Fenton, the Ghost Hunter Hero

So! When Danny first saw a Ghost attacking his school, he was still terrified of his parents finding out about his Powers.

He looked exactly the same in his Ghost Form, sounded the same, he even had the Hazmat Suit his parents had custom made for him on as a Ghost. There was no way anybody wouldn't immediately find him out if he tried to stop Lunch Lady with his Powers, it was so obvious!

But he couldn't just leave her there. She had crossed through the Portal that he opened, and was attacking his friends. He needed to stop her somehow!

So he tried, he just didn't use his Powers. He stole a bunch of his parents Inventions, fixed the broken ones so they actually worked, and ran in to stop Lunch Lady as a Human. The battle lasted far longer than he would have liked, but eventually he managed to stop her and shove her into the Thermos.

And from there on out, he just kept doing it. Danny became the Town's defacto Hero, since his parents were too Incompetent and he had the ability to actually beat the Ghosts, he had to protect the people he had endangered.

Soon enough people began to notice his Heroics. Mr Lancer didn't stop him when he ran out of the classroom, Dash stopped shoving him in Lockers, and his parents were Ecstatic when they found out he had gone into the "Family Business".

He still kept his Ghost Form hidden from his parents and the Public though. It was still too dangerous.

He only ever used his Ghost Form while in the Ghost Zone so he could blend in, and avoid being attacked by the multiple Ghosts who he had forced back in there. Danny Fenton was a Ghost Hunter, Phantom was just another Ghost wandering the Ghost Zone.

(Though he did gain some infamy by defeating some powerful ghosts, like Aragon or Plasmius)

Years down the line, Fenton remained the respected Ghost Hunting Hero of Amity Park, his greatest accomplishment being the defeat of Pariah Dark, the Ghost King.

That battle had actually drawn outside attention to the town for a change, and it wasn't long before Danny was offered a spot on the Justice League's Junior Team. It wasn't every day when the evil Ruler of another Dimension was defeated by a non-powered Human, so it actually sparked some interest in the Town.

Unfortunately, Danny couldn't accept the Invitation.

If he joined the Justice League, it ws only a matter of time before one of their multitude of Magic Users realized the truth and outed him as a Ghost. He couldn't take that chance.

He was content staying as a small town Hero dealing with a "minor" Ghost Problem, no need to overcomplicate matters.

That is, until the JL contacted him again a few months later. Apparently, their Time Travelers had warned of an Evil Ghost known as Phantom, who would one day grow so powerful he would destroy the world and leave it in ruins. They needed his help as an expert Ghost Hunter to track down Phantom, for the safety of the world.

Problem. This version of Danny had never actually met Dan, since his history went so differently. Now he is terrified of what event could have led to him becoming the Worst Supervillain in History.

Guilt consumed Vincent whenever he lied to Renee. Vincent thought it was risky to let her know about investigating the secret basement with Isaac. She'd want to help and that meant gathering unwanted attention from the police and the media. When they arrived, Vincent sat there in his car, shoulders slumped. He tried to think. He strained to think. But seeing his childhood home only triggered traumatic events from his past, obscuring all his plans for the day.

"Isaac…I don't think I'm ready today," he said, hiding the tremor in his voice. "It's okay, we can take our time to solve it," Isaac had his own nerves seeing Vincent's childhood home; they were facing the unknown after all. "I'm ready whenever you are."

How about Ford hijacking Stan’s roadtrip plans in an attempt to bond with his baby brother? Ford is really trying, but Stan thinks he just doesn’t trust him to look after the kids. Or to drive. Which is ironic, considering Ford hasn’t driven anything like a car since Steve ate his car when he first moved to GF.

They just look like your typical family on vacation with the dad trying to bond with his moody teenager.

22. “The children were eager to behold my blood”

Obi-Wan’s eyes darted about, taking in the lack of anyone in the hall.  He knew that the Force said there was no reason to be concerned, that Wad’e and Kal were distracting any of the Kaminii so the eyayade could be the children they were instead of the products the Kaminii wanted them to be.  And yet…

The lack of anyone was concerning.  Somehow he was quickly understanding why the Cretch Masters were so worried when their charges slipped away.  He owed so many apologies to Master Valesh…

Obi-Wan slowly walked down that hall towards one of the training rooms.  He could feel Jango and some of the eyayade there, with no overt negative feelings.  He still was apprehensive though.  Why was it so quiet?

He opened the door and blinked.  His mouth twitched.  He had to swallow his first words.

“Did I come at a bad time?” he finally asked, fighting to keep his voice even.

Jango blinked at him like a tooka who just slipped from a ledge and was pretending that was the plan the whole time.  He then glanced down at the chair he was in, the wire wrapped around him, and the squad surrounding him.

The CC’s shifted awkwardly, the one with auburn hair starting to open his mouth then closing it.

Alpha-17 on the side of the room raidiated smugness.  And was standing next to a box of…toy weapons?  Obi-Wan wasn’t sure where he even got them.  Ah wait, there was Boba mouth covered by his hands sitting on the floor next to Alpha-17.

“The children were eager to behold my blood,” Jango finally answered, “I, ah, thought you had a meeting with your friend Quinlan?”

“His last mission took an unexpected turn and has been extended,” Obi-Wan waved off, eying the box.  He didn’t want to bring up that Quinlan was in the midst of tracking the last known Sith from before they disappeared.  At least not around the children.  They may look about 10 (except for Alpha-17 who looked like a proper teenager), but they were still children.

Alpha-17 locked eyes with him and deliberately glanced down at the box.

Well.  If the surly eldest brother was inviting him, who was Obi-Wan to turn them down?

Obi-Wan stepped into the room, craning his neck to see better into the box.

Jango caught on faster than the eyayade surrounding him.

“Now cyar’ika, let’s not be hasty he-”

Obi-Wan lifted the stuffed lightsaber using the Force as sent it over to smack Jango in the face and was delighted as it lit up with a soft blue light.

The children cheered.

Wait holy shit, anon from 2 seconds ago, hi!, I suddenly had another alpha-17 thought, imagine comforting him after his capture by Ventress and again a few weeks later after being wounded by Grievous. He puts up an impenetrable front but behind it he’s in pain and filled with self doubt and you remind him that it’s all worth it, he’s worth it in the end.

Summary: After being tortured by Ventress, and then badly wounded by Grievous, Alpha-17 is confined to a bed under your care. Badly injured and convinced that he’s about to be Decommissioned for being unable to continue his duties, he’s lashing out at everyone trying to help him. Luckily, you’ve never been a shrinking violet.

“Doctor,” You pause, your hand hovering over the door panel to Alpha-17’s hospital room when you’re stopped by one of your nurses. She’s an older woman, much older than you, and she seems to be fretting over something.

“Something wrong?” You ask.

“It’s…well,” She motions to the door you’re about to pass through, “He’s in a foul mood.”

You arch a single brow, “Well, yes. I would be too if I had been tortured, and then badly wounded. How are his cybernetics?”

“I…well, I’m not sure. He wouldn’t let me check.”

Your other brow raises to join the first, “He wouldn’t let you.”

“No, Doctor. When I tried he snapped at me.”

“So he’s probably in pain then.”

She shrugs, “Perhaps we should leave him to the Kaminoans?”

You shoot her a look dirty enough that she flinches away from you, “Thank you, Nurse. I can take it from here.”

“Uh…Yes, doctor.” You wait until she hurries away before you type in the door code and enter the room. 

“I hear you’re terrorizing my nurses.” You announce as the door slides shut behind you, “Knock it off.”

“I don’t want your medical care.” Alpha bites out, pinning you with a fierce glare.

“Tough shit, you’re getting it anyway.” You walk over to him, and glance at the monitors to check his vitals, “How’s your pain?”

“Awful.”

“I need a number, Alpha.”

“You’re annoying.”

“Thanks, it was covered in medical school between cardiology and pulmonology.”

He shifts in the bed and winces, and you frown at him, “I’m fine.”

“Alpha, you currently have cybernetics running the length of your spine that will allow you to walk. You’re not fine.” You place a gentle hand on his shoulder, knowing that he’s going to hate it, but also knowing that he won’t lash out at you. “Let me take care of you.”

“Why bother?” He grouses, “They’re just going to decommission me.”

You sigh heavily. “They are not.”

He scowls at you, “I’ve known the longnecks my whole life—”

You hold up three fingers, “Point 1, Shaak Ti has forbidden decommissions. Point 2, even if she didn’t, the Kaminoans don’t decommission Alpha class clones. Point 3, even if you ignore those two points, they never would have allowed me to put a multi-million credit cybernetic system in you if they were going to decommission you.”

“...how many credits?”

“Don’t worry about it. You’re not paying for it.” You lightly tap his shoulder, “Anyway, will you let me take a look now?”

“I’m fine.” He repeats.

“Why are you being so difficult?”

A muscle in his jaw clenches, “What if I can’t do my job properly even with the cybernetics?”

“You will. As I understand it, Shaak Ti wants you training ARC Troopers.”

He scoffs, “So I can’t fight anymore.”

“Training the ARCs is an important job, Alpha.” You remind him, “They are the best, after all.” You step around the bed so you’re able to get a look at the cybernetics implanted in his spine.

“It’s not the same.”

“It is important though.” You lightly touch his skin and frown when you see the skin is inflamed. Quickly you put in an order for more antibiotics, and then you scan the cybernetics themselves, “Do you think lesser of Commander Colt for being an ARC trainer?”

He scoffs but doesn’t answer.

You walk back around him so that he’s facing you, “You just have to remember, this is all worth it in the end. It has to be.”

Alpha scans your face for a moment, “No one is going to thank you for this, you know that right?”

“I don’t do this for the accolades, Alpha. I do it because it’s the right thing to do.” You flash a wry smile, “Before all else, do no harm.”

Alpha sighs and sinks his head into his pillow, “I’m not worth all this.”

“You are to me.” You reach out and take his fingers in your hand and you squeeze them gently, “Will you let me help you?”

He’s quiet for a long moment, and then he squeezes your hand, “Yeah, I guess. Just you, though.”

“Spoiled.” You chide, “But fine, I’ll make a note that you refuse all medical care unless I’m the one giving it.” You untangle your hand from his and make a note in his chart, “Now. Are you in any pain?”

“Yeah, and my back feels hot.” He admits.

“Thank you, Alpha.” You turn your back to grab some pain medicine.

“I love you.” He mumbles.

“What was that?”

“I said you’re annoying.”

You laugh softly, and favor him with a warm smile, “So are you.”

Omg i love 17 again Stan! I wonder if Ford tried to Ask him how on earth that happened and if Ford would treat him like a small kiddo (protective big brother style). And how would Stan feel about it?

I think… it could go two ways.

One, Ford turns into the most protective big brother ever and is always making sure he returns the effort and dedication Stan put into getting him back. It’s all rainbows and sunshine.

Two… it’s another opportunity for a Stan Twins misunderstanding. Ford thinks he’s showing how much he cares when he tells Stan they’ll find a way to fix this. Stan is only hearing his own insecurities being voiced by his brother. Mainly that there’s something inherently “wrong” with him that needs to be fixed. He just wouldn’t be able to accept that Ford actually cares about him and wants to help him with his deaging situation since it seems to be affecting his mind and has definitely affected his life and relationships. Stan feels like he just found another way to mess things up and has left Ford to figure out how to clean it up. And when all of that finally bubbles to the surface and overflows, Ford is left feeling like the scum of the earth because his brother doesn’t seem to believe that he actually loves him and wants to help. And they’ll be stuck in that feedback loop until they actually start communicating better and learning to trust each other again. And THEN they get to have that brotherly relationship again. And it’s all rainbows and sunshine 🌈 ☀️

the hardest part of writing chapter 17 is trying to get this conversation to sound natural because usually i'd just say "and then peter told him" but skip the recounting. but peter has to tell the readers as well because there's a lot that y'all don't know (such as the specifics of how uncle ben died in this universe, peter's first kidnapping, etc)
