, it was fun while it lasted. now go, afterall, you still got that dojima guy to talk to right? ‘
‘ wait-- who told you--- right, that brat ‘
then they just exchange goofy smiles @ each other and shabrys sees him off before she joins the it/so team as labrys again. ( meaning it still happens that labrys accepted shabrys’ chara development and is proud of her for doing so )
