Thank goodness this hellish week is over KFJHDSFS 😭 Every time it's close to the end of a pay period, all the bases like sending in their stuff at the very last minute like I don't have 54545353 other things to do besides trying to bum rush things just to get stuff done on time, all while they are harassing me with calls and emails trying to push me to get their deadline that they kind of railroaded me into or they'll cry and screech and go to my big big boss who I most definitely do not want to even be perceived by.

Man, how did the utopian prison go over in Fandom when Twilight Mirage was happening? Because while I can appreciate the attempt to think through restorative approaches to justice the vibes are like. Bad. I think.
Like you still get locked in a box? I don't like that.

@nectaric asked: "did you always want to be a mother?" the question comes strong and stoic as the rest of her many questions always do - but the glimmer in athena's eyes was the true oddity. "how did you know that was what you wanted? did you have a feeling, or… something else?"
Rhea smiled softly at her granddaughter, although the smile represented something more than joy. It was a question she heard from others before; often curious or accusatory. Her relationship to motherhood and being a mother, even holding the title of Mother of the Gods was greatly important to her but it also brought her heartache and guilt.
For decades she was a childless mother and even when her children were freed, each relationship with her offspring was different. Difficult, complicated or neutral...be it from her own faults or her offspring's feelings toward her. They changed for better or worse over time and even in their complications, she never regretted being their mother. She would love them regardless despite their own disbeliefs. Her greatest strength was her heart but it could also be her greatest weakness.
Tumblr media
"I don't think it's just about wanting. More like it was my destiny. We have our predestined domains and duties that emerge at certain moments. Mine happened to be a mother. At least that is my main duty," Rhea began with a gentle smile. "I tended to my younger siblings and their children. I wasn't asked to. It was my own intuition that knew it was my duty. It was only natural for me to have children of my own one day." But then her smile slowly diminished as she contemplated over Athena's questions.
"I knew I wanted my own family. Children of my own. I wanted to give my children all the love and support I didn't have growing up. Giving the next generation everything they could want and desire all the while growing up happy with no worries." She confessed before biting her lip in disappointment. "Hestia and Demeter had that for a short while with Cronus and I but prophecy wouldn't let my hopes and dreams be fulfilled to the fullest. I couldn't give my children everything they deserved so that's why I've been so dedicated to your generation and the others following." She added.
"It's all connected. My domains. I tend to the present and future generations of our family. With the hope we can grow and learn and love more than the last. Does that answer your inquires, dearest Athena?" She finally chuckled as she gently bumped her shoulder against her granddaughter's.

____________________________________________
You could feel his eyes on you from across the room—calculating, contemplative, planning. You had been doing your best to ignore him for the better part of the evening, but his presence was hardly discrete as he stood strong and stiff in the corner.
This day had been atrocious.
You had woken up before dawn to begin preparations for the gala currently taking place, been screamed at by multiple vendors unhappy about their placements, got caught in the rain on your way around town, and barely had time to sit down before you were thrust into a chair and made to get ready for the night.
And that was just today.
There had been pressure from all sides to find comradery between the courts after the war, and as an emissary to the night court and the one most familiar with each High Lord, you had been elected to carry out that task. A task that had taken weeks of bad days to come to fruition.
To put it lightly, you were beaten down.
“Perhaps you can speak to the High Lord about that, yes?” the Spring Court emissary drawled, an ending to the 20-minute speech you had hardly been listening to.
You smiled anyway. “Oh yes, of course. Perhaps you could send me a follow-up correspondence in a few weeks to ensure I get your reply readily?”
The emissary scoffed, looking you up and down with a cloistered sneer. “Can’t even keep track of little conversation? Typical. I guess I can send you a reminder, though…”
The vicious man’s words began to bubble out of your mind, a low buzzing replacing the demeaning tone. You jutted your jaw to the side and pursed your lips in an attempt to hold back the burning in your waterline.
This was exhausting and too much and was quickly becoming a thankless job. You had told Rhysand you were up to the feat, but you had not accounted for all of the screaming and complaining and belittling some of the courts seemed to favor.
From the corner of your eye, you saw Azriel kick up from the wall. You threw him a watery, chastising look—knowing by the gleam in his eye that he was set to cause trouble with the man before you—but the Shadowsinger only raised a brow and tugged on the bond deep in your chest.
Azriel had grown weary of your tired excuses and your half-hearted assurances that you were doing okay. It was obvious that every time you lied, he grew more impatient, more concerned.
But you had to do this—for Rhysand, for Feyre, for the court.
You hadn’t been able to fight in the war, so you could throw a simple gala and suck it up.
Your mate stopped his approach, but you saw his jaw clench and his fingers roll up into his palm as the man only continued to drone on.
“Do you think you could do that, then?”
Shit. You had not been listening to a word he said, too concerned with Azriel’s thwarted approach.
“I apologize,” you shook your head with a sheepish smile. “Could do what? It’s just so loud in here.”
“Is this truly the best the night court has to offer?”
That made the battle with your tears even more difficult. You swallowed the lump growing in your throat and tried to pretend you weren’t staving off a massive headache alone with it.
“I know, I’m sorry. There is just much I have to do for the night and my mind is elsewhere—”
“Thank you, Fike. You can send a letter addressed to the night court emissary when the night concludes,” Azriel cut in, interrupting the rough scratch of your voice. “It’s uncouth to speak so much of business at a party. And you are always so boring.”
You heard the remnants of another scoff leave the Spring Court emissary's mouth, but Azriel was already guiding you out of the ballroom and into the hallway with a steady hand on your back. You took deep breaths as you went, your nose burning with the action.
Get yourself together. You’re fine. A small issue in an otherwise—
Azriel hummed and pressed you against the wall of the hallway, quelling your rampant thoughts with the hand on your stomach. His other was pressed above your head, trapping you in an embrace, keeping only him in your eyeline.
“You’re okay,” he comforted, taking exaggerated, deep breaths. “Just us here.”
You blinked and shook your head in quick succession. “No, I know, Az. I’m completely fine. I just needed to get away from Fike. I have to go back in.”
“You are crying, my love.” Azriel brought his hand up from your stomach and brushed away tears you hadn’t felt fall. “You’re overwhelmed. I don’t know why you’ve put yourself under this much stress, but you need to stop for a moment.”
“No. No, I'm okay. I’m not stressed. I don’t know what’s happening to me—why I’m crying. I feel fine.”
Azriel’s expression pinched, grimacing as he watched your chest rise and fall unsteadily. “Y/n—”
“It’s just a gala,” you affirmed, more tears falling with the quick flurry of your words. “Just a gala. I can do this one thing. You all fought in a war and you made me stay home. You could have died. I can host a stupid gala.”
You furiously wiped at the wet tracks on your cheeks, brushing Azriel’s soft touch aside. But he only halted your movements, his fingers wrapping around your wrist.
“Hey—hey. Don’t be so rough. Y/n, this is not a stupid gala. Look at me.” When you refused, Azriel released your wrist and tipped your chin up until you met his eye. He smiled despite the pain in your eyes. “There’s my girl.”
And despite the pain, you huffed out a small laugh.
Azriel would take it. He readied the spiel he’d been prepping since you began this venture. “This is not just a stupid gala and you didn't just stay home during the war.” Azriel pressed a kiss to your forehead, a pause he couldn’t help but take. “You protected everyone in the allied courts. You were our informant. You were winnowing so often you passed out, need I remind you.”
“But I wasn’t—”
“I don’t care if you weren’t fighting. What you did was just as valuable and you know that. Just as this gala is valuable to our peace. You are valuable.”
Your face heated beneath his words, his body pressed to yours in the hallway as the gala continued on.
“I need to be useful,” you admitted, after a pause. “This needed to be perfect.”
“It is perfect, my love. My sweet mate. You need to take a rest. You’re breaking apart and I can’t stand to see you like this. Come here.” Azriel slotted your head in the bend between his shoulder and his neck, sliding his hands down your back until his wings came around as well. “Can I force you into bed? Just for an hour at most. I swear I’ll wake you up and we will come back down.”
You made to move away from him in disbelief, still panicked at the idea of abandoning your work, but Azriel only held you tighter.
“That wasn’t really a question.”
And so Azriel took you to bed.

Contrary to popular belief, Gojo Satoru was never in a relationship. And he was fairly awkward to say the least. Sure, girls had a crush on him and he was chased all around the block, but he never truly attempted to make a move so it never worked out. Because of his job and because of who he was- the honored one, brought a veil of loneliness in his life and misfortune to people who associated with him. He never really knew how to deal with girls- joking and teasing was his way to go, but that only brought him rejection and girls would often shift their feelings to Suguru. His youth flew before his very eyes and he's 30 now. All of his friends died mostly and he's still taking care of the kids. At least he has a goal to maintain and raise a powerful generation of young sorcerers. It still doesn't take away from the fact that he's a lonely 30yo man. He could deny it as much as he wanted to, but it pained him.
Because of the staff shortage, Tokyo high was in dire need of new recruits, and that's where you came into the picture. A foreigner yet so oddly familiar, the girl next door, acquainted with the sorcery and sacrifice that came with it. Your serious expression and tired eyes told him everything, there was no need for words. He understood quite well, he could relate to you and find solace in the fact that someone shares his burdens now that he's not so completely alone anymore. You're so young, so pretty and yet so damaged by the world that it makes him feel overprotective of you. He wants to give you peace the way nobody ever did for him. But that's ok, he's the strongest after all. You're smiling under your breath, you're a sorcerer as much as he is. He's supposed to do his job and not care too much about what's going to happen to you on missions. The truth is- he didn't want to lose another person again.
So he took you out everywhere, one day it was Tokyo's famous coffee shop, the other was a prestigious high end restaurant. You realize he's rich, still, you didn't want to take advantage of him. He insists, he wants to spend time with you. He wants to know you better, ever went as far as escort you to dorms to take a look at your room. You tell him you're not the glitz and glam type of girl and that you're ok with the normie stuff. And he liked you more for it. So you had room hangouts, small coffee dates and arcade games. Sometimes it makes him cry when he remembers that he used to do all those things with Suguru and Shoko before. You felt nostalgic too, your childhood was basically ripped from your hands and there was nothing you could do about it except reminisce. But you were adults now and lingering on the past was useless. Only thing you could do was move forward.
Satoru doesn't like to talk about himself much, you noticed. But that's ok. It's probably a dark story, not much different from yours. You already knew of the Gojo clan and their connection to Michizane Sugawara. All his family members are dead, you didn't know why but that's probably what happens when you're a well known name in this dark sorcery world. Everyone goes for your head, especially the higher ups. Which is ironic considering they're supposed to be associates. Maybe he is the strongest but this was a thankless job. And sometimes it seemed like everything was put up against him. Not you though.
At first you were plainly colleagues, nothing special. Then friends. Then the lingering touches started to feel more frequent than usual. Then he kissed you for the first time- it was when he opened up and how he's wishing for more positive things, something that could potentially lighten up his world. He doesn't want to be alone and he doesn't want to feel like life just flashed before him. He wants to make an impact, even if it meant making you happy, because you were enough to him. And you felt the same way. This love didn't feel like fire, a burning spark of the moment- hurried and tasteless. It felt like a deep sea of calmness and assurance- you could be yourselves with each other, you didn't have to pretend anything. Because being each other's safe space was enough.
Funny, Tokyo high needed new recruits again since you were on maternity leave and no matter how long they awaited your return, you never quite seemed to come back to work. Satoru is laughing because they're blaming him for everything and he can't deny it because it's the truth. He has a beautiful wife and beautiful babies to come home to and the best part- you don't have to be exposed to the dangerous sorcery world anymore. The kids were lively and annoying but god did they remind you of him. They preferred you more though. You're laughing and Gojo is pouting because it's not his fault that he's away from home all the time. He's missing you so much. But, of course, they're sleeping with him when you're away doing your face routine before bed. You return to your room and see them huddled in Gojo's arms. It's adorable and you get emotional again.
Please don't die Satoru. His missions were getting dangerous by the week and seeing his smiley face on the doors hugging your kids was everything you could hope for. You begged him to change jobs but he doesn't want to listen. He claims that he's responsible for the imbalance of the world and therefore he should be the one keeping everyone safe. He's stricken with guilt. Or maybe it's his hero complex that makes him so rebellious to authority and, in this case, his wife. But he'd rather die a honorable death than be taken out by something embarrassing such as old age or sickness. You're begging him to think of the kids and he does, he's thinking about them every single day. Their safety is his top priority, so is yours. And you're scared, you really are. You love him so much. You wish things could be easier, but it's ok. As long as you have each other's backs it didn't matter. You can overcome any obstacles together. He's not alone, he has a family now.

Hello. How are you?
I've recently been following you, and I really love your art and I love how informative you are. You honestly such a joy to see and listen to.
As a question, what is your opinion on Dream? I don't know if you already answered this or not. But I was wondering.
And, I saw how long that Killer question was, (I read it all), so you don't have to answer this either. You can use a few sentences if you want. But it's totally your choice.
Yeah, that's all. Drink water, eat food, surround yourself with people that love you for who you are, and I love you (PLATONICALLY) <3
Hi!! I’m doing well! Thank you <3333
And awww!! Glad i bring you joy! :D
And thanks for the reminders!! Appreciate them so much! Hope you’re doing great, Love you too! /p
And omg fave little guy no.3 time for another ramble hcchchhc
I actually absolutely ADORE Dream, he’s kind, honest, hard working, and very big hearted
Dream tries his best to be nothing but a joy to those around him, he strives to make everyone happy, and not just cause he’s a guardian of positivity, it’s just how he is as a person, he loves making people happy, to be the sunshine in their lives, even if people are thankless or completely unaware of how much effort he puts into making them happy
His unconditional love for Nightmare and the way he cares so much about him above anything and anyone else, the way it reflects on his actions and how Nightmare’s corruption never changes how much he loves his brother?? Crying i can’t why is this boi so so precious
Yet Dream makes really sad, i mean, he himself endured abuse from the villagers, but instead of relentlessly bullying him, they were taking advantage of his kindness and naivety as a child, he spread himself too thin for them, yet not a single one stopped to think that he is a child, people never truly cared for Dream as much as they cared about the golden apples and the apple incident is an obvious example of that
And i feel like this is one of the reasons he’s an absolute people pleaser, he was conditioned to believe he has to put the happiness of others before his own at such a young age, that it’s somehow his job to make people happy even if it makes him feel bad, and while Dream’s job is obviously to help people, it was never his job to put their happiness before his, but what’s a clueless child to do y’know?
And that’s something i like to believe he never truly grew out of until he expended his energy completely after centuries, even then, Dream still feels guilty when he puts his foot down and tells someone to stop something or when he isn’t willing to help them, the guilt still eats away at him but it’s something i believe he’ll learn to quell, that it’s not his fault, or his job to destroy himself for the sake of what others want
There’s also the fact Dream has to fight his brother, the one he loves the most, it obviously hurts Dream’s heart immensely, he likes to believe his brother is still there deep down, and while he’s half right, time and corruption changed Nightmare, which Dream learns to adapt to, that just like Nightmare changed he has to change himself if he wanted to catch up, it doesn’t change the fact Dream’s heart is beyond broken for losing his brother
The fact Dream had to endure 500 years of being trapped as a statue, the last thing he saw was his brother’s crazed look and countless dead bodies all killed by his own brother, the fact he was willing to talk to Nightmare regardless and the fact it never changed how much he loves Nightmare even when his brother’s actions horrified him, Dream obviously realizes that they were both only children who endured so much and who both experienced a very traumatic event
The thing is, Dream and Nightmare are twins, and unlike none twin siblings, twins tend to be a lot closer and they act as two halves of the same whole, and I feel like half of Dream just feels so empty, the half his brother used to fill, Dream feels so alone in the world, cause nobody holds the same burden he does, yet what does Dream do? Smile, hold his head high, and face the challenges of every dreaded day head on, he doesn’t falter or break even under the immense pressure of his job, his corrupted brother, and everyone’s expectations of him
That doesn’t mean Dream is happy or has a fulfilling life, far from it, he’s broken, and just like Nightmare, he has an inner child in dire need to heal, but he doesn’t let life, his burden, his past or dreaded future dictate how he views today, he survives day by day and is still willing to put on a genuine smile regardless
If that isn’t bravery, idk what is

I know FNaF seems to be going the whole “William is a crazy psychopath obsessed with immortality just because he is” type of route, but setting that on fire for a few moments, I like to think that at some point he was just a dude.
Maybe he dropped his kids off at school on the way into work. Maybe he played video games with his kids. Maybe he laughed and cried with his family, loved them, cherished them.
Maybe he worked a miserable office job, with that one co-worker who was always better than him. Sure, William was jealous of the guy, but even he had to admit he found Henry admirable.
Maybe he started joking around with the guy, about leaving the thankless corporate life and putting their little town on the map.
Maybe he and Henry went bowling on Wednesdays, which eventually changed to Henry giving William robotics lessons in a stuffy garage with grease stains on every surface.
Maybe William’s wife died and that’s when he discovered Agony.
Maybe one of the prototypes, a more human one, was the perfect place to house the life that the Agony gave.
Maybe his wife wasn’t dead.
Maybe he could he could use this… this Remnant of life for more. Who could he trust to make sure he lived on even after death?
Maybe he could only trust himself.
Maybe he could use his children to create more Remnant. It was never meant to be a serious idea, it was just a strange thing he had come up with while drunk one night.
Maybe it was only a joke that he made it, just to prove that he could. He wasn’t a bad person… right?
Maybe they would just go in there once or twice.
Maybe once or twice more, the feeling of pain and power when what little, yet glorious, Agony they produced was injected into his veins…
Maybe it didn’t matter what was better for his children. What mattered was what was best for him.
Maybe his children looked at him differently, perhaps that was fear on their faces. Strange, he didn’t feel like he was acting different. Perhaps it was simply he was no longer as weak as before he injected himself with Remnant.
Maybe Henry had noticed how he’d become more assertive, how he stood up straighter, how dedicated he became. He probably just thought it was due to the diner opening soon
Maybe Evan had died. That was fine, no one was ever truly dead, as William had learned. Didn’t mean he excused Michael for murdering his little brother either.
Maybe William had murdered Charlie. So what? If he hadn’t taken Henry down a notch, Henry might have stolen the company right under his nose!
Maybe a few more kids died. But William needed more Remnant. He needed to know more.
Maybe Elizabeth had died. Oh well, she was still here, even more so than Evan.
Maybe William was just going to check on the souls, see if the dead could really produce more Remnant when forced to stick around.
Maybe he was terrified when they started to chase him. But the great William Afton couldn’t be terrified? He was immortal! He was a god and these were weak mortals he’d crushed for the greater good!
Maybe he would be safe in the very springlock suit he’d used to kill them. Hah, the fools. They may think they were smart but he—
Maybe he could die.
Maybe these springlocks that had provided him with a safety net of anonymity would be the end of him.
Maybe death would be a relief as the springlocks dug into his skin. He had never seen so much of his own blood before.
Maybe the ghost children danced around him, celebrating his supposed demise.
Maybe he sat in that storage room for 30 years, his rage and anger boiling over. It would have had to, for he had nothing else to sustain him.

I respect the grind I truly do & I understand that being an author is a hard and often thankless job, especially if you try to be any good, but are you telling me, and I'm supposed to believe on top of that, that those are two different books with two different plots written by two different authors.

Any recommended reading for a newbie to anarchism?
David Graeber truly is the best entry point into the pipeline i feel. Reading his work doesn't feel like "reading theory", it feels like learning more about a specific aspect of the world from an engaging, open-minded author who makes history and anthropology accessible, and then simply realizing somewhere along the line that you've become a lot more radical than you realized you'd always been.
Bullshit Jobs is his easiest and most approachable read -- start with this if you're not a big reader of dense books, or if my book Laziness Does Not Exist particularly spoke to you. It's about how the majority of reasonably well-paying jobs today are completely meaningless, and why important, fulfilling jobs that are actually necessary to run society are so often thankless and poorly paid.
If you have student loan or credit card debt out the ass or you grew up hearing the myth that the earliest human societies relied on trading and bartering, pick up Debt: The First 5000 Years. This one is a bit of a tougher read than Bullshit Jobs, but still approachable, talking about the history of human commerce, debt forgiveness, enslavement, and where that history has left us today. You'll learn a lot about history but Graeber will also always lead you back to the present.
If you were a follower of the Occupy Wallstreet movement and wonder why it failed (or whether it failed), pick up The Democracy Project. This is a slimmer, faster read! And it focuses a lot more on the practical tactics and bylaws of Occupy organizing. In it, Graeber illustrates how human groups can be run without hierarchy and just how well that can work! It's perhaps the most explicitly anarchist book of his in that sense at least, yet it's also very conversational and easy to follow, with lots of lessons learned and specific examples from real-life organizing meetings.
If you hate rules and bureaucracy, pick up Utopia of Rules. What Debt is for bursting basic, widespread myths about economics, Utopia of Rules is for challenging mainstream knowledge about the role of the state. This one is actually an essay collection, and that makes it a quicker, easier read than many of the others -- in each chapter, Graeber tackles one specific aspect of irritating modern-day bureaucracy, and its full of relatable gripes about going to the DMV or applying for unemployment, but then it zooms out to make a larger point about how societies now function (and fail to function).
If you're interested in Indigenous cultures and how various human societies have approached governance, start with Dawn of Everything, which he co-wrote with David Wengrow. Now this is a MUCH denser book that I recommend taking chapter by chapter, pausing to savor all the new information and paradigm-busting that they've just showered you with. A chapter before bed each night and then some time laying down and simply reflecting about the diversity of human social potential is a great way to slowly work your way through it.
If you read any of these, you'll be left with a lot of ideas as to where to look next -- Graeber was widely read in a great many fields himself, so he'll leave you a trail of breadcrumbs to follow.
The Anarchist Library online is also a great place to find shorter, more explicitly anarchist theory work, once you're ready to delve in. The r/debateanarchism subreddit is also something you should subscribe to and thumb through every once in a while!
