Thinking about how Illario expects his cousin to be the silent, brooding killer. About how Lucanis has never had a serious friendship outside House Dellamorte, and he's also just spent a year imprisoned, so of course Illario would assume Lucanis is still unsociable and awkward. He's always been that way. Thinking about what if Illario asks the other companions about Lucanis when they stop by the Cantori Diamond, and has to do a double take when someone says, "Oh yeah, Lucanis is hilarious. Always has something funny to say."

And Illario is like??? Lucanis? My cousin Lucanis? Is making people laugh? On purpose?

Bellara goes on a tangent about the book she's reading, and how Lucanis had such a good interpretation of the villain's motivations and it made the ending so much sadder! She's never been in a book club before, she's so happy Lucanis suggested it.

And Illario quietly mouths the words "book club" to himself because, aside from contracts, when has Lucanis ever joined any kind of club?

Then if an unromanced Emmerich starts dating Strife, he nearly gives Illario whiplash with the comment "Lucanis gives excellent romantic advice, especially with gifts." Because surely we can't be talking about the same Lucanis. The same Lucanis who has never been in a relationship, and the one (1) time he tried to flirt with Viago -- by *sending a gift* specifically -- Viago either ignored it or took it as a threat. Did the demon do this? Can demons make their hosts charismatic?

Davrin calls Lucanis a "fun drinking buddy." Harding appreciates how concerned Lucanis is that she's being fairly compensated for her services. Offers to lend her his contract negotiator, show her what other people are charging for the same services, he's really so sweet.

And a romanced Rook. Most people make insanely hot Rooks, so Illario watches, completely baffled, as Lucanis manages to pull that. Or if not that, Neve Gallus. Just. how?? Lucanis made one step out of the Ossuary and fell into a Pit Of Friends. All it took was like one month away from Caterina's influence (and the prison) to turn Lucanis into a guy everyone likes being around. How did this happen. When. How the hell is Illario suppose to defeat his cousin if his cousin is armed with the power of friendship? (He can't. Illario is very much defeated by Lucanis' power of friendship.)

This is Two-Wheel Drive. He’s a hyena who lost the use of his hind legs (from to a lion attack, if I’m not mistaken) and he is THRIVING.

You might think a paralyzed animal wouldn’t be able to survive but you’d be wrong cuz he’s still with his clan, he can still walk long distances, and food is still an option for him (It only isn’t if you lose your jaw). He’s as confident as ever! I think he’s even MORE respected in his clan!

I love characters like this. Even though I’m not in any way disabled myself, it’s a great message to teach people that just because someone is permanently in a wheelchair or smth it doesn’t mean they’re not as capable of doing what they love. I guess it can also teach people that while it’s nice to help, sometimes people can get along just fine without it.

At some point when it is not 1 am on a work night I'm going to make a proper post about why I think people who are really enjoying the storytelling of Misfits and Magic 2 should give The Maid and the Crocodile by Jordan Ifueko a shot but the most concise pitch I can give you is that TMTC is also a story about a magical world undergoing a revolution, that explores themes about systems of power and the ways those systems work to exploit certain people to the benefit of others.

The main character Sade is literally disabled by these systems and her love interest/deuteragonist is an obnoxiously beautiful man who has literally cursed himself in pursuit of justice against these systems.

Also for everyone who liked the shadow possession thing- they have a magical bond that let's him feel her emotions, which is absolutely necessary because Sade would rather die than admit to being uncomfortable. In fact Sade's willingness to accept discomfort (and the willingness of the powerful to ask her and others like her to shoulder discomfort so they don't have to) plays a pretty big part in the story.

Lastly, and this is actually an appeal to all my fellow Bob stans from PoL, there are a lot of songs involved in the magic in this book and the audiobook narrator sings all of them. Not in a very polished, instrumental backed way but just in a way that feels true to someone making up a song on the spot.

It's a standalone story in the universe of author's main duology so there's more to explore if you want but it's not necessary to understand this book.

It’s interesting to me that sam losing his soul is considered by Dean (and the narrative tbh) something that’s Sam’s fault, even tho it was explicitly castiel’s fault for pulling sam out of the cage without his soul intact. it’s also something that continuously gets thrown back in sam’s face whenever Dean and him argue, which sorta rubs me the wrong way considering sam isn’t really responsible for the things he did without a soul and he’s even less responsible for losing his soul in the first place. sam’s a victim of the situation yet he’s treated as if he’s the perpetrator. It’s HIS fault he was soulless, it’s HIS fault his bodily autonomy was violated. Which is. Just,, weird. idk.

Cherry and Pony becoming friends post-canon is actually so important to me. (Even if, as far as I know, it's not actually canon.)

Like the picture perfect soc girl, the queen of Socs, is friends with the greaser that was involved in her boyfriends death.

They both understand each other, and help each other see the world from different perspectives.

I'm seriously considering writing a fanfic with Ariga Skull Man and Fully Charged Drill Man.

Once again, I know it's a weird concept. FC and Megamix have VERY different tones. But I think that's part of the appeal for me. I think the two could find a bit of common ground, at least in my head. I have some interesting ideas for them, I think. It would just be the two having some time alone reflecting about their lives together. (It wouldn't be a romance either. Purely platonic. Like Skull Man is meeting his brother in another universe).

I make no promises it'll happen, but I want to try and commit to this. It's a niche concept I'm fond of. I think an interaction between them would be so fun and interesting.

infinite doodles 31-40. i cannot for the life of me remember who designed that eggman empire general au infinite but it was someone on twitter. a good amount of all the infinites i drew for this campaign were based off of user requests actually, which im very thankful for bc sometimes its hard to think of poses or subjects to base doodles off of every single day lol. i definitely reused poses quite a bit whenever i had to scribble out a drawing before going to work or something. you can usually tell when i was rushing bc its like. standard 3/4 angle, standing, looking somewhere in the distance or at the viewer, arms crossed or at his sides or with one hand up. old reliable tbh
