As promised in their texts, Luce showed up to Isla's about an hour later, armed with no less than four bags from her latest shopping trip (one just filled with wine bottles gently clanking around inside) and the moment the door was opened Lucinda just strolled right on in. "Okay, okay, okay. I am here for a fashion show. I need your honest opinion on half this shit and I brought the booze to make sure nothing but the truth comes out of your pretty mouth."

Retail therapy was a very real thing for Sterling and with all the the anxiety she'd had about her pregnancy, she's been finding herself shopping more and more. It'd been a while since she stopped by the sea glass boutique so she thought she'd come by and check it out to see what new items they had.

It was while she was shopping that she spotted Isla. She recognized her from Rowan's Instagram stories, and she felt a bit silly for the pang of jealousy she felt. Rowan was Sterling's best friend and Rowan could obviously have more than one friend, so it wasn't like she was being replaced, but it was a bit upsetting to see Rowan and Isla going to clubs and out drinking and dancing and all the things Sterling couldn't do right now. It often made her worry that one day Rowan would decide Isla was more fun and Sterling would be left behind... again.

Sterling decided to try to slip out of the boutique unnoticed but she hesitated a moment too long and she was spotted.

"Hi Isla." She gave her a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes, one that almost looked more like she was stifling a grimace.

Aurora Bay was no stranger to celebrities or anyone famous trying to hide away from the cameras and crowds, but Jade’s entire career started in this town. It’s not like she moved to Aurora Bay to escape the fame, her life was well documented on the daily as she filmed her reality show as a medium. Sure, sometimes she was called to places outside of town for readings, but everyone seemingly knew her in Aurora Bay and knew that’s where she was from.

Thankful to get a moment away from the cameras, she walked outside and pulled her vape out of her pocket, a nasty habit that was only getting worse by the day. “You ever just want to run away from everything and go somewhere you’re a total stranger.” She asked the person beside her as she let the vapor escape her lips.

"I'm sorry we both found out like this." Devon sat with Isla at the counter in his bare, new apartment. It hadn't taken him long to realize he couldn't stay in a hotel and he had been able to find a place easily. It was pretty pitiful at the moment but he had enough to make them dinner. As he started to put the pieces together and learned that Beau had to deliver the same news to her it broke his heart all over again. "Guess we both need better phones, huh?" He let out a soft laugh as he refilled his glass with wine. "I know it's probably stupid to ask how you're doing but...how are you doing?" Out of three, he and Isla had actually had some communication outside of their hometown. They had let each other in on their outside lives and for that he had always been grateful. But he hated that they shared this same fate and though he would never discourage her from spreading her wings, he was starting to wonder if he had led her astray.

"And if you don't want to talk about it, we can talk about how the fuck I'm gonna decorate this apartment. You know it's got multiple bedrooms, nice place for you to crash if you ever need it. Where are you living anyway?" @islasinclxir

I can't wait for the day when someone finishes watching Voyager for the first time and comes on here asking "does anyone know what happened to Janeway and Chakotay after Voyager?" and we all point them towards Prodigy. That's going to be such a joyous occasion.

Mason leaned back in his chair, one hand cradling a steaming mug of black coffee while the other drummed absentmindedly against the wooden table. The coffee shop buzzed softly around him—baristas calling out names, the hiss of the espresso machine, and the hum of quiet conversation. It was his usual spot, tucked near the window where he could watch the world go by without feeling too much a part of it. He glanced toward the counter as the door chimed, letting in a gust of crisp air and a familiar face he wasn’t expecting to see. Isla. He hadn’t seen her in awhile, maybe longer, and yet she strolled in as if she’d just stepped out of the pages of his memory.

A slow smile tugged at his lips as he raised his coffee in a silent salute, his deep voice cutting through the distance just enough to catch her attention. "Didn’t expect to see you here, Isla. What’s the occasion—craving caffeine or just trying to escape the world for a bit?" His tone was light, but his gaze lingered, curious as ever.

"What can I get yo-" Esma was cut off as she looked down at the blonde, her face almost instantly screwing up in disgust. Isla must have been bored to be coming to the tiny little Irish pub and she was the last person Esma wanted to be serving. "What do you want?" Her tone changed from monotone and uninterested to slightly defensive already and the blonde hadn't even opened her catty mouth yet.

AU OC Introduction:

I couldn’t decide if I wanted to give my OC - Isla - a cursed ability or not since I designed her in way that she’d bring comfort to Jude. Then I thought why not make an AU version and give her one? So I did. I often imagine she and Jude as university students, and thought it’d be nice to have that version of herself as a cursed individual.

Much like my OG Isla, she is French and Scottish, with her parents moving to England just before she was born. Her parents run an extremely popular B&B in scenic England. 

She is a second year university student that is majoring in Underwater Archaeology, with a minor business (in case she must take over her parent’s business one day). She has a younger sister Mara. 

For years Isla has been a cursed user, however, she never knew exactly what to label it until she finally has her run in with Crown on campus. Even after, she meets Crown and learns what curses are, she never reveals to them that she herself is a curse user. This is for a couple of  reasons: 

She doesn’t want to form emotional connections she doesn’t need to. This can be a trigger to her curse ability.

Isla has never committed a serious sin as of yet (?) with her curse like the others have and she doesn’t want to.

The nature of her ability: When Isla is either hyper-emotional, or if someone she loves is in danger (sparking her emotions),  she can open up a body of water and drown them or drive them to madness. Once the victim has fallen inside her abyss, her consciousness transfers to the water and takes the form of a water spirit that will either drive the victim to madness or drown them. However, this is a snare to her physical body since her consciousness is not present within it. Hence, she’s exposed to attacks. 

A part from this, anytime she touches natural, fresh bodies of water, something happens which causes her to lose her cool. Thus, she hates freshwater. This doesn’t include treated bodies of water such as swimming pools, baths etc. 

Isla wants more than anything to be normal and her journey to understanding her curse is bumpy. And meeting Jude…..doesn’t help. Eventually, everything gets exposed to Crown and eventually Jude, but by that time…..perhaps it’s too late.
