Continued from here | @blueheartedmayor
Oh... This had certainly lost any sort of humour long ago. As the stranger took in his surroundings, Damien leaned back in his seat with folded arms and a bemused expression. The Mayorâs office had been a target of a fair few pranks over the years, but nothing like this had been attempted before. Needless to say, Damien was not a fan of this.
(He didnât even play the part right.)
âRight. You donât mean to âintrudeâ. Yet here you are, dressed as me, acting as me, claiming you are supposed to be me. Alright, âDamienâ, what brings you all the way here today? What were you intending to do today? Partake in a photo shoot, mayhaps?â He didnât need some group of opposition to spark back up the rumours that Damien didnât do anything as Mayor while ignoring the hours spent trying to run the city as best as he could.
It really isn't difficult to appear confused. Mark is confused. "A what? No. I was intending to look over some new sewer system plans." A photo shoot sounds much more pleasant. And less tedious. "I know what this must seem like, but I'm not lying. This isn't a prank."
His identity may be fake, but there's no intended scheme in his presence, this time. There must be a way to get back, to get out of wherever he's been dropped.
But if Damien exists here, does that mean-? "You don't know a Mark, do you?" He can't keep the trepidation out of his voice. Damien hasn't recognized him as anyone else, though, so it should be fine. He shakes his head with a sigh. "Never mind. You don't have to believe me, but I would appreciate if you told me where I am."
The room is scrutinized again. "And... what year it is?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~°~âŠ~°~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   âCan I ask why youâre wearing a jester hat?â
   You looked up at the woman in front of you.
   âThis?â She said, âItâs part of my character. Though what character I donât exactly know yet.â
   You shrugged. It wasnât the weirdest thing youâd seen since you arrived at Smosh.
   Youâd just arrived a few minutes ago, finally making your way to the right studio. Spencer hadnât given you exact directions and youâd had to ask multiple people which way it was.
   âSo are you new here?â The jester-hat woman asked. âIâm Amanda, by the way.â
   âNo, Iâm just visiting,â you gestured to your lanyard, âIâm (Y/n), Spencerâs partner.â
   Amanda cocked her head to the side. âHuh, so you are real. There goes my 20 bucks.â
   You chuckled. âYeah, Spencer invited me to come watch the shoot today. He said he wanted to show me something, but I donât know where he is.â
   âFound him,â Amanda said, pointing in the direction of SpencerÂ
   You watched as he walked towards you. You took in his attire. He was wearing a black wolf-themed t-shirt, khaki shorts, and dark sunglasses, a sword at his hip.
   âOh boy,â Amanda patted your shoulder, âGood luck with that.â
   She stepped away leaving you alone, before Spencer arrived in front of you.
   âHey Spence,â you said. âIâ
  âSo,â he interrupted. He put on a voice, completely in character. âYou must be the new visitor here at Smosh.â
   He indicated the visitorâs lanyard you wore around your neck. You were only confused for a moment before you realized. This must be what he wanted to show youâa character. You decided to sit back and see where this went.Â
   âThis studio is a freaking hellscape,â he continued, âIf you wish to survive here, you must listen to these instructions, and listen carefully.â
   You raised an eyebrow, stifling a laugh.Â
   Spencer pulled his sunglasses down, breaking character for a moment â(Y/n), this is serious. Never laugh at the Chosen.â
   âThe Chosen?âÂ
   âYes,â Spencer said, becoming the character again, voice and all. âThe Chosen. Master of wit and combat. Downfall of all my enemies.â
   âRight,â you nodded your head, an amused look on your face, âGot it. Continue.â
   âAs I was saying,â Spencerâthe Chosenâkept going, âlisten up if you want to have a ratâs chance at walking out of here alive.â
   âNumber one. Never ask Angela about the chronology of any important historical events.â
   âHey!â The woman who must have been Angela shouted in outrage, overhearing.
   âItâs ok, Ange,â Amanda consoled her, âI get my ones and elevens confused too.â
   âMoving on,â Spencer continued. âNumber two. If you ever need to coerce Shayne into doing your bidding, use a La Croix. Some might say itâs his life force.â
   You nodded, playing along with the bit.
   âAnd finally, there are many aesthetically pleasing males here. More aesthetically pleasing than I. An epidemic, if you will. However, even though you may be tempted, pay no attention to any of them under any circumstances. They are all intellectually my inferior, trust me.â
   You giggled, rolling your eyes at your boyfriend.   Â
   âI doubt that,â you said.
   âI am always correct. And I assure you, my IQ is that of anââ
   âNo, I meant you know I think youâre the most attractive one here.â
   âHave you heard of the warrior known as Damien?â
   âDoesnât matter,â you smiled, wrapping your arms around Spencer, âBecause I only have eyes for you.â
   âWell in that case, Iâm not going to argue with you.â
   âI thought you were always right?â You shot back.Â
   âAh, I see youâve unlocked my one weakness: beautiful people.â
   You blushed, placing your hands on his chest. âYou have a weakness?â
   âI know, surprising. But even Hercules had his own form of kryptonite.â
   âLet me guess, you fought with him,â you teased, taking a step back. âWhat is it, clubs? Anvils? Some mythical monster?â
   âNo, it was Megaraâs love. Did you even watch the Disney movie?â
   You laughed. âSo, beautiful people, huh?â
   You looked into Spencerâs eyes. âI seem to have that weakness too.â
   âThen youâll know how serious it is,â he said, âAnd youâll know what the only way of defending yourself against its hold is.â
   You looked at him expectantly.
   âWe must kiss.â
   âOnly if itâs absolutely necessary,â you played along.
   âVery,â Spencer mumbled, leaning in to kiss you.
   Your lips met his and you wrapped your arms around his neck. He pulled you in, his hand tight around your back.
   âSpencer!â
   You pulled apart slowly and both looked in the direction of the voice.Â
   âMake out on your own time, we need you on set!â Amanda called.
   âWell,â Spencer said, turning back to you. âIt seems I must begin another missionâone with significantly less hot babes.â
   You rolled your eyes at him.
   âIâll see you later then,â you kissed him gently, âIâll try to survive as long as I can.â
   âBest of luck. And remember, I may be the Chosen,â he said, âBut I choose you.â
   He bent down and kissed your hand slowly, before tipping his non-existent hat to you and walking back to set.Â
   You sat down on a chair towards the back of the room, reflecting on the interaction youâd just had.
   You loved Spencer so much. It was things like this that reminded you why.Â
   You watched the whole shoot, enjoying seeing some of what Spencer did as a living. You knew he was talented and funny and dedicatedâbut watching him work just renewed that knowledge.
   You were more in love with him than when you got there.Â
   The shoot ended and Spencer walked over to you, wrapping his arms around you and giving you a quick kiss on the forehead.Â
   âWell, whatâd you think?â He asked, back to himself.
   âI thought you were incredible,â you answered, trying your hand at the Chosen voice.
   Spencer smiled, âNot bad, babe. But maybe you should leave the Chosen-ing to me.â
   âYou are the master,â you saluted.
   There was silence for a moment.
   âSo,â you began, tracing your finger along one of his arm tattoos, âDo you think you could, um, bring some of that Chosen stuff home?â
   âReally?â Spencer raised an eyebrow.
   âYeah, I donât know,â you said, âI think itâs kinda sexy.â
   âYou do?â Spencer looked shocked and a bit flustered before clearing his throat and covering it up.
   âI mean,â he said, his voice deeper, âOf course you do.â
   You laughed, beginning to walk towards the door, grabbing Spencerâs hand as he followed you.
   âSo,â he said, putting back on the Chosen voice as you giggled, âYouâve become enamored with the Chosen?â
He paused.
   âImpressive.â
Cabin Fever - (Regina George x F Reader)
Fandom;
Mean Girls (2024)
Pairings:
Regina George x Reader
Summary:
The students of Northshore go on a school trip for a week in the forest. You end up getting to know the apex predator in a way youâd never seen her before.
Warnings;
Underage smoking, underage drinking, implied ED
Parts
Part 1// Part2// Part 3// Part 4// Part 5// Part 6
School trips were never really your thing. Sure it was good to be out of classes but to you it just seemed like an extension of school and honestly youâd rather be anywhere else.
One of the teachers thought it would be a bright idea to take you all out of school for a week to spend it in a forest âimmersed in natureâ. Possibly their tactic to get everyone to stop being at eachother a throats especially after the whole Cady incident a few months back.
It didnât help that your best friends Janis and Damien both ended up getting sick at the last minute so couldnât come with you , now you had to stay in your shared cabin alone. At least you didnât have to room with a random person the whole trip, small mercies I guess.
The coach drive there was boring. You sat near the front, making sure to put your bag on the seat next to yours so nobody tried to sit with you. Of course Queen Regina and her minions took ownership of the back of the coach, thatâs why you decided to sit upfront. Best to stay out of the firing line.
Itâs not that you hated Regina, you understand why sheâs the way she is. Itâs a smart move to position yourself at the top of the food chain to avoid being mauled. Your tactic has always been to just steer clear of the food chain entirely which has worked so far.
The coach finally comes to a stop after a few hours and everyone shoves their way off and mills around in groups before a teacher starts to call out names and lodge numbers so people can go and unpack.
As soon as you turn the corner you hear Reginaâs shriek of horror.
âEww, what the fuck are these. I thought we were staying in chaletsâ
You roll you eyes. The cabins were clean, neat, maybe a little rustic. Of course Regina would still have to be dramatic about it.
âIâm sure forcing us to stay in one of these is some form of neglect.â She snarks at Mrs Norbury as she takes her hot pink suitcase over to her accommodation.
Luckily you get assigned one of the cabins at the edge of the forest, itâll be quiet. Unfortunately itâs the next cabin over from the plastics. Not that theyâll even notice you there, Iâm not sure any of them even know your name. It feels safe to be invisible, if not a bit lonely.
Once everyone is settled, a teacher comes round to each cabin explaining that tonight you can just get settled. No hiking or activities today, just a campfire and dinner later. That suits you perfectly. You sit on the creaky bed in your cabin, pull out your Switch console and start to get lost in a game. Hours pass before dinner call and you make your way, alone to the campfire.
You sit on your own, out of the way of all the different high school cliques. At this point you wish Janis and Damien were here. It feels vulnerable sitting alone.
To distract yourself you watch the other groups like a documentary maker. Noting the way they interact, the tension between them and the clique next to them. However nobody quite catches your eye like Regina.
Sheâs like a lioness. She has this invisible hold over everyone. They can all fuck about in their own groups but as soon as someone steps a foot out of place she roars and swishes her mane and everyone scampers back to obedience.
Currently sheâs sitting at a bench with Gretchen and Karen, theyâre talking enthusiastically about their plans for the trip; makeovers, cabin decoration, girly shit. Regina seems zoned out, sheâs been pushing the same bit of food around her plate for a good 15 minutes. Every few minutes itâs like sheâs trying to solve a puzzle, rearranging everything until teachers tell us to go back to our cabins and rest for the evening. Youâre not sure you saw her eat a single thing, the food is probably not up to her standards.
Regina stands and suddenly seems snapped out of her trance, flashing a grin and summoning Karen and Gretchen back to the cabin with her.
You follow, a good distance behind. No point getting too close to danger, and slip back to your Cabin unnoticed.
Thereâs not much to do alone in a forest so you end up putting on a movie and start a new page in your sketchbook. Janis and Damien are the only ones to know you draw. Thatâs how you ended up speaking with Janis in the first place. If that news ever got back to Regina sheâd probably have something to finally pick on you for, but so far you arenât even on her radar.
You lose a lot of time sketching out some of the trees you can see out of the window, lots of tall, looming pines fill the page, you start to sketch a lion between the trees.
Eventually darkness creates a blanket around the forest. Thereâs a soft glow from many lamps outside of cabin doors, but past that, the forest seems endless in the dark. Itâs 10:30pm. Teachers are fast asleep. Students definitely are not.
You hear snickering coming from the plastics cabin. Their lights are still on, not that you care at all.
Since all the teachers are asleep you decide that itâs probably safe to sneak out and have a cigarette. You stand down the side of the cabin so that your silhouette is obscured slightly by a bush and hunt through your pockets for a lighter. Finally you light the cigarette, trying to blow the smoke downwind, away from the teachers window.
âKaren! Fuck! Would you just stop puking, shut up!â
You watch from the shadow as Karen falls out of the door and begins to heave into the bush next to their window. Gretchen follows quickly, shaking Karen by the shoulders, desperately trying to get her to shut up so they donât wake anyone. Regina steps out too, slightly loosing balance and nearly falling down the steps after them.
Clearly theyâre all drunk. Someone must have snuck alcohol in.
Regina tries to keep a composed look but you see panic flash across her face briefly as her eyes scan around them, watching for any witnesses. You stay completely still against the cabin wall.
Karen finally stops for a second and they grab her by the arms to try and get her back inside. Their balance isnât very good either and on the way in Reginaâs foot connects briefly with a terracotta plant pot which wobbles for a second and then crashes to the ground, smashing over the front step. A sound that cuts through the night air.
The light to the teachers cabin flicks on.
You quickly drop the cigarette and stomp it out before silently scrambling back into your room, making sure the door closes soundlessly, watching intently through the window.
Mrs Norbury storms over to the plastics lodge, already suspecting they caused the noise.
You canât make out exactly whatâs being said. Thereâs a lot of shouting, from both parties. Then Mrs Norbury leaves, and the plastics light goes off too.
You quickly get into bed. Itâs unlikely anyone will check in on you, but you decide itâs time to sleep anyway, itâs late, and drift off to the sound of the wind through trees. The wind sounds faintly like a roar.
In the morning you shower and begin to get changed when thereâs a knock at your door.
âRegina will be rooming with you for the rest of the week, make sure she doesnât try sneaking out.â
Platonic!Yan batfam with young adult reader. Part 5
[Part 4]
Note: Reader is 18-22 years old. Gn reader
Content warning: being treated like a child, being looked down on, obsessions, soft yandere but still a yandere, reader has memory issues and it's ambiguous as to why, delusional batfam, batfam as a whole basically view you as a child younger then Damien despite you being older, dissociation, abduction, drugging, so many lies
Focus Bruce Wayne (all his POV)
-----
Bruce hadn't wanted you to ever see the cruelty of the world. It's why he and your siblings worked so hard to prepare a room for you in the manor as swiftly as they could. You were too good for Gotham, maybe even the world. He wanted your integration into the family as seemless as possible. Painless too. But maybe he should have listened to his youngest after that first visit of his.
Damian had been insistent you couldn't handle life on your own. That you needed them to care for you, which he agreed with! He just also knew he couldn't just take you. They were heros they couldn't just abduct you. He told Damian and the others to treat you like a feral cat. Stay close but give you space, step in when need be and let you warm up to them. And look what happened.
You were barely here mentally. The trauma haze and shock yet to leave you, if not made worse by the lie *he* told you. You'd forgive him once you were better, you'd realize he was just doing what he had to do as your father. The risk of you going home was too great now.
He remembered the panic when you woke up in the room the family had made for you in the cave. He had been there in costume. The sight of him had managed to calm you. He was glad for that, it meant you thought of him as safe. You shouldn't considering he lied to your face.
The lie was simple one, easily kept up by the entire family. The mugging you had seen planted a target on you. The woman you tried to save, her parents were well-known crimelords in Star City, and they blamed *you* for their daughter's death. A hit was out on you; so you had to stay here with them until it was safe.
The news had made the shock you were in worse, making your mental state deteriorate more than when you'd first arrived. But he was happy to see the moments where the fog lifted, where you opened up to them again. Once he was sure you were attached, he'd let them all meet you outside of the costumes but that was a while away.
By the third day you'd gone from a husk to a crying mess. They'd all tried to consol you even himself. He made a promise that soon things would get better. And they would! You'd join the family, he'd spoil you with anything and everything you could dream of. You'd be in the manor properly and not in the cave.
Your sadness was a knife in his heart. Like any good parent, he just wanted you to be safe and happy. Bruce knew that for now, safety was key. Still he wouldn't lie again and say he wasn't envious when one of your siblings got you to smile. So far Damian and Jason had been the ones managing to get you to relax best. The nickname Sparky had taken over among all of them.
There were a few moments where your panic would rise up, you'd demand to know when you could go home becoming hysterical at the idea of losing your job and subsequently your home. He knew you wouldn't lose your home since it was here with them as for a job? You were still so young you didn't need one. Still, you'd work yourself up so much that whoever was near had to drug you. The tranquilizer was a gentle one. You were only out a few hours and much calmer when you came to. The downside is you forgot a lot that happened, though for now, that was a blessing.
He couldn't wait for you to meet his father figure, your grandfather Alfred. Sure, you'd met him when you first got here, but you didn't remember it. It's probably for the best, considering you'd likely have put the 2 and 2 together before he was ready for you to have that information.
Bruce reached over to your resting form and fixed the blanket that had fallen off of your shoulder. Soon, you'd take your place in the family, and no one was having an easy time waiting for it.
I just read your rules so I'm reasking. Can you write Sam from seduce me comforting a reader who is recovering from anorexia? I don't have a POV preference, just X reader.
Hello Anon your initial ask was totally fine FYI. But, Sorry this took so long. I am a procrastinator and Iâve been super busy. I was super careful to not make this too triggering and to not romanticise anything. So I hope you enjoy it. I hope you are doing well! Remember that recovery is not a linear process! You are strong and any progress is still good progress!
approx 1k words
TW: Mentions of Eating disorders (Anorexia) and restriction. Unhealthy thought patterns mentioned. concept of good and bad foods mentioned.
Tags: Sam X reader, 2nd person, Damien mentioned. Cuddles, fluff, tears.Â
It was hard for you to have such a busy household. It wasnât like you disliked having the boys around to keep you company all the time. It was truly lovely to have a wonderful family. However, their constant presence made it a lot harder to keep to certain behaviours you had in the past and to keep them unnoticed âAnd that is a good thingâ you try to tell yourself. You were right of course, not that the unkind voice in the back of your head wanted you to acknowledge that. You want to recover, to commit. But it's hard alone. Having five nosey, caring incubi in your house meant that you had to eat three meals a day at least. Full meals. One of them was always cooking for you, convincing you to try something new, or to have a cheeky desert. And you both loved and hated it. They encouraged you to eat foods you would never even consider eating before. You canât help but wonder if they knew what you were going through, do Demons even experience things such as this? Or is this a purely human phenomenon?
There was unfortunately no way Damien didnât know what you were going through. First thing you thought about when you had pulled up to the house the day grandfather had died was that you didnât have to recover anymore, as there was nobody to make you. Living alone was the prime opportunity for you to have what you wanted, and that was all you thought about. Thoughts of frustration plagued you when Damien had told you his brothers had cooked for you when you had first met, that is when he revealed he could read your mind. He had promised to keep your secret, but that didnât stop the others noticing some weird habits you had compared to the other humans they had observed.Â
Over the last few months you had gotten pretty close to Sam, his brash humour distracted you from the voice in the back of your mind. Not to mention he was very attractive to you. He taught you a lot; about him, his culture and why he left the demon world. His dietary habits had begun to rub off on you too. Considering he worked out very often he ate lots and lots. He would always encourage you to eat what he was making, even if it was only a few bites.Â
âOh come on doofus! Please just try it? I'm sure you will love it!â he teased. Waving a fork full of chicken alfredo in your face. You had sat with him as he made it, it smelled amazing filling the room and your lungs with its aroma. Sam explained that you should have some protein with every meal and lightly chastised you on how poor your daily protein intake is. You resisted at first, unwilling to eat yet. You were worried he wouldnât ever like you if you didnât look how you wanted for him. But⊠Samâs persistence wore you down.Â
âOkay, okay, just as long as we eat together.â
Sam smirked and served you a portion. It was larger than what you would usually eat - âIâm supposed to be recovering, it does not matterâÂ
âCome onâ he beckoned you, âlet's eat upstairs in my roomâ. You nodded, following him as he carried both bowls and sat down on his bed. His room was pretty, filled with workout equipment, trinkets, his game console and the books he was learning to read. You played with your food for a while, talking Samâs ear off as a way to distract him. It worked until he finished his food. You should have known better that he always wolves down his meals. He looked at you with a concerned look, he placed his hand on your knee.Â
"Do you think Iâm stupid doofus?â
You looked at him confused, planning to feign innocence. You opened your mouth to speak but he continued.Â
âI donât remember what humans call it, but I know what you are going through. I can tell, and have been able to for weeks. I understand that it's hard, but I want to support you (Y/N) In anyway I can. And I will, because I love youâ You looked at him surprised as he cupped your face and kissed your cheek. âIâll still love you no matter what you look like, because I love you not your body.â He smiled and rubbed your cheek. âI'll support you even if you donât feel the same. My love is not conditionalâÂ
You sat smiling like a wordless idiot, grinning at him red in the face. He twirled the pasta on to the fork and held it up to you. âNow come on, just a few more bites,â he smiled. âEverytime I eat from now on you should too! you should try everything, even if it's just a few bites.â you grimaced and looked away.Â
âBut what if I-â you held your tongue. What if you become undesirable, what if he doesnât like you anymore, what if he's lying to youâŠ.but what if he isnât. You looked up at him, he seemed so genuine.Â
âCome on! I'm a good cook!â he exclaimed. Besides it will be good for usâ he paused,âgood for youâ.
âYou promise? You wonât get tired of it, will you?âÂ
He nodded, beaming up at you. âI swear on my nameâ he moved his other hand from your knee to his heart. âNow come on, let me feed you. Iâll feed you forever if you need me tooâ
Blushed and let him feed you. Maybe you aren't alone this time and maybe, just maybe, you won't be again.Â
Matthewâs fraternal support
The brothers have a very strong bond and have always tried to support each other, even in the Abyssal Plains. Now that they are in the human world, they are freer in their actions and they continue to help each other even without magic. How does Matthew show his support? A glimpse at how he uses his own skills to help his brothers. (The other brothers get their own scenarios)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
-I don't own the game or the characters-Â Â Â Â Â
Among his brothers, Matthew is the one most likely to attract attention with his cheerfulness. Not all of this is always meant honestly, because like Erik, he has put up a kind of protective shield around himself in the Abyssal Plains to protect himself from the harsh reality. In the human world, this mask is much weaker, only when he is stressed or insecure does he seem happier and more exhilarated than he feels inside. But he also likes to use this cheerful manner to cheer up those who mean a lot to him. In the Abyssal Plains, he liked to create things to take his mother's mind off her worries. Now it's his brothers, for whom he likes to play the over-the-top clown, even if he often has to listen to teasing for it. Erik in particular, who tends to be calm and level-headed, benefits from the fact that Matthew seems to have a nose for when a bit of a good mood can work wonders. Sometimes just cracking silly jokes or fooling around is enough to put a smile on Erik's face and while you might not expect it, Matthew is quite good at reading the mood of a room and acting accordingly. And what does it matter if he makes a fool of himself to make his brother feel better. His newfound passion for computer and console games is something he also uses to support his brother Sam, mostly unnoticed by him. Because while neither of them would ever say it out loud, when it comes to competitive gaming, it's still best for the own ego to beat a brother. And Sam in particular, who has to hold back a lot, needs an ego boost from time to time. As such, Matthew is sometimes not as good as he could be in providing Sam with an opponent to defeat. Not that he would ever seriously let Sam know.
"What's the matter with him?" Matthew cocked his head slightly as he watched Sam, who had stomped angrily across the living room only to slam the door to one of the bedrooms behind him. When the door almost broke off its hinges, James voice immediately came from the kitchen, "Sam! Stop that!" Erik, who was sitting next to Matthew on the sofa, looked from the kitchen door to the room where Sam had disappeared and shrugged his shoulders. "He was in a bad mood yesterday. He was probably upset about something. You know himâŠâ Matthew nodded thoughtfully as he leaned back, not taking his eyes off the door.
A few hours later, Sam's mood hadn't improved. Matthew had been trying to figure out what had happened and from the way James was behaving towards his brother, Matthew's best guess was that the two had fallen out over some minor issue. They all needed little breaks from each other now and then, none of them were used to being so constantly surrounded by others, which was especially true for Sam. Matthew knew he valued his freedom and that being unable to do what he wanted bothered him more than any other brother. But aside from freedom there was something else that Sam loved as his brother knew and that was winning a competition. Matthew grinned as he came up with a plan.
Less than twenty minutes later he was sitting on the sofa in front of the big screen TV and turned up the console game volume. Damien had kindly taken James and Erik out of the house on the pretense of going shopping so that Matthew and Sam could be noisy to their hearts' content. And it didn't even last the entire intro of the game before Sam appeared in the living room doorway. "Where are the others?" "Shopping," was Matthew's curt reply as he tweaked the game's settings with the controller. "Hm. Good. And what are you doing there?â Sam asked as he approached the sofa.
Matthew bit back a grin. Sometimes his older brother was really easy to bait. Without taking his eyes off the screen, he replied, "That? Oh, that's a new game. A sequel to the battle game you were so incredibly bad at..." "Me? Bad? In your dreams, Goblin!â And then Sam appeared in Matthew's field of vision as he flopped down on the sofa next to him. Showing indifference, the latter tossed him a controller, ignoring the nickname Sam had given him, "If you say so."
A few hours later, Damien had already returned with James and Erik, Matthew, Sam and Damien were sitting on the sofa laughing. Erik and James had also joined them, even if neither of them liked games of this kind. The mood was lively and Sam suddenly threw up his hand in triumph, "Won!" Matthew sat back on the sofa, defeated. "This was pure luck. Next time I'll win.â Sam just laughed and started a new game, while James, unnoticed to Sam, put a hand on Matthew's shoulder and smiled gratefully at him before he and Erik made their way to the kitchen.
Several days later it was Erik who, after an unsuccessful attempt at flirting, carried his bad mood like a shield in front of him. As far as Matthew knew, rejection from humans wasn't something Erik really cared about, but this time his big brother seemed to be plagued by self-doubt. A feeling that Matthew could certainly relate to. And for exactly that reason, something that Matthew wanted to distract his brother from.
And he made sure there was an opportunity to do just that. First, he asked Erik for help, nothing out of the ordinary, just some fraternal advice he supposedly wanted to get. Just having his little brother need his advice was something Matthew knew was balm for Erik's battered ego. But of course, he wasn't done yet.
As soon as Erik had made himself reasonably comfortable at the dining table, Matthew shifted to the side, only to be able to slip off the chair in a particularly theatrical manner. He called it an accident when he got back on his feet. "Stupidity" was commented on by Erik, whose face twitched slightly. A second step. Now some funny comments followed, built into the conversation between the two and with each sentence Matthew could see how Erik's mood slowly improved. A little joke here, a little clumsiness there, and by the time Erik joined in the admittedly stupid jokes, Matthew knew he'd chosen the right path.
It didn't take long for Damien to join the conversation, followed by Sam, who, as was his habit, crossed his arms and occasionally rolled his eyes. When James joined them and even put on the table the cookies that Matthew had baked the day before, Erik seemed to have forgotten, at least for the moment, that something had bothered him. And when the biscuits were eaten and the little encounter was over? Then Matthew was hugged by Erik, a whispered "Thank you!" followed and Matthew beamed all over his face when Erik, visibly more relaxed, turned away from him to continue his daily schedule.
The BatKids as the Gotham Region Gym Leaders
Gym Leader Number Three: Stephanie Brown (The Psychic Type Gym Leader)
Stephanie as a Gym Leader: Stephanie as a Psychic Type Gym Leader is a bit different from what most trainers expect from another Gym Leader of the same type. Whereas the others may be more stern, or carry out a more pretentious attitude, Stephanie is very laid back, but also very quick to let lose and have fun with the battle. Though she chose Psychic as her type because most PokĂ©mon are some shade of purple, she does have a deep respect for the kind, and is always interested to learn more about their nature and power. Although sheâs not the strongest, most trainers who walk out of the Gym leave with a great sense of passion for battling thatâs rekindled by Stephanieâs exuberance, and a deep respect for the Gym Leaderâs attentiveness towards her team and their well-being. Sheâs the most criticized Gym Leaders by the upper class of the Gotham Region due to not being directly part of the Wayne legacy like most of the other Gym Leaders, but that only makes her work harder to prove to herself that she fits in well with the rest of them.
Gym Set Up: Where Damienâs Gym is more dark, and Dukeâs is more aesthetically city like, Stephanie decided to keep her Gym a bit more vibrant with (you guessed it) a pastel purple Gotham diner aesthetic. When you enter youâll be directed to a diner booth where a gym trainer will hand you a menu with a riddle on it. After reading the riddle the answer will lead you to a different part of the diner (kinda like Lenoraâs Gym), but you have to be careful because a Gym trainers will be waiting at each checkpoint (thereâs five right answers but eight check points) to see if you solved the riddle right, and if you didnât theyâll be prepared to battle you. Once you solved all riddles or defeated all the Gym Trainers, then youâll be sent to face off Stephanie. If Stephanieâs Gym is one of the first that you face, the Gym trainers will have teams consisting of Slowpoke, Smoochum, Abra, and Mime Jr.. If youâre facing Stephanie somewhere along the middle, her Gym Trainers will have teams of Kadabra, Girafirig, Xatu, and Meowstic. If Stephanie is one of the last Gym Leaders that you face her Trainerâs teams will consist of Slowbro, Sigilyph, Medicham, Hatterene, and Alakazam.
Gym Team Roster (Early Journey Edition): If you battle Stephanie early during your journey her team will mostly consist of first stage psychic PokĂ©mon, including- Gothita, Spoink, and Munna. She chose Gothita because of itâs tight aesthetic to Gotham as a whole, Spoink because of its ability to dodge attacks by jumping, and Munna because itâs the offspring of the first PokĂ©mon her mother got her. If defeated Stephanie will hand you a TM for Trick Room.
Gym Team Roster (Late Journey Edition): For Stephanieâs late journey team she will have a fully evolved Gothitelle as her first PokĂ©mon, followed by a Claydol at the recommendation of Tim. Her third PokĂ©mon is a Delphox to fend off against any bug type PokĂ©mon that can pose a threat to her team. Her fourth partner is Musharna, the same one her mother gifted her, to hopefully put things in her favor halfway through the battle. Her fifth team member is a Gardevoir that was given to her by Cass as a Ralts, and her last PokĂ©mon is the first PokĂ©mon she captured by herself, a swift and purple Starmie. If defeated at this stage Stephanie will hand you a TM for Calm Mind.
Vigilante Team: Her vigilante team consists of a Gallade to match with Cass, a Goodra that she adores because itâs purple and really good at consoling victims, a Galarian Rapidash for quick transportation when needed, and a Swoobat for aerial assistance.
Civilian Party: Stephanie allows herself to indulge more into her purple aesthetic with her civilian team. She holds onto the Musharna that was gifted to her by her mother, but some purple squad additions include an Espurr, an Espeon, a playful Delcatty at the request of Damien, and a rare Victini that was gifted to her from Bruce.
Welcome to (yet another) fic WIP, because I have no self-control and always want to share everything and this fic in particular is just going very well and I wanna talk about it all the time.
Title: pyrophytic
Pairing: Damien/Huxley
Rating: T (teen)
Warnings: none for this excerpt, but Iâm drawing a lot on my own memories of wildfires every summer and it shows
(I also shared part of it here and here!)
Huxleyâunbothered by the lack of a responseâreaches for the handheld console left on the coffee table. The familiar video game sounds resume where they left off. Itâs nice, just sitting together like this, and Damien lets his head rest against Huxleyâs shoulder to watch. He ends up semi-caged in, pulled closer, since the game requires both hands. But he doesnât mind.
Through the sounds of Donkey Kong beating the absolute hell out of Kirby is the T.V. turned down low. Really, itâs just barely loud enough to be audible. But the longer itâs on, the more Damien finds his attention tuned to it. Especially when it becomes less of a jumbled, mashed-up noise and more individual sounds.
Some of those sounds are words. Theyâre spoken in such a pronounced, distinct way that it canât be anything other than a news reporter. He wants to make a joke about Huxley watching the news in the middle of the day, like some kind of senior citizen (as if he doesnât do the same thing) but just a snippet of what he catches kills the quip before it even has a chance to live.
â...roughly two-hundred acres are said to be burning, and while it isnât close enough to any populated areas to issue level-three evacuations, the towns in the surrounding vicinity have been told to have go-bags ready and remain on standby, also known as a level-one evacuation,â the reporter, a woman in a blue dress, tells the camera. It cuts to footage of a forest set ablaze, a hellscape of orange and red. âFactors like wind direction are enough to influence the course a wildfire is burning in a matter of moments, and itâs always better to be prepared should the levels change. Weâll keep you updated as the situation progresses.â
It cuts to an ad, and Damien swallows hard. Heâd noticed a tan haze settling on the edges of the horizon on the drive over, but hadnât thought much of it. Dahlia sits in a sort of valley, and the air quality fluctuates often. Especially in summer. And he didnât notice the smell of smoke, so clearly it isnât that bad. At least, not bad or close enough to the city for it to be noticeable. But stillâŠ
His hands clench into fists, grabbing at the denim of his jeans. The footage and the womanâs words have his stomach clenching too, into knots. Fire. So much fire. Destroying everything in its path, consuming, greedy for all the fuel the seasonally-dried forest has to offer.
Sometimes he hates his magic.
Hi there! I just saw Damien's really lovely birthday post for Shayne. Can I ask you if they are still best friends? Obviously, as Damien said in his post they are close friends but are they still BFF? I don't watch Smosh content as much as I used to, but I have seen Damien and Shayne in a few videos together recently and it seems to me their dynamic/energy is a little bit off. I'm (hopefully) completely wrong, but it just makes me a little uneasy.
tbf idk them so i canât confidently declare their irl status. but in vids they still refer to each other as best friends. like in the recent smosh games assassins creed video damien called shayne his best friend, if thatâs any consolation lmao
i do agree with their dynamic being different, and the way i see it thatâs result of them now growing differently as ppl. like before they practically grew into adulthood together. so you can see earlier on how they naturally had similar interests, humor, & stuff. but i think that these last few years theyâve been starting to truly find themselves individually. to me itâs very noticeable looking at videos from 2+ years ago to now and seeing how theyâve really changed. so as a result iâd think their dynamic and synergy would as well. and imo thatâs ok! even if they arenât as close, itâs ok for ppl to grow apart bc thatâs just life. i donât see it much as a bad thing. at the very least theyâve proven that theyâre still good friends, and i wouldnât worry much about anything đ€·đœââïž
Her hands paw at Aaravi's side, reaching for her dagger. Not in any particular way, actually, there is no subtlety to it, no attempt for her to disguise her intentions nor the gestures of her hands against Aaravi's side. There is not even a true attempt for Miranda to hide herself, to lurk behind Aaravi and remain unseen.
Miranda is curious. That's all, really, that and the fact that she has no sense of personal space to begin with, that she does not ask Aaravi if she would mind nor hesitate for a moment. She saw it, and she would like to see it closer. There are details to its make that piques her curiosity, that make her fins lift and curl at the ends, and she has the knowledge to back it up, experienced with sharp edges and metal implements and the butchering of flesh.
However, she still could have at least asked. With talons the size of hers, it would be warranted, and that's just if she was reaching for the blade of literally anyone other than Aaravi.
Aaravi should have been paying a bit more attention, to be honest. If she had, she probably would have noticed Miranda's approach within at least 25 feet of herself.
...However, she had clearly rolled her first wisdom save with disadvantage, seeing as how she was currently playing Pokemen on her Montendo Switcher, and, not seeming to notice the Merprincess. Sure, the version of Pokemen she had been playing had been out for over half a year, but, she had honestly been more busy with actual adventure stuff, until a recent lull, hence why she was playing it now.
She was busy with some sort of in game event, when all her Pokemen got knocked out. She sighed, and was putting her console away-
...And, that's when she noticed the Merprincess wanting to get a better look at her +2 Dagger, causing Aaravi to jump away about ten feet in the opposite direction of her..
"Hey! Just what the hell do you think you're doing, you-"
That was when she noticed that the monster she was facing looked familiar.
"Wait...You're Miranda, right?"
Yep, it was the Merprincess that was a part of Liam and Damien's inner circle.
Sighing, she moves back closer to her, pulls her Dagger out of its sheath, and starts to show it to the princess
"Honestly, I probably wouldn't have minded so much, if you had initially just asked. It's only a +2. Sure, its kind of nice looking, but, it doesn't even rank as one of my top weapons anymore."
Chapter Forty.
The assistant stumbled over to me and whispers in my ear. And I smile. Looking over to Damien who's face was visibly worried, he wore a dark navy blue button down shirt and black pants with the top buttons undone lightly exposing his nice clean smooth chest. He had his hair gelled back and it tucked into a nice big curl, giving him a look that reminded me of an actor. He is looking around and consoles kekayo and Charlie continues to assure everyone that it will all be okay.
That might I couldn't sleep. We had been here for only one day and all I could think of was the fight outside the temple. Damien could have been killed. So could charlie. It was all my fault that we were in such danger but somehow, in some way we had made it this far.
It would take a lot of training, but I knew I could this battle. I knew I could win this war.
The next day we met in the temple. We were instructed to train, eat and sleep when the monks did so. For at least half the day. Then and only then would the Omi otaku help us.
After the war, kekayo would stay, and the rest of us would have to take safety in the country side. I would have to choose by then who I loved.. It was a lot of decisions all at what felt like once but I didn't say anything, and I didn't complain.
I was just going to train and learn to control my power and learn to help put up a fight against the council of the dead.
I think I realized out of the four of us, kekayo and Damien where the strongest and me.and charlie were still learning. Charlie was persistent in learning how to control his demon rage. And I still had to learn how to summon, and cast if I was going to be any help.
The temple was forged by the three temple monks Ashak, Tannak, and Yurio in the late 1700's raising people from.the dead was outlawed and their magic consisted of necromancy and magic casting but they all decided to never sacrifice for the government rule and disappeared from their respected villages. No one thought they would have survived but they ended up creating a safe place for the natives that were on the land to the east and protected them if they left offerings at their individual shrines.
Tannak, soon took students under his wings and the natives greatly appreciated this and many wanted to learn how to fight and how to survive. After.leanringnhiw to fight from Tannak, and how to survive from Ashak, Yurio taught the natives grace and religion.
They soon became gods and upon their passing sixty to eighty years ago, they became well respected and the temple had not only tripled in size it was growing everyday. The empire of the undead gets its name from the warriors will to embrace the afterlife before death and live if through their entire lives.
But when their home villages began to grow jealous of them they became worried of betrayal despite constantly providing when needed long after Ashak, Tennak, and Yurio's death. The empire of the undead had to flee to the real of the after life only returning recently to the human realm, which indoctrinated all kinds of mystical creatures to the temple at the time.
Reflection:Â Get Connected
Thereâs hardly any restaurants, bars, or establishments that have no Wi-Fi connection. When customers enter, they ask first for the password, not the menu. The success of whatever projects you may have in todayâs world is judged by how connected you are. Otherwise, you will be left behind.
The Gospel speaks the same line of thought. It speaks of a connection that has neither a password nor a payment. It is to be connected to Jesus through the Eucharist.
St. Damien Joseph de Veuster, whose feast we celebrate today, was a priest who volunteered to be assigned in isolated islands with a lepers colony at Molokai. Designed to be disconnected from the world, he had to deal with a ministry that could be both discouraging and depressing.
Saint Damien experienced it while in prayer in a small makeshift chapel in front of the Eucharist. Describing to Jesus his struggles and the details of the day, he constantly maintained his relationship with God in prayer. Saint Damien said of the experience, âWithout the Blessed Sacrament, a position like mine would be intolerable.â
Jesus in the Gospel today assures us when we feel alone in such moments: âAbide in Me.â When we feel like we have no companion in our lifeâs project, Jesus consoles us, âApart from Me, you can do nothing.â
In his zeal and ministry with the lepers, Saint Damien eventually got contaminated with leprosy at the latter part of his life. He said, âI make myself a leper with the lepers to gain all to Jesus Christ.â
What an unwavering connection Saint Damien had with Jesus until his dying moment!
~Fr. Haluendo Amit, OCD
To whom do you connect to abide faithfully to Jesus?
I seek Your face in the people I serve, O Jesus! May they also see You in me. Amen.
Prayer
⊠for a deep and profound respect for life, especially for the unborn.
⊠for the strength and healing of the sick.
⊠for the healing and peace of all families.
Finally, we pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most.
GOD BLESS!
âOh my gosh, youâre right!â Now Ethanâs face lit from embarrassment, definitely already having written down Damienâs number into his phone. He was just so excited and really wanted to make sure he had a way to contact him now besides sitting out in front of his house like a weirdo. Nevertheless, the comforting familiar smells and sights of Alpha distracted him from the flustered feeling filling his stomach, looking around with a big ol smile before his eyes landed back on Damienâs. âStraight to your room is fine!â He wondered if that was very forward, maybe too forward? He didnât want it to be taken the wrong way and freak Damien out. âDo you have any consoles in there?â
I See You Come, I Watch You Go || Eef + Dam
Ethan has been sitting on this for awhile, but after finally talking himself through it and talking his anxieties down, he finally decided to reach out to Damien to hang out. Well⊠maybe not reach out, per sayâŠ. okay, so he didnât actually get the guyâs number after the BBQ Welcome party, but he did know where he was staying on Greek Row! He knew that he probably couldâve just messaged Rosie for his phone number, but he didnât want to freak the guy out either. So instead, he opted for waiting outside of the Alpha house in the Quad⊠cause that was so much better, right? Especially as he camped out in front of it and waited for him to come by so he could talk. That totally wasnât freaky and was totally normal!
