Electoral Prince Oscar

Included the different layers of hair I do because the hair is always this nebulous thing until I get to the fourth layer or so lol. Also wow no rough sketch!! I wanted to draw him in this AU, but I also wanted to practice drawing real people. I've mentioned this before about drawing but. It's so odd how you feel like drawing a certain thing(in this case, being able to draw a person directly without too much thought) is impossible, and then you reach a point where you're easily doing it without thinking.

As for Oscar's place in this AU. I'm still a little unsure if I'd like him to be a King/Prince of some Italian state(some of which are part of the HRE atp) or if I'd like him to be a Prince Electorate. For now, as you can see, I went with an Electoral Prince, which is the heir to a Prince Electorate. And what is that, you ask. Basically the guys who were apart of the Imperial Diet/Electoral College in charge of electing the Holy Roman Emperor. Getting farther into is too complicated because even I really only started understanding it pretty recently. I haven't decided too much about his role because hes part of a whole other generation, HOWEVER. The plot would probably be something along the lines of him coming to have a "residency" in Seb's court in order to learn more about the buearacracy and his future involvement. Mark is very much an empty nester atp, and eagerly accepts Oscar as his pupil and is eager to show him the ropes. Oscar is shrewd and already politically apt from a young age, but he's very happy to hang around Mark as his mentor, as there's always more to learn! ...among other reasons

I love the original Cars 2006 game so much. The one that got released on like GameCube and Xbox. I mean, I love all the Cars games(Cars 3 Switch game they did you dirty), but that's an entire story for another time giving my individual appriciation for all of them later. What I'm going to say here applies pretty well to the other games that are centered around the first movie as well like Race-O-Rama and Maternationals, but I'm specifcally rewatching the original one's cutscenes again because I don't want to restart my data every time I wanna go through the cutscenes again(even though I enjoy playing it so, so much), and I just love the atmosphere in it so much. Some of my favorite movie scenes are the ones where they don't have any music playing because I love to close my eyes and turn up the volume and just.. pretend I am right there with the characters and right next to them and stuff or that they're talking to me or such, and that is extra immersible when there isn't an entire orchestra going on(not that I am knocking at having music at all, I regularly go back and listen to the soundtracks from movies if they have them posted).

And the game doesn't really have any music at all during any of the cutscenes and the whole thing is like super..soft to me? Not soft as in like fluffy pillows and pink aesthetic soft, but soft as in like it's getting late out and so you're trying to be kinda hushed with your voice and there's not really anywhere you have to be so you slow down your pace and kick a couple of pinecones or rocks. If that makes any sense at all. Cause normally movies or shows(whether the whole series or each individual episode) have a certain plot or arc that is happening that everyone is focused on and consumes the whole thing, give or take a few moments. And while this game does have a particular thing so it can have a start and end to the story of the game, everything is framed in like a "Yeah, this is what they get up to in their freetime." And I don't know if you know but I love my slice of life stuff so sooooooo so so infinitely much. So getting to get that sort of content is really fun and perfect for me. It's like you're just actively hanging around them and getting caught up in whatever typical nonsense they end up in(assuming we are ignoring the whole monster truck bit), and the "OH THINGS ARE. HITITNG THE FAN." Or bigger development moments are saved for like the movies or something or whatever comes up in my head.

I'm not really entirely headed anywhere with this, I just wanted to put out some appriciation for the game and how nice the atmosphere is. I think it's also cause I really love getting to just sit and here them talk and there is a lot of casual conversation that happens and just plain dialog. Like it's not even filler dialog it's just talking and chatting. And I spend a stupid silly amount of time listening to voiceline compilations on YouTube so this is just the bees knees for me.

even yunli calls him yingxing, not ren/blade, reminding him of the stories passed down about him. it’s precisely these reminders that make it hard to accept a simplistic view of ren as just another hunter or a ruthless killing machine. those who knew yingxing continue to honor his memory and his talent, no matter what ren may have done to land a bounty on his head. now i'm not saying he's done nothing wrong, ren certainly earned that bounty, and it’s not about painting him as some untainted hero—but it’s clear he’s layered and complex, with a legacy that runs much deeper than his current life might suggest.

It had only been a normal day. Busy, yes, but normal. Running errands, tidying up the house and putting the laundry up to dry. He’d even gotten to the store in time for a few good sales all while Kuro was either on his head or lazing on the couch with a game in hand. There was nothing that could have warned him– He had only been trying to figure out what Kuro wanted for dinner. Walking over to the couch in the dim warm atmospheric lighting Kuro had ordered to bathe their plain apartment in, leaning over the top of the couch to peer at him.

He had only asked a simple question no different from anything he’d say any other day. But when Kuro had looked up at him to answer, something stopped him, his mouth just barely hanging open to make some strange sound. The light in his eyes glazed over in an instant and it felt like he barely had time to blink before a smile too big engulfs his face and his body drips and changes as he sits up.

And lunged.

His Servamp’s body was no longer his own and its host was laid to sleep in some unseen darkness, made unaware of anything Sloth may do. Unable to awaken on his own Kuro was dragged into the deafening depths of the demon’s head and Mahiru was left defenseless and for the taking. It’s surprising the Eve hadn’t gone insane. Seeing your partner’s body being taken control over and morph into something else that wanted to suck you in and devour you. If he weren’t so familiar, or perhaps if he were just anyone else, he would have lost his mind and person a long time ago.

The last thing he remembers before he got taken was the sight of that normally lazy body contorting. The feeling of clawed hands brushing against his skin and pulling him in and the feeling of something warm and plush pressed against his lips. He comes to tight in the embrace of his demon with their lips still locked together and a tongue pushing past his teeth, wading above the pitch black ground of his domain.

He really needs to set some more ground rules for these impromptu visits.

in the days since arriving to the city, natasha had adapted to her new situation, as she always did, and weaved a new web of lies. the woman she was currently pretending to be and the woman underneath the guise could not be more different. save for the common thread of drinking alcohol and smoking one too many cigarettes. old habits die hard.

with her suit jacket long forgotten on the back of the chair, the sleeves of her blouse rolled up and the first few buttons undone, she looked like a woman off work. she fits into her surroundings. but the same could not be said for the man across the bar, even if she had seen him the past few days. he looked disheveled in the way someone going through a rough patch does: like he wanted to forget. but this time around he ends up staring at her and after meeting him with an unwavering look of her own she finds herself taking her half finished wine and moving towards him.

"i've seen you here before. and i’ve seen them, too," @ashbalfour replies to her brazen greeting. but it is she who is intrigued by his reply. she's seen the man in question days prior but had thought nothing of him at the time. he was another regular patron, simple as that. however, upon further study by way of waving down the bartender, she notices the man's ill-fitting suit and the way he doesn't take an actual sip from his drink. it could be a coincidence. he could be waiting for someone. or attempting to gather up the courage to talk to her. but there's something about him that causes the hair on her arms to stand up. surely, they hadn't found her? not here in the city that never sleeps. taking a sip of her wine, natasha focuses her attention on the man before her, pushing away the unnerving thoughts as they would do her no good.

"do you always go about drunkenly looking out for women in bars?" she asks. this time it is amusement that laces her tone. a smile curls across her lips, even as her mind races to formulate a plan to get out because the last thing she wants to do is wait around and see if this stranger's assumptions are correct. natasha thinks back to the week old events that had transpired in oregon, of the unusual weather in chicago and detroit that reminds her of the unseen chaos still taking place. she mentally runs through the last few days in the city and of where she'd gone. nothing stood out but then again, she almost felt safe here—— insulated from everything that had happened and was happening. there was no way that man had any connection to the ranch in harney county she'd left behind. even if he did, in a city of eight million people, there was no way they'd found her so quickly. they didn't have the resources or connections for such a task. unless ... but the thought is pushed almost as quickly as it pops up. she isn't going to entertain what ifs. not here, not now.

I very much know this is because Jessica Cruz's origin story was written by Geoff Johns in a shitty comic, but by God is there so much going on there. Like damn.

Like there's the really, genuinely compelling stuff, for example the presence of ring horror and loss of control w Jess and Power Ring/Volthoom + the implications of that (character wise, both before and after JL 50) which is just SO interesting (and angsty!) to me personally

But then there's also more plot holes than you can shake a stick at as well (where did Jess get her ring. Guys it just showed up who died where did she get it from GUYS-)

All interspersed between some of the worst character writing for other Justice League members in existence (Wondy fans you know what I mean) and crazy ass plots out there

Watching Avatar the Last Airbender...

Politely reminded of the time people wanted my head because I said that ATLA ruined storytelling because some people can't fucking think critically of media before trying to tell you what's so good about it.

I LOVE AtLA! Adore it! But like.... A majority of people watched Zuko switch sides and said, "Damn... What if we redeemed ALL the villains?" Without realizing Zuko wasn't a true villain in need of redemption.

But... The Redemption Game isn't truly JUST the fault of AtLA... There was a shift in the Moral of the Story. Idk how to explain it bc I'm half asleep, but like...
