Jimmy is so afraid of living in a world without Tango. He'll do whatever it takes to avoid that reality. He will personally reinstate the Canary Curse if it means he never has to live through losing Tango. He doesn't care who it hurts, he refuses to go through that hurt himself. He is so terrified of that pain that he doesn't stop to think that maybe Tango is, as well.

It never occurs to him that maybe Tango is trying to take on the Canary Curse so that he doesn't have to live in a world without Jimmy. Maybe Tango is just as afraid of that pain, if not more so, because he has actually experienced it twice (what did he care, before Double Life? Before Double Life, Jimmy was just The Canary. It wasn't until their hearts were bound together that he became His Canary). He's sick and tired of having his heart torn out again and again. Just once, he wants to give Jimmy the chance to outlive him. He is determined to avoid losing him again as all costs.

That's the reason Tango is so reckless and antagonising this season. He killed Skizz because he knew Skizz would be able to kill him soon, and Skizz would never pass up the opportunity for revenge. He ate Gem and Joel's bases because if anyone would be able to send him out of the season in a blaze of glory, it's those two. He encouraged Bdubs and Etho to be tougher (tuffer?) to put a bigger target on all three of their backs collectively. He says his snail can kill him anytime, disguising it under a "ha-ha, they're so cute", because if that's what it takes for him to beat Jimmy to the end then so be it.

Jimmy is bracing to sacrifice himself before Tango can be out first, meanwhile Tango is barreling for a perma-death at light speed, refusing to lose his Rancher even one more time.

Jimmy would sacrifice himself, in order to not deal with Tango dying before him, in Wild Life, just saying.

He wouldn't care if he was on red he wouldn't care how much lives he has left or be first out again. He'd do anything, to keep Tango alive a little longer, regardless of what will happen to him.

It's one of those days

I wake up, mind foggy and disoriented. I go about my morning routine on autopilot. Empty eyes. Blank expression. Mind far away.

Sans.

Sans squirms under the covers, nuzzling into the warmth of my body.

I brush my teeth, unseeing eyes locked onto a random spot on the sink.

Sans lets out a low grunt and I growl, clenching my teeth on the toothbrush, foam all over my mouth.

How fitting.

I wash my face with shaky hands while Sans arches against my body in the most delicious way.

My hands trace his lumbar vertebrae, edges rounded and soft. He's such a gentle, non-threatening creature. Nothing about his body is harsh to the touch. No sharp angles. Nothing to attack with. No armour. Just inviting softness.

He is so human in that regard.

I rub the intervertebral discs with the tips of my fingers and feel the jelly-like surface yield under the careful pressure. His breath hitches and he whispers my name.

I sigh and start making tea, walking around the kitchen in a haze. My shift at work starts in 10 minutes.

Sans whines ever so softly as my hand reaches inside his hollow ribcage, caressing, massaging the warm bones.

I stop in the middle of the kitchen, spilled tea trickling down my arm onto the floor.

I watch the droplets fall.

Smooth bones shiver under my fingers.

I put the glass back on the counter and turn around lethargically to get some paper towels.

Teeth pressed against my lips. Ragged breath.

Sugar. I need to get a soap. Or the floor is going to be sticky.

"please, just... please"

The floor tiles are cold and smooth when I kneel down.

I can't see my kitchen anymore.

Sans leans into my hand needily as I wipe the sweat off his forehead.

It's going to be a torturously long day.

I dont know how to feel about how you can see the adjustments and the little added features accumulate over time........its almost scary..... but i thought it was interesting.. so heres The Page at the end of its lifecycle before i open a new one and perpetuate my endless purgatory.
