JP Book 7 Spoiler Warning!
Tumblr media
You know, I've been deeply curious about what Ruggie's dream is going to be, and I think I have an idea.
Buckle up, I'm back at it again with my giant text posts:
Ah, Ruggie! A fan favorite! At least, I hope he is. I love this little dude! Who doesn't love our hyena kleptomaniac that's worked hundreds of jobs?
So ever since Part 2 of Book 7, I've been dying to see everyone's dreams. Therefore, I SCREAMED when Book 7 actually ended up taking that route! Of course, I've been speculating for months as to what their dreams could be! I mean, it's really, like REALLY, hard to predict where the TWST story goes, they always throw you a curveball and keep you super engaged. I don't think I've ever correctly guessed something for TWST. But I'm not gonna let that stop me from guessing Ruggie's dream!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From what I can tell, Ruggie is the type of person who wants to work for what he gets. He's definitely a fan of free things, absolutely no way this dude would turn down free food! But my guy is not a fan of those high and rich in society acting above everyone and walking all over the lower class. He knows you should get in with the rich, but 90% of those people aren't going to give him the time of day. He definitely knows that. The only rich people out here giving him the time of day are Leona and Kalim, which makes them pretty interesting cases and this is entirely due to their childhoods. Anyway, in Wish Upon a Star, Ruggie's wish is for a high-paying job. Not for straight cash, not for everything he could ever want, a job. Doesn't even humor the idea of just wishing for what money could buy. So I don't think Ruggie's dream is going to be him sitting on a giant mountain of gold and lounging around. On a surface level, someone could think that would be his dream, but that doesn't sound like Ruggie. Ruggie "Eat the Rich" Bucchi would NEVER. I mean, it'd be hilarious and iconic, but the story doesn't use Ruggie's character in that way. He can get intense stuff. Besides, TWST is anything but surface level. Therefore, I think his dream is going to pull from character traits from all the way back in Book 2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's interesting that Ruggie doesn't think he stands a chance at getting a high paying job. Like, my guy probably had the thickest resume known to man, and he doesn't think he's gonna get one of these jobs because of how competitive they are. He calls out the interview and testing process, is it too far fetched to assume his background may be of concern to him as a hurdle? If I may pull from Savanaclaw Novel my beloved, hyena's are heavily discriminated against in Twisted Wonderland (Lion King plot points go brrrrrrrr). Ruggie's a hyena from the slums, a place where no mages are expected to be and no one is expected to make anything of themself. He's a pride of the town, he's got his whole neighborhood rooting for him! This makes him ambitious. And this gives him his motive for success.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ruggie wants a better life than the one dealt to him. But the thing is, Ruggie doesn't JUST want to be able to live a comfortable life. He wants to make a name for himself. That's why he believed so much in Leona's plan. He wants to flip the world on its head, he wants to prove himself, he wants to be seen, he wants to show the world a hyena can rise above. He's a mage, he's going to NRC, he's a star player on the Spelldrive team at school. He's already breaking barriers for himself, but that's only at school. Life is so much crueler to him out there. He's ready to fight against the world that wants to push him back down. He had goals in life, but some he speaks louder than others.
So what do I think Ruggie's dream is going to be?
He gets recruited by professional Spelldrive team.
Tumblr media
This is his most far fetched dream in his eyes. That dream he's almost afraid to utter out loud with full sincerity. When he brings it up in the line I started with, he just backtracks like he was crazy to even consider it. Back in Book 2, the only time he felt like he could say it was when he believed so much in Leona's plan that he actually considered it possible. That's why it hurt him so much when Leona crushed that hope right in front of his eyes.
Spelldrive is clearly special to Ruggie. He uses every part of him in Spelldrive: his size, his magic, his trickery. He's made a name for himself on his team at school, even making it on TV broadcasts and being known by incoming freshmen. This is something he's good at and perfect captures multiple aspects of who he is. But what's the big thing with Spelldrive? It's a famous sports thousands of people tune into. What better way to make a name for yourself than as a famous athlete. A famous athlete with a background that said he'd never make it there. A little hyena that proved everyone that said he'd be nothing wrong. THAT'S what Ruggie wants. Spelldrive is the perfect way for Ruggie to go "Here I am! This is me! And you're all going to see me as I rise above." And that would make his wake up call extra cruel.
I only really have like, one thing that makes me think this may not be the case: The origin of that image I put at the beginning of this post.
I'm under the impression Ruggie is getting a Book 7 Card. Jack has the least in the dorm (one? ONE?!), so it should be him, but I think it'd be kind of weird to give the not Ortho/Sebek freshmen cards considering Epel didn't get one. If they want to give Jack a card, heck yeah free that boy from R jail! But let's assume for a moment it's Ruggie. If in Ruggie's dream he's a professional Spelldrive player, uh, Ruggie already has a Spelldrive card. It'd be really redundant unless either that card is just that swanky or he's not in uniform. But if they do this, how could they not give us any visuals?
It's just- I really feel like this should be it!
Ok, watch me eat my words when the Savanaclaw Chapter comes out-

Crossover time!!
Genshin darling in Twisted wonderland
darling (w/*insert vision element here*) was running away from yandere harem (best trope-*shot*) and ended up falling into spiral abyss gate (like childe-*shot*) and turned up in Twisted wonderland, where they gained ANOTHER yandere harem lmao
Poor darling can’t catch a break. :(
But that opens up so many possibilities! Not only are they curious about the world you came from and what sort of magical properties it contains (that thing you called a Vision really is interesting…), but most are going to want you to stay in Twisted Wonderland with them forever. You don’t need your old world and that group of obsessive fanatics who chased you like a pack of wild wolves! You need them, and they will most certainly protect you.
Tea parties at Heartslabyul are a welcome escape from the stress of managing this situation, where Riddle presents you with a feast of delicious sweets and high-quality teas—all catered to your tastes, of course. How he knows about such tastes is beyond you. Trey insists that you take this neatly packaged bag of sweets he baked because he made too many and would like to share the joys of good food with you. There’s nothing more to it than that, right? Cater takes far too many pictures of you. He claims he’s immortalizing you on his Magicam, but the truth is that he just likes to look at every picture before sleeping so that his dreams may be filled with you and only you. Ace and Deuce, as charmingly silly as they may be, constantly bicker over your attention and are always trying to surpass the other when it comes to receiving compliments from you.
Savanaclaw is fun to explore when you’re looking to spend time with Jack. Whether it’s training alongside him or accompanying him while he trains, he provides you with loyal, stable companionship. He always seems so much happier to see you, but he’ll hide any sign behind his stoic behavior. Although his tail doesn’t lie… Leona usually lazes around in the botanical gardens. You can understand why he likes it so much. Though it may be humid, it’s comforting to see and smell so many vivid flowers and plants. He’ll make you his napping buddy if you’ll stay still and quiet, but the underlying truth is that he just wants to cement what’s his and keep you for himself for a few more coveted hours. Ruggie sees you a lot whenever you’re with Leona and when you aren’t at his side he’s following you as you walk across campus, watching you as you chat with some of your newfound friends. He’s waiting for a moment to get you alone so that he may properly greet you, but he’s pleasantly surprised (and suspicious) when you give him an entire prepackaged sandwich. Oh, he just fell for you even more…
Octavinelle is whimsical and charming if you’re particularly fond of the sea. Azul claims he wishes to be the shoulder you can cry on when you’re homesick and he wants to do everything he can to make your stay at NRC comfortable and worthwhile. Just sign this contract and all your worries will vanish along with your freedoms! :) If you accept any favors from him, be ready to hear the steep price when Azul comes to collect payment. And he will always take what’s owed. Jade seems upstanding and kind; he’d never hurt a soul—unless they’ve breached contract, that is. He may seem tame compared to some of the others you’ve met, but he has his own secret agenda and when he works alongside his brother they’re an unstoppable force.
Like Jade, Floyd is also charmed by you and he’ll approach you whenever he pleases. He’s broken into Ramshackle more than once now, and even though Jade lightly admonishes him for his actions it feels more like Jade wants to tell him “bring me along next time.” All in all, the boys in Octavinelle are not to be trusted or taken lightly.
Scarabia may be hot, but it is oh so welcoming! Kalim ensures your time spent with him is fun and exciting. He’ll take you on magic carpet rides when the moon is high in the sky, he’ll invite you to every feast and gathering, and he’ll slowly but surely monopolize your time until you’re spending the majority of it with him. He’s happy to share you with Jamil! Speaking of the Vice Dorm Leader, he’s cordial enough when you’re around. He never oversteps any boundaries and seems to stay in his own lane, but beneath that average façade is someone scheming to be the number one in your life. You’ll let him if no one’s around to claim that spot, right? You’d better. Until then, he’ll make himself comfortable in the shadows while he watches you and Kalim feed one another delicious foods—foods that he carefully prepared.
Pomefiore is elegant and serene. With beautiful architecture and an equally beautiful Housewarden, it can be easy to get caught up in the grand opulence. Vil casts an intimidating shadow and you can understand why some find him overbearing when it comes to beauty and health. He’s just trying to bring out everyone’s best self. Is that so bad? He once called you a ‘fixer-upper,’ so you’re not entirely sure if that applies to your appearance, your fashion, or your overall being. Vil just wants you to see the hidden beauty you possess! After all, the fairest of them all must have a lover who is just as attractive, both inside and out. Rook does not hold back with his kind sentiments, so much so that you’ve begun to wonder if he’s run empty on compliments and is simply making them up now. But you’ll admit they make you feel better, if not slightly unnerved. The fact that he pays attention to every part of your body is unsettling, even more so when you catch him stalking you. But that’s just typical Rook, yes?
At least you can lean on Epel when Rook and Vil become too suffocating. You’re one of the few people who accepted him as who he is and you never once mistook him for a girl or called him cute or pretty. You’re different and he likes that, so much that he’s very proud when you come to him in an effort to escape Rook and Vil. Epel will want to do everything he can to impress you. After all, there are so many competitors in this school. He can’t get stuck in their shadows, so he’ll cement his manly legacy somehow! Just wait; you’ll be impressed soon!
Ignihyde has the perfect energy for late-night gaming sessions, binge-watching shows and movies until the crack of dawn, and relaxing in the comforts of modern technology. Idia wouldn’t have befriended you if it weren’t for Ortho’s insistence, and he’s grateful his brother helped tug him in the direction of friendship. You’re really the only irl friend he needs and, if he knows anything from romance games, he hopes he can reach the best possible ending. Preferably, the romance option where the protagonist and his love interest fall into a flowery love. But such a love can’t be possible here, not when there are so many people vying for your attention. If their affection meters keep going up, how can he possibly compete?! He’ll be stuck in the dreaded friend zone before he can even raise your own affection bar. This is too much… Please just stay with him in his room forever. That’s the best solution to all of this.
Diasomnia is dark and littered with thorns, but those who reside there aren’t as thorny as one might think. You’ve become one of Malleus’s only friends and he cares deeply for his precious child of man. He’s not sure he’ll be able to let you go if you’re given the opportunity to return to your world. He’s too enchanted by you, and he wants to cherish this soft feeling forever. He’ll visit you at Ramshackle and enjoys it when you accompany him on late-night walks around the dorm. You’re his favorite human. Were you perhaps made for him? Is this what people call fate? Perhaps the two of you were destined to meet all along, and maybe your futures are more intertwined than you think.
Lilia has also found himself charmed by you. Everything about you is sweet and adorable! He can’t help but dote on you whenever he sees you with Malleus or the other boys. Your origins are curious, as he’s never heard of this land called Teyvat and he has no idea what a Vision is. But he’s interested in you and the place you’ve come from. Perhaps the two of you can exchange stories. If you’re willing to listen to his tales of old, he’d love to share a few fun anecdotes. And in return you can share some stories about this curious world you hail from!
Sebek won’t fall for your human charm! He’s not in love with a lowly human. It doesn’t matter if you’re a powerful mage in your home world. It doesn’t matter that you smiled at him and now his heart is doing a one-eighty. None of these things matter! And yet… Hm. You’re strange. What sort of spell have you cast on him? Rather than a spell, you must have cursed him. There’s no other way to explain his frantic heart rate when he’s around you and you smile that wonderful smile. Well, that’s simply inexcusable. To be cursed by a human—surely Lord Malleus will be disappointed! He can’t let that happen, so you’d better remove this curse right away or else!
Silver likes being around you. He’s so comfortable in your presence that he’s even fallen asleep on your shoulder once, to which he later apologized. He was very pleased when you told him it wasn’t a big deal and that you were happy to provide your shoulder as a pillow. That just strikes his heart. You’re too kind. Even when you’re stuck in an unfamiliar world, you’re doing what you can to find some semblance of normality and happiness. He hopes that he can provide you with some joy by being there for you whenever you need him. Sometimes just being your pillow is enough for him, and you always look so peaceful when sleeping. Silver wants to protect that tranquility so that you’ll never have to experience any sadness or discomfort while you’re here. Although maybe your stay will be permanent. He likes you too much to let you slip through his fingers.
Overall, they’re infatuated with you and the more time you spend with each of them the deeper they fall into obsession. If a time comes when you can return to Teyvat, they’ll be unwilling to let you go so easily. But maybe it’s not so bad here. At the very least, you’ve escaped the ones who were obsessed with you in Teyvat. But now you’re stuck with the same problem… Which is better? Who is more tolerable? Truthfully, you’re not sure.

So, what do you think Bruno from Encanto's Twisted Wonderland counterpart would be like? What dorm would he be in and what kind of magic does he have?
After seeing the Encanto film (which is pretty good and I liked it a lot), I gave in and created my version of Bruno’s Twist in Twisted Wonderland:
Julio Eckels
(I forgot the reference for his surname, but I will look it up again to see. As for the first name, I wanted something to rhyme with Bruno and Spanish)
Julio is a 3rd Year Diasomnia Student who is in the same class as Malleus (3D). I am not sure of whether he should be from Pyroxene or the Valley of Thorns. He is bilingual in Spanish which Yuu is happy about (my Yuu is Puerto Rican/Japanese).
I’m still trying to develop Julio so that there would some differences between him and Bruno, but he’s going to be like Bruno in that he’s the quiet, awkward boy no one understands, yet there are rumors about him. As for the main story of “Legends Over The Horizon” would go, Julio is officially introduced when the Writing Tutor/Literature Professor/Librarian Professor Papillion encourages Yuu to create a Creative Writing club for NRC as an inspiration for upcoming mages to learn beyond their studies, but mainly because some of their writing skills/papers suck. Papillion introduces Julio to Yuu as the other member.
I’m still debating on whether or not Julio has been sneaking into Ramshackle and going through its walls, but he definitely knows some secret pathways. He’s going to be like the comic-relief sidekick/psychic mentor who advises Yuu to be careful about the school and the world they found themselves in. Julio also may or may not know what had happened to Felix.
Julio’s Unique Magic is called Eco Futura or “Future’s Echo”. It’s inspired by the lyric: “when he calls your name, it all fades to black”. Julio can call out a person’s name and either he alone or the person he calls is mentally thrown into this realm where there are echoes of possible futures and the major/loudest one is shown as the future vision. The Magic is specific in that it can only be for one person at a time and most of the time, it comes naturally and unintentional. He could be calling Ruggie from across the hall and depending if Ruggie heard him, Julio and Ruggie could both have the future vision. It does not happen every time, so Julio would sometimes call people nicknames so that he wouldn’t activate his magic by accident.
If Julio were in the game, I think the special events where he would have a major role in would be:
Wish Upon A Star - Because wishes and future. Most likely in a Geppetto-role in that he performs with marionettes.
Scary Monsters - In the first Halloween event, he would initially wear the Diasomnia costume theme, but when everyone plans to scare the Magicam Monsters, Julio embraces the “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” persona: the 7 foot frame, feast on your dreams, that sort of thing.
Lyreless Brawl - He’s a Farmer and he just wants to survive. Would find himself in Vil’s group and get roped in. Understandably is wary of Floyd.
And that’s what I have so far.

Could you do something where its leonax ruggie and they are hanging out at leonas palace
Admittedly, Ruggie and Leona are characters I typically would not write for, so this was a challenging yet fun imagine to write!
It gets a little angsty, but I hope you enjoy it anyway~
Imagine this...
Tumblr media
Ruggie let out a low whistle at the sprawling mess before him.
“Fancy place you got here, Leona-san.”
“Hmph.”
“Shishishi, and just as messy as your place at school,” Ruggie added. “I figured you’d at least have maids clean up for ya at home, but I guess you really can’t get on by without me, huh?”
“If you know what’s good for you, you’ll shut it,” Leona growled, collapsing onto his bed and into a sea of colorful cushions. Cheka had ran him ragged the whole day with demands to play--he was dead tired.
“Roger that, shutting up now.” Ruggie snickered.
“Good.” Leona slung an arm over his eyes in an attempt to drown out the dying sunlight pouring in from an open window.  “Look, you don’t have to stay if you don’t like it.”
Ruggie hid a smile behind his hand. Trust Leona to use such a roundabout way to try and communicate to him “make yourself at home”.
“Well then, thanks for havin’ me,” Ruggie retorted playfully. He sunk into a cushion next to Leona. “You didn’t have to invite me, y’know. Especially with the holidays right around the corner. It’s gotta be really stressful.”
Even here, tucked away in a corner in Leona’s room, Ruggie could make out the distinct clamor and clatter of servants preparing ingredients for the upcoming feast and hanging up decorations. He could have never dreamed of affording such luxuries.
“Don’t tell me what to do,” Leona replied lazily. He sounded half asleep already, but there was a clear twinge of annoyance in his voice. “I invited you here, so you have the right to stay and do whatever you want.”
It was amazing how nonchalantly he could say it--especially when they both knew the servants had been gossiping about them.
“The second prince has done it again,” they had said, shaking their heads in disapproval.
“I can’t believe he brought home a hyena.”
“If only he were more like his brother...”
Then again, Leona was no ordinary prince--at least, not to Ruggie.
“Yeah, yeah. So, is this what you usually do when you’re at home? Nap until dawn?” Or whenever Cheka tackles you next. (Ruggie tactfully chose to leave that comment out.) “That’s not really all that different from when we’re at school.”
“You have a problem with it?”
“Nah.”
“I thought so.” Leona turned onto his side. “They’ll call us when the food’s ready. Ignore any bullshit they spew and just eat. You can take the leftovers.”
A pause.
“I’m going to sleep until then, so don’t bother me.”
“Uh-huh.”
They went quiet. In the silence of that room, Ruggie became acutely aware of how small he was in such a hulking palace--he was like the smallest of stars amid a vast, ever-expanding cosmos. It was a world so much unlike his own, and yet here he was.
All because of Leona.
He craned his head, and, hanging upside down from the bed, stared up at the darkening night sky. The stars were just beginning to show themselves.
A moment passed, then two.
“Hey, Leona-san?”
“What is it?” the young prince groaned. “I thought I told you to not interrupt my nap.”
“...Thanks.”
“What are you thanking me for?” Leona’s eyes narrowed into emerald slits.
“I was just thinkin’ that I’m really lucky to have you.” Ruggie grinned sheepishly.
“Hmph. You sound like my old man. A sentimental fool, that one.” Leona shifted, propping up his head on two hands. “He once said that all the spirits of all the great kings live on in the sky.”
“Maybe he’s right, Leona-san. Maybe you’ll be one of those greats.”
The prince snorted. “Yeah, that’ll be the day.”
“And what that day comes, I’ll be right there with you. Shishishi!”
