the Donquixote brothers are yet another fucking tragedy, hell their blood line is. Doflamingo’s alias is the ‘joker’, while Rosinante (the better brother) resembles a clown or in my opinion a jester. These brothers represent a Jester and a Joker, here’s why:

Jester (Rosinante) - in the medieval times, a jester symbolizes common sense and honestly, and was often giving insight or advice on the monarch. While Rosinante doesn’t give advice on how to run his brothers crew (because he was thought of as mute and undercover), he does have a higher position and ‘protection’ (ig) because he is Doflamingo’s brother. Jesters also have another role, psychological warfare, often riding in front of enemies to mock them, this fits better, considering Rosinante was a double agent. But jesters are also characterized as destructive and with a mean streak, this could be seen with Law, as it showed Rosinante doing anything to get a cure for him and eventually ending with him sacrificing his life so Law could live and escape his brother.

Joker (Doflamingo) - a joker is chaotic and unpredictable with intelligence, they also can be depicted as a ‘one bad day away’ scenario. Doflamingo, always one for looking towards the future and how to grow empire, making most of the decisions wild, but not undoable. As for the ‘one bad day away’, that is down with the fact that he killed his own blood family, with the father it was more of karma. With Rosinante, it was out of a sense of betrayal, first he ‘leaves’ or disappears when they were just children, then Rosinante left again with law and stole the Devils fruit, which he probably thought was rightfully his. I will say that that the deaths were caused with future goals in mind, if he loved more in the present, then 50/50 at least Rosinante lives….

Rosinante probably has more because I like him better and know more about him than doflamingo but I am a sucker for angst and tragedy.

THE KNIGHT IN SOUR ARMOR TROPE [explanation]

The world is filled with wide eyed idealists who believe in truth and justice and devote their lives to fighting for it. And then the dark, cruel and brutal world keeps letting them down. For them, being good sucks. But rather than giving up on their goals, they choose to fight, not because they believe they will truly make a difference, but because it's the right thing to do.

They're usually survivors who have largely given up on believing in honor before reason, but still strive to be Lawful Good or as close to it as reality allows them to be. They are willing to bend the rules to save them. In lighter and softer settings, these characters are cynics and are often mocked by the other characters for being so sour all the time.

The presence of cynicism usually makes the idealistic behavior even more noteworthy: it's easy to love everyone, but you really have to be a good guy to believe that humans are bastards and CARE about them anyway.

Generally, these characters fit one of two personality types. Members of the first type are former 'wide eyed idealists' who have come to accept that their world is on the cynical end, but who still find something beautiful in their former ideals that they want to hold on to. Those of the second type are born cynics, who would make natural jerkass antiheroes, but who nevertheless have devoted themselves to a code of honor or fair play. In either case, these people tend to have gone through (often painful) character development in their past.

portrayal rundown & key characterization notes.

lucifer is considered a revolutionary and the general of the fallen angels during the rebellion against heaven. he rallied a third of heaven's legions. there is growing dissent in hell now, criticism that lucifer has grown weaker and is unwilling to take up arms against heaven.

he fought in the name of free will and individualism.

he swayed & married lilith with these ideals. had a failed situationship with adam. then took his second wife as well, in petty spite.

lucifer was initially so fond of them, in eden. he found them intriguing: lilith's free spirit, so like his own, and adam's curiosity.

he showed music to adam, then gave him a harp to strum along with the heavenly choirs.

during the initial years in hell, he was very involved in the politics of hell, holding out hope that they can take up arms again. over the centuries, he grew bored and dejected, seeing no purpose in such ambitions. lilith ran the kingdom of hell for the majority of the time.

loves his wife & child beyond words but he got rather distant over time and now struggles to bond with charlie. he wants to support her whilst also keeping her safe.

he can be very playful and mischievous, whilst maintaining an air of elegance

his true angelic form is massive and ethereal, in the shape of a draconic serpent, with six wings and many eyes & mouths. marble white.

it is funny yet beautiful how this song fits two parts of emrys’s life? a love that still lives in his heart though its source has died (his words areti), while the other is a love he is probably trying to escape and not admit(with ahri @vulpesse )

no cuz when i say mikoto is clumsy i mean he's clumsy. my fave example is him trying to look all cool next to takeshi's motorcycle, just like leaning on it as a group of people walk by and he just stares at them with his arms across his chest trying to be all intimidating and badass... and he leans on it too hard and it falls over and sends the rest of the bikes down with it LMFAO.
