Please share some fav frelma moments or headcanons? The fandom is so quiet ahaha
Sure!
Canon from the books trilogy (spoilers duh) (shot out to my friend Clei for getting me the books)
1) When Daphne makes Velma accidentally admit she has a crush on Fred and her reaction is just 'Damn Velma I didn't know you were so traditional'
2) When they dance together in Shaggy's house in the second book
3) Fred shamelessly flirting by touching her hair at school and Velms' almost heart attack.
4) Really, Velma's pining in the books is delicious.
5) The almost kiss in the third book.
6) When Fred almost dies in that fire and Velma just starts to cry out of pure relief when she sees him alive
7) Fred telling the journalists next thing he's doing is asking 'the girl he likes' out when he leaves hospital.
8) Their last scene together at the end. Which lives rent free on my head. I even wrote a little continuation/expansion of that scene in a drabble.
(Overall, the books aren't perfect. The focus is Daphne and Velma's friendship and that means too little focus on Shaggy and Freddie. But it was absolutely worth it. It was like the best Frelma fanfic but actually canon in its verse. Clinging to those books forever)
Honorific mentions of other versions: the "DORKY CHICKS LIKE YOU TURN ME ON TOO" line in the live action (lmfao) (Linda Cardellini and Freddie Prinze's chemistry was awesome), Fred going all the way to show her he appreciates everything she does in Be Cool Scooby Doo, and their scenes together in The Mystery Begins. Also every moment they share the screen in 'Mystery Incorporated: Welcome to Coolsville'. That version of the characters was the best one in recent years.
..
Headcanons now:
1) Has anyone watched that animated short horror video parodying the totally awful Velma show? The one with eldritch monster Scooby? Yeah they're together the next time Scooby reboots reality. Both of them are aware of what's going on and try to scape the time loop (confusing if you don't know the story of the video 'Velma Meets The Original Velma' on YouTube, plz watch it)
2) Moving on to greener grasses, eventually they have twin boys, Ricky and Roger (named after Fred and Shaggy). Obviously Daphne and Shaggy are the godparents.
3) Shaggy let's them adopt 3 puppies from the Doo family years in the future.
4) Scrappy lived with them for some time. Velma was the only one who could boss him around. Fred spoiled him.
5) Velma sends him food to his work out of nowhere because sometimes she's sure he's forgotten to eat. He does the same plus flowers. Both of them are right: they forget to have dinner. Shaggy never shuts up about it.
6) (I usually go with Archeologist!Fred and Astronomer!Velms. They travel a lot) (The kids are homeschooled until they can leave for a boarding school)
7) Ricky and Roger are mama boys
8) Fred does the taxes. Velms always forgets.
9) Shaggy is a chef (duh) and Daphne a private detective and they're never too far away. Their kid is a little older than the twins but they hang out a lot. Sometimes Velma refers to Daphne as 'her sister' so the boys don't figure out Daphne isn't their 'actual aunt' until they're older.
10) Velma has a photo of him on her wallet. Fred is the little spoon.
#Pfff I'm always on my frelma train#All I need is a little push and I'll write endlessly about those dorks#Also watch Welcome To Coolsville they're everything there#And read the books they're totally worth it#Frelmas fandom is small but dedicated and my favorite place#Eventually I always come back to Scooby Doo#Bury me with the Frelma books in the coffin#I also ship the other 3 combinations but Frelma was the first one so it has a special place#scooby doo#Daphne and velma trilogy#Daphne and velma the Vanishing Girl#Daphne and Velma Dark Deception#Daphne and Velma Buried Secrets#I'll always thank C for getting me the last book#Frelma#velma dinkley#fred jones#shaphne

"Oh," Bri's eyes widened as she rounded the corner to find herself staring face to face with a practical stranger in her kitchen. "Daphne, right? Ronnie's sister?" she asked vaguely recognizing her from the other night and the fact that she had put down a million dollars to save her as per Ronnie's request. "Is Ronnie not down yet, because if not, could I offer you something? We have a fully stocked bar and water and seltzer. You name it really."

Chalea + her little wannabe trophy king
(or alternatively: Chalea + her pet queen)
Originally I was only planning to edit this meme for Halea and Silas, but then I realised that it fits Daphne & Halea even better. Someone’s got a soft spot for easy-to-manipulate humans.
(Art is from the comic Phantomarine that you can read here)
Bonus meme :)
#phantomarine#halea haumea#daphne philemon#silas silenus#cheline#chalea#c!halea#phantomarine spoilers#meme#edit#chelsil#cheldaph#wow it’s really up to me to come up with ship names huh#it's not even 100% confirmed that this is Cheline in Halea's body#(only 99% through context clues but THE NAME IS NEVER SAID ANYWHERE not even the transcript) and it's driving me nuts :')#if we all know and agree that this Cheline#then why would the creator make the deliberate choice to dance around naming the facts#it feels like a trap

20 Book Challenge
I saw this challenge on a post by @theresebelivett. The idea is you pick 20 of your books to take with you to a desert island, but you can only pick one book per author and series. Here are two further guidelines I set myself: They have to be books I actually own, as if I really am gathering them up under my arms and heading to the island; and I'm defining "book" as a single volume -- so if I just so happen to have 100 novellas squashed between two covers, it still counts as one book.
We'll go alphabetically by author.
Charlotte Bronte: Jane Eyre. An old standby, a classic, I can jump into it at any point.
Daphne du Maurier: Rebecca. Have only read it once, but loved it and I suspect I'll get more from it each time.
Clare B Dunkle: The Hollow Kingdom. If I can only take one book from this excellent and unusual goblin series that captivated me in the mid-2000s, it'd better be the first one.
William Goldman: The Princess Bride. This book had an outsize influence on my own writing. I can quote a lot of it, but I wouldn't want to be without it.
Shannon Hale: Book of a Thousand Days. I love the warmth and humility of its heroine Dashti. Plus, Shannon Hale very kindly wrote a personal response to a fan letter I sent her years and years ago, so her work always has a special place in my heart.
Georgette Heyer: Cotillion. I don't actually own my favorite Georgette novel, but the funny, awkward, and ultimately romantic Cotillion is definitely not a pitiful second-stringer.
Eva Ibbotson: A Countess Below Stairs. Countess was my introduction to Eva's adult romances, and she is the past master of warm, hardworking heroines who should really be annoying because they're way too good to be true, but somehow you just end up falling in love with them.
Norton Juster: The Phantom Tollbooth. I first read this when I was like eight, and even for an adult, its quirky humor and zingy wordplay hold up, no problem.
Gaston Leroux: The Phantom of the Opera. Can't leave without Erik, nope, the French potboiler has got to come. Perhaps I will spend my time on the island writing the inevitable crossover fanfic, The Phantom of the Tollbooth.
CS Lewis: Till We Have Faces. Faces is my current answer for what my favorite book is, so I'm taking that, though it feels criminal to leave The Silver Chair behind.
LM Montgomery: The Blue Castle. As much as I love Anne and Emily, it came down to Blue Castle and A Tangled Web, and I'm a sucker for Valancy's romantic journey.
E Nesbit: Five Children and It. Probably the most classic Edwardian children's fantasy, though still a hard choice to make. Nesbit is another author who had a huge influence on me as a writer.
Robert C O'Brien: Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. A childhood book I'm really sentimental about. I should re-read it.
Meredith Ann Pierce: The Darkangel. The first in the archaic lunar vampire trilogy. This will always be frustrating, only having the first in the series, but if I can only read the first, maybe I'll forget about how angry the third novel left me.
Sherwood Smith: Crown Duel. At one time, this swords-and-manners fantasy duet was one of my absolute favorite fandoms, and clever me has both books in one volume, so I don't have to choose.
Anne Elisabeth Stengl: Starflower. My favorite of the Tales of Goldstone Wood series. We'll have to test whether I can actually get sick of Eanrin.
JRR Tolkien: The Lord of the Rings. I've never actually read it through as an adult and, look at that, I have a three-in-one volume. Cheating!
Vivian Vande Velde: Spellbound. I've read much of VVV's YA fantasy and liked a lot of it, but none more so than The Conjurer Princess and its fast-paced tale of revenge. The Spellbound edition includes the prequel and a bonus short story, so I'm good to go.
PG Wodehouse: The World of Mr Mulliner. There are some hilarious novels I'm leaving behind here, including all the Bertie Wooster stuff. But there are some absurdly fun Mulliner stories and this edition is like three hundred pages. That'll keep me happy for a long while on my island.
Jack Zipes (editor): Spells of Enchantment. This is an enormous compilation of western fairy tales. I've owned it since 2004 or so, and I've still never finished it. Now, on my island, I'll no longer have the excuse.
Tagging anyone else who feels like doing this!

WITH: daphne st. claire // @daphnestclaire LOCATIONS: enchanted gowns
It was on days like this that Ruhi wondered if it was time to start hitting the gym again. Where she had fallen out of her usual routine, it wasn’t every day that she was trying to wrangle an extremely heavy wedding dress out of her car and into the store where it had been purchased. Fighting with the layers of fabric while ensuring that it did not touch the ground, the little bell at the door indicated her arrival. And though she could not immediately see Daphne in her line of vision ( blocked by the tulle explosion in front of her ), she pressed the fabric down and greeted the woman with a smile. “Just the woman I was looking for, and hopefully my saving grace.”

Closed starter - @wrxthbornx “Yeah, but you should see the other guy.”

to: @tendrcsse's daphne
"There’s a book in my world," Viego began, his voice quiet yet charged with meaning. "It tells of myths, ancient stories. One in particular stands out—a tale of a nymph named Daphne, fleeing from the god Apollo, who was hopelessly in love with her." He stepped out from the shadows, the soft echo of his footsteps the only sound in the room. They were alone now, away from the prying eyes of the crowd. The moment he saw her, she had gained his complete attention, unable to pull away. She looked exactly as she had three years ago—ethereal, almost ghostlike, a vision that sent an icy shiver racing down his spine.
"Daphne couldn’t stand the thought of being with him," he continued, his voice hardening. "So she chose to be turned into a tree by her father, rather than submit." Something old and dark stirred within him, a long-buried ember flickering back to life. Rage, simmering just beneath the surface. Viego had always suspected, always knew that Daphne hadn’t simply vanished. No one ever gave him answers, no one dared speak of her fate. Yet here she stood, in the flesh, not a myth, not a memory. The sight of her, so close after all these years, ignited that smoldering fury.
He stood just feet away from her, staring down at her delicate features with a storm of emotions roiling inside. The words he wanted to say clawed at his throat. How could you leave me when I needed you the most? Yet, he swallowed them. Stubborn pride held him back. He refused to admit how deeply he had needed her. What he wanted now were answers. Closure. Silence stretched between them, heavy and tense. Then, taking another step closer, he tilted his head, his eyes boring into hers as if trying to unearth her secrets.
"Was I Apollo in your story?"

Hayden had been meaning to stop by the clinic, so she stopped to speak to the first person she saw there. It was odd, something was so familiar about the woman's face. "Hi, I just wanted to drop off this sheet with my updated hours for therapy referrals, can I leave this with you?"

"no, darling, because i studied da vinci's work when the man was alive and genius though he may have been, he had a tendency to ramble on." daphne's face hovered entirely too close to her painting, each and every delicate stroke of the brush small and precise, and only once she was satisfied with the result did she pull back to glance over her shoulder. "i'm honestly still holding a grudge over the fact that he chose that bitch lisa to be his muse when i was right there."
