Now time to explain the rules in this blog and some stuff about me!

-fav animal is seals bc they so silly, also one my most fav youtubers, leamon puppy has her main as a seal, think that’s where I first started loving seals so much but idk XDDD

-I absolutely love vintage vids, just something so interesting about them to me! I love animes from the 90s-2010s most, but my most FAVORITE anime genre is magical girls!

-My first magical series was probably Glitter Force (SMILE PRECURE DUB YALL), but then Sailor Moon caught my eye and it is one my favs to this day! I finished Tokyo Mew Mew first though!

-Fav character is Pop Harukaze! She doesn’t get much of a role in Ojamajo Doremi as a Ojamajo, but something about her personality or something.. I am just living for it!

Welcome to part two of my positivity shoutouts. I will be doing these in alphabetical order and hope my scattered brain won’t forget anyone. Given I can only put people on here I follow and therefore know, feel free to send in positivity for people in the House of the Dragon fandom who I have missed & not mentioned, so I can include them in a later post! 

@bloodiedrubies - because i am a scatterbrain and shamefully forgot this gem in yesterday’s post under the letter b, i’ll do that now and ask for forgiveness ( i blame my wonky follower list for not showing you xD ). Man, another blog that is so good that it is hard to put into words. Rhaegar is technically not in our hotd timeline, but the mun has verses that make it super easy to interact and the writing is just incredible. so much quality, such an incredible grasp on the character. cannot recommend the blog enough!

@dionai - damn, what can i say? SO much talent! all of the muses are impeccable and the aesthetics are *chef’s kiss*. the writing is extremely good and the mun a sweetheart <3 i can only say wonderful things about them!

@dcrilaros - a wonderful interpretation of daemon that is very true to his character. the mun is also absolutely lovely and i adore them. hope this motivates them to come back to daemon and bless our dashes again

@dracharenae - technically not a hotd strictly speaking, but since i have decided to include everyone who rps into our world, i could never skip this wonderful human being and their amazing muses. even though rhaenys lives a little later than most of our babies, the mun has many verses and is incredibly approachable & always helpful. the writing is so beautiful and i stan everything they touch.

@degriseo - another wonderful multi with beautifully written hotd characters! i’ve had this one on my dash for a long time and love to quietly stalk their wonderful threads. everything they write is just awesome and creative!

@dragcnsdaughter - so much love for this one! dany is an absolutely wonderfully fleshed out character in all of the mun’s verses and the writing is just beautiful. the mun is also a super kind person ooc and i am so happy we get to write together on both of their blogs. lots and lots of talent &lt;3

@fallesto - ah, my sweet, sweet fallesto. i have so much love and adoration for you, i could never put it into words. we have written the most gut wrenching angst together and the sweetest romances & everything is just perfect. all the characters are absolutely on point and the mun is incredibly kind & approachable. i hope you’ll never get tired of me, because i adore you endlessly. 

@fictalmultitude - we are new mutuals, so we have only just begun to interact with each other, but i already adore the writing and the choice of muses is also absolutely perfect. the mun is also kind and friendly, so i wholeheartedly recommend.

@gelarios - another wonderful & talented rhaegar! it is so nice to see characters loved on that have not had the chance to shine in mainstream media ( aka the shows ), because people can truly make them their on and the mun does a great job! love having them on my dash!

PERCY JACKSON ROMANTIC MATCHUP: Drew Tanaka

HOW YOU MET

At camp! You both knew each other by name for years and were on relatively good terms. You mostly knew about her because she knew a lot of gossip, she really did like to talk. (spoilers for the last olympian) She really changed after Silena's death and was appointed head of cabin, she was almost cynical for a good while there.

You two definitely did not get along at first, since you really disliked her arrogance, so it was a real enemies(ok probably more rivals) to lovers scenario, but I feel like she was comforted by that somehow???

Like she became strangely comfortable around you, you're first heart to heart together was when you were both alone and she kind of just poored her heart out it was wild.

But after that you were like ok she's not entirely horrible, she's doing her best to blah blah blah I'm not about to spoil my own hcs to you nonono.

Anyway, in summary you both knew each other since you were young but only grew closer years and years and years later.

RELATIONSHIP HEADCANONS

Ngl I have thought through everything this woman has done since her introduction so literally everything she says/does is really reall delibrate. Looking at you both it's like looking at a delibrate and cunning character and a wet cat, and she loves the wet cat in you :)

HANGING OUT

Ma'am is an absolute lotta true crime(penelope scott) vibes type of gal. She probably has strong opinions about known and lesser know murderers. She gets so cute when talking about it cause she's like "!!! and you won't believe this!!!" and she's just becomes so comfortable and enthusiastic I love her.

Her reading books and then telling you all about her reviews of them is just!!! Also if you recommend a book to her she will make comments on it as she goes through it, kinda like she's reacting like to a tv show to you, if that makes sense, live tweeting or smth might sound more familiar. Anyway she loves sharing her theories, reviews and just talk about books ingeneral!!!

She would love to take you out shopping!! The type of person to show her love primarily through gift giving, so please let her buy you things. She would buy them behind your back otherwise, she's too stubborn to just give up without getting you the gift. She's so awkward about it though, in a way she only gets around you. You make her feel some typa way yk?

I feel like she would enjoy showing off her clothes and makeup to you and just sharing it with you. She's passionate about it, she's even considering it as a career option, she wants to show you her cool lil things and then learn about yours in part!!! Sharing interests it everything, with either her rambling on or you rambling on, both are good.

ROMANTIC MATCHUP: Thor

HOW YOU MET

You met post Thor: Ragnorok Thor to be clear. Anyway you were traveling through New Asgard on a lil field trip when everyone got snapped back. Due to the commotion, things shut down for a while so you were stuck in New Asgard for a while.

Up to this point it was basically urban legend type stories you had learnt about Thor. I mean, a god from space? Sounds awfully convenient in this economy.

I just juked you out that's not when you first met. You both met on your second visit to New Asgard when you visited friends you had made during the blip incident.

So you both met, and Thor was still recovering from literally everything but he is recovering and he is gettig his found family yadayada.

You both have a minimum conversation as he says farewell to the mutual friend that you had came to meet and he's all like "farewell, fair maiden, until we meet again" on you swoon bc Chris Hemsworth amirite. ANYWAY you both do meet again after he comes back to visit after schenagians with the gotg gang(the movie hasnt come out idk what's going on)

RELATIONSHIP HEADCANONS

He is the counter weight of clumsiness, because he is also clumsy and two negatives make a positive right? Anyway, what I'm saying is that when you're clumsy, you'll have some comically helpful scene where Thor catches it accidentally and then he just looks up like "I got you pretty lady ;)" expect it's a lot less smooth.

Golden Retriver!!! He can make you comfortable in 0.00001 seconds or less. He is such a supportive guy, even if he may have no idea what he's supporting because god moment, but he is here for you!!! He probably talks to Bruce about how he can learn stuff faster to catch up with what you're saying.

You'll be happy to find out that this man also hates horror movies, BUT he did read Twilight bc Tony convinced him it was supposed to be a masterpiece. Please give him better recommendations he is in too deep it isnt ok nor fun for anyone.

I'm going to be entirely honest, please be patient with him, your humor flies over his head half of the time. He's still adjusting, but one thing he IS familiar with is sarcasm. I think he finds sarcastic people really comforting and cool, and he thinks you're the most comforting and coolest of them all.

HANGING OUT

He likes to tell his lil stories about Asgard and Loki and yadayada mr.i-am-so-cool-and-accomplished. Either way please listen to him!! He is so excited to have someone listen to his stories with any level of enthusiasm. I feel like in Thor: Ragnorok and after he's grown to realise that people express interest differently and now he's aware of that with you!!! Also every other thing will remind him of a story so prepare for anecdotes.

He likes to bake. He likes to bake earth recipes along with the occasional surprise asgard time recipe!!! He doesn't measure to your skill though, as he sometimes gets impatient when baking alone and juts, yeah. But baking with you is like youre both in your own world and time doesnt exist <3

He is a summer boy who likes to frolick in sunflower fields and have picnics. Cottagecore lifestyle with no cottagecore style. what im trying to say is life is simple, baking, picnics, chickens, I don't know. On that note, I DO know that Thor does really like chickens.

Friends!! He is a sociable guy who likes to talk and be with people. You know his friends, he knows yourselfs. You both go out for dinners, go shopping and see movies together. He's definitely a blessing on anyone's social life I'm telling you.

Fantasy Life (Part 2) - Life After Life

Happy New Year's Eve and welcome to "These Are My Lives"! I'm your host, Spinner and I'm here to show how I survive minutes of Life tutorials to make content for my playthrough blog!

But on a serious note, I had to spend minutes to finish each Life Tutorials while logging them in my Notepad and taking pictures on my phone camera so I won't forget them. Some of them were very boring for me to follow along with the Life story to the point I want to skip the other tutorials, but I can't because of this blog and I want to write my abridged version of the stories I experienced.

Also, I'm already aware that there's a screenshot feature in the game, but just taking the SD card out of my 3DS with a screwdriver and into my laptop is already difficult enough for me and I rather rely on LQ photos than make my Life difficult already. And unfortunately, unlike the Nintendo Switch, there's no USB transfer between 3DS to laptop to make it easy, so you're still stuck with LQ photos! Sorry about that.

Before I want to start this post, I actually want to touch on the gameplay on each Lives for Fantasy Life and Fantasy Life Online by extension. If you're playing FLO, I feel the gameplay is no different from the 3DS except with the touch controls and gatcha, of course. And to start, I want to focus on Paladin, the first class I picked for my character on 3DS.

Paladins are the swordsmen of the game. They wield one-handed swords and shields as part of their jobs to protect Castele and Reveria and they are perfect for beginners who are starting out with JRPGs and any other RPGs you heard of. They also served as tanks because of their Vitality bonuses and are perfect for single-player experiences.

But what about the other Lives though? What are their roles in the game and how useful are they? Well, let's find out, shall we?

For my second Life to tackle, I chose the Miner Life and went to a nearby mine near the city to start my training. Unfortunately, Master Duglas was so scatterbrained that he forgot my first pickaxe, forcing me and his brother, Rocque to get it by myself! Seriously?!

When we got to his house, I learned that there seemed to be an affair between Duglas and his wife, Ruby, saying that she saw her hugging another woman and all. Not wanting to get involved with this small drama, I grabbed my pickaxe and dashed straight back to the mines.

Miners are one of the three Gathering-based Lives in the game. As their name suggests, they gather ores by mining through their pickaxes in caves and such and sell them for profit. However, there's another use for them, which I'll reveal later in the post. Normally, this would end the tutorial without any hiccups, right?

WRONG! The misunderstandings didn't stop there!

When I was selling my first ores after the basics, a woman named Angela approached me and for some reason, she mistook me for Duglas and asked me to get a Topaz without fact-checking who I really am!

(You do realize I'm a GIRL?!)

I got the Special Topaz by mining, clear up some misunderstandings (also, seeing Rocque in love with Angela and wanting to move to Al Maajik), and became a Fledging Miner after returning his lost Amethyst to Duglas and saving his marriage. And honestly, that was the toughest tutorial I've ever done and this was just the second Life, I might add!

So with the ores on hand, I decided the next logical thing to do was to make them into my TOOLS OF VIOLENCE!

I mean, weapons, armor, and tools for my playthrough.

With that, I took on the Blacksmith Life next and met up with Master Vulcan at Castele Crafting Hall. It seemed that he and Duglas were a match made in heaven because he can be very loud when it comes to forging anything or even teaching me the basics of blacksmithing! And he was so loud that I asked Flutter to snuck in earplugs just to save my ears from his constant shouting!

As you can tell, the Blacksmith is one of the 5 Crafting-based Lives in the game that focuses on making metal and leather-based armor and tools along with the usual swords and shields. The way Fantasy Life's crafting gameplay works is by moving around each station and following the button commands on screen such as holding the A button, mashing it, or pushing it at the right time in a quick rhythm game-like minigame. The gameplay is the same in Fantasy Life Online, except with touch controls, so you don't have any problems with muscle memory if you already played the 3DS version before. There are more features hidden with the crafting system, but it's too early for me to say and I need to rank up to unlock them, so moving on from this crazy tutorial story!

After learning how to smelt Bronze Ingots, Vulcan told me that a Blacksmith girl named Magmia requested something and asked me to take it because he was busy with the orders. When I did, I learned that Magmia wanted me to craft a special sword for her Paladin brother, Ignatius, but her grandfather, Steele (who is also a Blacksmith) was very grumpy because of it, called me a slacker, and just went up and left.

(I am not a slacker! I'm a Novice! Wait...)

After grabbing some materials for the commissioned Bronze Sword, Magmia wanted to see her grandfather again at the Crown to clarify about the Red Ingots. But when we got there, he was gone and the waitress informed us that he didn't pay attention to Harmony's performance because he was preoccupied with Iggy's letter when they passed by. I'm surprised that Iggy managed to deliver it to his grandpa, but him just went up and left a concert which made me question his fandom on an idol that screams odd for me.

We almost lost hope when suddenly, an old man (who seemed very familiar) in a mask popped out of nowhere and called himself the Legendary Ironsmith, one of the famous Blacksmiths in Reveria. He somehow managed to turn the Bronze Ingots I had into Red Ingots without a forge and took off without explaining everything. But not before he left a familiar letter that we managed to deduce his identity in a flash, but we rather keep it a secret for his sake. I forged the Custom Bronze Sword (well, Steele came in and worked out the kinks I made) and I got my Fledgling Blacksmith rank!

So mining ore and forging a sword really gave me an appetite, so why not take the Cook Life next? Well, right after convincing Master Alfredo not to kick me out and hire me in the bistro. *clears throat*

Cook is another one of the Crafting-based Lives. Most of the food in the game not only restores either your HP and SP, but they also grant you temporary stat buffs that can help you a lot in many ways. One example is the first food I had to cook for the tutorial: the Carrot Soup. It lets me restore HP and raises Dexterity, a stat that vastly improves on my Dagger attack and Focus with Cooking. Some other items in the game are better than the food, but I'll explain once we get to a certain Life.

Once I did the cooking basics, a new royal cook named Allan came in the bistro and informed us about a bit of buzz about it and King Erik himself wanted to try out one of their wares. Cool! I always want to cook for the king and...

(Oh, come on!)

Since Alfredo's knocked unconscious from the shock of the news, I had to make the Finest Fluffy Omelet by myself (which BTW, omelet is one of the few things I can cook in real life right now and my family calls them "eggcakes"), which of course, it was bound to happen eventually in this kind of tutorial! The curse of being a silent protagonist, I guess. Even though I'm not exactly silent during the whole playthrough.

While grabbing a few ingredients from the farms (in exchange for Sizzle's humiliation with the chickens, don't ask), a famous Cook from Port Puerto named Pedro came with the last ingredient we need and I cooked my way to Fledging rank!

So Cook's done. What else do I need for cooking some food? Oh, yes! Fish!

An Angler's Life I go! It's nothing much for the story, which I have to admit, it's a bit boring compared to the other ones I went through so far. I did the basics with the Fisherman Sage as my Master per usual and showed off an Applefish (which is a fish shaped and tastes like an apple) I caught to a famous Angler from Port Puerto, Seabury, which I won a fishing battle against Isaac.

(Okay.)

However, the Angler gameplay is vastly different from Miner and another Life I will take later on. After you got the fish on your line, you have to hold A to damage the fish's will to break out of it and you need to tilt and hold your Circle Pad to fight against the struggle. Hold it too much and the line breaks and it gets more complicated when you had to catch a rare fish, which you had to keep tilting your Circle Pad and hold A while praying that it won't escape your grasp! Out of all gathering gameplay I experienced, this one is a mixed bag for me, even in FLO which has a different, yet similar gameplay for this Life.

Lastly for this post is the Hunter Life so I can hunt for meat! That's a bit disturbing when you think about it...

After meeting with Master Fern, she asked me to meet with another Hunter, Huntin' Pete for the basics. Which BTW, he seems a bit too lazy for him to be a Hunter, but that's my opinion.

Hunter takes on the role of a ranged fighter of Fantasy Life, but not in the way you think. They have access to special arrows that you can switch anytime with a D-Pad that inflicts any status effects with a Charge Attack. However, the main con is its low attack power, so it's more of a support class focusing on disabling enemies, but you can still make it through on single-player if you're planning to play this Life as your main Fighter Life.

After I learned how to use a bow, I met a sleepy Hunter named Fletcher and when I tagged along with Pete to grab some honey for him, bees caused him to miss most of his shots out of fear and I had to exterminate by myself. Again, the curse of being a silent protagonist...

After we gave him honey, he told us about an owl called Hoodwink and Fern decided to let us hunt it as part of my promotion test. Pete went Leeroy Jenkins before he could hear the rest, being a know-it-all show-off trying to beat me. However, I played smart and with the help of Fern's hunting dog, Lucky, I easily found the Hoodwink and got myself a Fledgling rank. Take that, Pete!

So that's half of the Lives done, but I barely scratched the surface. Again, I want to explore more of the other Lives, but I don't want to make this blog post longer than I intended!

However, I kept on comparing the gameplay from Fantasy Life 3DS and Fantasy Life Online for mobile on this post, so I had to do something about that. Despite the similarities, there are still differences from each game other than the gatcha elements for FLO. Plus, I do want to share my mobile game experiences on this Tumblr blog eventually without interrupting my Fantasy Life playthrough, including a certain Pokemon game that involves 3-on-3 battles that has the word "Masters". I'll make a full review on it once I finished all of the Lives about next week in 2022 so I can compare them more fairly on another post.

I’m so sorry about your bad news, I hope everything turns out eventually even if its dark right now.

As for recs, I am �� not very good at that because I tend to be extremely scatterbrained about things like that. And fluff is that much worse because if it doesn’t have some kind of teeth to it I sort of go “aww that was so nice! Love that!” kudos it, and then immediately forget everything else about it which is not helpful to you.

That said there are two very sweet and soft and (not entirely) fluffy fics that come to mind -

One thing (or several) you should know about me: I'm scatterbrained and very forgetful! Also generally introverted, so I definitely need to be poked if someone wants something, or for rp usually ^-^ I'm trying to get better at that! That is quite hard to determine. I try to follow canon up to the point of where Kaon killed him. But the more I play and write him, the more new aspects he gets, the more things he experiences and the more off-canon he gets. But thats Character development.

This Truck can carry you anywhere you want to go! Just dont let him run out of fuel and Highgrade, don't abuse him and you have one of the loyalest souls in the Universe on your side. This scared and scarred Bot is build like a brick wall and even has some special abilities. I am not talking about his Magna Clamps, which lets him magnetize himself to different surfaces, I am not talking about his Outlier Ability to generate Forcefields!! I am talking about his empathy! This is one, maybe naive, Bot that can think about others viewpoints and where they come from, he is thinking about what he can do about it. This steady Bot can hold so much fuel, you won't believe it! He even always has some juice packs with him, that he offers others. He is the perfect guy to take with you for any occassions. Not bad looking, not as dumb as others perceive him to be and with a strive to show himself to others!

NOW THE OPPOSITE! (list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?)

Even if you think you know him, you don't. He learned that people judge what they see, so he tries to be perfect n their eyes, helpful and polite. Its a mask. He seldomly lets someone get past behind those masks anymore. He is very unsure of himself, very easily guided along with pretty words. But if he likes you and calls you a friend even behind his mask, he would lay down everything for you, which is a nice point for him but an even bigger one against him. He is a drunk, his frame needing way more fuel than other mechs of the same build.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?

To be honest. The first time I saw Teebs in any comic was in the Wrecker-series. And he was just a guy breaking into a situation and smiling that warm smile of his at a friend in need. There was no judgement and no pity there, just a very happy and warm smile. This was the moment I wanted to see more of him. And then I kept on reading. And I was getting more and more desperate to see more about Trailbreaker/Trailcutter. And the more I saw and read up on, the more my heart sank. This was a bot struggling with himself, but smiling for others, being there for others. Someone who wants so depseratly to change and even making true friends along the way after all the shit he had to went through, only to be cut down way before his time, way before anyone could breach all of his walls. And I was crying for him. My heart broken. He deserved so much more, I kept thinking.

It took maybe a few days and a few talks with a friend before I found the courage to really do it, to RP him.

WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION

The Teebs in itself is keeping my attention. The many different layers his char gets the more i play him. And the different people I interact with. Gosh, people. I couldn't do it without you. I love the reactions, I love all the little snippets, I love rereading threads or just mentions. It keeps me going and it keeps my love up. Its awesome.

YES!!! Yes, I love those! I can't get enough of those, because really, you can only wrap your brain around issues and questions and HC for so long before you get stuck. Those questions keep my brain and imagination in the loop and I have so much fun to think about those, to come up with reasonings.

IF SOMEONE DISAGREES TO A HEADCANON OF YOURS, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?  

Eh, I mean. Normally people tell me why they think different. There can be quite some good discussions stemming from that, but mostly, we are humans with different ways of life and different experiences. So naturally we will see some things differently. My Muse is following my own way though, so it all makes sense to me and fits the puzzle in my head.

IF SOMEONE REALLY HATES YOUR CHARACTER, HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?

I would ask myself why they would read what I wrirte then. They can just unfollow me if they hate what I do. You can't cater to every whim. You can't play nice with everyone. But really, if you hate my Muse, why coming back to my Blog then? You have your own opinion and thats all great. So, it really doesnt face me to be honest. As long as it doesnt blow up to hate against me or all people liking what I do.

DO YOU THINK YOU ARE EASY GOING AS A MUN?  

I hope so, but I know or imagine that I am not. I have my problems, my work and time zones to work through. But I dont want to let those get in the way of nice interactions. SPEED: I am the slowest of all slows. I won’t lie and I don’t deny it, and I make it very clear. My life if hectic and tumblr comes after a load of other things so, thread replies usually takes months.

REPLIES: If I see it, I draft it, so I will reply. I always try to reply with the same length as my partner and give enough that can be replied too.

STORYTIME

So I have a GIANT squish on a girl from my school. Let’s call her... Rachel. I saw Rachel for the first time at an orientation day a month or two before we all moved in, and she really stuck out to me cuz I really liked her outfit. She was an art student, like me, and I REALLY wanted to compliment her hair. I was already pushing myself to talk to people that day, but for some reason, I thought she was so cool that I couldn’t bring myself to do it. A few days later, an adhd blog that I’ve been following posted a selfie, AND IT WAS HER!!!!! I couldn’t believe it!! What a small world!!! I probably should have messaged her asap and been like “hey, I saw you at orientation for (school)!! That’s so cool that we’re going to the same place, I’ve followed this blog for a while!! What’s your major? *etc*” But, once again, I was too nervous. (And now reading that back, I’m realizing that’s probably EXACTLY what I should’ve done so I’m kicking myself even more that I didn’t.)

 Since we’re both art majors, once we got to school, I saw her around campus every once in a while, but it wasn’t too much, since she wasn’t in any of my classes. But, a few days ago, I went to the dining hall like 5 minutes after it opened so it wouldn’t be crowded, and there Rachel was, working there!!! So I just ordered my food and waited, thinking how funny it would be if she was the one to give me my food, and guess what happened next. She was the one to give me my food. Shocker. I told her to have a good day, ate my food, and freaked out that we had actually exchanged words. 

I think I’ve seen her around campus at least once a day since then. Later, my friends were arguing about a girl named Rachel. I didn’t know if this was the same one or a different one. One of my friends (lets call her Dana) had matched with her on Tinder and was saying she was at pride, while the other friend was saying there was a girl named Rachel at pride, but a different one. Then, Dana showed me a picture of her and asked if she was at pride, and no, she was not at pride, but yes, it was the Rachel I had a squish on!!! What the fuck!!! So I started thinking, wow, wouldn’t it be funny if Rachel and Dana started dating??? Then, I’m SURE I would meet her at some point!

Guess what happened a few days later.

I was running back to my dorm because I forgot my eraser and I was gonna be late for class when I saw Dana and Rachel walking the opposite direction laughing and holding hands. WHAT THE FUUUCK. I told Dana while speedwalking “I’m gonna be late for class cuz I forgot my eraser aaaaa I’m so dumb!!!!’ and she went “oh no, good luck!!!’ So at this point my head was spinning. While berating myself for forgetting my eraser, I was also silently celebrating cuz if Dana and Rachel are dating, I’m sure I’ll be introduced to her at some point! But then I remembered that Rachel just saw me speedwalking scatterbrained all gross and sweaty cuz I forgot my eraser, but then I also remembered I literally follow her adhd blog, so she’s probably not gonna judge me for that. But THEN I ALSO remembered that Dana is the friend I ranted to about how much I wanted to be friends with Rachel and how I follow Rachel’s adhd blog but I’ve been too nervous to say anything, and Dana probably told her this. I still am not sure how to feel about this. I saw her again on my way back to class, eraser in hand, so I assumed she had just dropped Dana off at her class. I knew that she just saw me panicking over an eraser, and she knows I’m friends with her girlfriend, so I prepared myself for her to say something to me. But either she didn’t see me or she ignored me. I decided this was fine since I was late for class anyway and didn’t have time for a conversation.

But its not over yet. Literally THIS MORNING, I went to the cafe that I’ve been going to every morning I have class in that building, and GUESS WHO WAS WORKING THERE, TOO. WHAT THE FUCK. So I silently panicked and ordered an iced matcha latte, and Rachel groaned and said “another one?!”, laughed and said she was kidding, and I realized that she was already working on one for another customer. After I got my breakfast, I sat down and realized she made a joke. She joked with me!!!!! So I once again silently celebrated.

She HAS to recognize me at this point, right? Not only have I seen her almost every day, multiple times a day, but she knows I’m friends with her girlfriend, and thanks to that, probably knows how badly I want to be friends with her. It REALLY feels like the universe is pushing us together, but I have NO IDEA how to approach her. I’ve had a squish on her for MONTHS, and I’ve known her name and followed her blog and talked about how cool I thought she was and how much I wanted to be friends with her for MONTHS, and I probably know way more about her than she does about me when we’ve literally never spoken to each other, so it really feels like I’m stalking her, when literally every time I’ve bumped into her has been 100% accidental. Mostly, I’m scared that she’ll be creeped out by how I’ve wanted to be friends with her for so long. I kinda hope Dana told Rachel about me so that...... I don’t know, I guess so she’ll hear about me from someone she trusts who also is friends with me? Cuz I can’t get it out of my head that if I try to talk to her it would just seem like I’m like “I know you don’t know who I am but I know who you are and I’ve known who you are for months........” It just seems so creepy to meeee

I feel like someday soon either Dana will introduce us, or Rachel be like “I heard you’re friends with my girlfriend!” or I will be forced to talk to her first. Overall, I just have no idea how to phrase it without seeming weird. And I really don’t want to lie to her and say that I only just found out that I follow her adhd blog cuz if she already knows who I am from Dana and knows I’m too awkward to talk to her, she’ll know that I’m lying, and then I’ll seem even creepierrrr

I think someday if I see her just sitting and eating or something, like when she doesn’t seem busy, I just have to be like “Hey! We’ve been running into each other a lot, huh? That’s pretty weird!” and then try to casually mention that I follow her adhd blog cuz I feel like if we do actually become friends, the longer I go without saying that, the weirder it will be. Now that I think about it, I don’t really know why the adhd blog part is so important to me. I think its just that I know who she is from tumblr so I think it would be weird if I’m pretending that I don’t know anything about her and she’s a stranger to me when I already know who she is. I guess. Like it really feels like we’re destined to be friends, but THAT’S SO WEIRD I CAN’T JUST SAY THAT TO HER IT SOUNDS SO CREEPY!!!!!!

So basically, I’m an awkward mess and it seems like the universe is trying to push me and my squish together and I have no idea how to go about befriending her. HELP

Part One

Bucky was running late. Again. He knew it by the sunlight streaming through his window and also by the shrill ringing of his goddamn phone. The body beside him stirred and groaned, shifting under the sheets as the phone echoed in the expansive bedroom. Bucky groaned, reaching out blindly for his phone, which he answered with a grumble.

“Did you forget?” the British voice on the other line teased. Running a hand over his face, Bucky sighed into the receiver while the brunette beside him cuddled further into his sheets.

“Forget what?”

“I’ll take that as a yes,” Peggy sighed, though she was smirking on the other end. “My replacement starts today, and we’re about fifteen minutes late. I’m downstairs.”

“Shit,” he groaned, head flopping back onto the mattress. “All right, I’ll be down in five.”

“Do I need to take out the trash?” Peggy asked then, and Bucky snorted, opting to reply by hitting ‘End Call’.

“Sorry, dollface,” he then addressed the brunette beside him. Her hair was mussed and makeup smeared. “I need to go and you unfortunately can't stay. There’ll be a car waiting downstairs for you.”

Like he told Peggy, he was downstairs, dressed and hair perfectly coiffed, in five minutes. He was tying his tie when he stepped out into the New York sunshine, a slight breeze on the air signifying that autumn was coming. The British brunette was standing outside the sleek black car, sunglasses on and signature red lipstick stark against her pale complexion.

She tilted her sunglasses down her nose. “Well, it could be worse, all things considered.”

“Thanks, Peg. Good morning to you, too.” Wordlessly he accepted the coffee she handed off to him and slid into the backseat beside him. “Tell me again why I needed to replace you?”

“Because I can’t be your doormat forever,” she snarked back, smirking. “Steve’s accepting that new position at Fury Enterprises.”

“Ah yes, Steve’s becoming a partner. Punk. But why am I losing you again?”

“You’ll be fine, Bucky. This new girl is going to be another me, just you wait.”

Bucky scoffed. “Unlikely.”

The drive to the office was spent with Peggy telling Bucky all about her new replacement. Her name, her former job, what Peggy liked the most about her. She sounded a lot like Peggy, and if she paid attention to Peggy’s training, it would be smooth sailing.

Meanwhile, across town, you sat in the reception area of the office building, tapping your heel against the carpeted floor. Never had you known a boss to be this late, and it made you wonder just what kind of person James Barnes was. You’d done your research on the company after Peggy had contacted you about your resume, wanting to learn everything there was to know about Shield Architects, Inc.

“Miss L/N,” Peggy’s chipper voice echoed through the reception area, “I am so sorry we’re late. This is Mr. Barnes, the CEO of Shield.”

You stood up from the chair, straightening your blouse, and reaching out to shake Mr. Barnes’s hand. Your eyes trailed up, breath hitching when you took in the fact that your boss was a goddamn looker. Bright blue eyes smiled down at you, and his sharply-chiseled face was framed by dark brown hair.

“It’s a pleasure, Mr. Barnes,” you exclaimed with a nervous smile.

“Please, call me Bucky,” he said, grinning a heart-stopping smile, “and the pleasure is all mine. Please forgive me for my rudeness in being late. I....lost track of the days.”

You missed the snide side-eye that Peggy sent him.

“Well, hopefully I can help you with that.” Bucky looked momentarily surprised by your sudden burst of confidence, but then he smiled again and held a hand out towards the elevator.

You walked between him and Peggy as the latter handed you a planner. Skimming through it, you tried to not get overwhelmed as you took in Bucky’s overflowing schedule. Peggy went through explaining the next month’s activities, the most important meetings and conferences. In the elevator, she handed you a file of Shield’s current projects–blueprints, budgets, zoning permits. Each one was color-coded, and you admired Peggy for that.

Bucky, standing on your left, watched you as you absorbed every piece of information Peggy threw at you like a sponge. He knew the job as his assistant was harrowing and stressful at times, but with the way you countered Peggy’s tips and training with questions of your own, Bucky didn’t think you’d have a problem keeping up with him and his busy lifestyle.

“Mr. Barnes prefers his coffee black with two sugars only,” he heard Peggy announce. “You’re to have one ready every morning.”

Bucky opened his mouth, feeling as if Peggy was painting him as some kind of pompous spoiled douchebag, but you were nodding rapidly along, jotting it down in the planner before Peggy launched into something else. He simply stood quietly, knowing he’d never get a word in between Peggy’s directions, until the elevator came to a stop at the top floor and let the three of you off.

You were enamored with the office. Open concept, floor-to-ceiling windows around the entire room, brightening it up considerably. Bucky’s office was offset to the left, the oak door closed with his name engraved on a plaque. Your new desk was a half circle and organized neatly, sitting in the middle of the room.

Bucky stepped over to his office and unlocked the door while Peggy showed you your new desk. She walked you through some of the programs she frequently used on the computer, which, unsurprisingly, was a top of the line Mac. You’d grown up on PCs, but you could figure it out you were sure.

Peggy spent the rest of the morning showing you the ropes and then at noon, you broke for lunch. The building had a cafe on the bottom floor that she took you to, and you bought a wrap while she settled for a salad. She picked a table and you both sat down to eat.

“So, be honest with me,” Peggy began over her salad, “are you overwhelmed?”

You chewed slowly, mulling over your answer. Setting down your wrap, you wiped your hands on a napkin.

“It’s a lot, I’m human enough to admit that.” She nodded in a silent request for you to continue. “But organizing and micromanaging is my specialty, so I don’t think there’s much that scares me.”

“Then I think you’ll be fine,” Peggy replied with a confident beam of her red lips. “Bucky is a great man to work for. He likes his business organized and his workers on top of things, like all of them do, but he’s lenient with pretty much everything else. Except tardiness, so if you’re going to be late you’d better be letting him know a day in advance.”

You nodded in understanding, crumpling the plastic wrap to throw in the trash once your lunch was over. Peggy excused herself from the table and walked over to the counter. She paid for a to-go box and then walked back over to you.

“For Bucky. Sometimes he forgets to eat, so always prepare to pick up something for him. He likes the buffalo chicken wrap. Let’s go.”

When 5:30 rolled around, your mind was sufficiently worn. Peggy had drilled so much information into you that you were sure you could recite Shield’s mission statement forwards, backwards, and in Greek. As you shut down your station, Peggy kindly waited for you. Glancing up, your eyes caught Bucky in his office; his door was open, the lights still on as he bent over his laptop and an open manila folder.

“He often stays late,” Peggy mentioned, catching your glance. “Poor chap’s going to work himself to death one of these days.”

Frowning, you looked over at him again. Before you could rethink it, you called, “Goodnight, Mr. Barnes.”

He didn’t seem to hear you, didn’t even look up from his work, but you didn't take it personally. Peggy offered you a tight-lipped smile as you walked towards the elevator. On the ground floor, Peggy stopped you with a hand on your arm.

“Call me after your first official day tomorrow. We’ll go out for a celebratory dinner. Oh, and don’t forget Mr. Barnes’s coffee tomorrow, black—”

“Two sugars, got it.” You smirked and she did too. “Thank you, Peggy. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”

“You will. And, if you ever need help, just call me. Don’t want you feeling all alone up there.”

“Thank you, Peggy. Get home safe.”

Once back at your apartment, you kicked off your heels in the doorway and padded into the kitchen to make yourself some tea. You’d brought Shield’s project file and Peggy’s donated planner home with you to get ahead of the game in terms of meetings, conferences, and board meetings. Over your mug of tea, you also went over the calendar to see if there were any corporate events planned in the future to extend Shield’s networking reach.

There weren’t. So your mind got to work in formulating an event that would not only benefit the company but the public as well. Your previous job had been in Human Relations, and you were very good at organizing and planning events such as auctions, workshops, and galas. You’d present your ideas to Bucky sometime next week after you had a chance to get completely settled.
