the smile missy offers up at paige is definitely forced, stomach twisting in knots as she settles on the bed in her dorm room. while telling paige is definitely not as scary as telling her family ... still. she's still trying to force herself not to run out of the room to throw up. "so. uh. okay. i kind of have a reason for calling you over here ..." she swallows heavily, telling herself to take a deep breath in and out. maybe slightly regretting telling miles she wanted to do this alone. but she knows it's better that it's just her and paige. "i ... i have something to tell you and i really hope you won't hate me for it afterwards."

"i know." missy says with a nod, sympathy evident in her tone and facial expression. "i know you were, and it's bullshit that you ever were. the pressures and expectations that were put on you ... were completely unfair. especially at such a young age." she reaches forward and gives the blonde's knee a little squeeze. "it doesn't matter if you were - are - a super genius or whatever, you didn't deserve any of it. and how you acted in response to all of it was totally valid as well. not everyone can be like sheldon and take it in stride." lips quirk upward in a half smile, just hoping her words at least have some effect on paige.

not for the first time missy is glad she has a single, glad it can just be her and paige and she doesn't have to kick anyone out or anything. even as nervous as she is. she fidgets with her fingers a little, letting out a forced little laugh as paige reassures she'll never hate her. "okay, well, i'm going to be holding you to that." she says and it sounds like it could be a joke, a tease, but it's maybe a little more serious than one might think. she takes another breath in and out before telling herself to just get it out, say it. get it over with. she looks to paige, bracing herself before she says - "paige, i'm pregnant."

    ❝    yeah?    ❞    she looks up at missy from toying with her fingernails, moving to sit down across from her friend. in some ways, it's a bit comforting for paige to be in a college dorm... weird as that may sound.    ❝    i figured this wasn't just a fun visit. but- what's going on?    ❞    paige had known since missy reached out that something was up, just- by the way she'd sounded on the phone. blonde shakes her head though, rolling her eyes at missy's words.    ❝    i'll never hate you missy cooper-    ❞    she's felt enough resentment in her life, and knows she'll continue to. going to college at 12 years old... dropping out... then well... re-enrolling a few months later... she's known a lot of negativity. but she tries to be less cynical with missy now. she wants to be supportive, whatever's going on.
