i love, love, love your if. the characters are perfectly fleshed out and the lore and story are just- mwah. perfection. but. butt(see what i did there? ;3c). take care of yourself. i keep getting surprised at how quickly you keep posting updates (at least that’s what it feels like to me. i have school and stuff so homework is taking up a lot of my free time🙃). take breaks, get enough sleep, don’t skip meals, and look at cat memes (cats are superior). also take care of your hands. i write as a hobby so i know the pain of sore hands. with the amount of words you type/write, my hands are crying out for yours. take breaks when your hands start to hurt so nothing bad happens to them.

anyways (onto the actually ask part of this. sorry for the long lecture lol), i was wondering how would the ROs react to an MC that sang as a side hustle (i’m in my schools choir. our concert was tonight). would they go to MCs impromptu concerts (they may sing in bars or cafes, etc.) or wait for MC to get home and request a lullaby or something? (idk if i explained that well. i’m terrible at explaining things😭)

Some days, I can be really busy with some irl stuff, but I spent most of my free time working on this project, including writing the main story, side stories and other exclusive contents. I tried to answer asks whenever I can, but as some of you can probably see, it’s getting harder to find enough slivers of my free time to answer a lot of asks everyday, unfortunately.

But if I happen to have extra time, I’ll try answering a bunch of asks—as many as I could—in one sitting 😄 I’m still sad tho because I have so many awesome asks that I couldn’t get to, especially the reactions one because those usually take some time to answer.

Oh, they’ll be there—or try their very best to be there. As long as there’s no emergency for them to attend, they’ll even be willing to sneak out of the station to go watch MC 😂 Between mind-numbing paperwork and enjoying MC’s singing, there’s no doubt which one they will pick every time. Did you miss me?

Hey my babies 👋🏼🤗. How are you? Wow, has it really been that long? It's been 1 year and 2 months apparently and it doesn't seem so 😅. I feel like a part of me should apologize for the absence, so I'm sorry 🙏🏼 but, to be completely honest, the other part of me doesn't want to justify because this is just an app we use to distract ourselves from the reality of daily life 🤭🤣. So, for those who have been wondering, my recap is that I'm 31 now, I've been unhealthy/sick for several things, last year I grieved for my baby girl dog who passed away after 12 years (and who took a piece of my soul with her), I changed my job and I’m being mobbed by my boss every day 😅. The several most important good news? I adopted a beautiful puppy girl in September of this year 😍🤩 and my girlfriend whom you also know well came to me here in Italy twice; once for three months last year, and once for our 2-year anniversary this year by staying for almost a month ❤🥰😍🤩. Oh and, of course, I've started writing again as of today. This obviously has to be put among the good news 🤣. I won't hide from you that I've missed writing, so here I am, although I can't promise that I'll be very active in answering the asks as before due to my various commitments, but I'll try to be here more often 😉.

Oh yeah I get that. But personally I feel like it was a fun ride, you know? Even if it didn't stick the landing. The Flash was another one with a weird ending.

Oh I 100% recommend Doctor Who. You don't need to watch tge backlog if you don't want to (I only watched NewWho, cause I couldn't find Classic Who anywhere). If you have a disney+ subscription you can catch the new season 1 on Disney Plus. It's awesome.

Oh heavens i've been wanting to get into comics but it's so overwhelming (and expensive in the long run). I looked for comic books at my local library but they don't have any. I looked into getting a Marvel Unlimited subscription but that's hella expensive - and would only cover Marvel, and I wanna get into DC as well.

Oh jeremy renner, i don't know why but I don't vibe with him. Like i haven't heard anything bad about him, you know, I just... don't trust him. But if you like him i recommend The Renner Files. A six episode podcast about his app.

I love the conjuring and horror movies too! I'm hyped for horror movies in general and definitely for the new Conjuring. I heard it's gonna be the last one which sucks. I wish the franchise would go on for many more years cause it's so entertaining. Like sometimes (like with The Devil Made Me Do It) it's even camp. And will do!

Oh the test is scheduled for next months. It's a routine test. Cholesterol, stuff like that. Plus getting my annual hiv test (just a precaution) and getting tested to find out my blood type (it's good to know). Oh don't scratch that itch! It burns like all heck. i think it was just really disappointing to me that they took such a good show and ran it to the ground. i loved it in the begging but it didn’t feel worth it in the end to me 😬 i ditched the flash sometime after cisco left. i could see that one was getting the same fate as arrow. sad bc those shows all started out so strong.

Yandere Hetalia – Limited Affection

England

“I don’t know what you want to achieve through this, but it is becoming extremely frustrating”, Arthur commented, as you drew back. He had attempted to kiss you when you had bent down to set the tea tray in front of him, only for you to stubbornly tilt your face up, causing his lips to clumsily land on your chin. Now his grey-green eyes were narrowed to a glare and an unpleasant sneer lay on his lips as he regarded you. Of course, his hair-trigger temper was neigh to rearing its ugly head, but for now he was just irritated, for now you were relatively safe.

Sucking in a deep breath as discreetly as you could, you maintained eye contact. Arthur Kirkland frightened you, very much at times, yet you couldn’t allow it to show, because like a lion, he would maul you if he sensed fear.

“I could say the same about your doings”, you countered evenly, making sure to speak slowly and carefully. In return, he raised a thick eyebrow and snaped at you:

“Transparent excuses and deflections! Matters between us could be so lovely, yet you insist on being petty. Affection is something all humans crave, and if you want to have some, you better start bringing your own share to the table. Kiss me back when I wish to kiss you, or I’m cancelling that trip any future outings until further notice!”

England wouldn’t deal well with you refusing to kiss him. At first, he would let it slide, ignoring it in order to focus on more imminent problems, such as your manners and your general reaction to him. Though, as time, would pass, he would become more and more annoyed until one day he would lash out at you. Aren’t couples supposed to kiss and cuddle? Then why aren’t you doing it with him? Why would you insist on being so difficult?

He would start issuing ultimatums and if those threats wouldn’t work, he would start revoking rights. This would either culminate in a torture session in the cellar or somebody from your old life being harmed.

Germany

Ludwig leaned over to your side of the bed, fully intent on stealing himself a goodnight kiss, only for you to guess his intentions and curl in on yourself, burying your face in your arms. The sharp sting of rejection nestled itself in his heart. This wasn’t something new, yet it didn’t mean it didn’t hurt. If anything, it was like dripping acid in a festering wound.

“Good night”, you said, the words muffled by how you had positioned yourself. He laid back down on the bed, tugging the duvet up to his chin. For a few forlorn minutes he just stared at the celling, listing to how your breathing eventually evened out as you drifted into uneasy sleep. You generally didn’t sleep well when you shared a bed with him, yet he did, and that was why he insisted that you stayed with him.

You were still upset with him. Of course, he had tried to make the transition from having a social circle to just having him, yet the whole operation had gone wrong. The cuts hadn’t been clean, and he had had to pull a fair amount of strings to get law enforcement to back off. Emotions were already hard to deal with when it were just his own; the problematic grew exponentially when having to deal with other people’s emotions. It wouldn’t be the first time where he had asked whey humans couldn’t be more like machines, following cold, hard logic and operating along predictable tangents. Then he could easily fix your attitude towards him – greasing the gears, swapping the burned through resistors and using a more flexible steel alloy for upgrades to the hard mechanics. Yet that wasn’t the case.

He rolled up to his side and curled into a fetal position.

It would rouse Ludwig’s guilt over the situation. He would be cognizant over the fact that what he would be doing would be illegal and immoral. It would gnaw at his conscience until he wouldn’t be able to sleep. Yet that wouldn’t be enough to persuade him to let you go. After all, you would be only one person, not a whole population. After all, wouldn’t he deserve a little something for having reformed so well?

If you could make him wallow in his guilt even more, then maybe you could convince him to let you go. That wouldn’t be achieved through kicking and screaming but rather through small acts of defiance and pointed observations. While he would be extremely self-critical, there would still be a hefty dose of anger and pride simmering underneath it all.

Norway

Lukas keenly followed you with his eyes as you drifted about the kitchen, gathering ingredients for a cake. As always, when you were nervous, you resorted to busying yourself with some menial task to distract yourself from your own thoughts. This time was because he had told about the publicity stunt that he had in mind. He was going to propose to you, and you knew well what that meant. It meant that you had have say yes and act overjoyed, embracing him and kissing him. You had have to kiss him, something you had avoided doing all this time.

You set down the glass jar with the sugar with far more force that needed. Oh yes, you didn’t like the idea of officially becoming his fiancée at all, and what made it worse was that you were well aware of the repercussions to openly rejecting him.

You knew that if allowed any of your true feelings to seep through, that the lives of your loved ones would take a drastic turn for the worse. Not to mention that most of your time would then be spent in a deary white room.

Lukas wouldn’t demand kisses from you in day-to-day life, and he wouldn’t mind that much if you would refuse to kiss him at all. He would simply patiently wait for the day where you would finally open up to him. Yet, he would also have a certain love for rituals, and some of them would involve kisses. While he wouldn’t outwardly show it very much, he would be very upset if you wouldn’t play along and there be severe repercussions.

South Italy

There was the smell of wine on his breath and his eyes were glazed over as he stared at you. At this point you didn’t know if it was because of the alcohol or your rejection for simple affections – it could be both for all you knew. After all, he could become very emotional after a glass to many.

“My love, why not be a bit nicer for once?”, he asked, his gait becoming slower due to his bad mood. You had your arms hooked together for a night time stroll by the beach. You were sure if this had been another person, somebody that wasn’t twistedly obsessive and possessive when it came to you, somebody that didn’t insist that you were beholden to him in every possible way, then you would be besotted.

You do what you can to soften your features, swallowing your distain, you said cooly: “Tit for that.”

This time you had gone too far. He stopped entirely, glaring at you and then snarling angerly: “Bullshit. You are ungrateful, obnoxious, selfish, frigid … and just terrible an ungrateful brat. Where do you get off saying such cruel things?”

Your refusals would dig at the insecurities that Romano would harbour. For a time, he would actually believe that you only wouldn’t want to kiss him because you were seeing somebody else without his knowledge or permission. As such, he could frequently lock you in your room or keep your unconscious for extended periods of time.

On the other hand, this could also cause him to revise his behaviour around you. Kisses are very important to South Italy, so he would try to find ways to earn your affections. If you wouldn’t go to far, then you could even use this to make him comply with many of your wishes.

It was after defeating lbd when the two of you met, and how you met was by, surprisingly enough by mk and mei.

Your family was friends with mei’s family and so you met her first then mk.

But, anyway; nezha was hanging out with the two at the noodle shop when you came it to both meet up with the two and get your favorite kind of noodles that only pigsy knows how to make.

When he first saw you, he noticed some type of energy coming from you that is somewhat like a deity or a demon but he quickly noticed that you were neither of these beings.

And when mei introduced you to him and also added that you are a witch/warlock.

(Why I did that with witch and warlock is because I have seen males who uses magic are called both of those so I just added both since some people might call males with that ability one of the two…. If that makes sense 😂😅)

What you noticed about him is his lotus like theme clothing you kinda just started calling him little lotus in your head.

With him it would take at least a good few months before he realizes his feelings for you.

With you it was a month rather than a few months like him.

It takes a full year before he decides to confess to you.

The confession went wrong as both of you had confessed at the same time but it all worked out in the end.

I headcannon that nezha never really bothered with relationships until now since he mostly had duties to do along with guarding the map that sun wukong stole.

With nicknames between the two of you; he likes to call you (n/n) along with magician.

While you call him prince and little lotus and on occasions blossom.

He’s easily flustered when you give him affection since he’s never been in a relationship before.

He gives you more affection than he does before when he’s tired and frustrated with something that happened, either by wukong or him doing his duties as the third lotus prince.

There’s this one time you pranked sun wukong and that made nezha laugh, which in turn made you stare at him in admiration because of his cute laugh.

She really puts the “blue” in “blooey,” doesn’t she?

I’ve made you wait for quite a while, so I thought I’d skip the guest hosting, GIFs, Double-GIFs, etc. this time around and finally share the long-awaited “big reveal” number 56!  Let’s cut to the chase (no pun intended), shall we?

Politics are a messy business even in the Paper Mushroom Kingdom, apparently.  😄

So, for those not familiar with Paper Mario, it’s a turn-based RPG series (Super Paper Mario being one exception) that, like several other video game series, allows you to do some questionable things, including but not limited to the ones described by Princess Peach in this comic.  One game in particular even lets Mario attack the woman herself.

Oddly enough, though, she seems to be the only one who cares about it.  😆

While I know Mario’s not the type to hurt innocent people, I couldn’t help but wonder what would happen if this sort of thing was canon to the story.  If it was, it would make Mario the sort of person who can and will save the day when the situation calls for it, but who also has a habit of getting on people’s nerves (in other words, a bit of an antihero).

While we’re on the subject, those of you who are gamers can probably name a few other examples of this in other game series -- Mario jumping on piantas’ heads in Super Mario Sunshine, Link picking up pots and breaking them in the Legend of Zelda series, Fox shooting/crashing into his allies in the Star Fox series, and so on.  There are even some Legend of Zelda games that will punish you for taking it too far (ex. The Wind Waker, Spirit Tracks, etc.).  But since the Paper Mario series seems to mostly let Mario’s shenanigans slide, I decided to see how his fellow papery people would react if they took them seriously.  Quite a bit different, isn’t it?  And hilarious, of course.  😏

So, a couple of things I hope you didn’t notice about the comic -- first, it’s apparently been a while since I used the “flesh” colored pencil, which is why Peach seems a bit paler in the second two panels than in the first two.  I attempted to fix that with GIMP, but it became too much of a hassle in the end, so I decided to leave it as is.  On the other hand, it kind of makes sense for her to look redder in the second panel, doesn’t it?  😄

I also kind of messed up Peach’s glove on the righthand side of the final panel.  I forgot that it’s supposed to get thinner as it moves toward her hand somehow.  🤷‍♂️  But given how many details there were in each panel, I’m actually pretty glad that those are the only noticeable errors!  I mean, I guess the shape of the railing could be a little more consistent, but...eh, close enough.

I’ve been learning to say those two words a lot while drawing lately, by the way.  It’s a big help for someone as persnickety as me.  😅

Interestingly enough, the Princess was made after a very recent version of her...

...while the room she’s in, the chair she’s sitting in, and the book she’s reading were based on a couple of screenshots from the very first Paper Mario game:

It turns out that even Nintendo 64 games include a lot of details you don’t notice until you try to draw them.  Copying the orange and yellow swirls of one column, the vertical stripes of two others, the fancy blue banner, the railing posts, the table and potted plant, and the sky-themed wall design was a challenge, but it made for good practice, as well as making it that much more rewarding to get to the more enjoyable parts -- namely, Peach’s shiny crown and hair, her beautiful outfit, and her hilarious faces and gestures.  😊

I also never realized how hard phone cords are to draw before now, but making a convincing spiral shape was another good challenge.  I started out by drawing a line that curved the way I wanted the cord to, then drawing the cord around it, and...it looks like it worked out okay.  🙂

Silent Night (2021)

This isn’t a typical review (cast, plot, narrative, final score…), but more of an essay on finding reasons why the film has left me so distraught by the end of it. And even feeling more so, days later.

If this isn’t your kind of thing, I totally understand 😉 Especially if the film didn’t upset you as much (I am probably a minority anyway!), then this is certainly going to read like a : “WTF is she on about? Get over IT!” So if this you and you simply came for the Silent Night giggles: exit HERE. 😄

*SPOILERS* Warning!

The last couple of days I have made quite a few gif sets of several scenes. So I posted : the funniest scenes, all of the dancing and Goodey just being his adorable funny quirky self. Now out of all of those, there was just this 1 set with Simon & Nell dancing, that hinted at the drama in Silent Night.

If you happen to have stumbled on my gif sets and you haven’t seen the film yet or read any spoilers - you may well think that Matthew and Keira are starring in a very funny and smart festive comedy! Maybe wondering, well where’s the drama then? Or the horror element?

As for the ones who have already seen the film, I hope all the giggles in the gifs helped in some way to process the drama?

The fact is that I’ve been procrastinating writing a review for the last 3 days. During that time I also had no wish no make any gifs or screencaps of the 10+ deeply upsetting scenes. Thinking about writing a proper review, I tried to rewatch the entire film - but I honestly couldn’t handle it and thus failed miserably with flooded tears, after 30 minutes.

So in my case, not only does the ending of the film leave you an emotional wreck - it becomes even more painful the second time round as you know what will happen.

Even though I am fully aware and usually very good at following rule no 1: Never ever confuse the actors with their characters! It’s all just acting after all… Matthew’s superbe but heartbreaking performance - makes it really bloody hard not to in this one. So yes, Simon does make me cry…a lot..in this film.

I have a feeling it’s actually because of the comedy aspect of the film. We see so much of Matthew being his goofball self as Goodey in all those funny scenes - acting as Simon. That when the story flip-flops back into the drama & horror, it’s emotionally challenging to watch Simon’s utter hopelessness, despair and grief. Not that the casual viewer may not be affected too… but let’s face it this is a Goode blog, so you hopefully know what I mean?

Roman Griffin Davis (Art) - where to begin? Your brilliant acting performance broke me young man! Funny, charming, witty and of course Art was the heart and voice of reason in the film. I don’t know what hurts more: to watch Art’s death (the poisoning by the gas) followed by his parents’ grief, or the fact that Art came back to life in that final shot? The punchline of the entire film: “you could have survived the apocalypse if you hadn’t taken the exit pill’’ More poignantly: if Simon and Nell had listened to their son, the entire family would still be alive. Art wouldn’t have to wake up next to his dead parents and siblings - and possibly grow up without any family or friends. I guess that’s why it’s so upsetting: you continue to process all these different scenarios long after the credits.

I get that this film is a dig at the British middle-class and we’re most likely not meant to care so much about Simon and Nell. We are only in their company for 90 minutes, but I would lie if I said that I wouldn’t mind to see that family in a weekly 30 mins comedy TV show. Obviously the parents have their character faults and quite a lot to answer for! Leaving the actual plot of the film (climate change,end of the world, the exit pill) to one side for just one second - I absolutely loved the family dynamics and the interactions with their three sons.

We just saw a glimpse of their relationship, but Nell and Simon are a couple I would be rooting for. After Nell’s mother passes away, they try to find comfort and courage in each other, knowing full well that they have to kill their children and themselves in a few more hours. And… a few beats later we see them dancing to Fame!

See this is one of those perfect examples of what happens with the editing in Silent Night. A heartbreaking moment or a poignant scene is followed by comedy. A true rollercoaster 🎢 of emotions the whole way through. I am really trying my best to get into the mindset of Camille Griffin (director and writer) : “that the comedy is there to deliver and facilitate the drama.“ However if the point of the comedy aspect was to help the viewer digest the drama and storyline of the apocalypse better - and maybe even laugh at the end instead of feeling upset for the characters - then that way of storytelling didn’t work out for me at all! Again I know full well that I am in the minority here, and most audiences will indeed either laugh or simply shrug and don’t care at all. Moving on the next film / tv on the watchlist.

So after all that, do I like the film? YES!! For all the brilliant performances by the ensemble cast and for their perfect comedic timing. Those scenes are a pure delight to watch and re-watch again and again. I would have been very happy spending 2 hours with this funny lot, without the doomsday scenario looming over them. Also that I’m apparently writing a novel… means that the production team must have done something right, or I wouldn’t have been affected this much.

Will I re-watch the entire film again soon? NO! Hopefully will get there after some more time has passed.I do applaud Camille for tackling the subject of climate change, social injustice and the unfairness of life - even in death. I just wished like some other reviewers that she had picked one genre and committed to it fully.

Hi! I stumbled upon your "Happy Cry" story in the "Ringing Silence" series, and my day is instantly brighter!! 🥰 I was going to put this in a reply there but ran out of space so I'm sending it in an ask instead 😅 (hope that's alright). It was adorable—such wonderful spatial brother fluff and hurt/comfort with so many great little details! 💖 I love this idea of talking about what happened in Spade being a catalyst for Langris & Finral beginning to rebuild their brotherly relationship. I can absolutely see Langris overthinking it and running in circles trying to understand Finral’s actions. I imagine that growing up in an environment where he was denied unconditional love and forced to “earn it” by living up to his parents unrealistic expectations (and even then, still never being enough) makes it difficult for Langris to believe that there is such a thing as love without strings attached, and you did such a great job of capturing that in this story. It was so clear in your writing that he was confused and wary of the love that his brother clearly has for him. Finral loves his brother with everything he has—without strings and without expecting anything in return, and I just adored how almost automatic his reassurance is in your story that yes, of course he loves his brother. He doesn’t even have to think about it, just like he doesn’t even have to think about jumping in to protect him. Also, can I just say, Finral being so generous with his words and his verbal affirmations of Langris was just perfectly in character! After all, Finral himself can live for years on a good compliment, so I can absolutely see him trying to build up Langris in a similar way by telling him that he loves him and is proud of him. (Finral’s thought that it sounded like something Vanessa would say was just the cherry on top! I love the circle of positive coping and words of affirmation!! Yami builds up & encourages Vanessa when he breaks into her tower (and the memory helps her build her own confidence & save her friends in the Forest of Witches) —Vanessa builds up & encourages Finral (at the Royal Knights Exam and probably other times too) — Finral builds up & encourages Langris in your story! This is good stuff!! 😄) I was really struck by Finral’s reasoning behind it too—that he’s telling Langris the words he would’ve wanted to hear, and I really think that, even if Finral wouldn’t know it, Langris would want to hear these same words himself. I think because Finral is one of those characters who wears his heart on his sleeve and is one we get to spend a bit of time with in the canon, it’s easy to see that his story and character arc is really marked by a deep desire for the unconditional love he never recieved as a child (arguably even his penchant for excessive flirting is a symptom of the fact he is really just starving for real love and acceptance), but I really think you’ve just perfectly hit the nail on the head with Langris in your story in that he also is starving for that kind of unconditional love, he just doesn’t think he deserves it and unlike Finral, he is looking for it in accomplishments, successes, & achievements—really trying to “earn it” by being the best and failing to understand that love is given, not earned. I don’t have words for what it did to my heart to have him realise in this story that his brother loves him and had really loved him all along without him needing to earn it. That line “Finral was the first, along with Finesse, to accept him as just who he was. He didn’t need to earn it.” was everything!! Oh my heart!! 💗 This is already getting super long so I won’t ramble too much about this, but I am positively just giddy and delighted that you’ve included Finesse in there as well! She really does care for both of her spatial boys very much, and though she & Langris got off to a bit a rocky start (at least on Langris’ side), I have always gotten the impression that they do care for each other and are friends so it’s nice to see that included here too! 🥰 Thanks so much for writing this!! I sometimes have a habit of taking an event in canon, and based on that start to formulate my view of the characters in question. And Finral's and Langri's brotherly relationship is one of those.

In a way, writing these fics is an exploration into canon for me, and I didn't really have a plan while writing it, but I absolutely agree with everything you said. Actually, the "it sounded a lot like something Vanessa would say", was something that... well, while writing, I wrote down the line, and went "I like this line, but it's not... 100% Finral to me". But it did sound like something he might say, while quoting someone. So I decided to keep it, and I'm super glad to hear that you thought it to be "the cherry on top"!

Langris is yet another tragic character in BC to me, and it didn't really click with me until I sat down to write a piece for him (In the Sing a Song series, in case you're interested), and I realized the very same thing. He has had to earn the "love" he got from his parents.

But um, long story short; I am absolutely delighted that I made you giddy with the story! ^^ Thank you very much for the lovely feedback!

Goodbye 2020

It’s just past 9.30 PM, so I’m less than 2.5 hours away from a new year, 2021... I have no idea what that year will bring me. (As @veerledejaegers mentioned, it can be basically only get better from here, right? 😬) But for me personally, 2020 has been a year full of suprises. A year full of lows (obviously), but also some signficant highs. One of those happened on Tuesday, 15 September 2020. That’s the idea I joined Tumblr. ☺️

Since then, I’ve been welcomed warmly my most of you. I have learned so much from you. Whether it was about Spanish culture, Islam (or the perspective of a Muslim young woman in particular), the experience of people of colour, about Germany, the 🌈 that is called the sexual spectrum (as well as the various genders people may identify as 💖), or about Belgian schools... But through Tumblr, I also learned a lot more about myself. About who I am as a person, that’s okay to struggle with things. And that other people struggle too. That brings me to my final point of disovery. I thought I already knew a lot about mental health. But you guys have taught many new things about and varities of mental illness, experiences of what than can be like, and –most importantly– methods to improve your mental health.

So, first of all: thank you so much for all of that!!

Finding Grant asleep on the couch was a common occurrence in the Safehouses he and Shawn stayed in. All the running and fighting tired him out much more easily than Shawn.

Normally a person would think better of trying to wake someone who clearly needed the rest.. but the older man was too excited to show his friend the little pitbull puppy he had found earlier.

He had it hidden in his shirt. Poking it’s tiny head up from the neck hole and licking his chin. It was just so precious! It was so good during the trip back too. Staying quiet when Shawn needed to hide from the wandering undead that were prowling around.

“Okay little guy. Let’s go say hello to Grant.” Shawn smiled as he unzipped his jacket and carefully took the puppy out of his shirt. He slowly walked over to Grant, who was still fast asleep on the couch.

With a slight chuckle, the former-toymaker placed the puppy onto Grant’s chest. He stirred a little, but didn’t open his eyes. Then the puppy started whining, wanting attention from the sleeping boy. It crawled over to the young man’s face and started licking it. Tail wagging excitedly.

That’s when Grant started to wake up.

“F-Five more minutes..” He mumbled. Still not quite awake yet, but he did manage to open one eye a bit. Grant closed it, trying to get some more sleep. The puppy whined at him again. Thankfully the whining, along with the licking snapped him awake.

“W-Whoa! W-What’s h-happening?!” The young man bolted up. Accidentally making the little puppy slide down the blanket and into his lap. It looked up at him with his sweet little eyes and let out another impatient whine. Wanting to play with him. Grant’s eyes grew wide in shock. “I-Is that a puppy?”

“It sure is. I found him earlier. Poor little guy was all alone. Thought I’d take him back here with me, and give you a little surprise.” Seeing the look on his friend’s face made him feel wonderful. There was light in those usually sad eyes of his. Something he hadn’t seen since before the apocalypse started.

“He’s so cute! C-Can we keep it?” Grant held the puppy close and started petting its head. Clearly not wanting it to leave.

“Sure kiddo, but you have to be responsible for it, and that means we need to be very careful when moving to other Safehouses.” Shawn states. Yes switching Safehouses could be a bit of a problem. While zombies seem to ignore animals, there was still the chance that the little puppy might start barking and attract them with the noise. Where there’s noise. There’s undead.

“I-I will! I’ll take care of it! I-I promise!” Grant said. Looking happy and excited to look after the little dog. Although he seemed to pause for a moment, looking deep in thought. “W-What should we name him?”

“Name? Huh.. I actually didn’t think of that. Hmm. I’m sure we’ll think of something good. Hopefully not “Fido.” Too common.” Shawn joked. Stopping to pet the tiny dog’s head. His friend petting it as well. Causing the puppy to roll over for a belly rub.

The apocalypse was hard. Very hard.. but at least the two friends had something that made things a little better. Something that would give them hope, and a precious little friend to keep them both company.

Hey! Sorry if the story isn’t very good! Today was a bit of a long day and I’m very tired. I still had a lot of fun writing this though! But again, I’m sorry if it wasn’t good! I’ll try harder with the next ones, I promise! 😅
