What would prevent you from following someone?

//honestly, if you don’t have at least one rp reply on the first page of your blog, i am extremely unlikely to follow you.  i want to see if our styles are compatible, and i should not have to go 5+ pages back in your writing blog to find any examples of your writing.  i follow this rule myself and try to set up my queue in such a way where it won’t push my writing back too far in my blog so that people will always have at least one IC post on the first page of my blog.  for example, if i’m going on vacation, i set my queue to only post one post a day so i can leave it for a couple of days and still have the most recent IC post on page 1.

and speaking of incompatible styles, i’m very unlikely to follow if i see that you mostly do short < 100 word threads.  liking short threads is perfectly fine, of course!  i am not shaming anyone for writing short stuff bc i know people are busy and some people want to just chill and do rapid-fire short responses for their partners and not sit here and craft whole epics.  and that’s totally okay.  however, it means that you are not going to be the right partner FOR ME.  i tend to word vomit in my replies, and i get really bored of threads that are less than two paragraphs.  i like para and multipara, and i’m not interested in exchanging 1-3 sentences back and forth.  you can have your fun over there, and i will have my fun over here. lately, i’ve actually had problems with people who write nothing but short stuff trying to interact with me, and i’m like.  dude.  it’s not going to happen.  stop trying to make it happen.  your writing style is your own and it’s cool and everything, but it bores me to tears FKJDSKJDFK

also, while aesthetics don’t matter to me, having a legible/accessible theme DOES.  if your desktop theme has transparent posts on a patterned background, or low-contrast tiny text, or it turns your italics into cursive, or does some otherwise unreadable bullshit... not gonna follow you.  the other day, i passed up someone’s blog just bc i highlight everything i read on the computer and i didn’t like the way their theme highlighted stuff.  like highlighting on their desktop theme felt clunky for some reason?  and that may have been my imagination but anyway.  i was like no ❤

What’s one thing that other people seem to hate that doesn’t bother you?

//i’ve talked at length about reblog karma before, but i’m gonna do it again because fuck it.  but i really, really just do not understand the sentiment behind reblog karma.  back when i started in the rpc, if someone reblogged a meme from you, you just... were nice and sent them one instead and you didn’t sit there and bitch about it like a tiny baby.  i have very little sympathy for people who are going to sit here and complain that people just use them as a meme source and they have no interactions while NOT TRYING TO INTERACT WITH PEOPLE.  you know you could FIX your interaction problem if you just SENT PEOPLE THE MEMES THEY REBLOG FROM YOU.

everybody talks about how ~great~ reblog karma is, but it has not solved the interaction problem at all.  the only thing that it has done is make people go even further out of their way to avoid interacting with each other.

basically, you get out what you put in, and if you’re not gonna toughen up and reach out to people first, then you DON’T get to sit here and whine about no one sending YOU any memes.

i actually STILL follow my rule where i will send people memes if they reblog them from me, or at least i try my best if i’m not too busy with something else.  but instead of inviting me to come interact with them, people avoid me and reblog from the source instead.  i won’t know you want me in your inbox if you don’t ping my activity feed, especially since i work anywhere from 8-13 hours a day depending, and i cannot be looking at the dash all the time to see who reblogs what memes and when.

What advice would you give to someone new to rp?

//don’t give up and write what makes YOU happy!  i did not start this blog so that i could follow trends and write what other people wanted me to write.  i don’t have very popular muses, i don’t play the characters that people like, except for my league of legends muses.  and even then, i don’t even write my league of legends muses in the way that people want me to, haha!  the amount of times i’ve been ghosted for not shipping akali...!  i have never once picked up a muse just to match with one of my friends, i have always stuck with the muses that resonate with me.

and it can take a little bit to get a blog off the ground!  i have been running this blog for two years now, and i have worked hard to build up my following!  i once went to follow a new blog, and they were already posting about quitting when they had only been on tumblr for, like, a week.

and also... reach out to people!  and if those interactions fall through, who cares!  reach out to more people and start new ones!  i have had a lot of partners come and go over these two years, and a majority of the people i’m writing with now are not the people i was writing with in 2019.  and a majority of the people i’ll be writing with in 2024 probably won’t be the people i’m writing with today.

keep writing whatever you want and keep reaching out and forcing your niche muses down other people’s throats.  you will find people who are willing to write with you and stick with you, no matter what.  and be patient, as that might take a bit!  tumblr really isn’t as dreadful as a lot of people make it out to be.  most people just aren’t patient or tenacious enough to make it work for them.

have they harmed themselves: Sparrow has a personality like, if he can escape the harm of, or even spite, someone he hates by hurting himself, there are situations where he’d take himself to the brink of death for the satisfaction of doing it. Escaping and rejecting eventual sacrifice was honestly a form of harming himself because he had no wilderness survival experience and a lot of chronic pain. I want to say that since pain is a normal part of his life, he doesn’t really have to actively cross a threshold where he has to decide that hurting himself really is worth getting the better of someone else because that kind of threshold is already there for everything.

It’s really odd how only time heals scars you don’t want to remember and a relief when you realize that. About one year ago I had to deal with online BS I can only say as fucked up, immature & way too toxic and that ended in me dealing with the aftermath and rejecting every ship and ship developing for months + hyperfocusing on what mattered in life and my other hobbies. Hell, I even distanced myself from the traditional days in Jpn culture and often used ones in RPC and cut off a lot of threads starting from the month I started to “recover”.

Now, though? I see a sign on things getting better since I think that it might be neat if I have new ships of my preferences (mainly kannao, shiromura or naorise, yunao is so far sth she is still picky on bc Lea’s Yu is so good and A+ match for my anime based!Naoto) or good ideas/more plotting in detail with people who I trust to not be a jackass. I’m still vary on what I’m heading towards, but the level of curiosity and optimism has slowly returned. I know how I can express my opinions and am less scared of that, and how... I’m completely like a different person. I’m still far from perfect, but no longer I’m letting people walk over me just ‘cause I’m kind at my core.

Name any three things about the rpc that bother you.

probably the biggest thing that bothers me is the general lack of willingness to communicate that sometimes exists?? obviously not everybody does this and i’ve been very fortunate not to have experienced it very often, but when it does happen, oof. i’m mostly talking about things like ghosting people instead of politely declining to write with them or like. those confession blogs that get a lot of submissions that are just passive-aggressive burns directed at one partner of theirs in particular that's like ‘you’re only using me for our ship and i feel like i don't matter outside of that at all’ and such. things that should definitely be brought up privately with that partner so they can either be given a chance to change their ways or you can be sure to let them go. it’s okay to say no, and to set boundaries or say ‘hey i’m not feeling up to this/i would rather not do that right now’. i just can’t really think of any reason why someone wouldn’t want to be honest with their rp partners. disposing of healthy communication for things that are just going to cause anxiety. we go full circle here and in an attempt to avoid hurting anyone or getting hurt back, we hurt more than just talking probably would've done.

second, i definitely don’t mind every blog that fits newer aesthetic trends, but i really do not like those blogs that are like. super fancy photoshopped custom made theme bg ones that are maybe 1% ic/metas/content relating to their character in any way, and 99% everything else under the sun. Not saying anything like ‘oh they’re less dedicated than others’ or anything to imply that people who put effort into maintaining a certain blog aesthetic are lesser, bc that’s definitely not true. but i just. have had a few too many bad experiences with the type of muns who will, say, put hours and hours of effort into coding a fully customized theme and a coordinating google doc and making sure all their icons and banners and edits match and after all that, their blog will be active for maybe a week before burning out completely where they wipe themselves of any desire to keep playing that character before they move on to the next big thing. and i’ve sort of done this before myself. the only thing i didn't do was spend hours on a theme bc instead a friend made one for me as a gift. but i’ve been in a position where i tried to keep up a certain trend because even though i wasn't really doing anything to prove i could write, lots of people would see my blog and go ‘oh now that's a quality blog right there’ and it wore me down so much that i ditched that blog. and i thought it sucked, i can't even imagine how that made some of my writing partners feel at the time.

aand boy i had to really wrack my brain to think about a third thing that bothers me after the tangent i went on for the last 2 uhh i’d have to say i am not a fan those sorts of validation memes that are like ‘reblog/send a __ if you actually like my blog’ or popular blog rating memes. i don't vibe with 'em, bc once again, i’m guilty of overusing them in the past to try and fit in and follow trends and get a nearly constant stream of validation going. i can tell you right now it does nooot pay off in the way i used to believe it would. so anymore i’m just like. if you’re still following my blog i am going to assume that means you like it and that's my sense of validation for the day sdjgkdjghs

this is late af but re: the kpop thing i'm not obsessed but i'm a fan of a few kpop groups(not BTS) and i like to use them as fcs but let me tell you that a lot of the issues are with kpop fans in general (and the industry tbh) and it makes it so hard sometimes. like i had to learn how to recolor gifs and stuff (bc i can't make them no matter how hard i've tried) bc i've had a few fcs that were darker skinned and SO Much of their content had them washed out like crazy (1/3)

(cont’d) so i'd have to get a reference photo of what their skin color actually looks like and edit whatever gif/photo i was using to make it match and it's really sad bc even like official photoshoots would have them looking like ghosts so it really was easier to do that then try and find quality pictures (and esp gifs) to use most of the time. (like if you want an example, look up "cha hakyeon" and then "cha hakyeon skin tone" and be saddened by the difference in the top results)

(this got way longer than i thought i'm sorry) i'm 100% not trying to excuse anything and that was from before kpop fcs in roleplays really got popular so the resources might have gotten better (i'm just now getting back into roleplaying) but i'm mostly just complaining bc i don't have time for that and it was ridiculous. also if i see one more non-korean kpop star being roleplayed as a korean i'm going to scream

firstly ,  please don’t ever apologise !! this is what im here for - rant away !!! i can’t say for 10000% what the kpop rpc side of things is like now , in terms of that . i can only speak from the experience of like  , whether they’re being whitewashed by the rpc or media in general still - but i wouldn’t be surprised if they were !  kpop is a trend and genre that really harmfully highlights white / lightskinned koreans , and kinda really minimalizes koreans of any other skin and tone  . and the rpc of course lap it up  bc . . we already know they hate darker skinned people fdjkndfnkdfn . like  i said , its the rpc’s pat on the back . it’s their  ‘ bite sized ‘ / ‘comfortable ‘ way of claiming diversity - but they don’t actually take into effect or thought how harming and anti-black that community can be , and how erasing and damaging it can be for others in the rps . like koreans are people of colour , so let’s use that and acknowledge that . but let’s also not fetishsize them and heavily heavily add to the whitewashing of them and others .

i dont think i’ve talked about it much in my earlier post bUT NOW I AM HERE. I AM PREPARED TO SHOWER THE GROUP WITH MY LOVE???

the group is open. it doesn’t bar us in any way to interact with people who aren’t a part of it. this is a huge thing to me since i have a lot of mutuals that i dont want to lose just because i decided to join a group. i can interact with my friends freely and at the same time have fun with grailed people. i dont worry about who i have and who i shouldn’t write with. more cent for my good people.

you have so much freedom in grailed. it’s not like we were told to tag our stuffs (aside from triggering and heavy themes, which you should do because you are a person that is considerate of your followers, whether you are affiliated or not), to choose who to prioritize (i do this on my own accord, because i want the people in it to feel INCLUDED, because that’s the point of them joining.) or be here 24/7. the last part is important because i am someone who works every weekdays and i come home very late. it’s a challenge for me to jumble through my blogs and be expected to be here all the time. i can rp without forcing myself to come up with something just to meet an activity requirement. grailed doesn’t have that. it respects your limits and your being human. the mods themselves emphasize this as they, too, have a life outside of pretending to be a fictional character online.

MATCHING URLS BRO!!! this actually wasn’t a rule when it first opened. i am the guilty party who suggested it because i thought it was cute??? and it appeared that one of the mods and i shared that idea, so we decided to go through with it and it just feels?? really nice. to be included in something and to feel like you have a group of people you can rely on. as one of the mods have said to us ‘we are a family here’. isn’t that nice to hear though?? that you have a family in this community that you can always go to for stuffs without feeling like a bother. i’ve felt this a lot when i first started on the indie community, bc i never knew who to approach and stuffs. it’s just nice to see that grailed is making that effort to emphasize INCLUSION, which is becoming tame in the community. i also wish that the indie community could improve on this! this isn’t a sympathy that only extends on grailed. i hope for all RPCS to never ignore others in it. that we can be one whole community, you know? grailed isn’t attempting to discourage others or feel like the indie scene is a dying breed.

you can easily call all the members your friends. even though you’ve barely met or have barely talked outside of rping, when you’re in just one small chat, everyone can talk and have fun. you don’t have to worry about being judged when you feel like you have something that you need to say. everyone is just kind. what i want you to understand from this is that, THE GROUP HAS ALLOWANCE FOR MISTAKES. it doesn’t persecute you for what you do, what you did, what you want to do. we’re all human here. a lot of us had forgotten that over time.

i joined because i was kidnapped. i was being myself, minding my own business, having my own fun, being some nerd then ARTORIAS COMES AND ATTACKS ME ON MY DMS.. PUT A GUN TO MY HEAD AND SAID ‘join grailedrpg or i’ll murder you in cold blood’ blease… i feel so threatened :( that’s why i’m here. he threatened me so much and i am just one scared bean!!! of course that are lies. artorias came to me and gave me news about him opening an rpg. he is someone who used to be in the indie fate community and had disappeared, only to come back and give me this gift that is grailedrpg. he just asked me to check it. he didn’t put a knife to my neck and said i’ll stub my toe on a lego if didn’t join. he was very respectful and not forceful with inviting me. i wanted to give it a chance because i adored his writing and wanted to see how it could grow from here. so it was just me considering, and now i’m in this hellhole because artorias didn’t want to give me peace :(

if you decide to join: tell mod vixxey she’s the ultimate furry, mod skoll needs like five hugs and mod artorias need to stop bullying me i have done nothing :(on a more serious note: i highly encourage that you still open yourself to outside interactions! you don’t have to, but majority of the members are, because grailed strives for that kind of openness. never allow the indie community to feel like they’re being overshadowed or forgotten. never let others feel that joining grailed is a trend, because it’s not. it’s a place full of fun and promotes a healthy place for writing and encourages that WE SHARE THAT ENERGY TO OUTSIDE PEOPLE. we do not keep this to ourselves, nor would we deprive others of what grailed is teaching us and shaping us to be and become.while the usage of live action fcs are heavily recommended, you’re not out of the times for not using it. it’s not a mandatory rule, but something that most of the member base just want to do because it’s the core of the group first and foremost. it’s what the mods were striving in the first place. they have decided to compromise and have changed the mandatory rule to become an option in hopes of the people understanding that the mods want it to become a fun place. see?? the mods are even compromising a lot, and grailed hasn’t even been around for long. so when you do join, never forget to thank the mods for their hard-work. it’s never easy to handle a community!

This is my first time in the anime RPC after like 5-6 years ! My first and last time in the anime RPC was my first tumblr muse actually which was Rei from M.irai N.ikki ! The closest I’ve gotten to anime after that was V.ocaloid projects and RPG maker games. But I’ve tended to stick to indie horror games people consider ‘ cringy ‘ after that until @cosmicstardreamer got me into B.SD. Yeah blame them for having to deal with me LMAO.

When I’m not attempting to chug out replies or do schoolwork, I’m either chilling on d.iscord or playing my ‘ depression game ‘ aka s.tardew v.alley. I’m attempting to get back into art as well bc rp, school, and trauma made me fall out of it.

Like I say in my rules, I have the worst attention span ever. Sometimes I hyperfocus and then sometimes I wind up starting a reply, typing a third or half of it before going to YT or d.iscord or photoshop or something or worse, starting ANOTHER reply and then going ‘ OH FUCK ‘. It’s honestly a miracle I get anything done ?

I’ve discovered I really like the aesthetic of webcore / old web pixel things ? I also unironically love ‘ shitty ‘ graphics like N64 and PS1 things.

 I don’t actually mind the dub of BSD S1? I thought it was pretty good but I really felt they could have done a lot better of a job with S2. Margaret’s english voice was cute as hell though.

This is six but my favorite B.SD characters are Y.umeno ( obvs. ), R.anpo,  C.huuya, K.youka, and the dub made me like Margaret. D.azai I’m heavily conflicted on bc of Y.umeno.

SPEED. im actually online a lot because im on summer break and all my friends here have already headed back for college (theyre on the semester system while im on quarter system) so i am. alONE. i’m also a super fast writer, so im pretty speedy at replying combined with all the free time when im not working.

REPLIES. i try to match length but usually end up writing more than the person i reply to and then replies just get really long lmAO SORRY ;; also u may have noticed but my two favorite things are way too many adjectives and semicolons. this hoe LOVES a good semicolon.

STARTERS. i loooove writing starters tbh never be like “hmm i wanna write w/ emmy but dont know if i can like her starter call” pls do it lmao. i tend to write about 3 paragraphs per starter, thats my “i want this to be interesting but not overwhelming” limit. whether i write ninny as visible or invisible depends 100% on my mood but if you want one version over the other its totally chill to specify. nothing makes me sad w/ roleplaying quite like when i spend a lot of time writing a starter and the other person never replies. if you like my starter call, please. actually reply to the starter i wrote you lmao ;; like im serious that so many people like my starter call, like the starter to let me know they saw it, and then just. never ever reply to it. not just on this blog, ive been rping for years on this hellsite and its always been a thing. it makes me so gjhsgdfsf bc i spend so much time writing those starters like boi

Why did you choose to play the character that you do at Crimson Revolt?

im gonna be honest like………………………………. i picked dirk bc i wanted to play ezra miller lmao. I KNOW HOW SHALLOW THAT IS DONT LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT OKAY I CAN EXPLAIN!!!!!!!! alright so before i apped for crt the first time i was at…… a pretty low place confidence-wise bc i’d just left the first rpg i ever joined (also the first rp thing i ever did) and it was a pretty,,,, messy departure lmaoo i gotta admit i could’ve handled that better orz. BUT ANYWAY so i went looking through the ezra miller fc tag bc i’d just discovered this fabulous person and had vague ideas about a character that could fit the fc (dramatic, cheeky, a lil flamboyant) and was also thinking “i will never fall in love with a character the way i did my previous ones again” and more dramatic bullshit along those line bc like i said,,, bad time. obviously i didn’t find any active rpgs that had him in use so i checked crt bc i’d seen it around before and liked the look of it, so i sent the main an ask like “do you see ezra miller working for any of your open characters?” the admin at the time pointed me to barty crouch, peter pettigrew and dirk cresswell.

i just want to take a moment to digest that i could literally have played any of these three, cause all i had at the time was a vague idea of a character and a fc to match. i remember i spent days trying to decide between barty and dirk cause neither skeleton fit my vision perfectly and they both seemed aimed more towards an angry jock-type character (especially dirk his fc was miles teller which…. should give u a good idea of what the admin at the time had in mind for him) ( i mean the first skeleton. the one on the main now is one i rewrote after the main crashed back in june.) (just to clarify: the original skeleton had just as much potential to evolve to a complex and intriguing character as any other skeleton here at crt. i just had my vaguely dramatic ezra miller bby and i wanted it. lmao.) but i liked challenging set characterizations and bringing unique perspectives to contrast against any expectations the admin/s might have about a character. which is why i tend to go for skeleton rps, you get more freedom with those. eventually i decided on dirk bc i liked the sound of aversio and grey moralities appeal to me greatly. i spent a long time delving into the character’s backstory and personality and all those deep-seated insecurities and compelling contradictions that make dirk up to be the person he is now. by the time i submitted the app i was thoroughly in love with the character and haven’t stopped since. he’s my most developed and my most beloved character to play thus far.

NOPE. as long as im surrounded by people i love and a lot of snacks im good.

i have no sleep schedule to speak of. sometimes i sleep at five am and wake up at eight am to get to my classes, then have a six hour nap when i get home and stay up until four am again. sometimes i go to bed on eight pm and wake up at four in the morning and still sleep through my classes, take a small four hour nap when im home and spend obligatory time with the fam for a couple hours lmao. it’s like im just sleeping or waking up either way im always a step removed from a zombie. there is. no reason for any of this i just do it.

ahhhh i can’t remember my memory is failing me. which is sad cause i used to pick up a new novel every other day but i just can’t be bothered anymore ugh. i think my favorite was the whole PJO & HoO series’ – i haven’t read the last book yet tho, so i’ll start rereading all ten books when i get the chance.

the ones i remember are three – once when i was a kid with my mom, bc i wouldn’t go to sleep and it was approaching sunrise and i rambled about wanting to see the sun come up so my mom was like………………… ‘*throws hands up* ok u lil monster u win’ and took me to the roof to watch the sunrise lol. it was glorious. and cold. bc winter. the second time was with my cousins who were sleeping over (for the first time in a loooong tiiiimmmeeee) and we decided to spend the night up on the roof bc why not. the last time was with my brother i think he was up there fixing something or the other and i was just there….. to be annoying lmao.

oh no i can’t. i need everything and everyone to be quiet or i can’t write a thing.

What’s the one thing you especially love about roleplaying your muse/s?

what do i love about playing dirk…… his impulsive and his bright attitude and his endless optimism. he has such an uplifting presence and a cheeky sort of charm that makes it impossible for people not to love him, that makes his worming into other people’s hearts so entirely predictable and entertaining to play out. he is a myriad of contradictions – the difference between what he thinks everyone deserves and what he thinks he deserves is appalling, and with time it becomes clear that when he says things like “everyone needs someone to lean on” or “everyone could use some support” he is not referring to himself as a part of this ‘everyone’, if even on a subconscious level, does not find himself worthy of such kindness. he is a character so full of love he is spilling and overflowing with it, his raw emotions and his turbulent nature one of the dearest parts of him to me. the thin line he walks between being kind and violent, loyal and unforgiving, genuine and secretive. all the little details that make him up are reason for me to love him as dearly as i do.

cold, but not too cold, y’know? just enough to wear a jacket but not so much you spend the night under five covers and a thermometer lmaoo.

crt. no contest. and im not just saying that cause i’ve been in a bunch of rpgs by now and they all either a) lack dedicated admins/members b) are cliquey and non-inclusive at all or b) fall into inactivity a meager month or two after opening. crt is one of a kind.

Who inspires you?

this is actually a tough question cause i never really stop to think about it?? i draw inspiration from everything around me and it’s kinda like…. im constantly absorbing stuff from the environment im in and it’s like i’m always half-thinking about writing at any given moment, if that makes sense?? dunno.

ahhh okay so. before i tried roleplaying i stumbled upon this rpg in the fandom tag over a year ago and it’s basically been the catalyst for my time in the rpc. i was looking through the character’s blogs and found someone playing peter and i was like……….. not fond of peter at the time tbh but this person’s writing was so fucking incredible i checked their blog daily, just to see how this thread or that thread would go. their take on a character i’d only held distaste for before was so compelling and complex i was drawn in all the way, i’d even come to love the character so much and was constantly disarmed by the smallest to the biggest details in that person’s characterization – at least the details i could pick up on, some i’m sure went way over my head at the time. some details i still remember vividly and they’ve helped me shape my first character and have influenced my writing thereafter. i learned a lot about the duality of a character’s mind and how to express inner conflict by observing that person’s writing. (yes i sent them a nerdy af message gushing about all that bc they hadda know man…. they hadda know.)

1. aya ( @builthubris ) OK SO ! listen up aya is wonderful and amazing !! such a talent here. we haven’t even written together (yet bc im gonna this has to happen?) but i read p much everything i see them write that comes across my dash and LET ME TELL YOU: OKAY EMOJIS EVERYWHERE 100%%%% bc aya’s writing is just ??? GOOD !! the amount of detail they put in both their writing and their muses is just honestly ?? so amazing and it inspires me !! and i cannot wait to be on the receiving end of such great qUALITY. they write it this v beautiful way ? it’s not…would it be prose? idk im not that good at describing, obviously, but – there’s something about their writing that really lures you in and you just want it to go on forever !! they pull you into this magical world of their character’s heart and mind and that’s honestly?? such a talent that’s hardly seen i think in a lot of writers, even published authors now. OK plus !! aya is such a wonderful person !! i feel like we rly bonded recently and that’s a bond that can’t really be taken away !! like aya is ?? a v special person and i love them so you should too !!! 

2. mint ( @sharpscoped / @shotwest ) ok let me lay down some law bc mint ??? is ?? fakking gr8 !! mint is so much fun to talk to and very sweet !! such a blast to get to know them ok !! 10/10 would recommend, but all that aside – mint is an amazing writer with great grasps on their characters !! they make it fun and feelsy at the same time and that’s something i love the most about their muses !! you can really see that mint is having a good time and that’s what rly matters right ?? plus mint helped me with my comp matches and thats worthy of some praise lol but yes !! i love how p much instantly we clicked and our muses too and i can’t wait to have some more family themed threads bc honestly our muses deserve it !!

3. blanca ( @sombrc ) ok, first know that from your mun names, i’m choosing blanca bc esto es unos de mis favoritos – pero oyeme todos !! first of all – i love !! seeing fellow chicanxs in the rpc !! ok and better yet – someone who’s so just !!! BITES FIST is so aware and correct and isn’t afraid to share that. we haven’t even written together yet, heck we hardly even talked – but i have the highest respect for you !! and from what i’ve seen of both your blog and writing – damn do you got some good voice on somb/ra !! which (idk to me personally) i feel like som/bra is a rly difficult character to capture and you’re doing her so much justice and ily sm rn – also wtf your autoplay is poppin’ and i’m ready to start dancin’ WEPA !! leggooooo 

4. tifa ( @revengebound / @oncereigned ) outcast voice: ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT listen ok tifa ?? is amazing ?? both as a person and a writer. ok lets start with as a person – tifa has been here for me for everything – and idk WHY TBH BC LOWKEY im annoying but tifa is just so kind and gentle !!!! she’s not only dependable but just so amazingly respectful and friendly ok i know she thinks ppl are often intimidated but ?? i just ?? let me tell you she’s the sweetest !! and def has a v special place in my heart. now !! characters !! funny enough – like the very first moment tifa and i wrote together we were like !!!! do you think cis muns can play trans/nb chars? i know this opinion varies but i remember coming across a post that said cis muns shouldn't and now i see a lot of that happening

boy, oh boy… this question …………………….. is like 110% up for debate ?? hell, im not 100% on where i personally stand bc there are legit SO MANY FACTORS ??? pls don’t read this thinking it’s gospel bc it’s truly not and ik this gon turn into some long ass semi-rant, so scroll for a tl;dr, but … [ cracks knuckles ] let’s gO !

i’ll be 100% real n say that i am always, always going to be uber picky when i come across cis muns playing trans/nb muses. i instinctively raise my hackles and put everything they do under the microscope, mainly bc they ( obviously ) don’t have first-hand experience of the pressures / prejudices / issues / feelings etc. that are exclusive to our community, so they have a tendency to fall into all the harmful tropes when it comes to trans characters—and, without that innate understanding of our struggles, they don’t see how these things can be damaging. there’s also the whole issue of the media perpetuating this bs, so really, while research can do wonders, it’s never gonna be a catch-all solution.

that’s not to say i don’t think that cis people can write solid, unproblematic trans characters. i have most definitely met people who are cis who’ve played wonderful trans and/or non binary charries, whom i adored and would educate themselves and readily listen to any tips that i or other trans people gave them. i actually haven’t met a cis person who has played a non binary muse in a way i have an issue with so far. ik that there’s a general issue in the rpc with people changing their charrie from cis to nb to fill a ratio, which is a Mess and a Half, and ofc the assumption that the character’s assigned sex at birth matches that of the face claim. but, other than that nasty business, the majority of cis ppl playing nb charries are #tight and willing to learn, at least as far as i’ve experienced.

when it comes to binary trans muses tho … lmfa o ….. where do i even begin ?? like idk what it is about cis ppl but a lot of them are just absolutely OBSESSED with what’s goin on in a trans person’s pants ?? i mentioned this in another ask, but bruh… if i had a pound for every time some1 has fuckcin offhandedly brought up / alluded to my charrie’s downstairs configuration when we’re plotting, i’d have enough money to buy this blue hellsite and shut it tf down like i goddamn want to, but anyway !! the reason i bring this up is bc i see so many ppl who have this approach with their own characters—i.e. fetishising them. i mean if ur trans, u do u man, sexualising ur charrie is ur prerogative ?? but fuc k n cis ppl doing this…………………….. mmm hooo my go dd … do u realise how disgusting and nasty this shit is ??????? i mean trans ppl have enough shit w/ ppl sexualising us irl ( esp. trans women !! they literally have it so fuckn rough w/ tht i cant even begin 2 describe ) so like, leave it out of rp thx ???

tbh 99% of the time they don’t even realise just how gross they’re being, bc, as i mentioned before, they don’t have any concept of what it’s like to be trans and how gross and intrusive ppl can be towards us. they think that it’s just the same as writing any character and that they can sexualise them if they want to, without realising that .. it’s very different when you’re outside that community. you’re not exploring an aspect of your identity, so much as reducing someone else’s to a very, very small sector of theirs and then using it for entertainment.

tl;dr: it’s literally a clusterfuck of nope tbh and, on a personal lvl, i’m almost at the point of thinking it would be better if cis ppl don’t play trans charries, bc the bad far outweighs the good in terms of how harmful it can be. that said, i do not think that telling cis ppl not to play trans characters is the right thing to do, bc of the following:

the people who do the disgusting things i’ve mentioned above or anything else that’s nasty don’t listen to us anyway, so it’s not gonna solve that problem.

it reinforces the “write what you know” mantra, which i think we can all agree is so old n outdated in 2k17.

sometimes writing characters is how people manage to learn new things about themselves. i’ve actually met people who, through their character research, have realised that they identify as non binary or trans. having an outlet for feelings they may be having really helps some ppl along.

lastly, and what i personally believe to be the crux of this issue, is that by trying to police something like this you are essentially forcing disclosure of ooc gender. not everyone is comfortable or ready to say they are trans or they may not be sure about their gender identity at all, so forcing them to make it known for the sake of playing a character is not okay. and, ofc, we have the obvious addition that ppl lie, so you’re relying on good faith to carry it out.

so yeah, that’s my v. long-winded two cents on the matter. i have a feeling i’ve missed some details, but it’s 3am and i need to be up by like 9:30 so that’s all for now !! feel free to drop me another question if i’ve fuckt anything up or u would like clarification on anything !

The Roman Empire spread way beyond Italy in ancient times. The territories under their control were allowed to keep their culture and their Greek language. They were also allowed to issue coins locally. These coins had Greek inscriptions on them, a lot of the times and include a myriad of reverses that were important to the local people living in the area. The standard reference work on these coins is Greek Imperial Coins And Their Values by David R. Sear. This work is a great bird’s eye view of many Greek Imperial or otherwise known as Roman Provincial coins. Every emperor is included there, including some cultures that were present during the times of the Roman empire. Additional references are given to coins that were quasi-autonomous, or in other words, struck without the portrait of the emperor. Some of them are interesting and feature the portrait of the Roman Senate and Roma. Overall, this is an interesting subject to learn about, explore and to collect. The advantage is that you can have reverse designs that you would not have on the Roman Imperial coins themselves, which featured strictly Roman motifs most of the time. Also to note, that some emperors, which are at times referred to as usurpers only issued coins in the province or city under their control. So you can only have a Roman provincial coin of them. Another benefit of Roman provincial coins is that they feature portraits of the imperial family which are otherwise not present on Roman Imperial coins. So, in conclusion, Greek Imperial or Roman Provincial coins made an amazing addition and make any ancient Roman coin collection more complete and more fascinating. Ostensibly conceived as a cthonic goddess, similar to that of Artemis, Hekate was later transformed and associated with witches, ghosts, and curses. Similar to the Roman Trivia, her image was set up on boundaries to keep out evil spirits. The cult likely traced itself from Caria, with the most prominent cult site being Lagina where there are names stememming from Hekate are attested (derived from Hekatos, or “far-shooting”, an epithet of Apollo).

Numismatic Note; This is a very rare, possibly only one known of it’s kind. I have searched various database and could not find a match with the obverse type. Additionally the abduction of Persephone by Hades is a very intersting and rare motif that some collectors enjoy.

Hades the ancient Greek god of the underworld, can’t help but to abduct the beautiful Persephone, the daughter of Demeter. Being the goddess of agriculture, Demeter is so sad that nothing grows in the world. Zeus interjects as the people grow hungry from this and gets the return of Persephone to her mother. However, Hades tricks Persephone into eating a pomegranate and because she tasted the fruit of the underworld, she must return for one third of the year, which are attributed to the winter months. This myth explains the seasons in the ancient times.
