Oooooo, anon you finna make my followers hate me even more since I don’t shut the fuck up about one beautiful sky Zelda. In short:

In long? Well, I’ll place it under the read more. Juuuuust in case I do actually get super rambly ramble with this girl because I can like talk hours. Excuse the mistakes, I’ll get to editing them once I learn how to read again. I tend to go off when I ramble and not check anything until later on. Bear with me, please!

I’m not even sure where to start?! I suck at getting my thoughts out into cohesive enough reading pieces because ADHD is just hell brain going 755034 miles per minute and expecting everyone to keep up sometimes. I feel like everything I’ve said has been said before... but, I’m always totally ready to ramble once more because it’s something I can never be tired of and is very on-brand of me to yell about either sky or ALTTP Zelda. I’m just super passionate about these girls! 

What drew me to Skyward Sword Zelda in the first place is the aesthetic of her game as well as her design as a whole. I remember seeing the trailer for SS drop and how hyped I was. The cel-shading was back with a vengeance with a nice combo of the art style we see in TP too rather than the more toon style with WW and I feel like it worked beautifully, the graphics for the game never fail to amaze me and I love the watercolor look they went with in both the official art and game! I knew I would love this Zelda and guess what, I was right in that because spoiler alert: I LOVED this Zelda the minute we were introduced to her. Not her first physical appearance because all we saw was her beautiful dress design... well, ok this did help in making me love this girl. BUT her first introduction as to who she is as a character in the letter sent to Link. She’s cheeky in the letter and it gives us this sense that the two of them really are on a more familiar level with each other, compared to every other relationship with Zelda and Link where they are strangers bound by fate to save Hyrule. It’s very simple, a few sentences but all that simplicity painted a good enough sense as to what we were in for with Zelda and her friendship with Link. 

HOOOOOOO BOY HOOOO BOY!!! And then we see her, and we see Link smiling at her like it’s the first time seeing her ever despite seeing her yesterday. And gosh, she’s just a charming character overall!! She’s funny, someone who likes to tease others and carries a strong sense of justice! She can be pushy (literally and figuratively speaking) but she does mean well by the end of the day and is aggressive in showing support for you! She’s an optimist mostly for friends because she thinks that things will turn out alright for her friends and she wishes that they can see the same too so often she will encourage them. She’s not a princess. She’s very ordinary here, and that ordinariness illustrates both Sky and Tetra best because of how lighthearted and open they are. Granted they’re not super lax and are still very responsible like all Zeldas but they’re pretty informal and I love that about them! 

Sky Zel is someone who’s pretty straightforward, she has no issue with letting both her body and facial expression do the talking for her as such she doesn’t really hide much. She’s an open book of sorts all while being someone who expresses her mind and isn’t roundabout in saying things, she has no issue with calling you out as shown with how she called out Groose and his bullying on Link. On top of that, she does call out Link a few times too depending on the choices you give in-game! Skyward Sword did an excellent job in making Sky Zel so likable and adding nuance to her relationship with Link through the little things in the first few minutes of the game and it’s like, damn you kinda wanna see her again all safe and happy! 

It reminds me of how Wind Waker starts off with Aryll and Link having a wholesome brother-sister bond and it motivates you to rescue her because you’re sure that Link wants to see Aryll home safe and happy again with Grandma.

It’s a shame how we don’t see her journey throughout the game and see how she becomes the more melancholic, wise girl we see during her scene where she falls asleep for over 1000+ years or the full extent of her relationship with Impa either because I’m sure those two had a pretty good bond going too for Zelda to react like that during the end where Impa fucking dies hweoh. That’s another thing too, there’s a whole other layer to Sky aside from Genki. Yes, she’s cheery and seems like your typical anime heroine but keep in mind that she was Hylia, a goddess who fought for her people to protect them, the lands, and the Triforce. She was in a war, she had to see so many of her people die that she loved and vowed to protect because of one demon’s greed to have the power of the gods. Hylians were weak back then, Demise says this straight up. So death was very likely in those days. 

She had to endure a lot during that time, once Zelda’s memories of her past life came back she grew up from that girl we see at the beginning of the game. It’s also worth noting, that Zelda and Hylia have different mindsets. She may have her memories back but that doesn’t really mean she’s back to being Hylia fully before she became mortal. I’ve talked about it before but Zelda, with her ordinary background, grew up surrounded by love. In other words, she has a more compassionate heart than she did as a goddess. Gods and deathless beings overall have a long lifespan, they tend to forget about morals and how humans worked. While Hylia did love her people and the lands her love is different from mortals as such it can be very painful. I mean *gestures to Sky Link* there you go. It’s why she’s so remorseful of her actions... but the ending scene where she tells Link she wants to live on The Surface tells me that there are still shades of that playful gremlin we saw in the first half of Skyward Sword. She’s someone who’s hopeful for tomorrow but likes to live in the now and make a brighter tomorrow. She won’t hide away from the past, willing to admit to her mistakes and refusing to make excuses, but she won’t let it define her either and will instead grow from it. She wants to protect the people she loves and the world she loves much like she did in her past life but with more empathy with that love!

I think that’s all for her as a character aside from one more thing to add: 

It’s cool to me how she’s not a princess, but a literal Goddess. She’s legit Hylia. So she’s unique in that aspect and she serves as an explanation as to why the royal family even has divine powers because her blood is passed down to them. I don’t buy fanon theory that all Zeldas are reincarnations of Hylia, I think Sky is the rare case of Zelda reincarnating. There’s no evidence to support either theory because Nintendo tends to be open-ended in their lore for the most part... although Demise makes it a point to say “those with the blood of the goddess” rather than the “spirit of the goddess” like he does with Link which is something that Ghirahim and Demise wanted from Zelda, aka the Spirit Maiden, to bring Demise’s form back from the seal Hylia placed on him. Her very soul has divinity to it. 

On top of that, in BOTW it’s explained that the sealing power has been passed down and that Zelda’s mother knew how to use it as did her grandmother and so on. So... with that in mind how on earth is Hylia around for both those ladies and the current Zelda we see in BOTW if every Zelda ever is the reincarnation of her? On top of that BOTW Zel says in her diary that she had a dream where a woman in white tried to call out to her so??? Huh? What? It creates a plot hole if you think every Zelda is Hylia reincarnating. And sort of takes away the fun headcanon of Zeldas interacting in the Spirit Realm. That said, I’d like to think her presence is eternal through the powers that become unlocked rather than Hylia herself. If that makes sense? It’s not literally Hylia reincarnating but a connection made with her. This might not be making much sense haha. But! Reincarnation is a thing I do think is possible in LOZ since BOTW does say this but I don’t think it’s not as straightforward as fandom thinks it is and I’d like to think it’s more nuanced. People tend to cite Avatar sometimes and ehhhhh. No.

But that’s just me on that one.

highlights from the lightning thief musical

i saw the lightning theif last night at the straz in tampa and it was so!!! good!! my inner theatre kid was so satisfied and i wanted to make a list of all my favorite parts (which is basically the whole musical lmao) spoilers  ahead

so the musical started with this LOUD ass clap of thunder and half the audience (including me) nearly peed

PERCY’S ENTRANCE WAS SO DOPE after the Prologue the demigods rip away the lightning banner and Chris McCarrel s l i d downstage into a “thinking man” position and goes: “look. i didn’t want to be a half blood” i DIED

when sally gets home from work percy goes something like “hey mom how was your day mine was great went on a field trip got expelled did some homework nothing extraordinary hahaha”

when Smelly Gabe made his entrance percy suddenly had a can of air freshener and was OBNOXIOUSLY spraying it LMAO

when grover appears after Strong he’s like: “thERES A FURY” and percy responds “no, YOU’RE ALL FURRY” but the audience definitely heard “you’re a furry” we were dying

percy meets poseidon in a dream and goes “oh look. a strange man in a Hawaiian shirt.

poseidon gives him a sea shell and he talks really deeply and slowly. he was like “what beloooongs to the seeeaa can alwaaays returrrrn...it’s a sea shell” and does the Shaka hand gesture and walks offstage. i cannot make this up.

grover’s actor also as mr. D? A+

silena gestured to her crotch when she said charlie grew sunflowers “everywhere”

katie gardener went on a spiel about not senselessly slaughtering trees and Mr. D just....aggressively sharpened a pencil in front of her

during Another Terrible Day percy was so confused and overwhelmed he just started clapping to emphasize what he was saying: “WHAT👏🏽 IS👏🏽 HAPPENING👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽” i screamed

CHIRON’S CENTAUR BODY WAS JUST A TAIL STICKING OUT OF HIS PANTS AND HE JUST WALKED REALLY ABSURDLY TO EMPHASIZE THE FACT THAT HE WAS HALF HORSE. suspension of disbelief was really my friend here.

when Grover and Percy get reunited Grover’s scared that Percy will be mad at him for not protecting both him and his mom but Percy just goes “i’m so happy to see you!!” and they share the biggest hug i’m 🥺🥺🥺 grovercy rights

Percy has only seen Annabeth in his weird dream sequence so when he actually sees her in real life he blurts out “HEY YOU’RE MY DREAM GIRL” and everyone onstage is just like...did you really just-

to represent water they used a toilet paper roll and leaf blowers. they literally TP-ed clarisse in the bathroom scene

the campfire scene was probably one of my favorites like the bonding!! complaining about their annoying parents!! the little dance they all did at the end kinda seemed Greek influenced but i couldn’t tell ah!!

they japed the entire audience during percy’s claiming. they couldn’t actually show a trident above his head so they were like “LOOK IN THE SKY. IT’S A TRIDENT” and pointed toward the back of the house and the audience turned around in their seats looking for the damn trident we looked stupid

Chiron: “All hail Perseus Jackson, Son of the Sea God.”

Percy: “Son of a SEA GOD?? SWEEEET!”

and then everyone started panicking because “holy shit son of the Big Three we’re doomed.”

Mr. D legitimately wanted to turn Percy into a dolphin to avoid Zeus’ wrath

The Oracle was SO COOL like all the actors were inside her dress to make it move with her hand movements it was creepy but COOL

there was a heart to heart between Luke and Percy after good kid at the lake and it was so beautiful I ALMOST forgot Luke was the traitor

can I just say the OG trio is amazing omg frick. they were so excited during Killer Quest I love them 🥺

as soon as Act 2 started it jumped right into them being chaotic aka them exploding a bus

random bus passenger: “believe it or not this isn’t even the weirdest thing that’s happened to me on the greyhound”

Grover explaining how he can talk to the squirrel during Lost! and Percy went: “I think that’s kind of nuts” and just SMIRKED. the entire audience started clapping for the f*cking pun they had to hold the scene for ten seconds it was golden

I FORGOT TO MENTION THIS EARLIER BUT EVERY TIME SOMEONE COMPLIMENTED ANNABETH SHE WOULD GET SO HAPPY!! Luke said she was the strongest person he knew and she was like “you think i’m strong??🥺” and Medusa was like I just HAVE to take a picture of you and Annabeth was like “you want a picture of ME?? 🥺🥺” someone please give this girl the praise and love she deserves

Kristin really sang her heart out during My Grand Plan like I had chills literal CHILLS. KRISTiN YOU’RE DOING AMAZING SWEETIE.

during Tree on the Hill they had Grover on the ground level singing about what happened then up on the scaffolding Luke, Annabeth, and Thalia were acting out what he was singing and during Thalia’s death Annabeth, Luke and the actress who played Thalia stood with their backs together and used their arms to form a tree and i cried

THEY HAD CONFETTI CANONS FOR THE END OF DEAD ON ARRIVAL I WAS SO IMPRESSED

annabeth: “guys...i think that pit down there is Tartarus”

percy: “THE FISH SAUCE??”

“we need to get out of here before hades finds us!!”

Hades, in an exaggeratedly southern, flamboyant accent: “WELL, it’s TOO LATE FOR THAT!”

hades radiated chaotic gay energy i swear. you know the john mulaney new in town bit where the guy’s like “i’m a homosexual and i’m new in town” that is hades.

Hades: “give me the lightning bolt”

Percy: “there’s no way in HELL--oh”

Hades really emphasizes the fact that there’s no way out of the underworld without his help and then Percy remembers the shell his dad gave him and blows into it which opens up a PORTAL and Hades goes “oh, COME ON”

ANNABETH AND GROVER REFUSED TO LET PERCY FIGHT ARES ALONE MY BABIES

Ares singing his version of Clarisses “Put You In Your Place” vs Percy singing “Son of Poseidon” all during a fighting sequence. poetic theatre.

for the climax of Son of Poseidon percy, annabeth and grover all had leaf blowers and TP-ed the front three rows of the audience to represent percy defeating ares with his powers. jesus.

percy told his mom Medusa’s head was a “do it yourself statue kit” scream

annabeth: hey clarisse we met your dad, he’s not as strong as you think

clarisse: you met my DAD??...did he say anything about me? 🥺

LUKES EVIL YET HEART WRENCHING VERSION OF GOOD KID WHILE HE AND PERCY ARE SWORD FIGHTING

“I’ll do anything I don’t care if I hurt anyone it doesn’t pay to be a GOOD KID A GOOD KID A GOOD SON”

he stabs percy and runs and also rips down the CHB banner on his way out. what kind of anarchial mess.

annabeth goes “seaweed brain!” while giving percy ambrosia for his stab wound and percy smiles and goes “wise girl :)” and they nearly touched foreheads. nia.exe has stopped working

during the final moment of Bring on the Monsters white lights focus on percy while the rest of the stage is dark and he smiles while singing “I’ll be back next summer, I’ll be back next summer.” and there’s a final blackout. my heart.

there’s so much i want to say and a lot i probably forgot but just know this musical did that. the actors are all so talented and so many of them played 3+ more characters!! like imagine the amount of quick changes and lines and songs they have to remember!! they’re bad asses all of them. it’s true to the actual pjo books as well. if you have a chance you should totally see it because the tour is closing soon :’)

I LOVE YOKAI WATCH SO MUCH

All these monsters are just so soft and the music is great and there's so much craftsmanship put into the environments i keep finding new tiny lil secret animations for stuff?? Like when you go into houses you take off or put on your shoes, when you cross the street you press the button on the traffic lights, when you run and stop real fast you do a slide, YOU CAN RUN UP AND SLIDE DOWN ACTUAL SLIDES, you can sneak behind houses to find secret routes and crawl underneath stuff cos youre short, when yoy run too much ypu get winded for a few seconds, and ONLY JUST NOW i discovered you can use all the equipment in the school's outdoor gym field by walking up against it, and theres several shortcuts because of this! You can climb up the rope strengtg test thingie and then POLE VAULT OVER THE WALL holy shit this kid is hella reckless but i appeciate cutting a good two minutes off my commute across the town.

And can i say that the idea of an open world town game is really really fuckin good?? Its just like all those open world explorations except its in an urban area instead. Like this town is HUGE! And theres so many hidden areas in alleyways behind houses and roads under roads and stuff. Lots of places where they placed a treasure chest in just the right spot to say "hey this area is reachable!" and then yoy have such a great time figuring out how! And so much is already open just at the start of the game, ive got totally sucked into this!! I've already found a few places thatre clearly intended for later in the game but they open up JUST enough early on for you to get a taste and feel hyped to come back later!! There's a sewer dungeon and a mine tunnel dungeon that you can just get one floor into and see hints of where theres treasure chests or boss enemies you'll someday be able to reach! And aaaa ive had this delay in the lp's progress cos i got so sucked into finding all the yokai currently available. Thats the BEST part of the open world town stuff! You dont just find monsters as random encounters or in special supernatural areas, the whole damn slogan of the thing is Yokai Are Everywhere! You're encouraged to search under vending machines, cars, windowsills, plantpots, flowerbeds, trees, lakes, sewers, trash cans and goddamn everything!!! All the actual town stuff in the town is a monster spawning spot, and the randomized nature of it means theres always a reason to run around town even if youve already been somewhere. There's always only (for example) three or four trashcans around the town that have Dimmy, out of like 15. And you have a radar system to track them down so its super fun! And then theres some rare spots which are kinda frustrating, like hungramps only in the cardboard box in one alleyway and pupsicle only in one of tge many ponds which honestly doesnt make sense. That one took the longest to grind! Oh and there's the weirdness of Slush's recolour Droplet which is THE SAME COLOUR except slightly darker! Its only rare cos you dont notice when you got one, lol. Apparantly it has an even rarer version but that one's bright red, thankfully! Cant get that one yet tho, otherwise id keep grinding for even more hours lollll

Aaaa my heart just feels so full when i play this game! It really captures the fun of exploring new places as a kid! Sucks that im not allowed to run arpund collecting cute snails now i'm an adult, but this captures the feeling of it more than pokemon does. Its possibly the reason why pokemon go was so monumentally popular? But i think this captures the feeling of more interactively SEARCHING for your monsters while also having the actual substance to back it up and keep you playing. Also it has such loving replication of childhood! I already mentioned the cute animations giving personality to your kid, but there's also the little touch that currency is in kiddy bucks. I.e. you gain smaller amounts of pennies from all money sources, and working up to £5 feels like 4000g in other games. Tho ive actually been grinding so long that i have £400 now! Im spending it on food to give all my monster friends!!! THEY ALL HAVE FAVOURITE FOODS AAA IM FEEDING A SENTIENT WALL A POT NOODLE one of the monsters is a fake wall with legs yo these designs are SO cute! Bit of a missed opportunity tho that its just a random find in grassy areas when it could have been its own minigame maybe? Like, test how well youre memorizing this giant map by having one out of place wall appear somewhere and you need to find it. There's a hide and seek minigame in every game this company's ever made so i'll be sad if there's not one here!

Aaaanyway the wall is the last yokai i need to grind for and then FINALLY i will resume the goddamn tutorial and get past the first story event, lol. Really i feel like they shouldnt have opened up the world so much so early, ive got sooooo sidetracked by joy~!

The lil wall guy is named Noway aaa i love them...

Oh oh oh and ive accidentally got attatched tp some yokai i didnt really like the designs of, cos the way they play in battle is so creative and useful! Currently my big pal is Leadoni ("lead-on" + oni aka goblin). Theyre a weird kinda mehh design thats a neat concept but the execution is weird. Cos their supernatural power is making you get lost, they have one giant hand doing a beckoning gesture, and one tiny one waving a little flag. But what makes the design meh to me is that otherwise the design is just 100% a generic cutesy oni like in any other game. So it looks kinda extra gross to have a massive muscley hand on a tiny child thing. I feel like the more cutesy you make the body the more creepy that hand is, lol! But its really useful in battle cos it leads enemies astray too, it takes attacks that were originally targeting its teammates. Thats just so kind!!! So i feel bad that i named mine Doomfist and Foomdist XD i didnt expect id use them so much! But i like that the game is so good it made me go "aww kind babby" even for the one design that looked legit scary to me. BABBY PROTECTS THEY FAMBLY AAAAA

Meet a customized, Handsome Jack inspired Claptrap unit: J4CK-TP, aka Jacktrap

The colour scheme is based on Jack's hair and clothes

The green and blue stripes are meant to resemble the heterochromic eyes

The real, blue eye of the Claptrap unit is both a homage to Jack's pocket watch and to Rhys' cybernetic eye

The antenna has freely movable parts and can be used to express feelings (kinda like a cat tail, lol)

The "hands" are bigger and heavier than the ones of a standard model. Doesn't hinder Jacktrap from swinging them around to gesture while talking, the movement is just less controlled and more likely to hit something...or someone.

They are really great to smack people into the face, less good to strangle a person. Or to hold guns. Or do anything else. They suck. Good cup holders though.

His arms aren't stronger or anything, so when Jacktrap gets pushed to the ground, he is flailing around just like every other Claptrap

The facial expressions shows a smileing face :) But if you Kill someone ,your facial expressions will turn into crying gesture T^T When he has the mask on , the end of tail glows giveing him more power then before and hp(from 30 to 60) , he can summon attacks even more faster then other sanses and doesn’t get tierd at all. if you try speed attacks or tp attacks he can sense your magic or determination and block it or dodge it.

BLASTERS : The Laser blast can follow the opponent until they hit him and the blaster after shooting are chances it will follow the opponent to keep shooting (I had was planning to post an animation that I worked 8 hours at it to post it but my pc need it to ruin my day and crash the program and lose all the work ;-;)
