kdj starts narrating and, maybe im really weak to suggestion, but i don't think it's really possible to ignore how every two chapters he's like "yeah yjh is really awesome fr.", even when insulting him he's like "dumbass sunfish bastard... his willingess to sacrifice himself once more to save the people he's chosen to love has affected my life in ways i cannot describe. anyway." he gets thrown off a bridge and he's just "i knew he'd do that so it's like we shared a moment. yjh really is just as cool as in the novel :)". at some point reading the novel, i was almost like... well. can we also say good things about kdj or...? it almost feels like there's a little dissonance bc well. kdj has been doing cool things too why is yjh still being talked about as the universe most specialest little meow meow? (he is)

he does it with every character, really. Just... even if sometimes it FEELS like we have a lot of backstory for a character it's always "oh the novel". even yoo sangah is described in a very "here's what I've gathered about her" way. and all of that only changes when WE get to listen to the companions explaining themselves, and that only happens when kdj actually LISTENS.

and yjh is probably the last to get that. like. for the whole duration of the novel it's "omg yoo jonghyuk" and then you reach the last few chapters. and he gets agency. he gets to make choices that kdj doesn't pollute with his 'in the novel's. he gets to actually explain those choices to kdj. and it's suddenly omfg yoo jonghyuk.

it’s my birthday today, and most of my friends forgot, even the one i consider my best friend so i’m feeling a bit down, but i’ll be there this weekend to answer some asks and take my mind off everything!

being on Bluesky is very interesting...

a lot of tcesters/proship assholes have moved there and i get to watch in real time as i find people who interact with me here on tumblr, like my stuff, or follow me are intentionally disrespecting my boundaries.

my disappointment is... hard to express. mainly i'm just tired. like what did i do to deserve this, man.

it feeds into my paranoia that like half the people who like my stuff are genuinely horrible people who have not an ounce of respect for me or any adult who clearly states they don't like that crap and wants it as far away from them as possible.

there is some sort of really awful problem in fandom about not respecting others' boundaries, and it's truly revolting behavior. i catch people not respecting my tcest/proship boundaries, i catch kids lying about their age to get into my nsfw stuff, i catch tcest/proshippers in my discord server that is clearly marked as not for them... it's gotten worse and worse.

i just have to calm myself and remember that i have a lot of good friends in the fandom, and have faith that they would not betray my trust the way others do. and i have to continue having hope that a majority of my followers are not the sort to intentionally violate boundaries, that they are good people. that i give off a good energy that similarly good people vibe with.

idk. it sucks to find out these things. unfortunately i do way too frequently.

but you know what sounds exhausting and miserable, more than anything? living in a web of lies and feeling you have to sneak around all the time because you know deep down that you're doing something wrong. this may suck, but i'm so glad i don't live the way many of these miserable people do. get well soon.

thanks for making a popular show with a dedicated fanbase it really helped contribute to david zaslav’s $39million 2022 salary but also fuck you you get less than 4 hours of screentime to work with and you might not get renewed so you should use some of that to give your show an ending and who cares if it feels rushed bc they’ll watch it anyway and it’s not gonna stop our shareholders buying new properties this year

no nothing is gonna have 20+ episodes per season again and you can’t have time for a beach episode or a character pov episode or anything like that. no ‘filler’ just bare bones 8 episodes of plot and you have to speedrun your character development bc if you make the same stuff but quicker and cheaper and worse then we get more money see. also we don’t fucking pay our workers properly :)

i admit i was slightly worried about my wrist this winter since it (and the rest of my joints) always act up then - but so far as long as i don't draw when the wrist itself is cold (and take the forethought to bump the house temperature up before a multi-hour drawing spree), it's hanging in there. 30 min breaks when i feel a slight twinge is better than a forced 3 month break, lol.
