Zombie apocalypse but make it happening in rlly humid tropical country. Not only you gotta survive against the zombies, your number 1 enemy gotta be: ✨heatstroke✨ (for reference it's summer all year unless raining season, even that is one hell of a mother nature's mood swings and 36°c on daily basis, with 60-70%+ of humidity) and what's coming next will be thirst and the smell of decay from the zombies and anything that is dead; everything decays a lot faster in high humidity afterall (and urgh the smell). Even when it rains, it doesn't stay so, it could be raining but the heat? Persists.

You wanna wear smth thicker to protect your skin against the zombie bites? Think again. And also there's no guns, in many households they don't have guns as getting one is real harder than in america. The smell of decay permeates the air semi permanently you will need the industrial gas mask but it's so hot outside, even medical masks will make you sweat a lot.

The traffic during the first few days of apocalypse? Hell. The roads are small, even on normal days there will be traffic no matter what and when there's an outbreak? No hope. Not to mention you gotta fight or survive against the speeding motorcycle riders and 4 wheels drivers trying to get out of the situation bringing their loved ones and themselves to safety.

behold, all art of wit i have including one i havent posted here bc i never actually finished it and the wip of him being a silly giggly boy. pls know i came up with him like MAYBE a month ago. two, tops.

SO wit is actually a what-if au of another oc of mine, his name is doodle. doodle (seen below) is a very robin-hood-esque oc, honorable thief and kindhearted, swashbuckler rogue that dual wields rapiers bc hes insane. but hes insane in like a normal way. he was a horrible child but he did grow out of it and its rare to see him w his hair down so pardon me making him look absurdly pretty in that one.

as you can see there are some (but not MANY) differences between the two. kid wit does have the starry hands/peets im just forgetful dont @ me about it djdjdj

ANYWAYS so the what-if of the au that wit is, essentially, little singular things didn't happen to people in that au world. it goes like so;

wit: never met his childhood best friend when he was a freshly injured orphan. was alone from the (elf) ages of 0-16. ended up studying magic (illusion wizard) since he didn't have someone to lean on for that sort of thing.

laika (wit's mom): never truly broke out of an archfey's madness curse. stuck with a very twisted version of the spell Tasha's Hideous Laughter burned into her mind. everything is funny and if it's scary? even funnier. she died briefly. shes back now, but still madnessed.

perseverance (wit's dad): never saved his mother from a death blow in the be-all end-all fight to save his home. was held back by someone who he thought was a friend, killed that person and then ultimately spiralled so hard that he became a lich. may or may not have accidentally killed laika.

something something one decision can change your whole life, me and my friend loved playing with that concept.

okay now that you know a lil lore/history i can dive into what wit is like.

as a kid (drawn with the short megafloofy hair) he's very mischievous and bastardly, almost always smiling or grinning but it's more to lean into the uncanny valley effect his eyes cause than out of any actual joy or anything. he doesn't Blink and he knows it unnerves people because he also has a freakishly high insight (i think its like a +9 or smth??? at level 9??). he loves to come up with fucked up spells, like. for example i saw a silly post on here the other day that was very jokingly having a wizard cast a spell of "10000 bricks until you die" but then i was immediately aware wit would (1) come up with that spell, make it functional, and have it unfortunately obliterate everyone that gets hit with it, and (2) he would call it Wit's Bricks which i think is fuckin funny. he would also come up with spells of like. cause heatstroke. boil all fluid in your body. FREEZE all fluid in your body. he's a little freak with extremely low empathy for those he isn't connected to with blood ties. that said, he's kind to his family (albeit very blunt and will call them out if theyre being stupid) and inquisitive. he DID look his dad in the eye when he met him for the first time and went "are you dead?" which. again, hilarious, but BRUTALLY blunt. he then called his dad cool because yes his dad is now a lich and therefore undead. he's a little freak but he's still a kid and that is ultimately his saving grace, what small child isn't a little freak.

as an adult (long ponytail) i get a feel of him being aro and using romance as a way to manipulate people. he's definitely still not a good person and far more stoic than he was as a child. also he most definitely maintains a constant illusion to make it seem like his eyes are always closed, which lends an air of mystery to the strange elf that seems to always be standing right behind every throne in every kingdom of faerun. i say this because i like to think he would become what's called a King's Wit, which is like a combo of royal advisor, court mage, and "guy the regent has insult other nobility since insults are beneath the reigning royal". he uses all of that to his advantage, gaining the ear and trust of every single person of noble blood that is part of any royal or ruling court, and he will bend and twist their choices so subtly that they won't realise he led them to ruin until it's already too late. which is his ultimate plan. he's STILL somewhat a robin hood style of character, but he takes it a bit further and with far less kindness to the nobility. he guts their coffers completely and every hoarded coin down to the last copper inevitably will land its way conveniently into the lap of the common folk. he does take a healthy chunk for himself - did you know being a wizard was EXPENSIVE in dnd btw? i didnt until i made wit - but most of it is for the local citizens. he does this everywhere he goes if he sees that it needs to happen. fucker topples kingdoms For Fun, because he never gets caught or credited with the ruin he leaves behind himself. he's awful. he probably still comes up with fucked up spells and he manipulates his way into wherever he wants to be. i love him.

RUBY

behold! @polterpumpkin drew my (not very) little guy for me! this is part of a greater set but this is the fully coloured one and arguably my fave bc it captures the absolute batshit energy ruby brings to the table.

ruby is a tiefling that was born in a lab. voluntarily, his parents participated in a sort of study that wanted to eval why it is tieflings could be born to non-tiefling parents. (both his parents are half-orcs, interestingly!) he participated in it up to a certain point, before he got sick of being poked and prodded and Watched. that's when he demanded to be released and, when he wasn't, both his parents helped him escape, unfortunately leaving his other two tiefling-born siblings behind in the process. both parents Died helping him escape, and he was embittered as is by the whole study bs, and then to have his parents die Saving him? it left him with this sort of hole he didn't know how to feel.

so he fills that hole with every vice he finds agreeable. he drinks, he fights, and he drinks again. he's a drunken monk, and one full of unbridled rage and a death wish. he isn't my happiest oc but he isn't my worst off (that would be talisman bloodhunter). he's constantly seeking a grand and worthy cause to die for, literally. he's a wannabe martyr, because he doesn't think he has anything to live for. no lovers, no friends, no allies, MAYBE a coworker or two on the occasion he's needed (he is so not needed most of the time, because it isn't often any job needs an angry monk tief to glare around the place). he has just those two sides to himself - party animal and underground drunk brawler - because he doesn't want to think about the pain underneath them both. he's tragic in a very human way, hilariously enough, but he's not a bad person. even if he's being dragged by the tail to do a job, he's ultimately going to be helpful and he ALWAYS keeps his team alive. he'll grumble about it but he'll do it, and if you thank him he brushes it off, muttering something or other about how it's just his job, don't Thank him for that. i think having a friend would Fix him but fuck if i know what would get past his thick skin 😔

i dont get to play or write ruby really, not for any specific reason other than the dnd games im in have been going for So long, and that i havent really been super inspired to write him. but i love him! literally my car is named after him! i have so many feelings for him and i hope one day i get to play/write him so he can be more fleshed out.

so . last year i went to a summer camp for queer people and ended up meeting the person who would later become my ex there¹. i only packed two books for my trip there and had read both of them cover to cover halfway in. my ex offered me one of his, a pretty schlocky slenderman retelling formatted like an analogue horror series on print.

i've been thinking abt him recently², and also about that book. i remember it being compelling in a way i can't describe, continually falling short of being good but coming close enough each time that i managed to convince myself that i was going through an extended rough period despite never seeing evidence that there was anything more to the story than what i was being shown

kind of like my relationship with him actually

i should track down that book and reread it i'm curious to see how well it holds up³. maybe i got such a bad case of heatstroke from that trip that i hallucinated everything i remembered (almost) liking about it lmao

¹ i say ex but we were never...technically in a relationship? situationship AT BEST but i still call him my ex because every gay person has at least one crazy ex by the time they turn 30 (and if you don't it means you're the crazy ex) and i'm hoping that if i call him my ex i can kind of speak that truth out into the universe and nip the whole crazy ex problem in the bud

I'm playing a Pokémon Platinum Nuzlocke and I just reached Victory Road. And I have a lot of thoughts

When I first beat Pokémon Platinum, when I was probably like 12 or smth, I remember that I stayed up late to play knowing I was so close to reaching Victory Road. "Just a minute longer," I had told myself as I fought sleep, "I just need to get to Victory Road." And when I got there, and I heard Pokémon League (Night), I just couldn't help but just... freeze. And listen

It was the first time I had ever appreciated a song from a game so deeply. It moved me, calmed me, in a way no video game soundtrack ever had until that point

So tonight I recreated that. After getting thru the route leading up to Victory Road, I made sure to set my DS aside until I could lie in bed tonight and climb up the waterfall. And now I'm here listening to that lovely song again. But after all I've been thru on this Nuzlocke, it... hits different. In a good way

This is my first Nuzlocke. Well, not my *first* first, but the first I've ever truly intended on seeing through to the end. I've dabbled in Nuzlockes before, but I would always get either too bored or too stressed, or some weird contradictory mix of both

This one almost met the same fate, quite a few months ago. I lost two Pokémon to my first battle against Jupiter, and another shortly before, due to preventable mistakes I made out of panic. And leading up to Fantina, I was terrified. I knew she and her Mismagius had the potential to be total run-killers, and I was afraid. It took a couple months just to psyche myself up for the fight

But I prepared, and I did it anyway — and I won. Completely deathless!

And that was my moment where I realized I could do this, that this wasn't so bad, that it should be fun instead of scary. And realizing that was very freeing. Suddenly I was having more fun with this playthrough than I had with Pokémon in general in quite a long time. I've made my way thru the rest of the game and eventually ended up here

And it's so awesome! After all the tough losses, the great triumphs, the Pokémon I've caught and befriended along the way, the ups and downs and in-betweens, it feels almost surreal to know I'm this close to the end. And honestly? Idk if I want it to end yet. Not when I'm having this much fun

Not to mention how much I love the team I have rn, how I've found sm joy and excitement in using Pokémon I wouldn't think to before, and all my memories in this journey with them

Heatstroke, the Infernape, my starter who's been with me all this time. I never liked the Chimchar line before; no reason, just never felt drawn to it. But I picked Heatstroke for a utilitarian reason, knowing he'd be my best bet on getting me thru this, and I don't have a single regret in doing so. I still chuckle to myself remembering how my strategy for Candice was to give Heatstroke Choice Specs and let him go haywire with Flamethrower (with some additional help from the late Morninstar the Scizor)

Hurricane, the Gyarados, the powerhouse sea serpent whose sheer force has brought down anyone in his path. I keep fearing he'll fall to the Water-Type Curse (I have three dead Water types) but he's surprised me with how well he's holding on. He's the Pokémon who's carried me across the seas upon his back and I feel grateful I got to have such a strong Water-type on my side

Summer, the Roserade, who's a random Shiny I found just outside of Floraroma. I used the Shiny clause to catch her and use her on my team, and she's been quite a valuable asset. Her Stun Spore helps me capture my newest encounters, and her Toxic Spikes are great for setup. She's not often one to carry fights in her own, but she supports the rest of her team, and I can't think of a Grass-type 'Mon I'd prefer

Diamant, the Rampardos, the newest addition to the team, but nonetheless a valuable one with his heavy hitting physical attacks and his physical bulk. While he's yet to get much of an individual time to shine, due to having been added to the team right before my ascent to Spear Pillar, I'm excited to see how he may fare against the tough battles to come

Matrix, the Rotom, who's consistently surprised me with their bulk and power all throughout my adventures with them. I found out the Secret Key could only be accessed thru a limited time event and it bothered me. Why lock a gimmick Pokémon gimmick, its whole reason for existing, behind a time limit? So full disclosure, I kinda cheated it in out of pure spite. I didn't think it'd be a big deal, seeing as it didn't change Rotom's type or stats until later gens. But Matrix ended up carrying me thru two gyms and helped greatly during a third. Uh, oops?

And Venom, the Gliscor, whose surprising inability to learn Fly has been outweighed by her sheer strength, speed, and tenacity. She just got me thru Volkner's gym with ease, and has been a mainstay on the team for quite some time, even helping out against Maylene, so I'm glad she's got some time in the spotlight. I went from feeling pretty neutral towards Gliscor but liking its design, to now feeling that it's among my favorite Pokémon. Venom is absolutely awesome!

All of these Pokémon have carried me thru this journey, and that's not even mentioning the Pokémon who have retired to the Box, or died valiantly in battle. And now, suddenly, I'm here at the end. And as bittersweet as it is, I'm determined to see this thru. I will complete this challenge!

I'm gonna mop the floor with Sinnoh's Elite Four. Then I have some more casual playthrough's I'd like to complete. But after that?

Honestly, I think I'm gonna start another Nuzlocke

Went to the beach for the first time this year like 2 days ago. The sun was vicious so i almost got a heatstroke, then smth stung my right ankle when i got into the water & we got ice creams we forgot to eat.

But! I was out topless with all the other girlies there, Hercules was randomly playing on TV when we went back to the cabin so we watched that while having lunch before heading to the small port & jumping into the water. Swam for a little in the bay right before leaving & it was like being in heaven. & after all I didn’t even get a sunburn! ☀️💛

I was looking through my timeline trying to figure out when would make the most sense for this (which also included: has Johnny outed himself yet) and I ended up deciding 2014 makes the most sense because well, in 2012 Peter will be locked in a basement during June, and in 2013 he would be busy with Electro and finishing grad school, but 2014 is like... right after he and Flash get married so I can easily imagine Johnny being like "c'moooon Spidey, let's dress up together, you just got gay*-married" etc. and, well, peter does like to dress up... (otherwise he wouldn't be in spandex all the time 😂)

normally I avoid metallic or shiny spandex like the plague for suit designs cause I think it looks cheap but I made an exception for this 😂 it probably IS cheap...

I thought it would be fun if the lens frames were sparkly... normally I have his frames out of vulcanized black rubber (like car tire rubber) (...like might actually be carved from old tires) just cause I prefer the matte and slightly soft look compared to plastic... I figure something like sparkly firm silicone or sparkly plastic is probably pretty achievable for Peter to make. And the lenses would just be his normal bulletproof lenses but with an iridescent film on the outside to make them a little rainbowy...

and I think in 2014 irl holographic glitter spandex was like... something that existed that you could buy lol so i figure he can very carefully sew a holographic spider on.... so the spiders are like, that silvery white rainbow glitter kind of look

no webbing because there's a limit to how much labor and time peter would be willing to put into a flashy, kind of useless costume that he wouldn't be able to/want to wear very often... (and i wasn't a fan of how it looked)

it's difficult to come up with body-covering outfits that are suitable for summer weather as-is but the fact that he's wearing polyester spandex underneath really adds a layer of "i'm going to get heatstroke and die" to this outfit. lots of linen though. at least the armpits are athletic mesh.

also yeah the spidey shirt is a leotard with a snap crotch so. he's really just hoping that doesn't unroll under his clothes cause it would absolutely hang down very visibly from under his shirt if it were to fall. (maybe he can use his electrostatic sticking powers to just. hold it in place...)

he also can't roll down the waistband of his tights because it's more rigid than the rest of his costume on account of that's where he keeps all his spare web cartridges and it would suck if they all fell out LOL
