Gotta say, now that I'm watching the dub to Bucchigiri, I think it's pretty good, and even tries to clear things up in the dialogue, though not to the high standard of SK8's dub since there's no real standouts like David Wald's performance as ADAM.
The closest though has to be Ricco Fajardo's performance as Matakara. I've been following his roles for a decade now, and I'm impressed by his range across the shows he stars in and he manages to demonstrate that range so well here. Inversely, it's Arajin's VA who's new to voice acting, since this is his first major lead role in a dub.
Also a shout out to Shindo's dub VA for playing his first villain role in years and just delighting in chewing the scenery. It really sounds like he's enjoying this.
Yeah I caught a few of the dub clips on X/Twitter and while I do think that the dub cast isn’t as strong as the ones in SK8 (I WILL GET INTO THE SERIES SOON I PROMISE BUT NOT RIGHT NOW), I don’t mind it as I rather let some new talents shine and see how they perform in the long run. Well most of them are names I never heard of with maybe a few exception (Senya, Mahoro, Akutaro, Ichiya and Matakara).
So I’ll give out my opinions on some of the dub cast:
Arajin (Alex Mai): He isn’t bad by any means. I do like how in Episode 2, he made the scene where Arajin is forcibly pulled by Senya funnier than the original. Can’t wait to hear more of his performance.
Matakara (Ricco Fajardo): I only heard him a few times as Matakara but it is decent. It sounds close to his performance as Pandreo in FE Engage but with a much more mellow tone to it. (I don’t know how would Ricco tackle Corrupted!Matakara but I’ll just wait and see once all episodes are up) It’s a shame he doesn’t even mention or like any BUCCHIGIRI?! posts when I felt that it was a pretty decent role he has (tho then again not every VA’s are chronically online)
Mahoro (Lindsey Seidel): She’s ok so far. But I do think her raspy voice when showing her spiteful side felt a little off compared to the original VA where she just lower a few octaves or so but it’s still an okay-ish performance so far.
Marito (Kieran Fullton)- For a new-ish VA, his performance for Marito is just as close to the Japanese performance. I like how he balances out Marito’s playful side but also his sneakiness in some parts such as in the scene of Episode 2 where he asked Matakara about Arajin’s whereabouts before he gleefully says he is going to make him join Siguma.
Senya (Chris Guerrero)- I agent heard much but he does seem to act out the best he can. The part in Episode 2 where he managed to perfectly replicate the performance in the original where Senya is acting like a meow meow is just 👌🏻
Zabu (Daniel Van Thomas)- I think he’s ok but I do have certain issues in that I felt that his voice felt way too deep for a 16-17 year old boy. Still, it’s a decent performance but I preferred the original better (Sorry 😅)
Komao (James Marler)- I think he’s ok from the few clips I’ve seen, almost as close to the JP VA performance but still having some few differences here and there.
Outa (Wyatt Baker)- Can’t say much tbh. (Sorry)
Jabashiri (Alex Hom)- He’s alright so far. I only heard a bit of him back in Apothecary Diaries so it’s a bit surprising he was chosen to play Jabashiri.
Hagure (Van Barr Jr.)- Can’t say much tbh but I do like some of his performances from the few clips I caught of him.
Akutaro (Aaron Dismuke)- I do like his performance as Akutaro, sounds almost close to the original as well esp in that clip in Episode 6 where he ‘thanked’ the whole of Minato Kai and Siguma Squad for being close to his goal.
Overall, those are just my thoughts on the dub VA performance.

October 2024 - An Amazing Month for Manga
Hey everyone, I've been out and about this whole month because of manga-related events.
I got a chance to check out Kodansha House, the pop-up experience that was in my home of NYC. And it was everything I hoped for. There was a lot of display of art from series like Akira, Initial D, Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga, Witch Hat Atelier, The Flowers of Evil, and Blue Period.
Not only that, there were goodies on sale, a bubble tea pop-up, 2 Initial D: Arcade Stage cabinets, a manga library full of Kodansha titles to read, and a 2nd floor for events with free concessions.
I got a chance to watch the Blue Lock: Episode Nagi movie to celebrate the launch of the manga spinoff in the U.S.. It's a nice change of perspective and it definitely pleased fans of Reo Mikage x Seishiro Nagi. The English voice for Yoichi Isagi, Ricco Fajardo, was also in attendance and did a Q&A about what he loves about Blue Lock and voice acting in general.
Before New York Comic-Con happened, I went to the Anitomo Manga Matsuri at the 53rd Street New York Public library and attended a manga publishers panel. Representatives from Viz Media, Yen Press, Square Enix and Kodansha all recommended titles worth reading in shonen, shojo, LGBT+, horror, series with anime tie-ins, and Spring 2025 picks. There's a lot of titles worth reading and I can't name all of them here. But popular titles like The Summer Hikaru Died, The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't Really a Guy at All, Kagurabachi, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi, The Apothecary Diaries, The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, and Dragon and Chameleon were featured.
There was some online commentary about The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity being listed as a shojo (it's published in a shonen magazine) and someone at the panel did raise a point about a neglected manga genre that still hasn't received its great moment yet (I might get to this in a future post). All in all, I enjoyed the intimacy of this panel as there wasn't a large crowd and everyone immediately felt the energy of talking about manga with experts that know it well.
And while I didn't go to New York Comic-Con, I did hear that anime and manga was front and center still despite major comic publishers not being at the event. A lot of the buzz came from Japanese-related businesses, so it's nice to hear.
Finally, I got a chance to see Makoto Yukimura of Vinland Saga fame. What a guy. I remember when Vinland Saga was first licensed here in 2013, not many people gave it a chance. Kodansha USA representatives at the time said the manga was struggling sales-wise and were relying on buzz to get new volumes published. Then an anime adaptation finally came 14 years after the Japanese manga debut and fans finally saw how great the series was. Yukimura was very chill and hilarious. He said he strives to be like Thorfinn as best he can. I got a chance to tell him that my favorite character is Hild an I'm looking forward to seeing how Yukimura ends the manga because the endgame is not too far.
Anyway, October was fun. I hope there's more Kodansha House events in the future in other places. Other North American metropolitan areas deserve a pop-up experience like Kodansha provided. It's an intimate setting for a community of fans that continue to demand the best from manga publishing folks. Everyone looked to have a great time, whether it was riding Kaneda's famous bike to dressing up as a Titan lording over a town to playing Initial D to reading manga.
I'll say this - despite manga sales not as high as they once were during COVID, manga is here to stay. We're still in a golden age of manga here. Enjoy it while we still can!

Probably a case of another Danganronpa voice actor getting into hot water.
//Hardly any of the VA's for Danganronpa really interact with the series proper anymore. The only three that I know sometimes do are Bryce Papenbrook, Erika Harlacher, and Brian Beacock.
//Brian Beacock would because Monokuma is one of his bigger roles, and when I got that signing from him a while back, he did the "puhuhuhu" laugh once I got it. I remember Ricco Fajardo was there as well, and Munakata was on his poster, but I'm not sure if he really remembers the character.
//The guy voiced Mirio Togata. That one role is huge for him.
//As for the other two, Erika does sometimes order commissions for her signing featuring Kyoko and Kaede, and she said on her Twitter that she was surprised when DR got a resurgence around 2020.
//And Bryce? He not only voices the protagonist of the first game, but also voices NAGITO, who is not just the most infamous character in the franchise, but one of the most infamous characters on the internet. That kind of role is hard to escape.
//Generally, and though this might be an unpopular opinion, I think the English dub is the best dub for Danganronpa. For something that they didn't really have to take seriously, almost every VA in the main series knocked it out of the park. I genuinely can't think of a single person who did a bad job with this series.

dear god what if they spoke
CREDITS 👇
SAMIR:
- dani chambers as dahlia hawthorne from ace attorney (anime dubs) (i wanted to find more clips of her but she hasn't really played any characters in samir's range that i could find and trying to find clips of her speaking normally was kinda hard so. forgive me.)
- yhara zayd in her video "hi, it's okay to audition, kthxbye" (i think samir would have a bit more energy in the way he speaks like dani but i really enjoy where her voice sits and the slight nasal, i think it suits him)
NOTES: i imagine samir has a little more of a scratch to his voice than they do naturally? i HAD another va to reference but i couldn't find the sound i was looking for from a character that wasn't fucking awful so. skipping that.
BERNARD:
- chris wehkamp as miles edgeworth from ace attorney (anime dub), aizawa shouta from bnha, and bradd from trigun stampede (i thought about it. there is nobody other than christopher wehkamp. he is simply the only option. also i included all the clips of him laughing because i'm gay and drawing bernie smile makes me haaaappy<3)
NOTES: he has a southern accent. i did not feel like digging through chris wehkamp's entire career to see if he ever played a character with an accent.
JOTCHIE:
- robbie daymond as dorian storm from critical role campaign 3
- sean chiplock as tian-liao lin from nekojishi (the lin & partners trailer)
- ricco fajardo as kotaro tatsumi from zombieland saga
- alejandro saab as soichirou suzuki from cheer danshi
- billy kametz as ejiri takekazu from re-main
NOTES: he has the biggest pool because those four motherfuckers sound so fucking similar i couldn't pick one. and robbie cos i'm obsessed with his voice and the way he performs. but yeah they're pretty on the nose for how he sounds.
#i was gonna put the credits in the video but i'm tiiiiiired i'm fucking tiiiiiiired i made fucking talksprites.#i needed it to be visually interesting. for me. and for you.#sorry for no captions as well ik i usually try to do them when i upload videos 💔#but anyway um. i care about this a lot. smile#ocs#samir#bernard#joshua#hh art#it counts i made fucking talksprites#this kinda felt like editting a rantsona which kept making me laugh but i'm glad i did it so whatever

My Review of Tomo-chan is a Girl!
How did I get into this anime? I’ve seen this advertised on Crunchyroll weeks before premier and a few hypes elsewhere. Okay, let’s see what you’ve got.
Tomo Aizawa has been best friends with Junichiro Kubota (or Jun for short) for years. They attended many schools together and were bros for the most part. Once high school came around, things changed for Tomo. She seems more worried about being seen as a girl and has developed feelings for her long-time friend Jun. Tomo even said, “I love you” in the first minute of this anime to Jun. And all she got in return was a, “Ah, I love you to bro”.
Jun is a dumbass! It’s clear that he wasn’t aware that Tomo was a girl for the longest time. It was probably in middle school when she wore a girl’s uniform. Despite that fact, Jun still treats her like one of the guys…which also includes butt-slapping. Jun really should think twice about slapping anyone’s ass.
When I saw him slap Tomo’s ass, my mind went straight back to an old King of the Hill episode. It didn’t end well for Bobby. But I digress! Tomo, I doubt this meat-head will ever see you as a love interest, let alone a girl. We have about 12 or 13 episodes to see if this changes for the better.
BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: Holy shit! Same day dub? You’ve gotta be yankin’ me! Okay Crunchyroll, you’ve upped the game yet again. We haven’t been treated to this since the days of Space Dandy. And another rarity these days, the English cast actually sings. It doesn’t happen that often nowadays, but we did get Lexi Nieto sing karaoke in the dub. That was actually comical. That whole scene was. Good job Nieto! Before I go to the cast, something surprising happened in the cast.
A RARE OCCURRENCE: So, I’m about ready to eat my hat when it comes to this. Back when I reviewed Love Live Nijigasaki, I was pretty vocal on the fact that the fans wanted Mia’s Japanese seiyuu to voice Mia in English. I snarked and said it would never happen. Jump to this anime and holy shit, we have someone voicing the same character in both Japanese and English. Even though it is very rare, it has happened before in the past. I’m not including Pokemon here because it should go without saying that Ikue Ootani as Pikachu is a staple everywhere.
Sally Amaki voices the ditzy blonde friend Carol. Because I had the privilege of watching this anime dubbed, I got the chance to hear Sally in English. Hearing her felt weird yet somewhat familiar. I think it was mostly me trying to pinpoint who is actually voicing her. I didn’t figure out that it was Amaki until like six weeks later. The familiarity was because I had heard her once before. It’s because she was a member of 22/7. Damn, I knew I heard her before. Sally Amaki is someone I expect to hear more from in the future. And the fact that she’s fluent in English surprised me. I mean, REALLY fluent! Okay, that’s enough gushing over this. Here’s the cast.
JAPANESE CAST: *Tomo is played by Rie Takahashi (known for Emilia on Re:Zero, Megumin on Konosuba, Sumi on Rent-A-Girlfriend, Mash on Fate/Grand Order, Ena on Laid Back Camp, and Shino on Girlfiend Girlfriend)
*Jun is played by Kaito Ishikawa (known for Kiawe on Pokemon SM, Genos on One Punch Man, Naofumi on Shield Hero, Iida on My Hero Academia, Sakuta on Bunny Girl Senpai, and Rokudou on Rinne)
ENGLISH CAST: *Tomo is played by Lexi Nieto
*Jun is played by Ricco Fajardo (known for Tatsumi on Zombieland Saga, Mirio on My Hero Academia, Sakurai on Uzaki-chan, Natsuya on Free!, and Kyousuke on Danganronpa)
FAVORITE CHARACTER: Misuzu…my girl! I love you, but…there’s another! Even though I relate to Misuzu on so much…I’m jumping on the Carol bandwagon.
Carol for the win!
SHIPPING: I’m sure something will progress by the end of the season. That was my premature take on the matter. Now, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of the main ship.
At the beginning of the series, it felt as though Jun didn’t seem to be affected by the love-bug or even aware of how girls feel at a certain age. It’s going to take some time for this idiot to get the message. And when it seems like he’s showing some sort of emotion towards Tomo, Jun says something double-standardy. Like other women can do this, but not her. At least that’s how it felt to me.
Later in the series, we notice that Jun is really starting to see Tomo as a girl and question little bits of their relationship. In fact, in the first episode when Tomo confessed, he thought it really could mean an actual confession. We even got flashbacks throughout the series with how these two really were. And yes, Jun really was that fucking stupid and didn’t know Tomo was a girl until much later. But that’s when he started to feel something there.
…
I’m sure you’re waiting for me to mention Carol and Kousuke since there was a very powerful episode that involved some revelations and “I love yous”. But um, I think everyone here is forgetting some important matter to this cutesy crap.
They are cousins.
Oh yeah, the Misuzu debacle. She just used Jun to further her own advances of getting him together with Tomo. And Jun kinda did the same thing. The whole thing ended in less than two days and their relationship hasn’t been pleasant from that day forward.
ENDING: There has been some turmoil between Misuzu, Tomo, and Jun. Misuzu has been feeling guilty about all her advances of girling Tomo up in order to win Jun’s heart. Misuzu ends up distancing herself away from Tomo, but Tomo still lures her back with her forgiving nature. Now comes the Tomo x Jun dilemma. Tomo likes Jun and has been dropping hints at him throughout the majority of this series. Jun likes Tomo and the feeling has been blooming in him for quite a while. Things finally erupted when Jun admits he likes Tomo. But then he also revealed about playing it off when Tomo first declared her feelings in episode 1. So, things didn’t go that well if you’ve got Tomo calling Jun an idiot after he says “I like you”.
The two eventually have a long talk. They both really like each other. But Tomo has been thinking this through more than Jun. If they go into a relationship, everything changes. And depending on how things end up it can be either successful or will destroy the relationship they already have. But Jun wants Tomo as a buddy, a bro, and a girlfriend. They even go on a date to the movies. Unfortunately, another wall stands in their way to a happy romance. That wall is Tomo’s dad. He refuses Jun to be her boyfriend unless Jun faces and wins a match against him.
Tomo did not take this well. Jun of course was very worried as he knows he’s not going to win this one. Tomo’s dad is like Bluto in a judo uniform. Regardless of the situation he’s in, Jun is going to go for it. The end result, Jun was actually able to put a dent in Tomo’s dad and was able to make his hands hit the ground for a brief sec. Guess that’s a W here. Tomo x Jun is a go and this ship has sailed.
Unless of course we get a second season and we get a secret lover of some sort?!
No? Okay. Still a great 13 episodes though. Yes, this was a very cute high school romcom. Literally, all of the characters were likeable. Even ones that are rarely in it like the parents. Seriously, Carol, Tomo, and Misuzu’s mothers are something else. With everything that has happened in these 13 episodes, do we even need a second season? The manga is over and with only 50+ chapters, I don’t know. Manga readers, did they cover everything here? Is there any more material to make a second season, movie, or special? I know Tomo and Jun are together. And Carol even got a chance at love. But Misuzu seems to be left out. Is she going to remain the status quo or will she eventually end up with that twank that’s been following her since the beginning? I forget his name. I’ll call him a twank. I personally would rather keep this anime at one season. I wouldn’t mind a special episode in the future, but best to leave things as they are. Any high school romcom fans, come over here. I approve.
If you would like to watch Tomo-chan is a Girl, Crunchyroll has this available in several languages.

Headcanon Voices - My Twst OCs
(sighs) So, less than a month after I said I would NOT be doing this...I’m doing this. Go figure. :P People keep asking me what voices I headcanon for my OCs, especially for Twisted Wonderland. I decided, just for a lark, to finally provide a dreamcast of English voices for my major TW OCs. (I probably won’t bother with Japanese voices...at least, not right now.) I decided to go with voice actors who primarily work in video games and anime dubs, and I wanted to make sure they had done recent work that felt like it matched the age range of the characters. With help from various people, and a lot of research, I think I’ve finally figured out the voices. SO...here is the Dreamcast of headcanon voices for my Twisted Wonderland OCs.
Nakoda Spivak = Landon McDonald
Initially, I was going to give this to Daman Mills, but after I reminded myself of McDonald’s voice in “Bungo Stray Dogs,” and then listened to his work in “Demon Slayer” and a couple of other places, I chose him, instead. I don’t know if McDonald can sing, but in terms of his speaking voice, it is EXACTLY how I would imagine Nakoda to sound...provided you just give him those tell-tale hisses. ;) Billy Géant = Stephen Fu
I love Stephen Fu from a few roles, but it was specifically his work as Noe in “The Case Study of Vanitas” that made me choose him here. His voice in that role has a certain mixture of grit and resonant depth that I felt Billy needed, but it’s still light and young, which I also felt was needed. In that specific role, he also shows two different sides: Noe is one half gooberish cinnamon bun who can be insanely cute and sweet, and the other half is...well...a vampire. A very, VERY powerful, strong, and dangerous vampire. He can flip on a dime from downright TERRIFYING to just the cutest little guy in the world. That’s EXACTLY what Billy should be: one moment a big loveable dunderheaded child, the next a rage-fueled disaster machine who can be fiery or icy depending on the situation.
Elias Inque = Brandon Johnson
I only just recently discovered Johnson for his work as the title role in “Skeleton Knight in Another World.” That role alone was all it took to convince me. In the part of Arc, the main character, he proves to be equal parts an over-the-top pseudo-villainous ham, a somewhat goofy and geeky sort, and a fairly down-to-Earth, rational person...AND, surprisingly, a massive glutton who is CONSTANTLY thinking of food. That’s basically Eli in a nutshell. I can even imagine him using his “normal voice” for Arc as Elias, while he transitions into his “bold knight” voice for when Eli becomes the Phantom Blot. Seems fitting.
Reno Rovar = Adam Gold
I really don’t know Adam Gold well at all. However, after @belliesandburps shared with me clips of him from “Cookie Run,” I was convinced. Case closed.
James Killian = Ricco Fajardo
Initially, I was going to cast Kieran Flitton here, even though I’ll confess I don’t know Flitton very well. Things changed when I discovered Fajardo’s work as Achilles in the game “Smite.” I knew Fajardo already from a few places, but it was Achilles in “Smite” that convinced me. Just like with McDonald as Nakoda, the instant I heard his work in that role, all I could think of was, “that’s James. That is EXACTLY how James should sound.” Heck, even some of his dialogue sounds like stuff James would say, in PRECISELY the way James WOULD say it! So that settled things in an instant.
Smitty McCarthy = Joshua Waters
Waters is a bit of an odd one here. This is a case where it’s less one or two specific ROLES that convinced me, and just the actor in general. I was most heavily influenced by his work as Miyano in “Sasaki & Miyano.” The soft, “smol” voice he uses for Miya in that show sounds very much like how I would imagine Smitty often sounding. The energy is different - Miyano’s personality is NOT the same as Smitty’s - but the specific SOUND, the QUALITY of the voice, is just about on the money. Knowing Waters’ other work, I think he’s a fine choice.
Maelstrom Baleno = Kellen Goff
I know Kellen Goff best for playing Sasaki in “Sasaki & Miyano” and Overhaul in “My Hero Academia.” Neither is the voice I imagine for Maelstrom. XD Much like Joshua Waters as Smitty, this is a case where it’s less about a specific role, and more about the actor. Goff has an INCREDIBLE range, and can do a lot of really cool things with his voice that you wouldn’t guess just hearing his neutral, natural tones. It was a combination of hearing a few roles of his, including his characters in Cookie Run, Volke from Fire Emblem, Glamrock Freddy, and a few others that made me decide he could, very likely, handle Maelstrom. While his natural voice is quite light, he’s shown he can bring depth and danger to a voice with ease, so while he may be unconventional as a choice, he seems possible to me.
Theodore Hamilton = Jalen K. Cassell
Theodore was quite possibly the hardest character to cast. I kept changing the voice right up until the last minute with him. The problem is that Theo is different from my other OCs because he’s based on a female source. Not only that, but it’s a female source with a VERY iconic sort of voice: the Wicked Witch of the West. Whether you go with Mila Kunis or Margaret Hamilton, how does one turn that heckling, cackling, snarling, shrieking voice into the sound of a handsome anime boi? I considered several actors: Brandon McInnis, Chris Guerrero, even a few who ended up with other characters, like Goff and Fu. Jalen K. Cassell won out because he had the right balance of youthfulness and slickness, while also showing the ability to snarl and get vicious and even surprisingly gruff and dusky. And he can cackle with the best of them, as far as his laugh goes; a perfect match for any wicked warlock.
Grit Gravelle = Bryce Papenbrook
This was the easiest voice to choose. Simply put, Grit is a LOT like Shindo from “My Hero Academia.” So it seemed only natural to use Shindo’s voice for his own. Case dismissed. And there you have it, folks! I must admit, I’m slightly unsure about a couple of these voices (specifically Maelstrom and Theo), but the rest seem right on the money and are unlikely to change. Now please, everybody, stop asking. XD

my personal ranking for the gang’s english dub voices is as follows btw:
itona: consistently excellent but that’s ricco fajardo for u!!! ESPECIALLY good with itona’s emotionally charged and distressed moments but also very good at his standard flat, monotone voice. it’s notably different to megumi ogata’s take on the character, but is great regardless, only missing that mysterious edge ogata brings
hazama: great at bringing her dryness and sarcasm to the forefront, consistently funny delivery that makes hazama’s one liners that more memorable, the only thing she misses i think is hazama’s creepiness, her eeriness!!! almost too focused on the sarcasm at times - fuko saito’s voice for hazama is so distinct and eerie with that trembling ghostly feel to it and is hard to match. to be fair.
yoshida: retains the wavering, strained feel of his original voice well - the occasional voice cracks are very good!!! i think this type of voice is fitting for him, but the overall performance could be better .. there’s also that weird blip in season 2 episodes 12 and 13 what happened there
terasaka: just rough and gruff and that’s it… but as i said it at least is recognisable as a terasaka voice. i don’t think it’s a voice suited for the long speeches terasaka gives though lmao nor for any kind of emotionally charged scenes where it just sort of falls flat ..
muramatsu: THAYS NOT HIMMMM HE WOULD NOT SOUND LIKE THAT 😭😭 how are u going to make muramatsu sound so generic omfg. one or two funny deliveries and thats IT its so nothing burger

So… looks like Anai got a new voice actor in Season 5.
This is Ricco Fajardo, and he sounded so much like the late Billy Kametz that I couldn’t tell the difference.

Oh! Another Unpopular opinion!
I actually love watching the dub and sub at the same time.
I like the cast for the dub, they’re all so unique for an English cast.
Ricco Fajardo is spectacular as Isagi and they just introduced Matt Shipman as Rin so already I’m like swooon!!!!
And I especially love Drew Breedlove as Bachira, all of his lines and line delivery are so flirty and just ooze uncanny psychopath a bit - like homie knows exactly what he’s doing.
I haven’t watched the dub since Crunchyroll is not available in my country… I could just download it, but that would be extra gb for my storage 🥲
I’ve watched a preview of english dub Bachira, though! And his voice was soooo good.

no one asked and i think i'm the only person who cares but lol. Lol. oh you already know. voice claims.
starting with jotchie!!!! i deeeeefinitely see him in that billy kametz ricco fajardo alejandro saab and even sean chiplock range. i'm leaning billy kametz from this group though. slightly scratchy throaty mid tone. BUT ALSO. and stick with me here. i'm seeing a bit of robbie daymond in there too. and is that because i'm obsessed with that man's voice? yes. but he's Just. like his voice is kind of too high and clear for where i see jotch falling but it's the Way he speaks that i can absolutely hear jotchie in. especially for the calmer slower more. how shall i say. Calculated moments. robbie speaks in a way that Grips you and makes you wait on every word like i LOOOOVE it and soooo see that for jotchie in certain moments. but yeah as far as the actual Sound of his voice goes it's definitely closer to billy.
for samir i still don't have like a One Guy but the pool is smaller!!! i see him as a combination of dani chambers and joel mcdonald. like dani has a very cute higher pitched voice that i can definitely see for him and i really enjoy her inflections but her voice is a little bit too clear which is where joel mcdonald comes in!! he has a very scratchy voice and. i don't really know how to describe this. he kind of speaks like he's never got enough air? idk. it's fun though i like that. but yeah cute high pitched a little scratchy and that's my boy<3
BERNIEEEE similarly we've got a smaller pool. chris wehkamp feels like kind of an obvious choice but man. if the shoe fits. though i absolutely see bernie with a deeper voice than that and more chesty as well soooo patrick seitz!! like the actual Way patrick seitz speaks i don't Super see for bernie but certainly the sound and tone of his voice are pretty close. all of chris wehkamp's inflections are KEY though like the grumble the tired. that's everything. that is bernie. he just needs to talk a little deeper and farther down.
faris is zeno robinson 🏌♂️
#i don't have any super strong thoughts on any of the others except for like#you know how Everyone including people who already have deeper voices will read susie with an even deeper voice. that's joey#but yeah. <3#ocs#longpost#joshua#samir#bernard

My Review of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Season 2
Season One Review
Time for double the fun! Does that also mean we get double controversy this time as well?
I think that raging piss-pad known as Twitter has been quiet since last season and learned to accept Uzaki-chan for what she is. There might be some issues later on since Miss Nagatoro is currently airing as of the date of this posting. But we’ll cross that bridge when the time comes. Time to watch a busty lass and her loner senpai.
HISTORY: Hana Uzaki was a college freshman. One day she casually met a former high school acquaintance named Shinichi Sakurai. That meeting only lasted a few seconds. After that meeting, Uzaki observed her senpai for a straight-up year as he does absolutely nothing. She thought that something had to be done. So, in her second year of college, she decided to hang out with Sakurai. Uzaki drags Sakurai everywhere and they do so much together. She says it’s to prevent him from becoming more of a loner. But is there something more there? Uzaki doesn’t think so, neither does Sakurai, but their friends Asai and Sakaki think so. Okay, let’s see what happens this season!
DOUBLE: We do get a flash of Uzaki and Sakurai last season as well as a future flash, but we jump right into Uzaki’s dilemma of the day. Yeah, we do get a bit of the same thing this season. Uzaki wants to hang out with Sakurai. Sakurai gets annoyed easily. They occasionally go to work. They occasionally hang out with other friends. And every time that happens, their friends try to ditch Uzaki and Sakurai so they can spend “alone time” together. Same shit, right?
Well, this season we do get introduced to new characters. This includes the rest of Uzaki’s family, including his girl-crazy brother and over-protective father. And we finally meet Sakurai’s family. As for the subject of Sakurai and Uzaki hooking up. The non-spoiler part of it is that there were a lot of fake-outs, baits-and-switches, and gotchas.
LICENSING: After the incident between Crunchyroll and several voice actors in a certain anime, I’m starting to grow concerned about returning castmates. This merger has not been pleasant in many areas. The good news here is that the original cast to Uzaki-chan has returned. Thank God, because I would boycott Crunchyroll if they replaced Monica Rial. She was made for the role of Uzaki-chan and don’t fight me on it. The only thing I’m questioning about is this “voice matching”. I’m guessing that there are some sessions Ricco Fajardo (voice of Sakurai) where he can’t be there and so they have David Matranga to voice match. Or something along those lines! I wonder if recording sessions have become more stressful or rushy after the FUNimation/Crunchyroll merger.
MEET THE PARENTS: Last season, we only met Uzaki’s mother. We’re quite familiar with this woman. She constantly thinks Sakurai wants to fondle her and do other unspeakable things to her and her daughter. Far from reality. Well, it’s time to meet the entire Uzaki family. And for shits and giggles, I’ll add Sakurai’s family here too.
Tsuki and Fujio are Uzaki’s parents. I think I’ve said all I can about Tsuki. She still thinks the wrong thing about Sakurai yet doesn’t say anything. Fujio on the other hand was in the dark about who this senpai of Uzaki’s was. However, Fujio and Sakurai already know each other because they work out at the same gym. They got along great! You just have to remember that Fujio is a father first and will wreck anyone who even looks at his daughters or wife.
Kiri and Yanagi are Uzaki’s younger brother and sister. Kiri met Sakurai once. It’s just that he doesn’t know that he’s the senpai of his sister nor does Sakurai catch onto his existence. Kiri is quite stubborn about literally everything. This was showcased greatly when Kiri goes to the gym and sees Sakurai out-doing Kiri at every turn. Sakurai’s dick was even bigger than his.
I can’t even believe I’m writing this in any review of mine. What the fuck do I care about some guy’s dick?! It was a funny moment. Kiri just staring at that big chungus.
As for Yanagi, she actually went up to her sister’s job to meet Sakurai. She’s a bit of a nosy person, but like Ami and Sakaki, she tries in her own way to get her sister and Sakurai together. However, her methods are a bit over the top.
Shirou and Haruko are Sakurai’s parents. It seems like Sakurai’s on good terms with his mother. His dad on the other hand is another story. Shirou tried to put distance between his son and the family so he could get freaky with his wife. He even lies to his wife saying he told Sakurai that he was going to be a big brother. Some father, am I right? On a plus-note, this is Tomokazu Sugita. It’s funny when I can point out his voice within five seconds. Here’s the cast list.

SHIPPING DOUBLE!!: More people are on team Uzaki x Sakurai compared to last season. Now, we’ve got some close friends of Uzaki’s encouraging them to get together. I think Sakurai and Uzaki falling asleep next to each other out in public got some unwanted attention. But a tarot reading at the school festival kinda messed with Uzaki’s brain. And then there was this added pressure from her family.
Yes, we meet more members of the Uzaki family besides the mother. Unfortunately, Uzaki’s mother still has every wrong idea in her head when it comes to Sakurai. She still thinks he wants her and her juicy bits. In reality, he just wants to pet Uzaki’s kitties. No lie! It’s just as bad as it was last season. But it’s the entire family that has the wrong idea about Sakurai. Uzaki’s brother thought Sakurai was a hot girl senpai at first, Uzaki’s sister thinks something kinky is happening between them, and the father is wondering what the hell is going on with his daughter. Add to that, her father knows Sakurai from the gym but hasn’t caught on that he’s the infamous senpai that Uzaki has been hanging with. Not yet anyways!
The one thing that always seems to ruin the chances of this ship setting sail is the fact that Sakurai never says Uzaki’s first name. He always calls her ‘Uzaki’ (her last name). Yet he’s on first name basis with Uzaki’s mother and sister.
ENDING: I think it’s been teased several times this season that we’re getting something revolving around Uzaki and Sakurai during Christmas. It was teased in the first episode and the ending theme. Both characters have had such big changes when it comes to their feelings for the other. They both…I guess they both like each other. But of course, have never said anything to each other to prove that point. They’re just annoying friends. Uzaki’s father got on her case because she’s stayed overnight at his place several times and they’re not really boyfriend/girlfriend. Meanwhile, Sakurai came back home and got a bit of a beat-down from his old man about this very subject. Sakurai’s father is a scumbag, but he does make a good point.
After visiting the folks, Sakurai comes back to finally do something with Uzaki. That was until Uzaki annoyed him and earned herself a banishment from Sakurai’s apartment. Like everything else in this series, this never lasts more than half an episode. This whole snafu was cleared up when Uzaki and Yanagi decide to have Sakurai over for dinner before Christmas.
Things…um, they did not go well. Fujio went into overprotective papa beast mode when it was learned that the nice boy at the gym was the same guy that his daughter hangs out with and might have a thing for. Suddenly, Fujio is reminded of a gym conversation he had about his daughter with Sakurai. Fujio and Sakurai’s mood changed severely as they were both struck with fear and uncertainty. What are they to do?
Sakurai gets stinkin’ drunk as to forget what happened this night.
Yeah, but he still blabbed some things in his drunk haze. It only got worse from here.
Nudged by her sister Yanagi, Uzaki starts stripping Sakurai. Uzaki was drunk too. When Uzaki sobered up, she took Sakurai home. And at home, Sakurai pins her down on the bed. Make what you will with that scene. They were both sobering up in that scene. Thankfully, nothing transpired with this moment and Sakurai just passed out. The following day, he didn’t remember a thing that happened. Uzaki came forward and showed Sakurai the dirty evidence of what happened after he passed out. He took it a lot better than I thought he would.
However, he does recall pinning Uzaki down on his futon.
Now it’s time for Sakurai to try to come to grips with what his relationship with Uzaki is. He had another one-on-one with his scumbag father. And then had a small conversation with Sakaki and his boss, Akihiko. He asks if Uzaki really likes Sakurai. They said yes, and the fact that you couldn’t see it until now is astounding. Everyone knows. Even the customers! So, will Sakurai make a move? Will Uzaki say something? But if someone confesses, that means no season three. Sakurai holds her hand and then we got a bait and switch. Let’s hang out some more next year. It’s New Years. I forgot to mention it’s the new year.
Okay, I guess there’s more of this same old crap where neither character admits they like the other and we’re strung along for another season or two. I think since the events of Kaguya-sama’s third season went down; I’ve become more antsy with having to wait on these wishy-washy characters. Even Senpai and Nagatoro have a better relationship and Nagatoro made this kid cry in the first episode. Okay, I swear this is the last time I’ll bring up Miss Nagatoro in this review. It just doesn’t help that both series are similar in the premise, aired close to each other and their mangas came out around the same time.
I’m glad that there was some realizations for both Uzaki and Sakurai this season. I guess that’s some progress compared to the first season. Recommendation for this series as a whole might be a little tricky as a character like Uzaki can either be loved or hated depending on how you view her character. Uzaki is one of those characters that can make or break the show for certain people no matter how big her titties are. Yeah, I said it. Watch an episode or two and make your own judgement. And if you watched season one, you already know what to expect here.
If you want to check out Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out, Crunchyroll has both seasons available for streaming.
