really starting to think someone put the evil eye on me.....
#all 3 of my final lab exams went horribly#today i had an oral exam & my first train was canceled & the second one was 20 minutes late#i arrived 7 minutes late but i was thankfully still on time bc there was still another student in the exam room#my teacher obviously wasn't amused but she was still nice & i got a b which i'm satisfied with#but my teacher seems convinced that i can do much better like a b isn't a good grade?? let me live 😭#i guess i was still lucky bc i was there on time after all & got a good grade but it was soooo stressful i'm glad i didn't cry#and my mom made it so much worse when i told her my train wasn't coming she got all mad at me like it was my fault???#she kept saying i finally need to grow up like girl what does that have to do with the train being canceled? 😭#she stressed me out even more & she actually could've easily driven me to my exam bc i had still had over an hour to get there#but instead she kept berating me and making me feel even worse...#and i kept telling her i'm already stressed enough can't you tell me smth uplifting but she just kept being negative & condescending#it's a little frustrating how all my exams before the finals went so good but now that it really matters everything seems to be going south#but ultimately i just want to pass everything and never set foot into this school again i can't wait for all this to be over 😪#and sometimes i really think the girls i surround myself with at school want me to fail..#like i often miss school bc of mental problems & sometimes i feel like they're mad that i still do well in school??#idk maybe i'm reading too much into it but sometimes it really feels like they're waiting for my downfall#our 'friendship' is very superficial as well & i often feel left out from the group tbh#like last friday i stayed behind a little to talk to a girl & none of them waited for me even though we all go to the train station togethe#but they always wait for the other girls of the group..#i'm not taking this too personally bc i don't see them as good or close friends & i know once school is over i won't see them again anyways#but it does hurt a little bc i'm always the odd one out who struggles to make friends no matter where i am#either way..... please please please just let me pass all of my exams & let everything fall into place in my life 🧿🧿🧿#☁️

I hate the dismisal of online lgbt spaces as not as important as in real life or what goes on within the spaces as not that bad, because for me at least, I don't have anyone I know in my area that I can talk to about being lgbt, and I'm relatively scared of selectiviely outing myself to find more people, because i really wouldnt want it to get back to my parents somehow.
My point is, online spaces are very important as a point of connection for the many of us that have no one irl, and I hate how any serious method of discussion gets turned into discourse. like people saying there is a severe amount of lesbophobia, biophobia, transmisogyny and racism in the community are not picking fights. we're trying to make this space better because for some of us its all we have! so please, do better.
#aster.txt#kind of a vent more than anything because its frustrating and i'm getting both nostalgia for the past and derision for it#there were two people i did know in my HS that are lgbt but they both moved to canada for uni#one of them is a total sweetheart and I miss talking to her so much#like they were such a wonderful person to complain about our schools stupid rules#and how shitty gender roles are and how conservative indian parents suck#and last i saw shes transfem since they made a secret priv account with she/they pronouns and them wearing a dress as the first post#i hope she found people that they could connect to where ever she is now#the other is not so positive a story lol#she is the main reason why my self esteem issues went from not that good to very bad#like her mind games and the fact that she called me clingy as an attempt to get another friend to stop being around them was shitty#i isolated myself from other people for a long time becasue i thought i would just ruin things if i got too close and showed my personality#despite her doing that i didnt actually hate her until i found out what she did to a friend of mine#my friend was having family issues because her father had tyroid cancer and her “friends” including that person forced her to tell them#and that person had the gall to say that what she was going through wasn't that bad and she should stop making stuff about herself#after they forced her to open up#god i hated high school uni isnt any better but i'm glad its not high school#so many petty people because we're all teenagers going through our own shit and we're still figuring things out#i'm half thinking of just unfollowing a lot of them on instagram becasue they sucked but no i wont do that..yet

housewife || mary earps x reader ||
Tumblr media
mary makes a comment about you not doing enough around the house, tipping you over the edge.
"mummy!" dillion cheered as mary walked into the flat. you glanced over the back of the couch to watch as your wife took in the chaotic state of things. you had spent all afternoon loading up the things that absolutely had to be shipped to france, but waited to pack up other things for mary to get home.
"good evening my little prince." mary bent down and scooped dillion into her arms. you watched her set him down again and push him towards his room, muttering for him to pick out more toys to pack up. "you know, if you're gonna be home all day, you could at least clean up a bit. i don't work myself to the bone to come back to this."
"mary, i'll give you one chance to tell me that you're joking," you told her. mary looked at you incredulously, as if she couldn't believe your audacity. you matched her look, resulting in the two of you just staring at each other for a couple of minutes.
"i don't want to fight with dillion here," mary told you. it wasn't a resolution by any means. in fact, it was your warning that this was going to sit and simmer with mary for the rest of the week.
whenever you had met mary, you had lived a very different life. you worked for a big company as a marketing advisor. the lionesses had hired you for help, and once you saw mary, it was love at first sight. the two of you hit it off immediately, and within the next year, you were married. you still worked from home sometimes on various little projects, but nothing that would have distracted you from dillion.
he was your son from a previous relationship, and for almost two years, his father had been involved. mary had been very understanding in letting you take time to yourself to figure things out. eventually, she had suggested that you stay home and focus on family. you had been skeptical for this exact reason, but you had agreed anyway. and for years, it worked until it didn't.
you could see the cracks form almost immediately. mary's frustrations with united seeped into your relationship. she was a great wife, but she had grown angry and demanding. at times, you pondered divorce, but no matter how bad it got, you never even mustered up the courage to leave.
"what's with the box?" mary asked as she watched you carry one of the boxes from the hallway closet into the bedroom. most of mary's things were packed away and set to arrive at the new place in france, but you were still sorting through your things. you'd arrive with mary, and then collect the rest of your things when you flew back to england to finish up the last couple of projects you had left.
"i'm unpacking," you told her. mary looked confused, but didn't say anything. you could still see the anger simmering beneath the surface. dillion was tucked away in his bed, fast asleep. you were glad that he could sleep through anything because you had a feeling that mary was going to blow a gasket when you told her your decision. "i don't think that i'm going to france."
mary's phone clattered to the ground. you winced at the sound and knowledge that it was definitely cracked. still, mary made no move towards it. she just stayed frozen in her spot on the bed. mary had cooled down a bit since she had gotten home, and while she wasn't at the point of an apology, she was willing to talk things out with you and try to listen.
"don't be ridiculous, it's a done deal (y/n)." mary was spiraling, and while you wanted to stop it, you knew that you couldn't just give in to her. "i've signed. we talked about this. it's a big step, but i think that we're ready. dillion is so excited."
"mary, i've been trying so hard, but i can't. things were supposed to be different when you signed to a new club, but they won't be. this rough patch, it's not getting better like i thought. maybe we should take some time apart," you told her. mary's eyebrows furrowed and she sat up on her knees to crawl to the edge of the bed. "i think i'm gonna sleep on the couch tonight."
"no, please don't," mary pleaded with you. she followed you into the living room, where you had obviously done some unpacking after putting dillion to bed. "you're serious, aren't you?"
"yes mary, i am. some days, you're exactly the woman that i fell in love with, but most of the time, i don't recognize you. you're angry, and i get that it sucks, but you can't take it out on me."
"i would never take my anger out on you, never," mary said. she tried to move towards you, but you put your hand on her chest to stop her. "(y/n), i've never laid a finger on you. i wouldn't, no matter what."
"not physically mary. i spent all day moving your things around and making sure that everything was packed up correctly. i did all of this with a hyperactive four year old who is struggling to work through his french workbooks. not to mention that i'm also trying to learn this language for you because i know that maybe if i have a head start, i can help you too. i've been doing so much for so long, but all you can ever do when you're here is lay around and complain. i'm done, i won't live like this!"
the look in mary's eyes was nothing short of regret. she crumpled down to her knees, and if it was anyone else, you would have brushed it off as a performance. because it was mary, you just watched as the guilt took over and she began sobbing. the anger turned inward, and mary donned a look that you hadn't seen in years, not since you had nearly broken up before.
"go up to bed. i'll be back," mary told you. she stood up and began to walk towards the door, pausing when she was behind you. "i love you, don't forget that. i love you, i'm sorry, and i don't know what i'd do without you and dillion in my life. if i'm out of the house when he wakes up, tell him i love him too, okay?"
"mary, where are you going?" you asked her.
"for a walk love, go up to bed," mary told you. she didn't move until you were gone, but you could hear the front door shut from the bedroom. this wasn't by any means the night you had envisioned for yourself when you woke up that morning, but you knew that your relationship needed some space. all you could do was hope that you'd see mary in the morning when you woke up.

Hurt IV
Hardersson x Child!Reader
Part of The Big Adventures Universe
Summary: Morsa gets hurt
Tumblr media
You're sitting in the stands when it happens.
Momma's still not back in the squad so you're not sitting on the bench. You enjoy sitting on the bench more than sitting in the stands but at least you get to eat hotdogs in the stands so that's a win.
You're munching away when Morsa goes down. You stop chewing to stand up properly so you can see and you will Morsa to get back up.
She doesn't.
She just kind of rolls around on the ground clutching at her foot.
"What's wrong with Morsa?" You ask as if Momma would just know.
"It's okay," Momma says though her tight smile says she doesn't quite believe herself," Morsa's being a bit dramatic. She'll get back up, you'll see."
Only Morsa doesn't get back up.
She has to be helped off and you see a stretcher being prepared.
Momma takes your hand and walks you over to the barrier.
"Sam!" She calls out to Scottish Sam," Sam!"
Sam turns, getting up from the bench. She takes you as you're lifted over the barrier.
"Look after her, okay?" Momma hands her your bag. "I'll grab her in a bit."
"Go," Sam says," I've got her."
You're still in Sam's arms as you watch Momma sprint the opposite direction, to where Morsa's being loaded up onto a stretcher. She's crying and you kind of feel like crying too.
"Magda's strong," Sam says as she takes her seat back on the bench," She'll be okay."
"Morsa's crying," You reply bluntly," Don't lie. I'm not stupid."
Sam winces a little but you pay no attention because you stand up to see if you can catch a glimpse of Momma and Morsa. The stretcher is moving away now and they're holding hands.
You're glad that Morsa has Momma to look after her until you get there.
"Hey." Sam taps your leg. "Let's sit down, huh? You could fall."
You grunt in frustration but do as she says. You've no interest in the match anymore and grow a bit restless. You keep turning your head around, hoping to see Momma and Morsa returning but they never do.
Sam rummages through your bag to find something to entertain you.
"What is this?" She asks," A fancy straw? It's kind of big."
"That's my epipen," You say and Sam immediately drops it into your bag like it's burned her," Because Australian Sam gave me bad kiwi and I almost died. Momma makes sure I always have it."
Scottish Sam laughs uncomfortably. "Well...I'll make sure not to give you kiwi then."
"Or banana or avocado because those can kill me too." You think for a moment as your stomach rolls. "Is my Morsa dying?" Your bottom lip trembles. "Is that why she's not back yet?"
"No!" Sam says quickly, shaking her head firmly," She's just talking to the medics. They're very chatty. That's why they're taking so long."
You accept that Morsa's not dying but not really that the medics are chatty. You keep looking behind you all the way up until halftime.
Sam takes you back to the changing room but you dig your heels in all the way because you don't want Momma and Morsa to go back onto the pitch and not know where you've gone.
This whole situation is very worrying and you sullenly take refuge in Morsa's cubby because it's nice and small and smells just like her.
"Lea?" You ask as the woman mooches around nearby," When are my mummies coming back?"
She winces a little. "Sorry, kid," She says," I'm not too sure. Soon, though. It'll be soon."
You sigh a big sigh and huff, reaching out for Lea's hand as she gets ready to go back out. "Is my Morsa going to be okay?"
She winces again and pats you on the head. "She'll be just fine. She'll be back on her feet very soon."
In the second half, Sam has to go on so she hands you straight over to Sarah who has the unenviable job of watching you have a complete and utter breakdown.
You've decided that it's been too long, that Momma and Morsa have been away too long for Morsa to be just fine like the girls are telling you. You curl up into a little ball in your seat and sob.
Sarah looks like she's about to cry too as she wildly looks to the other girls on the bench for help before deciding that the best thing to do would be to pick you up.
It's pretty hard on her part because you won't uncurl from your protective ball and she kind of has to pace around with a little girl whose not willing to give her even an inch of help in it.
"Hey."
You stop crying when you hear Momma speak.
She's standing by the barrier.
"I can take her now," Momma says to Sarah," I'll take her back to see Magda."
"It's fine," Sarah lies," We've got everything under control."
"I'll take her," Momma insists," Magda's been asking for her."
"Oh, thank god," Sarah breathes out before holding you out for Momma to take along with your bag.
"Is Morsa okay?" You sniffle as Momma begins to walk back to where she disappeared too.
"She will be," Momma says," She's a little sad right now and she needs some Princesse cuddles to make her feel better. And I think some Morsa cuddles will make you feel better too."
You nod.
Morsa's still sitting on the stretcher when you arrive. She's not crying anymore but you can see where the tears use to be.
Momma settles you by Morsa's side and you look down to see her bandaged foot.
"What happened?"
"I hurt my foot," Morsa says. She crowds you into her space with a hand between your shoulders, allowing you to curl up properly against her as she rests her chin on the top of your head.
"Is it really bad?"
"I have to have surgery soon," Morsa says," But it'll be very quick."
You think for a moment before nodding, making sure to hug Morsa nice and tight so she knows that you're here for her.
"It'll be okay," You say," Because me and Momma are going to look after you."

Bruce meeting his son: Damian. This is my headcanon and a comedic spin on the meet up. I just love the trope of "I have a child?!" Don't worry, Bruce loves his son, it's just a bit of a shock he wasn't rendered impotent from all his excursions as Batman.
Talia: Bruce, this is Damian. Damian, this is Bruce.
Damian holds out his hand for a handshake. Bruce obliges, but is unsure why he was being introduced to the young child.
Damian (confused): Why is he dressed like a bat?
Talia (mock sweetness): It's a thing he does.
Bruce (offended): Okay you don't have to talk about me in front of him. Why are you showing me this child?
Jason behind Bruce covers his mouth, chuckling.
Talia: He's my son.
Dick (instant realization): He's your son? That is your son? Which means... Oh wow. Wow!
Dick laughs, but stops when Bruce stares at him confused. He turns back to Talia and Damian, confused.
Damian (waving): Hello.
Bruce: Hi... And Talia?
Dick Grayson: Oh... Oh you don't get it?
Jason: He doesn't get it. Hahahaha!
Talia: Bruce, I'm going to hold your hand when I say this.
Talia takes Bruce's glove hand. Ra Al Ghul walks over holding up a camera to record the exchange.
Dick and Jason stood by waiting to see how Talia would word her reveal.
Talia: He is my son... And he is your son.
Bruce blinks not responding. He heard what she said but he was not sure what to say himself.
Damian (confused): The guy in a giant bat suit is my father?
Damian taps his chin.
Damian: Not the craziest thing I've had to deal with.
Talia: Bruce, you going to saying something?
Dick: Bruce?
Bruce (gulps): ...
Jason claps while laughing.
Jason: This is great. I am so glad I got to be here today for this.
Bruce (finally speaking): I'm sorry. I hallucinated that you just said the little boy standing in front of me is my son.
Talia (repeating herself): Bruce, he is your son.
Bruce (disbelief): No he's not.
Jason (enjoying this): There's the denial.
Talia (exasperated): Here we go again, yes he is.
Bruce (panicked): No... no he's not. I can't have kids my swimmers are broken.
Damian: Swimmers?
Talia covers Damian's ears.
Talia: They most certainly are not.
Dick: You can have kids?
Jason: I know right!
Bruce: He's not... I'm not... The kid is not my son.
Talia (uncovering Damian's ears): Yes he is! I got a DNA test done! He is your child. I have your blood from a... Not important and he is yours! The baby is yours!
Damian: I'm 9.
Dick (holding back his laughter): Oh God.
Jason walks while clapping again.
Ra Al Ghul (continuing to record the reaction): She unfortunately speaks the truth. I'm disappointed you share DNA with him, but we have the test. He's yours.
Damian: The guy dressed as a bat is my father? I'm sorry to repeat myself, but he's dressed like a bat.
Ra (Regrettably): I know. I know.
Dick: Bruce, say something other than, "No he's not." Or "He's not mine."
Bruce stands stunned and silent. His oldest son walks over to him and waves his hand across the man's face.
Dick: Oh he's actually speechless.
Talia (sighing): To be expected. Jason I'll send you a video of his reaction like we discussed.
Jason: Thank you.
Dick: You knew?!
Jason: For 9 years! Yes!
Dick: Why didn't you say anything?
Jason: I was fucking mad at him and wanted revenge and this... This is the best revenge.
Dick: I'll deal with you in a second. Bruce, are you with us?
Bruce faints, falling backwards. Damian looks down at the man in a batsuit.
Damian: I'm not sure I want him to be my father.
Ra (ending the recording): I agree with you child.
He walks off with the camera.
Ra: I'm going to burn this on to a DVD and keep a copy.
Talia (frustrated): You do that father.
Dick walks over to Damian, stepping over Bruce.
Dick: Um, Bruce is just a bit shocked he actually can have kids without adopting them. He's a good guy though.
Damian lightly kicks his father's leg, but all the man can do is twitch his leg while still unconscious.
Damian: Are you sure about that? Jason told me he was 'not bad' I'm not really seeing that.
Dick glares at Jason. Jason shrugs with a smile. Dick turns back to Damian.
Dick: Yeah, he's an amazing crime fighter and usually can compose himself. I'm Dick, by the way.
Damian: That's your legal name?
Dick (upset, but hiding it): My birth name is Richard Grayson.
Damian: Why do you go by-
Talia and Jason: Don't ask.
Dick groans annoyed then holds out his hand. Damian shakes his hand to show respect, but remains perplexed by his strange new family and that was saying a lot.

The Munson's farm was a welcome sight after nearly two days on the road. Despite your protests, Logan insisted he would drive the past 40-something hours. The shitty car Logan had bought couldn't reach above 60 miles an hour and then getting stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic had caused Logan's mood to worsen.
"We're only staying for supper." Logan declared when he pulled the keys from the ignition.
You glanced into the backseat at your companions, who looked even more tired than you were. Your gaze fell onto Charles who gave you a sly wink in return. If he could still use his powers you were sure he'd be in your head saying that Logan was full of shit.
You grumbled in frustration when the potato in your hands slipped and bounced to the floor. You had killed two men a few days ago, and now you were struggling with a potato the size of your fist.
"It's alright, I can do it. I'm sure you're tired." The woman, Kathyrn, said.
"No, let me help. You're giving us a free meal, the least I can do is help cook it." You smile, scooping the fallen vegetable off the tiled floor.
You'd never admit it to her but your lack of potato peeling skill is due to the pain in your hands. The swollen veins and unhealed cut from earlier are driving you up the wall as you peel and slice away. You can tell Kathyrn wants to ask you about them but is keeping it in.
"It's a skin condition." You lie, "It's not contagious though, don't worry you're safe."
She gives you a kind smile, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stare."
"I get it a lot, don't worry about it." You reply
She nods and then moves on to preparing ingredients for what looks like a pie.
"Your home is beautiful." You compliment, unsure what to say. It's been so long since you got to talk to another woman. You don't count the old lady who works at the motel with you, all she talks about is her bunions. Laura doesn't really count either, all you've heard was screams when she sliced those men up days ago. That and her growls when the convenience store's horse ride stopped working. Logan had saved the horse from an early death by gifting a quarter to the little girl, buying her another ride.
"Thank you." Kathryn says, "She's old but we love her."
"It's better than where we live." You say, thinking of the ugly smelting plant you were glad to finally be free of.
Kathryn eventually shoos you away from the potatoes and teaches you how to roll the pie crust out so it doesn't stick to the cutting board, and then she lets you taste the sweetest blueberry you've ever had.
Charles calls your name from his spot on the couch, pointing out Logan who was descending the stairs.
"Oh, Logan." You smile, "Did you trim your beard?"
"No."
He's lying. What an idiot.
Will had insisted Logan take a shower, Logan had resisted but the friendly farmer eventually wore him down, telling Logan he smelled was enough to get him into the bathroom.
"You look nice." Kathryn compliments
Logan gives her a small nod before crossing the room to you.
"What're you cooking?" He asks, leaning against the counter next to you.
His question goes in one ear and out the other. You're focused on the flannel and jeans he must've borrowed. They're a bit too small but you thank the gods above that Will Munson is smaller than Logan because the fabric is certainly hugging him in all the right places. You swore his jeans would split if he even tried to bend down in them. Thank god Charles had convinced Logan to stay. This was officially a glorious day in history. In fact, you're sure if they actually ripped you'd be sent right to heaven.
"She is working on a blueberry pie, my mother's recipe," Kathryn answers for you.
"Don't fuck it up." Logan teases, reaching out to gently tap your hip
His tone makes you bristle and has you breaking out of your trance and kicking at his shin. He lets out a hum of discontent but ignores whatever pain you might've caused him.
"Watch your mouth." You scold him, looking over at Laura, and particularly, Nate sitting on the floor, playing a game of checkers.
Logan scoffs at your command before stealing a blueberry from the bowl and popping it in his mouth.
"There won't be any pie if you eat all the ingredients." You groan, snatching the bowl away.
"Just give me one more," Logan asks reaching for the bowl that you keep from his reach, "I'm a growing boy."
"Go take a nap." You swat at his hand, and he hisses in pain when your hand hits his, "You're not growing, you're like a thousand years old."
"M' not tired." Logan lies, reaching again.
"You're full of shit." You reply
Kathryn lets out a warm laugh, "You two are cute. Bickering like high school sweethearts."
You feel your face warm and Logan shakes his head beside you, clearly flustered as well.
"They basically are." Charles says suddenly, "They used to be students at my school."
"Who had a school?" Will returns from his nightly rounds with his animals.
"My uh Dad was just telling your wife about his school for...special needs kids," Logan says
"They were both his students," Kathryn says
You can tell she likes the picture Charles has painted. Young love blossoming and lasting a lifetime, it was like something out of a movie.
"Logan never paid attention to me while we were there." You smile, "Too hung up a girl named Jean."
Logan glances over at you unsure of what to say or do.
"It's alright though, I've got him now." You assure, hoping you haven't overstepped by mentioning Jean.
Dinner and pie eaten, you find yourself fixing blankets on a small pullout bed the Munsons offered you and Logan. You were glad Logan had relented and agreed to stay. One night wasn't going to kill anyone.
"It's nice here." You say into the darkness, thinking of how wonderful this day had turned out.
"Yeah, it's fine," Logan grumbles, slinging an arm around your waist to pull you closer to him
"This is what life looks like, Logan." You say, hiding your face in his neck
"We'll have a life once we drop Laura in North Dakota." He says
"We really have to take her there?" You ask despite her foul attitude, the little girl was growing on you. If you closed your eyes tight enough you could even see yourself raising her with Logan by your side of course.
"She's not a stay cat. Besides, if we keep her they won't stop coming after us." Logan reasons honestly
"She's your daughter, Logan." You mumble into his skin sadly
"Never asked for a kid." He answered, his gruff voice normally calms you but tonight it upsets you.
"I know, but-"
"No buts. Go to bed." He says
"Gotta go pee." You lie, not wanting to be near him just this second. Didn't he feel anything for Laura?
Logan lets out an angry sound but lets you go, saying something about coming back quickly.
You tiptoe upstairs to the bathroom, trying not to make the steps creak too much. The bathroom door opens and you run right into Kathryn.
"I am so sorry." You say quickly
"It was my fault." She says, "I shouldn't swing the door open so quickly."
You look at her and her face is green with some clay mask that she applied.
"Nice mask."
You mean it as a joke, just a friendly jest since she reminds you of an alien right now.
"Would you like some? It's an overnight mask, it keeps the skin soft."
You back peddle, insisting she doesn't need to do that.
"Oh please, I've only been blessed with a son, as much as I love him it'd be nice to have a girl around here every once in a while."
Before you know it, you're sitting on the closed toilet seat while she paints your face with the cucumber scented stuff.
"Oh, I should've asked if this was going to hurt your skin." Kathryn suddenly pauses.
"My skin?" You ask
She glances down at your arms.
"Oh, right. It's fine. My uh skin will be fine." You affirm
"Does your daughter like doing girlie things with you? I try to take Nate shopping and all he does is whine." Kathryn says, "Always asking me when we can go home or buy some overpriced pretzels."
You're not sure if Laura would like "girlie" things. You suppose the closest you'd gotten to it with her was at the casino and then in the hotel when you detangled her hair. Not that it matters since you'd be dropping her in North Dakota and then running off to buy a stupid boat.
"Honestly, sometimes I can't tell what she's thinking. She's...not my kid." You say, according to Logan, she's not anyone's, "She let me brush her hair the other night though."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I just presumed since you and Logan seemed so close." Kathryn says, "It's nice she lets you do things like that for her."
"Logan and I aren't even married." You say, glancing down at your left hand.
It didn't matter, marriage. So many things were more important right now. You did wonder though, would he ever ask? Sure, the two of you had just finally...well you didn't even know what you were to him. A girlfriend? Partner? Lover?"
"Men, they're always wasting time aren't they?" Kathryn sighs
"Tell me about it." You respond, thinking of the past year you spent pining over Logan. Did he feel the same way the whole time? Why did he bother waiting so long?
"You're done." She declares, "Tomorrow morning you can wash it off and your skin will be softer than ever."
You glance in the mirror at your now-covered face. Honestly, you look ridiculous.
"Thank you." You sheepishly say
"No problem." Kathryn smiles
You bid Kathryn goodnight and then float back down the steps to a now-sleeping Logan. As soon as you slip under the covers, he shifts, moving to rest his head on your chest.
"Long bathroom break." He points out
"I fell in." You joke
Logan lets out a short laugh, arms squeezing your sides.
"Goodnight, sweetheart."
"Goodnight, Logan."
You wake up the next morning to Logan's booming voice scaring you.
"What. The fuck."
You look over at him, his eyes are wide and he looks utterly confused.
"What is your problem?" You groan, wanting to go back to bed
"What happened to your face?" Logan asks
"You shouldn't say that to a woman, Logan." You say, "It's a face mask relax."
"You're blue." Logan points out, distaste evident in his voice.
"Good." You grumble, where was his energy coming from? "And actually I'm green. It's cucumber scented."
"You know that alien emoji you sent me a few days ago? That's what you look like right now."
"You're an asshole."
You drag yourself upstairs, this time to go to the bathroom for real, and to wash your face off. Upon your return, you see the asshole er you mean, Logan, has propped himself up on the pillows and has his glasses on, paging through files Laura had in her bag.
"Much better." He says looking at you over the edge of his glasses
"Glad my face appeases you." You roll your eyes, trying to pretend he doesn't look otherworldly with those glasses.
"You don't need that shit. Pretty just the way you are." He says, motioning for you to join him in bed again.
You crawl over to him, resting your back against his chest. Your eyes scan the papers he holds, looking at all the nameless children Transigen has made.
"What're you looking for?" You ask
"Just, reading, bub. Wanna know more about this Transigen shit."
You nod and reach out to trace the scars that litter his left hand. Basking in the silence you let yourself relax on the soft sofa bed with Logan behind you.
"What are we, Logan?" You ask suddenly overcome with the need to know.
"What?" He asks, dropping the file that was opened to Laura's page onto his lap.
"What am I to you? I want to know what you're thinking. Is this some short-lived fling because I don't want to end up crying my eyes out over you if you were never taking it serious to begin with." You asset, sitting up and facing him
Logan sighs, taking in your determined face. He reaches out and takes your hand in his, tracing the ugly veins that mar your skin.
"You used to scare me you know." He says, pulling the glasses off his face.
"What?"
"Your feelings I mean. Back when we first got settled in Mexico and you were cooking and doing shit for me. It scared me, your feelings, my own for you. The idea of committing, it used to scare me."
"So we're some, what? Some casual thing?" You ask as a pit of despair opens in your stomach.
"What? No. Would you let me finish?" Logan asks
"Sorry."
He nods and starts again, his voice full of hesitance.
"But now I...shit I'm not good at this."
"Keep going."
You squeeze his hand in reassurance, hoping he opens his mouth again. It takes a moment but his deep voice fills your ears again.
"I want this, " He motions between the two of you, "You and me. For however long we have left in these shit bodies, I want it."
He pauses for a second scarred hands taking yours. "If you want to label it, we can. Lovers, partners, boyfriend, girlfriend. I don't care. I just..."
Logan meets your eyes and you let out a small laugh full of joy,
"I want you to be mine."
You smile and gently push the files off his lap, replacing them with yourself. Looping your arms around him so they rest on his shoulders, your hands run up the back of his head and thread through his hair. A gentle, chaste kiss is pressed to his lips. The scruff of his beard tickles as you pull away.
"I'm all yours."
"Good." He laughs, leaning in to let his nose brush yours, your eyes flutter shut as you take him all in.
Logan flips you onto your back and you let out a gasp that is entirely too loud considering the early hour. Logan presses another kiss to your lips and then to your forehead.
"Wanna show you how much you mean to me." He rasps, as he begins to pepper gentle kisses down your neck.
His hips grind into yours and you let out a quiet whimper when his fingers slip below the band of your pants.
"No panties?" Logan whispers, his voice teasing.
"It's more comfortable like this." You pout truthfully
"Easier access too."
Your face heats up in embarrassment but you don't have much time to feel ashamed as his thumb begins to circle your clit while his others push into you. Your eyes scrunch shut as your hips begin to arch up off the pull-out bed.
You let out a small gasp when he pulled his fingers out to spit down on them, easing the slight burn that had been there before. You can tell his ego is soaring with each groan and whimper that leaves your lips.
His spare hand comes up and tugs at the bottom of your shirt. You indulge him and pull it off, grinning when he lets out a deep groan. Your eyes shut again when his head dips down to gently suck at one of your breasts, tongue working wonders on the sensitive flesh.
"Open your eyes," Logan commands suddenly.
You let your eyes flutter open to meet his intense gaze.
"So pretty." He whispers, pressing his forehead to yours.
It's all so intimate as you whimper his name when your climax begins to build. your hand flies down to where his is, gripping his wrist like you want him to stop.
Logan lets out a low chuckle when you cum. He claims your lips with his own, swallowing the loud moan that threatens to wake the whole house.
"Can I suck you off?" You breathily ask when he finally lets you go
Logan looks over at you, obviously not expecting that to come out of your mouth.
"You don't have to." He says, his eyes falling to your lips.
He was definitely imagining them on his cock. What a pervert your man was.
"C'mon, I've never gone down on anyone before. Let me try with you." You smile
Logan's head snaps back up, "You mean to tell me you've been alive how long and you've never gone down on a guy...or girl?"
You shake your head and he pauses, letting his eyes rake over your still-clothed body.
"How's that even possible?"
"Dunno." You shrug and drop to your knees in front of him.
Your hands come up to his pants and gently tug, silently asking for permission. He shakes his head but lifts his hips up anyway.
Your hips wiggle in excitement when he pulls them down, letting the fabric pool at his ankles. His cock springs up and you marvel at it. It's the first time you're seeing it for real. Unless of course, you count that time you accidently walked in on him masturbating a few months ago. He couldn't look you in the eye for a week after that incident.
"Remember that time I walked in on you?" You breathily ask
Logan's face turns red at the memory. You can tell he doesn't want to be reminded.
"You shouldn't have seen that." He says, his voice full of guilt.
You grin, "I just wish you would've asked me to join you."
And then you're licking your lips and gently kissing the tip of him. You gently let your fingertips brush up him before opening your mouth and spitting.
"Keep going." He orders, his voice is desperate.
You do so happily letting your mouth open up and take him in. Gently sucking at first but slowly becoming a bit rougher as he lets out quiet noises.
"Fuck." Logan gasps from above, "You sure you haven't done this before?"
Your hands stroke what doesn't fit in your mouth and the salty taste of precum is staining your tongue. The slight ache of your jaw is becoming annoying but you ignore it, looking up at Logan whose eyes are shut tight.
"Ah, fuck me," Logan declares as a warm spurt of cum hits the back of your throat. His head lolls back and you groan and try to swallow it all down as he fills your mouth, whimpering when it begins to spill out of your lips.
Logan gently pulls his hips away from your mouth and pulls you up towards him. He looks up at you as he sits on the bed while you stand, placing your hands on his shoulders. His hand comes up to wipe at the cum that's escaped your lips.
"That wasn't your first time doing that." He rasps, his voice heavy with euphoria.
You give him a sly smile, "No, it wasn't."
The sound of creaking steps has the two of you jumping back under the covers. You haven't seen Logan move this fast in ages as he yanks the covers up so you're covered. You feel a laugh bubble up in your chest as he scrambles to tuck himself back into his pants, clearly not interested in traumatizing whoever is walking downstairs.
"Morning, Howletts." Will greets, walking into his kitchen.
"Morn-"
Logan's voice is a bit higher than normal and he coughs a bit.
"Morning."
Guilt wells up in your chest. You and Logan had just defiled this man's poor pull-out sofa bed. It doesn't help that Logan's big hand is resting on your hip, drawing teasing little circles on your skin.
"Good morning." Kathryn greets the two of you as she descends the steps
Luckily she too, goes off to the kitchen, asking her husband about coffee. You're about to demand Logan pass you your shirt which lays forgotten on the floor when much to your horror, Laura walks down the steps.
Your prayers are denied when instead of entering the kitchen, she walks towards you and Logan, sitting on the recliner opposite of you.
Logan looks over at you, unsure of his next move. The obvious one is that he should get up and attend to Charles who is surely awake now but you don't want him just leaving you half-naked. A small groan escapes your lips and you look at Laura who is already staring, probably trying to work out why the covers are up to your chin.
"Laura, can you um, grab that shirt at your feet?"
She glances down before passing it to you. Logan lets out an amused chuckle before gently lifting the blankets to hide you behind them while you redress.
"Keep laughing and I'll cut your dick off." You threaten, pulling the shirt down your body.
"You like it too much to do that."
You send a rough punch into a muscled arm and he drops the blanket.
"Hey, don't hit me." He says, a frown on his pretty face.
You stand up, ignoring him and beckoning Laura to go to the kitchen with you. She walks ahead of you and quick as lightning Logan reaches out and gently slaps your ass. You whirl around to see his face full of boyish amusement, making him look years younger.
"Wasn't me."
Charles somehow manages to convince Logan to spend the day with the Munsons, claiming he's too tired to leave. You can't quite tell if he's faking or not, but before you know it you're watching Logan help Will with the horses you saved on the road yesterday.
"You sure you have to leave tonight? You and Logan still look exhausted." Kathryn points out as the two of you lounge on the front porch in rocking chairs.
You couldn't admit to her that the source of both of your exhaustion was from defiling the sofa bed.
"Ah, well we should make up the lost time. Plus we don't want to overstay our welcome." You sigh
"Nonsense. Tell you what. I'll give you our phone number. If you guys ever pass through here again, we can get together." She smiles
"We're not that cool, you don't want to spend more time with us." You reject
"I happen to think you and your little family are wonderful. Besides even Laura and Nate are getting along, he even let her borrow his iPod." She points over to the two kids, Laura is watching Nate climb a tree, iPod in hand.
"Alright, fine." You relent, not having the heart to tell her you didn't plan on ever driving through here again.
"Great, I'll be right back."
Your eyes scan the peaceful land you're sitting on. The setting sun and the chirps of birds fill your eyes and ears as you look around. Eventually, your eyes fall on Logan who has shed his shirt, leaving him in the white tank top he often wore. Your eyes greedily drink up the exposed skin as his arms flex while he helps lift a hay bale for Will. As disgusting as it might be you want to run your lips across those sweaty biceps, this morning had not been enough to quelch the fire in your stomach. Logan was simply a wet dream come true.
"Does he know you check him out constantly?"
Kathryn's voice has you sputtering, embarrassment flooding your system. She laughs loudly and passes you the paper with her number.
"I saw you last night when he came out in that flannel and jeans, I'm honestly surprised the seams didn't burst, your man is rather muscly." She teases
"Ah yeah, Logan has always been well-built." You say, thinking of how strong he was.
"When we were lying in bed last night, Will asked me how long it'd take for him to look like that. I told him not in a million years."
You laugh freely at that, trying to imagine Will Munson suddenly becoming as muscle-filled as Logan was.
Kathryn lets out a love-sick sigh, "I never want him to change though. Will is perfect in my eyes. Just the man for me you know?
"You two gossiping about me?" Will asks stepping onto the porch
"We sure are. All bad things." You grin, "Like the time you left the toilet seat up."
Will laughs, his warm gaze landing on his wife, "I haven't done that in years."
"Sun's setting. We're leavin' soon Logan declares as he walks over, shaking Will's hand in thanks.
You nod and stand up, shoving Kathryn's phone number into your jeans pocket.
After one more dinner, Kathryn insisted on it, you're packing the truck up, while Logan is arguing with Charles upstairs who has spent the day in bed, reading and eating a package of double stuff Oreos.
"Shit." Kathryn curses over a sink of dishes
"You alright?" You ask
"Fine, There's this water main about a mile or so away. Assholes shut it off every once in a while." She sighs, "Will! Waters off again!"
You watch as Logan tosses his bag into the bed of the truck, glancing over at Will who is already walking off in the direction of the water pipes.
"I'll be back soon, try to get Charles out of that damn bed." He says
"How?" You groan, knowing how strong-willed the old man was
"I don't know. Remind him about young mutants or some shit." Logan sighs, obviously tired, "Just try to get him in his chair at least."
You nod and take a step closer to Logan, hooking your fingers into his belt loops, and pulling him in so his chest brushes yours.
"And make sure Laura doesn't try to steal their kid's candy. I saw her eyeing it up earlier." He says
"Got any more orders for me, Sarge?' You tease
"Sorry. I just...We need to get a move on before they find us again. They're using Caliban to track us." Logan worries, resting his hands on your hips while you place yours on his chest, feeling his heartbeat.
"I know." You say sadly, thinking of your pale friend.
"See you soon, sweetheart," Logan says, leaning down to rest his head on your shoulder, his face buried in your neck.
"Logan?"
"Mmm?"
"I love you."
You can feel the smile that stretches across the weary face you want to wake up next to for the rest of your life. He brings his head back up and the porch light makes his eyes twinkle just the slightest bit.
"I love you too."
A gentle kiss, unlike the ones you've shared before, is pressed to your lips and then he's walking off, the darkness swallowing him whole.
Charles is aggravating, he kicks and swears when you go to grab him. You sigh and collapse onto the floor on the other side of the bed. If he wasn't your father figure, you would've smacked him by now. You loved him but he was testing your patience.
You glance over at Laura who is laying on the floor, her eyes shut. She looks peaceful, like a normal little girl. You want her to experience a real like, one like Nate Munson has, winning track meets and doing math at the kitchen table with her dad. You want to experience it with her, fill the shoes of her nameless mother, and have Logan truly be her father.
"I'm sorry," Charles whispers into the darkness
"For not cooperating? Good. Now let's get you in your chair." You say, resting your head on the side of the bed.
"I remember it. Westchester."
Your heart drops to your feet. You and Logan had agreed never to tell Charles about what happened that day. You both knew it'd break his heart to know what happened.
"I've hurt so many. My family. People I've never even met.
Heavy footsteps thud in the hall and a big shadow casts its way into the room, blocking out the hallway light. Logan. That was fast.
"The past two days have been the best days I've had in a very long time." Charles declares
You want to agree with him, to validate his feelings but your voice dies in your throat, so you listen instead, just like Logan is.
"And I know I don't deserve it."
Charles' voice breaks up mid-sentence and the sound of it has tears stinging your water line. Tears for him, for Laura, for yourself, for your friends who he accidentally killed. For Logan who you knew you'd never have enough time with, your failing bodies would one day claim the love story between the two of you.
"I think I finally understand you, Logan."
The soft shifting of sheets hits your ears. Logan must be trying to pick Charles up.
It's the sound of claws unsheathing that has you confused. What was he doing?
Your stomach drops when you see it. A monster bearing Logan's face and body stands before you. A single hand pressed to Charles' chest is what your eyes focus on. Just barely you can see the adamantium glinting in the low light.
"What the fuck?" You breathe
A loud scream snaps you from your trance. Laura.
The little girl who you've become so fond of is on the imposter's back, her own claws unsheathed, stabbing and tearing at him. You rush to Charles' side, placing your hands over the wound in horror. He mumbles something and tries to push your hands away.
"It's alright, we're gonna keep pressure on it, okay." You say, trying not to panic, "Just look at me. Deep breaths okay?"
Charles nods, his hand coming up to wipe at the blood that's trickling from his mouth. His eyes look behind you to Laura and the monster struggling. You should turn to help her, you should, but you can't leave him. Charles. The man who took you in after your parents threw you out when your mutation manifested. Charles, the man who taught you how to focus it, how to control it, how to use it. Charles, the man who was dying in your arms.
"It's alright, eyes on me, it's just you and me."
The man in the silver wheelchair is odd. Sometimes, you can hear him in your mind. But today, he's speaking out loud as he asks you to focus on the blood that courses through his veins. Instead, you focus on his brown hair that is shiny in the sunlight. It's like he's spent some time styling it before coming to see you in this huge home of his.
"Calm your mind and focus. You can control your powers, they are gifts, I'll help you to see them the way I do."
"It's alright...eyes on me...it's just you and me." You gasp and your voice begins to wobble, you can't do this.
The sound of clinking restraints and the crack of a baseball bat have your mind reeling. You take Charles' hands and press them to his chest, whispering that he has to keep pressure on the wound.
You turn around just in time to watch the sixteen-year-old boy you've come to care for drop to the ground dead. Fresh blood pours like a fountain from the six holes in his chest.
Rage courses hot through your veins, bubbling up like a volcano as the click of a shotgun is heard. Kathryn.
You try to block it all out as you will Nate's to come to you, to serve you.
It doesn't.
You scream in frustration as Kathryn's voice shouts at you to run. heavy footsteps are closing in on her. Laura's loud yelling has your world spinning as you stare at the puddle of blood on the ground. What was happening to you? Were you really this useless? Letting your friends be murdered? Letting a little girl be kidnapped by some clone who shouldn't even exist?
The shotgun goes off, it's followed by a slash and another loud scream from Laura. A thud sounds and you know Kathryn is dead. Butchered like a fucking animal.
You wrap your arms around yourself and scream, you scream for your powers, for your friend and her son, for Logan, your Logan to come save you.
"Calm your mind and focus. You can control your powers, they are gifts, I'll help you to see them the way I do."
As if it's magic, the blood bubbles up and begins to move as you will it to. Your mind burns as you bend it to your will. The discarded baseball bat sits on the ground, and you scoop it up. Charles says something but you miss it, that freak of nature won't be taking Laura anywhere tonight.
You pass Kathryn's corpse. Her eyes are empty as she stares up at the ceiling. Her blood follows you down the steps where the clone is.
Laura lets out a loud shout when she sees you behind her. The clone spins on his heel and he cocks his head to the side, like he's confused you're even here.
You can sense it, in his blood. The x-gene, the one that makes a mutant, is there. It's strong, stronger than yours is, stronger than Logan's. A killing machine stands before you.
Laura is discarded like she's some piece of trash as the clone tosses her across the room and onto the kitchen table. Long claws glint in the light as they slowly extend from his hands. You answer it in good faith, the blood you have from your friends is fashioned into long tendrils and sharp and deadly, and the baseball bat sits in your hands as extra insurance.
"Give me the girl. Give her to me and you can leave."
You try to reason with it before you begin a suicide fight.
No response comes but instead, he charges at you, ready to kill.
Your brain feels like it's ready to burst as you let the blood loose, directing it to impale him, to send him flying. He smacks the table and goes flying through the wall into the front yard, taking Laura with him. In some other world you'd be able to use his own against him, pinning him down and blowing him up would be so much easier. But, you're scared. Scared of what it will to do you.
"Kathryn!"
Will Munson has returned to a dead family.
"What happened? Kathryn?!"
He asks when he enters his destroyed home and sees you, blood tendrils floating next to you. He glances up the steps and you know he sees Kathryn lying there, eyes glazed over, unmoving.
"Nate!"
He's dead too. You don't have the heart to tell him.
"What the fuck did you do?" He asks staring at you, "What did you do to them, freak?!"
You want to tell him it wasn't you but you can't. He takes a step back and your instincts kick in. Your hand flies up and the blood of his wife and son hit him in the chest, sending him flying into the kitchen.
And then, he's back. Logan. Your Logan has returned. He races up to you and his hands cup your face but he doesn't say anything. You whisper for him to go get Charles and he listens. Telling you to stay put. Your skin burns as much as your brain does when he leaves you.
Laura is screaming again as you walk after her ignoring Logan's words. The clone is fighting what looks like a bunch of men in cowboy hats. An expensive truck's headlights illuminate the bloody scene.
"There's another!" A voice yells when one man sees you
He loses his head to adamantium claws while trying to run away.
You catch a glimpse of a man in a white lab coat. He's yelling something that your throbbing mind can't process as you set your powers back on this clone. Blood, sharp as glass skewer the imposter as you pin him to the ground, others wrap around his feet, as he is spread starfish on the ground.
Your mind is breaking down, you can feel it. Your senses are dialed up, you can practically taste the blood of the fresh corpses beside you. A loud shout breaks the trance and you whirl around to see Will pointing a shotgun at you.
He fires it.
You turn your head and block the shell with a wall of blood. Your grip weakens on the clone, if this goes on too long, it'll escape.
He fires again.
Logan yells your name, he is carrying Charles out of the house.
"Marvelous, marvelous." The man in the lab coat is speaking to you.
Your mind is going numb, you have to finish this.
"You, my dear are simply extraordinary! Oh the power in your genetics, the future of mutants!"
The van behind him explodes and you lose your control of the blood. You're sent flying to the ground, and blood splatters down, falling like rain as it covers you in its metallic scent. The scent of your singed hair burns your nose. The lab coat man has been knocked out by debris.
Will Munson's shotgun cocks again, yet it never fires.
The clone has unknowingly saved your life as he sends three clean claws into Will's belly before letting him fall to the ground. You feel guilt when you realize you're relieved that Will Munson is gone, unable to gun you down.
Logan is calling your name and when the imposter lifts you up from the ground you see him running as fast as he can to you with his limp that never goes away.
You turn to stare this animal in the eyes. Its heart is beating rapidly, pumping blood to his body so he can kill all these people, so he can kill you. The fear from earlier goes away, you know you can do this. The blood is there, it's just a matter of focusing.
And then, it's rearranging itself, arranging itself at your command.
Claws dig into your belly and a white-hot pain follows as they're removed. It lets out a grunt, the first noise you've heard from it all night as its nose begins to bleed. You're going to rip this thing in half and send it back to hell. Maybe you'll see it there.
You feel it, your brain collapsing in on itself as you let out a yell, a last-ditch effort at getting your powers to truly be your own again.
The ground is cold and hard as you land on it with a thud and a splash of blood explodes across the grass. The monster is sent flying backward into the tractor behind it, impaling it on metal spikes.
Pride surges through your system when you see its head, a chunk of it is missing and it's no longer moving. Faintly you're pretty sure its heart is still beating, what matters to you though is that Laura is safe. Whatever that thing was, it wouldn't be moving for a while.
Your mind is blank as you lay in the grass. Vaguely you can feel the blood you're drenched in, it's ruined your clothes, the casino sweatshirt Logan bought for you to hide behind is fucked, no washer in the world could get it clean again.
And then he's there, above you, scooping you up, holding you to his chest. You can feel his heart beating as he says your name, telling you it's okay, that you're okay.
You want to reply but your mind can't formulate any words, they come out as incoherent gasps as Logan holds you tightly. He holds you and gently rocks back and forth. You feel warm tears trickle from his eyes down your neck as he presses a kiss to your skin.
He shifts again and his forehead presses to yours and his eyes meet yours. His hand gently cradles your face, brushing your hair from your eyes and wiping at the blood that's splattered on your face.
"My pretty girl,"
His voice is nothing but a whisper in the wind as his salty tears stain your face.
"I'm so sorry."
His words, filled with regret seep into your skin like they're secrets just for the two of you to know. Your bleeding brain is a mushy mess as you try to get it to cooperate one more time.
"Logan,"
Your voice is so quiet you swear he didn't hear it. But, he does, he always hears you when you speak.
"I want..."
"I want...to meet you again...to live a life with you"
Perhaps thats the wrong thing to say because he's even more upset now. Bushy brows knitted together in sadness, you're sure you even see his lower lip tremble a bit.
"We will, we'll meet again. You're tangled in my soul now, I'll give you a life, a real one. I promise."
You swallow thickly, trying to get your tongue to say them, your dying words,
I love you.
They die on your tongue and you want to cry out in frustration. Instead, you think them. You think them. You think of the many nights you spent beside Logan at the smelting plant watching a movie on the old box TV he found for you, you think of how his lips felt against yours just this morning, legs tangled in the sheets brushing his. You think of how he looked when you first met him, fresh-faced, smoking that stupid cigar of his.
Logan's thumb brushes the tears that leave your eyes and you sigh. His skin was warm in contrast to yours and it felt like stars were dancing across your skin as your eyes raced to memorize every inch of his face. You wanted to keep him as your own forever.
You'd see him again one day, in another life perhaps.
After all, he promised.
But wait! There's more... Logan and Reader's story continues in The Other Life coming on 9/19.

What a fate
Ran x good girl! reader
this is a part 2 to my fic "i can't sleep", dont worry i'm feeding ur families they will no longer starve. apparently people are really into ran considering how many notes that fic of mine got (and who can blame them honestly)
unrelated but i cant believe it took me this long to get into housewife radio by ghost i love the horror vibes because of course i do
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You've had a turbulent few days recently. Ever since you agreed to do that stupid dare Ran hasn't left you alone.
He did promise to do so but you didn't think he was actually serious about "making you his". How could you let this happen?
Things turned out completely opposite to what you expected, though. Instead of dragging you to his gang meeting to beat the crap out of you, he's taking you there to threaten his lackeys that if they even so much as lay a finger on his girl (you), they'd feel hell on earth.
You suppose that it's nice that he wants to protect you but you feel extremely out of place and uncomfortable at a gang meeting of all places.
Your parents think you're studying at a library right now. Somehow, you feel like you're commiting a crime.
You also met his brother at that meeting.
It seems being a good-for-nothing delinquent runs in their family. You feel sorry for their parents. If they even have them.
"Wow, I would've never thought the nerd would be your type." Rindou teased Ran. Actually, maybe it was both of you he was teasing.
"She's the one that kissed me first." Ran smirked at you.
"You're the worst. Both of you." you furrowed your brows, not finding either of them amusing in the slightest.
"Your girlfriend hates you, man. Personally I would not put up with that." Rindou seemed disinterested, checking his nails as he said that.
"I am not his girlfriend, either!" you defended yourself but Ran just looked at you like he pitied you and Rindou looked like he didn't believe you.
"Right, okay, if you say so. You two have your lover's quarrel on your own. I'm going elsewhere." Rindou just casually left, leaving you all alone with Ran in an abandoned storage unit. Oh boy.
"Umm, I should get going- ack!" you felt your wrist getting grabbed, preventing you from leaving. There's your only exit up in smoke.
"Leaving so soon? But we haven't even had our fun yet." Ran smiled at you and you honestly felt scared at that moment. Oh no, you shouldn't have yelled back at him so daringly just now. Now he's going to beat the crap out of you and drop you off in front of your parents doorstep as a warning to never mess with his gang again.
He leaned in closer and you braced yourself for the pain, but instead of that you felt his lips on yours.
Kissing...?! Again?! Well, atleast it's better than a punch to the face... You can't believe it's come to a point where you're glad to get kissed by Ran.
But still, does he have to kiss you in the least romantic place possible? Even if you did have feelings for him you'd totally find this moment cringy.
"You suck at kissing." He comments heartily, pulling away.
"I'm not the one who kisses a new girl every day. Maybe I actually have some self-respect." You crossed your arms. He was your first kiss after all.
"Every night is an exaggeration. It's like, every week." You couldn't tell if he was joking or being serious, even if you saw his expression.
"Oh, wow. Glad to know that I'll get cheated on in about 3 days. Way to make your 'girlfriend' hate you less."
"I'll stop for you." He smiled.
"Uh huh, whatever." You rolled your eyes.
Though, his kisses are actually kind of making you.... No, no! Don't fall for that! You can't believe you almost admitted that you'd fall for him if he kissed you more.
.
"How's it going with your new boyfriend, girl?"
"God, do not call him that." You held your forehead in frustration.
"I think he's taken a liking to you." Your friend nudged you, pointing at Ran who was sitting on the other side of the cafeteria and smiling at you as he ate.
"Great." You said sarcastically, immediately looking away when your eyes met.
"See? It ended up well. Now you have a hot bad boy boyfriend." Your friend kinda wished she'd done it instead of daring you.
"Didn't I just... ugh! I don't think my parents would agree with you." You placed your forehead on the table, groaning. "You date him if you want a bad boy so bad. But I hate you for dragging me into this." Your voice was slightly muffled.
"Yeah, we'll see. You'll be the happiest couple ever in like, two months."
You raised your head, looking back at Ran once again. You're in quite the pickle, aren't you? The next thing you know, you'll fall for Haitani Ran.
How scarily exciting.
.
"Hop on." Ran stopped on his bike in front of the library. How he knew you had a study session there today? Don't worry about the details.
Another motorcycle ride... You feel like you barely survived the last one.
"My parents expect me to be home in 10 minutes." You crossed your arms. You weren't lying, either.
"Who cares? Live a little." Ran rolled his eyes playfully. Clearly he isn't going to let you back down.
"I'll do it, but only if you keep it to ten minutes." He was right, backing down isn't your thing. You wonder how much resisting him you could get away with if you weren't special to him.
Special to him... huh.
"Killjoy." He insulted you lightly as you sat down in front of him. Again, neither of you are wearing a helmet. This is the last time you'll let it slide.
"I prefer to not get scolded endlessly." You held onto him tightly because you knew what was coming and didn't want to almost fall off the bike again. He felt proud when you held onto him like that.
Like you're finally his. To be honest, he didn't really care much for you until you kissed him out of nowhere like that. How bold of you, the top-of-the-class rule stickler. But he likes that. And that's why he decided to make you his.
Isn't the fact that he lets you ride on his motorcycle enough to see that?
You felt the wind blowing against your face as you set off. Now that you feel it again, it doesnt feel too bad. It's kind of nice, actually. And Ran is warm, too.
The scenery moves past the two of you and strangely, you feel really calm and at peace. It feels like your parents don't exist in this moment and that you can just... live, and feel the adrenaline of the high speed.
This is so scarily exciting.
"You look relaxed." He said, looking down at you.
"I am. And look at the road, will you?" You scolded him but your voice was still relaxed. You look up at him again.
He actually isn't that bad looking. You kind of understand why some girls would fall for him. You, on the other hand...
Are unfortunately befalling the same fate.
He didn't say anything but you had a feeling he knew you were staring.
"You look like you're in love."
"What?! How would you even know?!" You looked back at the road, hiding your face from him. You can't help but get defensive of such a thing.
God, you hate that he's right.

Mr. & Mrs. Hunt (Chapter 6/7)
Tumblr media
Mini-Series Summary: Two of the most stubborn people in the group partnered together for an undercover mission are also the two people with the most hatred for each other, so what could go wrong? Or is it, what COULDN’T go wrong?…
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Avenger Reader (Enemies to Lovers) (Fake Marriage Trope)
Word Count: 3300+
A/N: I have only read through this once, but I plan on revising it this afternoon, so please excuse any mistakes! The next chapter will be the last, and I'm so glad you guys have enjoyed it up to this point :) You all are the best! (Also, I tried fixing as many of the tags as I could, but if it's still acting weird, please message me or send an ask!)
_________
Chapter 6:
“Shit, you have a mean right hook, but you kinda have to hit the target for it to have the impact you want!” I pant as I move just seconds before Bethanne makes contact with the wall behind me. “You learn that in pilates? Maybe I should take it up.”
Reggie let out a frustrated grunt from the room over where Bucky was now ducking and weaving out of angry, calculated swings.
In assessing my opponent's fighting patterns, I sense Bethanne going in for another swing. Grabbing the picture frame off the wall, I bash it into her head, where she teeters and falls back, discombobulated enough for me to move to help Bucky.
“I should have known better than to trust you two,” Reggie grunts as he gets a slight jump on Bucky, shouldering him and taking him to the ground. “Especially you’re bitch of a fake wife-”
I go to handle the comment for myself and help Bucky, but something about the slur triggers Bucky to handle the situation on his own, and the next thing I know, he’s now on top of Reggie and twisting his arms in a way that causes a wale in pain to follow.
“That’s not how you speak about a lady,” he grits through his teeth and winds back to swing.
At the same moment, with my attention elsewhere, Bethanne comes from behind me with a piece of glass from the picture frame -that didn’t do the job I’d hoped- and slices deeply in the back of my arm, getting a scream and hiss from me.
She’s seething when I turn around, her own hand dripping blood on their pristine white carpet from the clamp she has on it, ready to give another slash when the opportunity presents itself.
I hear Bucky shout my name, distracted by my injury, and then catch a glimpse of the tussle that breaks back out between the two men. One problem at a time.
Holding the back of my arm, feeling the blood leave my body faster than I expected, I twist my head to the side at the blonde. I learned the intimidation tactic from Wanda, and when I say it works, it works…
Bethanne’s crass smile falls, and she is smart enough to take a few steps back.
“I’m not a gentleman, so I won’t hold my tongue, bitch,” I add emphasis on the name and start walking to her with my head down and eyes glaring at her. Instantly, she turns on her heel and runs to another room, where I pick up my speed and follow her.
I get my foot in between the doorframe before she has the chance to shut it, and dear God, I wish I had my Doc Martens right now to kick the damn thing down. I shove my shoulder into it, and she stumbles back for a lamp in the bedroom we were in now.
Not well calculated, she throws a small one, and I dodge it as it slams into the door behind me.
“Come on, Bethanne. All those sole cycles and bare classes, and you don’t want to see if those muscles work? Throw a hit like a woman. Let’s make this more interesting,” I move to a fighting stance and ignore the sting on my arm, knowing I have fleeting moments of adrenaline before the blood loss catches up.
“You’re just mad you got caught,” she spits out, and I mean literally spits out. The saliva would have hit my foot if she wasn’t such a sissy. “You think we didn’t catch on from the second bug you destroyed? Pretty fucking obvious if you ask me.”
I could hear more pieces of furniture breaking off in the other room and realized that maybe this chit-chat needed to end.
“Sure. Let’s go with you guys figuring it out sooner. If that makes you feel better about all this,” I shrug, rolling my eyes and stepping in to move this party along.
____________
The night before. Bucky’s POV:
Due to the wire in the bathroom, which neither Y/N nor I wanted to deal with, I had to shift my nighttime bathroom routine to the master’s.
Like any normal master bath, there were two sinks, and I stationed myself at the one Y/N hadn’t. For the first time since coming to this place, we actually felt like a couple as we both got situated on our side of the counter and started doing our nightly regime.
“How intense of a wire do you think it is?” she asked quietly after washing her face and dapping the water off her skin with a clean towel.
The doors to the bathroom and her room were both closed, creating a barrier to the others.
“I think we’re safe to talk in here,” I answered, rinsing my toothbrush I’d just used and throwing it into the travel bag I had.
“Ok, so I can ask freely, how much longer do you think this mission is going to take?” she sighs, opening the cabinet in front of her, taking out three cosmetic vials, and putting them in a practiced order in front of her.
“Huh?” I let slip, and she turned to me with furrowed eyebrows.
“Huh, what?”
I shake out of my disbelief and look at her clean and noticeably smooth face. A subtle scar next to her eyebrow being the only form of imperfection by societal rules, but I wouldn’t call it that.
“I didn’t think you were a,” I paused, not sure what to call what I was seeing. I just saw her as someone who would splash some water on her face at the night's end and call it a day. Then again, I didn’t know enough about face creams and serums I’ve seen Nat and Wanda use.
“A clean person?” she finishes my sentence with a harsh laugh as she brings out a spray bottle with a maroon liquid in it from another cabinet, spritz her face three times and pats it in with her hand.
“Don’t think that’s the word I was looking for,” I shake my head, running a hand through my hair and fidgeting as I feel her gaze shift to me.
“Not a face washer and 20 ageless serums kind of guy?” she hums, rubbing a green goop in her hands before all over your face. “Well, not all of us are aging at the rate of paint drying. Some of us have to put in effort to look this good.”
I smirk at that because I don’t think she realizes what she just said.
“You say I’m effortlessly handsome?” I grin, turning and resting my back on the counter as I watch her.
She can’t seem to help her own smile and bites her lip as she fans her face, grabbing another small dropper bottle.
“You know what? Don’t even try and pretend you don’t know you’re a pretty face,” she blushes and tries to backtrack. “God. Can you believe the difference this conversation would have been just two hours ago? And now I’m here calling you pretty.”
“I’m not complaining.” The grin on my face hurts with how authentic it is. “And if it makes you feel any better, I think Reggie would steal you away as his wife if I weren’t already attached to you.”
“Ah, yes. The testosterone battle that took place tonight. Glad you brought that up,” she nods, placing the finished bottles back in the cabinet and adding the last serum to her face. Her skin had a nice glow after the magic treatments. “I knew men lay their claim, but you seemed more intense than I’d imagined you’d be about that kind of stuff.”
“He was undressing you with his eyes,” I said sternly, compared to the easy-going tone we had stuck to. “He needed to be set straight acting like that.” My arms crossed as I watched her unbothered by the conversation piece.
“And you, acting like a lion ready to bite the head off of him while trying to get on their good side, was the way to counter that behavior?”
“I wasn’t that intimidating.”
“You’re James Buchanan Barnes. You don’t have to put on an act to be intimidating. Therefore, when you put on any protective act, the intimidation act just multiplies.” She deadpans to me.
Ok, maybe she was right… I was a little more invasive into her space this evening, but it was to prove a point.
“I was doing my job,” I shrug, stepping closer, picking up her skincare bottle, and examining it.
“You played the annoyed and jealous husband very well. I’ll make sure your nomination for a Tony Award is submitted.”
I shake my head, handing her the bottle she places precisely in the cabinet.
“Are you a neat freak?” I ask, and she turns to me, pulling her hair out of the ponytail she had put in to wash her face.
“I’m not anal if that’s what you think? I prefer things to be organized where it’s helpful.”
“I’m pretty sure that’s what a neat freak would say…”
“Says the man who organized the spices alphabetically and sorts the coffee pods by color.” She tidies her space, wiping any water with a washcloth, and turns out of the room, flipping the light switch with me still in there.
“When you’re cooking, it makes things easier to find. That’s just common sense. And the color thing? Well, it’s aesthetically pleasing,” I debate, following her on her heel.
“Sure thing, neat freak…” she laughs, going to her side of the bed and getting her nightstand prepared for the night.
I watch her, and she doesn’t seem to mind as I silently catalog her ritual. When she finally gets things settled and looks at me, waiting for a reason for why I’m still in her room, I stumble over my words.
“You’re question earlier.” Considering the life mic in the room across the hall, I have to be careful in choosing my words. “Maybe this suburban life isn’t as bad as we thought it was. It is a nice break from our former day-to-day.”
She nods, pulling back the covers of her bed and rubs lotion from her bedside into her palms.
“There are some aspects I’ve come to like,” she smiles genuinely.
“Agreed.”
____________
Present Time
In seconds, Bethanne was unconscious and lying on the ground with a curtain cord binding her on the ground. She’d be occupied enough for me to help Bucky restrain his opponent and come back to move her after.
I held the back of my arm, which was still oozing blood. The dizziness was slowly creeping up on me, but I tapped into the reserve of adrenaline to assess the chaos in front of me.
Lucky for Bucky, he was holding his own well enough even if his opponent was double his size (but are we shocked? No.), so I moved to the kitchen for a weapon, considering we didn’t have time to prepare before this fight broke out.
For context, this all started with me coming over here to meet Bethanne for a yoga class she had invited me to this morning. Bucky just happened to be heading home earlier from "work," given that he actually had nothing to do.
Lucky for me because Bethanne had used the excuse of yoga to corner me, and Reggie happened to be home to help, too.
I had played into their casualness to start, feeling the energy off and their disposition askew, and tried to stall for a while, knowing it would be a better fight with my partner nearby. I texted Bucky to meet me at their place with an excuse, and by the time he got there (5 minutes later), the fight broke out, and all curtains were pulled back to reveal the truth.
“Barnes!” I shout, and his head pops up from his position, trying to disengage Reggie. I throw the knife I got a hold of from across the room, and he spins, turning the giant perfectly to where the knife embeds itself in the front of his thigh.
A yell in pain sounds, and Bucky turns to hold his head in a lock that eventually makes Reggie pass out.
Silence takes over the space. The only sound is our panting as he looks at the damage and sees the end of our mission come to a close. Whether intentional or not…
“So, that was fun. Glad we got some cardio in,” I huff, pulling my arm closer to my body and putting pressure on the cut.
“Jesus fuck,” Bucky runs a hand through his hair and walks to me. “Where’d she get you?”
His hands are gentle and light compared to how he’d been using them the last few minutes. He turns me to the side, using my shoulder as leverage, and bends to look at the gash on my arm right above the back of my elbow. I had been wearing a dry-fit running jacket that clung to me, so the damage wasn’t 100% visible, I’m sure, but the hiss he lets out when he sees it leads me to believe otherwise.
“How’s it look, Doc?” I ask and wince with a sharp breath when he pokes at it. “Dude. Jagged glass cut. Careful.”
“Just moved the fabric,” he grumbles, still examining it. In front of us, Reggie groans. We both look at him.
“We can play operation in a minute. Let’s tie the big guy up, and you can help me get Raggedy Bethanne from the other room in here to interrogate,” I push past his shoulder as I move to get Reggie situated.
Begrudgingly, Bucky helped me move the sleeping giant and we shut all the blinds and set the space for a controlled interrogation.
Currently, Bucky is on the phone with Steve, letting him know the plan went awry. We were working on getting information while we waited for a team to come collect the two perpetrators. Steve confirmed he’d send undercover agents as cops for us to wrap up the loose ends.
In the middle of the call, someone knocks on the door, and we share a look. I’m still covered in blood, but I find a painter's poncho on the side, throw it on quickly, and grab a used paintbrush in the convenient tray next to it.
“One second!” I shout, making a few marks on the poncho and one on my face for show. I go to open the door, praying I don’t have any blood on my face, but I did well in keeping away from Bethanne’s pathetic attempts of retaliation.
When I open the door, I see their next-door neighbor, Mrs. Nosy-Nancy Betrum, smiling wearily in front of me.
“Oh, hello, Charlotte,” she says nervously, trying to peer into the house around me. “Is Bethanne in there?”
“Oh,” I perk up casually, turning behind me for a second and looking back at her. “She just ran to the bathroom. Is everything ok?”
“I just heard some shouting and crashing and wasn’t sure what was going on,” she started, still trying to peak into the background that I’m mostly hiding, so I moved a little to show the not-as-destroyed part of the house.
“Oh, she’s doing a kitchen renovation and asked if we could help since we have some experience ourselves. The boys are hauling and dismantling some things. Lots of grunting and noise, I’m afraid,” I cringe lightly to play into the apologetic side of the conversation. “I’ll let her know we’re being too loud.”
“Oh, ok,” she nodded, seemingly convinced but still glancing in.
“Char, can you come help me and Reggie with this?” Bucky shouts, and I turn to look at him as he gives me an out.
“Sorry about the noise, Nancy. We’ll try to be considerate about it. One sec, honey!” I nod back. “See you for Wednesday book club at Katrina’s next week.” I give an award-winning smile, and that seems to seal the deal.
“Let me know how the finished project comes out,” she waves, walking down the steps.
After I shut the door, I groan as the pain in the back of my arm throbs more and more.
“I’ll get Beth,” Bucky stands up from where he has successfully tied up Reggie and anchored him to a chair. “You go find a clean cloth and put some pressure on that,” he points out my arm that’s smearing red into the white paint I had tried to hide it with.
“Good plan,” I nod, hissing as I move to the kitchen to make a makeshift tourniquet.
_____________
The mission was done. I could sleep in my own bed now. My arm hurt like hell, and I was dreading the unfortunate aftercare and restrictions to come, but the mission was done, and I was headed home.
After we got Bethanne and Reginald situated, the interrogation started, and they squealed like pigs. Well, Bethanne did, but Reggie didn’t hold out like he thought he would after some convincing with Bucky’s form of torture. Restrained if you ask me…
We had a list of other names to hunt and find. We found solid evidence in their home to prove most of it. Steve and Nat were given puzzle pieces that we had come for originally, so we were on the right path of taking down the organization Fury had been hunting.
Things worked out for the better, even with the fact that they had successfully hidden a bug, and we were discovered. But there was a reason Bucky and I were picked for this, and we proved that.
“What’s the diagnosis?” Bucky asked, coming into the med-bay I had been stationed in for the last hour on the Quinjet home.
“I won’t need a robotic arm, unfortunately. I’ll have to wait a little longer before I can join your one-man club,” I sigh depressingly before I quirk a smile at him.
“Wouldn’t be a one-man club if you joined it, now would it?” he laughed, sitting on the bed next to me where the nurse finished the stitches and wrapped a clean gauze bandage around it.
“Thank you.” I nodded her way as she grabbed her things and walked out quietly.
“Gonna be a minute before you back out in the ring, huh?” he asked, bumping my shoulder. “Sam hasn’t been proving to be the best dueling partner. Maybe since you won’t try to kill me now, you can take up the title? I feel like you’d be a decent match.”
I turn to him after picking at my bandage and eye him. “Who says I wouldn’t try to kill you still? What’s the good of training if you’re not practicing the real thing?”
He rolls his eyes and spreads his legs a little more, causing his knee to bump into mine.
“I don’t think you’ll be up for the killing portion of our fights for a bit, so I’ll take the advantage as long as possible.”
“You think a little scratch like this has held me back from killing before?” He laughed under his breath, and we sat in comfortable silence for a minute. “The team isn’t going to believe I no longer have a vendetta against you,” I whisper. “They’re going to think we’re putting on an act.”
Bucky’s POV:
“I, for one, prefer the nicety over the insults, but that’s me personally,” I say, noticing the nerves in her comment.
“I’m going to miss insulting you,” she sighs heavily, and I’m shocked at her closing in the space enough for our shoulders to touch. “I don’t have to give it up fully, do I?”
I take her attempt of trying to lighten the mood and nod.
“Considering the team is going to give us hell for it, and Steve has a bet we’ll make up in 3-weeks-”
“Wait, make up? I thought the bet was how long until we bite each other’s heads off.”
“Nat’s bet is. She gave it until tomorrow actually. Steve was rooting for us I guess,” I shrug.
“Hmmm,” she nods her head as she thinks things through. I’ve seen that look many times. “What if we messed with them?”
“Channel our energy into keeping the charade going a little longer so neither wins?”
“You really shouldn’t be betting on your friends,” she grins mischievously.
“I’m always down for winning a second time this week,” I smile back.

Platonic Yandere Metkayina Family X Human Child Reader Part 3
~Hey! I know this took me a while to do, but now that a new semester is started I actually have motivation to write consistently. So, I should be posting a bit more frequently now! Anyway, on a side note, I'm not sure if it was obvious, but Ronal isn't pregnant in this story. Mostly because I think it would be too challenging to write an infant into this storyline.
Masterlist
Part 1 , Part 2 , Part 3
CW: yandere behavior (platonic), protective behavior, near drowning, fall risk
Tumblr media
~
-It had taken you about two more days to feel almost completely better. But your family was still babying you… a lot.
-And you were getting VERY frustrated with it.
-Sure, you liked all of the attention. However, you wanted to move around on your own now that you were feeling better, not be in a wrap!
It was just after breakfast, and your mom was trying to put you in the wrap to take you with her. And you were not having it. You were groaning and sinking to the floor to delay going into the wrap.
Ronal was kneeling on the ground in front of you, trying to get you into the wrap so she could take you with her, and was bewildered by how you were acting. She had never seen you act like this, granted she hadn’t known you very long either. But that wasn’t the point! The point was she didn’t know why you were so upset about the wrap, when you’ve never complained about it before.
-She tried one more time to pick you up and put you in the wrap. And you just dropped straight onto the floor and started crying. Loudly.
-Ronal just frowned and sat down fully in front of you, picking you up into her arms and rubbing your back to try to calm you down.
-You had thrown your head back already by the time she asked you what was wrong.
-You just gasped before spitting out that you didn’t wanna be in the wrap anymore since you felt better.
-As soon as Ronal heard this, the meltdown made sense. She untied the wrap from herself before fully picking you up to take you with her. Luckily, you were calming down by then and wrapped your arms around her neck.
-She turned to look at the rest of her family, who she had forgotten were there to witness that, and gave them a reassuring look before making her way to her healing tent. In the end, she wasn’t surprised that a small child would want to move around a lot more after recovering from an illness.
As she was walking, she looked down at you to see you fast asleep, and she just kissed your head while continuing on her way. She also felt your feet swinging against her sides, making her smile, but only a little bit.
It didn’t take her long to make it there, and set you down on what might as well be your personal cushion at that point. And she set down her human medicine bag and got out the thermometer, putting it in your mouth without disturbing you. And when she took it out, she was pleased and relieved to see it say 98, the correct temperature for you. She smiled and calmly sat by you and mixed together more balms and salves.
At one point a new mother of the clan came in to talk, and asked to set her baby on the cushion next to you, which Ronal allowed. And it was adorable to see an infant that was about half your size next to you. The woman commented on you not looking so bad anymore, and that she had heard you were sick and was glad you looked like you felt better.
-Ronal smiled and said that you definitely felt better, if the fit you threw to escape the wrap this morning had anything to say about it. She laughed with the other woman, who said her baby had done the same thing this morning as well.
-Although it wasn’t long until the infant woke up and started crying, waking you up as well. You were confused, but quickly woke up, and picked them up with you as you sat up. You rocked the both of you until the baby had calmed down.
-You looked to the side once they stopped crying to see your mother and another woman looking at you and the baby. They each had a very soft look on their face, which you figured was because of you calming down the baby.
-You looked back down at the baby again to see them staring up at you, then they reached up and put their hand on your face. You smiled at them before their mother took them from you and into her arms. Your mother doing the same with you.
-You looked up at her to see her smiling down at you, and you smiled back. Then, she got a weird, far off, look on her face. You just scrunched your nose at her and looked over as the mother and her baby were leaving.
-She was only loosely cradling you in her lap, so you rolled onto the ground in front of your mother and made your way over to grab your craft basket. Then you went and sat on your favorite cushion, which was next to where your mother did her healing duties daily.
Ronal had finally seemed to come out of her daze as you started weaving some shells into an anklet for yourself. She made her way over to her station and gathered the things she needed to make more of most of her healing pastes and salves, then sat down right next to your cushion. And the both of you worked on your separate activities for the better part of two hours.
By the time she looked at what you were doing, you were finishing up a second anklet for yourself. And once you truly finished it, you looked over at Ronal and asked her if she could put both of them on you. She, of course, said yes. Then gently grabbed your legs and tied each anklet securely, but not too tight, around each of your ankles. Once she was done, you got up and walked around in the hut, smiling at the shells clinking together as you walked.
-Ronal was watching you enjoy yourself with a small smile on her face, happy that you can create accessories that you enjoy.
-Though her thoughts were interrupted by Neytiri walking through the entrance of the hut. Ready to get more lessons of the metkayina way of life from Ronal.
-Neytiri had seen you, now, skipping around the hut. In your own little world. And she just lightly scowled at you. She knew you were a sweet little kid, but her opinion of humans in general dampened her reactions to you.
-She just quietly made her way over to Ronal and sat down to help her finish making the pastes and salves. Keeping a distrustful eye on you the entire time.
-The novelty eventually wore off for you and you went back over to your mother and plopped down in her lap. Looking over at the darker woman with curious eyes. Though you quickly looked away from the, almost, nasty look she gave you.
-You just settled against your mother and looked around the hut, and before you knew it, you were being carried out of the hut and slightly into the water before being set down.
-You knew she was going to be teaching the forest woman their way of life, and that included the breathing techniques they had already taught you.
You were gently set into the water next to your mother and started slowly swimming around the two women. Both women keeping watch over you. Your mother to make sure you were safe, and Neytiri because she didn’t trust you. And you were ignoring it to actually swim around like you wanted to.
Ronal had been teaching the breathing technique to Neytiri for a couple days at that point, and she had done well and just needed to push herself to stay under for longer. So, as soon as you dove under the surface of the water, Ronal had done the same with Neytiri.
She had been guiding her through the reefs under the water while also making sure she could still see you. They had been swimming and communicating in simple sign for about five minutes before she saw you swimming towards the surface to get some air. She made sure you made it there without issue and started diving back down again before she moved her attention back to the forest woman. Though instead of you going off on your own among the reef, you swam to her and wrapped your arms around her neck. She just turned and kissed your cheek before continuing to guide Neytiri around the reefs.
She just continued swimming while gently dragging you with her while trying to teach Neytiri. Though as soon as they had made it to a spot with a large amount of glowing coral, your favorite area to swim around in, you had let go of her and swam to gently touch the coral. Which glowed brighter at your touch, which is why it was your favorite.
-You had been entertaining yourself with the coral while your mother and the woman from the forest continued swimming around you.
-Though when you turned your back towards the coral to sign to your mother that you were going to swim to the surface, Neytiri was right in front of you swimming to the surface as well and accidentally pushed you into the coral behind you by your chest.
-You had the breath knocked out of you, and that made you inhale some water. Your chest hurt and you started panicking.
-You looked around for your mother and desperately gestured her to bring you to the surface. She noticed your panic right away and quickly grabbed you and rushed to the surface. Though you were just focusing on not giving in to the urge to cough.
-As soon as your head was above the water you began violently coughing up water. You had your head hanging over your mother’s shoulder as you coughed, your chest rattling from the force of them.
-You were clinging to your mother’s shoulders, and she was gently patting your back to help you get all the water out of your lungs. It had taken you about seven full minutes of coughing and gasping for breath before you winded down and slumped against your mom.
-You two had bolted to the surface, and a couple minutes into your coughing fit, Neytiri had surfaced. And her attention was immediately captured by your distress. Her ears perked and her pupils dilated. She may not like humans, but she was concerned for you. Especially as a mother herself.
-Though as soon as you completely stopped coughing, Ronal turned to Neytiri and let loose some scathing words for her about accidentally shoving you under the water. Though she did notice the darker woman’s ears droop down while being scolded.
-Once she was done talking and had calmed down, Neytiri came a bit closer to apologize and check if you were okay. You just glanced at her and nodded before drifting off to sleep in your mother’s arms.
-And after that, their session of lessons ended for that day. Both of the women made their way to the shore and went their separate ways for the day.
-Neytiri was sulking while making her way back to their marui, and Ronal was power walking to her own marui.
Once she got to her marui, she walked in and briefly set you in their sleeping space before tying the wrap on her and put you in it on her front, facing her. She began rubbing your back while walking around her home and gathering things to make a snack for you to eat once you woke up. Though as she was finishing putting the snack together for you, her older child Tsireya had walked into the marui.
She seemed to be confused about what her mother was doing in their marui at this time of day, and came closer to see her making some food with you actually in the wrap. She came up to her mother and put her hand on your back, concerned because of some rumbling happening in your chest as you breathed. She looked up at her mother’s face and got a look that said she’d get an explanation later.
Though it didn’t take you very long to wake up again, and immediately start coughing again. You didn’t even register the two women in your family fussing over you while you were in your small coughing fit. You were more focused on the small dribbles of water coming out of your mouth after being forced from your lungs. You stopped after only about two minutes, and pushed your cheek against the side of your mothers arm, verging on her shoulder. So, that must mean you were put in the wrap while you slept. You could only stare at the water, combined with spit, running down your mother’s arm. You then mumbled a ‘sorry’ as you laid against your mom's body.
-Ronal just shook her head and started rubbing your back again. Before taking the snack and walking over to sit down and start feeding you the food.
-She looked down at the water dripping down her arm, concerned about how much water is still in your lungs considering how much you coughed up so far.
-Meanwhile, Tsireya only had an idea of what had happened to you, but was very concerned nonetheless. Still lightly patting your back.
Both of them had sat down on the floor and took turns feeding you small bites of the cut up fruit Ronal got for you. You chewed them slowly, until they were all gone. And by the end you felt a lot better. You had started squirming a bit to get taken out of the wrap, which you were glad your mother didn’t hesitate to do that time. Though you still chose to sit in her lap and continue cuddling up to her.
Meanwhile Neytiri had made it to her family’s marui and had curled up on the ground and started sulkingly weaving a new top for her oldest daughter. And while she was doing that her mate had come in and sat down next to her after noticing her sullen mood. He waited a few moments waiting for her to talk, but sighed and asked what was wrong. Neytiri just heavily sighed and buried her head in her knees before saying that she had accidentally hurt the little human child earlier that day. Jake’s ears folded down a little bit and he asked how she had done that. So, she told him about the diving she had done that day, and how she had accidentally shoved the child into a wall of coral under the water. And how hard you had been coughing up water, and how Ronal had chewed her out for it.
Jake just winced as he saw his wife’s tail curl even more into her body and her ears curl down harshly. He just put a hand on her shoulder and assures her that as long as it was an accident and she apologizes to you, she shouldn’t worry too much about this situation.
She glances up at Jake while still resting her face on her knees to see if he was joking or not, and found the look in his eyes to be sincere. She sighed again and leaned against his chest as she said she would apologize again before dinner that evening. Jake smiled and kissed her head before saying that that was a great idea and would probably mean a lot to you.
-Meanwhile, you were getting coddled for the rest of the day, especially after your mom told your sister what had happened during the dive that day.
-And then they roped your dad and brother into it too.
-So now you were being babied like you were sick again. And it annoyed you so much.
-During the lunch your family had, you were sat on your brother’s lap and your sister insisted on feeding you your food. You had huffed and tried to grab your plate from her but quickly gave up.
-And after that your dad had picked you up and carried you with him while he went to teach Jake Sully. Who you waved at once you saw him. And he waved right back at you.
-You guys would just be wading in the shallow waters while Jake was learning more of the sign language from your dad. You weren’t really paying attention as you swam around both of their legs, deciding to cling to one of Jake’s legs after circling him a couple times.
-He just chuckled and lifted you above his head from under your armpits, and briefly threw you in the air above him, easily catching you as well.
-You gasped when he threw you, but quickly broke down in giggles when he caught you. You had never had someone do that to you, but you loved it. You immediately asked him to do it again, and maybe higher.
-He just kept smiling and prepared to throw you into the air again. But prepared to throw you higher by lowering you to his chest level in front of him before launching you up in the air. You laughed the whole way up, which was pretty high because of how light you were to him, and starfished out in the air while you were falling. Easily being caught again.
-But this time he brought you to his chest to hold you properly. He leaned closer to you and brought a hand up to whisper that Neytiri felt bad and was gonna apologize to you again later in the day. And you just smiled at him and copied his hand motion to whisper back that you already forgave her, because it was obviously an accident.
-He smiled at you again before noticing the mildly panicked and angry look on Tonowari’s face. He turned you around to face him and motioned like he was going to throw you.
-Tonowari rapidly got the hint and put his arms out in front of him to catch you. And this time Jake threw you in a big arc to your dad. You were laughing and clinging to his arms when he caught you. And he just had a relieved smile while turning to Jake and asking how he knew you would like that.
-Jake laughed and said most human children loved it. And that all of his children had loved it when they were small enough for it.
-Tonowari was curious and looked down at you sitting in the crook of one of his arms, and you were still smiling. But once you noticed that he was looking at you, you excitedly asked if he could throw you just as high. Maybe even higher.
-He nervously smiled before saying that he probably could, and gently brought you in front of him. Though he looked over at Jake and motioned him over to his side with his head. And he wanted to ask him how to do what he did.
-Jake said he could do some tiny tosses to get used to the motions before doing bigger throws. He then looked at you and said, “You wouldn’t mind that, right Y/N?” To which you vigorously nodded.
Tonowari sighed before lifting you up above his head and lightly tossing you up in the air a couple times to get the hang of it. He got more confident each time because of your delighted giggles. You caught your breath as he lowered you to be in front of him so he could throw you higher. And he did that a couple times as well, you being launched at least 10 feet up each time.
And it wasn’t long before he was very comfortable with the activity and prepared to throw you up as high as he felt comfortable with. You were being dangled at his thigh level before being absolutely launched into the air. You probably went almost 60 feet up since your dad put a lot of strength into it. You just heavily breathed with a huge smile and wide eyes while stalling in the air at the peak height.
Unfortunately, this is when your mother showed up at the shore beside the men. And she let out a panicked shriek when she saw you up so high in the air. Though she was left to stand there watching in horror as you started plummeting, in her point of view, towards the two men just standing there. She started rushing to be in range to catch you as she heard you laughing while falling, though she didn’t register it. She was a step away when you landed safely in her mate’s arms, though she collided with his side as you devolved into hysterical giggles. She also ended up knocking the four of you over into the water, though she had snatched you out of your dad’s arms and held you up above the water so you couldn’t accidentally inhale it again.
As soon as she sat up in the water she was checking you over for any injuries. Though you just continued laughing and hugged her neck as you told her about your new favorite activity. She barely noticed the two men sputtering as they also sat up in the water and looked over at the woman who was clutching you for dear life.
-She turned to the two of them and asked them why they had thought that was a good idea.
-Tonowari quickly defended himself by saying he wouldn’t have done it if he didn’t think he could catch you. And he pointed out that you loved it. Though he said that if he threw you that high in the future, and he will, that he would do it in an area with deep water that would break your fall and prevent you from getting hurt.
-She just blew air out of her nose before turning a sharp look to Jake.
-He put his hands up in front of him and said that he knew most human children loved that, and that his children had loved that as well. Plus, he taught Tonowari how to do it properly to make sure you were safe.
-She ended up shaking her head before saying that if you ever got hurt from them doing that, she would beat them.
-Both men winced and said they would with drooped ears and tucked tails. She was very intimidating, even with you perched at her ribcage.
-And with that, she said that it was time to prepare dinner, so they needed to come out of the water anyway. She had originally come to get them.
-They just watched her walk away with you before making eye contact and wincing again. And they just started silently walking to the shore.
-Though Ronal didn’t have a chance to calm down before Neytiri came up to her and asked to speak with you. She was about to hiss at the woman before you said okay and wiggled to be let down. Ronal just scowled before gently setting you down.
-You walked to be in front of the woman, and she kneeled down to be somewhat close to your height.
-She then briefly looked at Ronal before looking you in your eyes and very sincerely apologizing to you. Saying how it was an accident and she would never, ever want to hurt you. Plus, she was sorry for being distrustful of you, she was just wary of all humans at first.
-You blinked up at her before slowly hugging her around her neck. You then told her that you forgive her and that it was fine that she didn’t trust you at first, because you knew most humans on this planet were terrible.
-She was shocked that you hugged her, but she slowly wrapped her arms around you as well. And said thank you once you were done speaking.
-She gave you a last squeeze when she saw the impatient look the other woman was giving her. And watched you skip back over to Ronal and make grabby hands to be picked up.
-This time she parted ways with you two with a small smile. Making her way to her own children.
-You were resting your head on your mom’s shoulder while she was making her way to where her older children were waiting for her and her husband.
-Though she had to tell them that he would be a bit behind them as they were doing something reckless with you.
-Both of them were concerned hearing that and asked what their dad was doing with you that was so dangerous.
-Ronal just sighed and set you down before walking closer to her older children and telling them what she had seen. You, very high up in the air after being thrown by Tonowari. Ao’nung and Tsireya just gasped and made eye contact with each other.
-Though their attention was grabbed by their dad joining them, and you running up to him and asking to be tossed.
Tonowari saw the looks the rest of his family was giving him, but chose to ignore them. He lifted you up and held you up above him and tossed you a little bit up in the air a couple times in a row, almost bouncing you in the air. And you were just giggling before asking him to toss you higher. And he smiled before lowering you a little bit to give you some more air time, securely catching you each time. Though he set you down once he caught the sharp look his wife was giving him.
Though his other children were looking at the activity almost in wonder. They would never say it out loud, but it looked fun. They were almost jealous, but seeing you having fun was enough for them. Their attention was, once again, captured by the Sully family coming up and joining them. The other kids sat down around you and your siblings, who also just noticed that you sat down in front of them. And the adults went to help finish the dinner and bring it back to their children.
Though you took the opportunity to go up to Neteyam and reach up and ask if he can toss you. Neteyam just looked down at you before making eye contact with your siblings. They just shrugged, but you got frustrated and started slapping at his legs. He smiled and rolled his eyes before putting his hands under your arms and lightly throwing you as he stood up. You laughed as he easily caught you. But you grabbed his arms to ask how he knew how to do it right.
-Neteyam blinked down at you, before saying that his dad taught him when Tuk was born because he was trusted.
-Though your brother got pretty jealous and went over to tell him to teach him how to throw you.
-You got snatched into the arms of your brother and held out in front of him while he demanded Neteyam teach him how to do the throwing you thing properly.
-Though Ao’nung scowled when he was only told to throw you straight up, not in any other direction, and to practice the motion of catching you.
-So, he held you up how he had seen the other boy and his dad doing, and lightly tossed you into the air. Though he was thankful that you made it so easy to catch you each time, along with your joyful laughs.
-And he made the mistake of getting distracted when he had started tossing you up higher. He had seen the other forest boy, Lo’ak, sit down next to his sister Tsireya and briefly turned his head to scowl at him.
-Though in the time that his head was turned, you had started falling and were going down past his shoulders by the time he was paying attention again. Though as soon as he was catching you in a panic, you had almost hit the ground. And he had just managed to get a hold of you before your head hit the sand, and quickly brought you up to his chest to wait to see how you would react.
-But he breathed a sigh of relief that you didn’t start crying. You were just wide eyed, clutching him, and catching your breath. Though he insisted that no one told the adults, and got nods from everyone in return.
-And everyone breathed a sigh of relief once they were all situated somewhere and the adults came back with food for everyone.
-And you stayed on your brother’s lap as you were handed food, and were happily eating it on your own, with someone looking at you to check on you every once in a while.
-Though as you all were going to sleep that night, snuggled together, none of you could think that things would change how they did soon after that.
(To be continued)

Punches and donuts - Jason Todd x Wilson!reader
Tumblr media
So much for dinner.
Bruce had hosted this year's holiday party at Wayne Manor and invited his entire extended found family, plus several members of the Justice League and their extended families in turn. Jason had been invited too, of course. He hadn't really wanted to go, but his brothers had convinced him. Loosen up, they'd said. It'll be fun, they'd said.
Well, it hadn't been. People had spent the night whispering about his presence. Bruce had made a halfhearted and ineffective attempt at shutting down the gossip. His brothers had all shot him apologetic looks. The air had grown heavy. Jason had stood up mid-meal, grabbed his coat, and left without a word. He'd probably made things awkward at the party, he knew, but right now, he didn't care. They should be glad he didn't blow up in their sanctimonious faces.
"Stupid dinner. Shouldn't have gone." He wasn't surprised that the streets were nearly empty. Everyone was home with their families, celebrating—even the criminals. The snow was coming down heavily now, and a fierce wind had picked up, blowing a flurry of white into his eyes. He blinked the snowflakes away and pulled his jacket closer around himself.
"F*ck me," he cursed, furious. The night kept getting worse. He didn't have a ride. Everyone was at that stupid party. He'd have to walk back. Just his goddamn luck.
A soft rustling behind him was the only warning he got. Jason spun around and his instincts kicked in, the adrenaline from his earlier anger propelling his fist forward, sending it flying toward the figure behind him. His knuckles collided with the figure's face, sending his attacker staggering backward.
Wait. That wasn't an attacker. "Oh, sh*t. Uh." God, tell him he didn't just break someone's nose. "F*ck. I'm sorry."
i hiss holding my nose, "fuck, Todd!"
"Oh, sh*t. You're bleeding."
Jason's annoyance with the fact that he'd just assaulted a bystander vanished in an instant, replaced by guilt and panic. He stepped forward to get a better look at the person in the dim streetlights. His brain had registered that it was a woman. Her hood was pulled up, making it difficult to see her face.
He gently took her wrist and pulled her hand away from her face. "Lemme see."
"Jason", i hiss softly, "careful"
It took a few seconds to register that he knew that voice, but when it clicked, Jason's eyes widened in horror.
"YN? F*ck."
He'd punched her. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks. It could have been worse, but it didn't change the fact that he'd hurt one of the very few friends he had.
Jason held her chin in his hands, tilting her head up to inspect the damage. "I didn't see you," he started, trying to rationalize, his eyes filled with remorse.
"yeah, figured", i chuckle
Jason let out a heavy exhale, relieved that she seemed calm and not, say, homicidal. She was making light of the situation, which probably meant she was okay, but he still felt awful all the same. "I didn't mean to, I thought you were—well, you know what I thought."
There was no point in trying to explain himself. He'd f*cked up. He just hoped he hadn't done any lasting damage and winced when he saw the blood dripping from her nose.
i smile, "its fine Todd"
"It's not fine."
If anything, her being so casual about it made him feel worse. She was being so nice, and he'd hit her. Punched her in the face. If she was anyone else, they'd probably be furious right now.
"I hurt you, Yn. I should've—I should've been more aware."
He released her chin and ran a frustrated hand through his hair. "Here." He pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket and offered it to her.
"thanks" i place the handkerchief against my nose," yah alright?" i huff softly.
He nodded, albeit reluctantly. "I'm fine. I'm worried about you more than me right now."
He watched as she pressed the handkerchief to her nose, feeling the guilt gnaw at him. He'd always had a short temper, but this incident was downright unacceptable.
"Is your nose broken?" he asked in a low voice, still watching her with a worried frown.
"nah, itll be fine, aint my first rodeo"
There was something about the casual, lighthearted way she talked about getting punched in the face that concerned him more than anything else.
"Yn," he said, his voice taking on a tone that was half-exasperated, half-serious. "This ain't funny, y'know. You just walked into a right hook. A heavy one, at that. It's probably not good that you're laughing right now."
i try holding back a smile, "aww are u concerned about me Todd?"
He rolled his eyes, his cheeks feeling a little warmer. "Don't make me regret worrying about you, Wilson," he shot back in a gruff voice, but there was no real annoyance behind the words.
"I punched you. This isn't fun and games. You—"
He stopped himself just in time before the word "deserve" spilled from his lips. He was grateful she was being so casual, but the fact remained that he'd hurt her.
""you" what?"
He froze for a moment, mentally kicking himself for letting the word almost slip out. He clenched his jaw, trying to find the right words.
"You...deserve better than this," he said finally, his voice low and quiet. "You deserve better than someone who can't tell the difference between you and a..."
An attacker. He swallowed the word down, feeling the weight of it on his tongue. He didn't want to explain why he'd been on edge, not that it would justify punching her in the face.
"can u stop? u sound like some sappy teenager, im fine, really - i am, okay?"
His shoulders slumped a bit, the tension leaving him as he realized that she wasn't going to let him beat himself up over this. He sighed, a hint of irritation in the sound. "Fine," he begrudgingly agreed. "I'll stop, but can you please stop acting like getting punched in the face is just another Tuesday?"
"-but it is, being a vigilante isnt easy, u should know"
He gave her a deadpan look. "I know that, Yn" he said with a roll of his eyes. "I'm not some newbie vigilante who hasn't taken a punch or two."
His expression softened a bit. "But just because we're used to getting hurt, that doesn't mean it's okay to brush it off when we do get hurt."
i smile," im okay, but are u? u left the dinner very...abruptly"
He averted his gaze, trying to act casual. "What's there to be okay about?" he quipped, shrugging. "Dinner was dull, the people were dull, and I had a damn headache. Had to get out of there."
"cmon, lets go be gloomy on a rooftop", i say in a mock deep voice
He couldn't help but snort at her silly imitation of his usual demeanor. "You're so damn annoying, you know that?" he said, but there was no genuine annoyance in his words.
"Alright, let's go be all brooding and edgy on a rooftop," he agreed with a light chuckle. i watch him amused.
He noticed her amused expression and shot her a reproachful look. "Stop looking at me like that," he grumbled, folding his arms over his chest. "like what?" i poke his arm
He sighed at her playful poke, resisting the urge to roll his eyes again. "Like you're enjoying this, like you find it amusing that I'm bothered,” he said. “I accidentally punch you, and you just laugh it off. Anyone else would be angry. But not you. You just find it funny."
"it is funny". His expression darkened at her nonchalant response. "Funny? It's funny that I hurt you? What's so funny about that, Yn?" he demanded, his voice rising with frustration and disbelief.
"u were so caught off guard" i chuckle softly, i nudge him playfully, "im okay"
He grumbled, letting out a long sigh. "Yeah, I was caught off guard, but that doesn't make it amusing." He looked at her, his expression still showing traces of irritation.
"I just...I don't like the fact that you're so casual about it. You didn't even get mad at me. Any other person would've been furious."
"want me to yell?" i ask jokingly
He couldn't help but roll his eyes at her offer. "No, don't be ridiculous," he retorted. "I just...I don't get why you're not angrier about this. You're just so...calm."
"if u wanna make it up to me, u can buy me donuts"
He raised an eyebrow at her request, surprise mixing with irritation. "Donuts? You want me to make it up to you by buying you donuts?" He shook his head incredulously. "Seriously, Wilson? Donuts? That's all it takes to make you not mad at me?"
"jelly filled, raspberry" He rolled his eyes, a scoff escaping his lips. "Jelly filled, raspberry, fine. Any other requests? Want me to tie a bow on the box too, while I'm at it?"
"sure", i muse
He could have strangled her with how blasé she was being, and now she had the audacity to demand a bow too. "You're insufferable, you know that?" he growled, a hint of a smirk on his face. i smile, "of course"
He shook his head, fighting back a sigh. "You're lucky you're cute," he muttered under his breath, realizing he was begrudgingly enjoying their banter. I grin at him, "think im cute?"
He tried to keep his expression neutral, but a hint of a flush crept across his cheeks. "Don't fish for compliments, Wilson," he grumbled, looking away from her gaze. "You know damn well you're cute."
i smile "damn right"
He rolled his eyes but couldn't suppress the hint of a smirk that tugged at his lips. "Arrogant, aren't you?" he retorted, but there was no genuine annoyance behind it.
"arrogant? me? yes" i joke.
"...can u buy me my donuts...tomorrow morning?"

You were even more glad to be home alone when you felt a pair of warm lips on your neck, restless hands on your waist and the slight scruff of Bucky's stubble scratching your skin.
"Hello, you." You couldn't help but smile, partly because you didn't expect to see him today but mostly because he was so fucking eager.
You felt him hum his response more than you heard it. His mouth was occupied after all. His fingers flexed and tightened their grip on your waist, pulling you as close as he could manage.
"Good day at work?" You teased, arching your back slightly to press your ass against him. No matter how many he sees in his line of work, Bucky is absolutely an ass man.
"Are you joking?" He groans, sounding frustrated. "I don't think I've ever had a worse day on set."
He's piqued your interest, that's for sure. By all accounts, he's usually very happy with his job but that's to be somewhat expected when you're one of the most popular male pornstars in the industry.
Your phone lies long forgotten on the marble countertop and you do your best to loosen his grip enough to allow you to turn to face him.
"What happened?" You don't even sound incredibly sure of yourself. He might not want to talk about it and if that's the case, you don't want to press him.
"I couldn't finish." His cheeks are burning pink like someone has slapped both of them; frustration and shame blazing under his skin. "I tried everything. Thank God I had a condom on so I could fake it."
Your heart rate speeds up because you don't have a clue how to fix this. How do you make him feel better? What could you say that won't make him feel worse?
It's fine, it happens to everyone! Perhaps not.
I'm so sorry you couldn't finish for some other woman. Nope, not awfully sincere.
Maybe you're just getting to that age? No, definitely not.
"Well, what did you try? You've never had that problem when we're together." Your fingers drift through his dark hair and you can smell the fragrance of his shampoo so strongly, you know he's had a shower before he came over. He always does. It's just nice to be reminded though.
"Everything I usually do. I tried talking dirty, I tried changing positions. Nothing worked for me. She was a lovely woman, don't get me wrong." He's never sounded less sure of himself and it's actually a little heartbreaking. "I think you've broken me."
You can't help but laugh. You've broken him. As if he doesn't consistently leave your legs shaking. As if he didn't introduce you to pleasure that even your favourite vibrators can't compare to.
"It's true! I swear. The only time I even got close was when I closed my eyes and thought of you. But Jesus, that felt so wrong. I couldn't do that." He didn't think he'd admit that to you but in the moment, it was hard to keep it in.
That's a compliment though, right? It's a little weird but he meant well.
You didn't expect any of this when he walked through the door and you feel yourself racing to keep up, trying to find something to say to fill the silence.
"Nothing feels as good as you do." Thankfully he's still functioning, pent up frustration simmering over and his lips make their way back to your neck. "Nothing fucking compares to you." His hands slip under the hem of your thin top and you don't make any attempt to stop them.
Heat blossoms low in your tummy, creeping its way into your chest while the praise keeps coming.
"No one moans as pretty as you do. No one touches me like you do. No one makes me as filthy-minded as you do." He punctuates his sentences with squeezes to your breasts and bites to your skin and the combination is magical.
"Oh yeah? Are you sure? Because I'm going to be really disappointed if you can't cum for me either." You're only teasing him and he knows it but with his injured pride, he's already far too keen to prove himself.
"We both know I don't have that problem with you, honey. Hell, if anything, I struggle to last." He's inflating your ego and you're not sure if he knows it.
You don't really know which of you are more keen as you begin your ascent to your bedroom, trying to shed your clothes on the way. It's a relief to see the smile on his face and for a second, you just have to stop in the hallway to kiss him because he's too damn cute.
Neither of you have it in you to wait. With the state you're in, any more foreplay might just leave you trembling and despite the fact he likes to be courteous, he doesn't have the patience to drag this out either.
You lay on your back on the bed, watching him kiss up the insides of your thighs while stroking his own erection and you struggle to remember a time you felt this overwhelmed with excitement. Eventually, you feel his hot breath on your slick cunt but for once, he doesn't dwell there too long. There's a desperation to the way he's stroking himself now and you entirely understand, despite how mesmerising it is to watch him touch himself.
"Fuck, look at you." He moans, his thumb pressed to the top side of his length while he slides himself against your wet folds. "You're so perfect. All over." He grants himself a couple more indulgent, slow glides over your sex before he cups your face in one hand.
The blunt tip of his dick presses against your entrance, sliding into your body and you resist the urge to close your eyes and enjoy the feeling in favour of keeping your eyes fixed on his, drinking in how his expression reflects the pleasure he feels.
It's not hard to tell that the very first stroke has you both feeling the same. It's more than just feeling full, in a way it's almost closer to feeling complete.
"Sweetheart, you're gonna have to touch yourself." His cheeks are just as flushed as they were when he came in earlier but now he's embarrassed for entirely the opposite reason.
"You've barely started, don't tell me you're going to cum already." You can't help but laugh, taking his advice regardless. Your fingers are well versed in self pleasure, your hand slipping down between your bodies until you're able to rub your own clit in tight circles.
"I can't help it." His voice comes out closer to an elated giggle than you expected. "You've ruined me. Fuck, I'm yours."
The fingers of your free hand curl in the short hair above the back of his neck while he continues to fuck himself stupid into you. He's hardly even thinking now, letting each little confession tumble from his lips before he can even think about them.
"You've broken me. God, you feel so fucking perfect. You own me. Your cunt owns me. Holy shit." He sounds wrecked, clearly already trying to hold off his orgasm while you chase yours and you're beyond thankful it's not too far away. How could it be with confessions like that?
You feel your body fluttering around his cock, euphoria washing over you in waves that you couldn't surface from if you tried. It's an all consuming, frantic kind of pleasure. Each thrust from your partner only drags you in deeper and it's truly heavenly.
"Cum for me, Buck." You don't have to encourage him too many times. He's more than happy to give in, his arms shaking, proudly finishing inside you with a groan so beautiful that it makes you wonder if you could cum again.
He's entirely spent, for now anyway. You hear him chuckle, relief making him giddy because so long as he's still able to cum for you, you haven't completely broken him.
"Well." You smile, kissing his head before getting up to head to the bathroom. "At least I know you didn't fake that."

Episode 1: Lantern Festival
It's a beautiful day in Gravity Falls, and the Mystery Shack buzzes with activity. The sun beams through the windows as Mabel and Dipper finish unpacking their things for the summer. Soos hums cheerfully in the background, organizing supplies. Mabel, her hair in her signature colorful headband, skips down the stairs with a wide grin.
"I'm all unpacked!" she announces brightly.
Y/N, who has been helping with the moving, looks up from the cluttered room and smiles warmly. "Good job, Chiqui," Y/N says, ruffling her hair affectionately.
Mabel giggles and twirls, her mood infectious. Dipper trudges down the stairs a moment later, his face shadowed with worry. Mabel, noticing his demeanor, nudges him playfully.
"C'mon, Dipper! Don't be so down, Mr. Grumpy Grumps!"
Dipper looks up, his eyes reflecting a mix of frustration and nostalgia. "Have you ever liked someone so much that even after you stop liking them, you wish there was still something there?"
Mabel and Y/N exchange a glance. Mabel rolls her eyes, though there's a hint of sympathy in her expression. "I thought we were over this! It's been a year, Dipper. You need to meet someone new."
Y/N steps closer, her expression softening. "Don't take it too hard, Dipper. Things happen, but life keeps moving. You're a strong kid."
Dipper nods slowly, his shoulders relaxing a bit. He starts to walk away, but Y/N calls out, "Wait!"
Dipper turns, a flicker of curiosity in his eyes. Y/N's face brightens with a smile. "How about a trip to the diner? I'll get you anything you want!"
Both twins look at Y/N, their expressions shifting from concern to excitement. "Really?" they ask in unison.
Y/N nods enthusiastically. "Absolutely! Now hurry up and get in the car. We've got pancakes to eat!"
As they head out, the sun continues to shine, casting a hopeful light on the day ahead. The Mystery Shack, filled with laughter and warmth, stands ready for whatever adventures the summer might bring.
♡♡♡
Soos and Melody are bustling around the gift shop. Soos is restocking shelves while Melody manages the cash register with a cheerful smile. As the twins and Y/N approach the exit, Soos waves enthusiastically.
"Hey, dudes!" Soos calls out. "I heard there's a Lantern Festival tonight! Melody and I are going, and you dudes should totally check it out!"
Mabel's eyes light up with excitement. "A festival? Oh boy, I'm going to find so many cute boys!" She bounces on her toes, barely containing her enthusiasm.
Y/N chuckles, giving Mabel a playful boop on the nose. "I'm coming to the wedding," she teases, making Mabel scrunch her nose in a giggle.
"Whoever gets to the car last has to clean the bathrooms!" Mabel declares, taking off at a run.
"Aw, what?" Dipper exclaims, grinning as he chases after her. They both scramble into the back seat, laughing.
Y/N looks around the familiar town as they drive. The quaint streets of Gravity Falls feel both nostalgic and comforting. She smiles as they pull into the diner's driveway. "We're here, you goobers."
"YAY!" Mabel and Dipper cheer in unison, leaping out of the car and racing inside.
Inside the diner, Dipper's eyes widen in surprise. "W-Wendy?" he calls out.
Wendy looks up from her table with a grin. "No way! You guys are here already! I'm glad to see you, man."
Dipper's face brightens with a soft smile. "Me too."
"Dude, I'd love to chat more, but I'm hanging out with my dad. We'll catch up later!" Wendy waves as she heads back to her table.
Mabel and Dipper find a booth and settle in. Moments later, a familiar face approaches.
"Suzan?" Y/N says, her face lighting up. "I didn't think you'd still be working here after all these years."
Lazy Suzan, with a warm smile, recognizes her. "Y/N Ramirez! What a pleasant surprise! What brings you back?"
"I just had to come back and taste your amazing food again," Y/N replies.
Lazy Suzan laughs, giving a playful wink. "You're funny! So, what can I get you guys today?"
"I want pancakes!" Mabel exclaims, waving her hands in the air. "Pancakes, pancakes!" she chants.
Dipper nods, showing he wants the same thing.
"I'll have the same," Y/N adds with a grin as Mabel continues her chant.
"Alright!" Suzan jots down the order. "I'll get that right up for you."
As Lazy Suzan walks away, Mabel leans in with a teasing tone. "So, Y/N, do you have anyone special in your life?"
Y/N sighs, resting her elbows on the table. "Men are a waste of time. No matter how many times I try, they always disappoint me."
Mabel gasps, leaning closer to Dipper and whispering urgently. "We need to find her a match!"
Dipper glances at Mabel with a mix of amusement and concern. "Oh boy..."
♡♡♡
"I cannot believe this!" Mabel exclaims, pacing back and forth in their shared room. "We need to find Y/N her perfect match!"
Dipper, lounging on his bed with a book in hand, glances up with a mix of confusion and concern. "Mabel... She seems happy. I don't think we need to be interfering."
"Hey!" Mabel stops mid-stride and plants her hands on her hips. "The Lantern Festival is the perfect time to find her someone! It's all about magic and connections."
"Whoa, Mabel!" Dipper sits up, looking more alarmed. "You might need to rethink this. What if she doesn't want to be set up?"
"There's no time to waste!" Mabel's eyes sparkle with determination "Waddles, fetch me my pen! I need to start a plan right now!"
Dipper shakes his head, sighing but unable to suppress a small, amused smile. "Alright, alright. Just... let's make sure we don't make things awkward for her."
Mabel's face lights up with excitement. "Don't worry, Dipper! This is going to be great.
Trust me!"
The scene pans to Mabel, who is examining her model of Gravity Falls. She peers through the tiny people in the model, her brow furrowed in thought.
"I'm starting to think no one is good enough for Y/N," she muses, resting her chin on her hand as she continues to look through the model.
Suddenly, she gasps and holds up a wooden figure with excitement.
"Perfect!" she declares, a bright smile spreading across her face.
♡♡♡
Y/N is in her room, getting ready. She's wearing a pretty lavender dress that complements her features. She plays with her hair a bit, adjusting it until she hears a knock on the door. Confused, she goes to open it and sees Mabel on the other side.
"Hi, Y/N!" Mabel greets in a cheerful tone, wearing a cute sweater with a lantern on it.
"Something you need, Chiqui?" Y/N asks curiously.
"I just wanted to ask if my friends Grenda and Candy can come!" Mabel replies eagerly.
"Hm, okay," Y/N agrees.
"Yes!" Mabel exclaims excitedly.
"But on one condition," Y/N adds.
"Anything!" Mabel quickly responds.
"You meet me by the car after it's over. I don't want you running off," Y/N says with a smile.
Mabel nods enthusiastically. "I can work with that!"
♡♡♡
hey arrive at the lake where the festival will be held. Y/N takes in the breathtaking scenery.
"I'm so excited to see the stars tonight," she says, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"Well, sunset is about to happen soon," Dipper points out.
"We should go before it's too late," Mabel agrees with a smile. "Yeah! I gotta go meet my girls!" She and Dipper run off, leaving Y/N alone.
"I guess I'm alone for tonight," Y/N says to herself, but she doesn't mind. It's a beautiful night. She decides to get a lantern and heads towards the stand, but accidentally bumps into someone.
"Oh—" she exclaims, looking up at the person she's collided with. "I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean to bump into you like that."
The stranger turns around and smiles warmly. "You're all good! Sometimes we bump into random strangers."
Y/N smiles at his easygoing comment. "You can say that twice," she replies, her mood lifting.
The stranger grins. "What is a feller like you doing in a place like this?"
"I'm currently visiting family for the summer," Y/N explains.
"Well, I hope you have a good time here!" he says sincerely.
"Thank you," Y/N replies with a nod and heads towards her boat.
♡♡♡
"Dipper!" A familiar voice called out, drawing his attention. He turned to see Pacifica standing nearby, looking both surprised and pleased.
"Pacifica!" Dipper said, tucking his journal into his jacket pocket. "I haven't seen you in a while. How are you holding up?"
Pacifica smiled, though she seemed a bit hesitant. "I'm good. I just came because the whole town is here."
Dipper raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "Really? Not for any other reason?"
Pacifica chuckled softly, her gaze drifting away. "You know I'm not like that anymore."
Dipper's smile widened. "You've changed a lot since last summer."
Pacifica tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Hopefully for the better."
Dipper pointed toward the lantern booth. "Well, I'm going to get my lantern."
"I'll come with you! I haven't gotten mine yet either," Pacifica said.
"Alright," Dipper agreed. They joined the line, both looking a bit awkward as they fidgeted and avoided eye contact.
"So..." Dipper began, shifting on his feet.
"Yeah?" Pacifica replied, nervously twirling a lock of her hair.
They both started to speak at the same time, stumbling over their words. "You go first!" Pacifica urged, her cheeks flushing.
"No, I mean I interrupted you," Dipper said quickly.
"Oh—" Pacifica began, but their conversation was interrupted by the booth attendant's voice.
"Are you getting your lantern or what? You're holding up the line," the attendant said brusquely.
Both Dipper and Pacifica turned bright red. Pacifica's eyes flashed with irritation. "Excuse me, but we're just trying to have a conversation. There's no need to be rude."
The attendant shrugged, looking unfazed. "Sorry, just trying to keep things moving."
Dipper, trying to defuse the tension, said, "It's okay, Pacifica. Let's just get our lanterns."
The attendant, with a smirk, guided them towards a boat. "A boat for the young couple!"
Dipper opened his mouth to protest, but Pacifica quickly added, "Wait, I didn't get my lantern."
"We can share mine," Dipper offered, helping Pacifica into the boat. They settled down as the boat started drifting away from the dock.
As they set their lantern in the water, their fingers brushed briefly, creating a moment of electric contact. Pacifica looked at the lantern with awe, while Dipper found himself captivated by something even more beautiful—the genuine, contented smile on Pacifica's face.
♡♡♡
A man helped her climb into the boat, and she carefully held onto her lantern. As she settled into her seat, she looked up at the stars. "Wow," she whispered to herself, awe evident in her voice. "How beautiful."
She gazed at the starry sky, feeling a deep sense of nostalgia. "I've missed this," she murmured.
Looking around, she saw people settling in with their loved ones. Mabel was laughing with her two friends, and Dipper was sitting with a blonde girl. A warm smile spread across her face as she observed them, feeling reassured that they were doing well.
She turned her attention back to her lantern, watching as others released theirs into the night sky. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes for a moment, savoring the tranquility of the evening. With a gentle release, she let her lantern float upward, merging with the constellation of glowing lights above.
♡♡♡
Dipper and Y/N sat in the car, waiting for Mabel. Dipper glanced at his watch and sighed, "What is taking her so long?"
Y/N shrugged, looking around the parking lot. "I'm not sure. She might still be talking to her friends."
"I guess so," Dipper replied.
Just then, Mabel came running towards them, looking frazzled. "There you are! Sorry, I didn't realize how late it was!"
"You're fine, Mabel," Y/N reassured her. "I hope you had a good time."
As they all got into the car, Mabel suddenly burst out, "Dipper has a—"
Dipper quickly covered her mouth, a look of shock on his face. "Mabel! Did you just lick my hand?"
Mabel giggled, and Dipper rolled his eyes, but couldn't help smiling.
On their way home, the conversation turned to the festival. They chatted about how pretty and fun it had been, each sharing their favorite moments.
When they arrived home, Soos and Melody were waiting outside.
"Hey, Jesus. How was it?" Y/N asked.
"You won't believe this—" Soos started to explain, but Y/N cut her off with a yawn.
"Tell me later, Jesús. Estoy cansada. Me alegra que te hayas divertido," Y/N said with a smile.
"Goodnight, Tía," Soos added, waving as they headed inside.
♡♡♡
Dipper and Mabel are in the bathroom, brushing their teeth. Dipper, with a thoughtful look, says, "You know what's weird?"
Mabel, glancing up from her toothbrush, asks, "What?"
"Nothing weird happened today," Dipper replies, his voice tinged with confusion.
Mabel bursts into laughter, "Besides seeing you and Pacifica getting all smoochy—"
"Ugh, Mabel! I'm being serious," Dipper interrupts, glaring at his reflection in the mirror. "What is going on?"

“You know if you glare any harder, you might bore a hole through the man,” Pansy’s comment did nothing to stray your eyes away from the scene in front of you. “Yeah, well he deserves it, he’s doing this shit on purpose. It’s like he gets off on making me jealous.” You watched as Mattheo continued to shamelessly flirt with the Hufflepuff girl seated next to him. She was a giggling mess at basically anything he was saying, “He’s not that funny, she’s being obnoxious.” Pansy snorted at your comment, simply shaking her head. It was when Mattheo tucked a loose strand behind her ear that you felt like your brain was short-circuiting. Pansy saw the look on your face, then followed your eyes to Mattheo and the girl, “Oh he’s in for it now isn’t he.” You let out a huff of frustration, closing your textbook and leaving the classroom.
In your dorm room you were getting ready for the party your house was throwing tonight. Typically you dressed a little more relaxed for parties your house hosts because it’s more homey to you, but tonight you were going full on vixen. You opted for a black mini dress, skin tight and hugging all the right places. You paired it with emerald green heels, a gold necklace adorned with an emerald stone and a gold snake bracelet. You allowed Pansy to do your hair and makeup, making your eyes pop and leaving your hair down your back in bouncing waves, just like you knew your boyfriend liked.
However, he was barely going to touch you tonight. Not until you allowed him to anyway. This morning he fucked around, tonight he was going to find out. When you and Pansy entered the party it was in full swing. You spotted your group of boys in the back corner, and Merlin if Mattheo didn’t look amazing. But you took a deep breath, centering yourself. No matter how good he looked, you had to stick to your plan. Pansy bounced over to Draco, throwing her arms around him and greeting him with a big kiss to his cheek. It was obvious the boys had been drinking for a while before you both got there simply by the reaction Draco had, which was a big smile and giggle.
You walked to the group a little slower. When you approached them, Mattheo’s eyes grew wide. You could see him looking you up and down and you did your best to appear unbothered by this. He gave you a kiss on the forehead, you just hummed in return. He met your eyes, “Something wrong, princess?” You put on a big smile, “No, Teo, nothing is wrong. Why did you do something you shouldn’t have?” He raised an eyebrow at you questioningly, “Erm, no..?” Your mouth fell to a tight line, how could he be so oblivious, or was he still playing the game from earlier? You decided it was your turn now, and glanced around your circle of friends for the perfect accomplice.
Besides your boyfriend, Enzo was your favorite boy in the group. He was always so cheerful, smile plastered on his face regardless of the situation. He was a cute guy, always having his own gaggle of girls following him around, but he never really entertained it. He always seemed more interested in quidditch or parties. When he saw you looking at him his smile grew wider, “Y/n, you look, wow.” You giggled, “Thank you, Enzo, that’s very kind.” If possible his smile grew wider as he took another sip of his drink. Mattheo went to place his hand on your waist possessively, but you pushed him off, instead walking up to Enzo, “You wanna dance with me, Enzo?” Enzo’s eyes flicked to Mattheo but you grabbed hold of Enzo’s jaw, pulling him down to face you, “Please, Enzie, you know Teo never dances with me and I wanna have fun tonight.” You put on your best pout, looking up through your lashes.
You saw his shoulders slack, indicating that you had convinced him. You bounced on your toes, clapping your hands together. You knew the hem on your dress was riding up as you did so, and you could feel Mattheo’s eyes boring a hole in your back. You grabbed Enzo’s hand that wasn’t holding his drink and dragged him to the middle of the dance floor, ignoring any protests you heard from Mattheo as you passed. He looked over at Pansy, eyebrows nearly to the ceiling. Pansy held her hands up in defense, “Maybe if you’re lonely you can ask that Hufflepuff girl to dance?” Mattheo’s lips slowly turned into a smirk, realizing now the game you were playing at.
Once near the middle of the dance floor, you turned your back to Enzo, swaying your hips and grinding against him. He free hand held firm to your waist as you snaked an arm up and around his neck. He let your bodies move against each other before enlightening you, “I know what you’re doing, y/n/n.” You turn to face him, wrapping your hands behind his neck, still dancing with your body pressed to his, “You mean just dancing with one of my best guy friends?” Enzo rolled his eyes, “I know you’re using me as a ploy to make Mattheo jealous. Don’t worry though…” He leaned in closer, whispering against your ear, “He’s been a dick on the quidditch pitch all week so I’ll play along. We can give him a little show if you want.” You nodded your head quickly, then Enzo went straight to work.
As the next song came on Enzo grabbed hold of your waist, fingers dancing just above the curve of your ass. As the beat of the song got stronger, Enzo slotted his leg between yours, guiding you to essentially grind on his thigh. The song was barely a minute in before you felt another arm wrap around your waist and lift you away from your dancing partner. You didn’t even panic, you knew who it was and the way he talked to Enzo had warmth rushing to the pit of your stomach, “I don’t know what the fuck game you’re playing at Lorezno but it’s over.” Enzo held his hands up, “Listen, mate, she asked me to dance. Who am I to tell her no?” Mattheo grumbled some form of ‘fuck you’ back to him as he carried you to the edge of the dance floor and towards the stairs leading up to the dorms.
“Exactly where are we going? I’m not done dancing, nor drinking. There’s like the whole night left to party,” You were struggling against Matteo’s grip now, which only tightened with your fighting. “Oh, you’re done with the party, princess. You wanted to act like a little slut with my friend, well now I’m going to treat you like a slut.” You gasped as he threw you down on his bed, “Excuse me, sir, but Enzo is my friend too. And I wasn’t acting like a slut…we were just dancing.” Mattheo rolled his eyes, pushing you back on to the bed and crawling over you. He dipped his head in the crook of your neck, nipping at the skin making you gasp, “You don’t dance like that with my friends.”
He nipped and sucked at the skin of your neck, “O-our friend.” You barely got the words out, Mattheo’s hands trailing down your sides and playing with the hem of your dress. “Do you want our friend to be here right now because if you’d rather he help you out,” Mattheo dragged his middle finger up your clothed center, “I’m sure he’d kill to feel how wet he got you.” You tried to buck your hips towards him, tried to gain any friction possible, “N-not for him, all for you T-Teo.” He hummed, trailing his lips up your neck and along your jaw, “F’me, hmm? But you’ve barely been by me all night.” He was toying with you now, thumb drawing circles over your bundle of nerves, not nearly applying the pressure you needed. You shook your head, “Only was thinking of you, wanted, ah, wanted to make you jealous.”
Mattheo hooks his fingers around the band of your panties, dragging them down agonizingly slow. You tug at the sides of your dress, allowing it to bunch up around your waist, “You wanting me to do something, love?” Mattheo looks up at you, eyes dancing with deviance. You tangle your fingers in his hair, “Need you, Teo.” He growled lowly at the wine in your tone, “What do you need from me, princess? Use your words.” You tugged at his curls, “Mouth, need your mouth on me.” He toys with you now, laying on his stomach, smoothing his palms up your legs, squeezing the flesh of your thighs before placing a kiss to each one, “Here?”
You buck your hips toward him, causing him to flatten a palm against your hip, keeping you still. Without warning he flattens his tongue, licking a stripe up your center. You let out a choked gasp, head falling back against the pillow, “Oh, there? Is that what you want, princess?” You open your mouth to respond when he does it again, this time pressing his thumb down on your clit as he does so. “Loss for words now, hmm? But you were talking such a big game earlier.” You want to glare at him, to tell him to fuck off but the way his mouth feels on you is pure bliss.
Your nails scratch on his scalp and the growl he releases sends vibrations straight to your core. He grips your thighs tighter, surely causing bruises but in the moment you can’t get yourself to care. His lips wrap around your clit, sucking hard as he plunges three fingers knuckle deep into you. Your back arches off the bed, “Fuck, fuck, fuck, Teo, don’t stop, please.”
You can feel the smirk on his face as he works his fingers just slightly faster, the knot in the pit of your stomach becoming tighter with each curl, each lick, each twist. Your hips roll against in face, grip tightening in his hair until you’re practically using him, riding his tongue and chasing your high and the feeling gets tighter and tighter and then the rubber band snaps, your mouth drops open and a chorus of praises mixed with his name leave your mouth. And he lets your ride it out on his tongue, on his fingers, but even when you begin to settle he doesn’t stop. He pushes against the sensitive nerves and you feel like you’re going to black out from the pleasure as he demands a second release from you before you can even stop it, not that you would even want to at this point. As you catch your breath you chance a look down at him between your thighs, catch him rub a thumb across his lips, gathering your arousal and sucking it off. You smile at him and he just grins at you, a lovestruck look on his face, “If this is my punishment I’m gonna have to make you jealous more often.” You were teasing, but slightly serious. Mattheo crawls over you, face hovering just above yours now, “Oh darling, I’m just getting started.”

thank you so much for that excellent chani post. i've seen some annoying takes on twitter about how not making her totally devoted and subservient to paul makes her 'unlikeable' and i'm like. buddy. i think that speaks more to how you see women. than anything about her. this chani is very dynamic and interesting to me.
i'll be honest and say i've not read the books. this is me speaking from what i've seen of summaries, but i think giving her a real cause to fight for yet also genuinely loving paul gives her an interesting struggle, and also plays into how the portrayal of the fremen (seems to me to be) more diverse and nuanced. as in, the fremen themselves seem to have more of a push-and-pull to them. the clarification of how different fremen believe differently (the south being more fundamentalist) is a very important thing to include in a movie where you can run into the danger of saying that all adherents to a foreign, islam-adjacent (in coding) religion are all fundamentalists. that can (in less nuanced hands) be a pretty irresponsible thing. so showing that there's also more secular/pragmatic/less dogmatic sectors of the culture seems a pretty good counterweight.
so yeah. this is how i processed it as a movie-goer. and having chani represent that aspect (believing in people over prophecy, action over religion) and having stilgar as the humanized face of the southern peoples (showing that yknow, regardless of being fundamenist beliefs, theyre still PEOPLE with the capacity for love, friendship, honor) makes total logical sense. you're not just "telling" us that there's different aspects to fremen culture, you're SHOWING us by showing different characters who represent those aspects, without demonizing either or turning either into a one-note stereotype.
Thank you! I'm not someone who was a long-term fan of the books before the movie came out (I tried reading Dune as a teenager when I was reading a lot of classic sci-fi but found it too boring) but I did read Dune and Dune Messiah after the first movie came out, both because I wanted to know what happened next and because I wanted to have an opinion on how the movies worked as adaptations.
(book and movie spoilers below and also I basically ended up writing a whole essay in response to this)
My single biggest frustration with the book is that after they arrive at Sietch Tabr and Jessica drinks the Water of Life and becomes Reverend Mother...the book up and skips two years of the story and when we next see Paul he's already got Fremen followers who are ready to die for him and he's in an established relationship with Chani. Oh I was SO MAD when I got to this part. I was like FRANK. FRANK!!!! Did you seriously just skip two years of the most interesting part of your own story???
The thing is, even though I know that Frank Herbert's intention was to write a critique of the idea that oppressed people need an enlightened external (white) savior to liberate them...if you don't provide an alternate explanation for what's happening then you end up falling into some Orientalist tropes anyway. And because, in the book, we don't see the process of how your average background fedaykin comes to trust Paul as a military and political leader, there is nothing in the text to counter the idea that the Fremen are a bunch of unquestioning religious fanatics easily swayed to do violence by belief in a prophecy.
My second biggest frustration with the book is that we're given no reason at all why Chani would fall in love with Paul. While she has some memorable scenes, she doesn't have a lot to do as a character in the book, and she's missing from a whole chunk of the end...because she's in the south...because she and Paul have a baby, Leto II, who's then killed off-page when the sardaukar attack the south. (I'm honestly really glad they cut this from the film, because it never seemed to be given the narrative weight it deserved in the book.)
So you can imagine how happy I was when the Villeneuve movies figured out how to address both these frustrations by tying them together. The fedaykin don't just blindly accept Paul because of some prophecy. They come to trust him because he proves himself as a fighter, and because he starts out from a place of genuine solidarity and humility--which it is possible for him to do because he has no structural power over them at that point. And Chani falls in love with him for the same reason, in that heady environment of fighting side by side for a political cause, and maybe for the first time in a while starting to believe that you can win.
I think the Villeneuve movies improve a lot on what's in the book in terms of how the Fremen are portrayed...when we're with the fedaykin and/or Chani and Stilgar. There we see political debates and discussion and the fact that not all the Fremen think the same way. And we also see little humanizing moments of folks just hanging out, celebrating after a victory in battle and just shooting the shit and being friends.
I do wish the movie had extended this to more parts of Fremen society. If there's one thing I could have added, it would be seeing more of daily life in Sietch Tabr. It makes sense that when we're seeing things from Jessica's POV, she is more distant from and suspicious of the Fremen, seeing them as a force to be manipulated, but I wish we had even one or two scenes of people just being people in the sietch. It felt kind of weirdly empty and not particularly lived-in as a place, and I think they could've easily countered this, with scenes from Chani, Stilgar or Paul's POV, and that would have made it hit even harder when the sietch is attacked.
If there were two things I could have added, I wanted more exploration of the people of the south. Why are they more fundamentalist than the Fremen who live in the north? (We get one line about how "nothing can survive [in the south] without faith" but I wanted more than that.) While I think the movie did a fantastic job of humanizing and differentiating the Fremen we see around Paul, when we get to the south it does backslide a little into "undifferentiated mass of fanatics." Surely the people of the south also have some diversity of political views.
I think there are some interesting threads they could have pulled on in terms of how proximity to direct colonial violence shapes people's ideology. Sietch Tabr is one of the closest Fremen communities to Arrakeen, the seat of colonial control. They have probably had to mount some kind of armed resistance for generations just to keep from being wiped out. I can see that producing skepticism of the prophecy ("well I can't sit around waiting for a messiah but I do have this rocket launcher") as well as resentment at the idea of someone swooping in and taking credit for a struggle that you've put your life on the line for, and probably a lot of people you know have died for. There seem to be some generational differences, too, where young people of Chani's generation put less stock in the prophecy, while the true believers are mostly older. I can see faith in the prophecy coming out of despair--when you've been fighting for decades with no change, maybe you draw the conclusion that only an outside power coming to your aid will make a difference. While the people of the south are still under colonial rule, maybe being generally outside the reach of direct Harkonnen violence (the Harkonnens don't even know they're there) makes the concepts of both oppression and liberation feel more abstract and more receptive to being filled in with Bene Gesserit mysticism. It seems absurd to want more from a movie that's nearly three hours long already...but I wanted more of this.
Still, I do think they managed to improve on a lot of things that frustrated me or are simply dated about the book, while keeping the political thriller/war drama/epic tragedy elements that I think are the heart of the story, and in some cases drawing them out more clearly and effectively than the book did. The best kind of book-to-film adaptation imo is one that has a strong point of view in terms of what the story is About, on a large-scale thematic level, and is not afraid to change individual elements of canon in service of telling that story the most effective way possible in a cinematic medium. While there are always things I want more of, I feel like Denis Villeneuve really, really understood the assignment in terms of the overarching themes of the the story and he delivered so fucking well.

He's currently sitting in your shared tent. “Darling~” You skip happily inside the tent and sit beside him on the floor mat, facing the open flaps of the tent. “I just kissed a boy!”
"You... did what, love?" he asks, an exasperated look on his face. His hand trails down your arm, and he gently grips your hand. His heart is pounding in his chest as his face flushes. His face flushes as he processes your words. His jaw tenses, his eyes narrow, and his mouth is agape.
“I kissed a boy, a very cute one,” you say again with your chin on your other hand as you look outside the tent from the open flaps. “Why would you do that?” His voice is a bit hoarse as he tries to contain the panic and anger in his voice. “We're mates.” His grip on your hand tightens as he turns to you a bit and leans in closer.
“Because he's cute, I can't resist,” you say with a smile, still looking outside with a look of daydreaming. Neteyam's face turns into a deep frown, and he lets out a loud sigh. The grip on your hand tightens, and his brow furrows in frustration.
“You... couldn't resist?” he asks, a look of disappointment settling on his face. He seems to hold his breath as if he is trying to hold back an angry outburst.
“How could you, my love? I thought we were meant to be together for life. Are you no longer satisfied with me? Is there something I'm not giving you?”
You turn your head to the side, finally seeing his reaction when you notice the hurt and betrayal in his tone. “What do you mean? We are mates.” You sit up straighter and put a hand on his thigh. “You're everything more I could have asked for.”
“You're my mate. My soul mate... I thought we were each other's everything. My every thought and dream included you. How could you do this to us?” The grip on your hand tightens even more, and his voice is heavy with frustration. As the realization sinks in, his face turns from anger to sadness. His chest rises and falls, and he takes a few deep breaths. He seems to be trying to come to terms with your actions.
Neteyam looks at you for a moment before he lets out an exasperated sigh. “You kissed another man, my love. A man that is not your mate. We are meant to be just you and me. We sealed our bond for life, in front of Eywa. Why would you kiss another man?” He sits up straighter, taking your hand in his and letting his fingers lightly caress it. His voice is softer now, but still carries a tinge of hurt.
Youe eyes widen at his words, starting to figure out how your unexplained words affected him. “Darling... I think we all got it wrong here,” you try to explain. “I kissed a boy, not a man.” You regret the words immediately, disliking how it sounds and how you could have worded that better.
The look of hurt and betrayal that flashes across Neteyam's face is quickly replaced with confusion. “I don't understand,” he says, his brows furrowing. “Are you saying that the person you kissed isn't a man... but a boy?” An incredulous look appears on his face as he tries to comprehend your words. He takes another deep breath before asking, “Did you kiss... a child?”
You give him an awkward smile, and then nod. “More exact, a baby,” you added to his statement. Neteyam's expression changes to one of utter disbelief, and he lets out a loud laugh. His shoulders were shaking from the unexpected revelation. “I thought you were talking about another man. What were you thinking?” Then, he let out a sigh of relief. “Whose baby did you kiss?” He leans in closer to you, his expression a bit curious.
“My best friend's newborn son. She has been expecting this baby for so long and she was so excited to have him. I feel happy for her and her mate.” You explain with a more relaxed smile, glad that the misunderstanding is cleared, and he's not mad about it. “I just visited him a while ago.”
Neteyam smiles at your words, the confusion on his face replaced by relief. His grip on your hand loosens as he rests his head on your shoulder. “Oh, thank Eywa,” he exclaims, a smile forming on his face. He lets out a deep breath and lets himself relax a bit, his mind more at ease now. “I was worried for a moment,” he says, his voice a bit lighter. “This explains so much, love. I was terrified of how our conversation would turn out, and I am so happy it's nothing serious.” He gently ruffles your hair as he says this.
“I want to congratulate this little boy,” he says, wrapping an arm around your waist. His hand gently caresses your neck. “Does the child have a name yet?” he asks, his voice light. “She named her son Enyato, taken from her late brother,” you recalled the moment when she told you the meaning behind her son's name. “Enyato is such a beautiful name," Neteyam says with a smile, his voice soft and gentle.
“Want to visit the boy I just kissed?” You ask him teasingly. He chuckles at you and then gives a slight nod of his head. “I would love to meet the little one,” he says, his voice light and playful. “Please take me to him.”
Safe to say, when you see him interacting with the little boy in his arms, you're sure that Neteyam would be such an amazing father.
