Random Isle women who do NOT want kids, leaving their babies at the doorstep of Judge Frollo and Captain Hook and the likes, because, Pater semper incertum and all that: „....Might as well.“
On the Isle, Frollo is often portrayed as a creep who goes after pretty much every woman and girl he sees.
But that’s not like him.
Yes, this is Frollo. Frollo, who was so horrified at his own lust for Esmeralda that he did his best to convince himself that she was a witch who had cast a spell on him rather than realize that he was a mortal man with mortal desires to overcome like everybody else.
This most likely was the first time he’s ever felt desire towards a woman - as someone on TVTropes put it, “Given how horrified he is by both his “weakness” and his belief he’s been bewitched, it’s safe to say that [Esmeralda] is [the first woman he’s ever lusted after]. If he’d gone to such insane extremes before, he probably wouldn’t have been around to see her in the first place.”
Why would he change on the Isle? That goes against everything he believes in. He is, after all, very proud of his virtue. He wouldn’t abandon his ways at all - he’d probably see himself as some sort of righteous fallen martyr.
Sure, he’s a creep in other ways, but he’s most likely specifically been celibate, Claudine’s mother being the only exception. As for her, she was likely a one-off. Frollo is angry at himself for giving in to weakness, blames her for tempting him (although considering the whole Esmeralda thing, who exactly was doing the “tempting” is very much up for debate), and takes it out on Claudine (because of course it’s her fault that she was born /s). And that’s assuming Claudine wasn’t a random abandoned baby he found and decided to adopt.

Any headcanons for Derek, son of Dopey?
(And perhaps an answer to why Dopey was the only dwarf to not name his kids after emotions like his brothers?)
Well, Dopey isn't the only one who didn't name his kids after emotions.
Grumpy named one of his sons, Gordon, after all. And though I now can't find the kid, I swear there was a kid named 'Gus' but I could have just used that as a nickname for 'Gesundheit'.
Now, onto the revised Derek headcanons:
Tumblr media
His full name is Derek Chico Chavez Cardenas Bergmann.
Yes, it is quite the mouthful and yes he knows that.
He is 5 years older than Doug.
He lives in Charmington with his family and grew up seeing Snow White as his aunt, her husband as his uncle, and her kids (Polly the Parrot, Glauco White, and Sophie) as his cousins.
His mother is a human woman of hispanic descent named Liliana and (based on the actor of Doug's prospective in this video) she is a gold digger who doesn't really care much for either of her children (I said much not at all), unlike her husband.
He's shorter than Doug but has been described as "a hulk of a dwarf, with rippling muscles."
Derek is a mute like his father, but a selective one.
He like Doug speaks many languages. Mainly Spanish and German, as well as different types of sign language (because he loves learning new languages).
Derek is also one of the few people who can understand can keep up with Doug's science-y talk.
He is a mechanic and is great at engineering as well as weightlifting.
He and Diego fall for one another when they first meet.
He has many hobbies including but not limited to: reading, sports, studying cryptids, occasional sailing, swimming playing cards, and hanging out with his friends.
Gordon gets seasick, which assumes Derek greatly when he's being annoying.
He often helps Li Shang Jr with his rockets and breaks up fights among his cousins and friends as the reluctant peace keeper of the family.
His favorite cousins are Gordon and Raphael/Doc Jr.
He always wins at cards.
His friends are sure he cheats but they aren't sure how he does it.
He used to get so annoyed by his friends not noticing when he was trying to sign to them that he started to carry around a bell so he could shake it when they were arguing.
He does it with his family too.
He went to trade school instead of college. He doesn't regret it at all.
Derek, for obvious reasons, hates apples.
But he does in fact, love gooseberry pie.
He also loves fish soup and Germen-brewed beer (not that he'll tell his parents that, because they'd freak that he's been drinking).
He acts like he doesn't drink but he does occasionally. No one can ever prove it though.
Derek is his mom's favorite (though that isn't saying much) because he's more like her personality and looks wise (a fact he hates).
He has many nicknames—Der, Der Bear, Sneaky, Dwarf Hulk, Buff, Buffy, Muscles, and Flex.
He gets along with pretty much everyone in the family but gets along least with Hap because of how immature and unintentionally cruel he can be.
He hates his full name because of how long it takes for it to be announced at events.
He always carries a pickaxe around with him.
Derek is rather close with Harriet's crew.
He has bad memory just like Doug. In his defense, he has a lot of family members.
Derek is scared of being lost and never found.
When he was a kid, he hide in the woods next to his house to see how long it would take for anyone to notice he was gone.
He doesn't like being told what to do and he really, really doesn't like it when their cousins take their teasing too far with Doug (which, again, is why he fights with Hap more than anyone else).
His birthday is August 23rd, which makes him a Virgo.
He knows how to sew.
He has no allergies unlike Doug who has the misfortunate of having dust and pollen allergies.
Li Shang Jr is Derek's best friend.
He helps the vks with their panic attacks quite often. He's quite good at it.
He and Doug are the closest to Snow White out of all the dwarves and their kids. Not that that's surprising.
Derek has twentyish direct cousins—Jane, Gordan, Gus, Sniffles, Nighty, Snot, Hap, Doc the Second, Crabby, Cheerful, Sleepy Jr, Snoozy, Bashful Jr, Shy, Gesundheit, Maddy/Madison, Snappy, Grouchy, Joy, Smiley, Giggles, Bossy/Unity, and Sneezy Jr.
But he also has a lot more extended family members other than his uncle's from his dad's family (look up the scrapped dwarves. He has alot of family lol).

Do you have any favorite Descendants headcanons?
Yes! This is absolutely a permission to share an absurd amount of them, right? (Say yes, please-)
Anyway. Canon is a suggestion and so is Rise timeline.
Uma and Harry have been married pretty much since Ben's coronation. They... Kind of got drunk along with every other Isle kid and decided to get married, as you do. It's legal. They don't remember a thing.
Neither does Harriet. CJ however knows and is just waiting for the best opportunity to tell her brother. The Lost Revenge crew also knows, mostly, but just assume that the Captain and first mate also know. Which would make sense.
The mother of the Hook siblings was a siren (that bloodthirsty type that lures sailors to their deaths) and Captain Hook was completely in love with her. He was also completely blind to all of her murder attempts.
As a result, the Hook kids think that murder is a love language. Like, yeah. Mama tries to kill papa from time to time. That happens. It works for them.
They are having fun.
As is Ursula. She watches Hook family drama (tm) as a telenovela and used to take baby Uma with her. This might or might not be how Uma and Harry met.
None of the Isle kids knows how death works. This would be because Hades decided that Isle kids and their still-alive siblings are too much headache to deal with, especially while on vacation, when technically, the Underworld is a problem of his younger brothers.
CJ Hook treats the Underworld like a bus station. Hades has resigned about when she was ten and now lets her take the Cerberus for a walk from time to time.
The Isle kids regularly try to make s'mores over Hades' hair. The only one who ever got Hades to cooperate was Anthony Tremaine, while looking after his baby cousins, who really wanted the s'mores. That would be because he actually asked. (And Hades felt his suffering on a deep personal level. Younger siblings.)
The Tremaines have the only neutral territory on the Isle. You see, if you fight by the Tremaines, you'll get kicked out of the hair salon and you won't get your hair done. This threat works because the Isle kids are vain as fuck.
Anthony Tremaine/Harriet Hook/Ginny Gothel. Mutually destructive threesome.
Audrey Rose and Anthony Tremaine are vibing. They bonded over fashion, their horrible grandmothers, and Auradon's disaster finances.
Audrey is generally vibing with the pirates, as she deserves.
Aro ace Audrey Rose.
Freddie and Celia Facilier and Marya Rasputin are basically half-demons from a different end of the spectrum.
Freddie can walk absolutely quietly even with all the gold trinkets CJ gives her.
Uma and Freddie wore ninety percent of the Isle gold at some point or another. The last ten percent is still locked in EQ's vault and the Isle kids are very much trying to break in.
Uma just. Feeds people to the sharks. That's a thing that happens. She also doesn't necessarily bother to kill her hostages before that. (Harry very much supports this. He might drag some hostages to her, too. Murder is a love language and all that.)
Claudine Frollo was adopted by the Hook siblings and is a part of the Lost Revenge crew. She is a bitter bitch and I love her.
She is also wholeheartedly convinced that the Lost Revenge is a cult, and she is right.
The de Vil cousins couldn't give less of a fuck to the rivarly between Uma and Mal.
Evie has already mentally killed Cruella in about forty six different ways. She is counting.
De Vils, Hearts and Hooks argue over who wears red the best. They can and will kill over it, but that's fine. Death is a social construct.
Fairy Godmother sealed off Jane's magic.
On the Isle, Mal misses the concept of wings, freedom, something that she has never had.
Evie has social anxiety due to ten years spent alone with her mother.
Mal can be controlled by a laser pointer. As can CJ. And Harry. Yzla and Zevon. Marya Rasputin. Begrudging Uma and Harriet. Technically, Claudine Frollo, who will start praying and backing off and will never touch the surface with the laser dot again. De Vils and Faciliers know this and they are having a blast. (Carlos will just shine a laser pointer away from him when he wants to work on his trinkets and it works.)
Alice accidentally fell down the rabbit hole on the Isle and consequently kidnapped a kid. That kid happened to be a twin sister of CJ Hook. (Alice and Ally's ages don't match. This works ✨)
There is a reason why there are three schools on the Isle. The reason is: „You could never pay me enough to deal with more than one sibling at time, now fuck off.“
If I remember anything else, I'll add?

Interlude - Rewrite POYW - Part 6 - new buildings and snowball fights
Tumblr media Tumblr media
=
-Six months later(February 2017)-
Diego stood in front of a work in progress building that was supposedly being turned into a shelter for vks that needed a warm place to stay and regular meals that they couldn't get on their own. His eyes drifted to the yet-to-be-hanged sign next to the open door where workers inside built the kitchens and bathrooms.
‘Carlos’ House - A safe place for lost kids - Auradon department of the isle’
Around a month ago King Ben and his councilor; Evie, had announced an on-Isle shelter for anyone that needed it, with two sections of the building, one for adults and one for minors. Fully furnished with fresh food, a handful of bedrooms that could house up to 10 people, multiple bathrooms, two full kitchens, and two snack kitchens, and isle hired guards and caretakers that would be screened and recruited by Harriet's crew.
Some of the building was finished so several homeless or starving VK’s had already moved into the empty rooms. Some of Harriet's crew had taken charge of guarding the building, keeping an eye on the Auradon workers to keep the younger kids safe while also keeping anyone dangerous out.
Diego felt a hint of pride looking at the sign, his little cousin, someone many thought would never amount to anything more than a slave for his mother, was now in Auradon, inventing and creating in Auradon and establishing a shelter for his fellow vks still on the isle.
Diego brushed his thumb over the walkie talkie in his hand, Carlos has sent it to him with one of the workers, something about Diego being an ear on the inside to keep track of things the isle needed and to help spread any news about more vks coming off the isle at some point.
Diego pocketed the device and turned on his heel, walking back to his apartment through the market, eyes drifting over the new posters detailing the upcoming -yet to be scheduled- VK day, where six VKs would be chosen and head to Auradon. It was a good year from now, the so-called CPS that would be ‘in charge’ of the new vks would apparently take the longest and both that and the Auradon shelter had been required for Ben to get the council to approve the new transfer plan.
Diego pushed open the gate to his apartment building and hurried inside, night was falling and even after everything king Ben had implemented onto the isle it still wasn’t safe to be out at this time. Diego walked into his apartment and locked the door behind him, tossing his keys and the walkie-talkie onto his couch.
He sighed and walked into his room, flopping against his bed and buried his face in his pillows. Just two days ago, the rotten four, as they used to be called on the isle before they left, had visited the isle to see how everything was going. And he had seen Carlos, no longer the short and scarily skinny tween, but an almost fully grown young man. Carlos had only been in Auradon for just a little more than a year but he was thriving, he was stronger, taller, and much more confident than he was before.
And Diego couldn’t help but be a little proud. When Carlos had seen Diego, he had rushed over, whispering to him as if it was a secret he was about to tell.
‘when the applications are sent here, fill one out, you’ll be my pick’ Diego pushed down the smile on his lips at the memory, it was nice to know that Carlos hadn’t forgotten him.
So maybe in a year, he would be joining Carlos in Auradon, both finally away from Carlos’ insane mother.
-
Evie overlooked the file that Yen Sid had pulled out for the young daughter of Dr.Facilier, Celia. Dizzy had requested from all of them that Celia be one of the next off, saying that she had promised her friend that she would get Celia off the isle as soon as she could.
And Evie had told Dizzy she would do her best. But unfortunately, it would be up to the council for Celia to be approved, and Evie hoped that Celia wouldn't try to be smart on her application. But again, the applications wouldn’t be sent for a good two years from now, so Auradon and the isle had a long time to wait until they could celebrate ‘vk day’ which was Doug's idea, he had said that the vks still on the isle deserved a day for themselves for waiting so long, and the vks in Auradon agreed, eight months was too long for Harriet and the others, two and a half was overdoing it.
It just sucked that Ben had no choice but to go with the council's requests, and it would be 2019 at least before they got the next round off. It was only thanks to Ben and (y/n) that the vks still on the isle knew that they in Auradon weren't abandoning them.
There was a new shelter being built in the name of Carlos’ for any kids or adults that needed a warm place to sleep, it also served as a place to keep track of the kids that took and turned in applications when the time came. Dizzy, around a week ago, had brought up the idea of possibly letting the older adults apply for Auradon as well, as some of them were long since reformed before the isle. (y/n) had said that Dizzy meant her aunt Anastasia, and told them about the baker and the alternate timeline sequels of Cinderella’s stories.
Which had confused the hell outta them but…considering (y/n) was from a world where they were all characters and had actors, they couldn’t argue with her about it.
Evie sighed and set down Celia's file, standing and stretching to get the tightness out of her muscles from sitting at the table for so long. She grabbed her jacket and shrugged it on, it was mid-February in Auradon so while the deep winter had passed it was still snowing and cold as hell outside.
Evie walked out of her room and made her way outside, smiling as she saw Dizzy, the Smee twins, Sammy, CJ, Harriet, and the rest of the vks (other than Gil) along with Doug, Ben, and (y/n) all having a snowball fight, (y/n) in Harry's arms as he lifted her out of the way of a snowball from Jay.
“Evie, heads up!” Evie squealed and ducked as a snowball soared past just where her head was a moment ago, CJ wincing as Carlos and Mal glared at her “Sorry! I was aiming for Harry!”
“I’m over here yeh lame-ass!” Harry cackled, dodging another snowball from Jay and grabbing your hand to bolt to the next snow fort Dizzy and CJ had made before the battle had started.
Evie laughed as she stood up and ran towards Mal and Ben, pulling Mal in front of her as a snowball from Harriet came speeding towards her “E!” Mal squeaked, wiping her shoulder and chest of the snow and turning towards Evie “No fair! No using your teammates as shields!” Evie laughed and stuck out her tongue, crouching down to scoop up snow.
“vks don’t fight fair M~! you said it yourself!” Evie then screamed as Mal squished a snowball into the side of her head, her blue hair trimmed with white “Hey!!”
“Payback!” Mal cackled, spinning on her heel and dodging another ball from Harriet then sending one back, pouting as Harriet just stepped to the side and the ball hit Sammy in the face. “oh come on-GAH!” (y/n) chucked a ball straight at Mal and hit her in the face, sending Mal to the ground. The snow flurried around Mal, almost creating a blanket on her from the thick frost. “really?”
Ben held in his laugh and lifted Mal out of the snow, holding her into his side as he dived behind another snow fort. “Ben” Mal faked a weak cough, holding her hand out towards Ben “you must…avenge my death…Bleh” Mal ‘died’ and slumped against Ben, closing her eyes and sticking her tongue out the corner of her mouth.
“Nooooo” Ben dramatically yelled out, a smile on his face as he let Mal slip off his chest. He stood, a snowball in each hand “revenge!” Jay cackled as Ben was immediately pummeled by several snowballs from the other side of the battlefield, (y/n) catching herself on Harry as Ben flopped back into the snow “treason! You’ve killed the king!”
“False! Dizzy is king now! She threw the last ball that hit you!” Harry cackled, lifting Dizzy by her armpits and holding the giggling teen in the air “all hail king Dizzy!”
Evie covered her mouth to stop the loud ‘guffaw’ from bursting, leaning on Carlos to prevent herself from falling “all hail king Dizzy!” Jay and Carlos echoed, throwing their hands forward and mock bowing at Dizzy, who was still giggling in Harry's grip.
“Fore!” Jay looked to the side and yelped, a snowball slamming directly into his face and he fell back into the snow “I said fore!” Gil laughed, Jane at his side giggling behind her periwinkle snow mittens.
“there yeh are!” Harry yelled, setting Dizzy down and gesturing for Gil to join the side of the pirates “come on, we need’a tank!”
“don’t you have (y/n)?” Jane laughed, sitting down on a bench nearby as Gil jogged over to Harry and quickly made a large snowball. Gil and Harry looked at each other at Jane's mention of you, then looked to (y/n), who was in the middle of hurling another snowball at the opposite team. They shrugged and Gil continued to make a large snowball
“(y/n)’s tha’ sharpshooter, Gil’s the tank” Harry grinned, cackling as Gil launched the foot wide snowball at the other side, completely decimating the small fort CJ had made and knocking her to the ground. “yeah!!!”
“Ow!” CJ groaned, shaking the snow off and crawling out of the battlefield “im done! Count me out!” she flopped into the snow a few feet away and took a few deep breaths as Gil launched another snowball at Carlos, knocking him to the ground.
“Dodgeball rules! You get hit you’re out, loser team makes hot chocolate for everyone!” Harriet called out, giving a sharp grin as everyone yelled in agreement.
Snowballs flew everywhere, Jane curling in on herself squealing as a few stragglers landed near her “not playing, not playing!”
“Jane!” Gil laughed, running toward her and picking her up bridal style, and running back to the battlefield, setting her behind the fort (y/n) and Harriet had reinforced “stay, I'll protect you” Jane giggled and swooned as Gil stood back up and launched a mid-sized snowball at Jay, hitting Jay square in the chest and getting him out. “got ya!”
“Not fair! You have (y/n) and Gil on your side!” Jay complained, Mal popped up, her eyes glowing green as several snowballs floated next to her. Jay laughed and grinned, running off to the bench where CJ and Ben sat. “ooooh! Yall are goin down!”
Mal threw her hand forward, the snowballs aiming for you but they hit the snow fort instead as you flipped behind it “Dang it! AH!” Dizzy chucked a snowball right at Mal and hit her in the face, marking the fae out “DANGNABIT!”
“Ha!” Dizzy cheered, throwing her hands into the sky, squealing as Evie sent back a snowball at Dizzy “Evieee!”
“Dizzyyy!” Evie mocked, a sharp grin on her lips as she tossed two more snowballs at Dizzy, the first missing and the second hitting Dizzy in the back “Gotcha~!”
Dizzy pouted and joined Mal, Jay, CJ, and Ben at the bench, cheering on her team as the fight continued. Now it was Evie, Carlos, Doug, and Sammy, vs Harry, (y/n), Gil, the twins, and Harriet.
It was all too easy.
Within moments Evie and the boys were pummeled by snowballs, all screaming in ‘pain’ as they fell into the snow. The twins rushed over to the other side, throwing their last few balls into their ‘dead’ brother's stomach. Sammy coughed at the impact and sat up, pulling the two into his chest and rolling around, cackling as the twins squealed with laughter.
“We win! Ya’ll gotta make the hot chocolate now!” (y/n) laughed out in victory, Harry pulling her into his side with a grin, hiding it in her hair.
Ben sighed and gestured back inside the dorms “come on, there's a closed patio with a fire pit, we can make smores too!” the twins and Dizzy gasped at that and rushed inside, Dizzy pulling Evie as the twins pulled their brother and Harriet with them.
Soon all 16 teens were inside the closed patio, the firepit roaring as Harry helped the twins roast their marshmallows, their whipped cream-covered hot chocolates still steaming on their seats behind them.
“I can't believe at one point we outnumbered you and we still lost!” Mal grumbled, taking a layer off her toasted marshmallow and eating it, putting the treat back over the fire to let it toast again.
“that’s what happens when you have both (y/n) and Gil on the same side, (y/n) throws ninety-five miles per hour and Gil throws meteors, it was their game as soon as they picked their side” Ben laughed, handing Mal a hot chocolate in her glittery green and purple mug and sitting down next to her, sipping from his gold and blue mug.
“Then next time have Harry on your team to make sure you also have (y/n) and Gil” CJ snickered, leaning into Harriet's side as she chewed on her freshly made smore, gram cracker crumbs on the corners of her mouth.
(y/n) let out a small snort, leaning back in her seat and lifting her feet, setting them on Harry's shoulder as he helped Skipper set his marshmallow onto the gram cracker. “Maybe, who knows, I might play the other team next time~” Harry turned to look at (y/n), giving her a look “What? Don’t look at me like that? Just because I love you don't mean I won't kick your ass in a snowball fight” Harry rolled his eyes with a fond smile and pushed (y/n)s boots off his shoulder, ignoring the pout (y/n) was aiming at the back of his head.
“well, I’d say today was a good day” Ben sighed, sipping at his coco again and smiling as the group agreed with him, Harry standing from helping the twins and sitting next to (y/n), (y/n) slipping under his arm and laying her head on his chest.
Ben let out a content sigh and leaned back against his seat, closing his eyes and letting his head hit the headrest. Getting more vks to Auradon was going to take almost two years from now but for now, knowing the recent six and the original six were enjoying their life free from the isle was enough.
He couldn’t wait to share it with all the vks in the future.

Fairgame Week 2020
Day 5, hurt/comfort. We have this art piece and a fic to go with it.
Art: line art by @bosiphas, color by @data-plays-viola
Fic: written by @bosiphas and @data-plays-viola, edited by @lameclub
Fic under the cut!
It had been another long day. Another day of not knowing if Qrow was safe. Or at the very least, where he was. The General had told him about the letter Qrow had sent,  loosely explaining what had happened in Mistral. General Ironwood had appreciated the update, but all Clover could care about was the news that he was on his way to Atlas. But that had been nearly a month ago. The letter had said they were taking the train to Argus, they would’ve arrived already if that was the case. Clover didn’t want to think about it, but something must’ve happened. And that worry tore him up inside. He could barely pay attention to the angry rambles of the General as they made their way through the halls of Atlas Academy.
“I swear if I have to sit through one more council meeting like that–”
Clover walked behind the General, going through the motions, letting Winter respond to his agitated comments about the council meeting that Clover also hadn’t paid any attention to. But their attention shifted when Penny, who had also been in attendance, gasped.
“Yay! You’re here!” Penny chimed.
Clover turned around to see who Penny had addressed and nearly lost all composure. “Ruby, Yang?” Clover’s attention quickly shifted once more though, as he saw Qrow behind the group of kids accompanying his nieces. “Qrow.” Clover breathed out in relief and anticipation.  He was here and in once piece. Thank the gods.
As Clover took a few steps forward to meet his family, he finally processed that they were all tied up in bolo ties. “What -” Clover put it together in his head. His team had been called in response to a disturbance down in Mantle after a stolen airship had been spotted. He’d have to give them trouble for that, they’d met Qrow on several occasions.
“Winter.” Weiss Schnee stepped out from behind Ruby, looking directly at her sister.
“Anyone wanna give us a hand with these?” A red-headed girl popped up beside her with her tied hands raised and wiggling her fingers.
“Who’s idea was it to cuff not only my husband but my nieces too?” Clover glared at the guards menacingly.
“You have 10 seconds to take those off before I start hurting you,” she threatened the two guards who had escorted the group to them. They quickly obeyed and darted to each of the kids taking their bolo ties off from their wrists, apologizing while doing so.
Clover walked to his nieces first, giving them both a quick kiss on the forehead, but wasting no time to continue on to Qrow. As he approached his husband, he could see it in his eyes. Something had happened, something bad. Clover looked down at Qrow’s hands and started to undo the bolo ties. “I’m glad you’re safe,” he spoke under his breath, letting the restraints fall to the floor. With Qrow’s hands free, they instantly entwined and Qrow squeezed Clover’s hand. “Same here.”
“Please, step into my office.” General Ironwood invited the group to follow him.
As everyone hesitantly followed the General with Winter and Penny, Clover and Qrow stayed behind for only a moment.
“We got your letter that you were coming by train 3 weeks ago. What happened?”
Qrow went quiet, a lot had happened. “We can talk later,” he spoke in a subdued tone. He couldn’t start talking about it now, there was too much. And if he was being honest with himself, there were things he wasn’t sure about telling Clover. Like what had happened at that farm, or what they had learned before it. But as much as Qrow didn’t want to, he would. Clover was the one person he’d never keep anything from.
As they headed into the meeting, only shortly behind the rest of the group, Clover went to stand up next to General Ironwood at his desk with Penny and Winter, though wanting to stay next to his family. Clover could still barely focus, only wanting to be alone with Qrow. He started to zone out, simply watching Qrow.
All of a sudden, Winter’s raised voice caught his attention.
“You stole an Atlas airship? What were you thinking?! You might’ve been shot down! How unbelievable irresponsibl–” Weiss interrupted her sisters yelling by hugging her.
Clover turned to Ruby. “You stole an Atlas airship?”
Ruby looked chagrined. “Yeah...”
“I don’t know if I should be appalled or impressed,” Clover smirked. His nieces had grown up since he last saw them. He wasn’t sure if what had made them grow up was a good thing, however.
Ruby started laughing and ran over to hug Clover tight. “I missed you,” she said into his chest.
“I missed you too, Sweetheart.” He exchanged a look with Yang who stayed put but silently expressed that she also missed him. When they parted, Ruby went back to where she had been standing before.
“But I cannot believe–” Winter said in a raised voice, startling Clover– “that you allowed this to happen, Qrow.”
“Try stopping my nieces from doing anything,” Clover said, raising an eyebrow.
“Your sister, too. This whole crew is unstoppable when they set their minds on something,” Qrow chimed in. He then turned to Ironwood. “Speaking of which, we have some important information for you that’s, uh… confidential.” At his last words, Qrow pointedly looked at Winter and Penny.
“Oh, is it about the Relics?” Penny said in an innocently curious voice.
“Or perhaps the Winter Maiden?” Winter followed in a decidedly snide tone.
Qrow’s eyes flitted to Clover before settling back on Ironwood. “You told them?”
Clover wanted to ask him the same question. These kids now knew about Salem, his nieces knew about Salem. His mind wandered again as the General talked about the Relic of Knowledge and his plan for Amity Colosseum, noting the skeptical look Qrow had when the General had brought out the lamp. What had happened since the Fall of Beacon? What had happened for Qrow to tell these kids about Salem. He hadn’t seen Qrow since the Fall, Clover hadn’t even known if he was safe, and now here he was with a group of kids, one who was even younger than Ruby. The few letters Clover had sent, Qrow hadn’t received since in Qrow’s last letter he expressed the same sentiment of hoping Clover was safe and in Atlas. Neither of them had known if the other was okay for such a long time, and Clover, although relieved, was anxious to be alone with him.
After the meeting ended, Qrow and Clover instantly found each other out in the hall.
“Hey, Lucky Charm.” Qrow’s voice right next to him startled him out of his thoughts. “Lien for your thoughts?”
“Just thinking about you,” Clover replied with a smirk as they followed behind the kids. Upon entering the small open space near the Generals office, they were met with the wall of chatter from a voice Clover recognized as Marrow’s.
“So, that was the second time I got banned. Then there was the third time when–”
“Marrow,” Clover called out in an authoritative tone.
Marrow jumped. “Hey!” Marrow turned around sheepishly, knowing they had messed up. “We’re so sorry for the mix up down in Mantle.”
Suddenly, Elm pushed past Marrow and went to shake Ruby’s hand. “I feel so bad, honestly! If we had recognized you sooner, we’d be laughing over a hot meal right now.” She vigorously shook the young girl's hand with a strength she wasn’t aware of.
“I understand,” Ruby replied in a shaky voice, letting her arm go weak as Elm finally stopped shaking it. “It can get pretty heated out in the field, and you were following orders.”
“I mean, you could’ve asked us questions first before cuffing us.” Jaune scratched the back of his neck while shrugging his shoulders.
“And you could have not stolen an Atlas airship,” Marrow snarked back.
“What they’re trying to say–” Clover interrupted before his team could dig themselves too big of a hole– “is that they’re sorry, and they’re excited to work with you.”
“Yeah!” Harriet said. “I’m looking forward to seeing exactly what you kids can do.”
“Not everything is a competition, Hare,” Vine said, exasperated.
Penny came up beside the group, “C’mon! Let me show you around campus,” she offered in a chipper voice.
“Alright, kiddos,” Qrow directed to the group. “Go have fun. Clover and I are going to head to bed.”
“Old man,” Yang teased, sticking her tongue out.
“Love you, Uncle Qrow! You too, Uncle Clover,” Ruby said as she hugged them both.
“Night Ruby, Yang.” Clover waved to Yang as Ruby stepped out of the hug.
“Don’t get into too much trouble,” Qrow said as the kids followed after Penny, all of them giving a wave to him as they left the area.
As Qrow and Clover walked past his office, Ironwood stepped out. “Qrow,” he called to him. Qrow turned to face Ironwood as he continued to speak. “I meant it when I said it was good to see you again.”
“Uh, yeah. You too,” Qrow replied awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck.
Ironwood stepped forward and hugged Qrow, who was confused at first, but then rolled his eyes with a smile and patted Ironwood’s back.
“Especially because now my best operative can be a little less… distracted in the field,” Ironwood said with a smirk, parting from Qrow.
Clover sputtered, a slight blush gracing his cheeks.
“Goodnight you two,” Ironwood said as he walked away from the couple.
“So, distracted, huh?” Qrow teased with a smirk as they started walking towards Clover’s room.
“I didn’t hear from you for weeks after a train ride that should have taken a couple of days, tops,” Clover replied, still blushing. “And… before that, after the fall, I tried sending letters but you never got them so I didn’t get a reply...” Clover paused. “I was worried.”
Qrow dropped the teasing and reached out to take Clover’s hand in his. “I’m sorry. After everything, there was… a lot happening. I wanted to send you something sooner than the one I sent Ironwood, but…”
Clover shook his head. “It’s okay. We were both busy. I had my hands full with the General, and you–” Clover smiled sincerely– “had your hands full with all those kids.”
Qrow returned the smile and they dropped into a comfortable silence, holding hands and occasionally bumping shoulders as they walked to Clover’s room. When they finally reached his door, the pair slipped in.
As the door shut behind them, Clover quickly pounced on Qrow, wrapping him in a tight hug. Qrow immediately wrapped his arms around Clover just as tightly. They stood there for several minutes, unmoving, and enjoyed the other’s warmth. It had been too long since they’d seen each other. Before everything, they did have a long-distance relationship. Qrow was on the missions from Ozpin all the time, and Clover was needed in Atlas, but they’d still be apart for no longer than a few months before they’d see each other again.
Clover squeezed Qrow a little tighter before parting from him slightly, only enough so they could be face to face. “A year is too long to be away from you, Pretty Bird.” He smiled softly.
Qrow leaned forward at the endearing name, resting his forehead on Clover’s shoulder with a heavy sigh.
Clover hugged him back in tighter, his eyebrows arching up in worry. “What happened?” he asked in a whisper.
“A lot.” Qrow pulled away from Clover and walked past him. “The kids know about everything now. I don’t know how I feel about them being a part of this, they’re still kids.” He looked out the window of Clover’s room, a stern look on his face.
Clover watched Qrow intently. “How did they find out?”
“Salem knows about Ruby, about her eyes.” Qrow looked down to the floor, thinking of Summer. “Ruby knows, too.”
Clover stayed silent, but his mind wandered to the same person, Ruby’s mother.
Qrow sighed again. “Ruby was heading to Mistral, with a couple of those kids. I was watching over them while they traveled – I didn’t want my semblance to get in the way of anything…” Qrow turned back towards Clover who still stayed silent but frowned at Qrow distancing himself because of his semblance.
Qrow continued. “But then Salem sent one of her lackeys after them, Ruby specifically.” Qrow paused for a moment, looking at Clover to watch his reaction. “Tyrian Callows, scorpion Faunus. He went after Ruby, so I stepped in. He, uh… lost his tail.”
Clover’s eyes widened. “You cut off his tail?”
“No, Ruby did.”
Clover once again wasn’t sure if he should be impressed or concerned. “Why?” he questioned. His niece was a fierce fighter, but she wasn’t cruel. She’d have a reason why.
Qrow hesitated at answering the question. He knew it would upset him. “He… grazed me with his stinger.”
Clover froze, his entire body tensing up. “...You were poisoned? Where?” He took a couple of steps toward Qrow.
Qrow could see the concern splashed over Clover’s face. “Across my stomach, right under my ribs,” he spoke in a hushed tone as Clover continued forward, closing the short distance between them.
Clover looked down at Qrow’s stomach, seeing the stitching in his shirt where he'd gotten cut through his armour. “Can I… can I see?” Clover looks up at Qrow, his voice shaking slightly.
Qrow frowned knowing that the state of the scar would show Clover just how dire the situation had been. But he showed him anyway, undoing the buttons to open his shirt. As he pulled the shirt open, revealing the scar, Clover sucked in a breath. The scar extended from the center of his abdomen to under his right ribs. The white scar tissue was still raised, and the area around it had small veins of white extending from the scar, most likely from the poison.
Clover clenched his jaw as he raised his hand to Qrow’s stomach. He brushed his thumb across the scar. “It healed poorly… How far were you from Mistral?” Clover looked up from the scar to Qrow who was watching his husband's hand.
“They were passing through Oniyuri when he attacked, but I don’t remember how long it was before we got to Mistral. I… Ruby told me I was really out of it after the poison set in. I barely remember anything.” Qrow pursed his lips together as he met Clover’s worried gaze.
Clover knew what that meant. Qrow had almost died, Ruby was almost kidnapped, and he wasn’t there to protect his family. He looked back down at the gruesome scar. “Qrow, I–”
“Hey, I’m alright. Ruby’s alright.” Qrow placed a gentle hand on Clover’s forearm of the hand that was still touching his scar.
Clover looked back up to Qrow, his eyes fixed onto his husband’s. “I just… I can’t lose you.” Clover raises his hand to Qrows cheek, brushing it slightly, before leaning his forehead onto Qrow’s.
Qrow shut his eyes and squeezed Clover’s arm. “You won’t,” Qrow promised softly, just loud enough for Clover to hear.
As they stood there, Clover started to realize, that was before they’d made it to Mistral, and Ruby had mentioned a train crash earlier. Something else had happened.
“What happened on the train?”
Qrow tensed at the question. The train crash that led to the truth about Ozpin. The truth Ruby isn’t sharing with Ironwood. Qrow wanted to tell Clover everything, secrets weren’t something he liked to keep. Hell, he’d hated the years he kept the Salem secrets from Clover before he threatened Ironwood to tell him the truth about Salem or he would. But this one, Ruby was right to play it close to the chest with Ironwood, considering the state of Mantle when they arrived. He trusted Clover with every inch of his being, but Clover being told the truth would put him in a terrible position. He’d want to tell Ironwood, out of obligation, but he wouldn’t, to protect his family first, and Qrow knew it. He didn’t want to do that to him.
“I… relapsed. Hard.” Qrow clenched his jaw, guilt washing over him remembering what had happened at that farm. Those Grimm had done a number on him, he hadn’t been that bad since Summer had passed, or since his tribe days. And as much as he knew Clover was supportive and understanding, anxiety built up in his chest. He felt like he had let him down like he’d let the kids down. Before Clover could respond, Qrow went on to explain further. “After Beacon, I started again, but then the train crash happened and Oz… disappeared, we got stuck at this farm.” Qrow paused but didn’t look at Clover, who only patiently listened. “It was abandoned, and these Grimm were under the settlement. They… I’d never seen anything like them. They drain your will to live and it was almost too late before we… before the kids realized. If it wasn’t for them, I don’t know what would’ve happened.” Qrow withheld that he knew he wouldn’t be alive if not for the kids.
Clover understood what he’d meant anyway. Yet another time he wished he’d been there to protect them. He could also tell there was something more to the story. He knew Qrow extremely well, he could tell when he wasn’t telling the whole truth. There was a lot of that when it came to Ozpin. Clover was just surprised it was happening again. But he trusted Qrow, and he knew how much he hated keeping secrets, especially from him. He also knew Qrow would refuse to lie, in any situation. So, he wouldn’t push any further. Qrow would tell him when he was ready.
Clover opened his mouth to offer words of comfort, but Qrow interjected before he could say anything. “I-I stopped already, though,” he clarified, wanting to make sure Clover knew that he was already back on recovery.
Clover gave Qrow an endearing smile and pulled him into another tight hug. “I’m sorry you had to deal with all of that on your own. I can’t imagine how difficult that must have been for you,” Clover spoke softly in Qrow’s ear.
Qrow could feel his body relax as Clover spoke to him. Gods what had he done to deserve someone like him? Qrow let himself melt into the hug, burying his face in Clover’s neck and feeling tears well up in his eyes. It had been so long since he was able to just let his guard down, and he could always count on Clover to make him feel safe enough to do so.
“I’m glad you’re safe. The girls too.” Clover squeezed Qrow before releasing Qrow from the hug so he could cradle his face between his palms. “I’m so proud of you, Pretty Bird.”
Qrow’s eyes drifted to the ground, but a small blush washed over his cheeks. His eyes slowly tracked back up as Clover held his position, waiting. “Thank you...” he whispered.
Clover pressed a gentle kiss to Qrow’s cheek. “I’m just glad you’re safe, here with me. I love you, Qrow.”
“I love you too, Clover.”

@belovedstars sent  might we have hook’s Thoughts and Opinions on his children 🎤
Tumblr media
oh boy, what a question. and it’s the kind of question that has been causing me grief since i set up this blog. hook, in general, has a very negative opinion on children. he simply doesn’t like them. especially boys, after all his trouble with boys, it’s easy to see why. on the other hand, as a pirate it’s easy to be superstitious when it comes to girls too. women aren’t meant to be brought on board a pirate ship. so while, in theory, he prefers his daughters over his son he’s also of the opinion that their place isn’t on the ship but on the shore.
this leads to some interesting problems. because harry has been nothing but a thorn in his side. he had been genuinely excited once at the prospect of having someone to train and raise in his image, raise to be a captain etcetera etcetera.
except, point one, he hates male children. and point two, harry is hardly the ideal. for hook there are a few important aspects he’d want in his children. a quick wit, a classical education, a propensity for the family trade, obedience and good form. and harry doesn’t seem to have any concept of the latter two (and depending on headcanons, often not the education aspect either, though i would say hook is the kind of person to push his children to learning, as someone who attended one of the most prestigious colleges in england).
despite hook’s anger issues and his inclination towards violence he does like to focus on having good form, he’s a classic gentleman and he holds himself as such and he holds his children to the same standards. harry’s lack of good form and unwillingness to listen to hook in all things makes him an unsuitable heir. add to that his relationship with uma and you have a recipe for hook in a bad mood. harry chooses to follow around someone smaller than him, someone who, by all accounts, is significantly weaker. but the kicker is that harry is choosing to follow anyone around at all. sidekicks are useless is a lesson he has long since drummed into his children. you can’t count on anyone but yourself. and then harry goes and contents himself with being first mate on a ship run by a woman who isn’t even of a pirate lineage and it’s pretty much an affront.
adding to this the canon of harry having been working for hook in his shop and stealing from the register, hook has essentially disowned harry. he doesn’t care for him, probably never will. to add insult to injury harry looks like hook himself, his eyes and hair a constant reminder of a youthful james hook. and he carries his father’s anger issues with him too. harry reminds hook far too much of himself to be comfortable with. and it’s all the bad bits, with none of the good. if hook sees himself as having any redeemable features, he can find none of them in harry.
on the opposite end of the spectrum, harriet is perfect at pretty much all of the things he wants in a child. she’s strong willed, self sufficient, a born leader. she seems to understand the concept of good form and- at least while she’s young- of behaving in hook’s presence. on top of this, she’s spent her entire life doing him the fantastic service of keeping his other children out of his line of sight unless he wants to see them.
harriet would be the perfect heir, if not for the one small issue of having been born a girl. and as previously mentioned, sailors and pirates have an antiquated view of women even stepping on board a ship, never mind captaining one. so harriet is somewhat relegated even in hook’s mind to the role of ‘primary caregiver’ and not much else. he sees her talent for leading, for swordsmanship, for piracy and there is some part of him that is proud of what she’s accomplished because it’s what he’d want for his children. for them to have their own ships and crew. for them to have a life of their own, worthy of the name of hook.
so while he doesn’t particularly like any of his children on a normal day, harriet is probably the favourite growing up, at least until she starts being confident enough to talk back. to throw his life back in his face. to stand up for her siblings. and while he’s still relatively pleased with the ferocity of her anger, he doesn’t want it turned on him. i wouldn’t  go so far as to say he loves her, but he does internally acknowledge that her actions can bring something other than shame to the hook name where his other two children are failing miserably.
calista jane, being the youngest, is something of a sore subject. he didn’t really raise her, harriet did most of that. canonically, though, he shared with her stories of his exploits and tales of adventure. and she wants that too. which would be admirable as a goal, but once again he is lumbered with a child who doesn’t fit into his idea of what a good heir should be. cj is loud, she’s confident, she deliberately causes a ruckus wherever she goes and always leaves some kind of mess in her wake. she barely seems to care for anyone or anything but herself and her wants, and though it’s clear she got that from her father there’s something about her that strikes him as being closer to his worst enemy than she is to him.
she’s brash, mischievous, self-centred, adventurous and loves to swing around in the rigging as if she could fly. she’s a leader who won’t take no for an answer, who always places herself in charge no matter what. and when hook sees her acting like this, it’s as if the very ghost of pan has come back to haunt him. she’s the worst parts of his history following him even onto the isle of the lost- and he cannot escape her. she might outwardly want to be more like her father, but he already knows what she is, who she is. this keeps him on edge around her, more than anything.
hook does not hate his children, though they reflect parts of him and his past that he does not care to be reminded of. he doesn’t like them either. they are a constant reminder of his own weaknesses, his own frail humanity, and the constant passage of time outside of neverland. but they are still his children. they represent his name, his legacy- and he will do anything he can to protect that legacy. from stringing up people who hurt them to trying to bring them back in line when they’re out of it. hook will always want what’s best for himself, and in some instances that means aligning himself with his children. he remains forever trapped between wishing they had stayed at an age where they didn’t argue with him, and wishing they’d grow faster so that he no longer has to see them anymore.
when things are good he is capable of being good. he will teach them how to play piano, he will read passages of literature, show them how to use a sword or tie a knot. he is capable of it. but when things are bad, when he looks at them and sees nothing but the demons of his past coming back to haunt him, then is capable of true anger and blinding hatred- not aimed at them, but at himself. he just cannot see the difference. this is where they experience violence by his hand (or hook) and heated words. and the longer he spends trapped on the isle, the deeper he spirals into his own head and the more his children appear like haunting demons instead of human beings he helped create and shape. the closer he gets to hating them for existing.

The Good, The Bad, and The Dirty: RWBY Vol7 Ep11
Tumblr media
How can an episode with such potential be executed in the most basic way possible?
Tune in to find out
Overall rating: 3/10.💀
So, for those of you who are wondering, I didn’t write a review for the previous episodes because I was busy and also because I wasn’t really much into them. After praising the beginning episodes of the volume so much, it pains me that we’re here again: in the mediocre.
Remember back in volume 5 when the volume finale was slow, tedious and bad? Well, Toastyhat made an awesome edit of how a proper crew would execute a portion of the finale right. Today, I’m afraid we witnessed the same lack of narrative cohesion.
The Good:
The episode starts with a showdown between Ironwood and Watts. Contrary to popular belief, Watts didn’t turn himself into an android, he’s pure flesh and chaotic Sombra/Waluigi energy. I gotta say, the idea of using gravity and bullet count to increase the tension of the fight is a good idea, unfortunatelly, this section will be continued in The Bad. I just want to give credit where credit is due.
Also, after seeing so many survival documentaries recently, and listening to the song in the background, it was badass of James to injure his flesh arm to stop Watts. He’s 150% on this b*tch.
Next off, we got the two birds and the magical clover boi fighting against the serial killer and Orichimaru knock off aka Tyrian (I’m sorry, I will always see him as an Orochimaru knock off because of the tongue thing). The fight was well animated, choreograph, and seeing how these 3 characters used their moves and weapons in a creative way to handle Tyrian was nice.
I think it was obvious who was going to win in a 1V3 fight, but the question is still there: who is the scorpion crazy man gonna kill? Unless they break his tale, the possibility is still out there and it’s dumb.
As soon as Ironwood starts calling up everyone to base, I knew shit was gonna go sideways. It’s also important that the CRWBY didn’t show us what Ironwood saw. For those who thought about the relic being gone, then Atlas would’ve been gone; however, for those of us who thought it was going to involve Cinder and Neo, we are proven wrong shortly after. Cinder is playing on Ironwood’s fears to obtain the maidens powers and it seems very likely that the new maiden will possibly be Neo due to her whereabouts. Cont. On the Dirty section.
Next off, we have Ironwood’s breakdown, which I think was handled pretty well all together. It has been foreshadowed, the crumbs were leading us there, and after a couple of episodes, Yang and Blake’s betrayal plan bites them in the ass, as well as Team RWBY+JNOR+Qrow’s secret of Jinn. However, I want to express how much of a non betrayal it is: Ironwoods poor choice making lead him to a very dark path and everyone, especially Yang and Blake saved his ass from making everything worse.
However, Ironwood’s idea of doing the right thing is to only trust his judgement despite being proven that he can’t do things alone. I never defended his obvious choices or praised him as a hero or as a #protectIronDaddy squad member because I knew his authoritarian nature would inevitably lead him to the obvious insecure military man attitude he has.
On that aspect, I’m happy to know this was established previously and I reflected upon on my early reviews. His decision to arrest team RWBY and set his team up against them + Clover vs Robin and Qrow is reasonable and correct. However, I do have big points that I will criticize on The Bad section that rightfully piss me off.
The last thing this episode did properly was show us that Oscar is missing by the end with a proper cliffhanger.
The Bad:
Just as I said in the intro: I’m afraid the fight between Ironwood and Watts loses its tension quickly. The fight feels slow and it seems like the song was slapped onto the background because the theme fits rather than the animation being built around the fight scene. The beat of the song doesn’t carry out the heavy punches and in the end it’s kind of distracting.
TBH, the fighting scene between the birds, the clover, and the scorpion was better paced and visually interesting. Why couldn’t they mix both to the song and done what Toasty did? That way the narrative of willing to give it all for the safety of kingdom would’ve hit harder and stood in even better contrast with the second half of the episode. On one side, u got your blood pumping as u cheer for ironwood and the others, while on the other you’re typing nononononoNONO ironwood why.
The next thing that bothered me was the scene were the Ace ups n the teams are called back by Ironwood, not only does the ship seem bigger and emptier, but we never cut to the othersI thought that for a moment the bees and there other Ace Ops were assigned another area before we cut to everyone in Ironwood’s office, WTF?! Was 1 more scene while Elm and Harriet spoke too much to ask?
Remember what I said about characters standing around doing nothing? HOW THE FUCK DO YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT YANG WAS OKAY WHILE SALEM WAS TORTURING HER LITTLE SISTER AND TRASH TALKING HER MOM!??????
The show does this time and time again: every moment where Yang could have a big reaction to something, she doesn’t. Every time Summer Rose is mentioned it’s to hit Ruby, not both of them, even if Yang suffered the loss of her mother and had to take her role raising Ruby. It’s obvious that the biggest impact is going to be Ruby since she never got to know her mother like others, but how the fuck can you not treat both sisters’ grief at their loss equally? Both are going to have different reactions and a different coping mechanisms, but they would still be there.
It’s not just the FNDM who forgets easily that Summer was Yang’s mom, it’s sees like the writers do as well. Yang wouldn’t even steal Ruby’s thunder, or the emotional impact of the scene in Ruby’s psyche if that’s what you’re afraid of.
Here we have Yang #AbandonmentIssues Xiao Long just letting her sister get berated and comforting her after? I call BS from here to the moon. We’ve seen Yang get triggered before, and there’s no way she wouldn’t have fired at Salem’s ghost.
Which dials back to my issue with the whole Ironwood, Ace Ops vs RWBY scene, are u telling me each of them waited their turn to talk and didn’t just start arguing until it hit the boiling point?
RWBY arguments always seem so empty and silent it doesn’t provoke anything in me but annoyance. How can the voice actors (specially Barb, holy shit that voice break) do such a good job with their lines and be given so little to work with? I understand Weiss being frightened, specially from where she comes, but Yang, Ruby, Blake, Arrow and Harriet?
BS From here to Pluto.
I’m happy Ruby got her phone out and called JN_R, but man, was that dissatisfying as fuck.
The Dirty:
Okay, I'm really not happy at Winter rushing to the maiden’s side because it’s obvious that her powers are going to get stolen. It’s just so ridiculously obvious that I do not understand after how many breaches Ironwood would even do that. NVM Winter. Hey, ever heard of a decoy? Didn’t think about ending the maiden’s life in a humane way to avoid her power getting stolen in the middle of a crisis?
Nah, maybe it’s just me.
--
Overall rating: 3/10. Too stilted for my liking,
A.N.: As expected people went and defended Willow. I will reiterate my position on her again and tell u to read the recent RWBY comic chapter. Willow is godawful and I do not stan at all.

Emmerdale Live and Organized - December 18, 2017
Welcome to the preshow! I haven’t been on twitter but don’t think I’m not trying to check in. It's just too much on there right now. I’ll try again soon. I’m currently looking for Christmas Spirit or something good to happen for the world or where I live. So, lets now have a silent prayer (or have a talk with the universe) that things will get better.
Anyway, let's start the countdown to A Robert Christmas! It won’t be long now!
Let’s crack on!
Moira’s Farm
I see the convo is still going on between Coira.
I think that is what Emma wanted. She wanted Moira to feel guilt over everything that happened between them. Even after she was gone. Damn Emma. DAMN.
Adam being a dick. As per usual. Sigh. I haven’t even been the biggest Victoria fan, but that was too much.
Adam treating Victoria like crap not because she doesn’t trust him when she has no need to trust him…sigh…BIG FREAKING SIGH.
The Café Crew
Bob. Laurel. Could you two be more obvious? Seriously.
Brenda can’t figure this out? Really?
Victoria doesn’t want to eat.
HEY! Everyone is back in action. Hey Sarah!
Faith hits on everyone. I love it.
Also, TOM IN THE VILLAGE. We are almost there! *Dances*
OH MY GOD FAITH! She is on a roll today!
“Diddle the spuds” – HA I’m five years old. That made me laugh.
SANDY SIGHTING. I love it and his Christmas sweater.
Laurel can’t lie, and Bob is ready to lie about everything. Yeah, this will end well.
So many people in one spot. I LOVE IT. SO MUCH CAN O WRONG!
Oh. Bob has already done that Brenda. *SNORT*
I want a Christmas Crown. I want more alcohol, so I don’t have to think about the worlds issues. *OFF TOPIC*
Is Laurel on his phone?!?! What is going on there?
Bernice’s Beauty Shop
KERRY! I LOVE HER! She is awesome.
I love seeing Kerry and Bernice’s relationship. They are just funny.
LYDIA! MY LOVE! YOU HAVE COME BACK TO ME! I love this. Early Christmas miracle in Emmerdale.
Oh right. The money storyline. I forgot. BERNICE BOOO. Give Lydia her money!
Wait. Why are you playing for rent at Laurels and the one at Sams? Sam should be paying for some of it too. Unless he is?
David’s Grocery
David in the Santa outfit. *eyebrow raise* What’s up?
Brenda asking Laurel over for a Christmas get together. *sweats a bit* OH BOY.
Bob feels something for Laurel Brenda. *snort*
The Pub Crew
A random Aaron sighting.
The Bartons are a mess. WELCOME TO EMMERDALE! *does a song and dance*
What an odd set up of the pub by the way. Adam, Ross, and Aaron in one shot while Cain holds Isaac looking for Moira. Odd framing. Means nothing just odd framing. Hmmmm.
Aaron will always be attached to Adam’s goodbye because of their relationship. So, bringing him in now isn’t surprising.
Well, Adam has been arrested.
I have something to say about Aaron advice to Adam about Victoria. He has screwed around on her so many times, he has broken her heart and gotten her into trouble before. However, Aaron is always the one to say to him...”Talk to her. Try again.” TAKE YOUR OWN FRACKING ADVICE AARON. Seriously.
Ross looks guilty. Which is a first? *character change*
Wow. How dramatic. By the way, Aaron seems shoehorned into this story now. I know Adam is his best friend and we are saying goodbye to Adam but…shoehorned.
The Church
Harriet is waiting for the other shoe to drop while Moira wants to run.
Harriet going into vicar mode. *Vicar of Dibley theme song plays in the distance*
Good talk between Moira and Harriet. * makes a face*
We are now feeling the after effects of ‘Who Killed Emma’ and now gearing up for ‘Goodbye Adam’. So, things are in a weird transition.
We could also argue that Adam might have to go first and then The Whites can follow. Fallouts finish out the January month. New beginnings in February.
Tom/Debbie
Money an issue again. Figures.
WHO ARE YOU TOM. WHOOOO ARE YOU?!?! Tate or King?
‘It’s Just Speculation!’
Tumblr media
As per usual: Stay off the message boards, respect each other’s opinions, breathe, reboot and eat a Snickers. If you want to talk theory or the show come on over to my twitter and Tumblr @AmandaJ718
Until next time, see you around in Emmerdale!

Can you please do the ship meme for audrey and Harriet
1.Whois the most affectionate?:
Audrey.
Harriethas lived most of her life believing that your “lovely wenches”are largely, or exclusively for sex, that there’s something in itfor them outside of your love and affection, and that they will “sailoff for better shores” at any given moment.
Tohave someone that will willingly stay by her side through the goodparts, legitimately and frequently seek out her company, and valueloyalty and fidelity towards Harriet specifically is new to her.
It’sstrange and confusing, but in the good sense.
2.Bigspoon/Little spoon?:
Harrietis big spoon, Audrey is little spoon.
Harrietis also generally very physically possessive of Audrey as a matter ofhabit, “keeping close to me what wandering hands might want to takefrom me.” Seeing as there’s few who’re willing to (eitheremotionally or physically) steal Audrey away from her, thisleads to a lot of Harriet casually being close to her, holding herhand, and draping herself over her like “I was the season’shottest new fashion accessory: mostly reformed descendant ofpirates.”
3.Mostcommon argument?:
Harriet’smore illegal, irresponsible, and self-destructive habits and personalissues, such as her alcoholism.
Audreyhas gotten her to make her drinking habit more “palatable anddecent” (and to her mild shame, into looking for relief at thebottom of the bottle every once in a while) with various rules andconditions that Harriet obliges most of the time. To name a few, there’s not drinking in certain public areas, always having adesignated driver to get her home safely and a means to lockeverything but her phone’s emergency calling feature when she’swasted, and changing her drink list to much more “refined”choices like cocktails, spirits, and fermented products that weren’tbrewed in a crusty, partially rotted out barrel with bilge water.
However, whether or not she’s musing over how stupidly named yetdelicious mudslides are, the end result is still Harriet goingabout doing stupid, dangerous, and/or irresponsible things whileunder the influence, frequently ending with her waking up somewheremysterious without her “peg leg.”
Fortunately,a knee-down prosthetic leg is very easy to find and bereturned to you when a large and noticeable component is a smallcutlass with Harriet’s name inscribed on the blade.
4.Favoritenon-sexual activity?:
R.O.A.R.training and traditional sword fighting for fun, with a bit ofunarmed self-defense and martial arts to mix things up. Since Audreywill “argue till the Blues find yer corpses pointing fingers ateach other like they were swords,” they solve most of their debatesand conflicts through combat.
5.Whois most likely to carry the other?:
Harriet,in spite of her having a prosthetic leg, and sometimes even withoutit, though Audrey complains loudly about the over-the-shoulder tacticthis requires, along her having to help balance Harriet while shehops around.
“I’msupposed to be able to swoon or faint while in your arms, notpitching my weight around to keep your balance!”
“D’youwant to get yer pretty little arse home, or d’you want the both ofus to sit here and wait for someone to get us un-marooned fromwherever the fuck we washed up now?!”
6.Whatis their favorite feature of their partner’s?:
Harriet’smuscular arms are Audrey’s favourite, for looking at, or especiallybeing handled with. “I got cannons lined up port and starboard, best ye think thrice ‘fore you fuck with me.”
Inpolite company, it’s Audrey’s lips, in impolite company, it’sher breasts; the courtesy and not incurring Audrey’s wrath beside,Harriet loves both equally, just in different ways.
7.What’sthe first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings forthe other?:
Harrietstarts being more specific and exclusive with her flirtations, seeingas “ye Auradon wenches like to feel like yer the only treasuresthat can catch a pirate’s eye.” There’s also floating about theidea to the other VKs in the hopes that she can subtly get themtalking about their relationships, as her pride does not let her askoutright.
Audreypanics, questions everything, makes serious, practical considerationsabout whether she would be able to let alone want to pursue arelationship with Harriet, and consumes far more piratefantasy romance novels than is probably healthy.
“Fuck’ssake, and here I thought us Villain Kids were a thirsty bunch...”when Harriet first learns of the shockingly prolific and variedmarket for “Villainous Romance” novels.
8.Nicknames?& if so, how did they originate?:
“(Me)Lovely Wench,” or just “(Me) Love,” for Audrey, “(Me)Treasure,” and “Yer Highness” are the ones Harriet uses forAudrey, the former three being her usual terms of endearment towardsher exes, and the last being because Audrey is actually royalty, andorders her around a lot like she was one of her loyal servants.
“Notentirely wrong, but not entirely right, either.”
“Honey,”“Sweetie,” “Darling,” and all the usual terms of endearmentbecause Audrey is the “Classic Princess” sort of girlfriend, butthanks to Harriet’s influence, she has also expanded her book toinclude “Fuck-Face,” “DPOS (Drunken Piece OfShit,” and the “Most Daring Pantie Raider in all ofAuradon.”
Ofthe latter half, the first is used verbally or textually, the secondis used as an acronym in informal written communication like text, and always spoken in full otherwise, and the third came fromHarriet’s habit of stealing Audrey’s panties after they have sex,and hiding it in places that forces her to wear or buy new ones, or“sail with a lovely breeze between her legs.”
9.Whoworries the most?:
Audrey.
It’spart and parcel with her neurotic tendencies, and her hyper-focus andcare on her public image and reputation. Harriet is much morelaissez-faire, but then again, she prides personal freedom first ofall and was always comfortable with the fact that she will bedespised and feared by pretty much everyone.
“It’skind of the dream of any Pirate Queen, to have that kind ofreputation preceding ye.”
10.Whoremembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant?:
Harriet,surprisingly enough.
Asa Captain who has no qualms getting down with the crew when it’s“all hands on deck,” she’s got a very strong memory forspecific details, things she needs to do, and what happened recently, largely because she and the rest of the Villain Kids move fast, inkand paper that you can write on is a precious commodity, and theyfrequently get soaked and unreadable in rain or particularly nastysea storms.
Pleasemind that after getting to Auradon, she’s gotten a lazy streakabout her now that she can piggyback on all these people who arealready paid to do things for her. Back on the Isle, she couldn’treally afford leaving a job unfinished because no one wants to do it,lest the entire section of Hook’s own ship she controlled at themoment collapse, or her siblings get the advantage in their wrestingit from her.
Hernewfound laziness and eagerness to “delegate” bothers Audrey, butshe doesn’t complain lest she appear hypocritical to Harriet.
11.Whotops?:
Dependson who “wins” during foreplay and/or the duel beforehand.
12.Whoinitiates kisses?:
Harrietdoesn’t really do the rest of the affectionate actions likepublicly or privately declare that she loves Audrey, but if there’sone thing she loves doing, it’s publicly “claiming” and showingoff her latest treasures.
13.Whoreaches for the other’s hand first?:
Harriet, again, with the possessive nature of hers, and her paranoia of peopletaking her “treasures.” It becomes a lot less about security andmore about affection as time goes on, though.
14.Whokisses the hardest?:
Audrey.
Thereis a LOT of repressed and much more blatant and aggressive sexualityinside her, and she was keen on doing most everything she could tokeep whatever boyfriend (or in this case, girlfriend) she had withher.
Herreasons have gotten less superficial and selfish over the years, butHarriet still has this thought at the back of her head, the one thattells her to watch for Audrey pulling out a knife while she has herdistracted with the force and enthusiasm of her kisses.
Therehave also been some rather enlightening conversations with Benand Chad, over drinks and without cameras trained on them.
15.Whowakes up first?:
Harriet.
“It’sthe dawn of a new day, time to live it to the fullest!”
16.Whowants to stay in bed just a little longer?:
Audrey.
“No,it is not! Now shut up, get back in bed, and letme get the rest of my beauty sleep!”
17.Whosays I love you first?:
Harriet, because she’s already comfortable with her sexuality of “mosteverything that lives, breathes, and moves,” and because “I loveyou” doesn’t really carry as much weight in the Isle as it doesin Auradon.
Sidenote, she found the way Audrey panicked and got flustered quiteamusing.
18.Wholeaves little notes in the other’s one lunch? (Bonus: what does itusually say?):
Audrey.
Theyusually have reminders about important things that Harriet needs toshow up to like doctor’s appointments, public events, andoccasionally a “treasure map,” with specific instructions forHarriet if she wants to get to Audrey’s “treasure chest” anytime soon.
19.Whotells their family/friends about their relationship first?:
Harriet.
It’sreally nothing new for Captain Hook to hear that his kids have hookedup with someone new—he was guilty of it himself, of course.
20.Whatdo their family/friends think of their relationship?:
CJand Harry both silently make bets about how long it’s going tolast, and start thinking up angles on how to exploit it to theiradvantage, such as kidnapping Audrey and using her as a bargainingchip to get Harriet to their bidding.
(Theystopped doing it after they learned the hard way that Audrey can a bea VERY unpleasant hostage, whether or not you gag and tie her andthrow her in the deepest, most secure brig you have. She will find away, she always does.)
Hookis disappointed but understanding that she’d want to dedicateherself to someone exclusively, and hopes that it won’t hamper hisdreams of his children going on to concur Auradon, and have the Hookname live on in infamy once more.
Audrey’sfamily are all incredibly chill with it, save perhaps hergrandmother. They’ve all really gotten over the initial shock ofVKs dating AKs, and in some ways, they’re happy that Harriet isgetting Audrey to be more daring and independent, be her own personrather than just be someone’s “prize.”
Theother AKs are concerned, Ben especially with how he knows Audreyspecifcally, but they don’t really question True Love, or ones thatare Generally Good.
TheVKs wholeheartedly and passionately warn Harriet against datingAudrey because she’s several shades of problematic, but inhindsight, it’s a good thing that Harriet ultimately listens to herown thoughts than others’.
21.Whois more likely to start dancing with the other?:
Harriet.
Inthe wake of her losing her original ankle in a horrific accident, shemade it a point that she would never be handicapped by herhandicap. As a result, she trained for long hours, getting around andeventually performing acrobatics with her “peg leg,” one of hermost common exercises being forcing herself to dance to whatever seashanty the bards in her crew were playing now. It was a gruelingcouple of years, sincethe initial prototypes were prone to breaking and injuring her fromstress, excessive use, and lack of maintenance.
ToHarriet, dancing in public is a form of therapy for the lingeringshame and the difficulties of being an amputee, proudly showing offto others that she’s not any less than anyone for having one lesslimb, and if she gets to show off Audrey and the two of them have aroaring good time?
Well, that’s just the new treasure map hidden inside the chest’s lid.
22.Whocooks more/who is better at cooking?:
Audrey.
WhileHarriet has cooked for herself and others, her skills are of the “howcan I make this not terrible and actually edible” variety, whileAudrey has had rigorous training and habit of cooking, thanks to her(fairy) godmothers Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather enlisting her helpwith chores.
23.Whocomes up with cheesy pick up lines?:
Harriet.
“Wasyer mother a siren? ‘Cause that voice of yours’ got me changingcourse to yer twin peaks.”
Incase you were wondering, “twin peaks” is Harriet’s slang forboobs, especially when she’s got her face between them.
24.Whowhispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear duringinappropriate times?:
Harriet.
“How about you and me sail offinto the night, head down somewhere nice and quiet, just you and me?”Harriet says whenever she’s coaxing Audrey into leaving boring ortedious events, frequently followed by vivid descriptions ofher ideas for the moment.
25.Whoneeds more assurance?:
Audrey.
Harriethas her times when she’s unconfident or unsure, but she gets overthem quickly, as she’s always needed to put on a proud face for heryounger siblings and her crew. Meanwhile, Audrey’s whole worldtends to come falling apart when something comes along that provesthat she and her life isn’t as perfect and flawless as she thinksit should be.
26.Whatwould be their theme song?:
“SheWill Be Loved” by Maroon 5.
Audreyhas only really dated Ben her whole life. What she has of herromantic experience is strictly limited to a boyfriend that has thepatience of a saint, and a gigantic capacity for compromise andself-sacrifice.
Afterher rocky rebound relationship with Chad, Audrey quickly finds that aLOT of boys and girls (and the odd non-binary gender) are fine withjust looking at her, or stay only for the good parts and leavefor the rest of it—Auradon Kids are raised with very high, oftenunrealistic expectations for their relationships.
Harriet,in a change of pace from the usual “love ‘em and leave ‘em,then love ‘em again and leave em again, then again, and again, andagain” cycle of Isle relationships, finds herself actually growingfond of Audrey and wanting to try this “monogamy” thing as shelearns more about her past the outward facade and reputation, howshe’s broken like her in so many different ways, and that the twoof them are “floating shipwrecks waiting to crash and burn oncethey finally hit that last rock, get swept up by the storm that doesthem in, or meet someone who has the decency to finally put us out ofour miseries.”
Buteven if they’re broken and troubled and terrible people, “… Iwon’t mind being marooned on an island with just you fer company.”
27.Whowould sing to their child back to sleep?:
Theyswitch duties, depending on who’s less tired.
Audreyhas all the classic lullabies and tales of heroism, though with thenames and pronouns mixed up to reflect her new reality, Harriet has(heavily sterilized) sea shanties and tales of heradventures, with most of the bad and embarrasing (for her) parts cutout.
28.Whatdo they do when they’re away from each other?:
Harrietgoes about her usual business “lookin’ for loot, and spendin’it just as quickly,” trying to be a responsible adult all byherself, or hanging out with her new “crews” on land or at sea.
Audreyusually attends to the more delicate and sensitive duties that can dowithout Harriet’s “unique perspective,” like small meetings andevents with the other Royals and upper crust of Auradon, alongsidehanging out with her friends and being less dependent on Harriet forher social needs, and “me time” such as shopping for clothes, going to spas, and educating herself about numerous matters.
29.oneheadcanon about this OTP that breaks your heart:
It’snot really new for Harriet to not come home, or crash at any of herfriends’ places after going out drinking. Audrey has long acceptedthat her girlfriend is an alcoholic, and tries her best to mitigatethe effects of that.
Whenit goes WAY too far, however, is not the time Harriet throws up on adistinguished individual, or when she humiliates herself and Audreyon live television while she’s all out blitzed, it’s when shegets into a car crash after trying to drive herself back home, andit’s only through luck that it was her prosthetic leg that gotcrushed beyond repair.
It’straumatizing for Harriet as she’s reminded of her mortality and thelimits of her body, and it’s even more traumatizing for Audrey whohas to face the facts that Harriet’s old problems and habits aremuch worse, that she almost lost her for good, and that forthe sake of both of them, serious, much more dire steps needto be taken to reform her.
Audreyquickly becomes overbearing and even more strict than usual, losing alot of the warmth and affection that Harriet likes and needs fromher, and it gets so bad that Harriet finally snaps, yelling at herand telling her to leave her alone, “I don’t need yer help, nowget outta my sight!”
Audreyis initially stunned, then she’s confused, then she’s angry, thenshe’s saddened, and finally horrified. Harriet sees the realizationin her eyes, but her pride and old, maladaptive habits keep her fromdoing anything but continue to yell at her until one of the nursescall her out and Audrey leaves the hospital in tears.
Laterthat night in the recovery ward with all the other amputees, Harrietonce more finds herself laying down in a bed she can’t get up from, staring at the space where her right ankle used to be, and beingreminded that it’s gone forever, there is no turning back in time,or getting a replacement that could come close to the original.
Andfor the few times in her life, she feels scared, sad, and alone—sovery alone…
30.oneheadcanon about this OTP that mends it:
Therest of the VKs and the AKs quickly swoop in and take it uponthemselves to help save this relationship and their friends, bygetting Audrey to back off and trust that Harriet does not needsomeone to constantly baby her and dictate her every move, that heraffections have gone too far and it’s suffocating Harriet, and forHarriet to finally get a chance to directly and frankly share withAudrey that she never likes feeling like someone is telling her whatto do, because she hates people treating her like she’s tooincompetent to make a responsible decision by herself.
OnHarriet’s side, she’s given plenty of hard lessons with showingvulnerability, reaching out to others, and asking for help when she’sfallen down and can’t get back up, sometimes literally because sheonly has one leg, she’s lost her crutch, and has nothing nearby tograb and pull herself up by.
Ittakes a lot of time with just their friends and trained, professionaltherapists before they can or are willing see each other again, buteventually, Audrey and Harriet sit down for tea once more with justthe two of them at the table. It’s horribly awkward for a longwhile as Audrey sees Harriet’s crutch resting nearby, and Harrietsees that Audrey definitely looks sorry and repentant for the helllined with good intentions she put her through.
Eventually, the two of them blurt out “I’m sorry!” at each other, and goabout discussing all the ways they messed up, and how they’re goingto get better in the future.
Severalweeks later, Audrey wheels Harriet out of the hospital herself, before they take a picture together of her standing with her brandnew titanium “peg leg,” this time with a much better swordintegrated into the model itself.
Tocelebrate, the two of them quickly find a good spot in the parkinglot, and have their first duel in far too long.
Harrietloses, because her new leg is without all the design flaws, damage, and less-than-ideal repair solutions she’s used to, but Audreypromises there’ll be many more rematches in the future.

Note
Who are the best siblings on the isle (have the best relationship) and who are the worst?
Best siblings:
Freddie and Celia Facilier. They care for each other and look out for each other and practice palm reading and tarot cards and sinister dark arts together....
When Freddie was in Auradon, she made a point of bringing garbage bags over to the barge filled with perfectly good food and clothes in the hopes that Celia would get it.
After Audrey took Celia hostage, Freddie was furious.
.
Harriet, Harry, and Calista Jane "CJ" Hook. Which comes as a surprise to some people, because the Hook siblings do not usually show physical or verbal affection. They usually yell at/insult each other. It's not like they're even on the same pirate crew. But they know each other better than anyone else-better even than Uma knows Harry. The only people they are unable to lie to are each other. Anyone who starts up with one of them makes an enemy of all of them.
Harriet and Harry are actually somewhat overprotective of CJ, which is part of the reason why CJ is so wild and chaotic-like she's proving that she doesn't need them to take care of her. She can take care of herself.
When she disappeared to Auradon, both of them, although they tried to hide it, were frantic, stressed, under pressure. They were simultanously very angry and very relieved when they found out that CJ was alive and well in Auradon.
.
They're cousins, not siblings, but Anthony and Dizzy Tremaine. Sure, Anthony is very into his status as "Lord Tremaine." But he cares deeply for Dizzy. Anthony will murder anyone who so much as looks at Dizzy the wrong way. He's not joking.
Worst siblings:
Gaston Junior and Gaston III to their brother Gil, as detailed in this post.
.
The Tremaines, excluding Dizzy, argue with each other a lot. You have multiple teenage girls living in the same house with a difficult mother and grandmother (to put it mildly), of course they’re going to argue. Half of them don’t live at home anymore, and the other half resents the half that left. They get along when it really counts, though. For instance, what food that is stolen or scavenged is evenly divided. And if Dizzy gets a bit extra, no one says anything.
.
I can’t think of anyone else. I like to think that on the Isle, siblings stick up for each other. They may not have parents who care about them, they may not have enough food or clothing or anything, but at least they have each other.
