Awhile ago I was delusional enough to write a 51 page, 12K word manuscript defending Suselle, as a rebuttle to someone's 48 Page document claiming Suselle won't happen/isn't healthy, because they said the most convincing counter arguments will get a free commission.

hello, everyone. this will be my first and only time i will be publicly addressing this. i am not answering questions about this, and for the first time ever, i am also disallowing anons.

first of all, i want to say that i've chosen to address this now out of my own volition. because i do not find it fair at all that i have felt that i could NOT address it at any point in order to maintain peace and harmony during, and in the wake of the event.

however, i feel that due to the nature of what happened, and the absolute damage that it has done to my mental health, that i must, in order to further my own recovery from it all, and as so no longer feel bullied into silence.

there will be no names mentioned. this is not a vaguepost. this is my formal statement for my own peace of mind and progressing on my path towards recovery.

let's talk.

throughout this past year i have been the target of a smear campaign concerning GOOMT. it actually began late 2022, but escalated long into 2023.

what entailed was nothing short of bad faith reading and interpretation from someone whose skill in character analysis was something i'd admired. in fact, i had agreed many a time with how they'd interpreted characters and the world of Silent Hill. although my interaction with said person had historically been minimal, it had been civil, and i strived to be respectful of them.

i am unfortunately unsure of what caused this, or why it happened at all; and i do not think they know either. what i do know is that many upon many lies were told about what i write, and that it turned needlessly personal on many occasions. people were turned against me for one reason another, and i'm saddened to have seen this happen.

i stayed quiet during it all. i did what many people facing ruthless targeted harassment do, and pretended i didn't know in hopes of minimizing damage, and in hopes of responsible parties losing interest; but this did not happen. i was sent bad faith anons, i was subject to lies, and saw hypocrisy.

and i understood who they were and why they were here. they were looking for "gotcha's!" that didn't exist, digging for reasons to further vilify me.

worse, the bullying was praised. it was encouraged, and it was near-constant. a whole tag was created. the intent was to hurt and isolate me, and it did. it did hurt me, and it did make me feel isolated, and i withdrew quite a bit.

but i did not stop writing. it took longer for me to post, but i did not stop writing.

and moreover?

i REFUSE to stop writing.

i write a fanfic for a fandom i love. i am as how you see me and how i present myself. i'm enthusiastic and encouraging to others because that is genuinely how i feel. i LOVE to see others create. i LOVE to see the vast amount of interpretations, and silliness, and new OCs and pairings and OC/canon pairings, and i LOVE to see others thrive.

and i am in competition with exactly no one.

i did nothing wrong. i KNOW i did nothing wrong. i also know that those involved know that i did nothing wrong, and i did nothing to deserve the treatment i received, no matter how they try to justify it to themselves.

the behavior i faced, and how others reacted with encouragement and cheer is becoming too common and too normalized.

and it needs to stop.

i've been in therapy for the better part of my life. although i've been without a therapist since i've moved, i've finally found one to not only continue my lifelong recovery in other matters, but to help myself recover from what i faced this year.

i am extremely hurt. i know that this was the goal, and it has succeeded. if hearing this fills those involved with pride and glee, then something is wrong, because that should not elicit that reaction. i am extremely, deeply disappointed in those involved for this, and all the hypocrisy, and all the contradictions, and all the willful bad faith asks sent and posts made.

and i have done nothing wrong.

i do not hate anyone. i do not hate who started this, or even who engaged with them; and i never did.

it is okay if someone doesn't like what or how i write. in fact, i have made multiple posts about how i view my attitude towards my writing. one of the points i have made is that i encourage people who do not like what i write, to NOT read it.

there is a very old saying on fandom internet: Don't Like? Don't Read. now, this should be obvious, but the practice of hate-reading is an extremely unhealthy behavior that has, again, become unfortunately normalized in the recent handful of years.

unlearn hate-reading. you do not read to read anything you do not like. it, in many cases, can actually constitute as self-harm. and if you choose to do this, it is not the author's fault.

it is yours. and you need to take responsibility for your own actions.

there are people here who were needlessly cruel to me and who i feel do not feel a lick of remorse for what they've done. i hope some day that they can reflect with a clearer head and understand, and take some responsibility for their actions.

and i genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, with full raw sincerity, hope that they do get to heal; that they do learn and grow; that they UNlearn these toxic behaviors; are able to move away from people who exhibit them; find the courage and strength to stand up for themselves and/or others, to end the cycle; and that they understand that i do not hate them, and that i wish them full success in their future health and endeavors.

that said, i hope all involved will never forget the harm they have done. i hope they cringe. i hope it keeps them up at night, and i dearly hope they actually regret their actions, or at some point come to regret it.

i do not hate any one of them, and i won't. i never will.

and never will anyone involved ever be forgiven for it either.

most of all - and on a much lighter note - i want to say thank you to those who supported me during this time. your patience and reassurance has been a saving grace that words unfortunately cannot do justice. you are precious to me, and i love you all, and i hope that i can be just as strong and supportive to you in your times of need.

thank you too to all my readers, my followers, and my friends. i'm sorry to have been largely absent this past year, but this was the reason why. next year it will be better, not just for me, but for all of us. i promise. i love you all.

Entering the convent so you don't have to, part 1

Here are the things I learned so far as an aspirant.

+ there are different congregations with different charism and spirituality. No, they don't hate each other. They are actually quite close and help each other as much as they can.

+ they are required to have retreat once a year, about 30 days. My corporate work can't even 😭

+ there are THREE vocations. Religious, Married, and Singlehood. They consider Singlehood as a vocation, and it's normal. I haven't heard any bad opinions on any of the vocations. They said it depends on the calling from above, so who are they to judge. Your titas who call you selfish for wanting to be single forever is not a real catholic, siz.

+ they support the LGBTQIA+ groups (the congregation I am in anyway) and actually give seminars to young members who experience harassment due to this. My congregation actually has a lot of trans and gay scholars. They are also youth volunteers, and no, they are not forced to change who they are.

+ There are Missionary congregations and Contemplative congregations. Missionaries are sent around the world to start or serve a ministry (like education, orphanages, feeding the poor, free tutorials, scholarships, retreat houses, etc.) Contemplatives are those who stay inside the convent all their lives to pray for the world. (Gonna use that ✨manifesting✨ powers to good use sisters. Never seen a contemplative sister, but I hope they can levitate with all that meditation.)

+ there are some congregations that have a Mother, while some congregations prefer to remove the hierarchical system and so everyone is now a Sister. They don't get promoted, they term it as 'given role'. It's by rotation sometimes.

+ some sisters have fancy uniforms. Yay! Ours don't, lol. We have standard uniforms but we can still wear whatever. Since I'm still an aspirant, I have no dress codes.

+ novice sisters go to classes together in a congregation that offers the class. Think of it as that specific lecture convention by Gusu Lan (if you are an MDZS fan). It's exactly like that. Minus the discrimination. I am not a novice sister yet so I don't know what's going on there, like if there's really discrimination or whatever. But Postulancy (a phase before noviciate) has human development classes so I guess they're better human beings there. 🤷

+ As an aspirant, I have classes of my own, like reflective classes and art classes. It's to know myself first, understand my human conditions, and see what sisters really do to see if I'm ready for this kind of ministry. If they see that my personality is for another congregation, they can have dialogue with that congregation for my recommendation. No ill feelings if I don't continue. I have been reminded several times that there is no pressure. (Again, I don't know what other congregations do.)

I've seen enough posts for this, so I thought I'd make it clear what I'm like and what I think. I've tried made posts about this in the past, and then I just get dissociated and forget to finish it. But if I have more to add, I will.

Opinions under the cut

I block and avoid most pro-endo blogs, but don't have a pro-endo dni, because anyone is allowed to resonate with my posts. Our alters have various opinions, and contribute to sys-conversation sometimes, so that means we may end up reblogging from pro-endos. But we block and avoid people who may be uncomfy with interacting with us.

To tac onto the previous bullet point, I don't think anyone's actually endogenic, and if they aren't actually a system, they're experiencing something outside of a complex dissociative disorder. I don't fakeclaim people who ID as endo, I just don't believe that term accurately describes what they're experiencing.

I don't think anyone has the right to tell people not to use specific names. Alters will identify with what they identify with. If you disagree, please either block or unfollow me. I'm not going to debate this. I avoid all posts related to this.

This is kind of an in-between opinion, but calling endos delusional is wrong, misusing medical terms for people who are maliciously or not-maliciously incorrect about DID, is just wrong. Let's not do that.

I do not advocate or condone harassment. Harassing people you disagree with is bad. I have trauma surrounding being harassed, and I think harassing others is fucked up. Dni if you condone harassment.

I don't use the term purality to describe myself, I may have in the past, but I currently do not. Do not describe me as such.

Otherkin and kin stuff is fine and I'm okay with it being compared to systemhood. I am a system with many introjects and fragments, and we found out who we are because we didn't exactly align with kin or the kin community. But saying either one is just stupid roleplaying is just dumb. I also kin and identify as fictionkin sometimes, usually as a lighthearted or more acceptable way of saying i have introjected fragments of characters.

Littles can consent within reason, such as if the body is a bodily adult (adults can always consent to their own discretion). Everyone's system's rules is different, respect each individual, and don't make blanket statements about others. We care about our own individual autonomy, and we're not going to force shit on people either way, so don't force shit onto people just because you have an issue.

I don't like the term Highly Complex DID, and believe RAMCOA experiences still fall under polyfragmentation. However, I don't judge people for the usage of these terms, and it's not my place to tell them to not use it. I also obviously believe in RAMCOA and I think the discourse with the validity of those terms is wrong.

Singlets should stay tf out of system discourse. You're not a system, fuck off.

I do not think anyone should be pushed to source separate. It's the alter's decision if they'd like to or not.

Yeah... Honestly, the hypocrisy of the whole thing is what gets me. The sense I get is that most people in syscourse are basing their principles on who they're friends with or who agrees with them. "Someone I like does something? It's fine. Someone I dislike does the exact same thing (or even a lesser version of it) then it's terrible and they're awful."

On the whole DNI thing, I also need to say that Tumblr is designed so you can search for any topic by tags, then like, reblog or reply to posts you see in those tags. People aren't expected to click on every blog they see in the tags, then carefully scan over the pinned post to make sure they don't fit into the DNI list. It's pretty silly to expect people to dedicate their time to that.

And also, DNIs aren't usually meant to be specific people, are they? Like you said, there's a block button. Sure, you have to jump through a few hoops to block someone on sideblogs, but it seems like less effort than putting them in a DNI they may not even see.

I have to ask, has anyone ever actually seen this in other communities? Where a user who isn't a public figure has people telling their supporters to not interact?

I haven't seen this but I don't hang around many other communities on Tumblr either.

To me, the whole thing looks like people disguising harassment as a boundary. It lets you target a specific user, let everyone who clicks on your blog know that this user is supposedly a bad person they should stay away from, and gives an easy excuse to make callout posts about that user when followers inevitably ask why they're in your DNI.

DNIs already are usually performative anyways. But this seems to go a step further than that to the point of using a "DNI" to attack specific individuals, which just feels gross to me.

Sonoko and Ran's friendship is one of the better relationships for Ran in this series so I always like the movies showing them be close.

AND in WHAT fucking UNIVERSE did he "deserve better"? he fucked over his friends in multiple ways; he talked behind their back and insulted them; he blackmailed someone; he didn't tell his boyfriend that he wanted an open relationship and then KISSED ANOTHER GUY WHILE ON A DATE WITH HIM.

AND IN THE END... GOT WHAT HE HAD ALWAYS WANTED, WHICH WAS TO LEAVE FOR NEW YORK TO PURSUE HIS CAREER. the ONLY reason he was with nick again by the end was because nick was the only person who had so little self-respect that he was willing to take boston back despite how much he'd hurt him, and boston repaid that kindness by hurting him again. nick was always a consolation prize to him and i can't BELIEVE how many of you think that them ending up together would be a happy ending. boston got WAY better than he deserved. he faced the consequences of his OBJECTIVELY EVIL actions and had an actual character arc (WHEN NICK DIDN'T) and, AGAIN, GOT WHAT HE WANTED.

by "deserved better" do you mean that his friends, who he repeatedly treated with disdain and only felt bad about hurting after he suffered consequences, should have forgiven him? do you think they should have stayed friends with someone who has no interest in actually changing? or did you want his personality to do a complete 180, thus becoming un-fucking-recognizable? do you even really like this character?

why do boston stans think that his worst or most hated quality is that he sleeps around? it's the SPECIFIC PEOPLE that he slept with that make him a bad person omfg you need to unlearn your shame about sex because for some reason it's making you forget why sexually harassing people and sleeping with your friends' partners/siblings is... BAD. having sex with lots of different people is NEUTRAL; if everyone is consenting and having a good time, that's GOOD. his life wasn't empty, he NEVER wanted a commitment. ending up with someone in a long-term relationship was NEVER in the cards for him because it was never what he wanted. he literally said so himself after letting nick think that was what he wanted and the only reason he told him that was because he got caught.

nick deserved better. he's the only boy who doesn't have a conclusion to his arc - all he does is kind of self-actualize by no longer letting boston use him. we don't know what happens to him beyond that.

Hello guys welcome back! Have you ever thought about how social media influences the way we act online and how it deals with drama, especially harassment and cyberbullying? Let’s explore digital citizenship, social media governance, and how they relate to online harassment!

First of all, let’s talk about what is digital citizenship. Digital citizenship involves using technology responsibly, safely, and respectfully. It includes protecting private information online, reducing risks from cyber threats, and using information and media in a respectful, informed, and legal manner (Digital Citizenship: What it is & What it Includes | Learning.com 2023). While we live and interact online much like we do offline, we aren't always mindful of our online actions. Sometimes we act without considering the impact on our reputation, safety, and growth as digital citizens. Meanwhile, everything we do online shapes our digital world and identity. Social Media Governance refers to the guidelines, methods, and steps that social media platforms use to control and oversee how users behave and what they post on their platforms (Murthy 2024). The purpose of social media governance is to keep the internet a safe, respectful, and legal place to be while also protecting user rights and free speech.

Do you know that if you don’t use social media wisely will lead to harassment and cyberbullying? These are serious issues that affect many people online. Harassment involves repeated, unwanted behavior that makes someone feel intimidated or threatened. Cyberbullying is a type of harassment that happens specifically online. It can include spreading rumors, sending threatening messages, or publicly humiliating someone. Both can have devastating effects on victims, leading to anxiety, depression, and even suicidal thoughts. Based on my research, over 3000 cases is reported in Malaysia in 2023 (Rashidi 2024). MCMC also found that Facebook was the most common platform for cyberbullying, with 1,401 reports. WhatsApp came in second with 667, followed by Instagram with 388, TikTok with 258 and X with 159 and both adults and teenagers also reported being harassed within the past 12 months, up from 23% in 2022 to 33% in 2023 for adults, and 36% to 51% for teenagers (Wahab 2023). Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have their own rules to keep things in check. These rules are supposed to prevent stuff like cyberbullying, fake news, and hate speech. But let's be real—sometimes these platforms don't always get it right. They have to balance free speech with the need to protect users from harmful content.

One big part of social media governance is content moderation. This is where platforms use a mix of algorithms and human moderators to check what’s being posted (Content Moderation Justice and Fairness on Social Media: Comparisons Across Different Contexts and Platforms 2024). While AI can catch some bad stuff, it’s not perfect. Human moderators have the tough job of deciding what stays and what goes, which can be super stressful. One of the examples where conflicts often pop up is when misinformation and fake news, lead to misunderstandings and disputes. Let’s talk about the legal framework for cyberbullying in Malaysia. In Malaysia, there is no existing legal provision specifically to tackle cyberbullying cases in Malaysia. Besides, we can also refer to Section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998 which is Improper use of network services, which includes making any comment that is considered offensive, abusive, and intended to harass another person, if anyone is convicted, the offender could be fined of not more than RM50,000 or imprisonment for up to 1 year, or both (Iskandar 2023). Malaysia’s government should take cyberbullying seriously and come out with a legal law for cyberbullying.

So, what can we do as digital citizens? We can start by being mindful of what we post and how we interact with others. Think twice before sharing something controversial or unverified. Be respectful in your comments and conversations. And if you see something harmful, report it. Together, we can make social media a better place.

I really enjoyed the first two eps of Faceless Love. ( Granted I maybe slightly biased since I was in love with the Korean Vers.) All I will say though come on GMM don't let me down.

Like, I even got over the actor change very quickly. It was not due to any hate. I actually have enjoyed quite a few Luke drama's honestly pretty much most he has been in. I was just slightly attached to the other actor that was shown in the mock trailer and excited to see him in the role. But, anyways I'm enjoying Luke thus far (I don't know if I'm the only person that feels this way) but Luke really fits the business man vibe and I also feel like his is starting to come into and grown as an actor.

Also on another note Dew is so cute. I'm glad to see him in a lead role. cause I instantly loved him in F4 and wished he had a bigger role in the series. He just has that boy next door charm about him. So, far I'm loving it.

Tw bad friends

So a few years ago in high school, I lost my friend group. They told me they didn’t like me anymore and that they don’t want to be friends because I’m “immature”.

Beforehand they had pulled a lot of other stuff that should have been signs that they didn’t want to be my friend, but I was too stupid to realize.

They did things like exclude me from events bc my step-sister (also in the friend group) said that her dad was uncomfortable around me. (Fair but they could have still made an effort to find things to include me in.)

They also refused to let me sit with them at lunch bc it made my step-sis’s other friends (whom I never actually met) uncomfortable.

They’d also hold interventions for me in front of other students about my behaviors that they didn’t like. Stuff like bullying (I told a kid to stop harassing me), using my intelligence against people (I got excited about a good exam grade), and being immature (I was the only person in the group in advanced classes who regularly got good grades and I’m currently the only one in college and a steady career path.)

Point is, they were terrible friends but at the time they were my only friends and I trusted them a lot. I have newer friends now and they actually trust and respect me but I still fear that they’ll get tired of me and I’ll do something to make them want to get rid of me.

How do I lose that fear of being unwanted, and am I justified in hating my old group?

I'm so sorry about what you've been through. You do not deserve to be treated that way. It's understandable why experiences like these can give you anxiety about future friendships, and perhaps creating some fear of abandonment as well.

As someone with BPD, I find communication helpful and reassuring. Occasionally doing check-ins with your friends to evaluate how you're doing, how they're feeling, if there's anything they want to talk about or anything you could be doing differently, can not only give you some peace of mind but also opens the floor for your friends to give their honest thoughts. Plus, if they have no complaints, that's something to take personally.

You may find helpful this article about REBT's theory of irrational beliefs, as the comebacks can be very useful. While I don't necessarily like the use of the word "irrational" because it is justified by very real and valid experiences, it does speak to a cycle of thinking that can potentially do some damage. The answers to the first irrational idea in particular may resonate with you.

Ultimately, it's hard to fully accept (even myself) but, all relationships are temporary because we are, and it is as within your right to stop being friends with someone as it is for them to stop being friends with you. It may also help to remember that if a friend of yours decides to no longer be friends, they were never meant to stay.

hey there, hope you’re doing well. this is no hate to the cc’s, things have been rough and they’ve had their hands full for like half a year now with things they obviously want to do more. my problem is… am i the only one who thinks they’re beating a dead horse with the dream smp?

there’s talks of a closing event and a server revamp but i don’t think that was planned with the already developed plotlines in mind, more as a last resort. that means they will be dropped, and even if the server doesn’t reset, i don’t think there will ever be a conclusion. the only people ever online are new members trying to make their own lore, but since the already old one is crumbling, failing to incorporate themselves. every person added doesn’t feel like “hey fresh blood for the story”, it feels like “again, really? aren’t there enough half-baked plot points already?”

the people who are added are basically just handed clout for something the wider audience doesn’t care about anymore (compared to the ‘getting invited to the dream smp’ craze there was before) and then left on their own, while the characters who have had development either go in loops or just do not do anything at all. the recent plotlines with the og characters (from what i’ve heard) were also pretty triggering for what seemed like no real reason. the question of whether wil and the others handled sensitive topics well is another thing, but from a writing perspective, it sucks.

the dream smp (as a story, not a fandom) died, i think, when the creators just stopped being all that interested in it. wilbur, ranboo, quackity, karl, those are just a few who were ready to put in a whole lot of effort but never went through with it, as if waiting for some kind of cue, which never came because the group lacks any kind of organization. now everyone so busy and uninterested and just wants to move on already, which is good and fine and i am happy about it actually, but they are just putting off actually declaring it done for some reason or another.

so, what’s your opinion on this as a well-respected (by me at least, don’t quote me) dream smp analyst? i checked in to the analyst side of tumblr expecting it to be a little dried out from the lack of answers, but it seems somehow there’s still discourse. not directed specifically at you, but what’s the point of putting forth the energy to stay in this community anymore? there’s no new content to get excited about, so why bear the downsides (because people will always find new ways to be stupid)?

not asking you to quit, but it just feels strange as a somewhat-outsider. it seems the job of a lore analyst that used to be stitching together the pieces of the latest content and rearranging old information in new and exciting ways is just 1. get harassed 2. argue (or try to avoid it) 3. feel dejected because it’s obviously not getting better. why are so many people sticking around…? do some actually think the creators will pick this abandoned story back up just because they’re talking about it as if it was still ongoing (likely because none of them can make that call alone)?

i’m just confused and feel a little bad for the people who get treated badly over and over by hateful people that don’t let go even if the story is basically done. sorry if this was difficult to read, head full.

This... uhh... sure is an essay. I might not be addressing every one of your points since I frankly just can't be bothered but here's my perspective on the Lore Drought™ I guess.

Calling it beating a dead horse is a brave statement since Dream SMP still gets views. That server is a cash cow. The content creators know it's a cash cow which is like half the reason they don't want to abandon it. It still Gets Views it is still An Opportunity For Content.

I see little point in speculating on whether old arcs will be dropped once the Big Dream SMP News arrive because we simply don't know. Extensively speculating on it is likely to either set you up for disappointment or make you panic over nothing. But we do know that whatever Dream suggested and all the members are looking forward to is supposed to be a compromise between those who want to reset the server and those who want to continue the storylines that are already there. So the ongoing stories probably aren't getting abandoned completely. As for what exactly happens to them, we'll just have to wait and see.

I am really confused about your point about recent arcs being triggering. I guess points can be made about how the CCs should consider presenting trigger warnings for their streams and that taking the story in that direction limits the amount of people who can engage with it and is therefore bad for views, but I'm not sure that's the points you're trying to make. If people really don't like the direction of some storylines, they can just not watch them. I don't see the big problem here. You can choose what content to consume, no one is forcing people to trigger themselves. It's the content creators' server and their story and if they want to delve into darker topics, that's their decision. I've seen criticism of how that content is handled but none of it is something I agree with.

Another brave statement is saying content creators aren't interested in the server. In fact, everyone seems very excited to continue writing and creating content on it. Even Wilbur who wants to give his character an ending (likely because he wants to focus on his band) has shown great enthusiasm for his own story. It's doesn't seem like it's out of boredom or disinterest that he's wrapping his plot up. Quackity seems to be hinting at a Las Nevadas Finale. People don't want to move on, people in fact want to continue, but how disorganized the server is + outside circumstances seem to be getting in the way.

I am not putting forth energy to stay in the community in the way you seem to be implying (like I'm holding onto a sinking ship). In fact, I've tried to distance myself from it and focus on something else multiple times, but these goddamn Blockmen Roleplay have gotten a death grip on my soul and there is no escape. You can see me become more inactive from time to time as the lack of content gets to me only to start incessantly posting once the Blorbo Syndrome returns full force. I don't exclusively engage in petty discourse (when I notice that becoming my primary activity in the fandom I tend to take one of those step-backs coz it usually means my interest has dried up a little). I rewatch VODs, I watch VODs I've never seen before, I talk to people about AUs, I read fanfic, I post enthusiastically about my blorbos, I spin my blorbos in my brain. Sometimes I find entertainment in revisiting old content and looking at it from a new perspective. Like, I don't think you can only ever have interest in a show that's ongoing. I am going to be sticking around until I manage to fixate on something else but it ain't happening yet, I've tried. Even if the revamp (or whatever it is that will soon happen to the Dream SMP) doesn't produce regular content the way we're being promised I am probably still going to stick around because my enjoyment doesn't hinge on getting fresh content. And it's the same for many others.

Like, overall, I get how it can sometimes feel like the fandom is just the same old discourse & harassment over and over again. As I've said it does get to me as well sometimes and then I just take a lil break until my enthusiasm returns. But I still find plenty of enjoyment in the Actual Content, even if it's old content, as well as in interacting with / creating fancontent. I guess for others their enjoyment is much more dependent on getting Regular Content, by the sound of things you might be one of those people, and that's fine!! But some people just wanna go crazy over the same scenes over and over again and create their little AUs and write fic and that's fine. People interact with content differently, and for some there's still plenty to enthuse over, which is why the fandom is still pretty active despite the lore drought and all the broken promises of content.

hi gen time for the annual me explaining something since im seeing ppl in your asks not knowing. scutes is a name for a group of friends that formed from the very first hermitblr discord server back in 2018. this was even before evil xisuma fanclub which was the first *big* one. eventually scutes just became a private group of friends not related to hermitcraft. that's it. uhf- underrated hermit fanclub- was a separate public server made a bit later on, of which about half the mods were also in the scutes server.

back then many of us were against shipping, including myself, but everyone who was has either left a long time ago, is now neutral on it, or a shipper themselves.

after the events i described in this ask: <https://aroaceacacia.tumblr.com/post/660177626185580544/heyo-just-read-through-your-whole-2019-tag-and> , the people who left hermitzine's original organizing committee mostly being in the scutes discord server, and me complaining about what happened in what was again, a private chat with friends, several of miles' friends started publicly saying awful crap about us as a group. at that time a good chunk of people weren't even active in the hermitcraft fandom and of those who were most of them had nothing to do with this. their main thing was accusing us of "fandom policing" due to a few of us who were anti-ship at the time also having that same mindset about drawing the hermits doing drugs, which for some reason was a thing a lot of other anti-ship people were really into doing at the time. they also spread a lot of blatant lies, most prominent one being that we excused x's transphobia at the time because we didn't openly hate on him. (in actuality we were some of the first to publicly confront him about it both in the chat live of that stream while it was happening and afterwards on twitter, so no clue where they were coming from on that)

pretty much until the incident with cleo when they all finally left tumblr, this continued on and off. it did mostly just take place in various discords after the initial wave of them making tumblr posts, but it was still really bad at times. there were many specific incidents that i won't get in to because i wasn't at the center of them and it may bring up a lot of bad things for those who were. they're not my stories to tell.

i'll also mention two more things. miles did try to apologize to me early on in all this, before any of this escalated and was just a dumb argument over how to run a zine. i refused to accept his apology because i saw it as insincere when he had refused any of the compromises on how the zine should be run. second is that once the harassment on tumblr started i asked for advice on what to do in joe's patreon discord. joe was one of the people who responded, and at the time his response was pretty much just questioning why it was a problem and not really understanding the power structure of decentralized fandom. miles caught wind of this somehow and tried to get me to tell joe that what i had said wasn't true. something that i obviously refused to do.

i don't care about miles anymore, don't go trying to confront him about any of this or anything please. ive since gotten back into therapy (i wasnt at the time this all happened which def did not help the situation) and this is in the past. but a lot of other people have wounds that are still in the process of healing from this and would rather it not be talked about, especially by people who weren't involved in it, which is why there's been little to no public documentation of it.

ok hold on. acomaf is my fave book out of the whole series (it's mostly out of emotional value, i read it when i was younger and didn't have a real understanding out trauma and abuse only that i saw a character i loved getting out of a bad situation and getting happy) so obviously i didn't mind feysand being endgame and the development all of the characters had. i can accept tamlin turned out like that is realistic due to his trauma, i can accept feyre had to flee because it wasn't right for her, but the thing is after acofs i see no point to feyre leaving tamlin when rhysand ends up doing everything they told us tamlin was evil and unredeemable for. hiding the risks of her pregnancy, putting on shields on her, having feyre need to compromise over it. i honestly felt so betrayed by that. i'm not saying feyre and tamlin were good for each other, but it doesn't feel worth it to dismiss the potential they had for what we got with feysand.

also, sarah learn to treat "ugly" trauma with respect challenge. no they don't need to learn to physically fight to fight it. no they don't need a love interest to overcome it. yes the behaviors acquired from trauma and abuse aren't pretty but that doesn't mean a person is undeserving of kindness and compassion.

I don't think it's a secret that Rhysand is one of my least favorite characters in media, probably ever? (How do I even put this into words) He is a bad character and to me, laughably so. You know how if you've ever written a character, there's that little phase that's like "what if people don't like this character' and then you're sad for a little bit? That's how Rhysand feels to me. He feels like SJM looked at this character and thought "I can't stand the thought of people not liking this character because I love him so much" and then did everything in her power to make sure we know how great he is.

Idk if this is just me screaming into the void, but I get to this place with my characters where like, especially if they are a little more morally gray or their decisions have negative impacts, I understand that I don't need the audience to like my main character. they can stand on their own, they can own up to what they do and they can grow from it. Thats what a good character does. That's how you keep your audience rooting for them. You gotta knock them over sometimes.

SJm doesn't knock Rhysand over. She doesn't push him to make mistakes, apologize, own up and move on. Rhysand has never made a decision that ended poorly for him. Everything goes the way he wants it to, because SJm wants us to know how cool and great he is. People who are cool and great don't make bad decisions! SJm doesn't let Rhysand fail, and she doesn't let him suffer his own decisions. Everyone else suffers his decisions, not him.

Rhysand's reputation as a good person hinges entirely on the audience liking him and/or thinking he's hot. And then what happens when the audience thinks neither of those things? Ya get a rly long post like this by a lil enby who is mad all the time. Rhysand loses all credibility when you look at him through a critical lens. Not a single thing the man does makes any goddamn sense. Here I thought acosf would give us a different perspective on Feysand and I was desperately hoping that Nesta would tell us what she really sees in them and how people around them really feel, I hoped that SjM would throw us for a loop and tell us that hey, she does know that Feysand are fucking toxic as hell and ruin the lives of people around them and she wants to show us that from an outside perspective but noooOoOOOoOoOOOO...

Instead we get Nesta hating herself because Rhysand told her that she shouldn't tell Feyre that Feyre could uh die in childbirth. Hey what the fuck.

Now I don't actually ship feylin, I kinda always sorta knew, even without spoilers, that it wasn't going to work out. Tamlin isn't sjm's idea of a good partner because he's not charming and witty and dark and handsome ya know? We met Rhysand and I knew that I was going to fucking hate this romance. Which sucks because I found Rhysand so intriguing in the first book. Ngl all the time spent in the spring court was kinda boring and every time Rhysand showed up to throw dead faeries at Tamlin I was like "oooooo" and I wanted to know more about why Tamlin, this awkward, blunt and kinda shy dude had beef with this super duper sly and shady man from another court.

I don't know if I've ever said this before, but SJm doesn't let her love interests grow. Rhysand doesn't change over the course of the story because he was already a good guy and his motives were for Feyre's sake I swear, the same goes for Rowan in TOG. SJm doesn't give Rhysand room to change. She needs to get to the part where they fuck make sure everyone knows that Rhysand is a good guy and actually he was good all along so that we like him more than Tamlin. It backtracks on everything bad Rhysand has ever done because you know... He had a good reason! It's fine!

I know it's probably just because SJm doesn't actually know how to write a good character growth arc but... Like can you imagine if Rhysand stayed the bad guy? Or at least remained the bad guy through acotar and acomaf? And then when Rhysand comes to take Feyre for his bargain it really was only to spite Tamlin? What about Rhysand, taking Feyre to the night court with him once a week every month for a long time, if only to see Tamlin's eyes grow darker and emptier every time he goes, and then he really starts to fall in love with Feyre. He's been a monster all this time, angry and cold and cruel and then he actually starts to fall in love. And then to get Feyre to stay he really does try to change, he stops antagonizing Feyre, he stops throwing dead faeries at Tamlin, and he stops harassing the Spring court. He starts spending genuine quality time with Feyre, he starts to learn about her and all the things she likes and he stops trying to get her to come with him just so Tamlin will be mad. He starts asking her to come with him because he wants to be around her and he prays that someday she'll want to be around him too. What if SJm let him grow.

But nahhhhhh instead we have a character who always knows the right answer to things, and he always knows how to fix every issue, and he is always so innovative and outside the box except that he isn't. We get a character who does the same shit as Tamlin but it's ok because he had a good reason not to tell Feyre that she could very well die in childbirth. Uhhhh don't know what that is but uhhh I know he has his reasons because all he has are his reasons.

It would be so easy to hold a mirror up to Rhysand and say "look at this. Look who you are. Do you not look just like Tamlin right now?"

But nooooooooOoOOOo Rhysand doesn't get to be wrong. Rhysand doesn't get to look like Tamlin because Tamlin is evil and Rhysand is definitely NOT I SWEAR.

But yeah I think the point I'm trying to make is that Sarah thinks so highly of Rhysand that he could never do wrong. He could never be like Tamlin, despite the narrative literally telling us the exact opposite.

Like you said, we lost the potential of what feylin could have been if SJm didn't suddenly decide that her audience needs to love Rhysand as much as she does. I think feylin could have been slow and sweet and a story of true healing and learning about one another. I think it would have been kind and steady and lots of "are you ok"s and "I'm sorry"s and "talk to me"s. Everything about Feysand feels rushed and hard and fast and the rest of the world doesn't have time to catch up. It's fucking exhausting to read it ya know what I'm saying.

(also can we talk about Rhysand like dying and Feyre finding the suriel and learning he's her mate and then instead of being like "k let's put a pin in that and fuckin save his life first" she like throws him around and everyone is like "wtf woman" and she's like I neeD tO Be alOnE these people have no idea how to prioritize)

Truly, I think it's innocent to a degree. There is absolutely no harm in wanting people to like your character. The harm comes when you destroy another character with no reason or explanation other than you want people to like a different character. Villain arc? Completely out of left field. You gotta build to that shit or like... Make it so that when you look back you slap your forehead and yell at a wall "OF FUCKING COURSE I SHOULD HAVE SEEN IT"

In relation to the #StopAsianHate tag, it seems fitting to add this contribution since China has been doing a lot of horribly questionable things(to put it mildly), and this has led to a rise in anti-asian rhetoric, with extras on the anti-chinese rhetoric.

It has affected overseas Chinese-descendants and the Chinese diaspora around the world badly, since they had no hand in what China did, nor do they share the same sentiments of China, yet they still get harassed and targeted. Even to the point of cop agents admit to accusing a Canadian professor of Chinese descent of being a spy, Hongkongnese coworkers mistreating overseas Chinese not from China, and a British-born Asian man getting deported without question.

So in lieu of letting this storm rage over even more, the better option appears to be to address everyone's concerns and assumptions about people of Chinese descent who are citizens since birth in other countries and have never set foot in china before.

The main point is: NOT ALL CHINESE AROUND THE WORLD ARE WUMAO COMMUNISTS, NOT ALL CHINESE DESCENDANTS SHARE THE SAME SENTIMENTS AS CHINA OR DOING THINGS FOR CHINA. Got it?

Now, to move on to the other part of attacks on Chinese culture and shaming people just for being Chinese.

1.It is okay to be Chinese-born; there is nothing wrong that you happen to be a Chinese person. You deserve dignity, pursuit of happiness, liberty and respect, just like any other race of person, black, white, Jew, etc out there. You are a person too and don't let anyone treat you otherwise.

2.Chinese people are not "spawn of the bad" or "corrupted subhuman" or "tainted genome"; they are not inherently rotten just by being of Chinese descrnt. There is no proof of that, when you pick apart gene sequences from a Chinese descendant in the clinic, it's still very similar to any other person's dna. Just like every nationality, there's kind people and there's assholes. And just like most other countries, who also had monarchy inbreeding, illness, and radiation(did you know of the Radium Girls in the 1920s, or the very unsafe nuclear testing in the 50s to 90s? They even used to put Radium in wristwatches for citizens to glow in the dark so casually.), the Chinese are no different. Just like to bring up the good parts of others' history rather than focus on the bad so much like china.

3.Chinese history, philosophy and culture does not have all bad parts. Please read and analyze everything, good and bad parts, if you want to make a proper judgement. It is very shocking to hear everyone at this point, so comfortable with joking: "let's nuke the Chinese" or "hope we bomb china badly if there's a war" or "the British and Japanese were good to wipe out the Chinese first" so casually! It is not a fair sentiment nor anti-racist one. If it's wrong to say: "the native Americans should have gotten rid of the arriving pilgrims because they were gonna genocide them anyways so might as well" or "black people should be allowed to hurt white people now for all they've done" then statements of that nature against Chinese is also wrong.

And just like other nations who came before and around the same time, these other nations also had bad parts of their culture. No one seems to highlight how colonizers used to practice Safari Game Hunting in Africa for centuries which killed a lot of animals leaving endangered species, no one talks about the quack and irrational remedies doctors in medieval Ages used to do, how they used to mix arsenic in paint on toys in Victorian era, European wars against indigenous peoples, as much as they keep on bringing up Chinese history's weak points and irrationally using it as a weapon to hold against Chinese people irrelevant to the cause of their past generations for years. It is unfair to whitewash your history while scorning the Chinese people's past.

Some Chinese clothing is nice. Some Chinese food is delicious. Some Chinese architecture can be very beautiful. Some Chinese inventions are useful. Those are the good points of Chinese culture. Not everything is tainted.

4.Not all Chinese are ugly. Or yellow skinned. Or receded jawed. Some have hooded eyes, some have high cheekbones, bigger mouths, wonky noses naturally too. Please look at every Chinese person without plastic surgery and analyze the whole populations faces, before you pass a half-assed judgement of how "ugly" they are in general! Seriously, if not how can you make a proper judgement?

5.As for other Asians who are non-Chinese, please stop trying to compare your cultures against theirs, treat it like a contest and say which one is the 'better Asian' to the people of the Occident(white). It is not cool nor necessary. Just do your thing go brighten your own little corner and you'll be great. Not every wumao is stealing your culture all the time sometimes cultures and trads just overlap or happen to be similar or shared through separation and migration reasons. Yes, you are a different non-chinese Asian and unique, there's no need to make noise or insult Chinese people just to prove your point too.

6.Overseas Chinese had ancestors who suffered too hence their migration and diaspora. Read about the Nanking Massacre, their Opium Addiction, 731 labs, Mao's rule, and other conditions. A lot didn't migrate for fun and games.

This is not dedicated to defending China's misdeeds or the Wumao, this is dedicated to the OVERSEAS people of Chinese descent, the Southeast Asian Chinese, the Chinese diaspora in the west, and anyone who didn't ask to be born with Chinese genes or ancestry but got it anyway: it's not your fault. Don't let yourself be shamed for being born this way, even when it's 'cool' to make fun of Chinese, and find a little pride in yourself. Take care and look out for yourself. There may be 1.4 billion mainland Chinese(even with the birth control policies), but there are many more overseas Chinese who need to be understood as "overseas people of Chinese descent" and respected as such.

For those who are non-chinese reading this, please think carefully anytime you want to post something, is it attacking only the current leaders in china or also targeting Chinese people or overseas Chinese-descent peoples too, before you become the very bigot you hate against a group of people or do a hate crime you might regret. Take a moment, and calm down.

i hope everyone remembers that it’s not all chinese people who are supporting the unjust things the government is doing. China in general is a very patriotic country and so when given the choice to believe something bad is happening or believing what they have been taught their entire lives (china is great and the best country in the world) they are going side with the statement that has been drilled into their heads since they were children. Chinese people aren’t ignorant they really just don’t know, every news outlet and media platform they use backs up the point that China is the best and they know if they step one toe out of line China is very powerful.

This is the government and the people of power’s doing and it doesn’t matter what the people think. The people either don’t know or don’t understand and it’s fry oho we many people repeatedly blame China as a whole for just a small part of it’s country’s doing.

What’s going on there is absolutely a violation of basic human rights and terrible but please take a moment to remember half the people don’t even know what is happening outside or inside their country because of how controlling everything is there.

Next, because everything there is decided by the government chinese immigrants have NO control over what happens there heck the people in china barely do. So the hate crimes in the west make no. fucking. sense. You’re not going to reach china by attacking u.a or canadian citizens you’re just adding to unnecessary violence. Elderly people, adults and children of north american citizenship are assaulted, harassed and bullied for somethings they cannot control and it’s terrifying how normalized the hate has become.

To all the chinese people seeing this stay strong, there’s no reason to be ashamed of where you or your family is from or how you look.

Jack - No.

Elijah - He's sweet. He's also very broken. He exhausts me but I love him, even if he doesn't love me the same. I don't know.

Noah - Noah is perfection given human form. I love him. I love him so much. He's so charming. He always seems to have a good handle on things. Sure, he may BABY me a little and that is not appreciated, but it's my fault for coming off as so helpless in the first place. I love him. I don't know what I'd do if he ever was seriously hurt. I love him. I don't deserve his presence. I don't know what I could ever do to make up for everything he's done for me. I don't know why he sticks around me; I'm just some overworked fool, and he is intellect and grace and beauty and.. Oh, I love him. He deserves somebody on his level, and that isn't me.

Steve - A respectable young man. He and his friend get on my nerves, but they're extremely manageable on their own. I don't know why he keeps insisting that I "hang out" with his little friend group. It's sweet, but the invitation is better off spent on somebody else.

Macormic - He's.. a little dull, but he means well. Very shy without Steven. He reminds me of myself when I was younger. A little. Mostly the shy part. He's a sweet kid.

(Elijah's) Dew - She stays in her lane and I stay in mine. Aside from the occasional shenanigans, what with trying to use the place to flirt with customers, she doesn't seem bad. She's a little too boisterous for my tastes, though.

(Jack's) Dew - She doesn't deserve this treatment. She doesn't. I'm not all that familar with her background or anything else of the sort, but I know that she doesn't deserve to be treated the way Jack treats her. It's disgusting. He's disgusting. She's a human being. She doesn't seem to pity me much, but I don't particularly care. I don't want her pity. I want her away from him. It's much better off if I'm the only one having to cope.

Scottie/Scarlett - He.. She..? is very difficult for me to wrap my head around. I don't "get" this gender nonsense, but it's none of my business in the first place, now is it? However, I wish he'd leave me alone. The harassment is less than ideal. Or, at the very least, leave Noah alone- just bother me. Despite my expectations, Scott gets along well with the kids who come in! It seems like he enjoys the job. It's very refreshing.

Nathan - He's wasting his intelligence by sitting in MY house all day, higher than a goddamned kite. I pay the bills. I allow him to stay in my home. And what do I get in return? Nothing but constant belittling and him eating me out of house and home. If I wasn't so worried about him ending up half-dead in a gutter without me, I'd have kicked his ass out a long time ago. Grow up. You're almost 30, Nathaniel. You're too smart to be wasting away like this.

Red - An inconsiderate asshole. I can understand his hatred of me, but at the very least he could try to be reasonable in front of the children. Lord knows how many times he's gone through the whole song and dance of provoking me, upsetting one of the kids because he's insulting their papa, and then having to awkwardly apologize to them and me to save face. Cue tense feigned friendliness for a good three days before it returns to normal. I can admire his protectiveness of them but come on.

Blue - She's broken. I can't figure out how to repair whatever's going on in her artifical brain, but it's reduced her to an almost childlike state, and I fucking hate it. I want my girl back. Shiny trinkets as gifts to add to her collection will never make up for the fact that I let her go into such a state of disrepair.

Rae - My big, excitable puppy.. I adore Rae. She's always trying to cheer me and the children up, and even if it doesn't work, just faking a smile gets her all giddy. I love her.

Billy - Just a bundle of love. Not as nervous as Rae, but equally as desperate for approval. He seems jealous of anybody else who wants to spend time with me. I can only hope he'll come to accept that people will not be exclusively his.

Green - I don't like how calm he is. He thinks he's better than me, doesn't he? But... you know, whatever I feel about him isn't important- he makes the kids happy, and that's all that matters.
