deliveries
words: 1.2k
warnings: ex!rafe, reconciliation, kinda sugar daddy rafe but he just likes taking care of his girl mhm iktr
“can i say no?” you sigh.
“say no? did you not place this delivery?” the man raises his eyebrows.
“i didn't. my- my ex did.”
“well, i have to deliver it, ma’am, but i don't care what you do with it afterwards. give it to your friends or throw it out.” the man sets the bags of food at your doorstep, snapping a picture before walking off.
you can't blame him, plus it's probably a situation he's never encountered before.
you sigh as you pick up the bags, carrying them into the kitchen counter. packages, deliveries and letters have been showing up on your doorstep for two weeks, ever since you broke up with rafe.
you're sick of it at this point. as you go through the food, picking out something to eat for dinner (you're not just gonna let it go to waste!) you grab your phone and unblock rafes number.
you wonder how long it will take him to realize as you sit at your desk and eat. you're in an apartment complex with pretty tight security, it's the only reason why rafe isn't knocking at your door himself, instead sending whoever he can to get a message to you, while simultaneously making sure you have plenty of food to eat and things to take care of yourself with.
you answer your phone after the first ring. you deleted his contact, but rafes number is forever memorized in your head.
“stop sending me things.”
“baby, its a relief to hear your voice again.” rafe sighs, sounding genuinely happy, like a weight is suddenly off his chest. “please, let me just talk to you. i miss you so much.”
“no, rafe. we broke up. you need to stop.”
“why'd you break up with me? what did you tell me princess?” rafe questions. “i wasn't giving you enough attention. now im giving you everything. please, y/n.” he pleads. “im not going to stop.”
you take a deep sigh. you really love rafe, despite your relationship being only six months old when you broke up with him, it was just too much. too much attention from your friends and too much pressure from his family. it pushed your relationship farther apart until rafe barely paid attention to you, receiving constant questions from his dad and friends.
“you have to, rafe. clearly things weren't working out. we tried. we can say that. gave it a fair shot.”
“im not done trying. yes, i let my family and other people get into my head about our relationship, but im done with that bullshit. i want you back.”
“let me think about it, okay?” it's an olive branch. the best thing that you can extend right now.
“okay.” rafe agrees. “how about i call you friday?”
you glance at the calendar hanging over your desk. two days. two days to think. you're not sure it's enough or too much.
“that works… but rafe, stop sending me stuff.”
“i can't, baby.” you can practically see the way he's shaking his head right now. “gotta take care of my girl, even if you don't wanna see me.”
“fine.” you groan. you know there's no talking rafe out of it. “order me some lemonade next time then.”
--
you yawn as you wake up with a big stretch, instinctively reaching over to the other side of the bed. your hand pats the sheets before remembering that you left rafe.
you slide out of bed, heading towards your kitchen to get something for breakfast when a knock on your door interrupts you.
“one second!” you're in pajamas, but they're far too small and tight to answer the door in. you rush back into your bedroom and pull a robe on to cover up.
“hi!” the delivery woman smiles. “y/n?”
“yup.” you nod, stepping to the side. “do you mind just setting it down on the counter?”
the woman places the bags down before saying goodbye and seeing herself out. you sigh and look into the bags, eyes bulging when you see velvet boxes carefully placed inside one of them.
you pull out one of the boxes, gasping when a beautiful diamond necklace is revealed. you continue to open them, realizing rafe bought you jewelry of almost every variety.
“oh, gosh.” you grab a note, opening it to see his handwriting.
it's just what you deserve. i love you and want you back. can't wait to talk to you tomorrow.
rafe
p.s. i paid your rent for the next three months
you grab your phone before even looking in the other bag, dialing rafes number. he picks up almost instantly.
“you know you can't buy my love, right?”
“im not trying to.” rafe says. “im just trying to take care of you. did you get the breakfast?”
you peek into the other bag, seeing a stack of delicious looking pancakes inside a clear container, as well as some other options.
“yeah, ill eat it in a minute.”
“good.” you can practically hear rafes smile over the phone.
“how about we meet up in person to talk tomorrow instead of on the phone?”
“ill go wherever you want.”
“our first date.” is all you say before hanging up, grabbing the pancakes and container holding scrambled eggs.
--
you're aware you didn't say what time as you pull up to the pier. it's a warm day, sunny with almost no clouds in the sky, but a light breeze gives you the perfect amount of cooling.
you walk down the pier, unable to hold back your smile when you see rafe sitting on the bench where you ate ice cream on your first date after finally agreeing to let him take you out.
rafe watches you carefully as you sit down next to him.
“you're wearing the necklace i got you.” he smiles, seeing the gold chain around your neck.
“i am.” you nod.
“can i… can i hug you? ive missed you so much baby.”
you nod again, not sure you can find your voice as rafes arms wrap around your body, holding you into his side. you snuggle into his chest, eyes sliding shut.
“love you so much.” rafe says, pressing kisses to the top of your head. “so much i messed up the first time not trying to be too obsessed. i just didn't want to make you run away, turns out i did the exact opposite and you felt ignored. you know how my dad is…” rafe trails off as you pick your head up to look at him.
“we shouldn't have let others get between us.” you know you're not innocent in it either, contributing just as much to rafe to the tension that had grown between the two of you.
“and we won't let it happen again now that we know.” rafe says, a promising look in his eyes. you swear it looks like he might cry as you nod.
he ducks his head, pressing your lips together in a sweet kiss. you fist your hands in his shirt, keeping him close as you kiss back, having missed his lips on yours more than you'd like to admit.
“does this mean you'll tell security im allowed back in?” rafe laughs gently, cupping your face, his thumb gently stroking over your cheek.
“hmm, i guess.” you giggle.

Loving Yoongi was like a field of cotton grass dancing with the wild wind on a fresh late spring day. But being in a relationship with him, much like any other relationship out there, wasn't always a bed of soft petals and a sky of warm sunshine.
“I'm sorry, darling. I have to stay here for another two hours. You can still come over if you want.” That was what he said over the phone, one day, when you asked whether he was free for a dinner date or not. It's been a hectic week for the both of you, two adults trapped in the hectic mess of what we call life. An unsettling bubble formed in your chest. You missed him, so, terribly much. The days went on, and it became harder for you to sit down with him for a genuine conversation or a wholesome meal. The mere thought that your relationship was heading towards one of those bland and colorless stages was heavy on your heart.
His suggestion sounded apologetic enough for you to swallow the pill entirely, so you immediately declared your agreement, grabbed your purse, then left the apartment.
On your twenty-minutes-long walk there, you made sure to grab a bottle or two of wine and some snacks, because, knowing Yoongi, he would let his body devore itself before he would feed himself a proper meal, once he's inside that studio.
Except that, all of your hopes of a hopelessly romantic night at his studio, and that uncomfortable couch he purchased specifically so he wouldn't doze off when he's supposed to work, vanished as soon as you pushed the door open and walked in.
Yoongi never said or did anything to hurt your trust, neither were you the type of lover to shed tears and break glass when they see their partner with another person. But seeing him sitting so close to the female producer you were already familiar with, their chairs almost touching as they fixed their attention on the large computers on top of his desk, that was a sight you weren't ready for. And it wouldn't have been so much of an issue to you if you weren't sitting in the same room with your boyfriend and the woman he used to hook up with on a regular basis before he got with you.
“It's good to finally see you, __.” She gave you a smile. A little, polite and genuine gesture that, in contrast to the smile you mirrored to her, made your stomach flip.
Another hour passed with you staring mindlessly at your phone screen and them doing their thing. You were on the verge of excusing yourself to leave, to maybe catch some fresh air instead of suffocating to death inside that closed space, when the girl finally stood up to leave.
You watched as she gave him a hug, her hand gently rubbing at his shoulder, before she faced you to bid her goodbye and left.
Throughout the entire thing, Yoongi didn’t spare you a glance. His back was the only thing you could see, along with the back of his head, covered with his favorite dark beanie. You thought her departure would soothe your heart and put your anxious mind to rest. That Yoongi would turn around and explain why the hell he was hanging out with her, and not with his usual team members. Except that neither of the above happened.
“I’m done here too, for the day. We can go now.” He said as he stood up from his own chair, stretching his arms and arching his body with a rough groan. You were left wondering whether you were the insane one there. Or maybe he was that blind to the chaos happening in your head at that very moment.
The words were on the tip of your tongue. You could no longer hold them back. They were too strong to be kept hidden deep inside your throat. And so, you cleared your throat and let them speak for themselves. “You never told me you still work with her.”
You paused, taking a deep breath as you anticipated an answer from him, which came rather more lightheartedly than you fancied.
“Oh, I didn't think it was worth talking about.” He said, hovering over the desk to turn the devices off.
“Really?” You tucked the tip of your finger under another one, his usual nonchalance was supposed to sooth you, reassure your heart that he only belonged to you, but it only served to stir something inside your anxious self. “But it's still something, Yoongi..”
“Darling, you were never bothered with who I work with.” He remarked.
“Because you never had history with your usual team members.” Your blunt argument, with all the bitterness it held, took the both of you off guard.
“Is this about what I think it is?” He glanced up at you again, finally catching up on the situation at hand. “Look at me. Are you upset because she was here?”
“Yes I am.. You never mentioned the fact that you still see her everyday. Were you planning on keeping that from me?”
He let out a heavy sigh. “I told you it was never a big deal, baby. That's why I didn't bring it up.”
“Yoongi, it doesn't matter what you think of it. I deserve to know this type of thing.”
He scoffed at that, his attention turning to his stuff as he started gathering them. “Baby, please. I was working. We had a project to do. It's not like I slept with her or something.”
“Did you?”
At the heavy implication of your short question, Yoongi froze in his place, unmoving. His eyes spoke of surprise and pain as he stared deeply into yours, sending a chill down your spine. You blinked, and the sound of crashing almost made you jump when he threw the headphones he was holding carelessly on the desk.
“You think I did?” He asked. Even as his voice was completely empty of amusement, he didn't raise his voice at you. “You think I slept with her?”
“I don't know.” You shrugged. “That's what I'm trying to know.”
Neither of you spoke after that. He continued staring at you, not providing an answer that could satisfy your clenching heart. Instead, and just like every single time the two of you had an argument before that, he faced his desk again and busied himself with his belongings, his movements harsher and rougher than before.
“It's better if you leave now.” He said, his voice disturbingly cold.
You wished he could say anything. Maybe snap at you for being so harsh with your judgment on him, or lay his heart out and tell you the thing you dreaded the most, that he indeed slept with her. But he didn’t. He just faced the other way and did utter a word. And so, you grabbed your purse, phone in your other hand, and walked out of the studio.
Deep in the darkness of your room, you lay on your bed, deep in thought, staring at the ceiling like it could crack open and show you the secret towards a blissfully happy love story to remedy your soul. Your string of thoughts was cut short when noise broke out in your apartment. The sound of the front door being locked and closed again.
You craned your neck to catch a glimpse of the digital clock on top of your nightstand. It was three am.
Having had this scenario happen multiple times throughout the years of your relationship with him, you left your tear stained pillow and followed the source of the noise, your boyfriend in the kitchen.
You found him bent down in front of the open fridge, his back, once again, facing you. If he didn't hear your footsteps against the floor, he definitely heard the soft sniffle you let out as you leaned against the doorframe, you were certain.
“It's three in the morning.” You stated, like it was the most important news you could give him at that very moment. He didn't spare you a glance, settling for a can of beer and pushing the door of the fridge closed with his leg. “You shouldn’t drink at this hour.”
“Good to know you care about me.” He said, his voice calm but dripping with the usual bitter sarcasm he often exercised when he was tense or angry.
You couldn't help rolling your eyes at that. He was really upset. “Can we just talk?”
He flicked the can open with one hand, taking a long gulp of the liquor that left you with a small frown. “Why? So you get to accuse me of cheating again?”
“Yoongi, please-”
“No, __.” He paused, his gaze felt like a freezing flame to your soul. “You feel the way you feel, yeah I get it. But doubting my loyalty like that? Thinking that I could really go out of my way to cheat like it's nothing? What the fuck are you doing?”
His words, coupled with the way he looked at you, felt like a punch to your guts in that very moment. He was right, you knew that. No matter how insecure and threatened you felt back then, no matter how fucked up the thing he did was, cheating shouldn't have been your first conclusion. Especially when you loved and cherished him so deeply. With a trembling voice, you gathered your words and tried to ignore your stinging eyes as they threatened to spill your hidden emotions out. “I... Our relationship has been so dull lately, I was hoping we could spend some time together and catch up, but then I saw her there and I just..”
“Just what, __?” He cuts your speech. “Do you even trust me?”
“I do, of course I do! But you didn’t even talk to me about it, and when I tried to talk, you were all like ‘Oh, it doesn't matter, you're just being dramatic.’”
“That is not what I said.” He hissed.
“Doesn’t matter!-” A sob interrupted your speech, you ran a hand through your hair in frustration. “Can we just- please-”
Your words were cut short when he started walking towards you. You felt his arms engulfing you in a tight embrace, your face finding its place buried into the crook of his neck, where your warm tears touched his soft, milky skin.
“Shh.. I know.” He whispered into your ear, the strong smell of alcohol, carrying a hint of coffee within, filled your senses. Your arms moved on their own, automatically hugged him back. “You know I would never break your trust, right?”
You nodded your head. Something about the softness of his voice, heavy with vulnerability, made your heart crush into pieces. The way he held you, despite the hurt you knew he felt because of you, had a toll on you.
You pulled away, enough to bring your hands up and cup his face. Your teary eyes staring into his weary ones as you spoke. “That was so stupid of me. I'm sorry.”
“I'm the stupid one here, baby..” He turned his face to nuzzle your palm and press a kiss onto its skin. “I should've thought into it. I was so immersed in work, I didn't see how fucked up the entire situation was. Should've paid more attention.”
He leaned in, pressing a kiss on your forehead and letting his lips linger on your skin there for a few more seconds. “I'm sorry, darling. I'm sorry I made you think that lowly of me.”
The gentleness of his gesture and his words made your tears flow with a mind of their own. There was never a time he made a huge mistake and didn't make you feel like the sky might fall apart at the sight of your tears. It only made the guilt heavier on your heart.
He tightened his hold around you, pulling your body flush against his as he let you cry your hearts content out on his skin. You could feel his hand on the back of your head, a silent encouragement for you to nuzzle his neck again. You obliged.
“I can't believe you made me cry at three a.m like this.” You whined, after a long moment of hushed words of love and quiet sobs, and sniffled.
“I'm sorry, darling..” He cooed at you, wiping the tears off of your cheeks with his gentle fingers. The soft expression he had quickly faded into a slight smirk that appeared on his handsome face. “It wouldn't be the first time I do that, though.”
“Hey!” Your hand landed on his shoulder in a light swat. “We're having a moment here! And I still haven't forgiven you, you know!”
He let out a light chuckle, his smirk deepening when he tilted his head and noticed the faint blush on your face. “Worry not, I'll make it up to you. I'm gonna make you cry in a different way, darling.”
“Go away!” You whined again and shoved him away. His suggestive words made your face feel a lot warmer than necessary, but you tried to sound as stern and unaffected as you possibly could, under his gaze. “I'm going to bed. You better not follow me there, you're sleeping on the couch.”
“Oh, no need for the bed, baby.” He ignored your empty threat and rejection, making a quick job of scooping you up in his arms and heading towards the living room. “We have a foldable couch for a reason.”
“It's an expensive couch, you ass!”

!!READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!! MINORS DNI!!
You were a business major at a prestigious college, you worked your butt off trying to get as many grants as possible. Even then, you still needed to seek out loans to help you in your class payments. Luckily you knew that if you wanted to take this path you needed to sacrifice a lot to the grind. A loud laughter broke you out of your thoughts, who the fuck is making so much noise in the library? You look over and see him, the ringleader surrounded by all his goonies, making you grimace. Derek, one of the top nepo babies at the college; his parents being owners of big trading companies. Rumors say that last week he couldn’t decide on either to get a Ferrari or a Lamborghini so he got both.
Laughter rang through the library again, why were they doing this here? There are literal private rooms they could rent if they really wanted a hang out place. Since you were a commuting student you didn’t have a place like a dorm to study in between classes that’s why you had to use the library. You couldn’t sit back and not say anything anymore so you walked up to the small group. “Hey, I’m sorry to be asking this,” why should you be the one that’s sorry you thought, but whatever, “I’m just trying to study and you guys are being just a little loud.” You look at each of their faces finally landing on Derek last looking at him in the eyes. His eyes widen and a cheeky smile spreads on his features again, “sure, if I can have your number.” You laugh slightly because you thought he was joking but he doesn’t laugh along with you so you gulp and take out your phone. After the exchange he leads his friends out of the library with him.
The next day after your classes you were in the library studying again. You noticed that someone sat down beside you and came face to face with Derek. “Hi,” he says with a smirk, “what are you doing?” You looked at him, confused, “I’m studying.” “Is it fun?” You scoff, “no, I wouldn’t say it’s much fun. But I can’t let my GPA drop so I gotta do it.” Your stomach growls, loud enough to be heard making you blush. Derek laughs at you, “come on, a bookworm still needs to eat right?” You were confused but packed up your things and followed him out to the parking lot where he pressed his keys and the lights to a Bentley lit up. What about the Ferrari or Lamborghini you heard about? Like reading your mind he said, “I like Bentley for everyday use.” He opened the passenger door for you as you sheepishly went in. The drive was surprisingly pleasant, the weather was cool and he had the windows down with the radio playing the popular songs, singing along to them making you laugh and sing along too. Your anxiety was raised again when you two arrived at what seems to be a restaurant with valet parking.
“Why are we here?” You ask while nipping at your fingers. He looked at you confused, “for dinner of course.” “I, uh, can’t afford something like this,” you said with a blush. His confusion turns into a chuckle, “dude what? My treat of course, come on.” He led you in and the host brought you two to a private room. You glance at the menu but don’t see any of the price tags, only stuff like aged wagyu. He looks at how you squirm and smiles, your range of emotions have entertained him since yesterday when you first looked at him. You were so different from him, constantly on the move, taking everything so seriously. What did it look like when you came undone? He was determined to find out.
He orders for the both of you and makes small talk to learn more about you, each word captivates him and makes him realize how oddly charismatic you were. (He’s already in delulu land) Each back and forth feels so genuine and like a breath of fresh air to him and the best part is that you would look at him when talking to him. When the food arrives you light up after each bite, never did your broke ass think you’d even taste food like this. And don’t forget the wine, you might have gone a little too far with it. He helped you back to his car and started driving, you had the window down and your head stuck slightly out and in the zone to notice that you never asked him where he was going.
He was bringing you to his place, leading you inside to his room, you crawled into his bed giggling. He gets in bed and hovers over your intoxicated form. “Hey, this isn’t my bed,” you slur slightly. “You’re cute,” he says. You giggle some more and boop his nose with your finger. He leans in and kisses you, you sigh as you wrap your arms around him and return the kiss. His hands start to roam and grope your body, with the help of the alcohol your skin feels extra sensitive making you whimper. “You like that?” He asks as he breaks the kiss to have a taste of your neck, licking and sucking with sloppy wet sounds echoing through the room making you moan out his name. “We’re just getting started darling.” He reaches down to your entrance, “look at you, you’re so excited to take me.” He slowly works one finger, then two into your entrance, the slow rhythm gets you worked up and you beg for more. Derek sighs dreamily, this is different when other people ask him for things. He wants to give you the world if you let him. He slips his fingers out of you and you whine more. “Don’t worry, you’ll be filled soon,” he slides his pants down and his girth springs up making your mouth water. You’re grinding against his shaft and it sends a shiver down his spine. He holds your hips in place so he can line himself up to your opening and slowly pushes in. You gasp as he enters, you feel so full and he did everything not to just ram it into you. You both fell into a rhythm, the sounds of skin slapping, whimpers and moans resounded through the room. You returned the favor and sucked on his neck and teased his nipples which got him worked up and he took your legs and pounded you in a mating press, the amount of pressure was dizzying and you found yourself being drowned in pleasure about to release. Your toes curl as you orgasm and he follows sooner after. You pass out and he looks at your sleeping form with his fluids leaking out of you. As much as he wants to keep you marked he gets a towel and wipes you and himself down before snuggling next to you.
Has he known peace like this before? His eyelids grew heavy as he listened to your steady breathing beside him. He was already convinced that you were the one meant for him, his one and only. He’ll take care of you from now on and he’ll do everything you ask of him. Derek didn’t even consider the fact that you might say no, because in his head he was going to make you his and it was your choice of either heaven or hell.

i needddd a fic or a blurb of vinnie making innocent!reader cum for the first time 🙈
GOOD GIRL
girl when i tell you …. imma need this irl ASAP
pairing: bfb!vinnie hacker x fem!reader
warnings: smut, praise kink, oral (f receiving), fingering, overstim, use of pet names, age gap (r's 20, v's 22), perv!vinnie, lmk if i missed anything !!
summary: when vinnie overhears you tell his brother you have zero experience, he takes matters into his own hands
a/n: bringing back bfb!vinnie because i thought this would be the perfect opportunity + a lil perv!vinnie is added w it (:
it was another friday night at your best friend's house, movies, popcorn and laughs is what was entailed, just like every other friday.
as of now, you and reggie were telling embarrassing stories to each other. you've known each other for years so nothing ws really weird or uncomfortable for the two of you to talk about.
"okay i got one," reggie starts as he takes a sip of his soda. "this one night i had gone out on a date with this girl, it was going great we went out to dinner and i thought maybe, y'know, i could get something out of it, but she completely turned me down." he explained, a laugh added.
you laughed with him. "did you ever hear from her again?" you asked.
reggie chuckled as he shook his head. "nah, think she blocked my number honestly."
laughing, you take a sip of the drink in your hand. your eyes lift when you hear reggie ask if you've got any embarrassing stories to share.
"i don't really have any romantic or sexual stories to share, if that's what you mean." you tell him, small smile added.
a scoff his heard from the man beside you. "seriously, not one story? come on, you've gotta had done some stuff with somebody? yourself even?"
you shake your head, not having done one single thing. you knew what all of that was, thanks to reggie, but just had never done anything.
as you and reggie were talking, you didn't notice his older brother vinnie slip past his room. the door was open slightly, you could see a bit inside and when vinnie did, his thoughts immediately went elsewhere.
he stopped in his tracks, hiding next to the door so he could hear you talk about your experiences. he made sure he was out of sight from you and his brother.
"nope, not even with myself." you say, and reggie chuckles softly.
it was crazy to him that you hadn't done anything with anyone. he had known you were more closed off and a little innocent, but not this much.
"you should probably get that fixed." the minute those words leave your best friends mouth, you let out a loud laugh.
vinnie, on the other hand, was thinking of all the ways he could help you out. he had always thought about you in that way. he knew it was wrong, you were his brother's best friend, he couldn't have you in that way ever.
something in him didn't care though, he needed you. needed to know why you've never experienced anything sexual.
"oh yeah, and who's gonna fix it?" you asked the brunette, he shrugged.
"i'm sure anyone would love to be with you. hell, i'm with you majority of time and i love being with you." he says, giving you a smile.
you smile back, soft sigh leaving your lips as you lay on your stomach on reggie's bed. vinnie looks in, and when he does, his breath caught in his throat.
it takes everything in him to not interrupt and walk in there, telling you to behave and not have your ass out like you do.
funnily enough, the shorts you were wearing weren't even that short, it was mainly vinnie's perverted mind doing that.
as the night continued, you hung out with reggie up until he fell asleep on you. laughing, you look over at your best friend who actually did fall asleep on you.
as you left his room, you saw vinnie pass by as you were headed to the bathroom to brush your teeth.
"what do you want?" you ask the eldest boy, smirk plastered on his face.
it was no secret vinnie was attractive, even you thought it. you'd never tell reggie, that'd be the day you'd never hear the end of it.
instead, you keep your glances at bay and subtle, hoping no one else catches on.
"nice panties." the comment make you turn your head to look at the back of your shorts, your red lace panties peeking out.
pulling your shorts down, your cheeks heat up at the embarrassment. vinnie shrugs, not seeing any problem.
"so," he starts. he puts his arm above your head on the doorframe, caging you in. "couldn't help but overhear you say you have no experience, ever?"
if you weren't embarrassed already, you definitely were now. you try to weasel your way out of vinnie's grasp but he doesn't let you.
"you want some help with that?" vinnie's smirk doesn't falter even when you roll your eyes at him.
although you were rolling your eyes at him, the idea had popped into your mind, especially now.
looking at him in his white tank top, sweatpants, tattoos and biceps on full display, you couldn't deny that he did look hot.
biting your lip, you smile as you nod your head slowly. the thoughts are taking over, feeling things you don't really understand.
"yeah, you wanna?" vinnie asks in a low, deep tone.
nodding, you're too nervous to give him a verbal response. vinnie smiles as he removes his arm from above you, taking your hand in his.
"gotta be quick, sweetheart. don't want someone to find out, do you?' he asks as the two of you walk to his room.
the minute the door shut you immediately smiled, when vinnie turned around to face you, he chuckled at seeing your reaction.
grabbing your waist, he pulled you into him, making you wrap your arms around him.
"y'know how bad i've wanted this, princess?" he asks in a low, sultry tone.
you shake your head, still a bit nervous and embarrassed. "a long fuckin' time." he says as he pulls you in closer.
the kiss is filled with so much intensity, so much hunger. he really has been wanting to do this for so long.
your hands find the back of his head and you're slightly tugging the baby hairs on the back of his neck, making him groan into your mouth.
his hands, however, find your ass and squeeze just enough for you to moan against his lips.
"sound so pretty, baby." he rasps, and you swore you could've melted right then and there.
you break apart from the kiss and take his appearance in. he's never looked this good, you could've sworn on that.
vinnie catches you staring and chuckles as he caresses your cheek. "need you to stop lookin' at me like that," he says, making you furrow your eyebrows. "or else i will fuck you and not hold back, and i know you don't want that right now."
you slowly nod your head, confidence starting to rise. "you know what i do want?" you ask.
he hums, moving his hands back to your waist, holding you there. “i want you to make me feel good.”
vinnie can feel his pants tighten at the sound of the words leaving your lips. he’s been wanting this to happen for months, he can’t believe he’s hearing you right.
smiling, he kisses you softly before smacking your ass lightly and telling you to strip and lay on his bed.
you nervously did as told. you felt exposed and little under his gaze. watching as vinnie walks over to you, you try to hide yourself from him.
“don’t hide yourself from me, baby,” vinnie says as he places his hand on your thigh. “you’re so pretty.”
blushing at his compliment, you give in and move your hands. you wanted this too, so it wasn’t anything forceful, you’ve just never done anything like this.
he smiles at you, leaning down to kiss you softly. “lay down for me, sweetheart.”
laying on your back against his pillows, you raise yourself up by your shoulders to watch vinnie’s next move.
he gets on the bed and hovers above you, smile plastered on his face as he looks down at you.
“look at you,” he whispers, hands moving along your body. “so perfect.”
you watch his hands move to your tits, squeezing them gently which makes your head tip back into the pillow.
“vinnie.” you gasp once you feel his hands on your chest.
his mouth moves from your lips to your collarbone and soon your chest. he marks each one, you watch as he does so.
“f-feel somethin’.” you say as vinnie continues to kiss down your body.
he looks up at you, eyes dark and filled with lust as he asks what you’re feeling.
you push your head into the pillow out of embarrassment, not wanting to say it.
“it’s like…tingly kind of?” you say more of a question.
he knows what you mean and before answering, he kisses the inside of your thighs. “is it tingling when i do that?”
you nod. “again.” vinnie smirks at you words and kisses the inside of your thigh again, doing the same to the other.
“shit, princess,” vinnie whispers once his eyes trail to in between your legs. “so wet f’me already and all i’ve done is kiss you.”
you whine at his words, the feeling becoming more intense. you watch as vinnie kneels on the bed in front of you.
his middle finger runs along you, making you moan quietly at the feeling you've never felt before.
"that feel good, mama?" the tone he asks the question in just spurs the feeling on more, along with the name.
you nod, a faint 'mhm leaving your lips as you feel his finger enter you. trying to speak, all that is heard is a broken moan.
vinnie looks up at you, eyes dark as he continues to move his finger in and out. he watches your face contort in pleasure as he does, smirk plastered on his face.
his thumb moves to rub circles on your clit, and that's when you really feel the pressure build up.
"v-vinnie," you whimper out, not being able to get more than his name out of your mouth.
he looks up at you, asking what's wrong or how you're feeling before you rely, "feels like m'gonna pee."
vinnie chuckles his his movements quicken, knowing exactly how you feel. "let it out f'me, baby. you're not gonna pee, trust me."
you nod and as his fingers continue to rub and hit that particular spot, you let go on his hand.
vinnie watches the sight in front of him, smirk on his face as he watches you cum all over his hand.
"good girl." he praises as he slowly puts his finger out of you.
you lift up on your elbows to see what he's going to do next. you watch as vinnie licks his finger clean of your juices.
vinnie kisses you with so much need before his lips trail down your body and soon end up back between your thighs.
he looks up at you through his lashes and you smile, gliding your fingers through his hair as you feel his lips on the inside of your thigh.
"fuck," you whine when you feel his lips on your sensitive clit with no warning. "still sensitive, baby."
vinnie jut hums against you, sending vibrations through you even more. his tongue flicks against your clit as you hear the obscene sounds of his mouth on you.
a loud moan rips through your mouth as you feel his finger enter you again. you cover your mouth with your hand, trying to be quiet the best you could.
"taste so fuvkin' good," vinnie breathes out. "god i've been wantin' to taste this pretty pussy for so long."
his words only add to the pleasurable feeling, making you moan into your hand.
"come on baby, lemme hear you." he rasps against you, making you let out a whine.
he smiles at your Moises before he goes back in. mouth and fingers doing wonders, making you feel things you've never felt before.
the overstimulation gets too much and soon, you're gripping onto vinnie's hair with both hands as you moan out profanities.
"v-vinnie, please." you whimper as you feel his tongue on your clit again.
you feel him smirk against you, and that only spurs on the feeling more. you feel that same knot forming again.
whimpers, moans and profanities, along with vinnie's name, is all that's heard in the room as you grip his hair and let go on his face.
he doesn't stop his movements though. you feel his tongue run along your folds even after you've released.
"p-please." you whimper, the feeling of his tongue feels so good, but too overstimulating.
"taste too good, mama." he whispers against you.
soon, vinnie lets up and kisses both your thighs before coming up to kiss you.
"did i do good?" you ask as you watch vinnie smile at you.
he caresses your cheek. "so good, sweetheart. such a good girl." he praises again.
you smile and lean into his touch, the two of you laying down on his bed. you snuggle into his chest as he wraps his arm around you and kisses your forehead.
mo words are exchanged before the two of you drift off to sleep.
hiii i’ve been working on this since wednesday 😭 sorry it took so long to get out, but i hope you all enjoyed it !!

The Dry Spell
It's fairly common knowledge that first responders work long shifts together, often 24 or 48 hours at a time. This kind of togetherness builds strong bonds and makes it nearly impossible to keep secrets. Which was why the entire station seemed to know that Buck and Tommy were in a bit of a dry spell right now.
Buck was in the locker room, changing after a particularly grueling shift. He didn't mean to start venting, but Hen had asked how things were going at home, and before he knew it, he was spilling his guts.
"I mean, it's been over 3 weeks," Buck said, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "And yes, partially it's been us having opposite schedules, but it hasn't only been that. It's just...3 weeks. I'm starting to go crazy."
Hen nodded sympathetically, leaning against the lockers. "That's rough, Buckaroo. Have you talked to Tommy about it?"
Buck sighed, closing his locker with perhaps a bit more force than necessary. "I've tried, but every time I bring it up, something comes up. A call, Emmett needs something, one of us is too tired... It's like the universe is conspiring against us."
He lowered his voice, glancing around to make sure no one else was within earshot. "And the worst part? I'm turned on like, all the time now. It's getting ridiculous. Yesterday, I got distracted during dinner because Tommy reached across the table for the salt. The salt, Hen!"
Hen tried to suppress a smile, but failed. "Oh, Buck. You've got it bad."
"I know," Buck groaned. "It's like I'm a teenager again. I can't focus. Every little thing Tommy does is suddenly the hottest thing I've ever seen. This morning, he was just getting ready for his shift, putting on his flight suit, and I nearly lost it."
"Maybe you two need to schedule some alone time," Chimney chimed in as he walked into the locker room. "You know, make it a priority."
Buck flushed red. "Chim! How long have you been standing there?"
"Long enough to know you're about to combust," Chimney teased. "Seriously though, Buck. Talk to your husband. I'm sure he's feeling it too."
Buck nodded, trying to ignore the embarrassment creeping up his neck. "Yeah, you're right. I just... I miss him, you know? Not just the physical stuff, but the intimacy, the connection. Though right now, I wouldn't say no to the physical stuff either." Suddenly, a thought occurred to him and a sly grin spread across his face. "Wait a minute, Chim. Does this mean you're offering to babysit Emmett?"
Chimney's eyes widened as he realized the implication of his advice. "I, uh..."
Hen burst out laughing. "Oh, he's got you there, Chim! You can't give advice without being willing to back it up."
Chimney sighed dramatically, but there was a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Fine, fine. Maddie and I can take Emmett for a night. But I don't want to hear any details, got it?"
Buck's face lit up. "Chim, you're a lifesaver! I promise, no details. Just... thank you."
"Yeah, yeah," Chimney waved him off, but he was smiling. Just make it count, Buckaroo."
Buck's blush deepened, but he couldn't wipe the grin off his face. Finally, a chance for some alone time with Tommy. Now he just had to make it through his shift without spontaneously combusting at the thought.
It took everything in Buck's power not to speed home. As soon as he walked through the door, he called out, "Tommy!"
"In the kitchen, babe," Tommy's voice replied.
Buck rushed into the kitchen, his eyes wild with excitement. "Pack Emmett a bag. We gotta go!"
Tommy turned from the stove, spatula in hand, his brow furrowed in confusion. "What? Slow down. What are you talking about?"
"Sex," Buck blurted out, his cheeks flushing. "Lots of sex. So much sex."
Tommy's eyebrows shot up, a bemused smile playing on his lips. "Interesting, but I'm still not sure I follow."
Buck took a deep breath, trying to calm himself enough to explain coherently. "Okay, so I may have been venting at work about our... dry spell. And Chimney offered to babysit Emmett for the night so we could have some alone time."
Understanding dawned on Tommy's face, followed quickly by a mischievous grin. "Oh, I see. And you're in such a hurry because...?"
"Because," Buck said, stepping closer to Tommy, his voice dropping low, "I've been going crazy thinking about you all day. Do you know how distracting you are? This morning, watching you put on your flight suit... I nearly lost it right there."
Tommy's eyes darkened with desire. "Is that so?" he murmured, setting down the spatula and wrapping his arms around Buck's waist.
"Mhmm," Buck hummed, leaning in for a kiss. "I've been imagining all the things I want to do to you once we're alone."
Just as their lips were about to meet, they heard the patter of little feet.
"Daddy! Papa!" Emmett's voice called out.
They broke apart, both chuckling but with heat still in their eyes. "I'll go pack his bag," Tommy said, pressing a quick kiss to Buck's cheek. "You go tell him he's having a sleepover with Aunt Maddie and Uncle Chim."
As Tommy headed upstairs, Buck called after him, "I'll text Maddie to pick him up. The sooner they get here..."
Tommy paused at the top of the stairs, throwing a smoldering look over his shoulder. "The sooner we can pick up where we left off."
Buck grinned, anticipation coursing through him. "Exactly."
As they separated to prepare for their evening, both men felt a surge of excitement. Buck quickly sent a text to Maddie, asking if they could pick Emmett up as soon as possible. Then he went to find their son, his mind already racing with thoughts of what the night would bring once they were alone.
Twenty minutes later, the doorbell rang. Buck opened it to find Maddie, Chimney, and Jee-Yun.
"Uncle Buck!" Jee exclaimed, hugging his legs.
"Hey there, munchkin," Buck said, ruffling her hair. "Thanks for coming so quickly, guys."
Chimney raised an eyebrow, a knowing smirk on his face. "No problem. Wouldn't want to keep you waiting."
Buck felt his cheeks heat up, but before he could respond, Tommy appeared with Emmett and his overnight bag.
As they said their goodbyes to Emmett, promising to pick him up tomorrow afternoon, Buck and Tommy exchanged heated glances. The moment the door closed behind Maddie, Chimney, and the kids, Tommy turned to Buck, his eyes dark with desire.
"Now," Tommy said, his voice low and full of promise, "where were we?"
Buck lunged forward, capturing Tommy's lips in a searing kiss. Their bodies pressed together, and both men groaned at the contact, feeling the evidence of each other's arousal.
"Tommy," Buck gasped, breaking the kiss. "I need you. It's been too long."
Tommy's hands roamed Buck's back, pulling him even closer. "I know, baby. I've missed you too."
As they stumbled into their bedroom, Buck couldn't take his eyes off Tommy. The need to touch, to feel, to taste was overwhelming. Without breaking eye contact, Buck slowly sank to his knees in front of Tommy, his intentions clear.
Tommy's breath hitched, his eyes dark with desire. "Evan," he breathed, voice rough with want.
Buck's hands trembled as he reached for Tommy's belt. "Please," he murmured, "I need this. Need you."
Tommy cupped Buck's face gently, his touch a stark contrast to the urgency thrumming through both their bodies. "We've got all night, baby. Let's take our time, ok?"
Buck nodded, but didn't move from his position. The anticipation was electric, every nerve ending on fire. As Tommy's fingers carded through his hair, Buck leaned forward, ready to show his husband just how much he'd missed him.
They had hours ahead of them to reconnect, to relearn each other's bodies, to make up for lost time. And they intended to savor every moment.

Living with Lee Minho was mostly fine. It really was. More than fine, actually. He is a great cook, he takes care of the pets, he's clean, he's tidy. What more could you ask for in a partner? Especially when you shared an apartment.
The thing is that, when it came to cleaning specifically, he was strict with it. Not constantly, like he wouldn't yell because a couple of plates were still in the sink after dinner or because you forgot to clean the cat's litter.
But let's say, once every two-three weeks he would just wake up super early and just completely overthrow the house upside down. Seven am sharp, headphones in his ears, a pair of gloves and by eight the house would be already a mess.
The kind of mess that you have to create before eventually fixing everything back up, but a whole war zone nonetheless.
He would let you know that he planned on doing this a bit earlier, but he wouldn't force you to work with him. But yes, of course you were helping, otherwise what kind of shit girlfriend would you be?
You were lucky enough that you found a man who's basically the whole package, better treat him right. Besides, working with four hands is always going to get thing done faster than two.
He didn't wake you, so by the time you woke up at least an hour had already gone by. Which kinda bothered you, but it was also sunday so...it's gonna be fine.
You got up, preparing yourself for the absolute mess you were going to find, and sure enough, you were right. Suddenly you felt something against your leg, which made you look down quickly.
"Oh hi, my darling, good morning" you cooed at one of the red and white cats, and as soon as he meowed you knew it was Doongie. You smiled, bending down to pet him a bit as he purred.
"Poor baby, did your dad already disrupt your beloved beds? It's okay, I'll make sure to clean those first."
At that point you walked in the kitchen, seeing Mr. Clean himself scrubbing the sink while humming softly to himself. As if he felt your presence, he turned his head back giving you a small smile.
"Good morning kitten" the pet name always made you smile, so you walked up behind him, giving him a back hug and a kiss on the neck. Then backing up, coughing jokingly.
"Ew you're already all sweaty" you whined as you took off his headphones.
"Well it's hot as fuck outside and working does, generally, make you sweat." he replied, throwing the sponge in the sparkling clean sink and wiping his forehead with the back of his arm.
"I know, I know. I sweat twice as much, unfortunately. Except that you have the good genes so you basically don't smell. And look annoyingly attractive." he laughed as he walked to you, who were standing in front of the fridge taking out the stuff to make coffee.
"You don't smell bad either. I actually quite enjoy your scent" he jokingly sniffed your neck, tickling you, which made you giggle and push him a bit.
"You're such a cat. That, or the pheromones must be working overtime" you poured the water to make the coffe.
"Whatever, you smell good and only you could get me horny at-" he glanced at his wrist watch, "Eight twenty in the morning. Call it hormones, black magic, whatever" you laughed.
"Well it was you who decided to get the whole house upside down...so now you gotta wait for the reward." he whined jokingly as you smirked.
"Well then we better hurry up, just in time for a nice afternoon...nap"
---
As you usually would, you ended up splitting the chores or the parts of the house. Sometimes you'd have the task to clean the floors while was cleaning all the shelves and surfaces, so you'd go back and forth around the apartment, sharing a kiss or usually him a playful butt slap.
Other times while you cleaned the bedroom, he'd clean the bathroom so you would communicate through very loud and mostly-purposefully off key singing while the background playlist played from the tv in the living room.
Yes, he would run the list of chores like the military, but at the end you could both enjoy a fresh, clean and amazing scented house. And usually some good delivery to reward yourselves. And also because at that point you'd probably be too exhausted to cook or annoyed to already get the newly cleaned kitchen dirty.
So you'd save the energy for *other things*;)

The Aftermath
Part 2 of my Meeting the Parents series. Each part can be read individually, but it's better together. Here's part one, you can read part two here or on ao3.
Summary:
After Tommy's dinner with the Buckley's goes surprisingly well, Buck's issues with jealously causes his and Tommy's first big fight.
“So,” Buck began nosily as Tommy drove them toward the loft, “what were you guys talking about?”
“Oh, you know, they were telling me all about baby Evan. How much you loved running around the house naked, stuff like that.”
“Okay, that was only for like six months and I wasn't even two and-”
Tommy laughed, reaching over and taking Buck's hand. “I'm kidding, Evan. I didn't even know that was a thing you did. However, now that I do, I will be using it against you in the future.”
“Ugh,” Buck whined. “Come on, Tommy. What'd you guys talk about?”
“Not a whole lot, really. Your mom asked if I actually went by Thomas, and when I said no she started calling me Tommy. Then, she told me I could call her Margaret.”
“Seriously?” Buck eyed him, unimpressed. “That's it?”
“Actually,” Tommy spared a glance in Evan's direction, “she told me a little more than that.”
“Yeah? Like?”
“Like, that I- I'd probably be calling her mom soon anyway.”
Buck was glad he wasn't the one driving, because if he had been, he probably would have swerved right off the road and into a ditch. “R- Really? She said that?”
“Mhm. That's what she said right before you came out. She was sweet about it, seemed happy. May have been the wine though.”
“No, she... I'm sure she meant it.” Buck turned his head to stare out the window, hoping Tommy didn't notice the fact his hand was getting a little sweaty.
“Hey,” Tommy squeezed his hand, “it's not like she's planning our wedding or anything. She was being nice. Probably wanted to make me feel more comfortable with calling them by their first names.”
Buck managed a quick smile in Tommy's direction before returning his gaze to the highway. “Yeah. Yeah, probably.”
*****
Tommy entered the loft behind Buck, letting the door swing closed behind him. “You okay?” he asked, resting a hand against one of Buck's dining room chairs. “You were quiet most of the way home.”
“I'm fine,” Buck lied, plastering on a smile. “Just tired. Family time can get kinda exhausting for me sometimes.”
"Mm." Tommy set the keys on the table and pulled his phone from his pocket. “I gotta make a reminder to reserve a chopper in December. Phillip and I are gonna go to a Lakers game in Vegas.”
“Y- You made plans with my dad?”
“Mhm. Your parents are coming back in town in a couple months and your dad said he'd get tickets if I flew us there.” Tommy shrugged, “Seemed like a pretty good deal to me.”
“Mm, yeah. Yeah, it is. Sounds fun.”
Tommy looked up at Evan from his phone, noting the expression on his face. “I'm sure he'll get extra tickets if you wanna go? Maybe Howie could come along too. I just figured since basketball isn't really your thing...”
“No, no. I- You're right. I wouldn't wanna go. You two should go together. Bond,” he replied, before muttering out loud enough for Tommy to hear, “Since you'll be calling him dad soon anyway.”
Tommy sighed, putting his phone away. “I knew something was wrong. Come on, Evan, hit me with it. What'd I do?”
Buck headed to the fridge to grab a beer. “You didn't do anything.”
“Obviously, I did. You're clearly pissed at me.”
Buck shrugged. “I just think it's weird, okay? It's weird that my dad wants you to fly him around to basketball games. It's weird you were talking to my mom about marrying me when we don't even live together. Hell, we've never even talked about marriage.”
Tommy shook his head. “God, Evan, it's not like I'm dragging you down the aisle right now.” The words came out harsher than he intended. “And we didn't talk about marriage. It was something she said in passing. Sorry for being happy she thinks we'll last.”
“Forget I said anything, okay?”
“No, I'm not gonna do that. This is a really weird thing for you to be mad at me about.”
Buck slammed the bottle down on the counter so hard it caused a loud clang. “I told you I'm not mad at you!”
Tommy crossed his arms over his chest. “So you yell for fun now?”
"I'm not yelling!" he yelled. He took a breath, collecting himself before he continued. "I just don't wanna talk about it right now."
"Well that's too bad, because I do wanna talk about it. You can't get angry with me for things I didn't even say and then not explain why you're mad. That's not how this works."
Leaving the beer behind, Buck headed for the living room. “You wouldn't understand,” he said, waving Tommy off.
“Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do.” Tommy followed behind him until Buck grumpily turned back to him. “Gotta be honest, did not think you'd hate the fact that I got along with your parents. You were the one making a presentation on how to interact with them. Would you have preferred if I acted like an ass? Stepped on their toes? Made them uncomfortable?”
“I don't know, maybe.”
“You cannot be serious.”
"Well, it would've been better than you sucking up to them. Basically kissing the ground they walk on."
"Maybe you're right. We shouldn't be having this conversation right now." Now it was Tommy's turn to walk away and Buck's turn to follow. They made it to the dining room table before Tommy swirled back around to him. “You know, you are acting like such a child, Evan. Maybe I should call Howie and set up a playdate for you and Jee.”
“They're just trying to replace Daniel with you!” The accusation escaped him before his brain caught up with his mouth. The way Tommy stared in shock should have been enough to stop him, but it didn't. “That's all this is, so, you know, enjoy it while it lasts! As soon as they realize you're not what they imagined him to be, you'll be left behind.”
He'd gone too far. He'd probably gone too far a few minutes ago, if he were being honest, but now he'd definitely gone too far.
Tommy's face fell. Buck wasn't sure he'd ever seen him so visibly shaken before. “Wow. Okay. Uh, I don't... I think I'm gonna go home for tonight, Evan.” He picked his keys up from the table and headed for the door.
Half of Buck wanted to beg for him to stay. The other half wanted to yell and tell him that's fine, he wanted to be alone anyway!
He settled on not saying anything at all.
He kept his mouth sealed shut as Tommy left. He didn't even slam the door behind him. Buck wished he would have.
*****
It took three series of knocks before Tommy answered the door. He was wearing a sleeveless tank and a pair of boxers, his hair wildly free of product. There were dark circles under his eyes as he stared at Buck indignantly. “It's three in the morning.”
“I know.”
“Why are you here at three in the morning?”
“Can I come in?”
There was a pause, then Tommy moved out of the way so Buck could come inside. Tommy closed the door behind him, but stayed in the entryway. If this was going to turn into round two, he wasn't sure how long Evan would be welcome to stay. “Did you forget you have a key?” he asked.
“Yeah, sneak into the forty year old army vets house in the middle of the night,” Buck answered with a nervous smile. “I'd give you a heart attack... or get shot one.” He was trying to lighten the mood, but Tommy couldn't quite find the humor in the moment.
“Why are you here?” he reiterated.
Buck sighed, scratching at the back of his neck. “Couldn't sleep,” he admitted. “Could... Were you asleep?”
Tommy knew what the question really meant. Were you able to get rest after what happened earlier? Were you able to let this go?
“No, I wasn't asleep.”
“Oh, okay, um. Good. I mean, not good. But, good that I didn't wake you, I guess. Even though-”
“Evan, where's this going?”
“Can we,” Buck motioned toward the living room. “Can we sit? Talk for a minute?”
“Sure,” Tommy breathed out. “Of course.”
They moved to the living room, sitting stiffly on opposite ends of the sofa. There was an awkward minute of silence before Buck turned toward Tommy and began to ramble, “I'm sorry I acted like an idiot. I didn't mean the things I said, I swear. I think I got so jealous that you got along so easily with my parents that it made me feel, I don't know, insecure. Then I took it out on you, which wasn't fair. I was such a dick after a perfect night-”
“Evan.”
“-and you didn't deserve that. I know I screwed up. I- I know I did. I practically maimed you with my words the same way I maimed Eddie when I was jealous of him, and I-”
“Evan!”
Buck stopped. He looked up to see Tommy had turned toward him, watching him closely.
“What?” he asked.
“I forgive you.”
If things weren't so serious, Tommy might've laughed at the shocked expression on Evan's face. “Yo- You do?”
Tommy nodded. “I do.” He let out a sigh, scooting closer to Evan, “And I'm sorry, too. I just- I didn't think. I wanted to make a good impression, and I was so happy everything went well. I didn't think about what it would all mean to you. I'm sorry.”
“Oh God,” Buck dropped his head down. “I may actually be the worst person in the world. Tommy, I- I'm not mad they like you.”
“Evan.”
“No, really. I promise, I'm not mad. I'm,” he let out a laugh, “I'm thrilled. They have never really shown an interest in my life, not until the last few years. Even then, I never thought to introduce anyone to them. The fact they get along with you, it... it's incredible. See, it- like I said before, it's my jealousy. It's the fact it doesn't come that easily for me. I acted stupid, and immature, but I'm not mad at you. I'm not even mad at them. I'm just... sad, that it's not that way with me. And I took it out on you. You have no reason to be sorry. I'm sorry.”
“You told me about all the crap they put you through growing up, and I hate that they did that. It's not fair to you or Maddie. But you said they were trying to be better,” Tommy explained, “and they seemed so nice tonight. They liked me, or at least I think they did, and I was happy. It felt good, and I got caught up in that.”
“They did like you,” Buck assured him. “They do like you. A lot. And that's a good thing. I swear to you, Tommy, it's me. It was so easy for you to fit right in. I mean, I'm their kid and they had to go to therapy with me just to accept that. It... I don't know, seeing you guys getting along, I- it was a me problem, not you. Not them.” He moved himself closer to Tommy now, so they were both nearly in the center of the couch.
“I don't have to go with your dad,” Tommy said. “Really, I don't mind. And I know I probably freaked you out with the stuff your mom said, but I really think she was trying to be polite-”
“Tommy, no, I-” he reached out for Tommy's hands, who folded them into Evan's easily, “I want you to go with my dad. I want you guys to get along and have a good time. And the stuff my mom said, it... it didn't scare me.” He looked away, blushing a bit. “I like the thought of that. A lot.”
Tommy squeezed Buck's hand to get his attention back, a crinkly smile growing on his face. “Oh yeah?”
Buck nodded, grinning. “Yeah.”
They both leaned in at the same time, pressing their lips together in a gentle kiss.
“You tired?” Tommy asked when he pulled back just enough to speak. “We can go to bed.”
Buck brought his hands up until they were curled around the nape of his neck. “Bed sounds nice.” He kissed him again, less gentle this time. He licked across Tommy's lips with his tongue until Tommy, without a seconds hesitation, opened his mouth to let him in. Tommy rested his hands on Buck's waist, gripping at his shirt.
“You're not tired, are you?” Tommy mumbled between kisses.
“Nope.” Buck ran his hands down Tommy's shoulders, over his chest, letting his nails drag over Tommy's clothed nipples. “You know, this is our first big fight,” he informed Tommy, lifting his shirt just enough to get his hands under the hem, feeling how Tommy sucked in a breath at something so simple as Evan touching his skin.
Tommy moaned, dropping his head to Buck's shoulder. “Make-up sex?”
Buck nodded. "Make-up sex," he agreed, taking Tommy's hand and they stood to head for the bedroom.

please tell me i’m not the only one who thinks soap would be horny at the WRONG times?
like let’s say you’re hosting your very first end of the year bbq and you invite your close friends, the task force, + los vaqueros. you’re excited because you just had moved into your first house as well.
all is good until good until soap starts getting needy, purposely brushing up against your backside whenever he passes by, mumbling the most sarcastic ‘oops my bad’. he even says something along the lines of ‘sending everyone back home so we could have some alone time’ and plays it off as a joke but you know he’s being serious 💀 like that man does NOT CARE, he’ll take you in the bathroom if he has to.
a/n: naur, you're onto something anon. I always picture Soap as a horny bastard; not much restraint in his not-so-little body. got a little carried away on this, lol. warning(s): nsfw, horny stuff, fem!reader
imagine you bought a house together and the nice idea of throwing a little housewarming party, for him, for you — inviting his co-workers and some friends of your own. he insisted a thousand times that you didn't have to invite them; but only because of all the embarrassing stories they were going to tell you about your boyfriend.
but, when all was said and done, it was a great gathering. you did it all yourself — the meals, the decor, the staging of your newly purchased outdoor furniture — everything. it was alluring to Soap, how frazzled and insistent on "perfection" you were. though, you heard about a thousand times, that they would eat anything you put in front of them.
when you two sat around the fire, gaz asked how you two planned on celebrating the new house once the festivities died down. an innocent question; but it sparked in your boyfriend's mind. "aye, we'll find a way to celebrate, that's for sure. jus' gotta make sure the timing's right," he played it off with a chuckle, but there was no mistaking how flustered it made you.
it was going perfectly, or as perfect as a party with these people could be. a lengthy dinner in the backyard, endless conversations, and a little too much indulgence in the booze for some of them. "great party, great house. should have you decorate the base sometime, eh? if it's half as nice, it'll help with morale." price commented as he talked to you and him.
Soap's arm remained around your shoulder, your waist, or anywhere throughout the night. you didn't think anything of it, frankly, you were too laser-focused — until his neediness grew. brushing against your backside, a caress on your thigh lingering, a small wink when the guests weren't focused on you.
some went off to the side to smoke, and others remained on the patio to continue their conversations. by now, it was time to get the mess cleaned up. plates, cups, wrappers, empty bottles, and the other trash that had accumulated.
"i'll help you with that, love. you've done enough tonight, haven't ye?" he approached after dismissing himself, grabbing the second stack of silverware and following you inside. Soap finally had his opportunity to seize what he desired, when he knew the party was much less alive, much less prying eyes on you two.
you stepped inside from the patio, him closing the sliding door behind you. dumping the plates into the sink, you turned on the faucet with the intention of beginning a long night of clean-up duty. his hand reached around you, turning off the faucet, "not what i meant by helpin' you, lass. c'mon," he motioned his head in the direction of the hall.
you took one more look out the window, seeing the preoccupied guests, most paying little mind to your guys' close proximity in your new kitchen. why the hell not? might as well cross the guest bathroom off your list of "places we've had sex in our new home" — right?
before the door even closes, he's hiked up the hem of your evening dress, shoving his hand down the waistband of your panties. Soap ends up fucking you senseless on the bathroom counter, gagging you with his fingers in case any of his co-workers came inside the house to grab another chilled drink. you were only a few feet from the kitchen, it was the definition of risky.
mid-thrust, there was a soft knock. price, goddamn price. "everything alright in there, sweetheart?"
even with his superior on the other side of a door, about a foot away, did Soap stop? no, of course not. he slowed down but never stopped. he removed his fingers from your mouth, biting his lip to mock you that look in your eyes, whilst they shot open in a frenzy. you cleared your throat to conceal a moan, using every ounce of strength to not feel Soap bottoming out over and over again. "uh, just a— just a little wine on my dress, John. no worries!"
as soon as price's steps retreated down the hall, Soap's ragged, growly breaths resumed. in a split second, his ruts went from mockingly slow, back to a relentless pounding.
before there was any chance of another interruption, he finished with a sneer on his face. "wine on the dress, eh? smart girl. i like that." he heaved against your lips, gently wiping any mess that smudged on your lips. you were livid, despite coming down from your own high. a palm smacked his chest repeatedly until he shut your heated whispers up with a hundred pecks across your jaw and mouth.
Soap walks outside first, blaming the lost time on him fishing through the moving boxes for a Tupperware you needed. whether it was believable or not, that was up for debate. the sweat lingering on his brow, the afterglow of sex on his face? unmistakable.
now, you've either have to splash water on your dress to imitate where you would've scrubbed a wine stain off. or... just, walk on out of there like you hadn't just been fucked stupid — with trembling legs, naturally.

New World🪵🍂
Summary: You grew up in a crappy town with one friend who kept you going, everything started to fall into place, that’s until the world ended and the dead ruled the world
•Masterlist•
I just came home from teaching, throwing myself down on the couch, usually Daryl stops by every night for supper and it’s been a tradition we have continued every night since I came back from college
I hated leaving but I needed to get out of this shitty town for a bit, and when I got the opportunity to come back and teach I had to, I couldn’t be apart from Daryl, my best friend, anymore
We’ve been friends since his mom died, my parents told me about his mom and so the next day in school I sat with him at lunch and from then on we have been inseparable, sure he was a hard nut to crack but after that he was the sweetest kindest person I’ve ever met
As I got up to start dinner the door burst open and Daryl and Merle came running in frantic
“Guys what’s wrong?” I asked worried
“Ya need to get yer fine ass movin” Merle laughed
I never liked Merle he was a terrible person and a terrible brother
“We need to go..now” Daryl said grabbing a bag off my counter and throwing a bunch of food in it before taking my hand and dragging me to his truck while Merle got on his bike
“Daryl what’s going on you’re scaring me” my voice trembled as he started up the truck and followed Merle down a back road out of town
“Shits happenin, people are dyin, comin back and eatin everyone, we just gotta get outta here” he said taking my hand in his
“Oh god…..well where are we going”
“Up to that quarry I took ya to last summer, it’ll be far away enough from the city and we got fresh water, don’ worry sunshine I’ll keep ya safe” he said giving me a reassuring squeeze
It was silent for most of the drive all I could hear was the blood pumping in my ears, how could this be happening? What was going to happen now, everything was just falling into place, me and Daryl were just planning to go on a trip to Tennessee too but I guess that’s down the drain
Everything I imagined for my life felt like it was slipping away
“Remember that first day we became friends?” I asked trying to distract myself
“Yeah, ya came and sat with me at lunch, had that green dress on and lil matching bows in yer hair, ya were my first friend, glad ya came up to me that day” he smiled looking at me
“I’m glad too, you were so scared and a blushing mess when I was talking to you, it was adorable then I gave you my cookies and you finally opened up to me” I laughed remembering him snatching my pouch of cookies when I held it out to him
“I wouldn’ cute” he groaned
“Come on Daryl you were adorable you still are” I teased loving how he was getting red
“Stop that” he gentle pushed me making me laugh
~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a long drive we finally made it to the quarry only to find a few people already camped out but thankfully they allowed I three to stay given Daryl and Merle’s hunting abilities
As daryl and Merle were setting up the tent I went around getting to know everyone and asking them what they knew about everything, it’s been scary everyone’s experience and lucky I had Daryl to get me out safely
As the sun got closer to setting I and the air was cooling I helped Lori clean some fish as she laid it over the fire
“Do you need anymore help?” I asked tired
“No dear you go relax for now we will come get you when everything’s ready” she smiled
I smiled and nodded as I made my way over to the tent, unzipping it I found Daryl and Merle having a heated conversation
I stepped in and took my usual place next to Daryl on his sleeping bag
“What’s going on?”
“There’s lots of folks here I say we jack all there stuff and get outta here ‘fore the sun rises” Merle said smirking
“Come on Merle these are good people we need to stick together and we are in a good place can we just see how things go I don’t wanna leave”
“Damn pussy, I knew we shouldn’ have come and got ya” he groaned as he left the tent
I sighed and turned to look at Daryl and of course he had a defeated look
“It’ll be okay Daryl! I’ve gone around and they seem like a good group to be with everyone carries their own part, we can make it work” I smiled trying to cheer him up
He didn’t say anything which was typical but I was fine with that I knew he wasn’t much of a talker I just hoped my words got through to him a bit
“So…..where am I sleeping tonight” I asked trying to avert the conversation
“Ya can take my sleepin bag I got a blanket I can use” he said looking back at the little thin blanket by the sleeping bag
“No daryl it’s your sleeping bag I can take the blanket”
“Nah ya ain’t doin that
“Well….i mean the sleeping bag is big enough for us both to fit” I said feeling the heat rise to my cheeks, but it’s not like daryl and I have never shared a bed, we’ve had many sleepovers as kids when his dad was being an ass but this felt…..different
He shrugged his shoulder “sure might get cold tonigh’ anyways” always the survival man
“Okay umm….dinner should be ready soon we should go set up around the fire” i said standing up and pulling my shoes back on, I looked back at him and he was just staring
“Ya coming?”
“Ya I’ll be out soon” he said grunting as if clearing his voice
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Daryl’s pov
Me and Merle were coming back from hunting when we safe people on the sidewalks being torn apart, guts everywhere, people screaming and and we knew we had to get outta here
“We gotta get away from these things, we’ll stop by the house get some shit, my bike and we will head to the quarry” Merle said speeding to our crappy house
After we got everything I stopped Merle
“We gotta get y/n, I can’ leave her”
“Nah leave that slut here, just gonna slow us down”
“Man im gettin her, ya either follow me or not but im gettin her” I groaned as I hoped in the truck and drove off the her place
After I got her she was so panicked but tried not to show it but I could see it in the way she acted, I’ll do anything to keep her safe even if I gotta but my life on the line, she everything to me and has been the only one to keep me going, she’s my sunshine
~~~~~~~~
Normal POV
I got a seat on a log pushed up close to the fire some were sitting around as there was two fires going to keep the flames not as big
Finally Daryl came out and I pat the spot next to me while he laid a blanket over my shoulders
“Thank you” I smiled he always showed his friendship to me in little ways and they always made me feel warm inside
I handed him a plate of fish and some random vegetables the group has found
“So y/n, how long have you guys been together?” Jacqui asked startling me with such a question
“What?”daryl asked confused
“You and y/n, you’re a couple aren’t you, you both seem like the perfect couple” she smiled
“Oh no he’s my best friend, been friends since we were 9, barely been apart”
I looked at Daryl and he was clearly uncomfortable and the people around us could sense it as well so they carried on with their own conversations
After we finished eating he stood up and left towards the tent, I sat my plate ontop of his and thanked the girls for supper and headed of towards the tent as well
“Can I come in?” I asked at the tent door
“Ya” he grunted as I heard him shuffle around
I unzipped it seeing him changed into more comfortable clothes sitting on his sleeping bag
I zipped the tent back up and smiled
“Maybe I should have packed some clothes quickly before we left now I gotta sleep in jeans”
He shuffled through his bag and pulled out one of my big night shirts
“Where’d you get this?” I asked confused
“When ya come over for the night sometimes ya left a few things and I kept them just incase, thought I’d bring em along” he shrugged
“Thank god for those sleepovers then, mind if I change in here?” I asked taking the shirt from him
“Sure” he turned as I started to unzip my pants and pull off my shirt, quick to haul the oversized shirt over my head as I came down to the middle of my thigh
I folded up my jeans and “day” shirt and laid it by his bag
“K I’m done” he turned and started to crawl his way into the sleeping bag
He opened one side and waited for me me to join, it was snug but with the chilly night air god was it warm, I turned so my back was to his chest so we could fit more comfortably and he laid his arm over my waist
“Where’s Merle?” I asked not having seen him all night
“Said he was going down to the quarry must have wanted to get his own fish er somethin?” I hummed in understanding feeling my eyelids getting heavier
“Daryl….please don’t ever leave me” I said finally understanding the weight of everything and that this is probably gonna be our forever world now
He grabbed my waist and held me closer
“I ain’ never leavin ya”
My heart felt a bit later after such a strenuous day
“Good night Daryl” I said as I laid my hand ontop of his
“Night sunshine”
Inspired by the Irish twins stuff - if Yuu is with both tweels, I can imagine that would be trifold and may turn into a competition (with Yuu's consent) to see who can have triplets first.
Tweels parents are thrilled with all the grandeels while Crewel and School Nurse are this 🤏 close to making Eel skinned boots.
Meanwhile Uncle Azul visits and baby Eels are crawling all over him enough to distract him from the tweels and Yuu leaving to try for triplets.
SCREAMS IRISH TWINS AND TRIPLETS WITH THE TWEELS AAAAA
It 100% turns into a little competition between the brothers. They're not sure how they can tell that the first pair are Jade's, Yuu thinks it must be a scent thing. Floyd is upset though that he didn't win first, so a new bet is made on which one of them can get Yuu knocked up with triplets. Floyd is especially giddy at the idea of triplets for some reason, so he's trying to sneak them away from Jade after the twins are born. It's to no avail, as Jade is attached to Yuu's hip, and Floyd is so weak to the cute little babies in the bassinet, so he's now just making sure Jade can't take them away and beat him again.
The perfect opportunity arises when their family and the Ashengrottos show up to give their congratulations and see the twins. Mama Leech and Mama Ashengrotto are cooing over the twins, Azul is congratulating his friends (and trying not to cry over being the other godparent for both kids), and Papa Leech is talking with Azul's stepfather.
“I do hope we get another grandchild, large families are so rare under the sea, but humans have them all the time! It would be nice, though, do humans usually have twins or triplets?”
They don't, but that's nothing that a potion can't fix. It was Jade's best class, after all. Floyd is surprisingly sneaky, taking Yuu up to the bedroom with the excuse that they need to rest and asking his and Azul's mom if they could take care of dinner and the babies for a bit. They accept with no complaint, though Mama Leech notices a gleam in Jade and Floyd's eyes as they walk Yuu up the stairs.
A person can get pregnant up to 3 weeks after birth, so they gotta get started asap. Floyd's extra determined to win this next bet after all.
(A few months later, after they announce that they're having triplets, the tweels find themselves cowering behind Yuu as Crewel and the nurse attempt to strangle them.)
Racer!jk might be my favorite one right now!!! Omg can we please have a drabble on that race where jk crashed?
...but also,,, pretty please can we have a drabble before jk was successful? Shes been with him thru thick and thin, i feel like it would be a great read to see how they were when jk got his first ever major win
I'm doing the second one, before his career really took off.
-> main work
"It looks so cute!" You say, looking at the front of the car. "Like it's smiling!" You beam, and Jungkook laughs, walking up to you to look at the front as well. People are watching you- its the first time jungkook has taken you with him to a race after all.
"Huh. I guess?" He wonders, tilting his head a bit. "If you take the headlights as eyes and then the bumper as a mouth.. it does kind of look like it." He admits, and you laugh. You've not been dating too long- but he already knows that your laugh is the cutest he'll ever come across in his life.
"See?" You tell him, before you take a peek at the inside. "It's so small in there though.. and What're those tubes for?" You ask.
"Its called a cage. Basically, if the car flips, the cage stays intact and as result, I do too." He jokes- but he notices you tensing up a little. "It's for safety." He says, and you nod a bit more quietly now.
"And.. all the wires there? Are they gonna cover those?" You ask, and he shakes his head.
"Nah, they stay like that. The car doesn't have to look pretty, just gotta accommodate me and keep me alive and well." He tells you- but it's clear that he's not very tactful in thinking about your emotions. He's not used to having a girl around in this setting- and it shows. "Hey- I'll be fine."
"But this is fucking dangerous, right?" You worry. "I looked up stuff online." You say, crossing your arms. "I'm not stupid." You threaten, and he moves to gently hold your cheeks.
"Baby of course you're not, never said you are." He reassures you. "But it's not my first time, I'll be fine!" He urges, and you can't help but let his big Boba ball eyes get to you. They're sparkling with the heat of his own pride right now, and he deserves to feel like that.
"..okay. sorry." You're not sure what you're apologizing for, but you still do- and he laughs, pecking your lips. Twice, because once is never enough. He doesn't care about his friends whistling in the back.
They're just trying to tease him.
"Dont worry so much. I've got experience, and my driving skills aren't half bad either!" He beams at you, and you smile. "And I've got my good-luck charm here too, so there's no way I'll lose this one." He purrs, pushing you back a little against the side of his car before he kisses you deeper than before, uncaring about looks.
"You sure I'm not distracting?" You ask, watching how he licks the piercing on his lip. "Kook you're literally staring at my tits right now, you're proving my point!" You laugh, and he grins as well.
"Nah." He shakes his head, shamelessly grabbing your ass as he walks you back behind the safety barriers. "I'd call it motivation." He responds.
"Motivation huh?" You tease, and he nods.
"To get back quick, and fetch my prize." He explains to you. "Take you out to a fancy dinner with that money I'll make."
"Maybe I'll let you have dessert in the car." You tease, and he grins.
"Deal." He grins at you, before he leaves to get ready for the dirt track race, leaving you behind with your suppressed worries.
He'll be fine.
Or at least you hope he will be.
Do You Believe In Fate // Part 4 // Aegon II x Reader
Summary: Tensions are high during dinner. The next day you all spend it outside but Cassandra decides to stir up trouble.
Warnings: None
Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3 // Part 4 // Part 5 // Part 6
Entering the dining room, all was quiet. Just like in the living room, there was thick tension. Alicent sat at the head of the table with Criston to her right. Across from Criston sat Helaena. Next to Helaena was Aegon and Cassandra. That left the seats next to Criston open.
Aemond played the part of the ever loving boyfriend perfectly. He pulled out your chair and kept your hand in his the whole time. You were sure to give him a sweet smile before sitting down. Aemond let go of your hand to seat himself but quickly had yours back in his grasp. He looked at you with a big, love struck eye. You let yourself get lost in it, thinking about looking into Aegon’s. Aemond simply gave you a knowing look and smirked.
Aegon cleared his throat. “Now that we're all here I’d love to share with you all how I proposed to my beautiful Cassandra.”
Bile ran up your throat but you swallowed it down.
“A story I'm wanting to hear since you didn't include me in it,” Alicent said.
Cassandra interjected before Aegon had a chance to speak. “Oh, it was so wonderful!”
A small frown appeared on Aegon’s face but was quickly replaced with a shit eating grin. Everyone else may have missed it but you didn't. You spotted Aegon taking his hand away from Cassandra and flexed it on the table. You knew Aegon well enough to know that he's the one who liked to tell the stories.
“He took me out to a beautiful park. We walked around admiring the trees and flowers and stuff.”
You coughed. “And stuff?”
“Hey, she may not be as good with words as you,” Aegon defended Cassandra, “but at least now she has a future husband.”
“Wow, what a great way to insult your fiance, Aegon.”
“I did not insult her!”
“You kind of did,” Aemond jumped in. “You said that she's not as eloquent as my girl and implied that her worth is just now important because she's engaged to you.”
Cassandra and Aegon looked at Aemond with their mouths open wide.
“Anyway,” Cassandra laughed, attempting to draw everyone’s attention again. “The park was beautiful and our walk had the best views. It was actually one of the first places Aegon took me when we started dating.”
You bit back a laugh knowing full well that Aegon wouldn’t take a date to a freaking park.
Cassandra continued with her story. “There was a bridge that looked across a stunning lake. He stopped me in the middle of the bridge and bent down on one knee. The rest is history.” She flashed a toothy smile and held out her hand to show off the sparkly diamond ring that adorned her finger.
Looking at the ring, you turned to Cassandra. “It’s so…you.”
Batting her eyelashes, she gave you an innocent smile. There was fire in her eyes, though. One that challenged you to say something else, to insult her. “Thank you. So when are you two going to get engaged?”
Aegon addressed Aemond but held your eyes. “Yeah, when?”
“Oh, we haven’t thought about that yet,” you jumped in. “We’re taking our time and we want to enjoy each other and not think or focus too hard about what’s ahead. Neither of us have graduated yet and we want to complete university before making any big decisions.”
“Well, you know what they say, brother,” again, Aegon only addressed Aemond. “Ring by spring; gotta get that ring before your final spring semester.”
“Hey,” Aemond gently gripped your chin so you could face him. “We’re in no rush, okay? We’ll take our time and we won’t let my brother, of all people, force us into something we’re not ready for.”
You nodded your head and brought his hand from your chin to your lips to brush a kiss on his knuckles. Silence enveloped the table again. While you were looking only at Aemond, you felt Aegon’s hot gaze on the back of your head.
Helaena broke the quietness. “Well, if anyone is interested, I’m now the proud parent of a lunar moth, comet moth, and a rosy maple moth!”
“Oh, tell me about them,” Alicent hopped on the train fast.
Helaena and Alicent talked about the moths, what their names are, what their personalities are like, and so on. If only they were real. Helaena was lying out of her ass and you couldn’t help but tuck your head into Aemond’s chest and laugh quietly.
Dinner ended up being a fairly quiet one. There was the occasional giggle from Cassandra, usually due to something Aegon whispered in her ear. Each giggle was like nails on a chalkboard. They grated against your brain and it made you want to throw up. Each time your jaw tense, though, Aemond was quick to place a hand on your leg or hand in show of silent support. Desserts were about to be passed around but you took that moment to call it a night.
“Alicent, it's been wonderful catching up with you, with everyone, really,” you nodded at Aegon and he returned it with a blank stare. “But I'm really tired and I think I'll turn in for the night. I assume I'm gonna be in Helaena's room?”
Alicent gave you a warm smile. “That's where I was initially going to put you for the night but since you and Aemond are dating you can sleep in his room if you'd like,” she turned to Aegon. “The same goes for you and Cassandra.”
You held back a cringe when she brought up Cassandra sleeping in Aegon’s room. Instead, you went to Alicent to give her a hug goodnight and left for Aemond's room.
Once you closed the door behind you, you knocked the back of your head against it.
“Stupid, stupid, stupid,” you muttered to yourself.
After a few moments of standing against the door and contemplating your life’s choices, you crossed over to the bed and plopped down face first. You let the quiet wash over you and calmed yourself before you could start thinking about everything that has happened within the last couple of hours.
“Can I come in?” Helaena was on the other side of the door. “I know you're in there and you're probably thinking about something silly. Let me in so we can talk, sweetie.”
Groaning, you got up and dragged your way to the door and opened it, revealing a worried Helaena. She enveloped you in a tight embrace as she stepped into the room.
As she released you from the hug she asked, “So, you're dating Aemond now, huh?”
You chuckled and shrugged, “Yeah, I guess I am.” Taking a deep breath, you looked at your friend with some insecurity. “I just didn't know what to do. I don't know if I want to make Aegon jealous or to do something to make him talk to me. I panicked, Hel, I really did, and now I don't know what I dragged Aemond into.”
“Speaking of the devil,” Helaena chimed as Aemond entered the room.
“You didn’t drag me into anything. I willingly went along with it, it’s okay,” he said. “Like I mentioned earlier, bringing Cassandra was a stupid move. I’m also pretty sure it’s fake. Aegon wouldn’t settle down that quickly, if at all.”
The more you thought about it, the more you agreed with Aemond. It didn’t make sense. While it was a few years ago, Aegon said that Cassandra was just fun, nothing serious.
“What’s your plan with the fake dating?” asked Helaena.
You weren’t confident in your answer, “I guess to make Aegon jealous? Try to lure him out of the engagement?”
“And if it’s real? His engagement?”
“Then I guess it’s time I let him go.”
You woke up in Aemond’s bed feeling a little more steady than when you fell asleep. The events of yesterday settled in your mind and you had come up with a better game plan. Picking up your phone, you checked the time. It was early enough that no one else but Helaena would be awake; she’s always been an early riser. The soft snoring from the floor indicated that Aemond was still asleep. Very carefully, you got out of the bed and tiptoed around Aemond to leave the room.
As you exited the room you found that you were correct. There was someone in the kitchen, humming to themselves, as they prepared breakfast. You knew that humming anywhere. It was Helaena. A smile graced your lips as you made your way to the kitchen.
“Whatcha making this morning?” you greeted her.
Helaena looked over her shoulder to glance at you. “Just some eggs and bacon for everyone. Speaking of bacon, can you get started on them for me?”
“Of course!”
It was just like when you were younger, making breakfast with Helaena. The two of you would be the first ones awake and prepare it for everyone while you two had some girl talk.
“Sleep well? I know you had a comfy bed to share,” she winked.
Rolling your eyes, you prepared the sausages for the frying pan. “Yes, I was snuggled all up with Aemond and we whispered sweet nothings to each other.”
Helaena snickered, earning her a smack on the arm.
“He slept on the floor, you goof. I told him I’d take the floor but you know how he is. Always being the chivalrous one.”
“It sounded like Aegon had a silent night, I didn’t hear anything coming from his room.”
“Thank the gods. If there were noises coming from his room I’d be gone. I wouldn’t be able to stand that.”
“Gods, Aegon, you’re just so good in bed!” You heard Cassandra yell.
“And of course they’re both awake. Prepare yourself,” muttered Helaena.
“Shh! You don’t need to yell it for the whole house to hear!” You could hear Aegon smack his face with the palm of his hand. They weren’t exactly good at being quiet.
You glanced at Helaena, both of you concealing your desire to laugh as best as you could. It wasn’t until you noticed the smoke coming from your frying pan that you were brought back to your breakfast making.
“Oh, shit! The bacon!” You hastily got them off the pan and onto a plate. “At least they’re not absolutely unedible?”
They were burnt to the point of almost being black and they crumbled at the slightest touch.
Helaena sighed. “Aegon will eat them.”
“I HEARD MY NAME!” He called from the hallway.
Cassandra and Aegon walked into the kitchen hand in hand.
“What is that delicious smell?” Cassandra asked.
“That would be burnt bacon,” you said matter-of-factly.
“My part of breakfast, however,” Helaena butt in, “is not burnt and is still edible. The bacon is only kind of edible.”
As Helaena passed you, you bumped her with your hip and stuck your tongue out.
“What a sophisticated woman you are,” she joked as she put the eggs on the dining room table.
Cassandra cocked her head to the side. “That’s all we have for breakfast?”
“You’re more than welcome to make whatever you like from what we have in the fridge,” Helaena offered.
“Aegon, why don’t you make her breakfast? Since you’re engaged and you obviously love her so much that you’re engaged,” Helaena said sweetly.
Aegon puffed out his chest. “That’s right. I do love her so much. Now,” he clapped his hands. “Where to start…”
“I would check to see what’s in the refrigerator first,” you suggested.
“Yeah, a great place to start. Let’s see here.” Aegon opened it up and rifled through its contents. “Leftovers!” He produced a container of last night’s dinner. “Perfect for breakfast, a reminder of last night!”
Cassandra’s eyes lit up. “Aw, Aegy, you’re the best!”
You threw up a little in your mouth. “Since that’s settled, I’m going to wake up Aemond for breakfast,” you said as you exited.
Once you were out of their view, you booked it to Aemond’s room.
“Aemond! Aemond!” you stage whispered once you were in his room. “Something is up with Cassandra and Aegon!”
Aemond groaned as he sat himself up. When you left the room he took his bed back. Rubbing the sleep out of his one eye, he tried to pay attention to your ramblings.
“Cassandra was saying something about how good he was in bed, ugh, but then Aegon told her to be quiet. If it were anyone else but Aegon I wouldn’t think anything of it but he has never minded his achievements being known. Even by family, which is a little much. And then -”
“Whoa, slow down,” Aemond stopped you. “Aegon is bragging again? That isn’t news.”
You sat down next to Aemond and hit his arm. “You’re not listening to me. Aegon was telling her to be quiet. Like he didn’t want anyone to hear anything. When Helaena suggested that Aegon make something for Cassandra for breakfast, he just pulled out some leftovers.”
“No, that’s pretty accurate. I wouldn’t look too deep into that. He’s always been too lazy to cook anything. He just rifles through the refrigerator.”
“Well, either way, something is up. I just know it.”
“Whatever it is, we’ll figure it out, I promise. Or we’ll just make Aegon miserable. I’m fine with both.” Aemond offered you a small smile. “Let me get changed and I’ll meet you in the kitchen.”
With a nod of your head, you left Aemond’s room. When you closed the door, however, you found yourself face to face with Aegon. You almost ran into him but stopped yourself. Taking a deep breath, you could smell his cologne, something so familiar yet so foreign. His violet eyes bore into yours.
“Doesn't sound so couple-y to me. Are you sure you and Aemond are actually in a relationship?” questioned Aegon.
“What, like you and Cassandra are the epitome of couples? You two don’t sound like a real couple either,” you shot back at him.
“Cassandra and I are engaged. As in we’re going to marry each other.”
You scoffed. “Yeah, don’t remind me.”
“Don’t tell me you’re jealous,” A smirk settled on Aegon’s lips.
“Of course I’m not jealous. I’m with Aemond, remember?”
“Ah yes, my brother. How could I forget that my once best friend is dating my brother?”
Heat boiled underneath your skin at him implication. “‘Once best friend?’ Don’t pin that on me, Aegon! You’re the one who left!”
“I didn't leave you!”
“You chose Cassandra over me. Once you started dating her you were never around anymore. No texts, nothing. So don't tell me you didn't leave me.” Tears burned in the corners of your eyes.
“But you avoided me! You were still around the house but would turn and walk away as soon as I showed up. You'd cross the street if we saw each other in town. Don't blame it all on me when you didn't put in any effort, either.” Aegon was stepping closer to you.
“Did you ever think, that maybe, just maybe, I didn't want to be around you because you hurt me? That maybe seeing you caused me pain, that it hurt seeing you happy with someone else? That it was best for me to just avoid it all to ease that pain? I lived in ignorant bliss, ignoring you and Cassandra. I could forget that we were ever close, that there was something between us, that thing that you denied was ever there. So sorry, sorry for moving on. Sorry for healing.” You tried to push past Aegon but he didn't budge.
Aemond's bedroom door opened behind you. He quickly spotted you and Aegon against the wall.
“Hey, back off of my girl,” he growled at his brother.
“Relax, brother. I wasn’t doing anything to hurt her.”
Aemond scoffed. “Yeah, and I have two eyes. You're not going to hurt her, not anymore.”
As Aemond whisked you away, he immediately began asking questions about Aegon and what all was said. By the time you two had made it to the living room, you had answered most of, if not all, his questions with a quick yes or no. Once on the couch, the two of you continued your conversation in hushed voices.
“I understand we're a fake couple,” Aemond started, “but our friendship is real and I refuse for you to be hurt by him again.” He held your hand tight in his.
Cassandra's voice cut to the living room. “I know, the ring is beautiful. He spent a fortune on it but, you know, he’ll do whatever he needs to do to keep my heart.”
You snorted at her proclamation. “Even she sounds fake, Aemond. You and I both know that Aegon wouldn't spend a shit ton of money on a ring.”
“Even if you're right, I don't want him to break your heart again.”
“He can't break my heart any more than he already has.”
“You say that but you know that's not true. Letting him in again gives him the opportunity to hurt you even more. I don't think I could stand by and watch that. Helaena wouldn't be able to, either.”
“I miss him so much, Aemond. Seeing him with Cassandra has always caused me pain but seeing him now makes me want to shake him and tell him to wake up. He's making stupid decisions but I've kind of missed that about him; his impulsivity and fuck it, let's go attitude.”
“We have today and tomorrow to get him to say something, if you're that sure. Other than that, I don't know when’s the next time you’ll see each other.”
“There's always the chance he'd come crawling to my dorm,” you joked.
“I wouldn't put it past him,” said Aemond. “I see the way he looks at you, when he thinks no one can see him. He doesn't look at Cassandra that way at all.”
You gave him a small smile. “Thanks, Aemond.”
As with most family gatherings, Alicent and Criston convinced everyone to step outside for the day and relax completely unplugged. No phones.
“This is nice,” Helaena said as she spread out on the picnic blanket. “The food was wonderful, too.” She rested her hands on her stomach.
You laid down next to Helaena and looked up at the clouds. Aemond joined you two soon, and together you looked up at the clouds. This was something you’d do together when you were children and it was nice to revisit it. Various clouds made up various animals. It brought you a sense of peace, a good reprieve from the last twenty four hours.
A few feet away sat Aegon and Cassandra. They were complaining about not having their phones.
“I don’t understand the point of ‘unplugging’ when we’re just going to go back to the house and plug right in again. It’s stupid,” Cassandra said as she rolled her eyes.
“Eh, it’s my mother’s way to get us all to bond or something,” replied Aegon.
Cassandra huffed. “There’s nothing to do out here.”
“If you got your heads out of your phones and looked up every now and then you would see that there’s not nothing!” Helaena called to them.
“Says the bug girl!” Cassandra called back.
You turned your head to face Healena. “I’ll fight them for you, even Aegon.”
Helaena shrugged. “No worries, I am a bug girl and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.” She glanced at Aegon and Cassandra. “They’re not even holding hands. Are they even trying”
“Aemond and I aren’t holding hands,” you pointed out.
“Yeah, but you two naturally kind of meld together.”
“I’m not sure I like that.”
“It just means you’re compatible.”
You scrunched your nose. “Look, as much as I love Aemond, I can’t see myself with him. At all.”
“That’s fair.”
“Wow, way to make me feel great,” drawled Aemond.
Helaena jumped at his voice. “I thought you were asleep!”
“I was resting perfectly fine until you made a comment about how me and my best friend here would be compatible as a couple. That’s too weird.”
“And yet you two are playing the part perfectly.”
“Hel, whose side are you on?” you asked exasperatedly.
“Just playing devil’s advocate,” she smirked.
As your two friends settled back into their relaxing state, you looked over and saw Aegon mumble something to Cassandra that caused her to roll her eyes. Cassandra had a sly smile dance across her face briefly before grabbing Aegon by the back of his neck and pulling him into a searing kiss. He melted into the kiss and brought Cassandra closer to him. His hands wandered over her hips and came close to her ass. You could see him smile in the kiss and it made you want to throw up.
Looking at your friends you mumbled, “I think I’m going to go inside now.”
Aemond reached a hand out to stop you but you shrugged him off and made your way back inside. Wandering, you found yourself in Aemond’s room. At least there you could cry with the safety of no one finding you. At least you hoped no one would find you. You knew Aemond and Helaena weren’t too far behind you, both of them pissed at Aegon for making you upset again. A constant in your life, it seemed. It was Aegon that hurt you. Always Aegon. But it was also always Aegon who made you happy. Always Aegon who would make you laugh. It was only in the last few years that he has been hurting you.
Sitting on Aemond’s bed, you hugged yourself tight and shut your eyes. Seeing him kiss Cassandra instantly brought you to the dreaded party night; the night he abandoned you. Bringing your hand to your mouth, you let out a muffled sob. It was one thing to hear about them being engaged, another to think it to be fake, and then it being completely something else seeing them make out. The fact that Aegon pulled her closer is what made your heart crack. If Cassandra had only initiated the kiss you would have rolled your eyes. Aegon kissing back was a stab to the heart you were not expecting.
There was a soft knock at the door followed by Helaena’s soft voice. “Sweetie, are you okay?”
You didn’t respond. All you could do was let the tears flow.
“Let me go in, we’re supposed to be dating after all, Hel,” you heard Aemond say.
The door creaked open; followed by the sound of soft footsteps. You still refused to open your eyes. The mattress dipped next to you and a hand found its way to yours. Gently, it moved your hand from your mouth down to your lap. A soft kiss was pressed to your forehead and you were soon enveloped in a hug. Again the mattress dipped, but on the other side of you, and another set of arms brought you in for a group hug. You knew without a doubt it was Aemond and Helaena.
“I’m sorry,” you said against Aemond’s chest.
“Hey,” someone squeezed you. “There’s nothing to be sorry about. He’s stupid.”
“We all thought it was fake. Hell, he told me it was fake!” Your outburst pushed you away from the group hug. “He lied to me. He fucking lied.”
Helaena tried to reach for you. “You don’t know that.”
“How can you be taking his side? You just saw him eat Cassandra’s face!
“Aemond, say something!” Helaena tried to get him involved.
Aemond didn’t say anything.
Helaena groaned. “You two are so blinded. It was Cassandra who pulled him in for the kiss.”
“Yeah, but he kissed her back,” you pointed out.
“Because he knew you were watching and would get jealous.”
“Well, I’m jealous. Someone should find him and give him a gold star.”
“Gods, you two are so dense,” Helaena threw her hands up. “You need to stop fake dating Aemond and just talk to him!”
“I’ll stop fake dating Aemond when he stops supposedly being fake engaged to Cassandra,” you shot back. You pouted and crossed your arms over your chest.
“Fine. I’m calling an intervention, then.” Helaena crossed over to the door and left, not even bothering to close it.
“Oh, gods,” you groaned.
Aemond patted your back. “It shouldn’t be too bad. You know she wants the best for you and right now Aegon is being difficult and you’re being difficult so she’s trying to make you meet in the middle.”
Helaena popped back in the doorway. “Come on, girl. Just you. Aemond, you can stay here or something, it’s up to you, but you are not part of the intervention.”
“I’m okay with that.” He put up his hands in a mock surrender before giving you one last squeeze before you went with Helaena.
Helaena took your hand and led you to an extra room. Already there was Aegon, sitting on her bed.
“Here. Neutral ground. The guest room. Both of you are going to talk things out because you’re acting ridiculous,” Helaena said.
She plopped down on the floor and encouraged you and Aegon to do the same. Aegon mumbled something under his breath about not wanting to sit on the floor but he did so anyway. You, on the other hand, immediately sat down. There was a tension between you and Aegon. So much has been left unsaid that it’s made the relationship between you two muddled. You held his gaze when neither of you said anything.
“One of you has to speak first; I’m not gonna call on you like you’re in a classroom,” Helaena chided.
“Fine, I’ll go first,” you said. Taking a deep breath, you tried to calm yourself before you let out a storm of emotions. “Aegon, this is stupid. We shouldn’t need Hel here to be a mediator between us but apparently we do. We had this talk earlier but you hurt me. You hurt me bad. I know we were interrupted by Aemond but then you go around and make out with Cassandra to rub it in? Great, I feel great. Seeing you eat her face made me feel so good about myself and my relationship you. Totally didn’t make me rethink everything and bring back old feelings of abandonment.”
“Cassandra was the one who kissed me. I didn’t start the kiss -” Aegon tried to say.
“But you still kissed her back. I was there, Aegon.”
“We are fake!” he threw his hands in the air. “We aren’t together. The engagement? Fake. The relationship? Fake. Well, it was real and then it was fake but that doesn’t matter.”
“Of course it was real, Aegon. I’ve seen you make out with her before. Still feels like being stabbed, though,” you mumbled the last part to yourself.
“What was that, bestie?” He spat out the name.
“Oh, shut up. Don’t get mad at me when you’re the one who fucking left.”
“You’re the one who didn’t go after me!”
You scoffed. “Okay, so it’s all my fault because I didn’t push through the absolute heartbreak of losing my best friend, and crush, to someone else? My bad. So sorry.”
“If you really liked me you would’ve called me out!”
“And I tried! Before Cassandra even stepped into your life I called you out for treating me differently, to acting differently when you were around different people. But you never took any of it seriously. You just brushed me off, something you’re doing right now.”
Aegon closed his eyes. “Hel, I don’t think you need to be here for this.”
There was no response from her but you heard the opening and closing of the bedroom door.
Aegon brought his hands up to rub his face. “Okay, let’s go,” he said to himself.
You rolled your eyes at his dramatics but didn’t say anything.
“I never meant to hurt you.”
“Yeah, you did that well,” you commented.
Aegon gave you a look before continuing. “I was stupid when I was younger, we both know that. I didn’t think straight and yeah, I mainly thought with my dick.”
“Your dick sure thought a lot about Cassandra.”
“Yes, it did.” He looked you in the eye. “But I know better now. Cassandra never has been the end all, be all. She’s been fun. That’s all she’s ever been.”
“That’s what you told me at the party but that’s not what I see right now. Right now, I see you engaged to someone you claim has never been serious to you.”
“She hasn’t!”
“Look at it from my perspective, Aegon. Or should I say Aegy since that’s what you’re so lovingly called.”
Aegon flinched at the nickname.
“All that I know is that you replaced me.”
“I didn’t replace you, I promise. No one could,” Aegon begged.
He reached out for your hands but you recoiled at his touch.
“How am I supposed to defend myself if you’re constantly denying me?”
“How can I? Because all your actions have proven to me that you don’t care. Maybe you did when we were younger but not anymore. That much is clear.”
Aegon’s voice broke. “I care about you. Please, I do, you have to believe that.”
“Sure.”
He took a deep breath. “Let me prove it to you then.”
Before you knew it, Aegon crashed his lips to yours. You were stunned at first but slowly melted into him. It was over as soon as it started.
“I never stopped thinking about you,” he whispered.
You closed your eyes in contentment for a quick second before pushing him away.
“A kiss? That’s how you prove it to me?”
“Actions speak louder than words, don’t they?”
“But this? Aegon, you’re engaged!”
“I’m not! I’ve been trying to tell you that. It’s all fake, Cassandra is fake. I told her should could be my fake fiance if…”
“If what?”
Aegon didn’t speak.
“Aegon, what did you do?”
“She said she’d be my fake fiance if I’d fuck her.”
“Wouldn’t think you’d mind. You always wanted her,” you laughed mirthlessly.
“That’s the thing, I do mind. I thought I wouldn’t but the whole time I was with her I was thinking about you. You’re the only one I want.”
“I’m sure you’ve discovered this after sleeping with a shit ton of other girls, right?”
“So what? In the end it’s you. It’s always been you.”
You closed your eyes before giving him a chance. “One date. I’ll give you one date.”
A smile spread across Aegon’s face before it turned back into a frown. “Aren’t you dating Aemond?”
“No, he… Aemond got roped into my insecurities and being the good guy that he is, he went all in with it. We’re not dating.”
Aegon smiled. “Good, good - I mean, not good? Maybe good?”
“It’s fine, Aegon.” You smiled back.
“I guess I should tell everyone I’m not engaged?”
“Yeah, that would probably be a good thing. Your mother is probably already planning.”
Aegon got up to leave but leaned down to give you a quick kiss on the cheek. Unlike the first kiss, this one had you blushing.
“I’ll be back,” he promised.
You laughed. “No need, Aegon. I need to talk to Helaena and Aemond anyway.”
Aegon gave you one last wink then left the room.
hello :D do you have any headcanons about the gang (if u need a specific character, then ponyboy) that you would like to share with the class >:)?
ty for being my first ask 🫶 !!
these aren't the best but hope yall enjoy nonetheless :-)
WC: 778 // not proofread
Pony:
I feel like he and Johnny are really into photography. They mostly show their pictures to each other rather than the rest of the gang, but will occasionally share what they're currently working on. when out and taking photos, they try to follow a specific theme - windows, people, trees - stuff like that.
Sometimes Ponyboy will ask Soda to take his film to be processed. If Sodapop sees a picture he really likes (usually of one of the gang since they hardly sit for photos purposely lol), he'll order an extra copy and will hang it up around the house.
Soda just thinks it's cute that pone takes pictures of everybody like that (so does Darry but he doesn't act like it, just silently thankful that someone's getting pictures of all of em)
Bro's gotta be bisexual fr
He's aware that he likes both guys and girls but doesn't question it much. Kinda nonchalant about it and wouldn't think it weird unless someone else said something.
Two-Bit:
Def steals little things for his mom and kid sister (and we love him for that)
Probably just stuff like makeup or a new doll - if he sees it and thinks they'll like it then he snags it right up, employees none the wiser
Partially motivated by him thinking he doesn't do enough for them and wants to make up for it
Since he doesn't have a job they're like hrmmm… ok.. But won't question it/confront him about it directly, just in passing sarcasm or jokes (but they know he stole it ofc)
His mom would come home from work, seeing Two's sister with a new toy or maybe a fresh loaf of bread and some jam on the counter, maybe a new lipstick on her nightstand
While she appreciates the trinkets, she wishes that he would contribute to the family a little more honestly...
Soda:
I imagine that he's really clean and cares for his personal hygiene a lot. Out of all of them, he smells the best lmao. Soda feels like his appearance is all he has going for him, and tries his best to keep up that reputation.
The week pony was missing he started slacking - missing showers, stopped combing his hair, and wore the same unkempt clothing as a result of the depression. All he wanted to do was lie in bed all day, but he had to keep carrying on, just barely.
Clearly this was way beyond his normal behavior and Darry and Steve tried getting him back on his normal routine (and failed).
He didn't freshen himself up until he read about pony in the newspaper, not wanting his kid brother to see him in that sorry state when he went to the hospital.
Darry:
Actually loves cats, but won’t admit it straight up lol.
He “finds” one on the street and decides to keep her. When asked about it, he just says they're easy to take care of so why not.
He loves how quiet and warm cats are, especially when he's reading the paper at the table before work, the house chilled by the morning's air.
Sometimes he'll fall asleep petting the kitty on his chest, leaned back in the recliner after a long day of work (lol such dad energy)
He accidentally teaches her to sit on his shoulders. Darry'd be making dinner or something and this scratchy old street cat would be sat atop his shoulder like a parrot, keeping a sure eye on whatever he's cooking.
Dal:
Slightly afraid of dogs.
He's fine with ones he's familiar with, like a friend's, but if he sees a stray on the street he's likely to hightail it outta there or walk as far away from it as possible
Random:
Before the wreck, I feel like the gang would go grocery shopping with Mrs Curtis 😭😭
Just imagine these scruffy lookin greasers trailing behind this completely unassuming lady. They definitely turn some heads, but the boys help her carry bags and such so she’s not complaining.
She knows they'll all be over for dinner at least one point in the week, so she asks them for suggestions and will send em off with leftovers if there's extras.
The gang being themselves would be goofing around obviously, until either a store employee has to step in and ask them to calm down or Mrs Curtis shoots the boys a glare that immediately sets them in line. … for the most part at least.
I imagine they’d (mostly two bit or dal) would pick up the most random, vile jar off the shelf and be like “hey can we get some uhhhhh … fermented pig’s foot?” which everyone responds with varying Hell No's and ewws
I've honestly got a ton more ideas but I'll cool it and stop here 😭 plz forgive any grammatical errors etc
So, I wrote a couple Alex general headcanons in my last Alex post
But I'll try to elaborate some more about some little headcanons with a little short blurb written at the end
So, first of all, I imagine he takes super good care of his facial hair
Like I can see him using oils and such
Have you guys seen that TikTok about the guy talking about how he makes his chest hair soft so it doesn't bother his girlfriend? Yeah
Like I said before, he is super respectful
He probably smells really good (while off duty, not is the field obv...)
I can see his as growing up in a rural community and preferring that setting as to the city
I think he is one of the only COD boys that can cook
And he likes to do this often for you
Super gentle
Early riser, loves to wake up early and cook you breakfast
Has nightmares and likes to lay his head on your chest as he calms down
Bonus points if you run your hand through his hair
Prefers to let you trim his hair
Clingy drunk with you but more of a rambunctious drunk with others
Wanted to teach you self defense and gun safety so you could protect yourself more effectively
Him saying "Yes ma'am/sir" to you casually .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.
Gives the best hugs
His love language is physical touch and words of affirmation
Ok, now for the sleepy blurb:
Alex was gone on assignment a lot. It was a fact that you had to accept before you ever entered a serious relationship with the man. He made sure to express to you how important his work was for him, trying his best to prevent any potential future arguments. You were understanding, you told him it didn't matter as long as you could be with him. You stuck by this, pushing down the ache that came everytime he had to leave again.
Yesterday, he told you he had to go on assignment again. He gave you as many details as he could but it did little to ease your worries. He said he didn't know how long he would be gone, that he had to go halfway across the world. You forced a smile and assured him that the two of you had to make this most out of this last day.
So the two of you made dinner, and talked, and laughed. He managed to make you forget that he was leaving.
The next morning, you woke up first. A rare thing not to be taken lightly. So, you laid on your side and stared at Alex's sleeping face in the orange sunlight streaming through the bedroom window. Seemingly on its own, your hand goes straight to his hair, running gently through it. He woke up slowly, eyes squinting out at you as a soft smile graced his lips.
"Good morning, baby."
You smile back, hand continuing to gently separate any knots they found, "Morning."
He moved further into your hand, humming in quiet satisfaction. With reluctance, he turns his head to check the time.
"Gotta' get up soon so I can get to the briefing in time."
Your smile immediately dropped, hand pausing. Alex immediately notices, eyes furrowing, "What's wrong?"
You force a smile and shake your head jumping up to move toward the door, "Nothing! I'll make you breakfast before you leave-"
"Hey-" He latches onto your wrist before you can move too far, "Talk to me."
The sheer look of concern on his face was what finally broke you, tears brimming in your eyes. His concerned look deepens as he shuffles to the edge of the bed to place both hands on your arms, softening his hold.
"Honey..."
"No, no, I'm-" Your voice breaks as a sob tries to climb its way up your throat.
He immediately pulls you into his chest, wrapping his arms around you tightly, "It's okay, your alright." He holds you until the sobs come to a stop, leaving gentle kisses along the crown of your hair. You don't need to say a word before he begins talking softly, "I know its hard when I have to leave."
"I'm sorry," you mutter after a minute, sniffling, "I know what you do is important."
He rubs your back, "Doesn't mean it doesn't suck."
"Yeah..."
He pulls back, gently lifting your face up to look up at him, "I'll always come back to you."
You can't think of any words to get across how thankful you are, how in love you are with this man. You jump up and kiss him, trying to convey all the feelings words can't describe. He seems to understand, immediately kissing back.
He pulls back after a few moments, eyes soft as he gently rubs your cheek, "Let's go make breakfast together."
"That sounds great."
Thanks for reading!
Part 1 Part 15
Chapter 16: A Night Out
You were in the hideout briefly. Dabi changed into his more preferred attire of his stitched jacket, matching pants, and boots. He was free of his mask and his sunglasses now, and you were grateful to finally be able to see his face again. His blue eyes looked at you with mirth when he showed up at your bedroom door. You handed him your pills and he downed them with water before crinkling the bottle and tossing it into your trash can.
“You ready?” he asked.
“Do you need me to touch up your scars first?” you asked, your brow furrowed with concern.
The ‘yes’ hung on the edge of Dabi’s tongue, the desire for relief always present, but this time he swallowed it. Wherever he was taking you, he didn’t want your sensory overload to be an issue.
“I’m fine,” he replied.
You narrowed your eyes at him. “Uh-huh... you know, that word doesn’t mean what you think it means.”
“It means that I’ve got it under control.”
You pursed your lips and looked down at your attire. It was the same one you’d been wearing earlier: jeans, a shirt, and a jacket.
“Should I change...?” you asked.
Dabi shrugged. “Do you wanna change?”
“Depends. Where are you taking me?”
“Not sure yet.” Dabi looked you over, head to toe, his eyes leaving fire in their wake across your skin. “You look great. Let’s get outta here.”
You were too flustered to argue, so you followed him down the stairs and out the door into the night air. A gentle mist of rain was falling down slowly, coating everything in a diamond dust of dew drops.
“We might get soaked tonight...” you commented.
“You worry too much,” Dabi replied as he put his arm over your shoulder again.
A smirk played at your lips. “And you don’t worry enough.”
Your hand came up to interlock your fingers with his comfortably. Right now, you didn’t want to dwell on what it meant; you just wanted to enjoy the contact that he was suddenly offering so freely.
“Then we’re perfect for each other,” he teased.
Your skin burned hot at his flirting and he glanced at you, taking in the surprised look on your face that you struggled to bury. He smirked.
“Let’s get some dinner first,” he continued. “What d’ya want?”
“What can we afford?”
Dabi flashed the fat wad of cash nestled in the inner coat pocket against his chest. “Whatever we want. My treat.”
Your eyes bulged. “Dabi! Where did you get that??”
Dabi scoffed. “Did ya think I was just checking out your cute ass while I was walking behind you all day?”
“I— What??”
“Gotta make a living somehow, sweetheart. I’m an expert pickpocket, remember?”
You did remember. But right now, Dabi pickpocketing was the last thing on your mind. He was getting under your skin on purpose, and you were enjoying it. It felt like old times, before things had gotten... complicated.
“Pick your poison, doll. What’re ya feelin’?”
“Hmmm... how about sushi?” you suggested.
Dabi grimaced. “Uhhh, gotta confession. I hate fish.”
You laughed. “How can you be Japanese and hate fish? It’s like a cultural staple.”
Dabi wrinkled his nose. “It tastes... fishy. And slimy. And I hate the way it smells.”
You laughed again. “Okay, not sushi then. How about ramen?”
“Didn’t we have that recently? Twice?”
“Yeah, because it’s delicious. I could probably live off ramen, to be honest...”
“Hm.”
You rolled your eyes. “Okay, smartass, what do you want to eat?”
“I know just the spot. We gotta hop on the bus, though.”
“Lead the way.”
A few minutes later, you stepped off the bus to see a small little restaurant. Its entire front was a large window that was open to the street, with a counter and bar stools attached into the cement. An animated neon sign of a ramen bowl danced on its low roofline.
“I thought you didn’t want ramen?” you asked confused.
“Surpriiise.” Dabi singsonged. You began crossing the street together. “The owner is a bit rough around the edges, and a total alcoholic. But his ramen is the best I’ve had.”
A canopy overhang allowed for protection from the drizzling as the two of you sat down at the counter.
“Oy,” said a gruff voice. You looked up to see an old man with what remained of his hair pulled back into a ponytail and tattoos up to his jaw line. “You again.”
“Long time no see.” Dabi replied.
The man nodded at you. “Who’s this?”
“A friend.”
Your heart sank in your chest at the label, and then you cursed yourself for being an idiot. Of course you were friends. All of this – helping you through your panic attack, letting you lean on him on the ride home, taking you out to get your mind off things... it was Dabi being a good friend.
A friend who held your hand.
A friend who put his arm around your shoulder.
A friend who almost kissed you the night before...
You refocused your attention when Dabi nudged you with his elbow. “Huh??”
“What do you want?” Dabi repeated.
The old man waved his hand dismissively. “Don’t worry, I’ve got just the thing.” Then he set down a bowl of edamame for you to share and immediately began preparing the food.
“Wait, what just happened?” you asked.
Dabi laughed. “You took too long deciding so he decided for you.”
“Oh.”
“You want something to drink?”
You stared at the list of beverages. “Beer. Sapporo?”
Dabi’s grin widened. “Oh, loosening up now, are we?” He put the order in, holding up two of his fingers. A moment later, two tall, ice-cold beer cans were placed in front of you.
You took a sip, letting the carbonation and flavor play on your tongue. You didn’t answer right away, unease swimming in your chest. You took a few more sips.
“Dabi...” you finally probed. He looked at you sideways as he drank. “Why are you doing this?”
What is this to you?
Dabi set the can down and began to fiddle with it, his fingers wiping patterns into the condensation.
“Because I didn’t want to go back there either. We were both stir-crazy in that place. Figured it was time to stretch our legs a little. Tonight should just be about having fun.”
“Well...” you smiled. “If that’s the case, you know what I want?”
Dabi looked at you attentively, his eyes trying to pry the answer before your lips could give it. “What?” he replied.
“I want to get drunk.”
Dabi let out a surprised laugh.
Your grin widened. “Like, stupid drunk.”
“Wasted?”
“Absolutely shitfaced.” You grinned into your beer as you drank more of it down, letting it wash over the knot you felt in your gut.
Dabi laughed again. “I think we can manage that.” He took another swig of his beer. “This’ll be fun...” he muttered.
You didn’t want to think about anything tonight. You didn’t want to worry. And you didn’t want to rehash what had happened earlier during the day. All you wanted was a break, a night to feel like a normal person, to be able to feel like you were a part of the world again.
So, you drank, and laughed, and ate. Dabi was right. It was the best ramen you’d ever had. Thirty minutes later, your stomach was now full and happy, and your veins hummed warmly with the first beer you drank. Just as you finished your can, another took its place.
You stared at it. “What’s this?”
Dabi held up his new can in a toast. “You said you wanted to get wasted. Cheers.”
“Oh God...” you laughed. “But I’m so full...”
“Don’t worry, doll. We got all night.”
“Really?”
Dabi shrugged. “Not unless you got plans with someone else,” he teased.
You laughed. “Trust me, you have nothing to worry about in that department.”
“Not even your dealer friend from earlier?” Dabi prodded curiously.
“Yatsu??”
“You two even have nicknames for each other. How cute.” he commented dryly, his stiff grin never reaching his eyes.
You rolled your eyes. “Uh, nooo.... I mean, there’s history there, but... it’s long past.”
The shop owner refilled the small bowl of edamame. Dabi grabbed one and skinned it with his teeth.
“Yeah?” he said, “I’d be curious to hear that story...”
You laughed. “Not much to it, really... Yatsumoto was interested but I wasn’t.”
“Really?” Dabi’s sarcasm dripped heavy. “An upstanding guy like that?”
“I wasn’t too interested in relationships back then. Very single focused on my research at the time. Besides,” — you took a swig of your drink and then leaned into Dabi, your voice dropping to a whisper — “he’s not really my type.”
You picked up an edamame shell and ate the soybeans from it.
“Oh yeah? What is your type then?”
‘Someone tall, dark, and handsome with the world’s biggest daddy issues.’
You thought it, but didn’t say it.
A grin started on Dabi’s lips, a mischievous glint in his half-lidded eyes. “Maybe someone who’s in horrible need of chapstick?”
Shigaraki instantly came to your mind, and you laughed. You threw the empty edamame shell at Dabi. “What?? No.”
Dabi’s grin widened. “Hmm, maybe someone with a wide variety of personalities...”
“You’re terrible.”
“Or maybe someone who knows magic tricks.”
“Oh my God, no. Compress is like a brother to me, that’s so weird.”
Instant elation filled Dabi’s veins, but he tamped it down, keeping his expression neutral. Instead, he grabbed another edamame. “Coulda fooled me; you two seem close.”
“That’s because he’s the one who recruited me into the League,” you replied. “He saved my life a while back.”
Dabi’s amusement fell apart at this new piece of information. His smirk was gone, his expression neutral.
“What happened?” he asked.
“Not long after I’d been kicked out of the university, my place got broken into. I came home when the robbers were still there, shuffling through my things.” You shuddered at the memory. “They saw me, I saw them, and I ran. They chased me down the stairs and outside... It was Compress who stopped them, popping up out of nowhere. I probably would have been killed if he didn’t show up...”
Dabi’s mind rolled over the information, filing it next to all the other little facts he’d gathered about you.
“Do you know what they were after?” he asked.
A half smile curled your lip that didn’t reach your eyes. “They weren’t going through my bathroom or bedroom looking for jewelry or digging through my bags for cash. One of them had my laptop, and the other was shuffling through papers.”
“They were after your research.”
You snapped finger guns at him. “Bingo.”
Dabi took a long draw of his beer and you followed suit. He stared into the can as he swirled its contents slowly. “So how does your brother fit into all of this?”
You had begun to raise your beer can to your lips, but you hesitated, then lowered it back down to the counter. “He was the reason for my research. I wanted to help him, figure out how to make it so that his quirk couldn’t hurt himself or anyone else ever again. And I needed to prove that he wasn’t a bad person. That it was his quirk manifesting itself, forcing itself to be expressed.”
Dabi stared at you for a long moment. “What was his quirk?”
You hesitated again, and Dabi began to have second thoughts about his questioning. Tonight was supposed to be about having fun, and at this moment, you weren’t smiling. The gentle misting began to transition into heavier drops, the sound drumming on the canopy above you.
Dabi opened his mouth to rescind his question, but you answered before he could.
“Others called it Mind Flay, but he called it Tabula Rasa.”
“Blank Slate,” Dabi hummed. “That doesn’t sound pleasant.”
“It wasn’t,” you replied. “He had the ability to make people literally lose their minds. Like, one moment they’d be themselves, and the next moment, they’d be a dumb, drooling mess. Like he wiped them clean, basically turning them into vegetables.”
Dabi fell silent as his mind ran through the ramifications of such a quirk. “When did it manifest?”
You gave a sardonic laugh. “The same age it did for everyone else; at around 4 years old.”
Dabi let out a low whistle. Kids were small, emotional creatures. A child having that level of power...
Dabi wondered who the first victim was. A family member? A classmate? A teacher?
You drank more of your beer as if it helped you get the words out. “He was older than me,” you explained. “He was in and out of institutions for years, so I didn’t see him very much. My parents put him through every kind of therapy imaginable, every quirk suppression program. They’d think it worked, but then it’d happen all over again. Like he couldn’t help himself. It’d come out when he was angry... or when he was protective...”
You swallowed, and Dabi realized you had tears in your eyes.
“We don’t gotta talk about this.” he said.
You gave a small laugh and wiped at your eyes. “Sorry,” you replied.
Dabi gave a dry laugh. “You did it again.”
“What?”
“Apologized when you didn’t need to.”
“Oh,” you laughed.
Dabi cut you off before the words could fall from your lips again. “Don’t say it.”
You laughed and gave him a light shove. “Get out of my head.”
You were smiling again; and it made the pressure sitting on Dabi’s chest ease slightly.
“I shouldn’t have asked,” he said.
“I don’t mind. I just...” you stared into your beer can. “I might need more alcohol than this if you want to hear the rest.”
Dabi gave a small smile. “I know a place.”
He paid the bill, finished the last of his beer, and the two of you left the protection of the canopy to venture out into the rain. You held onto his arm and pressed yourself against his side against the cold as the two of you made your way down the street. He skipped the first bar, knowing they overcharged for their alcohol, and then ushered you quickly into the next one.
It was busy, a small dive bar packed with bodies, the sound of pool balls being struck at the opposite end of the room. Music played loudly over the speakers, blending in with the hum of multiple drunken conversations. Dabi managed to spot an open bar stool and squeezed you onto it. He remained standing next to you and had to put his mouth to your ear to ask you what you wanted. You had to do the same to answer him, and he leaned across the counter to give your orders to the bartender.
A moment later, your drinks were in front of you.
“Aren’t you worried about being recognized here?” you shouted into Dabi’s ear.
Dabi leaned close to speak. “Nah, not here. This side of town doesn’t give two shits. Half of the people here are wanted by the Hero Commission anyway.” You stared at him with uncertainty, and he leaned in even closer, his hand warm on your back. “You’re safe, doll. I promise.”
So, you sat and drank, the place too loud to carry a conversation. Eventually the seat next to you opened up and Dabi took it.
A couple of drinks later, and you were feeling the effects of the alcohol much more. You felt more liquid than person, and you swayed slightly to the thrumming of music that played over the speakers, barely audible over the din of the space. Dabi watched you silently with a half-lidded gaze, his eyes always observing. You didn’t bring up your brother again, and Dabi didn’t ask, determined to keep the smile on your face for as long as possible.
After a little while, he leaned over to speak to you.
“Do you play pool?” he asked.
“What?”
“Pool.” he repeated.
You looked over at the pool table and noticed it was empty. In fact, the entire bar had a little less people in it, some of the patrons deciding to continue their bar hopping elsewhere. Still, it remained plenty busy, and you knew the table would get snagged up immediately.
Before you could answer, Dabi grabbed your hand and yanked you off the bar stool. Before you got too far, you grabbed your drink from the counter and brought it with you.
You stared at the table in front of you as Dabi grabbed a couple of cue sticks from the wall.
“This is a bad idea,” you chuckled.
Dabi looked up at you as he began setting the balls into the triangle. “Why?”
“Because I’m fucking drunk, Dabi...” you laughed.
“You? Drunk?” he teased. He stepped closer to you and held up his fingers. “How many fingers am I holding up?”
You rolled your eyes. “Three.”
“Eh, you’re fine.”
“Wait, did I get it right??” you asked.
Dabi’s grin widened and he refused to answer. “Do you wanna break or should I?”
“Hm, you go first. I’m waiting for the room to stop spinning.”
“Suit yourself.” Dabi hit the cue ball and the triangle of balls burst in all directions. The purple ball fell into the corner pocket. “You’re stripes.”
You puffed air out of your cheeks and took a sip of your drink for courage. You stepped up to the table, lined up your cue stick, and missed horribly.
Dabi laughed, and you shot him a glare.
“I told you I was too drunk for this.”
“C’mon doll, you’re just a lil’ rusty,” he chided. Dabi lined up his next shot and sank another ball.
“How are you so good at this?” you complained. “And how am I drunker than you??”
“Experience,” he replied.
You mimicked his response with a bratty tone and a scrunched-up face. “Experience. Please.”
You lined up your shot, and this time you hit the ball, but barely, the cue stick sideswiping. It caused the ball to spin off at the wrong angle before bouncing off one of Dabi’s, causing his to roll into the side pocket.
“Hey, thanks for that.” he commented.
“I swear to God, Dabi. If you don’t stop with your commentary, it’s gonna be your balls next.”
Dabi burst into laughter at your empty threat. “Based on your hits tonight, I don’t think I’m too worried about it.”
You gave a shocked laugh. “You’re an asshole.”
“Oh, c’mon doll. Don’t be like that. Tell you what, I’ll give you a free shot.” He coaxed as he leaned on his cue stick.
You narrowed your eyes at him and took your position again. Just as you were about to strike, Dabi interrupted.
“Hold on.”
“What?”
“Your form is all wrong.”
“Shut up, no it’s not.”
Dabi put his hands up in defense. “Okay, sure. Go for it.”
You squinted at him, half to get your vision to focus and half to glare at him. You repositioned yourself again, but now doubt and two failures loomed over you. Finally, you cursed and stood up.
“Damn it. Okay, fine. Show me what I’m doing wrong.”
“You’re not holding your cue stick right,” he commented.
“What do you mean?”
Dabi modeled for you. You tried to imitate, but hand-eye coordination was getting more and more difficult. He chuckled at your attempt and leaned his cue stick against the table. Then he came up behind you, his hands on your hips.
His touch sent a shock of pleasure through you, and you sidestepped out of his hold. “What are you doing??” you demanded, your eyes wide.
“Relax, doll,” he laughed. “I’m gonna help you.”
You let him get in position behind you, his body lining up with yours. You could feel his breath on your ear, and it made every nerve sing at peak frequency. He placed his hands over yours, setting up your hand along your cue stick.
“You hold it like this, and...” -- Dabi slowly moved the stick back and forth within your hands -- “you hit it like this.” He pointed to the middle and the bottom of the cue ball. “You’ll want to hit the ball here or here. Got it?”
You glanced at him, and instantly realized how close his face was to yours, your nose practically brushing his when you turned your head to look him in the eye. His hand was on your waist, and all you could think about was closing the distance to kiss him. But he broke his gaze with you and nodded at the pool table.
“Give it a try.”
Dabi stayed next to you, his body lined up with yours as you lined up your shot and took it the way he showed you. This time, you hit the ball you wanted, but it bounced off the edge, and hit the eight ball.
“Wha... NO!” you yelled as the black ball rolled into a pocket.
That was it. That was the game. Dabi won.
“Wow. That was actually impressive how bad that was.”
You smacked his chest with the back of your hand. “I told you I was too drunk for this.”
“Hey, at least you hit the ball…”
You stuck your tongue out at him and took another sip of your drink. He cocked his head to the side as he looked at you.
“How’re you feelin’?”
“Good,” you replied with a smile.
“Good. Let’s try again.”
“Nooo,” you whined.
“C’mon, don’t be a sore loser. I thought you wanted to have fun,” he teased. “Besides, that was barely a game.”
“Ugh, fine. But don’t they have like... cards here or something?”
“I’d probably win at that too. Something tells me my poker face is better than yours.”
“You are so full of yourself, aren’t you?”
Dabi chuckled as he set up the balls again. “You break this time.”
You lined up your stick and hit the cue ball, sending the balls scattering.
Time passed as you played, Dabi refilling your drink when you asked as you bantered with him between turns. Your skills improved slightly, with Dabi giving you tips here and there. But the progress was hindered by the way you had difficulty focusing and the way your body didn’t always move the way you intended it to. You made it through two games, with Dabi beating you both times before you finally gave up, the floor beneath your feet pitching much more than it had before.
“I quit,” you finally said.
You leaned on your cue stick, your body swaying slightly. Dabi was next to you, so you took the opportunity to lean against his chest to ground yourself. But between the alcohol, stuffy bar, and his body heat, you pushed him away almost immediately.
“Ugh, you’re too hot,” you complained.
Dabi chuckled. “Come on…”
He took you back to the bar and you sat down onto the barstool with less grace than you’d had before. It wasn’t your fault; the damn thing seemed to move. There were no other seats again, so he stood next to you like before.
You laid your head on the counter, letting the cool, smooth surface soothe your forehead.
“She okay?” the bartender asked.
Dabi nudged you. “You okay?” he repeated.
With your head still down, you gave a thumbs up.
“She’s good,” he replied.
You zoned out to the sound of the bar noise and the music playing, your body swaying slightly to the beat. A moment later, a glass of water appeared in front of you.
“What’s this?” you demanded.
“Water, drink up,” Dabi ordered.
You shook your head. “Nuh-uh.”
“Your call... you’re gonna feel like shit tomorrow.”
“Where’s my drink?” you asked, looking around bleary-eyed.
“You finished it.”
“Oh. It was good, can I have another?”
Dabi stared at you for a long moment. Then he pushed the water glass towards you. “Drink, doll. You’ll thank me later. Then I’ll order more.”
You grumbled but drank it anyway. As promised, Dabi ordered you another drink, and you gave a happy wiggle as you began to drink it.
Dabi leaned against the bar counter with his head propped in his hand. He stared at you.
You narrowed your eyes at him. “What?”
“I like you like this.”
“What? Drunk?” you teased.
“Happy,” he corrected.
You stilled for a moment as you looked at him.
“It’s because I’m with you,” you confessed.
Your answer seemed to surprise him, his eyes widening slightly as his grin faltered. He gave a scoff. “I’m sure the alcohol is helping too.”
“Shut up and take the compliment,” you retorted. “I’m happy with you. You make me happy.”
Dabi’s cheeks were starting to hurt from how much you were making him grin, the bruise and the torn skin thrumming low. “You’re repeating yourself now.”
“It’s so you’ll listen to me,” you replied adamantly as you took another sip. Your thoughts were more fluid now, your usual filters and reservations carried away on the current of booze in your system.
“I think…” you started thoughtfully, “I thought going back to the hide out would help me feel better. But...”
“But it didn’t.”
You shook your head. “I looked at that place and I just felt... lonely.”
“And you don’t feel lonely now?” Dabi asked.
You shook your head again and leaned against his shoulder. “I feel safe.”
Dabi froze under the contact as your confessions fought with his own denials. You weren’t safe with him. He was unstable and violent and he didn’t deserve your trust.
But you were smiling now, and he couldn’t say that.
He turned his body towards you slightly to put his arm around your shoulders, and you nuzzled comfortably against his chest.
“You ready to go back?” he asked.
“Not yet,” you whined.
“You sure? You’re looking awfully shiftfaced now.”
“No, I’m not!”
“Says the girl falling asleep over her glass...”
You sat up and pushed against his chest with your hands. “Shut up.” Then, your eyes lit up with an idea. “Oh! I know! You know what I want?”
Dabi quirked an eyebrow at you. “More alcohol?”
You pointed at him. “Yes. But also, I want to dance.”
Dabi’s grin vanished immediately. “What??”
“I want to go dancing!” you repeated. “C’mon Dabi, pleeaassee?”
Dabi stared at you with a mixture of amusement and disbelief.
Dabi was familiar with the club scene. He used to visit it frequently before the League, chasing quick highs and whatever chick would spare him a passing glance in an effort to drown his pain in a few cheap hours of euphoria. He knew just the place to go, a place that was safe for people like him, where they didn’t really care about IDs or police records, where cash and drugs were the only currency that mattered.
But it’d been a long time since he’d been there, and the place was filled with temptations and potential dangers. It was no place for someone like you.
Besides, you already looked ready to fall over.
“I bet you can’t even walk straight.”
“Yes I can!”
“Okay, prove it. If you can walk out of here without help and without bumping into anyone, then I’ll take you dancing.”
It was a tall order as the world tilted on its axis around you, but you were stubborn and determined.
Dancing. To be able to finally move your body, to feel the freedom of music against your skin. You hadn’t realized how wound tight you’d been since you’d lost everything and joined the League. It’d been nonstop healing, and sneaking around, and hiding away. Dancing, even for a little bit, to lose yourself to movement and be just another face in the crowd, sounded like just what you needed.
With determination, you stood up from your stool. The motion instantly made you lightheaded, and you swayed on your feet, balance eluding you. Dabi’s arms were out in an instant, catching you, and you fell against his chest in a fit of giggles.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought.”
“No, no,” you giggled. “I can do this.”
“Doll, you already failed the test.”
“Shh!” you put a finger to his lips, but now the giggles had you and you couldn’t stop them.
Dabi’s arms were around your waist as your arms hung around his neck. You swayed in his hold, the motion soothing. Your vision focused on him, and for once you allowed yourself to blatantly stare at his beauty, at the shape of his jaw, the color of his eyes, even the staples along his cheeks. Your thoughts made their way seamlessly from your brain to your mouth.
“You’re really hot,” you cooed.
“Yeah, you told me earlier.”
“No, I mean, like... you’re hot. Like attractive, hot. It’s unfair how hot you are.”
Dabi, for all of his self-control, couldn’t stop the heat from warming his cheeks, and he forced a laugh as he began to untangle your fingers from his neck. The way your eyes were looking at him, the way your tongue peeked out to wet your lips...
“Okay, now I know you’re shitfaced.”
“Shut up, it’s true.”
“Everyone looks more attractive when you’re drunk.”
You looked around at all the other faces at the bar. “That’s not true...” you muttered.
Dabi laughed again while internally his mind was spinning. You were going to be the death of him. God, he wished you were saying this shit while you were sober... he wondered if you’d even remember any of it.
He sighed. “Let’s get you home.”
“But what about the dancing??”
“We’ll have to save it for another time.”
You pouted as Dabi began to lead you out of the bar. The realization that your evening of fun was coming to an end made the weight of dread return to your shoulders. Tears pricked your eyes as you began to leave.
You didn’t want this to end. You didn’t want to stop being with Dabi, spending time with him like this. You didn’t want to go back to that stuffy hotel with your medical bag and PTSD waiting for you.
Once you stepped outside, Dabi let go of your hand and walked ahead of you. The cold night air began to clear your head slightly. Everything was coated in rainwater now as the low, heavy clouds passed over you, painted in the yellowish-brown light of the city; but there was a lull in the rainfall that gave a much-needed reprieve and brought a heavy hush upon the quiet street compared to the boisterous bar inside.
You inhaled the air deep into your lungs, letting the damp crispness cool your blood. You stared ahead of you at Dabi, donned in his black coat, his black hair lit under the streetlamp. He turned to look at you, and for a moment you stood still and stared. He was picturesque, the most beautiful thing you’d ever seen.
“What?” he asked.
“I...” you swallowed, a million different responses piling onto your tongue at once.
I don’t want to go back.
I want to be with you a little longer.
I want you to kiss me.
I never should have left last night...
God, you cared for him. You cared for him more than you had let yourself realize. But now, here away from the chaos, with your worries subdued under liquor and fresh air, you understood just how incredibly head over heels you were for him. It scared you, because he was not someone you ever thought you’d fall for. He was self-destructive, broken, and single-minded in his obsession. It left little space in his heart for anything else. But he was also intelligent, highly self-aware, and surprisingly kind, in his own way. You’d begun to see a side to him that you hadn’t known existed before, and it was a side that only you ever seemed to witness, something that was reserved special for you. You felt protected by it, cared for. In a world that had tried to erase you, he somehow made you feel... wanted.
All you could think as you stood there unable to answer, was that you wanted to be with him always.
Dabi’s dark brows furrowed and he stepped close to you, his eyes looking over your face through his black bangs. His thumb came up and brushed fresh tears from your cheek.
“Why are you cryin’ again, doll?” His voice was deep, coating you like honey, and you closed your eyes to let it wash over you.
You hadn’t realized you were crying; you hadn’t felt the tears fall, too focused on your emotions as your skin hummed like an aura around you. You could still feel the ghost of his touch on your cheek, even though he’d already lowered his hand.
You shook your head in disbelief. So much you wanted to say, but you couldn’t say any of it. Not without scaring him away. If he learned how deeply you felt about him...
You’re not my type.
You understood those words more clearly, now. It wasn’t that you weren’t his type; it was that Dabi didn’t have a type. He wasn’t someone who would commit, who would settle down. He couldn’t even picture a future for himself beyond taking down his father.
But you didn’t want to face that either, because that train of thought only led to more heartache. What you wanted was to remember the way he put his arm over your shoulder, the way he wiped your tears from your cheeks, from the way he’d hovered over you the night before, his eyes drinking you in as if you were all he wanted. You wanted to hold his hand, to lean against him as you sat together, to bask in his attention a bit longer.
“I...” you started again. “I’m not ready. I’m not ready to go back.”
Dabi stared at you, his expression unreadable, and you could tell he was deciding on what to do next. He looked around, taking in his surroundings, and checked the time on his phone. It was late, but not terribly; there were at least another couple of hours before the public transportation systems shut down for the night.
“You wanna dance that badly?” he asked.
What you wanted was more time to pretend. To pretend that this was more than what it was, to pretend that you were two regular people enjoying each other’s company and seeing where things went without worry or consequence about what sat on the horizon.
“I... I just want a little more time,” you whispered, “to feel normal.”
Dabi stepped even closer, his body inches from yours. His long fingers brushed a stray strand of hair from your forehead, his eyes following his action.
“You’re the most normal girl I’ve ever known.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle at the odd compliment, and Dabi’s lips turned up at the corners slightly.
“If we stay out longer, I might need more of your pills. Do you have any on you?”
You anticipated this possibility and pulled the small Ziplock bag out of your pocket. Dabi took the pills you offered, noting the few remaining. You tried not to stare too intently at the way he placed them onto his tongue and swallowed them, but you were pretty sure you were failing at being discrete.
He put his arm over your shoulder. “Come on.”
Warmth swelled from his touch, and a great wave of euphoric victory washed over you. Your smile came back.
“Where are we going?” you asked.
“Dancing.”
Dabi led you towards the train station where he grabbed a quick snack from the vending machine and a drink. Once you were seated in the empty train car, you ate as you watched the city lights pass by. While you watched the city, Dabi watched you. He watched the way your eyes lit up, the longing in them as you looked out at what used to be your home, at a world that you’d been cut off from.
Normal. You wanted to be normal. And Dabi meant what he’d said. You were as normal as they came. You never belonged with the League, but you did it out of necessity. The way you talked about it made it sound like a cage, and the more Dabi thought about it, the more he realized that for you, it probably was.
He wondered what you would be like if you could have your freedom again. If you could exist without fear, without worry, without pain. How much brighter would your smile be? How much happier would you feel? He could picture it; you, successful and happy, with a career, a home, a family... you seemed like the type that would want a family.
But no matter how much he tried, he couldn’t picture himself there with you. His future didn’t hold the potential that yours did, and he didn’t want the things that he assumed you wanted. No matter which way he looked at it, he didn’t belong there, his dark shadow blocking out the light that you desperately needed to flourish.
And yet, for some reason, you always shined brightest when you were with him. You were happiest with him. You’d even said so with your own words. The safety that you’d been seeking before wasn’t at the hotel; it was with him.
His mind and his heart couldn’t reconcile the two realities. They co-existed in his consciousness, yet their edges never touched.
You wanted to feel normal, but Dabi knew that normal would no longer be possible for you. Not after what had happened to you, how they had tried to erase you. There was nothing for you to go back to, not with hero society being what it was, the status quo still locked in place and the people who hurt you still in power.
Dabi mourned his past while you mourned your future.
So, you wanted to pretend tonight. Dabi couldn’t blame you. That’s why he changed his mind, even though discomfort and warning bells nagged at the back of his consciousness. That was why he took your pills so that he could stave off any temptation he might feel once you both reached your new destination. It was the only option available that he had in order to give you want you wanted.
He’d let you pretend. And maybe... just for a little bit... Dabi could pretend too. He could set aside his identities of Dabi and Touya, stashing them away to a deep, dark place inside himself. They would never be gone from him entirely but, maybe tonight, he could quiet their screaming for just a little while. He could pretend, take on a third, unnamed identity. No one important, just some guy having a night out with a girl that he had a crush on.
You stepped off the train with Dabi into a different neighborhood. More bars lined the streets here, more people walked the sidewalks. The heavy thrums of music spilled out of open club doors into the streets where people lined up for entry.
Dabi led you along with his arm over your shoulder, keeping you close to him. It was as if he were making sure you didn’t get separated from him, lost in the throngs of drunken passersby. And it was a good call, too... you were still very much tipsy, your balance uneven as you followed along. Your eyes kept getting distracted by the things around you, and Dabi had to guide you around oncoming strangers more than once.
“Careful, doll,” he muttered.
“Sorry,” you said off-handedly. His hand gave your shoulder a small squeeze.
You were looking around, trying to guess which club he would take you to. Instead, he turned down a dark alley.
“Wait, what...?”
“Just trust me.”
So you did, letting him guide you until you found a back door entrance with a line of strangers waiting.
“What is this place?”
“It’s a special place for people like us,” he replied. Then he grinned down at you. “What, do you think villains are just constantly fighting and stealing all the time?”
You smiled and leaned against him as you waited. The closer you got, the more anxious you felt, a mixture of fear and excitement. You could feel the music in your feet now, could hear how the building seemed to vibrate from the bass that spilled out of the open door.
“You still got those extra pills on you?” Dabi asked, his eyes ahead.
“Yeah, why?”
“Hand ‘em over.”
You hesitated, and Dabi looked down at you.
“They’re not for me, doll. Money’s not the only currency here, and that stack of cash I had is gonna dry up if we’re not careful. We still gotta be able to get back later.”
Discomfort stirred across your skin, but you pulled out the pills and handed the bag to him anyway.
“Good girl,” he muttered as he pocketed them.
The reaction your body had to those two simple words was astronomical, heat washing over you and moisture pooling between your legs. It took you by surprise, and you bit your lip to keep yourself composed as you took another step forward in the line.
It wasn’t long before it was your turn to go in. You had expected them to check ID, but instead, Dabi talked to the man guarding the door in low whispers. A few words and an exchange of bills and the pills and you were finally in.
The atmosphere smothered you instantly, invading all of your senses. The noise, the smell, the heat, the vibrations, the flashing lights and smoke... It was overwhelming at first, but Dabi kept his arm over you, guiding you through it. Your eyes took it all in, watching people dancing, grinding, making out. You averted your eyes, realizing exactly what you’d gotten yourself into and who you were with.
You turned your attention back ahead when Dabi stopped, and you realized he’d found the bar.
“I’m gonna need a drink before we do this,” he commented, his voice loud to override the noise. “You want one?”
Yes. Yes, you definitely needed another drink.
You nodded at him.
“Whad’ya want? Better make it strong, this is probably our last one for tonight,” he replied as he checked the money left in his hand. The stack was significantly thinner than when you first started.
You gave him your order, picking something that would taste awful but be highly effective. He grinned at you and gave the order to the bartender. A minute later, you both had your own drinks. You took a sip of yours and grimaced.
“You’re not gonna scold me?” he teased, holding his drink up for emphasis.
You scoffed. “Would it make a difference?” you asked.
Dabi laughed. “Not really.”
“Exactly.”
Dabi’s shoulder bumped yours playfully. “Don’t worry, doll. I’ll get you home safe.”
A small smile tugged at your lips. “I know you will,” you replied.
You watched the people on the dance floor with longing as you sipped at your drink, waiting for the effects to kick in. You needed to be drunk enough to not care about how you danced or who was watching. You need to be drunk enough to be able to nearly forget yourself and all your troubles.
While you watched the dance floor, Dabi kept an eye out for any potential trouble. His eyes caught a couple popping pills in their mouths and chasing it with alcohol. Further away, a group of girls bent over a table, snorting white powder into their noses off their makeup mirrors. In this place, no one cared what anyone else did, as long as they didn’t start any fights.
Dabi’s arm around your shoulder tightened as he looked away, angling you slightly so the groups were behind you. He didn’t want you to see it. He didn’t want you to see any of it. Because as soon as you did, he knew you’d want to leave, your worry over him greater than your desire for freedom.
And Dabi understood why. He could feel the pull of it, the drag of the old familiar behaviors brought forth by old memories of a time when he didn’t care about consequences. If he were by himself, he probably wouldn’t be able to resist it, the temptation too great. But this time, he had you with him, and it was you that kept him grounded.
It was excruciating waiting; he finished his drink long before yours, knowing the sooner he finished it, the sooner it would hit, and the sooner he’d be able to sober up later. It mixed with your pills in his gut and he could feel the lightheadedness, could feel the numbness settle over him comfortably. His scars didn’t hurt, and the headaches and nausea that came and went each time your medication wore off was once again silent.
But he still had enough awareness to realize how stupid he was being, the risk he was taking by bringing you here. He was being a damn idiot just to make you happy and keep you smiling. What if he fucked up again? What if he couldn’t stop himself? What if he got caught up in something and you ended up getting hurt tonight?
That single possibility lingered in his mind, and he used it to shackle himself to you, using your presence as a lifeline. He refused to let it happen. He’d never be able to forgive himself if it did.
He watched as you finally finished the last of your drink. Your body was loose and untethered again, and you swayed subconsciously to the music.
“You ready?” he asked.
The sooner he could get you out onto the dance floor, the easier all of this would be for him. He’d let you dance, you’d get what you needed out of your system, and then he’d take you home.
He just needed to not see it. He needed to be distracted. He needed to stay focused on you.
You stared at him, eyes wide with hesitancy. But there was longing there as well, hidden behind the glassiness of your eyes.
“Yeah,” you finally answered.
He let you lead the way, allowing you to pick your way through the crowd to find a space where you could squeeze in. Dabi followed behind you, his hand on your waist to make sure you didn’t get lost and to make sure no one else tried to approach you.
The music was upbeat and fast paced, the kind that made people want to jump and sway and sing. Your body fell into it naturally, carried along on the beat.
Dabi stood, his body frozen to distraction as he watched you move. Your eyes were closed, every part of you in motion, and he could tell that you were happy as your mouth sang the lyrics. It was as if he weren’t even there, or more like you weren’t there anymore, just a vessel through which the music moved through. It was a tide that you ebbed and flowed with, and Dabi was the rock.
You loved to dance. Dabi had never even thought about it before; he’d never once asked himself what it was that you liked, what you enjoyed. And the more he thought about it, the more he realized how little he really knew about you. It only made the curiosity burn brighter, hotter.
What else made you happy?
You pulled him back to reality with a tug of your hand, your eyes and face alight with joy.
“Dance with me!” you pleaded.
So, he did, his body coming up to fit behind yours. He let you set the motions, let your hips lead his as his arm wrapped around your waist. His body burned like fire everywhere your bodies touched, and he let it consume him, let himself get lost between you and the music, finding solace in a place where time had no meaning and all that mattered was the movement, the rhythm, the feel and smell of your skin.
The songs changed, blending from one to the next as you danced together, heady from alcohol and arousal. You stopped thinking, you stopped worrying. You let yourself drift in happiness with Dabi pressed against you, his body like a brand against your skin that burned itself into your soul. You were tingling, your skin singing everywhere.
The palms of Dabi’s hands grazed the curve of your shoulders and down your arms until they found their home on your hips, his fingers curling around and bringing you flush against him as you danced. The movement of your bodies were different now, changing, evolving. And faintly, you realized that a threshold was being crossed, a line drawn in the sand that was being etched away with each hot breath across the shell of your ear. You could feel Dabi’s belt buckle against your lower back, could feel the denim of his jeans and the firmness beneath it that had made itself at home against the curve of your ass, and all you could think of was how you wanted more, more, more.
Every inch of you began to tighten like a coil, and you weren’t the only one. Dabi lowered his head until his nose was brushing the crook of your neck, his lips ghosting over your shoulder but never quite touching, never actually reaching out and...
Your movements together slowed to a standstill as people continued to dance around you. Dabi tucked his nose behind the shell of your ear, the breath from his lips tickling your neck in ragged gusts.
He was holding back. Every fiber of Dabi’s being was pulled tight as he fought every natural urge that coursed through his veins.
Your hand reached up to tangle your fingers into his hair soothingly. It was hot and sweaty, the strands sticking between your fingers. You scratched at his scalp, and he hummed, the vibration echoing in your own chest.
“You okay?” you said just loud enough for him to hear.
He growled low and his grip tightened, fingers digging into the plush of your hips, causing your breath to hitch.
“You’re driving me fucking crazy.”
You turned in his arms to look at him, and he stared back, his ocean eyes glowing with hunger. You put your arms around his neck, and you moved in a gentle sway, even as the music continued to pound loudly and quickly around you.
“Am I now?” you grinned.
Dabi’s eyes narrowed at you.
His hands gripped your ass and pushed you tight against him until there was no mistaking just how crazy you were making him, just how badly he wanted you.
“Yeah. You are.”
His action stole a little gasp from your lips, and he grinned devilishly. It only emboldened you, eager to finally rip away the thin, false veneer of a boundary that no longer existed between you.
“So...” you said as you put your forehead to his, your noses bumping gently, “what’re you gonna do about it?”
He could feel your hot breath, could smell the alcohol on your tongue. He squeezed his eyes shut, his brows furrowed. You were drunk, he was drunk and slightly high, and none of this was supposed to be happening.
He shouldn’t do this, he shouldn’t...
He didn’t want you to wake up in the morning and regret this, to write this off as a mistake. He wanted this to mean something.
But then you whined his name, the same way you did last night, with that needy, pleading tone that made his heart drop in his chest and his cock throb against his jeans.
“Dabi...”
Fuck it.
Dabi’s resolve shattered into a million pieces, and he kissed you.
Pleasure erupted like wildfire and you gasped against his lips. Your hands behind his neck instantly tightened around him as you slotted against his body like a magnet. His arms tightened around you, his hands following up and down the curve of your back before returning to cup your ass and push you tight against his groin where his need was heaviest. Your need was heavy too, pulsing in your veins and throbbing between your legs until you were sure you’d drown.
Your mouth opened hungrily, and Dabi was done for, his tongue meeting yours as he kissed you fiercely. His hand came up to cradle the back of your neck, keeping you close, preventing you from pulling away as he drank you in.
You were lightheaded, on the brink of fainting, when your lips finally parted. Dabi stared at you, his pupils dilated, his lips wet.
“Wanna get outta here?” he finally asked.
“Yeah,” you breathed.
Dabi grabbed your hand and dragged you out of the club into the night air. The cold chilled the sweat on your skin, your hearing muffled from the aftereffects of the club music. Everything held a strange lucidity now, despite the alcohol still rampant in your veins. It was as if a heavy veil had finally been lifted and you could see the beauty of the world around you, all of its edges in crystal clear clarity, and at the center of it was him.
You practically had to jog to keep up, your head still swimming. You turned the corner and managed to find yourself on a quieter street, with less people. He led you down it, making another turn into another nondistinct alleyway, much quieter than the last without any back entrances to clubs or bars.
You needed to kiss him again. You needed it like you needed air.
You tugged on his arm, yanking him back toward you. You met the incoming momentum of his body with your hand on his cheek and your lips on his, hot and eager.
He kissed you back instantly, his tongue opening your mouth again and he backed you up against the wet brick wall, his palms exploring your body. Your hips, your thighs... he pressed himself against you, and you moaned at the feeling of his thigh pressing between your legs, your hips rolling.
Dabi’s mouth broke from yours to trail wet kisses to your jawline and down your neck. Your fingers gripped his hair, your body moving of its own accord, finally cut loose of its strings.
But suddenly, a wave of unpleasant heat began to wash over you, and the lightheadedness from before evolved into full-on spinning.
“Dabi...” you warned.
“Hm?” he hummed, too engrossed in the feel of you to hear the shift in your tone.
You could feel it, the way your stomach rolled. All that drinking, and dancing, and running...
You were going to be sick.
“Dabi stop –”
You shoved him away just in time to bend over to the side and vomit your alcohol all over the ground.
“Oh shit.” Dabi’s arm was around you in an instant, holding you up as you emptied your stomach, his other hand brushing your hair back and out of your face. “It’s okay, doll. I gotcha.”
The lust in Dabi’s veins evaporated immediately, his mental fog receding as he held you while your body convulsed.
Realization crashed over him on all that had just happened.
He shouldn’t have done any of this.
He shouldn’t have taken you that club, he shouldn’t have danced with you, he shouldn’t have touched you like that...
And he definitely shouldn’t have kissed you. Not while you were both drunk off your asses, where you couldn’t tell where the alcohol ended and your feelings began.
Fuck, you were too important to him to fuck this up.
It was too late now. He could still taste you on his tongue, could recall in stunning clarity the feel of your body beneath his palms, the way it had bent to his will. He’d finally had a taste of you and he craved more. He’d unlocked something within himself that couldn’t be put back, had given away something that couldn’t be returned.
You moaned miserably once you were done and wiped your mouth. You propped yourself against the wall with your body bent and your hands on your legs.
“Ughh...” you groaned.
Dabi crouched in front of you so he could look up into your face. “You okay?”
You looked at him with tired eyes and shook your head. “Nnnnope. Everything’s...” – you whirled your finger in a circular motion – “ssspinning.” You lowered your head again. “Oh, God. That last drink hit hard.”
Dabi took your hand in his. “Let’s get you home.”
“Yyyup,” you replied. You made to stand up, but the nausea came back. “Woah, woah... hang on... I’mmm gonna... need another m-minute.” Your words were slurred and your movements slow. You bent back over, your head low again as you breathed deep breaths in and out.
Dabi crouched in front of you again. He placed his hands on your calves and rubbed his thumbs in small circles into the denim.
You glanced up at him and a drunk giggle escaped your lips. “Totally sexy right now, aren’t I?”
Dabi smirked. “You’re always sexy.”
You straightened up slightly and breathed in through your nose and out your mouth as the nausea began to subside and the spinning slowed. You leaned your head back against the wall, your eyes closed.
“I thought I wasn’t your type,” you joked.
Dabi stood up and brushed your hair away from your face. “Obviously that was a fuckin’ lie.”
“Liar, liar, pants on fire.”
You were spiraling now, all the alcohol you didn’t throw up running amok in your system, and it was late. Dabi put his arm around your shoulder to keep you steady.
“C’mon, doll... I think we’ve had enough fun for tonight.”
“Mmm... I like when you call me doll,” you hummed.
“I know you do.”
“And sweetheart.”
“Yep.”
Dabi started to help you out of the alley, but you stumbled, your steps wobbly. You broke out into a fit of giggles but had to pause again as another wave of nausea washed over you.
“You gonna throw up again?” he asked.
“I dunno. I mean... I’m pretty sure there’s nothing left to throw up.” You looked around you, the surroundings unfamiliar. “How far away is home?”
“We gotta get to the train.”
“Ugghhh... too far,” you whined. Exhaustion was coming on fast and hard. You wanted to lay down on the ground and sleep.
A raindrop struck the top of your head, then another. More and more began to fall.
Dabi cursed. “Ah, shit...”
You held your hand out, watching as they landed on your palm, your fingers. You opened your mouth and caught a couple drops on your tongue.
Dabi stared at you, his breath stuck in his chest.
You were the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. And, for at least a little while tonight, you were his. He watched, memorizing the nuances of you, your laugh, your smile, the color of your eyes, your hair, every beauty and every imperfection locked away into a safe place on the possibility that tomorrow everything would be different.
Tomorrow you may not want him at all.
So, for now, he’d enjoy however much was left of the night, even if all that was left was laughing, stumbling, and dancing in the rain.
The drops began to fall faster, heavier. It began to flatten his hair and soak into his clothes. You were oblivious, your face tilted up towards the falling rain, as you held your arms out. You did a small spin but stumbled, and Dabi caught you in his arms before you could hit the pavement.
“Whoops!” You giggled.
“Shitfaced,” he teased.
“Happy,” you replied. You put your arms around his torso, your head resting against his chest. “Happy.” You repeated again, your voice softer.
Dabi allowed his arms to wrap around you, allowed his quirk to warm his body slightly to stave off the cold for the both of you.
He had to get you back, before the trains shut down.
“Come on doll, we gotta hurry.” Dabi grabbed your hand and began dragging you down the street. You followed him, your feet barely able to keep up.
As the rain soaked through your clothes, you began to shiver. Puddles formed in the street, small streams trickling down the gutters. By the time you’d managed to reach the train station, you were both soaked. Dabi managed to get you onto the last train for the night. You sat down together and you began rubbing your arms, your teeth chattering slightly.
Dabi took off his stitched coat and draped it over your shoulders. “Here.”
You wrapped it around you gratefully and snuggled against him, your arms wrapped around his.
As the train began to move, it rocked ever so slightly, back and forth. Dabi allowed his cheek to rest against your wet head as he watched the city pass outside. He felt an unusual sense of quiet in this moment, a peace that he’d never felt before. The usual darkness in him was always there, lurking, but for once, he didn’t care about it, didn’t look at it. He knew this night was wrought with impermanence, and he told himself that he would pretend.
After a silence that lasted for eternity, Dabi allowed himself to speak from a place that he usually kept quiet, a place he’d never before given credence to.
“I hope you remember this...” he whispered against your hair.
You didn’t answer. The mixture of alcohol, exhaustion, warmth, and the movement of the train had lulled you to sleep. It forced a small loneliness to settle on Dabi’s shoulders.
It had been fun while it lasted.
He had to shake you awake once the train reached your stop. You were half asleep as you followed him off and leaned against him the entire walk home. Dabi had half a mind to give you a piggyback ride to save time, but the healing wound on his back itched as a reminder. His scars didn’t hurt terribly yet, but he remained cautious, aware that your quirk had burned off long ago. Now it was only your pills that were keeping the excruciating pain at bay. He could feel them lurking beneath the surface, waiting to wreak havoc on his body again.
It was an ordeal getting you in and up the stairs. You’d gravitated towards the couch in the common room as soon as you saw it, and whined at him when he redirected you to the stairs.
“Elevator,” you whined.
The old machinery squeaked and rattled, and Dabi didn’t want to wake the others just to deal with curious looks and even more curious questions.
“Too noisy.” Dabi replied.
So, he helped you up the steps of the stairwell, catching you when you faltered.
By the third stumble, your giggles returned.
“Shh, shut up,” he whispered.
Your giggle turned into a cackle, unable to control yourself, and Dabi put his hand over your mouth to try to quiet you. Your tongue stuck out and licked his palm, running across his staples.
He yanked his hand away, repulsed. “Ugh! You’re disgusting.”
You cackled some more, and your voice echoed off the stairwell. You clamped your own hand over your mouth to stifle your laughter as your eyes squeezed shut, tears stinging the corners.
Dabi couldn’t help but chuckle at you.
“You’re ridiculous,” he muttered. “Come on, you idiot.”
He finally had to put your arm around his shoulder and his arm around your waist, and your giggles finally subsided, the occasional chuckle escaping your lips.
Dabi managed to get you through your bedroom door and plopped you down on top of your bed, where you lay sprawled out, your eyelids heavy.
“Dabi...” you slurred.
Dabi began helping you out of your shoes. “Yeah?”
“Did we kiss?”
Dabi froze, his hands in the middle of peeling off your wet socks. It was as if like you’d shot a bullet through his chest, and now his heart was bleeding out, leaving nothing but emptiness inside.
You didn’t remember.
You already forgot.
Dabi stared at you for a moment as you laid back with your arm over your eyes to block the light. His jaw clenched.
“No, doll.”
“Aww...” you pouted. “I thought we did...”
“You must’ve been dreaming on the train.”
“Mmm, it was a really good dream...”
You rolled to your side and curled in on yourself, tears in your eyes as you stared at your bedside lamp. You were still wrapped up in his coat, with your own soaked jacket underneath.
“C’mon, doll.”
Dabi made you sit up and began taking his coat off you. You rubbed at your eyes sleepily. As soon as he got your own jacket off, you fell back sideways into the bed. Dabi grabbed your blanket and laid it over you.
“I wish I were your type...” you whispered.
Dabi froze for a moment, his eyes on you. But you didn’t look at him; it was almost as if you were talking to yourself.
It stung him how little you remembered from your night together. But Dabi accepted it bitterly, playing along. Maybe it was for the best. Maybe tomorrow you wouldn’t hate him.
“No you don’t,” he replied quietly.
“Yes I do....”
Your eyes closed, and Dabi watched and waited. But they didn’t open again, and your breaths fell soft and even. You’d fallen asleep.
A heavy sigh escaped out of his nose, and he crouched at the edge of your bed, his arms on your mattress with his chin in his fist as he watched you sleep.
His type. It was the second time you’d brought it up that night, even though you didn’t remember. He remembered the jab he’d thrown at you ages ago; he remembered how you reacted. It was his first real hint that showed him you were interested in him.
But then everything fell apart and you put him back together piece by piece. And it was all different after that. Dabi had assumed that his little comment no longer mattered; that it had become a thing of the past, once you’d gotten to know him and all of his problems. After all, why the hell would you even want to be his type anyway?
But you did, and now his careless words from before were back to bite him in the ass. Because now he had only one type, and it was you.
And you weren’t going to remember a thing.
