Tolerate It - Harry Potter (Part 1)
Request: Ohhh do i have a request for you!! Harry x reader one shot or a serie idk based on tolerate it by taylor swift. The drama, tears, fight, angst, but eventually cute and fluffy needy Harry🥰🥰
A/N: Sorry that I had to repost your request like this. Tumblr has been giving me problems. Also, I assumed you meant Harry potter but if you meant styles just let me know and I can write a new one. I hope this is good, and I will try to get part 2 out as soon as possible. Thank you for reading, and please don’t hesitate to request something!
P.S I know this part is really angsty but it will get better in the second part.
Tolerate It
His warmth was something you cherished. Yes, past tense. The last time you felt it was that horrid day. That was the day that everything changed. Sometimes you wonder if you were wrong all along. He held onto you so tight, you thought you might never breathe again. You haven’t felt that in months. The funerals have gone by, and tears were shed for your friends. You wondered if he felt guilty, or maybe even lost, but whenever he was with anyone else, he seemed fine. Hell, even when he was alone, he seemed perfectly fine. He wasn’t grieving anymore. The pain he felt had dulled, and you were left out in the cold.
He would write to his friends often, and you stood outside of the door. You would watch the quill delicately run across the page as he wrote about everything he was feeling. You didn’t have the same ability. All you had was Harry, and that was all you felt you needed. You were always by his side, and you worshipped the ground he walked on. Not because he was the “Chosen One” but because he was the love of your life. You used to be his. You still believed you were, but he had been distant.
Mornings in your house consisted of you waking up first. You would wait a while to get up so you could watch his face relax into the peace that you haven’t felt in too long. His body no longer wrapped around yours. You would fall asleep cold, and you would wake up with shivers. His comfort was no longer there. The only saving grace was his shirts that you managed to take away from him. He no longer placed them out for you, instead you needed to take them from the laundry. You would eventually get up and cook breakfast for two. Some mornings, he would come out on his own and sit down at the table, observing your movements. Other mornings, you would carefully walk back into your bedroom and wake him, telling him that breakfast is ready for him.
Then, the two of you would go to work, unless it was the weekend. Those days, you would try to organize some activities to do together, but he typically made plans with Ron. At night, you were typically home first, so you would start dinner, trying to have it on the table for his return. If he came home before you were done, he would go into the study to finish some ministry paperwork, or that’s what you told yourself. Your dinners would be quiet. You would sometimes ask him about his day, or his plans for the weekend. His replies were short. There was no need for him to disclose every detail of his day to you, but you would always wait for the return of the question. Once, you talked about your day, but he would just nod his head at your words as he ate. After dinner, he would return to the study, until he was ready to go to bed. Some nights, you would stand at the door watching him work, and you would eventually tell him of your plans to go to bed. Sometimes, he would offer you a glance and a nod, but those were few. For a while, you considered this to be the way that domestic life worked. You two no longer had to deal with the dark evil forces that taunted you in your school days. It wasn’t until one night at the Burrow that you learned about your mistakes.
You two were invited for dinner with the Weasley clan, as a way to just be together in a time of loss. You were excited to get out of the house and be with other people. It wasn’t often that you were with your friends. They were typically with Harry, but he made it painfully clear that you weren’t needed in their interactions. You always wrote if off as time away from you, which you could understand, but it still hurt to not see everyone as often as you used to. It was a part of growing up. That is what you told yourself on a daily basis. You love Harry, and he loved you.
When you arrived at the Burrow, you offered to help Molly with dinner. It was something that you had grown used to doing since living with Harry. A part of you enjoyed all of the cooking and cleaning, but you also wished there was an ounce of appreciation from the man you shared a bed with. She declined your offer politely, and you were almost nervous to return to the living room with the others. You couldn’t explain why, but something about the welcoming, warm atmosphere in the Burrow made you uncomfortable. When you walked in, you could see that Ginny was in deep conversation with Harry. Hermione and Ron were sitting as close as they could without Hermione using Ron as a chair. You walked over to Harry and sat down. You kept your head slightly down. You weren’t really listening to the conversations around you, but you did hear a few comments from Ginny.
“I can’t believe you had to do that! Harry that’s absolutely ridiculous. When I read that in your letter, I thought you had been drinking and made it all up. You’re a madman.” She seemed to know more about your boyfriend’s endeavors more than you did. His response, however, set off a few alarms in your head.
“C’mon, I would never drink and write a letter to you.” His playful tone made you curl up into yourself. Luckily, Molly announced that dinner was ready. Throughout the meal, you were quiet. You were trying to process the emotions that were bubbling up, but you didn’t even know what to think. All that time in his study was spent talking to another woman. Yes, they were briefly together at some point, but you never considered that he would ever want to leave you. You continued to remain as an observer for the night. Arthur and Molly were perfect. He would compliment her shamelessly throughout the night. He thanked her for dinner and offered to help her clean up, but Molly was stubborn and pushed him away, but not without a kiss. That was what you wanted with Harry. That was what you deserved, but here you are, just being there for him.
That night, you crawled into bed without him. You let the tears fall down, knowing that you needed to talk to him about your relationship. It pained you greatly, but you knew it had to be done.
The following morning, you made breakfast as per usual, but you didn’t eat with Harry. You left a note with his food saying you had an early appointment. He wouldn’t care, you thought. It was true though. Before you fell asleep the night before, you had made a call to an old friend who was in need of a roommate. When you told her that you think it may be over with Harry, she was very understanding, plus, she could use the money for rent, so she was ready to offer you the place right away. You spent the morning looking at the apartment and the room, which would be yours if things with Harry didn’t go well. She hugged you and wished you luck as you went to your job.
That night, you returned home and cooked dinner. You made sure everything looked as good as possible. The door opened, and in walked Harry. He looked around and caught sight of you at the kitchen counter nursing a glass of wine. He shed his coat and walked over to the dinner table. You didn’t sit down with him.
“Aren’t you coming to eat,” he questioned. Your hands were shaking.
“Tell me Harry. Have I wasted my time here with you?” His head snapped to you, slightly angry.
“Excuse me?” His accusing tone set something off in you.
“Everyday, I make you meals. I ask you about your day. I wait around for you. I try to get your attention. And every single day I am left on the outside. No gratitude, no conversation. I would be surprised if you even knew what I do for a living. Harry, you write letters to your ex with so much enthusiasm, and you leave me untouched. Do you know what it feels like to love someone so much that you are willing to suffer through this torture? The emotional turmoil? So tell me Harry, do you even love me anymore? Or have I wasted all this time on someone who just tolerates having me around?
He was silent for a moment, registering everything you said.
“What does Ginny have to do with any of this? I’m allowed to write letters to my friends. It’s not my fault that you’re jealous. I am here almost everyday. I occasionally go out with friends without you present. You’re just clingy.” You scoffed at his response.
“Merlin Harry! Do you even hear yourself? You can be so dimwitted sometimes. You treat me like I am your servant. I’m not an elf. I am your girlfriend. You told me you loved me, but clearly that was only temporary.”
“Don’t start with this ‘you don’t love me’ bullshit. If I didn’t we wouldn’t be living together. You can be so insufferable sometimes Y/N. I need time away from you, and all you want to do is be there with me. ‘Harry let’s do this. Harry let’s do that. Harry come eat. Harry, how was your day? Who were you with?’ I can’t deal with these questions all the time. Why do you think I spend so much time in my study? I need to be away from you and your neediness.” The tears started to set their path down your cheeks.
“Well, then. I guess that answers all of my questions.” You got up and grabbed your bag.
“Where the hell are you going? We had a fight. Get over it and eat with me.”
“You’re getting what you want. I’m leaving you alone, or rather I’m leaving you. I refuse to just be tolerated by someone who is supposed to love me.” You opened the door and looked back at him. “I’ll get my things another time.” With that, you walked out the door, leaving Harry to his own thoughts.

Pairing: Semi Eita/Reader
Warnings: Explicit, Mildly Dubious Consent, Face-Fucking, Scent Marking, Possessive Semi, Claiming, Mention of violence/gore, Alternate Universe, Fantasy AU, Wolf!Semi, Witch!Reader
Word Count: 9.1K
Summary: After Goshiki and Ushijima are thrown into an alternate universe after getting hit by a truck, they're thrown into a generation-old prophecy to defeat the Demon King that had been terrorizing the land. Joining the whirl-wind adventure, you face off the feared Wolf at a great disadvantage. Prepared to meet your fate in order to protect your team, you never anticipated him making a move on you and for it to end in you promising yourself to him.
Notes: Inspired by chapter 24 of Haikyuu-bu!! I started working on this in the middle of the 2nd installment to ‘Semi’s Blow Blow Up’ which I’m hoping to get out before the end of September. Also, I let Semi keep his ears and tail in this, please don’t send me to hell for that. Other than that, please enjoy!!
When Tsutomu and Ushijima ended up on top of a hill surrounded by acres of green rolling-hills, the younger honestly assumed the worst had happened. The bus had hit him and now he was dead in heaven. Of-course Ushijima would be there with him, he’s probably never made a misdeed in his life, meanwhile Tsutomu was slightly shocked he’d end up in heaven after spitefully cutting his older sister’s hair off when she teased his haircut when he was younger.
No, that can’t be right, he can't be in heaven. Everything felt too real. A breeze tousled his hair and he could smell the dirt under his scuffed runners. He couldn’t be dead, meaning that this place wasn’t heaven or purgatory, but someplace else. From the odd-looking trees sporting large purple leaves and expansive Elysian scenery, Tsutomu couldn’t shoot down the absurd idea that he was in an alternate dimension.
Patting himself down, he knew he was physically fine and felt his heart anxiously pounding away inside his chest. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught Ushijima standing tall, giving the area around them a surveying glance before his olive eyes landed on his shaky form.
“Goshiki, are you alright?” His deep timbre did calm his frayed nerves, it was hard not to trust his dependable senpai.
Nodding his head, Tsutomu responds with number one question of the day: “Ushijima-senpai, where are we?”
He tried to conceal the fear in his tone, but it would seem that he failed miserably as Ushijima places a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“That truck must have hit us quite a fair way away.” Ushijima states, looking nowhere near as panicked as one should in their situation.
Goshiki gives him bewildered look, gesturing to the land in front of them.
“You think we would be fine after getting hit by a truck?” Tsutomu didn’t try to hide his hysteria. “No matter what way you paint it, this place doesn’t look like anywhere in Miyagi!”
“But there’s Shirabu.” Ushijima points somewhere over Tsutomu’s shoulder.
Half scared that he’s going to turn around and it’s some eldritch terror standing behind him, he froze in place. Although Tsutomu knew Ushijima would never put him in danger, Ushijima had no sense of danger; case and point the ghost incident. Gathering his scattered courage, he turns around and is dumbfounded to find Shirabu indeed standing before him, albeit he was now dressed in unusual garments.
“Shirabu?” Tsutomu exclaims, half relived that at least someone with a brain not solely filled with volleyball would see the insanity of their situation.
“Shirabu? No, I am not a Shirabu, I am Elf.” Not-Shirabu responds while pulling his hood off to expose comically long ears. Tsutomu could feel his mind take a temporary holiday, leaving him half-cocked and not nearly prepared enough to deal with this shit.
“We’re in an actual alternate universe…”
A short trek later, Tsutomu found himself being hosted by Not-Shirabu, who was scarily similar to Shirabu - right down to his mannerisms. Tsutomu could’ve sworn that every time he asked a question about this world, Not-Shirabu fought down a grimace, but never failed to give him a short response. He was polite but was obvious about his distaste towards Tsutomu’s inherently curious nature.
“Shirabu, everyone will worry if we do not return to school soon.” Ushijima succinctly summarises their situation.
“It’s Elf,” Not-Shirabu says immediately. “You want to return to your world?”
At their nods, Not-Shirabu slumps in his chair with a hefty sigh.
“I’m afraid there’s an issue with that. I would love to get you back home, but an evil Demon King has taken over this land. I’m afraid to say that going home is out of the question.”
Tsutomu felt his heart sink at the words. They couldn’t return home? What were they going to do here for a living? They could farm, but Tsutomu is nowhere near well-read in that field compared to Ushijima. Even in this dire situation, Tsutomu was reluctant to admit defeat.
“A Demon King?” He queried, obviously fishing for information about this Demon King. Maybe there was a way to convince him to let them home?
“Yes.” Elf drily responded.
Tsutomu could feel his eye twitch at the Shirabu-like response. Even in an alternate universe, his senpai was a short and antagonistic towards Tsutomu.
Only when he was prompted by Ushijima’s nod, did he continue.
“He is a malicious being with the sole incentive is to spread misfortune across the land. It started with small mischievous deeds, such as cutting individual’s hair into odd styles.” Elf pauses here to raise a hand to his fringe and Tsutomu had to smother the laugh that could threaten his life. “Now he has moved onto terrorising villages and increasing tax prices to an unbelievable high.”
“That is no way to run a country.” Ushijima hums in disapproval.
Tsutomu clasped his hands over his head, already feeling a headache coming on. So we’re going to completely ignore that Shirabu’s weird ass fringe was the result of some Demon King that has apparently ravaged the land by hiking up tax prices? And why did this all sound like something Tendou-senpai would do? He felt latent hysteria rise to the surface again.
“I’m sorry that he got you too, Goshiki.” Elf says solemnly.
Head snapping up, Tsutomu felt outraged at the comment. He worked really hard for his fringe to be this straight. Tsutomu would swear up until his deathbed that bowl cuts were cool.
“Hey! My fringe is untouched by the Demon King. This was my choice!” Goshiki defended his hairstyle, patting at the dark strands, making sure there wasn’t any odd fly-aways.
“We can’t go home as long as the demon king reigns?” Ushijima interjects, effectively ending the argument before it started. Ushijima was all too used to being the only one to stop arguments between Goshiki and Shirabu, he knew all the warning signs.
“Yes.” Elf says with an apologetic look. “I’m very sorry. If only the summoning of the ‘Otherworldly Hero’ passed on from past generations had succeeded. They are the sole hope we have.”
A silence envelopes the room, heavy and suffocating.
Tsutomu knew that panicking would do nothing but waste valuable energy, but he couldn’t help but feel a little overwhelmed at the insane situation they found themselves in. A niggling thought heaped more anxiety onto him when it raises a good point. What if they were able to go home, what happens if time passes differently here? A day here may be twelve years back home. What would he do if he went back home and all his friends were old, his parents dead and –
Elf startles Tsutomu out of his downward spiral by suddenly jerking back with a gasp, wide eyes focused on Ushijima’s left hand holding a spoon laden with soup. The sudden motion had caused a cup to fall and clatter loudly against the stone flooring, which went widely ignored as Elf raises a trembling finger pointed at the stoic brunette.
“You’re using the spoon with your left hand. Are you –!” He cuts himself off as he rushes over to Ushijima’s side, not quite believing his own eyes. “The Otherworldly Hero!”
Tsutomu could not point out a time he’s ever heard so much emotion poured into Shirabu’s tone, he was almost swept up into Elf’s zeal before his logic kicked back in.
It was that easy?! Tsutomu internally screamed. This was just getting ridiculous at this point, honestly.
After a singular trial of pulling a sword out of stone and Tsutomu embarrassing himself and losing Elf’s respect, they found themselves starting a quest. The fanboy within him was super excited that he was going on an actual quest, exactly like the ones in his RPG campaigns.
“Remind me why we need this witch again?” Tsutomu questions, much to Elf’s evident annoyance.
“We need her to get through the Mystical Woods. It's prowled by one of the Demon King’s acolytes.” Elf slides his eyes to give Tsutomu a warning look, not wanting to answer anymore questions.
Gulping at the intimidating look, Tsutomu waved away the twenty billion other questions that came to mind as they made their way towards a tall stone tower. Tsutomu wonders what the witch would look like. Would she be someone they know, or someone completely new?
At this point in the trip, he silently begging any listening deities that she’s friendly. Ushijima and Shirabu have never been the best talking companions in his world and this trip has highlighted to Tsutomu how much he’d taken Yamagata’s and Reon’s friendly conversations for granted.
The tower ahead of them slowly grew in size until Tsutomu estimated it stood at least 5 stories tall. Following in Elf’s shadow, they pause a few feet away from the base. Looking at the structure, Tsutomu was quick to notice that there was no door present. Maybe they were on the wrong side of the tower?
He was just about to voice this before Elf cups his mouth and proceeds to yell up at one of the open windows.
“Hey Witch, come down! I found the Otherworldly Hero!” He shouts, uncaring at the ruckus he was making.
Tsutomu winces at the volume, shocked at how loud Elf could get. Absent mindedly, he wonders if the Shirabu in his dimension could get that loud too. Looking back up at the window, the youngest saw a head peak out.
“What?!” A familiar voice yells back down. The head disappears out of sight before any of them could respond.
No even a moment later, a dark door appears on the once-blank wall before them. Opening, the door reveals a figure that Tsutomu never thought he’d see. He should've expected it, this situation was crazy enough as it was.
Walking out of the dark room, you come to stand out in the sunlight, confirming your identity. Tsutomu blushed when he noted your attire. You looked exactly how you did before their run, minus the dark blue dress that hugged your curves and loose hair. Not wanting to draw unnecessary attention to himself, he subtly glances to the side to catch Ushijima’s reaction to your appearance.
With his usual neutral expression, he exclaims your name with no more vigour than any other time he’s said it. Tsutomu put too much faith into Ushijima, he should have expected the lack of a reaction as well.
You give Ushijima an odd expression, looking at Elf to explain what was going on.
“Manager-chan?” Goshiki interrupted. Elf shot him a nasty look at the interruption and ended up sighing whilst rubbing at the bridge of his nose.
“They've been calling me weird names all afternoon too. Just ignore the short Otherworlder.” Goshiki whines at his harsh words.
You pique an eyebrow at the bowl-cut boy. “So I look like someone you know from your world?”
“Yes,” Ushijima answered monotonously. “You look exactly like our team’s manager.”
You hum as you mull over his words. “Curious. So that would mean you're from a world that is directly parallel to ours, a completely different dimension with shared similarities.” Your tone picked in pace and excitement as you spoke, the end of your sentence becoming a smear to the males around you.
At their collective blank looks you made an odd hand gesture in the air. “Anyway… You found the Hero?” Giving Ushijima a curious look, you completely ignore Tsutomu’s existence.
It kind of hurt for one of his kindest senpai's to outright disregard his presence. Reminding himself of parallel universes, he had to actively tell himself that you weren’t technically you.
Wow, he really hated this alternative universe stuff.
“I’ve been told as such.” Ushijima supplies, not at all weirded out by you invading his personal space to prod at his biceps.
Turning on your heel, you make your way towards Elf and throw a casual arm around his shoulders. Not at all bothered by your antics, Elf stands there as you lean against him. Tsutomu knew in his world that you and Shirabu got along quite well, that must have translated into this universe as well.
“Why are you here instead of saving the lands now that you have the Hero at hand?” Your question is a legitimate one, one that Tsutomu would’ve asked if he wasn’t scared of Shirabu’s infamous back of the knee kicks. If Ushijima was supposedly strong enough to take on the Demon King, surely he'd be able to take on one simple lackey lurking in the woods they needed to cross.
“We’re here to recruit you. You’re the only one I know powerful enough to conceal us to get past the Demon King’s pet monsters.” He patiently explains.
“Aw and here I was thinking it was because you missed me. I missed you, y’know?” You teased. Truly, you did miss Elf and all the shenanigans the two of you would get into, but you would never pass up an opportunity to needle him.
Elf simply rolls his eyes at you and shrugs the arm off of his shoulder.
“I mean it. We need you to get through the Mystical Woods without being detected by Wolf.” You frown at Elf’s serious expression, the reality of the situation dawning upon you.
“You know I’m never going to turn down a quest with you, but his senses are ridiculously enhanced. It’ll take a lot out of me.” Running a hand through your hair, Tsutomu recognised it as your nervous tick. “I won’t be much help during the final battle.”
“Don’t worry about that. You can rely on me.” Ushijima simply states but the effect on you and Elf is immediate.
The Hero’s simple words eviscerated your reservations, the conviction in his tone was all you needed to hear. That paired with the large sacred sword still embedded in stone was all it took to convince you it wasn't a fool's mission.
Agreeing to join their party, you rush to grab your wand and some other resources to assist the party later on in the journey before setting off.
By the time you all stood before the ominous-looking trees of the Mystical Woods, the sun was starting to settle on the horizon, warning you that you had little to no time to make it through before night came along and the true battle began.
“Before we enter, I must tell you all that Wolf’s senses are second to none. He’ll hear a whisper, smell you an acre away, and could destroy you before you could blink.” Your warning only served to scare Goshiki. You rushed to complete your weak pep talk. “But, I’m here so it is very unlikely that he will catch us, much less even be in this neck of the woods.”
Your words did little to soothe the youngest, although he did put a brave face on. You had to stop yourself from cooing at how cute he looked with his chest puffed out and a serious expression adorning his young face.
“Hey, uh, what does this wolf look like? That way if we spot him we can seek some cover.” Goshiki suggests.
Impressed, you gave him an encouraging smile and ignored Elf snorting behind you.
“That’s a brilliant idea, good job Goshiki.” You praised, noticing the way his eyes lit up at it. “Wolf roams around in his human form as far as I’m aware of. He’s taller than Elf but shorter than Hero.”
Elf indignantly huffs at your comment, not all liking your unintentional poke at the sore topic.
“He has pale hair, it almost looks white sometimes. Oh, he also constantly has this really grumpy look on his face.” You continue to list off a series of characteristics that describes Semi to a tee. There was no doubt in Tsutomu’s and Ushijima’s mind about who Wolf was.
“That sounds like Semi.” Goshiki remarked once you finished.
Receiving blank looks from you and Elf, Tsutomu stumbled over his words as he tried to articulate his thoughts.
“Ah, well, the person you just described sounds exactly like my senpai back home called Semi.” Tsutomu let out a small chuckle as he’s hit with a funny nickname for his senpai.
“We’re going to avoid Semi-Wolf so that we can get to the castle, defeat the king and go home, right?” Tsutomu smoothly recovers.
You laugh at the odd nickname Goshiki coined.
“Semi-Wolf you say? I quite like that.” You raise your hand to cover your grin, very amused at how much the ever-serious Wolf would hate it.
Always forced to be the voice of reason, Elf clapped his hands to refocus everyone’s attention.
“We can’t lose focus now. Once we enter these trees we can’t afford to be found by Wolf, even with Witch and Hero on our side, it would be a tiresome battle if he spots us.” His grave tone quickly sobered up the party.
Taking a deep breath, you withdraw your wand, starting to draw out an intricate rune in the air. A familiar tingling sensation overtakes your body as magic begins to flow from the earth up into your fingers and into the wand.
Finishing the last line, a glowing circle with swirling line and sharp strokes stood before you. Fastening the members behind you with a heavy look, you offered them one last chance to back out.
“Are you all ready?”
All three nod back at you, already having steeled themselves whilst you prepared the rune. Turning back to the rune, you finished the casting and walked through it with the three males hot on your tracks. It evaporated as soon as you stepped through it, effectively masking your scents and dampening all sounds. Even Ushijima could sense the tangible weight of the magic casted over his body.
The woods were exactly as you remembered it from when you were a child and wasn’t claimed by the fearsome Wolf. The trees looked the same with rough and peeling bark, along with the ground looking as damp and spongy as the days you ran through it barefooted and free-spirited.
While you didn’t explicitly state that they couldn’t talk, you were secretly glad that they didn’t. It would’ve made your life much more difficult to funnel more energy into the rune to mask them, it was already bad enough that your couldn't completely conceal everyone. Your combined efforts of creeping between the threes on light feet was counteracted by Ushijima nicking every second tree with the sword's sharp blade, creating a trail of bark.
Eyes and ears stayed vigilant even as you noticed a landmark for the half-way point through the forest. You paused at the large outcropping of rocks resembling a sleeping lady and mouth at them that it you were half-way there. Elf and Goshiki looked relieved whilst Ushijima sported the same bland look.
You were tempted to suggest a short rest before continuing through the woods, where Semi-Wolf commonly prowled. The words died on your tongue as you noticed an abnormally thick fog rapidly approach your group. Not even a blink later and the fog had consumed all visibility below the waist.
You’ve spent your whole life surrounded by magic, you knew that this fog came from an unnatural origin. You had hoped that the fog would stay at that height but those were quickly dashed when you saw it slowly creep up your body. It wouldn’t be long before your entire vision was obscured.
This was not good, not good at all.
Whirling around, you went to grab at your team’s clothing to anchor them to you. As your hands cut throw empty air, your fear doubled. You doubted that they abandoned you, it was likely the doing of the magical woods. While you loved to experiment and witness all types of magic, always keen to expand your knowledge, the magic in these woods never failed to unnerve you even as a young child.
Not only was there a predator out here, the woods were also working against you.
Considering your options, you concluded that you were rapidly running out of choices.
Calling out their names was objectively a stupid choice, but it was the best thing you could do with breaking the fragile magic coating them. It was almost a form a self-sacrifice. If you drew enough attention to yourself, they would hopefully find their way to you - or at least something would.
A few tense moments go by, each call answered with dead silence. Not even the insects and birds dared to make a sound.
Casting a tracking spell was completely off the table. Not only was the fog thick enough that you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face, it would shatter the meagre concealing magic coating them. At least it was something to protect them, it was much better then leaving them completely defenceless.
“Shit.” You hissed. Worriedly, you eye the magical fog that was becoming more oppressive, feeling like a physical weight pressing down on you.
“I didn’t know good witches like yourself cursed. So unladylike.” A deep rumbling voice sounded right next to your ear. It was close enough to for warm breath to caress your cold skin. Your skin immediately breaks into goose bumps.
Freezing, your mind descends into chaos as it crowds with worrying thoughts. The most prominent one pointed out the fact that Wolf was able to get dangerously close to you without your notice, magical fog aside. There was no doubt about who he was, there was no other that claimed the woods like he has.
You whirl around, trying to find the voice’s owner, full well knowing of whom you were seeking out. Fear coiled inside of your gut, trying it’s hardest to paralyse your muscles and haze your mind over in fear at the thought of facing Wolf alone at a disadvantage.
“You speak as if you’re a gentleman yourself, Semi-Wolf. You don’t have much room to condone my language when you have the mouth of a foul-tempered troll.” You rebuked, falsifying the confidence in your tone. Showing an ounce of trepidation in front of him would be deadly.
Eyes frantically flitting about, attempting to catch a glimpse of a shadow or anything that would reveal his whereabouts. Your eyes were met with nothing but swirling white, not a single sign as to where he could be. This whole situation had you on edge.
He chuckles at your weak jab. The sound reverberated off of the trees and felt like it came from all around you, only serving to further confuse you about his whereabouts.
While every drop of mana was precious, you thought it prudent to at least being able to see your enemy. It should at least put you on equal footing with him. Flicking your wand, you cast a spell to temporarily filter out the fog around you, creating a clear bubble around you and the menacing man before you.
Even though he looked just as you had described to your otherworldly companions, viewing Wolf not even two meters away from one’s self was always a different experience. The first feature that caught your attention was his dark eyes, iris colour similar to richly stained wood, secondly was his elongated nails coming to a fatal point. Claws sharp enough to shear through flesh with ease were paired with pointed canines exposed by his predatory smile.
Your heart speeds up as you recognised how doomed you were, armed only with your wand, half of your mana and a pouch of useless herbs. The fluffy white dark-tipped ears sitting atop his head flick at the thundering sound of your palpable fear. Wolf's smile widened at that, tail swishing side-to-side in glee. This was going to be all too easy for him.
“Found you Semi-Wolf” Your white-knuckled grip around your wand belied your light tone.
“Don’t call me that.” He growls out, eyes narrowing at you. He was not impressed at your impertinence.
You would normally roll your eyes at the needless display of anger, but you couldn’t afford to take your eyes off of his intimidating figure slowly walking around you.
“What are you doing in my territory,” he continues. You knew he didn't care about your answer, it was more so to draw this out.
Fine, you’d bite.
“We’re on a quest, so please kindly don’t interfere.” He pauses to the left of you, now not even an arms-length away from you. Your body instinctively tenses at this, acutely aware that he could take you out faster than you could cast at this distance.
“I can’t let my reputation suffer just because you asked politely to cross through. There’s consequences to encroaching my land without permission.” His tone darkens at the end of his sentence, acting as if you personally offended him by doing so.
You knew he wouldn’t let you go so easily but a girl could always dream, right?
Lowering your centre of gravity, you subtly shift your body into a fighting stance and forcibly relax your wrist. A stiff wrist would hinder casting and it would frankly be embarrassing to be taken down so quickly, regardless of Wolf being the second toughest opponent controlled by the Demon King.
His keen eyes catch onto your slight movements and he moves in kind. It appears that you’re confident enough to take him on directly off the bat and not even attempt to run away. Whether this choice was misguided or made by underestimating him, Wolf was going to make you rued the day you thought you stood a chance against him.
Not wanting to wait for him to make the first move, you immediately cast a paralysing spell. The spell missed widely as he simultaneously lunged towards you at that very moment. This back and forth of casting and dodging goes on for a while and it wasn't long before you could physically feel your mana decrease and muscles grow tired. Maybe locking yourself in a tower for months on end didn’t have the best effect on your stamina.
Knowing you didn’t have a chance in hell against him while half-powered thanks to the prior masking spell, you could do nothing but futilely dodge him and cast the occasional fire ball his way. In the back of your mind, you spared a thought to the rest of the party and prayed to the deities that they were making their way out of the woods.
An exposed root caught your foot as you danced out of reach from a swipe of his deadly claws. Time seemed to slow down as your world tilted and the ground rose up to catch your body. Catching yourself on unsteady hands, you hiss as the rough ground scrapes your palms and knees enough to bleed.
Seizing the win, Wolf walks over to your stationary form, savouring the smell of your blood on the air. It smelt sweet, Wolf licked his lips and nudged you onto your back with his foot. He briefly wondered if you would taste just as sweet. You had put up a good fight and Wolf always loved a good challenge.
Semi-Wolf cages your body with his own, his large hands trapping yours above your head, with his legs pinning yours down. At this point, you had resigned yourself to your fate. You never really thought that you’d die like this, a hot guy murdering you was always a bonus you supposed.
Bringing his face towards yours, your breath falters when his lips floats above yours. Eyes wide, you noticed the hunger in his dark eyes, a hunger that you knew yourself all too intimately. Seeing his lips tilt into a dangerous smirk, your eyes lock onto them much to Wolf’s evident amusement. He uses the opportunity of your diverted attention to closely check you out, his eyes sweeping down your form.
He vastly appreciates the simple dark gown you wore. The dress exposed enough cleavage without becoming a disaster and had a leg slit that exposed a fair amount of soft-looking skin. Wetting his lips at the delicious sight you made underneath him, Wolf knows his evaluating looks were far from one sided, he could feel your gaze burn into his skin in kind.
Making eye contact with you, he decided he was going to indulge himself just this once. After weeks of dealing with Demon King’s shenanigans and then having to come back and patrol the woods with nothing in terms of companionship, he was admittedly lonely. He also harboured a lot of frustration and pent-up sexual desires and then there you were, waltzing on in with a form-fitting dress and smelling of ripened strawberries.
Wolf leans down and brings his mouth to your neck. All that filled your mind was the different but all equally as gruesome ideas of how he could kill you in this position. Him tearing out your throat was at the forefront of your mind.
Wolf licks a hot stripe up your throat, tasting your rabbit-like heartbeat. It was almost cute how much he scared you. He was almost tempted to assure you he can be gentle if he’s in the mood for it. From how you reacted to his each and every touch, he knew his self-restraint would truly be tested tonight. He did so love a sensitive lover.
“What are you going to do to me?” Your voice shakes and serves to further spur him on. Temptingly, he brushes his lips against yours, as light as a feather and no where near the pressure you now craved.
This close up you could see the flecks of near obsidian accentuating his mahogany brown irises that swirled with unspoken promises of what he was planning to do to you tonight. He doesn’t answer, choosing to stare instead.
“That doesn’t answer my question.” Pushing him probably wasn’t the smartest decision. Then again, you never would have gotten into adventuring if you had all your wits about you.
Again, silence meets your ears as he rolls his eyes at you in response, much to your shock. The action was unexpected, completely out of character for him, judging from the gossip you’ve overheard from the townspeople.
“I’ve got a much better use for that cute little mouth of yours then asking pointless questions.” He purrs into your ear.
You very nearly swallowed your tongue, eyes wide in disbelief. Your mind was still spinning at the sudden turn the night has taken. You were ready to fight for your life, not get pinned down and get propositioned. His actions spoke leagues, he didn’t leave any room for misinterpretation of what he desired from you. As much as that thought should’ve scared you, a thrill of anticipation sparked down your spine.
Noticing your receptiveness, Wolf planned to test how far he could push you before you pulled back. Testing the waters, he bridges the short gap between your mouths and kisses you. To his amusement, you froze for half a breath before reciprocating, soft lips moving skillfully against his.
Deepening the kiss, he doesn’t wait for permission to lick into your mouth, earning him a gasp. You never really spared any thought to him before this day other than reluctant acknowledgement of his strength, that even armed with an arsenal of spells you’d still struggle to defeat him. Never in a hundred years would you think that he was a good kisser and yet here he was doing his best to thoroughly prove you wrong.
Warmth spread through your body as you tried to pay him in kind, but he was intent on dominating the kiss in every way. Your mind wondered over the thought of him dominating you in another way and your heart gave a concerning lurch inside our chest.
Semi-Wolf ends up breaking the kiss to chuckle down at you after a moan escaped. Embarrassed flush tinging your cheeks pink, you use the break to catch the breath he stole from your lungs.
“That doesn’t answer my question, Semi-Wolf.” You whisper against his lips.
“How much more direct do I have to be with you, little witch? Do you want me to say that I want to fuck that cheeky mouth of yours until you cry?” Heart palpitating, your eyes zero in on him wetting his lips, wondering what else his tongue could do. “Or maybe that I’m horny enough to fuck you regardless of your incessant questioning.”
This time you shiver at the way his deep voice seemed elicit lust to cloud your mind. Horny yourself from countless days of self-imposed isolation in your pursuit of knowledge after your last disastrous quest with Elf, you weren’t exactly in the right mind-frame to deny him.
At the same time though, who said you would make it easy for him?
“Even the big bad Wolf gets lonely guarding the creepy woods.” You goad him, eager to get a rise from him.
Rising to the obvious bait, his grip tighten around your wrists enough to hurt. Meeting his scowl with a jovial expression, you inwardly crowed at how easy it was to rile him up.
“You’d be so much cuter if you didn’t open your mouth. Don’t worry, I’ll fix that for you.” He promises darkly. His thumb presses into your bottom lip and urges you to open your mouth.
You do deny yourself the desire to bite down on his thumb, not wanting to truly make him mad. You just wanted him mad enough to take you without holding back.
Releasing your other wrist, he makes quick work of undoing his pants. Enjoying the view, your tongue licked his thumb, drawing his attention for all of a second before he presses his thumb on top of your tongue. You whine around the intrusion, earning an unimpressed look from him as he reveals his sizable length.
He nearly laughs when he hear you audibly gulp as he shucks down his pants one-handed. His slowly filling dick swelled even more at your groan from just witnessing his length. Even at half-mast he was long and girthy enough for you to wonder if he was going to fit in you.
Not liking the way your attention drifted inwards, Wolf gripped himself and gave a few tugs. To both your fascination and horror, you watched as his cock was stroked into full hardness. At this, you swore to yourself to make it fit, no matter what. There was no way you were going to pass up this once in a life-time opportunity.
Wolf considers the position you were both in and decided that it wouldn’t do. Releasing his cock and removing his thumb from your mouth, he grabs you by the shoulders and forcibly moves you into a new position. You relished the way he manhandled you, you elect to make it easy on him and be pliable for him.
Pushing a hand through his wild hair, he looks over at your new placement. Dress strewn around your legs, the side slit now exposing an indecent amount of flesh as you laid out beside him. Once again grasping your shoulder, he moves your upper body to lean over his spread legs, bringing your face towards his rigid length.
You didn’t fight him as he brought your mouth towards his cock, nor did you wait for permission to start. Wrapping your mouth around the leaking tip, you gave a slight suck before trying to take more of him in all while swirling your tongue around him. His hand moves up into your hair as you slowly make your way down his shaft, cute little mouth already stretched wide.
About half-way down your jaw was starting to get sore from how wide you had to keep your mouth from grazing your teeth harshly against him. You weren’t ready to admit defeat yet, you still hadn’t even taken him fully yet. Throwing caution to the wind, you decide to take the rest of his cock in all the way, sore throat be damned. You gagged at the feeling of him being shoved down your throat, mouth impossibly full as his hips jolt up and keep himself in as you started to pull back.
A loud groan rumbles through the air, rewarding your efforts. His fingers tighten in your hair, locking your head in place. You fight against his grip and win, coming up with a gasp and a thick strand of saliva connecting your lips to his tip. Giving him a withering glare, you lick up his shaft once, twice, before engulfing him yet again. This was for your benefit, hearing him growl as you sucked him off was just a benefit.
He watched on with delight as you forced yourself to choke on his cock, evidently he was too large for you to handle. Not wanting you to do all the work, he started to slowly roll his hips up and took control of your pace by moving you up and down his member by his grip on your hair.
Unable to take back control, you could do nothing but to let him guide you as he fucks into your mouth. This turned you on incredibly, feeling yourself become wet as he pants and groans into the still air. Distantly, you could hear his tail thump against the ground.
While fucking your willing mouth, he’s struck with a brilliant idea. Wrapping a hand around your throat, he’s now able to feel himself being deepthroated. A rush of blood left him light-headed, absolutely loving the fact that he can feel himself when he shoves his cock even further down your throat, not caring that at how you dug your nails into his hips. Your whines about him taking over only served to arouse him further, feeling the vibrations travel along his length.
He feels himself come close as you swallow around him, tongue rubbing sinuously against all the right spots. He knew it wouldn’t be long before he peaked. While he did have a fast recovery time, he didn’t want to waste a moment of not being buried inside of you. Already the smell your arousal perfumed the air, causing his dick to jump in your mouth at the sudden influx of blood rushing southward. The need to be inside of you trumped the joy he felt from you sucking him off.
Tearing you off of his dick with a slick'pop', you were completely blindsided as he throws you against the ground. His hand grasped your thigh, drawing it up as his other shears the thin fabric of your dress off. Now sitting above mid-thigh, you silently despaired about the destruction of your favourite dress. Uncaring, Wolf impatiently batted the rest of the flowy fabric out of his way, not sparing you a second look at you as he shreds your panties and runs a knuckle down your wet folds.
“I’ve barely touched you and yet you’re this wet,” he muses.
Careful of his nails, he gathers up your liquid arousal on his finger and brings it up to his mouth, tasting you. You clench down on nothing as he closes his eyes to savour your taste with a moan. If he drew this out any longer, you were going to have a spontaneous heart attack.
Squirming under him, you made impatient sound. It didn’t go ignored, grinning down at you, he brings bringing his finger back down to teasingly caress your folds, touches much too light for your taste.
“Aren’t you an impatient little thing,” Semi-Wolf drawled as brushes a knuckle against your hole, pausing over it and slightly dipping in.
A frustrate groan left your lips, tilting your hips up to chase his teasing strokes.
“Please.” You begged as he started again with the feather-light strokes.
Normally you would rather retch than beg for cock, However there was always an exception. That exception being Semi-Wolf's cock. It appeared to be the correct thing to do as his eyes flashed with something sinful, a wild look on his face.
“Since you asked so nicely…” He moves down your body, coming to a stop at the apex of your thighs.
Face so close to your core, his mouth started salivating from how good you smelt. Blowing onto your pussy, he elicits a cute squeal and ended up having to pin your legs down to keep you from kneeing him in the head.
He delivers a long lick between your wet folds and swallows your taste as he prods at your entrance. Judging he had enough fun, he delved straight in. Clawing at the soft ground under you, your chest heaved as his tongue thrus in, swirled around, rubbed against your walls and pulled out. It wasn't long before he had you incoherently begging for something, anything, yet he continued in this fashion until he had your hands tugging at his hair, careful of his furry ears, and writhing on his tongue.
Eating you out like a man starved, he didn’t stop until he felt your thighs tense around his head, signalling how close he brought you with just his tongue. He’d like to think that he wasn’t a cruel man but the nasty look you gave when he pulled away had him second guessing himself.
You were more than ready at this point. Ready to start cursing at him if he didn’t fuck you right now, you opened you mouth for him beat you to the chase. Heaving himself upwards, he presses his chest against yours, inadvertently bringing his hips close enough for his dick to slap against your drenched folds.
Gripping himself, he wordlessly slicks up his length by rubbing it through your juices. Lining up with you entrance, he barely presses in and your hands fly up to dig into his arms. Not minding the bite of pain, Wolf didn’t stop you from digging in your nails as he slowly slid in.
Reminding yourself to breath, you took shallow breaths and forcibly relaxed your muscles to help take him in, ignoring the sharp sting of pain that paired with his girth.
Shoving his engorged cock into your wet hole, he didn’t hesitate to slide down to the root regardless of how tight you were. Tears rise to your eyes unbidden as he pushes his way into you, feeling like his cock alone could split you in half. Muttering a half-assed incantation under your breath, you banished the edge of pain away, unmasking the pleasure at being so completely filled.
His thick cock that filled every space inside of you so well, that you started to believe he was made for you. The same thought went through his mind as he begins to mindlessly pound away into you, loving the way your wet hole takes him so well and tightens perfectly around him every time.
The angle he pummelled into at had you seeing stars. You raise your hips to meet his a few times before he grabs the back of your right knee with one hand, pinning your leg up against your chest. A wrecked moan rattles you as the pose opens you up more, changing the angle and allowing him to hit even deeper inside of you, now experiencing fireworks.
“You like that, huh?” He growls roughly.
You couldn’t spare the breath to answer him back with him fucking the life out of you, instead you nodded helplessly.
A pleased noise rumbled through his chest. You were such a supple little thing, taking every inch of him like you needed it, no matter the pain it initially caused you. Such things stroked his ego, paired with the wrecked expression on your face and the fluttering of your walls around his cock, he was intrigued by you. Being impressed and interested in someone with his possessive nature was never a good combination, and he couldn’t stop himself from becoming enamoured with you while fucking you into the ground.
He litters your neck and chest with kisses, bruises, and bites that you knew would take a while to heal and vanish. The bastard was infamously territorial, you should’ve known that it would also translate into sex as well. Having half the mind to slap him for marking up, you couldn’t deny the way your heart leaped and pussy clenched around him with every rough suck he delivered to your soft skin.
He couldn’t let you go now he’s had a taste of you. He knew you would be perfect in tempering him, weathering his moods and give yourself fully to him like were right now. You already proved yourself worthy by not backing down or running away. Pupils blown wide, possessive thoughts consume his mind, devising different ways he could make you his. From the way you thrashed under him, shaky moans joining the symphony of your bodies colliding together, he conjured a way he could make you his.
Feeling him pull out was nothing of concern to your bliss-filled mind. It was when he didn’t slide back in that raised alarm. Opening your eyes, you blinked away tears from your sight to make out his proud-looking expression. Whining, you raise your hips up to force his tip to slide in further. Semi-Wolf denies you this by pulling his hips back further, removing his cock all together.
“Do you want me to continue fucking your greedy hole?” He says, eyes piercing through your soul.
Showing your frustration, you glare up at him and dig your nails into his arm, making him wince at the strong grip.
“Yes.” You hissed through clenched teeth.
He considers your answer for a short moment before moving his dick again. This time though, he merely sits it between your slick folds and rolls his hips. The position was perfect for his cock to graze against your clit, a moan slipped out before you could suppress it.
“What would you do for it?” He questions, rolling his hips again, putting more force behind it this time.
Eyes rolling into the back of your head, the constant stream of stimuli from him rubbing against your sensitive bundle was overwhelming. Seeing that you weren’t listening to him, he stopped his motions and watched as frustrated tears gather in your eyes as he ripped away your building orgasm.
“I said, what will you do for it?” He leans down to your ear, teeth gently tugging at your earlobe.
Existence now solely staked on you reaching your peak, the words rushed out of you without a second thought.
“Anything.”
He smiles at that, a shudder going through your body at the beautiful sight. He flashes his canines at you, happy that you wouldn’t need any convincing.
“I was hoping you would say that.” He presses your mouths together in a relatively chaste kiss. Confused, you kissed him back with vigour and chased his lips when he drew back. “How about becoming mine?”
A flash of heat sears through your body at his question. Mind going in a hundred different directions, it gets thrown around into different scenarios. First you were making out, fucking and now he was asking you to be his? You literally just met the guy. While yes sex with him so far has been immaculate, you couldn’t just swear yourself to him at the drop of hat.
All these thoughts should’ve been enough to deter you, to encourage you to finish yourself off and walk away. Instead, the horny part of you overrode all common sense. A strong, attractive partner by your side with a drool-worthy dick? You didn't need anything more.
Hands cupping his cheeks, you graze your thumb over his bottom lip and pull him closer.
“Yes. Now fuck me before I finish myself off.” His eyes flash at your threat, promising you hell for that.
Sealing your fate, you fasten your mouth over his and slip your tongue into his mouth as he grabs himself and lines up with your entrance and thrusts back in like he never stopped.
Pace faster than before, you arched you back as his cock presses into you, feeling impossibly deep. Unforgiving now in his thrusts, he didn’t hesitate to make himself a place inside of you, needing you to feel him even when he was finished.
It felt like your veins were filled with molten magma as he repeatedly hit all your sweet spots without even trying. All of your arousal and pleasure amassed into a tightly coiled ball that sat low in your gut and grew with every growl and thrust he gave. This time you protected it with all your might, you’d most definitely curse him if he pulled the same stunt twice.
Wolf buried his head into the crook of your neck, panting into your skin as he pistons himself in and out of you, chasing his own orgasm to no end in sight. Scraping his canines along the column of your throat, you shudder around his cock and tantalisingly squeeze him. Rewarding how sensitive you were, he attaches his mouth to you and buries his fangs into your flesh.
It felt like a supernova went off of inside of you the very moment his teeth pierced your flesh, flinging your head back fast enough that you almost knock yourself out as Wolf fucks you through the most intense orgasm of your life.
His hips don’t falter their pistoning as you tighten up immensely, feeling like a second skin from the way you gripped at him. Blood filling his mouth, he greedily swallowed every drop of the sweet substance, not at all surprised that it tasted just as sweet as the strawberries you smelt like.
With one last thrust, he pulls out and gives himself three rough tugs before he finally spilled all over your thighs. He very nearly purrs at how he solidified his claim over you, his scent seeping into your skin strong enough for any non-human person with a decent nose would know exactly who you belonged to.
“Will you grant us passage through your woods now?” You asked, sarcastic words shattering the silent atmosphere that enveloped your bodies as you both recovered.
“Maybe. Depends what you’re scheming.” He glances over at you from the corner of his eye, not bothering to turn over.
“We’re going to take down the Demon King.” Semi-Wolf chokes on mid-air and whirls around to face you, propping himself up on his elbow.
“Are you serious? If you had started with that, I would’ve walked you guys through and joined the fight.” You bite your tongue to stop yourself from laughing. This whole time Semi-Wolf wasn’t the dangerous servant of evil you had him pegged for, instead he was begrudgingly guarding these woods. He must being doing it for something, albeit you didn't know what for.
“What did he do to warrant your anger at him.” You were blatantly curious. It wasn’t often that you were wrong in how you perceived someone, plus it was interesting to catch a glimpse into the life of someone who was close to the maleficent Demon King.
“He said my wardrobe was hideous.” Wolf grumbles under his breath.
“I’m sorry, what? I couldn’t hear you.” You grin at him while cupping your ear and leaning in close. You had heard him perfectly fine, it was just fun to see this side of him.
Teasing him was much too fun, you were already getting comfortable around him. Who could’ve guessed he would be all soft on the inside? Elf was going to get a kick out hearing that. Whether he’ll believe you or not is entirely another story.
Annoyed, Wolf bats you away as you laughed at the pick blush betraying his stern look.
“Doesn’t matter. There’s no way you could lose with me helping.” A different, more gentle sort of warmth fills you at his claim, no matter how self-assured it may come across to some.
No longer wishing to antagonise him further, you simply hum in response. Not giving it a second thought, you slip your hand into his.
“Ignoring the fact that you destroyed my favourite dress,” Wolf had the common decency to look ashamed, withering under your harsh glare. “Were you serious when you asked –”
“Yes, I was serious.” He cuts you off. A nervous look replaces his serious one, scratching at the back of his head as he contemplated his next words. “Look, it wasn’t a smart move to do that to you in the middle of… yeah. I don’t know what came over me, but I couldn’t stomach the thought of you being someone else's. It's weird how connected I felt with you in that moment."
Looking away from the tree he was studying to avoid your gaze he was met with your stunned face painted a soft pink.
“You’re an idiot.” You say bluntly. Okay, he was definitely not the big monster you were led to believe. You almost felt like a fool for being so scared of him at the start.
“Hey!” He indignantly shouts, squeezing your hand as punishment for your insult.
“I’m joking, I swear it. It was a dick move but I forgive you.” Suddenly feeling shy, you look away from his intense eyes, not liking the way it felt like he could read your very soul. If Elf were here he’d probably scoff at you being demure after -
“Crap, my party! They probably think I’m dead.” You hurriedly get up and brush off the debris from your now short dress. A slight breeze picked up, causing you to shiver at the weird sensation of it caressing your bare legs and reminding you of the cum drying uncomfortably on your skin.
Ripping a piece of your sleeve off, you make quick work of cleaning yourself off as Wolf tugs on his pants. Seeing the way he eyes your legs, you narrow your eyes at him, shaking your head when he feigns an innocent look.
Giving the small glade one last look over, you both set off into the now clear woods. It took what seemed like a short eternity before you broke the tree line of the other side. On the other side, you find a pacing Goshiki, a bored-looking Elf and a peacefully dozing Ushijima.
Looking over at your sudden appearance, it took one sweep of Elf’s perceptive eyes to know what exactly had went down during your disappearance. You blush as he raises an unimpressed brow at you, ignoring Semi-Wolf’s presence by your side out of pure spite.
It took a bit to convince them that he was here to help and help he did. Armed with the scarily one-minded Hero and one pissed of Semi-Wolf, the crimson-haired Demon King didn’t stand a chance against them.

Flight if Destiny: Prologue
(An Ever After High fic, set in an au where the evil queen decides to be a good mom. Cowritten with @offwiththeirbuds )
It was over. Finally. Robin Queen leaned against the back alley wall. Her enemy, Snow White had decided to try and do more than banish her after awakening. She tried to have Robin arrested and tossed in prison. Thankfully Robin hadn't done anything outside the realm of their story, so there was no way to arrest her. But Robin was furious.
How dare she? Robin only did what was expected and for what? An empty, temporary marriage and a lonely future.
She could get revenge. Get power and fame on her own and a kingdom to show up that brat Snow White!
Robin sneered, that could work! She could strike Wonderland first, it was disconnected enough from the rest of the world, no one would notice until it was too late. Or maybe she could-
Robin heaved, emptying her stomach contents on the concrete. She had gotten too excited.
"Crap. Crap. What am I thinking?" Robin hissed, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand while the other gently held her baby bump.
It was a small bump, barely showing, but it was a grounding reminder for Robin. It was so easy to lose herself to the role of Evil Queen and far safer than facing the future after her story. She felt so alone without the story now. All of her friends were just starting their stories while Robin had to start hers immediately out of High school. She was only 27.
Narrators beyond, she was 27 and expecting! And she had considered world domination? What was she thinking???
She hadn't been. In that moment Robin had been scared and alone so she turned to the safety of her role. But… what safety was there in evil? Embracing it would mean she could be truly imprisoned.
"Funny, how you reminded me I wasn't alone, and you don't even have a heart beat yet." Robin muttered to her belly. She had to be better. Better than Snow who wanted her dead or tortured, better than her mother who left her alone too young. Too focused on the Evil part of the Evil Queen.
Robin vowed to be better. A Better Mother and Better Person. Robin stamped her foot, eyes narrowing with determination.
"For you my Baby bird. For you I will face the world. I will be the best Mother for you…" Robin said pulling out a small slip of paper and racing to a nearby pay phone.
The small paper had a short list of numbers. Friends from school. The top of the list was Nana Breadhouse, she may be the Gingerbread House Witch, and specialized in candy houses, but Nana also had some connections.
The phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Nana. Its… its Robin."
"Robin?! Are you ok? I heard Snow's speech. Did she?!"
"She tried to arrest me but it didn't work. Nana I need a house Im… Nana I have a kid on the way. I wanted to- I…" Robin felt tears fall. "I almost became my Mom…"
"Oh SweetPlum. Where are you? Ill come get you. We can talk after." Nana said. Robin couldn't help but smile, Nana was the kindest woman.
"I'm in Bookend outside the Library. Ill wait here." Robin said. Her hand never left her little bump, she had to fight the urge to conquer and the little lump was helping.
"I'll be there faster than you can say Taffy, hang on love." Then Robin waited.
It only took ten minutes for Nana to arrive, her Bubblegum punk hair made her easy to see in the rainy gloom. Nana's Broomstick landed and the plump woman raced over embracing the soaked Robin tightly. Robin held her friend dearly.
"Oh Honey Tea, come on. Let's get you home and dry. You can tell me what your plan is after we got some food in you."
"You're the Fairest Nana." Robin hiccuped. Her tears hadn't stopped the entire time.
"Tell me that after you're dry and warm. Come on." Nana said, pulling Robin onto her broom. Robin leaned into Nana's back as they flew a comfortable silence filling the night air as they escaped the rain clouds and finally reached Nana's home.
Nana silently ushered Robin inside. Trapper the huntsman was seated by the fire, rocking Nana's 1 year old Ginger. The gruff man looked concerned as Robin was sat down by the fire.
Trapper gently placed the sleeping Ginger back in her crib and began to sign as Nana raced around.
"Are you ok? You look awful." He signed, Robin nodded weakly, shivering in her soaked clothes.
"Im… shaken. But ok, thank you Trap." Robin said, Trapper gave a soft smile and nodded. Only to sign some rather vicious things about their classmate Snow White. Robin shook her head. "Trap its… im not fighting back. I cant. I have a child on the way. I- I refuse to be my mother. Or worse."
"You don't have to do anything. But I could get Arthur and-" Trapper started signing only for Nana to bustle between the two and give Trapper a glare.
"No. You are not storming the castle Trapper. If you try You get no Daughter time for a month!" Nana scolded in a whisper. Trapper shook his head but signed in agreement.
"You both adore Ginger so much. I hope I'm as good to my baby Bird…" Robin muttered. Nana Gently pat Robin's hand.
"You will be darling. Trapper and I have our system. I'm not denying him his ability to be in his daughter's life. And you did the right thing walking away today." Nana said. "Now I have some clothes you can use, tomorrow we can get your stuff back- Robin? Sweet Plum whats-?"
"She burned my stuff." Robin muttered, tears falling anew as she hugged herself tightly. "Snow… She. She did more than try and arrest me. She destroyed all my things. I just did my part! I just did what they expected of me…"
Nana's eyes lit aflame, fury rolling off her like an oven.
"That, that, That witch! Disgusting. I knew Snow was Twisted but this? And she calls herself a Royal." Nana turned back to Robin, eyes softening. "We will get you new clothes and goods tomorrow. I have an extra plot of land nearby you can live on. We can design it tomorrow as well."
"Doctors appointments." Trapper signed. "We can come with you too."
"You guys are too good to me. How can I repay you?" Robin asked sniffling.
"How about you babysit some days for us? We can always use an extra hand with Ginger and it will be good practice." Nana offered.
"Deal."
The next day was strange. Replacing her missing clothes had been easy. Robin knew she needed maternity clothes and she wanted to move away from her old doom and gloom vibe. She wanted to be comfortable and to distance herself from the role of the Evil Queen.
Then she saw someone she never expected to see.
"Robin?"
"Arthur?!" Robin had turned to see her best friend. "Look at you! Your beard came in!"
Arthur laughed, rubbing his blonde hair.
"Yeah and I finally lost the tit scars too. What are you doing this close to Camalot?" He asked. The two walked down the various aisles grabbing what they needed.
"Oh well. I finished my story and I wanted a fresh start for me and the Baby Bird." Robin explained, Arthur sputtered.
"You're a Mom?!"
"Not yet. I'm expecting. I'm only about a month along." Robin explained giggling as Arthur started blushing. He loved kids, but never really did well with the idea of pregnancy.
"Oh wow! Uh well congrats!" Arthur said. "Uhm… you live nearby? If you do I'm sure Merlin and Giles wouldn't mind if you dropped by. Giles was really worried when news broke that your story started so early."
"That's sweet. I would love to visit. How are your Boys doing?" Robin asked.
"Oh well… they are doing well. Milkshake is still a jackass to Giles about our relationship. But well… I'm going to propose soon. " Robin gasped.
"Really?! Oh Arty that's wonderful!"
"Actually I was going to see if Nana knew where you were. I need your help to make it memorable." Arthur said, Robin smiled.
"Of course! You're my Best Friend Forever After. What were you thinking?" Robin asked. Arthur smiled and the two discussed proposal plans.
The next few months were a flurry of building, Reconnecting with friends and doctors. Robin had no time to stop and consider the ever disapearing urge to conquer the world. Instead it was replaced with eagerness to meet her future daughter.
Robin got to visit Arthur, Merlin and Giles again. Her life was filling up with friends again and she felt lighter than ever.
Then the sonogram appointment. As she had set it up her doctor had warned her, they would not allow anyone other than the father in with her. Robin was terrified.
"Birdy whatchya doing so down?" Merlin practically chirped as he picked her up to go for the Sonogram. Robin sighed sitting beside the mage and watching the countryside roll away.
"My doc warned me they won't let anyone but the father in with me…" Robin muttered. Merlin clicked their tongue
"Ain't old Good King in a Nursery Home, senile out of his mind? And-" Merlin paused. The Mage was an empath and didn't need any other powers to know why Robin sank into depression when the old king was mentioned. Merlin nodded silently.
"Fine. I'm the Dad now." Robin jolted up, turning to Merlin.
"What?! Do you honestly think they'll believe that?" Robin asked. Merlin smirked, tossing his scarf to the side.
"They don't have too. They aren't getting rid of me. Though I'm calling back up." Merlin cooed, casting a minor sending spell before Robin could stop him.
"Who'd you call?" Robin asked.
"The rest of the fathers!" Merlin said happily. He didn't say anymore until they arrived at the office and the two enter the waiting room. Robin was stressed, clutching her bulging stomach as Merlin went to check her in. She stood near the door, when-
"They let any old rabble in here don't they?" Robin tensed as the sniveling tones of Snow white met her ears. Robin turned. The new Queen was with her Prince, Fabian Charming and obviously expecting as well.
"Snow." Robin hissed.
"Queen. What are you doing here? I told them, not to accept your ilk." Snow sneered. "Or did you break in? I can arrest you for trespassing. Better yet I should have the guards toss you out. Maybe you'll get the mess- AIYYYYYYYYYY!"
Snow shrieked as her dress suddenly burst into Merlin's iconic Pink flames. Merlin sauntered up and slung an arm around Robin. She didn't realize she had been hyperventilating until then.
Fabian put out his wife and glared at the smirking Merlin.
"Oops, sorry I still miss fire when I get stressed ya know? And our girl is expecting our little bird, of course Im stressed." Merlin purred.
"Our?" Fabian muttered.
"Yes. Ours. Move Fabian." The Charming swung around to find Giles, Arthur and Trapper in the doorway. Arthur looked slightly mortified and Trapper looked ready for a fight. But it made Robin feel safer.
"What is the meaning of this?" Snow hissed, shaking off the ashes of the fire. "I know none of you are the father!"
"No we all are. Because we were asked to be." Giles said calmly as Arthur pushed over to Robin and held her close.
"No you weren't. Merlin decided." Robin muttered to Arthur who snorted.
"You didn't say no." Arthur retaliated earning a laugh from Robin as Snow tsked.
"What ever. Just Leave, I have an appointment here!"
"So do we." Merlin said as a nurse came up, nervously fiddling with her clipboard.
"Uhm, Ms. Queen? We are ready for you and uh… your child's fathers?" She seemed to ask if the four men were with her despite knowing the anwser. Snow went slack Jared as Robin left, surrounded by her friends.
The panic the run in caused vanished when she saw her daughter the first time. She cried so hard, her baby Bird was healthy and growing. And Robin forgot all about Snow White.
Then her new home had been built not 2 miles from Nana's own home. Robin could easily visit and watch Ginger, who was growing so fast.
Robin helped Arthur propose to his boyfriends. Merlin may have been a powerful mage. But Robin was the trickiest witch alive. She was able to make the moment Magical without Merlin catching on.
And of course they said yes. The three looked radiant at their wedding. Merlin opting for a ballgown as he preferred and Giles and Arthur for a suit and armor respectively. And Robin was Arthur's Best Witch.
Then suddenly Robin was giving birth, post ceremony. Nine months had gone by so fast. And before she knew it, Robin was holding her daughter in her Best Witch suit. She was so small and pale with a little silky tuft of black and Purple hair.
Raven Queen entered the world in Summer. Greeted by her mother and her friends.

Title: I Knew You Were Trouble Pairing: James Barnes x Tony Stark Rating: Teen Audiences Other Tag: Alternate Universe - Fantasy, Witch!Tony
**
some people are so deep. you fall into them and you never stop falling.
**
The sky is grim and it promises a harsh winter night. The breeze begins to blow a little harder, the temperature dropping by the minute. Bucky pulls his gloves higher, trying to cover as much as he can from the cold. He fastens his pace because he must return to the village before nightfall. He can’t leave Steve, his best friend, alone to fend for himself, especially now that the poor lad’s sick again. Winters have always been a difficult time for them both, and it doesn’t help that the old apothecary died last spring.
So, now, Bucky must take what meager coins they both have to see the infamous witch up in the mountain to provide Steve proper medicine. He doesn’t like asking someone like the mage for help, but he doesn’t have any choice; given that the next town is two days by foot, and the old medicine that Steve had from the dead chemist were no longer working.
Thus, the devil it is.
If only there was another way, he really wouldn’t be going up this path. All his life they’ve been warned about the evil that lives in the mountains, how they steals souls, how they bring nothing but misfortunes to those they encounter. He can still hear the village’s chant about it:
There’s a darkness
gathered on the mountains,
one must avoid.
They sell temporary fixes
for a hefty price:
your soul.
But what choice does Bucky have? He’d rather risk his soul than watch Steve slowly succumb to death. Besides, he’s always been quite the disbeliever himself. His mother did tell him to believe none of what you’ve heard and only half of what you see. And his mother had been a bright woman, so there’s that.
There’s still a few kilometres left of the journey, and half of him is excited to see this so-called evil sorcerer, and half scared of what he might discover up in the mountains.
‘Fucking fuck,’ someone screams, startling Bucky. ‘Shit!’ And another series of colourful cursing follows.
‘Who’s there?’ Bucky asks, going off path as he follows the voice of the distressed person. ‘Do you need help?’ He hears a loud frustrated groan followed by a nearby explosion.
Any normal man should have turned the other way because such thing could only mean trouble. But Bucky’s been raised properly by his Ma, and he can never not aid someone who is in need of help. He got that last bit from Steve, his sickly but heroic best friend.
He’s no knight, but he’d rather be dead than turning a blind eye on someone else’s mishap when he could have done something. It could be someone from the village as well. And so his feet takes him into the line of fire as he bloody curse Steve and all his righteous moral compass, because this is definitely not the best idea right now. Heaven knows what else lurks in this forest where a powerful witch lives.
Fortunately for him, there are no monsters or whatsoever, but instead a rather rumpled looking lad with leaves on his messy, dark brown hair and what seems to be coal stains on his face. The boy’s red and gold coloured clothes has got tinged of ashes and its left sleeve have been ripped off, revealing half of his tanned chest and arms.
Bucky averts his eyes from the display of firm and supple muscles. It’s not polite to ogle at people, especially if they are ladies, his Ma said so.
‘Are you okay?’ he asks, focusing instead on the honey-brown eyes which he thought were safe. But by heavens, they are a pool of intoxication that makes his knees weak. He clears his throat to thwart away any inappropriate thoughts. Again, not polite.
‘Well, I am now,’ the younger man says with a mischievous smile, eyeing Bucky head to toe as if he’s a juicy apple for sale.
There’s some joke in there somewhere that Bucky had missed because he’s not sure that this is happening to him at all. Not after he tried very hard to be well-mannered with this stranger. But the stars just can’t stop testing him.
He clears his throat again, feeling himself blush, which is a little embarrassing and makes him blush deeper. There’s just no winning his luck today.
Well, except meeting this beautiful human being. And yes, this lad is gorgeous despite his current state of disarray. It must be those doe eyes and long lashes.
Bucky offers his hand, ignoring his blush and his sudden found attraction. The stranger takes it and he helps him to his feet.
The lad’s hands were calloused, very different from what Bucky expected, given the boy’s air of nobility. So, this stranger must be a commoner like him, which explains the toned muscles.
‘Oh, wow,’ the boy exclaims, still gripping Bucky’s hands. ‘You’re just perfect, aren’t you?’
‘Excuse me?’
‘Your iron arm,’ he replies, letting go of Bucky’s flesh hand as both of his hands gropes the said metal arm. ‘It’s fascinating. But I can―’
Bucky cuts him off as he pulls his arm back swiftly. It’s been three years, but he’s still conscious over it and at the same time wary of people touching it. Not that a lot has gotten to since he always wore his gloves to hide the prosthetic.
‘Sorry. Didn’t know that was a sensitive topic.’ The boy looks chastised, dropping his empty hands to his sides and not meeting Bucky’s eyes.
‘No, it’s okay,’ Bucky assures, cradling his metal arm closer to his chest. ‘It happened a long time ago. I’m just… not used to people knowing immediately.’
The lad meets his eyes and nods, like he understands. And Bucky feels like it’s genuine. ‘Shall we get going?’
It’s Bucky’s turn to nod.
**
They walk in silence towards the original path with Bucky in the rear. The breeze is much stronger now, it rattles the trees, and their leaves and branches coating the quiet forest with eerie sounds.
‘I’m Tony by the way,’ he introduces. ‘What’s your name, soldier?’
‘You can call me: Bucky.’
Tony stops and turns to him, eyebrows raise. ‘Is that your real name?’
They found the old path and takes it, both heading up deeper into the mountains. The sky looks like it’s going to pour down: water if it’s not cold enough, and snow if it’s the worst case scenario. Bucky thinks they both need to find shelter soon, unless they both want to die of the cold.
‘And yours is?’ he retorts. ‘I wasn’t born yesterday, you know. There are many things in this forest that shouldn’t be trusted.’
‘I take offense to that,’ Tony says, mockingly putting a hand over his heart. ‘You can rest assure that I am not a fae. And to begin with, you tried to help me out, so I literally owe you.’
‘That won’t stop a fae from taking advantage of me though,’ he reasons. And maybe, he shouldn’t have given his nickname either, even when it’s only Steve who calls him by that name. Too late now.
A gasp and another dramatic hurt expression. ‘On behalf of the faes, I take offense to that.’
‘Did you just admit that you are one?’
Tony snorts elegantly. ‘Wish I was.’ And he sounds like he means it, which makes Bucky curious as to who Tony is, and how does a human want to be part of the Otherworld.
‘That’s not convincing either,’ he says.
The brown haired boy chuckles. ‘At least you’re smart.’
‘Someone has to be with a boy-who-fights-trouble-that’s-triple-his-size as a best friend.’ He doesn’t even know why he shares this to a stranger. To a could-be fae on top of that.
‘A stubborn fellow, eh?’ Tony’s amuse. ‘Sounds like you yourself.’
‘I thought you said that I was the smart one.’ He frowns.
The boy nods. ‘I did,’ he agrees. ‘But that doesn’t mean that you’re not stubborn enough to forego this journey despite the weather.’ They both stare up at the darkening sky. ‘What’s so important anyway?’
‘Medicine.’
Tony’s eyebrows are raised again. ‘Oh, you’re an apothecary, too?’
‘No, I’m not.’ He’s not sure if he should share more to this unknown person. Not that it’s going to do him anymore harm since so far Tony’s been understanding, especially with his arm situation.
And once again, Tony didn’t pry anymore, which could be a good sign as to what sort of person the stranger is. But it’s still not safe.
‘And you? What are you doing this deep into the forest despite the weather?’ He wants to test Tony and what the boy’s willing to share with Bucky, and then he’ll share as much as he has been given. He’ll really prefer it if Tony talks first.
‘Believe it or not I was settling some debts.’ He grimaces at that. Bucky on the other hand is confuse as that’s one of the vaguest answers he’s ever heard. ‘Two weeks ago there was a robbery and they called me in to investigate.’
‘Are you a soldier?’
Tony shakes his head, a small incredulous smile on his lips. ‘No offense to soldiers, as you’ve been one before, I assume, but I don’t like being part of wars. Fighting someone else’s battles is stupid, in my opinion.’
‘Not when you have something to protect,’ he defends, and he’s not sure why he’s getting sensitive about it.
‘That’s just my opinion, soldier,’ Tony reminds, hands raise in a placating manner. ‘But you have a point,’ he says solemnly, bringing his hands down and looking faraway ahead of them. He shrugs. ‘I guess, I’m just some asshole with nothing to protect or cherish,’ his voice sounded young and forlorn.
And there’s a small ache that wraps around Bucky’s heart at the confession. He can’t imagine a life without having someone dear to you, let it be a family member or a friend. As people, they always needed one another to ground them, to make the air deep in their lungs taste sweeter. Such is being human, built with a necessity to connect with others.
‘I don’t think you’re an asshole,’ he amends, holding himself back from touching Tony to comfort. He wants to take back what he said as well, he shouldn’t act so high and mighty. Some people aren’t made for fighting, each person has got their own roles in this earth to begin with. ‘You don’t like war, that’s reason enough not to join. Maybe you want to protect yourself from the horrors of it, that’s also valid… I would have it I have had a choice.
‘But money was necessary,’ he continues, ‘my best friend needed medicine. He’s the reason why I’m up the mountains in this god-forsaken weather.’ He sighs. ‘They promised a good amount of silver to the family of those joining. And in a way, I thought I was also protecting him if I’m out there, while he can be safe inside our borders.’
‘That’s honorable,’ Tony says after a while. ‘You’re a good friend.’
‘I do what I can.’ He shrugs nonchalantly, uncomfortable on being praised for acting like a decent person.
‘So what sort of medicine are you looking for?’ he asks. ‘Like plants? Or tree barks? Tree roots? Animal blood?’
Bucky grimaced in disgust. ‘Animal blood?’
Tony nods. ‘If you know how to use them properly. The proper ingredients to add. Of course it also depends on what kind of illness they have, because that’s the first thing you need to know in order to get the correct blood for the medicine.’ His hands waves as he speaks. ‘And then of course, next would be the right herbal plants to add for the concoction. Those are important, too.’
‘And how do you know all about animal blood as medicine?’ he asks as he halts, dreading the gut feeling he has.
Tony looks back at him and shrugs. ‘It’s what I do.’
‘What exactly do you do?’ He really has got a bad feeling about who Tony might be. He wants to lie to himself that the shiver that ran down his spine was because of the cold wind.
‘Depends,’ Tony replies. ‘It varies from time to time.’
Bucky’s not sure why a sudden sense of fear envelops him at the very idea of Tony being who he think he is. He prepared himself for this encounter. And Tony’s been nothing but kind to him, even if a little dramatic and teasing, and gorgeous and distracting. Maybe that was the lure of witches, they trick people into liking them before taking their soul.
‘You okay there, Buckaroo?’ Tony’s looking at him, and waiting. ‘Wanna go in before the sky pours?’
He meets Tony’s eyes and sees that they’ve reached a clearing. And in the middle of the clearing is a quaint cottage with two chimneys: one small and one huge. The huge one’s exhaling grey thick grey smoke.
‘I’m sure Jarvis has prepared something warm while we wait for this storm to pass,’ Tony states again.
‘You’re it,’ Bucky mutters incredulously. And he knows that’s not a very polite way of referring to someone. ‘I’m sorry. I… I… I actually came to see you.’ He runs his flesh hand through his hair. ‘I just didn’t know it’s you.’
The boy ― witch ― tilts his head to the side as if in confusion, but at the same time studying Bucky or maybe trying to piece together the situation.
‘I was going to ask you for medicine for my friend,’ Bucky explains. ‘The old apothecary died last spring. And the medicine he used to make my friend isn’t working for him anymore… Please. I… We need your help. Please.’
‘Oh.’ Tony seems to have get it. ‘I thought you’re Nicky’s new apprentice.’
‘What?’
‘Well, you said you were looking for medicine up in the mountain,’ Tony replies. ‘So, I assumed that you’re the new apothecary, but were just being polite when you denied being an apothecary a while back.’
‘No, I’m not.’
‘Yes, you explained.’ Tony continues to stare at him.
‘Are you going to help me? Please.’ He’s not above begging right now. ‘I have money.’
Tony laughs sarcastically. ‘You humans, and your bribes.’
‘What do you want, then?’ he asks sharply. He reminds himself that he needs this witch’s help, for Steve’s sake.
Gone is the kind brown eyes. There’s a dark glint of amusement to those honey coloured ones. ‘Haven’t you heard of the village chant?’ he asks.
There’s a darkness
gathered on the mountains,
one must avoid.
They sell temporary fixes
for a hefty price:
your soul.
Tony saunters towards him, oozing of power and charisma. Brown eyes grounding Bucky in place as he awaits for his fate in the hands of someone who can easily bring him to his knees if he wants to. Half of him scared, and another half is enthralled by the magic that cloaks Tony into an unstoppable force who can move mountains and dry oceans.
Each closing step is like an exciting anticipation and terrifying ending. Until he stops a foot away and holds Bucky’s chin in his thumb and forefinger.
‘Can you afford it, soldier?’ he asks in challenge, the tip of his thumb caresses Bucky’s bottom lip. ‘Are you willing to pay?’
Bucky’s been to war, he’s seen his comrades die. He lost his arm, and has to endure the installment of this new iron arm by the court alchemist. He’s also lost his family before becoming a soldier. And he’s not going to lose Steve just because he can’t look at this witch in the eye.
‘You know I don’t believe in that ridiculous chant,’ he tells Tony. ‘My Ma used to tell me believe none of what you’ve heard and only half of what you see.’
‘Smart woman.’
‘She was.’ He notices now that Tony still has dirt on his face and that his clothes are still torn. He remembers those sad eyes and the empty voice. And just like that the fear fades. ‘I don’t believe you to be what they say you were. Otherwise you would have left me in the woods to get lost and not welcome in your home.’
‘Maybe I’m just trying to lure you into my cottage so I could eat you.’
‘You gotta do better than that,’ he tells him with a sneer.
Tony makes a face. ‘You’re no fun.’
‘Am I now?’
He sighs in defeat and moves away from Bucky. ‘I have a reputation to uphold, you know?’ He walks towards his house. ‘C’mon, Buckaroo. Let’s get that medicine for your stubborn friend.’ He turns to Bucky, a devious grin on his face. ‘Besides, I have a hunch that you’re worth keeping around.’ He licks his lips and continues to saunter, confident that Bucky will follow.
Maybe Bucky should have taken that as threat. But then, Steve did say that Bucky’s a hypocrite when he scolds the blond for always getting into trouble when Bucky’s the one who always walks into trouble with open arms.
Fin.

I’m Sitting Here on My Bed Crying
about George Floyd’s unjust murder. My heart keeps sinking further and further and suddenly every remedial thing that bothered me a week ago means absolutely nothing now. It’s hard not to feel hopeless and disgusted by the world we’ve created and fostered. It’s hard to sit around knowing that people are being gassed and attacked and buildings are being burned to the ground while most of my friends are worried about whether or not their crush will text them back and how their Animal Crossing Village looks (I’m sure it’s fine queen, relax).
I understand wanting to maintain “normalcy”, but if you can’t recognize the privilege in that normalcy then I pity you. Never in my life would I complacently want to be as ignorant as that. It’s really hard for me to keep up with the news. At the peak of my anxiety I would yell and cry at my parents to turn it off because it often kept me up at night. However, now I realize that turning it off is only a temporary fix. And, while the news itself is so obviously biased, even keeping it on wouldn’t do much good.
As I’m writing I’m crying more and more. It really is like I lost a friend. I know that sounds dramatic, but we really should be treating everyone as if they deserve protection, kindness, and care, and when that doesn’t happen, you really do lose something (like oh, I don’t know, humanity). In all honesty, I am terrified of the world. It really does seem like we are on the brink of collapse. Almost like the freaking second coming of Christ is about to happen. Judgment day better be coming soon though because it just keeps getting worse and worse.
I know that the majority of the time I am as positive a person as I can be, but sometimes feeling hurt and shame and anger like this is the motivation one needs to make a change. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be happening though. Even as I write this now I think, “so what,” one speck of dust white girl writing on her tumblr blog that no one reads will not bring someone back to life. However, if this can get even one person thinking about a new way to prioritize their life, then I have done something.
Institutionalized racism never went away. I think that’s a fallacy that unaffected people believe because it’s easy. I loved Will Smith’s quote that “Racism isn’t getting worse, it’s getting filmed.” It’s like when you were little and you “cleaned” your room which really meant you just pushed everything in the closet or under the bed. Eventually, that stuff falls out and people find it. Why do we keep pretending? I can’t believe I just had to compare America to a literal child, that’t what it feels like.
All the while, social media is riddled with friends of mine out in groups. Let’s be real, I get it. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: I want to be with my friends too. I want to hug and kiss and cuddle the people I care about too. I want to party and not feel disgustingly lonely everyday. But guess what, every time I think that I think about what’s really important...and sometimes, SHOCK my wants are not always the most important thing. I’d rather sit in my house alone for another two months than EVER have to experience the loss that some of these people have felt due to COVID-19, and as much as it has been overused as a joke, the phrase “check your privilege” is good advice.
I know in my last post I talked about how excited I was for the future. That is absolutely still true. There is so much beauty in the world that is so regularly overlooked. However (and I’m trying to write this without getting religious..I failed) my inner Hobbes comes out all the time in saying that humans are just innately selfish. We’re animals, literally, (thanks Darwin, wow I’m really name dropping a lot today..also, why do people think that if you’re religious you can’t also believe in some aspects of evolution..ignorance) ANYWAY, what I think it all comes down to is fear.
I recently read a book by Max Lucado called “Fearless.” This particular book was rooted in Christianity which was interesting because for the past few years I had been a little doubtful of my faith (although that’s a different story). I never really expected it to have any relevance in my blog, but the more I think about it, the more it molds how I live my life. Naturally, I’m surround by people of various beliefs and I wouldn’t want it any other way. However, when the world seems to be as evil as it currently is, it makes most people feel like even God abandoned us. However He tells us to not be afraid. I know that you could easily scroll up to where I said, “I’m terrified of the world,” as an argument and that is still true because I’m human; but, when I look more deeply into that fear and anger I realize that chaos only brings chaos and unless you put that fear aside, nothing will come from it.
Let me clarify, I’m not saying that it would be easy for me to interfere if I saw a cop abusing his power. I’m not saying that you need to become an omnipotent superhero and if you don’t then you’re racist. Instead, do something peaceful that prevent that situation from ever happening in the first place. As much as white privilege is disgusting and the inequality is blatant, at the very least use that privilege to the advantage of everyone’s safety before the situation gets worse.
That is why white silence is deafening at this point. If you fear for the loss of your rights in protecting someone else’s then you’re clearly confused about the concept. How dare anyone tell me that “I’m uncomfortable talking about it.” If it were your reality, you wouldn’t have a choice, and you wouldn’t be uncomfortable then. Posting on Instagram is not enough. It’s not. Take time out of your day to think about someone other than yourself, I’m begging at this point.
I had an internship last summer that dealt with institutionalized educational racism and it was the most telling experience of my life because even within the STAFF there were clear hierarchies. Even though it wasn’t race, it was either status or age or gender. It doesn’t matter. There will always be something. And even though we should just help people from the kindness of our hearts and shared knowledge that we’re all human, if that for some reason is not enough for you, know that you could be targeted next for a reason other than race.
I pray in my heart that I continue to live my life in a way that other’s benefit from the work that I do. All I could ever want in my entire life is to make someone else’s world brighter and safer. It baffles and confuses me that someone wouldn’t want this. I truly feel like I am at a stalemate in my head sometimes because while I so fortuitously believe that the world is a beautiful place full of good, it’s getting harder and harder to weed through the ignorance and greed and separations between people that need nothing more than to be unified.
It’s a confusing concept because while an animal’s instincts are to do anything it can to survive, it’s also known through evolutionary research that humans are social creatures (thanks Sapiens, great book..although a 4th grade student in a history class could have told you that). We quite literally need each other, and it’s unfortunate that this isn’t commonplace fact in society.
It’s grim and rainy today. I thought, “how fitting.” It’s like the sky is crying over this absolute madness. If anything, I know what my values are now and that is something that I will continue to pride myself on for the rest of my life.
George Floyd.
Say his name and don’t forget it.
In fact, say all of their names.
I won’t turn a blind eye anymore.

Cheesecake from Greece
Title: Cheesecake from Greece
Pairing: James Ashton x Vivian (MC)
Rating: Stuff
Word count: 2,106 words
My disclaimer: This character is owned by PB, I just enjoy some elaboration. I really love James Ashton and I love Choices fanfics, especially nasty ass stuff but there isn’t much featuring my original bae, James Ashton from The Freshman series
So, I decided to put my amateur ass talent to work and write with James being the *star of the story*
A/N: James’ thoughts are in italics
.. James and Vivian stand facing one another, holding each other’s hands tightly and staring into one another’s eyes.
“Am I missing something? Are we having a moment?” Michael (the lawyer) speaks up.
“Yes" Vivian never looks away from James
“Okay… well I’m going to my judges’ chambers. We have a meeting. I’ll see you two tomorrow “and Michael leaves.
Still looking into his eyes Vivian repeats, “Yes, babe. Yes.” With a hand rested on his cheek, she feels it rise as his mouth curls to smile and they share a deep kiss before James pulls away, “I can’t stop smiling.”
She kisses his smiling lips and when she backs away,
“What’s our next step? We need to be married by morning.”
He pulls her close, kissing her while placing the car keys in her hand “Leave it to me. Go to the car, I’ll handle this.” She smiles walking to the car and he takes out his phone first calling his dad.
“Dad, its James.”
“Hello, son.”
“Dad, I need your help. Do you have any connections with city hall?”
“Depends, son. What do you need? Does this have to do with the girl you’re courting?”
James’ dad has no idea he and Vivian ever broke up, but he stays up to date on the news and with his grandson
“Yes. But hear me out. It’s not necessarily to do with the Black Mamba case.”
“Okay. Then what kind of help do you need in the court?”
“We need a marriage license and to be married. Today.”
“Wow. That is short notice but yes, I can make that happen. Call me back in two hours.”
“Thanks. How’s Logan treating you two?”
“He’s a good boy. That’s to be expected of an Ashton, no matter the age.”
“Alright Dad, I gotta go. I’ll call you back" he hangs up with his dad taking a big sigh as he begins walking to the car.
Time to call her…
He clicks his phone to dial Comfort, laughing to himself when he sees Vivian’s name change. “Temporary bitch.” Comfort answers the phone with a pleasing tone, excited to hear from him.
“Hey, hun. I’m happy to hear from you. I thought you might still be mad"
“Can I come by?”
“What!? Yes! Please do!”
Comfort is full of cheer. Her boyfriend never visits her at home, and it feels like an honor having him come over. She rushes to tidy up her house while James drives to see her with Vivian beside him. Once they arrive at Comforts house,
“Baby wait here. I’m just going to break this off so we can live our life together. “
“Okay babe" Vivian leans to kiss James and he heads into Comforts place.
He knocks on the door and Comfort answers wearing a sports bra and leggings, but it does not entice James. “Hey hun!” she holds out a cup and hands it to James. “It’s the bourbon you liked so much when we went on our first date.”
“Thanks.” James response lacks any emotion, but Comfort is so happy to see him she doesn’t notice.
“I’m so glad you’re here hun. Do you need another bourbon?”
James is already feeling a bit tipsy.
Is this bourbon 100 proof? Damn!
“No, Comfort. We need to talk. Listen a minute.”
“Okay. Let’s talk.” She looks at him with a smile and seductive eyes. She’s happy to see him and ready to have him even when he says
“I’m getting married.”
She’s confused but happy “Hun, we haven’t been together that long but if you’re ready to take that step, we can get engaged.”
How dense can she be?
James can’t fathom how she could think they’re getting married, but he makes it clear
“No, Comfort. We are not getting married. I am getting married. You aren’t even invited to the wedding. “
Finally understanding, Comfort gets upset
“What!? TO WH..” she stops herself from asking a question she feels like she can already answer
“That murderer. I can’t believe you, James. You’re breaking up with me and getting married!? Was this relationship even real at all? You know what, don’t answer that. Enjoy your married murder ass life. I hope you don’t corrupt your innocent son and I hope I never see your stupid ass again!” She pulls James arm, forcing him up and out of the house when she looks up and notices his passenger seat does not look empty. “SHE’S HERE!? You brought the bitch here!??????? “
“Um, is that rhetorical because you can see, right?”
Ignoring James,
“Yeah, uh-huh, bitch I see you.” She signals pointing to her eyes and Vivian. Vivian only laughs and puts her middle finger up. “See, look at this bitch!” Comfort frantically snaps multiple pictures with her phone, “Got her evil ass. Are you still here James? Leave.” But James is on the phone with Abbie making wedding plans. The phone call doesn’t last long, and he hangs up with Abbie, looking to Comfort “Bye Comfort…” he lingers, as if the non-Vivian entranced version of himself may speak up, but only turns to walk to the car where Vivian has news to share.
“I’ve got bad news.”
“Oh no. What’s wrong?”
“The lawyer called. He said the prosecution has more evidence to enter. And someone to testify against me.”
“You’re innocent. None of what they have matters.” He picks up her hand, gently pressing his lips up against the skin. “And we still have your image. My beautiful wife, mother of our infant child. No need to worry.” She smiles.
“Okay, babe. I won’t worry as long as you’re with me.“
“Then you’ll never worry…I almost forgot to ask can you drive? Comfort gave a really strong drink. I feel fine but better safe than sorry.”
“Did it taste funny??”
“No, she said it was from the first restaurant I ever took her to. I think she was trying to make up for screaming at me.”
“Of course, I’ll drive. She has a crazy temper; she better not had poisoned my husband.”
They get out to switch sides and James grabs Vivian to kiss her
“Your husband is fine.” He kisses her once more before letting her go and they get in the car in their new positions.
James phone rings as he’s buckling his seatbelt and luckily, it’s his dad so he doesn’t hang up after three rings
“Your marriage license is ready. I tried to get them to allow you to wed here at our estate. They won’t but be at the court in an hour and a half and they will marry you and give you a marriage certificate. “
“Perfect. Thank you, Dad. Get dressed, get Logan in something warm. You, mom and Logan get to the court.”
“Logan really shouldn’t be out yet.”
“It won’t be long. Dress him warm. See you all soon.” He hangs up the phone “Vivian, can we go home quickly? I gotta grab some things before we head to the courthouse. “
“Which home?”
“The one you never should’ve left.” She smiles
“Okay, okay. To your apartment.”
“We need to start looking at houses…again. We’re a complete family. Mom, dad, child. This apartment is beneath us.”
“You’re right.” By the time he picks up his phone to start a house search, she has already parked in front of his apartment building. He looks up from his phone, “You drive too fast” they kiss, and she follows behind him. James walks into the apartment though Vivian is stopped by a whistle.
“We aren’t supposed to be talking. What do you want?”
“Did it work? Are you back with moneybags?”
“Hey, hey, hey. Shut up. James and I are getting married and that’s all I know.”
“Keeping your hands clean, I get it. I risked losing the veterinarian as a client to help you.”
“I don’t know what you mean. Bye Shaun.” She walks into the apartment to see James wearing an all-white Calvin Klein suit
“Babe!! You’re wearing the white! You said you’d never wear it.”
“I never thought our wedding would be so rushed. You used to try so hard to convince me to wear this. I’ll do anything for you.” The lingering gazes have to suffice while they’re on this time restriction. Vivian walks into the bedroom to freshen up when she eyes a dress in his closet. “I’d been looking for that dress!” she says out loud. James hears her and calls out, “What’s up love?”
“Sorry babe just thinking out loud" she laughs to herself and grabs it to change into. Walking back into the living room
“Let’s go babe" but James looks at her and lowers himself to one knee.
“Vivian, this marriage is being so rushed. I have to at least propose to you the way you deserve. I love you. All you have to do is look my way and I feel a warmth that I want to feel forever. Loving you; being your love creates an everlasting bliss that I often have to remind myself that this is real. You are my fantasy come true. With you, I don’t have to dream anymore. Will you marry me?” she places her hands on his face pulling him up to kiss him “You didn’t even have to say anything. The answer is yes.”
He takes her hand to place the ring on her finger.
“I only have the engagement ring. We can pick out wedding bands together. “ She kisses him again.
“Now we can go" he laughs and holds the door for him while he texts Abbie the time and location.
After he locks the door behind himself and they make it back to the car, Vivian sighs of relief having had dodged seeing Shaun again and James decides to drive to the courthouse.
Once there, they walk to the unusually empty window to state their appointment and they are escorted into a separate room. Walking in the room, Vivian sees her parents, James parents, Little Logan, and Abbie.
“Wow, uh, Hey everyone. I wasn’t expecting this, babe" she smiles at James but walks toward James mother who’s holding Logan.
The judge speaks up. “This is truly a favor for George. I have to get outta here soon.”
“Okay. Baby?” James holds his hand out to Vivian. She sets her hand in his and they walk to the podium where they are wed with simple “I do’s" and a deep, but publicly appropriate kiss.
James has a big ol’ grin plastered on his face when Abbie comes up “Picture time!” They pose, wearing the same smile in each shot. “Now with the baby. I’ll be right back.”
“Babe. Did you do this? Get everyone here?”
“I asked Abbie and my dad for help.”
“This is wonderful. I love you.”
“I wanted our quickie wedding to be as personal as possible. I love you too.”
“Where’s Zack and Grant, Chris, Kaitlyn, Becca, and Zig?”
“You’ll have to ask Abbie. “
“Honestly, would you want Zig here anyway?”
“I don’t care. He’d see who your husband is. Maybe he would recognize our relationship now that we’re married. But again, that was up to Abbie. “
Vivian shrugs “doesn’t matter that much.” Abbie walks up holding Logan “Who wants to hold him?”
Vivian holds her arms out, ready to cradle her son. She poses, smiling beside James and holding Logan. “This is such a happy unit! I’m so glad you were able to get back together. And then married!”
“Vivian really has a hold on me.” He kisses her cheek and notices that the judge has already left.
James dad raises his arm to get James attention. “I have your marriage certificate. Here. “
Each individual congratulates them on their new chapter, the grandparents on both sides stay behind after everyone else leave.
“Looks like we’ve got a new grandson and son in law” Vivian’s mom smiles, teasing James
“Two positive gains, right?” James jokes back
“Oh, of course!” when James dad interrupts the conversation
“Let’s talk strategy. We want to make sure Vivian wins her case.”
“That’s what lawyers are for” Vivian’s mom isn’t concerned
“Exactly. We’ve hired the best for my wife, Not to mention she’s innocent. What more strategy could we need?” James speaks against his father.
“Did you hire Michael Board?” James father doesn’t believe James has any business savvy at all
“Yes"
“Consider me impressed. Okay.” He walks over to his wife; they congratulate Vivian and leave.
Vivian, who is still holding Logan, walks over to James who is still with her parents
“Babe, let’s get Logan home"

What Happened To Us?
Chapter 6: Don’t wait until it’s too late
A/N: I edited this myself, so please be nice haha
Read this story on AO3
"Stop!" Jughead looks over to see Betty in a cheerleading uniform. That's a new fantasy. He blinks and she is covered in blood. Her green eyes are filled with tears. Her honey blonde hair now has streaks of red.
Jughead shakes his continuing nightmare out of his head. He doesn't know if it is some sort of memory or his mind playing tricks on him. He needs some answers.
Jughead sat down and tapped his fingers as he waited. He wasn’t sure what exactly he is expecting.
“Well this is a surprise.” Chuck Clayton sits across from Jughead with a smug smile on his face. Jughead is not exactly sure why he is here. He woke up this morning after having the same nightmare for the fourth night in a row and bought a ticket to Greendale. His feet took control once he was dropped off at the Greendale bus station. Jughead eventually found himself standing at the entrance to the Greendale prison.
“Chuck.” Even though Chuck is a minor for a few months, he is being charged as an adult and being placed in adult prison.
“And what do I owe this pleasure?”
“I want answers. I want to know what happened.”
“Why don’t you ask your girlfriend?” Jughead looks at Chuck confused. He is always confused these days.
“Aw that’s right I heard about the memory loss. Why don’t you ask Betty?” Jughead shifts uncomfortably hearing Chuck say Betty’s name.”I am sure she has a lot to say.” Chuck smiles and Jughead feels sick.”Has she not told you?”
“Leave her out of this.” Jughead lashes out.
“Ooh I hit a nerve. So I guess there is a lot that Betty Cooper has not updated you about. She walks around like she is an angel sent from above, but she is just the devil in a pink cardigan. Did she tell you about the time she locked me in a pool house, drugged me, and handcuffed me to the hot tub? She turned up the temperature attempting to boil me alive before going on a crazy rant pretending to be her sister. And how could I forget the outfit she wore that night when she dressed up like a hooker. Black bra, black skirt, black wig, black high heels, and slutty red lipstick. The things I would have done to that crazy bitch.” Jughead gets out of his seat and Chuck laughs.
“You are so full of shit Chuck.”
“Did she also tell you about the time she slapped me at your party?” His party? Jughead laughs at the thought. He would never have a party. He knows that Jughead
“I would never have a party! You need to up your lying game Chuck.”
“You’ll soon find out Jughead that I am one of the few people in this town that won’t lie to you.” Jughead's blood boils when he sees Chuck's evil smirk.
“Well this was a waste of time.” Jughead motions over to the guard. He doesn’t care about getting details anymore. Jughead cannot spend anymore time being in the same room with Chuck.
Jughead walks out of the meeting area not even looking back. Chuck and Betty have always hated each other, but he could never imagine Betty going as far as Chuck says. He would do anything to hurt others. Chuck Clayton is sick. Jughead officially hates his guts. Chuck Clayton has always been a horrible person. He has bullied him throughout the years alongside Reggie Mantle. Ever since Jughead’s first day of school Chuck has gone out of his way to make him feel bad. He remembers his first day of school like it was yesterday.
He had lost his two front teeth the day before. His mom gave him some change to buy lunch. Jughead could only afford some mini corn dogs and a carton of milk. He had not talked to any of the kids in his class yet, so he sat down Chuck Clayton a first grader walks over with his friend Jason Blossom. They took Jughead's milk and drank it right in front of him. Chuck grabbed Jughead's apple and began to eat it, "Hey that is not very nice." Jughead looked up to see a blonde girl from his kindergarten class. She was wearing a pink dress with polka dots. She had a nice pink ribbon in her ponytail with perfect curls.
"Go away little girl."
"I'll tell Ms. Baker."
"Tattletale." Chuck teases trying to get Betty to back off, but she stands her ground. Betty looks over at their kindergarten teacher. "See you later Beanie boy." Chuck and Jason retreated. Jughead expected Betty to leave as well."Can I sit with you?" She asks politely. Jughead looks at the blonde girl intimidated. "Sure." Jughead tries to play it cool. "I am Betty." She smiles at him revealing her smile with her two front teeth missing. "Jughead." He smiles back. "Hey we both lost our teeth." Betty says before giggling."I lost mine two days ago." "I lost mine last night." Betty waves over at two people to join them. Two boys join them at the table. Jughead recognized one of the boys. Archie. Their dads work together and they have play dates sometimes. Jughead had hoped that they would be in the same class, but Archie is in the other kindergarten class. "Jughead." Archie says excitedly.
"I am Kevin." The other boy says. Jughead smiles at the two boys.
Betty takes her milk out of her pink lunch box and hands it to Jughead.
"No thank you." Jughead says shyly.
"I don't like milk. My mom makes me drink it." Jughead takes the milk from Betty.
"Thanks Betty." Jughead smiles at the pretty blonde girl. She is the nicest person he had ever met in his young life. Suddenly school seemed a little less horrible.
Jughead didn't realize it for a long time, but the first day of Kindergarten was not only the day Chuck Clayton made Jughead his permanent bullying target, but the day that he fell in love with Betty Cooper.
Jughead can get over the bullying without hating Chuck, but he cannot get over the way he talked about Betty.
“Jughead?” Jughead turns around to see Sheriff Keller filling out paperwork.”What are you doing here?”
“I don't know," Jughead answers honestly.
“Visting Chuck isn’t such a good idea. Not with an upcoming trial. You can get all of the answers there. Speaking of the trial. Chuck’s lawyers are really pushing a case here. We need to look through your phone again."
“I thought you guys still had it.”
“I gave it to Betty Cooper a few weeks ago.” Betty has his phone?
“Oh ya right. Sorry brain damage messing with my head again. I left it at home. I’ll drop it by this week before the trial.”
Jughead walks out of the Greendale police station more confused than when he walked in.
_______________________________________________________________________
“Betty hello. Earth to Elizabeth Cooper.” Betty snaps out of her thoughts and looks back at Kevin.”Are you okay?”
“Ya sorry, continue.” Kevin is telling Betty his exciting California stories. Kevin looks at her hesitantly than continues.
“You have barely touched your milkshake in the last hour. It’s probably melted by now.” Betty looks down at her almost melted full milkshake.
“I want to hear more.” Betty tries her best to change the subject. She bashes her eyelashes at Kevin knowing that will do the trick.
Betty California men are everything. There are so many attractive gay men. It was the jackpot. If dad knew what I got up to in California, he would lock me up alongside FP Jones in the Sheriff's station and never let me out.”
“Maybe we should move to California.” Betty suggests. She is half joking. Right now anywhere but Riverdale sounds nice.
“California is the American Dream. We have to go! I used my cousin’s friend’s brother’s fake ID to go out to beach bars. So many hot straight and gay men. Having sex on the beach trumps sweet water river for sure.”
“So you’re over Joaquin officially?” Betty asks carefully.
“I guess so. Finding out that the first relationship that I have ever had was a lie is a hard thing to get over.” Betty is unconvinced. She had witnessed the two together several times. She saw the way that Joaquin looked at Kevin. It may have started out as fake, but anyone could see that Joaquin liked Kevin.
“I don’t believe that. Joaquin had genuine feelings. Nobody is that good of a liar.”
“Typical Betty Cooper always wanting to see the best in people.”
“How did you cope after Joaquin left?”
“We all have our ways of coping with broken relationships. I distracted myself for a bit because we found Jason’s murderer and then Fred got shot. I was in denial for a while, thinking that he would come back. It has been months and I still haven't heard anything from him since he got on that bus. I guess I started to heal when I finally started to mourn the end of my relationship. And then I decided to use the old fashioned method of getting over someone by getting under someone. Which I have done a lot of.”
“Does it work?”
“It’ll never really work without closure. I will never get answers about why he did what he did. I will never know if he had any genuine feelings or not. It drives me nuts that I will never know.”
“I am sorry Kev.”
“Hooking up with people is just a temporary solution, but it's nice to not to feel alone sometimes." "Kev you're never alone." Betty grabs Kevin's hand. "Thanks Betty. Okay seriously you have not touched your whipped cream or your strawberry. There is something seriously wrong with you. Spill.”
“It’s nothing Kevin, really.”
“Boy problems?" Betty avoids eye contact."Right on the money." Kevin is so happy with himself for guessing correctly what is wrong with Betty. "I know a lot about boy issues. You can talk about it you know.”
“Kevin we’re here to talk about your trip-”
“And you. I have been gone through this traumatic time. You have spent years listening to me vent about boys. It is time that I return the favor. So tell me about your boy issues. I may even good you some okay advice. All though I am offended that your man has been hiding those heart throb locks underneath that old beanie. He went from boy to daddy so quick without the beanie.”
“The beanie is apart of him. And yes Jughead does have very nice hair,” Betty blushes."He isn't my man. He doesn't even know that he dated me." Betty says quietly. She feels extremely insecure about the entire situation. She is insecure about Jughead's feelings and about how people are going to judge her for the way she has handled everything.
“What’s going on with Jughead?”
“I almost told him the truth the other day.”
“Really?”
“I feel guilty all of the time. I feel guilty that he is in the hospital at the hands of my enemy. Chuck would have never gone for Jughead with a knife if it weren’t for me. He hates me more than anything.”
“The stupid civil war is why Jughead got attacked. Not you Betty.”
“No part of you thinks Chuck went for Jughead because of me?” Betty asks.
“You can’t blame yourself for that piece of shit Betty.”
“I can’t stop feeling guilty. I have had nightmares every night. I failed my math exam last week. My face is breaking out like crazy, which is making my mom even crazier than normal. I am continuously reminded that my boyfriend doesn’t remember that he loves me and I have yet to tell him that he is my boyfriend.”
“Is there a reason you haven’t told him?”
“I am so scared of his reaction. I know how selfish that sound. I’ll admit it, I’m selfish. I don’t know if I can handle his rejection.”
“How do you know he’ll reject you?” Betty opens her mouth, but then contemplates Kevin’s question.”He fell in love with you before. Why can’t he do it again?”
“This isn’t the same Jug.”
“It’s Jughead from ten months ago. Not Jughead from Mars. Not all of his memories are gone. He is the same Jughead. The same Jughead that fell in love with you the first time. Betty you can’t keep torturing yourself over the ‘what if’. As nail biting as all of this angst is, I can’t stand to see you suffering like this Betty. Don’t turn the ship around just because you’ve encountered some rough waters.”
“Did you just make that up?”
“Did that saying make any sense?”
“Ya I guess.”
“I am writing that down.” Kevin pulls up his notes on his phones of ‘Awesome quotes by Kevin Keller’.
“You two are my OTP. Don’t tell Veronica. She and Archiekins wish they could hold that honor.”
“Kevin he might be moving away with a new foster family. I could lose him forever.”
“Don’t wait until it’s too late. Hey that rhymes! I am on a roll with the quotes.” Betty laughs. She wonders why she doesn't confide in Kevin more often.
“Ya you’re right. I need to grow a pair and tell him.”
“Well what are you waiting for? Go get your man!”
“Have I ever told you how amazing you are Kevin Keller?”
“Not enough.” Betty smiles as she runs over to Pop Tate. She hands him some money.
“This is for Kevin and I plus the tip.”
“Thank you Betty.”
Betty nervously races off to Archie’s house.
Jughead walks into the Andrews household after a long bus ride home. Veronica and Archie are cuddled up on the couch watching cartoons.”Where have you been?” Archie asks. Jughead is surprised that Archie noticed his absence. He has been spending the all of his time the past couple of days with Veronica.
“Therapy.” Jughead lies. He knows Archie has no idea what his schedule is. That lie would never get past Betty. He went to therapy yesterday.
“Mom called she wants to meet with us on Friday about your foster family situation.” "Okay cool." Jughead feels uneasy knowing that there is a decision of where he is going to live. He did get stabbed while living in Riverdale. Betty's words are playing in the back of his head. "Riverdale is your home." He hears her sweet voice say.
Jughead goes into the kitchen and opens the fridge. There is leftover homemade pizza that Betty made for them the other night. She had made his favorite kind of pizza with sausage, pepperoni, ham, and bacon.
Jughead puts the pizza in the microwave. He sits on the counter. Jughead can’t ignore Chuck Clayton’s smug voice in the back of his head. Betty would never drug anyone, not even Chuck Clayton. He also never thought she would lie to him, but she has been keeping his phone. Why would she hide his phone from him? What is she hiding? How much is she hiding for him? Is she hiding things from her for not genuine reasons? For the first time in his life Jughead begins to questions Betty Cooper's intentions.
The microwave beeps and Jughead pulls the pizza out of the microwave. Jughead notices that all of the dishes are now piled up in the sink. He places the pizza onto a paper towel.
Jughead walks back out into the living room taking a bite into the pizza.
“Do you want to watch cartoons with us Jughead?” Veronica offers.
“No thanks. I think I am going to the trailer.” Archie sits up.
“Do you think it’s a good idea to be going to the Southside?” Jughead can tell Archie is anxious. Jughead appreciates people worrying, but it is starting to get annoying. He is the same person. Yes he got stabbed, but he is not a child. He lived the majority of his life doing things by himself before the incident and he has no problem continuing his loner lifestyle.
“My therapist suggested that I go to the trailer. It may bring back some memories.” Jughead decides he needs to some peace and quiet to think about how he is going to handle what he found out today.
“Hearing you say you have a therapist is so weird." Veronica says. "I don't really have a choice. It is part of my recovery. Anyway I can get my memory back I am going to do it." "Do you want us to come with you?” Archie asks.
“No that’s okay don’t want to take you away from Spongebob.” Jughead would rather not be a third wheel for a little bit.
“Be safe.”
“I will." Jughead stops remembering something Chuck had said to him earlier. "Oh and Archie, do I have a girlfriend?” Both Veronica and Archie turn to Jughead away from the tv towards Jughead at the same time.
“That’s not really my place to say.” Archie answers. Veronica kicks him.”Ow.”
“You just gave it away with your dumb answer.” Veronica thinks she is only speaking loud enough for her boyfriend to hear.
“So I do have a girlfriend?” Jughead asks confused.
“I don’t know. You are a mysterious guy Jug. You hardly tell me anything.” Jughead is unconvinced by his answer.
“I’ll catch you guys later.”
Jughead heads out and begins walking towards the Southside. Jughead scans his brain as hard as he can trying to figure out who could possibly be his girlfriend. Chuck told him to “ask his girlfriend.” When Jughead joked about having a girlfriend in the hospital, Veronica was very quick to react. But how could he have a girlfriend? He has never been interested in anyone besides Betty. There is no way that it could be Betty. He knew he would never have had the courage to tell her.
Jughead spots the familiar Sunnyside sign. His eyes are on his dad's trailer when he feels a hand on his shoulder.”Jughead.” Jughead turns around to see a girl who lives in the trailer park. Toni Topaz. She lives a few trailers over from his dad's. Jughead can't remember the last time he has spoken to Toni?
“Hi Toni.”
“It's so good to see you are out of the hospital. Everyone was so worried." She puts her hand on Jughead's cheek and he feels uncomfortable.
“I am okay now." That is far from the truth. Jughead removes Toni's hand from his check. "They say that you lost your memory." "Ya." "That's why you don't remember?" She smiles at him. "Remember what?" "Your girlfriend." Jughead looks at the girl completely shocked. Taking advantage of his shocked state, Toni connects their lips. Jughead is so shocked and confused that he does not know how react. He feels nothing as this girl kisses him. There is no way that she is his girlfriend. His instinct is telling him that is totally wrong. It takes him longer than it should to push her away. ”You are not my girlfriend and it is not okay to mess with somebody who has memory loss." "But I am your girlfriend." "No! My girlfriend would have visited me in the hospital at least once. I don’t know what kind of sick game this is, but I am not playing it,”
“Jughead I am sorry. It is just I have always liked you. You always liked that other girl and when I found out what happened to you-”
“You thought you could trick me into liking you?” Jughead rolls his eyes.”Bye Toni.”
Jughead grabs the spare key from underneath the garden gnome and opens the trailer frustrated.
Betty walks into the Andrews house. She stopped knocking after the hundredth time Fred told her that she didn’t have to knock anymore when Betty was thirteen.
Veronica and Archie are cuddled up on the couch.”Don’t you two look cozy.”
“Betty. Did you come to join us for some afternoon cartoons?” Veronica asks excitedly.
“I came to see Jughead.” Betty says firmly.
“You just missed him. He went to the trailer park.”
“Alone? You let him go alone? What the hell Archie?”
“He didn’t want us to go with him.”
“There is a civil war going on with real life casualties Archie. Jughead almost died. You let a boy with brain damage and no memory of the people who hurt him go to the Southside alone.”
“I am sorry you’re right it was stupid of me to let him go by himself. Why do you want to see him anyways?”
“I am telling him the truth.” Archie looks at Betty concerned.”Not about you Archie. Not Everything is about you. I am telling him about our relationship.”
“Betty that is huge.” Veronica says excitedly.
“I need to go now before I change my mind.”
Betty runs quickly to Jughead’s. She prepares a speech in her head on the way to the trailer park."Hey Jughead one more thing I left out about this year, we began dating. No that doesn't sound right. I'm your girlfriend. You're my boyfriend. Surprised. Ugh that sounds so bad. I love you Jughead and you love me. No that is too pushy. Hey Jughead sorry I forgot to mention this, but we have been together since the fall." She realizes she sounds like a crazy person rambling to herself on the street. She can't help it, Jughead makes her crazy sometimes.
Betty stops at the entrance to gather her final thoughts. Betty pulls Jughead’s phone out of her pocket. No more guilt and secrets about them.
Betty confidently begins walking through the trailer park when she stops in her tracks. Her nails on her left hand begin digging into her palm. Betty wishes she could dig deeper. Her entire body goes numb and she can’t believe her eyes. Standing in front of her is Jughead Jones kissing a Southside girl.
Betty’s heart shatters. Jughead’s phone falls out of Betty’s hands. She quickly reaches down to pick it up. Fresh blood pouring out of her left palm.
Betty quickly turns around and sprints out of the trailer park. She sprints as fast as she can as the tears flow down her face. She runs out her anger and frustration.
Betty stops running out of exhaustion a few blocks later. She is right next to Pop’s.
“Betty?” She sees Kevin exit the diner.”What’s wrong?”
A heartbroken Betty begins hyperventilating.
“Betty breathe. Calm down. Let’s sit down inside.” Betty shakes her hand.
“Just go Kevin I’m fine.”
“Absolutely not.”
“Kevin you can’t see me like this.” Kevin walks Betty over to a bench across the street.
“Please sit Betty.” Betty sits down.”What happened?” Kevin asks as he sits down beside her.
“I was too late.”
A/N: I began writing this chapter yesterday and half of it got deleted, so I had to start the chapter over from scratch this morning. This is a sad chapter I know. So much angst! I live for writing angst you guys! Betty was so close to telling him! I hope my lovely readers enjoy this chapter :)! Thanks again for the love and support <3!

CS FF: Second Chances
Summary: Killian comes clean to Emma and David. He then gets a second chance at proposing to Emma the right way.
Rating: G
Note: So I was less than pleased with the way that proposal went down. I’m hoping they right their wrong in the next couple of episodes. But, until then, this is how I would like for it to go. Hope you enjoy it! ~Steph
...Second Chances: Part 1/1...
Emma woke up with a smile on her face. Her eyes slowly fluttered open and landed on her engagement ring, the sun making the diamond sparkle. She turned over, anxious to welcome her fiancé to a new day. To the beginning of their lives together. The smile slid from Emma's lips as her gaze landed on his empty spot beside her. She ran her hand along the imprint of his form, finding it cold.
Emma got out of bed and made her way downstairs. She found Killian sitting at the kitchen table. The smile reappeared on her lips as she came up behind him, wrapping her arms around him and settling her chin on his shoulder.
"I was hoping to wake up next to my new fiancé today," she said, kissing his neck.
Killian squeezed his eyes closed.
"Apologies, love. I had difficulty sleeping."
"I have trouble sleeping when I’m excited too."
Emma sat down next to him and his eyes moved to her engagement ring. He had been so excited to give it to her, but it wasn't supposed to happen like it did. He didn't want to begin their life together with this terrible secret between them. He knew he could very well lose her for good, but it was a risk he knew he had to take.
Killian swallowed roughly as he met her eyes.
"Emma, there's something I need to tell you," he said.
This time, Emma didn't miss the conflicted and upset look in his eyes. She took his hand in hers.
"Whatever it is, just tell me. We'll get through it together, like we always do."
His tongue lashed at his lips. "I-
Just then, Emma's cell phone rang. She picked it up off the table, sighing heavily. "Sorry, it's my dad."
Killian blew out a breath as she answered the phone.
"Hi, Dad. What's going on?" Emma let out a groan as she listened to her father. "Okay, I'll be right there."
She hung up the phone and met Killian's eyes.
"Everything okay, love?"
"The Evil Queen is back."
"Well, that certainly can't be good."
Emma shook her head. "Nope." She paused, eyeing him. "I'm sorry, but I really have to get down to the station. Can we talk about this tonight?"
Killian nodded, simultaneously relieved for the reprieve and terrified that he wouldn't gain the courage he needed to tell her a third time.
"Of course, love," he said.
"Great," she replied, placing a kiss on his lips. She pulled back and met his eyes, as she squeezed his hand. "And Killian? Don't worry. There's nothing you could ever say to me that would make me not want to marry you or love you any less."
Killian managed a weak smile, but no response, as she released his hand and headed to the stairs. He could only hope that was true.
...
It was dark by the time Emma returned home. Normally, Killian would have gone to the station to help Emma and David, but he couldn't bear to face them. He heard the front door open as he sat on the couch in the dark.
"Killian?" Emma called, as she flipped on the lights and entered the living room. "Why are you sitting here in the dark?"
Killian stood up and came to face her.
"We need to finish our conversation from this morning, Emma."
She nodded. "Okay."
Killian sucked in a deep breath, half-hoping he would be interrupted again and given another temporary reprieve.
"Do you recall the other day when you and Henry went canoeing and you wanted to go in the shed?"
Emma bobbed her head. "And I said I could tell you were lying to me."
"Aye. I was, but it wasn’t about seeing Archie. Your father was in the shed, gathering the potions Regina gave you."
Emma's brow furrowed. "Why would he want those? Is he trying to find a spell to wake my mother on his own?"
Killian shook his head. "No, he was trying to determine where his father was prior to his death."
"His father?"
"Aye, the Evil Queen told him that his death was not an accident, so he wanted to learn who killed his father," Killian said, his voice weakening with every word.
"Why didn't he just tell me? I could've helped him."
Killian shook his head. "David wasn't thinking straight. He hadn't slept in days and was missing your mother terribly. He became consumed with seeking vengeance and knew you wouldn't approve."
Emma crossed her arms over her chest. "But you would."
Killian nodded his head. "That is precisely what he was hoping, but I know what seeking revenge can do and I didn't want him going down that dark path. I tried to stop him."
A smile pulled at Emma's lips. "Of course you did. You're not that man anymore."
Killian dropped his gaze to the ground. "He discovered that King George had ordered his father to be killed so he went to the jail to confront him."
"Oh no," Emma said.
"He had lost all control, Emma. He was holding a knife to his throat when I arrived there."
"Please tell me you stopped him."
Killian nodded. "Aye, that I did. He wasn't thinking clearly and, in the end, I helped him realize that he would be making a terrible mistake."
Emma sighed in relief. "Thank you. I wish you hadn't lied to me and told me what was going on, but I understand why you didn't. You didn't have to be so worried about telling me."
She placed a kiss on his lips and started to turn away, when Killian caught her hand and turned her back to face him.
"Love, I'm afraid that wasn't what I was worried about telling you."
Emma felt a lump form in her throat at the look in his eyes.
"Okay, then what was it?"
Killian swallowed roughly. "August brought me some pages from the storybook that had been removed to give to David. They were about his father. And when I saw the picture of his father, I...."
Killian's voice trailed off, as Emma's brow furrowed. "You what?"
He took another deep breath as he forced himself to meet her eyes. "I knew I had seen him before."
"Killian," Emma said, her voice now trembling, the look in his eyes scaring her.
He forced himself to continue. "Emma, I found him with King George's men. They were about to kill him when I killed them first. He thought I was saving him, but I soon made it clear I was not. He begged for his life, but it fell on deaf ears." He paused and added softly. "I killed your grandfather, Emma."
Emma gasped and took a step back. "What? I...I can't believe this."
Killian saw the pain appear in her eyes and hated himself for putting it there. "I am so sorry, Swan. You must believe I hadn't any idea who he was. I hadn't a clue that I was the one responsible until I saw his picture."
"I do believe that," she said softly. "Why did you tell me? You could've kept this to yourself."
"I wanted to tell you, Emma. It was eating at me and I didn't want to start our life together with a secret between us. But I was worried that you wouldn't want to marry me once you found out and that your father wouldn't want me marrying his daughter."
Emma slowly nodded. "Last night. That's what you were trying to tell me. It wasn't about the proposal."
"Aye. You put me on the spot. You were so excited and I couldn’t bear to hurt you. So I lost my nerve and felt as if I had to propose instead."
Killian looked into her eyes, so conflicted with emotion.
He swallowed hard, as his mouth went dry. "I...understand if you no longer want to marry me. I understand if you want nothing more to do with me."
Emma's mouth hung open for a long moment. She had woken up that morning so happy and had been on cloud nine all day long. She never expected the day to end like this.
Killian waited for her to say something, anything, but no words came. He dropped his head and turned on his heel. Without another word, he headed to the front door and stepped outside. He realized it had begun to snow as he walked onto the porch and down the stairs. The flakes clung to his hair as he heard footsteps behind him.
"Killian, where are you going?"
He turned to face her. "I'll spend the night on my ship. I will return in the morning to retrieve my belongings."
He turned around again, but Emma caught his arm and turned him to face her.
"This is your home," she said firmly.
"Emma, I don't expect you to allow me to remain out of obligation."
"I'm not. I love you, Killian. And the fact that you wanted to come clean when you didn't have to, when you knew what it could cost you, means everything. It proves how much you've changed."
He shook his head. "I don't deserve you, Emma. No matter how many people I save, how hard I try to be a hero, how much good I do, I can't change my past. I can't make up for the terrible misdeeds I’ve committed and the pain I’ve caused so many, the pain I caused your father. You deserve so much better."
Emma took his hand in hers. "You can't live in the past, Killian. The man who killed my grandfather is not the man I fell in love with, he is not the man standing before me right now. That man was greedy and selfish and did not value human life. That’s not who you are anymore."
"But it doesn't change what I did."
Emma shook her head. "No, it doesn’t. Nothing can. But I made you a promise a long time ago to always see the best in you and that will never change."
Killian shook his head in amazement. "I am in awe of you, Emma Swan."
Emma looked down at her ring and slowly pulled it off. She placed it in Killian's hand, as he swallowed roughly.
"But you can't marry me, can you?" he said softly. "I understand, love."
Emma tilted her head. "I don't think you do. I don't want to start our life together like this. I want you to propose when the time is right and the way you planned. When we can both look back on that moment with happiness, not regret and guilt."
Killian's eyes widened. "You mean you still want to marry me?"
Emma smiled gently. "With all my heart."
"But how can you ever look at me the same way again, Swan?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"You once told me that all sins can be forgiven if someone loves you. Well, I love you, Killian. And nothing will ever change that."
"Perhaps I was wrong. Perhaps there are some sins that are unforgivable, Emma."
"I don't believe that."
"Your father may feel differently when I tell him the truth."
Emma slipped her hand in his and squeezed. "You won't have to do it alone."
Killian offered her a grateful smile. "Thank you, love.”
Emma met his eyes. “Come on, let’s go back inside.”
Hands linked together, they made their way back inside their home.
…
The next morning, Emma and Killian stood outside the loft. Emma offered Killian a comforting smile and squeeze of his hand.
“It’s going to be okay,” she said.
Killian managed a nod, as Emma knocked on the door.
A moment later, her father answered the door. “Hey, I wasn’t expecting you guys. What’s going on?”
Emma and Killian walked inside as David closed the door behind them.
“Dad, we have something to tell you.”
A smile spread across his lips and he slapped Killian on the back. “You did it, huh? I guess congratulations are in order.”
Killian’s gaze dropped to the floor, as Emma shook her head.
David’s eyes moved to her hand. “Where’s the ring?”
“Dad, why don’t we sit down at the table?”
David winced at Killian. “Oh, I’m sorry. She said no, didn’t she?” He turned to Emma. “You turned him down?”
Emma sighed. “No, I didn’t. Dad, this is not about our engagement. Killian has something he needs to tell you and it’s not going to be easy to hear. Please, let’s sit down.”
David’s features immediately became etched with worry as they all sat down at the table.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
Killian looked at Emma, his tongue slowly lashing at his lips.
“It’s okay,” she whispered.
Killian swallowed hard and sucked in a breath. He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the pages from the storybook. He placed them in front of David on the table.
“The other night, August came by and gave me these pictures from the storybook. They are of your father. He thought you might want to have them.”
David glanced at Emma, worried about what she would think of him if she learned what he had nearly done.
Killian shook his head. “It’s okay, mate. I told Emma everything. She understands that you were going through a difficult time and weren’t acting yourself.”
David nodded as he looked at Emma. “I have Hook to thank for stopping me from making a terrible mistake.”
Killian averted his gaze again and Emma reached over, linking her fingers with his. “Go ahead, Killian. Tell him.”
David’s brow furrowed. “Tell me what?”
Killian felt his throat go dry. He licked at his lips nervously. “When I looked at the picture of your father, I recognized him. I knew I had seen him before.”
“When?” David asked.
Killian’s voice emerged softly. “The night he was killed.”
David shook his head in confusion. “I don’t understand. You were there?”
“Aye. I came upon King George’s men about to kill him, but I killed them first.”
David’s eyes widened. “You saved my father? Are you telling me he’s still alive out there somewhere? Was it all a mistake?”
“Dad, just listen, please,” Emma said, as Killian shook his head, the guilt and remorse swimming in his eyes.
He took another deep breath, as his lungs began to burn. “I could have saved him, but I didn’t. He begged me for his life. He begged me to spare him so he could be with his son, but I showed him no mercy.” Killian paused and then said, “I killed your father, David.”
David shook his head violently. “No, that’s impossible. There must be some kind of mistake.”
“I’m afraid there isn’t. I promise you I had no idea who he was until I saw that picture, but I am responsible for your father’s death. I am so sorry.”
David stood up so abruptly that his chair came crashing down behind him. His eyes flared. “You killed my father! You had the chance to save him, to allow him to be with his family, and you killed him instead!”
Killian slowly nodded. “There is nothing I can say to change what I did. The man I was back then cared about no one. I had lost everyone I loved, lost my family, and I think perhaps I wanted to make others suffer the way I had. I was a broken man, a terrible excuse for a human being. I am so sorry for what I stole from you. I don’t expect your forgiveness. I know I don’t deserve it. But I wanted you to know the truth.”
David turned to Emma. “He told you the truth?”
Emma nodded. “Yes, he was about to when I told him I had found the ring and I cornered him into proposing. But he came clean last night. Dad, Killian knows what he did was wrong and he feels terrible remorse. But he didn’t have to tell me. He didn’t have to tell you. He could have kept it a secret, knowing what the truth could cost him, but he didn’t.”
David planted his hands on his hips and replied bitterly, “Am I supposed to be grateful to him?”
Emma shook her head, as she felt Killian’s eyes on her. “No, of course not. I just mean that it proves how much he has changed. He can’t change his past, but he is not that man anymore. He has proven that time and again. He is the man that stopped you from making a mistake you would always regret. He is the man that made you see vengeance is never the answer.”
David dropped his eyes to the ground. “It doesn’t change what he took from me.”
Killian swallowed roughly. “You’re right, it doesn’t. Nothing can. I’ll understand if you never want to lay eyes on me again. I’ll understand if you no longer give your blessing for me to marry your daughter.”
David ran his hand through his hair, as he looked down at Emma. “I really wish your mother was here right now.”
“You know what she would say, don’t you?” Emma asked.
David nodded, his voice emerging softly. “That everyone deserves a second chance.” He took a deep breath. “I suppose if your mother can find a way to forgive Regina and become her friend after everything she did to her, then I can find a way to get past this. But it’s going to take some time.”
Emma smiled, as she looked at Killian. “Thank you, Dad.”
“Aye, thank you.”
David met Emma’s eyes. “You still want to marry him, don’t you?”
Emma bobbed her head. “I do.”
“And you’re sure?”
Emma’s smile widened. “I’ve never been so sure of anything in my entire life.”
Killian squeezed her hand in his, as he managed a small smile.
David blew out a breath, as he leaned down and pressed a kiss to Emma’s forehead. “Then I won’t stand in your way. All I want is for you to be happy, Emma.”
“Thank you, Dad,” she replied.
She and Killian stood up, hands remaining entwined, as they exited the loft.
…
Weeks later, Emma cuddled up next to Killian on the couch, the bowl of popcorn with Milk Duds resting between them.
“What is this movie again, love?”
“The Goonies. You’re going to love it. It has a treasure hunt and a ship and bad guys and danger.”
“Sounds perfect,” he said, kissing her temple as she pressed play on the remote.
Killian’s eyes kept drifting over to Emma’s face as she watched the movie and chomped on the popcorn and Milk Duds. It was 45 minutes in and he hadn’t been able to concentrate on it at all. He hadn’t a clue what was happening. His gaze moved to Emma again and this time she caught his eye, her mouth full of popcorn. Her brow furrowed, as she managed a smile.
“What?” she mumbled.
“Nothing, Swan. I just have a hard time tearing my eyes away from you.”
Emma swallowed and leaned forward, pressing a kiss to his lips, before dropping her head onto his shoulder and digging back into the popcorn. Killian peered into the half empty bowl. Emma’s hand was rummaging in search of a Milk Dud when her fingers touched something decidedly not candy or popcorn. Her eyes widened as she lifted her head from Killian’s shoulder and then pulled the object out of the bowl and held it up. It was her engagement ring. Emma’s mouth dropped open as she turned to look at Killian. She hadn’t noticed that he had dropped to one knee in front of her.
“Killian,” she breathed.
He pulled the ring from her fingers and wiped it on his jeans to rid it of any butter. He then held it back up to her.
“Emma Swan, you are undoubtedly the best thing to ever happen to me. You made me see that I could change, that I could be a better man. You made me believe in second chances. And that’s what this is right now. A second chance to do this the right way, the way you deserve. No secrets, no lies, just you and me, love. You are the strongest, bravest, most caring, beautiful woman I have ever met. I know I don’t deserve you, but if you’ll give me the chance, I will make it my duty to spend everyday of our lives together trying to prove myself worthy of you. I want a future with you, Emma. I want a family with you. I love you with all of my heart and soul. Emma Swan, will you do me the great honor of marrying me?”
Emma nodded so hard Killian thought she might injure herself.
“Yes! I’ll marry you, Killian!”
A smile spread across his lips as she held her trembling hand out to him and he slid the ring onto her finger. Emma grabbed him by the collar and hauled him up to her, his lips crashing into hers. The bowl of popcorn landed on the floor, spilling its contents, but neither of them noticed.
Emma pulled back, her forehead resting on his. “I love you so much, Killian. I can’t wait to become your wife.”
Killian cupped her cheek in his hand. “Neither can I. Thank the gods above for second chances.”
Emma laughed and then kissed him again.

Chapter 1 I don't own any of the characters that are going to be used in this story. All publishing rights go to the writers and creators of once upon a time. " a love that is pure never dies even after it fades into oblivion." On a bitterly cold evening the evil queen finds herself walking up and down main street as her mind drifts in and out of consciousness. It flashes her eyes with memories that she once shared with Robin Hood. she had long forgotten about the past that they once made but never acted upon many life times ago. Her eyes fluttered frantically for what felt like an eternity as they slowly opened up and regained their focus. A shadowed figure drifted close to her as she formed a fireball in the palm of her hands, shouts "reveal yourself." Robin shoved the black hood down. He looked up and saw the evil queen with a ball of fire in her hand. He surrendered his hands out in front of him, begged " please don't kill me." The Queen looked at this pathetic peasant with her jet black eyes, snarled "I don't show mercy to those who threaten me." Robin was left completely defenseless against the Evil Queen as he stood there like a helpless child. He did not exactly have too many options accept to give her exactly what she wanted. He shut his eyes and waited for the burst of flames to consume his Queen threw the ball of fire at the hooded figure staring back at her. She waited for ear piercing screams to come out...as nothing escaped out. she felt the back of her hairs tingle across her neck. She arched her body forward, hissed "i'm not afraid of you. So stop hiding behind the hood and face me." Robin never cared much for this side of the woman he loved with every fiber of his being. This version was consumed by darkness and vengeance. He was forced to remind himself that this was not the Regina that he knew and loved. This was the deepest and darkest part of the same woman that saved his son from a flying monkey, terrorized snow white and her prince for all eternity. He knew that reason and pleading with the queen would not go well. He decided to confront the very woman that destroyed his village, murdered his wife along with a dozen of other innocent people" must you do this the hard way you're majesty. We both know that you know who I am, but if you cant figure it out by now, then you clearly are not the woman I fell in love with." he growled. The Evil Queen took her fireball out. Took one step further and saw the very same man that she once knew and loved. She stood very still trying to think of something to say to the thief but nothing came out of her mouth.Since Robin was a former thief it gave him the upper hand and experience to sneak up on anyone swiftly and silently. He was quite surprised to leave the great and terrible evil queen stunned. He enjoyed the fact that no matter how much her majesty hated him there was still apart of her that still cared for him. " There is the queen that I remember. I'm sorry that I snapped at you earlier, but it was the only way to get you to simmer down before you burnt this entire town to the ground." he remarked. The Evil Queen gazed into those dazzling baby blue eyes of his as she blew out the ball of fire in her hand. She felt his warmth radiate off his body, saw the same appealing smile that used to make her go weak in the knees. She remembered the way that gravity pulled the two of them together no matter how hard they tried to resist it. There were a countless number of times when she fell hopelessly and passionately in love with him, but her was not the one that he chose to be with. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to kill you. I thought that you where the hooded-figure from Emma's vision." she gushed. "Well don't worry your majesty, I am not nearly as deadly as you are, but thank you for clearly up a few things for me." He teased. " Not a problem Robin, Oh if you're looking for Regina my guess is that she is either at home with our son, or spending at evening at grannies with the charming clan." She mentions to him, as she anxiously twirls her finger through her hair. " are you sure you're feeling alright your majesty?." he asked. "I'm healthy as a horse." she replied. " well the color of your skin says otherwise." he huffed. Robin knew damn well that the Queen was lying straight to his face. He hid his disappointing look from her quite well. He waits for her to come up with some over dramatic resonance that would drop the entire conversation all together. "we'll I'm fine, really I am. Besides I should get going before someone spots me and reports me to the sheriff." she tells him. "we'll then it was nice to see you again. If you ever need anything you know where to find me. " he told her. "don't count on my promises. They never last more than words do. But I really should be on my way. Just make sure when you see Regina that you handle it with care. We both have suffered through a lot over these past couple of months. I'd hate to watch her fall apart after how hard she has fought to keep herself together." she answered. "thank you for keeping an eye on her when I couldn't be there." he uttered. " no need to thank me for it." she chirped. "I know that you have always believed to be the evil queen, but deep down inside there is good in You just have to be willing to surrender your walls in order to see it." he reassured her. Those soft spoken words that came out of his mouth hit the evil queen soft spot as her wide-eyed gaze fixed upon him for a few more minutes. The soulless whole inside her chest opened up a compartment that allowed her to feel compassion for a split second. Robin knew that the Queen was not an easy woman to love. But not impossible to accept when she's willing to be open and completely vulnerable with him. He could still pinpoint every one of his favorite features that are hidden underneath layers of darkness. He was still connected to every part of her despite there shortcoming. Maybe with a little bit of time he could get her to open up again, spare her soul before it's completely destroyed. One thing that Regina taught him is that everyone deserves a second chance, that you're future is not written by your past, that everyone has the capability to change. The Queen is not exactly fond of love let alone distractions. She flashes herself out before she got caught up in this cheesy melodrama. She walked up the front steps, left herself into the cabin. A flash of bright lights turned on as Zelena sat upright, asked " so sister dear care to tell me where you have been?." "" I was just outside getting some fresh air that's all sis, now calm down before that green skin of your creeps up." The Queen addressed to Zelena as she rolled her eyes ever so slightly. "No need to worry about my wicked ways you're majesty, after all I am just trying to look after my little sister. " Zelena claimed. " I don't need a babysitter." The Queen sassed, she puts her hands directly over her hips."Clearly you do because everyone in this town wants you dead. But since I feel like being the better person I have decided to be your temporary body guard. We don't need anymore repeats from the last several misguided mistakes that you have made." Zelena reminded the Queen. She scans her down with her emerald green eyes. " Now why should I trust you with my own life?. Since when did you care about one else besides yourself?." The Queen asked." Let's just say that I have had a change of heart." Zelena stated. " no one can change that easily. I know that from personal experience sis. I gladly appreciate your efforts but I think that I'm old enough to look after myself." The evil queen confirmed."You're staying at my house sis, it's time you followed my rules." Zelena commanded. " You don't get to tell me what to do sis." The Queen growled deeply." I believe I just did your majesty." Zelena barked. The Queen was not about to let this witch give her another headache for herself loathing demands. She disappeared into a thick cloud of purple smoke; hid behind a tree just outside of Regina house. She spotted there thief making his way down the street, up to the front waited on the stoop for Regina to open up the door and fall into his arms. He pictured this moment in the back of his mind for a very long time. The anticipation of his excitement kept him on the edge of his feet. He paced around and around until someone opened up the door.

Just wanted to share some thoughts on the experience of dropping an art style...
I don’t know why but I really want to share this.
You know, I used to be a big fan of cute things, and drawing in super-deformed / chibi style was my favourite thing, but it somehow, isn’t anymore?
I’m not sure when it ended, but back in 2018 I already felt very wrong drawing chibis. I didn’t want to accept it, I thought that something is wrong with me, that it’s just temporary. It was a really big change for me, to entirely drop an aesthetic that was one of the main ones I was using before.
The Jerrys I drew recently are all in super-deformed, but it’s because I thought it will serve the drawing well, and not because such style appeals to me. I mean, it doesn’t appeal as before. I know how this drawing would make me feel a few years ago, and I know this isn’t me anymore.
It’s not that I dislike this style now. It just lost its entire appeal to me. I’m 100% neutral about it. I might draw characters looking cute, just as I might draw characters looking evil or powerful or whatever. It’s just yet another artstyle used to express certain feels. Nothing exciting about it.
I don’t expect my interests to last forever, no. I just wish I could clearly tell when it’s “just losing an interest” and when it’s “maybe a sign of depression or something”.
ON THE OTHER HAND, my preferred artstyle might very well reflect where I am in life. Manga/anime style, complete with chibi, was good for expressing emotions. My later shift for something more realistic/detailed/superhero-comic-like happened when I was trying to figure out what is real and where is my place in reality. Now I’m getting more and more comfortable with a cartoony style and caricatures, which are good for exaggerating human flaws and character archetypes. They all serve their own purposes. ~Art is a journey I guess~

I am 6 months pregnant and 21 years old. I am still on my parents' health insurance, as I am an unemployed student. My boyfriend, who is an independent, is an unemployed student as well. He is currently uninsured and, as we have found, is uninsurable due to the fact that I am pregnant. My parents' health insurance WILL NOT cover grandchildren (dependents of dependents) and so my baby will not be covered on their plan. Individual health insurance plans will not cover my infant until up to 30 days AFTER he is born (and we can apply for medical insurance for him). How do I secure health care coverage for him BEFORE he comes so he can start going to the pediatrician immediately?""

Are States legally allowed to require car insurance?
Can the State legally mandate that citizens buy insurance from consumer agencies that have little to no regulation of price and guaranteed service? Can we consider this question with these items. item 1: Premium rates are as high as the industry chooses to set them item 2: Insurance companies are not required to provide to low income families (as are utilities, and other necessity services) item 3: Insurance companies only pay a small percentage (20%) of claims, and only 6% without judication.""
Cheap auto insurance for a new driver?
Are there any auto insurance companies which offer rates to their younger customers at anywhere between $100-$250 a month? I've been looking around and every insurance company I check with wants to charge me $500-$900 a month, which is ridiculously out of my budget. It would end up costing more in a year than I plan on spending on my car in total and more a month than my family is paying off on our few year old Kia Soul. I'm aware that having a newer car like a Soul raises my insurance prices, but I don't want to buy another, hopefully crappier, car until I'm sure that I can pay insurance to drive it. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?""

Do I still have to pay car insurance if....?
This is probably a really stupid question, but I'm sixteen, so please just answer... I've had my permit since last September. I've practiced, but my parents won't let me get my license because they can't afford the car insurance. We only have one car anyway. Well, say I were to register a motor vehicle, such as a 50cc moped, which only requires a basic license to use. Would I still have to pay car insurance for my family car if I don't drive it, AND a moped? Or can I stick to paying the motor bike insurance instead? I'm sorry, it's such a stupid question, but I don't know much more about car insurance other than the fact that we can't afford it. Thank you. (:""

Car Insurance Company Refuses to Insure my Brother!?
So, my brother got into a car accident about 3 years ago. He was driving his car and a motorcyclist ran into him doing around 90 mph, causing the bike to flip and the guy on the bike to dismount and skid across the freeway. The motorcyclist was lucky he didn't get run over or killed. It was deemed by both the insurance companies that it was the motorcyclists fault and when the motorcyclist tried to sue our insurance company, we got a letter from our attorney that the case had been dismissed and no further action was needed. Today, we got a call out of the blue from Mercury saying my brother couldn't be on the insurance anymore because they had settled with the motorcyclist for $100,000 and basically, if we didn't get him off the insurance, my whole family would be removed. We didn't receive any notification that Mercury was planning on paying this guy out or that our rates would be altered. We called the attorney's office but he wasn't in and we explained the situation and the receptionist said they might of just settled anyway without letting us know even though this whole thing wasn't even my brother's fault. My question is, if the accident was the fault of the motorcyclist and when the motorcyclist initially sued and was denied a settlement (there was no mention of a settlement on the attorney's letter; it just said that it was dismissed), how and why would Mercury give this jacka$$ $100,000 and deny my brother coverage? It's all very confusing and any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!""

Advantages and disadvantages to insurance companies choosing to be on price comparison websites?
In a particular country, price comparison websites have just arrived to compare insurance products. Companies are not obliged to have their prices quoted on a price comparison website but if they do a commission is paid on any sales through the website. For motor insurance there are a number of companies supplying insurance. Of these insurance companies, company A has chosen not to be on comparison websites but company B has decided to be on the websites. Explain possible reasons for these companies decisions.""
Low Cost Health Insurance (Indiana)?
I was apart of the Medicaid program but then some way some how lost my eligibility for the program. I am 24, and do not smoke. All of the companies I have looked at quotes for are way to high. While I know it is ridiculous to think that I will receive a monthly payment as low as I was receiving while I had Medicaid, which was only $16 a month, I need to find a company, and plan that provides coverage to low income individuals fresh out of college that don't have a lot of money to spend. It would be nice if it was under $50 and still managed to cover most of the things that I need, generic drug coverage, and doctor office visits. Does anyone have a clue where and how I would be able obtain some kind of insurance that will not bankrupt me in the process? And my employer is not an option because they do not offer benefits packages. Please help!!""
