１． ＣＯＭＰＬＥＸＩＯＮＳ

Who saw this coming, because I surely didn't. It's not like complexion mods are the only thing I know how to make well.

The frankly unsettling flattened skin texture, or diffuse, on the left are tattoos I'm making for my woof boy, Noel. There are many different pieces because there's a billion seams I have to account for to make a sleeve that covers from shoulder to fingers without gaps. And it destroys my brain. The handsome lad on the right is my baby Vesper and those are his custom tattoos I made that need to be fixed up a little bit. Because there's flaws only my eyes can see <3

２． ＰＲＯＰＳ

Ya boy is also venturing into propmaking. Less venturing and more throwing myself in the deep end because I physically can't learn anything normally. ANYWAY I want a trillion neon signs at my beck and call for picture taking so I've been scouring in game assets and yoinking them out for my own use. They're functioning, but there's some stuff I gotta touch up yet.

３． ＬＯＲＥ

Yes, yes, we've all heard about my lore. It's still an ongoing process and frankly kinda tiring. Here are some snippets:

"The Saint" - while the name conjures imagery of holy pureness, Valen is anything but. Though that is part of why he's called this; it's a play on words that reflect his true methods. Early on in his career, Valen gained his reputation for being effcient, aggressive, and having a high success rate. Some operators that worked beside him began sarcastically calling him the Saint after seeing his typically ruthless and effective methods of completing contracts. The name stuck, even as Valen didn't embody saintly tendencies by any stretch yet. Although, that was part of the joke - a saint would never be as violent as Valen is, so how hilarious would it be if that's what he's called? It could be argued he was a saint of sorts for his clients, coming in and washing away their problems. Beginning around 2074, the name had another meaning attached to it - Valen would often willingly accept a pay cut to take those contracts that clients couldn't afford. These were usually non-corporate aligned persons who did not have the dollars at hand for the services offered by Ares Systems. Valen, apparently a bleeding heart at times, would take the contracts anyway and complete them. "The Saint" stuck even further after this.

Vesper's Lore - Around 10 months after running from Dario, Vesper found Valen. He'd been searching for him specifically, but Valen's not easy to find; he eventually approached him outside of Valen's work facility and Valen, of course, was shocked. He'd never known about Callen's other children, even though he'd always felt *something*. Unknowingly connected to Vesper from their shared father/sire. Over the next 6 months, they slowly grew closer, getting to know each other. They were both a little too similar to their father though, Vesper's brash nature inherited from Callen meaning he often called out Valen's own similarities to their father. To Valen's extreme dismay. Even though they tend to grate on each other's nerves, they do learn from each other and lean on one another often. Valen can't live without him now, nor can Vesper without him. When Vesper was 23, Dario found him again. He'd stopped being careful and accidentally let himself be found. Terrified, he was forced to tell Valen about that part of his past. Valen, in typical fashion, took it upon himself to make sure Dario could never find Vesper again. To this day, Vesper still doesn't know what Valen did with the body, and he'll never tell him.

What’s your favorite Sims death?

I generally don't allow my sims to die of anything but old age, but I would like to try out all the different deaths and ghosts at some point. The haunting curse ghost looks especially cool.

Alpha CC or MaxisMatch?

A mix of both? I tend to use Maxis-type clothes and furniture with textured patterns. I like most of my stuff to be fairly gameplay-friendly as well and it bothers me when there's clipping with sims animations so I don't use too many alpha clothes.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Not generally, but I find that most EA sims are just very skinny? I had the pregnancy weight-gain mod installed, but the results were so extreme that I removed it and cheated the weight myself.

Do you move objects?

I mainly use it for storytelling, but is it even possible to play this game without using move objects sometimes?

Favorite Mod?

What an impossible question! If I had to choose one mod I can't live without, it'd be NRaas MasterController, but in terms of gameplay mods, I'm really enjoying adding new recipes and harvestables to my game these days. That's a lot of different mods together, so maybe I'm cheating a bit with that answer, haha.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

The first sims game I was ever able to successfully install was Sims 2 and I think it was a "Deluxe" package that came with Nightlife? I don't remember what my first pack was for Sims 3. Maybe Late Night as well?

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing

It's an adjective, isn't it? Like 'alive.' Listen, I get that it's probably supposed to be the other one, since they have some weird theme of using verbs as adjectives. But 'live' is already an adjective, so no-one is going to say it that way.

How can I choose just one?? I do obviously love Rose a lot. She's adorable.

Oh yes. Honestly I'm shocked so many of you don't. I automatically insert myself into every fantasy hahaha I am very self-absorbed.

I don't even really remember which ones there are as defaults in Sims 3? I don't particularly love any of them.

Hmmm I enjoy the long male hair from Supernatural, especially on beardy men. And I also really like the 'modern braids' female hair from the store.

Like most people, it's YA, sorry.

Definitely gameplay. I am trying to be a bit better at building, but it's such a slog.

No, I have no interest in trying to play the game in a way that's entertaining for other people. I do that the rest of the day; sims time is just for me.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I've put a lot more effort into aesthetics recently. Setting things up takes more time but I get a lot more enjoyment out of the game once it's done.

I guess I probably have made one at some point but I have no idea what it is and I don't think I've ever used it. It's also just as likely that I actually don't have one.

Who’s your favorite CC creator?

So many impossible questions 😭 There's no way I can choose only one, but these days I'm always eagerly anticipating posts from @nightospheresims, @sim-songs, and @nectar-cellar.

How long have you had simblr?

It's complicated, haha! I had a simblr way back in... 2011-2012-ish? It was a messy time on simblr and in my life so I was never really able to develop a healthy relationship with it and I eventually deleted my blog after being inactive for a long time. Then after continuing my legacy story just for myself at a snail's pace for about a decade, I decided it was time to share with y'all again, and I opened this blog in October 2021.

How do you edit your pictures?

Reshade is first, and if a shot is taken outdoors and it's for a gameplay post, then sometimes that's it. If it's a bit darker than I'd like, I might apply all or part of this action using Photopea. Sometimes even more than once if it's really dark.

If it's a storytelling shot, I'll then also do manual debanding by selecting an area, copying it to a new layer, applying a gaussian blur, and then erasing around the edges to clean it up. It's tedious but also relaxing? And very satisfying in the end.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite?

Sims 3 has so many bangers but I love Ambitions a lot even though it's a glitchy mess sometimes. It's just so much fun.

I am never totally sure who's done this but I'll tag @pudding-parade, @echoweaver, @oasislandingresident and @frostedshore. No pressure of course! 🧡

We decided early on and have done our best to try to make sure that everyone felt welcome and treated the same/fairly and very much hope that we've succeeded.

As for the betas, those dudes(gn) are the largely unsung heroes of fandom and events, but they do SO much and work so hard, and we want to scream them from the rafters. This event treats them as full participants, same as the authors and artists. The betas sign up, hang out with us, do work, and get hyped/promoted same as everyone else.

And they have not been hard to love/hype. We've had a fantastic group that has come up with some amazing content and has been wonderful to work with. I've skimmed all of the content through check-ins (early access being the privilege of a mod XD), but I'm also slowly making my way through the final products. They're so good and deserve all the love.

her mother was an elf and her father was a half orc so she has lil TUSKS/FANGS

her father was a bard and taught her violin

she lived in a remote little village when she was young, which was attacked by a band of mindless undead (nellie doesnt know where they came from, she theorizes maybe someone summoned them nearby and lost control of them). the villagers tried to protect themselves but failed and perished. nellies parents barricaded her into their home, but died themselves trying to protect her

after the remaining undead moved on from the village, nellie broke out of her home to discover the carnage left behind. she didnt know what to do, where to go, or who could help her, so she meticulously dug graves and buried all of the dead, including her parents, all on her own. people showed up to investigate the village a few days later, and found her alone, playing her violin for the deceased among the graves. they took her to baldurs gate, and she wound up at the temple of kelemvor there, which became her home

shes a bard and cleric of kelemvor multiclass (i have modded items to make the build work better than it should LOL) and spent her adult life hunting undead and performing funeral rites all over the place, returning to the temple in baldurs gate in between her travels

mostly hunted mindless undead, but she once came across an isolated and recently turned vampire spawn that was being forced to hunt for her master. at her request, nellie mercy killed her, because there was no other way to escape her masters commands, but nellie never forgot about that spawn. its part of why nellie chooses to trust astarion and give him so many chances despite her experiences with undead (and advantage on insight checks), because she wants to help where she couldnt before. also she eventually falls for him, so. lol. lmfao

shes like, the least religious cleric youd ever meet. considers her devotion to kelemvor as a business arrangement, pretty much. she 100% would throw down with a god if given the opportunity (mystra and vlaakith shes looking at you)

uses her single charge of divine intervention in the fight with cazador, because shes so afraid of either failing astarion or losing him. besides, who better to call for killing an undead vampire than kelemvor?

her romance with astarion actually progresses differently in my headcanon than it does in game: nellie never sleeps with him. he pursues her to manipulate her, but she dances around his advances while still being nice and understanding to him (its infuriating for astarion LOL). in act 2, nellie almost dies to protect astarion in a battle, and that prompts the act 2 confession scene with astarion instead. im very normal about this (lying)

the streak in her hair is her going gray mainly in that spot

14. Any favorite motifs

I don't think I use any particular pattern enough to call it one of my favorites, but I feel like the night sky + stars comes up often, and when I draw backgrounds I almost always default to nature and usually mountains.

Oh and monsters of course. Gotta love the inhuman.

29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically

You may not know this about me, but I'm sort of a Gamer. Maybe it's kind of a cheap answer, but there are a lot of games who's gameplay I love who's art I don't so much.

The Binding of Issac comes as the first obivous answer, slay the spire on on an unsteady line because there are things that I like with the art, but I think a lot of it isn't executed to my tastes (gameplay is top tier though). Terraria is a great great game but almost all the art that comes to mind when I think of it comes from mods. Hitman (the current one, though in aesthetic they're all similar enough) is one of my most modern favorites, but any game that goes "here's something at least semi-realistic in a modern setting" probably isn't going to do anything for me.

(There are plenty of games who's art styles I *do* like a lot and have probably inspired me in one way or another but that would be a long list and is also not the question).

Movies and TV are much harder because I just don't... Watch very much of either, these days 😰

I've recently started getting to know a Brazilian man who I really like and have so much in common with, and since I've seen a few Brazilians within the Open Heart fandom floating around due to Rafael I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to show him I appreciate his Brazilian heritage? I've never dated a Brazilian but have dated an Italian, a Kiwi and an American and with all three the way to their hearts, and culture, was food. Its the easiest way to connect with people and helps to create some really good memories (and skills if you like to cook, I make some mean Italian dishes thanks to my ex.)

Asking questions about anything and everything also helps, how life differs, what they miss, what they like in their new culture, history and language. I have so much unless knowledge about living in Italy because I never stopped asking questions and trying to absorb every scrap of knowledge about his culture, family and life in Italy.

So my advice, for what its worth, is connect with food and experiences, always remain open and curious about learning from the other person and be willing to share as well.

I'm sure others will be able to offer much more profound advice and not just eat and ask questions 😂

What’s this, a second replies post in less than a week? Well, yeah. I just wanted to talk. I always want to talk, actually. Which is why I’m always reblogging ask games and stuff. I’m also not opposed to talking in private messages, though I must warn you, I’m pretty anxious and...even though I want to talk, sometimes I just don’t reply, especially if you just drop in with hi and not much else. I do bad with these kind of messages. I know, that makes no sense and it’s terrible and I hate when people ignore me that way too. But it’s like there’s this barrier that doesn’t let me do a simple thing. Because I’m an anxious mess and don’t actually know how to talk. I’m also weird but we all know that already.

Wow, those might be the reasons why I can’t keep a conversation with anyone. 🤔

On another note...I tried to play NSB this week and came to conclusion that 1) my laptop hates TS4 and 2) I have too much CC. The entire system froze. I’ll have to clean out my Mods folder, I’ve always tried to keep it at 1 GB, now it’s almost 3 GB. I guess I’ll also lower the graphic settings, even though that kinda breaks my heart because I like when my game looks pretty. Oh well. I have to sacrifice something.

How I’ll end up throwing away 2 GB of CC is a mystery to me though.

Relatable.. Life is lonely most of the time. My best friends at the moment are my almost two year old daughter (who speaks gibberish), my kitty and something that most people call boyfriend but really looks more like part of the sofa.. I'm from Finland and we talk about the weather most of the time. So, how is the weather there?

The weather was surprisingly cold today! Mum said it even snowed in the morning, but I was asleep so I didn’t see that.

Yeah, life gets lonely sometimes...it got better for me irl though, so I’m not complaining that much about that part. I didn’t have any friends in middle school. I have one really close friend now. Still, from another point of view, my life is still pretty lonely. 😅

Feeling lonely on simblr...this feeling comes in waves for me, I’d say. Usually it gets worse when I’m waiting for someone to reply back to a long message (and boy, do I send long messages often - it’s like letters). I tend to overthink things, so all sorts of scenarios go through my head in that case - they don’t have time, but wait, I’ve seen them around, reblogging things and commenting on posts by other people, so does that mean they’re ignoring me? Do they not want to talk anymore? If so, why don’t they just tell me to stop bothering them? Have they ever actually liked me or did they just talk to me because they didn’t want me to feel bad? Wait, I said *that* to them, maybe they hate me now...and I could go on and on.

I was wondering what Bakugo, Kirishima, and Denki would do for Halloween with an s/o who can shapeshift. The s/o usually just shapeshifts instead of buying a costume. Also what would those three be for Halloween? Would they go trick or treating? Hcs please!

Bakugou Katsuki

What would they do: Halloween may be Bakugou’s favorite holidays since he can dress up as anything as he wants and scare the living wits out of his classmates or maybe even steal some candies from kids because that’s just how he is. Both Bakugou and s/o might wander around the block and purposely scare anyone. Because his s/o can shapeshifter to anything, it’s easier for them not to change into costumes as much.

What would he be: Bakugou’s costume might be a dog -coughcoughofficialartcough- (I don’t think I would know… maybe some devil because he so aggressive and always angry). His s/o could also be a wolf with them or any type of dogs since packs gotta stay together right? Bakugou likes chasing everyone around because it gives him thrills.

Would they go t-&-t: If Bakugou wants to go trick and treating, his s/o would have to go with him. He isn’t dressed up for this day for nothing. He’s going to be himself on this day.

Kirishima Eijirou

What would they do: The both of them would mostly throw a Halloween party for their classmates or maybe they would attend to someone’s place for trick-and-treating together. Of course, Kirishima would be the one who is coming along for the candies and enjoying a good time being scared out of, or vice versa depending if he wants to get spooky. I think the both of them may prank their classmates if his s/o can shapeshift. For example: his s/o may become somebody’s fear (this sounds farmiliar.)

What would he be: Kirishima may just be a ghost because he’s a little goofy and thinks it’s kinda cute too.

Would they go t-&-t: Heck yeah they would. Kirishima is going to get all of those candies, any goodies he could get his hands on. He knows that he’ll be bloated and sick from all the chocolates, but you just gotta risk it and enjoy this day.

Kaminari Denki

What would they do: Well, it’s Halloween, so he might as well go with the classmates too. His s/o may probably shapeshift into something that Denki would be afraid of and mess around with him for awhile. They seems to be handling the props well, but heck, he is sure spooked out by this day. So they will probably get a scream out of him every chance they get. Denki will rue them for this day in the future.

What would he be:Denki might be some kind of pop star / singer on this day because he already looks like one and it gives him SOME attention.

Would they go t-&-t: Yes they would, why give up this day to just have some spooks and candies? Denki may be a little jumpy when it comes to Halloween, but hey, as long as they have some fun together. I’m sure he would go every year year with s/o.

“That’s American tea.” Avdol replied, not looking from his activities. Joseph gaped at him before sneering, grumbling to himself and roughly putting the cup back down on the floor in front of him. Tucked sitting in a criss-cross position, he set his hands on his knees and huffed. The room was cramped, the ‘american tea’ sucked, and it was too hot out. Shifting to rest the side of his hand on the palm of his hand he watched Avdol momentarily before letting his gaze drift past his friend and onto something a little more attention-grabbing.

Small fingers were touching at the door frame, a head barely visible peeking around the corner and two wide eyes watching him intently. The moment their eyes met the child jumped at being caught and disappeared behind the wall, the sound of feet pattering on the floorboards following the sight. The child was not one he had met before, and didn’t resemble his Holly by much save for the fair skin.

“Hey Avdol,” He began as his eyes never left the spot he’d seen her. “Did you see that?” 

Of course Avdol hadn’t with his back facing the door so he knit his brows, turning around to take a look behind him. When he saw nothing he turned back to Joseph. “See what?”

“There was a child.”

“Do you have another grandchild aside from Jotaro?”

Joseph took a moment to think, narrowing his eyes at nothing as he thought back. Before he could get too into it though there was a sound at the door, a smiling Holly knocking at it.

“I hope I’m not interrupting anything!” She sang.

“Holly!” Joseph beamed. “Who is that child here?”

“Child?” She asked, index finger tapping at her chin. Suddenly her eyes lit up and she grinned, even doing a small jump and clasping her hands together. “Ah, that’s right papa! You havn’t met ___ yet!” She stood in the doorway, looking left and right down the hallways. “___! ___~!” 

Once again Joseph could hear the pitter patter of small feet on the tile flooring. Though he couldn’t see exactly what was happening, he did see Holly bend down into a crouch and reach out to something.

“Papa,” she started and stepped back into the room, the child in tow holding her hand. “Meet your grand-daughter, ___!”

Everything came rushing back to Joseph. His last phone call with Holly she’d mentioned something about another child and he was excited but never found the time to ask her about it or visit! How could he have forgotten!

“___!” He shouted, moving to his knees and opening his arms wide. Instead of running to him ___ seemed frightened by his volume and sudden display, grabbing onto the bottom of Holly’s dress and hiding behind her. Joseph, surprised but not hurt by her shyness, lowered his arms. 

“Don’t be afraid, ___,” Holly said sweetly, gently pushing and urging ___ in front of her. She rested her hands on her shoulders and lowered, talking into the child’s ear. “That’s your grand-papa.”

“Grand-papa?” ___ whispered, her voice tiny but just as soft as Holly’s. Maybe there was a resemblance, after all. Holly nodded and stood back up, nudging ___’s back. 

“Don’t be rude ___, say hello to him!” 

Hesitantly ___ took a few steps forward, watching Joseph’s arms come up to hug her. The last few steps she sped up until she was hugging him, her grandfather’s arms wrapping around her small form tight while he stood and carried her up with him. She felt almost weightless to him, easily held as he spun in circles happily.

“___!” He cheered. “Good to meet you!” 

___ giggled and chanted ‘grand-papa’ numerous times, Holly affectionately watching from the doorway. 

“Hello, ___.” Avdol greeted her, still sitting on the floor when Joseph was done effortlessly tossing her around playfully. That shyness kicked in again and buried her face in Joseph’s shoulder, which he proudly patted her back and grinned about. 

“Don’t be scared of him ___!” He said as she peeked at Avdol. “Avdol is a good friend of mine!”

“Hi Avdol.” She said softly, still hiding most of her face in his shoulder. 

Holly clapped happily. “I’m so happy you’ve finally met her!” She sang, ecstatic. Joseph bellowed a laugh and set ___ back down on the floor, patting at her head and laughing when she found her way back to her mother, then once again picked up in her arms. 

“She’s as beautiful as you are!” Joseph stated proudly, hands resting at his sides. “I have a beautiful family!”

Holly ran her hands through ___’s hair, kissing her forehead before setting her on the flooring and nudging her back again. “Go on and play, ___, Mama will be out in bit.” 

She nodded and bounded for the doorway, running out into the hall without a care in the world. 

Joseph sat back down on the floor, his complains of Japanese Tea and cramped rooms completely out the window. He could hear her giggling from outside the room, running around and burning off that young childlike energy.
