A Christmas Heist Pt. V - Confrontations

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader

Warnings: inaccurate depictions of technology, depictions of violence, flirty Bucket, an actually big word count

Hi guys! This is it! The final addition of “A Christmas Heist”! I am so so glad to have been able to write this out! Of course, this part will be a bit longer than the previous parts, as this is the final part after all. I must thank @world-of-aus immensely for going above and beyond for these action scenes! Without her, this part wouldn’t be what it is! Thank you once again to @hailhydra920 for putting this wonderful request in for the holidays! It was a nice request to kind of dip my feet into the water, as this is my first mini-series! There will be an epilogue to be an official end to this mini series! That shall be posted Monday night! “So you wanted to take a look at the MacBooks that we offer right, Miss?” Steve asks with feigned enthusiasm, keeping up the facade until you two were for sure alone on the table, far away enough from anyone to hear. Steve takes a look around one more time before he whispers, “Okay, so… this should be the section I think. I tried looking for it on the other two tables to your left, but they weren’t there. The serial numbers were getting a bit close, but not quite.” Bucky lightly clears his throat and looks around, adjusting his cap. “Well, it’s the last table with the MacBooks, we can take a look here for sure.” You take another cautious look around, resisting the urge to take the different colored wig that you have on off. “Well, why don’t you two pretend that you’re looking at MacBooks? I have a feeling that it could be here.” You whisper softly. Steve looks at you and nods. “Well, be careful Y/N. I double checked these employee drawers too. No luck anywhere. Shelves may have to be it.” You nod in understanding and waste no time into searching for this darned hard drive.

“Well these MacBooks are said to be our highest selling so if you’d like to take a close look at each one,” Steve offers, voice raised slightly as another employee walks by the three of you.

“That’ll be perfect, thank you,” Bucky gruffs, “should we need any further help I’ll send my husband to find you,” you add. Steve nods and keeps up his raised voice, “No worries, ma’am. Take all the time you need. And umm… and yeah, just take your time,” Steve says softly, turning red as he stutters the last part. You shook your head in embarrassment as you turned away from the blond super soldier who was scratching his head. You look cautiously through the display, pretending to look through the specifics of the MacBook on display before looking at the settings to examine the serial numbers. The search kept going, you were on the brink of bursting due to your frustration, until. “Got it,” you whisper, trying your hardest not to show a huge smile as you notice the serial number perfectly aligns with the serial number that you had written down on your little piece of paper. “You got it?” Bucky says with a hint of excitement as he goes to you, Steve following suit. “Yeah! It should be the one!” You say excitedly. “The hard drive from what I remember should be in these shelves behind us,” you whisper, motioning at the products behind you.

“I’ll cover for you,” Steve offers, with Bucky nodding in approval. “Yeah so will I. I think you know this techy thing more than I do.” You playfully roll your eyes, starting the search from the box of airpods that were stacked along the shelf. “It’s just a different type of package that we’re after, Buck. Nothing much really.” Bucky only scoffs as he keeps pretending to look at MacBooks with Steve, looking around cautiously. However, his eyes widened. “No… oh hell no…” He grunts under his breath. “What is it, Buck?” Steve whispers, looking around even more cautiously. But then his answer was arriving at full speed.

It was Rumlow, striding his way into the store, eyes looking around the store, but for what? You three would not even know. “Shit.. shit shit shit…” Bucky mutters in frustration. “Y/N, sweetheart, if you have found that damn packaging, you might as well tell us now.” He whispers in a harsh tone into the comm. “Seriously, Buck? Don’t rush me, I’m about more than halfway into the stock!” The two men hear you say into their earpiece. “I think we have every right to rush you right now, doll. We’ve got company. Your 6 o’ clock.” You hear Steve say in a pressing tone, causing you to turn around right behind you to see Rumlow approaching what must be a fellow Hydra agent. Your eyes widen, rushing your process on that shelf. “Oh come on… come on..” you tell yourself, heart beating fast as you try your hardest to find that packaging. But then you soon see it, a white box of the same size, but no, it did not show the image of a pair of AirPods, it was just blank. No little text, nothing.

“Y/N… Y/N, come on let’s go.”

“Y/N! Stop. Put it all back.”

You couldn’t. You couldn’t stop now, you’re so close.

You were about to reach for it, but quickly jumped when you felt a tap on your shoulder.

Shit.

You sighed in relief when you see Bucky, quickly tensing up when you see his stern face. “Did you not hear me and Steve? We gotta put this back.” he orders, stealing some of the boxes to place quickly back on the shelf.

“But Buck I almost got i-”

“Yes you did. But this isn’t the time and place to obtain that right now. They can’t know that we know!” He hisses, holding your hand after putting away the last of the box, leading you to Steve. “We’re lucky if they do not plan on moving this out of this section, do you u-” Bucky continues, but you hush him. “Steve, come on, escort us out.” “Don’t you dare interrupt me, sweetheart this shit’s dangerou-”

“Shh! Rumlow is near…” you whisper quietly, rubbing your nose. Steve wastes no time when he fakes to reorganize the MacBooks in their rightful place. “Right, I’m so sorry we could not fit your needs, ma’am. I do hope you do reconsider.” Steve says and you both nod. “It’s alright. Give us time to mull it over today, Andy. I think I can get my husband to change his mind. Thank you.” You get more weary when you see Brock looking at the three of you with a suspicious eye. You were glad when you saw that the other two noticed. “Thank you for coming to the Apple Store. I hope you enjoy your day,” Steve says as he walks you both out, making it clear to the employees. “Alright, I found that there’s an alternate route to get out. If you want to go to the parking lot, try to go through Bloomingdales, walk around the building, cross the other plaza, and then the lot is on the right.” Steve whispers hurriedly and you two nod, trying your best to go out as smoothly yet swiftly as possible.

“Steve, I need you to keep watch of that package. We gotta see where they move it. Please.” You whisper into your comms shakily, clinging onto Bucky’s gloved hand as you quickly walk into Bloomingdales. “I think you need to keep watch of something worse. Or someone.” You hear him say, causing you and Bucky to look at each other in realization. “Fuck,” You groan as the two of you quicken your pace. “Yeah… I know… Rumlow heard from a fellow agent you two were going near the package. If you haven’t gone through Bloomingdales. Now is the time.” You hear Steve say imperatively. The pace has quickened, the strides were longer, and your grip on your boyfriend’s hand is long gone as you two made your way down the escalator to the first floor quickly and out the door.

Once you two were out, the walking quickly turned into running. Bucky hears the door hurriedly open as well as fast footsteps. “Shit, sweetheart. Come on let’s go through that outdoor mall. It might be a shortcut,” He grunts, you two quickening the pace as a whole group of pedestrians start walking across the street, you two blending in quickly in the middle of the group. You turn around to see Brock a bit far behind you. But this was not the end.

You had to keep up the strides once again, trying to avoid bringing the security into the mix, so you stayed with the crowd of people. Luckily it came to the point where everyone was squished against each other’s bodys, you weaved through the crowds alongside Bucky, getting yourselves closer and closer to the parking lot. “Drop your jacket.” Bucky orders, you look at him in shock. “What?! Why?! What for?” “Misdirection, sweetheart,” He says grabbing your hand once you take it off, leading you towards an empty alley, making you have a run for it. “You’re so crazy! I love this jacket!” You hiss, your heels clicking against the concrete as you ran alongside bucky. “Oh shush, I’ll buy you another one. Drop it… now.” He says, resulting in you throwing down the jacket as you sharply turned to your right when you got to the sidewalk of the busy road beside you. Sure enough, you hear Brock’s hurried footsteps echoing far behind you.

You two quicken your pace, hopping into Bucky’s motorcycle, you in front of him, his arms wrapped around your torso. The engine roared before you two quickly zoomed out of the farthest exit possible, quickly weaving your way onto the busy road and hiding the two of you behind cars. “You know, I should be driving that so you don’t gotta worry.” You hear Bucky remark. You smile. “Sometimes, your girl needs a turn. Payback for making me let go of that jacket.” You couldn’t help but snicker at how lost Rumlow looked around running in frustration with the jacket of yours clenched in his hand on the sidewalk. He may have been smart and burly, but boy, was he clueless out in the open. You knew Bucky saw it two as the lights turned green, starting on your journey home.

“He must be so lost.” You remarked, giggling as you concentrate on the road. You smiled when you felt Bucky’s chuckle rumble onto your body, playfully groaning when Bucky playfully kisses and nips at your neck. “I bet… you ran fast on those heels of yours two… proud of you…” You playfully huff, shaking your head. “Well I’m supposed to be mad at you. You know that jacket is Christian Dior?” Bucky only chuckles into your neck. “Like I said, I’ll get you another one.” A smile cracked on your face, shaking your head. “How are we like this after what just happened?” “It’s our job, sweetheart. Sure it’s a bit panicky when we are on the field, but hey… there’s nothin’ you and I can’t do.” He says into your ear. “Yeah… you’re right…” you chuckle, turning a right to go inside the parking lot of the apartment complex. “Let’s just hope he has doubts that it’s you. He must know it’s me for sure.” You snort. “Nah… Wore a cheaper perfume today in case of run-ins like these.”

“Jesus, you’re a genius, sweetheart.”

“Can you two remember that I am still on the comm with you guys? At least turn it off.”

You called the manager to say that you were going to be late today. Bucky promised that he’d stay alongside the pouty Santa Claus to make sure no one apprehends you or Steve. You sigh shakily as you watch Steve unlock the door. “Deep breaths, doll. I know you hate the idea of being in public doing this, but we are here a good hour before opening time. So you can do this with no problem. You’re disguised. So let’s hope. We ran through this plan three times last night. Trust your instincts.” Steve reassures you as he opens the door for you. You nod, thanking him as you quickly went to get the small box. Fury knows. They’re waiting for you guys to finish this.

“So it was in there, huh?” Steve asks, as he sees you hurriedly make your way to a laptop that he just turned on. He’s already getting flustered at how the default home screen turned into another black screen filled with numbers and letters. You only nod, concentrating on the task at hand. “What are you doing?” Steve asks softly, as he looks around, trying to find a way to pass the time. “Altering the firmware to install a backdoor.” You simply respond as you type furiously at the keyboard.

Steve only nods, shaking his head and scratching the back of his head. “Shouldn’t have asked… no idea what that mean-”

“Done. Okay next.”

His eyebrows raise. “A-Already?!”

“I hope you have your shield in handy just in case.” You mutter as you keep on going. “I do… Yeah, Buck has it in the case Brock goes after ‘im.” He responds, visibly confused at your work. “What are you gonna do, Y/N?” He keeps questioning, preferring to know what you are doing than sitting in silence. “We’re gonna load surveillance and let headquarters control their softwares at boot up. They can have cont-”

All thoughts were halted when the glass doors burst open, showing a couple of men and women storming through. “Shit,” you mutter, “I got it,” Steve grunts as he moves forward, “you keep working I’ll keep them off you as long as possible.

Steve wasted no time as he rushed forward taking on the first man that ran at him.

Your eyes fly back and forth between the men rushing at Steve and the screen.

“You good?!” you call as he’s kicked to the floor only to jump right back up. He licks the blood from his lips glaring at the men in front of him body guarded as he keeps them from getting to you.

“Keep going Y/N,” his eyes meet yours, “I could do this all day.”

You want to make a remark but the middle goon runs at him, and Steve’s legs sweep up and out sending the man arms up and spread out right into the other two. Your eyes dash back to the computer screen, “Give me two minutes!”

“Don’t worry about me,” he grunts, “get it done!” Your fingers continue to clack against the keyboard, muttered curses falling from your breath as you will the damned machine to hurry, Steve could only go so long against three men with the other two standing guard by the door.

The machine beeps, “I got it Steve!”

“Gr-” he takes a fist to the face, the force enough to send him back towards you. A gasp leaves your lips as you fall away from the device.

Your hands are reaching for your friend, but one of the men gets brave as he rushes you, his hands fisting into the back of your shirt. He sends you flying back, your body skidding away from Steve and into the two by the door way. You have but a second to react, the two standing guard by the door now moving at you. Deft fingers reach for your hidden holster, your fingers hooking around the taser disk as you quick flick it to the goon that had sent you flying back.

They may be quick but you’re quicker.

He goes down in a shock before he can reach the computer, “Steven the hard drive - AH!” you get out, “You’re not going anywhere, rat,” the girl by the door hisses as she pulls you back. “Looks like we have more than one rat,” the other calls out as he kicks the hat from Steve’s head, the kick sending him back into the displays. The goon turns his head to the others, “Take her out,” he mutters, “Let’s worry about this traitor here.” You’re scrambling on your feet trying to find some leverage against the pain radiating from your scalp as you are thrown from the store.

You’re not up quick enough as they lock the door, the grey walled barricade coming down, a sinister smirk kissing the lip of the hydra goons.

“Steve!”

“Steve’s not the one you should be worrying about, Mrs. Claus, or should I say Agent L/N.”

Chills creep up your spine, and you’re turning slowly on your heel, eyes hard as you glare at the man before you.

“Rumlow,” you grunt, he wipes at blood splitting his lip. “Gotta say agent you all almost had us, but that sly trick of yours,” he steps forward, “You know... the one where you took my keys, that agent that’s where you really fucked up, did you really think I wouldn’t notice,” he tsks, “figured you all might be smarter but then again, think I prefer it like this, you’ll be easier to take down.”

Rumlow advances on you then, his body slamming into yours as he takes you down around the waist. You scrabble to get leverage, the base of your palm meeting his nose.

“Bitch,” he grunts as he falls off to the side, your body moving to stand. Your eyes fall to the store where the commotion is even louder.

“I wouldn’t worry about your friend there,” Rumlow spits a grin appearing on his face, “he’s not going to last very long.”

You’re the one charging now as you creep closer, your body dropping slightly as you let your leg sweep out and send Rumlow right back onto his back.

“You won’t last long out here either.”

“We’ll see about that,” he growls his fingers pressing to his ear as he mumbles something foreign to your ears. Your head snaps to the side where the grey gate is slowly lifting, the goon that had thrown you from earlier waiting for the gate to fully lift.

Shit.

You watch as Rumlow pushes to stand on his feet, his stance unfaltering as he waits; it’s not long before the door to the store is being pushed open, the goon falling out, grunts and crashes coming from within the store.

“You see agent, you all thought you were slick, but really we knew all this time, just like Fury sent in his rats, we’ve sent in ours.”

Your eyes widen at the news, “Oh don’t look so shocked, it was never going to end well for the lot of you, though I wish it would have, you’re not such a bad kisser,” he smirks, “we could have been something you and I, but I guess maybe in a different world,” he hums. It’s a split second before they’re both charging at you, one leg swings out as your foot meets the agent’s chest knocking him back only slightly as your hands grip at Rumlow.

You climb the burly man, your fingers reaching for the garrote hidden in your boot.

You hook the wire around Rumlow’s neck, tightening it around your fingers as you pull roughly. Rumlow chokes as he tries to knock you off, you don’t see that the goon has gotten his bearing and is now charging at you, but it’s not like he would have made it a step closer.

“Y/N!” you hear Bucky scream, “Duck!”

Your eyes flash up, seeing Bucky running at you shield in hand, the jingle of the bell from his hat and shoes being heard. He stops mid stride to throw the vibranium shield towards you. Your fingers tighten on the metal string in your grip, your body tilting back as you and Rumlow fall to the side, the shield whizzing past you.

It takes the goon in its path down, knocking three more in its way out.

“About damn time Buck,” you hear Steve shout out, the ping of the metal meeting face reaching your ears.

You couldn’t help the hopeful smile that appears on your face as you see the blond super soldier run to the door and catch it successfully, using it to knock out the other agents coming at him. You try to get up, making the wire retract on its own, the main objective to get back into the store. You yelp when you feel a strong hand grab onto your ankle, making you thud face first against the tiles of the mall. By instinct, you kick your heel against the face, hearing Rumlow groan as you get up. You hear a crack and you look behind in shock, seeing the burly elf pinning Rumlow in the ground, landing a hard punch at him, the blood from his face matching the redness of the Santa costume. “Go! Go get that thing and let’s get out!” You hear Bucky exclaim to you, you only nod and push through the glass doors, hopping over the unconscious bodies to get to the laptop, taking the hard drive out of the port for good measure. Sighing in relief, you tuck it in a secure place and quickly run to Steve as he gets his shield.

“Come on, let’s go,” Steve says as you nod, paging headquarters to quickly get the agents that had participated into custody. You two run out and see Bucky throw one final punch before Brock is unconscious, bloody face and nose evident. “BUCKY STOP! COME ON!” You exclaim as you and Steve make a run for it. It is only a few seconds until Bucky catches up with you, quickly running to the car. You three quickly left, more than ready to go straight to the med bay.

Summary: you’ve always had a crush on him bcs he simply was your type but nothing really happened unitl You & Luka get set up as project mates

Side note: I know that it’s the twelth of october but i just started it, i’ll write some more for fictober but i’ll use the prompts as i see fit bcs i’m just like that so yeah. anyways i hope this makes some kind of sense, its been a long time since i finished something i began writing. okay so i also wanted to write luka because there’s not many fics with him with an “x reader” tag. okay talk over, enjoy the story babes!!!!

"Hey."

I turned around in my seat and smiled. "Hi, Luka."

"So... how'd you wanna do this?"

I cocked an eyebrow. "Do what?" Luka shared an amused smile. "Oh!" I face-palm. "The project! Right." I picked up the notebook with my notes from my desk and slammed it on his desk. Then I rotated it in his direction. "This is how we're going to do it."

"Wow, you've really thought this through already."

I rest my face on my hand and smirk. "It's no coincidence that I ace my presentations."

"I guess I'm lucky then."

"More than you think." I straighten my back. "Okay, no funny business tho. You fuck up and I'll make you suffer all the way to June. Take a picture of them notes so you have a copy and have a slight idea of what's going on."

He puts up a half-amused smile, "this ain't my first rodeo."

"But it's your first bullfight, so keep up." He laughed and I bit my lip. I might've gone overboard.

"I'll do my best," he assured in a soft voice. Holy shit. He's so mellow. As soon as I was sure he had a picture of my notes, I took his phone. I entered into his contacts and added my number then dialed myself.

I show him the screen of my phone. "Now we have each other's numbers." He smiled before I turned around just in time for the teacher to get in.

I was watching dessert recipes on YouTube when I received a message from Luka. The popup appeared from an Unknown number which reminded me that I forgot to add him to my contacts.

At dinner, I couldn't stop thinking about Luka. We might've never talked much to each other but I always had the hots for him. He was just my type: tall, supposedly long hair for a boy, dyed hair, punk-like feel and especially (these just get me going) those black gauges in his ears. Anyways, I'd lie if I said I never got distracted in class because of the smell of his cologne.

"Thank you for dinner, [Y/N]," said my mom after she cleaned the table.

"Don't forget to do the dishes, love."

"Yes, Dad," I chuckled.

"We're off to bed, then. Goodnight, [Y/N]."

"Goodnight, mum. Goodnight, dad."

That night, I fell asleep thinking about how nice that chat conversation with Luka was.

I groaned loudly when I got into class. I ran because I was late for geography. When I got to class, the lack of a teacher at the desk made me want to kill myself. My classmates were scattered around the classroom in groups, as usual when a teacher was absent. Done with life, I walk to my desk, drop my backpack and accommodate my face on the desk. Suddenly, somebody is standing next to me. But I really just wanted some sleep so my first intention was to ignore whomever until well, it's self-explanatory.

"Looks like someone spent all night thinking about me."

"What!?" I see Luka. Now fully energized and heart pumping, I stutter: "No, no. What are you even saying?"

He laughs and takes a seat on the vacant spot in front of me. He rests his arms on my desk. "I'm just messing with you, wanted to see the reaction I'd get out of you. I wasn't expecting to fully wake you up." He smiles broadly and I stare into his eyes.

Have you ever met that person, no matter who they are, their eyes are so enthralling that you just can't help but keep staring at them? These kinds of eyes just have something... Something I'm unable to describe. And when I stare at them, they're so glossy and shiny.

"I think you'd look amazing if you wore eyeliner."

"Huh?" Half of his face moves upwards in sync. "That's very random."

"I mean, yeah." I look away, fidget with my bracelet and then look back. "I just thought it'd bring your eyes out even more."

"Ooh," he exhales knowingly. "Because they're blue, right?"

I knit my eyebrows together. "No," I say offended. Had this boy never realized how nice his eyes are?

"Why then?" He asks and nods his head onto his arms.

"Well," I lick my lips, "I don't know." I shrug "It's not because of the color, which is beautiful just so you know." I caress my arm and try very hard to maintain eye contact, occasionally looking away. "Your eyes, I don't know, they just have something."

He smiles at my words, "look who's talking."

"Not a clown, that's for sure." He groans in a boyish way and it melts my insides so warm I almost let it show.

"You won't let it go, won’t you?" He lays defeated on my desk, arms sprawled.

"You did that to yourself." He hummed in a way that seemed a mixture of displeasure and annoyance. His long hair was sprawled in every direction of my desk. I could tell that he washed his hair either last night or this morning —it smelled so nice. Luka smelled really nice and I couldn't help but bite my lip to restrain myself from sniffing him all over like I was some kind of dog-bred. I started playing with his hair and it was so much softer than I expected it to be, it was dyed after all. He let a pleasurable groan slip through.

"Does this bother you?"

Luka abruptly opened his eyes and forced my head to rest on the desk as well. With very soft caresses he ran his hand through my locks and I understood what it was that he intended.

"What about you?"

I stared into his eyes for a moment and closed them, then resumed playing with his hair as he did the same. We were so close, I could hear his silent breathes. I wondered if this could be considered as cuddling. Honestly? I didn't care because I was enjoying it.

"Hey, guys, look at [Y/N] and Luka."

"Woah, when did that happen."

"Never thought [Y/N] liked that type of guy."

"You're kidding, right? Luka's definitely her type."

We spent the rest of the hour like that. Somewhere in between, the rest of the class noticed us but, frankly, we paid them no mind. But it made me anxious. Not because of what they said but about what Luka might've thought about it.

"I kind of like this," he whimpers softly as if scared he'd break whatever we had going on.

I agree with him softly, just as scared to ruin the mood.

When the bell rang, we hesitantly broke apart. Luka returned to his assigned seat behind me and then class started. The moments the teacher repeated subjects the class already went through, Luka played with the ends of my hair.

After the school bell rang for the last time that day, Luka approached me. He asked if I wanted to start on the project today. Luka was so cute while he asked. He didn't do anything particularly cute but the way he looked when he leaned on the wall had sent me flying. Obviously, I said that it was a good idea. Not desperately, of course, even though I wanted to grab him and steal him away. I kept my cool.

"What time?"

He grimaced to hide a grin. "I was hoping, like, right now?"

"Uh, well... On any other particular month, I'd agree and take you to my house. But we're getting reformations done so it's a very big mess."

"We can go to my place." He states like it's a universal fact.

"But all my shit's at home, and I'd want to empty my backpack, grab some money, etcetera."

"Okay, I get it. I can take you home and we'll head right over to mine?"

Even though I might pass out any moment out of pure embarrassment, I cross my arms in an 'X' in front of his face.

"No way that's happening, clown boy."

"What? Why?" He frowns.

"No way in hell I'm letting you drive me on your motorbike."

A small laugh escapes his lips. "You've never been on a motorcycle?"

I act displeased.

Luka laughs with a hand on his stomach. "You haven't!" I scowl and his laughter subdues. He waves his hands in front of him and apologizes for laughing. "I'll be careful, just for you." He assures.

"Even if I agreed... I doubt you'd have a second helmet. And we all know that police officer which has an obsession for the law."

"I got us covered on that one, I have two."

I stare at him. "You had this all planned out, didn't you?"

"No," he grins, "it just happens to be that I usually pick my sister up from her school."

"Oh, so she's gonna have to walk all the way back to your house. We can't let her do that, can we?" No matter how much I crush on Luka, anything that can get me out of sitting on that devil's contraption, I'd go with.

"I said 'usually', didn't I?" I can feel his smirk soaking right through me but in a much more softer tone he said "it'll be fun," and smiles "trust me."

It was his goddamn smile that convinced me to agree.

"I never knew you could live in a boat."

I looked around the main deck and, for some reason, I felt very lightweight and free.

"You don't like it?"

"The contrary, I love it!" I smile at him, "it adds to your charm."

Luka smiles back, "thanks."

Both of us walked inside the boat. I took everything all at once. You rarely get the chance to be inside a boat-home. But the most surprising thing was that it was stable —at least more than I thought.

"My room's the one at the end. Get yourself comfy —I'll be right there."

I bite the inside of my cheek. "Okay."

Once I get into his room, I relax and take a look around. I leave my backpack by the door and head straight for the most valuable thing to me in his room. Luka had one of the nicest guitar stands available on which laid the most basic electric guitar ever... but since looks can deceive, I pick it up.

I make myself comfortable on his bed along with Luka's guitar and a guitar pick I snatched from the wall. Without thinking twice, I started to play. It didn't matter to me that I hadn't plugged the guitar into an amplifier, this particular tab didn't need the magic of electricity. I suppose I should have asked first if I could play but it's too late now-

"That's 'Lonely Day', right?"

"Ah! Shit! Sorry!" I stood up hastily, the guitar pick went flying to the floor and I placed the guitar back where it was supposed to be. I turn to him to apologize, "I should've asked-."

Luka walks past me, grabs the guitar by its fretboard and puts the strap around himself. He shuffles around me and I was too confused to realize what he was doing. Then he hands me the guitar fully-tuned-connected-to-an-amplifier guitar. He lifts it by the fretboard again and hands it over to me as if telling me to take it. I stare into his eyes and do exactly that.

At that moment, we didn't need any words as I accepted his silent offer. I strum dumbly and then start fidgeting with the knobs on his amplifier. I bite my lip, it doesn't have as many options as mine and it's smaller than the one I have at home but I managed to get the right sound.

I started playing a song that I had played countless times and felt very confident. This moment was about impressing Luka and I was determined to blow him away. But the moment I started playing, I couldn't keep up the cool-girl act and grinned as I played around the room.

"Wow," he said amazed after I finished. "I never knew you played guitar, let alone that well."

"I'm amazing, I know," I wink.

"What did you play?"

"You don't recognize it!?" I gasp loudly. I put my hands over my heart. "Oh, my heart! It hurts! I have never been so hurt before!"

He holds back an embarrassed smile. "Guilty as charged."

"It's Crowd Chant, by Satriani," an exaggerated sad smile adorns my lips.

"Oh, right! The guy from 'Surfing with the Alien'!"

"Yes, that one! I love him, he's my idol!"

"He's good."

"Good? He's a GOD." I pout at him. "Your idol is Jagged Stone, that's why you have so little appreciation for him."

"Right."

I playfully punch him. "Just kidding."

"I thought I was supposed to be the clown around here."

I laugh very loud at that. "Yes! I will - haha - leave - ha - the rest to you."

During the week we were making the project we had gotten really close and we kept hanging out at each other's houses even when the project was long ago finished. I met his very cool mum, and his sister, who is physically exactly like him but both of them don't seem to admit it. And he met my small family too.

"I keep telling you! You do look alike! Genetics is no joke."

"I agree with [Y/N]!" Juleka's friend said one day over dinner. I can't remember what her name was but I always thought there was more than 'friends' between her and Juleka.

"We do not look alike; you both must be very blind," Luka jokes and I pinch him very hard. "Ow! Stop!" He pinches back.

"No! Luka! That was payback for yesterday!" He stuck his tongue out at me and I growl. "You're very mean."

He shrugs, "whatever you say, [Y/N]."

"Oh, 'whatever I say' it is, is it?" I crossed my arms and pondered without breaking my staring contest with Luka. "So if I said you're ugly, you'd agree?"

He smirked, "sure." I felt how triumph tasted and literally a second later I tasted defeat. "But it won't affect the fact that my eyes have 'something'."

I became a blushing mess and everyone at the table stared at us.

"So..." Juleka started, unsure. "Does that mean that [Y/N] confessed first?"

Juleka's blonde friend nodded, "I knew it!"

"I'm happy for the both of you," Mrs. Couffaine cheered with a very sweet smile.

There was a problem with their cheers which made Luka and me quite uncomfortable. It was wrong. Nothing had happened between us.

"It's...! It's not like that!" I attempt to defend ourselves and turn to Luka. "That's not what that was, right, Luka?"

He was looking in the opposite direction, scratching his crimson red neck. "I mean..."

I hide my face in my hands. "Oh my God, I want to kill myself."

"You know what? We will leave you both to work out whatever misunderstanding there might be, okay?" And with no answer, all three of them left.

"Let's go outside." With no warning, Luka took me by the hand and guided me to the main deck. It was chilly outside and I shivered but kept it to myself. "Here." Luka handed me his jacket.

"Thanks," I smile and put it on. It still smells like his cologne.

"About what Juleka said..." He avoided my gaze by looking into the river. "I might've told her that I like you," he turns to me and takes my hands, "a lot." Luka squeezes my hands out of nervousness. "The way you and I understand each other, without any words, just the music is enough. I feel like we're connected through it like we are the power-chords to any rock song."

My heart was melting, I always knew deep down that Luka's a very sweet romantic and he was killing me with his cuteness. I never knew you could look cute and hot during a confession. "Luka, I-"

"Remember when we sang 'Anything better than you'?"

"Yeah."

I recalled the memory. At the end of the song, when the part that goes "I can sing anything sweeter than you" our lips were so close... I couldn't stop thinking about it before I fell asleep every night.

"I wanted to kiss you so badly, but I just couldn't do it." Luka pulled me in and we were as close as that other time, my heart was beating so hard I could hear it in my ears. "Until now."

Luka kissed me and I kissed back. We kissed each other so desperately and I ran my hand through his hair. Fuck, how I loved the softness of his hair. We break apart for a kiss and stare at each other's eyes, dumbfounded. We kiss again except this time it wasn't as desperate. It was softer, a kiss only Luka could make amazing. Luka had thin lips but made up for it with the way he kissed. I wanted to kiss him more, I wanted more from Luka so I kissed him harsher. Then he broke apart the kiss, clearly taken aback from it.

My heart stopped, "I... I'm sorry-!" He cut me off by kissing me harsher than I did and I loved every second of his harshness. I began feeling his neck, his back, his chest and pushed myself closer to him as every second that passed it became hotter.

We broke the make-out apart. Our flushed faces appreciated the cool night breeze. We keep wrapped around each other. "I think we should get back inside."

I listened to his pounding heart through his chest. "Not yet, clown boy."

"Whatever you say, love."

“okay.” you said, pulling your boyfriend from chris’s arms into yours, “and you didn’t think to take him to a Fucking Hospital.”

“i DID! he said no! he said he wanted to spend his last moments with you-”

“LAST MOMENTS???”

“god. you’re both so dramatic. you’re perfect for each other.” chris rolled his eyes, “now if you’ll excuse me, i have better things to do, like go to a Fucking Hospital.”

you close the door, wasting no more time and dragging jisung’s weak body to your bathroom. you pushed him down - gently - onto the closed toilet seat.

you had a few first aid kits in your house, mostly bc jisung wasn’t the Best on his bike. you’ve handled many cuts and scratches, but nothing like this.

you take this moment to finally look at him and assess the damage.

he’s staring back at you, his eyes only half open. but you assume that’s all he can open them.

his lip was busted, and he had a large gash on his cheek. his arms were covered in various bruises, but that’s all you could see.

“c-can you lift your arms, sungie?”

jisung nodded, slowly lifting his arms above his head, wincing the whole way.

you grabbed the hem of his shirt, pulling it up slowly.

“fuck, jisung. what did they do to you?”

“is it bad?”

“um!” you didn’t want to worry him, “no-”

“you’re lying, aren’t you?”

“i am. i really really am.” you folded his shirt, setting it on the sink. you would wash it later. he has shirts here.

you sighed. his stomach was painted with a mix of red, purple, and blue. that couldn’t be good.

“do you need my pants off too?” when you looked back at his face, he was smirking - or at least trying to.

“are you- are you trying to be fucking cheeky with me right now, han?”

“is it working?”

“no.”

“fine,” he sighed, “i think i have a few cuts on my legs. get out for a second.”

“get- GET OUT? jisung. i need to fix you up. i can’t leave.”

“fine!”

there was nothing Intimate about this moment. yeah, he was taking off his pants, but you were worried out of your fucking mind.

and he was right. there were cuts on his legs. in particular, a really long one that ran halfway down his thigh.

you let out a groan, deciding that That was what you were going to clean first. you took rubbing alcohol and a pad, mumbling a quick apology to the boy before going in.

he whined and pouted like a fucking Baby, but he was a big baby most of the time, so you didn’t even flinch.

you started off cleaning and patching up all of his smaller cuts, and pressing soft kisses around his bruises because you know it makes him happy.

and you’d do anything to make him happy, especially when you know he’s in a lot of pain like this.

but you waited to do his face, because he was Extra sensitive there and would demand More kisses.

“i don’t know what i can do about your stomach, sung.”

“who cares?”

“what the- i care, jisung.”

“listen to me, baby,” jisung grabbed your wrist, pulling you closer. he wrapped his arms around your waist, propping his chin on your stomach as you looked down at him, “i don’t really care if i die. i’m here, and you’re here, and that’s all that really matters to me.”

see, that was something you never understood about jisung.

he was so determined to have a future, and he was talented enough to have one. but he also...didn’t care?

if there was an opportunity for jisung’s life to be in danger, he would take it.

he said he was just Living In The Moment, but he seemed a little extreme about it.

“or. i could just take you to a Fucking Hospital.”

“baby,” he whined, “i don’t wanna go to a hospital. they’re scary. if i’m gonna die, i’m gonna die. i can make sick beats for jesus.”

“and what makes you think you’re going to heaven?” you giggled, pushing his arms away so you could go back to your first aid kid.

“because i already have an angel down here on earth with me.”

you blushed, but hid it with an eye roll.

“okay, cheeseball. let’s work on this face.”

you made sure you were extra careful with his face, especially his eyes.

he was Definitely gonna have a black eye, and the thought of it made you pout.

you moved the pad away from his face, watching his eyes wandering around your face, the fondest of smiles gracing his cracked lip.

and then you thought back to his stomach, and oh god what the fuck were you gonna do?

and then you had the thought of losing him.

losing jisung, your rock. the boy who had you head over heels from the first day you met. the boy who picked you up on his motorcycle and took you anywhere, no questions asked. the boy who sat with you and listened to you stress over exams and college, even though he couldn’t relate to any of it. the boy who meant the whole world to you, and you couldn’t imagine life without your world.

unbeknownst to you, you were crying at this point.

“hey, hey, hey, what’s the matter, baby?” jisung’s hands came up to hold your face, wiping your tears away with his thumbs.

“you’re so fucking dumb jisung, getting your ass kicked like this.”

“well, it wasn’t really my intention, baby.” he smiled.

jisung feels bad.

really, really bad.

he woke you up at GOD knows what time and he’s bleeding all over your floors and he’s bruised to hell and he feels like he’s dying.

i mean. he doesn’t know what dying feels like. but he Assumes it’s this.

it’s hard to keep his eyes open and he feels so, so weak. he just wants to go to sleep.

but you! you were his angel and if he was gonna go to sleep, he wanted you to really, truly, deeply know how he felt about you.

jisung had read somewhere (yes, he reads) that you could put all of your feelings for a person into a kiss.

so he tried that!

and you could feel it.

he tasted like blood and rubbing alcohol, but you could feel it.

every time jisung kissed you, you felt sparks, fireworks, the whole shebang.

but this one was special. he was kissing you like it was the last time he was ever going to be able to, because he felt like it was.

you knew it wasn’t, but you didn’t really mind how breathless a kiss like that made you.

then he smiled at you, small but blinding, and closed his eyes.

“god, jisung, you really are something else, huh?” you whispered to him.

jisung was fucking HEAVY when he was asleep.

dragging him to ur car was like dragging 18 million SANDBAGS.

ok not that heavy but ur Dramatic ok.

that was one of the scariest drives of ur whole life!

it was silent, so you could listen to him breathing.

the doctors took him in and fixed him all up (and some of the nurses had to help u steady ur breathing).

you sat in one of the annoyingly uncomfortable chairs next to his hospital bed, your knees pulled up to your chest as you waited.

there was nothing seriously wrong with him, but he did have a broken pinky.

how u didn’t notice before? i dunno man u were more worried about the Crime Scene on his belly.

which was fine!

jisung was fine!

he was kinda grumpy when he woke up though >:(

“i told u i didn’t wanna come to a hospital >:(“

“and I Told You i didn’t want you to die.”

“u never said that :)”

“i don’t think i have to say i don’t want the love of my life to die i think that’s implied-”

“i’m the love of your life? :D”

you scoffed, reaching over and flicking his forehead lightly.

“bite me, han jisung.”

yes, he was the love of your life. but you wouldn’t give him the pleasure of hearing that.

don’t worry, he knows.

and besides, you’re the love of his life, too.

‘don’t you think it’s a bit excessive?’

sam takes the moment to pause, eyes falling on his very distressed mother. it’s usual for her she’s always been a high-strung woman. it only makes him smile more as he hops on the motorcycle.

“what’s wrong now mom?” ‘the motorcycle.’ “the piercings, the tattoos, i’ll be fine.”

he’d only just received his license but he’s been riding for the better half of two years. she’s only worried because he’s picked up the habit from his father and she’s afraid it’ll lead to other habits. unlikely. he gives her a fair kiss on the cheek before the helmet is on, secure and he’s revving the engine.

“you’ll miss your flight and I will be fine. I promise.” he bids her goodbye, sparing his step-father but a glance as he pulls off.

sam’s had this conversation with her before. trying to ease her worries, trying to assure her that everything was okay. that everything would be okay. that his decision to move to seoul had nothing to do with finding out about his dad or her new husband. that his decision to move to Seoul and attend university here had been about other things. about discovering things he couldn’t find in california. about getting away from the drunk party life that swallowed all his cousins and almost swallowed him. about getting something new, something refreshing.

he just didn’t think he’d be so spot on about it.

the obvious choice had been seoul u. because of his father’s reputation and his mother’s job back in the states ( to which he had the courtesy to study whatever he wished ). a reputation that earned him a fair share of stares and whispers. but that was korea. whispers, stares, questions about family and fame.

that was also california.

here - at least the flannels weren’t an indication of social status, or instagram feeds. other things were but flannels typically weren’t.

they were the first thing he’d bought when he’d arrived. from some off the wall store where the girls giggled at his accent but also asked if he wanted to be shown around.

his mom had laughed at that one, saying he must’ve inherited his father’s looks and charm.

as sam soon realized that wasn’t all he inherited from his father. the flannel didn’t say money, but it didn’t say ‘i don’t want to be bothered’ and his father’s reputation began to follow him on his journey to find himself in seoul.

it began to follow him in clubs which were unsurprisingly old stomping grounds. clubs where the occasional camera and snapchat would follow him around. not excessively but enough to bring out annoyance in him he hadn’t thought could follow from the states.

it’s one night of running, maneuvering away from a rather persistent girl with rather invasive question that have sam forgetting his flannel in her hands and grabbing the first jacket left on the rack.

in hindsight - this was stealing. moving ahead - he began to commit to the look. leather jacket said money, but leather jacket and a few piercings ( fake or not ) and a neck tattoo did the trick. he planned on getting the tattoo anyway so it was simply a plus. the look on his mother’s face both after she saw it and after he told her the meaning behind it - kodak worthy.

that was summer in seoul before classes started.

when classes began - so did everything else.

the only difference between dealing with the vultures during the summer was that the students had some tact - some focus. minds less clouded and a little more to do with their time than gossip or question him.

for the most part.

the outfit helped and sam soon found it to be an aesthetic. it didn’t fit him exactly but it was simple, monochrome and quick to put together. he wasn’t one for colors and as far as comfortable clothes went, he could slip a turtleneck underneath if he felt inclined. needless to say the leather look kept up, just as the whispers did.

the stories came on their own. with any good college, any bustling college, the rumors were next. some stories that sam himself couldn’t recall if they were true or not. stories that only built up as the months began to drive by. as he began to tell his mother his own set of stories, as he reassured her day after day that she didn’t need to fly down there.

‘did you really slam someone’s head in mashed potatoes?’ “do we even have mashed potatoes here?”

ahyeon - the one person sam thinks makes this journey something worth dealing with. the spice in his otherwise routine college life. he’s managed to keep a low profile and has avoided parties since his first summer here. it’s been about three semesters and she’s one of his stable friends - if stable’s the word for the two of them. he’d asked her if she was trying to strip him naked in a room and she replied that she’d strip the skin off his body if he ever implied that again.

her boyfriend ( who was not in the room at the time ) had laughed.

“it sounds like something you’d do not me.” ahyeon makes a motion to deny it but it’s trapped with joon coming by, the boyfriend who isn’t the boyfriend. ‘i thought it was a bowl of kimchi rice?’ “now I know we have kimchi rice here.” is sam’s only response, watching ahyeon reach to shovel a quarter of his beef onto her plate and another spoonful of rice.

“......are you high?” ‘are you jealous?’

a snort. whether it comes from joon or him, he’s not too pressed. sam’s just glad he’s found something of a routine for the days to pass by with. he finishes morning classes, meets up with them for lunch and tries to be an art student for the second half. committing to the art studios gives him peace and quiet he couldn’t get anywhere else on campus.

apparently, today wasn’t such a day.

“no i’m not here to record.” is the first thing sam says when he steps up beside joon. joon who’s busy with a toothpick in his mouth, arms folded and looking entirely unimpressed with the situation. the situation being ahyeon, looking equally as impressed, if a little pissed out at the girl in front of her. the one who looks equally pissed off.

‘why the fuck would I care enough to throw kimchi on your designs. I don’t even know you.’ ‘i could care less about whether you know me or not. you left a note, because obviously you’re not intelligent enough to know to cover your tracks or that your boyfriend’s not that cute that i’d even give him the time of day.’ joon’s laughing and sam thinks he’s grown another head because nothing - nothing was funny about ahyeon looking like she’s about to swing. or the other girl. both were equally as troubling. ‘she’s got it all wrong if she thinks ahyeon would ever do something like that over me.’ but then ahyeon’s laughing too and sam thinks they’re both insane and perfect for each other. ‘you think - i’d sabotage your designs for talking to joon? talk to him I don’t care, free me.’ now sam’s laughing and it might be entirely inappropriate and the look the girl across from ahyeon gives him is all he needs to know.

‘something funny? these designs cost more than your future.’ probably. but sam doesn’t move. joon doesn’t move either.

the person who does move is coming from a bit behind them. a girl a bit shorter, dragging a man who’s much taller.

‘hanna you’ve got it wrong. the note isn’t signed ahyeon - it’s signed ah-neun. seriously you’d think your boyfriend tutoring would help but you apparently can’t read your own language now.’

the girl - hanna - does all but pale at the words boyfriend and the boyfriend who sam is assuming isn’t the boyfriend is just casually standing - looking halfway between amusement and disappointment. or both. sam doesn’t care - he’s worried about dragging ahyeon from this situation without her beating the life out his arm.

“hey ahyeon - let’s go.” he makes a motion to help joon tug her away when the shorter girl, the red-head with a smile so uncharacteristic for the situation, turns around to watch them.

‘sorry about hanna - she gets pretty heated about her designs. they were for her midterms.’ ‘don’t care. just tell her to find the one who did it and beat them - for her designs of course. and tell her boyfriend to tutor her better.’

that sets hanna off in a language sam understands too well and thankfully for both of them joon is tugging ahyeon away with promises of beef and hanna’s not-boyfriend is doing - something. something between soothing, scolding and laughing all in one.

‘thanks for the help.’ brighter-than-the-sun girl says. “didn’t do anything.” is all sam says before he’s following behind.

‘hanna just because they can’t understand you doesn’t mean you can curse!’

hanna’s got a colorful mouth is his first thought when he makes it to the studio.

he paints about more colorful things, and colorful hair in his remaining time.

‘he was cute.’ ‘no no and no.’ ‘you’ve got nerve ordering me around when you can’t read.’ ‘he’s got too much attached to his name, date someone off radar.’ ‘like you with minsoo?’ ‘like someone that i don’t have to fight girls who try to snatch the dye out your hair.’ ‘lucky for you i’m dyeing it again so it’s fine.’ ‘jay,’ ‘what’s so bad about him hanna?’ ‘nothing just - i can’t read him yet.’ ‘good, then let me.’

‘hey, once again really sorry hanna almost caused a fight.’

sam’s busy grabbing a few fruits to tide him over when jamie approaches him in the cafeteria. “okay.” is his response. simply because he’s not sure why she feels the need to apologize, why she even thought she need to. and to him of all people. joon’s the one who’s sad he couldn’t get anything to record. also because - it’s been a while since anyone’s approached him other than ahyeon who usually announces it with a fry launched at his neck. sam doesn’t say that though, instead he shoves the apple and sandwich into his bag.

‘you’re an art major?’ “you’re still here?”

with people like ahyeon and joon as his company, perhaps sam’s forgotten how to be less - candid? it’s also early and he hates being approached when it’s early. but she doesn’t seem to mind, in fact she smiles at that.

that’s new.

‘i don’t have class until another hour.’ “I have class now so - unless you need something?” ‘nothing.’ everything is big even if the words are small, her shrug, her smile.

sam’s walking away with the same thought. she’s still as bright as usual.

‘you’re here late.’ “lost track of time.”

which usually happens when sam’s in the studio, if he’s got a good idea and he’s just going about the canvas, he can stay at it for a while. his mom has often called him to wish him good luck and then called to say good night at the same time. he’s been scolded before but he can’t help it. sometimes he’ll leave and there are still others slaving in there, and sometimes like tonight, he’ll be caught late, paint still drying on his fingertips.

‘busy?’ “headed home.”

the curiosity that she has, he can’t quite match. but he does linger for a bit, he’s learned that she’s not always done when she starts, unless she makes it known.

‘bummer, i had a show tonight but maybe some other time?’ “maybe.”

he leaves without really knowing what she meant by show or really saying goodbye other than a bow of his head and slip of his helmet. she’s still bright, still smiling too, makes him think the night couldn’t really cover it that well.

‘oh - i thought you said you had inspiration?’

sam’s looking at the painting, concern something that isn’t usually on his face - showing today.

“i thought I did - i thought you said you were hanging with joon.” ‘he’s booked right now so i’m not going to bother him.’ “so you’re bothering me.” ‘if i was you would’ve told me.’

true.

also true about the inspiration thing. sam had it earlier, but it’s been fading as of late. fading and making him a little stressed. the inspiration was the main reason for coming here and while he’s been getting good grades on his assignments, he still isn’t feeling much from them. it’s why he’s a little antsy about being visited these days. ahyeon’s right though, if it was a bother she’d know. what he doesn’t know is what he needs to continue this painting. so he packs up again and they head out together.

‘staying late again?’ “thought I’d leave early.” ‘plans?’ ahyeon perks up at that. ‘please, i’ve been trapped in there all day.’ a different curiosity shines when the girl looks from sam to ahyeon, and someone sam knows he’s not getting out of this one.

the cafe is a short walk from the studio building. couldn’t be more than fifteen minutes off-campus, a place that isn’t too familiar, too flashy, or too big. it’s almost surprising that this is where she’s led them. it’s even more surprising when he sees the sign for the event. open mic night.

“you sing?” ‘you’ll see.’

and he does.

he watches, with the same confusion ahyeon has, as people go on and off the stage. he learns, very quickly, that it’s a different kind of open mic. it’s for poets. he’s even more surprised when he hears, kwon jamie, and she’s walking up on stage.

so that’s her name.

they leave that night with a little understanding, of who kwon jamie is. sam with an understanding of how she looks with fingers raised around her, snapping at her performance and stage lights zoned in on her face.

‘well. she was cute.’ “mhm.” ‘she was eyeing you.’ “uh-huh.” ‘sam.’ “hm?” ‘he’s in the zone.’

‘i’m scared to ask if you’ve been sleeping there.’ “almost, i remembered to come out.” ‘how long have you been in there?’ “what time is it?”

a serious question, that deserves a serious answer. all he gets is a look of bewilderment. one that ends with jamie dragging him to the nearest convenience store and pointing at the rather large display of ramyun. the only time sam does stop her, is when she’s pulling out her wallet to pay. sleep-deprived or not, he still has manners.

‘seven hours? painting.’

a nod, because he has a mouthful of noodles and steam rising over his cheeks.

‘are you insane?’ sam looks up, takes in the look on her face, one of fascination and general confusion before he swallows to answer. “you leave your studio the same time as me don’t you?” ‘okay but-’ “we’re both insane then.”

as time drags on, and sam downs two more bowls, jamie gets a glimpse of him sleep-deprived and a little loose-lipped. he gets a glimpse of her, under moonlight but also flickering convenience lights, her neck when she laughs so hard she throws her body back. the roots of her hair when she’s falling forward and he’s insisting it wasn’t that funny but is laughing as well. laughing and noticing things.

“you dyed your hair?” the laughter stops then, jamie composes herself, wipes a few tears before her arms cross. ‘you just noticed?’ and sam doesn’t have a response for that. not really. he just has thoughts, as always. except this time he lets them go. “i liked the orange but - the brown fits. it’s neutral but it lets everything else shine.” it’s uncharacteristic yes, and if he weren’t busy slurping the last bits of the noodles, he might have noticed the look she gives him. instead he’s careful not to get any on his clothes.

“it’s late, i’ll take you home alright?” ‘on the motorcycle-------’ “yes on the motorcycle.”

sam realizes that even if the brown isn’t as bright as the orange, the laughter she lets loose, perched careful and closely against his back as they ride, is just the same. just as satisfying even.

‘it was so much freaking fun.’ ‘i’m glad your motorcycle date didn’t end with you getting a tattoo on your ass.’ ‘hoho - you sound jealous.’ ‘she’s mad I won’t ride on one with her.’ ‘minsoo-yah, you have to indulge the woman.’ ‘that should’ve been with me, whisking you off into the heart of seoul.’ ‘heol, just be happy I had fun please.’ ‘i am happy.’ ‘and no background checks.’ ‘fine.’

‘how are things with the golden girl?’ ahyeon of course is quick to ask. “????” sam is of course, oblivious to everything that isn’t his food or coffee. ‘apparently people saw you give her a ride home last night.’ joon as always, is the translator. ‘and the night before that and the night before that.’

so it’s become a bit of a habit. that he won’t deny. even with ahyeon staring him down so suggestively that he wants to deny it, just to spite her. but it’s become a habit, and sam has no reason to lie about it. so he’s sliding the seat open for the male and regarding ahyeon with another look.

“i didn’t think you cared for gossip.” ‘i have become a fan because of hanna.’ “who?” sam is once again, out the loop. ‘the fashion student.’ joon is always in.

“why does anyone care if I drive her home?” it’s late, it’s not like he’s going to let her go by herself. sure he did it all those other times, but now he knows a bit about her. knows about how long and cold the bus ride to get home is. knows how she might carry protection on her but is still convinced she might not need to use it. knows how she prefers to grab ice cream from the convenience store and ends up staying even later out. sam knows now and does what he can.

that’s all.

‘people are wondering if you guys are dating.’ “people should mind their own business.”

sam’s hoped that for the while he’s started inching from the spotlight the students often like to throw him under - people would stop being so concerned with what he does. but he doesn’t see the problem here, whether he drove jamie home or not is his business. maybe it’s a little too early, and maybe he just needs to finish his coffee before he acts on this general annoyance.

“i’m going to the studio.” and for people who know him, they know that this time he just wants to go alone.

so they let him.

jamie is a different story. she’s only seen him thus far, loose and spent from working in the studio, a place he lets all the weight and frustration fall off in order to focus. when he walks in with such thoughts, he tends to get clogged up in his mind and isn’t productive at all.

‘now I really think you’re planning on sleeping here.’

sam’s on the floor, smudges of paint lining his jacket and dried on his fingertips. he only finger paints and splatters when he’s not feeling too inspired, likes to feel the consistency and really focus on what can come out of nothing, and how it feels to bring it about. abstract painting has it perks sometimes. he doesn’t say anything and yet he’s not surprised that it’s her.

“if i was?” ‘if you were?’ “planning on sleeping here.” despite the paint that’s chipping off his fingers, he slides his hands under his head, contemplating his thoughts. contemplating what he wants to say and how he should say it. contemplating that if he were to look up - would he be able to avoid her gaze. “guess someone else would have to drive you.” ‘guess we’d have a sleepover.’

and somehow, sam’s not surprised at all. when she takes a seat beside him. when she doesn’t stare at the tattoos lining his arms when his jacket’s off, and when she doesn’t deny the offer to sit atop it. he’s not surprised that he’s not bothered by the humming, or the occasional movement around him while he paints. not surprised that jamie’s sunshine seems to reach over all.

or when pieces of the canvas turn yellow.

‘what is it?’ he’s packing when she asks. “not sure yet.” he’s smiling when he answers.

smiling as she scowls his way, something different from the way people watch his movements, eyeing the tattoos and the piercings alike. something playful, like pink on her cheeks when they’re headed out to his bike. like wisps of her hair that flow past, and laughter that echoes each time he tells her to hold tight and they drive off. like a painting suddenly unfolding on it’s own.

sam doesn’t realize it at first. as the colors on the canvas start to change. as he pulls it out and shoves it back in corners, letting inspiration come every now and then. unconcerned about how it comes, when it comes, or the things that prompt it. unconcerned about how he’s starting to have a color for the little things she does. how she’s got a way of finding out about the little things he does.

how she’s managed to tackle his morning personality. how she’d laughed when he ignored everyone at the table and still sat beside him, coffee piping hot in her hand, and offered it without a word. how she’d known, how she’d been around enough to know, how she was simply okay with being around. sam too - more than okay.

more than okay with his corner of the studio smelling like the cinnamon hot chocolate she rarely comes over without. more than okay with spending time to grab one and have it waiting for her when she gets out of class. more than okay with knowing when she gets out that those late night drives home, happen whether they stay late in the studio or not.

they happen during the day too.

just as his arm happens to slink around her shoulders the first time as car zooms by, and starts to stay there. as people start to stare but his friends stop questioning. sam stops caring.

‘i think that’s the most color you’ve ever put on a canvas.’ “you think so?” his mom enjoys talking to him while he paints she’s one of the few who can. ‘i haven’t seen your work lately, but i’d say so. it looks nice.’ “i could paint a sunflower and you’d say it was genius.” she shrugs through the tiny screen of the video chat and sam smiles. considers painting her sunflowers and sending them back home. he knows her favorite flower though, it shines proudly on his neck each time he angles to get a look at the canvas in a better light. he enjoys the time with his mom, whether in silence or with headphones and the world blocked out.

‘sam you in here?’ he shoots a look to the door, to say ‘of course’ without saying anything, hand moving to cover the canvas in one swoop. jamie’s bounding in, iced mocha in her hand and he switches before she can give him the option to take it back. ‘were you on the phone, sorry.’ she’s approaching carefully having heard his mother’s who is that perk up from the speaker. “it’s my mom.” it’s still relatively early, so he takes the time to focus on drinking as much as he can of the coffee, knowing it might take a minute to effectively settle in the way he wants. he hasn’t decided if he’ll be here long, so he’ll stock up. he doesn’t notice jamie - who is caught in a conversation with his mother, both of them now staring at him.

‘you’d think he was 75% coffee and not water.’ “at least I don’t smell like cinnamon everyday.” ‘cinnamon chocolate and you’re the one who keeps buying it.’ “because you’re grumpy if you don’t have it.” ‘so are you!’ “great so what’s the problem.”

sam, whose been turning round and round in the easel stool, catches one glimpse of jamie’s face and has to keep twirling to prevent her from seeing his smile, lips around the coffee straw doing a good job of hiding it.

‘oh young love.’ jamie’s sputtering and sam’s laughing out loud now. “bye mom catch you later.” ‘bye, show me later!”

it’s quiet for a few moments after he hangs up. he’s packing up again but he’s mostly waiting for jamie to talk. whether she’ll mention his mom’s incessant need to embarrass him, or the pink that’s returned to her face, the whipped cream that’s still on her lips from her own drink. so sam decides to go first, snap her out of whatever thoughts have her a little too lost and out of characters. he leans forward, an attempt at wiping it off that jolts her well enough. jamie’s eyes are wide, clear, and ever as expressive. sam grins and halts his movements, close enough to reach and wipe.

close enough to -.

“you’ve got whipped cream there.”

close enough.

‘your - your mom said to show her later, is the painting done?’ she’s bouncing back, literally, bounding over to the covered canvas. she reaches to touch at the paper and sam takes her hand in his, eyes not leaving the other hand that’s packing everything else in his bag.

“not yet.”

it’s silent again. but jamie doesn’t move her hand, doesn’t say much. even when they make it out the studio and to his bike.

‘you’re not staying today.’ “you got plans?” ‘no just - hm people are staring.’

that’s when he takes the moment to look at their hands. and at the eyes that are still watching them, watching their hands more than sam fastening his helmet and his bag to the bike.

“do you care?” he asks her like he really needs to, like he doesn’t know. like he isn’t already fastening the helmet to her head and hopping on. jamie’s answer is her hands right back around his waist. ‘where are we going?’ “hold on tight.”

‘hanna thinks you’re a bad influence.’ “really? she should meet ahyeon.”

if by karma only, his tattoo artist runs the needle over a particularly tender spot.

“asshole.” is all he whispers to joon who laughs and continues. ‘sorry, gotta stick up for her.’ “for your girlfriend who’s not your girlfriend.” ‘yup.’

‘what’s the deal with that anyway?’ jamie perks up from where she’d been sitting quietly, close enough to where she can lean over and watch the next piece of his sleeve come to life. both sam and joon look over at her, joon for a second before he’s back to his work. ‘some people prefer it that way, without titles.’ ‘you think ahyeon prefers it that way?’ ‘i think if she preferred it otherwise she’d make it known.’ which, sam almost says at the same time as joon but joon’s quick and sam shuts up before he can finish. it’s the truth though, whatever it is between the two of them, ahyeon and joon, he’s long stopped questioning what it was. he can’t blame jamie for her curiosity, but he can’t blame joon for being defensive.

“ignore him, he’s ahyeon deprived and doesn’t know it, he’s been here all day.” ‘i wouldn’t be here now if you didn’t insist on getting this piece done on random.’ ‘what are you getting done?’ jamie’s back at it, this time leaning closer to sam than the tattoo. “i’m just extending the flowers on my neck to my chest.” ‘shitty date but at least you can see him shirtless.’ sam would whack joon for the comment but he knows better than to move. instead he sits back, huffing his annoyance through his nose. ‘she said she liked labels might as well call this what it is.’ “maybe i should call ahyeon since you seem to miss her so much.” instead joon’s eyes stay down, only lifting his other finger to flip sam the bird, to which he flips right back with a smile. for the moment, for several moments, jamie just watches. sometimes they don’t talk at all when he’s getting a piece done and sometimes all they do is talk. sam and joon both men of few words he’s worried a bit about jamie’s comfort level but she seems enthralled with the process, with the art itself.

‘do they all have meanings?’ she speaks up several minutes later. she’s hushed, the awe slipping into her tone. “some, not all.” ‘the ones sam designs tend to have meanings, the stuff for the fillers are mine.’ that launches them into conversations about which ones sam’s done and why. that leads them into discussions about art, about the differences in their styles, about how old the different tattoos are, stories of first ones and recent ones. the same comfort he slips in with joon, jamie slowly easing her way between them, their bickering and brash words and all. and sam knows, regardless of what he’ll label this as, he definitely likes it.

‘it’s me.’ “it is.”

he likes this too. the look on her face as she watches him put the finishing touches. as he outlines the crowd in some more grays and browns, as he adds layers to the figure that is her on the stage. he likes how easily she’s slipped into the studio and how boldly she approaches, how she can be so bold yet so bashful.

‘was this the open mic night.’ “the first one.” ‘you’ve been to more?!’

he had. once he realized where his inspiration was blossoming from. been to more than had her and some that didn’t. sat and soaked in it all, whether it was how she smiled as she spoke, how she pulled from her soul with every word, and how others did the same. the word for that was inspiration, awe, but it’s the urge past the canvas that let him know it was something more. something stuck closer to the heart. so he finally finished the painting without regrets, his image of her being a memory of much more than that night. a memory of all the times and all the colors she’s shared with him just far.

‘it’s-’ “not as good as the real deal probably.” sam’s turning again, in the easel stool, lips once again fastened around the straw of his coffee. he’d been up all night and called jamie in the minute it was finished. she’d made no objections but seemed to know he needed it as it was the first thing she handed when she walked in. “but that’s fine, i’m not too keen on letting everyone too close to the real deal.”

‘thought you weren’t into labels.’ “that depends entirely on you.” ‘what do you call this one?’ “she’s got it all.” ‘poetic, what’s she got?’

jamie’s drawing closer, sam hands now clasped around her wrist, pulling her as gently as she’ll come. smiling when her frame nudges against him, her eyes not leaving the painting.

“take a guess.”

she doesn’t move from the hold, slips her arms around his neck and lets his own slip around her waist. but jamie doesn’t move, her eyes still don’t leave the painting and sam stays quiet, lets her take it in. when she finally does look down at him, he sees in her eyes, the very thing that sparks inspiration in a starved man. the same eye smile that sparked what it did in his chest and makes him unable to let go.

‘she’s got - i’ve got - you?’ “all of, only if you want.” ‘took you long enough.’

‘still - don’t you think it’s a bit excessive?’

sam takes the moment to indulge jamie. as always. mid-sip of the coffee he’s been needing all morning barely getting to reach its destination. and he needed it - desperately. he pauses though, just for jamie. “what?” ‘the leather jacket, the piercings, tattoos?’ “it didn’t scare you did it?” ‘seriously - hanna thought you were in a biker gang.’

he takes the next few moments to think about that. not really - but he gives the impression well. the next few seconds are more so of him observing jamie, how she sits across from him, how her hands haven’t quite left his, how she doesn’t flinch when he leans over to plant a kiss on her cheek. how she deliberately leans in and gives him a glimpse of that pretty pink again. a color that not only fills his canvases now, but his thoughts.

“well, it’s a good thing I quit them early.” ‘sam.’ that earns her two more kisses and a rather hearty laugh. if this is what leather, piercings and tattoos get him, he’ll do well to keep it up for the rest of his days.

„Pidgeeee, I need a favour!” Lance ran towards his two best friends who just arrived on campus and threw his books on the ground. He rubbed his face against Pidge’s shoulder like a cat and made soft whining noises

“I’m not cutting my favorite lecture for you Lance.”

“But I have two free periods. TWO, Pidge! I’m gonna die of boredom. Do you really want to be responsible for that?” He gave them the best puppy eyes he could manage.

“Not my problem. You could always go back to sleep, it’s like 11:30. Or go read a book or something.” He gasped dramatically at the cold response from his friend and clasped his hand over his heart.

“You wound me!” He slouched his shoulders and let out a deep sigh. “Also I just finished the newest book from my favorite series. The next one doesn’t come out for two months.”

“Go study then.” Pidge’s voice was softer now. They knew that Lance really didn’t cope well with free time because it made his thoughts wander.

“Nah. Hunk is my study-buddy and you are stealing him so how am I supposed-“

“Pidge isn’t stealing me, Lance. We just have the same lecture,” Hunk interrupted him.

“… but Huuuunk-“

“I’m not cutting for you either.”

Lance groaned while Hunk patted his shoulder apologetically.

“Hmpf.”

“Dude, you know that we love you! But finals are just around the corner.” Hunk reminded him with a warm expression on his face.

“Yeah, yeah, I get it.”

They entered the university building and Pidge chugged their still half full coffee cup before tossing it over their shoulder into the nearby bin, without even having to look. They noticed that Lance was still bummed out, so they punched his arm lightly as an encouragement.

“Why don’t you go to Planet Altea? Say hi to Allura and Coran, or something.” Lance thought about it for a second before he scrunched his nose.

“I don’t want to go there alone. They already think I’m an antisocial stress eater with zero cooking skills.”

“You could go with Keith and maybe continue your talk.”

“I don’t know. Do you really think he wants to spend time with me… it’s been only a day.”

“Stop putting yourself down, of course he wants to. We’re talking soulmate here. Just text him, you big baby.” Pidge rolled their eyes and then giggled.

“Call me that again, tiny spawn of Satan.”

“Love you too, Lance,” Pidge said and smiled at him brightly before they turned around and entered the lecture hall.

“They are right, Lance. Ask him if he wants to grab lunch. You can do it.” Hunk squeezed his hand reassuringly before he followed Pidge. Lance stared after them for a while and fumbled with his hands. He finally let out a defeated sigh and took out his phone.

(11:45am): hey keith u free rn?

He stared at his phone screen nervously and chewed his lower lip. He had started walking around campus aimlessly without noticing. Some students were giving him confused glances but he managed to ignore them.

(11:46am): Yeah, what’s up?

(11:47am): got a free period :((

(11:47am): u wanna grab lunch near campus?

(11:48am): Hold on a sec

Lance cursed silently. This was a bad idea. Surely Keith thought that he was annoying now, maybe he should have waited a few more days. Damn. His entire future ruined because he was, as always, too eager. He was about to lie down on the ground in the middle of campus when his phone vibrated in his hand saved him from his self-destructive thoughts.

(11:55am): My bike’s in the shop rn but good news my brother said I could take his

(11:56am): okay cool. Planet Altea then?

(11:56am): wait are we talking motorcycle here??

(11:57am): Okay, I can be there in 15

(11:57am): And yes we are

Lance had to sit down on a bench next to him. So Keith wore leather jackets, had learned Spanish for him AND had a bike. He massaged the bridge of his nose and a soft ‘fuck’ escaped his lips. He was doomed, this boy was pulling him in way too fast.

(12:00pm): damn

(12:00pm): i mean nice

(12:00pm): verry nice

Lance handed Allura the menu back and smiled at her while she took Keith’s as well.

“Ah, wait.” The waitress turned around and came back to their table, raising her eyebrow at Lance.

“Do you take your tea like normal people do today or the way you always drink it?”

“My way, please and thank you.” He winked at her and then turned his attention back to Keith, who looked generally confused. “What exactly is your way?”

“Four and a half teaspoons sugar, one tablespoon honey and just a little bit of almond milk to top it off.”

Keith huffed in disgust and scrunched his nose. “Heathen.” Lance laughed and waved him off.

Planet Altea was like his second home since he spend most of his time there studying and eating, especially during finals. He was on a first name base with Allura and the strange but friendly cook Coran. They never judged him when he dragged his tired body in and ate quietly in his favorite corner, not even saying hello sometimes. They got it. One time he actually fell asleep over his half eaten pizza and when he woke up they had put a blanket on him. He loved the small restaurant and its space design.

The ceiling was painted with galaxies in various different colors and football sized planets were dangling from it. Lance was forever thankful to Coran and Allura that they had made an actual effort and arranged the planets in the correct order. In the corner next to the counter stood a creepy old astronaut statue that Lance had lovingly named Blumfump while pulling an especially bad all-nighter.

“So…” Keith started. “What is your subject at college?” Lance squirmed in his seat.

“At the risk of coming across as a giant nerd…Astronomy.”

“Really?” Keith quirked his eyebrows in surprise. Lance fumbled with the tablecloth.

“Yeah, I know it’s-“

“That’s cool!” Keith interrupted him and gave him a small smile.

“I uhhh… you think so?” Lance stammered, too distracted by how pretty Keith looked when he smiled.

“Yeah, I’ve always loved that kind of stuff. What do you wanna do with it when you’re done?”

“Ummm. It’s a bit of a cliché but I always wanted to work for NASA. I know it’s really hard to get in but I’m still gonna try.”

Keith nodded. “I mean … if you really really want it and you work hard for it, I don’t see why it shouldn’t work out.” He smiled sheepishly at Lance.

“Yeah, I guess…” Lance smiled back. “So, umm. What about you? What exactly is it you do?”

“I work at a workshop and we specialize in bikes. It’s Shiro’s but we basically run the thing together.”

“Shiro’s your brother, right?”

“Yes. Well, it’s sort of a long story I guess.”

Lance tilted his head questioningly. “Huh?”

“Shiro isn’t my biological brother. He kind of … took me in?” Keith tugged at his gloves nervously. “I wasn’t … it was like … things were-“

“You don’t have to finish that story, you can tell me another time.”

Lance smiled at him warmly. He reached out for Keith’s hands over the table and tried to stop him from fidgeting. Keith stared at their joined hands and blushed lightly. In that moment Allura walked over to serve them their drinks. When Lance noticed he quickly moved his hands away but couldn’t keep the blush from creeping onto his cheeks as well.

“Don’t let him trick you into trying this stuff, it’s nasty.” The waitress remarked and put down Lance’s tea in front of him.

“Don’t worry, I won’t.” Keith shook his head in disgust.

“So I don’t want to intrude but umm…back when we were sixteen, that umm…”

Keith nodded. “Yah. My parents. It was a car crash.”

“I’m sorry.”

Keith usually hated when people said that. Not that it would change anything. They just say it because it’s expected of them. They had no idea what it felt like, what they were even pretending to be sorry for. It was different with Lance though. If anyone understood it was him. It was him who had shared Keith’s pain on the day of the funeral and so many days after that. It was him who had comforted him at night.

“It’s okay. I mean…of course it’s not great but I’m doing better.”

Lance smiled at him. “I can tell.”

Keith just smiled back.

“What about you? There were so many birthday and wedding songs, you must have a big family.”

“Oh god, you have no idea. I’ve got a younger sister, two older sisters and an older brother. My brother is married and has three children so I also have two nephews and a niece. And don’t even get me started on the cousins. We would be sitting here for a week.”

“Sounds nice… and stressful?”

Lance smiled excitedly. “It is. I mean the house is always full and it’s always loud. I was so glad when I left for college because I finally had some peace and quiet and didn’t have to watch any of the little ones. But to be honest… I miss it so much.”

“You don’t get to see them often?” Keith tilted his head to the side and watched Lance closely.

“Once or twice a year. But we skype a lot. My youngest nephew is starting to walk and it’s honestly so adorable.” Keith couldn’t help but smile warmly. He could imagine Lance playing with his nephews and nieces perfectly. He was definitely the kind of guy who was good with children and who loved them as much as they loved him.

Allura returned to their table with their food. Lance suspected that she had waited until now because she had noticed that they were deep in conversation. She smiled at Lance and winked before she left the table.

Lance wished she hadn’t because he could feel warmth creep up his cheeks and wondered what shade of red exactly his face had turned. Allura obviously thought they were on a date. Well they sort of were, weren’t they? Lance knit his brow. What exactly was it they were having here? A meetup as friends or an actual date? Did Keith think it was a date? Oh god, what if he didn’t but he thought that Lance did? This wasn’t good. His thoughts were not going in a safe direction.

That’s when Allura turned on the music.

It was some kind of sappy romance song. Keith looked at him for a second before looking over to Allura who was very obviously smiling in his and Lance’s direction. To make things even more awkward she tried to give Lance a subtle thumbs up that Keith obviously saw. Lance wanted to die. His brain was on auto-pilot and when Keith looked at him again he just smiled at him awkwardly out of reflex. Keith returned the smile before looking to the side, obviously being uncomfortable.

That’s when Lance felt it. Fear. Followed by a sort of numbness and then a strong feeling of isolation. He felt like there were too many emotions boiling inside of him at once. Lance knew that none of these were his own emotions but it was confusing him greatly. It all happened in seconds but it was so intense that it gave Lance goosebumps.

He couldn’t understand what just happened. What had scared Keith so much? What had made him feel like running again? Because judging by the way he was eyeing the exit right now, Lance was pretty sure that that was all he was thinking about now.

He gestured for Allura to turn of the music immediately and she did after giving him a surprised look. Lance paused for a second. The song… A damn love song. Maybe this was going too fast for Keith’s liking. Or maybe… he wasn’t even interested in Lance in that way…

Lance swallowed hard. “Umm, listen…”

Keith turned his head and looked at him again. Lance couldn’t read anything on his face, he had closed himself off completely.

“I know there’s a lot of expectations and pressure and stuff with the whole soulmate thing-” It was almost not noticeable but by the way his jaw tensed, Lance was sure that Keith was clenching his teeth, “but that doesn’t have to mean anything, okay?”

This earned him a questioning look. “I mean… take my friend Pidge. They have this soulmate called Rover who’s really cool and all…but they’re both not really interested in dates and stuff… sooo, they’re just friends. I mean sure being soulmates equals having some sort of deep emotional bond but so does friendship, right? So, just… don’t sweat it okay? We… could just be friends too… No pressure.”

Keith searched his face for a moment before his jaw relaxed and he gave a small smile.

“Okay, yeah. Friends sounds good to me.”

Lance sighed relieved and returned the smile. “Okay, great. So friends it is?”

“For now.”

*uberhaxornova voice* alright helLO ( watch, no one else knows who that is ) it’s me caitlyn, and this is my baby that’s going to be replacing gabriella. i loved gabi, don’t get me wrong, but i was having a lot of trouble finding the muse for her. maybe it was because she was an older chara of mine, i’m not sure. all i do know is that this trash princess is the total opposite of her and im v exicted to plot with all of u. speaking of, like this if you wanna plot and i’ll hop into ur ims rEAl quick.. i did change her connections page up to fit teagan, so you can find those HERE. as always, there’s more info about her under the cut!!

BIOGRAPHY

was born in dublin, ireland and lived there until she was 17.

lsn ok teagan grew up... hella wealthy.. however, that money was not really made legally ??

her parents were a part of the irish mafia ( or irish mob, however u wanna phrase it ) and lets just say she didn’t have the most ‘normal’ life growing up bc of if.

even though her parents did that for a living, they tried to keep her and her older brother out of the loop as best as they could, making a life for their kids that was not a life like their own.

however, she knew there was something up at a very young age, there were far too many times where her parents were gone late at night for her not to catch onto their job positions.

but for the longest time, she just told herself they were doing whatever they needed to do to keep her and her brother safe and left it at that.

being the curious person she was, she ended up sneaking out of her first day of class ( i’m talking middle school here ) one day, tracking down her parents car and found a window that was open and listened to the entire conversation about how they needed to end an opposing gang that was treading too close to her parent’s teritorty. that’s when she found up they were much higher up in rank than she thought.

she kept quite about it for a while, dropping subtle hints here and there until her parents finally caught on. they weren’t even mad that she eavesdropped on their conversation, instead they sat her down at a very young age and explained everything they did and why they needed to do it.

not only that, they started training teagan as well, teaching her how to use various weapons, how to pick locks, how to get in and out of places unseen and everything else she would need to know to eventually take their place one day.

much to their surprise, teagan picked up on these things as easy as it was for her to breathe the air around them. she was a natural born criminal and that made them proud as can be. but she knew she wasn’t the only child they had, so she tarted asking questions.

after asking why her parents weren’t teaching these things to her brother, she found out that his life path was no hat of their parents. her brother had enlisted into the military and after getting shipped away for a while, came back to ireland and started training to become a cop.

for a while, she couldn’t understand it, wanted to know why her own brother would be on the side that could potentially lock their parents away for the rest of their lives.

but that didn’t matter, he wasn’t even an offical officer when she was pulled out of school only to be told their parents died in a crash. it was almost too much for her to deal with, but it also made it clear to her why her brother chose a different path.

she knew that crashes happened and for a year or so, she lived with that and just wrote it off as an accident. but what people didn’t know was that she’d become really, really good at hacking into people’s information, finding out that her parents weren’t just killed in the crash, they were murdered. the whole thing was a set up.. done by someone below them in ranks that didn’t like the fact they were in power.

this set teagan off, making her go into this downward spiral that even her brother couldn’t get her out of.

she went out partying at a young age, started doing drugs.. anything that would make her forget about her parents for a while.

not only did that happen though, she became more and more motivated to take over their legacy, bursting in on ofne of the mafia’s meetins only to punch the person responisble directly in the face. she thought it would get her killed, and there was a part of her that didn’t care. but it didn’t, in fact it not only scared the other mafia members, but it instilled a respect for her in them that she had gotten from her parents.

things were find for a while, she was 15 and living with her brother who tried to keep tabs on her as much as he could, but even theat didn’t help him when he had a con-artist of a sister who paid people to lie for her about her whereabouts and things like that, but he tried and that was enough for her because it showed that he loved her and cared.

but things changed once again when she turned 16, her own brother catching her trying to steal clothes from the store. needless to say, he was probably a little more harsh on her than he should have been given that it was his sister.. he put her in a cell for a good three weeks, probation after that and that was when she started to dislike him and his life choices.

I'm almost 20 years old, a full time student and do not have health insurance. When I was 16, my parents switched insurance companies, and for some reason or other they did not put me on their policy. So I have not had insurance for 3 years. In February I found out I was pregnant so I began applying for Medicaid. Before all the paperwork was done, I had miscarried and in the process racked up almost $6000 in medical bills. I went to the medicaid office and they told me that they would cover my bills even though I was no longer pregnant and college students don't qualify. After 2 months of waiting, Medicaid denied me and the hospital turned me into a collection agency. I was denied because I make too much money. I make $8.55 an hour and work about 15 hours a week. Yes I do make good money for a student but I have worked at the business for 3 1/2 years. Because I am not a full time employee, I don't qualify for insurance, but only managers and department heads are full time. I can't get a second job to help pay the costs because my first job wont work around another one, and I can't find a full time job because no where is hiring. I have now 2 insurance companies chasing me for money and treat me as a hunt because i had no third party property damage at the time of the accident .. My understanding was that the greenslip covers these things but actually they dont .. I have received bills from both companies.. 7000 AUD for the front car and 2000 for the middle car .. The details of repairs in the middle car ( that i hit on a very low speed) shows that damage at the rear of the car cost only 427 AUD and i offered them to pay it .. They refused and threatened me to go to court.. The police did not come at the place of the accident .. What do you think i should do?! How strong will be my situation at the court ?!
