they’re both fans of hatsune miku ; upbeat was a fan because of her music, play-yan on the other hand… he may blast miku music from the sky.

follow up ; they have both dressed as miku at least once (in play’s case, people drew him as miku back in the day, and for upbeat is that one ievan polkka custom remix) and probably took a picture with a miku standee together (your interpretation)

they would sometimes watch smash tournaments together, but once they watch a tournament where their favorites/mains are up against each other, that’s a different story.

their first meeting was a chance encounter. upbeat was trying to find a place to calm down at night, which was in an unknown area in a forest, then play found him during a night walk. but little did they know they would be seeing each other way more often since that night

they never skip leg day.

a more obvious one, but once fused together, they could possibly resemble a stepswitcher because of their similarities ; play-yan as the light half and upbeat as the dark half. this also happens if they have a child together

play-yan would sometimes stop by the workplace where the other endless game / rhythm toy characters are. he gets along really well with love-san.

marshal has looked up to the both of them so much that he asked them for advice. he didn’t really mean to steal play-yan’s spotlight , but more on being inspired by him. play thinks otherwise, though.

play does NOT know how things in earth world works (other than basic things like doors and of course, balloons). he once went to the store without any money. upbeat notices this and buys him a snack and some soda out of spite

despite this, play-yan is a tech nerd. why else is he a media player /silly

transmasc upbeat and he/they nonbinary play-yan i don’t make the rules /silly

being miku fans, they also played project sekai before. play’s favorite unit is leo/need while upbeat’s is nightcord

play-yan is definitely a kirby fan. also mr. upbeat is canonically a fan of mr. game and watch

they had a chance encounter at a miku concert before. probably miku expo

upbeat has an apartment on the 4th floor with a balcony that has a good view of the night sky. play-yan makes sure to visit him every night (and when i mean night i mean 3 in the morning. upbeat doesn’t mind this at all.)

whenever play-yan doesn’t visit however, he just leaves those little heart flowers instead. maybe a yellow umbrella on a rainy day

they both have pets! play-yan has a cat (from the old promotional art for the play-yan media player) and upbeat has a bird (from the unused cuckoo clock rhythm test that became a base for the mr. upbeat endless game)

whenever mr. upbeat’s monkey watch is under maintenance, he talks to play-yan instead.

I will go with my current Top 6 (because I want to talk about a lot of my favs but I am lazy at the same time). If you don't want any spoilers, don't read my reasons why I picked the songs!

Shin Tsukimi from Your Time To Die – I would pick Not My Turn To Die by Micki Robyns-P. But is it cheating if I choose a fansong made about the character? Well, I think about this song when I think about him. But another song that I would give him is King of a Tragedy by Isak Danielson. The vibes and lyrics are pretty what I would is him. Shin Tsukimi, a King of a Tragedy. Doesn't is sound right? If we analize it more, lyrics tell about destructive relationships but you want to still be with that person and you hate yourself because of that. Shin's relation with Midori wasn't great but it was his only friendship then. This relationship influenced Shin even later in life, when Midori dissapeared on him. It affected his reactions and behavior during the death game.

Jinx from Arcane – Gasoline by Halsey is one of the one I can think of. (The other one is Get Jinxed made just for her of course, but I'm gonna pick some not related songs). I think she would cry and scream to this song. The lyrics hit hard and can be connected to her. I can imagine her tearing her throat raw with her singing, feeling it. Pouring this motherfucking champagne down the drain. That she feels like a hurricane destroying everything, jinxing exerything. The melody could be more agressive and chaotic, but it is nothing that Jinx wouldn't fix with her tinkering lol

Sans from Undertale – Kagerou Days by Jin. This song alawys reminds me about Undertale. I love it so much with the time loops and I know other people think this song fits Sans too. On youtube can be found a "cover" or more like reinterpretation of the song with Sans and Papyrus as the main characters. The desperation to save but not being able, even if the days are reapeting. I know Sans doesn't remember exactly the new resets and only has a feeling and is aware of it. But still living in a deja vu is horrible. He knows monsters are dying. And I also am a fan of the theory that Papyrus is aware too so the song is perfect for this.

Miles Morales form Spiderverse – Mother by Ina Wroldsen. This song makes me cry. And connecting it with Miles? Heart destroyed, emotions in shambles. He is so far, so away from his home, his world. The danger is so near and everyone tells him he should let it happen. It is hard to be a Spider-man, especially if you want to do things your way. If you want to save everyone you love and you try so hard, but things aren't always going the right way. I just know that he would love to see and talk to his mother. To tell her everything. So she could console him and make him feel better. So she could hug him and say him he is home.

Tenma Tsukasa from Project Sekai – Beat Me by Davina Michelle. Maybe it is my angsty side talking (I mean, every song I gave is kinda angsty), but I really think this song suit him! Tenma always will stand up and do better! Because he will be a Star! He will show everyone his worth with how bright he shines✨

Fluttershy from My Little Pony – Are You Happy In Paris? by SOLARIA and CharM-P. Another song really hitting close to home so maybe why I want to give it to Fluttershy. The vibe is so right. The melody words so well with her in my opinion. Lyrics kinda too. It is what I imagine would go throug her head after she fell from the clouds, thinking about Rainbow Dash as she was her only friend. But Rainbow Dash had dreams that were so different than Fluttershy's. This song also is perfect for my little AU I have only in my head <33

i've wanted mafuhona mixed event for ages but now shit's hit the fan i really really want a mafuhona event soon. it's about the Narrative Parallels. gimme something like Mafuyu accidentally leaving something out when she goes to SEKAI when Honami arrives and then Kanade and Mafuyu having to explain things to her. Honestly this could actually be good for Mafuyu to have someone outside her unit find out, especially since Honami will be able to relate and sympathise with her.

gardening club event! i want them to do more with the fact that rui is in gardening club bc i literally cannot remember it being brought up outside his initial card story. ichika isn't in gardening club but she likes flowers and i wanna see more of that. add on saki because she's the link between ichika and her knowledge of flowers and because i want rui and saki to interact more. throw in An too ig because she grows mint and then you have 3/5 of passion heart class and passion heart class is great <3. tbh this is just me coping because i really want a costume set with wellies and stupid shirts and dungarees. basically like the paint what you like set. but with flowers and boots.

The fact his fragment sekai is the only one to feature other characters in it... he loves his friends so much he created an entire world... i love him so much look at how far he's come

Back when Carnation Recollection came to EN, I offhand mentioned having a Kanade Emu focused event where Emu teaches K how to grieve (not that Emu's the best at that either, but she's doing her best). K deserves some love and light in her life, and Emu would benefit from not bottling her negative emotions.

Toya Mafuyu event where they bond over music providing an escape from a hard home life. That would be interesting. Throw a Tenma, Shinonome, and a VS in there for emotional support.
