Tumblr media
Picture source : @Mnine5 (Meijo) in Twitter
Note : actually, it’s not a request but I was bored and I wondered « what kind of person would the SNK characters on the social medias be » - soo here we go
Sorry for my english…I am french and I still learning - please forgive me and protect your eyes 🤧
Warning : (12+) social media can be dangerous
SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN ON SOCIAL MEDIA 💥
Eren
Instagram : friends, family, abs, outfits, travel….king of instagram, super popular on instagram, everyone follow him but he only follows his friends and instagram he finds interesting, over time it has become an influence, Eren has like a million followers on Insta @IamErenJaeger
Snapchat :  « who has a netflix account ? » in story, selfies with friends at all kinds of events, often takes pictures of Mikasa and Armin by surprise, never puts a filter on for him or for the people he snaps, everyone can watch his story and comment (public baby), already received nudes… @ErenJaegeeer
Whatsapp : he is in all group discussions but rarely answers, when he answers it is surely because the conversation becomes funny or because they talk about Jean and then it degenerates (when too far between Eren and Jean everyone leaves the group and they end up « wait…everyone is gone…? ») and a new groupe is created but the fight starts again (others are like « here we go again » )
Twitter :  can easily get upset in a debate, is not afraid to say what he thinks, it is blocked by a lot of people (please take away his twitter), has a large fanbase : Jaegerist (@CaptainFlochForster is the leader fanbase…best to avoid them.) it’s very simple : either you’re wrong or you’re not right @ErenJaeger
Tumblr :  He is not really known on tumblr, follow only his friends and is followed only by his friends. Does a lot of reblog tumblr he likes and post a lot kind of sick jokes like « What is the only dog you can eat? - A Hot Dog » (20 followers…)
Armin
Instagram : sharing photos of his travels around the world, a lot of ocean scenery, monuments like the Eifel Tower, does not put a photo of him or his friends, his instagram is public to share his beautiful photos with the world  (2,5K followers) @ArminVibe
Twitter : Sharing conspiracy theories with other twittos, if by misfortune a conspiracy ends up in TT you can be sure that it will tweet all evening, twitter reveals its dark side, It can deal with all subjects and he’s gonna take his time to make you understand that you’re WRONG @ArminArlett
Snapchat : he doesn’t know why he has a snapchat, if you send him a snap photo he will just look without answering but if you start a discussion he will probably lose your message if you have not recorded (his fault, but he really does not do it on purpose, he does not really drag on this social media)
Whatsapp : quite active on whatsapp, in groups it is the one that stays the longest active, uses a correct grammar, always has time for someone who needs to talk (a colossal heart…)
Tumblr : very popular on tumblr with his famous landscape photos, he also likes to share theories with whoever wants it, has created a discussion group of which Erwin and Hanji are part (these three are often found in several discussion groups…), is subscribed to Annie
Mikasa
Instagram : her account is private (like most of his social medias) if she does not know you be sure that she will never accept a subscription request (and she receives a lot of subscription requests), sometimes post photos of Eren and her, sometimes with Armin and a picture with the whole group together, has maximum 5 publications and has maximum 100 subscriptions and she subscribes to only 25 people (who are they?) and her favorite girl’s band @MikasaAckerman
Twitter : is fan of girl’s band, a twitter just to follow their news, she has already been on top tweet (never knew why and honestly she doesn’t care), her account is totally private but she receives a lot of follow requests (she declines) @MikasaAckerman
Snapchat : does not do a lot of selfie but she likes cute filters, often does black snap with dark quotes « the sun always shines after a dark night » , tends to reply 2 days after being sent a snap (🤡) yet she makes the flames with Eren (already 834 flames) so she just ignores snaps
Whatsapp : she is in full of group discussions, but always reads without answering (”Read”), she often ends up leaving the discussion groups (but there is always someone to add her to the group, often Sasha)
Tumblr : has a fake account, by the way she is super popular, she posts her covers of her favorite songs @Mikasong (fucking great voice), already has a small community
Reiner
Instagram : is totally subscribed to Emily Ratajkowski (but who is not?), was the first happy to know that the likes are hidden, kind to like a lot of ass and body fitness (…<.<) it’s sure Historia blocked him (probably deserved) @ReinerBraun
Twitter : profile photo of a football player, often mentions his friends, and ALWAYS mentions Conny for challenges « Dare or not to ring your neighbor’s door at 3:00am and ask him for sugar », the kind to tweets like « Nicki Minaj or Cardi b ? » @ReinerTheBigBrother
Snapchat : You see this guy who makes a lot of views on snap and who everyone asks for publicity? Yes, it’s Reiner. Become master of the screenshot (already found himself in a complicated situation because of it…this awkward moment where you catch something you shouldn’t capture…), also receives nudes (btw 🤡) he never watches stories @ReineerGg
Whatsapp : he often ends up being ejected from discussion groups for his dubious humour and is often the victim of Ymir’s blackmail (screenshots can be fatal…)
Tumblr : he doesn’t even know what it’s for
Bertholdt
Instagram : has two instagram accounts, the first is his real account, he only follows his friends and is only followed by his friends and the second is a (secret) fan account on Annie Leonhart @fannie-kickass
Snapchat : goes selfie on occasions like birthdays (party) or when he is with friends, likes animal filters, snap everyone and without warning, during the evenings with friends he often finds himself in the snap of everyone without his knowledge and discovers him the next day (sleeper pose) @Berth5
Whatsapp : the kind of person to share a lot of petitions like « Hi, Nolan still needs 300,000 signatures to be able to convince his parents to buy him ps5 » (he can’t refuse to share when asked…colossal heart - like Armin <.<), calm in group discussions (is not the type to get involved in an argument, always remains neutral when the situation degenerates), he often speaks with Reiner privately and gives him advice on how to approach Annie - but by the time he decided to send a message to Annie, she had already deleted the application… (legend says he’s still waiting for an answer)
Twitter : if you identify him in a tweet, it will probably not read it but will still like it (why not), he does definitely part of the commentators of entertainment shows or sports matches @Bertholdt
Tumblr : hesitates to create a tumblr but does not really know what he could talk about
Annie
Instagram : shares his training and does not hesitate to make demonstrations of his techniques, is quite popular on instagram, to a lot of publication, post a photo with his father just after each victory with a caption « It is God who gives » ; already has a good community (320K followers), account is certified
Snapchat : never goes on his account, totally professional use, it is his father who manages his snapchat to post in story the videos her training and his official matches with the caption « Little Rocky 🔥 »
Whatsapp : it ended up deleting the app because too much discussion that ends in spam (it will be for a next time Berth)
Tumblr : her little cocoon where she can be herself, the only social media that has her interest, her tumblr is dedicated to the cat, she is a fan @Kitty-Catnnie , the only person in the group to know her tumblr is Armin with whom she sometimes chat
Twitter : She is still on top tweet despite her « Mikasa vs Annie, who wins ??? », she never tweet but retweet a lot of things especially those of Conny, it happens to like the tweets of commentator Jean
Jean
Instagram : if you want to see his account you must first subscribe, generally accept all requests, send quite a lot of DM like « you wouldn’t have a bandage because I hurt myself by falling in love with you » sometimes succeeds other times it ends blocked ( or screenshots that end up on Twitter) @JeanOfficiel
Snapchat : He was blocked by Mikasa and Eren (not for the same reasons), made the flames with everyone (but the most with Marco), has already tried to snap Mikasa in secret (it is caught in the act), loves selfies @Ihateeren
Whatsapp : the kind who doesn’t look to whom he sends a message and always has the wrong discussion, so becomes panicked « DONT READ!!! » accidentally already sent a nude in a group discussion (unfortunately screenshots have been made) Eren laughed about this story for several months like « How is Jeanbo doing ? He’s grown up since last time? » (he doesn’t talk about Jean…you know…)
Tumblr : he created a popular mini series on tumblr « You prefer…? » and also « If you were… » (the concept is very cool and we can do it with all the subjects), made a lot reblog, reblog ALL covers of Mikasa
Twitter : has been blocked by half of the tweetos sphere after several heated debates, is one of the people who comment on the shows mainly reality TV (he does it with passion) « SANDRA LEAVES WITH ANTONIO W/O MONEY !!!! IT’S A FUCKIIIING JOKE ?????!!!!! #TheVillaOfBrokenHeart2 » or « I’m the only one who hates Mike ? #MonacoShore » , it’s that kind of tweet that Annie likes) @JeanKirschtein
Marco
Instagram : accepts only requests from friends, his account is private, sharing small moments of his life with friends and families, use many hashtag like #AllThatGlittersIsNotGoldEvenJean (but nobody understands what he means)
Snapchat : often comments his friends’ stories, is the kind to come talk to you if you put a dark snap like « cruel world »
Whatsapp : often receives private messages like « Marco, are you there? » it always ends in long discussions (« The confidant ») he knows how to find the right words, it is active and always “available” if someone needs it
Twitter : always makes Jean’s defense on twitter, the kind of person to be part of a fanbase (like HarryPotter), uses hastag LGBT+
Tumblr : super popular on tumblr, he makes headcanons and screenplays of his favorite books, series and movies, has a preference for Yaoi but he can make any request (2K followers) @HalfMan
Conny
Instagram : very very popular on instagram thanks to his account with Sacha where they share their farce and does not hesitate to challenge, they post the pranks they make to their friends (1M followers) they are not yet certified @TwoDummies , he has a second private account :  with just family and friends (arround 55 followers) @hismotherson
Snapchat : the kind of person who does a snap at 2H00 of the mat « who for the flames », has a lot of snap discussions, always makes stories that ends badly like « I’m going to ride a bike » and in his last snap he ends up in emergency… (true story)
Whatsapp : has an unimaginable number of “caption this” for ALL situations, it sometimes created discussion groups (it’s just that it prepares a stupidity) otherwise is not super active but will always answer if it has a message
Twitter : clash with everyone « Your mother was pregnant for 9 months of your big head but you can’t stand a joke ? SHAME » (blocked), king of challenges, makes all the challenges where it is mentioned, retweet all the « Dare or not… » of Reiner, uses a lot of abbreviation, he invented a lot of hastag like #AlphaLevi and people have fun with his hastag
Tumblr : his more than empty tumblr, has no profile photo, and compulsive liker, it’s literally a fake account for liking funny things @JustConny
Sasha
Instagram : receives many comments under the photos of his joint account with Conny like « POTAETOS GIRL WE LOVE U » and « POTAETOS POWER », often pranks and ends up in the account, has a second private instafood account and also post photos with Nikolo @MadamePatate
Snapchat : oh my dear, he gets into a lot of trouble (funny drama) so stay connected for his “Storytime” evenings (we often hear Ymir commenting in the background with sarcasm and Conny’s laugh)
Whatsapp : the kind of person to send in a « bbiad » discussion (I’ll be back in a bit) and never come back in the discussion, written in abbreviation, loves group conversations
Twitter : has disabled twitter because of a "caption” that Conny posted on it (potaetos girl exists thanks to a tweet) but there reactivated a week later, tweets like a dramaqueen « WHAAAAT @netflix SEASON TWO IS COMING OUT TOMORROW BUT NOT TODAY  ???? WHYYYYYYYYY ! I’m never gonna be able to wait till tomorrow to eat my popcorns frkrkellelrlrl BUY ME POPCORNS NETFLIX BUUUY », has already been on top tweet #potatoesgirl
Tumblr : victim of her reputation even on tumblr, reblog a lot of post food and potential future challenges from Conny, often finds “caption this” with her face and always reacts with a more than dramatic surprise « SHIT AGAIN ??! »
Historia
Instagram : receives a lot of DM from people she doesn’t know, never accept them, like all the photos of her friends, you can see her insta only if you subscribe…(15K followers) @RealHistoria
Snapchat : renames all her friends by cute nicknames, the kind that snaps the place where she is or her food with a « have a nice day », queen of selfie, likes the filters
Whatsapp : uses a lot of emoji, hearts have become a punctuation, in group discussions she often comments « Ymir !! » after a sarcastic comment, tries to temper when the situation becomes too stormy
Twitter : avoids twitter like the plague, has disabled her account, reactivates it on occasions before losing interest once again, in fact her account is a fake where she is named @christaLenz
Tumblr : pretty active, committed LGBT+ activist, reblog testimonials, lots of likes, reblog Mikasa covers a.k.a Mikasong
Ymir
Instagram : a lot of photos of Historia (it looks like a fan account), often comments the photos of her friends (unfortunately for them) @Ymir
Snapchat : a lot of selfie with Historia, if a fight or something awkward happens in front of her she will be the first to make a snap (and no scruple to put it in her story), if Reiner is the King of awkward screenshots then she is the Queen for INTENTIONAL screenshots, her memories are filled with compromising photos on EVERYONE
Whatsapp : Do you remember the screenshots on snap? Well it is on Whatsapp that they find their usefulness. Can send them to a discussion group as if nothing had happened but her specialty is a service for her silence (yes blackmail) it’s never anything bad, but enough to piss off the victim (who is often Reiner)
Tumblr : forgot her password and honestly she doesn’t want to find it, why did she tumblr ?
Twitter : she is often upset about debates, often sarcastic in her retweets, « Caption This », always the last word, she is very popular on Twitter, she’s already been on top tweet (because a drama with her identity) @LadyYmir
Levi
Instagram : does not really look at his newsline, Instagram in black and white and very orderly (#GrandArt), his account is public but no one can comment on his photos @LeviAckerman
Snapchat : a block Hanji (too many snap video that turned into spam), to rename all his contacts by nicknames like « Brat Number one », « Brat Number 2 » (etc.) and Zeke « shithead » nothing abnormal, It has already posted a snap of his head in front camera (had not done it on purpose) deleted after realizing…(especially after receiving plenty of notifications), he and Zeke attack each other by proxy story (no one understands…but it’s funny to read)
Whatsapp : is always “offline” or “busy” but will always respond if sent a message, probably blocked Zeke on all social medias
Tumblr : shares his passion for tea and cleanliness, loves the healthy atmosphere of tumblr, has quite a fan, reblog and subscribes to Armin @TeaWithLevi
Twitter : Tweet by accident (in the pocket >.<) like « jf’dyt’rimsjrdy’yfgi » but other thant he almost never tweets, but when he does it is to complain or creepy « today I learned that a lollipop breaks easily like the legs of a clown » (…we don’t want understand), he’s already been on top tweet with the #AlphaLevi like « #AlphaLevi can surround his ennemies. Alone. » ; « #AlphaLevi makes the onions cry » ; « #AlphaLevi can go up downstairs » (we thank Conny for this hashtag) @LeviAckerman
Hanji
Instagram : honestly if you want to do a search on someone you have to check with Hanji, FBI of the net (”the stalker”), its account is public : post photos with Levi (who has to be taken by surprise) mentions everyone on its posts, photo with Moblit during their experiences (like “Break”), its instagram looks cool @OfficerZoe
Snapchat : snap often its scientific experiments (and other) and we always hear Moblit screaming in the background « Hanji-san! Back ! » , they like to comment on the stories of Levi and Zeke, already tried to make the flames with Levi and Erwin (tried without success)
Whatsapp : spends its time doing focus groups before it degenerates, its favorite pairs are Eren/ Jean and Levi/ Zeke but never has a battery
Tumblr : strangely its tumblr is very serious, they share its hypotheses and theories on scientific subjects, they talk about its experiences and future scientific experiments, they post the results of its research, has its own focus group (Erwin is one of them) @DrHZoe
Twitter : @Dr.troublegirl everything is in the pseudo, will accumulate and then become spectator of a massacre, his catchphrase is « you’re implying… »
Erwin
Instagram : it is very orderly and pleasant to look at, post works of art that crosses his path, does not often check his actuality but when he does it everyone is happy…(always the little comment that makes a good mood and a little like)
Snapchat : his story is public but only his “friends” can comment, snap his visits to the museum and snap a lot the streetart but is not really active when he makes “snap discussion” @Eyebrow (account created by Hanji…)
Whatsapp : uses impeccable punctuation and grammar, often discusses with Armin on intellectual topics and confronts their assumption he is the only one who is not part of a discussion group with ALL the characters (just a few groups like Hanji/Levi/Mike), from time to time he receives family photos of Niail and talks about old times
Twitter : activist totally committed to good causes ( #blacklivesmatter) (#justicepourAdama ), retweet the political news, has already tweeted with the #AlphaLevi @ErwinSmitt
Tumblr : pretty active, post on subjects that fascinate him (like history), his tumblr is very interesting and orderly, proposes developed theories and some people (students like Conny) go there to find answers to their homework… @Sasageyo
Zeke / Sieg
Instagram : created an insta to talk with Eren but he got blocked after commenting on one of his photos « Beautiful sweetren, you grow up day by day, signed your beloved brother » didn’t understand why he couldn’t see his instagram after that ; his instagram is very neat : instafood & instabook but doesn’t have many followers because his instagram account is private (like 150 follower) @ZekeJaerger
Snapchat : made stories to address to Eren instead of sending him directly in private (didn’t really understand the concept) that’s how to start the attacks between him and Levi, Eren ended up deleting the app to him
Whatsapp : uses impeccable grammar (also blocked Livai on all its social medias), tends to read without answering « Read since two days »
Twitter :  tweets like « I am now on twitter. » or  « Good Morning Twitter. » and lots of  « Join me on Candy Crush » , he also likes to comment on his favorite culinary shows with a lot hastag, honestly he is one of the people who blocked Eren on Twitter but does not really assume it  « What ? Weird…I must have hit the wrong button… » yes of course… @ZekeJaeger
Tumblr : reblog Erwin’s posts which he finds very interesting, to himself his own theories which he confronts with Erwin in discussion groups, is part of a quite popular team on tumblr “GenshiKyojin”, (with leader Eren Kruger) #uses #too #much #hastag (#like #me) @KemenoNoKyojin

Now that I have time and some motivation let's get down to business.
Paz also has tattoos for you,
One of your name in mando'a,
Second of the star constellation that you spotted on your trip, we love our wiccan king,
He'd 10000% be the guy to get his child's birth date tattooed,
Paz posting his precious doggo on instagram?,
Oh or Paz starting a culinary YouTube channel???,
And also showing his of the grid lifestyle?,
showing his animal rescue and promoting adoptions!,
He is buffy, handsome, funny, loves children and animals, dresses good and is the best chef, so there are many fanboys and fangirls in his comments thirsting over him,
When the comments asking if he is single get too overwhelming, he asks you to tune in for some vlogs,
You'd definitely film a mukbang video!!,
And also these crazy spicy noodle challenges,
Boba accidentally disliking all of Paz' videos?? (we are still onto tech-grandpa Boba? 😂),
You have to make sure that he doesn't post any pictures done by his hand,
He'd retweet funny clips of cats and cute pictures from Jango Investigation company's official profile,
Also him leaving embarrassing comments on your profile?
Or not knowing that there is function to dm you on instagram,
So he comments on your recent holiday trip picture ''you looked good in this swimsuit princess, shame on me I tore it apart'' or ''looking tempting babygirl, be ready, sir will be home soon'',
Din doesn't really care for sm?,
Like he used to be a casual user,
But one day people were flooding his comments and dms, spamming him with @pascalisapunk,
He noticed that you were watching youtube kids with Grogu,
(oh now I hope you will know what is going on) Grogu really likes watching cocomelon,
So Din tricked him to watching PewDiePie instead,
You don't like it tho, thinking these videos are too edgy and stupid for both of them,
''Din you've watched too many of these videos and you became a brain-rotten himbo I don't want the same to happen to our son!'',
Din and Grogu playing Minecraft together? 🥺,
Also Paz has the best town in Animal crossing for sure!,
Surprise, surprise Boba actually likes and knows how to(!!!) play Mafia game (well it's from 2002 so maybe that's why lol),
But he is the king of board games,
Especially Monopoly!!!
Also not to mention cars games,
He made you play strip poker with him 😳,
Paz and you doing a baby shower at his restaurant!!,
Imagine big daddy bear Paz with a little babygirl 😍😍😍, (Bummer that we don't have an official name for the Armorer, could be honored by Paz naming his baby after her 😭),
Grogu telling his friends at school that his daddy is also an actor lol,
Few days later bunch of 5 year olds are asking him if this is the way to the restroom, if he can bring in some hot chocolate, and doing the baby yoda batuu sound at him lol,
Poor Din, but he secretly loves it, he just loves children,
So imagine his combustion when you tell him that you are having a little Djarin 😍,
Paz helping with babyshower??,
And Boba is totally on buying you a new, bigger apartment as a gift lol,
''What, Djarin? Can't have my little nephew and favorite sister-in-law who is pregnant living in your excuse of an apartament'' lol Boba has no chill,
Grogu gets addicted to bubble tea,
And it isn't because of your introduction, you knew better not to let him drink too often,
But everyday, after coming back from the kindergarten Din and Grogu would stop by your favorite bubble tea shop,
Grogu totally wants a little brother!,
And Din is thinking about a little babygirl or better, why not both, or even better two little boys and a little girl and Grogu being their big bro 😍,
You better be ready for some intensive wrestling sessions,
You and Din have no idea why, but lately, he seems to cum A LOT MORE,
When Boba carries out the tradition you are pregnant,
Pregnant with twin boys,
And the look identical, like they were literally cloned 😉,
Boba wouldn't throw a huge babyshower,
He is too afraid after the incident involving you and the rival syndicate,
Actually Boba decided that you should move from the downtown, to live in a more low-key area,
So you are now living in a palace 😉 in the suburbs
Boba gets you a private driver and a bodyguard,
But most of the time he tries to drive you to work since you both have offices in the downtown area,
Your daily commute can get really pleasurable for both of you 😳,
Boba has his own shooting range lol, king of extra right?
One day when you were babysitting Grogu at your place you found out that Boba was teaching the kid about shooting,
You were furious,
''C'mon princess, haven't I told you about me and my father? He showed me how to use a gun when I was even younger than Grogu'',
Srsly, this man,
Giving him a death glare you take Grogu and treat him for some bubble tea
-🐣
Oh yeeesss let's get to business....
Paz's tattoos 😭😭😭 so cute (kind of reminds me of my dad, he has all of our names)
Paz totally has an Instagram dedicated to Ad'ika
Paz being thirsted after on his YouTube is so cute
But his followers also really ship the two of you, because you both are just couple goals
Paz makes you the cutest anniversary video and posts it to his YouTube
Paz is a total gamer, he absolutely loves Animal Crossing and he makes a whole section of his town dedicated to you
Paz throws the absolute cutest baby shower and anyone and everyone is invited
You both decide to wait until after the baby is born to find out the gender, and Paz has a raffle going on at the restaurant where people can guess the gender
Armorer = Amira? Amara? Andromeda??
He makes you both cute matching sweaters for your characters
Paz is the one that introduced Grogu to minecraft
Boba cause so much havoc on social media
He totally is leaving thirst comments under your pictures on Instagram not realizing everyone else can see them too
You have a Instagram set up for Fennec too because she is just so photogenic, at least when you take the pictures
I think Boba is actually pretty proficient at using Twitter, and its more or less because he uses it to stalk people 9/10
You have a tumblr where you tease and make fun of Boba, mostly posting quotes or the silly pictures that Boba takes
Boba totally dominates at any board game, but especially Monopoly
That game of strip poker did not last long at all, and you think Boba quite literally was hiding aces up his sleeves
Boba makes sure you are always thoroughly satisfied before he drops you off at work every morning
When Boba finds out you're pregnant he celebrates, and its huge
He starts going all out buying anything and everything he can/wants
When he finds out its twin boys he is over the moon
Names for the boys, Jango and Jaster? Rex and Cody??
Boba totally buys some big house outside of town, that has anything and everything you could ever ask for
It also has a panic room and state of the art safety because Boba isn't taking chances with you or the boys
Also, bringing the babysitting saga to the modern au 😭😭
You walk in on Boba handing Grogu a gun and you flip out, yelling at him
He just shrugs and you take Grogu away and say that your kids WILL N O T learn how to do any of that stuff until they are atleast teenagers
Boba pouts because you ruined his and Grogu's bonding time
When Din comes to pick up Grogu, Grogu looks him in the eye and says "cocksucker"
Din has a heart attack and Boba laughs as you yell at him asking where he heard that
Grogu says that he heard uncle Boba say it while on the phone
Din tries to follow Paz’s recipes from his YouTube, and it always turns out badly and you have to come in and save it
Din totally loves Pewdiepie's humor
Din gets frustrated with social media and ends up just making an empty account so he can follow you and watch videos, but after the whole Pedro Pascal disaster he never posts anything
Grogu and you are his profile picture though
When Grogu goes around telling the kids at school he is the mandalorian he just sighs
And when all of the kids start quoting the show, he just starts quoting them back so they will stop bothering him
When Din announced the pregnancy Paz got so excited to have another nephew/niece
Paz lets Din hold the baby shower at the restaurant and he makes all of the food, including little gender reveal cake pops
Paz gifts the two of you a photo album at has pictures of the two of you and grogu, but it is still half empty so you can add more memories of your expanding family
Boba just hands Din house keys a day says the place is paid off and he's covering the bills for the first year (he also had a nice play set built in the backyard for Grogu)

How do I earn money from Twitter? Explain step by step.
Originally Answered: How do I earn money from Twitter, explain step by step?
Before you can make money on Twitter, you have to build a following. So first, I’ll dive into how you can grow your account. After that, I’ll give you plenty of examples of how to earn money.
The hardest part of growing on Twitter is the first 1,000 followers.
How to get your first 1,000 followers.
The easiest way to reach 100 followers is to Follow for Follow people. There are many Facebook groups where you can post your profile and ask people to follow back.
Here’s a link to a group you can join on Facebook.
Tumblr media
Followers aren’t the same as fans
Getting your follower count off 0 is important because it gives you credibility. Nobody wants to be first in following you. But in order to grow on Twitter, you need to connect and form relationships.
One quote I keep using over and over is from JK Molina on Twitter saying: Be a sage when you tweet and be a bro when you comment.
People want to learn and enjoy themselves on Twitter. So if you tweet something on your timeline and you want people to interact with it, be sure to provide value.
If you want to connect with others, be sure you’re a Bro. The easiest way to do this is to remember how you interact with your friends in real life.
You probably make jokes. You make fun of them. Etc.
When you create positive emotion, that’s when you make fans.
Friends and fans are the foundation of your path to Twitter growth. They engage with your tweets and that’s the only way your tweets will get more reach.
The more reach your tweets get, the more people will see them and view your profile. The more people that view your profile, the more people will follow you.
Before people follow you, they look at your profile and size you up
Make sure they don’t find a “basic” eggshell as a profile pic. Preferably, upload your picture so everyone knows who’s the face behind the tweets.
Create a bio that shows what people can learn from you
Bad bio: I’m a 25-year-old student. I live in The United States and I’m studying political science.
Good bio: Follow me if you want to learn about the tricks politicians use. I explain them like a six-year-old. Also, I really love cat memes.
The first one only mentions things about you. It’s doesn’t make a connection with me. I have no idea what kind of tweets I’ll see from you.
The second one is clear about what tweets I’ll get from you and you’re making a connection with me because the cat memes part is funny.
Tweet a bit on your own timeline so when people click through to it they won’t see a blank page.
The most important thing you have to do until you reach 1,000 followers is engaging with others. Both small and large accounts.
Follow big and small accounts in your niches/interest
Make connections with the small accounts. Be a bro. Retweet their tweets. Follow them. Send them a DM.
Never do an “ask” when you send a DM.
Only “give”. For example, tell them how much a certain tweet of theirs resonated with you. Or that you enjoy interacting with them. That’s it.
Add value to the larger accounts. Add nuances. Add to the discussion.
Don’t be a smartass where you try to improve on the tweet that was sent by them. Add your perspective to it.
When you follow big accounts, make sure you also set a notification. It’s the bell icon.
When they tweet you get a push notification. Timing is everything on Twitter because the half-life of a tweet is very short. The sooner you get your comment in, the more engagement that tweet will get. The more engagement, the more followers you will gain from it.
Consistency is important
Twitter’s Algo rewards people who tweet consistently. Like daily. It helps when you can schedule your tweets. Use Hypefury - Grow & Monetize your Twitter presence to make your life easier. (You can try it for free for 14 days)
Now for the money-making part
You need to have at least a couple of hundred followers for the following tactics to work. If you don’t have at least 300 - 500 followers, rinse and repeat the above-mentioned tactics first.
Buy someone’s course. Read it. Execute on it. Next: DM the maker that you really enjoyed their course. No, ask yet. Tell them how much it made a difference in your life. Once you get a reply, ask if you can be their affiliate. They probably say yes. Next, tweet about the results and mention the maker. Don’t create a single tweet. Create a thread and mention what you did and what results from the course you gained. End with your affiliate link to the course. Being someone’s affiliate is the easiest way to make money. You don’t have to create anything yourself. You just have to buy someone’s course and tweet about it in a meaningful way. Never make the mistake of asking someone if you can be their affiliate without being their product first. It’s just BS. You need to understand how the course or product works in order to sell it. You don’t want to give the creator a bad name either.
The best way to make money is to create your own course. It’s simple, but not easy. You need to have knowledge of a specific area but you also need to know if people are interested in buying your course. The best way to do this is to build in public. Show what you’re building and see if you get any traction when you talk about it. if you don’t, ask your followers what they think. If the response is still low. Abandon it and choose a different angle. Once you nailed your course angle, use Canva.com to create your ebook or record a video where you run through a slide deck. It’s actually easier and less time-consuming to create a video than it is to create an ebook. And the value of a video course is higher than an ebook. If you have time on your hands, create both and have the bundle as an upsell. Gumroad is a marketplace for digital products and is often used by people on Twitter to sell their courses. Price your first product between $8 and $20. If it’s just an ebook, don’t go higher than $10. If it’s the bundle you can go a bit higher.
Create a (paid) newsletter on Substack and funnel people from Twitter to it. Threads that explain valuable insights to people are ideal funnels towards signup forms.
If you have a lot of followers on Twitter you can make money with other things as well.
Create a community out of people who bought your courses.
Tweet ads
To paid shoutouts
Retweet others
Be careful though. When you do paid shoutouts and retweets you could end up getting your account shut down because this can be against Twitter’s TOS.

2021 Offseason Questions: Has Devin Bush Lost His Password Or His Mind?
Tumblr media
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2020 season is now in the books, and it ended in spectacular fashion—though the wrong kind of spectacular—in a dismal postseason defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Browns, sending them into an early offseason mode after going 12-4 in the regular season and winning the AFC North for the first time in three years. Since then, they have lost several players in free agency who were key members of the offense and defense, and multiple starters retired, as well. They made few notable additions in free agency, and are banking on contributions on offense from their rookies, as well as perhaps a last ride for Ben Roethlisberger. The only thing facing them now as they head into 2021 is more questions, and right now, they lack answers. They know that they have Roethlisberger for one more year, but was that even the right decision? How successful can Najee Harris be behind a questionable offensive line? What kind of changes can Matt Canada and Adrian Klemm bring to the offense? And how can the defense retain the status quote with the losses of Bud Dupree, Steven Nelson, and Mike Hilton? These are the sorts of questions among many others that we have been exploring on a daily basis and will continue to do so. Football has become a year-round pastime and there is always a question to be asked, though there is rarely a concrete answer, but this is your venue for exploring the topics we present through all their uncertainty. Question: What’s going on with Devin Bush and his Twitter account? The headline is just for clicks (yes, we run a business), but it’s clear that many have had their eyes on this story, and have wondered why we have not. I can’t remember the last time I’ve gotten so many messages and comments asking about why we’re not addressing a topic before. Frankly, it’s one I’ve wanted to avoid. Not because I’m afraid to portray a player in a bad light, but because I don’t find it particularly interesting. But here we are, nevertheless. Third-year linebacker Devin Bush apparently decided to use his holiday weekend to act up on Twitter. I’m not somebody who is interested in players’ personal lives; truth be told, there are only a few, like Cameron Heyward, I bother to ‘follow’ on social media, so most of what I see is what has been brought to my attention by others. That is to say that I’m not intimately familiar with Bush’s typical online behavior, but he’s clearly been doing something different, because he managed to get himself trending. While the biggest concern many have had was his retweeting a video of a cat falling, though not to its death as I later learned (the original seems to have been deleted, if I’m not mistaken; I’m also not going to pretend I watched the whole video), he’s also found himself complaining about money and even telling fans that if they want him to get off social media to Venmo him $20. It got to the point where teammates were beginning to comment, with Zach Banner saying he’s going to confiscate his phone once Bush gets back to Pittsburgh. Many have speculated that perhaps his Twitter account had been hacked (which one might think is plausible, given the requests for money), yet I feel we would have known by now if this were actually the case. The latest is that he has turned off replies to his Tweets as of yesterday. So what exactly has gotten into him? Has he gone stir crazy? Has he been drinking too much? Is he just being a young adult with all the foolishness it entails? Is there anything that fans of the team—or the team—should be concerned about? While he’s certainly made some remarks that have bothered people, he hasn’t done anything illegal. Much of it appears to be him just being honest about his perspective, his life, and his intentions, i.e. making money, of which he has already received over $13.5 million on his fully guaranteed rookie deal of nearly $19 million. One would think that the best way for him to make more would be to keep his brand clean, which he currently isn’t doing.

1. 2015 - Feb 2016
Back in late 2014 I started living alone for the very first time and not long after this, I started experiencing unexplained pains. So I started a 'diary' using email drafts on my phone, until one day all my drafts got deleted, so I created a twitter account to use for my diary instead, because of date/time stamps. Because of this I haven't and don't follow anyone on twitter, so in order for me to see anyone's tweets, I'd have to use the twitter search engine to search for their account.
Not long after joining twitter, I started noticing tweets that seemed to be aimed at mine, this was mainly being done via twitter's search engine. Anytime I'd write out a tweet (to myself), I'd do a twitter search (as I didn't/don't follow anyone) and this is where I noticed the tweets. The more significant my tweets, the more significant the responses, to the point of death threats, threats about family and then family member's name's being mentioned, even children. This was/is all being done via various accounts. All this even though my account has always been anonymous, no mention of any family, names, details etc.
So anytime I'd tweet anything important, I do a twitter search (of any word, doesn't matter) and as I refresh the page, more of these tweets relating to me and then family would pop up, it's not just one person, these people are involved with the media/celeb world.
Over time I started noticing certain celebs popping up a lot, every time I'd do my searches, one of these being ariana grande.
So after I starting living alone for the first time and after I created my twitter account (around feb 2015), one of the accounts i started noticing from the beginning after twitter searches, was a @ quotetaylorswift account, almost every time I’ll go on twitter.  From the very off I was unable to post on a number of famous twitter accounts for some reason, which was a bit weird.
Also by this time, only after about a week at my new place, I had started experiencing unexplained pains and still do to this day.
This was my very first post, a retweet @ quotetayswift.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later that day a post on taylor’s official account about her cat owing her money for scratching her leg.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
By now i had started checking this @ quotetayswift account whenever I’d go on twitter, I understand they’re only quotes, but they seemed to be directed at me (mostly cos of the ‘pains’ i was feeling), so i kept my eye open. This was the next tweet i saw later on.
Tumblr media
‘band aids don’t fix bullet holes’ tweet later on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(these were just some of the tweets I'd seen and managed to save, there were hundreds more, this is just to give an idea, paint a picture of what's going on)
Things were getting crazy now, quite shocked with all this shit, all a bit too much, tried staying off twitter, but things got even worse, more pains etc.
Next time i check out the @ quotetayswift account.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fast forward a few months, ever since i had started replying to the @ quotetayswift tweets, i started noticing A LOT of ‘activity’ when i started doing the twitter searches, i was searching the word ‘heart’. I had already started taking screen shots, but had not thought of taking screenshots of the actual twitter searches, but you can still see the word ‘heart’ in all the following tweets.
This ‘friends can break your hear too’ was a tweet that started popping up a lot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After replying to this tweet, a 'RIP Tabia' (my 'name')
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The 'friends can break your heart' tweet again
Tumblr media
'before your family fell apart tweet, another one I'd see more of whenever logging on, account suspended
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
'bro' tweet mentioning bro's 'name/nickname' and another 'before your family fell apart' tweet. Looking back now, this was a sort of warning, which they've now followed through with. I tried plenty of times to ignore everything but I've been forced into not ignoring stuff, so I've had to speak out, no choice.
Tumblr media
username changed to another bro's initial
Tumblr media Tumblr media
my reply to a tweet, seems to be deleted, about taylor swift. I don't exactly who was/is on my case, cos there's so many people involved, but most of my tweets were/are to get reaction, to show/prove what's going on, so I've been playing along with what 'they' want to have me believe.
 Drowning heart tweet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
more tweets about what's going on
Tumblr media Tumblr media
what I mean by being forced to going on twitter, I'd feel weird sudden pains, log on and these are the kind of tweets I see.
Repetitive tweets
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I've said, more i mention, the more serious the responses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later on the 'heart beats faster' tweet
Tumblr media
After replying to this next tweet about pain, loads of tweets pretty much describing exactly what I was feeling follow, again, I hadn't started taking screenshots of the search results yet but you can still see all the tweets contain the word 'heart', word I was searching, I've stuck with this key word since.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bit later, expect more pain tweet
Tumblr media
By now I realized  these people weren't messing about, so it made no difference if I said anything or not, things were just getting worse. So I thought I might as well speak about whatever I felt was going on.
Tweets about what I felt/feel what was/is being done to my heart
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
more tweets later by me and a tweet about a conspiracy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After previous tweets, I do a twitter search of the word 'heart' and this tweet about twitter changing the star to a heart for liking tweets pops up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another tweet that started popping a lot
Tumblr media
me ranting about being watched etc, a ‘leading people on’ tweet which i reply to and then a tweet by ‘the watcher’
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
heart beats faster tweet
Tumblr media
guard heart
Tumblr media
my reply
Tumblr media
fragile heart tweet
Tumblr media
Following tweets are about certain individuals possibly being involved, whether they are or not, to what extent remains to be seen, as said before my tweets were/are mainly to get a reaction cos I knew/know something was/is going on
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After these tweets (above), the next are one after the other, all related, i response to mine, one with my name, a ‘dead’ one straight after and then a good luck/bingo tweet
ed sheeran lyrics, straight after mentioning him,
Tumblr media
my name,
Tumblr media
dead,
Tumblr media
me questioning whether I’m right or not,
Tumblr media
good luck, bingo

Safely Involve Students in Social Media and More Ways to Give Students a Voice
Shownotes: www.coolcatteacher.com/e143 Wednesday, September 6, 2017
Vicki: Today we’re talking to Heather Callihan @hcallihan from Nebraska about helping kids find their voice in some very practical ways.
How do you help kids find their voice?
So, Heather, how do you help kids find their voice?
Heather: Well, Vicki, I have a passion for digital citizenship and student voice integrated in there. I think one of the things that I try to promote with teachers with administrators, and people within our district and our state is, “How do you allow (this), and what are you doing in your schools to put student voice out there?
So, we have, obviously — across the United States and the world — we’ve got this push for social media and schools sharing their story. I feel like a lot of the stories are shared by administrators or teachers that have access to the accounts. I feel very strongly about sharing stories, but student voices as well.
So, what can we do to get our student voice integrated into those school accounts, like our school Twitter, school Facebook, Instagram? Our students are in the classroom. They’re in the trenches. They are at the activities. They’re at the athletic events. And so, anytime they can post to Twitter or post to Facebook is a good opportunity for them to share the story.
Integrating that into your district accounts or your school-specific social media accounts is an awesome way to share that story. I think districts strive to share their story, but I think there’s just so much power in the student voice.
What tools help us let kids have input into the school social media accounts?
Vicki: How do we do that? I work with our school Facebook page. If a kid posts something on Facebook, usually, of course, it’s private. But if I turn around and re-share that on the school Facebook page, then haven’t I just compromised their privacy? How can we do this without having privacy worries?
Heather: One of the things that we have incorporated (is that) we are currently piloting a tool called Class Intercom. This tool empowers students to be digital leaders, but it also makes the social media easy for schools. Basically, what it does is connect your school social media to the account and allows students access to that portal, where they can create the posts. So they’re actually creating the post for your school account, but as a teacher, I’m the coach.
I coach them through that authentic digital citizenship “opportunity,” I guess you could say, where I get a notification that says that a student posted this, or this picture and this 40-character Tweet. I can hit “Submit” or I can add a comment, change some things. It gives those authentic teaching opportunities – not just for digital citizenship but for simple things like grammatical errors, or anything that would normally come up as far as grammar and sentence structure.
So that’s one of the things we’re doing. We’re using it as a way to share our story through student voice, but also this year we would like to incorporate it into an internship opportunity. We see the push for the marketing positions out there, and they deal with a lot more social media than they used to, and so that is the future of marketing, per se. It’s an authentic way to coach them through those opportunities. We’re kind of at the beginning stages of it, but it’s an awesome opportunity to do that.
How do you give students credit for their work?
Vicki: Is there some kind of notation on the post that’s been written of the student that wrote it?
Heather: No, we haven’t. If they want to, they can, if they want to reference their own personal Twitter account. A lot of times what students will do with that tweet from the Class Intercom portal is they’ll just retweet it on their account, and maybe quote the tweet and say something like that.
Or as a Tech Coach myself, I might retweet something and say we’ve got some student voice coming from our #ginwvikings Twitter account. Thanks to so-and-so, and maybe reference them. Sometimes it can come from a class or an activity, so we might reference the sponsor or the coach or something like that.
Vicki: Wow, you’re blowing my mind! So, our kids can help us with our biggest headache, sometimes – social media — through Class Intercom. Is it free?
Heather: No, it’s not free. There’s a little bit of a cost. But check it out.
Helping students develop their voice through digital portfolios
Vicki: Yeah, we’ll put that in the Show Notes. OK, so how else do you help your kids have authentic student voice?
Heather: One of the other things that we had done was incorporated some digital portfolios. I’m a big fan of having kids create those portfolios, and share exactly what they’re doing in the classroom, or share the great things that are happening.
So, Go Ennounce is also a tool that we’re using, where students are creating a digital portfolio, sharing their accomplishments, and sharing their awards, short little video clips – they can do that. Then when it comes time to do scholarships or when they’re applying to a college, they have a one-stop shop of something to share with employers, coaches, colleges. But it gives that one-stop shop of something to have.
Each teacher has a different platform of something that they’re using to have students curate content or curate things, whether it’s a paper or a blog or whatever they’re doing. We really work to make some seamless, integrated opportunities for students so that when they are seniors or even juniors, and they’re applying for those jobs or things, they have something to share.
So, Go Ennounce is another platform that we are using for that. That’s again, high school students.
Vicki: So, I have my students build a personal website. They’re including those on their college applications. And it’s making a difference!
Go Ennounce – does that let the kids’ content be shared publicly?
Heather: No, it’s actually private. What the students do is have control over where they can share it.
So, if I was going to work with you, Vicki, and I’m a student, I would share that. It would say, “Heather Callihan has invited Vicki Davis to view her Go Ennounce portfolio.”
When the time comes, if I decide that’s not the route I’m going, I can take that privilege away from you. I can send you the invite to look at the portfolio, but I can also revoke it. So students are sharing it with teachers, so then again, it creates those authentic opportunities for students to build their online presence.
The importance of building a positive digital presence
Heather: I’m sure I’m preaching to the choir here, but we know how important it is for students to build that online presence in a positive way. And so as teachers we work to model it, but I feel like there’s so much preaching. You should or shouldn’t do this and this and this – But any time that we can provide that opportunity to show them and coach them as they build a portfolio, or as they build their online presence, it’s key.
Fear of involving students and how to overcome that fear
Vicki: So, Heather, as we finish up, we have time for one more idea, or one more encouragement to teachers to help students find their authentic voice. What is yours?
Heather: I think in education we need to not be afraid of… I think the “F” word gets in the way. The Fear word gets in the way. We’re afraid of what students are going to post, and what students are going to do. We just need to empower them and provide those opportunities, because fear isn’t going to get us anywhere. It’s not going to help the students learn.
Just like in any sport, we coach our kids through the activity, we coach them in their technique so the digital citizenship or creating that online presence isn’t any different. I just think that online presence is so important. As teachers, administrators, school officials, we just need to continue to provide those coaching opportunities in whatever way, and however it looks.
Vicki: Now we’ve gotten so many fantastic ideas to help students find their voice. What I love about these is that these are very practical ideas.
Heather, you have told me about two new things I’ve never heard about before, so you know, we all learn when we talk to each other about what’s happening in different places.
I am going to be checking out Class Intercom and Go Announce. Two cool new tools. We will actually put links to them in the Show Notes and in the transcript.
So get out there and be remarkable. Let’s let our kids help us with social media for a change.

How big an issue are influential unverified Twitter accounts?
Summary
On 30th August 2017 the Times ran a front page article saying "evidence suggests" the Twitter account @DavidJo52951945 (now @DavidJoBrexit) is "a suspected Russian troll posing as a UKIP supporter". Doubt has been expressed about the accuracy of this conclusion by a number of commentators.
Either way, evidence does point to this account being significant within right wing communities on Twitter. And the identity of who's behind the account remains unknown (at the time of posting).
Twitter operates a "verified" programme which confirms the identity of accounts. Obviously DavidJo52951945 is an unverified account
Research by Lissted has identified thousands of other unverified accounts on Twitter that, like DavidJoBrexit, have more than 100,000 followers. 26 of the top ranked accounts (1 in 5) in our recent General Election 2017 analysis are also unverified at the time of writing, four of these accounts have more than 100,000 followers.
Does Twitter need to take more action to ensure all influential accounts are verified, or do the benefits of less regulated social media outweigh the risks?
DavidJo52951945 and The Times
On 30th August 2017 The Times ran an article on its front page saying "evidence suggests" the Twitter account @DavidJo52951945 (now @DavidJoBrexit) is "a suspected Russian troll posing as a UKIP supporter". It was largely based on a Twitter thread by an anonymous account, @Conspirator0. @Conspirator0’s bio says they’re a data scientist.

— Conspirador Norteño (@conspirator0)
August 23, 2017
I highly recommend you read the thread to see the full analysis, but the main elements of the argument focussed on:
- timing of the account’s tweets being claimed to correlate to Moscow office hours;
- the flow of subject matter and messaging being tweeted over time;
- account username ending in an 8 digit number being indicative of bot or troll accounts (probably because it’s a format of standard suggestions when you create a new username); and
- the account being a key node in a network of 63,000 accounts with similar 8 digit usernames.
Here's the follower network formed by those 63099 accounts. Larger circle = more accounts with the 8-digit numbers among its followers. pic.twitter.com/gBAlS0Lttq
— Conspirador Norteño (@conspirator0)

Not everyone was convinced. Some examples being:
Alex Hern, Technology features writer for the Guardian expressed his scepticism in this thread
I’ve also been in touch with one person – a UKIP councillor – who says he’s met the man who posted the ballot picture.
— Alex Hern (@alexhern)

the account @hughster provided some alternative evidence in this thread
However, you might be interested to see how David Jones started out on Twitter: spamming an anti-immigrant petition. https://t.co/3q3XIjjCuA

and Mike Hind who first covered the account in the New European with this thread amongst others.
1. Since The Times did its Twitter-scrape story marking @DavidJo52951945 as a 'Kremlin agent' there has been an unfortunate consequence.

DavidJo52951945's influence
There is evidence showing @DavidJoBrexit is potentially an influential account. For example:
- he ranked 14th in our recent 2017 General Election analysis based on influential tweets analysed by our Tweetsdistilled application and featured on our @PoliticsUKTD account;
- ranks 5th in Lissted’s UKIP community based on the follower networks of over 500 of the top ranking UKIP related accounts (after Nigel Farage, UKIP’s party account, Robert Kimbell aka @RedHotSquirrel and Patrick O’Flynn)
- his tweets have been used to illustrate articles by MSM e.g. Telegraph, Huffington Post, BBC and (perhaps surprisingly) even The Canary; and (as of 4th September 2017)
- he’s followed by high profile figures including Eamonn Holmes, Leave EU, Kate Hoey MP and prospective UKIP leadership candidate, Anne Marie Waters.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile his bio and profile tell you virtually nothing about who he is.
None of this tells you if he’s a Russian agent or not.
But it does provide evidence he’s been using Twitter as a platform to build influence and we know virtually nothing about who he is.
Twitter verification
According to a recent report on The Next Web, there are around 270,000 verified accounts on Twitter. This is where Twitter has carried out various checks to establish the identity of the person tweeting. Followers then have greater confidence the account is genuine and it also provides some protection from passing off by others for the individual concerned.
Twitter initially only verified accounts relating to celebrities, politicians, top brands, key public sector bodies and some high profile journalists. It then began to expand who it verified and last year even opened up the process so that anyone can request to be verified, although that doesn’t mean they will.
Other Unverified Accounts in PoliticsUKTD GE2017 Analysis
DavidJo52951945 wasn’t the only unverified account to rank highly in our analysis of tweets in relation to the 2017 UK General Election.
134 accounts appeared in either the Top 100 accounts based on number of influential tweets or the Top 100 based on retweets and likes.
Of these 108 were verified, but 26 (including DavidJo) were not.
The other accounts were (followers in brackets):
- NHSMillion (227,616) - britainelects (156,560) - V_of_Europe (152,230) - JeremyCorbyn4PM (140,459) - davidallengreen (113,178) - ToryFibs (88,751) - ShippersUnbound (73,701) - AngryScotland (previously AngrySalmond) (73,061) - JamesMelville (64,877) - hrtbps (63,401) - RichardJMurphy (45,157) - Rachael_Swindon (44,554) - MSmithsonPB (43,455) - PickardJE (40,016) - AaronBastani (37,396) - mikegalsworthy (33,059) - imajsaclaimant (32,482) - RedHotSquirrel (31,677) - thepileus (31,145) - EL4JC (17,673) - DavidPrescott (12,002) - GAPonsonby (11,546) - ReclaimTheNews (11,283) - BrianElects (8,007) - DaveWardGS (6,806)
These accounts are from across the political spectrum. They include quite a number that are pretty obvious who they relate to e.g. Jim Pickard, David Allen Green, Tim Shipman (Shippers Unbound) and Richard Murphy.
But they also include a number of accounts where, like DavidJo52951945, the tweeter is either completely anonymous or there’s very little information about them that’s readily available.
I asked a couple of the most high profile accounts - Jim Pickard and David Allen Green - if they'd been approached by Twitter regarding verification. Both confirmed they they didn't believe they had.
Don't think so as far as I know

High reach unverified accounts
So we've seen that there are influential accounts that aren't verified. Even ones with a high reach of 100,000+ followers.
To see how many more we could find we searched in Lissted’s database of potentially influential Twitter accounts for any that matched the following criteria:
- 100,000 or more followers
- Last tweeted date is after 1 June 2017
- Not Protected status (so all their tweets are public)
- Not Verified by Twitter
- Have a time zone relating to North America, Europe, Australia or no time zone is stated.
- Tweeted at least 10 times.
As of 4th September 2017 this produced a list of 14,710 accounts.
At this stage I should point out that just because an account has a high follower number doesn’t mean it’s influential. And vice versa. In fact this is something we’ve been highly vocal about since we started.
There are many more accounts with smaller reach that we would consider influential as we saw illustrated with the GE2017 analysis.
However for this exercise we’ve taken this highly simplistic approach because it provides a degree of consistency with the reach of DavidJoBrexit*.
Statistics about these unverified accounts
In aggregate these accounts have:
- 615 million statuses
- 4.1 billion followers
- 0.7 billion accounts they follow
- 158 million likes
- Appear on over 14 million lists
Some example accounts:
- Highest followers @UberSoc 13.5 million.
- Most updates @reizonation 2.846 million. Average of one tweet every 1.6 minutes since the account was started.
- Most Likes @Khanoisseur 882,500. Average of one every 3.6 minutes since the account started.
- Oldest account @caroline joined on 14 July 2006.
- Newest account @PyrocynicalVEVO joined on 28 June 2017.
What sort of accounts are on the list?
There’s a diverse range of accounts on the list.
Celebrities e.g. @AlanCarr and @Daraobriain
Meme e.g. @GirlPosts and @SoDamnTrue
“Pics” e.g. @Earth_Pics and @HistoricalPics
“Quotes” e.g. @RelatableQuote and @GreatestQuotes
Cats (of course) e.g. @EmrgencyKittens
And a whole host of others including the four accounts in the GE2017 analysis with 100,000+ followers.
Many of the accounts will just be tweeting harmless content.
Many will be copycat accounts of the meme, pics and quotes etc. type above.
I’d guess a good number have a high fake follower quotient.
Some will have been playing the follow others and they’ll follow you back game to make themselves appear more significant than they are.
But are they all harmless? What if like DavidJoBrexit some of these accounts are sharing content of a more significant nature and their followers include a lot of real people who are actively engaging with the account and its content? What if some of those followers are influential in their own right?
In such situations is it important that followers know more about the identity, nature and potential motivations of whoever is behind such accounts?
Plus as I said earlier this is just an arbitrary list based on a simplistic follower cut off. As indicated by the GE2017 analysis there are potentially many more unverified accounts that are influential with less than 100,000 followers.
Lissted’s application has the capability of producing lists of these accounts, as I’m sure will some other influencer applications.
Does Twitter need to take action?
Twitter is demonstrably an influential platform.
If Lissted can identify accounts where verification may be of benefit then I'm confident Twitter has the capability to do so.
Twitter's verification activities have addressed a large number of high profile and influential accounts, but it appears from this research there are still a significant number who remain unverified.
There's an important balance to be struck here between the comparative risks and benefits of verification and anonymity.
As mentioned above David Allen Green, lawyer and journalist (and one of the most influential UK accounts on Brexit and legal matters in general), hasn't been approached by Twitter to be verified. He also hasn't requested to be verified himself. He was kind enough to share his views on verification with me.
"I have not sought a blue tick for three reasons.
"First, it does not cause inconvenience. The lack of a tick does not affect how I use Twitter. If this changes, and it becomes inconvenient, then I may well resign myself to getting one.
"Second, the methods I use to assess the credibility of an account do not include the tick. There are some outstanding accounts with no blue tick and some dreadful ones with one. I prefer to use peer recommendation, shared followers, tone of timeline, and use of supporting links.
"Social media can be egalitarian, and many good accounts rise by merit alone. Some of the best accounts on Brexit, for example, are under pseudonyms - but the content is verifiable and spot-on. A caste system goes against this.
"Third, blue ticks are a form of regulation, and social media is better when there is less regulation. Yes there is vile nastiness, but there are also valuable things being said every day which would not otherwise be heard. I am not suggesting there should be no regulation, but there is the risk that good things are lost when you try and ban bad things or impose a tiered system."
These are good arguments, but are they all applicable for the vast majority of Twitter users? Most users spend very little time on the platform and I wonder how many are as diligent and expert in their assessment of an account and its content as David?
If Twitter was to require all influential accounts to be verified this would clearly present some challenges where anonymity is important and beneficial.
There's also the question of where to draw the line on what constitutes "influential"?
And if influential account owners aren't prepared to be verified then should Twitter go as far as to consider suspending their access?
These are tricky questions. But when suggestions are made about the impact of social media on major real world events is it a greater risk to allow influential accounts to operate either anonymously or without followers knowing if the user is who they claim to be?
* This number is also restricted to accounts that appear in Lissted's database of 4.2 million. It's possible there are more accounts that would match this criteria that Lissted hasn't identified.
