My Thoughts on Zayne's Hidden Motive Discourse

Disclaimer : this post is made as a response and purely written by my understanding and opinion on recent discourse that happened on tiktok regarding the hate and mischaracterization on Zayne. This post isn't proof read and English is not my first spoken language so i appologize for bad grammar / spelling mistakes and i hope my points and arguments can came trough correcty.

Context :

I'd like to put out my arguments, as proof that i highly do not support the narration, the hate train from TikTok community has on zayne saying "they made him a pushover wattpad boy on this card" and said this card is Zayne being very OOC.

Before putting out my thoughts. I want to point out that i wrote this based on the game's JP Dub because i understood Japanese better and i just want to say that there are alot of contexts and implied language that unfortunatelly got lost on the EN translations.

Quick summary of the card and proofs :

At the beginning of this memory MC got injured on a mission and zayne suddenly was positioned as the helping medical staff for the area that MC we're working on though he lied about his reasoning during this moment.

Their interaction is highly implied that zayne communicates with her as Zayne the Doctor and Zayne as MC's romantic partner.

Its clear that zayne uses different words when talking with her as a Doctor and as a non platonic partner and so is his tone when speaking.

Proof 1 :

After treating her wound as a doctor, he put MC hair behind her ears and, told her that he's going back to work.

If u watch the JP dub u can clearly tell this is him playing 2 different figures at the same time.

Proof 2 :

When MC we're talking to the kid that she saved, Alfred, he told her that she was very strong, and she asked if he wants to see her solid abs. But then Zayne came in, while coughing, and said

Though on the JP dub he says "That's useless, a kid shouldn't be seeing that". In a teasing way, though his tone is very stoic and he said it with a poker face.

And after that he spoke to her switching being a doctor and a partner again, when he told her to wait in the treating room 5. He does this for litterally the whole menoria, but i think 2 examples are enough as a proof.

Proof 3 :

The mention of "fortune telling". A reference to Zayne's MYTH 2. It's not really important but i just wanna point this one out to argue that during this conversation Zayne n MC clearly have a healthy realtionship he mentions alot about her wellbeing as a very important part of his stress management, seeing her well and able to banter with him put his mind at ease, knowing MC's nature to be a little bit reckless and clumsy.

Proof 4 :

When Alfred told MC and Zayne that they we're invited to the farewell ceremony, and asked them if they could attend, she bargained Zayne for his time to appreciate the people on the area, calling him "医者のおじさん" or Uncle Doctor. And Zayne referes to himself as both Uncle Doctor and Brother Doctor or "医者のお兄さん" now this is very important. Because this shows a concrete proof that Zayne has been playing 2 person figures during his time at the local's hospital. As Dr. Zayne and 'just' Zayne.

On the JP dub he said "Uncle Doctor might be busy, but Brother Doctor might have some time to spare". This important context is basically not translated well on the EN dub. And he is not acting OOC.

Proof 5 :

At the farewell ceremony, MC and Zayne talked about life and death meaning and value, as a hunter and a doctor. On this part u can clearly hear Zayne is a little bit upset on how reckless MC is as if she doesn't value her life enough to help people. She told him about already having her last wishes but she stopped herself because he interupted her, Zayne is upset, again, u can hear him clearly not happy at the way she positioned herself and her life against danger and death.

He made his boundaried clear especially having to positioned himself as a cardiac surgeon on how it's hard when he had touched someone's naked beating heart on his own palm, doing an OC-CPR. Trying to save that person.

During this time MC fell silent as she think about everything and rechoose her words, reminding herself how difficult it is to prevent and save someone from death.

Proof 6 :

When the lanterns being released to the sky MC said that the lights is beautiful, he nods at her saying "yes, its beautiful" but he didn't even turn around to look at the lantern, his eyes are glued to her posing for the picture. A VERY IMPORTANT POINT, he admited that he IS talking about her, not the lantern. You can tell on how his yearning for her is growing here, It's not everyday Zayne can be this transparent with his intentions especially when being asked.

Proof 7 :

As MC fell asleep on his car after the flight he asked if she wants him to drop him off at her place, but then he asked again, gently, if she wants to just stay at his place. Again, hints for his yearning on his voice.

NOW. This one has been a point of hate on Zayne because on the EN translation he said this :

While on JP he said "if u can't answer it now, i'm assuming it's a okay". Now this sentence implying a hint of worryness on how tired and sleepy she was.

The people on tiktok pointed out that Zayne did not care about her consent while on the card, is clearly said that MC did KNEW and RECALL she went straight to Zayne's house. The situation isn't like as if Zayne took her somewhere shady without her consent. And he treated her with so much care by cooking her breakfast.

Proof 8 :

Now here Greyson exposes Zayne to MC that he insisted that he wanted to took the medical mission on a high risk quaranteened area, even though he was positioned on a less dangerous area beforehand. He even said Zayne acts like he doesn't care much trough his words but Zayne is actually CARES and WORRIES about her alot.

We can see trough out his latest cards, every emotions are drawn on his voice and body language.

Proof 9 :

During this part it stated that Zayne did gave MC permission to overstep his boundaries by pursing his lips, giving permission MC to touch his skin.

Proof 10 :

Post sex nap convo between Zayne n MC shows how Zayne has changed as a person, his tone is very gentle and witty, clearly he's comfortable with her, and another clear sign of a healthy relationship. On this moment, Zayne starts up a topic about being open, and straightforward is very important to him, but MC revoked Zayne by saying he also isn't being transparent with her, Zayne kisses her forehead and said that he hates hearing things about her wellbeing from other people, it made him feel like an outsider. And the rest of the conversations is MC and Zayne giving each other reassurance regarding keeping each other safe and sound.

Now i'd like to mention a few things from Zayne's previous card, Snowy Serenity, and a few things from Zayne's Find Tobias' (Abyssal Chaos) coversations with MC.

That the main 2 problems within Zayne and MC's relationship are :

1. Zayne is really bad at letting people hear what they wanted to hear even if it's to give the other person a sense of security, he sometimes a bit too blunt and too honest, but he's willing to work it out. This was also briefly mentioned on the Heartwork Routine Event.

2. Zayne and MC is struggling to be alot more open with each other because they don't want to worry their partner.

On Abyssal Chaos MC said that Zayne has changed by being more bold and flexible with her. Shown how much he's being alot more confident in engaging PDA.

The pattern with them is they both need something impactful and intimate to be able to open up. On Snowy Serenity Zayne was missing. And on Hidden Motive MC was injured. But after that theres an improvement between their relationship as the intimacy gave them a safe space to be open to one and another.

The Zayne hate on TikTok mainly focuses on how they said Zayne is turning into another wattpad boy and everything is OOC, but from the proofs i have stated above clearly i dont agree with that because i see it as Zayne and MC are both working out their relationship, and Zayne is constantly working himself up to be a better person who is willing to communicate.

The crowd on TikTok are blaming Infold and Sylus for "dragging" Zayne into another Wattpad based character while, again, I think Zayne character development is very well written, i don't feel like this card is fanservice-y, even though this whole game is a fanservice, i get it, it's one of the selling point of an otome game.

The thing with Zayne being bolder when it comes to intimacy shows on how much MC already trusts him, and how he has become very comfortable with her, Zayne is the type of person who has a habit of bottling his emotions, even though he got praised by almost everyone for his incredible self control. But Zayne on this timeline is a normal human being with physical - spiritual needs and emotions, not a demigod, not a mythical creature. Zayne himself has a breaking point considering how much restraint, yearning, has been closed of from affections he already been trough growing up. AND him letting loose his self control and lowering his guard down is not an incredibly OOC act, in fact most of the time initiated the intimate acts as shown on his previous cards, once MC flags up her green flag he took the lead.

Plus, this is a relationship is between two consenting adults. Everyone can tell this isn't the first time they engage in intimate / sexual activity.

As time goes by and the story progresses obviously we're going to see changes, and process within the characters. Zayne is not a block of wood and he is not an exception. Blaming Sylus and Infold writter for this is also not a solution, even Sylus himself is not a typical wattpad / booktok CEO. Though, again in otome games it's very common to have tropes between the love interest and the protagonist. I just hope the hate on Zayne stops, because i honestly enjoys his character writing. Same with the TikTok community hate on Xavier saying he gr00med MC, and saying Caleb is into inc3st relationship, i don't even understood how the mischaracterization on the boys are so severe on TikTok it's kind of sad.

Infold writers incorporates so many linguistics and cultural reference that's also a shame it's not translated well enough to the EN sub and dub so often times people missed their opportunity to understand why the card title is "Hidden Motive".

Ending statement from me is that i wish many players would do their own indepth reading and understanding before making a misleading scene on social media, this is why sometimes a certain fandom / community can't have nice things because of their own fandom and actions can lead to a train of hate and misconceptions regarding the game and our boys.

I highly suggest to watch the whole card on EN dub and other language dub (on this case its JP dub) as a comparison because the underlying contexts on some of the sentences are different.

Finishing up your last few client files, you glanced at your watch. 

9:39 p.m., it read.“Shit.”

The long, grueling day had made you tired and maybe just a tad bit hungry, hangry, honestly. Your best bet was stopping by the corner store just down the hill from your apartment. Why? Bi-weekly pay had you starving by the second week because, god damn, if inflation wasn’t a son of a bitch. After hurriedly packing up your stuff, you headed out and started your car, sighing into the driver’s seat, relieved to be out of the office. Really, on most days, it was too much. 

Peeling out of the parking lot, you started on your way. 15 minutes later, you could just make out the telltale sign of the little corner store. Bright red and orange lights flashed at you, reading “Cigars, Cigarettes, Tobacco, and more!” You always wondered what the “and more!” could possibly mean. 

Then there was Anakin. Tall, lanky ol’ Anakin. Leaning up against the wall just beside the entrance, you could tell he was smoking a joint. He was a regular at the corner store, usually hanging out at night. No sense or idea as to why Anakin was always there; for all you could guess, it was the insomniac in him. You only guessed because you were an insomniac yourself. Though for whatever reason it may be, no matter how many times he tried to weasel his way into your pants when you’d come by, his presence always brought you a sense of calm. Looking at him now, though, you could understand why every woman who walked into the store threw themselves at him first before they entered. He’s a very handsome man, you’ll give him that. His curly, tussled, dirty blonde hair, icy blue eyes, and muscles you couldn’t tell he had until you were standing right next to him (sleeper build much?!). He wore black, loose-fitting slacks, a dark gray sweatshirt, and white crew socks with the original old-school vans. Handsome man indeed.

As you were getting out of your car, Anakin walked up to greet you.

“Hey, Angel Face.”

You nodded your head “Anakin.”

“Awh, what’s the matter, love? Why the ‘tude?”

“Nothing. Could ya stop yapping and let me go inside the store, please?”

“Only because you asked nicely.” Stepping out of the way, he let you make your way into the store.  

Inside the store, you beelined it to the frozen section for ice cream. Ben & Jerry’s Americone Dream never did you wrong. Chip aisle came next. Xxxtra Hot Cheetos and Sabritones never did you wrong, either. On to the candy! Sour Punch Bites and, last but not least, dark chocolate Rolos. As you were walking back from the candy aisle, you stopped by the refrigerated drinks to grab a strawberry banana body armor and a GIANT essential water. After what seemed like a million years (it was 2 minutes) of standing in line for checkout, you set your stuff down on the counter and looked up at the cashier expectantly. As he started to scan the items, you felt the tingling feeling of being watched. You brushed it off because, hello? You were in a corner store; anyone could be staring at you.

You didn’t know that Anakin Skywalker had his eyes on you the entire time from the moment you stepped into the store. Bad intentions? Never. Yes, he knew he could be a bit creepy from time to time, but can you blame him? You’re you, and he’s him. He smokes a lot of weed, and you’re gorgeous; that’s his excuse anyway. You’re intriguing, and he is thoroughly intrigued, to say the least. While every other girl threw themselves at Anakin, you did not. You kept your distance, and that made him wonder about you. So, every night for the last 3 months, Anakin has been coming to the corner store to look at your pretty face and watch you. Again, it's weird, and he knows it, but you’re just too cute not to. When you’d come home from work in your skirts and button-ups or slacks and a pretty blouse, he was on his knees, just begging for a crumb of your attention. Most of the time, he could grab it, but there were a select few moments when he couldn’t, and his mood would plummet to the depths of hell. Whatever it was about you, he was severely attached.

The cashier finished bagging everything up and handed the bag and receipt to you. You took it with excitement and made your way out to your car. Heading home to go snuggle up in bed with your favorite snacks, a joint, a blanket, and your favorite show sounded like a great idea, that was until a certain someone’s slightly scratchy voice called out to you.

“No goodbye? I thought we were closer than that, Angel.”

“Goodbye, Ani.”

“What did you just call me?”

Oh fuck. SHIT. You just let the nickname only you had given Anakin slip right in front of him. He had still been puffing on the joint from when you went inside, but those movements have since stilled.

“Could ya say that again for me, love? I couldn’t quite hear you.”

“I said Goodbye, Anakin.”

“Nice try, baby; that absolutely was not what you said.”

At this point, you had no idea how Anakin had already made it to your driver's side door, where you had been standing and caged against your car.

“Please say it again.”

He was so close that you could feel his breath fanning against your lashes for every word that he spoke, and the smell of weed and peppermints permeated your nostrils. The combination of those two scratched your brain in a way that sentbutterflies straight to your core without a second thought.

“Ani”

“Fuck Angel, can I touch you?”

“Yes, please.”

Anakin’s hands moved from the side of the door to the base of your hips, immediately pulling you flush against him. From there, his hands traveled up the sides of your hips all the way up to your chest and back down again.

He was losing his mind. No way he got to touch you like this AND while he was blazed out of his mind? Fuck yeah. He then moved to say something in your ear, dangerously close to your neck.

“I’m gonna kiss you right here *kiss* and right here *kiss* aaaannnndddddd right here *kiss* mkay Angel?”

“Okay, Ani.”

Under his breath, you heard a quiet fuck after saying that, which may have slightly boosted your ego. He was essentially devouring your neck. Kisses, licks, and bites all over. In the corner store’s parking lot, which, yes, in a way, could be hot, but not right now. 

“Ani”

“Hmm?”

“Can we go somewhere that’s not the parking lot of the corner store? Please”

He lightly chuckled at that and then pulled you around to your passenger door and opened it for you.

“What’re you doing?” 

“I’ll drive us to my place; I imagine it’s much closer than yours.”

“I’m literally like 5 minutes down the road”

“And I’m 2, so who wins?”

“Whatever”

Getting into the passenger seat of your own car felt weird. Never had you EVER let anyone else drive your car, yet here we are with Anakin driving down the road to his apartment. It wasn’t uncomfortable in the slightest, though. Sure, there has always been some sort of tension between you two, but never enough to scare you away. 

Not even 2 whole minutes went by and you guys were already pulling into the parking lot of his apartment.

“You ready?”

There was, however, an excitement in his voice that you were unsure about.

“Yes, ma’am.”

“That’s sir to you, actually.”

“Okay, sir.” 

You had said that with a slight sarcasm and chuckled about it, but Anakin was far from in a laughing mood right now.

“I mean it.”

“Okay, my bad.”

“You’re fine.”

You couldn’t tell if things were fine by the slight annoyance still in his voice, but you brushed it off and got out of the car. He quickly followed suit and came over to grab your hand, leading you along. His apartment was on the second story, but somehow, his apartment was the very top one, so essentially, there is a person below the person who is below him? It's too confusing for you right now.

Anakin fished his keys from his back pocket, his hand just barely trembling. You made him nervous, and now he was bringing you into his space. What the fuck was he thinking?! He wasn’t, well…he was, but you know, definitely not with his brain. Walking in, he quickly flicked on the light to the right to give it some illumination. He had to admire his cleanliness because the look on your face was priceless. You really didn’t expect him to be clean? Heart hurts. Anyways, on to the good stuff.

From what you could see, Anakin was one of the cleanest men you had ever met. The only other man who could possibly be as clean was your father. He had drilled it into you from a young age that a clean space makes for a happy mind.Somehow, that line of his still made it into your daily life, even though he does not. Anyways, the setup of his apartment was cute. He had 2 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a dining room, all with furniture to his liking, and a washer and dryer were tucked away in his hallway closet. Most of the furniture was either dark gray or dark gray-blue. A select few of his things were a pretty gray-purple hue, but only a couple. From this, you could tell he seemed to like the darker colors of the color wheel. In his living room, there was a beautiful rug that looked like a starry night, and on top of that, the gray-blue couch with a coffee table in front of it. Then, in front of the coffee table, there was a large flatscreenmounted to the wall in the perfect spot. It all flowed so well together; mind you, let’s ignore the sheer amount of bongs and dab rigs he had CRUNCHED together under the coffee table.

“Wow.”

“Huh?”

“Wasn’t expecting you to be this clean.”

“Is that a compliment, Angel?”

“Yeah, you're welcome. Anyway, let me just point out to you that your BONGS are being CRUNCHED under the coffee table. Why are you treating them like that?!”

The question, combined with his tone, had you gasping for air because this was just too good.

You still couldn’t contain your laughter. For the last 3 months that Anakin had been at the corner store, there were only a select few times where you had shown up sober. Either way, at this point, you were so down to have a smoke sesh with him.

Anakin was… flabbergasted, to say the least. He couldn’t believe that for the last three months, he had no idea you were a secret smoker. Was he pissed? Absolutely. Why? Because he could’ve had you over here much sooner than this had he known. God. All he knows now is that he has to savor this moment for however long he possibly fucking can.

Anakin headed into the kitchen real quick while you were still recovering from laughing so hard and came back with a lighter and a torch.

Ani walked back to his room, and you decided to take your shoes off and plop down on his couch. It was pretty comfy, no lie. He came back not even a whole minute later with his jar of weed, rolling tray, wraps, and grinder. He sat down next to you, lifted your legs up, and placed them in his lap. You didn’t realize till now, but he had taken his shoes off a long timeago and was now just in his socks, pants, and sweater. God did he look sexy. He turned to you with it and had you hold it in your mouth.

“Here, purse your lips so you don’t get it too wet, not that I mind.”

He said the last part a little quieter, but you still heard him.

Pursing your lips, you now held the blunt in between them, waiting for him to light it.

The familiar flicking sound of the lighter came, and then there was the burn. You had inhaled the moment he set flame to the end of the blunt, knowing it was going to hurt, but you still puffed it quickly. After doing that, Anakin promptly reached over to snatch it from your mouth. Immediately, your coughing fit started, and you felt a hand on your lower back start rubbing soothing circles, and for some reason, it seemed to help. It was Anakin’s hand, of course, and he was not stopping, even though you had stopped coughing a long time ago.

“Hey love, you okay?”

“Yeah I’m good, thanks”

“Okay, is it alright if I try something with you? All you have to do is have your mouth slightly parted and inhale when I tap ya twice, pretty easy. Are you up for it doll?”

“Is it gonna hurt, Ani?”

“No, of course not, Angel, at least it shouldn’t.”

“Okay, let’s do it.”

Anakin watched as you slightly parted your mouth while hitting the blunt. Horrendously seductive that one. He stared and stared real hard, his drag lasting almost 30 seconds. Then he leaned in and grabbed your chin oh so gently and pressed his lips to yours. Tapping you twice, you then followed his instructions and inhaled. Your lungs had felt like there were coalsburning in them at this point, but you just couldn’t get enough of it. His lips were so soft and smooth, you hadn’t noticed earlier, but he also tasted like how he smelled, peppermints and weed.

Anakin pulled away with absolute agony on his part, staring at the obscene amount of saliva connecting the two of your lips just from shotgunning the hit to you, holay. He was losing his marbles. Every single thought that might’ve been rational went out the window, and he dove straight for your lips. His kisses were sloppy and messy at first, then turned into slow, passionate ones with him slowly exploring your mouth with his tongue.

He honestly couldn’t believe what was happening. Every single night he had hoped it would happen and thank the fucking Makers it did. He needed to be inside you, right now that was his tongue in your mouth, and it definitely wasn’t enough.More, so, so, so much more. If he could get this far then indeed he could find ways to slip inside you that wouldn’t be tohard;).

I was wondering through saved vids on tiktok and saw some of your old post and was wondering what you think of Kross now? (Cross x killer) is it still something you ship or otherwise?

I don’t know or remember which post you’re referring to exactly, but generally now I’m mostly indifferent to the ship. Or maybe I just have yet to see an interpretation of the ship that speaks to me or holds me, I suppose. In general, I’ve never been very big into shipping a whole lot.

If we’re talking in regard to their canon characters or canon adjacent, similar to killer and nightmare, I don’t believe these two would experience romantic attraction towards each other.

Of course, at least in Killer’s case, feeling romantic attraction and/or being in love or not isn’t really the same as being in a relationship with someone, I doubt he’s the type to be in romantic relationships or choose his partner(s) based purely on emotions or attraction alone, if at all.

At least not while in Stage 2. More often not, I think he evaluates relationships based on power dynamics and transactions—benefits, especially if mutual. Who is strong and who is not, who has control and who does not.

What does he get it from it, and what does he have to offer in return for what he’s looking for. Is being in that relationship the only way he can get what he thinks he needs. Things like that. I’m not sure if that type of mindset in his potential partner(s) is something Cross would appreciate.

So like, first of all, don’t take TOP’s word on absolutely everything. I know I sound harsh, but T.O.P has an easier time being dishonest in comparison to GD. He has admitted to being sort of a pathological liar in the past, despite the fact that he can be very open during interviews (he really showed his soul in multiple interviews, it's refreshing but also, maybe he tends to overshare?) and GD himself has also complained about it (during an interview, he said something along the lines of "Since TOP is an actor, you never know when he is serious when he is saying something..”) so like, I'd rather look at his actions. (Btw, here's a cute GD&TOP vid with TOP admitting that he's a pathological liar, even tho here it is jokingly).

His actions are: he literally used the traffic light lyrics from Last Dance during Squid Game again, he ad libbed Big Bang and GD&TOP dance moves, how Gyeong-Su (who was his biggest fan) was the one betrayed by T.O.P (could be the betrayal he feels towards treating his fans, in his eyes, horribly) and how Min-Su (in my delulu head) could represent Daesung, especially with how he spoke about the character later on. He also references himself, T.O.P, a lot, since he has spoken in the past about the gap between TOP and Seunghyun being to wide, and idk, Squid Game 2 feels like him finally getting a chance to make art again and process his emotions, the way he used to with his art. And to me personally, him having purple hair means a LOT (since the purple heart is the one GD used to represent Seunghyun). And delulu one: the silver ring he wore for his photoshoot might’ve been a couple item, like the one that GD obsessively wore before.

Jiyong cares about Seunghyun. Even in this clip, the mention of T.O.P's exes and T.O.P saying he isn't dating makes GD upset/uncomfortable... Gosh he makes it too obvious which stories are GTOP and which aren't and which are fake (because mind you, these shows are often scripted)). ALSO IF ANYYYY OF YOU HAVE A LINK TO THE FULL VIDEO; SEND. I WANNA OVERANALYSE cuz this is SUCH a golden GTOP interview imho.

I can't imagine GD being bitter for longer than a few days, because across all these years we've seen time and time again that Seunghyun is GD's greatest soft spot. Now to get into a few reasons connected to why I still believe my own words still ring true (and possible reasons for the GTOP likes).

a) They have a history of liking GTOP content. Genuinely, just look into the content Seunghyun and Jiyong have liked and posted even. One of the manips GD posted for T.O.P's birthday was taken from an Insta account that clearly ships them, and so did T.O.P's announcement story from when GD returned from the military. They’ve publicly reminisced and interacted with GTOP content in the past and that's what GD is doing now, again.

b) GD has a history of being expressive on Instagram and through his Instagram likes. There was a time when he didn't have his private Instagram and liked a LOT of queer-coded content. People then proclaimed he liked that content to look "cool" and was pretending for fan service, even tho that's a VERY absurd idea? He then had a public meltdown because of his break up in 2014 and people still believed he did it for "marketing", which, again, is CRAZY? Even tho he apologised for his drunk and depressing behaviour and 2 weeks later (2 WEEKS. Like. That’s an unreasonable amount of time) publicly unfollowed Kiko and made a private account. Even this year, he liked a reel implying he was queer, with a clip of him saying he had a boyfriend during the OOAK tour (and everyone brushed this like off as a joke, as they always do). GD expresses his emotions about as openly as one can as an idol, and it is heartbreaking to me that it is seen as him being fake, and in this case trying to get on Seunghyun's nerves or trying to annoy and bother him. GD was also liking GTOP content in their previous break up of 2013 (except he was probably more drunk while doing it lmao) and liked a T.O.P post (he was tagged, but still, interesting imho) during his public meltdown breakup of 2014 so it is imo his way to cope with being away from Seunghyun.

c) Jiyong posted an OT3 post to celebrate the anniversary of "Still Life". If he really wanted to bother T.O.P and force him into being attached to the Big Bang name, that was the perfect opportunity. Very few people were criticizing GD for his OT4 ways (also, fair warning; GD is KNOWN for being an active netizen, be careful y'all, he sees you) and making the post OT4 would've been what all the fans wanted. He didn't do it tho, because he respected T.O.P's wishes in this matter, and more privately between himself and his fans liked an OT4 post.

d) GD has made T.O.P references in his other concerts during the previous break up era. I shall not be going into all these references (they're pretty abundant, like the ones from his recent concert, and he feels okay liking posts of people pointing the recent references out because he can pretend like it’s a gesture to his bestie) but GD did all this as a grand gesture to T.O.P imho. GD is known (according to multiple people, but I in particular remember Daesung saying this) for being someone who does grand romantic gestures and I can see him doing all these things for T.O.P as a gesture to him. Maybe the likes are a gesture too. Both of them care about details (it’s a big part of their art) and little things that reference each other (like those blue bracelets, and then possibly the green ring, silver ring and the tattoos GD has, ignoring lyrics and stuff)), which is why I conclude this.

e) He wouldn't have released 'IBelongIIU' and 'Take Me' (for which we have pretty good evidence it is linked to T.O.P; he posted an Insta story with 'Take Me (I'm Yours)' written the very moment he was in South Korea again after being away from T.O.P, which is a genuine receipt imho cuz you KNOW he went into his Instagram archives for nostalgia (since he posted a lot of GTOP content over the course of these years ToT)) if GTOP were really over.

f) I know I already referenced the 2013 break up, but I am really getting a sense of deja vu, except the stakes are higher and GD isn't trying to move on as much (imo). GD DID speak to T.O.P, even spent time with him and was alone with him for multiple days, but they still didn't get back together till the ending of his OOAK tour. Despite having spoken to T.O.P, he liked those GTOP edits and exhibited jealous behaviour towards John Lee. Many people think he actually wanted T.O.P to see the things he liked and posted back then because they had spoken and GD felt that T.O.P should know how he felt in some way. And maybe that's his goal again? He sang that one love song he said he wanted to sing for his wedding during Good Day and liked almost every single reel about it (except ones referencing the fact he sang it 2011 as well, but maybe those didn’t reach him? I doubt it, but idk), even a reel that literally said that he was already in love and in a relationship, because he wanted it to reach T.O.P's ears. Honestly, people forget how T.O.P clearly stated he's a 'ghost-like' person and also forget how GD literally said that T.O.P has a hard time staying in touch when he isn't around and just doesn't respond to messages sometimes. Especially if TOP was the one that left, he’ll be practically impossible to reach, and this could be some sort of hope GD has, or his way of expressing his hope for GTOP to TOP.

g) GD wore multiple accessories tied to his relationship with T.O.P, he wouldn't be doing this to "get on T.O.P's nerves", because GD is a sappy and sentimental person and he wouldn't be able to do this to himself. Kwon Jiyong is an emotional person, beyond his GD persona, and I’m sorry I just CANNOT see him be a bitter and fake person, especially when it comes T.O.P.

This rambling brings me to my most important point:

They are NOT as public as they used to be anymore. They are nowhere close to as public as they used to be and we have VERY limited information. And from what I’ve seen, GD is more depressed at T.O.P leaving him than bitter, and just wants him back, as he said in ‘Who You’. I haven’t found a convincing argument against what I believe is true (feel free to send it to me if you do). I am going to use what @deliciouskamepi sent me for this part cuz she said it better (I edited it a biiiiit :))):

"We are not sure, as usual it's just our interpretation of GD (...). He seems to have kept this good health, happiness and content feeling until now so we can interpret it as his relationship with TOP being good for now? Coupling that with all his likes on insta which he made fairly clear during his concert that HE WATCH ALL THE VIDEOS and like them HIMSELF. We really hope that - at the age of wisdom *36* - he doesn't like all these TOP reels like a teenager but with a goal and knowing Top won't be bothered by that." Another thing she wanted me to add: he confirmed that HSH is a Big Bang song, that like shows to us that he doesn’t want to mock TOP, he just wants him back..

Glitch theory???? 😱 hit me!

(x) sjfds putting on my conspiracy theory brain for this, my rambles are under the cut !

no cause like it’s the way that most songs on the ‘all or nothing’ album are a direct reference to dnp (ie moon chair) or to video games in general (ie options menu), but one of the songs that are hard to immediately pin a reference to is ‘static’. and unless it’s a reference to dnp being all *head empty* or like the type of static in some video games (esp during spooky week), there’s also the ALTERNATIVE clown theory which is that static = similar to glitches = glitch theory

and like another song that seems out-of-place is ‘cosmic window’ cause unless i’m just forgetting something, or unless they used that as a general space-themed name (bc they like space or cause of dalien), or unless the producer titled some songs too, my personal headcanon about glitch theory was always that it includes some sort of rift in time between the future and the past, as inspired by phil’s ��spring 2121’ merch. so cosmic window = glitches in time = glitch theory

and i always believed that the spring 2121 merch is connected to glitch somehow, so phil wearing a death and milk shirt in a tiktok last year is also. connecting the dots.

and as mentioned in my original tags, the way that track 1 appeared as ‘cheeky banter’ on some websites, but it was either an error or a glitch(!!), and the real title is supposed to be ‘project x’ which WAS the original codename for dapg, but also project x = secret projects. and that song being the one to glitch out is furthering the glitch-spiracy

AND based on this recent dapg community post, funny how ‘static’ or ‘cosmic window’ or ‘project x / cheeky banter’ aren’t mentioned at all 🧐

and THEN last year in june 2023 when the amazingphilshop had a huge sale that included some merch that was originally thought to be gone (like the glitch hoodie!!), phil tweeted this video saying that there was a glitch(!!) on the website that caused a mistake for the poster weight. and at that time i also said smth along the lines of:

phil saying the word glitch -> the glitch hoodie being part of the sale -> that tv static/glitch effect in his vid when he talked about the sale -> ppl saying his hair is brown* in this vid and his hair was brown in 2019 when the glitch hoodie was created -> here’s how glitch theory is alive and real 

*and now in hindsight, phil’s hair wasn’t fully brown in june 2023 but now it IS brown like how it was when he announced the glitch hoodie so that point is relevant again

The book trailer to my fanfic that I may or may not ever get around to write it. I started writing it ages ago then started over from scratch and well, it’s still a work in progress. Anyways, “28 Month Pirate” / “28 Month Hai Tac” is a platonic Piratalia x F! Viet! Reader or a Hetalia x F! Viet! OC fanfic. For the keywords: Piratalia, Hetalia x Female, Vietnamese Reader or Original Character. The main character can be identified as either Y/N or Thuy. 

Even if the fanfic may never come to life, at least making this movie trailer was fun. Yes, there will be a majority of Pirate! Portugal, Spain, and England. Later on, France and Netherlands and select number of your fave Hetalia characters will show up, including a surprise appearance of someone that you might guess?? Wink wink nudge nudge? 

Technically, Vietnam and reader/Thuy are not Vietnamese since the story takes place during the Le Dynasty and the Dutch maps reads either Tonkin or Cochinechina. Historical things.

this is one of my favourites and an absolute gem for goji drawers imo. it's great for capturing multiple angles of him, half my goji ref folder is screenshots from this vid x) they start going over his model at around 10 min in. (im too lazy to timestamp sorry) i find the textureless greyscale model to be easier to use as ref personally, since there's no colour distraction going on. they also show pictures of the real animals they used as ref for certain areas too which is great imo, it helps a lot with surface detail since quite a bit gets lost when it's lit in a movie scene. and around 25 min they add the textures so you can really see his 'true' colouration too. 33 min mark is great for different angles of his face.

So there’s sth else I noticed related to the Gracie rabbit hole I’ve fallen down that I haven’t mentioned yet bc I feel crazy saying it but I’ve already said a lot of insane stuff lately so fuck it. But before u read this post I do recommend reading this other analysis I wrote as well as this post first bc it’ll make everything make more sense. Ok continuing….

Not long after The Secret of Us was released on June 21, I watched this interview that was uploaded the day the album was released where Gracie texts her fans. One of the first things I noticed was how Gracie suspiciously looks straight at the camera as she makes a typo which I mentioned in the analysis I just linked, but another thing that caught my attention was that one of the fans is named Aimee (3:06 mark in the vid). I thought this was a little strange bc Aimee isn’t really the typical spelling of that name, it’s usually spelled like this instead, Amy. But even more strange was that the day after this interview was uploaded, June 22, Taylor just so happened to play thanK you aIMee as one of the surprise songs in London. What an interesting coincidence!

June 22 was a big deal bc it was Midsummer Day which celebrates daylight. This is likely why Gracie made yellow 💛 the main color of the album and chose to release it on June 21, Midsummer Eve—bc this album is abt a coming out journey (see these posts for more on that: x, x, x, x, x, x, x). And if you look at the text “Aimee” sends, it sounds like sth an artist would ask another artist rather than a typical fan question. Aimee specifically asks abt her creative process which is a very artist thing to do. So basically all that to say I wouldn’t be surprised if Aimee was actually Taylor and this text was also an easter egg for us to find just like the intentional glitches and typos.

If this text was in fact from Taylor, I believe the purpose of it may have been to lead us down the Gracie rabbit hole where we could find endless cross references between Gracie’s music and Taylor’s music. If you watch the music videos for those 3 songs Aimee mentions and listen to the lyrics, they could easily be interpreted as being abt Taylor’s secret relationship w this korner of the internet that is almost like the Hanging Gardens of Babylon bc there’s no tangible proof it ever existed but there is a lot of folklore surrounding it and the story has been passed down and become a myth. “Wonder if you regret the secret of us.” I believe these 3 songs could be from Taylor’s perspective. And to go even further w it (fair warning, this is where we really go off the deep end), I think it’s very possible that not just these songs are abt this secret relationship, but most of Gracie’s songs bc all of them reference each other and have lyrical and visual parallels to each other much like Taylor’s songs (see this post).

Now I want to make it very clear: Gracie is her own person w her own talents outside of Taylor. I don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea or think I’m trying to undermine Gracie’s artistry or give all the credit to Taylor. And I also don’t think this secret relationship was the only inspiration for these songs since it’s very clear Gracie uses her own personal experiences and feelings, and I believe she could be writing abt more than one muse or from more than one person’s perspective in each song, similar to how in hoax Taylor sings abt 3 different relationships simultaneously. I am simply trying to point out the insane amount of parallels between Gracie and Taylor’s music that I think are too abundant to simply chalk up to coincidence. And I’m not saying that my interpretations are for sure the right ones, I could definitely be wrong. It wouldn’t be the first time. This is just a fun clown theory that I think is worth considering.

So going back to those 3 songs in the text—Mess It Up, I know it won’t work, The Bottom—I wanted to do an analysis on them and the mvs bc I think the reason why “Aimee” might’ve been pointing us to those specific songs and mvs is bc they are an important part of this coming out story. Plus the specific symbolism and imagery used in the songs can be cross referenced w pretty much every other song in Gracie’s discography (and w many Taylor songs) making them all connected.

For instance, the main themes in Mess It Up are:

Mess It Up

So as I stated before this song is all abt making the same mistakes over and over and reliving the same day like it’s Groundhog Day. Gracie, the narrator, keeps trying to make things right and apologize to the person she’s hurt, but every time she tries she messes it up which is represented by her dropping the cake repeatedly. But finally at the end of the mv, she is able to get it right and properly apologize. She knocks on someone’s door and they open it which symbolizes this person opening their heart to Gracie and forgiving her. If you go to the 2:12 mark in the mv when the letters and numbers on the fridge fall, you’ll see that they spell out a secret message “Hi (13, 31) Peter Pan - T” (the “I” doubles as a 1, the “3” doubles as an E, and the “L” doubles as an R/r if flipped on its side). Taylor was 31 yrs old when the Mess It Up mv was released on May 6, 2021. Peter Pan is the boy who never grew up. This means that it’s likely the narrator’s inability to grow up that is causing issues in the relationship. This is why the song starts w “Opened two double doors, typical, pretty sure I could grow up.”

“Did I fall out of like when I called you” -> Did I cross a boundary and make things worse when I called you? Boundaries are one of the main themes in I know it won’t work. I believe that Gracie and Taylor could be using “phone calls/texts/letters” as a metaphor for the anon messages and riddles we’ve received over the years. As a result of trying to solve these messages and riddles, kaylors have gotten a ton of hate and many have had to leave the fandom bc the environment is so toxic. This song could be Taylor acknowledging these issues and apologizing for how we’ve been treated.

“'Cause every time I get too close, I just go mess it up” -> It’s possible Taylor has tried many times over the years to properly apologize to us by giving us more cryptic messages containing these apologies, but the problem is that these anon messages and riddles are the main reason why we get bullied so this only makes the issue worse in the end.

“Funny that (Funny that) didn't work (Didn't work), I could be anywhere, I'm on your block” -> I believe this could be related to I Love You, I’m Sorry. “The way life goes, Joyriding down our road, Lay on the horn to prove that it haunts me, (I'm wrong again, wrong again) I love you, I'm sorry.” This song also has the lyrics “I wanna speak in code” which makes me think of the anon messages and queer flagging.

“I keep thinking, maybe if you let me back in, we can make it better, breaking every habit” -> Taylor talks abt breaking bad habits in The Black Dog which I believe represents putting an end to the bearding/lavender haze/red herrings/smokescreen/blowing smoke/not growing up.

It’s very interesting that Gracie uses a birthday cake to apologize. Birthday cakes are a common symbol that shows up in Gracie’s music. They also appear in 21, another apology song, and the Risk mv which is likely abt the mass coming out (see this post). In the All Too Well mv, Sadie’s character receives a birthday cake at the same time that Taylor sings, “But then he watched me watch the front door all night, willin' you to come, And he said, ‘It's supposed to be fun turning 21.’” In both 21 and ATW 10 min version, the older person in the relationship misses their significant other’s 21st birthday which greatly hurts them. These songs could be 2 sides of the same coin from opposite perspectives like dorothea and TTDS. With how many connections there are between Gracie and Taylor’s music, I’m inclined to believe this isn’t a coincidence.

(From the Mean It mv. When the 21 candles are thrown in the box they almost look like a backward "t" and "s")

“If it doesn't go away by the time I turn 30, I made a mistake and I'll tell you I'm sorry, ‘Sorry.’” The narrator is saying once she turns 30 she’ll apologize to the 21 yr old if her feelings haven’t changed by then. This is immediately followed by a “sorry” meaning the narrator has actually already turned 30 yrs old which is another indicator that Gracie is in fact speaking from someone else’s perspective bc Gracie was only 20 at the time of this song’s release in 2020. Plus just a few tracks later in the same album, the narrator says "I miss you, I'm sorry" which she said she wouldn’t say until after she turned 30. Taylor was 30 yrs old when the album minor was released in July 2020 and when 21 was released as a single on Feb 20, 2020. If this song is from Taylor’s perspective at 30 yrs old, then the significant other/ex being 21 indicates it (along w all the other cross-referenceable songs) is likely not abt a literal romantic relationship; rather, the song is an allegory or metaphor. The 21 (acoustic) mv has "I miss you" on the piano and "I'm sorry" in the notebook which indicates that 21 is directly related to I miss you, I'm sorry. The emphasis on birthdays and age in 21 fits well w the Peter Pan metaphor that shows up in many of Gracie’s songs. Even though the narrator is getting physically older, she is not getting metaphorically older. To add even more credibility to this theory, the song minor has the line “Hit me 3-1-0” which could represent both Taylor turning 31 in 2020 and a backwards 13. 13s show up several times in Gracie’s mvs and songs. The Secret of Us is a 13-track album that was released on June 21. Additionally, the first 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 message was sent July 21 and the second to last message, which I’m now pretty certain is abt Gracie’s album TSOU, was sent May 21 (x).

Look at the numbers on the houses ⬇️ Going column-wise there’s 226(1), 226(3) which is a 13 and there’s also ✌️✌️ which Taylor has used a ton for TTPD (Taylor said in Nov 2021 she wanted to try to plan sth 3 yrs in advance); 2267 -> 6+7=13. Adding up 2+2+6+3 also gives u 13 while 2+2+6+1=11=K. And 6+6 from the 2261, 2263 (again going column-wise) is 12 which is 21 backwards. The 13 showing up in the Risk mv just confirms these choices in the Mess It Up mv were completely intentional.

Gracie and Taylor performed I miss you, I’m sorry together at eras which was Taylor’s suggestion since Gracie’s set was canceled that day (x)(x). I just think it’s very interesting that Taylor wore a yellow dress when they sang this song and then a yr later she just so happened to be featured on the title track of Gracie’s very yellow album 💛 which they (allegedly) didn’t start writing until Nov 13 a few months later (x). This indicates that this performance was likely planned ahead of time and not a last minute decision like they said. I think much of the timeline we’ve been given for Gracie and Taylor’s friendship might be a red herring to prevent ppl from figuring out what these songs are really abt. Gracie and Taylor (allegedly) wrote us together on Nov 13, 2023 spontaneously; but Taylor wearing yellow during IMYIS along w the pap walk w the Cassandra handbag, almost burning down the house 🕯️🧯, and and the fact that all this happened on Nov 13, the day Karlie and Taylor met, indicates that us was actually written much earlier and that the Nov 13 story was just a red herring.

I know it won’t work

This song is all abt boundaries. There are different types of boundaries that show up in the mv: A shoreline, a line in the sand, a fence. It’s clear the narrator doesn’t want to end this relationship and put up walls but she believes she has no other choice bc of her circumstances (not being able to grow up -> Peter, closets).

“I left you here, Heard you keep the extra closet empty, In case this year I come back and stay throughout my twenties” -> The narrator knows there’s no guarantee she’ll actually “grow up” and come out of the closet so her ex keeps the closet empty just in case she wants to move back in and stay in the closet.

“What if I won't? How am I supposed to put that gently? And down the road you will love me until you resent me” -> Since these lines directly follow the ones I just mentioned, you might be inclined to think that “What if I won’t?” is the narrator asking “What if I won’t move back in and rekindle our relationship?” BUT I believe the wording was intentionally ambiguous bc that way it could also mean “What if I won’t grow up and leave the closet? Will you eventually come to resent me if I can’t be the hero you want?”

“But it's a lot, All the shine of half a decade fadin', The whole facade seemed to fall apart, it's complicated” -> This perfectly parallels the 11/09/2019 ♠️ message. The narrator is saying her ex is asking a lot of her by wanting her to come out and destroy the facade. I believe decade might’ve been changed to half a decade so as to not make it obvious Gracie is singing from Taylor’s perspective. The “shine” symbolizes the love and support from fans that has come w being such a famous and successful artist. That’s not an easy thing to give up.

“Why won't you try movin' on for once? That might make it easy, I know we cut all the ties, but you're never really leavin'” -> Taylor knows that even if us kaylors walk away from her we will always eventually come back bc we can’t help but be invested and this puts a lot of pressure on Taylor that she doesn’t want.

“I'll open up, I'm thinkin' everythin' you wish I wasn't, The call was tough but you're better off, I'm bein' honest, So, won't you stop holdin' out for me when I don't want it? Just brush me off 'cause I'm your ghost right now, your house is haunted” -> This entire 3rd verse is extremely telling and fits perfectly w the 2019 failed coming out. The call to not come out was tough bc she was conflicted abt it but she thinks she ultimately made the right decision. Taylor is asking us to stop holding out for a coming out bc it’s not what she wants. Of course I don’t think this is how Taylor currently feels bc I think she’s getting ready to burn down the closet but I think this song shows how she felt at one point. I think the ghost imagery is supposed to connect this song w I miss you, I’m sorry and us as well as all the ghost imagery Taylor has used.

The Bottom

This song is abt hitting rock bottom and being worried that you will drag the ppl you love down w you. It’s kind of a more scathing version of Anti-Hero. I think this song could be directly related to the Mess It Up mv. Someone opens up the door to let Gracie in bc she wants to apologize by giving them a cake. But the narrator warns this person that they should keep their guard up bc she will always be doomed to repeat the same mistakes and drag ppl down w her. Since this song is kind of self explanatory, I’ll instead focus on the mv.

The first thing I noticed when watching this mv is the striking similarities to the Bejeweled mv. Both seem to be inspired by Disney movies/fairytales and even the bells during the title card parts sound similar. PLUS 🎃 anon told us to watch out for things that “ring a belle” -> there are bells in both mvs and one also shows up during the burning castle scene at the end and it is literally ringing; and Bejeweled should look and sound familiar if u have watched The Bottom mv; AND Belle is a Disney princess which is another indicator that 🎃 was referring to these mvs (Taylor wears a yellow dress just like Belle at the end of Bejeweled). Gracie said that The Bottom is supposed to be a satirical mv (see description of vid) and this parallels the Bejeweled mv being satire.

Another thing that’s interesting is that The Bottom mv is kind of the opposite of the Bejeweled mv. In The Bottom, Gracie is dragging a body down the stairs and burying it (descending) while in Bejeweled, Taylor is using an elevator to get higher and higher until she reaches the top floor (ascending). Ascending and descending are things that 🫚 emphasized in this message. Ascending and descending are also things a plane does when flying from one place to another -> “I thought the plane was going down how’d you turn it right around” and all the plane imagery lately. I think 🫚 could have been trying to get us to realize that the beginning stages of this coming out plan (the “ascent,” PR stunts w MH and 🏈, red herrings, 2023-early 2024 🛫) aren’t what we should focus on, it’s the end stages of the journey (the “descent,” cracks in the facade, getting louder w queer flagging, mid 2024-Dec 2024(?) 🛬) that are important.

Yellow shows up a few times in this mv, and I think it’s significant that the room in which the murder happens is a bright one w yellow chairs. Yellow is commonly used to symbolize happiness; Taylor and Gracie use this color in a very similar way to represent daylight/sunshine/summer/being out of the closet/not hiding your real self 💛🌼☀️🏝️ So putting these things together, this scene is symbolically similar to the yellow closet in the Lover house where Taylor has had to put away her sunshine and happiness bc she wasn’t able to come out during Lover era. What was supposed to be a joyous celebration ended w death and destruction.

It’s also interesting that throughout the mv, Gracie is dancing and performing (showmanship/PR) while in a literal spotlight. This ties in perfectly w the very last scene where Gracie is smoking a cigarette which represents bearding/red herrings/lavender haze/smokescreen/smoke and mirrors magic/Blowing Smoke/bad habits. In The Black Dog, Taylor uses smoking as an example of a bad habit/self-destructive behavior she is trying to quit.

Lastly, I wanted to leave you w a few things that I think are very interesting and that could tie in w this theory:
