so x-men 97 ended a month or so ago, I just finished last week and wanted to compose my thoughts.
the Bad
the soap opera level nature of the show is back and I get why it's there, but damn I was sick of the relationship drama when I was a kid, now that I'm 30 and don't care about any of the pairings in the show it's even more annoying. Except Romy, I love them, but could have done without a second love triangle.
Roberto's character felt weird and should have either been cut or been more involved with the X-Men as the new guy. He only really interacts with Jubilee because they intended to make them a couple from the start. There were better ways without just making them a couple or projecting it so hard.
I think 2 episodes were bad, ep 4 and ep 6. I personally don't care for the Shia'r or Prof X. The Jubilee stuff was fine but felt like filler which isn't really needed for a 10 ep show. And I don't think Storm's story was done justice.
Storm was underused. She's my favorite character and had a story about being depowered and getting them back that I thought started strong but didn't live up to the hype. Then despite coming back she doesn't have much plot significance and is just a powerful member of the team. Maybe season 2 will change that and I'm jumping the gun, but it felt like a waste. '
Morph was cool and I'm happy they are nonbinary in this show despite the writers keeping it in the 90's timezone. Not a huge fan of their character still though, I thought they were more cool with their powers than interesting as a character. Hopefully that will change in season 2
Magneto's plan by the end made no sense to me by the end. I know he was angry and pushed too far once more, but killing 7 billion people, mutants included. Yeah he made an offer to the x-men, but there are still hundreds of mutants that survived Genosha and he's putting a target on their back and they will also die without power. and he has 3 people in an asteroid above earth, what is the plan for things to continue
Also Bastion's plan was good, but I don't agree with the whole, people's response to tragedy that they don't care about is apathy. it's a hard world, but people care far more than you might think. It felt poorly written, like the show wanted to make all humans monsters so that's what happened. If the plan was to destroy Genosha and then let Magneto do his thing to get people to hate mutants because of what he would do afterwards I would understand, but it wasn't.
The Good
Overall, the whole series is a good adaption of the 90's series, warts and all. The love triangle stuff is annoying, but part of the show so I accept it and even the dumb puns made me smile. But the fact that they aged it up worked amazing, they blended seamlessly to me.
The action and animation were perfect to me, crisp and clear and dynamic. It let the characters show off what they could do in ways the 90's show and their restrictions wouldn't allow them to.
I liked most of the characters, Storm is my favorite character, Scott is my second, and Kurt is in my top 5. I mention that Storm kind of shafted, but Scott and Kurt were allowed to shine.
Kurt and Rogue's relationship was great, I'm glad that the writers remembered they were adopted siblings, I wondered after ep 5 if they did, but I also think calling each other sister or brother in the ep would have been awkward. The way they interact in later eps was perfect to me.
I like that people kept tell Xavier to shut up because I don't like him as a character. He has done so much shit and is still considered a hero in the comics, it makes him at best a naive fool and at worse the real villain of X-Men.
I like that Cyclops was so much more than the block of wood a lot of the fandom and even some writers make him out to be. He's a complex character and it's good to see that not only a deep character like he's supposed to be, but a good hero and leader.
I also like how the Cable stuff was done. like it's rocky and quick because they only have 10 eps but it was nice to see since Cable never revealed himself as Scott's son in the original show.
I love that the show wasn't just another version of the wolverine show. I like the character, but he's been over used and makes his appearances over saturated. He still had a presence in the show, but it doesn't make him the main character while shutting down other characters.
I will always love the family aspect of x-men, angry and fighting but loving all the same.
8 episodes of the show were great and I loved them, I would recommend it to anyone.
Ep 5 was the standout, and amazing. I loved how Gambit was portrayed as sympathetic and a good person with his relationship with Rogue and accepted that she wanted to be with Magneto. It was great to see him being allowed to be a badass as a swansong, even if I think he'll be death in season 2

hi starry!!! <3 i've been seeing so many stick men on my dash, and i've gotten super curious. the fandom wiki page answered none of my questions, so i thought i'll turn to the resident expert <3 <3 <3 whomst may be these characters and where do they come from?
RESIDENT EXPERT SJDLFJSKDJ THANK YOU I GUESS?? i'm just very autistic abt these silly sticks, i don't think i'm much of an expert
the stickfigures are from Alan Becker's Animation Vs series/franchise (calling it a franchise seems wrong but there's multiple series under the umbrella so idk how else to describe it) on youtube! i'm gonna go into more detail on that but i'm putting it under a cut because i don't know how long this'll get to be completely honest
also sorry if this takes a while to get answered i wanted to collect screenshots and visuals
So i'm not gonna get into a full play-by-play, mainly to avoid spoiling you, but the series can be kinda split up into a few different categories (the first two being the "primary" series of the overarching series)
ALSO the creator refers to all the sticks with he/him but a lot of people tend to headcanon differently (it's me i'm people) so i might use my own hc pronouns for characters. honestly part of the series' appeal is the fact that there's wiggle room for headcanons to emerge.
anyway! starting off with the og:
Animator vs Animation
animator vs animation starts off with the simple question of, "hey what if my drawings came to life and fought me", which is somewhat of the overarching question through the first 3 installments
the fourth one winds up turning that question on it's head by the end because of this silly li'l guy, The Second Coming (usually called second or orange by the fandom)
by the end of ava 4, second (and the friends they found on a website) have reached an understanding with the animator (who's also alan, it's a bit confusing but i try to think of it like mcyt rules where there's the creator and then the character), and are now friends with him. ava 1-4 were recently bundled into being animator vs animation season 1, i'd recommend you start with these four if you want to watch the other series.
ava seasons 2 and 3 (season 3 is currently ongoing) take a bit of a different turn, delving into the previously left up to question fates of the past three sticks that alan had made in ava 1-3, along with also dropping some bombshells of lore here and there. semi related side note i'm taking the chosen one and shaking them in a tupperware violently.
Animation vs Minecraft
this one is the longest of the different series, with 35 episodes (36 counting the original). it also pulls off the "mainly filler eps until everything suddenly spurs into motion" thing very well. it's also funny because the series started out named as "animation vs minecraft shorts" when episodes in season 3 would get up into at least 20 minute runtimes.
this series is where we start to get personalities developed for the four sticks that second befriended in ava 4, through the lens of different minecraft niches, from animal care to potions to redstone to noteblocks.
avm seasons 1 and 2 focus more on exploring the different aspects of minecraft (such as build battles), though season 1 does have a very brief arc involving this other stick, purple
(purple shows up in later episodes as well)
speaking of purple, if you're watching animation vs minecraft as a whole, make sure to watch animation vs leauge before you get to season 3 otherwise there could be a brief moment of confusion.
"but starry idk anything about minecraft-" THAT'S OK!! sorry for yelling i got excited. the series does a pretty good job of laying down the basics of the more complex mechanics before the stickfigures proceed to take it to heights that are probably not achievable in vanilla.
"starry what about season 3-" I'M GLAD YOU ASKED sorry got excited again. season 3 takes a hard pivot from "semi-unconnected episodes with maybe a few overarching elements" to "fully episodic adventures that will genuinely make you a bit emotional at times near the end". it also starts with blue going to find netherwart before the escalation escalates and trust me once you know how the season ends that seems so much funnier.
season 4 goes back to the less sequential episodes, just with a few status quo updates from the end of season 3 added in, namely the occasional addition of two characters from season 3 that people go feral over seeing included.
I'LL ALSO USE THIS SPACE TO TALK ABOUT THE ACTUAL SHORTS, which, as stated, are shorts that don't have a runtime over a minute or a minute and a half. they're somewhat of a mix between minecraft themed and being themed around other aspects of the series (there's one where the sticks and alan try to max out a clicker game, for example).
animation vs education
these ones are a bit less "plot" and a little more "hey look at this cool thing". the only character we're familiar with to be in this is second, and we essentially follow them going through these various black spaces exploring different educational concepts. right now we have avmath, avphysics, and avgeometry.
they all manage to be engaging and interesting even when the concept being explored reaches the point where you might not understand what the heck is going on (a big example for me being when avphysics started getting into more theoretical stuff, the sequence was cool enough that i didn't even care that half of it was going over my head).
i also feel like these are the ones that people unfamiliar with the series are likely to find? at least when i mention the series usually if someone's heard of it it's cuz they've watched avmath or avphysics.
even though these don't seem to have any connection to the main series (though a lot of people hc that they're second's dreams), i still recommend giving these a watch if for no other reason that they're really cool!
influencer arc
this one's the newest bit added to the umbrella! it's a 3-episode arc about one of the sticks, green, making a youtube channel with his friends and also exploring adobe products. we only have one episode of this so far, and it was funny because everyone was literally going feral over it when it released.
this one's also fun because there's an actual youtube channel for green, so you can see the full version of the videos they make in the episodes! the channel was leaked before the episode release so everyone went feral over that then too. the videos on the channel are very much "kids messing around with a camera" vibes.
the one-off eps
there's quite a number of these that explore different things, like animation vs youtube, where second and green manage to tick off a video player, or the team trees and team seas videos where blue gets the ability to grow trees and remove trash with money (at least in second's dreams). like i said, for understanding one aspect of avm season 3 (namely why everyone's fairly chill with purple when meeting them), i recommend watching animation vs leauge before reaching season 3, purple shows up there.
if you want me to go more in depth about the characters themselves (with some of my headcanons bleeding through a li'l), let me know and i can make a part two! i recommend giving the series a watch if you want to understand better but you'll likely want to break it up into more managable chunks
i also wrote most of this while on the bus to work
#animator vs animation#animation vs minecraft#tbh i don't know what else i can tag this with cuz i'm not about to tag every character i mentioned more than once#if you have any other questions i guess let me know?

You’re like the only account that I care about Ranma takes, thoughts on new Ranma anime?
Sorry for responding late but so far I really really like it!! I WAS nervous (and still sorta am) abt the pacing bc like..... How do you take 20 episodes (technically 21 but i didnt count the clip show) and make it 12... but so far it's done a good job of not cutting down anything significant enough to really hinder my enjoyment
I will say I am extremely frustrated w the state of the tv industry as a whole because as gorgeous as the remake is i DO like that the original was allowed to breathe. I know people go "but there was so much filler!!!" but i think its important to remember it was being made concurrently with the manga and you really HAVE to create filler if you catch up... but I also don't dislike filler episodes as a concept nor do i dislike the vast majority of the ranma ones or feel they're wildly ooc 🤷 i don't consider them "noncanon" (outside of the stupid ova where soun has illegitimate kids) i just think of them as events that occur between chapters. Sorry i didn't mean to go on a filler rant THE POINT IS I HATE THE 12 EP SEASON MODEL W ALL MY HEART. It works for short series and it would work okay for longer ones....if and only if there was a guarantee that it would get picked up for several more seasons
My fear is it'll either be a second incomplete anime or get the urusei yatsura allstars treatment of having the middle pretty much gutted just for the sake of being able to reach the end. I don't give a shit about seeing saffron if you aren't going to take the time to make akane's sacrifice really mean anything to the viewer. You know? Part of why it's such an effective gutpunch in the manga is because you're sort of in ranma's shoes- she has been there right from the beginning, you expect her to be present and involved, and you just assume she's always going to be there. When that's ripped away it definitely hurts to see how much it affects ranma, but it's also a loss for the viewer because, love her or hate her, you've spent SO many hours with this character by that point. I worry if you just.... take out huge chunks of the middle it won't have the same impact. I know it's a long series, but idk I kinda think if you don't spend the time then her death is more "oh no :( thats sad" in a way thats still real like mufasa or bambi's mom, but not the same as idk...... jack in titanic?
Also i'm torn on the line from akane in the second ep being changed where she's saying she doesn't want people thinking she's a pervert for being engaged to a girl to "i don't want people thinking i'm a perv who walks in on people when they're taking a bath" like.... obv i'm not mad they're trying to tone down the homophobia, and i don't have any faith a modern audience would understand that she has internalized homophobia she needs to work through- or that people in the 80s/90s were flat out saying aids was divine punishment so you probably didn't wanna advertise that you're lgbt... i totally understand the change and don't have a real problem w it but also i do think having to come to terms w the fact she's attracted to ranma regardless of the curse, if not (at least initially) BECAUSE of it, is a big part of her character development and i'm curious how an akane more relaxed from the start about being wlw is gonna feel

hello, i'm here to bring you more terrible ideas
You know how nearly every anime has one of those filler beach eps?
Well, picture this —It's LoP: The Beach Episode.
Everyone is having fun in sun in those old timey striped swimsuits.
P is just standing on the edge of the dock, watching everyone swimming and splashing around, holding an inner tub around him.
Everyone is like, "C'mon! Hop in! The water feels great!"
So he jumps into the water. But because he's a fucking heavy ass robot, he slips through the inner tube immediately and sinks to the bottom of the fucking seafloor. He probably doesn't know how to swim, right? Would it matter anyway since he's metal and weighs a ton?
Everyone's like, "Oh, no! Where did he go?!" and they start searching for him frantically. Venigni is swimming around trying to find Geppetto's puppet under the water with his yellow goggles. Like, I bet he'd make steampunk swimming goggles that looked just like his glasses. Anyway, it was his idea for a beach trip and Geppetto will murder him for losing his son since this trip was all his idea.
Venigni swims towards the dock where P jumped and dives under the surface of the waves one more time to search for him. He feels something grab his ankle and nearly chokes on saltwater from surprise.
But it's just P. He's just standing under the water fully submerged with like three feet of water above him because he's a short king and short peeps know how deep the water can get only a few yards out, amirite?
Since he's a puppet, he doesn't need to breathe, so he's able to just stand there underwater, slowly swaying back and forth with the current of the waves.
He obviously can't hear anyone underwater. They're yelling at him to just walk out to shore, but all he hears is muffled shouting and splashing. He probably doesn't mind sitting there on the seafloor, watching fish swim by or picking up seashells and whatnot, getting distracted by an entirely new environment. Like, "Oooh, what's that thing?" and it's a dead jellyfish with its tentacles rotted off floating by. "How strange and beautiful," because he doesn't know what the fuck it is.
I like to imagine that he gets so distracted, they have to eventually lift him out of the water with heavy duty hooks and chains like he's a ship anchor . He's got seaweed dangling off him, just like an anchor.
P spends the rest of his time on the shore making sand castles with Eugenie, who I like to imagine is sitting under an umbrella, sunhat on and mostly covered because she's Korean and if she's a Korean like me, hates being exposed directly to the sun lmao.
Also, I bet P would make some stupidly good sand castles too. He builds a perfect replica of Hotel Krat out of sand from photographic memory.
None of this makes any canonical sense, but I don't give a fuck.

ok so uh. here's my Big List Of Changes I'd Make To Bakuten Shoot Beyblade. off the top of my head.
s1:
be less 🤨 about some of the one-off teams. racism in beyblade is a whole can of worms that i don't feel super confident in talking about overall (seeing as how i am well. very much white) but at the very least there's a couple things that stand out as questionable and this is definitely the easiest fix in regards to that
that's about it
v-force/2002:
WHY THE HELL IS EVERYONE LIKE NOTICEABLY PALER. give them some fucking sun jfc (this also applies to g-rev)
this is one of the larger ones but include atleast an episode or two showing teams from s1. in particular i'm imagining neo-borg early on (see ozma defeating yuriy in the manga), the ppb team during the america eps, and. ok i'm admittedly not sure how you'd work baihuzu and the euro team in there but whatever
psykick should not exist. make zagart be responsible for everything from the start and call him out on all of the fucked up shit he's responsible for
instead of doing a bunch of random goon episodes make them do silly filler things with Maybe a goon thrown in at the end
g-revolution:
rubs hands together. there's a LOT to go over here for starters either treat daichi better or don't include him at all. if you were to opt to remove him then have kyojyu fight alongside takao instead
i don't actually know what to do with the world tournament but it definitely needs a full overhaul. on one hand the character balancing was doomed from the start but also i do kind of wish team cybers was there.
on the topic of the world tournament remove tao entirely. we did not fucking need the "pervy old man" archetype in beyblade. who the fuck thought that was not only okay but necessary
MAKE BARTHEZ SOLDAT MORE RELEVANT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THEY'RE ONE OF LIKE TWO INTERESTING THINGS HAPPENING.
speaking of which lean more into takao's struggles with fame
let kai and yuriy be anything more than Edgy. let them have depth. please. (i know yuriy did get to have depth for a bit but in his case i mean during the world tournament)
ideally i think takao vs kai, and really takao's battles with all of his teammates, would be a showcase of how far they've come since the start of the series. call back to their first encounters, show how they've changed, all of that stuff.
and speaking of kai. oh boy. time for the bega arc. for a long ass time i struggled to think of a reason for kai to join, but i think i've got it. after not only his loss to takao but possibly other fights during the world tournament, kai genuinely feels like he's falling behind. volkov takes advantage of this and while kai ultimately knows not to trust him, he's desperate.
this then ties into his conflict with brooklyn. brooklyn is in a similar position to how kai used to be at the start of the show, albeit less uh. Violent. so, kai not only learns how to deal with his own conflict, but also helps brooklyn deal with that same inevitability of burnout.
also, remove the whole aspect of brooklyn not enjoying beyblading because i can definitely see why the beyblade anime would be hesitant to have a character quit beyblading because they fucking hate it. this also fully allows the moral of brooklyn's story to change from "just work hard lol" to "you will never be perfect, and that's okay."
god dammit this could also tie into takao abandoning what the media and public expect of him i just now realized this one IT'S ALL COMING TOGETHER I TELL YA.
you know the clip that's like "you're taking everything i say out of context to make it sound like i think coolsville sucks" and they cut it down to "i think coolsville sucks". i want more of that vibe
here's probably The most major change. the justice 5 matches? to hell with that. instead go for a hades city-style break in, allowing everyone to showcase their own unique strengths even outside of beyblading, and letting all of the main characters win their own respective fights.
and lastly, and this is the most crucial thing: cut it with that attitude of being Cool and Edgy. you are a fucking beyblade anime, embrace that! stop trying to act like you're Above power of friendship and silly spinning tops! have some fucking whimsy in your life.
oh also i guess like. acknowledge sacred beasts existing even if they're not really plot relevant. i kind of forgot about that
#i didn't proofread this i might've made some spelling/grammar mistakes but whatever#rat chat#beyblade#bakuten shoot beyblade

What are your hopes for the new BMFM reboot? Me personally I'm hoping we get the original cast of main trio. I also hope we get the backstory on how the bros met and became freedom fighters? No cat aliens, more stoker, rimfire and carbine.
Ohh I like your ideas! I also really wish the main cast stays, and that they'll flesh out the Plutarkians more and maybe introduce the "big bad" of the story that's even worse than the Plutarkians.
keep the episode format as the old one from the 93 version, but also have "filler" episodes where it shows the bro's adjusting a bit to Earth (Martians are a similar society to humans, but not the SAME, so it would've been cool to see the bro's struggling more in fitting in, kids being scared of them at first, people going at them with pitchforks until Charley helps them befriend the community)
Local human biker gangs having rivalries and befriending the bro's. Throttle, Vinnie and Modo became something of the "resident" biker gang in Charley's neighborhood, but there are always peeps not unlike the Pit Boss who challenges them and causes trouble
Charley's family checking in on her from time to time, surprise visits where Charley is freaking out how to either A) hide three huge macho mice from her old parents or B) introduce them as gently as possible to them (the ep centers around Charley trying to have the Biker Mice on their best behavior, dressed impeccably, but the lesson is that her parents only start liking them when the bro's are themselves and they saved Charley's parents from Limburger's evil schemes)
Rimfire visiting often or staying for longer periods of time, cue flashbacks to Modo's past, the past of Throttle and Vinnie in general bc we know next to nothing about their lives before they joined the Freedom Fighters
Carbine's POV before and after she has a video call with Throttle, how she organizes and trains the Freedom Fighters, her own struggles as a female war general
Stoker finding his place again as a tactician and strategist, helping the mice deliver and transport supplies. Coming to Earth to gather materials, wrestle with Throttle, Vinnie and Modo and flirt with Charley
Charley's friends coming over, one half being in awe of Martians and their culture and in general other species, while the other half just drools over the bro's
Maybe a potential love interest for Modo? Tho that's not really necessary (just since Throttle and Vinnie have one). Maybe a nice woman working at an animal shelter or so
Catatonians find some other planet to terrorize or one of Limburger's machines hits/affects the Catatonian's and they're turned into normal house cats and transported to Earth to never cause harm again. The end :P
Charley (together with a doctor friend of her's) invents a bionic eye that acts as a heat sensor and sort of replaces Throttle's field specs. Throttle requests to just "upgrade" one of his eyes, he's grown so used to the shades and he would feel like he cheated on his bros if he was the only one to get his disability completely fixed
Their bikes being more sentient and showing distinctive personalities. Lil' Hoss already has a name and a certain temperament, but Throttle and Vinnie's bikes don't really
New weapons systems, maybe the bros having secondary weapons they could fall back to if fists/guns aren't the answer
Limburger going on vacation for some time, but when he returns some other sleazy villain tries to terrorize the Biker Mice instead of him. He goes ballistic and teams up with the Biker Mice to drive out the other guy. He's the only alien that can cause havoc in Chicago!

The main reason a lot of people hate the season is because the trailers set up a different vibe than what we got. Which is true for the most part, all of the trailers had content from the first 3 eps, which did leave the rest of the season in the dark. But the other 2 season's trailers were kind of the same.
People didn't know what to expect aside from the fact that Din and Grogu are gonna be venturing around together. A looottt of people really wanted more of just the two of them. Nothing really showing that Bo was gonna have such a huge role in the season, and she's not the most liked character to begin with.
Plus, the story is a bit more iffy than the past 2 seasons. It's Star Wars so it's never gonna be 100% great dialogue or story-telling (Guns for Hire is a big example of that, I know its your fav, I'm sorry). At the end of the season, there were still a few major questions or instances that were left unspoken about and completely ignored/forgotten about. I've seen some complain about the pacing of each episode, but like you said, the other 2 seasons have Din doing literally nothing but side missions.
I remember a bunch of hate on 'The Passenger' because it was "filler" but that's one of my favorites simply because of Din and Grogu.
I've also seen people say they'll be happy with "just ANY more Din content" but turn and complain when they get Din content 😭 The fandom was really confusing this season.
Anyways, I enjoyed the season as well but I do understand the gripes people have with it.
Thank you for sharing! I'm gonna dissect some of this and it has nothing to do with you at all; I'm so grateful for you shedding some light on this, because I do try to distance myself from Mandalorian negativity as a whole.
The trailers setting up a different vibe has definitely been happening since the beginning. I mean, season 1 left out Grogu completely, so that left the entirety of the show in the dark going into its premiere. Season 2 didn't have any, and I mean absolutely zero, footage from any episode past Chapter 12. A similar technique was used for season 3 and honestly, I appreciate it, because it keeps surprises! I can see why it would frustrate people, though.
Bo's bigger role this season was something that was implied with an adventure to Mandalore. Anyone who's come to love the planet from the animated series knows that she'd have to be involved in a large way just given her and the planet's history. I also realized it when I saw the end credits of Chapter 17 and Katee's name was under "starring" with Pedro's rather than "co-starring." Again, though, I can see why it was disarming for others.
I personally don't see how the story was "iffy." Key word is "personally!" If anything, to me, it felt more cohesive than season 2 and in some ways more than season 1. Much of the fandom today wasn't around for season 1 when we got Chapters 4, 5, and 6 in succession and fans were complaining about each one being fillers and having absolutely no advancement of the story. Season 2 just had the same thing every episode for the first 5 episodes, with Din asking for information and being asked to help with something before gaining that information.
Season 3 had a lot less of that; Instead, the mystery of Mandalore remained throughout the season, as well as the question of who's going to lead and how are they going to retake the planet. Din had an arc (thinking of himself and his redemption only to becoming a true father and a leader), Bo had an arc (hopeless and unmotivated to the unifying leader of Mandalore), and even Grogu had an arc (reluctant Mandalorian foundling to a confident apprentice). The theme was said by Bo in both seasons 2 and 3: Mandalorians are stronger together. Each episode was a step towards unity; Din on his own, then unifying with Bo, who then unified with Din's covert, who then unified with the remaining Mandalorians to retake their planet. It was a beautiful story to me, honestly.
Now, Guns For Hire? Yeah, I'll admit, it's an outlier. But it's fun, and it still served a purpose. Let's not throw out the last 10 minutes just because of what happened in the first 30. It showed that Din is still a complex character with droid trauma and it had some fun prequel callbacks as well as cameos. It was just a fun time to be had before the excitement and heaviness of the last 2 episodes.
I didn't mean for this to turn into an essay HAHA but again, thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my thoughts on what people have said about this season! At the end of the day, all media is subjective, so I can see why people didn't vibe with this season and I respect it even if I don't really understand it because of my own feelings for it.

Ranking every ninjago season and why :3
(Yall are gonna 100% hate me for this)
(Spoilers for Dragons rising kinda)
I hate it sm, it literally could've been one of the best seasons in ninjago history, but there was WAY too much filler and was so underwhelming and predictable. Didn't even feel like a Zane season during the second half it felt more like a Lloyd season. ALL of the ninja should've fought Zane + Pixal, and she should've come as well. AND THE FACT THAT ZANE'S TRAUMA WAS NEVER BROUGHT UP. LIKE HUH????? I will forever hate this season with a passion no matter what anyone says.
18. Forbidden Secrets of Spinjitzu
17. Prime Empire
I really can't care for it at all it just feels like the ninjago writers ran out of ideas(which I completely understand, but still) you could literally skip the entire thing and the whole plot line would STILL make sense. The only time I genuinely rewatch this is if I'm THAT bored. Really should've stuck the to idea with Jay's mother running away from something(which they 100% should've done in the first place)
16. Skybound
Before yall come to my house and beat the shit out of me, HEAR. ME. OUT. Kinda the same situation with Prime Empire. You could skip it, and the show would still make sense. It's never addressed after the season, and all of it is just...wack. Nadakkan is a fucking creep towards Nya, like mf BACK OFF. And Jay isn't any better. He's constantly disrespecting Nya's boundaries throughout a majority of the season, and I do NOT understand how Jay fans justify that. And the amount of sexism in it??? I just don't like this season in general and would very much like to stay away from it.
15. The Island
It felt like it was just there for the purpose of being there. It's important to the plot the next season but I felt like that could've been resolved with a little b plot. Ik it's technically not a season but idc. That's it. Nothing else I can say abt it.
14. Crystalized
It had sm potential, but the second half felt so rushed. The first 12 eps were really well paced, but the last 18 felt like a whole other season. The entire ending was rushed, and it was so hyped as well. I was at the edge of my chair waiting and waiting but....nothing. I never really believed that Pixal was gonna die, but I 100% expected Wu to die or SOMEONE to make a huge sacrifice. The original ending wouldn't have been much better bc at that point, there would've been only 2 eps left. AND NO ONE BROUGHT UP THE FACT THAT ZANE DEFEATED THE OVERLOAD. NOT EVEN LLOYD???? "Third time's the charm," MF ZANE DEFEATED HIM THE THIRD TIME FOR WAY LONGER THAN YOU DID AND NOT EVEN THE OVERLOAD MENTIONED IT LIKE WHAT??? AT LEAST REFRENCE IT OR SUM.
13. Hands of Time
To get something out of the way, the animation reminded me of Miraculous Ladybug.(IM SORRY) The season felt odd but in a good way. And knowing that Pixal was in that Samurai X suit makes her personality in s7 10× more funnier. I don't hate it but I don't love it at the same time. It's a 50/50
12. The Pilots
Since it's the start or it all, it's going to get a decent ranking. I really like it and it did just fine for a pilot ep(s) But other seasons are just better :3
11. Master of The Mountain
It's a really nice season to get back at I fricking LOVE the little flashback of Cole's mother. But at the same time it's a bit forgettable.(don't come for me) That's it. :3
10. Legacy of The Green Ninja
One of the classic seasons. It's good enough to make it to the top 10. This was where ninjago was originally supposed to end. Its really nice and seeing Lloyd battle his dad was sad :,) All the episodes are really fun and entertaining but other seasons are just better :3
9. Rise of The Snakes
The first season of ninjago where it all truly started. Much like s2 all the episodes are really entertaining. It's really heartwarming to watch all the ninja grow up and change throughout the rest of the seasons. It's always a classic you can come back to. But other seasons are still just better
8. Possession
It's a really nice season and the pros outweigh the cons but I really don't like Morro(atp yall finna hate me) He's like Kai if his "I'm supposed to be the green ninja" phase never left. His redemption arc was so fricking boring and forgettable that I don't even REMEMBER what happened and i'm too lazy to go back. But the episodes are also really entertaining and a bit funny.
7. Rebooted
TOO MANY PPL DONT LIKE THIS SEASON AND IDK WHY. Okay the love triangle was extremely unnecessary and didn't help progress the plot at all. But all the good really outweighs it. It's the birth of the best Canon ship(which is pretty much all I post abt here) Really entertaining. AND HAS ONE OF THE BEST SCENES IN HISTORY. Ik yall were in TEARS after the last ep.
6. Dragons Rising
It's a really well paced season and MASSIVELY improved from crystalized. THEY ACTUALLY GIVE ZANE A PERSONALITY AND I AM HERE FOR IT. It gives off a really well based story, and it's really entertaining. Ik a majority of Jay fans were upset bc he only got like 14 seconds of screen time if that, but with everything going on and at that point there were 3 eps left. The story pacing would've been extremely rushed, so I'm kinda glad that happened. Nothing else to say.
5. March of The Oni
Really great season. Just really hits you in the feels. Nice season you can always rewatch. I love the Pixal/Cole/Zane interaction in the first ep really funny. The rest of the season is pretty self explanatory
4. Tournament of Elements
This season is one of the best in the show. Like S10 it's pretty self explanatory. Introduces us to a bunch of new concepts. GARMADON SACRIFICING HIMSELF WAHHHHHHH. The only thing I genuinely have a problem with is the Zane amnesia part. I really wanted it to last the whole season like make Zane have little flashbacks bit by bit. That could've been really interesting. The rest is amazing.
3.Sons of Garmadon
SO MANY PPL WHO STOPPED WATCHING AFTER THE REDESIGNS MISSED OUT OMG. It's so good. Good characters. Good villains. Good story concept. GREAT execution. Just mwah. Crystalized kinda ruined Harumi's arc. Like I would've been fine if she stayed dead. HER ARC WAS PERFECT. I love her sm. Also has one of the best outfits/weapons. THE REDESIGNS DID THEM JUSTICE THEYRE SM BETTER THAN THE OLD ONES(don't find me pls.) It's great would recommend :3
2. Seabound
ONE OF THE BEST SEASONS JUST MWAH. Nya's arc was really nice, and her merging with the ocean pulled on my heartstrings istg. HER INTERACTIONS WITH HER MOTHER JUST...*cries forever*
1. Hunted
MY FAVORITE SEASON OMG EVERYTHING ABT IT IS FUCKING PERFECT. The music. The characters. EVERYTHING. Has one of the best intros in ninjago. I love how Lloyd was trying to cope with his friends being "dead" and being so relieved that they're actually alive. The designs are so good. The story progresses really smoothly and just...*chefs kiss*
Okay bye now.

After rewatching both ATLA and TLOK recently, here's my tierlist! Completely subjective!!
I may be harsh on tlok, but it is how I felt. 10 years have passed since its completion, and I'm still disappointed in many things. At least it has a great and complex main protagonist who can face bad writing and still be great, phew... When it comes to the seasons, book 3 is the best one imo, its constancy and dynamism were great and the finale was insanely amazing! BUT I appreciate the good side of book 1 waaaaaayyyy more because it's so refreshing and captivating, but since its finale and a few other things bother me so much, it's below book 3 unfortunately. Also I liked the probending stuff and always will!!!! Book 4 was overall bad imo BUT I appreciated a few things in the beginning (the second half of the season was awful though, that's why it's that low in the ranking). And book 2 is a failure in everything... like, it's scandalous. I can't name any good thing coming from it, even the origins of the Avatar that I can't see as something connected to atla. Overall, tlok had a lot of timing and writing issues, and even with great qualities, its flaws are too big not to notice, even a decade later, and it is what it is. It brought many things to the Avatarverse, but at what cost... At least there's Korra ig.
On the other hand, atla was built beforehand and it shows. Even though there's a bunch of filler episodes in the series, they always (except great divide lmaooooo) have a connection to the main plot at some point, and that's what made them enjoyable, even though sometimes they could've just showed us an empty wall, I would've had a similar feeling of enjoyment looooool, but that's a part of the whole package I would say, and realizing most of the time that it had a bigger purpose, it's satisfying in the end. This show started almost 20 years ago and it's still so good and relevant to this day. Book 2, from Toph's appearance to the finale, is a flawless ride. Book 1 has the 3rd place because it was more childish and has lots of filler eps, but it helped build the Avatar World and it was cute too so it's still pretty good (and the finale in the North Pole is amazing). Book 3 and its finale have a special place in my heart but there were a bunch of forgettable episodes and subplots, especially for a more serious season that marks the end of the series, so that's why it's below book 2, but it's a stunning season anyway and watching it again made me emotional a bit.
In conclusion, I know tlok had a lot of issues cause it wasn't meant to be a 4-season show in the first place (that's why book 1's animation quality is out of this world btw) and that Nickelodeon tried to sabotage it by giving a high budget for the other seasons because ppl were hyped and then taking it back cause they couldn't promote it properly and gave little to no time to the staff and other stuff, but this is what has been given to us, and it's still there, so I gotta be honest with my feelings. Also, even though a lot of people worked on both shows, the episodes' writers are quite different from one to another, and the same creators being on both shows don't guarantee the same way to create and write the episodes (besides, even their own mentality can change, AND BY THE WAY IT ACTUALLY CHANGED FROM TLOK BOOK 1 TO BOOK 4). In my case, I like atla's writing team better tbh and I do think they had a huge impact on the way the story has been told.
And finally, I think that if tlok wasn't atla's sequel and had its own universe, it could've been a better show. Here I said it. Atla feels like a brake on tlok at some point.
I won't go deep into shipping, animation studios, plots, villains, etc in this review cause it can be too long and pointless. I suppose everything I said above is more than enough.
#tlok#atla#opinion#it has been a bumpy ride#funny how atla book 2 is first and tlok book 2 last#and book 1s on the same spot

1072, 1073 and The Gear 5 Release: Thoughts and Discussion
Guys do we all agree that episode 1073 was pretty bad? WE DON'T EVEN GET TO SEE WHAT LUFFY WAS SUPPOSED TO DO IN THIS EPISODE?? AND THE NEXT EPISODE WILL BE A FUCKING FILLER??? Do not mess with me rn. I like Gear 5 and the animation was really good most of the time but goddamn Toei really ruined the hype for this and made a mess of it. Hype aside, they did a lot of stuff wrong with this release which any normal viewer can genuinely tell at first glance. All this even after Toei hyped it up to extreme levels and made us feel like God himself would come down to Earth and animate Gear 5.
There is no way anyone can look at this rollout and say that it was well done. I don't give a shit about how it is compared to DBZ or DBS or whatever other series, but it literally just disappoints by any objective standards you can have for anime at all, y'know? It just feels like a bunch of lost potential, especially after such amazing eps like 1071 and 1072 (even if 1071 itself was a bit of a mixed bag).
Like, I know that they can't do anything other than adapt the manga chapters, but c'mon. The anime can take some liberties with the source material. That's the point of the anime. I just feel like they actually de-hyped(?) the source material even more with their liberties.
I know it might sound whiny or entitled, and I know the team probably put a LOT of effort into it, but I just can't help but feel a little frustrated by this kind of release schedule and pacing. Toei has usually done justice to the big moments of OP despite their issues, but this release just felt off. The other Gears were hella hyped at the time as well, and everyone loved their anime adaptation, so it can't just be a matter of hype setting expectations too high. There are several issues even if you look past the hype aspect. What do y'all think about the G5 anime adaptation overall?

i haven't even finished the ATLA show yet (i'm honestly not enjoying it all that much so i'm going very slowly) but your tags on that post about filler reminded me that i HATE how they shoved so many things like the mechanist, jet, the cave of two lovers which i guess is the cave of two siblings now, and more ALL together into two episodes taking place in omashu. it feels so rushed and takes away from the sense of adventure that the original had, in my opinion.
BIG agree! I've been rewatching the original series to cleanse my palate of the live action series and everything just feels bigger and more fun than what we got from Netflix. I PERSONALLY don't love live action remakes because I think animation is an extremely valid and unique medium that live action can't capture (I feel like a majority of my followers will agree with that), but I had to check out ATLA just to see what was up and because I loved the original so much.
I've seen a bunch of tiktoks of the actors hanging out and having great chemistry, but somehow, all that disappeared in the actual show. While yeah, some of the kids need more acting experience, I think a large part of what made it so bad was having only 8 eps for S1 when the animated show had 20, the directing and lighting made things feel flat AND Dee Bradley Baker no longer voiced Momo. Also, why'd they put Secret Tunnel in S1??? It's an S2 ep! You only have 8 eps and you didn't choose any of the bountiful stories from S1??? Weird.
Idk. I have a hard time unscrambling my thoughts and articulating critiques, but the heart of the show was gone. Aang was an entirely new character, Katara's fight with Pakku felt low stakes, Sokka felt more like a version of him you'd meet and greet at a theme park, Suki was awkward instead of badass, and Zuko didn't feel as confident/stubborn.
I do know how much work goes into making any type of show, and I do think that the cast and crew made the best of what was given to them by Netflix and their weird standards. I just don't think ANY remake of ATLA will ever stand up to the original.

X-men 97 season finale/show review
Okay I am officially caught up. Saw all the eps... so I'm gonna give my review/opinions. So spoilers ahead.....
Warning....

So warning if you don't like my opinion don't read....

....................................................................
Last warninggggg..........

............................................................................
............................................................................................
Okay first on the eps. Ep 6 was okay, a pretty good filler. Not gonna lie tuned out of Xavier's bit. Not that it was boring, its just we all saw it coming. Gotta give Xavier a reason to leave/come back to work.
Did enjoy how in "class" he gave Deathbird an apple and told her "we raise our hands". Her sitting there like a kid bored in school. I AM curious on if they're gonna bring Vulcan aka the third Summers brother into the mix. Though if I'm gonna be blunt on memory... the show never did bring Havoc, sibling wise into the mix.
That I do have to say X-men Evolution attempted to do and give the Summers family some connection. Lets hope 97's writers will try to do the same and give Scott some connection with family.
Then we have more importantly Storm's part. I enjoyed her ep. Her transformation and regaining powers was just the best part of the moment. Welcome back Queen ;) .
Then we have ep 7 also okay. Had me on my toes story wise. Any take aways... uhhh.... enjoyed the cameos. Though after watching Rogue tear up Ross's place. I think he might wanna rethink the powerhold/or fortress? if she can tear up things.
I have thoughts on the Madelyne/Jean/Cyclops/Wolverine? thing but I'm gonna save my thoughts on the romance drama for the end cause I feel the writers dragged them a bit too much into the shows.
While I'm not entirely shocked that Rogue went on a rage like she did. I have mixed feelings on her killing Trask for several reasons. One, he actually seemed remorseful. Not like Gyrich, feel it would had been more impactful had it been him.
Secondly... nobody attempted to stop her. Now I get why Wolverine didn't stop her. Not to be so crude but he's basically the go-to character with killing. Just I dunno, considering Nightcrawler is "peaceful". He or Jean should have ATTEMPTED to stop her. I know we've all chalked it up to shock. But still feel any version/or comic version one of their instincts would have kicked in. But oh well.
Uhh... Beast/Trish reporter lady are a thing? I dunno... I know the series was clearly referencing their comic romance. But I'll be blunt the show didn't deliver on me giving a darn. Why? Cause its too fast.
I wanna say at most, Trish has only appeared two or three episodes. And its only been a span of two days at best. And all it was first ep was flirting. Then after Genosha they held arms? So... its impactful when he breaks up?... I'm just "she's been here two days I'm not really invested".
Same when she became a human sentinel (spoiler alert). He held her hand while resting and I'm just still not worried. Even if Trish comes back... their romance wasn't much to begin with. I do know that much from comics. She was like anti Lois Lang. More into the story than being moral. So yeah don't care about Trish, sorry.
I am surprised to see how Marvel/or writers are taking advantage of the streaming service. I'm watching murder, genocide, and I watched a full on murder scene by Bastion. Just whoa.
Hey even the scene with him shaving Magneto felt chilling. Streaming is giving them a much more edge, I'll say.
Now onto the bigger thing eps 8-10. Part 1 (episode 8), was very good with their animation. A LOT of good fight scenes. I mean I give so much kudos to the animators. Every fight scene was amazing to watch.
Story okay. A few nitpicks. One the Summers family. Don't get me wrong, I did LOVE the team up. They were great. But I dunno... it felt forced that Jean automatically takes on the role of stepmother/mother? to Cable. I kinda blame the writers as well on this one. It just felt a bit speeded. I do even remember in the original show, Cable did hold both in high regard. So I did know "okay at some point Jean will go back to Scott and become a mother figure to Cable". But the way they did it felt off.
Cause Scott never did get over Madelyne and its only been a FEW days. Not years, not months. Its been a couple of days. So it felt rushed that they've automatically gone from "I dunno where we stand" to "we have to stay together for OUR son". Our son?... Madelyne went on that whole shtick about being her own person. Going "No these are MY memories. I'M a person, not her copy". And they decide, "Okay Jean's her too. So Nate's her kid automatically"
Can I believe Madelyne and Jean share a psychic bond? Yeah, I can even believe thats why they can't separate their memories. Can I even see that after the smoke has cleared, Jean's viewed her as her sister.
I just find it so strange. That after all that gripping Madelyne did and how Jean attempted to understand her feelings. She's taking that "bond" as automatic... "Yeah Madelyne's me... so I'm taking the role of his mother." I dunno, if we cut this soap opera drama aside. Thats like hearing a sister go "okay my sister's dead. I'm taking her husband and son"... or other way around? I dunno either way its a mess and felt rushed.
My other nitpick... Roberto's mother just letting him be "arrested"? by the robots. Well their numbers in general. I did get the whole "chatroom" reference. But I feel they did a bit of a jump with the numbers of how many robots they made. I think a whole hometown (or whereever Bastion came from) would still be enough for the finale. But they made it like almost the equivalent of mutants. And I"m "hehhh".
I dunno feels like they did that for shock value. But even for shock, still felt a stretch. I mean what are the ODDS. Trish was secretly a mutant hater? I dunno too much of easy "oh we gotta make this shocking too".
Sorry back to Roberto's mother. Now just to make note, I'm not shocked how she behaved. The whole "lets keep this underwraps". Was clearly a ref to parents of LGBTQ in the 90s. But ref or not. I'm just "Okay so the rich people are upset about the two mutants?". Not the clearly flying robot people who come in and bark orders?
I mean even the most dumbest person would have just looked and said "Wait... are ya'll cops?". Those robots had no badges. But the mom's like "yeah .. he's a danger I'm gonna let my son go with the two weirdos who broke through my windows. Cause THATS more normal"
I dunno I think it would had been more effective if, the robots had just come charging in and made a scene, threatened the party guests. Jubes and Roberto save the day. But instead the mom kicks them out and chastises him for bring his "mutant problems" to the house with her company present. I think that would had been more realstic then the random robots acting like they're cops... though they have no legal authority.
But whatever, writers.
I did ironically like that whole monologue with Cooper. Her scene and Magneto's scene was powerful. Though... back to cameos... why is Doom helping? I mean I don't expect him to be a mutant alley. I was just "hey what does he gain from this?"
Then onto Part 2, uh wasn't shocked Roberto or Rogue followed Magneto. Felt Magneto was being a bit overdramtic with him being mad about Xavier being Lilandra. I'm "dude... he was dying to be fair". But okay.
Again, blaming writers on this. Though I'm not shocked Rogue went with Magneto... uhh because they keep dragging this love triangle. It felt more like she was just going to be with her very old lover. Which is ironic cause she's still grieving over Gambit. So its not that I don't believe her. Its more of the writers made it feel like the triangle was still there. Uhh not to mention part of her reasoning... she's all "I'm not gonna watch another die".
Thennnn why are you following someone who will kill your teammates? I mean I'm sorry after all that fighting everyone got over all that fast. I mean maybe in part three they apologized off screen. But still... Rogue's so close to the X-men. I'm just surprised there wasn't a scene were she's all "Damn it Logan why did you have to do that? I didn't want this. And I don't want to lose anyone else either" or something along those lines.
But whatever the fight/climax scenes were good. Shocking but good.
Part 3 finale. As I said they got over that drama fast but okay. Loved Phoenix/ Jean's scene. Still feel a bit rushed, not earned that she's automatically called Cable's mother. But whatever.
Enjoyed the bar/mind scenes with Charles/Erik.
Again loved EVERY cameo. Nice to see they added MJ in there, show Spiderman does get his happy ending.
Was a bit surprised Cyclops kinda took the Xavier route at the end with Bastion. But I get it at the same time.
Fight scenes were amazing... not entirely shocked the US government shot at the asteroid. Mostly I just wanted to say "are ya'll that stupid? yeah shoot something that close to earth". Not gonna lie gonna tune out season 2, depending how long they drag the time travel eps. Time travel is not really my forte.
Do hope having Apocalypse at Genosha means they'll bring back Gambit.
Take aways... so SICK of Rogue/Magneto being shoehorned in. I don't care if its in the comics. Didn't like it then, don't like it now. I just barely tolerated it because comic wise, nobody's aged (save for a few I guess) since World War II. And I tolerated Kate/Immortal cause it wasn't as much shoehorned/or focused. And Kate's younger than Rogue.
But this pft. Sorry writers you're not selling me on this. You LITERALLY couldn't fin a character a bit older? Or even focus on Magda? No we gotta focus on this May/Decemeber romance. Gosh still feels like they're dragging on this for season 2. The look Magneto had. Like an awkward ex.
I just know the writers did Gambit dirty on this. And I suppose I shouldn't be shocked since some of the writers were guys.
Just gah, I rolled my eyes when we had to focus on Rogue/Magneto. Like Rogue was the only thing he ever loved. Now I could sorta understand why his children were blurred. He has almost no relationship with any of them. But I still feel like for someone who misses family so much, his children should be there. The "family I always wanted". Always out of reach, whether its his choice or not.
I mean for goodness sake we could have a Magda reference. Everyone's always stated she was his great, only love. They could have moved on that. Felt like a wasted possibility.
Though am hoping, we'll get a Polaris/father meet cue or siblings moment as well. Glad THIS version of Marvel has kept the siblings together. Yeah Marvel comics, still pissed you tore the twins away from Magneto.
Anything else... uhh Morph's in love with Wolverine? I know someone's gonna say "No he just took Jean's form to make him feel better". Maybe... but considering his update now. Doesn't feel like that. Feel like he's got a huge crush on Wolvie. I'm not entirely against. I mean yeah the voice in the old series made me question his age.
But unlike the whole Rogue/Magneto thing. Doesn't feel as cringey. Morph's older, I'm assuming. And hasn't been isolated or any of those "I'm in a vulnerable place". Depending on what the writers wanna go with that is really up to them.
I can see it going either way. Wolvie going the other way, considering Jean won't love him. Finding a relationship with Morph. Or unfortunately, Morph's in Wolvie's spot. Pinning for someone who just sees him as a friend.
Now onto the soap operaaaaaa. The big bone I'd have to give the writers is how they handled Jean/Scott/Madelyne/ Wolverine rectangle.
Now some fairness, yes I read the writers gave into the soap. Not excuse for rushing. Maybe the writers didn't know they'd get two seasons. Maybe they thought "we'll be lucky to get two".
But I WAS hoping, they would actually separate Scott and Jean for a bit. After those moments with Jean and Logan, yeah I became a shipper. So I thought "Okay they can break up". Given the mess, I was okay. Jean breaks up, says "I gotta find out where we go. Where I go?". She tries to find herself. Sees Logan will always love her and put her happiness first.
Her and Wolverine at least have ONE date, when Logan feels they're in a comfortable space. What happens I dunno 8B. I just wanted to see that.
Scott and Madelyne talk. See if things are genuinely there. Now I don't wanna say "base on comics". Cause comic wise... lol Cyclops has a problem with being faithful. I would just prefer they realize things won't work out and reconnect.
But we don't get that. Instead it all feels rushed and this was done in a matter of a couple of days. So all that drama/finding myself went fast without a development or ahaha moment to me.
Thats about it. Despite all my gripping. I do GEUNINELY like this show and recommend it. Its still good and a good connection to the original show.
JUST BRING BACK GAMBIT D8<. Other than that I don't have a lot of demands/wants for seasons 2 or 3. Other than a few small character suggestions I written earlier.
Wouldn't mind a Spiderman crossover. Considering their friendship in the comics. Would love another Spidey/Wolvie day out. Even bring MJ into the mix as a friend. Would love Nightcrawler and Spidey being buds as well.

Hello!
Sorry to bother you, but you seem to be one of the more informed Bleach fans.
So the thing is, since Bleach started airing its new anime, my Twitter feed has over-filled with it (apparently liking any manga/anime equals liking Bleach...) and the waves of IH fans, who seem to enjoy it exclusively through bashing IR. I know my first mistake is having Twitter, but the author of the absolutely fantastic manga I'm into is posting extra material there, so I'm ready to bear the consequences XD
Tbh, I've never finished reading Bleach. I think I made it to Fullbringer arc, but at that point, I've finally realized that I can just stop reading something that doesn't bring me enjoyment and for a while at that.
I did ship IR back then (for obvious reasons), but I have long since moved past Bleach to better pastures, though I still love the aesthetic. (And Rukia, I probably would've finished Bleach if it was at least 30% more Rukia, no Ichigo necessary XD)
But recently, I've encountered the post that discussed how Kubo himself didn't like the old anime. I remember fandom drama being large enough that it affected him, though I know no specifics as I've always inhabited the peripheral areas of the fandom.
So my question is, is there like a big meta post, following the evolution of Kubo's relationship with his work or just some large meta posts analyzing the events of those times? I definitely don't want to dive deep back into the fandom, but I've always enjoyed reading those large meta analyses.
Again, only if that won't be too bothersome for you, you just have a lot of interesting posts yourself, so I thought you may know something like this or point me in the right direction.
Have a good day!
Hi! To be honest, I kind of feel like a dinosaur in the fandom now... I've started reading it as a kid and joined the fandom when I was in middle school and now I'm in college with a part job but to sum it up, I've seen most of the drama of the fandom back then.
The thing is that the dudebros on Twitter who act like they know everything about B/each and what was going on in the fandom back then fail to realize the fandom was made of an overwhelming majority of IR shippers (and for good reasons) or just neutrals (who didn't really ship anything in particular) but understood IR's appeal.
But lmao, not the dudebros and these stans making up things to feed their own lies AGAIN when no, K/ubo didn’t have issues with the old anime, it was rather the “fan” who asked the question who was bitter about it from the way they asked their question. He supervied it and he even gave positive feedback, including this tweet about ep.342 (which features filler stuff made by the studio) where he said the episode was really pretty (he had also reacted to IR trending worldwide on Twitter back then while the anime episode aired).
K/ubo also said he was very involved in the anime in an interview in 2006, including the filler arcs for example with the character designs of the zanpakutos later on in the anime etc.
K/ubo also did say concerning that the H/ellverse and D/iamond D/ust R/ebellion movies aren’t canon (which makes sense, especially for H/ellverse after that recent Hell oneshot) but rather parallels to the canon story while Fade To Black IS canon (and the movie was promoted as “a movie you should go watch with your S/O" lol) so it tells you how invested he was in the old animated series. There is a whole thread on Twitter showing you K/ubo appreciated the anime, musical and live action adaptations and how IR were portrayed there if you want to check it.
Also, the “omg IR shippers are bullies and bad people!!!!” narrative which includes these accusations about IR shippers making K/ubo run off Twitter is FALSE (it happened 6-7 years ago), he deleted his account because a p*rnstar was impersonating as him there. SJ and him took legal action and that led to him deleting his account (he made a new account a while after), so it was not due to IR shippers and fandom drama as those people claim.
Apart from that, the manga’s cancellation official announcement from SJ was sudden which explains how rushed the ending was (well, at least the part where it doesn’t answer to many questions aka if U/rahara, G/rimmjow, N/el, Y/oruichi, I/sshin, R/yuuken were alive and some of the plot holes) but the fact it was that bad was K/ubo being petty and doing that out of spite because SJ cancelled the manga. I don’t know if you can say it’s a meta about his “relationship with his work” exactly but rather how his writing went downhill because he lost the plot of his own story: you can read this pretty interesting post (this blog has pretty interesting B/each analysis posts, including this one about the ending itself). B/each’s sales started to dip at one point but it got really bad at L/ost A/gent arc and and it got worse and worse after that because he spent way too long on unimportant plots and fights (the way we all way too many chapters with that fight of his favorite character against a giant hand...) while dropping important subplots/character arcs that had pontential such as K/arin becoming a s/hinigami (which was heavily hinted in the L/ost A/gent arc and which probably explains the fillers focused on her and H/itsugaya) or R/angiku having a piece of the S/OUL K/ING in her soul before A/izen stole it from her. He also got physically sick and tired of writing this story but SJ had initially given him enough time to end the story and what did he do? Waste time until SJ had had enough and made the cancellation announcement. You have a summary of that whole mess in this post.
The post-ending claims (from K/ubo himself and from those stans) about K/ubo planning the manga’s ending since the start (chapter 1) are also false.
K/ubo is great at characters design btw (though he had the same face syndrom at one point in TYBW when drawing his characters... especially when he was drawing T/oshiro in his bankai form) but as for the storytelling, he was only good if you stop at SS, after that... Well, we know how it went. It doesn't mean we didn't get good things from the following after that tho, it just means that things gradually started to go wrong until it became too much.
I hope this answer helps you to understand the situation better. Have a good day as well!
#answered#hidinginthebog#anti bleach ending#anti bleach fandom#those fans are so loud rn but lol let's not forget THAT poll from 2007 aka when the manga was at its peak 👀#also his changing answer about live action is funny but that shows how he can change his version on some stuff#b/each twt was a mistake bc the things i see there... that's why i don't interact with the fandom there#also v/iz post their own agenda with mistranslations etc. lol

This episode was an interesting one... Something was missing for me and idk what. It could be the zero dickkory which is actually fine in a way because I got it substituted with some Kory and Gar scenes which made me so frickin' happy.
It was also sweet that Dick was with one kid for the episode and Kory was with their other kid. I appreciated it.
But, let's bullet point my thoughts:
Sebastian is such a little bitch. Like are you evil or not, make up your mind, man. You're annoying af. However, I enjoyed May burning as gruesome as that may sound. She irritates the fuck outta me but I somehow also don't think she is gone? Idk, no one stays dead on this show so it's hard to call. It is funny that she calls out Sebastian for being a little bitch though hehehe.
Conner is... questionable. I just can't tell what tf he is doing. Like, I get he is trying to outsmart Sebastian but it's like bro why you think you gotta do it on your own, GOD. But, he wasn't as much of a douche this time round so I'm liking him more again XD. Though, when Dick was like 'Looks like the new CEO is on our side' I was like Dick, stfu you're gonna jinx shit and I still wouldn't be too sure in that either.
When Dick was all I have to make a long distance call, Idk why I thought he meant Jinx and I was like whut. Then after he mentioned dark magic, I was like ohhh. I'm assuming Constantine since black magic and British. XD Interesting that Constantine has been mentioned a few times now. I like it.
Guys... guys.... THE FUCKING KORY AND GAR SCENES WERE KILLING ME. I honestly love them. They are the best duo in the show, idgaf. They're both sunshine characters. (Unless Kory is on a bad day but overall.) They give me such life. Kory and Gar are my favourite characters as it is when it comes to Titans whether it be the show or the comics or the animated show like them two are just my absolute gems.
LMAO Kory punching Vic as soon as she walks in had me howling. I love how her kneejerk reaction is PUNCH to most situations. XD
I was sad that there was literally no dickkory in this episode considering we've now got two episodes left so Dick best be starting to lose his shit in the next one which I imagine will be more action packed. Also, I think that's actually more because I felt there was a lot for dick and kory in ep 8 and where there was an episode without them at all and then this week, that's likely why it feels more prominent but...
I didn't feel like this ep was very action packed like I know stuff happened and it wasn't filler but it felt weirdly slow for me? Idk if that makes sense. Idk. I don't feel the 'danger' aspect with this episode is all...
Anywho! It was so good to have Vic, Larry and Cliff in this episode! I wish there could have been more episodes to have like a whole episode just with them cos ugh, they're great. The tennis scene made me smile and it was a good vibe, despite them being trapped.
Vic's little heart eyes at Kory had me grinning like I wasn't imagining that shit, right? It was flirty and cute. This woman just attracts everyone to her. XD
Dick and Rachel's whole thing was... interesting? I guess? Idk, I got the point of it to separate Rachel from Sebastian but Idk. Dick was literally just running round the building with a not knife XD.
Also, it has to be said. The demon dude or whatever the came outta Rachel... lmao... he looked like something out of the original Evil Dead movies like he was a bit goofy, I couldn't help but giggle when I saw him XD.
I felt for poor Timmy with Bernard and I knew Bernard was gonna fucking download the game. I just knew it! Probs for research purposes obvs but I was still like god damn it man.
I think that's all the thoughts I had this week. The highlight through and through was Kory and Gar. I know a lot of people love the Dick and Rachel scenes but I think we've had so much of that in the earlier seasons whereas Kory and Gar scenes feel so far and in between. Maybe that's just me but I think they've defo shined the light on Dick and Rachel more in the past so it was good to see Gar and Kory actually talking and interacting. But again, it's likely me being bias. I've always preferred Gar and Kory moments to Dick and Rachels. Same as I prefer Kory and Rachel moments and Dick and Gar moments if anything because I don't think those other relationships got as much spotlight as they should have.
Lmao, oh when Vic made the your mom joke, I was like bitch his mother is right there XD. I mean, he has like 3 moms. Birth mom, Rita and Kory so yknow. XD
When Gar was like, "You know you can tell me anything." with his smiley face, my heART. I just really love their relationship. And now that little clip of him being like I think Kory is gonna sacrifice herself makes more sense cos of that conversation like Gar is obvs gonna catch onto it.
Overall this was a good episode imo but really it was the Kory and Gar moments that kept me invested, I won't lie. I will be clipping the moments together in a video like I did with episode 8 cos I need it.
Interesting to see next week's episode since its the penultimate one. Ima struggle so badly cos like I'm working a late shift so I'll have to fight to stay off of Tumblr or maybe I'll just give in and see spoilers. Idk. We'll see. XD

Thoughts on the 7th ep of Hypmic Rhyme Anima+. Spoilers beware
Season 1 | Ep.1 | Ep.2 | Ep.3 | Ep.4 | Ep. 5 | Ep. 6
I love the mindgames that these two factions plays its fun to see both of them bend over backwards to get the upper hands wwww
Rei knows more than he lets onnnnn though we all expected that www
bro just siad nah you'll play our games www check and mate assholes
i love how hifumi threatens TBH with a rose lmao thats so camp
damn we got our first onscreen death lmfao
Im so happy that jyushi makes sure that amanda is safe, thats so cute.
LMAO of course you gotta put some manzai in to this. ripp we almost got three deaths in one episode I love DotsuHon's comedic potential
is it the once is physical and one is memory? Eyyyy thanks kuko for saying that just as i was typing it www Thank you one piece for giving me that useless piece of trivia
I wonder if there really is any relevance to the small fillers they put in like gentaro fixing his coat and hifumi falling. or if its just silly character interactions. i feel like gentaro would have more weight/importance
genuinely how the hell are they doing this?? like the hovering the magical aspects?? is is just one mass hallucination? I'm so curious
LETS GO MAD COMIC DIALOGUEEEE NAUGHTY BUSTERSSSS I love how they're all separate into old times
I appreciate that all of them getting more or less equal spotlight but it does mean that animation is much more limited. I'm not mad but I do wish they got more budget to do more animation
not the selfiee lmfaooosdjkflha he's still on vacation
I love that they're spelling it out for us so clearly www
oh damn they're brainwashed too! and there's a overall big bad too. i guess not even TBH is the final boss
Ah. it is a mass hallucination it seems. or at least some sort of simulation
LETS GO NAUGHTY BUSTERSSSSSSSSSSSSS I adore this combi and miss their stupid boys will be boys dynamic. just frat boys being boys
LMFAO CHUUNI
Again slightly choppy animation animation but I'm not too mad
Waterpolo ripp i hated that sport so much as a kid www I also love how they only animated three members of the team with actual faces to save some budget
YO DUO SONG????? I AM IN AWE HOLY SHIT
Hm, don't like this song quite as much which is a shame. The animation quality is also going down a bit in relation to the other songs but the tiger and dragon imagery for ichiro and kuko respectively is cool
overall the mix of BB and BAT aesthetics in the animation is cool but the their song styles meshing just isn't my kind of music.
Damn its the BAT ending which does kinda mean to me that BAT won't get much of a time to shine in comparison to BB. Fair enough I guess since BB is more popular in general
Lots of hell imagery in the titles tho which is interesting I wonder if they'll go anywhere with that
