In my view, the fabric that represents Kueakiat's feeling for Lady Pin is like a fine and elegant silk with expensive value. Then, are you able to see the fabric which represents my feeling for Lady Pin?

nanami finds your perfect engagement ring -of course- but he is torn on the decision of the accompanying bands. he revisits the jeweler over weeks, standing before the glass and comparing the rings in the display to pieces of your favorite jewelry from past photos. they would all look so gorgeous and each unique ring aspect reminds him of a different part of you and, rather than leave any option behind, he gets a bunch. some have little emeralds, because the pop of green just compliments your skin tone so well. another is simple, just a band for your quieter days, when things get overwhelming. one stack of rings joins together like a little sun, and even with all the diamonds set in it, it cannot even hope to match half of your sparkle.
he gives each one to you on a different date. one night, he takes you for a beach stroll. you've just finished dinner at the most beautiful restaurant on the coast and as you walk hand in hand, your sandals in his free hand, you're focused on the sensation of the sand between your toes, and how the water feels lapping up before receding. when you turn around, he's got his eyes fixed on you. his gaze is soft and full of nothing but adoration and you watch him sneak his hand into the pocket of his pants before pulling out a stunning little band, decorated with small pearls. "kento, you did not!" you squeal, giddily making your way back to him, leaving small divots in the wet sand. you throw your arms around his neck without thought, and he grips on to the ring hard while his arms come around your back, intent on not dropping it. he replaced the sapphire embellished ring with the new one, perfectly fitting around your sparkling engagement ring. the blues were cute by the water but the pearls brought in such an elegant aspect. after taking a moment to admire it, you rise back to your tippy toes and bring your husband in for a kiss.
he smiles against your lips, pleased. "i take it, you like the ring?" he asks, as if he had even a smidge of doubt.
"it's perfect, my love." your response is echoed by the waves, the soft rumble of the ocean glittering under the moonlight only strengthening the resolve in your voice.

"Why did Ceroba inject her child with an experimental serum despite Chujin's warnings? Is she a total idiot? That makes no sense, she's a bad parent! This is bad writing!!!"
SHE THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE!!! Chujin blamed the serum failing solely on the fact that the SOUL he used was "impure." Nothing about his technique or anything he did; to him the problem was that the SOUL was "impure." So when Kanako pointed out that Ceroba had improvised a method to extract impurities from the SOUL sample, then it made sense that, since the only issue with the serum was taken care of, it should've been safe to use. That was likely the only deviation that Ceroba did when crafting Chujin's serum, and she probably figured that she'd screwed up removing the impurities instead of questioning anything about her husband's serum; hence why she tries leading a "pure-hearted" Clover to the Royal Laboratory to try making the serum with Kanako all over again. Ceroba's admiration and inability to find fault with Chujin led to her injecting Kanako with the serum, not bad writing or whatever.

chapter 4 is kinda the "ah there he goes Komaeda is now mean to everyone" chapter but its focus characters are basically the perfect counter to Komaeda's approach to life and death and therefore extremely fitting setup for Komaeda's death the next chapter.
Nidai is, like Komaeda, someone who has a terminal health condition that severely limits what he can achieve compared to most people. But he chooses to live the life he has to the fullest, doing what he can in its duration by being himself to support others. Tanaka is, like Komaeda, someone who is aware of the unfairness of life, that for instance in the wild certain animals must die so others can live. But he knows that even those which die as prey fight as hard as they can before their demise. All three of these characters are aware of how unfair life is and that it may be cut sort at any moment before it comes to fruition. But unlike Komaeda, both Tanaka and Nidai respect the life they're given. Being fated to a stepping stone for another's life, like a mice that gets eaten by a hawk, doesn't mean the mice gives up on its own life; the mice will still fight as hard as it can to live, and will have lived until its death. A human life is no different, it's meant to be lived.
So fitting that it is this chapter in which Komaeda learns the truth and rejects living, his life and everyone elses too, and spends the trial looking down on the class while they internalize Tanaka's message of always walking forward. This is the chapter that could have given him food for thought as to his own situation, but instead because he learns the awful truth he preemptively dismisses everything and rejects the moral of the chapter by rejecting the idea of living and moving forward, leading to him not only throwing away his life but now attempting to kill everyone else too in the next chapter
#danganronpa#sdr2#chapter 4 is honestly such a good lead-in to chapter 5 and endgame in terms of themes I think about it a lot#and I joke that dr2 is Komaeda The Game but I do truly believe that all the komaeda focus is extremely necessary#bc he has that extremely defeatist. despairing if you will. attitude that the game rejects and tears down#and it makes perfect sense where it comes from too given everything about his life and that he has two terminal illnesses#(in a way that's also a bit different from tanaka and nidai's case too tbh but that's an adjacent topic)#to the point I think part of the question he raises isn't 'how do you flip his world views so they stop being Like That'#but rather how do you understand and accomadate someone with such experiences#in a way that doesn't invalidate and dismiss them. but also stops them from being a harm to themselves and hence others#honestly despite being program mandated therapist I don't think nanami could have helped komaeda only hinata#he desires understanding and gravitates to hinata bc they're similar. nanami isn't so I don't think she'd understand him enough to give any#perspective. vs hinata who can#which is also why I think Hinata is such a good counter to him bc Hinata has the experience of having his own life and existence erased#to become izuru. when he felt like nothing. which is something I think Komaeda could actually understand#and see himself in and use to flip himself around#not that it's hinata's responsibility. and yet the game does have commentary on Understanding others. bc Hinata's#reaction to his death isn't 'thank god' or 'deserved' or anything#but rather regret at not understanding him earlier. and given a motive to understand him via the trial#dr talk#dr meta#tanaka's view is also rather tobias animorphs of him but ya know tobias lives as a hawk

WIP Wednesday
I'm not 100% sure where this is going to fit into we said hello and your eyes look like coming home, but Feyre's going to find out where all her dresses are coming from at some point
"You didn't think you'd ever see anyone wearing these, did you?" I breathed. "No. No, I didn't." Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, and I was very, very careful not to let my sleeve touch my face as I brushed them away. Now that I knew where the gown had come from, I wasn't sure I even dared to move for fear of staining or tearing it. "I'm honored. Truly." "She would have loved you," Rhys said, lifting a hand. My tears vanished with a flicker of night-kissed magic. "Though not right away, in all honesty. She made sure the dresses accommodated wings because she never gave up hope I'd settle down with an Illyrian. But if defeating the Middengard Wyrm didn't win her over, shooting that warrior out of the sky would have." "Your mother wanted you to end up with a killer?" He laughed. "She was very Illyrian. If she were still here, she would've been crowing for weeks about what an excellent shot you were to hit a male with such a small wingspan."
