[ Background: an account made AI bots of my fics and others to various extents. I had an anxiety attack quietly watching Tumblr melt down over this topic. When the dust settled, this post was the first and last I said about it to address continued inquiries. ]

Thank you everyone who kindly let me know about the >25 unauthorized bots using content from my fics.

Listen, I strongly relate to the desire to talk to these characters - I've said it before. I appreciate how invested someone must be to go to all this effort, and I appreciate the credit. But it's not right and I'm not comfortable with it. You may not realize what it feels like to the writer. It feels like a violation.

Unfortunately, this wasn't the first incident for me. Someone once made a bot of my fic 4 days after I publicly said not to in response to an ask. I didn't find out until it had almost 1k "chats" and you'll see I use that term very loosely under the cut.

I've said don't do this, and it's in my masterlist. I've even shared my anxiety about being so slow to update that people take matters into their own hands. I'm not really sure what else to say. I'm tired.

Please don't do this. And when you see chatbots built on fics, please alert the writers.

IMPORTANT The bots are down. I don't want the person to be harassed - i think that's obvious based on my tone from the start.

Beyond these, there were more bots from night walks, slasher, and stepdad, ones from Raider and Speakeasy and even a few from hypotheticals I published like when stepdad goes to jail for indecent exposure or when you aren't getting wet for raider joel.

Past Incident

IMGs: 1) I answered an ask August 16 saying no. The asker had "offered" to credit me. 2) August 20, someone made a bot without credit. This is worse imo and suggests trying to hide their actions.

I told a lot of people about this, but it was an isolated bot unlike the profile discovered 2/23.

For many reasons, I'm less and less comfortable with Tumblr being the primary home for all my writing. I'm aware people can still take things from AO3, but not as easily. I'm trying to be nice by preemptively suggesting people sign up on AO3 if they want to read everything. If it's not worth the trouble to you, just don't do it.

Just as I stated earlier, my name is Alzis Myers. I am a historian and an archaeologist, although I have not been able to do proper field work in some time. I primarily study Pokemon that were created by ancient civilizations, though that is far from the only thing I have worked on. (:

I am not a Pokemon trainer, but I do own two Pokemon.

Delphi, my Absol. She's simply a wonderful companion, and quite skilled at easing my anxieties... as well as being an ideal Pokemon to have around while I am working, for many reasons. She's wonderful, truly wonderful.

And... Atlas, my Sigilyph. The main inspiration behind my primary field of research. I caught it back during my first experiences with field work, back in university... Incredibly, incredibly odd.

It's much larger than the average Sigilyph, with a unique color variant, as well. It's been over half a decade since I caught it, and yet my knowledge on it is lacking... I suppose that is just how Sigilyph are by nature. Always so elusive and cryptic.

Other social media websites feel overwhelming and at times, hostile, in my experience, and frankly a pain to use, but I am hoping that I will be pleasantly surprised here. (I have also stumbled across a few rumors pertaining to this website, and I am very, very intrigued...)

That aside, however, I do hope at the very least, I can spread knowledge and interest in our history. I promise you all, it's worth learning a thing or two! (:

Perfect Personalized Diet! (dm for your personalized diet too!)

Using my height, weight, bmi, activity level, and maintenance caloric intake, I was recently able to create a personalized day-by-day diet to help me lose my depression weight! 

My journey: (skip to the bottom for the final diet!)

Hi! I'm starboy, and this is my ED blog! To be transparent, at my low weight, I weighed roughly 90lbs, with my bmi being 14.1. I was incredibly ill, and know I cannot go back to that wieght; however, it helped ease my gender dysphoria, and my problems with OCD massively. In June of 2023, I was 98.5 lbs with a bmi of 15.4. Currently, I weigh 109 lbs and my bmi is 17.1. I am deeply unhappy with this, and though parts of recovery have been great, I recently learned that I may be terminally ill. I figured if Im going out anyways, I’m going to go back to the one thing that brings me endless comfort: my eating disorder. By July 1st (in about 7 weeks from this post), I want to get to 100lbs, with a bmi of 15.7. 

How I created this diet: (and how you can too!)

To explain how I calculated and created this diet, I used this link: “Calorie Calculator”, to calculate my maintenance weight. I rounded up to 115 lbs for my weight just to be safe! Using the maintenance number calculated from 115 lbs, which is 1,601 calories a day, my height, 5’7”, and my age, 18 years, I asked chat gbt to create a customized day by day calorie intake diet. Due to working Wednesday and Friday, I asked it to have those days be the highest caloric intake, and I asked for Monday and Saturday to be the lowest intake days, due to those being my typical clubbing/partying days. I also use 16:8 fasting, but I like to do a 24 hour fast every other week. Chat GBT gave me lots of advice and gave me a range of options, but the diet I decided on works best for me! I highly recommend reading thoroughly because it is very very helpful if you don't know the science behind weight loss!

My exact chat gbt message: (if you would like to make your own, copy and paste this message into Chat GBT and replace the weight, height, bmi, activity level, and maintenance calories)

“I am an 18 year old female, that is 5'7" and 115 lbs. My BMI is 18.0 currently. My physical activity level is sedentary. To maintain my current weight I need to consume 1,601 calories per day. I want to lose 15 lbs by July 1st. How many calories should I consume daily to lose 15 pounds by the beginning of July? Create a per day caloric intake schedule that includes fasting for 24 hours once every two weeks that goes until the beginning of July, where I would loose 15 pounds. Have my lowest caloric intake (or my bi-weekly fasting date) on Monday and Saturday, and have a little bit of a higher caloric intake for Wednesday and Friday: all while I am still on track to loose 15 pounds(making my weight 100 lbs) by the beginning of July.”

The final diet: (the part you guys really want!)

I eat between the hours of 12-7pm for my 16:8 fasting, and fast on every other Sunday.

Monday: 800 calories

Tuesday: 1,100 calories

Wednesday: 1,200 calories

Thursday: 1,100 calories

Friday: 1,200 calories

Saturday: 800 calories

Sunday 1,100 calories (fasting every other week)

Overall, I will be consuming 7,300 calories a week. (for reference, eating my maintenance calories would be 11,207 calories a week). That is a 3,907 weekly calorie deficit, and roughly a 558 calorie daily deficit. Remember! A deficit is how you lose weight!

The moonlight reflects dully on the knife.

Tonight the moon was shining brightly in the clear night sky.

Ellis: Come to think of it, how should we end up disposing of them? Kill them?

Jude: We're going to hurt him enough to the point of death, and then we're going to restrain them.

Hello everyone—this is another smaller update post for Sea's Community Compendium! These are likely to continue until next week (provided I have resources), then it'll swap back to a weekly update when I go back to work. I want to try and keep up with any and all resources that I can in the early days so I'm not swamped when I get busy. ⛵

We're a Tumblr Community now! For people unfamiliar with the concept of Communities, I encourage you to check out the tumblr post by staff made about them here. However, copy/pasting what I have written in the Compendium, the Community functions as so:

SEAFLOOR (A FFXIV Community) is a Tumblr community whose duel-purpose focuses on my projects — the Compendium, question drives and screenshot events — whilst also reblogging member created works, resources (including events, commissions and looking for content/roleplay/free company posts), affirmations and other xiv-related content. If you are interested in supporting my projects without the social aspect of a Discord, I highly encourage you to join the Community. Everything hosted on the Discord will be cross-posted there; you will not miss out on anything. As Communities are still in beta, members need to be manually invited. FAQ.

I want to put my community on the compendium but we have an application process. Is this okay?

Yes! Just note somewhere in your application that's a requirement. The only thing that is mandatory for the Compendium is that you must be open to new members or have a public-facing/accessible facet. There's no point advertising a community if no one can join it in some way!

Also totally okay! People don't start with large communities. Activity is a must but, whether your server has two or two thousand members, if you're looking for new people to join, I'd love to help you find people.

I want to put my community on the compendium but I worry its too niche?

Okay, and? If your Eorzean Fishing Alliance has four members but you roleplay every second weekend, I still want to know about it.

What resources/communities can I add if I'm not the owner of them?

Mutual consent is extremely important to me, so anything that isn't a large-scale community OR a publicly accessible resource must be endorsed by the owner/admin/moderators in order to be added to the compendium. I operate under the assumption that a resource posted to a public space (tumblr, googledocs, youtube, etc) is open to all. A large-scale community is one with a significant member count or openly advertises itself as being accessible to everyone for whatever purpose it serves. If in doubt, please get in touch with me. I'm happy to contact your community owners for you!

How active does a community need to be?

If you find a community has not been active in about two/three months, send me a message and I'll take a look at it. Communities have ebbs and flows, especially event spaces that may take hiatuses depending on member interest/life events. I'm not strict in my implementation provided a space isn't dead. If a link or anything is broken, absolutely contact me about that.

i've been wanting to create a writing blog for a while now, but i'm unfamiliar with how to manage one and create masterlists and such 😵‍💫

hi my love!! and AAA honoured that YOU asked ME for such tips 😔 but i'll try my best to give you some!

firstly, definitely go through other blogs to see how they format their blog, fics, and stuff. i wouldn't worry too much about a theme or anything yet, but create a post in your drafts that will essentially be the one that you'll pin for your blog. in it, you can state your name, age, pronouns, whatever, and also link your masterlist and other posts that you want, like an about me or guidelines post

this is how i format my pinned post, in a way that is easy to read and organised :

your masterlist will be a completely different post, which will be the post you'll have all your fics linked in

in order to link the masterlist to the pinned post, you're going to copy the URL link of the post and paste in this box that comes up while highlighting the word "masterlist". then just rinse and repeat this process with as many links and posts you want on your pinned and in your masterlist. and whenever you're ready, post them to your blog publicly!

play around with colours and symbols that suit the style/theme/aesthetic that you want!

tag your posts with relevant tags so that your readers can find your content more easily, such as #seventeen fluff #seventeen angst or even your daily rambling tags and mutual/friends tags!

also this is to anyone in general, if you're planning to post a fic and its a bit long, PLEASE put a read more tag! you can add one by selecting this on a new line:

it all might be overwhelming to manage at first, but seriously take your time with setting everything up! write at your own pace, post random rambles abt your life at 4am, it's all up to you! i literally consider my own blog as my lil life diary and seventeen fanfiction JSKFDSF. trust me tho- you'll get the hang of it <3

post as much as you want and also engage with people who give you feedback on your work (which is... a bit hard nowadays haha) and don't be afraid to make friends and interact with other writers and readers!!

Important: I do feel like I need to address this, but I don't accept requests that have already been done by other people. I follow tags and see the same exact requests, copied and pasted, onto other blogs and I personally just feel that it's a little disrespectful to send a request to multiple different people for the same exact thing. I could just be sensitive, but I feel like there's no point writing it if it's already been done.

I understand the requestors could potentially be looking for different takes of the request, or they could just be spamming any account looking for anyone to take their request and complete it. I'm someone who writes for myself, and I like the requests and ideas my followers give me because they're special and unique, and not like any other requests; is what I wish for it to be like.

With the exact same requests and ideas circling around, it just feels like your writing is a bit downgraded. That anyone can do better; which I'm not saying I'm the best, but I like having my work acknowledged since I take the time out of my day to complete them. It feels like your work gets placed on the back burner of other writings pertaining the same exact request or very similar to. It just feels competitive; I'm not here for first prize or fame.

Everyone writes unique. I'm not saying that all zombie AU's are all the same requests with the same ideas and such; there's different executions and many different ideas that can turn that into your own special writing. I'm saying that the exact same requests like "Short woman with purple hair and yellow eyes meets (so-so) in a coffee shop and they get each others number and hang out at Hot Topic" (I just made that up at the top of my head, I'm not trying to target anyone); then seeing that exact request, word from word, on five other blogs, just feels like you wasted your time.

Perhaps I'm just asking too much considering this is the internet, people are going to do what they want. And I kind of see myself as being a bitch saying this because I KNOW I take forever to write, I know my writing is really long in word count and in posting, that I have no posting schedule or anything. I'm sorry for that, I really do wish I had more time in the day to focus on my hobbies and this blog; but you can't just ask to stop time, now can you?

I understand you can become impatient with me, or change your mind about me writing; in that case, please just pop in my messages and say you want the request cancelled. You don't have to tell me that you're impatient or that you want someone else to do it; I won't shame you for it.

AH okay I'm feeling mixed about this because I KNOW that I can't "claim" a style for my rec posts, and because I spent SO MANY YEARS developing something that finally works, something that I feel makes fic recs in this fandom these days as identifiable as "my style", that my brain feels like if someone else uses my exact format, even though I have told y'all in the past the exact formula that works for me, it's them trying to copy and inevitably replace me.

Please know that I LOGICALLY KNOW THIS IS NOT THE CASE. I have this issue because of my personal issues. It comes up daily in my work life as well, where I feel like people taking things off my plate to ease my work load is just people trying to make me obsolete.

Worst-case scenario, this brain is always jumping to.

I KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT TRUE. It's SO FRUSTRATING having a brain that KNOWS the opposite is true, but it's initial conclusion to everything is "they wants to replace us, precious". My therapist thinks it's weird too, so oof.
