with all the sources that the master of chaldea can summon from, it's no surprise that one from the land of a fictional story is available to them. the character of "zhongli" from teyvatian myhology is summonable in two forms: a lancer self, which is that of the modern man, zhongli, and a ruler self, himself as the god of commerce, earth, and war, morax.

for zhongli, he is the more defense and support focused of the two, while morax is much more attack based but still with a significant bulk. the lancer's noble phantasm is planet befall, summoning a massive meteor to rain down upon foes. while his ruler self's noble phantasm is creation of guyun, instead making use of the massive stone spears he'd once created the eponymous rock formation from.

are there any ways to make ffxiv level grinding easier? i'm trying conjurer at the moment and i find the level grinding to be very tedious at times

im going to assume you’re asking cause conjurer/whm isn’t ur main and u don’t have access to the MSQ experience, which would be my first suggestion for anyone looking to level up of course. just play the MSQ. but since, again, im assuming this is an alt job, here are some tips (you should be doing these anyway tbh)

1. buy a shit ton of boiled eggs cheap from any city’s food vendor and always have ur food buff on, that 3% exp bonus adds up

2. get ur hands on accessories that give u an exp buff on top of that. this includes things like the “brand new ring” or if you’ve preordered dawntrail you can use the azeyma’s earrings for an exp buff lasting all the way to 90

3. if you’re in a free company, use company actions to have “the heat of battle” running in the background as you level, which is a company-wide exp bonus. if you’re not in a free company, then by leveling up your grand company squadron (the little AI bot characters u can take into ARR dungeons) u can unlock “squadron missions”. one of these missions will reward you with a set of scrolls that give you the same exp bonus as the heat of battle, no free company needed, but it only lasts a couple hours as opposed to the heat of battle’s 12+. u can stock up as many as u want though, it just takes a bit for the bots to run the mission.

4. DO YOUR ROULETTES. the roulettes that are going to give you the absolute best bang for your buck in terms of leveling are: leveling (duh), main scenario roulette, frontline (this one is very easy to ignore but you really shouldn’t, it’s a TON of exp), and alliance raid. these should get you at least a full level or two every day at higher levels, and sometimes way more if you’re early enough. but half of them don’t unlock until 50.

5. do wondrous tails! if you’ve finished heavensward and you have idyllshire unlocked, you can also unlock wondrous tails! wondrous tails is a book with a weekly checklist of duties to take part in, and each one grants you a sticker. if you get all 9 stickers from doing any duties in the set, you can then turn the book into rewards. this is the important part: a finished wondrous tales book will give you EXACTLY HALF of the exp required for your next level up, no matter what number it is. and this exp bonus will apply to whatever job you TURN THE BOOK IN on. doesn’t matter how or as what job you did the duties themselves as, just equip the job right before you turn your book in and viola. free half a level. you do this every week, it’s very easy!

6. leveling white mage (or any healer) specifically, your main focus if you’ve run out of roulettes and are just wanting to get the absolute best exp bang for your buck in the shortest amount of time possible: do dungeons. just run your most recently available dungeons as much as possible. dungeons give a TON of exp, and healers have easily the shortest queue times of any role in the game. repeat ur most recent dungeon unless the level number ends in a 0. level 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90 dungeons give crap exp because they were designed with level caps in mind. they give other good rewards sometimes, but while you’re focused on leveling, avoid those.

I went to the devils vs ducks game today and was on bench cam lockdown so here are some funny moments I got on video:

-jack shimmying down the entire bench to get to luke on the opposite end to talk about something and then making his way back to his spot (jack really likes sitting by the doors in the corner)

-jack, nico, and i think timo smelling salts including jack jumping up and down on the bench (his signature lil hops)

-at the end of the 1st, the entire bench leaves except jack who is in his corner on the iPad; when he realizes the whole team is gone, he flings the iPad and makes his way down the bench to the tunnel

there’s so many other moments but I’m not sure what the broadcast got on camera or not. I also got lots of videos of nico and jack in general :3

-for some strange reason, despite its aim to destroy the universe, something seems to stop it from doing so... an internal conflict, perhaps?

-magolor, susie, an injured meta knight, and various refugees (ie fairies from ripple star) take the place of kirby as a ragtag resistance group trying to survive and find a way to stop star dream and an unknown, new evil force in a lopsided three way war

-their main base of operations is a hybrid spaceship made of the halberd, the lor starcutter, and parts scavenged from haltmann tech and shiver star and other misc sources

-star dream, having possessed popstar and many residents and planets, turns landscapes into blame esq warped distortions of themselves, with a fiersome robot-ified army to its name- including adeleine, dedede, etc

a silly little theory about TF2 and its team's !!

Sooo, i was playin some TF2 yesterday, and i stopped to think about somethin: "how the fuck are there multiple of the same mercs?", "how the fuck are there 2 soldiers, both being on opposing teams?", "why the fuck does my team have 8 spies?" well, i think i've figured it out !! So, lets get into it!

THE CLONE THEORY SORTA SUCKS, ACTUALLY

look, i know clones can be cool, and they make sense in the world of TF2, but cmon, its kinda lame. But i got something better. There arent multiple of the same mercs in each team, or in opposing teams. Why? The game aint canon. I know this sounds wild, but i have proof. In the catch up comic, saxton hale himself refers to Team Fortress 2 as a dramatized version of the actual events of the gravel wars.

now, im not saying the mercs arent crazy or wacky, i do firmly believe they are indeed like that, but that means that shit like the unnarmed combat aint canon. And it also means that multiple of the same mercs dont necessarily exist, which means that it could be just our nine main boys fighting each other without like, 7 engineers on the same team. Alrighty, the clone theory's solved, right? Aw shit, it aint.

ABOUT THE TEAM SWAPS:

the mercs constantly switch teams.

i know, it sounds sorta nuts, BUT, i got a theory. RED and BLU constantly try to steal the other team's mercenaries. "the fuck you mean by that?" well, i sorta like to think that the RED mercs constantly receive letters from BLU saying that if they join BLU they'll get a salary three times bigger than the one that they get from RED. And the same thing applies for the mercs on BLU, but with letters coming from RED instead. So, we got that figured out, the mercs constantly switch teams because they want a higher salary.

Now lets address the elephant in the room, the "meet the team" trailers.

THE MEET THE TEAM VIDEOS ARE PROPAGANDA FOR THE PEOPLE OF BADWATER.

I mean, thats pretty much confirmed. Look at this:

but you may wonder: "then how the fuck does shit like meet the medic happen, cause like, yknow, that scene with a fucking horde of soldiers trynna kill medic and heavy" well, this may sound like a stretch, but since its propaganda, i believe engineer could have done some wacky shit to create shit like that. I've got 2 explanations:

explanation number 1: engineer did some wacky as fuck shenanigans to create those hordes of enemies.

as the title says, since engineer is a very, very, very smart little fella, he could've just done some wacky computer magic to create the soldiers present in meet the medic, and by wacky computer magic i mean he just edited the movie to include those soldiers with CGI or some shit like that. (i know tf2 happens in 1969, but if engineer can build a fucking teleporter then he can do CGI)

explanation number 2: ROBOTS !!!!!

this one is ten times more flawed than the first one, but since engi is a very smart little dwarf, he could've just built robots that would act and look like solly and would also try to kill medic and heavy.

so, this one is more up to your choice, but i do consider respawning canon. "how tho?" you might ask? I have 0 fucking clue, maybe some teleporter and australium shenanigans?? I dunno man. But thats up to ya!

Well im back now and I have found my history notebook (debating whether I should throw it away but I did a good job decorating it)

so. @igotthisaccountunderduress let me tell you about Aaron Burr.

Aaron burr was an orphan raised by an uncle, went to lawschool, stopped lawschool to fight under benedict arnold (ha. ha. ha. this really shouldn't be that funny but it is -> benedict arnold was a traitor from US to British ppl). He got appointed to George Washingtons personal military cabinet before both men realized they got a long like stray cats (not very well at all) and Burr was transferred to some other not-as-important dude.

Then him and hamilton got Beef (very famously) but this kind of all started when Burr beat out Hamiltons Father In Law in political stuff and then FIL beat out Burr during the next thing so things are all dandy.

And then he got in as vice president under jefferson. How this worked back then (doesn't now) is that whoever got the Most Votes is now in charge and whoever got second most votes is now VP.

As you can imagine this doesn't lead to really great coworker dynamics especially if you and ur boss/vp are like so opposite. Like when Thomas Jefferson was VP to president John Adams, Adams hated Jefferson so much that he didn't let Jeffy have a say in anything. Like thomas Jefferson did one thing once in all the two terms John Adams was in charge I think, idk, it was something rediculous.

But anyway, all this to say, Aaron Burr is now vp under jefferson. And as you can imagine, they do not get along well (Jefferson accused burr of 'secret dealings'). but their differences are mainly due to opposing beliefs on whether we should support or rewrite the constitution fo the united states.

Anyway, time for reelection, Burr doesn't get enough votes for either presidency or VP and he decides to try and get governership of New York where he was actually really popular.

Remember how hamilton didn't really like him becus of burr's political campaign against his FIL? Hammy decides to send a rediculous amount of irl subtweets (derogatory letters) against Burr to get him to lose.

Burr takes this very personal and challenges Hamilton to a duel, stepping from across New York to New Jersey. This is because, although duels were outlawed in both places, penalties were less severe over the border.

Now take this next part with a grain of salt bc it comes direct from the history prof.

Duels were common; but they were never usually fatal. Essentially it was like lukewarm Christians going through the motions on a sunday in church. A lot of the stereotypes still apply. Two people back to back, walked a x amount of feet, turned around and would usually shoot upward or otherwise shoot to miss the target.

Burr was not one of those people. Alledgedly, he told Hamilton he meant to kill him and he didn't care wether hamilton would try to shoot him or not. No one's sure whether hamilton was like "haha bet" and tried to kill him or whether he was like shooting up in the air as the practice usually went. Either way sum of that was Burr: 1 (unharmed), Hamilton: 0 (very much shot due to Burr's word, and died the following day).

Aaron Burr... idk if he didn't think this through but he's now considered a murderer for challenging Hamilton to an agreed-upon duel. So he runs to join his new BFF who is secretly in the pay of pain and wants to take over the US napoleonic style. Burr gets *to into it* to the point BFF turns him into Jefferson. He gets cleared.

he then gets involved with the Essex Junto, an organization in New England, tries to help the secede from the entire country (New England hated US before it was cool to) and then he did the same thing again somewhere in the middle west (I forgot where, sorry Dr. W). He gets away both times because even though Jefferson hates Burr's stupid guts, John Marshall is head of the supreme court (John Marshall also hates Jefferson sees this as a very innocent way to undermine him) and Marshall creates the definition of reason that we still have today that basically says Burr gets off scot free twice because we're not at war so there's no enemy for Burr to be helping.

Burr finally accepts that he is now a persona non grata and fucks back off to NY where he marries a second widow for money (again) and she divorces him on the grounds of adultery. This divorce finally is finalized on the day Aaron Burr dies.

ok SORYYYYYY ive been sititng on this ask forever number 1 because i was trying to figure out a way to explain without well explaining like 75% of the entire plot of yakuza 0 in detail and also more importantly number 2 Sometimes lowkey i get kind of embarrassed talking about stuff i really like………………. but its ok....................

anwyasy BRIEF PLOT RUNDOWN. FOR THE UNINITIATED: <- i typed that sentence fragment and then it very quickly turned into a complete lie this is not brief at all. if you want brief go look at wikipedia or something idgaf anyways im linking it in a separate post go read >here<. well anwyasy you can take solace in the fact after reading all of that that the answer to your question is like a fourth of the length LOLLL but take my little majimako mini essay.......:

ultimately majima's story in y0 is one of complete lack of agency - between the hit (which further still was just him and saejima as pawns in someone's much much larger scheme, not that either of them found that out until way later), the year of torture, being labor trafficked under constant surveillance and being threatened/actively beaten when he steps out of line, and when he finally decides to do something himself regardless of the consequences by protecting makoto instead of killing her, that too was him playing right into shimano's hands. even his one true real act of agency in deciding to kill dojima is both thwarted and exploited by sera, and in the end is dubbed the mad dog of shimano - of course its ambiguous how much of the mad dog persona is an act in terms of becoming completely unpredictable so to prevent people from using him like a tool again and how much of it is genuinely part of his personality and how much the line's blurred over the years to where the mask becomes the true self and all that, but the fact of the matter is that even when he does act like an insane person he's still very much on shimano's leash, which is kind of sickening and also really fascinating when taken within the context of the end of y0 where essentially he says hes gonna do whatever the hell he wants from now on.

anyways back to the point at hand obviously this is a really really really interesting decision to make for his story both because 1) frankly its the kind of storyline that is much more commonly given to female characters, not one of the most popular men in your franchise about the yakuza, and 2) more importantly because it directly parallels makoto's. which in generally honestly i feel is pretty rare in and of itself for m/f duos, but like sooooo so interesting given that one of the most pivotal parts of her story is her history as a sex trafficking victim. like because generally i feel like in stories like these when the topic of sexual abuse comes up, the victims are treated as frankly alien and unknowable and purely objects of pity as opposed to. Well you know. people. both by the characters and the narrative itself.

y0 avoids this however by setting up majima and makoto as parallels both through their history (having been put through an extended period of torture as well as their vision being taken away for chasing after a brother they ended up losing as well as the sex/labor trafficking) but also their present story in the game - they spend the whole thing getting jerked around and treated as either barely ranking above a living sack of meat or alternatively a means to an end as opposed to people by everyone else around them as part of some insane overarching plot they have barely any context for for the majority of the game, any grasp they make at agency is met either with someone there to exploit it or violent retribution, and in the end they are completely powerless to do to basically anything at all.

like theyre two insanely miserable people having one of the worst times of their lives and by the end of it all they have is each other because everyone else is dead and gone but even this is a deeply temporary situation because if they somehow both make it out alive then its the end of their story together - if majima continues to associate with her while remaining in the yakuza it would paint a massive blaring target on her back that would only serve to put them through this again and again and again, which he would absolutely refuse to do and frankly which she would not want. like the circumstances which brought them together and allowed them to understand each other on a front unmatched by anybody else in their lives either before or after this point also dictate that they cannot ever stay with each other. its like "in another life" but there is no other life because a world that would allow them to be with each other is a world in which they are entirely different people.

the other reason that i reaaaaaaaally really like them is that it wouldve been sooooooooo so easy for rgg to make makotos story be completely co-opted by majima and a stupid romance subplot and they decidedly chose not to. like shimano's whole stupid insane plan that frankly was held together by 3 shoestrings and a prayer completely hinges on makoto falling in love with majima so that she'll do whatever he asks of her - namely handing over the lot, which she doesnt even want anyways - and when it comes to it she spits on the idea because SHE DOESNT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT ANY OF THAT!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE WANTS THOSE GUYS WHO KILLED HER BROTHER DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PAINFULLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what majima thinks she should do is a great concept but she wants blood. like yes ill admit the bar is on the floor but truly most cannot even begin to fathom clearing it. like when i was first playing i was sooooooo i was so scared because they had this phenomenal set up and i knew it would be sooo easy for them to make it shlock but they did NOT!!!! THEY DIDNT!!!!!!!!!! which is frankly astounding for this studio because "Sorry but her long lost brother just died in front of her i think the last thing she wants to do right now is make out with some guy" has not stopped rgg before. But it did today. more seriously though its really and truly so important to me that she is very much her own character with her own life outside of him and like when we get an update on her 20 years later shes married and has a kid and is happy and living her best life!!!!!

one last thing that i reaaaaaaally looove about this relationship is frankly kind of how insanely altruistic it is on majimas end. like genuinely it kind of makes me sick how he has no expectation of like any sort of benefit in it for him theres nothing he wants other than for her to be happy and hes very much aware that this means that he can never be a part of her life and of course it makes him miserable because he cares about her so much but again because he cares he'd make the decision to never let her know who he is again and again and again like im going to start eating glass and such. well whatever ill leave you with the ending of majima's kiwami 2 karaoke song and drive off a cliff

im really new to writing stuff in tumblr and hot takes in general so apologies if this isnt a hot take at all

i feel like this years phrenzy is extremely grindy, despite the measures and mechanics aidn put to lessen it. getting a high enough total highscore for the 5% threshold is nearly close to impossible for regular/casual players (which im assuming here is those from lvl 0-175 and is at least 60% of the playerbase). as for the 1% threshold, thats like a dream and something i myself cant even achieve.

based on my own highscores, one would mostly need at least 17-20+ kills with 4 or less deaths and a good amount of assists on all three phighter highscores to reach the threshold without grinding all the way to 10k total points. (no offense but) its highly unlikely that those in the aforementioned level area would be able to do so unless their teammates coordinate and perform extremely well while the opposing team doesnt during katana or ban rounds, which leans a lot toward rng. as for other phighter rounds with more varying scenarios that isnt gathering around and dying like flies, its either team coordination and cooperation or just pure raw skill with the given phighter (with help from teammates from time to time), so it leans again on some rng.

the grind for 10k total points didnt bother me or seem like much since i was able to dish out an average of 100 points every round with almost every phighter and get around 1.2k points every hour (for reference im level 275-300). i had around 2.5k points before the thresholds were released, so i managed to get 10k points in 6 hours in one day.

having heard that someone grinded 10 HOURS only to get 580 points is both jaw dropping and extremely concerning, considering how there are also people playing in longer lengths with little to no breaks. it just shows how much of a grindfest this phrenzy really is for the majority of players, and its honestly saddening. i really hope people are taking the time to enjoy the phrenzy (and the game in general) once in a while without focusing too much on grinding their time and health away for difficult-to-achieve requirements.

to anyone out there still grinding during the phrenzy, PLEASE remember to take breaks and prioritize your own physical and mental wellbeing over a silly block game with in-game rewards. /srs

I OC-fied Tartaglia a few days ago but I just got around to thinking about his whole character and lore, and it hit me that I can just put his ass in Apeiron <3 I'd like to have an OC in each faction but we'll see how much my attention span lasts

BUT! THIS MF.

I want him to be from Apeiron specifically because the idea of an integer or equally valid number within the island acting like the most fucking feral irrational number is so funny to me. a complete betrayal of the scriptures but that somehow ends up making sense, so you cannot be mad because He Still Operates Within What Was Expected. a guy whose entire existence is just ANNOYING AND IRRITATING AND INSUFFERABLE. perhaps he's a fraction, I'm not sure yet. I'm not looking forward to researching numbers to find one that suits him thematically and shit

most likely considered a genius in an unconventional way, not similar at all to 37. more like still following the theme of opposing/overstepping while working within the guidelines. so maybe something to contrast her

37's talent for numbers is explained as an innate ability to see the numbers in everyone and see their true essence, which causes her to be isolated from the physical world and the people of her own community because she does not experience nor care about reality the same way others do. its impossible to try and understand her, because her insight is so vastly unique, but she can still provide solid proof to support her discoveries with no problem at all, as seen when she confirmed Vertin's number is 0. she cares about the scriptures and numbers, and yet she likes taking the chance to discover one's number away from others just because she can be the first one to do it

so im thinking. Aianteia could be the opposite. he cannot see the numbers in people like her, but their true Forms. the perfect geometrical shapes that can only exist in the abstract world of Forms, impossible to achieve beyond a close approximation. and because he essentially sees the "beauty" in people, he cares for the community, he is friendly and often befriends others rather easily. but he can't fucking explain why he sees the world Like That. nor provide any proof as to why someone is This Form or That Form. which renders him totally useless within Apeiron, because of the importance of proof. he cares about people figuring out their number, to discover themselves and whatnot--he cares so much that he will gladly show you which Form you're meant to be, the way the universe intended it

and THIS is when the themes of battle and war and carnage come into play. when it comes to irrational numbers or the impure, Aianteia connects their "floating points" and knows exactly what to do to purify them. to make their bodies as pure as their Forms. im saying that he basically sees fancy ass geometrical shapes and lines that let him know where to start cutting and slashing and killing. this is something he does out of genuine love and care, so that those who cant even DREAM of studying the scripture can get a fair chance at discovering their number, as irrational as it may be. all they have to do is survive

im thinking. that his scars are self-inflicted because he attempted to do the exact same thing to himself. and he survived. and he figured out his number this way. he cannot explain why or how or give proof as to why he knows THIS is his number (in a way, similar to how 37 knew from birth that THIS was her number) but i like to think that 77 took a good look at him and went "hes right." and everyone had to just. accept that this guy, most likely a very young teenager, found out his number THROUGH THE "WRONG" WAY

WHICH. IN TURN. FALLS WITHIN WHAT 37 INSISTS DURING CHAPTER 05--numbers are the eternal truth because no matter when or where or how you prove something, you and the person at the other side of the planet will come up with the same result. Aianteia has an entirely different approach that led to the same conclusion as 77's mother. once again, the issue is that this is something that cannot be corrected nor given proof. relating to the gnosis of an arcanist, and how arcanum is not a viable method of study because it cannot be verified by a third party. my brain is making connections at the speed of SOUND. anyway. the issue is that he's RIGHT. which would make him a fraction, potentially, since 37 describes them like this

so he can be understood through specific means, but no one can figure out WHICH means exactly

I do think that he starts out genuinely wanting to help people achieve their purest self, and somewhere down in the middle of the road he started to have a little too much fun with the idea of being the hand that brings Forms to the world of Matters. and then as he spends more and more time outside of Apeiron, it becomes a dog eat dog mentality, whoever survives gets to be their truest, purest Form -> the strongest get to impose their ideals onto the rest. Aianteia SAYS that he's doing this to uphold the scriptures and defend them in the outside world, and this is partially true as a childish leftover desire from his initial journey. but really, its all about getting the shit beaten out of him and beating the shit out of others now to see who earns the right to live

if the Storm has been going on for 7 years, it started when he was 19, so im thinking he was around 14-15 when he left Apeiron during one of those expeditions. and they let him go specifically because pretty much everyone wanted him gone

from what I remember, both Manus and the Foundation existed BEFORE the Storm? so im willing to say that Aianteia joined Manus before the first Storm ever. but i also dont want to think too hard on time logistics because we dont have the full timeline of the game yet

0. I really dont understand the glorification of manga over anime adaptations. Like people who are making the adaptation are not artists and creators themselves? What makes mangaka better than others and absolutely indisputable, seriously?

1. 'Oh no long introduction and fillers' that actually allowed for Hughes' character development before his death. Seriously if i mention his death among my homies I'll get lots of faces clearly going through some ptsd level flashbacks, it was that impactful. I still need to take a breather when im rewatching before diving into that ep.

2. Nina. Yet again got more time to grow on us and thus aquired higher trauma inducing levels.

3. Ishval massacre and aftermath are WAY MORE VISIBLE in fma03. First of all Ishvalans are depicted as human beings, and not some background, and we get lots more on their sufferings, raids on camps, racism towards them, etc etc etc

4. Scar. Oh boi how do i even go about this. So without raging much about that beefy obviously wrong dude who got 'sense' bitten into him and started working with the oppressing gov in fmab, we have a wronged and tormented survivor of a genocide, who was justified in his vengeance and rage, was depicted as an attractive person of color despite his antagonistic role and was seriously almost cheered on in his actions by the narrartive. His interactions with his people and his moral dilemmas made his character possibly the deepest and most thought out one in the series.

5. The Rockbell doctors being killed by their own government. That's a waaaaay more interesting and damning detail on our government affiliated protagonists than just dumping their murder on a delirious patient.

6. Homunculi had their own will and desires and a way more developed story arc that had a huge impact on protagonists' morals. Being created by the humans who were desperate to bring back their loved ones and both parties are getting tormented by it?? Characters strongly driven by their own goals and staggered by their relations to their creators vs some indifferent goons in fmab. Just compare Sloths and their impact on the stories and protags.

7. Final conflict being a fight with god and his intricate plans in fmab, versus final battle vs a selfish pretty much usual person who had thrown everyone under the bus in pursuit of immortality. Adds so much more desperation flavor. Suddenly your hero journey doesn't end in epic battle for the sake of the mankind, as you would like it to be. It's just to oppose one awful person with too much power and zero care about anyone else. That's raw and that's way more plausible and relatable in our mundane lives.

8. Overall darker tone and themes of the fma03.

9. MUSIC. I dont remember a single track from fmab, but i went really out of my way in my teenage years to find internet access and pirate fma soundtrack and cry listening to it

10. ART. Sorry but don't tell me fmabs flat colors are anything to 03's soft tones and lighting

Julian personality styles brainrot. . .

so i was taking personality tests on behalf of julian devorak, as one does, and i thought this was actually kind of interesting.

disclaimer: while i believe this is pretty true to julian as a character, it's probably at least a little biased because i did answer based on how -> I <- see him, so it might not align with your opinion.

**also, any terms used in this are NOT talking about or diagnosing any disorder, just used as ways to describe a personality. this is a for fun test and isn't meant to be taken very seriously. (i.e., scoring "histrionic" does NOT mean this is a representation of hpd). ok? ok.

the results i got (or the results that Julian got) were "Multiple Personality Styles," which basically means i either pressed "agree" too much or he has more than one equally prominent personality style. tied for first, as you can see in the image, are "histrionic" and "depressive". the idea that these two personality styles are expressed equally in julian is lowk funny to me, but also makes perfect sense. those two go hand in hand when it comes to his personality.

histrionic is defined as "overly theatrical or melodramatic in character or style"

depressive personality is related to traits that include (but are not limited to) nonassertiveness, gloominess, self-criticism, low self-esteem, guilt, and anxiety. depressive and histrionic seem to contradict a bit, but julian is a PTSD-ridden, depressed, flamboyant bisexual theater kid who loves people. that's a lot. and if anyone would have two strong personality styles concurrently, it's him.

his next highest is "masochistic" which is, well. yeah.

3rd place is hypomanic, hypomania being considered a milder version of mania (elevated mood or energy, overactivity, etc). this makes sense once again, since we know he can be restless and energetic, has consistent difficulty with sleep, and even worked so hard during the plague that he apparently didn't even notice his apprentice (potentially his love interest, depending on your interpretation), getting sick.

im not going to discuss everything on here, but i do want to define the 0% ones. Sadistic means hurting others and enjoying it, Narcissistic is inflated sense of pride (and a sensitive ego), Negativistic is opposing what other people say and do, and Schizoid is characterized with aloofness and being solitary. for all of these, - for the reason that julian is very sociable, selfless, and doesn't want to hurt a fly - 0% is the right level in my eyes.

so long story short. i just wanted to share these silly personality test results. it makes me understand why valdemar wanted to dissect julian's brain so much (though i will never support that). this was kind of a mess but really im just brainrotting and i don't post that often so 😭

OMG YES! i love it when people comment on my fics like so so much but a lot of the times there’s at least a few ‘part 2??’ type of comments. (also a lot of the time the asking for a part 2 is the only engagement they give) while im not opposed to the idea of writing a part two, i usually don’t have any ideas for a part two because most of the things i write are meant to be 1 parters and so if i can’t think of anything sometimes ill ask them what they’d like to see in a part 2 or if they want to send in a request for it but they never respond? i hope it doesn’t seem like i want them to basically come up with the idea for me but im just kinda confused on why people ask for a part 2 on something i wrote when it doesn’t seem like they’re really that serious about wanting to see more because it’s happened at least 3 times now.

anyways, i hope your day is going good (and if it isn’t i hope that changes soon :/ <3) and that those delusional obsessive weirdos learn to fuck off and stop making shit up

okay, idk if people have noticed this, but I have started putting disclaimers on my fics. I have literally had to put disclaimers at the end of my fics saying 'this is meant to be a oneshot, so please to not comment asking for a part 2' - and comments on my oneshots have gone down so much since I started doing this. I have gotten way less comments on my oneshots because of this. (because people don't want to talk about the actual fic, they just want to ask for more.)

because I couldn't handle the mental strain of getting a notification of a comment, getting excited about it, and then opening that comment to see 'part 2?' or 'omg you need to continue this' - when the ending was very purposeful and it was a oneshot for a reason. especially smut. like just because I don't include both partners having an orgasm and pillow talk, people demand that it's incomplete. people saying 'when are you gonna finish this fic' kills me. it is finished. (kill me, please. you need to kill me.)

and like sometimes I never think that I would ever write a second part to a fic, but positive comments encourage it. my Gleggie fic Hold Me Tight Or Don't - a fic where the main character fucking dies - is a very open and shut case for a fic without a sequel. because the main character IS DEAD. but someone in the comments made a joke about being in their 'Ellie Williams era' because they wanted to mentally deny the sad ending, and it sparked a whole idea for me where the reader character is immune and lives instead. and that fic is currently in my drafts and I am excited about finishing it in the future.

that is the power that engaging comments can have - it can spawn a whole new fic from a place where there was a dead end plot with absolutely 0 potential

and for reference, to all fic readers/commenters out there - if you really like a fic and you are really excited about the idea of a possible sequel to it, here is how you go about asking for it:

go to the writer's ask box or their DMs - open up a line of communication that is separate from the comment section of that fic

tell them that you really loved that fic, and tell them a reason why - the writer will want to know that you are supporting their work, and that you're not just asking for more fanfiction because you're bored

politely ask if they would consider writing a sequel or a continuation to that work

and maybe, in the same message, pose some possible ideas or concepts for that follow up

so, something like "hey, I really loved Hold Me Tight Or Don't. I love the way you contrast the themes of sex and death. but I couldn't help but to wonder what would happen if the reader was immune and survived. would you ever consider writing a follow up or a sequel to it? if not, that's okay."

(fyi, even on works where I have said I do not want to make a sequel, I am open to these ^^ kind of messages if you are particularly interested in one of my works having a possible sequel. the circumstances for each of my works having a sequel is different in every case)
