I've been thinking about how different people process large amounts of information.

This was something I was decently good at as a kid; school worked for me! But now, when the boundaries are more amorphous and I'm in charge of defining what I need to know and figuring out how to break it down, my ND brain doesn't always know where to start.

In fact, I don't have an efficient system for myself.

But I do have something that works for me, assuming I have the time I need.

First, I gather the info. This part is fun, especially if I'm dealing with a special interest. Deep dive, infodump into notes or at my husband or whatever.

Then, I organize it. I might type it up; I might make notecards. I might just put all that info into boxes in my mind. Depends on what I'm working on.

Once it's organized, I reorganize it.

Over and over until it sticks.

I've been working on prepping for Gen Con. I'm running games for a publisher, and I have a lot of info to absorb and then teach in a limited amount of time.

I picked the pieces I can be strongest with. That took me a bit, but once I realized what I could be good at, I could somewhat release the other stuff. Nobody can do everything, especially on a tight schedule.

Then I started making notecards. I wrote the name of an action, rule, or ability on one side and its definition or effects on the opposite.

The first time I made the cards, I wrote the name in pencil and the definition/effects in black pen.

Next, I alphabetized them. That helped me make sure I had everything I needed, but it also got me familiar with the most important terms that will come up while I'm trying to run monsters or handle questions.

I split these cards into categories next. Combat actions, reactions, natural abilities, passive abilities, etc. I shuffled through the categories a few times until I had a reasonable number of cards in each one. I didn't want to have a category with just 1 or 2 cards in it.

Now I'm color coding the name side based on category. I'm erasing the penciled-in name and replacing it with Sharpie pen. Brown for general rules, for example. Purple for magic. And so on.

As I do that, I'm reading the back of each card out loud. Then, when I finish a category, I alphabetize it back into the main flashcard deck. When I put the card in its place, I quiz myself on the effects. It's working. By the time I'm done with this round of organizing, I'll have half of these cards memorized. Maybe more.

I tried to do this in high school with court cases for a mock Congress competition. Didn't have the executive function to make it work for me. Couldn't figure out when I had enough info, and I had far too much to memorize by the time I switched to organizing.

So it may be slow, but it's progress. And I'm happy with that!

(and beelzemon is a good partner in terms of ability to shoot down any projectiles that are close to coming astray) - pretty private. really only posts when bullied into it by somebody else up until the casual kids’ league starts and he posts a whole lot of pictures out of pride - a small scale tournament goes viral and the other (former) kids tease him over it - still not the best at communicating his feelings (still puts himself on the backburner generally) with pretty much everyone he’s close to but that’s what sangloupmon is for (as embarrassing as it may occasionally be)

minoru - runs a ranch for the adjusting kemonogami, both ones who want human partners but don’t know where to start and those who aren’t interested. he generally takes care of a lot of day to day functions, like feeding. diatrymon is the size of a large ostrich and a pretty practical partner as a way to get from one end of the ranch to another and to help out with transporting goods. also manages to command respect from most other kemonogami - ends up implementing kaito’s more structured fights, with the added security of varodurumon being able to heal as needed - a number of schools take field trips to the ranch for informational purposes and for kids to potentially find partners. kids love him since he’s still very high energy and keeps up with a lot of kids’ comics - yes he’s 24 and a public figure. no he won’t have a more professional social media presence. majority of his posts are shitpost blackout poetry of the others’ (ie, ryo’s “A lot of kemonogami tend to have behaviors like their plant/animal counterparts! A Share Of The Excitement

Things have been pretty sleepy in the stock markets the last couple of years. No, I am not talking about stock prices, because they have soared. I’m talking about IPOs, those huge media events that usually turn into feeding frenzies among the monied elite with cash to throw.

It’s just that there haven’t been any big splashes in the post-COVID era, until this week when Reddit finally went public. And I say “finally” because they have been around since 2005, and had been hinting at this move for a long time. Naturally, analysts were skeptical that what amounts to a 90s-style discussion board could generate interest.

But it did, opening at $47 a share, up significantly from the target $34 a share. It climbed even farther to $54, and settled in at $46 at yesterday’s closing bell. Not bad for a company that only had $804 million revenues last year. I know. That sounds like a lot of money, but among all the other tech darlings, that is chump change.

Naturally, there were some detractors. Since Reddit functions as a universe of communities headed by volunteer moderators, there has been push-back over the firm seeking to monetize the business. Remember, as with all the social media sites, the general public is the army of content creators, and Reddit, Meta, et al., wouldn’t be able to sell ads if there weren’t eyeballs hungry for that content. Reddit even offered its top moderators and users the chance to buy in on the IPO, which is usually a gated party.

This is much more than us realizing that “if it’s free, then you are the product.” No, we are also the creators of that product. It’s a hell of a deal for the sites, who basically just have to make sure everything keeps running smoothly. The stickiness factor is up to us.

While Reddit started selling ads in 2006, it did not invest in advertising technology until 2018. That’s another way of saying they had no clue what their business model was, other than to be a popular hangout spot for geeks, nerds, and techies. But now they have at least some semblance of a revenue plan, even though they have not posted a profit in their entire existence.

That’s all going to change, though, because investors won’t be having it for long. Expect to see more ads, as well as screw tightening at HQ to trim expenses. That $748 million cash they raised in the IPO wasn’t a donation, you know.

But this may be pretty easy to pull off, once you consider that, as of February this year, Reddit is the third-most visited website in the US, behind Google and YouTube. That’s a lot of eyeballs, even if it is a distant third to the two Alphabet properties.

The content on Reddit has evolved greatly over the years, expanding from esoteric topics to include all manner of things, like home repairs, TV show fandom, and much more. While I find a lot of the discussions both informative and entertaining, I must also say that sometimes the threaded nature of it all can make for tedious navigating.

Still, I too am encouraged by this IPO, maybe not as much from a macro-financial perspective, but rather that social media is still able to muster up investor excitement. It has been a while since anyone went public, like Snapchat in 2017. If TikTok is forced to break away from its Chinese parent ByteDance, I could see them having a successful IPO as well. Reddit may very have primed the pump for this to happen.

Here’s hoping that Reddit can keep its user base and especially its most influential moderators content while it figures out a way to make money. As we know, change is often met with resistance. While there is no other reasonable facsimile of Reddit for the discontented to flee to, that’s not to say a rival couldn’t be created. For those of us on Facebook and Insta, we’ve grown accustomed to—and admittedly a little weary of—ads roughly every sixth frame down the scroll.

And yet we come.

I offer a round of applause to Reddit for pulling off what some said couldn’t be done. The ball is now in their court to show Wall Street they have what it takes to make money.

he brags but he does know when to dial it back for your own privacy and humility. BUT that doesn’t mean he won’t hold your hand in public, or banter with you on a twitter thread even if you both are right next to each other on the couch playing footsie

Q uirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

He has a great eye and is quick to pick up on things. It’s almost as if he has certain senses and can tell when you’re having a bad day or upset. He just knows. It’s incredible. He’ll run you a bath and order cake to indulge yourself in before you even get home.

R omance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?

The most sickley, fluffy, romantic, boyfriend that it makes me sick. Timothee would dye his hair rainbow and cut of his toes if it meant you would smile. On a more romantic note, he pulls out all the stops but it’s a bit more subtle?? Like he is very romantic but it’s not overwhelming. There’s no string quartet and private dining room but there will be jazz and dancing at midnight or a homemade “restaurant” with Timothee as a one man (messy) staff but it’s the best thing you could have ever come home to

S upport - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

He’s your head cheerleader and the most selfless human ever. Will cheer for you until his voice goes mute and even then, he’s the one clapping the loudest and crying the most. 

T hrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?

both! Timothee is like a dog in some ways. He’s energetic and needs new things, to be outside, to be social. But he craves hugs and cuddling, he adores late night talks with you or watching you make him breakfast while he scrolls through Instagram. Like I said, a very domestic guy.

U nderstanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?

He know’s you like the back of his hand and he could spot you with his eyes closed and only by feeling your face. He knows your habits, and the food you hate, your terrible cooking skills, and the kind of dad jokes you tell, the anxiety ticks, and what shows you’ll watch over and over again.

V alue - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?

He’d go insane without you. You’re addictive because you have a pure heart and a dirty mind and he falls in love the more you show that. He brings you back the weirdest things that remind him of you. he aches so bad. He is your cheerleader but he can’t function without you. You’re his cup of coffee, an antidepressant. He’s fangirling inside for your new project but when he sees your mug or reaches to bring you close to his chest and you’re not there, he’s unable to fall asleep or make a cup of coffee.

He’d travel to Mars and back if you asked him to. Just ask him, and he does it. One time, he was working on a movie with an actress who was quite snippy to you and he quit immediately, feeling incredibly guilty and nauseous. A/N: Hi everyone! Helmut Zemo and this idea would not leave me alone. This is my first reader fic and my first fic published on Tumblr, so I would love to hear what you think. This will be a multi-chapter fic, covering Age of Ultron, Civil War, and TFATWS. The first three chapters will cover AOU. Zemo and everyone in this chapter are speaking Sokovian, but it's written in English. It is assumed that the reader’s nickname exists in the Sokovian alphabet.

Chapter 1: Beneath a Fallen Sky (Age of Ultron) - Part 1

Chapter Summary: Everything was normal. Well as normal as it could be in the day in the life of a handler for a Sokovian covert intelligence squad when robots began to attack Novi Grad and things…well, things went downhill from there.

You had met Baron Helmut Zemo years ago, though you hadn’t known he was a baron back then, in what felt like another life and had been by his side ever since. You served as the tech wizard and handler for his team of EKO Scorpions, outfitting them with gadgets, designing their suits and masks, and acting as tech support for their missions. Zemo had jokingly referred to you as Q when you presented him with his purple mask for the first time and to your slight embarrassment it had stuck. No one on the team had called you anything else since.

Now, machines had attacked Novi Grad and you had to do something for Sokovia, for her people. You tried hacking the machines to no avail. You’d get into one and then it would fall over lifeless as though it never worked in the first place. The algorithm was constantly changing and the AI was too complex without your specially designed work equipment, which was currently in your base miles outside the city and not your apartment, so it was time for plan B.

You focused on getting your people out of the city and saving as many civilians as possible. A swarm of robots attacking seemed like something that would attract the attention of the Avengers, but they weren’t here yet and you couldn’t sit idly by waiting for them to arrive. You called the members of your team and reached almost all of them. They were stationed around the city, doing their parts to help civilians as covertly as possible. Your team was not used to doing anything without their masks, which you did not tend to bring home, but this was an extraordinary situation so you would all do what you must.

You had reached everyone, except Helmut. He wasn’t picking up via his phone or his earpiece, and you couldn’t help but worry about him and his family. You had all been called to (well, ordered if you were being technical) to defend the city, but your squad wouldn’t function the same without its leader.

You needed Colonel Helmut Zemo.

This was the first time in a long time that you had been out in the field, preferring to be behind the scenes, but you were capable and skilled enough to be there. Zemo had made sure of it.

Flashback:

You were designing an exploding pen in the lull between missions, just for fun, when you registered Helmut’s presence in the room. You had no idea how long he had been standing there as you often got lost in your head, especially while working on a diverting project. Your brain flitted from one thought to the next and fixated on solving different problems or creating new gadgets. The outside world became a blur to you. Helmut’s voice was one of the few things that could draw you out of it. It had been like that since you first met him. Maybe, it was the timbre of his voice that always seemed to reach you even when you were figuratively miles away. His deep voice was so lovely.

“How useful do you think that would be, my Q?” Helmut’s voice was amused and fond.

You turned to face your best friend ready to excitedly tell him the multitude of uses for the exploding pen in the field, when your breath caught in your throat. Sometimes, it took you aback how handsome he was. He was wearing his military uniform today and he looked too attractive in it. It wasn’t even fair.

His hair often fell on his forehead, giving you the urge to brush it away. It was difficult for you to resist the urge to touch that lock of hair and him in general, but you were succeeding so far. Somehow. You gave yourself a metaphorical pat on the back for that. You thought you deserved it.

A man shouldn’t look so good with a gun in his hand either, even if it was one you designed. There was something undeniably sexy about the way Helmut used your gadgets, which took you so much time and effort to make. He took the time to understand them and utilize their full abilities. It made you feel like he was making the effort to understand you.

His smooth and confident motions were also mesmerizing to watch via the screen, while you directed the squad on missions. You had never allowed yourself to get too distracted by him, but acknowledged the beauty of his savagery that he occasionally employed to get the job done.

It was a toss up between which look you liked better, the military uniform or the dark purple sweater and coat he wore for certain missions. You had made sure that his shoulder holsters fit under it and that everything looked smooth. God, you loved how he looked in that coat. (You would also admit to admiring how the shoulder holsters looked on him too).

You took him in. His hands were encased in black leather gloves and his hair was mussed from his mask, but he looked good like always even having just come back from a mission. You took a glance down at his hands.

No blood this time, thank goodness.

You attempted to snap yourself out of it, hoping Helmut wouldn’t notice. Your brain was being particularly uncooperative today, pointing out everything you shouldn’t notice. Your mind was filled with of images of how it would feel for Helmut to caress and handle you the way he did the guns and gadgets you presented to him, what the leather of his gloves would feel like on your bare skin, and how it would feel to trace the multitude of scars you knew he received from missions not just on his chest but all over his body.

Maybe, it was time to find a new romantic partner that Helmut couldn’t scare away. He had intimidated the last one away within minutes of meeting them, and you hadn’t bothered to try to meet someone since.

What was the point when Helmut vetoed them as soon as you introduced them?

Given some of your current thoughts, it was probably time to do something about the lack of romance in your life. With your luck however, they would take one look at Helmut and run for the hills in both a figurative and literal sense. The man was quietly intimidating at the best of times, but when he actually tried he oozed danger. You almost couldn’t blame your possible partner. Meanwhile, when his full focus and attention were on you, you felt flustered and hot in a way you had never felt with anyone else though you attempted not to show it. You thought that you had been rather successful at that, though who could tell with Helmut? The man might have known about your crush on him for ages, but hadn’t said anything to save your pride.

(Helmut did in fact know and found it adorable. He and Heike had once mused about adding you as a third and equal part of their relationship, because both had seen the way you watched them even if you might not have noticed them watching you back. That reminded him that he needed to bring that up with Heike once more when he returned home. He schooled his face to give nothing away before continuing to watch you as you stayed lost in your thoughts. He would coax you out of it soon, but enjoyed watching your face as your brain worked.)

You attempted to shake your thoughts away again, knowing that at this point if Helmut hadn’t noticed your inattention before then he certainly had now. The man was happily married to a wonderful and gorgeous woman, who you adored, and you were his son’s godparent for goodness sake. You might have had a chance at one point years ago. You had thought your friendship might have become something more, but that had been before Helmut had met Heike.

What chance did you have with a Baron, anyway?

Helmut had stepped closer, while you were lost in your musings and reached for your hand. “Where have you gone Q, darling? Have I lost you in your head again?”

You snapped out of it and almost jumped back because of his new proximity. His brown eyes bored into yours with slight crinkles in the corners, showing his joking mood. You shook your head and hoped again that he didn’t notice the reason for your distraction, though you didn’t have much hope. The man noticed everything.

“I was just thinking about the improvements I could make to the exploding pen and how you all could use it on your missions!” you exclaimed, excitement in your voice and face as you spoke of your work. You hoped your enthusiasm would divert him from questioning what had distracted you.

Helmut chuckled softly and played along, “May I?”. He indicated the pen that was still sitting in your hand. His lips were slightly upturned. He knew how passionate you got about your gadgets.

“Of course, Colonel,” you smirked back and handed him the pen. Your hands brushed, the leather of his gloves caressing your palm.

Helmut stepped closer to the light and examined the pen. “I can already think of several uses for this, my Q, though I did happen to notice something about this particular pen.” He turned on his heel and held the pen up for your perusal as though you hadn’t spent the last hour examining and perfecting it. You played along, leaning closer as if to examine the pen. Helmut loved his games, and you had never been anything but a willing participant.

“Hmm?” you made a questioning sound as you straightened your blazer and looked away to avoid eye contact in the hopes that he would come closer with your faux avoidance of his question.

You heard him step nearer, knowing that he could walk silently if he chose and that he wanted you to hear him. “Look at me, my Q. Where has this shyness come from, hmm?” His hand was on your chin, tilting your head up before you could respond.

At some point, when you weren’t looking, he had taken his gloves off and you had to stifle a shiver as his gun calloused warm hand touched the bare skin of your face. A brief thought crossed your mind of what that hand would feel like elsewhere before he let you go, staying a little too close for your piece of mind.

“There you are,” He smiled at you, a full one that was more rare than you would have liked. “Now, Q, you know what I noticed? This pen,” and here he drew your attention back to the pen by playfully flourishing it like the showman he was, “is one of mine. I am the only one on the team that uses this brand. Do you know how much a Mont Blanc costs, darling?”

You shook your head and smiled sheepishly. You knew vaguely that they were expensive, but it was the best kind of pen for this sort of thing so you hadn’t thought twice. “No, but it was the most sturdy pen and I knew that you, Boss, would be the one most likely to use it once it was done. So I thought you wouldn’t mind if I used your pen.”

Internally, you wanted to laugh. You knew that Helmut would not have let another member of the squad get away with some of the stuff you pulled. You were the only one who called him Boss, though you had experimented with calling him Sir like the rest of your squad. That had brought an odd light to his eyes that you had never been able to quite decipher. He had almost looked hungry. You refrained from calling him Sir too often after that, except when you really wanted something or intended to tease him.

Helmut smirked at you as he slipped the pen into his pocket, “I’ll be keeping this, Q. Usual activation, I presume?”

You smiled back, attempting to stop yourself from bouncing up and down on your heels. He and the rest of the squad always praised your gadgets, but it gave you a secret and special sort of thrill to have Helmut’s approval in particular. “Of course, Boss.”

“Now, for the actual reason I came here before we got so delightfully distracted by the products of your brain, you and I are going to the gun range. I happened to notice you haven’t been there in some time, Q.”

“I’ve been busy,” you protested while knowing he wouldn’t buy it, “Being the team’s handler and tech wizard is hard work.”

You had never enjoyed committing violence yourself, so tended to avoid the range, though you had never minded watching Helmut on his solo missions and as he lead the team on group missions. The thought passed through your head again that the man looked sexier than he should in full uniform with a gun in his hand. You shook your head in an attempt to dislodge your thoughts. You weren’t sure where they had come from today, but you wanted them to stop and stop now. You resolved once again to pursue a new relationship. Helmut was your friend and could not be anything more, no matter your fantasies and dreams.

“I know you work hard, darling Q, and that you can handle yourself, but you must practice in case the worst were to happen and we needed you in the field. I know you have the needed patience, my Q, with your line of work, but you must gain the experience. A person can do anything if they have those. You can do anything… I’ve known that ever since I first met you when you were a young student. How many grades did you skip again? Look how much you’ve accomplished and you’re still so young.”

You ignored his question about the grades you had skipped. You had been something of a child prodigy and had been younger than the average grad student. “Yeah, yeah, Boss and you’re such an old man. Also, I’m not that much younger than you. Do you remember our first conversation in the library?”

“Of course, Q. I’ll never forget it, even when I am actually an old man. You got my attention by your book selections. Machiavelli and hmm what was the second one?”

You noticed again that Helmut truly was in a joking mood today. The mission must have gone well. They hadn’t needed you to act as the handler for this one, but you were glad there’d been no mishaps. Sometimes, after a difficult mission, Helmut brought his field persona back to the base. During those instances, his demeanor gave off the impression of a man who would do whatever necessary to accomplish his goals. No matter what was required. You hated to say it, but when he was like that you were a little turned on. (Well, more than a little but you weren’t going there at the moment). 

You had always had a thing for intelligent and ruthless men, which now that you thought about it had started once you met Helmut, and his domineering field persona made you feel hot. You gave up on controlling your thoughts today as that seemed to be a lost cause, and internally sighed. Heike was a lucky woman.

“You’ll never let that one go, will you? It was for my course. Read one German erotic book or two, and no one ever lets you forget it.”

“Or two, my Q? Who said anything about a second one?”

“No one. Not me. Moving on, anyway you think anyone younger than you is young, Helmut. Also, you look younger than your actual age.”

“Yes, I know. Helps for undercover missions.”

“Of course, it does. Did you even need those glasses you were wearing when we met or were they just there to make you look more studious?”

He laughed and gestured for you to lead the way to the range, not answering your somewhat rhetorical question. “Let’s go, Q. I have to see how rusty you’ve gotten. Afterwards, perhaps if you’re good, I will teach you how to wield a sword.”

“Oh I’ll show you how good I can be, Sir.”

Well, the so-called worst had happened and you were out in the field, facing killer robots of all things. You were working in conjunction with your squad to evacuate and protect neighbors and strangers alike, but it was different being out here as opposed to behind a screen. You had finally been able to reach Helmut, and he had gotten Heike and Carl to safety outside the city with his father on their estate. You had breathed a sigh of relief at that. They would be safe there, and you did not need to worry about them. He had also reported that the Avengers had finally arrived and that they had been able to see them from their car window, which meant that it was time for your squad to finish up and get out of there.

Helmut was elsewhere in the city, and your squad was one of the only ones still in Novi Grad proper, so you were spread thin. Yet you couldn’t help but wish to see Helmut, to embrace him for what could be the last time. You had faith in your squad and the Avengers, but this was your country and your people at stake. That unwavering faith lasted until Novi Grad’s, your home’s, streets began to splinter and the city began to lift from the ground faster than you would have thought possible and no one seemed to be able to stop it, not even “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.”

SFW Alphabet: Enji Todoroki

Before you start, I know, I know. For this one, I’m pretending that he and Rei are divorced (which is frankly what they need and deserve), and he’s the Number One. Please don’t yell at me about how much he doesn’t deserve anything nice.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Enji is very awkward with his affection, especially to you. Quick little hugs, head pats, maybe even a pat on the shoulder. He’s trying not to be overbearing, but he hasn’t even dated before (his engagement to Rei doesn’t count), and he hasn’t shown romantic affection since his first two children were born.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

More willing to be around you, less likely to get annoyed at your antics. You likely became friends after you recognized him on the street and asked for an autograph for a family member, he accidentally broke your only pen, and you just met for coffee to start over.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

When you’re alone together and you sidle up to him, he enjoys cuddling. You’re so small in comparison that he just enjoys curling up to you, but only if you initiate. He doesn’t want to overstep in his first relationship as a single man again.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

He can cook and clean well enough. Even though I imagine him with hired help up until he’s divorced, he knows how to function by himself, especially now that the kids are gone. He’s afraid of settling down again, just because his past still haunts him too much.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Oh, it would kill him to do it. But maybe he’d get too paranoid if you being targeted just to get to him, and he’d sit you down and discuss breaking up for now. He’s not out to break your heart; he wants his loved ones safe. He spends a lot of time avoiding his feelings in the days and weeks following.

F = Fiancé(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Very afraid of commitment again. After the disaster that was his first marriage, even the thought of having children is enough to have him run for the hills. It takes a lot of time and healing for him to even consider marrying someone.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

He tried to be gentle with you, but sometimes his brash personality can seep out. He feels awful every time it happens and tries to make it up to you, but for the most part, he’s been successful at being careful. His touches are light, as if you were made of glass.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

He appreciates hugs from certain people. He enjoys when his daughter hugs him, and it makes his day when Shouto hugs him. He doesn’t initiate them with you, waiting for you to make a move. As soon as you hug him, though, his arms are wrapping around you like a big, warm, muscley blanket.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

It happens during a villain attack in your first year of friendship, when he realizes he’s both in love with and terrified of losing you. As soon as you’re safe he’s hugging you tight, saying “Don’t scare me like that, I love you”.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

He can get jealous easily, especially when you’re around people like Toshinori. He knows you can do so much better than him, and some part of him wants to let you go free, but then he realizes he doesn’t want you to leave.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

His kisses are shy, yet passionate, and he often goes for your forehead. He likes it when you kiss his face, especially when you tenderly kiss his scar.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

He’s, admittedly, not as good around children. Not unless it involves training in some way. He just doesn’t have the patience or endurance to keep up with them these days.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

He gets up earlier than you do, due to his work as a pro. He might wake you up to eat breakfast with him, but otherwise he leaves you a note and a plate of food, detailing when he thinks he’ll be back.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Usually tries to make it for dinner, but always ends up collapsing into bed with you, just holding you close.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

He’s hesitant at first, given that he doesn’t want you to run off the minute you learn of his past as an abuser. It takes a lot of mutual trust before he can really open up to you, and even then he worries you’ll leave him. He starts off by peppering little things about his kids here and there, maybe some things he likes.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

This is Enji we’re discussing. Of course he’s got a temper. He tries to keep his cool these days (trust me, he was way worse before as his family can attest to), but now he’s got a better handle on his temper. He still gets irritated easily, but he doesn’t rage like he used to. Not unless he’s facing a villain.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He remembers what he can. As we’ve seen, he has a pretty good memory about little things (think Rei’s flower), so if you tell him you like or dislike something, he’s going to remember it.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Honestly, his favorite moment was when he first discussed his past with you. You’d cried as he told you of the horrible things he did and what he was doing to atone for it, and when you said you’d support him in his path to redemption, it really touched his heart.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Extremely protective, to the point where he would voluntarily end the relationship if it meant you were safe (though that’s largely rooted in his own insecurities). But sometimes he just wants someone to hold him and reassure him too.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He puts everything he has into your relationship. Tries to make time for dates, gives you breakfast in bed on your birthday, every once in a while giving you little trinkets... he’s also used to doing chores on his own, so don’t be surprised if he does most of the work around the house now that it’s just him.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Oh geez, where to start? He’s still got a temper that tends to flare up on bad days. If he gets too deep into his own self-loathing he’ll go a few days without even seeing you, instead sleeping at the agency and doing work from there. Real touchy about the subject of kids/marriage/his past and will stubbornly refuse to talk about it, sometimes to the point of fighting. Too prideful to admit his misdeeds sometimes. Drinks in the evenings to numb some of the pain. Spends way too much time in the gym and often neglects his own health.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He does what needs to be done. Trims stubble, makes sure his hair is combed, takes extra care with his clothing... he wants to keep up the facade that he’s got everything together in public. When he’s alone, shirtless and sweatpants for days babey.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Depends on how far in the relationship you are. In the beginning, he’d be sad, but he would learn to push the pain down. Later on, though, he wouldn’t want you to leave. He likely wouldn’t get into another relationship after you, focusing instead on his work.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

I mean, I know this is already kinda canon, but he is a very Proud Dad. In order to make up for all that he missed, he likes to keep track of his kids’ accomplishments and if you get him drunk enough he melts into this puddle of pride as he boasts about how great they’ve become. Has about dozen framed pictures of his family (and two of just Rei, one when she was discharged from the hospital and one on the day the divorce was finalized) in his bedroom and office that he looks at whenever he’s lonely.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Anyone not willing to keep him in check. That would be the big one. Anyone too judgmental and/or just plain mean. Anyone who likes to poke at his insecurities just to watch him explode. Especially not anyone who gushes about other heroes all the time (especially not Toshinori).

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

He tries to keep a fairly-regular sleep schedule. He usually ends up going to bed fairly late and waking up early. Sometimes if he gets a chance to take a break during the day he’ll nap depending on how exhausting it’s been.

The wedding itself would have to be rather small as he is a villain so it would be difficult to have anything too extravagant but he will try and make it perfect for you however he can.

Shiggi would much rather stay in to have a date night with you as he doesn’t enjoy being out all to much but every now and then for a special occasion he would be willing to take you out somewhere rather simple for a date.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Shigaraki would start opening up more about himself much later into the relationship as he doesn’t feel comfortable talking about himself or his past much and he doesn’t want to scare you off with his past. 

He would most likely say everything about his past at once so he wouldn’t have to talk about it again with you.

P = Playful (How playful are they?)

Shiggi can be pretty playful with which isn’t something you would have thought of him to begin with. He can be a pretty silly guy with a decent sense of humour, he can always make you laugh somehow.

Q = Questions (Do they ask for your opinion on things? Will they share theirs?)

Shigaraki does value your opinion on things as you mean so much to him so he will always be asking you questions, he also just likes asking you questions so he can hear your voice.

He will give his opinion on almost everything whether it was asked for or not.

R = Random (How spontaneous are they? Do they do things on the spot or do they have to plan ahead?)

Shiggi is very spontaneous as he is a sleep deprived man child who doesn’t like thinking everything through. He enjoys being able to do random things with you for no reason at 3am

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Shigaraki is very protective of you because you mean the world to him and he is not willing to let you get hurt in anyway. He will kill anyone yo make sure you stay safe.

He would rather you didn’t try to protect him as it makes him worry about your safety.

T = Trust (How much do they trust you?)

Shigaraki trusts you with his life, he wants you to trust him the same.

U = Unique (What makes them unique as an s/o?)

Shiggi is unique in many ways, not all are good. Other than being an emotionally stunted touch starved man child he is insanely protective and will do anything in the world for you. 

V = Vent (Do they let you vent to them after a hard day? Will they vent to you?)

Shiggi is a surprisingly good listener and he is always willing to listen to you mainly because he loves you but also because he loves the sound of your voice.

He is more than willing to vent to you about the league or someone who beat him in a video game and he expects you to listen to him the whole time or else he will sulk.

W = Wild Card (Random Headcanon)

Shigaraki really enjoys taking showers or baths with you as they feel really intimate and he enjoys basking in your warmth in the water.

He also loves when you wash his hair real softly.

X = X-ray (What would they do if you got injured?)

Shigaraki will go ballistic. He will kill whoever hurt you in a painful way and will lecture you on being safer. If it was an accident you did by yourself he will get angry at you for not being careful

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

He wouldn't like anyone who tries to change him in any way. You either take him as he is or not at all. 

Z = Zzz (What’re some sleeping habits of theirs?)

Shiggi basically never sleeps, he has nightmares too often. The only time he will be willing to sleep is when you are with him otherwise he will avoid it as much as he can.

1 different interpretation of “the 1”

A companion piece to this.

When I first heard “the 1,” I got a rather intense musical itch. Consider this essay to be me scratching it. Enjoy, or don’t, and thanks for reading!

Note: I’ve tried my best to simplify some technical parts music theory, but my sincerest apologies in advance if the translation still seems clunky. My hope is that if this essay doesn’t make musical sense to you, it will at least make linguistic sense. The only prerequisite knowledge you need is that scales exist and a song is made from minor and major chords.

There are a shocking number of connections between “peace” and “the 1.” One of my favorites is a very subtle musical one. Like “peace,” I propose that “the 1” could be imagined as a conversation. The difference in perspective is again telegraphed by what the piano and bass are doing.

Here are some musical facts about ”the 1:”

This song is in the key of C major, which means that the C major chord is the sonic ‘home base.’ It is is the chord to which every other one ‘resolves,’ or quite literally returns. (In fact, this chord accounts for exactly half the chords in the song.)

The verses and prechoruses are constructed with two alternating chords, (1) either F major or D minor, and then (2) C major. This creates a kind of ‘push and pull’ effect, of harmonic tension and release. (You don’t need any musical training to feel this effect. Just focus on the first 10-ish seconds of the song.)

All of the chords in the song are made up of three notes. The F major and D minor chords share two of the same notes; both chords are thus as similar as two chords could be. Substituting one for the other is a very common trick. These chords are similar enough that Taylor wouldn’t need to sing different notes over them to sound good. Indeed, she doesn’t, and several chord substitutions in “the 1” sneak by as Taylor goes on her merry melodic way.

In “the 1,” the substitution of D minor for F major does not happen at the same point in the verses/prechoruses. The D minor to C major progression happens in the seventh and eighth lines of the first verse, but the fifth and sixth of the second. It also happens in the third and fourth lines of the first prechorus. The second prechorus is only long enough to allow the F-C progression.

Chord substitutions exist mostly to make music interesting. If they do exist, they usually follow predictable patterns. The last observation above is…itchy.

Most people are taught that chord quality is emotive: major chords are happy and minor chords are sad. Perhaps Taylor is trying to highlight that the lyrics with substituted chords are especially sad. Here are the lyrics associated with the F-C progression:

I'm doing good, I'm on some new shit

Been saying "yes" instead of "no"

I thought I saw  you at the bus stop,

I didn't though

I hit the ground running each night

I hit the Sunday matinée

These are the lyrics with D minor instead:

These lyrics are sad, but I don’t see why these lines would be picked over others. All of the lyrics are pretty depressing. Plus, if Taylor really wanted to make the song sad with minor chords, she would have added a lot more.

Emotion doesn’t explain the different positions of the minor chords in the verses. What could?

Recall “peace.” Observations about the bass and piano in that song, especially their musical independence/interdependence with respect to lyrics, led to the conclusion that the piano represents Taylor and the bass represents Karlie. These instruments also suggest two perspectives in “the 1.”

However, “the 1” is more sonically dense than “peace.” The arrangement of “the 1” makes perspective shifting more complicated than ‘the piano plays independently here, therefore Taylor is talking.’ Instead, we discover perspective shifts when considering deviation from the harmonic ‘norm’ of the song. (This is not a real musical term, but rather an English approximation of how our brains/ears interpret the chord progressions of “the 1.”)

The chord substitution is the first example of deviation from the norm. F major and D minor function differently in harmonic progressions because the bass note changes (from F to D). The effect of substituting D minor for F major is that the release of harmonic tension, the ‘pull’ or resolution back to C major of the first chord’s ‘push,’ is less satisfying. That is, a bass note of F exhibits a stronger ‘push,’ so the ‘pull’ back to C is far more compelling to the ear. (Look no further than terminology for an explanation. F major to C major is an example of the beautiful “amen” cadence, a chord progression so nicknamed because it’s found at the end of many hymns.)

Per the lyric split above, Person One gets the F-C progression while Person Two gets the D-C progression.

The second example of deviation from the harmonic norm is the movement of the bass note in first and second halves of the chorus.

Consider the first half of the chorus. The bass note follows the chords at the beginning of this section. The first two chords are A minor and C major, so the bass plays A and C. Like in the rest of the song, the chords in the rest of this section alternate: F major, C major, D minor, C major. (The notes aren’t really that important, just the back-and-forth behavior.) This time, however, the bass note doesn’t hop around with the alternating chords. It walks down part of the C major scale: F, E, D, C. (Again, the notes matter less than the movement. This is a part of the song where the bass doesn’t do what the piano is doing.) The bass movement in the first half of the chorus is summarized as ‘hopping, then walking down.’

The second half of the chorus features a bass that just walks down the C major scale: A, G, F, E, D, C. The only difference between the halves of the chorus lies in the first two chords, A minor and C major. This time the bass plays A and G, not A and C. 

This bass line appears in only the second halves of the first two choruses, but the entire bridge and last chorus.

The difference between the two halves of the chorus is simple in alphabetical terms but sneaky to the ear.

The alternating chords throughout the song make C major a strong sonic home base which the ear absolutely does not want to leave. (Pretend the ear is a person who doesn’t like to stray out of their comfort zone.) The bass has to leave C to make the music interesting at all, so it facilitates a sonic reward system. The first half of the chorus offers almost instant payoff for straying from the key’s chord: A is immediately followed by C. This placates the ear, if you will, and makes the walk down the scale more acceptable. The ear gets tricked into believing it will get to return to its comfort zone, to C, if it just waits a little while while the bass walks. So consider this first section the bass’s way of expanding the ear’s comfort zone.

The bass then can be a little more audacious. It walks down the better part of the C major scale in the second half of the chorus. Even though the chords above the bass line alternate with our home base chord of C major, the bass takes the long, long way back home to C. (Essentially, this harmonic progression is a tease because it takes its sweet time to fully resolve.) Still, this walking line isn’t as jarring as it could have been, because the bass eased the ear into accepting a long walking line during the first half of the chorus.

Remember that the walking bass line is ultimately what separates the bass from the piano. The long, meandering bass line in the second half of the chorus therefore constitutes deviation from the harmonic norm.

We apply this idea to the lyrics. The chorus is first Person One’s question:

But we were something, don't you think so?

Roaring twenties, tossing pennies in the pool

And if my wishes came true

It would've been you

And then Person Two’s answer:

In my defense, I have none

For never leaving well enough alone

But it would've been fun

If you would've been the one

In summary, the harmonic progression of “the 1,” defined more by the bass line and not the piano chords on top of it, splits the song between two speakers. The verses and prechoruses are split unevenly. The first two choruses are split in half, with Person One speaking first and Person Two following. Person Two sings the bridge and last chorus.

I’ll be the first to concede that using an observation about “peace” to prove the same thing about “the 1” might be circular logic. It’s crucial, however, to recognize that all of this musical magic is very, very sneaky and probably not accidental—especially because deviation from the harmonic norm of “the 1” does not follow a simple (i.e. localized) pattern.

Who is Person One and who is Person Two?

Perhaps Taylor is Person One because the “new shit” is the “shit” she talks with her friends in “peace.” Perhaps she’s Person Two, who “never [leaves] well enough alone” in both “the 1” and “ME!” (This depends on your interpretation of “ME!” though.) If Karlie is the bass, does that mean she’s talking when the bass is doing something normal or something different? I have my own opinion, but in the spirit of the song, I’ll leave it open for your own interpretation.

The takeaway from this exercise isn’t that the novelty of a song increases because there are multiple perspectives in it. Many of Taylor’s songs allow room for interpretations of just one perspective as well as many. (I adore “the 1” as a solo breakup song.) Nor must all songs featuring piano and bass be conversations. The bass is critical for the style of “Lover,” for example; most people, myself included, regard that song as from Taylor’s perspective. To me, “peace” and “the 1” simply highlight one interesting, beautiful way of telegraphing multiple perspectives. Taylor has introduced multiple perspectives by creating lyrical connections and collaborating with artists who trade verses with her. Just as literal voices clarify who is speaking, it seems reasonable that instrumental voices could too.

One final thing. The melody and chords of a song bounce around a scale, which establishes the key of the song. In this case, the melody and harmonies are all made of notes in the C major scale; the song is ‘in’ C major. Different combinations of notes in the scale make different chords, like F major, D minor, A minor, and of course the C major chord, home base. Each chord can be represented by the single scale note upon which it’s built (e.g. F, D, A, C). This note is called the ‘root.’ It’s usually (though not always, as we saw) what the bass plays.

Scales are ordered. Musicians like to label chords with numbers based on where the root note falls in the scale order. The chord made from the very first note of the key—in this case, the C major chord, the thing to which Taylor always returns—is literally called “the 1.”

8tracks Backup

Edited 1/7/2020 to reflect that the new workbook can open your 8tracks folder and fix errored playlists you’ve already run with just a few clicks, which I hadn’t realized until I had time to use it myself!

The following is the new, up-to-date as of 1/6/2020 version of this reblog chain with extraneous and out-of-date information removed and a link to and information on the new workbook.

After 8tracks announced, with only a few days’ notice, that it was shutting down on 12/31/2019, an effort was made to preserve as many playlists as possible. The original 8tracks backup macro by VidderAdmin was downloaded over a hundred times across multiple continents, and the information from thousands of playlists was saved. Go fandom!

However, it turns out that 8tracks is staying up a bit longer—though we have no way of knowing how long—which leaves more time to save playlist information. To this end, VidderAdmin and the team that formed to work on this created a new macro workbook that fixes some issues and improves functionality.

The Updated Macro Workbook

- FIXED: playlists with Unicode producing 0kb files (and helps rerun files that failed)

- FIXED: missing images (and helps rerun files that failed)

- IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY: helps rerun failures, allows user to choose folders to download to and to download to subfolders by fandom tag specified by user, accounts for extraneous text at the end of URLs without the user needing to ctrl+f and delete it, checks folders to ensure every text file has a matching image and reruns those without

You will need to have macros enabled to run the spreadsheet; here’s how to enable macros. Side note: genuinely friendly PSA that macros are default-disabled in Excel for a reason. Macro viruses can send and delete files and be computer-destroying levels of dangerous; always be careful what you choose to download and run!

So, do you need to re-run URLs you’ve already saved?

One of the main (and hardest to spot) issues in the original pre-New-Years macro was that JSON files (where the tracklists are) were coming out blank for playlists whose information included Unicode (pretty much anything not in the Roman alphabet; for example, Japanese lettering and Chinese characters).

EDITING TO ADD: I wrote the below struckthrough text before I’d used the new macro workbook, and I hadn’t yet realized that it has a sheet that quickly finds and re-runs the errored playlists in your 8tracks folder (and/or whichever other folders you point it at, if you’ve organized playlist files into multiple folders). It took me less than an hour to use it to fix all the errored playlists out of the over 6,000 total playlists I’d already run! So, my errored playlists from running the first macro are fixed, and if you have errored playlists from running the first macro, it should take just a few clicks and less than an hour’s running time to fix them. :)

So if you want to make sure that closer to all of the playlist URLs you ran through the macro have their tracklists saved, especially for tags/fandoms with many playlists with Unicode (for example, anime fandoms), you may want to re-run them with the new macro (which also has some convenient ways of finding the errored playlists).

However, don’t despair if you won’t have time to re-run URLs; having already saved a majority is much better than nothing having been saved! (If you don’t have time, you can also share your URLs with us at the email above in case someone has time to run them on the new macro, though please know that we may not have time to get to them. Please include a note that they were already run with a previous version—thanks!)

A note for folks who sent me, starfleetdoesntfirefirst, URLs to run: As I mentioned in another post, back in the days of the first macro I was able to get to some or all of what each person sent, but may not have time to get to all of what each person sent depending on when 8tracks shuts down. However, I almost definitely won’t have time to use the new macro to re-run Unicode-containing and other errored playlists I already ran. I’ll pass them along to the rest of this team, but given that none of us can guarantee we’ll get to them before 8tracks shuts down, if you feel strongly about making sure everything you sent to me gets re-run with the new macro, it may be worth pinging your Excel-having friends for aid. (I apologize for this; I didn’t anticipate things getting to this stage rather than a quick pre-New-Years effort!)

How to record & check (some of) which 8tracks tags have already had their playlists extracted

This Dreamwidth post is a place where you can comment to record which 8tracks tags, from any fandom (or nonfandom topic like “autumn”), you have extracted the URLs from, and check which 8tracks tags others have already extracted the URLs from, to avoid unnecessarily duplicating work. (You don’t need a Dreamwidth account to comment!) Not everyone who is extracting URLs is going to know about this post, so no guarantees of avoiding duplication, but it’s a start. :)

How to extract playlist URLs for use with the workbook

Instructions by @meeedeee adapted by me:

1) Do a tag search on 8tracks (or go to your own “liked” or “already listened” page if those are the playlists you want to save). Scroll to the very bottom of the page (so that all playlists have loaded and actually appeared on the page).

Note that if your tag has more than 1000 results, 8tracks will still only grab 1000.

2) Use a link-extracter plugin (like this one for Chrome) to extract all the links on the page.

3) Filter for links with the word “play” in them. This will pull up only the actual playlists. (There were 54 playlists tagged “Nyota Uhura,” and as you can see in the screencap, adding the filter “play” gives exactly 54 results.)

4) Copy into spreadsheet.

Note on Archive Team’s effort

Archive Team is also attempting to archive as many playlists as they can, by random number rather than by tag due to 8tracks’s 1000-playlist limit in tag search. These will probably be stored on the Internet Archive as WARC files, which means that it will be harder for non-power-users to access playlist info, thus our continuing this separate effort.

Per @meeedeee: As a result they dropped trying to archive by tags, instead they’re running 3.5 million random numbers in the hopes of grabbing what they can. On the back end of 8tracks, the playlist data is not stored by URL, or by tag, but by unique numeric identifier. Because of the volume that they have to run, the Archive Team will not be archiving the “look and feel” (user profile icons). Only basic metadata (playlist, user name, comments) and cover art. I know this man is practically married to the grind, but there’s not enough love for him and it’s honestly sad to (not) see.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Not very affectionate. The most you’ll likely get is a pat on the head or his hand on your shoulder. If he’s feeling better than usual, you might get him to hold your hand. He’s more of a verbal affirmation type rather than a physical one.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Your unlikely friendship likely started in the bar. You wandered in, not really knowing where you were, and asked for a drink. You eventually revealed that you were looking for work (you’d recently lost your job due to a hero accidentally destroying your workplace and they just dismissed everyone), so he spoke to Sensei about it and later took you in. He’s not particularly chatty, but being around him feels comforting. He listens to your small talk and might offer some of his own from time to time.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Not a very cuddly person. The most he’ll do is sit you in his lap. He accepts hugs, but doesn’t go out of his way to instigate them.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Doesn’t care about settling down, not while he still looks after Shigaraki. He can cook fairly well, but while good at it, doesn’t bother as much with cleaning; the League members do what they can where they can, and he keeps his area neat.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

He’d just tell you. It’s likely that, if you were to remain with the League, you’d get a talk about not letting feelings get in the way of your duties. If you chose to leave, Sensei might have a few parting words for you...

F = Fiancé(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Like I said before, not looking to settle down. It’s likely that he’d never marry (and not just because he’s a villain) just because he’s fully committed to his job.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

While Kurogiri is relatively standoffish, he treats you gentler than with the rest of your crew. He might let his hand linger near yours and might give you head pats more often, and while his voice is still aloof, there’s a hint of softness in it - just for you.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

He doesn’t particularly care either way. If you hug him, he lets you, likely patting your back or head. He doesn’t initiate them often, but when he does, they’re tight embraces with a hint of longing.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

Doesnt say it until later in your time together. It’s likely that you said it first, and then he thought about it and said it back.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Doesn’t get jealous. At all. He gets vaguely annoyed when he sees you with someone he deems troublesome, but other than that, not a single peep.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

You don’t kiss often. Usually you initiate, but when he’s worried about losing you, he might pull you in for a quick one, one that tastes of ozone. He tolerates little pecks here and there, usually on his face, but he usually likes to kiss across your knuckles.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

He can tolerate children quite well, having been around since Shigaraki was a child.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

He gets up first, quite early so that he can start the day. By the time you awake, he’s already up, dressed, and has made breakfast for those who are around. He’s so quiet that you never catch him.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

He goes to bed late, once everything is done and the others are asleep. Chances are, you fall asleep before he does, and when he gets into bed he might observe you for a little bit before drifting off.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Doesn’t reveal much, just that he’s Shigaraki’s watcher. There really isn’t much to talk about anyway. What’s he gonna tell you? Memories he doesn’t currently have about being a hero in training a decade and a half ago?

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Extremely patient. You literally never see Kurogiri mad. It would be unnerving if he wasn’t, well, y’know.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He remembers what you mention to him. He’s often too busy to really observe you, so you telling him things about yourself is more useful in the long run.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

His favorite moment would be when you got raided by heroes, and yet you stayed to try and defend the League. You could’ve walked away with All Might, but you didn’t. When you later told him you cared about the LOV too much to go, he knew he made the right choice in letting you stay.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

He’s protective over everyone in the League, and you are no exception. Luckily he can just warp you away so you don’t have to get hurt. Or hurt yourself trying to protect him.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He does what he can. If you want a date, he’ll try to find free time. For your birthday, he gets you a little something. For holidays (which are mostly the other members begging to celebrate), he might give you a present like candy or something.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

He tends to put his duties above your wants. You will always come second when it comes to his loyalty, and if Sensei ordered you gone, as reluctant as he would be, he would do it.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Doesn’t care. He doesn’t have to care. He does take care in keeping his suit pristine, though.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Honestly? No. Even before he met you he was fully committed to supervising Shigaraki, and in the end he’ll find it easier to let go than you’d think.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

I feel like he would have a fluffy bathrobe and slippers. Like maybe one of the League got it for him as a joke gift, but he liked it enough to wear it in his down time. Then Toga thought he looked cute and wanted one, and then Twice thought it looked comfy so he wanted one, and long story short now the whole League has matching bathrobes/slippers.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Can fall asleep quickly and wake up too. He can function on very little sleep, but chooses to go to bed as soon as he can and wake up earlier than everyone else. Usually he wakes up around 5:00-5:30 AM. On some nights he’s dead asleep by 11.
