Help me decide what to write!
I'm ready to start writing again after the big bang and the holidays. I want to return to some of the wips I already have but... I have a few too many to choose from. So! I did this once last year but for each vote in the poll, I'll write for 10 minutes on the corresponding fic. More details about each wip below the poll
great teachers learn from their students: A holocron turns Obi-Wan and Anakin into their padawan-aged selves in the middle of a mission with Ahsoka and their troops. Snippet here
Suddenly a Sith- A holocron brings out the dark side in Obi-Wan but this version of Obi-Wan seems more interested in Anakin than in ruling the galaxy.
let your heart be light- Jedhi Night is the biggest holiday of Coruscant Temple's calendar. Jedi from all over the galaxy return home each year for singing and stories, celebrating the light on the darkest night of the year. Now that the war is over, this Jedhi Night promises to be the brightest in ages. But then why doesn't Anakin feel like celebrating?
my moon, my stars and my ocean- omegaverse RotS, Anakin and Obi-Wan spend one night together, giving in to temptation, a mistake. But then Anakin is pregnant and fighting a war with the knowledge that his Master, his alpha, does not want him.
Obidience- Ella Enchanted AU. Ever since Obi-Wan was a child, he has always done what he has been told. Obi-Wan and Anakin go on a journey to try to break Obi-Wan's curse and fall in love along the way. On tumblr here and here
only for you- omegaverse, alpha/alpha Anakin is perfectly happy being an alpha, thank you very much. But sometimes, he wishes he could belong to Obi-Wan. (Obi-Wan carries Anakin off of the battlefield one time and Anakin goes down a rabbit hole trying to bitch himself.)
the cure for everything is salt water- Aquamarine AU I have a snippet of this that I've been meaning to post to tumblr. It's partially inspired by Aquamarine and by a piece of merman Obi-Wan art by orientalld but basically... Luke and Leia have one month left before their dad's job forces them to move from their home in Florida to the other side of the world. A hurricane washes merman Obi-Wan Kenobi ashore into their pool who is desperate to explore human life on land. He wants to be the first merfolk to find peace with humans and within seconds of meeting the twins' father, he falls in love with one at first sight. And you know what they say... if you help a mermaid, you get a free wish.
the grass is always greener- the war is over. The galaxy is at peace. Anakin has a home with his wife and children. He has everything he ever wanted... right? So why does Anakin's treacherous heart feel like something is missing? Why, even now, does he still want more? The Force gives him a vision of what life could be like if he followed that hunger in his heart, placing him in the body of Darth Vader circa OWK show. He learns that power isn't what his heart was seeking but perhaps a purpose will make him whole again instead. Found on tumblr here and here

I really agree on your opinion of Vader being husk of human being. After losing Padme and doing everything basically for nothing, I had similar thoughts about him more depressed and going about his life on auto-pilot. It's a really sad thought and you can't help but feel for him. Though I would argue that he would have the occasional tantrum once in a while and destroy something when being reminded of his old life before going back into that husk-like state, but i think your interpretation would be the most impactful and makes the most sense.
I do however find some potential humour in it though, specifically in Obi-Wan's reaction upon hearing this when they're both Force-ghosts. With Obi-Wan not really knowing what Anakin well pre-Vader and his past experience dealing with Maul, he probably thought Anakin would become as unhinged as Maul when he turned. So after what happened on Mustafar, Obi-Wan probably thought Vader had spent years looking for him specifically given the situation, only to learn that he didn't even spare a thought about him. He was just doing his job and Obi-Wan doesn't really know what to make of it afterwards.
Anakin: What are you talking about? I barely every thought about you in the time I was Vader.
Obi-Wan: W-what? But, haven't you been looking for me for nearly two decade?
Anakin: I was looking for all remaining Jedi that opposed the Empire in that time. You were one of them so of course I did.
Obi-Wan: But weren't you looking all over the galaxy to get revenge on me? With happened on Mustafar, I thought you would've been more determined to find me.
Anakin: I mean...I thought about you, just not a lot.
Meanwhile Luke Ahsoka, and the other Jedi force ghosts listening in, looking uncomfortable as they side eye the other side of the room like : ._.
This and this is what the post (I assume) this reffers to.
Ah, yes of course! Like, don't get me wrong, he totally was petty enough to sometimes just want to inflict his own pain outwardly because whatever pain he might inflict on someone is still...a tiny itty fraction of the torture he goes through 24/7, and he would totally throw tantrums from time to time, particularly when he felt worse than the usual.
Also yes that's....hilarious adnljkfdskjnsdf. Obi-Wan out there like "BUT YOU TREAT ME LIKE A STRANGER AND IT FEELS SO ROUGH, NO YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO STOOP SO LOW" instead of Anakin, which what you usually see around it's extremelly funny and dumb I love it for them 😂😂
Luke intervening like "Obi-Wan, why are you so obssesed with my dad, let it go" the ultimate nail on the clownery coffin (and he's totally doing it on purpose because Luke can be a sassy bitch).
I NEED to draw that,,,but I'll make a separate post for it xDD

Hi! New follower here!
Would it be possible for you to just give a quick synopsis of your AUs to someone with little knowledge of any of them?
my AUs masterpost has clear-ish titles, but I get they're not THAT explanatory loll. anyway i'm assuming you're here for star wars bc most ppl are, so i'll stick to just them unless you want otherwise:
the fix-it au™
basically your average run of the mill "palps gets got/anakin doesnt turn + padme lives + everything's fine" au!! mostly abt the skywalker family loll
Bail Organa lives
what it says on the tin!! Bail was off-world (he got delayed on his way back from his Rogue One cameo) and so didn't get exploded on Alderaan
Sith Luke & Leia
Vader discovers the twins' existence when they're abt 9-10 and yoinks them both from their guardians (dw the larses and organas don't die) and trains them as Sith without Palpatine's knowledge
Organa twins
Pretty self explanatory, Bail takes both Luke and Leia at birth instead of splitting them up
Skywalkers Apart
Anakin doesn't turn but everything still goes to shit AU! Anakin and Padmé escape Coruscant when she gives birth but they realise the only way to keep them safe from Palpatine (who'd surely wanna yoink them) is each parent takes one twin
Rey Skywalker-Djarin
preeeetty much just my version of the sequels lolll -- au where Luke found Palpatine may've had an heir and managed to track Rey down to Jakku and then took her into the Jedi Academy <3 and then dadhood commenced (which also meant luke's bf/husband mand'alor din got a new child too loll)
Ahsoké AU
Ahsoka talks to Padmé after leaving the Jedi order instead of going out on her own and ends up joining Sabé

OH yeah it is unauthorized mailbag hour my dudes*
*unwillingly paid for by The Chommell Sector Daily
Tumblr media
@mal-is-tall @hey-its-starface Yeah…brandishing a lightsaber (even an unpowered one) at my uncle was not one of my sanest moments. But...uh...look on the bright side...no one got hurt??
Tumblr media
Oh, Force no! I’ve been at home. My home, I mean. On Naboo. As shocking as this may be to you, I’ve actually never been involuntarily hospitalized. I mean, they did hold me for a bit after I ran away from home that one time, but—not since then. (Jury's still out on whether this is a good or bad thing—just kidding—maybe)
It...actually doesn't seem like Luke's told anyone what happened. He definitely hasn't told my mom. Because if he had told my mom—well, I would've found out pretty quickly.
I don't know why Luke hasn't told anyone. Maybe he feels bad for me. Maybe he doesn't actually believe I'm a threat (is that better or worse than my mom seeming to fear l am?).
Or, maybe, it's a strategic play. And Luke's just trying to keep this in his back pocket for as long as possible, so he can lay down his sabacc card at just the right moment. That's what Snoke thinks, anyway. Not that I give a womprat's tail what Snoke thinks—but, it's a thought, isn't it?
I did apologize to Luke for...for holding out the saber like that. I know that was pretty uncool of me.
But...l also told him I never want to speak to him again. Which is kind of a shame, because before all of this happened, I was actually getting to the point of maybe wanting to tell him I was having dreams about Snoke—but oh well never mind I guess!!!
Tumblr media
@baconbirdie Ha. Yeah. I agree.
Snoke had warned me that the Jedi have a narrow-minded way of looking at things. That, if there was a choice to be made, between me and—and, like, the light side or whatever—that Luke would choose the Force over me. That Fannie would, too, as Luke has instructed her to. And I ignored him, because I figured he was just trying to psych me out, like usual, but…well, I’ll be paying a little more attention in the future.
I’m not saying that that makes Snoke right about everything. But…I think it does make him right about some things. I’m a little more open to hearing to what he has to say, is what I’m saying.
Don’t freak out. I haven’t forgotten what Snoke did to me. I still hate him for that. But, you know what they say. Even a stuck chronometer is right twice a day.
...Yeah. I can't pretend anymore that this isn't happening. Maybe, if I had continued meditating consistently like Luke taught me to do, Snoke wouldn’t have been able to start reaching me again…
...Well, I can't pretend to myself anymore, I mean. But I'll pretend to my family all day!!
Tumblr media
You fought in the Clone Wars? Wow, you must be, like—seventy-something years old! Wait, you know how to use the HoloNet??
Sorry that was rude—
Anakin... I don't ever think about Anakin Skywalker much. My mom raised me to see Bail Organa as my grandfather. She hates her birth father, in a way that makes me worry—in my darkest moments—that she might secretly hate me too.
I know a lot about Darth Vader. Darth Vader was my hyperfixation between the ages of twelve to sixteen. But...I know very little about Anakin. Well—nobody knows very much about Anakin. Most of the holorecords on him seem to have been wiped. He almost...doesn't seem real.
...You think he would have been proud of me?
...Well. That'd make someone, I guess.
Tumblr media
Uuurgghh I don't wanna go back to therapy! I already did therapy!! I graduated from therapy!!! (Yes I know that's not how that works I'm just kidding)
...I guess you're right, though. I've just...been trying not to think about everything for the past week, and I know that can only get me so far.
And maybe you're right about...about anger. I do struggle with that. I mean, that's no secret or surprise to anyone. I just...feel kinda scared a lot of the time, and…I'd so much rather be mad than scared.
And you're right about not basing your self-worth on others. I may have been avoiding thinking about my problems this past week, but I did decide on one thing—I'm not the freaking problem, Luke is, and someone needs to tell Fannie she doesn't need to let him decide how she wants to live her life. Especially if the way she wants to live her life is with me.
Tumblr media
@bookishbrigitta
Auntie Malla? Oh, for kriff's sake! You just want me to look like a total idiot for not having practiced my Shyriiwook in like, seven years—buddy, I'm tellin' ya, she will have my hide—it’s tragic, really; Chewie doesn’t know this, but ever since I left home I’ve been relying more and more on body language and context clues and my dad’s half of the conversation to understand what they’re talking about—it’s so bad—
But...actually? I don't think I've ever flown out to Kashyyyk on my own before. I've been there since I moved out, yeah, for Life Day and stuff—but, always with my family.
And...always with Uncle Luke. But now that I've decided I'm never speaking to Luke ever again…well, who knows where I'll be this Life Day.
...Yeah. Maybe I'll plan a little trip.
…Welp. Time to redownload Duro’lingo and start up my Shyriiwook streak.

Do you think Ahsoka may have been a bad influence on Luke? This was a thought came to my mine a while ago.
When they first met, Luke was trying to rebuild the Jedi Order, while Ahsoka still harbored resentment toward the Order. Could she have been the reason for Luke's coldness toward Grogu and his disillusionment with the Jedi Order during the sequels? She might have given him a warped retelling of what the Jedi Order was like. Perhaps she told him that Jedi are not supposed to show concern for younglings or Padawans. She may have also emphasized her belief that the Jedi were at fault for Anakin's fall and becoming Vader.
There are definitely more factors that led to Luke disillusionment but she had a roll in that and we didn't even notice.
To begin with, I don't think Luke was cold to Grogu at all. I think he was FIRM, perhaps, and HONEST about the choices available to him and the consequences of each choice, but that doesn't make him cold. It was a serious conversation and a serious choice that would define years of Grogu's life, so I think Luke treated it with the gravitas it needed. Luke's conversation with Grogu was, to me, not truly any colder than the Council's conversation with Anakin in TPM. He's speaking from much the same place. He's seeing that Grogu isn't committed to being a Jedi right now, that he reacts to seeing Din's ship, and so he makes the choices that Grogu has very clear. And those choices have ALWAYS BEEN THERE, it's not like Luke is forcing this choice on Grogu out of nowhere, or creating a situation where Grogu HAS to choose, because Grogu is making that choice every single day that he is with Luke, he made it on Gideon's cruiser when he first left and has made every day since. Luke brings it up again because he thinks Grogu might need some clarity and guidance about the paths available to him and what they will ask of him.
(The caveat I will give here is that the whole choice to have Grogu be upset with the Jedi way of life and leave it behind to be a Mando was done exclusively because they wanted to keep the show going and couldn't do it without him, rather than because they felt like it was the right choice for his character, so it feels rushed and shoehorned in for no real reason because, well, it WAS. The other thing that might be making it feel "cold" to you is the whole deepfake AI aspect of Luke in these scenes. The deepfaked face and AI voice weren't capable of giving the warmth that a real actor would've been more able to get across. You can see a few behind the scenes featurettes where Mark Hamill was doing some of the lines in costume and there's so much more emotion in his delivery than in the final product. So while it may not have been intended to come across as cold, I would be willing to accept that it still DID come across as cold because of the lack of emotion in the CGI performance.)
So, with that being said, I'll try to answer your actual question.
The short is: no. For one, I barely consider the Sequel trilogy and the Mandoverse part of my personal canon at this point, I don't see a lot of redeeming qualities in either of them, I don't think the characterization in them for the pre-established characters makes any sense and often directly contradicts what we know of them already, so I just ignore it. So, two, is that because of that opinion on the Sequels, I personally believe Sequels Luke is just... not Luke at all. This isn't how Luke would have ever reacted to ANYTHING, none of his actions and choices make any sense, and I don't personally believe that there is any headcanon that would ever make me believe that it makes sense.
The longer answer is that I just don't think that makes sense for Ahsoka, either, even though the Mandoverse version of her is particularly Jedi critical. HOWEVER, she is MOSTLY critical of the Jedi in the specific context of "training Sabine." She's not really ever critical of the Jedi when we see her with Grogu during The Mandalorian and is actually relatively warm towards him initially as a fellow Order 66/Purge survivor. And nothing she says to either Din or Luke in her appearance in TBOBF was critical of the Jedi, either. And if we move away from the Mandoverse, then none of her other depictions of her post Wrong Jedi show her being critical of the Jedi Order to OTHER PEOPLE. She's rude to OBI-WAN, she's a little short with Mace, but I don't recall her saying anything critical of the Jedi when speaking with Trace and Rafa or Bo-Katan, even when Trace and Rafa were talking about their bad experiences with the Jedi and their more negative opinions, I think Ahsoka actually DEFENDED them a little. And in Rebels, she's really warm towards Kanan and Ezra, has no issue being considered a Jedi along with them, and acknowledges that the Jedi had considered protecting Force Sensitive children to be their responsibility and happily agrees to take up that responsibility along with Kanan.
So you can make a really strong argument that Ahsoka's behavior in the Ahsoka show, her critical commentary about the Jedi, isn't super in character even for her. You can also make a fairly strong argument that this behavior only comes out in certain contexts, so even if it IS "in character," it wouldn't necessarily be something she'd say to LUKE.
If Luke asked her things like "What was it like, growing up as a Jedi?" or "Can you tell me what the other Jedi were like?" or anything along those lines, I think she'd actually give a pretty positive answer. I don't think she'd really feel the need for criticism here, nor would she even WANT to bring it up. I don't think that Luke himself or the questions he might ask of her would make those more negative feelings come forward. Of course, it's always possible if he manages to figure out that she left the Jedi that he could ask about that and that this could cause her to start having more negative feelings that impacted her answers to questions, but I think that IN GENERAL, she'd have nice things to say still. The Jedi were her family, they were GOOD PEOPLE, she loved growing up as a Jedi, she had so many friends that she loved, so many people she still mourns. I personally believe that the Ahsoka we saw in Rebels and even the Ahsoka we saw in The Mandalorian would choose to only remember the positive things when speaking to someone else about them. Her pain is hers and it doesn't even truly MATTER anymore.
But when training Sabine, she's faced with the question of what to KEEP from her own training and what she wants to discard. Her pain matters more now because it will impact what she chooses to pass on to a student who claims to want to be a Jedi. And of course there's always The Anakin Of It All bringing in even more complicated messy feelings, too. So I'd kind-of be willing to buy that, even if she usually only ever has kind things to say when speaking to other people, that the situation with Sabine would bring out her most critical opinions.
(Of course, I genuinely hate the Ahsoka show with the power of a thousand burning suns, I think that Jedi Sabine is one of the stupidest choices I have ever seen in a Star Wars show which is saying a LOT, and so I don't want ANY OF IT anywhere near my own canon, regardless of whether I can make it make sense with Ahsoka's characterization or not. I just don't like it, and I think every single character involved deserved far better than the absolute dumpster fire that was that show.)
Which still brings us back to the answer of: No. Luke's fucked up behavior in the Sequel trilogy cannot be blamed on Ahsoka, not even in a headcanon for me. This is one of those places where I refuse to try to headcanon away the issues and place the blame squarely on bad writing. This is too big of an issue to headcanon away and there's not enough redeeming quality in the stuff around it to try. It's a lot easier and more satisfying to me to just acknowledge that Luke is OOC as all get out in the Sequels and leave it at that. Both Luke AND Ahsoka deserve better than this headcanon.

Tumblr media
Hellooo! I'm genuinely super excited to finally start up my blog! I've been wanting to do it for a while now but I've been too scared to actually commit to this account. Thank you to anyone who's reading this right now, I really appreciate you taking the time to actually read this <3
So, before I start writing anything, I wanted to set up some boundaries since there are a few things that make me uncomfortable.
1. A major part of my content is nsfw (18+) so with all due respect, if you're a minor, please leave. I know I can't stop you from viewing my posts but if you interact with any of them, I'm sorry but I will have to block you.
2. Writing ships is something that I've always found super hard to do since I can't seem to find ideas or be creative while writing them, but, I'm not entirely closed to the idea of writing Anidala one-shots, blurbs, headcanons etc. I will mostly write Anakin Skywalker x Reader or Darth Vader x Reader. However, I accept requests for some other characters like :
Obi Wan Kenobi
Luke Skywalker
Han Solo
Poe Dameron
Leia Organa
Padmé Amidala
3. I'll try my best to write a lot of gender-neutral stuff. However, I can't lie, the chances of me writing MxM content are very low. I just don't know how it works and I'm really sorry if I disappointed any of you guys but I can't write about something I genuinely know nothing about as I'm sure it won't be accurate. I really don't want to mess up and offend anyone, once again, I'm really sorry.
4. I'm okay with writing a lot of kinks and tropes such as :
BDSM
Breath Play
Knife Play
Enemies to Lovers
Size Kink
Corruption Kink
Age Gaps (only if characters are consenting adults)
Blood Play
Anal
Breeding Kink
Infidelity Kink
And much more but I'm too lazy to write them all down. However, Kinks/Tropes/Ships I will NOT write about under any circumstances are :
Rape
Suicide
Self-Harm
Piss/Scat
AniSoka (If you request it, I'm blocking you.)
ObiKin
Age Play (There is a huge difference between Age Gaps and Age Play. I am totally fine with Age Gaps but I will not romanticize infantilism.)
Pedophilia (If you request this, I'm blocking and reporting you.)
Any non-human characters from the SW universe
OmegaVerse
5. Finally, I absolutely love writing but I can't say that I'll answer your requests quickly, especially since I'm really busy with college. However, I promise that I won't take too long, 7 days max. Anyway, I hope you guys like my content, have a good day/night ! <3

My portrait of Darth Vader - Star Wars - Tribute to James Earl Jones
This is my first time drawing Darth Vader now and I drew this in a hurry so I apologize that it turned out a bit bad, especially around his mask, I drew this within 30 minutes otherwise definitely one of my Star Wars characters and my favorite villain , who admittedly used to be a tragic hero until he went to the dark side. Yes, I drew this in honor of one of my favorite actors named James Earl Jones who sadly left this world 10 days ago.
James Earl Jones was born in 1931 and was one of the best actors of all time. He played many characters, but he is most famous for Darth Vader, who starred in most of the Star Wars movies, as well as for his role as Mufasa, Simba's father, in The Lion King from 1994. He also played Maggie Simpson in the Simpsons series. He also acted in various theater plays and was awarded many prizes, especially the Oscar. He died on September 9, 2024.
Darth Vader (Sith Lord) was actually Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight until he went to the dark side of the Force under the influence of Palpatine. When he was about to kill his son Luke Skywalker, Darth turned against Palpatine and defeated him, but lost his life. Certainly one of my favorite characters, who had a tragic fate. Certainly a big thanks to James Earl Jones who played him. Peace to his soul and eternal glory to him! Amen.
Yeah, Darth Vader didn't turn out well, so next time I draw him, I'll draw him in a better Star Wars style. Certainly this is in honor of the actor who played Darth Vader.
Then there is a meme in honor of that actor. Many thanks to him for everything!

I was 17 when The Phantom Menace came out and was miffed by the Jedi’s reaction to Anakin because he missed his mother and was rightfully concerned her about her. In Attack of the Clones he’s a young adult who is having nightmares about her and as we follow along we learn that she met and a man and was freed. So why in the years she was free have the two not talked? She knew where he was. Then she dies and lastly we have Revenge of the Sith where he’s worried about his wife and child dying.
Now I did not then or now take Anakin as being greedy for wanting his loved ones to be safe. The Jedi come off as a closed off body considering they start training children at such a young age that they don’t know their families and they forbid contact or their members from loving someone. Attack of the Clones is a forbidden love story.
So for me the story is a family getting caught up in a religious war and it having dire consequences for them. Anakin was saved when Luke went against his teachers and tried to save his father proving beyond any doubt the Jedi were wrong.
Yoda even thinks the Jedi need to change at the end of the Revenge of the Sith novel.
(You're covering a lot of subjects, I won't go into detail on any of them because I already commented on them, I'll just link my other posts, you can click to see what backs up my argument or just take my word for it.)
I think you're free to have your own headcanon and/or interpretation of the films.
Fact remains though: you were 17 and the Prequels were made for 8 to 12-year olds.
Maybe it's because I saw it in Italian, maybe it's because I was like 5 or 6, but my takeaway of the Yoda telling Anakin that "fear is a path to the Dark Side"... was just that. That fear is a path to the Dark Side. I took it the same way others took the "do or do not" scene in ESB. Yoda didn't come across as particularly mean, and clearly isn't meant to come across that way either.
"[Shmi] met and a man and was freed. So why in the years she was free have the two not talked? She knew where he was. [The Jedi] forbid contact or their members from loving someone."
I never saw anyone outright forbid Anakin from seeing Shmi, in the movies. If we go by Canon, Dooku met his father and wasn't expelled, and in Legends, Adi Gallia speaks of her parents with reverence, as if she knew them.
Why have Anakin and Shmi not talked? Because Shmi is living with a farmer, she's made a new life for herself, and even if she wanted to, it'd be trying to get from Tatooine to the capital of the galaxy on a farmer's budget.
"Attack of the Clones is a forbidden love story."
Yes... but not exactly.
Love itself isn't forbidden. Love over duty is forbidden. It's not about not being allowed to be in a relationship, it's about being fully committed to whatever relationship you choose. In Anakin's case, he needs to choose between the Order and Padmé, and half-asses his commitment to both.
"Yoda even thinks the Jedi need to change at the end of the Revenge of the Sith novel."
Yeah... but not in the way you think.
The whole passage of that novel goes into how the Jedi were beaten because the Sith shifted the battlefield by going into politics, which the Jedi had no experience against. The Jedi were expecting an actual fight, instead they got checkmated by the very thing they were upholding.
The moral of that passage isn't "the Jedi were flawed because they didn't allow people to see their parents or because they didn't allow people to love" it's "had the Jedi been less politically-inept, they wouldn't have been blindsided."
"So for me the story is a family getting caught up in a religious war and it having dire consequences for them. Anakin was saved when Luke went against his teachers and tried to save his father proving beyond any doubt the Jedi were wrong."
Again: this is cool. More power to you.
But it's not the intended narrative.
Sure, Luke is proving them wrong in the sense that they thought Vader would never willingly come back to the Light - but even then, look how beat up Vader needs to be before he does.
Tumblr media
But at the end of the day, Ben hopes that Luke is right.
He hopes that Vader can become Anakin again. It's just that he's painfully aware that the chances of that happening are very meager, and what's much more likely is that Luke will die instead or worse, fall to the Dark Side. Which almost happens. Again, love vs duty.
Luke isn't proving Ben wrong by rejecting the temptation of the Dark Side and sparing his father, a defenseless foe, because, just this once... his duty is to choose love, it's to show compassion.
He's just... being a Jedi. That's standard Jedi stuff.
And Jedi are awesome.

Do you have any Star Wars fic recs (with or without OCs, canon or AU, any ship)?
I do!! My AO3 bookmarks are a good place to look, but I'll just hit a few of the highlights (my 10 favorites, though these fics are listed in no particular order):
dreamless nights by @ahsokryze is an amazing Anakin & Ahsoka fic 🥹 so soft and wonderful. Captures the big-brother/little-sister dynamic so so well
bound by the things we choose ‘verse by @nspx is so wonderful!! It tackles such relationships as Leia & Vader, Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan, and Mara & Vader (love that third fic fr)
the skywalker palindrome by @cringewerewolf is the coolest take on time travel EVER 💞 the series page explains it better than I could, but I will say that it’s Anakin and Luke centric.
hendiadys for a dream by @ozvezdja is THE Anidala fic series of all time (especially now i want my letters white again)!! Like omg…bees, you GET IT!! You get them!! Sola’s POV for that first fic is INSPIRED 💞 I am OBSESSED, please go read this fic if you’re even lukewarm towards Anidala
Frozen in Time by @fanfictasia is some of the most heartwrenching Luke & Vader angst I’ve ever read (while also being short, which is an impressive feat). I just…Vader having visits with Luke supervised by Palpatine?? Luke being periodically frozen in carbonite?? THE TRAGEDY OF IT ALL
The Tatooine Cycle by @fialleril, because I’d be remiss to exclude them from a SW rec list—their fics are a must-read, their worldbuilding of Tatooine is absolutely amazing 💞
Misunderstandings by Livsy, which tackles Anakin’s oft-neglected (in fandom) slave background!
All The Right Reasons by bethagain is such a sweetly heartwrenching look at Luke & Ben (Solo, not Skywalker), how quickly Luke bonds with his nephew…and how he hesitates at first to train Ben because (“I can’t see through…how much I love him”) 🥺 I just. I can’t. I am MELTING, this is so emotional (and it was written pre-TLJ! A nice bonus for me, as someone who hates how their relationship was handled in that movie)
The King’s Gambit by @elli-incarnate…oh it’s a masterclass. The epitome of Sith Luke fics, and absolutely beautiful to read. Every sentence is written with so much care, Luke/Mara is written wonderfully, and I just…I love it so much. So, so very much 💞 it’s Legends-leaning, but tbh it can be enjoyed without knowing Legends
Enter the Foreign by Viari is for absolutely anyone who loves time-travel fics…especially ones featuring Anakin! You don’t need to be terribly familiar with Legends, though it helps (I’m somewhat familiar, but not totally, and this was accessible to me). The spin-off AUs are such a delight too (and an inspiration for me to write my own 😅), and it’s just so much fun and so clearly a labor of love, and such a sprawling, intricate AU. I can’t recommend it enough.
Adding an 11th because why not:
The Sun in the Storm by @basimibnishaqs is such an adorable Rey-is-Luke’s-daughter fic 🥹 she’s an adorable sweetheart, and Luke is her protective dad, what more could you want?? (Also OP has galaxy-brained takes about Rey & Luke so…you know. There’s that too)

Me: Ok so if SW!Ashe is basically Han Solo then that means SW!Cassidy is basically Leia! If that's also the case then then that means Pharah would be Luke, but I'll have to change that a bit to match with what their characters would be like.....I guess Ana would be Cassidy's adoptive mother and probably the queen of a planet? I can work with- My brain: Would Vader be a good fit? Me: I don't know, isn't technically Reaper a better fit? My brain: Aesthetically yes, but remember that Anakin turned evil to save his loved ones? Me: ....God fucking damn it. My brain: See! It fits!!

Did you have any foreknowledge that Anakin would become Darth Vader? I feel like even if you had Revenge of the Sith must have been quite an experience
Lmao I didn't know that until I came across this gif here in tumblr:
Tumblr media
'oh damn'
That said, because of that gif, I did know he was going to be one of the most iconic and recognizeable villains of cinema by the time I started to watch the movies. But, my knowledge of what would happen was very, very narrow, I was very in the dark about it lol
Is easier to point out the things that I knew when starting the movies than the ones I didn't:
-He would lose his limbs (I did not know how, I didn't know he literally burned. And I only knew that he loses his limbs because my partner )
-He kills kids (and that I knew just because a meme that my hubby had to explain to me, but I didn't know the circumstances. In fact, what I pictured was much worse LOL)
-He kills(? Padmé (I asked my hubby if he and Padmé divorced, and he just decided to throw that spoiler at me like "no, he kills her accidentally" without further context and I was like...oh woah okay...I...generally don't like villains that kill their wives but i'll still check that out)
-Samuel L. Jackson is in these movies! :D
-HE IS LUKE'S FATHER OMG OMG AND IS TWINS OMG LEIA?? ...Wait don't Leia and Luke kiss- Oh okay
And sufficient to say: ROTS still destroyed me emotionally, what a trip. But I had a blast watching these movies, and it was also a blast watching the Original Trilogy after that! I was so, so stunned about the end of ROTJ, because seriously I always thought Luke kills Vader even when my interest on SW was below zero.
And no, I still don't know how at 24 i managed to know so little about Star Wars SJNKJNSDF
What I thought would happen in these movies was that my guy here was going to be just this cool merciless villain from about the get-go and we would just met him as an adult already. Like, he would be this dark jedi working by himself ruining the order from the inside, going into murders on weekends and blame someone else for fun, the war would be his doing, and being creepy towards everyone included his wife was probably his hobby, idk, you get it, your basic 'cool lonely villain', like maybe a Sauron of sorts.
And then George Lucas tackled me with... this

Hey, I'm not complaining.
My hiperfixation on Anakin and Star Wars helped me a lot with my depression, truth be told!

11, 12, 18 for the choose violence asks? (for the fandom of your choice 👀)
I'll choose Star Wars since that's where we both tend to reside. 💖 11. number of fandom-related words you’ve filtered I haven't filtered any fandom-related terms! Part of this is straight up laziness, but part of it is that I use it as a reminder to keep myself from absolutely having to purge any mention of a thing I don't like, to keep me in the practice of learning to scroll. (I have filtered out some AO3 terms with AO3dar, like position preferences or certain tropes I don't like, because I want to go faster when I'm looking for fic.) 12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them REVA SEVANDER. While I'm lucky to have gotten in with a group of people who enjoy her character, I do wish more of mainstream fandom had come to love her the way I do, both as a character with her own motivations, but also a character in the theme of characters who provide absolutely stellar foils to Anakin Skywalker's character. They're both full of so much pain and want to carve away the parts of themselves that were once Jedi so that they can immerse themselves fully in the dark side, but they diverge in that Reva can't bring herself to kill an innocent child, not even to get revenge on Vader, she can't kill Luke Skywalker to hurt Anakin Skywalker, even though he killed her family, her friends, when they were children, just ooouuggghhhh that hurt to watch. Also, I fully believe with my BODY AND SOUL that she should have been Obi-Wan's second Padawan. 18. it’s absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on… HOW THE FORCE WORKS and how that influences the worldbuilding, that it's not just a mystical energy field that you can tap into whenever you want--it has rules and laws to how it works. The Force is based on the emotions you feel when you connect to it, that the Force responds to the feelings in your heart, that if you're angry, you get that flung back in your face--how does that influence a culture that lives so deeply in tune with the Force? If you can feel the anger soaking into the walls through the Force, how does that change your behaviors (so you're not leaving more anger in the walls and floors around you) and how you train your children, so they have the tools to deal with that? How does it affect which places you go to, like do Jedi avoid medbays because they're full of the suffering of sick and wounded people and that's an assault on their minds, when they're sick and wounded, too? I want so much Lucas-philosophy-based Force explorationnnnnnn.

Tbh I didn't quite understand your posts about the biggest argument in Anakin's is not about being failed by everyone rather than giving into your worst impulses.
I also feel like I need you to elaborate on your question, but I'll give it a shot.
I think one of the major schisms of the star wars fandom is in the nature of anakin's story. Is he a cautionary tale to the boys or their parents? Did the jedi fail him or did he fail them? Is his tragedy that of a world creating a monster or of an individual making the wrong choice? Was destroying the jedi and the republic part of his destiny or was that him rejecting it? Does the world act upon him or does he act upon the word? Which matters more in the story? Is it man vs society or man vs self?
To be more specific to my post, I guess I was rejecting the idea that Luke was offering him something no one ever had, that if he had just had some compassion and support in the prequels he would have chosen differently. I don't think what Luke offered him was so different than what Padme tried to give him. Vader turning in rotj is the biggest character moment there is, and the prequels made a choice to mirror that. (I also don't think Obi Wan didn't try, but that's a different post.)

Controversial Star Wars opinion: the Star Wars universe is one of the most hopeless universes ever. It poses itself as hopeful, but when you look closer, it's really quite dire.
1) Anakin's life is tragic, whatever redemption he may be argued to have was only found in death, but his entire life sucked... so much
2) Padme tried so hard, and still failed, and found no redemption in death
3) Obi-Wan also tried so hard, and still lost everyone he cared about
4) The clones. All of it, everything about them. Sentient, but not free, thrown away like trash when their usefulness has been served, just like:
5) Droids, all of them, everything about them. Sentient, but not free, etc. Even C3PO, one of the most famous droids, is rarely shown respect by *the heroes* of the series.
6) Luke, what he became - a sad, milk chugging hobo who abandoned his responsibilities after trying to murder his nephew, which - seems wildly out of character for the man who held hope for *Darth Vader*, but I digress.
7) The OT trio were apparently so bad at their jobs that the First Order came back as strong as the Empire in only *thirty years*; this makes Leia look wildly incompetent at governing... Which I hate.
8) Love is destined to fail or end in tragedy - Obi- Wan and Satine, Padme and Anakin Han and Leia, the beloathed Reylo.
9) Evil can only be beaten by good temporarily at best, before it somehow returns.
10) Most of the galaxy exists in widespread poverty and slavery and war are common and neverending.
In conclusion, for a universe that presents itself as hopeful and full of hope for the future... There isn't a lot of it.
I do see where you're coming from, Anon. But I have to mostly disagree with you. I'll go through this point-by-point:
Yes, Anakin's life was difficult, and tragic. But was it all bad? He certainly seemed to have happy moments with Padme, Ahsoka, and/or Obi-Wan during The Clone Wars, and after all the tragedy and horror he suffered (and he did suffer, no matter how self-inflicted some of it was), he died redeemed and cradled in his son's arms, becoming one with The Force.
I do agree with this one. Poor Padme's life is a tragedy.
In the end, he didn't lose Qui-Gon, Yoda, Anakin, or any of his Jedi friends. He'll be with them forever in The Living Force. It is a tragedy that he lost Satine, but he didn't lose everyone.
I don't really have a rebuttal here, as yes, you are actually right. It is wrong how they are treated, and canon itself acknowledges that.
...are droids sentient? They have personalities, but... aren't those personalities just programming? I'm genuinely asking, if anyone has a definitive, canonical answer.
I disagree that Luke's character was ruined by TLJ. I kinda liked that a hero as optimistic as Luke eventually reached his breaking point. It makes him more human, which makes him pulling himself out of that rut and becoming a hero once more all the more meaningful.
I think that canon has established thoroughly enough that The Empire/Palpatine still had tendrils all over The Galaxy, making their return as The First Order inevitable. Also, my understanding is that Leia isn't incompetent, but she was politically ruined when it got out who her father was.
...okay, maybe falling in love in Star Wars is a bit of a health hazard. I'll agree with you there.
Yes, there will always be evil out there, but there will always be good to rise up and vanquish it.
There is no defense or rebuttal to this one, as it's completely true. But most fantasy worlds do have their dark, depressing, or seedy sides. Also, we are constantly seeing wars being ended, slaves freed, and hope being restored to the hopeless in Star Wars. We see the misery turn to joy, over and over again.
My own conclusion; yes, this hopeful universe does have a lot of hopelessness in it. But there is also a bright spark of hope that runs through it all.
However, I'm open to disagreement. This is merely my own response to your points.

On the subject of Lightsabers:
I have lightsaber references! All on heroforge obviously, because I cannot draw blades, and with notes that mark their most distinguishing trait. SOme of these are colors, others are blade type, it really just depends on the most interesting thing about the blade. I'll put notes on how they differ from how they look in the AU in the notes, because obviously Heroforge only has so many blade options and they don't all look exactly like I see them in my mind. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
The Disaster Trio
Obi has a sword and shield because Soresu is a defensive form. His shield and the crossbar of his sword are both based on the crest of the Jedi Order. In AU Canon, this is more obvious.
Ahsoka has twin daggers because her fighting style is highly acrobatic, and full length swords would make that... rather dangerous; to save space I only put one of the pair. In season 7, Anakin replaces the Kyber Crystals in her original daggers, so they are technically the same daggers but now they burn the same blue as his saber.
Anakin's sword is a dual-handed greatsword, because his form is very aggressive and relies a lot on hacking away at your opponent and physically overpowering them. Also something something dual-edged sword, something something foreshadowing.
Tumblr media
Male Jedi
Kit's flame is less a flame and more of watery magic. This is because he is of an aquatic race, and I thought it was cool :D
Yoda has a rapier because his form is very acrobatic and rapiers lend well to that.
Not going to lie, I struggled with Ki-Adi's saber, so I made his really unique in that his blade is darker than the flame that burns by a drastic amount.
MACE okay so. My guy has an executioner sword, because he is the Arbiter Of Justice (tm). Also, these kinds of swords have blunted ends and aren't meant to be used in combat, meaning that for Mace to actually use it as a weapon he needs incredible skill. Which he has. I love Mace Windu :D
Tumblr media
Lady Jedi
Shaak's blade is supposed to be wavy like Ahsoka's daggers; wavy blades are a symbol of the Togruta in this AU. However, Heroforge didn't have any good options for this >:(
Barriss's and Luminara's swords have hilts made of Mirialan metalwork- Mirialan metal is fired with special potions that turn it special shades of red and green and gold. It is almost as valued as Mandalorian stained glass in the Galactic Archipelago. If you look closely, the little you can see of Luminara's bracers is also made of Mirialan metalwork.
Tumblr media
Grievous's CoLlEcTiOn *cough hack whEEZE*
My favorite is the midnight blue one >:)
I have nothing else to add, I literally just designed sabers I thought looked freaking cool. If you want to make up lore for them, PLEASE do, I'd love to see it :D
Tumblr media
Sith
THE DARKSABER okay so it has lightning instead of a flame because I wanted to replicate those crackles that it has. Anyway I think it looks really cool :D Also the serrated edge? *chef's kiss*
Dooku's saber is a rapier because it's the Gentleman's Fire Sword. However it does not look exactly like this in AU canon; I have a Dooku drawing ref in the works and when I post that I can explain it better. Also it is modeled on Yoda's because I really want to play up that Fallen Jedi Angst >:)
Ventress's sickles (much like Ahsoka, I only put one here to save space) is highly based on her Nightsister heritage. Even when she was a Padawan, I think she had that inspiration in her Jedi blade. Their blades are shaped like moons, and even her force signature is tinged with Nightsister Green (because her dark side powers also incorporate Nightsister Magick; if they didn't, they'd be pure blood-red, because it's important to me for Lore Reasons (tm) that while Jedi can have this whole array of colors, Sith all have the same shade of red).
Tumblr media
Original Trilogy Bois
Luke's green force signature is tinged with blue because I will always associate Luke Skywalker with blue. Don't ask me why. But Luke is BLUE and I will DIE ON THIS HILL. FIGHT ME.
Vader's saber is based on his greatsword from when he was Anakin, because I think he got attatched to the design. Also because I want that visual motif of "Anakin is still buried in there" because I am a sucker for symbolism and metaphors. But you know that already ;)
I don't have Anakin's original (and by original i mean like his umpteenth) saber, AKA Luke's first saber, because it's basically the same as we saw earlier, and these swords were TIME CONSUMING to render. However, I will note that the very tips of the flames on that saber begin to be tinged with sith red because of the atrocities Anakin committed with it. Someday I'll have a picture of it for you and you'll see what I mean
I don't have Old Obi's either, because again, TIME. CONSUMING. TO. RENDER. But it's basically the same as it was in the Clone Wars, just more corroded because my man was living in the desert.
If I cared enough to make Palpatation's saber (see i call him that because he gives me heart palpitations of rage) it would be here. But I do not. So it is not
(Okay. Yes he has a Saber in this AU I just haven't made it yet because I am Mad At Him)
