Man I spent like twelve fucking hours playing Mother 3 today. I guess I really wanted to finish it.
Itās just an incredible game. I donāt have any special insight to it. Just that I love it, I love the characters, the world, everything. It is such a uniquely heartbreaking experience but one filled with so much hope and love too. Iāve never seen anything like it and I donāt know if I ever will. This game is consumes me in a way no other game has.
So yeah. Good game.

Although Tazmily has fully recovered their memories and have had one to two full years (depending on when each villager in particular recovered their memories) to work through it, I think it's still really hard for a lot of them. The villagers are doing much better than they were at the initial point of remembering. Whether they allowed the memories to recover naturally or opted to recover them all in one sitting with the Egg of Light, it was extremely hard for people to cope with this rush of memories and all the trauma that came with it.
Even beyond escaping the end of the world and knowing that their families and friends are all dead, the world before Nowhere was a deeply broken one. A lot of Tazmilians probably had experienced some form of trauma even prior to the war breaking out and everything going to hell in a handbasket, and that was trauma they never got to process, let alone the fresher trauma of, again, losing everyone they knew and loved, save for if they made it with you to Nowhere-- and quite a few made it to the White Ship, but then perished there due to illness or injuries, leaving behind single family members to pick up the pieces upon reaching Nowhere.
The one solace the town generally had was knowing that everyone else was dealing with the same thing to some degree. They'd all faced similar traumas and losses, but there was a lot of shame attached to people, which made it harder for many to cope with. Tazmily isn't good at dealing with negative emotions, never was, though a lot of villagers have gotten better about it. But they came from a world that did not value human life at all, let alone someone as an individual, their thoughts, feelings, and desires; people didn't have the tools to process emotions all that well unless they were lucky enough to have a good family or good friends. Even then, it was hard.
So, returning to their horrible memories, ones they were never allowed to process-- or never allowed themselves to process-- was extremely hard. People could at least typically turn to their loved ones, usually spouses, but it wasn't easy to discuss. It still isn't for many of them. The only person people felt comfortable fully venting to most of the time was Leder. Leder was the one who remembered it all for them, and had promised to guide them through this process of recovering their memories. And he did, he kept his promise. Leder is someone who is so easy to talk to, and many turned to him for advice when they didn't know how to process the losses that were now fresh in their minds.
Leder kept a lot of people sane during that hard year. Eventually, the depression, rage, anxiety, guilt, and everything else started to fade. They returned to a more normal life as they finally were allowed to address what was there, to whatever degree that may be. But I think the trauma is going to be hard for them to deal with forever-- understandably so. That shit doesn't leave, especially because it's arguable that most, if not essentially everyone who came to Nowhere on the White Ship likely has some form of PTSD.
People have gotten back to normal, but have they fully processed? Can they think about people in their past without crying or having a meltdown about it? Is every memory not tinged with sadness and pain? I'm not so sure about that. Tazmily's trauma is a work in progress to this day. People try to live in the moment, they've accepted the horrible and strange way they all came together, but it won't ever be the same again. I think they're ultimately better off having learned, however. That is why Leder revealed the truth to them-- because he knew that it was necessary for Tazmily to grow and to learn from their past mistakes more fully.
It wouldn't solve things, but I feel like Tazmily needs one good day where they all allow themselves to speak openly what happened to them, to cry together, to commiserate and understand what connects them all. Tazmily, as Leder said, is the town many of them wished they could've grown up in. Many of them were born into some form of the cycle of abuse, and Tazmily was their ticket out, their one shot at removing that cycle.
A lot of people are uncomfortable reckoning with the sort of people they became during the Pigmask occupation. A lot of them came to cruelty easily, returning to the cycle of cruelty and hatred for the Other that Eagleland and other nations had. That same cruelty many of them had been the victims of. Tazmilians overwhelmingly worked hard to move past that and do better after the cataclysm, and those efforts genuinely paid off. People really, really tried to be better, and Tazmily became kinder again. But I can't imagine, having worked on yourself in that way, suddenly being reminded of the world you came from that acted just like you did, albeit on a much, much larger and harsher scale.
But it must hurt so much, knowing that you senselessly perpetuated the persecution that poisoned the world before. I don't know how many of the villagers have actually thought about that, but if some have-- I could see people like maybe Ollie, Abbot and Abbey, Paul and Lin, so on realizing that-- and being crushed. Even if they themselves had not directly been harsh, even if they only had allowed it to slide, it still hurts.
Recovering the memories of the past has reinvigorated people's need to break the cycles of cruelty, abuse, and hatred, though. I think all of these things can turn into something good, ultimately. Humanity is not inherently evil. The Tazmily villagers are not inherently bad, or cruel, nor are they doomed to be that way forever. They've already proven themselves to be people who can learn, and these hard lessons, the ones of the White Ship and the ones of the Pigmasks, will stay with them. But, God, it'll never be fully solved if people can't allow themselves to be vulnerable and to fully unpack everything they've gone through.
Tazmily is trying so, so hard. And that counts for a lot. They've done a lot of work already, but I don't think most of them have ever felt fully comfortable being vulnerable or open about everything they went through. There's so much potential love and understanding in Tazmily, if only they'd allow themselves to have that. One can only hope they can continue processing and reckoning with the aftermath of all that's happened, and for the better. I think that's deserved.

earthbound old man tier list
S Tier: Doctor Andonuts. idc what anyone says, he is a fascinating bewilderful tragic morally dubious rubiks cube of a character, and if i think about him for longer than 10 seconds i get so emo i wanna dye my hair black and run away into the woods. he is also very funny. i would squash him like putty.
A Tier: Wess. mother 3 wouldn't be mother 3 without Wess and i'm not kidding. i love how he is written as both a terrifying abusive father and also a genuinely wise antifa ally, the duality of humanity or whatever. a bunch of his lines still give me chills to this day. especially [ this one ]
Leder as well. absolute fucking real one. imagine taking a vow of silence for the rest of your life to protect your beloved community, none of whom even can remember the sacrifices you've made for them, singlehandedly bearing a lifetime of unfathomable trauma to spare them theirs. he is atlas with the planet earth on his shoulders. yet another character who turns my brains into spaghetti-os.
B Tier: George is one of the most intriguing characters in the series. Boy, I wish Itoi took the time to actually Write him!!! so many questions, so little canon material, but my imagination does drive me a bit to madness with this guy I fear.
C Tier: the fuck do you mean Geldegarde Monotoli was super wicked evil under Giygas' influence, kidnapped Paula, took over Cartoon New York with sheer capitalist ruthlessness - then as soon as you break the Mani Mani statue he's like -tiny bichon frise sneeze- "ouuugghhh goodness gracious i'm so sorry, i don't know what came over me, i am so harmless and frail and made of pudding also" -little pekingese cough- and Paula is like "don't worry ness š§ he was just a sweet old man all along lol!!!" nvm it's pretty funny actually
Grandpa Alec goes in C Tier too. imo he's well written in chapter 1. his reaction to grief feels really off-kilter in a strangely human & believable way, like?? he is snapping at Lucas and immediately feeling remorse, cracking jokes to try and assure Flint (and himself) everything is ok when it clearly isn't, kooky silly and also unsettling at the same time. i think people forget that he's also a messy clumsy maladjusted grieving dad, just like Flint. but after chapter 1 he kinda falls off, doesn't have much interesting to say or add to the story. i find myself kinda wishing Lucas had a closer relationship to his grandpa implied post-timeskipā¦ oh well.
is Jonel old? his sprite doesn't look ancient but considering his attitude & his adult kids I imagine him to be in his 60's probably. i like that he's a bit of an asshole, and his moment at the prayer sanctuary implies a religious aspect to the village that's super intriguingā¦ iirc he has a line all the way in New Pork where he trash talks Flint for still holding out hope & tryin to find Claus, and it's like?? damn, Jonel, a cunt to the bitter end!! gotta love that.
likewise Mayor Pusher is one of those Tazmily villagers who really highlights how fake & callous some of these people can be. i love the part toward the end of chapter 7 where he blabbers about how much he hates this hick town and he's so eager to leave already, and when he catches Lucas eavesdropping iirc he's rude as ever to him. what a douchebag! no wonder his son is so depressed ā¤ļø
Nippolyte is a benign real one and I like him, even though there's not much to him.
wish Scamp did or said literally anything of note before dying. oh well
D Tier: yeah fuck Mr. Carpainter though. i don't believe for a second he was solely driven to become a cult leader by alien brainwashing alone, dude's gonna be on some MLM shit within a year mark my words
??? Tier: i don't consider Mother 3 Porky an old man, i consider him Very a forever thirteen year old trapped in a sickly grotesque disproportionaltely aging body. but if you do consider him an old man, he's in the stratosphere tier blowing up the moon

No but you're right, the game does a pretty good job at humanizing evil and portraying normal people's capacity of becoming hurtful or violent. And this isn't just about the pigmasks/ porky either, but even much more sympathetic characters are shown easily "slipping" into directly causing or facilitating harm.
Like take the Tazmily villagers themselves, they start off as a close knit community of regular decent people but as soon as they come into contact with modern commodities we can see them being swayed into compliance in real time. In a few years they've become so blind they're happy to ignore the obvious harm the army is causing around them, the destruction of their sense of community, the damage to the forest, the obvious targeting of whoever doesn't agree with the pigmasks (sometimes even actively ostracizing these people themselves). All to keep their comfortable lifestyle intact. The villagers aren't really the bad guys the way the pig masks are, they're just regular civilians, but they become so compliant and blind to the hurt and injustice around them, they've become complicit in them.
Another maybe less obvious example could be Wess, who is absolutely a SHIT abusive ass father but one who does what he does out of a messed up sense of responsibility towards protecting the hummingbird egg. He's very obviously in the wrong, but you can see how he got there, his brand of hurt and violence is quite mundane and down to earth.
Shit in a sense even Flint can fall into this, Flint who certainly is in no way evil, who is definitely portrayed in a sympathetic light, a loving father who only ever means the best for his family. Yet Flint's very human personal failings, his inability to deal with loss and truly be there for his children in a time of need still ends up causing so much hurt and grief its consequences are felt till the very end of the game, and I feel that this too plays into this general theme.
Cause really this is a general theme in the game, the way anybody has the capacity of hurt and violence and compliance and straight up evil, how it's something that's truly not that hard to slip into (this also plays into the opposing theme of kindness w/ Lucas and stuff but that's another story)
That post on here about humanising horrible people like cops and nazis and how it makes you uncomfortable because it forces you to realise that YOU could also be that person if circumstances were different really makes me think abt mother 3 and how shigesato itoi rly seems to understand that.
Like especially the big pigmask general who you would see as any other boss monster and think nothing about beating his ass. It's like no. He LOVES the DCMC to the point where you can distract him with a pamphlet for the band and make him so jealous he forgets to fight you.
It's a pretty funny moment but it's also a theme when you talk to the other pigmasks and realise they're just Dudes. They've been more or less forced into doing this to get a better life sort of like the combine footsoldiers in half life 2 who haven't been augmented yet. (except you don't really meet them on a human level at all. Apart from like. Barney who's a double agent but I digress.)
It's also really easy to hate the big bad pokey/porky because he was already a total bastard in earthbound and he's only gotten worse.
But then you also realise he's a perpetual child who was never allowed to grow up thanks to abuse/circumstances and he took the easy way out by siding with the villain. Never to the point where you excuse his horrible actions but you also understand how he got there.

Mini Fanfic #445: Father (Super Smash Bros Ultimate)
2:21 p.m. Tazmily Village, Flint's House
Lucas: (Happily Sit Next with his father) So, dad, how was everything in the village going along while I was gone?
Flint: (Smiles a Little) Pretty good. There wasn't really anything this village can't handle now that we're doing our part to protect it and ourselves.
Lucas: That's great! I'm really glad you guys are doing so much better nowadays.
Flint: Me too. But what about you, son? How are things going for you in Smash Town lately?
Lucas: Everything has been going great so far. I'm already loving it there already. I made so many new friends, the adults there are all so nice and caring, and I even have a girlfriend too!
Flint: (Raised an Eyebrow in a bit of a Surprise) Really now.
Lucas: (Nodded Happily) Her name is Ashley. She's a Witch in Training, she's so nice and caring, and we spent so much time with each other too. ('Sighs a Bit Dreamingly') I'm really happy to be with someone like her.....
Flint: (Chuckles Lightly) Well, I'll be. My boy actually got himself a Lady-Friend and in love as we speak. One of these days, we just might have ourselves an actual wedding in our hands.
Lucas: (Blushes Bright Red) D-D-Dad!! W-We're still kids!! I-I-I really don't think we're both ready for that responsibility yet!!
Flint: (Starts Laughing Wholeheartedly) Relax, son. I was only messing you is all.
Lucas: (Starts Pouting in Embarrassment) H-Honestly.....
Flint: But in all seriousness though, I am glad you're having a great time in the town. Especially how challenging the tournament itself can be at times.
Lucas: Yeah....But I always do whatever I can to pull through in the end. (Chuckles Lightly) It is a way to man up after all, am I right?
Flint: .............
Lucas: (Starts Frowning in a bit if Worry Once he Noticed his Dad was Getting Silent) Dad?
Flint: Lucas.... There's something I've been meaning to tell you since you got here....
Lucas: Really? W-What is it?
Flint: I would like to apologize to you, son.
Lucas: (Starts Getting Confused) "Apologize"? For what?
Flint: For not being a good enough father to you during those days.....
Lucas: You mean when-
Flint: Yeah.......('Sigh Heavily') Ever since that day of your mother's death, life became.........complicated to say the least. I was angry, depressed, and desperate for vengeance that....I hardly made sure you kids were okay, given that I was locked up after my..... outburst that night....It didn't help that your brother went missing that day....only to find out that he was dead and reincarnated to be that.....(Starts Gritting his Teeth a Little) abomination's working solider this entire time..... ('Sigh') But case in point, I.... haven't been the same person I was back then....But even still....(Turns to Lucas) None of it was an excuse for me to be being a careless father to you, son.
Lucas: Dad............
Flint: I mean it. You were suffering just as much as I was. About losing your own mother and brother. I knew that and yet......I never bother to be there for you when you needed me the most. Even when you were able to save our world, I hardly did anything to make sure you were okay. I practically let you dealt with all of grief and sadness alone. And for that....(Takes off his Hat a Bit Solemnly) I am truly sorry, my son.
'Sound of the Wind Blowing in the Air'
Lucas: ........Dad....(Smiles a bit) It's okay. I don't blame you for anything.
Flint: (Genuinely Surprised) You don't?
Lucas: (Shook his Head) No. I mean, sure.....I was really sad about mom's death that night.....And seeing Claus killing himself right in front of me didn't helped me on the long run....But I never once blame you for not being there for me sooner. You were so sad and heartbroken that....it made perfect sense as to why we were so distant with one another.
Flint: That maybe the case, but like I said before, it doesn't excuse me for not being the father I was suppose to be.
Lucas: I know.....And you're right.....But even still..... I accept your apology. Because no matter what happens....(Smiles Brightly) You're my dad. And I'll always love you.
Flint: (Chuckles Lightly as A Single Tear Fe Down From his Eye) You've really starting to grow up, Lucas.
Lucas: You think so?
Flint: (Simply Nodded) Yep. I don't remember tell you this, but....I just wanted to let you know that....(Smiles Softly Towards his Son) I really am proud of you, my son.
Lucas: (Smiles Softly as He Hugs Flint) Thanks, Dad.
'Twig Break'
Flint: (Noticed the Sound of a Twig Breaking and Someone from a Distance) Hey, Lucas.
Lucas: Hm?
Flint: Don't be alarm, but.... I'm start to notice someone's been watching us from a distance.
Lucas: "A Distance"? (Got up from the Where he was Sitting and Noticed A....Very Familiar Face Nervously Staring at Him and Flint... Behind a Tree) Ashley? I-Is that really you?
Ashley: (Starts Blushing) L-L-Lucas! M-My apologies!... (Nervously Made her way to the Duo) I-I was only checking on you two. Making sure everything is all right and stuff....I didn't mean to cause trouble.....
Lucas: T-There's really no need to apologise, Ashley. Really. In fact....(Smiles Softly at his Girlfriend) It made me really happy that you were worried about our well beings.
Ashley: You.... really mean that?
Lucas: Of course I do. (Gently Holds Both of Ashley's Hands) You always mean well to me.
Ashley: (Starts Smiling a Little) Oh, Lucas.....
???: ('Ahem')
The young couple turns to see Flint patiently stares at them. Which causes Ashley to get nervous again.
Flint: So....you must be Lucas' Girlfriend.... Ashley, right?
Ashley: Y-Y-Yes Sir! I-It's the honestly truth. I-I-I.....I......I LOVE YOUR SON WITH ALL OF MY HEART!!!
'Silence'
Ashley: (Eyes Widened in Horror) (Why on Earth did I say that out loud?! What is Wrong with me?!!)
Flint: (Laughs Wholeheartedly) I can already tell. Lucas told me all about you after all.
Ashley: (Turns to Lucas) Y-You really told your father a-about me?
Lucas: (Happily Nodded) Mmhmm. I wanted to tell him how amazing you really are to me. (Smiles Brightly) Cause I love you too.
Ashley: (Blushes Again) Lucas.....
Flint: Missy....
Ashley: (Turns Back to Flint) Y-Yes sir?
Flint: (Nodded with a Small Smile) I would like to thank you very kindly for taking good care of my son in Smash Town for me.
Ashley: I-It's not a problem at all, sir. (Gently Holds Lucas' Hand) Lucas means a lot to me and I want to do whatever it takes to be there for him.
Lucas: (Smiles Softly) It's the truth. (Gently Squeezes Ashley's Hand) And I would do whatever it takes to be there for her too.
Flint: .......Are you sure you kids aren't ready to get married yet?
Ashley: (Starts Blushing Brightly) M-M-M-Married?!
Lucas: (Blushes As Well) DAD!! We already talked about this!!!
Flint: (Chuckles Lightly) I kid. I kid. Let's all just try and settle down now, yeah?
Lucas: ('Sigh') Yeah...
Ashley: (Nodded While Finally Calming Herself Down) Couldn't agree with you more honestly......
Flint: How about I make you kids some lemonade on the house.
Lucas: (Smiles Softly) Sure.
Ashley: (Smiles a Little) I would like that....
Flint: (Simply Nodded) Great. Then I'll make them right away. (Grab his Hat and Made his Way to the House) I'll be right back.
Lucas/Ashley: 'Kay!
Lucas: (Turns to Ashley) So, Ashley....
Ashley: Hm?
Lucas: How are you liking Tazmily Village so far?
Ashley: (Smiles Softly) Pretty well. The scroll around the town was relaxing and somewhat memorable. Though, it would be lovely if were there with me, my dear.
Lucas: (Chuckles Lightly) Sorry about that. I wanted to see my dad first before I do anything else.
Ashley: (Giggles Softly) I understand, Lucas. Don't worry. Your father seems like a really nice man.
Lucas: He is. He tries his hardest to be the man he wants to be. Even now.
Ashley: I can see that. I'm just happy you two were still able to have a close bond after all this time.
Lucas: (Smiles Sincerely) Me too, Ashley. Me too.
Inside the House....
Flint: (Smiling a Little to Himself) (Lucas....My son.... He's really growing up now, hasn't he? If he keeps this up, one of these days....He might be a even better man than I am right now. Honestly can't wait for that day to come, not gonna lie.)

Lucatora Marriage Headcanons
-As she gets older, Kumatora moves to Tazmily Village to get a well paying office job (anddefinitelynottobeclosertolucasnopenuhuhwhywouldyouthinkthat).
-She gets the idea to marry him when he stays over at her place one night during a storm. They play games, watch a movie, sleep in the same bed, and she wakes up to Lucas making breakfast for her. It was only after he left that Kuma realizes that she wants every day to be like this.
-After picking out a suitable ring, Kuma goes to Flint for his blessing. Flint is a little surprised when she asked him, but he nonetheless obliges.
-Meanwhile, Lucas thinks about whether or not he and Kuma should marry, and asks Flint. Flint wants to keep Kumaās proposal a secret, so he says that Lucas should wait a while.
-Kuma takes Lucas out to a picnic during the night. After flirting, teasing, and more flirting, Kuma asks Lucas to stand up, and pops the question. Lucas says yes about a dozen and a half times. after which Kuma kisses him and princess carries him to her place.
-Kuma refuses to wear a dress for the wedding. She thinks that they are uncomfortable and over-complicated. Off-hand, Lucas mentions that he wonders how she would look in suit. In the end, she wears a black suit and he wears a white one.
-Lucas moves in with Kuma and becomes a househusband, cooking for her and cleaning the house. Kuma canāt get enough of Lucasā face being lit up after she tells him heās done a good job.
-Kuma sometimes comes home with little gifts for Lucas. He responds with āyou shouldnāt haveā, āoh gosh, is this for me?"Ā and "youāre the best, Kuma!ā
-One time, Lucas went to a block party while Kuma was at work. Some of the lessā¦ accepting neighbors passive aggressively accused Lucas of being a t***, being shorter then his wife (and most other women), having a higher pitched voice then most guys, not working and ābeing gay but too afraid to come out.ā Kuma came home to find a melancholy looking Lucas cooking dinner. After much pressing and prodding he finally told her. Kuma wasnāt having any of it, and told Lucas that he has nothing to be ashamed of, that she loves providing for him, and that she couldnāt be happier. The next morning she marched to each of the rude peoplesā houses, yelled their ears off, and dragged them back to apologize.
-ā¦Except for one individual, who crosses paths with the two at a store, muttering someĀ very unkind words to Lucas. They both freeze, and Lucas looks at Kuma with worry.
āLucas. Hold my jacket.ā
The person hears the cracking of knuckles, and turns around to find aĀ R I P P E DĀ Kuma. They dash away with speed they didnāt know they had, making a point to stay clear of Kuma and to not insult Lucas.
-Absolutely no one is permitted to hit on Lucas, figuratively or literally. If Kuma finds out, sheāll be more than happy to show you her new technique, āPK Slam you into the nearest wall.ā
-Lucas never drinks, smokes or even curses. Once, Lucas bumped his elbow on their counter and launched into a flurry of child-friendly swears. Kuma thought it was hilarious and adorable.
-You know those Tumblr posts about noticing a bizarre detail in a movie or late night inquiries and terrible puns? That is Kuma to Lucas, every day.
-One of Kumaās favorite things to do is talk about each otherās day as she strokes Lucasā hair while he lies on her lap.
-Lucas loves to draw!!! He draws stuff from anime, video games, or whatever he feels like. He has an art blog which Kuma mods. She has anon asks turned off, just in case.
-Some nights, Kuma wakes up to find Lucas not in bed, but instead quietly sobbing in the living room. When he sees her, he quickly assures her he is fine before being enveloped in a hug. Thanks to Kuma, these nights have become increasingly rare.
-Lucas listens to classical music. Kuma proudly headbangs to metal. āAnyone who doesnāt think itās the best genre is WRONG and a COWARD. (except you Lucas, you listen to whatever you want, you perfect angel you).
-Kuma is a huge anime/video game nerd. Before the marriage, she had a body pillow of a cute boy, but got rid of it for obvious reasons.
-Kumaās favorite video game series of all time isā¦ Guilty Gear! The perfect mashup of anime and metal! Every time Lucas watches her play it, he is extremely confused at the game and extremely amazed at Kuma.
-Sometimes out of nowhere, Kuma pins Lucas against the wall and says something she knows will turn him into a bushing, stuttering mess. She adores it.
-When Kuma asks him his opinion on something, she does it partly because she cares about it, partly because she thinks itās so adorable when he talks about things heās passionate about.
-Lucas has lost count of the times heās felt a pinch on his rear or has caught Kuma āmirin.
-When heās not getting destroyed by her in multiplayer, Lucas attempts to act as Kumaās voice of reason when she plays solo. Key words being "attempts to.ā
āOkay. There are three Level 90 enemies patrolling the area. You should leave and come back when you-ā
āYou see that raccoon?ā
āā¦Yes?ā
āHeās looking at me weird.Ā He needs to die.ā
āWhat? You canāt be serious-ā
āA WARRIOR NEVER FLEES A FOE!ā
āWAIT, NO! KUMA, NO!ā
āYEEAAAAHHHHH!ā
āā¦ You died and lost all of your loot to kill a raccoon.ā
āYes. And?ā
āThat was completely pointless!ā
āNo it wasnāt. The point was that raccoons shouldnāt look at me weird. I set an example.ā
ā*sigh*, What am I gonna do with you, Kuma.ā
āWell, you could come sit in my lap, for one.ā
āOh!ā¦ umā¦ o-okay.ā
āThatās a good boy.ā
-One Halloween, Kuma and Lucas decided to dress up, because why not? Kuma dressed up as Ragna from Blazblue, and made sure to pick out the most adorable Taokaka costume for Lucas. It was very hard for her to not pick him up and cuddle him like a teddy bear, but she manged to hold out until the end of the night.
-Lucas receives an invite to the Nth Smash Bros. Tournament! Everyone is surprised to see how Lucas has aged, and that his wife tagged along to protect him. That purple dragon is gonna have his head mounted on a wall if he so much as looks at Kumaās precious hubby wrong.
-Another of Kumaās favorite things is to watch Lucas sleep. The little sounds he makes is justā¦uwu. Itās made a million times better when she gets to hold him.
i spent over two hours writing this who cares lucatora is life hahahahahahazzzzzzzzz

Unique Speaks: Thoughts on Chapter 4 of Mother 3
Hello! Iām 2unique4u, a streamer on Twitch. Iāve been streaming my first playthrough of Mother 3 and I wanted to give my thoughts on the chapters of the game as I finish them. If you want to see the VODs of my playthough, hereās a link to all of my past broadcasts in my channel (when my VODsā expiration dates come up, I will come back and edit the link to go to the Collection of my Mother 3 playthrough). These posts arenāt going to be heavily edited and revised, but I thought it would be cool to share my thoughts on the game off-stream. By the way, beware of spoilers for Chapter 4 of Mother 3!
Lucas is finally the protagonist of a chapter! Iāve known that Lucas is the main protagonist of this game because of Super Smash Bros. and my friends, but I was not expecting to go through so much of the plot before I got a chance to play as him. I havenāt really mentioned it much, but I appreciate the pacing of this story. Having a different perspective for every chapter really helps give the player an understanding of whatās going on around this setting that the game has given us. It seems that the past 3 chapters were just a prologue to set up this chapter and probably the rest of the game since there was a time-skip at the beginning of this chapter. This prologue set us up with a good understanding of the main cast of playable characters, the setting of the village and its surrounding areas, and the villains as we got shoved into Chapter 4.Ā
Seeing Tazmily transition from a rural village to some sort of urbanized town was a shocking twist to the chapter. It almost seems like some sort of commentary on transitioning to technology. What was interesting to me was seeing the introduction of money. Before, we were able to get stuff for free, but for the first time in this game, I actually had to go out to Sunshine Forest and beat up some enemies for DP. With this change, it almost feels like the villagers are more selfish. Most of the villagers seem OK with the change, but not the main cast of course.Ā
Lucas learning PSI made combat much easier for me. Having more healing options available to me besides using items was a big help. Seeing Ionia again was...interesting as well, especially when she mentioned that Lucas had a lot of magical power and is able to use PK Love. Those Magypsies will probably be coming back later in the story. Itās pretty interesting to me that the creators of this game were able to get away with a lot in this game considering that itās on the gameboy, like with that scene where Lucas learns PSI. Iām just going to pretend he got dunked into the water. I have nothing against the Magypsiesā appearance at all, but I canāt help but think theyāre one of the reasons why this game hasnāt made it outside of Japan.
This might sound a bit controversial, but I really didnāt like the factory portion. I guess itās a form of commentary on the need for money and a job that comes with a modernized society, but I still feel like it interrupted the flow of the chapter. Seeing the Pigmasks in a more casual atmosphere versus the more tense one we had while interacting with them in previous chapters was somewhat interesting, but still was pretty boring. Considering there was only one boss in this chapter, maybe having a boss around this area couldāve been added some more significance to this bit of the plot.
Club Titiboo itself was an interesting area, too, but I wasnāt a huge fan of how its story was executed. I like how 3 of the people who would make up the party by the end of this chapter ended up being in disguise. I donāt know if thereās any significance behind that, but I just thought it was a nice small detail. The Club itself I guess could be some sort of commentary on adulthood - well as close to adulthood as a Gameboy game can get considering everybodyās drinking soda - since everybody in Lucasā and Boneyās eyes can be viewed as grown-ups here. The segment with the attic was... bland for me. It just felt like Kumatora just made things more convoluted for us when we couldāve just blasted out way past the bouncers and talked the DCMC that way. Having Kumatora join us for this attic segment couldāve been interesting as well since her PSI adds variety to the combat and it couldāve caught her up on levels. When I had a full party by the end of the chapter, Kumatora was quite behind everyone else in levels. And what put the final nail in this boring coffin was the stone-sheet-clippers games at the end of the chapter. It does add some character to the DCMC, which is nice considering we might not see them again, but it can also be viewed as padding.
Overall, I have somewhat mixed feelings for this chapter. It may have brought together a full party for, hopefully, the next chapter, but the middle part of this chapter was slow for me. Maybe Iām just impatient, but Iām hoping weāll dig into the plot more in the next chapter. Thereās still a lot I still donāt know yet like where these Pigmasks came from, what kind of secrets does the Hummingbird Egg hold, whatās with the Magypsies, how is the Egg connected to the Pigmasks, or how are these heroes ultimately going to deal with the Pigmasks. I really do think itās just me being impatient though. These early chapters must certainly be building up for something huge later on.
If you made it to this point, then thank you for reading! I will be trying to post these thoughts a day or two after I finish a chapter on stream. If you want to see me play through the game live or want to see my other streams, click this link and click the follow button!

So I was getting to thinking about Mother 3 and its characterization and a few different topics so this post is probably going to get really convoluted really fast.
##warnings for Abuse, abuse, and more abuse mentions, but also for hallucination and death
First i was thinking about tanetane like always, since that was a huge way to look inside the characters' minds since you get a load of everybody's deepest insecurities.
Theres so much to unpack there!
This is the big place where we see that Kumatora is fully aware that her title of princess is based on absolutely nothing, and that in the end she feels very isolated from everyone else. The magypsies, her only family, are flighty and seemingly immortal and look at humans as silly frivolous creatures who barely start to live by the time death comes to collect them. She's isolated from the rest of Tazmily by being raised by them, and due to her title of princess, and even that title gives her nothing due the rundown, ghost-filled nature of the castle she calls her home.
Duster unfortunately doesnt get much depth added here besides the obvious fear of his abusive father, though I think it's important to take into account how the themes of isolation, loneliness, and abuse are so prevalent in this game. Duster is highly coded as suffering from depression (sleeping all day, hardly showering, seeming to have trouble interacting with others, etc) and its hard to say whether that came into effect naturally or due to the physical and mental abuse his father inflicted on him (causing him to even become disabled with a permanent limp). Unfortunately, even before the colonization of Tazmily by the Pigmask army, he's treated like an outcast by the rest of the village. Whether its because of his father or his awkward manner, hes never taken seriously and everyone appears to laugh off his abuse or believe it was warranted because hes just some awkward, stinky guy who likes cheese and oversleeps.
And then Lucas, which is the most blatantly obvious. The hallucinations he faces are the most jarring and iconic of the game, due to the chord of his family's tragedy being plucked time and time again. However, it still manages to be a complex tragedy, and the way the lines are handled hint at more than meets the eye.
Before we start with sifting through his experience on Tanetane though, I'd like to start with his experiences.... outside of Tanetane.
Lucas grew up in Tazmily, a town of less than a hundred people, who were so tightly knit a person could walk into anothers house at just about any time and theyd be offered company and food and any need that needed to be met would be offered by the community. There was no money, because love was the biggest commodity. Compassion, humanitarianism, genuine kindness. If something bad happens, its felt by everyone. If a person cant provide for themself, then others would provide for them.
However, once the community began being invaded by capitalism and tourists, Tazmily become a much less welcoming place. The sympathy for Lucas's loss turned sour, and he became a burden and even someone to gawk at. He and his father are the ones who wont change, theyre too stuck in the past. Theyre so silly, not assimilating like everyone else. Why cant they just get over it and buy a tv or something. Lucas and Flint didnt just lose their family, but their very roots in the community.
This all ties in to one of the most iconic and offputting lines in the game.
"Everyones waiting for you. Everyone's waiting to throw rocks at you, spit on you, and make your life hell. Who's "everyone"...? Everyone you love."
Its the community, everyone Lucas has ever known have drifted apart from him, leaving him isolated, abandoned, and outright fucking terrified.
Speaking of drifting away! Another one of Lucas's hallucinations involve his father, Flint, who's spent the last 3 years hunting the mountains for his son that everyone knew was dead. Now, its hard to say if Flint actually believed Claus was dead all along, or if he was just too stubborn to come to terms with it, or if there was an alternative reason he was constantly in the mountains.
I personally believe it was for a few different things, but this is simply my interpretation:
1 I believe it helped him personally to clear his head by being alone
2 Isolating himself kept him from having to deal with the thoughts and feelings of the other villagers
3 Well, let me get into the second quote from Tanetane....
"I'm gonna beat you. I'm gonna beat you, boy. Daddy's gonna beat you."
Now, this line can be taken more than one way. One can presume Flint grew physically abusive after the death of his family, or that Lucas was deathly afraid that he was /going to/. I personally prefer the second interpretation because I feel it makes more narrative sense that Flint came close. That something in their relationship sprung lose and Flint snapped at Lucas, probably over the tension of sadness, and it almost became physical. And that is another reason I personally believe he isolated himself to the mountains for so long- to stop himself from ever hurting his only remaining family member. But I feel the memory of that encounter stuck in Lucas's mind as an egging fear that one day Flint would come home and would not stop himself, and that this fear became embodied in his time on Tanetane.
Now that just leaves one other emotion that we havent discussed, but its one that plays a huge and obvious part in Lucas's character. This feeling is guilt, which is shown a thousand times on Tanetane. Pretty much every time Claus appears, he makes comment marring the line between himself and Lucas.
"Let's switch places. Let's switch places. Lucas. Lucas. Let's switch places. You're more... You're more..."
Lucas throughout text appears to be terrified of dying yet feels overwhelmingly that Claus's death was his fault and that he should have been the one to die instead, mostly illustrated in the above quote in which Claus suggests they ''switch places" so that he could be alive again.
Besides this, Lucas also seems to have a loose grasp of his own identity (eg. Looking at himself through the mailbox and looking through the post cards), which may just be chalked up to mushrooms if youre uncreative and dont want to read into things. Really all of this could be chalked up to bad mushrooms for the most part, but its nearly one in the morning and I said what I said. And theres your sign.
Play Mother 3.

A Special Day (Ness x Claus)
"What am I going to do Lucas?"
Lucas rolled his eyes as he watched his brother pace back and forth. Honestly his brother was being ridiculous about this whole situation. The situation in question was that tomorrow was Ness and Claus's 6 month anniversary of them dating and Ness had suggested that they celebrate it. So what was the problem? Well anniversary's meant celebration and with that usually comes with gifts and Claus was not good at that sort of thing.
"Claus, you seriously need to calm down. Ness isn't going to hate you if you slip up or do something wrong." Lucas said hoping to get through to his brother. Whenever Claus got this nervous it was always hard to snap him out of it. The last time he got this nervous was the day he confessed his love to Ness. Yes that's right, Claus was the one who confessed to Ness, much to everyone's surprise. On that day Claus wouldn't eat, was restless, would mumble things to himself and was completely out of reality. However the moment Ness said he loved Claus back all of that magically disappeared.
Claus stopped pacing and stared at Lucas with a serious look on his face. "I know that it's just that I don't want to embarrass myself."
"So what if you embarrass yourself? Remember the accident that happened last week?"
Claus knew exactly what he was talking about. About a week ago he had stayed over at Ness's house for the night and in the morning Ness wanted to be nice and tried to cook him breakfast. Emphasis on tried. Ness had no idea how to cook and he had somehow set the Kitchen on fire. To say the least, Ness's mom was not happy that the Kitchen burned down. Though she didn't yell at Ness she did say that he had to take cooking lessons. It was a good thing that Ness's dad makes a lot of money because the damage cost was high. Ness was so embarrassed that he couldn't even look at Claus for the rest of the day.
"Okay, you got me there. It's just that tomorrow is very important and I don't know how to be romantic, only Ness does. I mean he gives me flowers, chocolate and says cheesy pick up lines. Since it's an anniversary, I need to make sure to give him a gift. Not just any gift, but a special one and I have no idea what to get him."
Lucas nodded his head. "True, you are very dense when it comes to these sort of things."
"Hey I am not dense! I'm just not good at this sort of thing. What about you and Ninten? I don't see either of you two being romantic like Ness. As a matter of fact, you two haven't even got each other a single gift."
"Not all couples are like that Claus. Giving gifts isn't required it just means that they really care. If your really nervous why not ask dad for advice?"
"Are you kidding me? First of all a guy doesn't like all of the things girls do. Second, you know dad doesn't really like Ness because he thinks that I can do better. I mean Ness is a hero who defeated an evil cosmetic alien capable of destroying entire universes and stopped a war at the same time. If that doesn't make him great then I don't know what does. Besides Ness is a lot better then Ninten and dad accepted him right away."
Lucas scowled. "Hey don't talk about my boyfriend like that. Ninten saved the world too you know! Not to mention, you're not perfect either, mister I want to avenge mom, leaves his family behind like a jerk, gets killed and brought back to life by the enemy and brainwashed to help him."
Claus sighed. "I know and I'm sorry. I just don't know what his is fucking problem is with my boyfriend! Why do you think that I moved away from Tazmily Village when I turned 18 and into this spare house that Ness had bought? I mean he said this place was a wreck when he bought it and it must have cost him a lot of money to repair it, but he did it for me."
Lucas frowned. "Actually Claus, I've been lying to you to. I know why dad hates Ness and it's all my fault. I didn't think it would have mattered, but it seemed that it did."
"Why what did you tell him?" Claus asked.
Lucas turned his head away from Claus and sighed. "I told him that Ness and Porky were best friends as kids and even after everything he did Ness couldn't bring himself to hate him. Dad wasn't happy that Ness was friends with a monster and didn't hate him for taking mom away from us."
"Lucas."
Tears started falling from Lucas's eyes. "I'm sorry Claus I shouldn't have said that! Please come back home I'm sure that once dad gets to know how kind he is, he'll change his mind."
"I'm not going back Lucas, not after the mean stuff he said about Ness. Besides, Ness spent a lot of money on this house and I won't throw all of that away."
"What kind of stuff did he say?" Lucas asked.
"I rather not say. Besides I'm happy here and I'm closer to Ness. Look dad needs someone and that person is you." Claus looked at the clock on the wall. "It's almost dinner time, you should get Ness to teleport you back home. I need to go gift shopping anyway." with that said Claus turned around and walked out.
Claus walked around Twoson looking inside all of the stores trying to find the perfect gift for Ness. So far he hasn't found anything yet and if he couldn't then he would simply move on to the next city. "There's got to be something around here that I can get Ness. I wish he would have given me more time to prepare for this day so I would have more time. Well it's a good thing Ness taught me how to use PSI Teleport otherwise this would take me forever. Hmm, Fourside is the largest city in Eagleland, maybe I should try there." He was about to leave when something caught his eye. He immediately ran over and picked it up. "Yes this is perfect, I just need to make a few adjustments and it will be perfect!"
Well today was the day. It was officially the 6 month anniversary since Claus and Ness started dating. To say that Claus wasn't nervous would be a lie. He started walking over to Ness's house ready to start their day together. Upon arriving he noticed that Ness was outside waiting for him.
"Hey Ness."
Ness smiled and walked up to Claus. "Hi Claus, how are you today?" he asked before wrapping his arms around Claus and giving him a quick kiss on the lips.
Claus wrapped his arms around Ness and kissed him back doing it longer then he did. "Fine and you?"
"Never better. So are you ready to celebrate our anniversary?"
Claus nodded his head. "Yep, so what do you want to do first?"
"There's one place of many that I want to show you. Come on it's right nearby." Ness said as he grabbed Claus's metal hand and started running toward Onett.
"Whoa Ness, slow down!" Claus said as he started running in order to keep up with him.
Ness ran until he came across a large fence that had big sign in front of it. On the fence itself were signs that read 'keep out' and 'no entry'. The sign itself simply said 'Giant Step'.
"Uh Ness, are you sure we're allowed here?"
"I am. Now what I want to show you is inside. Come on." Ness said as he walked over and opened the gate.
Claus followed Ness as they started traveling through the cave. After a while of walking they came across a hole in a wall that had light shining through it. When they entered they ended up right back outside on top of the mountain. Claus's eyes widened at what he saw. Right on the ground was a giant footprint that was deep as it was big.
"Welcome to Giant Step the first of the 8 My Sanctuary's. This is one of the places where I absorbed the power of the Earth. I rightfully earned this place and I sometimes come here to relax when I feel stressed."
"Wow Ness, this place is amazing. So wait there are 7 other My Sanctuary's out there?"
Ness nodded his head. "Yep. There's Lilliput Steps, Milky Well, Rainy Circle, Magnet Hill, Pink Cloud, Lumine Hall and Fire Spring. These places are very dear to me. You're the first person I've shown this place to, not even Paula has been here."
"Wow. It's strange, but the moment I entered here I immediately felt relaxed like all of my troubles were washed away."
"That's because of the power this place holds. It heals you while making you feel relaxed. So do you want to see the other 7 locations?"
Claus nodded. "Yeah I would love to see them."
Ness took Claus's hand. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's go!" he said as he once again started running again while dragging Claus with him.
Ness had spent the next hour showing Claus all of the other My Sanctuary locations. The one that interested Claus the most was Rainy Circle. The place that was raining that was magically coming out of nowhere. After visiting Fire Spring the two of them went to Summers and visited the beach where they started relaxing on a beach chair.
"Hey Claus, can I ask you something?" Ness asked as he was laying on the beach chair with his head on Claus's chest.
Claus smiled as he bent his head down to kiss Ness's forehead. "Yes, what is it?"
"Did something happen between you and Lucas? Because when he came to me to take him home he seemed really sad."
Claus's smiled faded as he sighed. "He tried to get me to come back to Tazmily Village."
"Oh, you're not going back are you?"
Claus rolled his eyes. "Fuck no. After those mean things my father said to you there's no way in hell I'm ever going back there. Also I found out why my dad hates you so much."
"Really? So why does he hate me so much?"
"Lucas told him about you and Porky being friends and you unable to bring yourself to hate him for everything he's done."
"Why would Lucas tell him knowing full well how your father feels about him?"
"He didn't think that dad would take his anger out on you. But let's not think about him, let's focus on us."
"Alright. So are you ready to go back or do you want to stay here longer?" Ness asked.
"I like relaxing here with you so let's relax here until it's dinner time. Your mother is making dinner right?"
Ness nodded. "Yeah, but before that I got a gift for you. I actually have it in my backpack." he said as he patted his backpack that was right beside them.
"Well my gift is back at my place. We'll open them together."
Ness smiled. "Of course. For now let's just take a quick nap." he said as he closed his eyes.
"Sure thing." Claus said as he closed his eyes as well.
After a couple hours of sleeping the two of them started to head back to Claus's house. Upon arriving Claus began to get nervous again. He started to worry if the gift he got Ness was even good at all. What if Ness didn't want it? Or perhaps didn't like it? Claus shook his head. No he couldn't think like that. He was certain that Ness would love it. After all it did take him hours to modify it himself. Upon entering the house Claus walked over to his bed and picked up the gift that was sitting on it before walking over to Ness who was pulling his gift for Claus out of his backpack.
Ness handed Claus his present while Claus handed Ness his.
"Are you ready?" Ness asked.
Claus nodded his head. "Sure am." with that said both of them started unwrapping each others gifts.
Ness was the first to open his. Inside was a new hat that was exactly like his old one except that sewed on the front of the cap was a heart with N+C in the middle of it. "Aw thanks Claus." Ness said as he placed the cap on his head.
"Well I figured that since your old one got burned in the Kitchen fire I thought you could use a new one. It's the same as your old one, but I just sewed the first letter of our names on it."
"Yeah, that's the last time I use my hat as a fan to try to put a fire out. I really do love it Claus."
"Well I'm glad that you do."
When Claus opened his gift inside was a Sunflower necklace with a picture of him and Ness in the middle of it.
"I know that you love Sunflowers so I got one and placed a picture of us inside of it. I hope it's not to girly."
Claus shook his head as he placed it around his neck. "It's perfect. Thank you so much Ness." he said before grabbing Ness and pulling him in for a kiss.
"Your welcome." Ness said before kissing him back.

i wanna say something profound about Mother 3 since it's Mother 3 Day and all but i got nothing so i'm simply going 2 say that i still love Mother 3 so much, more than any other game to this day. i have a lot of affection for the Mother series since i spent over five years with it as my special interest, which is still CRAZY like i can't believe it lasted that long, but perhaps it attests to the sheer possibilities of the worlds and the characters. i owe Mother a lot for my writing, because it's where i got really, really back into creative writing outside of rp. of course i've said many times that ACOH was important development for me as a writer, but in general i feel like my writing drastically improved around the time i got into Mother.
also god bless the Tazmily villagers, bcs i feel like me getting invested in an entire like. fictional town of about 63 people (or something around that number) meant i had to get really good at characterizing a wide array of characters n fleshing out a world and whatnot. i still love them so much lol. without me being obsessed with them and with the Mother series i don't think i'd ever have written a novel-- at least not so soon-- or become as confident as i am as a writer. Mother is the gift that keeps on giving, i guess.
#psy's no punctuation posts#mother tag#also for those who are just joining me after i got in Ace Attorney: yes my favorite characters used to be an entire town KRK#i still love them a lot they r so special 2 me

obligatory yuty for the ask!!! but also if you dont want to only talk abt yuty then Ummm fulbright:3 or both even if youre feeling fancy...
Send me a character and Iāll list:
I already got one for Yuty, but thank you! So Fulbright it is.
Favorite thing about them: His pure of heart, dumb of ass nature... idk! I just feel like his bombastic, friendly personality is so lovable. I was invested in him from the second I met him! He just leaves such an impact with his silly but earnest personality. I love how determined he is, how he's got these big emotions and how much he believes in Blackquill and isn't scared of him one bit even though everyone else is because he sees Blackquill's raw potential. Waaaa. It's nice. Least favorite thing about them: Beyond him tasing Blackquill, um. What they did to his character by having him get murdered off-screen before the game starts lol. I think the way they did the Phantom twist was incredibly lame and I've talked extensively about it before so I'll spare y'all and just link the posts where I've bitched about it instead. 1 | 2
I haven't thought about it in a while so my opinions may have changed a bit idk just read these KRKFNM Second post isn't mine but I did leave a fucking tag essay so there's that. I do plan on replaying Dual Destinies soon to see what I feel about the game after knowing everything I do now, though. Favorite line: idk if it's a favorite line exactly but my favorite moment with him is in Turnabout Academy where he pops out of the art room window and is like "oh it's y'all!! in justice we trust!!" and helps out Athena and Apollo while Athena excitedly greets him n Klav and Apollo are like ??? It's so cute. brOTP: Ummm him with Ema is pretty fun! I want all the detectives to be buddies, and I think that Ema would originally be so pissed off and annoyed by him, but come to appreciate his earnestness and kindness. I think once she cools off and becomes a proper forensic detective she'd mellow out and be much more open to befriending people she works with. I think they'd get along very well. I also like the headcanons where Bobby really looks up to Gumshoe, so I like their dynamic too.
I also think him and Yuty would be fun. I think Nahyuta would be annoyed by Fulbright at first like Ema, though. But Fulbright probably fills a similar environmental niche to Datz, so I think Nahyuta could deal with him eventually. I imagined this scenario (admittedly in a shippy sense-- I think Madhibright is a funny ship and kinda cute, but I don't actually ship it anymore, they're just pals) where they meet post-SOJ and thought it'd be fun. Here's that post I made. OTP: Blackbright, I guess! IDK, I don't ship as much for him as I used to, but this is still my number one. I LOVE their dynamic in DD, I love the possibilities of what a dynamic could be like post-DD had he lived, so on. They're definitely Together but it might be kind of an unlabeled grey area friendship gay thing too. I don't know KRKF but I like them a lot! It's fun. I think they're very cute. nOTP: I dunno. Who are they gonna ship him with if not Blackquill? The Phantom? I've seen cute stuff with the Phantom and him as buddies that I find interesting. I wouldn't call romantically shipping them a NOTP, it's just vaguely weird but I don't really care at all. So, none I guess. Random headcanon: He's from the South and has a Southern accent!!! I love giving characters I like Southern accents it's kind of a thing I do if I have an excuse to, lol. It's why like half the Tazmily villagers were written with accents during my Mother 3 fanfic days. I think it suits him, idk why. It's better than the goofy ass voice they gave him in DD š Unpopular opinion: idk. I don't know what people think about him, aside from him being another character the AA subreddit will try to convince you just absolutely sucks. Aside from, like, I don't know, I think it's a bit off sometimes if AUs where Bobby lives that people try to put all the blame for shitty behavior towards Blackquill on the Phantom. I get why, but I think sometimes it's worth examining how his position of power could be harmful to Blackquill regardless of his pure intentions or whatever. He's a cop, after all.
I know some people are uncomfortable with the ethics of a ship with Blackquill while he's still in prison (which is why some folks will specifically only interpret Blackbright as a post-DD thing) but I'm also like. idk I think THAT'S worth examining too! By people smarter than me. I'm not doing it KRKF I just find their dynamics interesting, warts and all.
I get it, though. Sometimes you just don't wanna fucking get into it SDJN but yeah! Song I associate with them: Never Ever Getting Rid of Me from Waitress. Quintessential Blackbright song Favorite picture of them: This pose is my fave everrr it's adorable.
though I also like the one official art where he's crying looking at Blackquill. ok gay ass

humbly pitching in bronson for the meme
Send me a character and I will tell you my:
First impression: I wish I could remember, honestly. I don't remember what I thought about a lot of the characters, including main characters really, when I first started. If I had to guess, I didn't think much of him-- not that I disliked him, though. He always seemed like a nice guy with an occasional case of foot in mouth disease, though I look back more kindly upon that line in ch1 knowing that was originally meant for Jonel. (Though in general, I don't really blame Bronson, he had no idea what to do and was probably panicking)
Impression now: He's not one of the ones I focus on a lot but I do really like him! I appreciate that he's a character who moves onto modern life but stays a really decent guy. He's always in your corner and I love that. Bronson really seems like one of the chillest villagers overall. Never has a bad thing to say, good-natured, and loyal. He clearly feels a lot of love for his community and cares about people deeply. I should think about him more.
Favorite moment: There aren't many in the game, so... I don't know, I like the scene after the funeral in chapter 1 where he doesn't even really say much because he knows what Flint is thinking and that nothing he'll say will change Flint's mind. Like you can tell that he sympathizes with Flint so deeply then that he aids Flint, yet you can also tell he feels like he has no choice and it makes him so, so uncomfortable. All he can do is warn Flint to be careful about what he does. It's good shit.
Idea for a story: I like the idea of Claus befriending Bronson post-M3. Like, my Claus has a lot of unresolved anger/emotional issues, and frankly, the kid could use an outlet for coping with it. Bronson could take Claus under his wing and teach him some blacksmithing so Claus has a positive, creative outlet. Something nice for him to focus on and get good at. Claus also needs some good, positive male role models in his life. Flint is there, but it's complicated, and I think Bronson's kindness and patience would suit Claus well. So just them bonding over an activity Claus gets good at and Bronson is so, so proud of this kid.
Unpopular opinion: Are there Opinions about Bronson in general? I don't think so. But I don't think he's an asshole for how he handled Hinawa's death. Like I said, he was probably panicking and he's never dealt with this before, so he fumbled it. What people could really say they handled announcing someone's death well, y'know? Like yeah he could've done wayyy better but I don't blame him. To me, part of the tragedy of Tazmily is just how utterly clueless people are to the harshness of the world at the start.
Favorite relationship: I think his friendship with Flint is a great, if underutilized, element in Mother 3. I feel like there's parts of it that must have been cut from earlier drafts, albeit nothing huge. I know he was supposed to be a temporary partner at some point, and so that indicates he had a slightly larger role that was diminished a little in the final product. But he's still loyal, still asks how Flint is doing, cares about this guy even though they probably haven't spoken in months. Bronson doesn't give up on people. I don't know if Flint realized that there were people out there who still supported him to the end-- or if he cared in his kind of descent into obsession-- but I think it's important.
Side bar, I also like the idea of Bronson and Jackie because of that one cutscene where they talk in chapter 4. I'm always a sucker for outgoing/friendly and quiet/shy friendship dynamics. It's a bit of an odd couple thing with Jackie being pretty judgmental, but I think Bronson could reel that in. Kind of a neat potential relationship there.
Favorite headcanon: I used to have this headcanon that Claus loses his prosthetic arm due to some roleplay stuff I did years back, and although that canon doesn't really exist anymore, I still like the idea of Bronson creating prosthetics and adaptive devices for Claus so he can do different tasks. Hell, it could even be some of the stuff Claus learns to make with him, too. It's just a nice idea.
#twothpaste#asks#Psy's replies#mother tag#thank you for sending!!! i love Bronson he's underrated as hell

The final two chapters of my Mother 3 fic, A Change of Heart, are up!
Chapter 18: Lighter
READ HERE
Characters: Lighter | Caroline | Flint | Fuel | Angie | a whole lot of others playing bit parts Words: 8,724 Warnings for this chapter: N/A Summary: Lighter and Caroline finally tie the knot. Notes: Today is a double update since the next chapter is our final one. Don't forget to check out the last chapter, which should be up, when you've finished this one.
As always, thanks for reading.
Chapter 19: Leder
READ HERE
Characters: Leder | Wess | Hinawa | Flint Words: 8,619 Warnings for this chapter: Discussions of death Summary: Leder reflects on the past twenty years and the changes that have occurred in Tazmily since he revealed the truth. Notes: This is it. This is the final chapter of A Change of Heart. When I started this project five months ago, I wasn't sure if I was going to finish it. It wasn't that I didn't want to, just that I knew myself. I never finish projects I start. It's why I hadn't written a multi-chapter fic since I was 14. I DID have one short multi-chapter fic, Death Comes for Good Sons, that I wrote earlier this year, but that was a much simpler task. I didn't even intend for it to be multiple chapters. It was conceived as another one-shot, but it swelled to 19,000 words, and suddenly, I figured it was best to split it up.
In any case, that fic, as well as a 17,000 word novella I had to write for my college honors thesis, were the only two long-term writing projects I had completed since I was 14 years-old. I wrote plenty since I was 14, of course. I roleplayed a lot and wrote lots of one-shots. But I never touched multi-chapters anymore, because I rarely, if ever, finished them when I wrote them. I was discouraged by that knowledge. Up until now, the only multi-chap works I ever finished were very short.
This fic idea came to mind when I replayed Mother 3 for what must have been at least the fifth time back in June. I had liked a couple of the villagers, but didn't think much of them, like most people. But in chapter 3, I noticed that endearing line from Paul when he said he didn't want a Happy Box because happiness was standing right behind him. I thought his love for his wife was so adorable, and I rapidly grew to like him quite a bit. Then, all of the sudden, I notice I like Bob. And I notice I like Abbot, and Abbey, and Ed, and everyone else in town. Once I became open to liking Paul, it kind of made me realize just how terrific these characters truly were.
They were lovable, funny, and complex, far more than they ever seemed before. I feel like people so often write off the villagers as all being cruel or irredeemable, but I think a vast majority of them are good people, with few exceptions. I don't think they deserve the fans' scorn. Many were still kind, and even if they weren'tā¦ isn't Mother 3 about forgiveness? About hoping for something better? Couldn't these villagers learn to be better with their lives spared and learn to live harmoniously with each other and with the people they so unkindly scorned before? I certainly think so. But I digress.
I started imagining a few different scenarios, as I always daydream about the characters I like at length. The first idea I had, one I had conceived of even before I came to love the villagers as I do, was Pusher and Ollie's tale. But then it expanded. Then I thought about that scene of Elmore and Pusher arguing in the bar about whether they should tell Ollie about what happened. Then I thought about Bob and Donna divorcing. Little by little, each piece came together, and suddenly, I realizedā¦ I could write this all. I could make these daydreams a reality.
I went out on a limb and decided to jot down all my ideas. Not all the ideas made it in, and had I not cut some, the chapter count probably would have been about 22-24 if I had to guess. But most of them did. I was nervous going in, wondering if something would come along to end my interest in this fic. My motivation to write stuff like this is directly tied to my autism and whatever my special interest is. Mother has been my SI for over 4 years, and the Tazmily villagers are the new focus of my SI currently. If I lost focus, or focused on something else, it'd probably be all over. But each week, I wrote a chapter without fail. I held myself to it.
I had never worked so consistently before in my entire life. ACOH feels like it's a once-in-a-lifetime writing project for me, though I hope I'll be able to keep writing much more consistently than I ever used to before. I apologize for all this talk, but this project has been extremely important and special to me. I am so proud of myself for finishing this project, and I am proud of what I've written. I proved to myself that I could do something like this if I tried. Writing is my passion. I have always wanted to write a novel. If this is an indication of where I can go, then I'm excited to keep writing.
Lastly, THANK YOU to everyone who commented, who left kudos, and who gave this weird, niche little fic a chance. I noticed every time somebody commented, whether new or returning, and I was so grateful to see people respond well to this fic. I am so grateful for people's kindness and for reading this fic. I wrote this fic for myself. That remains true. But seeing others like it still means a lot to me. Thank you all for that. I hope to be back with more fics at a later date, but who knows when something will come to me.
As it stands, this is it. This is the final chapter of my fic. No real warnings apply, save for some discussion of death.
For the final time, as always, thank you for reading.

Actually, you know what, here. Here's what I love about every single villager. Not doing the main characters aside from Flint because this is STRICTLY about the NPCs for me. From left side of Tazmily to the right:
Nana: I love her design and how she's always a huge outsider in Tazmily, yet it doesn't seem to phase her. She just keeps being herself unabashedly and I love that. I love her bond with Lucas, it's endearing as hell. I love how she notices the strange, little things like Tanetane and how none of the villagers resemble each other. Such a cool little character.
Bob: love how violently and unintentionally autistic-coded he is. Like this isn't me saying all my faves are autistic if you talk to this guy I feel like it's obvious he has autism considering the shit he says. I love that he talks about peaches in multiple chapters because he loves them so much and I love that he's interested in Tazmily mysteries and I love that he's always at the Yado bar and I love that he's always smiling!!!!
Donna: I love that she's another character with depression because it really fleshes out how Tazmily wasn't a utopia to start with. People were still unhappy and finding things lacking in their lives. I love that she loves art! I love that she wants more from life!
Jonel: I love that he's so self-centered! It makes a really interesting dynamic with him and the other characters. He gets worse and worse over time and I love how even his son Bob gets annoyed over the self-centered behavior. I love that he's obsessed with forest gods and the Prayer Sanctuary because it adds lore and depth to Tazmily and the story.
Brenda: I love her design and that's she's fat. She has such an endearing design, she looks so friendly, but I love that one of the sweeter characters become kind of cruel after the timeskip. I love that she, Lisa, and Jill are all besties.
Bateau: I love that Bateau does woodcarving! I think that's a really fun detail to add to him beyond him being the post office guy. I also love that he keeps all the messenger doves in his house until the timeskip, and I'm sad they're gone afterwards.
Reggie: I LOVE the Talking Bones NPC outside his house a lot because it's not the only one, showing that on Nowhere, even the dead remain alive in some ways. I can't actually say anything positive about Reggie, but I do think his presence is incredibly interesting when you look at it as a deliberate choice among the White Ship people, reinforcing racial stereotypes of Natives in their little Western story. I made a post about that elsewhere so I'll spare you.
Caroline: I love that she stays sweet the entire time with Tazmily, even when she decides to get modern with everyone else. She has a great design as well. I love that she has little models of bread and eggs in her house before the timeskip. She really loves baking!
Angie: I love that she says potato-like men are her type, and I like that she goes between bitching about Fuel and maybe having a crush on him. (Sorry, I actually don't have much to say about the kids, like, ever)
Paul: I love that he loves his wife so much! He is so passionate about his wife and his only complaint post-timeskip is they don't spend time together anymore because of her job at the old folks' home. I love that he is such a prolific wife lover that he and Linda have a scrapped sprite of them kissing. I love that he seems to have sensory issues, or at least is very sensitive to certain things. I love that he's helpful to Lucas and minds his own business.
Linda: I love that she seems so level-headed and kind. She has some of the fewest lines among the villagers for whatever reason and it breaks my heart. I love that she's the first person to notice that Fassad might not be great for people like Isaac, warning Fassad not to put any weird ideas in Isaac's head once she notices Isaac is already becoming extremely attached to Fassad because of the Happy Box. I love that she seems so smart and I love that she likes pink so much that she wears pink and Paul and her decorate their pre-timeskip house with pink!
Abbot: I love how him and Abbey collect and tend to plants pre-timeskip! I love that he's a collector of things, probably tying into part of his passion with the plants! I love how he's a little arrogant, I love that he's a little rude but not necessarily intentionally. I love his design, it's one of the best character designs in the entire game. I love that he hates his mining job, showing that villagers aren't actually all that happy with the new world and are using materialism to escape it!
Abbey: I love how sweet she is and how much she loves her husband! I love her enthusiasm for things, being the first to put her hand up for a Happy Box, being excited about these material things, but it showing that her life is empty because women don't have traditional access to the jobs and community in post-timeskip Tazmily, though the men aren't very happy either. I love that she constantly echoes Abbot with her lines in post-timeskip, or that she seems to have a shortened attention span after a while! I love that she wants to go anywhere and everywhere with Abbot! I love her talk sprite, it's one of the best in the game!
Pusher: I love that Pusher is an asshole! I love that Tazmily is filled with people of all varieties instead of everyone being super nice all the time to start with. I love how arrogant he is, how slimy, how much he wants to get in the good graces of people that he'll grovel to anyone he thinks could give him a little more power. I love that he grows to hate Tazmily and wants to leave it. I love that he never thinks of anyone but himself.
Elmore: I love that Elmore grows to be a crueler and crueler person over the course of the timeskip! While she was always kind of cold and arrogant, I love that she showed an ability to be compassionate to Flint and affectionate to Duster! I love that she has that depth, but then gets sucked into the same hateful vortex as Pusher and some of the others. I love that the only time she ever mentions her son Ollie is to discuss how they can use him to get ahead in the political world in New Pork.
Ollie: I love how severely depressed Ollie is, another character showing how unhappy the post-timeskip world can be! I love that they try to keep upbeat despite that, even though their depression is not getting better. But I also love that Ollie never stops being kind, that even despite the unhappiness Ollie still treats Lucas with kindness and respect, and never has a bad thing to say about anybody, including Ionia!
Sebastian: I love how he decides to ditch Pusher's family once they all go to New Pork because he's found a better job. It's so fun after he spent the whole game rushing and worrying about the affairs of this rich family and how he clearly kinda doesn't like it and wants out. I love that he considers himself unimportant when really, it's only because he's MADE himself unimportant. But he's important to me!
Mapson: I love that he seems to live with Pusher's family for some reason? It's so random! Maybe he and Pusher are friends! Who knows! I also love his passion for maps, but also that he wants to be known for things other than his love of maps so he starts talking about how bald Wess is because gossip is a famous Tazmily pastime lol.
Bronson: I love that he's such a great friend to Flint even with how distant they become over the course of the timeskip! I love that he's got an upbeat attitude and he loves his life, but that he doesn't look down on anybody for living differently than him. I love that he's not perfect, and that he breaks the news to Flint in such a rough way (although it was originally planned for Jonel to do this, not Bronson). I love that he's just fuckin cool as hell
Thomas: I do love that he's really immature despite being a whole father of two. I love that he's one of the villagers with negative character development. He was always kinda childish or silly but it became an active negative character trait for him over time and I love that they did that. I also love his walk cycle, it's fuckin class and I love that he just always runs like that.
Mike: I love that he's an indicator of the lack of of connection in Tazmily after the timeskip. His grandkids never visit, he's completely alone at the old folks' home and Lucas saying hi to him means so much he gives Lucas a little spending money. I also think his nasty cookies are really funny and I love that Flint can pressure Mike into giving him multiple cookies in chapter 1.
Lisa: I love that she's part of the little squad of moms in town. I love that she laughs at Fassad's dumb speech. I love that her and Hinawa were best friends before she died, and that Lisa, in the story, was the one to introduce Hinawa and Flint! I love that because it adds fun depth to Hinawa and to the villager interactions.
Nichol: I like that he's jealous that Lucas gets to go to Titiboo. It's clear based on dialogue from the kids that this is really hyped up socially in exchange for a soul-sucking job and I like that he falls for it because he wants to be part of that community.
Richie: I like her design! You can tell I actually have no real opinions on the child characters sorry KRKF
Jackie: I love that he's such a massive coward and so nervous. I love that he goes from apologetic that he isn't helpful to actively hostile to the players in his own spineless way, showing that even he isn't above being cruel if it suits him.
Betsy: another fat woman I love and appreciate. I like that even though Jackie is a coward she still loves him, but she's kind of tough on him for being so nervous, though she's such a sweet person who never has a bad thing to say, even after the timeskip.
Tessie: Lovely design! I love how beloved she is in Tazmily. People seem to really adore her, and I think that's fun. I also like that she's got some attitude, like when Bob won't leave the bar so she can't finish up for the night until he does and she's bitching about it the whole time.
Wess: Love how he can switch between a loving, friendly person to a tyrant to Duster so easily. I love the complexity he has as a character, it really adds to his and Duster's stories. I love that he's consistently underestimated by other characters.
Ed: I love that he's one of the only other villagers who never gets a Happy Box even though Nan and Alle want one. I love that he's always quietly supporting Flint and the others. I love his design, and I love how calm yet capable he is as a person in helping keep rubberneckers out of the fire!
Scamp: I love him. Not much to say on him but I love that he's always been known as a scamp, that he loves his parrot, that he clearly was a total troublemaker when he wasn't bedbound. I love that he passes away, and no one really seems to care except for Ed's family, showing how distant the town is nowadays.
Nan: Love the purple eyeshadow, but my favorite thing about Nan is how much she seems to love Boney! Over the course of the post-timeskip chapters, Nan gets more and more excited to see Boney in particular and I think it's sweet she always takes time to greet him whenever he and Lucas visit.
Alle: I like that she's visibly the youngest kid in Tazmily. It's cute watching her grow up. She also has a great design.
Matt: I love how he tries to be helpful to Flint when the kids and Hinawa are missing and that he brings Flint Boney if Flint neglects to take his dog with him, showing how much he really wanted to help Flint even despite his drunkenness. I love that even he gets aggressive with Lucas at the very end because he's in denial about his own alcoholism and projects onto Lucas over it.
Jill: Love how much she loves her sons, since a lot of the parents don't actually talk about their kids much in the game! She clearly loves them a lot and misses them when they move away to New Pork. I love that although she isn't the nicest post-timeskip, she still tries to look out for Lucas out of instinct.
Biff: I love his design and I love how chill he is! He seems like such a down to earth person who minds his own business, and he's a great foil to Butch because of it. I love the scrapped sprites of him fishing.
Butch: I love how wildly immature he is, and how he jumps to conclusions because of it, but also how cowardly he is when someone stands up to him during his freakout (Kumatora). I love that he and Biff seem to hang out a lot, they're one of the closer sibling sets in Tazmily and it's endearing that they stick together.
Nippolyte: Love this strange little gravedigger who lives alone in the cemetery and how he calmly does his work. It feels like such an expression of affection for the town from a man who clearly doesn't really express himself much emotionally, so all he can do is make good graves for their loved ones and keep the cemetery clean. I love that he tends to crops in Osohe and that he seems to be totally chill with his more isolated life.
Isaac: I LOVE his character arc! He has one of the best side stories in the entire game and it really adds to the story and to his character! I love how lonely he is, how much he struggles to fit in no matter how hard he tries to be a part of his community, and therefore falls into radicalization because Fassad and the Pigmasks reach out to him and manipulate him into joining and supporting them. I love how cruel he becomes because he's found a community that "accepts" him, no matter how shallow it is.
Lighter: I love his sense of humor and his tough attitude and how he isn't afraid to do the right thing or speak his mind. I love how it's clear how much he loves his friends and community yet how individualist he is. I think it's so funny how he keeps rebuilding his house no matter how many times it gets struck by lightning, showing how determined he is.
Fuel: I love him helping with Caroline's bakery, it's so sweet.
Bud and Lou: I love that they're best friends, I love that they do standup together, and I love that they worked with and mooched off of Lighter. I love that although they said they stopped doing standup that they go right back to doing it in chapter 7. I like that Bud has a crush on Tessie since it's fun to see the character interactions in town, also foreshadowing how popular Tessie would become in post-timeskip Tazmily.
Flint: I love this flawed cowboy to death because it shows how good people can do bad things, but that it also doesn't have to define them. I love how much he struggles with his trauma and grief and how tunnel-vision his life becomes because he's desperate to put the family back together, how he'll do anything to make things right for Lucas while unfortunately not really being in Lucas's life as much because he's too obsessed.
Alec: Love his complex expression of grief, swinging from quiet grief to trying to keep the tone light to anger when he finds out the Magifolk and Lucas didn't stop Claus or when Fassad tries to offer him a Happy Box.
Leder: I love Leder for so many reasons it's almost impossible to describe. But I adore that he is this character outside of the story of Tazmily, somebody locked out of the community they've created because he is the one holding the story together. I love that no one seems to know anything about him, and that they're all so swept up in materialism and the new world that hardly anyone notices this so-significant person is gone. I love that he stayed silent to protect the story and to help the others be happy and thrive. I love that the Pigmasks clearly viewed him as a threat. I love how grave yet kind he is. I love his design. I love who he is. I love him because he is my favorite Mother 3 character and he is so special.
y'all could name any Tazmily villager and i could tell you something i liked or at least found interesting about them as a character. i think they're all genuinely excellent characters and i appreciate every single one of them
#psy's no punctuation posts#mother tag#tazmily#this took me a while but HERE YOU GO#every tazmilian... and something i like#i only missed Reggie Nippolyte Alec and Nana on my first go after i checked my villager list#yes i can remember where all of them live and all of their names and just all of them off the top of my head still

Mini Fanfic #410: A Memorial Visit (Super Smash Bros Ultimate)
12:15 p.m. Tazmily Village, The Sunset Cemetery, Hinawa's Resting Place......
Ashley: So this is the place?
Lucas: Yeah.........(Took A Deep Breath) Okay. I'm ready to talk to her now.
Ness: You sure?
Lucas: (Slowly Nodded) I think so. But...um......
Ness/Ashley: Hm?
Lucas: Could you guys....stay right beside me?....S-So I won't be completely alone?....
Ashley: (Gently Holds Lucas' Hand on her side with a Smile) Of course we can, Lucas.
Ness: (Holds Lucas' Other Hand on his side with a Bright Smile) Yeah, man. We never planned on leaving you anyways.
Lucas: (Smiles Softly at his Best Friend and Girlfriend) Thanks, you guys. (Continues Walking Towards his Mother's Grave)
............................................................
Here Lies Hinawa...........Loving Wife and Wonderful Mother of Two Boys.
Lucas: H-Hi, mom. It's been a while since... we've seen each other like this, hasn't it?
*Noting but the Sound of Wind Breezing Through the Air*
Lucas: ('Sigh') Yeah. Well......(Slowly but Surely Got into his Knees to the same level the Grave Stone is Sitting) I remember when me, Claus, and the rest heard about your...death. Seeing dad letting out his frustrations in front of us.....me getting a lot scared and terrified than I used to....Claus running away to find the Mecha Drago only for him to- (Immediately Stop In Mid-Sentence and Begins to Sigh Heavily) I guess what I'm trying to get at here is that.... things weren't easy for any of us since you left that day....Even after we were finally able to stop Porky and his forces to cause any more harm to this world. A lot happened afterwards and....(Starts Smiling a Little) it's actually for the better. The town already started to rebuild itself with Dad, Grandpa, and Boney's help of course, my two friends, Kumatora, Duster, and his dad started go on a lot of Adventures together. And as for myself, well......I actually got myself invited to the Smash Bros Tournament where I'm now moved in to a really huge mansion in this city called Smash Town. I made a lot a great friends there...I-I even got myself a girlfriend too. Her name is Ashley...(Looks Back to Ashley with a Soft Smile) she's really amazing and I love her so much.
Ashley: (Immediately Starts Blushing at her Precious Boyfriend) L-L-Lucas....
Ness: (Chuckles Lightly at Ashley's Bashfulness towards his Best Friend)
Lucas: In fact, all of my friends and family their are amazing and I love each and everyone of them too. (Looks Back at his Mother's Gravestone) I really wish you and Claus could get to meet them one day....But I know the both of you are in a better place now. Where nothing could ever hurt either of you again. And honestly.....I think it's really better that way.
Ness: Hey, Lucas!
Lucas: (Turns to Ness) Yeah?
Ness: (Holding his Phone up with one hand) I just got a call from Peach. She and the others are already starting to miss us. So she wants us back to the Mansion in a few minutes!
Lucas: Okay! (Turns back to his Mother's Gravestone Again) Well....I guess it's time for us to go back to our new home now. B-But before we leave.....(Got out a Freshly Bloomed Sunflower out of his Bag) I picked this out for you. I'm sure I'll be back to bring you a new one whenever it dies out and when i visit here again. (Got up from the Ground and Looks Down on the Gravestone) I know things are going to difficult in the long run, but as long as I still have all the people here in my life.....I think I'm gonna do just fine in this world going forward. I promise I'll do whatever I can to make you guys proud. But until then..... (Smiles Brightly) I'll see you and Claus real soon. (Gives One Sincere Nodded toward the Gravestone Before Walking Away with his two Companions)
...............................................................
Lucas: (Walking Away from the Cemetery with Ness and Ashley) Thanks again for coming here with me, you guys. It really means a lot.
Ness: (Smiles Softly) There's really no need to thank us here, bud.
Ashley: (Smiles Softly) We told we're going to be here for you no matter what. Because you mean a lot us.
Lucas: (Heart Begins to Melt) You guys.....
Ness: Hey, so.....You guys wanna go buy some souvenirs for our moms from here?
Ashley: (Shrugged) We were able to bring some money we saved before we left the mansion. So I don't see why not.
Lucas: (Smiles Brightly) I'd like that. It's the least we can do for not attending their party.....Hey, Ness, Ashley....
Ness: Yeah, bud?
Lucas: (Pulls two of his Companions in for a Group Hug as they Continue Walking Together) I love you guys.
Ashley: (Lay her Head on Lucas' Shoulder) We love you too, Lucas.
Bonus
Hinawa: (Watches her son Happily Walking Away from a Distance) Are you seeing this, Claus? Your brother has grown up so much.
Claus: (Smiles Brightly) I know, right? Him and dad been through a lot together.... I'm glad they're doing better now.
Hinawa: Me too, sweetie....(Tears Fell Down her Eyes) I do miss them, though.
Claus: (Gently Holds his Mother's Hand) I do too, mom. But as long as they have the will to keep living, I think they're going to keep doing just fine without us.
Hinawa: Yeah.....(Smiles Sincerely) I believe you're absolutely right, dear.
