"could you drink any louder?" he asked you in a sarcastic, low voice–as if he were a parent about to chide their child for their poor table manners. you looked at miguel with your wide, bright eyes and tilted your head to the side. "i could." you replied, slurping the drink even louder, much to miguel's dismay. he sighed to himself and shut his eyes, rubbing his temples with his hand on his face as his eyebrows came together in a furrow. you were always this cheeky and childish, though the problem was, you both were in your early 30's, and you were a well-known and highly-respected detective in all of nueva york–yet you couldn't even restrain yourself from preventing making a ruckus from how loud you were drinking your sugary concoction. "please." miguel muttered as you chuckled in response.

"please what, miggy? you don't just leave me hanging–i might be a detective, but i can't work with insufficient evidence. do you perhpas want me to drink louder? well, watch this." you quipped as miguel pushed his sunglasses back up on his face and leaned closer towards you slurping even louder as you drank away. "listen, you are a genius detective, alright–" "oh, tell me something i don't know, mig." you said with a giggle as you slurped your frappe again, much to miguel's dismay. he took in a deep breath and let out a long sigh. "you may be a genius, however... you're careless, childish to a fault." he muttered with a sigh as he covered his mouth with his hand, his eyebrows slightly furrowed as he narrowed his gaze at you still slurping at your frappe, gazing back at him with your widened gaze.

"what? it's true, you haven't got as much responsibility and seriousness compared to the cases you've solved." miguel chided you as you groaned. "but, miggy... i get out of those cases scot-free! so what if i'm not as serious or boring as you, at least i've got a brain that can think and a soul that loves fun!" you whined as you lifted you head up and looked at miguel with a pleading face. miguel shook his head as he brought his mug up to his lips, taking in the bitter taste of his black coffee. "i still don't think you should be the one to take on the case, it's too risky." you furrowed your eyebrows as you heard him say that, folding your arms over your chest again. "and how so? i've solved kidnapping and thievery cases that the police were so sure that were going to end up as cold cases—i'm the detective you need, mig." you told him as you unfolded your legs and arms and leaned closer to him, piercing his gaze with your own intense, determined ones as you clasped your hands around his own once you grasped his hand.

"no. besides, this is an internal issue within alchemax, you shouldn't even be informed of what's going on, but because of... you know, the fact that you know how to pry—" "investigate." you corrected him with a look of disappointment in your eyes. miguel nodded and sighed. "...because of the fact you know how to investigate properly, you managed to figure out a whole shipment of rapture was stolen from us in a single night without me having to tell you. and i hope that you figure out that i will be hiring a different private investigator to deal with this for us." "what, why?! i'm only like, your best childhood friend for the past thirty years, i'm literally the only friend you have!" you exclaimed, hurt that miguel didn't trust you to investigate the stolen goods situation for alchemax. "you are not my only friend." "oh, really, then who else've you got?" you asked him with a raised eyebrow.

miguel opened his mouth to speak, but you cut him off. "and don't say it's lyla, because you know for a fact you don't program friends." you quipped as lyla appeared from out of miguel's watch and folded her arms up at you with a little glare. "ugh, rude." she said to you as she stuck her tongue out at you, with miguel closing his mouth and shutting his eyes. "this is getting way off-topic, lemme just cut to the chase—i don't want you anywhere near alchemax until this whole situation blows over. i've... made a few enemies since we last spoke—" "gotta hand it to your wonderful people skills, i really do." you said as you slurped away at your frappe again as miguel's eyebrows crinkled together again. "anyway, there are dangerous people in neuva york right now, they could be in this very coffee shop we're at right now. the last thing i want is for you to be jeopardized... so please, keep a low profile, keep your head down, and stay far away from me." miguel warned you with a stern voice as you stared at him with an unfazed gaze, as if you've been warned by miguel time and time again never to do something, but of course... you'd always end up doing it, just because.

you set your frappe down again and sighed. "you're forgetting that i, hah, actually caught a cat burglar the other night. did i tell you about it?" "um, no?" miguel answered you with a raised eyebrow. you smirked at him and shook your head with that smirk on your face. "tsk, tsk, oh, miggy... i think i found your guy." you said as you pulled out your phone and showed him the selfie you had with the crook you captured. you were smiling and showing a peace sign in the photo while the crook was beaten up and bruised, you giggled as you showed miguel the photo as he stared at it with widened eyes. "you beat this guy up?" he asked you as he zoomed into the screen and you nodded. "you shouldn't be proud you resorted to violence, is this guy even actually—" "the thief? well... why don't you check with lyla right now on the status of your rapture shipments?" you asked him as you slurped again on your frappe as miguel inquired lyla on that very statement.

"oh, would ya look at that." lyla said aloud as she got an email from several of miguel's subordinates that the ravage shipments were returned safely at alchemax, untampered and alright. miguel looked at the emails and back at you in astonishment, or as much as he was going to allow. he cleared his throat and adjusted the sunglasses on his face, bringing the mug of black coffee back to his lips. you smiled devilishly at him and leaned your head into your palm, balancing it while you looked at miguel all cheekily. "you know that's got nothing left in it, right?" you asked him as miguel had only then realized he ran out of coffee.

he cleared his throat and nodded. "i... okay. but you could've told me that you, y'know..." he stammered, feeling ashamed of himself for not trusting you and having faith in your capabilities that made you the person you are today—he was just so concerned about you, worried about what might happen to you if he wasn't there to protect you, but you already deciphered that from how he presented himself and how he spoke around you, it warmed your heart but also annoyed you. you leaned back in your chair and smiled, proud of yourself at finally making miguel eat his words for the umpteenth time. "a 'thank you' would be nice, mig. c'mon, you can say it, i know you wanna." you teased him as miguel sighed and folded his arms over his chest. "...thank you." he whispered under his breath as you leaned closer to him, placing a hand to your ear to hear him better as your smile broadened. "can't hear ya, miggy, again please?" you asked him with a slight giggle as miguel grumbled.

"i said..." he began as he leaned over closer to you, his breath hot against your ear, his lips brushing over your earlobe as he whispered, "thank you, you damned brat." you felt yourself get a little hot in the cheeks after you heard him whisper in that low, raspy voice of his that kind of made you feel a lot more than just cocky. you may have gotten a bit flustered by him, but you still have all the bragging rights in the world that you defied his assumptions and solved his problem for him before he could even ask anybody else for help. "am i your favorite detective now, then, miggy?" "you're my sole headache, you're far from my favorite." he responded flatly as you pouted up at him. "well you're my sole accident prone dorito, there." you quipped as miguel looked at you quizzically. "dorito?" you chuckled. "lyla would get it." you said as lyla appeared and gave you a thumbs up. "you run your mouth a lot, but you're right on one thing at least." the AI assistant said as you smiled wider, with miguel looking ever more confused.

"don't worry, miggy... i'm your problem solver. just make sure to tell me i'm the best, and i'll keep helping you." you said playfully as miguel sighed yet again. "...you are highly unprofessional and brash, but you've got a good brain in that pretty little kid-like, airhead of yours." he said as he got up and put his coat back on, getting ready to head to his office. your face beamed even brighter at miguel's praise. you got up and followed him, you wrapped your arms around his broad shoulders and clung your legs around his waist, with miguel instinctively holding you up by holding on to your inner thighs. he grumbled under his breath, telling you this was embarrassing for the two of you.

"it's been so long since you held me! you owe me big time, miggy. now, to the ice cream shop!" you exclaimed as miguel walked out of the coffee shop with you clinging on to his chest, looking stoic and composed as he told you calmly, "you're way too spoiled." "and you love spoiling me with your seven-figure paycheck." you replied with a giggle as miguel's face got all sheepish and frustrated that, once again, you were right.

i just finished reading osamu dazai and the dark era and now my eyes are stinging with the feeling of tears attempting to crawl their way out from behind them, and they may just succeed in that endeavor so let’s see how much i can type out with tears in my eyes

i miss my wife (oda bsd)

Somebody probably should've tied him up, pried his chest open, and stuffed a vacuum cleaner inside. Then, as he screamed and cried until they needed to punch him to shut him up, they'd suck every last bit out of his chest and stamp it into the ground.

But in reality, such a vacuum didn't exist. Chests don't open up like that, and no one is capable of such feats. What we see is every-thing, and everything we see, we ignore. All we can do is stand before the deep ditch between us and others and keep silent.

the way oda talks about dazai is consistently heart wrenching, he knows that despite all of dazai’s maturity, because he was forced to grow so fast, he’s still a child

just a child protecting his fragile little heart the way an adult would, simply replicating what he’d seen others do and what he’d been taught and expanding upon it

That was when Dazai first realized: Sakunosuke Oda understood him much more than he'd ever imagined-right up to his very heart, almost to the center of his mind. Dazai didn't realize until then that someone had known him so well.

dazai thought so highly of oda because oda was always rather up front about everything, his feelings, what he was thinking, all of that. not once did oda try to use dazai, we find dazai sort of realizing this in the day i picked up dazai (which i read online not too long ago), and that’s what makes dazai like oda so much

The cigarette fell to the ground.

Dropping onto his knees by Odasaku's side, Dazai looked up to the ceiling and closed his eyes. His tightly shut lips faintly trembled. The smoke from the cigarette rose straight up to the top.

this is like one of the first, if not the only time, we get a glimpse into what dazai is thinking and it’s honestly so important that we did it this moment

the anime doesn’t convey it as well just how emotionally driven dazai is in this moment, like, yes you can tell, but his struggle between what he knew was logically correct and what he felt is so important to know about

it also makes this part that he said to ango really ironic

"I always lose the things I don't want to lose the most. That's why I don't feel anything anymore. The moment you get your hands on something worth going after, you lose it."

"When I first saw him over in the slums, I was horrified. His talents are extraordinary, and his skill is extremely destructive. Plus, he's stubborn. If I'd left him to his own devices, he would've ended up a slave to his own powers until he destroyed himself."

Dazai didn't freely make people work under him, period; much less a boy on the verge of starvation in the slums. But Dazai seemed to have his own reasons for doing it.

the way dazai talks about akutagawa here is so interesting and you really gotta take it at face value because he has no reason to lie to oda, especially not about this

1: Feitan

I love Feitan honestly bc he’s cool, hot, strong and just generally awesome. I love his personality and how fearless he is. He’s number one even though they’re were many before him because I’m crazy about him and he’s just generally my all time fav. He isn’t a “phase” I love him all the time think about him all the time..FOR YEARS.

2: Aizawa

I found out about him way before Feitan and was the original number one..BUT I don’t love him any less. He’s honestly just so cool and I thought he was as soon as I saw him. He has such a calm yet self assured and strong demeanor to him. I admire him in a sense, he has morals and sticks to them. He’s also once again, strong. He cares for his loved ones and manages to be cool and a green flag- not something all anime guys can do.

3: Izuku

Izuku is under Aizawa bc I literally started loving him directly after lol. I love him with all my heart. He’s just so determined and realistic/relatable in a sense. He strives for his goals and doesn’t give up. It’s admirable. He has such a kind heart and is a green flag. Tsu should honestly be up here bc she’s the first ever anime character I found out a about but I love izuku more- osusndkjnsjd-

4: Luffy

If I knew him for longer he would be higher. I got into one piece just recently but I still love him very much. He’s such a cool and silly guy he does no harm and is selfishly selfless. What an odd balance of getting what you want and bringing happiness. Essentially what he wants is for people (specifically his loved ones) to be happy and will stop at nothing to bring that to them. Truly only has good intent. Also who doesn’t like freedom and liberation?? This guy literally stands for that!! He stand for those who don’t have a voice and that’s so cool to me! I’m so proud of him in that sense. I also love his silly goofy vibe despite the worlds cruel ways. It’s refreshing and makes one piece a less depressing place since in a sense we’re pretty much seeing one piece from his prospective. If we saw things how zoro or law sees it, it may be a lot more realistic, a bit more drab and plain in sight. That’s my take on it anyway.

5: Katsuki

katsuki’s character development is top tier. (Spoiler) I’m not talking about him dying. I’m talking about how he went from telling Izuku to ky$ and mistreating him and others to viewing people as equals/something more than competition, apologizing and atoning for his mistakes. He did something even most grown men/women can’t do these days..smh. He even did it better than endeavor. 😂 I also like how strong he is and how much he believes in himself. It’s only a problem because of the way he expresses that but if he was simply confident I feel he’d have less haters.

6: Fyodor

honestly he just freakin cool dude! Like he’s a genius, he’s attractive and he’s got a cool/mysterious power. I like when anime characters are a different race in Japan, it just makes things more fun. I love him for his imperfections too. I saw someone talk about how (spoiler) Fyodor wouldn’t have died if he just trusted his friends/allies more. I like that about him too. It makes space for character development and realization if he lives.

7: Atsushi

I first started watch bsd a long time ago. I remember loving the first ep so much. I really like how atsushi met dazai- lol. It was all really unique and there was no overused troupes. New, fresh, stuff you wouldn’t expect. I mean unless it’s mc hating on themselves..but I didn’t dislike atsushi for it or anything. Idk why I just didn’t, I’ve loved him since he first appeared on screen. I’ve always thought he deserved better. He’s such a kind hearted character and his mental and physical strength developed well. He doesn’t have any love interests either! It makes me happy when it’s straight plot and no canon romance in anime. Honestly I just love how sincere and genuine Atsushi is.

8: Nikolai

At first I both liked and disliked him at the same time. But then again I kinda simped for him so I did research (fandom, and when he got animated) and now i love em. I really love silly characters with inner problems that they project onto different things (emotions; for Niko). It gives they’re character deeper meaning than just being a silly guy. Yeah that’s fun but it gives you more to think about this way. I think his design is very cute and fun! At first I did expect to have a higher pitched voice but as time went on I realized two things. One: his voice actually fit him and I only didn’t like it at first because it didn’t meet my imaginary standard. Two: he’s a grown man, and while it’s possible, especially with anime logic, it’s more realistic this way and I’m glad his voice isn’t high pitched now.

9: Portgas D Ace

now I absolutely love Ace and while I he’s my number 2 in one piece, over all anime’s he ranks a little lower but he’s def still up there. Again I’m still in the impel down arc so his backstory n stuff is coming up for me, so when I say he needs more screen time I mean besides that. He’s an attractive man who worked on himself from a young age to be polite and respectful, he’s very friendly as well. I love and respect all that about him. He’s another silly guy but in a different way. Idk I honestly just like him, idk how to explain it this time. He’s just cool!!

10: Saiki k

I didn’t know whether to put brook or tokito here. I would’ve gone with tokito because I’ve been watching kny longer but I feel I like him more? Saiki k is a really interesting anime. It’s a comedy anime in a regular and relatable setting but with a spin; superpowers. This gives the anime more chances for funny moments and comedy. With saiki’s attitude of wanting to be normal as well? Perfect! Saiki is honestly still relatable even with powers and is not a simp. Which I really like about him, He probably wouldn’t be on this list if he got with someone. In fact he avoids what could be love interests and that makes it even more funny. I’m glad he doesn’t give in and give us the traditional wife, babies and sunset ending. 🤦‍♀️

I was waiting for the expressions Fukuzawa showed in the novel actually. But the anime!Fukuzawa was looking surprised all of the time! He had no anger nor looking too stressed. We just saw these emotions when he scolded Ranpo... And it was tooo much exaggerated. These are just my thoughts btw. But the drawing style of Bones and our cute Ranpo made everything ok for me! At least we have a new season with awesome drawings and new characters :')

God this thought, the novel was so funny with his thoughts! He's not what he seems.  He certainly isn't.  Inside, there is no trace of the cold air it reflects outside.  He is actually a very cute and funny character inside (｡ﾉω＼｡)

This part is when they're heading the theatre:

   Three times, Fukuzawa told Ranpo to quiet down as he whined for candy.

   Twice, Ranpo wore down Fukuzawa’s patience until he caved.

   Three times, Ranpo asked Fukuzawa why planes could fly.

   Four times, Fukuzawa convinced Ranpo to keep walking when he complained his legs were tired.

   Four times, Fukuzawa carried Ranpo on his back

He carried Ranpo on his back, i really wanted to see this (´༎ຶ ͜ʖ ༎ຶ `)♡

   But unless any novel of bsd is a movie, they cannot reflect all these details.  As sad as it is, this is the truth.  Because of this, I get very angry with myself when I complain because there is a great effort behind their work.  So it's better for all of us to watch the anime like a new anime episode without basing it on the novel.  When I watched the first episode for the second and third time, I enjoyed it more because I forgot some parts of the book.  It's much more fun to watch without basing it on the novel.

Dazai

- Dazai definitely handles being jealous the best, he is more aware and calm than the others on the list.

- That doesn't mean he stands by and does nothing though. If someone won't take the hint and get away from his s/o, he'll make sure they do.

- Sneaky at dropping VERY obvious hints to Guy bothering you, but not obvious to you.

- He'll wrap his arm around your waist and join the conversation if Guy is ever trying to talk to you alone. Dazai will also very loudly shout sweet pet names at you from across the ADA to get your attention and Guy's.

- You really don't go anywhere without Dazai in the first place, but now you really can't because he is always following you if Guy is around. He doesn't want this shady man trying anything unsavory.

- If Guy does try anything, and you tell Dazai about it, don't watch the news unless you're prepared to see your previously new co-worker gone missing.

- They won't find him.

Chuuya

- Chuuya loves you to death and also almost never leaves your side, so he notices when someone is trying to put the moves on you.

- It makes him really happy to hear when you turn Guy down, telling him that you're dating Chuuya. Chuuya adores the look on his face.

- What Chu doesn't adore is that Guy is still trying to woo you even after knowing who you are dating and you saying no.

- Chuuya will make out with you right in front of everyone, especially Guy. Holds your hand in the hallways and during meetings as well, everyone knows who you're with.

- Definitely mentions it to you in casual conversation about if Guy is still bothering you, or has tried to take you out or touch you in any way.

- Once confirming that this creep who can't take no for an answer is still trying to date his love, he'll talk to Guy in private.

- Chuuya doesn't want to make such vulgar threats in front of his sweetheart, but Guy got an hour long talking to from Chuuya.

- Guy promptly leaves the PM and you never see him around again. All thanks to Chuuya's firing and threats.

Atsushi

- Poor baby probably overthinks the hell out of this situation. He sees the way Guy looks at you and its the same adoration that Atsushi looks at you with.

- He doesn't wanna jump to conclusions but god you look so uncomfortable, he has to step in.

- Atsushi will probably come talk to you after work and snuggle up on you, making sure to reaffirm that you still love him the most and would never leave him.

- After that he is a lot more affectionate at work whether he knows it or not, he is constantly all over you.

- Kisses, hand holding, snuggles on the couch, never leaving you alone, leaning on you, having you sit in his lap. The works honestly.

- If even after all that, Guy doesn't get the point, Kyoka will eventually help Atsushi be more confrontational and get you and Atsushi to talk to Guy.

- Sushi is surprisingly intimidating when telling Guy to fuck off, and having you tell him goodbye before Atsushi gets Guy fired for misconduct.

Junichiro

- Definitely takes a little longer to notice but once he does he's completely over-protective.

- Doesn't play around when it comes to taking action, especially with Naomi rooting him on to "assert dominance".

- Guy already gave him bad vibes and now he has an excuse to pull you away from him and always have you wrapped around him.

- While he does get flustered easily, he isn't one to shy away from protecting the ones he loves from people he doesn't fancy.

- He lovesss to openly give you lovey gifts like flowers, chocolate, any kind of gift you like, in front of the whole office so Guy will see. He also always makes sure you wear his jacket or hair clips at all times!!

- He and Naomi both go and talk to Guy after seeing him try to hold your hand, and when they walk outside with him, you never see Guy enter the agency again..

Dazai is the reason why I discovered BSD. When I saw the trailer and saw Dazai’s name, I already got hook onto this series. Oh btw Atsushi is the reason why I continued this series after I finished the first season.

We have our greetings for Dazai in manga/anime/light novel/merches but for this, I wanted to say a happy birthday to the real Dazai Osamu 👏💕✨🎉 Probably new fans of bsd out there, don’t know what I’m talking about, Dazai is a real person. He is the greatest and well known author in Japan—and in my life. He has gone through a lot, suffered so many things such as depression, sexual abuse, deprived from human emotions, lived in pain, lost his path, disowned by his family, etc many more that I can’t say it that all that results him wanting to commit suicide. This guy has gone through alot and, I wanted to visit his grave, pray and give my gifts to him but I can’t.

If some are why I’m talking about him, easy, the Dazai Osamu in anime/manga and merches you all watching, reading, and have in your room, would never exist... if this author Dazai Osamu never existed.

I know we all fangirl about Dazai but I take my time off and appreciate the real life Dazai. This author deserves love. I seriously love his works. He wrote so many that I couldn’t count how many of them and my only source to read the quotes is someone in tumblr. I haven’t read “No Longer Human” yet due to reality consuming my free time but I did watch the Aoi Bungaku, and I can tell.. its depressing as hell.

I wanna express my thoughts and opinions, i can think clearly that the reason why sensei created BSD from the beginning are Poe’s words from the omake “Why do people write? It’s because, if they’re in the story, they can always meet those they want they want to see.”

Dazai is someone that you can learn with, sympathize and drown in sorrow (sorry lol). Some may feel neutral if they read his story, but if you put yourself in his shoes, live where world wars exists, hard to earn money and parents strict as hell that they control your every movements.. what will you do? I cant even imagine how Dazai lived his life—

What ability would you have in the BSD universe?

(What would it be called? What’s its purpose? How does it work?)

Oh boy, that's a good question. I'd like to think it'd be called City of Everlasting Rain (title of a book I'm working on). I'd be able to create very convincing copies of people already dead, and the copies can move but not speak. It can technically serve as an offensive ability, but it's more a psychological attack than anything else.

Restrictions: I need to know the exact face of the person I'm copying. If the person is not dead, it won't work. The copy would be lacking fine details that I have no way of knowing about (like a birthmark in a place that isn't visible). I can only do up to 3 copies at a time, and not of the same person.

If you could claim someone’s ability in BSD, whose ability would you want?

Light Snow. There's just something about a stealth oriented power that I really enjoy. The ability to disappear from everyone's eyes and also to create illusions is one I would deeply appreciate.

What group/organization would you join?

I think on a more obvious level, definitely Dazai. Given his boredom and his depression, he’s definitely a character I can relate to. The way he puts on a smile and makes himself out to be just an “unaware idiot”, for example. Even the small stuff like procrastinating or being really bad at organizing things, including his own room. This is exactly why I’m very sensitive to how people treat Dazai and his character arc tbh; we can actually see how he’s growing from the person he used to be, and slowly finding meaning in what he’s doing, which is really important to me. If he were to die at the end of BSD like some people theorize it will happen, I can assure you BSD will leave a very bad taste in my mouth, and I’d probably never pick it up again.

Hmmmmm I don’t think so...? I’m a very go with the flow person in regards to characters showing up, I’m satisfied with whatever new author Asagiri brings into the mix. Besides, my favorite author and inspiration (Edgar Allan Poe) is already in BSD so I don’t have any other wishes. Maybe only Conan Doyle when we get to know more about the English ability users.

Aw geez, uhm... Well the scene that stuck with me the most is the one where Dazai eggs on the Mimic soldier, urging him to shoot Dazai. That scene had a lot of impact on me, and it still does (so it’s no surprise that my reply to the next question will be from that scene as well jhfdsfk)

The hospital scene with Ango and Dazai. To me, that’s the moment you can truly see the extent of the rift between them, all the strong emotions that go unsaid. It’s the scene that cements the dynamic of their relationship post-Dark Era, and I never tire of watching it and picking it apart.

This one for the reason I already said above. I have a lot of feelings and thoughts on this scene, but it’s more than I am willing to discuss here.

“Sakaguchi Ango, a intelligence officer with the Port Mafia. A mysterious intellectual, no one knew who you really were.” - Odasaku, Episode 13.

This line right here destroys me every single time, because, to me, it summarizes Ango’s relationship with the other two. They have been friends for, what, around 2 years at this point? Odasaku can say he understood Dazai (and he did, as shown by his last words to Dazai), but can the same be said about Ango? At this point, he wasn’t yet aware that Ango was a traitor, but you can feel the uncertainty in their relationship. He’s sitting there, where he friend lives: a mostly empty hotel room. In the animation, the song that plays in this moment is sorrowful, even melancholic. I don’t know if this is supported by the novel, but I take this scene as the moment when Odasaku is only now starting to face the fact that he never knew Ango at all.
