What I look like/Selfie dump:

I don't take a lot of pictures of myself, because I don't really like the way that I look most of the time😅 Recently, that's been getting a lot better though, since I got top surgery, started showering regularly again and taking better care of my hair. This allowed me to find a look that I really like on myself🤩 These are the only pictures of me that I feel comfortable posting right now, though ☺️😅

I'm an AuDHD-er (autism is self-diagnosed) and am currently recovering from what I suspect is burnout. I'm pretty sure I burnt out during high school. When I was in school, I always had to work harder than everyone else in class, on account of being the slowest. I write slower, make more mistakes and sometimes it takes me longer to process information. A lot of times, this caused me to hold everyonein class back with lessons and made me feel very ashamed. Every year, with a new class, I knew that I was the slowest out of everyone there. I also have a really hard time studying, without writing everything down or highlighting everything.

Everything started going downhill in 10th grade (16 yrs). It was really scary, having to watch as my grades/marks went down more and more with every passing term. Mostly in Science and Maths and sometimes EGD (Engineering Graphics and Design). No matter how much or how hard or how smart I worked, they just kept going down. If they weren't going down, they were stagnant. And I was the nerd. I was constantly spending my time with my nose in a book, or doing some type of homework or studying. Every afternoon, immediately after school (and all evening), even during breaktime/lunch - I would sit and do homework. I never went out with friends, went to parties or sleepovers (in high school. I did have and go to sleepoves in primary school, though. Those were fun). My whole life revolved around school. In high school, I didn't really have close friends. You know when you're friends with someone, but you only ever see them in school? It was like that. Those were the only friends I had in high school. So, essentially, I didn't really feel like I belonged anywhere.

Electrical Technology was fun, though🙃 I was the only "girl" in class, so being the top student and getting better grades than the boys that bullied me, felt that much better 😆😂

Having my final year in 2020, really did it for me. 2019 is the last time I remember everything being "normal". I still have a semblance of regret for not being able to have that high school anime (love) story that everyone talks about. *Sigh🌸* It was also really tough, knowing that that was our year of lasts and we didn't get to do all the things that students usually do in that year. I still remember the feeling of not being able to hug my teachers or my friends, how empty, quiet and orderly the hallways felt. Lifeless...It was horrible.

I could go on, but I think I'm going to end it here🌿 I feel that's enough trauma for today😂 Remember, if you have any questions my asks are always open🌼 I'm pretty much an open book with people I feel safe around and I feel really safe and loved in this community🫶🏽 So, I don't really mind talking about my trauma and past experiences with you guys 🤷🏽 Don't expect that from other people, though 🙅🏽 They might not be as comfortable about it. Just because I am, doesn't mean that they will be too.

I try to! Sometimes one or two falls through the cracks when I don't have the spoons to respond right away, but I do try and at least acknowledge them even if it's been ages.

6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Probably a little ficlet I wrote here on Tumblr and never put on AO3, in which one of the characters is revealed to have been dead the whole time. Usually I'm not about the super depressing endings though, just about everything else at least ends on a hopeful note, if not a resolved one.

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I think most of my RiSang fics end on a happy note, especially the one-shots and the exchange fics. Love Light, Ordinary World, ADHAU, Wild Fire, Last to Know...I think they're pretty equally happy?

8. do you get hate on fics?

Not really, but I did get one bizarre comment on a fic where the commenter presumed to predict where the plot was going and then comment on how much they didn't like when things like that happened? Except it wasn't a fully published fic yet and the actual ending was...nothing at all like they predicted.

9. do you write smut?

I sure do.

10. craziest crossover?

I don't think I've ever actually written a crossover. Crazies fusion fic was definitely Les Amis Do Titanic (In Every Age).

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so. I mostly write rarepair/pool noodle fic in a tiny fandom so...who's really going to take it?

12. have you ever had a fic translated?

Not that I know of.

13. have you ever co-written a fic before?

I used to do a lot of forum-based RP, back when invision/tapatalk/proboards forums were all the rage in the early 2000s. In terms of fic I've published on AO3, I haven't. But that's largely due to the fact that I'm the slowest writer known to man, and I'd just end up frustrating any writing partner I had with my slowness ^_^;

14. all time favorite ship?

I think Weilan (Guardian) is the ship I've read the most fic for overall. But it's definitely not my longest-term ship or anything.

15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

The Weilan Mermaid AU I started back in like...2020? I fell into the DMBJ pits before I finished it and idk if I'll ever go back to it at this point.

16. what are your writing strengths?

I've been told I'm good at setting scenes and writing things that people can visualize, so that, I guess?

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

Oh god dialogue. I cannot write a normal conversation to save my life. What even is normal human interaction?

18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?

Nah. I mean I'll use a word here or there, if it's something very commonly understood in the fandom (like calling Wu Erbai "Er-shu" or Zhang Rishan "fuguan" if that's how a character would address them in the show). But in terms of full sentences? I wouldn't be confident enough in my ability to write the language fluently, and even if I could, I'd just have to provide translations anyway. Far easier to say "...'said so-and-so in [language]."

19. first fandom you wrote in?

Like, EVER? I had a generic American Girl doll that I named after a Baywatch character and wrote a story for her when I was like...9? Does that count?

20. favorite fic you've written?

I'm still really proud of Ordinary World. It's not my most popular by any measure, but I put a ton of work into it and I still enjoy re-reading it sometimes. Plus I'm proud of the fact that I churned out nearly 60k words in like a month since it was for an exchange that had a deadline.

preference  of  communication: Any, really. I'm fairly (read: brand) new to the RP side of Tumblr, and current-era Tumblr in general, so I'm still figuring out how business is conducted. Messages, email, discord. I'm around and happy to chatter.

name  of  most  active muse(s): Tula, for sure. She's been the framework around which I'm learning VtM, and I love it. She's also the one who's been the slowest and most deliberately developed, and I think it's paid off well. I have another, Grace Letts, who's lingering around, having made the jump from another story concept to WoD, but she's probably a Mage (!!!), and it's gonna be a minute before I'm ready for MtA. 

experience/how  long  (months/years?): The is the part where you realize that I'm rather old. 😂 (If the millennial emoji usage doesn't give it away first.) I first discovered RP on AOL in the late 90s. That's also where I first learned about VtM, but really just the general lore (Ventrue are business! Toreador are art sluts! Sabbat are the bad guys!). I've taken long stretches of time away, often years, but it's an itch I always return to. I usually lean more toward the writing/story side of things, but I'm down to try almost anything.

platforms  you’ve  used: Mostly play-by-post writing sites. Discord.

best  experience:  Teaming up with @silkenred! They are the creative partner I've been looking for since the day I started this journey. Working together on our story has renewed my interest in writing, roleplaying, and everything WoD. They are one of my favorite people on the planet. Fun Fact: When I met them, they were writing a series of haunted infomercials for a Twin Peaks-inspired group RP, and I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever read. 😂

rp  pet  peeves  /  dealbreakers: Writing with partners who treat my character like their narrative sidekick. No. I'm not interested in playing plot support to your superstar. (Unless it's a really specific, well-communicated situation.) In a partnership our characters carry equal importance: I'll make yours look good, but I expect the same consideration in return.

fluff,  angst,  or  smut: All of the above? All at once? 😳 In all seriousness: I love some angst, with fluff to keep it from being a complete slog, and smut can be delightful if done right, but it isn't essential. 

plots  or  memes: I'm not really sure what this means exactly, in an rp context as either/or, but I'm pro-plots and pro-memes!

long  or  short  replies: My major project right now is a co-authored story, and the replies we send each other are generally between 750-1500 words. (In the past 15 months, we've written just over 100k words together! And guys, silkenred writes GOOD words.) But I think there's a lot of fun and merit in shorter, more casual formats as well.

best  time  to  write: Morning! Like, 7am-9am or so. It's generally a quiet time in my household, and easier to focus before the rest of the day smashes through.

are  you  like  your  muse(s): There are definitely elements of Tula, mostly emotional, that I've pulled from my own experiences, or things I've observed in those around me. Grace, the aforementioned eventual-mage, probably has life experiences that more specifically line up (thematically, at least) with my life. She's younger, though, and dresses better, and she's more likely to punch someone. She also sees ghosts.

((I have 2 methods, which I need because frankly I have waaaayayyy too many threads. The hard part for me isn’t keeping track - it’s coming up with ideas to write.

For every thread, no matter what, I put it in my drafts the moment I see my partner has replied. This is important because then it doesn’t get buried. Sometimes I’ll reply right away but usually people reply while I’m at school or working on stuff for school, or I just don’t know what to write at that moment. So I draft it. Sometimes they get buried and stay there for a long time........

Which is why the second thing I do is using thread tracker. It tells me when it’s my turn, which is nice because tumblr’s notifications are not always reliable. Also it’s only a list of threads - no scrolling through ask memes I want to post at some later date, or pictures I drafted because tags are a pain to write on mobile when I’m at school. Things don’t get buried on thread tracker.I don’t use it for every thread though, mostly just for the “main” ones that concern the plot, like the repairs one with @ask-dr-knockout, or the one with @pacificae-mors. I have ten in there, and probably another ten to fifteen that are with new partners and/or short slice-of-life threads with my regulars.

Like I said, too many threads. It’s why I’m not starting new ones unless they’re with someone who lives in the base or it’s part of the main plot that I’ve discussed behind the scenes with the other mun(s).))

Quick question: does 'preference will be given to mutuals' mean that you're just more choosy about answering stuff from non-mutuals, or would you just prefer only mutuals send in memes and the like?

I have this as a standard part of my rules for all my muses not to discourage people from ever sending me memes if we’re not mutuals, but because when life gets hectic and I’m not left with a lot of time to RP it’s easiest for me to go to those muses/muns I already know to get something started, as I have a baseline idea of where a reply could go based on knowing either how our muses interact, or the sorts of stories and plots that the mun likes, to draw from those inspirations.

I’m definitely up for writing with people who aren’t mutual follows, in both directions -- that I don’t follow, or that don’t follow me.  There’s a lot of different reasons why I might not follow someone back that have nothing to do with a lack if interest in writing with them, including a desire on my part to keep the number of blogs I follow low so I can keep up with my dash, as there’s a lot of days where I don’t get a chance to really look at the dash until I’m back from work in the evening and things can move real fast on there and get lost or overlooked due to sheer volume.  Or because I can’t figure out where on someone’s blog their rules are, or don’t see anything that indicates the age of the mun, or an about or bio or short haiku describing the muse if they’re an OC so I know enough about them to reply with more than a generic “how about that local sports team and or weather pattern fellow citizen”, or stuff like that.

Thoughts on the character: Omg. The fact Hayla has honest to god put up with Hux’s shit these last three years says a lot. I love Hayla and the slowest burn ever. She is definitely a fighter, and tbh, Hux lowkey likes that (even if she’s on the side of the Resistance). 

Have you interacted before: Yup~! We’ve interacted quite a bit, mostly with the Soulmates AU. Damn. Hard to believe that verse was so long ago!

Favorite part of portrayal: The fact Hayla is so damn strong. Like, that is tough being a member of the Resistance, only to have the Force (because we blame everything on the Force) say “CONGRATS! YOU HAVE A PASTY GINGER SHIT FROM THE FIRST ORDER AS YOUR SOULMATE!” right to her face. And the fact she had to deal with that. She could have yeeted Hux and been done with it, could have loathed him and wished him dead. Nope! She went straight into it like a brave soul.

One piece of advice: Omg! I totes understand the laziness! But it’s okay! Take your time getting on Hayla! 

A verse (mine or theirs) I want a thread in: I know we’ve got the Soulmates AU as our thing, but I wouldn’t mind exploring other verses. Heck, modern verse or demon verse would be tantalising.
