He's a bit of a hothead (as we've all seen), but he can usually calm himself down before he gets too carried away, especially with you. He wouldn't want to scare you, or make you feel like he's angered because of you/something you've done, so he's careful not to flip out completely.

He remembers absolutely EVERYTHING. From your birthday, to your favourite colour, to some random thing you told him while he was drunk.

Very. Sam is and always has been very protective of you.

As mentioned, he tries to always keep a hand on you somewhere, ready to pull/push you away from something. He'd do whatever he can to keep you safe, even if it meant sacrificing himself for you.

Him on the other hand, feels like he doesn't need to be protected (brat). I love making size jokes because seriously, what is standing in front of him going to do? "Sorry, Sam, I couldn't see you behind that grain of rice!"

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He puts in lots of effort, this is where the acts of service comes into play. He loves getting you little gifts on each hunt, whether its a dumb little souvenir or something more romantic, like a flower.

He also likes taking the lead on things, telling you not to worry and that he can do it for you.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

He's a teeth gritting nail biter. And, he wears socks to bed sometimes.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Only a little, he makes sure his hair is done before leaving but aside from that he's not too concerned. You aren't, so he isn't either!

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

He's not necessarily dependant on you. But at the same time, if he'd lost you, even just temporarily, he wouldn't know what to do with himself.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

He keeps a scrapbook full of things to do with you. He secretly takes pictures of you when you're not looking, and saves them to add to said scrapbook.

He put petals from your favourite flowers in there, along with pages of your favourite colours, and a page with a sample of your favourite perfume/cologne. He loves you.

Someone who's super self-loathing or conceited, it's one thing if you struggle with insecurity or self image issues, of course. But constantly being around someone with too much negativity is too much for him to take, so that's an absolute no for him

Characters: Kafka, Blade, Silver Wolf & SAM Spoilers: Spoilers for SAMs identity + 2.0 questline (penacony) This is also a remake of some old headcannons I had to include Firefly!

Synopsis: The current mission you guys are on requires an overnight stay. Kafka finds a nice location by a lake for you all to camp. What's it kind camping with them?

- Kafka starts the night off by cooking dinner for the 4 of you, depending on your diet she’ll cook whatever anyone wants. Of course that also requires setting up the table you guys brought & finding ingredients either in the car or in the wild. Even if you are missing a bit of meat Kafka wouldn’t mind going hunting for a snack anyway.

- After the campfire is put up Kafka tells lots of scary stories, hoping you’ll get scared later in the night. Silver Wolf gets scared by stone of them and blade doesn’t get scared at all. Kafka loves making smores though!

- During the nighttime, shes sleeping peacefully in her solo tent, not a single sound to be heard. She might get up around 3am just to talk a walk, if you’re awake Kafka will gladly invite you to join her.

- Blade is the main helper of the group! Helping Kafka setup the campsite and any dinner materials. He does offer to hunt some animals if needed

- After that, Blade wanders into his own world, usually just resting or thinking about the mission. Although he wouldn't mind if you and firefly went to bother him to ask to play some games with him-to which he'd gladly join.

- While sitting down at the campfire he also remains silent & only tells one scary story after you and Kafka forced him too, Blade doesn’t want make any smores but with enough convincing he'll make a few for you guys to eat

- Out if everyone he goes to sleep the earliest. Depending on how close you are with him you guys might share a tent or not, but make sure you don’t wake him up as you enter later on.

- Silver doesn’t have anything to do while Kafka makes dinner-mainly just playing games on her tablet. After dinner she gets the campfire ready along with firefly for smores & scary stories. During the night she also manages to make the most amount of snores.

- At night she’s staying up until 3-4 playing video games. If you’re up and can’t sleep she’ll invite you to play along aswell. At 4 she decides she does need at least some hours of sleep since it’s also a very early start for tomorrows mission.

- Firefly helps Kafka and blade with preparing dinner, especially with lighting/cooking anything up. Fire powers come in handy! But other than that she would play some games with you or go on a walk with you.

- Later on she helps Silver Wolf get the smores together and fights up the campfire. Out of everyone she ate the most smores (and Blade ended up giving her a lot of his since she liked them)

- Sleeping in her tent is like having the best sleepover! Tons of snacks, playing games & watching a lot of fun movies. Until it reaches midnight or maybe 1 am if you're lucky, then she insists you need your sleep for tomorrows early mission!

A house husband who jumps off speeding trains with a handgun on the occasional Thursday.

Not only does our pretty boy Nathan Morgan need someone who grounds him— (though that can mean many things; Nate is anything but a one type man)

With them, every morning is peaceful and slow

He'll follow farmer around with the umbrella covering mostly farmer, so he gets pretty drenched.

Will be extremely protective over farmer. Farmer gives him a heart attack every time they go to the mines or the skull cavern or even in the sewer like baby what are you doing WHY ARE YOU GOING INTO THE MANHOLE

The caves he can't follow farmer with because he knows he isn't trained to fight monsters like farmer is and might hold them back instead, but he'll wait outside or tell Harvey that farmer's in the mines instead

Doesn't come out with it but he needs a lot of reassurance due to abandonment issues. He gets a little clingy and touchy but a little shy. (reaching for farmer’s hand/just pinching onto a part of the farmer’s clothes and holding on)

Once farmer asks him out he's very unsure how to proceed. He'll call them things like dude and bro *with love*

He WILL stop smoking if farmer ever raises concern for his well-being

He starts to come out of his shell more (in general) as he and farmer progress their relationship. He tries his best to be a great partner, and everyone can sense that his demeanor is a little bit brighter than before. He starts to not be as shy about PDA too

Note: It's about time I dip my toes into Stardew Valley! I love this game the absolute most ^^ My personal wifey is Emily but Shane was my first ever husband. This is kind of a dating alternative to what we get in game.

The bar is just about your favorite place to go. Not for the booze or the well cooked food, but for the nights that the town gathered for a good time. It's nearing the end of your first year here and already you're the social butterfly farmer of the town. You've even got a secret handshake with Sebastian, Abigail, and Sam! Alex is your tussling buddy on days that you've gotten most things done, and Emily? Well, she's just about your best friend here. That... Wasn't your choice. The others were pretty fine with you too, all except for Shane.

"Ah, don't mind him. He's always a grump!" Sam nudges you gently, trying to get your eyes off of the man drinking alone. "Everyone says that around here... Has anyone even invited him to a game of pool? Or even cards?" You look between the young adults that all shared worried and cringed gazes. "(Y/N)..." Abigail starts, but Sebastian continues for her. "Shane is about the most depressing man in Pelican Town. Every time anyone tries to talk to him, he'll shove them right off and keep going about his life. If you want to invite him for something, go right ahead. We'll be here for when he rejects your friendship."

Despite his words and teasing smirk, you puff your chest right out and share a hopeful smile of your own. "You know what? I'll talk to him! And he'll be so blown away by my charm, he'll BEG to hang out with me more!" With that, you turn your back to the group. Sam gives Sebastian a glare, "That's mean of you Sebastian. You know he's going to break their heart..." Sebastian shrugs, "Hey, if they want to find out, they're free to."

Shane's behavior wasn't unknown to you. You'd stop him sometimes on his walk to work and say hi, just for him to simmer in anger that you'd pause his walk. Though, every passing day, his anger towards your hellos lessened. Didn't completely stop the dissatisfaction but at least he isn't fuming every day.

"Shane! Buddy! What are you doing alone on a Friday night?" You beam your brightest smile, but the man's side eye quickly dashes your mood. "Drinking. Like I always do. Now what do you want?" He huffs softly, you adjusting the collar of your shirt. "I was wondering if you'd join me and my friends for-" "No."

"But... You didn't..." "I said no. I don't do 'friends' or hangouts. You think your friends would really like some drunk bastard joining them just to ruin the mood?" Your once bright smile quickly fades into an unsure expression. Honestly, you look like a kicked puppy. "Get back to your group and don't talk to me while I'm here. I'm no excited dog like you, farmer."

When you make your little defeated saunter to your friends, you mostly expect them to laugh at your attempt to reach out to Shane. But they had been listening in, with Sam pulling you into a comforting hug. "Like I said, don't mind that guy. You're a wonderful person! Come on, how about a game?" Abigail perks up, "We could try Blackjack!" Sebastian quickly cuts in, "Are you kidding? (Y/N) ALWAYS wins! They're the GOD of gambling, Abby."

The rest of your time spent at the saloon was trying to get your mind off that negative interaction. And yet, you couldn't stop thinking about him. You and your friends were first to leave, but you did stick around for a nightly walk. Perusing the rivers around with an awestruck beauty. It isn't long until you find a little isolated dock, where you sit and look down into the waters. Footsteps alert you to someone nearby, with a hefty sigh pairing with the sound of someone sitting next to you.

"Did your friends leave for the night?" Shane's voice sounds a lot more careful in tone. "Yeah, they all have their own things to do the rest of the night. The farm doesn't have much for me to do now that winter is approaching, so I'm watching the fish." To your response, Shane nods his head thoughtfully and takes a sip of his bottle. "Hm. Your pet doesn't even need you tonight?"

You chuckle a little, "They're probably fast asleep in my bed. Dirtying up the sheets!" Shane doesn't really take to laughing but does smile faintly. "Beats sleeping alone." While he drinks some more out of his bottle, you look on with a little worry. "Hm? Did you want a sip?" "Oh no, I've had more than enough to drink tonight. It's just... What you said."

"...Sleeping alone?"

"Yeah. You don't sound happy about that..."

"I'm... Okay with it." He tries to shrug off your worry, but your gentle hand comes to hold onto his shoulder. "Okay doesn't mean happy."

His eyes roll back into his head, but he doesn't even make a move to remove your hand from his shoulder. "I know it doesn't. But why should I make myself happy? I live, I work, and I get by. What more is there to life? Okay is better than in trouble."

You scoot in closer and try to look into his wavering eyes, "What about the fresh flowers of spring? The silver scales of fish in the water? Something's got to make you happy."

"What about them, huh? The flowers would be okay if I wasn't here. The fish would probably rejoice. The sun will still rise and- god, no one in this town would care!" His eyes prickle with tears, one hand gripping his hair, "The only possible people who would probably bat an eye are Marnie and Jas- But what, it would take a month to forget me? Two? I would have added nothing to this-"

The warmth from your tight embrace stops his rambling. The only other feeling he can really note is the dampening of his shirt as you bury your face in it. "Uhm... (Y/N)...?" Shane doesn't try to pull you off, instead wrapping a hesitant arm around you. "Shane..."

You pull yourself back, trying to wipe the tears from your eyes. "You are loved so much more than just by Marnie and Jas... There's so much that would change if the only time we spend with you is at your funeral! The only time I spend with you! Even if it's just stopping by to say hello, I still appreciate every positive feeling I get with you..." He shakes his head slightly yet doesn't let go. "(Y/N), I know what you're going to say, but you're not going to convince me of anything. I know this place wouldn't care if I lived or-"

A hand to his mouth quickly shuts him down, "Stop that! Please...! I have lost too many friends already because they thought no one loved them..." Those pools of tears in your eyes strike him right in the heart. "I don't care about any flaws you see in yourself. The drinking, the attitude- you're not unlikeable just because of that. I love being around you..."

A careful rough hand slips your hand from his mouth. "How can you say that when I've been nothing but mean to you?"

"Because I care for you, whether you like to think that or not! I want to make your days better... I want you to finally put that fear of people aside and join my friends in games- even if it's just a try. I want to see you stop and smell the flowers on your way to work and- and-" His hands reach your wrists, pulling them down to ground you from your rant.

"That's... A lot of feelings, farmer. I don't exactly think hanging out with your pals or some games will help-" His now soft gaze looks into your worried one, "But, I... I think I could try for you. At least, try to have some better days. I..." He tries to choke down his sentimental rant, but the words keep coming. "I'd hate to make you cry. Out of everyone in this town... You're about the only one I hate seeing so miserable."

With a little laugh, you sniffle and keep wiping the moist tears from your face. "What about the others?" "I'd like to keep Marnie and Jas happy at least. Though, Lewis could probably use a few tears..." You playfully shove Shane for his comment while bursting with laughter. "That's so mean! Lewis is okay!" "That's what you think, farmer. I don't know what ANYONE sees in him..."

The starry night was spent with more teasing and a much lighter conversation. Only ending when your tired yawning led him to walk you all the way back to the farm. Now that Shane has his own friend... He could see his future holds better days.

also fun fact: the oxford scenes in saltburn were shot in brasenose college and obvs some harry potter was shot there

genuinely though oxford is such a beautiful place it’s my dream uni, like i went to christ church too and it was so pretty, magdalen was pretty too there was like a lake and we walked past like a field with animals on it (i forgot what they were but it was either sheep or alpacas) and u can walk all over the place

ACTUALLY GOING INSANE RIGHT NOW, YOU GET IT SAM YOU GET ITTT.

I can’t believe I’m reading this at a wedding right now. I’m sitting in a corner far away from my family just in case. I may or may not be obsessing over this right now, who needs religion imma be praying to this every night.

The way Gale would never be harsh or mean to John and even when he is he never means it because he sees so much of himself in John (specifically him when he was younger) and how he knows what it feels like having a shitty dad and not feeling at home in your own house. He’d try his best to make John feel at home and safe in his house even if it does take a while. Even if sometimes John is “too much”/self-sabotaging, Gale sees through it and understands it’s just John is scared of losing him.

The way John would just walk around the house waiting for Gale to come back from work, literally trying to find anything to keep him distracted. He’d probably do some school work and if he doesn’t have any, do some housework like cook or clean the house (Like some type of housewife holyldkfijf, Gale would definitely tease him about it). And yes he would definitely raid Gale’s closet for his hoodie to chill around the house in it, maybe even fall asleep in it and Gale would come back from work to find him on the couch, hugging himself with the hoodie on. (Just imagining John’s smaller body wearing one of Gale’s big ass baggy hoodies…)

And oh how they would fight and how angsty it could get but at the end of the day both can’t be apart without each other and would eventually apologize and talk it out, how John would probably lock himself away after a fight but eventually come out and see Gale on the sofa head in hands and he’d just walk up to him and hug him. They’d stay there for hours on end just laying and cuddling and Gale would whisper sorry’s and comforting words/praises into John’s ear.

YES EXACTLY!! to tackle the angst first: there would be sooo many dots connected with gale's own childhood/upbringing/relationship with his dad that he would see in john, and it would make him even more fiercely protective and determined to make sure he never ever makes john feel the way his dad made him feel, or how john's dad makes john feel. when he's frustrated with john, he can usually trace it back to a behaviour he himself used to do, and he can realize that it's out of insecurity, or anxiety, or fear, etc.

he knows sometimes he just has to let john push and test boundaries, because as long as he patient and proves to john he will never raise his voice, or lay a hand on him, or abandon him, john will realize that he's someone he can let his walls down with and trust fully, and over time he'll stop feeling the need to push. he just needs to be shown consistency and stability and unwavering love. :(

there's also the fact that this is john's first longterm/serious relationship outside of highschool, whereas gale's had a lot more experience and time to learn communication skills (it's something he still finds himself coming up short with a lot though).

they're on very opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to fights/arguments. for gale, some issues that might seem small/insignificant might feel really big for john; for example, the way gale words something after a long stressful day might sound at worst blunt to him, but to john it might sound like gale's being short and is angry about something john hasn't figured out yet, so then tension builds.

again, circling back round to insecurity on john's part because of how he's grown up, and circling round to gale needing to work on communication skills because he's not used to having to since he's usually on his own if he's not around friends. and yk, daddy issues on both ends lol.

i think also their ways of trying to resolve conflict would differ from each other, so it would be something they both have to learn to compromise on too. like you said, john is for sure the type to lock himself away or leave the house to get some air and calm himself down, anything he can do to self–isolate until he feels ready to talk, whereas i feel like gale is the type to either brush past it and assume it's no big deal/it'll blow over, and/or the type to want to sort things out the moment something happens, to talk it out until it's resolved. and obviously those immediate reactions to conflict kinda grate on each other, so they have to figure out how to balance things out.

but john's an easy crier and he feels just as guilty when he blows up and walks out on gale as gale does when he's too blunt or harsh when they're arguing, and neither of them can ever go to bed upset with each other. by the time john comes back home, the reflexive anger/hurt has always seeped out and made room for quiet sadness and guilt, and all he wants to do is find gale and attach himself to him and mumble his apologies and be held (and in turn have the relief of the confirmation that gale still wants to hold him.) or if john's shut himself away in the spare room or is sulking on the back porch, gale will be the one to go to him and crouch down in front of him and take his hands in his and ask what he needs, and ask if they can talk. <3

angst aside, YEAH. john doesn't mind being alone sometimes, but in general he's very social and gets his energy and good mood from being around other people, so if gale's at work and his friends are busy and he doesn't have any studying to be done, he keeps himself busy around the house (which also helps alleviate his guilt over 'intruding', or gale not letting him pay rent, because he can feel like he's making himself useful.)

and gale without a doubt teases him about it, calls him his little housewife one day when he comes home to john cooking and pounces on the way it makes john flush, wrapping his arms around him from behind and pulling him and murmuring "yeah? you like waiting for me to get home, like a cute little housepet?" and it's all banter, but it gets to both of them more than they expect. >:)

it definitely does gale in too when he sees john get comfortable enough to start stealing his clothes like that, loving how he looks in them and feeling his heart soften with the knowledge that john still wants a piece of him as close as possible when he's not with him. (he also lays john out on the couch and fucks him in nothing but gale's hoodie the first time he comes home to that <3)

and yes to the sex dynamic stuff, 100%. gale never gives john any reason to believe that he's only in it for sex, especially since gale's the one who holds off on jumping into hooking up straight away, but john does worry sometimes at the beginning until he starts to feel secure with gale. i think gale would be aware of this being a possible issue too and it would contribute to him keeping things slow at first because he wants to establish to john that he's not just a pretty body to him.

and as time goes on gale realizes how he can use stuff like gentle submission/instruction/etc like in that cockwarming drabble to get john out of his head, to help him relax, etc without directly asking john to take breaks or calm down, because john is stubborn and will work himself into the ground unless he sees that ask as something that benefits gale too. (they work on that, though.)
