-gavin and freelancer can have conversations without actually saying anything, just by making little faces at each other (not even through telepathy or demon magic, they're just that in tune with each other)

-freelancer has the cutest sneeze and the guys never fail to let them know 

-the d.a.m.n crew all collectively agree that freelancer is just the sweetest person ever (for freelancer's birthday, they all made a 50+ page detailed as fuck slideshow on why they were the best friend/partner ever) ((they cried a lot that day))

-damien hates the rain (not even because of his powers or anything he just genuinely does not like rainy weather)

-gavin quite literally being the embodiment of thinking with his dick 

-freelancer is always in gavin’s lap 

-freelancer and gavin have necklaces with the other’s initial/name on it (they're literally call it what you want by taylor swift)

-whenever lasko makes dirty jokes it’s always unintentional (in a ‘letting the intrusive thoughts win’ way) and he always acts shocked he said what he said afterwards ((he’s subconsciously learned to not have much of a filter around the d.a.m.n squad and it only got worse after being with dear))

-caelum rifts into gavin and freelancer’s bedroom and jumps on top of them to cuddle for a little (he loves falling asleep on freelancer’s chest)

-gavin knew the exact moment damien and huxley got together and was just silently proud of and happy for them 

-lasko and coworker as a hurricane & damien and huxley as a volcano

-gavin and freelancer spoil the other so much 

-the d.a.m.n squad have cuddle piles 

-freelancer is obsessed with mac and cheese (same) 

-coworker tells all their students to just call them by their name without miss/mister because it makes them feel hella old

-gavin and freelancer calling each other “bitch”

-freelancer was the first friend damien had to make him feel truly loved

-whenever lasko’s partner runs their fingers through his hair, scratching his scalp lightly it puts him straight to sleep

-lasko and damien get into political debates (arguments about which of their favourite books/movies is better) ((they also just bicker really often)) 

-damien ruffles freelancer’s hair like an older brother would

-the damn group have pool parties at huxley and damien’s house pretty often (freelancer wears bikini bottoms and gavin spends the whole day trying to flirt with them)

-freelancer gets stomach aches so often to the point where huxley asks them if their stomach hurts today every time they meet up 

-dear has a habit of lying about the most random things for no reason. it's not even believable but they just talk with the straightest face and when you ask "really?" they say "no, wtf?" ("yeah i used to be a gymnast. i won like three national titles" "oh my god really? that's awe-" "no.") ((they think it's the funniest thing in the world))

-huxley wipes stuff (food, dust etc.) off of damien’s face for him. outright refuses to let him do it for himself 

-freelancer refers to the crew as their bitches (they're not wrong)

-dear is the most calming presence anyone has been around (damien falls asleep around/on them so often)

-the first time dear called lasko babe/baby he literally almost passed out from how much blood rushed to his face (huxley may or may not have witnessed it and had to fan his face for several minutes)

-freelancer, lasko and damien have little trio dates

-freelancer moans at random to be funny and damien has actually started fighting them for it

-the crew has karaoke fairly often (they can all sing pretty well but sometimes they just choose to sing terribly)

-because damien and freelancer have the most sibling-like relationship in the group, they fight quite often. the arguments aren't always awful but they get bad occasionally (they went no contact for almost a week until dear decided to play mediator and forced them to talk it out)

-lasko doodles the group in different art styles in his free time (gavin found the drawings and said it was cute before lasko could start panicking)

-the crew has made a habit out of hanging out in lasko and dear's offices during breaks, even if neither of them are inside

-since freelancer was the last to graduate, everyone showed up to their ceremony and they all screamed louder than anyone else in the crowd

-the crew welcomed dear into the group so easily it's like they've always been apart of the family

-however, the moment that officially solidified them as one of them was the first time they cried in front of them all after about a year of meeting (it was the anniversary of their grandfather's death and they couldn't hold it together)

-lasko is a billion times more confident on his private instagram and twitter accounts

-freelancer goes into a food coma whenever they're even slightly full so after every friendsgiving meal, they take a nap on the couch for like half an hour

-dear and damien are the resident chefs of the group (the first time dear cooked around them all, damien swore for half a second he was in love with them)

-dear is the true mom friend of the group

I got an adorable idea!

What if the animatronics in security breach played D&D! Now I'm not talking about the characters inside a fantasy realm I'm thinking what if a person left a players hand book at the pizza Plex and the gang devoured that shit up!

Id like to think Freddy would be a support roll, more the type to help the party indirectly. He feels like the most inclined to spell casting. Id put him as the type to do Wizard, Cleric, Paladin, or even Druid! Id say hed likely stick to the races in the players hand book, probably a human main. He's very into playing a character, even if that character is the same sweet person each time.

Chica is your major roleplay player, she would be all about getting into the mind of her character and really selling it. She plays any race, and class, and often is the one to pick her class race combo last so she has something to go off of, as a challenge. When she does choose you know my girl is Bard all the way. She's also the only one to actually read the history of the races and really get into the D&d lore.

Roxy likes playing a modified monk, (in fact as a over all rule they play with a lot of table rules!) or a rogue, she usually doesnt pick any other class, as well as loving being an elf. She's a little less on the roleplay side (but can't help but bounce off of the others when needed) she's more of a combat centric player. She loves winning encounters, loving puzzles, anything. She's likely to be the one min maxing her character. Which has lead to some fun experiences when Chica asks about how she became a Cleric, Paladin, Druid multi class.

Monty is exclusively a fighter dragonborn. He loves being allowed to smash shit up and have no *real* repercussions. However he's not actually combat driven, he's a roleplay player similar to Chica, only he expresses he can make 101 characters with out needing to change the mechanics of said character. It's scary how calm Monty can be when he's in the role. (Said calmness started to carry over to work life too!) That doesn't stop a burst or two which thankfully only results in a pouty gator. Monty loves exploring the worlds, it's his favourite thing. To picture landscapes and worlds completely different from his own. And then be able to interact with those worlds.

Sun and Moon are the DMs! Sun is a story focused DM, he loves crafting a narrative, playing NPCs, and developing the world's of his story. He's the one usually in the spot light for a majority of the time. The rest of the time is Moon. Moon is a challenge focus dm. He loves crafting riddles, puzzles, combats, and difficult choices at the party. When ever it's moons turn to take over the table all the lights go out and dark red ambient lighting fills the room. Moons challenges are to be feared as Moon takes death in the game as a real and possible thing. While Sun tries to avoid it happening all together. Funnily enough Moon doesn't like improf, he has his encounters planned almost to the T, including alternative paths the party takes, INCLUDING DEATH OUTCOMES. He is meticulous. Sun on the other hand has a half ass idea of what the session will be about related to the over arching story, have a few bullet points of required information, a few bullet points of optional information and just goes from there. He has a party who eagerly love to make their own decisions and discuss where to go and what to do.

I like to imagine that while one is running the work for the day, the other is planning out their portion of the session, always able to communicate and keep track of details together. While Sun is playing Moon is taking notes, more for himself really.

They play once a week on Sundays, seeing as that's their only day off. They play 6 hour sessions usually and go on many tangents. But they enjoy playing so much, after all its the closest thing they get to freedom.

Edit: I FORGOT DJ!!! Of course he would be allowed to play!! And the little DJ dudes too idk what their called. DJ seems like the kind of player to sit back and watch everything happen, communication is a bit hard but he's still included. I think he would play a bard (very classic) just so he could have an excuse to play sound boards during the game. Speaking of which they definitely play games in the west arcade, with DJ helping set the ambience with music and sound effects. I like to think he secretly downloaded files like leaves russling to add to it. DJ likes to work on theme songs for each character. He simply enjoys being included even if it's limited.

You said you like Stranger Things in one of your asks, who's your favourite character? Also which character do you personally most relate to and which character do you find the most interesting and/or complex (and please feel free to elaborate in great detail!)

Hello, thank you for the ask! This is such a hard question but I'll try to answer to the best of my ability.

If I had to choose, my favourite character is probably Nancy. I mean, she's just really cool. I love how she's evolved over the seasons and how it reflects on her physical character design (hair, costume, etc). I love how she interacts with the people around her because it is so interesting. For example, in the fight she has with Jonathan in S3, she is trying to show him the misogyny she's been facing and is getting extremely frustrated at him for not seeing it, but at the same time she is blind to the classism he's facing and his difficulties with his poverty. She didn't have ill intentions, she just felt so so strongly that she became sort of tunnel-visioned. I love her passion, how she sees everything around her with a need for justice, how everything is worth her time because she wants to know things. I LOVE that her career goal is a journalist because I could truly see her thriving in that when she finds a niche. I can't wait for her to leave Hawkins and go to university and find herself because she has this potential, this spark that makes her so unique from the other characters to me. Whenever she's on screen it's HER scene, you know.

Funnily enough, the character I would say I relate most to is Jonathan. Or kind of a mix between him and Nancy. He also has this immense passion, like Nancy, but his is like a precise volt of energy into his photography and he hides this passion beneath a dark exterior that he hopes will ward people off. I may be a terrible photographer, but I relate to the concentration of all of your fervency into this one part of life that gives you a sense of being needed. Jonathan needs to feel needed. We can see that in how he's falling off the rails in S4, because his brother doesn't really need him anymore - Will is growing up, Nancy is busy in a whole other state, El has Will and Joyce - and Jonathan is lost without being needed by these people, so he turns to weed for an escape because it stops him thinking. (BIG FUCKING RELATE).

I fucking love Jonathan. I need him to catch a break because he's been through so much. Anyway, I'm not sure what else I can say about him, because there is SO much. I could make another post about Jonathan if anyone would be interested - I could make it far more organised than this.

You also asked who I found most fascinating, but I suppose I've sort of covered that, so I'll just ramble on a bit about some pairings I like? (You invited this I'm afraid.)

As one may guess I absolutely love Jonathan and Nancy. I don't think their relationship is the healthiest but that doesn't stop me being obsessed with everything about their pairing and the aesthetic of it. I think daily about that scene of them lining up their scars. What they want through was unique to them and they found themselves in each other when the trauma made them feel alone. They wound themselves together because all of their pain was reflected in eachother - and while that's not a great reason to start dating, I truly think they fell in love with eachother as they did this, and I can't blame them for wanting to find the slightest bit of comfort after what they went through. I love how dark and twisted the reason for their love is. I love how softly they hold eachother despite it. I love how they talk about the other when they're not there, how despite all of the darkness in their lives, they're eachother's anchor to the real world. I love how their career goals line up, the journalist and the photojournalist, and I love how Nancy brings Jonathan's passion out of him and let's him show it in front of her without being afraid of being judged, and he let's her follow her dreams, her thirst for knowledge, even if it means him losing the one girl who makes his life worth living. He's willing to leave her life if it means she can live it fully.

Anyway, some other dynamics I like are Will and Mike - romantically, Lucas and Max - romantically and Will and El - sibling dynamic. I really do hope Mike and Will can get together in the final season, because I think it would draw the show to this really nice close. Yes, the freak can have his true love. He can be loved because he is a freak, he is different - they're both different, but with eachother they're Kings of the world. Society's expectations don't matter when they have eachother.

With Max and Lucas, they are just so sweet. Lucas might not fully understand Max's depression and grief, but he wants to understand it. Something about that complete devotion, even when Max isn't being herself, just pulls at my heart. I really want an unconditional love like that. Max might've thought that Lucas was changing, that he wouldn't care about her after becoming popular - but then he's there, when she's almost died because of Vecna, and he's telling her I'm here, i'm here, I'm here, and he's holding her so tight that she can feel that he won't let anything happen to her. They are just like... soulmates. Seriously. They fit together like puzzle pieces and they NEED eachother. I really, really hope Max is cognitive in S5 because I need her and Lucas to just talk to eachother and hold hands and be teenagers in love despite the world falling apart around them. Yeah.

Sorry if I didn't make much sense, once again i wrote this all with no structure and just spoke my mind so it may seem disjointed. Hope I answered your question though and made it a bearable enough read.

Fic: love, kisses and such; Hua gongzi x Gong Zishang x Jin Fan

Zishang gets her Jin Fan and honestly, it’s a happily ever after. Everyone rides off into the sunset and it’s all rainbows and butterflies. The end.

Honestly, Xiao Hei loves that for her. She deserves nothing short of the best that this world can give her and Jin Fan is… Jin Fan is the best person to give her the moon if she asked for it, to treat her well, to love her in the way she needs.

And if he aches to be one person, well. That’s a truth he admits only when it’s just him in the dead of night.

So, he takes himself and his scars, and smiles as their love story unfolds right in front of his eyes. He plays confidante to Zishang when she drags him along to all of her half-baked schemes (mostly involving wheedling her Yuanzhi didi) and her elaborate plans (that somehow also involves Yuanzhi didi and that unnameable thing he has with Gong Shangjue. Xiao Hei tries not think about it too much).

Funnily enough, Jin Fan in his own way starts seeking him out too. Xiao Hei suspects Zishang’s hand in this but the woman seems to be conspicuously missing or otherwise occupied whenever Jin Fan comes over to hang out with him.

In truth, he really doesn’t mind. A discussion about swords over tea and snacks that Jin Fan brings along with him, a stroll around the back hill with Jin Fan close to his side while he hobbles along with his walking stick, time spent with Jin Fan slowly grows to become his most favourite ways to mark the passage of time while he heals.

The Jade Guardian never presumes he needs assistance. For that alone, Xiao Hei is grateful.

So, it’s a little confusing and equal parts terrifying, but also very much joyous and exciting when Zishang comes barging into his room with an exasperated Jin Fan in tow, declaring that she has about had enough of beating the bush. He doesn’t even have the frame of mind to process why, of all things, Jin Fan doesn’t stop her when she grabs him by the shoulders and hauls him close enough to clumsily slide their mouths together in a kiss.

“What—“

“You like me, correct?” Zishang interrupts before he can squeeze another syllable out.

“Yes…”

Turning to Jin Fan, she cocks her head. “And you like me too, right?”

“I’d say we’re a little past that, but for the intents and purposes of this,” Jin Fan levels Xiao Hei with a deep fondness that makes his belly swoop. “Yes.”

The answer seems to satisfy Zishang.

“And I like you, understand?” Zishang’s voice quivers when she speaks to Xiao Hei again. “I like you a lot and some days I’m so scared of how much space I have in my heart for both of you.”

Jim Fan takes pity on him and closes the distance between them to reach for Xiao Hei’s free hand. “What Zishang is trying to say is that she really likes you and me, and is hoping that your feelings for her haven’t changed.”

Xiao Hei chortles. The sound wet and wheezing. Somewhere caught between a heart deflating and inflating with too much warmth. This can’t be happening. What would they even want with a broken body like his?

Jin Fan and Zishang are immediately alarmed.

With tender movements, Zishang leans in to hold him and starts rubbing his back in soothing, gentle motions. Jin Fan doesn’t leave, no, he goes to fix him a cup of tea.

Xiao Hei feels like he stepped on something beautiful. The guilt in his chest is immense, prickling the corners of his eyes.

“You’re alright with this, are you?” He mumbles, looking at him with no small amount of sorrow, only for the man to smirk. As if he has some profound insight into a universal truth that Xiao Hei is missing.

“We are not written for one instrument alone,” Jin Fan says serenely. He lifts the tea cup, urging Xiao Hei to drink. “I am not, neither are you.”

“That’s—“

Zishang cups his cheek, turning his face to hers. “Can you at least let us try?” Her eyes bright and determined.

Xiao Hei can only duck his head, sniffling. “I feel like I’ve ruined something.”

“You’ve ruined nothing we hadn’t wanted you to,” Jin Fan says, voice closer now. Xiao Hei shivers.

He thinks he tastes paradise on Zishang’s lips when she kisses him again the second he says, yes.

I went to the Globe!!! It was a surreal starstruck moment when I first walked in and I could not wrap my head around how small it is; it feels like being at an intimate local theatre because you're so close to the stage wherever you are in the audience but it's the fucking Globe

The current As You Like It is spectacular, extremely fun, extremely silly, extremely joyful. I had the BEST fucking time and all the flaws in it were due to the text itself not the production (the rushed ending section pisses me off every time but you just have to accept its issues as part of the charm and uniqueness of the play.) I adored every member of the cast especially the Rosalind, Orlando and (a very camp, yet somehow still in character) Jaques, my uncontested favourite character in the play.

I really really hope a recording of this production goes out somewhen because I would love for the world to be able to see it. I wish I could direct all of you to a way to watch it but nope, you've just got to get yourself to London (I live Many hours away from the city myself so this is an amazing opportunity for me).

Also, this particular evening's performance was a little "special" in that the actor playing Silvius couldn't make it and he had no understudy, but someone from the Globe company stepped in and honestly did an amazing job performing his lines even though he had to read them off a script and even joined in with choreography, I was really impressed. But anyway, though it was completely unintentional, it's actually hilariously fitting for Silvius to be played by a last-minute stand-in because the poor sucker is just a very unfortunate and "second choice" kind of character so I genuinely think it improved the experience 😁 The other cast members had a couple of really funny ad-lib lines about him being a stand-in too lol ("he doesn't even have a costume!")

Overall 11/10, so so so worth standing for 2 1/2 hours after already being on my feet for the entire day!

Going back to the Globe for Macbeth tomorrow 😍😍😍 Funnily enough the Scottish play has always been one of my less favourites but I cannot WAIT to see Lady Macbeth having her epic girlboss / breakdown moments live on stage!!!

In my last ideas/prompt post I was all "If I were going to write this out fully, I'd not just get into where Aoko is, but involve her directly" and like... yeah.

It's easy to things of Situations to put Kaito and Hakuba in, because for one thing, Hakuba already knows about Kid, so there's none of that "how does he react" drama to think of, and for another... the tension is definitely there in a way that easily translates into "and yeah, the UST exists and they're hormonal teenagers so something is bound to happen at some point."

Plus, it's just. Well, it's fun!

But then my mind unfailingly goes "But Aoko." Because I loved Kaito/Aoko first and I can't imagine a world where Kaito loves Aoko less (and even if it's not romantic, I like seeing him still have something special with her).

It's things like "Aoko has noticed that her best friend and crush is acting weird with their favourite detective friend, and actually, isn't that a lot like how he treats her? Doesn't Kaito look like he's more comfortable around Hakuba than he is around Aoko? Does... does Kaito not like Aoko anymore... or did he even at all..."

And it's things like "Kaitou Kid got hurt and sure Hakuba knows, but all Aoko knows is that he's taking a few days slacking off from school, and if he takes any longer to feel better she's going to start worrying and she's going to be the only one of the three who doesn't know what's going on."

It's... "Lately, Aoko's been feeling weirdly left out, like Kaito and Hakuba-kun have something they're sharing that Aoko isn't part of, but that can't be true, right? After all, Aoko knows Kaito best. Or... she thought she did."

Aoko has so many insecurities. We see Kaito tell her in "Kaito's Busy Day" that, "Who'd want to go out with an ugly girl like you?" and she just goes "I... know that... but..." which really. Ow!

So I guess that for one thing, I want to keep the aspects of the (canon) ship that I've always loved, but I also see this girl who's been made to feel (possibly by Kaito's own tsundere "won't admit what I feel" issues) like she's not attractive, and... have her realise that this isn't the case at all, and Kaito really does care about and love her, that his feelings for Hakuba don't make his feelings for her any less for them.

I also... love the idea of seeing Kaito having to go from being over the moon because the detective who's been chasing him is his now, to realising that the boat's been rocked and the status quo has changed, and he has to choose between either being honest with Aoko about at least his feelings for her - or losing her entirely, and realising what that'd do to him.

Funnily enough, I feel like they work as a trio ship because they even each other out, and they feel like the kind of people where as long as they're communicating clearly, if one is gone or if there's a problem, they can talk it out with the others and sort it out. And unlike some ships with more than two people, I kinda see Aoko as the only one with issues about seeing her significant other with someone else sometimes, and I feel like that'd ease off over time.

So, it is the last day of the year... Let's reflect, shall we... You probably all know what happened at the end of last year. My husband got sick, I brought him to the hospital thinking it is an easy fix and then he was basically dying with sepsis. So yeah, that was... not great. Especially with all the complications that arose. He is home now, but he is not healthy yet. We have at least one surgery left and it will happen in January and then I hope he can finally go into rehab for good. The good news are, he is getting better and better at home, he even can stand for a few seconds, so I am positive a proper rehab can be done towards the end. He will be disabled for a good while though. Anyway, this year has been a challenge, both emotionally and physically, because I was suddenly alone and had to handle things that my husband normally does. I kinda realized I am stronger than I look then because carrying two sixpacks of 1,5 l water bottles was impossible for me once. It isn't anymore. I tried being creative when I found time, but I had to admit to myself that it isn't happening somewhen in Summer, so I went on hiatus, only writing when I truly had nothing else to do and going on a complete art hiatus. I miss it though. I want to write and draw regularly again, but there are still too many things in my mind. Mainly the stuff with my driver's licence because for some reason me running to my husband in hospital while in distress and accidentally damaging a car while parking which I didn't even notice is a warrant to punish me really really hard. I am still salty about that, yes! So how did I cope? Easily with indulging myself in video games: Let me put that under the cut:

When the thing with my husband first happened I barely was able to do anything. I was mostly cleaning and tidying up the apartment and then watch videos on Youtube because if I broke out in tears during this it was easy to pause and blow my nose. It took a few days and my husband getting better so that I could try and do other stuff again. And I really really indulged myself into Pokémon Scarlet. The games were pretty fresh during that time and I played them a little but not much, but now... I was hooked. I had days off work and if I wasn't visiting my husband, I would sit in front of my Switch and play Pokémon Scarlet and my god, did I love it! The story, the characters, the open world, the music... yes they are technical not well programmed, but I did never mind because that game gave me a peace of mind. Even after I finished the story I sat there each evening doing the Tera Raids. I love the Tera raids. Gen. 9 games are easily my favourite Pokémon games since Gen. 4 and funnily enough, when Gen. 4 came out I also had a hard time in my life, so I guess Pokémon is like my therapy game now... But of course I wasn't playing Pokémon the whole year. After I was done with it, I decided to finally finish Darkest Dungeon with a little help of one of my Discord servers. I pretty much only had the Darkest Dungeon left, but it takes a while because a group that went into it will never enter it again, so you basically have to level up four teams for each quest and that only if you don't fail it. Anyway, I had the game on hiatus for a whole year, so it felt good to finally finish it. And then I was like "Oh, I remember Anno 1800. I bought the History version a while ago but never played it. Let's do it." I then installed the game and was like "Hmmm, maybe I should get the other DLCs as well?" and they were on sale so I just got the last pack and started Anno 1800 with all DLCs activated.

And I got hooked for the first part of 2023. God, I played this game a lot. I also streamed it to friends so they could indulge in the towns that are being build up. Me and my friend Panda called it the "Autism game" because it basically is like building up your own miniature model town, only that everything is alive and moves around. The game however, can get overwhelming, especially with all DLCs, so I wasn't able to play it lately. I want to come back to it though. I also got myself into the Cooking Mama games when I was depressed and browsed Amazon for used DS games to see if I can get some nice deals. I bought the first Cooking Mama, tried it and was hooked. After a while I decided to buy the rest of the series and had five games to play for my DS and 3DS. I finished them all and they were a really good time. They also renewed my interest in trying new recipes at home, but that has to wait until my husband is better. And then I downloaded Final Fantasy 14, in an attempt to connect better to my husband because he played this game a lot before he became sick. I quickly got hooked, mostly because of the music. I upgraded to the full game even before I finished Heavensward (which is included in the free trial) and am currently at Endwalker and wow, just wow! There are flaws of course, but this story has been a roller coaster and I really have fun with the group content like the dungeons and the alliance raids and stuff! I hope my husband can go back to his character soon (his hands bother him still so he doesn't want to play) so we can play together. And that after I was like "Nah, after WoW I will never play a MMO again." Whoops... Speaking of Final Fantasy, in February TheatRhythm Final Bar Line released and I played the shit out of that game! I love the FF music, I love rhythm games, it is a match made in heaven. I even tried my hand on the supreme scores and they are truly super duper hard! Could only clear them with a full healer team, but playing them also meant that ultimate felt easy... I also played a charming indie game named Ato at the start of the year. It is basically a Metroidvania bossrush, but a really really good one with hidden lore you can find in the world. The final boss had me in tears and the music was so so good! I wholeheartedly recommend this game. It isn't super long either, you can finish that game in eight to ten hours depending on your skill.

In summer there released the new Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons games, but I kinda wasn't hooked with them. I will probably play them more once my husband is better. Instead, however, I got hooked by Rune Factory 3. I bought both 3 and 4 Special Edition for my Switch and decided to play 3 for and this game is so charming and I love the characters a lot and the gameplay loop is fun and ugh, why didn't I play these games sooner?! Yeah, I played RF3 a lot and I still have to finish it, but my husband mostly has the Switch at the moment and he deserves it after being away for a whole year ^^ Speaking of the Switch, Metroid Prime Remastered! My birthday gift for myself. The game is as fantastic as ever and even though I didn't 100 % it, I got a lot of the items and then beat the final boss. And speaking of big Nintendo IPs, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Like BotW it needed a while to grip me, but once it did, I was fascinated! I still have to finish it however, it is a big game and it will keep me busy for a while longer. Now it is the end of the year. I am still busy with FF14 and Zelda ToTK. Pokémon DLC released and I wanna play that. And I bought Lies of P for my PS5 and love it so far! I am updating you guys about Lies of P regularly and sometimes about FF14 and Zelda. Also, I decided to use my Steamdeck more, so I play a dungeon crawler named Silent Hope on it (from the Story of Seasons developers, that got me interested) and I started a cozy game named Potion Permit. Of course I threw my Laurence into it. Feels fitting for him to be a chemist xD What will the new year bring? Hopefully my husband will be better and will be able to walk again. Other than that, I hope that I keep my licence. And then... I just hope that I can continue being creative and if not... I keep playing my games.

It was vaguely inspired by the silt verses and the wolf 359 minisode variations on a theme. It was kind of about aromanticism. It was mildly unhinged. And it will probably never be finished because I couldn't figure out a good direction to take it in. Pour one out.

16. What are your writing strengths? Imagery!! People always tell me my imagery is super vivid and memorable and you know what? They're right! I think I have a knack for coming up with imagery and metaphors and motifs and weaving them throughout my writing. Doesn't hurt that I edit my fics like they're academic essays so even if they're not interesting they at least always have strong throughlines

17. What are your writing weaknesses? hmmmm I feel like pacing is something I struggle with. Also while I think my imagery and metaphors are strong I also have a really hard time figuring out how like, subtle to make them? Like I just Do Not have an intuitive sense of what's too heavy-handed or what's too oblique, so I feel like it can end up leaning a bit on the obvious side. it's something I'm working on!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? It's not something I've ever really thought about, to be honest! Probably not something I'd do myself, but that's really just because I'd be likely to mess it up lol

19. First fandom you wrote for? Lost, which is truly something I can never live down. guys I really really like that one insanely underdeveloped ghost-talking guy

20. Favorite fic you've written? either give them all that they can drink or how ridiculous I was as a marionette. much as I clown on myself for writing not one but two ace cordy fics that were meant to be short and ended up being 9k, I can't act like I don't think they were both excellent. oh, and I'm also always very proud of what exists of to be a king of a ruined world, though I feel like I can't call it my favourite on the grounds that it's only like. a third done.

I’ve watched “as time goes by”

which leaves “goodbye, farewell, and amen”

which I will be watching tomorrow 

and then I will be a mess the following week at least 

but before that, maybe it’s time for a quick review of the last episode + overall the show for me at this point

1. as time goes by

I really enjoyed this episode, and add it to the list of ones that fit well into this final season. We heard three names: Radar, Blake, Frank Burns, and there’s something interesting about the nature of leaving something of Radar’s and Henry’s in the time capsule, but not for Frank

on the one hand, of course it was because none of them liked Frank and didn’t want to give him the respect, but on the other he’s the only one that got to leave without some symbolic loss (I say that, he fully lost Margaret, but she’s more than a symbol and will not be buried in the ground for 100 years!)

Radar’s innocence and Henry’s life, left in Korea. Interesting that they didn’t leave anything of Trapper’s or mention his name. It would have been Hawkeye’s job to do so, and sure, I’ll read too much into it 

youknow, I was almost kinda saddened that Charles was just messing with Rizzo, for a moment I genuinely believed him -- not that I don’t think he’s a far superior gremlin to BJ, but youknow... imagines if he’d genuinely had that instinct

Hawkeye ending up genuinely helping Margaret was good for me personally -- I do think, now I’m near the end of the story -- that they definitively have my favourite friendship on the show and I was missing seeing it much after s8. They get each other better than anyone else + bring out better, more thoughtful people, when they want to

I knew Rosalind Chao would arrive at some point! and here she is! I assume she’ll be sticking around for the finale too, which is interesting. My guess is she’s going to end up with Klinger, but who knows with this show, it doesn’t tend to take the romantic happiness route. But if anybody has that sort of character, it’s Klinger! 

funnily enough, she’s one of the only things that’s making me a little more relaxed about the finale, because she’s a brand new character, which means for her the finale is more like the main gist of the narrative

 I’m pleased that this is the second-to-last episode -- not so intense overall (although with Soon-Lee for a bit there), gives a lot of callbacks to the story and the characters, Margaret is giving me that “I need to get an A+ in being remembered in 100 years, something that is normal to want and possible to achieve” vibe that makes me love her, and Hawkeye is both ribbing her, but ultimately there to support

and Radar’s teddy-bear stays in Korea

2. s11

Overall s11 happened very much like I expected it to -- it relatively continued to be one-off episodes with the odd wrapping up of little things here and there (the time capsule, Hawkeye vs that general which is gonna be stuck in my head forever, potter’s mortgage being paid off) and both Kellye and Rizzo got to spend a little more time at the forefront, which was nice to see

it was hard for me to engage with the episodes that didn’t have some kind of thematic or character furthering device I could latch onto, because I was so fixated on how near the end this is, but alas, that’s syndication and you’re meant to just be able to watch them, I get it. Maybe on my second go-through it’ll be easier for me to focus on s10+11 without the countdown of episodes left in my head running (but also... maybe not... I always react strongly to endings -- I watch lotr every year and cry the same amount every time)

3. all of it

may end up just making a whole other post about all of it, and probably not until me head’s on a little straighter and I’m not still stuck in the middle of feelings, but what a strange experience to watch something that’s been around for quite awhile and isn’t exactly an under-appreciated show, but at the same time was never really on my radar until this year -- I feel like I’ve been let in on the world’s worst kept secret 

I’m also currently rewatching it and am near the end of s4, so I need to get on with the single-season rundowns of s2+3, which I haven’t gotten around to yet. what can I say, my process is to write out how I feel, so many more words will happen

there’s also something interesting about watching this right now in the landscape of tv, in which the ability to make anything -- never mind something that’s 11 seasons -- is severely curtailed and monopolized. I’ve watched a fair few things pre-2000s (mainly star trek), but really getting to spend time with a theme, watching it get poked and prodded and dealt with in so many ways throughout the story (and thinking that there are things I wish I had seen more of, like more perspectives from Korean characters, more episodes about Margaret’s increasingly complex relationship to the army, any episode that gives us a new Charles detail, idk... couple more with Sid, RIP we’ll never get that deep-dive into wtf is wrong with BJ) is something you don’t really get the opportunity to do these days. 

I have been somewhat exhausted by every time a new show is the Biggest Best Most Exhilarating Thing lately, so I think I’ll stick around the 60s-80s for a bit (I haven’t watched Columbo since I was a kid and I’ve never seen Magnum P.I.) 

what an odd time this has been. think it was the exact right moment for me to watch this.

A ref for another oc for a friend's book

A young man who was ran out of his own kingdom at 13 by his family due to his cursed power: Rot. He lived on the streets ever since, the rotting scar growing more and more, adding bandages and cloth to hide them.

He finds himself afraid of intimacy for fear of killing others with just a touch and thinks of himself as a monster. The main character finds him endearing and slowly helps him accept this as apart of himself even if he doesn't like it.

3. Least favourite things to draw?

mmmmm mechs and metals, funnily enough I love drawing weapons and armor but just can't deal with mechs esp ugh

that is why I love fantasy bc it usually don't have mechs lol also kyo and most shield hero characters bc holy shit they are so complicated esp that albino bitch

4. Favourite things to draw?

top 3 things would be Howl like characters (see what Elijah and William look like), environments esp greenery and skies, and expressions the way the eyes and how the nose crinkles when we're angry stuff like that very human and stuff :]

5. Anything you haven’t drawn yet but want to?

Animals in a less cartoony way I usually do also classical esqe paintings I always admired the way the skin looks so soft and how the hands looked esp regarding hands holding again the humanity within these paintings is so very mortally immortal idk thats how I'd describe it

17. What inspires you?

A lot, a lot and a lot of things. Could make an essay. Mind if I make an essay?

No? Eh you're still getting one lol

But I think life inspires me, humanity inspires me, my daily relationships even the smallest interaction with an acquaintance. It's love and the hate and the daily struggles and the tragedies we see in the world. And again at the end of the day it's love that inspires me.

And I know this is about paintings and drawings but writing is an art on its own.

And the things I want to write about are all of this including the grief of being human and the blissfulness too.

I'm gonna be real for a second and say this is also based off of my experiences with death and how I've dealt with grief especially since all three were different.

also just ye uh cw death and all that and it might go into some uhhhh ig traumadumpy territory but I promise it's related

One was of somebody that refueled my love of writing and making my own stories and he was honest to god my fucking hero and I wouldn't have gotten to where I am without him.

Thank you Technoblade for inspiring me and alot more people.

It was indirect and I didn't really know him know him, yknow I was just a fan and yet it hit so badly and it still does and just man grief just it never disappears and I can't put it into words yknow

Another was a figure from my childhood, somebody like Techno who I really looked up to and I wish to this day that he got to see me grow up and I could see him and remember him before he got sick and just its a grief of wanting to go back and spend as much time as I wished with him, he was sorta a second father to me

The last and most recent is someone who couldn't control themselves and needed help but the state didn't give it and bc they didn't get the help it ended up hurting the people around them too, tragic and painful and its just so fucked and really fuels my hatred for the state

Anyways after all of that I wanted to write and draw, create something to put all of my feelings about death and grief and my continuing love for life even if it can be shit into something so I wrote Reverie of The Axe Hero and have come up with similar ideas about the struggle of being plainly human

And I think once I'm done with Reverie I think I'll finally heal from this grief, and it may not ever disappear, it never does; but I'll be able to move on. Sorta my own stages of grief if you will.

Hello again, v.o. lin! Apologies for the wait. I just had to collect the records for these after listening to them! ¹

Sanseneon - Starting, off with a fun score! It's so complicated, so layered. Oh goodness, I can almost feel every person's participation in this one!

Scenes from the Emerald Isles - This piece, funnily enough, reminds me of travelling through the vale. Back when Doggerland was still walkable, when one could travel between England and France. I actually didn't mind riding on horseback back then. Crowley was right about horseback being rather rough on the buttocks, but there wasn't often a need to ride quickly unless we had to fight.

Jupiter - Ah, the entire series of pieces from 'The Planets' is a favourite of mine. It's wonderful that humans are so captivated by the universe around them, so much so that they write entire sheets of music about them! Jupiter, in particular, has those elements of grandness. The feeling of something so far away, yet so big that it gives one that urge to explore. I'm rather certain I've heard pieces of this score in the backgrounds of the sci-i films Crowley has watched.

Palmetto Suite - To be able to lounge around in some nobleman's suite. Perhaps while eating food. Or maybe dancing in the great hall with him, while everyone watches. That's the memory this one invokes in me. I can't decide if I'd be wearing a dress or a suit, but either way, it'd be a gorgeous night...

Lion City - Oh, the excitement of this piece really does remind me of my days doing assignments in Asia. Of course, our work has taken us all over the world. It can get very samey, especially now that we've settled down a bit. The bustle of streets in any place is exciting, but the seafood dishes in Singapore are to die for! And the people have always been lovely, to me at least. Now you've got me wanting to visit!

Okay well for starters - GREAT to see you’re back, and on your own terms! I know we all would have happily waited for as long as it took, but I was still SO excited when I woke up and saw that you had posted!

Now, for the actual story! First off, thank you for posting it all in one part (you’re better than me fr), and WOW I just REALLY loved it! The argument broke my heart entirely for R, Alexia was just SERIOUSLY not thinking anything through, I mean my god!

I really, really enjoyed this idea of the analogy of R’s mental pain being shown within the injuries she sustained when using the punching bag. I had to sit there for a second when you drew that comparison because WHEW…genuinely just a phenomenal idea from a literary perspective.

I’m amazed by everything you write, and this was no difference in the slightest! You balanced dialogue with the characters thoughts and emotions exceptionally well, and it makes your stories easy to read and SO enjoyable. It’s an absolute honor to get to read your work, thank you so so much for sharing it with us!

So so blessed to be occupying the same little corner to the internet with someone as talented as you are! 🩵🩵

I was typing with anger in solidarity with R during the argument section, trust me. Funnily enough, that was also the part I wrote last. I couldn't have done it in two parts either, would have annoyed me too much hahaha!

Thank you for picking up on particular parts of the story, and for the very generous compliment of the overall structure. (Tangent warning) when I'm reading through my own writing, it find it so challenging to get a good sense of what the readers will feel because I feel absolutely nothing emotion-wise when reading my own stuff. Whereas when I read other people's stories, I'm overcome with all kinds of thoughts and feelings and that's what I kind of correlate the quality of writing with, how many different emotions and the intensity of them that the author makes me feel.

So before posting I get very nervous because I can't for the life of me gage the quality of my work and figure out if it's good enough before I let it out into the world, but then you came along and left this long, wholesome ask in my inbox and I'm just so happy now. It really made my day, because I've been an avid enjoyer of your stories for a while now and I, embarrassingly, still geek out when I see you and some of my other favourite writers reblog or like or do such things like this. It just really makes a difference and I'll remember this forever, it'll always be in the back of my mind when I'm writing!
