sugar's struggle with her trans identity is as colorful and intricate as her fabulous wardrobe. ever since she was three, she knew she was a girl—there was no question about it! she wore the prettiest dresses, twirled with the grace of a princess, and expected everyone to treat her like the queen she knew she was. her parents were her biggest cheerleaders, always making sure she felt awesome and loved. but, oh boy, the world outside her glittery bubble wasn’t always so kind. sugar’s confidence sparkles, but behind that sparkle is way more fear than she’d like to admit. being trans in the world is a constant, scary thing—like a dark cloud that just won’t go away. before she transferred to mckinley, the bullying was so awful she had to leave. a fresh start, her parents told her. with the exception of her family, sebastian, spencer, and ryder, that part of her past is like a heavy purse filled with unwanted and super ugly memories. she hates having to explain what is "between her legs" and how she is just as much of a woman as anyone else every time she wants to be intimate with someone. pride week is hard for sugar because it feels like the choice to be proud was snatched away from her, leaving her with no option but to wear her pride like a shield. even with all this, sugar tries to keep her bubbly, confident self intact, dreaming of a day when everyone sees her just the way she always has: as the fabulous, undeniable girl she truly is.

it's pride and i don't want to be pride-phobic so i'm going to start with the queer icons (shawn mendes and harry styles will not be on this list, sorry but not sorry):

kc & max - orphans make me a kind of sad, so i'm really rooting for this couple. i hope max lets the poor boy call him daddy. 10/10

sebastian & blaine - i heard blaine is already planning their wedding. i wish for drag queens and neon lights. 8/10.

taylor & sugar - i believe in the power of manifesting. 7/10

spencer & david - i'm such a hopeless romantic and enemies to lovers is my fav fav fav romance trope. i want this so bad for timon and pumbaa. 6/10 though because well... karfosky.

quinn & keke - they're obviously together, but quinn is cray cray. i hope they can still co-parent their daughter. 3/10 if her therapist works overtime.

adrián & the entire hockey team - hot. but unstainable. happy orgies while it lasts though! 1/10

and now for the others. still adorable, but a bit straight for my taste:

puck & catrina - so easy. they're married and expecting puck jnr jnr. it doesn't get more solid than that. 10/10

jesse & rachel - does anyone believe they're just friends. do they believe it? i like it, they're weird cute. also i think they're probs the only people that would have one another. 7/10 because hens haven't stopped laying eggs.

ali & sam - they only got this high on the list because they're homecoming "royalty", but it's time for ali to remember her worth and kiss some girls. get a real blonde and a real cowgirl, baby. 4/10

kitty & ryder - i'm just so sad... kitty came out and started dating a man. plus, ryder should be with me. i want to lick him like a lollipop. 2/10

sam's never really questioned his sexuality—he's never had to. he knows his family's always gonna care more about who he's dating than what gender they are. up until recently, he's been into people who all identified as female, so it's been pretty straightforward. easy.

now, he's realized he's attracted to dudes too, and honestly, it doesn't bother him. he's just not into overthinking it or slapping a label on it because, frankly, it makes his head spin.

but if he had to think hard and choose one? it'd be pansexual.

it does make me laugh a little bit that stolas made this deal about the full moon, but once they were actually hooking up both he and blitz start blurring the lines of what that means almost immediately 😭

By the harvest moon festival (s1e5) they're already having sex outside of the "normal" schedule for the deal. And in truth seekers (s1e6) they're having sex because they want to, without even considering the full moon. Of course after Ozzie's, Stolas stops asking Blitz to hook up at all. When he finally reaches out again, Blitz is genuinely excited to hook up and plans for it the whole month (evidenced on his calendar) and then packs for the night with stolas all day in Full Moon

blitz really said the sex is too good and i'm catching feelings but it's for work rn so i can't really think about that :-)

i think in the past few weeks i finally overcame the long slow soul curshing burnout i fell into after writing my last two books and breaking up with a partner of over 10 years. lately i have been feeling ENERGIZED and excited by future projects rather than bitter and resentful about needing to do anything, and im more tolerant of stimulation rather than being so extremely stress averse that i cancel anything that requires much energy. my energy is feeding into itself now. perfect time to fuck it all up by writing another book.

kyle christopherson x week six pride week: regarding sexuality

kc never really had a 'coming out' moment, his bisexuality is simply something he's always been aware of, and because of his lack of family structure hasn't really run into a lot of opposition where his own sexuality is concerned. of course he's had to deal with some people at school who are not so enlightened, but he's always had a fend-for-oneself lifestyle and has never been one to run from a fight.

he really has no preference as far as gender, he just tends to lead towards more masculine energy in a partner, though he's been with girls before who have strong personalities and in turn are a more dominants presence - which is what he's ultimately drawn to.
